The way tire bying me?
Speaker 3 (01:00):
That was aggressive. That was the hawk right there, a
little bit of recoil guns up from the studio. All right,
we play this game. By the way, Lee, did you
or did you not partake in any of the drinking
(01:21):
games that you threw out on the area yesterday for
the election.
Speaker 5 (01:25):
Yeah, I was got myself a little Evan Williams ready
to go.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
And all the texts when you said you were in
need of Evan Williams.
Speaker 6 (01:31):
So that was pretty interesting.
Speaker 4 (01:32):
What time did you start the games?
Speaker 5 (01:36):
What time did the poles close?
Speaker 6 (01:38):
You started, because East Coast they closed it like eight
or nine. Yeah, that was about six o'clock.
Speaker 5 (01:43):
The polls closed late. Yeah, I did start a little early.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
That's what I'm saying. When when did you start? What
was a little early?
Speaker 6 (01:50):
Yea, How does it work like if they if they
declare a state, like right away, do you start drinking?
Speaker 5 (01:55):
Then as soon as they started showing numbers for Kentucky.
Speaker 6 (02:01):
You're saying you are blaming Kentucky for you starting early,
because Kentucky just basically was like, yep, goes to Trump.
Here we go.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
Those are probably projections at eleven a m. And he's like, yeah,
that'll do.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
It's crazy is he said Tennessee was connected to the game,
not Kentucky. You had to ask him, well, what about Kentucky?
So maybe that on the front of mine, you know,
that's what it is. I had Parogi's creamed pogies yesterday
with Campbell's damn but they're pre made. No, no, just
(02:43):
you know Campbell's soup cream?
Speaker 3 (02:46):
You know?
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Oh, I say, I don't even know Campbell's made cream.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
Yeah, like, uh, mushroom soup type stuff?
Speaker 6 (02:55):
Got you?
Speaker 4 (02:55):
No kidding? Like A I feel awkward?
Speaker 5 (02:59):
Here me what mushroom chicken salary?
Speaker 4 (03:04):
Thank you?
Speaker 6 (03:04):
Thank you for some young guy.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
We have to dump that.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
Okay, we might have to dump that one. We might yeah,
we might have. Yeah, m it's a movie reference. Yeah,
I got you, I always got your back.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
My te is that way? Is that from Wayne's world?
Speaker 4 (03:25):
I don't know, but I think it is. That's what
we could do it.
Speaker 6 (03:28):
It's what he calls he's at a is a Cassandra's
apartment or whatever, and he calls ordered food.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
Well, the Parochi's were good, that's all.
Speaker 6 (03:40):
So so.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Q was a savage of course, great savage. Of course
people don't know that. They don't get past good looks
of it all. But that dude is a stone cold
sabbage bro.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
He sure is.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
But uh, you know I hate them. I'll never never
eat cream. Oh, never eat them again.
Speaker 6 (04:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (04:07):
Wait, what's that you had? Dr way to ruin his cream?
Brady jeez, f fried. They're fried. Damn it, they're frat.
Never again. Way to stand in the way of some
guys mushroom cream. Oh well, god forbid, look at you.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
At least you're showing your your range here. You know
you want toe to line too.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
Huh? What stupid?
Speaker 3 (04:35):
I mean? I'm just we're just having a discussion here.
So Lee, you started at what time?
Speaker 4 (04:41):
I don't know?
Speaker 6 (04:42):
What do you mean?
Speaker 3 (04:43):
You don't know?
Speaker 4 (04:45):
Are you hungover or still drunk? Right now?
Speaker 5 (04:48):
I'm feeling pretty good.
Speaker 6 (04:49):
Here's a lotter.
Speaker 5 (04:50):
Yeah, I got, I got, I got a good nap in.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
Wait a second, did you did you get tore up yesterday?
Speaker 4 (04:57):
Like more so than you thought?
Speaker 6 (04:59):
No?
Speaker 5 (05:00):
Well that he thought it started early and then I,
you know, I had to sleep it off.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
Like what time I had to stop?
Speaker 4 (05:06):
I had to stop?
Speaker 5 (05:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (05:07):
What time? I don't know?
Speaker 3 (05:09):
What do you mean?
Speaker 4 (05:10):
Okay?
Speaker 5 (05:10):
After I probably around four o'clock?
Speaker 6 (05:14):
Okay, can I give you the game Jonas likes to play? Yeah,
Jonas likes to play at the at what time did
you stop drinking? And then what were we doing at
that moment in time in our lives? That's the game
that that Jonas likes to play or start and we
go from there. So for example, you started yesterday at
what time Pacific time?
Speaker 4 (05:32):
I'll tell you what I was doing.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
You want to tell this we're going here, we go,
we need specific say what fo Yeah four Pacific time.
Speaker 6 (05:41):
Yeah, there's no an early start.
Speaker 4 (05:45):
Yeah, yeah, I slept. I mean that could be considered.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
No way you started earlier in that guaranteed tell the truthfully.
Speaker 5 (05:52):
Yes, I slept, slept, in went and uh went in
voted around dune.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
Okay, when and voted.
Speaker 5 (05:59):
I had some some work to do, and then I
and then I made my stop at the Prestige.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
Liquor four three, okay, three o'clock. I was dropping pin
off for dance Pinhead Pinhead dance. She's got a recital
coming up.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
So not Prestige Liquor, you're not dance.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
I was pulling out of the parking lot of a
dance a dance studio.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
Right I got back three o'clock. I was going to
take back a shirt that I got for Halloween.
Speaker 4 (06:39):
I wore it and then just returned it. So stone
cold beast for that.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
I don't know you could take back stuff for how.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
There's certain places you can take back don't they say
final sale.
Speaker 6 (06:53):
It's like, yeah, I save it for next year.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
Yeah yeah, I wasn't not underwear or anything like that.
So good stand anyway, So how are you doing Q?
So three pm Pacific my time? I was on date night,
so my wife actually to do one night a week
date night. Last night was the night, and uh yeah
we had we had just sat down.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
For dinner, so we're on the same page.
Speaker 6 (07:14):
Then not quite. My wife's pregnant. And then I'm obviously driving,
so no one drank.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
Hey Brady, what about three o'clock local times?
Speaker 4 (07:25):
Drinking for four?
Speaker 6 (07:26):
Three o'clock local time? My girls had volleyball, and then
I was also doing some work on something at the house.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Okay, so so volleyball was not at precede six o'clock
six o'clock our time, six o'clock our time. I had
just got home from picking Pen up from dance at
five forty five and was sitting down to eating my
meal and watching the election. Yeah, how about that, That's
(07:56):
what I was doing at six o'clock.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
So there you go. Oh my couch, I was playing
with my son, you're what playing.
Speaker 6 (08:03):
With So we were playing.
Speaker 4 (08:06):
Throw the ball around?
Speaker 3 (08:07):
Ca You not make that motion when you say I
was playing with before you get your punchline.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
Please.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
My confused sun sitting here like a yeah, so we're
playing baseball. That's your thing? How you got him on
the baseball kick?
Speaker 4 (08:25):
He loves it.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
Although you know all this man big day for us.
So the wind gusts are going to be real strong
out here today. So they're going to be like close
to thirty miles an hour. So people have flown kites
with your kid. I got one today yesterday, bro, I
suggest you fly a kite with your while he's still
at that age.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
Might be one of the most amazing experiences that I
can remember from my childhood is like the first time
I flew kite.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
So my brother got me one a while back, and
I haven't flown it because we haven't had like a
really really windy day. And my kid's a weather nerd
like me, So we have the weather app that we
track the wind together and we look at her and
we try and see what And I told him, hey,
Wednesday's a big day, like, and everyone's worried about fire,
like fire season and all that stuff, and that's something
to be concerned with, but Wednesday is.
Speaker 4 (09:14):
The big day.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
So we're gonna we're gonna bring the kite out that
we're going to try and make it happen.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
It's the funniest thing when you can't get it to
go you start running around to get it to go up.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
I'll blame his mom even though she's not there.
Speaker 6 (09:25):
Quick quick question, So how did the flight kind of
the flying thing start? Like what, you're you're big into kites?
Speaker 3 (09:32):
He likes, No, we like weather, like we're all like
we're weather nerds. So he loves like he's got like
a multiple tornado books, like he wants to watch show.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
Yeah, it's like, I wonder how he got into that.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
Yeah, my wife doesn't get it. So you gets you
such geeks, Like yeah.
Speaker 6 (09:48):
Well the other thing is you guys don't really have
much like weather like that in California, I know.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
So like we've got to we've got to like search
to find shows and things to watch.
Speaker 6 (09:55):
So my oldest daughter is also very into it. They're
also reading about it and next study in school. But
when we moved from Florida, there was like all the hurricanes,
so that was like scaring her as a little kid
because she's like not sure what to think about that.
And then they're teaching her about tornadoes different things, and
we moved to Ohio and so then she's like, well,
what's which is worse than like breaking it down, and
(10:18):
she's just getting more and more scared about either event
as well. I was like, it's it's not that often
this sort of thing happens.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
Yeah, my mom went to Central State in Xenia, Ohio.
There you go about that. Yeah, home of the movie
of Gummo. You never heard of that, but you need
to watch. It's kind of weird.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Oh I think I think you brought that up.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
I'm telling is one of the most shot out movies
you'll ever you'll ever see, man, Gummo watch it nice.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
It's it's tripped out. But anyways, Tornado tours Xenia up. Boy,
man tour it up like put it on his head.
He yeah, he's obsessed. Man, He's like, he's like me.
So when we found out it was gonna be really
windy today, like this is a big.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
Day and he wants to go play. Baby, you want
to see them. I don't never want to see it.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
See a tornado. That that's one of the I have
to do it. I have to Like I've already looked
up the storm chasing tours in the Midwest to go to.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
You ever think that when you go to see that tornado,
when you see it, you're just gonna like do what
you were doing with that watching that that comedian. You're
just gonna unbuckle your seat belt part and just walk
into it and just say, I'm going I'm coming home,
coming home to see you. That's that's like your ultimate goal,
isn't it.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
Yea Fallouts fails like you guys can.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
Talk about taking you home.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
To Jesus, guys, you guys get me kicked off this show,
I'll just literally like disrobe and walk straight into an
F five and just say, whatever.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
You got, that's going to be one thousand dollars, just
so you know, because that's like multiplied your passive aggressiveness
right there that you just execute it. And it was
so quick. It was very very quick. It was super quick.
It was getting to night quick.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
Yeah, but that's gonna cost you one thousand dollars, am
I The many paccio passive aggressive that was that was
that was championship caliber what you just did, just so
you know, by the way, elsewhere the raiders made a
bunch of moves on there.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
Off, it wouldn't be me. I don't know about Q.
It wouldn't be me now Lee. On the other hand,
Lee's asked Lee, canna be your trouble, but you it
wouldn't because of me.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
Wait second, I just saw I just saw the chat
in the Google.
Speaker 4 (12:39):
What is it? I don't use it?
Speaker 3 (12:41):
What is it?
Speaker 6 (12:42):
I know?
Speaker 4 (12:43):
Hold on?
Speaker 6 (12:44):
I mean I don't know that Lee knows how to
access it. So that's great.
Speaker 7 (12:54):
Oh wow wow, oh man, yeah it is.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
I mean, if I could speak my mind, that is
what I would probably say.
Speaker 6 (13:13):
I'm just trying to get a reaction out of Lee
because it feels like sometimes in the morning or just
in general, he's like slow to react.
Speaker 4 (13:21):
But we're boring to Lee, you know what I mean.
Like Lee just thinks we pick on them.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
You know, I do my job, these sons and guns,
they pick on me the whole entire time, and then
I go to get the hang with my real people.
Speaker 6 (13:33):
Well, here's the truth to Lee, and I'll just say
this is we try to make Lee's job very easy,
very very easy. Behind the scenes, do make it easy?
Speaker 2 (13:41):
Yeah, we try, We try to.
Speaker 6 (13:43):
I mean it's great.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
I just I think I think there's a little confusion
about yesterday though that I'm still like struggling what what
is it? I just I like, there seems to be
a period of the day that's missing from Lee, and
I don't know what happened. Did you just like go
to outer space that quick after you rip the bottle
of Evan Williams? Like, did you smoke? No? No? By
(14:10):
the way, I was not that. I was not familiar
with Evan Williams until Lee was time.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
I've never heard of it in my life. When he
said that one of his new friends. Yeah, by the way,
the Packers do have a guy named Evan.
Speaker 5 (14:22):
WA's awesome. Yeah, he's really good.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
Perfect, it's perfect chair for him and I drink them.
And And the benefit to Evan Williams is what Lee
compared to know who that is? And the benefit to
Evin Williams is what I do.
Speaker 4 (14:43):
Know who that is?
Speaker 8 (14:44):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (14:44):
The benefit to Evan Williams is it's a dollar cheaper
than Jack Daniels.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
Dang, wait a second, you shut up that. But you
wouldn't shoot up that with you, liar. It is two
pros and a cup of joe here on Fox Sports Radio,
LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you. All right, So, yeah,
the the Raiders made some moves on the offensive staff.
(15:10):
None of it's gonna help because you know, they couldn't
figure out the quarterback position. They traded away DeVonta Adams
and didn't sign Josh Jacobs back. So there's that. There's
your update on the Raiders. But North Turner's back though,
how about it? So there is you know, going back
to the past, or Turners back or Scott Turt North
Turner's also coming back. He's going to be an assistant somehow,
So very.
Speaker 6 (15:31):
Scott have been together before. By the way, Joe Philbin, Like,
here's the quick thing I'd say about the Raiders' situation.
When Ap decided to move on from who he moved
on from, it's alarming. It's a little bit jarring because
it's a big portion of your offensive staff. When you're
talking about a play caller, a quarterback coach, and an
offensive line coach, right, Like, it probably doesn't get as
(15:51):
much more important than those those three position positions on
your offensive staff. But who we filled them in with
with Scott and obviously North a part of that to
help with that, and then Joe Philbin It's like all right,
I mean Joe Film was a head coach like he's.
He has obviously been successful enough to reach that level.
He's been a very well Uh, he's got a great
(16:12):
reputation as an offensive line coach. And obviously Scott Turner
has previous experience. Obviously his father's a ton of experience.
So those are are good coaches to come in to
fill this void for the second half the season, to
give him a shot at trying to retain his head
coach candidacy.
Speaker 3 (16:31):
You need help. You wait, what do you mean? It's
a great explanation, but you you need help, bro.
Speaker 6 (16:37):
I think I think they got a shot maybe a
little little bit of a bounce back here.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
You your football analysis is flawless. It's you personally that
needs you. You need better help, man. I'm gonna do
that read in in hour three. But you you need
is this is this because of the chat?
Speaker 6 (16:54):
Yes, I'm just trying to get a response out of it.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
I don't think knows how to access them. You know
what you want me to say to that? We're asking
question the truth? Did you do it? That we wanted
to what do you do? What the truth is? What
we want speak into the microproe squid pray.
Speaker 4 (17:13):
What it tastes like?
Speaker 6 (17:14):
No, Billy, how you play with me, Jonas is just
as just as much playing roles.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
Talking about No I'm just sitting here doing a show
from the tire Rack dot Com studios. I don't know
what what do you get at?
Speaker 8 (17:26):
Oh all right, it's coming up next here here on
two Proso we are one step closer to the matchup
of the century in college football.
Speaker 3 (17:37):
We'll explain what that is right here on FSR.
Speaker 9 (17:40):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe Here on Fox
Sports Radio. A little over fifteen minutes from now from
these tire Ract studios, we are going to have our
midweek Awards, the Good, the Bad, and the ugly right
here on FSR. But yesterday it was the inaugural twelve
team college Football Playoff Ranking reveal. As Eddie Garcia pointed out,
and your top twelve is as follows Oregon, Ohio State, Georgia, Miami, Texas,
(18:18):
Penn State, Tennessee, Indiana byu In, Notre Dame at ten,
Alabama eleven, and Boise State at twelve. And then there
were these projections that came out and we'd kind of
thrown out like, man, what if you know, just just
what if we could get ourselves Notre Dame Penn State
in Happy Valley in the first round.
Speaker 6 (18:40):
Well, yeah, it wasn't that based on what I predicted
was going to be this ranking, And.
Speaker 3 (18:44):
It looks like at least we're on track after one
week to potentially get that, which is all I want
from this college football playoff. I want to live that life.
Speaker 6 (18:53):
I mean, you would assume because both for Penn State
and Notre Dame they actually should win out. They'll be favored,
I believe, in every single game from here on out
this season, and that should make for at least them
to both be able to kind of hold their course
of where they're going. I do want to touch on
this though, because I want to reiterate something that I
think a lot of people are confused by. And look,
(19:16):
even people who work in the business are confused by this,
So the top twelve teams that you get may not
be the top twelve teams that actually make it into
the College Football Playoff. That's the first thing I'll say,
and I'll explain that in a second. The next thing
is the top four teams will not be the top
(19:37):
four teams that receive buys. I want to make that
very clear so people understand that. The language within the
College Football Playoff COMMTEE in the agreement is the four
highest ranked conference champions. So as of right now, for example,
Oregon's at one, Ohio States at two, Georgia's at three,
(19:59):
Miami's at four. Ohio State and Oregon are both in
the Big ten. Let's say those two square off and
Oregon wins. They won the last time. Let's say they
win again. They're the higher ranked team. Ohio State, if
they were ranked in the top four, would not receive
a BUYE. They would be the fifth seed. That's the
highest they could be. So, for example, if the playoff
(20:22):
was to start two day based on these rankings, you'd
have Oregon with a BUYE representing the Big ten, Georgia
with a buy representing the SEC as the number two seed,
Miami with a buy representing the ACC as the three seed,
and then you'd have to go all the way down
to BYU at number nine, who would be the four
seed who would get a BUYE for presumably winning the
(20:44):
Big Twelve. Now the next team, and there's not really
any controversy in this regard because Boise State were assuming
they'd be the group of five highest ranked conference champion,
they would be in as part of the playoff, but
they would be a.
Speaker 2 (20:58):
Twelve seed in this case. So does that make sense?
Speaker 6 (21:00):
Like, even though BYU is a nine seed, if they
went out and win the Big Twelve, they would jump
to a four seed and get a buy Does that
make sense? Okay, here's one other scenario that people need
to understand too that I don't know that they do.
BYU sitting at nine, Boise State sitting at twelve. Let's
say BYU loses a game, still wins the Big Twelve championship,
(21:23):
and let's just happen to say Boise State wins out
they win the Mountain West. There's a chance Boise State
could be ranked higher than BYU. Boise State could then
be that fourth team that ends up getting a buy. Now,
it's highly unlikely Okay, the last ten years we've done
the College Football Playoff, there's only been one team to
(21:44):
make the Group of four, and that was Cincinnati. So
it's highly unlikely that the College Football Playoff Committee would
look at Boise State's schedule and say, it's more difficult
higher strength to schedule. We feel like this team is
better than the Big twelve champ up. But it is
a possibility. So not a lot of people realize that.
(22:04):
I think they look at the Top twelve they're like,
this is the group that goes in. That's not how
this works, and especially it doesn't work in regards to
the buys for the top four teams that would move
on to play in the second round.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
I'll say this.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
Whatever how I mean, the projected one that the College
Football Playoff predictor for the bracket that it looked really
amazing right now, Yeah, it looks let me tell you
that's going to be one hell of a playoff. I mean,
I can't even imagine what the ratings are going to
(22:41):
be for these games, bro I mean, I think the
I think the excitement of them being home games, I
think the intrigue of what it represents, regardless of anything
I think this is the one year where if you
(23:02):
just cannot continue, like based off of what you're saying too, like,
you just can't continue to say after this year you
didn't get it right, You can't you can't do it like,
you can't do It's too many teams where if you
if you missed the playoff, you missed the playoffs, try
come back next year trying to do it again.
Speaker 3 (23:20):
I'm way more excited about the college football playoff in
the NFL playoffs and it's not even close.
Speaker 4 (23:25):
Bruh. I mean, looking at that bracket, that's super exciting.
Speaker 6 (23:29):
Let's just compare the two leagues too. Okay, there's way
more parody in college football with the number of times
we've seen a number one seed, for example, be upset, unseated.
Speaker 4 (23:41):
Right.
Speaker 6 (23:42):
We saw that with Georgia, we saw that with Texas,
we saw Alabama earlier this season. We've seen Tennessee. Tennessee
got knocked out by Arkansas, we saw high steat and
a tight, tight battle with Oregon. They get knocked off,
they get a leap frog. So there's there's been examples
of the parody that exists within college football, especially when
you've got a team like Vandy that unfortunately is not
(24:05):
ranked within the top twenty five. However, you know did
was able to upset and has had an unbelievable season
for their standards in the SEC play and knocking off
Alabama SMU. I'm not sure people you know knew just
how good SMU could be in the ACC this year.
And you know, given their moving from a group of
five moving up, they're eight and one, they're knocking on
(24:28):
the door at being a part of this and who knows,
maybe they've got an outside shot of winning the ACC
when it's all said and done. So there's to me
a lot of intrigue and a lot of anticipation for
what this playoff is going to look like. I think
the atmosphere, I think everything else you're talking about. And
if I'm the NFL, I'm not like concerned.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
The NFL is the NFL. It's a bohemoth.
Speaker 6 (24:49):
But if I was going to say to you right now,
which one has the better chance to grow and to
continue to grow, it's easily college football as compared to
the NFL. The only thing the NFL has going for
it in comparison to from a ratings perspective is really
obviously the larger markets, so more people tend to tune
in and watch. But I think as I mean not
(25:11):
to make it like a political reference here, but I
think as you look at the way college football could
infiltrate some of those bigger markets, those big cities, and
if you could find more fandom there and people would
find it more intriguing, That's when you if you're the
NFL and you see a ratings plot, so you kind
of go, all right, maybe we need.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
To figure out this out.
Speaker 6 (25:32):
Maybe we need to figure out what's unique about college
football that we don't have. I mean, I could distinctly
tell you this, like the atmosphere is a thousand times
better at a college football game than at an NFL game.
It just is like the tailgating, the experience, the ban,
the tradition, all the stuff that goes along with it
that makes every school unique to it. You don't really
(25:53):
have that in a professional franchise. And I think the
other thing is is, you know, there tends to be
a bit more stability. I'm not saying there's a but
you look at some of the underperforming programs, like you know,
Florida State for example this year. I don't think they're
moving on from Mike Dorfell. You know, the buyout's too big.
There'll be more if this is an NFL team, and
Florida State he was a bit out of there like
(26:13):
three games ago. Yeah, so you know, I'm like you guys,
I can't wait. I hope and pray. I think for
us for our show. Selfishly, Penn State Notre Name would
be awesome. And by the way, selfishly, I'd love for
Notre Name to host one. I really thought in the
beginning of the season their floor was eleven and one,
and I thought that might be good enough to get
(26:35):
them in to hosting a playoff game in the playoff.
But now the strength of schedule is so weak, and
with that one lost ANIU, I just don't know how
much ground they can make up in the playoff committee's mind.
So because of that, I think they'll make it in.
But unfortunately, now the lost ANIU will keep them from
hosting one and instead going to a place like Happy Valley,
(26:56):
which again I've said it before, say it again. There's
two places, Neeland and then obviously Happy Valley, Like those
are the two most unbelievable college football stadiums experiences. You
know that all of that, and uh, I mean hell,
it'd be a shame. It would actually be a shame
if Penn State and Tennessee had to play each other,
because we would be all robbed of not having those
(27:19):
two venues potentially in play for hosting one. That would
be the biggest crime I think if those two teams
had to score off in the first round.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
I just interviewed Jack Jack Kaiser yesterday. Kaiser, he's up
for did that come about? He's up for it. I
do a show for the National Football Football Foundation, and
he's up for the Campbell Award. Superdude, man. Yeah, she's
a young man. Man.
Speaker 4 (27:43):
Yeah, super impressive dude.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
I love linebacker, love me some linebackers, man, but do
was super, very very impressive man.
Speaker 4 (27:49):
So I enjoyed talking with him yesterday.
Speaker 3 (27:51):
The first round college football playoff dates or December twentieth
and the twenty first. So the twentieth is that Friday,
and then the twenty first on the Saturday. The NFL
games going on are Houston at cac and then Pittsburgh
at Baltimore. So there's a lot of good football taking
place that weekend. But still even those matchups did all
take college football in the first round, first ever playoffs
(28:13):
at home sites.
Speaker 4 (28:14):
That that energy is going to be crazy.
Speaker 6 (28:17):
Man.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
We need notre Dame Penn State. Gotta happen.
Speaker 4 (28:20):
It'd be crazy.

there's some bad, and then there's some downright ugly things.
It's time for good, bad and ugly.
Speaker 3 (29:36):
All right, lead to lap Who's got what will?
Speaker 5 (29:39):
As we do each and every Wednesday, we start with
the good and this week, Jonas, you are delivering the goodness.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
Well, I said it earlier in the week. I think
despite the record, the Detroit Lions are the best team
in the NFL. I'll take them over Kansas City right now.
And my good for the week is the Lions changing
the discussion about their organization, where you've Xavier McKinney of
the Packers coming out saying that the Lions try and
embarrass people, they try and humiliate teams, and I think
(30:08):
it's great for that organization who's been a punchline for
decades that now they're getting their turn to punch back
and they're clowning teams left and right. They don't play
with their food. In my mind, again, best team in football,
and I'm happy for the fan base. I'm happy for
Dan Campbell, I'm happy for those players, and I hope
(30:28):
they continue this run and we see that team in
the super Bowl. They're my good for the week.
Speaker 5 (30:32):
Well, you can't have good without Bet and you can't
spell Brady without Bet Brady.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
What was bad this week?
Speaker 6 (30:37):
I could go a couple different directions, but ultimately what's
bad has been the Saints. After a two and zero start,
they've actually crumbled. I know the injury that Derek Carr
played a role, but now Mickey loomis the Saints organization
moving on from Dennis Allen, and the reality is between
the pressure and the stress of just the weekend week
(30:59):
out losing for New Orleans, he's no longer there. But
quite the turnaround after you know that two and oh
started feeling like they might set the the NFL fire
on fire, at least when the NFC South. We now
are looking at a New Orleans Saints team that we'll
be looking for a head coach, and I'll be curious
to see how this team hangs on as there and
(31:19):
cap hell considering some of the decisions they've made over
recent years. So there's really nothing they can do even
heading into this upcoming offseason because of the CAP situation.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
And from bad two worse. LeVar, what was ugly? Oh,
the NB situation. That's that's kind of ugly. I listen
the Hayes wrote what he wrote about Embi's son who
you know, died his brother who's gone. Yeah, and MB
didn't like it. They had an exchange, they pushed him.
(31:55):
I thought it was interesting because Hayes removed the hearts
that had those those those words in it eventually, So
that was interesting that almost like he owned up or
or accept the fact that maybe it was wrong to
do it the way that.
Speaker 4 (32:11):
He did it.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
But I thought what made it even I mean, that's
as ugly as it should get. But a tad bit
uglier is that he got suspended for it. He's getting
suspended for three games, but he hasn't played any yet.
That's kind of ugly. I mean, that makes it uglier
on a whole other side, like away from the personal
side of it being ugly between media and a player,
(32:35):
the uglier side of it is is he's getting a
three game suspension. I mean, he hasn't played one game
yet this year.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
Should he get suspended three games for having back and
forth with a media member? And okay, but like that
that that is justifies.
Speaker 1 (32:51):
A three game suspension twenty twenty four, that that could
be a season that you could get you could get
cut from a team from in twenty twenty Okay, I
mean Mike Gundy's out here apologizing. Kelsey's had to apologize.
I mean, little you know, this is just that's the
world we live in now, you know. Mike Gundy said, y'all,
(33:11):
y'all little d bags can't pay your own bills. And
he was actually put in a position where he had
to come back and apologize for it.
Speaker 4 (33:20):
Like why apologize?
Speaker 1 (33:22):
Jason Kelsey had to apologize for a dude talking crazy
head on his brother and and he broke the dude's phone.
Speaker 4 (33:30):
Why does he have to apologize for? I just ugly, ugly,
you know day.
Speaker 1 (33:38):
I remember a day and age where, you know, when
I was growing up, reporter could get body slammed.
Speaker 4 (33:44):
By one of the players.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
And and for what it's worth, a player could get
body slammed by reporter and and they'll go have a
bear and a smoke and keep it moving, moving, moving on.
Speaker 3 (33:54):
You know, is it. Sean McDonough is the play by
play guy for ESPN. Yes, so, his dad, who covered
the NFL for years. There was a story that he
actually beat up a player for the Patriots in the
locker room. I guess his dad could throw it out.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
I've seen plenty of confrontations between this guy from the Patriots,
like mouthed off and got in his face and shoved
him and he clocked him like they would add it,
and there was no I've never really seen all out fights,
but I've seen definitely where guys had to be broken
up and stuff like that. And it really doesn't go
(34:31):
any further than the locker room. You know, you just don't.
It's just never been discussed, you know. But now that's
not how it works, like i'd assume. Now you got players, media,
everybody pulling out their camera phones, like, look at it.
Speaker 4 (34:45):
They got to break them up. I gotta break this story.
Speaker 1 (34:48):
Clicks are coming, like, you know, it's just just a
different way, man, It's just a different way of going
about things. But yeah, but he's getting three games suspend it,
and he was probably going to sit out three more.
It's probably happy about there, you go. Oh no, none
that I saw people more.
Speaker 4 (35:04):
I mean he's not getting paid now though, three games with.
Speaker 3 (35:06):
No pay, so people's dead family members out your mouth
if you if you're talking trash about him, I guess
that's what comes down to tell me about it.
Speaker 4 (35:15):
Yeah, man, I.
Speaker 1 (35:16):
Mean we do that to you about your dog all
the time, right, But we do it everyone.
Speaker 4 (35:24):
We do the dog
