The way tire buying should be so, Brady Quinn, I
don't know if you're aware of this. You know, this
is something I want to I want to make sure
(01:16):
I'm keeping you up on game on something. But the
college football season kicks off not long from now, not no,
Notre Dame, Nay, you'd think.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
I mean, do you think all the teams, all of
the coaches, the players, the people around those organizations, that
the people who are covering that sport, you know, whether
it be domestic or even internationally, do you think they've
got everything all buttoned up.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
And ready to go?
Speaker 4 (01:43):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Yeah, come on, do you think so?
Speaker 4 (01:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:46):
I mean even like logistics and travel and things like that,
you think they've got that all button Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:51):
Listen, I mean you know, passports, everything dialed in. I mean,
everybody's good to go. Yeah, it should be, uh, I
mean it you know, coming up quick. So I would imagine,
you know, why would they leave it, you know, cutting
it so close?
Speaker 2 (02:04):
You know, I'm not forbid.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
And then then the one thing is like you got
to make sure you have the return flight coming back,
like God forbid, you get you get the flight to
go over there. But I mean, for example, I'm gonna
bring in Iowa salmon for this. Could you imagine Iowa Sam,
you know, the hawkeys, which they probably just would bus,
you know, from Iowa City to Ames.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
But can you imagine if they didn't have return.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Plans, like they were just sitting there, sitting ducks there
or sitting hawkeys, I guess in this case in Ames, Iowa.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Could you imagine the scenario like that?
Speaker 4 (02:34):
I can't. Yeah, what's a better place? Ames or Iowa City?
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Iowa City?
Speaker 4 (02:39):
Really?
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Yeah, not even it's not even debatable. Yeah, is that
a fair of Sam?
Speaker 4 (02:44):
Yeah? Listen, Brady's a neutral party and thems be the words. Yeah,
I don't know, I've heard different, But again, you know,
I'm more of an Ioway insider than a lot of people.
But that's that's neither hear nor there. But nonetheless, the
season is fast approaching in college football. We've got Navy
and Notre Dame in Dublin, Ireland. You know that's going
to be a fun one for everybody that goes over
(03:06):
and attends and has everything dialed in and has their
passports and stuff set up. So everyone's really excited. For
that to being the first game of the season. There's
been a lot of controversies in the world of college football.
I feel like a lot of it's been very negative.
So I got to ask you a question. We've got
two stories that we're going to hit on when it
comes to college football. Do you want something that's got
a little bit of a negative connotation or something that's
(03:27):
got more of a positive connotation, like a little bit
of a kind of a bright spot.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Let's start positive first. You know, it's a Thursday. Let's
start positive with our day.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
Step right up. Troy Taylor, Yeah, head coach of Stanford.
Love Troy and Stanford's one of the one of the
teams the PAC twelve. That's kind of looking around going okay,
now what there's been some discussions about how this whole
thing is going to play out with the remaining teams
in the PAC twelve and what the plan is going
(03:59):
to be. And so the discussion came with and you've
talked about this, the travel for some of these PAC
twelve teams. You know, is travel going.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
To be an issue?
Speaker 4 (04:07):
Is there going to be a problem you know with
all these teams traveling. Everybody's pointing at all the negative stuff,
and Troy Taylors of Stanford decided to take a different approach.
No bitching, no moaning, just the truth, just honesty and
really appreciative of any opportunity they get.
Speaker 5 (04:23):
I'm okay with travel, and I just our guys left
play football, you know, and we're you've got to travel
a little more. That means when people come playoffs, they
got to travel stuff. You know, we're we just want
to we want to play football. We want to be
in a great conference, and we're we're.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Sure that will happen.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
And the travel if that happens.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
In this fine assistant.
Speaker 5 (04:42):
You know, people used to have to come to cross
the country and a covered wagon. You know, it'd take
a month and they'd be completely different people by the
time they got there. You know, we get on a
plane for five hours, six hours. That's that's not the
end of the world. Little you know, you get you
get drinks served to you and and some snacks and
it's it's not it's not that bad.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
What a breath of fresh air.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
He's the best man.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
So I got to sit down, ironically, I got to
sit down with one of the teams.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
That's that's not been a part of the realignment so far.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
I got to sit with Bernard Muir, who's the athletic
director there at Stanford, along with coach Troy Taylor at
the PAC twelve dinner, and I had such a refreshing
conversation with coach Taylor. He's got an incredible perspective, so
it's not surprising to hear him say like, hey, I'm
okay with that, Like, what's the big deal we got
to travel, Okay, that it doesn't it doesn't matter to me,
(05:31):
one of the things. And and look, he understands the
challenge that he's undertaking and taking over a Stanford program
that's that's struggled of late.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
But one of the best things.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
We had a conversation just about, you know, his philosophy
and how he sees things, and he said, oh, he's
like well, he goes yeah, He's like, we're gonna like
put the pedal to the metal, you know. And then
he obviously for people who don't know his background, he's
coming from Sacramento State. He was actually a high school
coach at Fulsome High school where he had a ton
of success. Offensive mind former NFL quarterback had a ton
(06:03):
of success though in high school and ended up you know,
leading to him having success to at Sack State. But
it's common to me and I've honestly, for as long
as I have played and then been around the sport,
I had not had a coach say this to me,
and at least in this way. He goes, well, yeah,
every single kind of game we're trying to blow someone out.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
I'm like, well, I was like, well, yeah, I get that.
But he's like, no, no, no, He's like, he says, you
have to understand.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
He goes, you know, situational football is one of those
things you could rep it, you can practice it, he goes.
But he goes, when it really comes down to the
game time scenario of executing you know, situational place, third down,
red zone, two minute, you know, end of game plays,
he goes, you know, you could do everything right in
the game of football, you could still lose, he goes.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
So we try not to leave it up to those moments, like.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
We don't want to have to try to win the
battle of you know, winning these specific scenarios every single week.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
Like he's like, we'd like to beach it by two
or three scores.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
He's like, so when we get up, we're gonna stay up,
We're gonna keep pouring it on.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
And I was like, this is awesome.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Like I've literally never heard a coach basically say like
I'm trying to remove the margin of error either from unluckiness,
from human mistake, or just from the sheer fact of players,
you know, making some mistakes by just trying to constantly
blow teams out. And so we'll see how it plays
(07:22):
out and maybe have to be playing itself out in
the ACC as opposed to the PAC twelve after this year.
But the truth is he's got a really optimistic, refreshing
way of looking at things, and I'm kind of excited
to see.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
Like where it goes for Stanford. But look, they don't
really have a.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Choice either, you know, when you're all this is happening
in college sports, you just.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Want to be part of the party.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
And that's what part of this is about at this point,
is for Stanford, for cal for even Washington State, who
I feel bad because they're not even part of.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Any of the discussions.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
At this point, you won all those student athletes and
those schools to be a part of of whatever this
realignment turns into. Even though they'll be leaving behind the
PAC twelve. And look, I understand there's a lot of
PAC twelve people out there who went to school back
when I was the PAC ten or you know, however
you want to define the conference.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
But you know, we're moving on, like everyone's got to
move on from that.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
And due to poor leadership and probably lack of accountability
or responsibility for a lot of the poor decisions or
lack of decisions made.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
That's where you got to this point.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
So you know, you don't really have anyone to blame
but the leaders that are all involved, and at some
point you just got to move on to whatever the
next thing is.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
It just feels like the last couple of years, when
you hear a coach talk, it's always something about NIL
and the problems with NIL or something about conference realignment
or something about somebody's getting this or recruitment or something
like that. And this guy goes, listen, man, we used
to travel in covered wagons. We're grateful to hop on
(08:58):
a plane and go anywhere to play football. It's like, okay,
just straight straight to the to the bottom line.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
I think it's actually the opportunity k comedy skip.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
By the way, I'm not sure if it was Lewis
DK or someone else, but essentially talked about the miracle
of airline air travel. Yeah, it takes you thirty years
to get across across in the organ trail or back
in like a wagon, and your lives will be entirely different.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
You lost some family members, et cetera.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
Well, I mean you're just you're you're dealing with the elements.
Like what about if you're riding on horseback, you're dealing
with the elements. Your weathered, you smell like you've got
to deal with all the other crap that comes along
with it. And nowadays people complain if they've only got
peanuts and not pretzels on a flight. You know, it's which,
by the way, do you go pretzels or peanuts on
(09:47):
a flight? What do you go with?
Speaker 2 (09:49):
I do neither? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (09:50):
Yeah, yeah, me neither. I was just asking for a friend, Okay, cool,
Just maybe just trying to trying to see. Now, now,
let's get to what we've known college football to be
in a lot of parts, the negative aspect of college football.
So apparently Northwesterns had a little bit of an issue
in their locker room. You know, that's been a story
that's been out there hazing all the other stuff that
(10:12):
came along with it. As that story came out over
the past several weeks, and athletic director Derek Gragg had
to speak about just sort of the tone def T
shirts that were worn by assistant coaches in the first
practice as they get ready for the season. These T
(10:32):
shirts had Northwestern against the World. They had a number
fifty one on it for their former head coach Fitzgerald.
Pat Fitzgerald, who played and was a multiple time All
Pro or not All Pro, but he was a multiple
time first team All American defensive player for Northwestern, and
(10:53):
he was the guy who was fired and considered to
be sort of in the know on all these things
that had gone on in Northwestern. And so now you've
got assistants wearing this, You've got this picture floated out
there on July twenty seventh, where it's not the first
time you had a player showing support for Pat Fitzgerald
and wearing one of these shirts. It just feels like
(11:16):
maybe they didn't handle the punishments or maybe handle the
cleaning up of this process. And I don't know if
they just didn't have time because they didn't have time
to put together a full staff and replace everybody. But
it feels like not everybody's on the same page at
Northwestern again with a season right around the corner there
for the Wildcats.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
Yeah, so just a piece of this whole thing together
so everyone gets a full picture of what's happened. There
was a T shirt worn that said Cats against the
World and it had the number fifty one on them,
and players as well as coaches have kind of warned
them over the past what's today, August ninth, they've they've
worn them over the past few weeks. Yeah, and there's
(11:58):
this photo circulated to a point where and it was
an older photo which lends me to.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
This next point.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
But with the athletic director of Northwestern has to come
out and make a statement not condoning the shirts and
you know them being tone deaf and all the other
pr statements that you make about it. But their shirts
were designed by people who obviously were in support of
Pat Fitzgerald and.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
His defense of what he's being accused of.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
That he was, you know, allegedly knew of what was
going on with the hazing, etc.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
And obviously now.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
No longer is a part of the or you know,
a part of the university. And so there was coaches
and players who feel like that's bs and they wanted
to show support for Pat Fitzgerald in that way. And
here's here's the reality of the situation is all we
know at this point, at least on the outside, is
that these are allegations. We don't I don't know for
(12:55):
a fact of any of it. Do you know for
a fact of anything that occurred?
Speaker 2 (13:00):
I know.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
All we have at this point is comments that were
made by former players here and former players on both sides,
and most this stuff didn't happen. You had about what
ten to fifteen that said something did happen that cross lines.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
And so all we have at this.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
Point is disgrinlement from a ten or fifteen players that
goes against what's being said about other players and coaches
on the other side of it.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
Okay, so that's all we have on the outside.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
And yet because they're so concerned about the public perception
of hazing and the culture there at Northwestern, they've got
to naturally respond to it. When we don't, like, no
one really knows the facts of it. People want to
act like everything some of these the allegations that were
made were factual.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
We don't know that. We weren't there, We weren't a
part of it.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
And even though it's damning, in the event that if
it is true, I don't know that we should presume
that Pat Fitzgerald and all parties involved in the players
and coaches were all aware of it and guilty.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
Of it like that.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
They'll come a time when all that sorts itself out.
But it brings up the light two things. The first
is the athletic director obviously just now responded to it.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Yeah, this is a week's old photo.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
So clearly, not only from the fact of whatever Pat
Fitzgerald's been accused of, if he's been accused of that
because he was supposed to have the oversight and the
knowledge of what was happening in the locker room, should
the athletic director too, Why is he still a part
of the Northwestern program? That's the first question I have.
The next is, and you said it like there wasn't
(14:36):
gonna be enough time for them to move on from
the entire coaching staff, the interim head coach to it.
It's kind of just got there, So it's not like
he's been a part of this program for a while.
But if you did feel like what they did was
true and so agregious that you needed to move on,
you'd move on from everyone. He would just move on
from the head coach and say, okay, slap a band
aid on this, let's.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
Just push through the season.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
But that was the position they're in because they wouldn't
have a football season that was the case. So the
Northwesterns found themselves in this mess, and.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
Unfortunately, like they've they've got to respond.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
To stuff like this when players who still might support
fits Heeral, who might you know, think this is BS,
want to you know, want to utilize their first a memory.
They have every opportunity to want to support their former
head coach if they want to.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
That's their right.
Speaker 1 (15:24):
They might feel like it's all BS and how this
is impacting their college career and how it's impacting their
you know, athletic career, and how it ends. So there's
there's that aspect of it, and I think there's another
aspect of it where you say, well, okay, but at
this point, like like what is the matter of the
season starting, They're trying to turn a new leaf, Like
if we keep going back and rehashing all of this.
(15:44):
Maybe maybe Northwestern will They're never going to be able
to get past this at some point.
Speaker 4 (15:50):
And one of the things that happened when the Minnesota
claims came out against you know, DJ Flack and the
program and all that stuff, is that you had play
both current and past who came out and spoke out
in support of him and just the impact he had
on them as human beings and all that. There are
people that are going to support you. It feels like
(16:11):
Pat Fitzgerald, and again, we don't know everything that happened,
but so far he's the lone fall guy because he's
the only one that lost his job and it's got
his name written all over it. But to your point,
also the athletic director who speaks out they're wearing these
T shirts at practice on Wednesday. There's a photo that
comes out on July twenty seventh. Dude, I would assume
(16:33):
if this scandal is as big of a scandal as
everybody has made it out to be, and you're that
concerned about it and how the program looks, that a
you would have gotten ahead of it and asked about
the picture that was out on July twenty seventh, and
you would have just been aware, like I would assume
you'd have everything buttoned up on your end to make
sure nothing else came out to look make our program
(16:55):
look any worse than it did. And instead he's just
reacting to something that happened on Wednesday, and everyone's like, hey,
what about the picture from a couple of weeks ago?
Oh yeah, that too. It's like, why don't you know
that if you're the athletic director, why aren't you privy
to that information? Or why isn't somebody that works underneath
you letting you know. Hey, just so you know, this
is out there and there's a player and an assistant
(17:16):
coach involved on this picture that floated out on July
twenty seventh on social media. I don't know, man, the
whole thing's a disaster, Like it just feels like, and
there's probably a lot of people that had nothing to
do with any of the claims, who just want to
play football and get ready for a season, and this
has derailed all that's.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
Well, the coach's careers who are part of it, their families. Obviously,
we are impacted, you know, by as they'll probably be
selling their house looking for a new place to go,
coach and live after this year, the players who are
involved clearly at impacts not only their ability to have
the sort of success they're hoping for, but even more
so than that, just their overall experience and how it
(17:55):
comes to an end. I mean, again, I'm biased the
sense of from all the times out been around Pat Fitzgerald,
and I've said this to people, he would have been
the type of coach that if I was being recruited
when I was coming out, I would have heavily weighed Northwestern,
obviously for the academics, but also for him because of
(18:15):
the type of leader he was. From every conversation we
had talking about ball, talking about you know, developing young people.
I mean, you would have never ever felt like these
allegations were true if you had the opportunity to spend
some time around Pat Fitzgerald. And if they were true,
it was something that was completely hidden away from him because.
Speaker 2 (18:38):
The people who were are the players who were.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
Implementing this or creating this, didn't want their head coach
to know because they know they'd get kicked off the team,
they know they'd get in trouble with him, and so
that's the Pat Fitzgerald that I know, and that's why
it's so hard for me to sit here and listen
to all of this, because he's the type of guy
that would never stand for some of the allegations and
stuff they're talking about.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
And what I know from my.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
Experience as a player, being in the NFL and being in.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Colleges and especially college, if you wanted to.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
Find five to six, seven, eight, nine, ten guys who
are just scruddled, who would fabricate things or make things up,
or even stretch the truth of things just so they
could get attention or just so they could get back
on someone on any given year, you could find that.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
You could find guys who didn't want to work hard.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
You could find guys who didn't like the culture they
signed up for, and they didn't like the reality of
how much tougher things were and being away from mom
and dad and trying to adapt to college life where
you're on your own and things are harder, you have
more responsibility. You could find that every single year that
came in in that freshman class or that eventually went
(19:53):
up the ranks and they're like, well, I don't want
to quick because I want a scholarship I want to
get my.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Degree from here.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
You could find that we had guys like that, and
the coaches would do their best to push them and see, hey,
all right, let's see, let's see how far we can
take this, to see if these guys want to be
a part of this or if they're just going to quit,
because a lot of them will kind of drag things down,
and you could tell they wanted to quit, but they wanted.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
The degree, they wanted the free education. That's always the case.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
And so in my mind, I listened to all that
and I go, yeah, it's not far removed from some
people who probably wanted to get back at a head
coach that wanted to push them, that was trying to
help develop it in a way that was probably difficult
and hard on them. And instead now they stretch the
truth of hazing or whatever the culture was created.
Speaker 4 (20:36):
And also to your point on Pat Fitzgerald's reputation, the
last two times the Bears have been hiring a head coach,
people in Chicago wanted Pat Fitzgerald to get a look
like they loved him, like people love him in that city.
And so just to see where this whole thing has had,
it's unfortunate and now we wait to see again season
a couple of weeks away, Northwestern as well as others
(20:57):
trying to get ready for their first game of the
season at Rutgers, and this whole thing is just continuing
on there in Illinois. It is two pros and a

go to the news tesk. What God, No, here's Jonas

I have headlines. They're either actual headlines or they're lies.
I'm gonna read my headline or lie to Brady's partner,
He's going to do the same to me. And if
we're tied at the end of this list, we go
(22:49):
to a sudden death overtime tie breaking question, so we
will have that for you if we get to that point.
But let's first meet our participants. Let's go all the
way to Ohio where Thomas is listening here on Fox
Sports Radio. Thomas, what's happening, hey, brother?
Speaker 2 (23:07):
Just run you play this? Let's get it going, all right,
my partner, and.
Speaker 4 (23:12):
That's all right, let's go Tom very efficient. Here is Thomas? Now, Thomas,
where in Ohio? Are you ill?
Speaker 2 (23:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (23:21):
Nice?
Speaker 4 (23:22):
There it is so Thomas and Cincinnati. All right, So
that means that I go with Chris, who's listening here
in Iowa? Chris, what's happening.
Speaker 7 (23:32):
You guys?
Speaker 4 (23:33):
I mean we're good, Chris. Are you ready to go?
Speaker 7 (23:35):
Or what?
Speaker 6 (23:35):
Man?
Speaker 4 (23:36):
You're stuck with me? Because Thomas already claimed Brady Quinn.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
Thomas is ready to go. Chris.
Speaker 8 (23:41):
That is perfectly fine with me.
Speaker 4 (23:43):
All right, good, So let's get it done.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
All right.
Speaker 4 (23:45):
Now, I know you guys are degenerate gamblers in Iowa,
so hopefully we can provide some support for anybody that
is betting on us to win this edition. Now again,
here's how it works. We've got headlines here, I will
start reading mine to Brady's partner. We'll take turns, and
again if we are tied, we've got a tiebreaker at
the end of this whole thing. So here we go.
Let's get it started Thomas and Ohio Brady Quinn's partner
(24:06):
here on Headliner Lie, Headliner Lie. A local Baltimore radio
host said that the punishment of broadcaster Kevin Brown is
the most embarrassing thing since the organization has done, since
they lied about a power outage to protect cal Ripken
Junior's consecutive game streets.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
Oh that's a lie, that is I mean, is that
the longest headline in the history of headlines?
Speaker 2 (24:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (24:32):
I kind of ran out of breath there.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
Yeah, all right, God that was the first paragraph.
Speaker 4 (24:36):
Rusty. We haven't done in four or five months? What
do you want to now?
Speaker 2 (24:38):
You know something about that? All right? Chris, here we
go headline or lie.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
Florida man found naked cuddling a dead shark on Fort
Lauderdale Beach.
Speaker 8 (24:52):
Oh that's the headline.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
Come on, Chris, at least not today. It could beat tomorrow. Chris,
Not today. It's not this week.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
It's not.
Speaker 4 (25:13):
Yeah, all right, So here we go headline or Lie
for Thomas Brady Quinn's partner in Ohio, Thomas Headline or Lie.
A charity golf tournament in Doublin, Ohio this weekend will
feature a beer pong tournament hosted by O. J. Simpson
and Doctor Fauci A lie, how do you know that's
a lie?
Speaker 2 (25:33):
Doubling quin, I just I'm not even gonna touch that.
What are you going to touch that? I'm very disappointed
in you.
Speaker 4 (25:42):
What are you talking about?
Speaker 2 (25:43):
Very disappointing you. Here we go, Chris, all right, let's
get back into this thing. Man.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
Headline or lie, A Florida mayor finds one million dollars
in cocaine while fishing.
Speaker 9 (26:00):
The luve.
Speaker 8 (26:00):
Thing goes the right way the first time.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
That's a lie.
Speaker 4 (26:04):
Oh my god, we're getting blown out.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
Yeah, that's a that's a real story, my friend.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
This is like an Ohio It's like an Ohio state.
Speaker 3 (26:11):
Ioways.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
It does beg the question like was she looking for
the cocaine? Had she just quote unquote had to find it?
Speaker 4 (26:19):
By the way. I saw that story, and I thought
that's a little suspect.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
Yeah, what kind of bait was she used to find
the cocaine? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (26:26):
I'm saying her nose, Yeah, that's what she was doing.
All right. So here we go A headliner lie, A
two nothing lead for Thomas and Brady. So Thomas, here
we go a headliner lie. When asked about his team
being valued at over nine billion dollars, Cowboys owner Jerry
Jones said quote, it'd be worth a hell of a
lot more had I not gotten enough plastic surgery to
(26:47):
build a Tupperware castle.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
Oh come on, jon a lie.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
I just had someone text me and this segment needs
to be called paragraph a lie because of how long
your headlines are.
Speaker 4 (27:01):
Jonas, all right, why you tell the wagon that stop
harassing the show?
Speaker 2 (27:06):
Okay, I'm just saying, all right, here we go, Chris,
let's get back on track. Man, Come on, all right,
I don't go headline or lie.
Speaker 1 (27:15):
President Joe Biden has fallen while attempting to board Air
Force one.
Speaker 8 (27:22):
Say that again.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
President Joe Biden has fallen again while attempting.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
To board Air Force one.
Speaker 6 (27:31):
Headline.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
Come on, man, I mean we haven't seen it this
past week. Again. It could be tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (27:42):
It could man, these are just this We're getting screwed here.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
All right.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
So it's a three nothing lead, So basically, is it
already over? Yes, it's over? So I mean, so what
do we do? We're just gonna claim it? Or do
we have one more we want to throw out here?
Speaker 1 (28:00):
Definitely, let's throw out your best one just to we
can cap this thing off.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
All right, So here we go. The game is over
all right for Thomas and Ohio headliner Lie. On the
heels of their gambling scandal in college football, a local
bar in Iowa City has installed video poker over their urinals.
Speaker 3 (28:22):
That's a lie.
Speaker 4 (28:23):
You are good, Thomas, you are very good.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
You are all right, Chris, Chris, let me give you
one more, Come on, give you one more.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
Here we go, headliner lie here Chris.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
OJ Simpson believes the punishment for former NFL wide receiver
Henry Ruggs is too light, claiming the math doesn't add up.
Speaker 8 (28:46):
That's a lie.
Speaker 4 (28:48):
Oh my gosh, all right, thank you, Chris.
Speaker 2 (28:51):
Appreciate Oj actually waiting on Ruggs this situation.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
Yes, yeah, all right. So for those of you that
were wondering, what's this year's Ohio State Iowa game going
to look like? Hopefully that right there. So congratulations to
Thomas and Brak go.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
Thomas representing the dominated. Is that a preview of Cincinnati?
May maybe the Bengals this year. Maybe it's their year.
Speaker 4 (29:15):
When Super Bowl I was gonna say, Lee, has anybody
ever been shut out like that. In the history of
the game. I don't think there has been ever a shutout.
That was the worst beat down I've ever seen.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
Wow, Well, that usually happens though a Jonas As.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
We've tried to I know we haven't played it very often,
but Jonas typically doesn't do over the well in these games.
Speaker 4 (29:32):
Well, I think that one of those.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
I'm a little bit paragrapher live.
Speaker 4 (29:36):
I'm a little I'm a little suspect on one of those.
I feel like, I, you know, we got it right,
but you.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
Know, are you talking about the Joe Biden one?
Speaker 4 (29:43):
No, I think that. I think you guys got one
wrong and you were given credit for getting it right.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
That's which one was that.
Speaker 4 (29:50):
Well, that charity golf tournament in Dublin, Ohio. That's having
that beer pong tournament hosted by OJ Simpson and doctor Fauci.
I feel like that will be a headline.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
I've looked in the news. I have not seen that anywhere.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
Yeah, I mean, we're having a charity event Monday and
then also Sunday.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
Are you not having either of those individuals at our
at our outing?
Speaker 3 (30:08):
Are you really?
Speaker 2 (30:08):
I didn't know that. Yeah, that's this weekend that's this weekend.
Speaker 4 (30:11):
Yeah you don't say yeah, someone's.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
Gonna wear salmon colored pants and offer. I also, I
also paid for the actors from Superman. You know, the villains,
right Yeah, yeah, Upper Azad or whatever. Yeah, they're gonna
be there as well, standing in the corner looking creepy,
not participating in the beer pong event, just looking like
(30:36):
basically what you would do if.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
You were there.
Speaker 4 (30:37):
I mean, listen. Maybe they'll be dining on some roosters,
boneless chicken wings and just trying to enjoy some quiet time.
That could be the case. It is two pros and
a cup of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio. But
right now it is time for the progressive play today.
Speaker 9 (30:51):
The three to two pitch swinging a high fly ball
center field, coming in his row house.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
He's calling he has got it. Ye.
Speaker 9 (31:00):
Lorenzen leaps into the arms of Realmuto and the Phillies pile.
Speaker 4 (31:04):
Out of the knockout in front of the mound.
Speaker 9 (31:07):
They celebrate a no hitter tonight by Michael Lorenzen in
his second start as a Philly, A no hitter over
the Washington National seven and nothing tonight.

Rose in a Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio, Brady Quinn,

player in the NFL that is getting rave reviews, and
there's an opportunity for you to make money because of
those rave reviews. We'll get into that for you again

Speaker 2 (33:43):
Did you see the clip that went viral?
Speaker 4 (33:45):
Yeah, I mean, look, the offensive line had a bad day.
Speaker 2 (33:48):
Yeah, I don't reper too.
Speaker 4 (33:50):
Yeah, I don't know that that necessarily means that we
should just go ahead and you know, put to in
an ambulance and just roll them out out of the facility.
Speaker 2 (33:59):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (34:01):
Well, and also he did take judo lessons.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
It was a judo or jiu jitsu, Like, is is
he learning how to fall or learning how to submit someone?
Speaker 4 (34:09):
I would I would like some clarity because jiu jitsu
doesn't feel like it would be applicable for an NFL quarterback.
Judo though, Yeah, working out like rows and tosses strength. Yeah,
So that's why I feel like that was sort of
lost in translation from Mike McDaniel, who tried to explain
the whole thing. But then you've got this story about
Joe Burrow at a Cincinnati So he was on the
(34:30):
sideline yesterday sort of watching practice and hanging out. But
his coach, Zach Taylor still says it will be several weeks.
It's going to be several weeks. So he's got this
calf strain that he's been dealing with, and apparently, uh,
we're not any closer to him coming back, if you
believe Zach Taylor. There's some speculation. I know Jamar Chase
(34:53):
was saying, I don't want him. We just need him
back by week five. Take your time, don't rush it
all that. I don't know that the bank would like
to go the first month and change of the season
without their starting quarterback and franchise quarterback. But it does
feel like maybe this, uh, you know, this injury was
a little bit more serious. It looked serious at the time,
but maybe a little bit more serious than we initially
(35:15):
thought when the strain was applied to it. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (35:18):
Look, I've never had big enough calves to ever hurt
one of my calves as a quarterback. The only thing
I've I've dealt with is honestly foot issues. But as
far as the achilles, like my right achilles used to
always get I don't know if you want to call it,
you know, tendonitis, it's the achilles tendon, but it get inflamed.
(35:38):
It would get irritated at times because you'd be dropping
back so much, and as a right handed quarterback, you're
pushing off that back right leg to step up in
the pocket to push the throw to kind of move
or navigate. And there was times when like it would
get super tight, super sore, almost felt like, you know,
a certain days you'd go.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
Man, I hope this thing doesn't pop on me.
Speaker 1 (35:59):
And I'm not trying to attribute what I experienced as
a quarterback to what he's dealing with. But I do
wonder because the injury first looked like an Achilles type injury.
Speaker 2 (36:10):
Yeah, now he had the calf sleeve on. They're saying
it's a calf strain.
Speaker 1 (36:15):
Maybe they're just wanting to make sure it's one hundred
percent he has no issues whatsoever before he comes back
so he doesn't reaggravate it and then they lose.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
Him for a portion of the season. That's the last
thing you want for a team that is a playoff bound.
Speaker 1 (36:30):
Teams has been to a super Bowl with him, you
know he's capable of it, right, So they're probably just
being cautious with it, but something too based on how
the injury looked and depending on how long he's out,
I wonder if there's a little more to what exactly
the injury is, and maybe they're trying to keep some
of that under reps because it's the start of the
(36:51):
season and they don't want to potentially have to deal
with you know, not you know, having him out there
for a period of time or really just not letting
teams know the severity of the end.
Speaker 4 (37:00):
He's had something come up injury wise, every single year
he's been in the NFL, something's come up. Like it's
kind of it just and I don't know if yeah.
Speaker 2 (37:10):
But it's all kind of worked out, you know.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
I mean, he's he might have gotten injured like this
time of year or even the spring, but he eventually
ends up, you know, getting on the field and bawling out.
Speaker 4 (37:20):
But I mean, you know, maybe it would he'd be
inclined to get a deal done, you know, sooner rather
than later, you know, so if in case something else
pops up, he doesn't lose out on a whole bunch
of money. Just think of financials here that he borrow. Yeah,
headliner lie.
