Speaker 2 (01:09):
What did they put what they did?
Speaker 1 (01:12):
A mean with Dwayne Wade's statue face on the head.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
Hey, Brady, you think they're going to change that statue?
They got to change that city likes it. He was
a part of the process.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
I don't know, man, that doesn't Wayne Wade.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
I mean everything, but the guy's face that's on it
is awesome.
Speaker 5 (01:34):
That just doesn't look like Dwayne Wade.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
What's the face?
Speaker 6 (01:37):
Like, what was the man thinking?
Speaker 1 (01:39):
What he made the Hey, what was going through that
mind body when he made the face?
Speaker 5 (01:47):
Maybe we should get like a sculptor or someone on.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
It's got to be a lot more difficult to do
the face than people realize, because this isn't the first
one we've.
Speaker 5 (01:55):
Looked at and done.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
Like, Eh, doesn't really look like Dwayne Wade. Which, by
the way, thank you to the Internet for doing what
you do. Like all of a sudden, there's photos popping
up with the face off the sculptor on, like Dwayne
Wade's wedding photos with the Gabriel Union, like Dwayne Wade's
(02:16):
face on, you know, that face on his body with
the famous Lebron James Dunk where like Dwayne Wade's kind
of that That thing is traveled so far on the
internet right now and it's making its waves. So congratulations
to the Internet for doing what you rightfully should should
with a face that's definitely not Dwayne Wade's.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
So it's brutal, but like the Pro Football Hall of Fame,
I feel like those, there's not like an egregious miss
on those, like there might be well, you know, it's
not quite this or something, but there's not an egregious
miss like in other places. And I don't know if
it's because they're doing it cheaper that one, the Ronaldo one,
like there's been some other statues that just been brutal
(03:01):
and this one doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
So to Renodo one.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
And they compared it to the troll like they put
the ogre or whatever off of Trolls the movie, Like,
hey man, the way Wade's face on that statue takes
the t I mean, it takes.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
The first place trophy. There's no getting around it.
Speaker 7 (03:26):
What is it?
Speaker 2 (03:27):
What is it? I don't know. I'm trying to figure out.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
I looked at it from so many different angles to
try to find a way for it to look normal.
Speaker 6 (03:40):
I could find.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
It, shouts out the Spice Adams.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
He did a scene from.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
I'm Gonna Get Your Sucker where he was popping the
blood blitter and he screamed. He put the way Waite's
statue face on it.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
When he screamed when he was popping the.
Speaker 6 (04:02):
It's just terrible.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
There's no way when he looked at it, there's no
way he looked at that and the pictures it that's.
Speaker 6 (04:11):
The Wayne way.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
There's no way.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
How do you make a bronze how do you make
a bronze statue look purple?
Speaker 2 (04:23):
Looks like he's taking a crap. It don't even look bronze.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
There's an extreme amount of concentration frustration on his face.
Speaker 5 (04:33):
Not sure what, but yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
It doesn't look bronze.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
It's like, you know, it's like a fat baby crying
like it doesn't look anything like him.
Speaker 6 (04:43):
At all, a fat baby.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
It does.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
It doesn't look anything like him. And for some reason
that was yeah, we'll just roll with this and we'll
do the big unveiled It's like, no, like, why do
you get some second opinions on this, like pull some
other people in and be like, hey man, not great,
like let's redo this thing. Oh hey, Nickel and Dime
all the way.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
He said, they said.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
He he acknowledged the fact that he was a part
of every part of the process of making that trophy.
Yeah okay, and said you know what said you said
you can kick rocks if you don't like it.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
He's got a statue and you don't.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
So take that, take that, Take that they bust have
had baby, or that that diddy o your ome.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
And was making that stuff.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Jeez, they wasn't had that, They wasn't had that pizza
in the in the control room.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Did you guys?
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Did you guys see what Jason Whitlock tweeted about Doc Rivers? So,
oh my god, So dog Rivers like put out because
you know, like there's all these like you're just getting
inundated with campaign commercials and election commercials and all this
stuff on TV. And I guess there was one that
was like of Doc Rivers, like he's like trying to
(06:08):
coach up people on how to vote or something like that,
or how to vote for Kamala Harris or I forget,
like something along those lines. And Chase Whitlock quote retweeted
it and said, docs on those Diddy tapes? What are
we doing here? Like literally just doing a commercial. And
Jason Whitlock just sowed him off on social media. So
(06:33):
it's a wild time, man, if you get on social media,
all sorts of stuff is flying right now.
Speaker 4 (06:39):
It is interesting, Like as soon as people dip into
the political world, like people automatically start to hate them,
Like Tony Hinchcliffe wasn't hated until he stepped on front
of the stage for one candidate. Now like people are
like hating left and right. It's like cheez, Like we
just get past the election, just go back to having fun.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
And by the way, possible if you're familiar with Tony
h cliffs work par for the course, like kind of
how he operates.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
You know, nobody's safe.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
So now we're going to find out whether or not
Bryce Young is safe in Carolina, whether he's going to
get the starting not again. Andy Dalton dealing with a
badly sprained thumb for the Carolina Panthers. So Dave Canalis,
the head coach of the Carolina Panthers, spoke about the
process the decision making when it comes to who's going
(07:27):
to be the start and moving forward for the Panthers.
Speaker 8 (07:29):
It's going to be a couple of days. These are
really important days. The next few, you know, really getting
all the way out there to Wednesday to place some
live snaps and to do that. So I'll give you
guys more information about that. But we really have to
look at you know, Andy where he's at and in
the next couple of days to make a sound decision.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
So apparently Bryce Young, if Andy Dalton's good to go,
he's good to go.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
Bench.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
Yeah, back to the bench for Bryce Young in the
Carolina Panthers.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
I mean, this season hasn't left the bench, so who doesn't.
What does it matter what quarterback you have in there?
Speaker 5 (08:03):
Right?
Speaker 1 (08:04):
I mean, if he feels as though Andy Dalton gives
them a better chance to win, God bless. I mean,
they're all fighting for how they're gonna lose, not how
not for wins. I mean, Dalton gave them a tad
bit of hope, a glimmer of hope, but that was
short lived. I just you know, I don't know. I mean, Q,
(08:24):
you can probably weigh in on it more intelligently than
I can on this one. But I just don't feel
like I think we found out with the way Andy
Dalton played before his his thumb injury off field, non
football related injury, that this is not a Bryce Young
or Andy Dolton Adulton problem. This is a Carolina Panthers
(08:48):
problem that they're they're fighting through.
Speaker 4 (08:51):
Yeah, the roster's just not there. It doesn't matter who's
at the quarterback position. I mean they were banged up
a wide receiver last week anyway, So it's it seems
like a nough battle. And it's tough to be in
a position where you're the quarterback of a team that
you're looking around to you going every single week, we've
got to play at our absolute best just to have
a chance of winning. And as much as we'd like
(09:12):
to preach parody in the NFL, it's not always the case.
And this is an organization that has been at the
bottom now for a period of time. I mean, probably
begging for the days of matt rule to come back.
Given what Maverruel at least provided them, which was some competitiveness.
What was he like fired after what seven to ten?
Is that what he was?
Speaker 5 (09:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (09:32):
I think so.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
I mean at least had a couple of seven seasons.
So you look back at that and say, there's probably
a lot more of a foundation stability, and you moved
on from Frank Reich after one year. Now you look
at Dave Canalis, who's a first time head coach. You've
got to give him time, have some patience with him.
Even though this year feels like they're I mean they lacks.
They lack competitiveness in every fashion and form. I mean
(09:56):
there it would be competitive just for them to have
a one score game, like just to keep it, try
to keep it within one score of their opponent.
Speaker 5 (10:04):
Like that's where we're at this point.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
So it is a decimated roster, terrible situation, and it's
going to take time to build this thing back up.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
Matt Rule was actually eleven and twenty seven in his
time in Carolina.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
I thought it was better than that.
Speaker 5 (10:20):
I thought he had he had one.
Speaker 4 (10:22):
Well that's overall, but at one of the seasons I
thought he won seven games, and it was his first season.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
He was five and eleven and twenty twenty five and
twelve one, and then he was one. They'd beg for
five minutes right now, one hundred percent.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
They beg for one win.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
Like I'll tell you what if the code next coach,
he gets five wins in Carolina, he's getting a statue.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Do you think that? Uh?
Speaker 3 (10:45):
Because there's some rumors that Deontay Johnson is going to
be on the trade block, that he's the guy to
watch that could get dealt. How many how many teammates
in Carolina are just going to be like, hey man, take.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
Me with you.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
I got to get the hell out of here. Like
this team sucks. I don't want to be We're not
gonna win. And it doesn't feel like this is a
quick fix either. This feels like this is a several
year problem that they're gonna have to go through. And
if you go back to the Matt rule, time didn't
wasn't Matt rule on the verge of being hired by
the Giants, and Carolina also wanted to hire him, and
(11:19):
that's why David Tepper gave him the seventh year r It.
Speaker 4 (11:23):
Was a better deal for him, which, mind you, I
mean again, I'm not sure if it worked out for
the Giants either way. I mean, we know this like
Ruscott is revenge. Last night, I thought between the two quarterbacks,
russ looked like the better quarterback, so he at least
proved that for the Giants who brought him in and
decided to pass.
Speaker 5 (11:41):
But Clowney is the player.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
That I think if you're looking at like a team
that's looking the trade, maybe the Lions straight for Jendevion
Clowney because they need the edge rush help and that
could be a position to keep an eye on.
Speaker 5 (11:54):
But It's just there's no hope.
Speaker 6 (11:56):
Man.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
I think that's the only upper conclusion that you can
come to. There is no hope. Like we're going to
assess and evaluate, Andy, don't then see where for what
you could go in there and play like you go
take the snaps, send somebody else out there, send a
(12:20):
running back, it doesn't matter. For what what are y'all
playing for? And how do you judge this season as
a success? That's a good one. How do you judge
success for this season? Q? If you are in Carolina?
You you Brady Quinn, how would you assess this season
(12:40):
and say.
Speaker 4 (12:40):
Just trying to win as many games as possible down
the stretch. You got one win, you're trying to whenever
he can, to rest the stretch if you can.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
But are there any wins in them losing continuously? And
I'm not even trying to be funny, I'm saying, are
there any wins to be grabbed or grasped from the
experiences they're going through and losing right now? No?
Speaker 4 (13:05):
Look, there's lessons in life, you know, for being real
about this. I mean, if you want to go here,
we'll be real about it. Like as bad as your
worst day is in the NFL, you are still being
paid handsomely to play a game for your job. So
even if you don't want to the game the rest
of the season, you are still an NFL athlete. You're
(13:28):
being paid extremely well to take care of your family,
and you're doing something that hopefully you love because there's
nothing better than playing the game of football in my mind,
So that that is the only thing you can resort
back to, is that you're blessed enough to be able
to still be in the NFL despite the fact that,
like it feels like maybe I don't know, it's not
(13:50):
working out too well.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
So geez, well, there you go. You can resort to
life life lessons if you're in Carolina.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
I feel bad for.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
The the people in Germany coming up in a couple
of weeks because they've got the Giants and the Panthers,
so that sucks.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
They don't know that, well, I guess, I guess.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
They're listening to our show. They don't they don't know
that they both suck. Take whatever you can get.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
From that, all right, So let's let's have a fun
little game here real quick.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Let's count how many wins.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
Are left Carolina Panthers schedule here the New Orleans Saints,
they could give them a win.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Do you think Carolina's beat New Orleans? They stink to
Derek Carr.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
Is gonna come back probably if he's okay, wellether, that's
a ale, Okay.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
The Giants in Munich, there's a shot.
Speaker 5 (14:41):
I mean, no one knows what happens overseas.
Speaker 6 (14:44):
You know, I think the Giants aren't that bad.
Speaker 5 (14:48):
The Giants will be favored.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
We know that Week eleven. Do you think Carolina could
beat their bye week?
Speaker 2 (14:54):
No?
Speaker 5 (14:54):
Okay, someone someone's gonna have an issue.
Speaker 6 (14:57):
That's going to be a push, all right.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
Then they've got Kansas City and Tampa Bay.
Speaker 5 (15:01):
At home nope, nope, nope.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
Nope, at Philadelphia nope, nope, home against the Cowboys, home against.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
The Cardinals, Nope, nope, nope, at the Bucks at the Falcons, Nope.
Speaker 5 (15:15):
That's a negative.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
All right. So we have spotted one wine, so possible spades,
possibly Giants.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
You gotta go bard if you got one in apositible.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
If you're if you're a Carolina Panther fan, important dates
for you. Week ten, againt the Giants in Germany and
the bye week, those could be two possible wins Silfairs
this season, so congratulations. Looks like three years.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
In a row they're going to have.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
Really sounded like a spade game like in your books,
Jesus Man, I got one and a possible. That's almost
you know, if you have no spades, you could throw
your deck in, you could throw your hand in and
they gotta read deal.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
I've never played spades. Yeah, well that'd be interesting if
I were the like Uker.
Speaker 4 (16:00):
You've played Uker, right, Jonas? I mean clearly if you
have roots back to the Midwest, you know you've played
Uka before. Who has played Ker? Yeah, no, he's never played.
He's no, he's never played because those people who play
spades is similar to Ker, and that's what they'd say, Well,
I've never played spades, but I've played Uker.
Speaker 6 (16:19):
He's trying to look it up.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
What are you talking about?
Speaker 5 (16:21):
That?
Speaker 4 (16:21):
That's how you know Jonas has no ties back to
the Midwest outside of some distant family and he goes
back to Chicago.
Speaker 5 (16:28):
Like once a year.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
This is like, are you trying to tell me that
I don't know what Yuker is?
Speaker 2 (16:32):
What it is?
Speaker 3 (16:37):
There's no like we don't have internet access. I mean,
it's a trick taking card game and it's commonly play.
What I mean, it's common that's taking cards. Listen, it's play.
People in Australia listening on the iHeartRadio app, Canada, Great Britain,
New Zealand.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
You know in the Midwest.
Speaker 3 (16:54):
You know where they're at now, Like, look, they're familiar
with what uker is.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
What you do?
Speaker 6 (17:00):
What do you mean how many players? You don't know that?
Speaker 4 (17:07):
Hey, can we get to the to the Jake Paul
Mike Tyson fight? Is that thing happening?
Speaker 2 (17:11):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (17:12):
Does anyone care at this point?
Speaker 1 (17:14):
Pleas in Jonas's air, trying to give him. We're off
the rail.
Speaker 5 (17:20):
I'm just glad leaves back at ball.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
Please in Jonas's air, trying to give him.
Speaker 7 (17:26):
Still, it's four players, two versus two, Jonas, Come on,
let's start there too. Two two two guys, two teams
to two people. It's four players, Jonas, let's start there.
Speaker 4 (17:40):
What you gotta you gotta know what Trump is not
to play the candidate Trump is the actual thing in
the card game.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
You do have trumps.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
Actually, on the Google Talk yesterday on the Google Talk,
dam I'm just seeing in real time Brady right is leaging.
Speaker 5 (18:02):
That's unbelievable, man, lead's back into it.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
Lee was excited to tell jonahs.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
To two teams four players.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Yeah, Lee, I didn't need your help. I know what
uker is.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
But we started off with spades too, like do you
know what spades are?
Speaker 2 (18:23):
Lead us?
Speaker 3 (18:23):
Okay, all right, all right, So coming up next here
we're going.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
Ah right, going, I have a read, very very appropriate
for this show.
Speaker 3 (18:36):
You're going to have another edition of the b Q
Top fifteen, and that's yours here on FSR.
Speaker 9 (18:43):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe here on Fox
Sports Radio. Coming up in about fifteen minutes from now,
we've got all of a sudden, a brand new quarterback
controversy in the NFL. Possibly we'll have that for you
here on FSR. But right now it is time for
this Who needs.
Speaker 9 (19:12):
The AP Top twenty five.
Speaker 5 (19:14):
I'm just seeing things that I never thought exist.
Speaker 9 (19:16):
When you've got the BQ Top fifteen.
Speaker 5 (19:18):
Right, that's right, and unfortunately lee to the music.
Speaker 4 (19:25):
Nope, not that, missy. This will be the last week
of the top fifteen as the college football playoff rankings
are coming out November fifth, a week from today. They'll
be out that night, so we'll review them on Wednesday.
We can talk about a little bit like what we're anticipating,
(19:47):
but we've got the real rankings coming out, so we
will go ahead and castdays aside.
Speaker 5 (19:53):
But for the final week, let's go ahead and get
into it. Last five out. We're gonna start off at
number twenty.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
Old Miss.
Speaker 5 (19:58):
Big win over Oklahoma to get back on track.
Speaker 4 (20:01):
Look, the biggest this year is they have two losses
and they got to play Georgia in two weeks, so
it seems like they got their work cut out for them.
What about LSU, another two loss team getting handled by
Texas and m They did beat Old Miss earlier this year,
so they stay one spot ahead.
Speaker 5 (20:15):
But I don't know, Brian Kelly, maybe notre name wasn't
the problem.
Speaker 4 (20:19):
Number eighteen SMU a huge one this week versus Pitt
in the ACC. I'm not sure anyone predicted both these
teams would be competing for a shot to win the
ACC title this year. Nevertheless, SMU At number eighteen, Kansas
State tight win over Kansas who struggled mightily this year.
That is a rivalry game, though, so we give them
the benefit of the doubt. I'd say it's an easy
(20:40):
path ahead, but every week is a bat on the
Big twelve. So we'll see if Kansas State can remain
unscathed until that big matchup for Siowa State at the
end of the season. At number sixteen, Boise Stayed a
huge win over UNLV on Friday night, maybe very well
be a preview to that rematch of the Mountain West
(21:01):
championship game. Austin genty went off one hundred and twenty
eight yards and a touchdown on that one, So he
looks like he's on his way to New York later
on this.
Speaker 5 (21:10):
Season, all right.
Speaker 4 (21:11):
Kicking off at number fifteen, Alabama, who drumed Mazoo thirty
four nil. Maszoo always felt a little bit fraudulent the
dealing with some injuries to in particular at the quarterback spot,
but Bama's defense that struggled this year stepped up in
a big way. At number fourteen, one of the better
stories in college football pit They handed Cal McCord one
(21:32):
of his worst performances of his career, and now these
seven to zero Panthers with a huge game up against SMU.
We talked about a moment ago this week and a
shot to eventually move on to play for the ACC Championship.
At number thirteen, Texas and m Marcel Reid came in,
which was a nice change up to Connor Wigman at quarterback,
who's been struggling at times. Form a big win over LSU.
(21:56):
This puts the Aggies squarely their playoff hopes in site
if they continue this trend. One spot ahead my notre
name fighting Irish ringing a number twelve a dominant win
over Navy. Now, should they be a top twenty five team,
We'll see by the end of the season. But that
being said, the Irish get the job done. The biggest
issue is going to be their strength of schedule. The
(22:18):
ANM wind looks great and better by the week, however,
that's really the only quality win they've got, and that
NIU loss looks worse and worse.
Speaker 5 (22:25):
That's a four and four team right now.
Speaker 4 (22:27):
Ringing at number eleven the undefeated BYU Cougars and they
were made undefeated after bludgeting UCF. I have no idea
what Vegas was doing with that line. They're just not
a buyer in this team, but I am Jake Retzlov
has been fantastic. They've got a bye week and the
Holy War waits for them on the other side. At
number ten, Tennessee coming out there bye week. They host
(22:48):
uk this week. Last time out, they knocked off Alabama.
Now this comes down to UT's ability to build up
to that gigantic matchup versus Georgia on November sixteenth. At
number nine in Iowa State, they're coming off there bye week.
They're hosting Texas Tech this week, who suffered a disappointing
loss to TCU.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
Otherwise, though this.
Speaker 4 (23:07):
One we could be discussing and discussing in a different fashion.
But don't sleep on Texas Tech all right. This would
be a tough matchup for Iowa State. They're also undefeated.
Can they remain unscathed through the rest of their Big
twelve schedule? At number eight Clemson, they're coming off thereby
before beating down UVA handily, the Tigers host Louisville.
Speaker 5 (23:26):
This is a much improved team.
Speaker 4 (23:27):
We wrote them off after Week one, that big time
loss to Georgia. Cade Klubnick's played phenomenal this year. Is
one of the best passes in the ACC. They deserve
some props. Ringing at number seven Indiana after the best
start in Indiana history. I'm sure that makes LeVar question
what the hell is going on in Bloomington. No one
knows because people thought that maybe Washington would give them
(23:48):
a bit of trouble last week. They're playing with a
backup quarterback in Tavan Jackson. No problems. They win by
two touchdowns. This team is for real. They had to
Michigan State this week and then two big boy games
back to back, Michigan then Ohio State. Could you imagine
them being undefeated head into that matchup in Columbus. At
number six, the Miami Hurricanes eight to no. No issue
(24:10):
with their in state rival FSU. Mario Cristobal made a
big time statement talking about the state of Miami's program
in comparison to the rest of the Florida schools. Not
quite the performance were a customs seeing out of camboard. However,
it was the other big name transfer they got this
year from Oregon State, Damian Martinez, picked up the Slack
fifteen rushes almost one hundred and fifty yards, two tudies
on the ground.
Speaker 5 (24:30):
Next up is Duke. Miami's been playing some things kind
of close.
Speaker 6 (24:34):
To the vest.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
Don't sleep on Duke and many Diaz in that defense,
creating some chaos, potentially knocking off Miami this week.
Speaker 5 (24:42):
Keep an eye on it.
Speaker 4 (24:43):
At number five, Texas, They've got that one loss. Yes,
it was a tough one to Georgia. However, they bounce
back this week beating a good Vanderbilt team and look,
that was a tight game. It speaks volumes about where
Vanderbilt's at and Clark Lee more so than saying that, oh,
Texas isn't quite who we thought they were. Quinn Eewers
played okay, couple of poor decisions, but the defense really
(25:05):
continued to shine through in that one. At number four,
the Ohio State University rebounded out from their loss to
Oregon a couple of weeks ago coming off of the buye. However,
it was not to the satisfaction of Buckeye Nation. The
offense struggled in the second half to come up with
over one hundred yards on offense. Look, they were a
(25:25):
twenty six point favorite. Something of that nature. The o
Lions banged up, They've they've potentially got their third left
tackle in there, and it might be their left guard
Donovan Jackson's playing and moving forward. A big area of
concern is Ohio State heads into the biggest game of
the season so far against the number three Penn State
Nitney Lions undefeated and got a nice one over Wisconsin
(25:47):
on the road. Now the question there Drew Aller, will
he be there for this week's matchup? If not, no concerns.
Bo Perbuolah came in, did a nice job running the offense.
To be quite honest, it may be a better fit
for Andy Nikky system there. But the true test comes
this week whether or not Penn State and James Franklin.
Speaker 5 (26:05):
Can get over the hump and get over Ohio State.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
At number two.
Speaker 4 (26:08):
Is Oregon at commanding win over Illinois no ranked opponents
left on their schedule until the Big Ten championship game.
The Ducks are flying high and at number one the
Georgia Bulldogs.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
I get it.
Speaker 4 (26:19):
People are gonna say, well, they've got a loss Oregon's undefeated. Look,
if they played one another tomorrow, Georgia would be favored.
I can promise you that they're coming off their buy
after drumming Texas two weeks ago. They've got Florida and
the largest cocktail party and a tough schedule head too.
They've got Old Miss and also Tennessee and consecutive week
So whether or not Georgia will remain number one will
be interesting to see. I'm sure the College Football Playoff
(26:41):
Committee would have organ ranked number one.
Speaker 5 (26:44):
Georgia is the best team in the country.
Speaker 4 (26:46):
That's your top fifteen the last and final of the season.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
Nice? Why very well? John? Okay, chew on that ap
whoa the Associated Press?
Speaker 6 (27:02):
Oh okay, that could be. You know, I want to
be clear on that.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
Sure ate that Hey, you know I was gonna say that.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
You know what, I'm happy for Mike Elko when he
got the job at Texas A and M there wasn't
a lot of people who were looking at it going yeah,
just Mike, really, we're going, Mike Elko, That's that's where
we're going. Now, Dude, there's seven to one, like Notre
Dame's the only loss, and they did they just keep
rattling off wins and considering where they came from and
(27:29):
the disaster that was Jimbo Fisher. I'm happy for the guy.
I'm happy for the program.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
I'll go as far as saying this, Texas and m
has maybe two of my favorite coaches and football and
men's basketball. I love Buzz Williams, I love Mike Elko.
I think they're both really good coaches. Like I don't
know if people there understand they're in a really good
position and moving forward for years to come, and so
(27:54):
hopefully they don't, you know, get frustrated by all of
this or whatever happens this season. But I think on
a path if you look at the rest of their
schedule to be a playoff team, and when it's all
said and done, you know, maybe it's a rematch versus
Notre Dame. Who knows how that first round is going
to play out. But they have a very clear path too,
as after losing, you know, everyone kind of wrote them off.
(28:15):
But now they're slowly starting to come back. It's been
defensive lead. But also Marcel Reed who came in, did
a nice change up, you know job, you know, running
the football, more impacting the game with his legs.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
Not her name is going to get in the college
football playoff.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
I think somebody call up that out before as well,
you know when's happening. When somebody else on the show
was panicing like, man, I don't know, I don't know if.
Speaker 6 (28:36):
The schedule is strong enough. I don't know.
Speaker 5 (28:38):
I was like, man, they're.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
Going to get in, Yeah, they're going they can't afford
to lose another one.
Speaker 5 (28:42):
Yeah, but they're not getting in. They're not two losses.
Speaker 6 (28:45):
I don't think they're going to lose another one.
Speaker 5 (28:47):
Yeah, well they shouldn't.
Speaker 4 (28:48):
I mean now at Florida State's awful. Southern col is
obviously not very good. I mean, Army is their next
toughest opponent.
Speaker 5 (28:57):
How many times do you say.
Speaker 6 (28:58):
Do they play them? Do they play them at home?
Or do they play down there?
Speaker 5 (29:01):
They always play It's a Yankee Stadium.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
It's a Yankee Stadium. Okay, then that there they should
be good. They should That's.
Speaker 4 (29:07):
That's part of the most fascinating part I've got for
like my alma mater, is how will their schedule be
viewed because they haven't really played outside of Texas and
m to start the season. And there's a few other examples,
like they're obviously playing Southern Cow out West in the Coliseum,
but like you know, Navy this past week they played
them in MetLife. It's not even like it's a home
(29:28):
field advantage. Really, Army They'll play in Yankee Stadium. Georgia
Tech they played in the Mercedes Benzone met Atlanta, So
not even like on campus, which I remember my senior
year we played there in a night game. It was rocking, man.
I mean those fans, I mean, it's not a big venue,
but they're all up on you. And it's for a
night game like that you get, you get a bunch
of people all tail game all day, especially in Atlanta,
(29:51):
like they were ready to go for that. So I'm
really curious to see how the playoff committee views not
like like two sides of it, right. Everyone looks at
strength strength to schedule because they want to compare the
teams that are undefeated, so like BYU and Oregon and
Penn State for example, which you know, if Penn State
(30:11):
wins this week, you know they're they're at a minimum.
I would think it'd be number two based on the
strength of schedule and all that. But the general point
is after you get from like strength to schedule for
the undefeated teams, you start to look at like the
one loss teams and go, okay, who they beat, like,
who's the toughest team they beat? And for the one
loss teams who they lose to, like it was that
(30:31):
one loss like a tough opponent, or was that one
loss team a foreign four NIU team Like a lot
of times they hold that against you. And even though
we shouldn't be necessarily measuring like who they lost to,
it matters because I think they're worried about setting a
team that could have that bad day. That makes the
committee look like they're, you know, didn't pick the best
twelve teams, which that is the one distinction I want
(30:54):
to make make sure everyone people know. It's not the
top twelve teams in the rankings.
Speaker 5 (30:58):
That's not what it's going to be. It is the five.
Speaker 4 (31:02):
Highest ranked conference champs. So like in the scenario that
I think I played out at some point in my notes,
is you would get in like today's hypothetical scenario if
Oregon won the Big Ten, Georgia won the SEC, Miami
and Iowa State because those are the highest ranked teams
in the A people and their conference, those four get
automatic bids. The fifth would be Boise State, if that
(31:28):
makes sense. They won the Mountain West. But they're ranked
fifteenth right now in they people, so everyone has this
misconception of the top twelve team.
Speaker 5 (31:35):
It's not the top twelve teams, that's not. Boise State
would then be a part of that, the ranked fifteenth.
Speaker 4 (31:39):
Right now, and Boise would be the fifth seed as
far as the seating goes, Yeah, I mean at a minimum,
they would. We know they host a playoff.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
Game, so they would it would be the five to
twelve matchup.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
But yeah, this is the biggest weekend for Oregon, by
the way. If they can go into ann Arbor and
win in the Big House, God bless, I can't wait.
What what an amazing What an amazing story that would
be that a PAC twelve team and its inaugural year.
Speaker 5 (32:14):
Basic Michigans falling apart.
Speaker 4 (32:17):
Yeah, but I mean it's I know what you're saying,
But like Jack Tuttele, the one quarterback just retired, he
medically retired. Yeah, they've gone back to the who started
the season with Davis Warren and Alex I mean, it's
a disaster on offense for them. I actually think they
might be dead last. I have to go back and
check the stats on it, but dead last for receiving yards.
(32:38):
I know for sure in the Big Ten by wide receivers,
but it might be nationally there. It's an atrocious offense.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
It's like for what it's worth, it's like all those
reasons are like you look at it and you say,
it's a Michigan team that'll find a way to at
least play a spoiler.
Speaker 5 (32:54):
As a fourteen and a half point underdog. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (32:57):
They're ranked one thirtieth all right, out of a undred
and thirty four teams. The only teams that are throwing
for less passing yards. Okay, Louisiana, Monroe, New Mexico State,
Air Force and Army.
Speaker 2 (33:09):
Yeah, I think I think it's a tough.
Speaker 4 (33:13):
Throwing for more yards. I was throwing for more yards
Kennesas State.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
I think it's going to be a tough road Northwest Oregon.
I think I think the way this because Maryland is
like one of them weird teams too, like they'll knock
you off. That's like I always say that about the
Big Ten. Wisconsin is one of those weird teams. They'll
knock you off. This past week, well, I mean they
were winning out halftime. I'm just saying That's what makes
(33:39):
the big ten to ten, if you ask me, is
that you can you can have all of those elements
in play, and then here they go and they'll come
out and they'll thump you. I would not be surprised
with all those things being said about Michigan if they
thump Oregon.
Speaker 6 (33:54):
In the big House. Sheesh.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
I'm just take that bet. If you're listening to me
out there and you're betting this, we take that bet.
Speaker 5 (34:02):
I would lay the fourteen and a half points.
Speaker 6 (34:04):
Take that bet.
Speaker 3 (34:05):

after we get off the air. Shane Steike and the
head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, he spoke yesterday, said
they are evaluating everything when it comes to the quarterback position.
(35:07):
This on the heels of Anthony Richardson subbing him out
of the game on Sunday. So I don't know if
this means this gives him his out to go to
Joe Flacco. But we could see a new quarterback there
and that was.
Speaker 5 (35:19):
Still wild man, no more thinking about that.
Speaker 3 (35:23):
And I think like they were like that was a
gold to got situation, wasn't it, LaVar.
Speaker 4 (35:28):
How would you feel if you saw your quarterback to
have himself out to come out of the game.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
Yeah, I would be confused, man. I just I'd just
be confused, like, what was it I was born in
the wrong decade, I guess. Thank you, yeah, thank it. Right,
they're all around us.
