Where does that word even come from? I don't know
where did huck come from? I mean it had to
be something, right, yeah, I mean everybody says hut, so hut,
like I don't get where where did that come from?

Speaker 4 (02:32):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Well?

Speaker 5 (02:33):
No, like Omaha, bluego you know that was that was
a thing? Oh blue you know.

Speaker 6 (02:38):
And then there's the what was the dak one? Here
we go, here we go, here we go? Like people
mix it up a little bit.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Does anybody say hike anymore?

Speaker 6 (02:49):
No one says that.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
I think there was anybody?

Speaker 7 (02:52):
Yeah, yeah, I looked up some history here on the
word hut.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
What do you have there, Rena?

Speaker 3 (02:59):
Well?

Speaker 7 (02:59):
The ball term hut originates from military marching commands, specifically
a ton hut yeah, as a replacement for one in
counting hut two three four, adopted by football players and
coaches after World War Two for its clarity and consciousness makes.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
A ton of sense? Was fast thought about it? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (03:19):
Fast research?

Speaker 3 (03:19):
Right?

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Ray? And that's awesome? Which which is well that we
have so much connections?

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Did you used to get that? I use regular Google
all right? Because you know what will happened? You got
a grock, that'd be a different answer.

Speaker 6 (03:33):
Well that like Google still has their own AI that
does that.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
So yeah, it's gotten much better in the past year.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
It's definitely military though, it's it's definitely military. So that's
that's pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Well, I know who's not going to be here in
hut in Miami any longer.

Speaker 6 (03:48):
Oh, don't be Mike McDaniel.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Oh dang, while one was losing, yeah, the other was winning.

Speaker 6 (03:56):
Why they have to wait until Thursday to fire them?

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Because someone Hell, they didn't want to fire him on
Black Monday. Damn ye had to get had to get
over halfway the week before you let him go.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
You got to uh, you gotta be careful man, you
do me.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
I mean they called it Black Monday. I mean, well,
you don't want no smoke when you when you drive
that hammer.

Speaker 5 (04:33):
I thought that they need got a reassurance from John
Harbaugh given after we talked to Alibert Brewer yesterday. He
gave us the insight of, hey, there's a Harball connection there.
They've you know, tried to hire a different Harbor at
a point in time, so maybe there's a little more
something there. But he also talked about the difficulties with

(04:53):
how that would work, you know, getting reassurances from John
that he would be the guy, he'd get the guy,
but then you're going through a bunch of interviews just
to satisfy the Rooney rule.

Speaker 6 (05:02):
And also John Harbaugh's me be a.

Speaker 5 (05:04):
Hotly you know, I attracted attractive owner or excuse me,
h head coach for any owner. So it's going to
be tough to see if Miami and indeed ends up
getting the guy I think they think they're going to get,
or if he chooses elsewhere.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
Jeff Darlington, your guy, was going through it because basically
he was being accused of being a cabana boy for
the Dolphins because he came out with a statement and said,
look this the firing of Mike McDaniel was independent of
John Harbaugh being available, and so of course nobody believed him.

(05:44):
But he went back to Tony Sperano Jim Harbaugh when
they went through that whole process, they never felt right
about the fact that they went and interviewed a coach
while they had a head coach in the building, and
so he based it was just letting people know, look,
I understand why this would come across as you not

(06:04):
believe not a believable story or you not. But that's
that's at least his perception of it in the information
he was given to people. But I look at it
and I go, yeah, it may not be everything, but
I think this did speed up the process that Harvard
it do.

Speaker 6 (06:20):
So what changed? What changed? This team hasn't been in
the playoff hunt. You know this, This this team.

Speaker 5 (06:28):
Has been out of it for a while, and you've
probably had in the back of your head an idea
of what you want to do at the head coach
position from that point. Once you're eliminated from the playoffs,
everything starts to get reevaluated, and once that Week eighteen
game comes, you're.

Speaker 6 (06:46):
Ready to kind of figure out your plan moving on
to next season.

Speaker 5 (06:49):
And it doesn't need to wait until Thursday of that
following week heading into the wildcard round to.

Speaker 6 (06:56):
Then make that decision.

Speaker 5 (06:59):
It's it leads everyone to speculate that this has everything
to do with the candidates that are out there, and
by the way, that's understandable. You know, I understand that
there's you know, a thought, you know, to looking bad
for the organization. Who cares if John Harball gets hired
and the Dolphins win a Super Bowl. Is anyone gonna

(07:19):
look back and go, hey, remember they fired Mike McDaniel
because they wanted to hire John Harball.

Speaker 6 (07:24):
Remember that process? One is any gonna talk about that?

Speaker 1 (07:30):
I wonder will John Harball's look changed progressively over the
years like Mike McDaniels did. Like, it's kind of interesting.
He came in pretty clear, like he was kind of
a I don't know, it was more conservative look to him.
Then you know, once he evolved, you know, his hair

(07:50):
got a little bit longer, a little bit you know,
had a little bit of a wet look to it.
You know, the glasses went from a little bit more
conservative to a little bit more edgier. I mean kind
of like what you would like referencing earlier on with
the Miami hurricane. Yeah, it looked he just had a
little different look to him.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
Man, are just saying, as you mentioned, he channeled that
other half? Is that what you're saying, So what you're
trying to get at.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
I'm not going to say he channeled another half. I'm
gonna say he channeled his He evolved into a Miami and.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
The idea that because he was, like Mike McDaniel, spoke
earlier this week and said that he was going to
be a part of the GM process, and like like
he he operated as if he was under the impression
he was going to be around and then and so
then Chad Alexander gets interviewed, and Albert Breer was pointing

(08:46):
this out yesterday and was just saying, you know, listen,
Chad Alexander, all of a sudden starting was part of
the interview process for GMS. He's got a relationship with Harbaugh,
and so that was sort of an indication that maybe
there was an understanding that this may become a possibility,
because why was he, all of a sudden a candidate.
And then next thing, you know, the story is Steven Ross,

(09:11):
Dolvin's owner, met with Mike McDaniel. They were, you know,
in the midst of their meeting and whatnot. The other
day they just decided after the meeting, you know what,
we need to go ahead in a different direction, we
need to chance. Well, if that was the case, why
didn't you just fire him when you fired the GM, Like,
why didn't you just make the move then? Because I
don't know that Mike McDaniel would have benched TUA the

(09:34):
way that he did if he was under the impression
that he was his job was on the line and
he was going to be out the door because Tua
would have given them a better chance to win down
the stretch. Even though they won a few games. I
think two was the better quarterback on that team. Why
he would bench him in that spot. That meant to me, Well,

(09:55):
he thinks he's safe, then Harball becomes available, and then
you know, Kat's out of the bank.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
He's going what if it isn't What if it isn't Harball?
I mean, does it still sound crazy like if they
get Stefanski? I don't feel like there's any I don't
feel like there's anything wrong with that either. What if
it isn't horrible? What if it is Kevin Stefanski?

Speaker 6 (10:14):
Sure? I just I think to sit there and say,
if you're the.

Speaker 5 (10:18):
Dolphins organization, that the firings of other organizations haven't impacted
your decision.

Speaker 6 (10:25):
Of who you have.

Speaker 5 (10:28):
Yeah, And I think that's that's what we're talking about
right now, is you know, Mike McDaniel gets to Jonas's point.
If you knew that you wanted to pay a head
coach and a general manager together, you would have fired
Mike McDaniel during the season then, because giving him the
reassurance that you know he was going to be a
part of the GM process or he was safe, and

(10:49):
allowing him to play Quinn Ewers, who's a rookie who
mind you like, you know, could have played great, could
have helped him win a game. Who knows he did.
What I'm saying to Jonas's point to us still gave
you the best chance to win, and you took him
out and you convinced anotherwise. So it almost like you
kind of said Mike McDaniel up to Bury to parry

(11:12):
his own coffin, which so he.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Didn't draft him. He didn't, He didn't, drest. It's not
his quarterback. He was brought in to save that quarterback.
He didn't draft him. But that's that's another topic. But dang,
you had to base he had to base his job
security off of a guy he didn't even draft. That's
kind of And quin yours did come in and give
give the team a little bit of a boost, what

(11:34):
for like two or three games? What was it? I
think they didn't lose until what two gay, I don't
know anyways, I I don't know is.

Speaker 6 (11:44):
There a chance. You just said that without having any
idea how Miami is no, because.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
I remember how many I remember Quinn yours was okay?

Speaker 6 (11:52):
I do did Miami win their final game of the season, LeVar?

Speaker 1 (11:55):
I believe they lost their final game of the season.
I believe you did they win? They lost thirty to
ten to the New England Patriots. I believe they won four.
I believe they would be the last two weeks before they.

Speaker 6 (12:08):
Beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week seventeen.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
And they were winning street.

Speaker 5 (12:14):
They went on like a multiple games they got They
got blown out by Cincinnati in week six three four. Yeah,
they thought they were like a three game They had
like a three game maybe two was still in there though.
They went on like a three game, four game winning streak.
I do believe they lost in.

Speaker 6 (12:32):
Week fifteen on Monday their football to the Steelers.

Speaker 5 (12:35):
This is maybe it was two games. Maybe that's when
you remember it wasn't it was a game. They've won
a game down the stretch there. They beat the Jets.
That was like week fourteen, maybe like the beginning of December.
Do you remember a month ago?

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Do you remember that's when he was two? Was on
the field with Jalen Ramsey and it was like, man,
what you know, why is he chopping it up with
this guy? You know it was a former teammate, but
they just they just lost and he played poorly and
that's when they started making the move and Quen Yours
got the start and they won one. They beat Tampa
second to last week, which.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
Was am I am?

Speaker 6 (13:07):
I off?

Speaker 1 (13:08):
Hold on one? Is this the wrong? Did they did?

Speaker 6 (13:12):
They beat the Bills?

Speaker 3 (13:14):
Yeah, they were on a four game winning streak that yeah, but.

Speaker 6 (13:17):
That was that.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
And no, not early. That's not early.

Speaker 6 (13:24):
Okay? Do you are you trying to sound right?

Speaker 1 (13:27):
I don't want to split theirs. I thought it was.
All I'm saying is I remember a four game winning streak.
That's all I'm saying. And there's yeah, it was a
four game winning streak. I just mixed it up. I
thought that they went on a little run with yours though,
but that it was earlier.

Speaker 6 (13:43):
A couple that was with TUA was there.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
And it doesn't matter because it doesn't. They stink, so
it doesn't it really, it doesn't even matter to argue
it like, it doesn't matter, the bottom line. It's said
that said that my mixed brethren, lost his job off
of off of handling things with.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
Didn't He's ours too.

Speaker 6 (14:11):
He's ours to defend. We shall go.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
Up I'll go up top for him, you know, I will.

Speaker 6 (14:17):
You know it's top.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
Hey, let's all three, let's all three go up top.
He's all ready one.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
Yeah, all of ours. No, var no, I will not,
I will not. He's got it.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
He's got it Irish. For God's sake.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
He did look like a character out of Top Gun
though the sequel, the reboots, not the.

Speaker 6 (14:42):
Original, not the original, the.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Original like the original one when he originally got hired,
and then the reboot he looked like the reboot one.
Yeah there you go.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
Yeah, all right, So how they get? So they've got
to be careful, it's I mean, I guess you get.
I don't know if careful is the right words. So
they do well.

Speaker 5 (15:01):
So so what's odd to me is you had an
in house candidate to be their inter head coach and
Anthony Weaver, and I'm sure he'll get an interview, and
he should get an interview. I wouldn't be shocked if
he didn't, you know, stay on the staff because he's
a really good defensive coordinator, and I think and then
helped he might interview.

Speaker 6 (15:17):
For other head coaching jobs because that's how he's viewed.

Speaker 5 (15:20):
So so Anthony Weaver, I think will be one of
their first interviews, or I would I would think that'd
be the case.

Speaker 6 (15:26):
But it just still goes back to the original point.
If you're going to.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
Well, look, we're going through these interviews, but we're hiring you,
so don't take anybody else's job. We're hiring you. We
just got to go through the process, all right, Okay, good.

Speaker 5 (15:40):
Well, but would you want that, like would you want
to be Hey, I'm going to interview you just to
check a box and we want you back as your
defensive coordinator.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
But you know, we people are so thrown off by
the Rooney rule, right because at the end of the day,
do you know if an organization is saying that to
a coach, and in this one, this is probably as
clear an idea of that as you're going to get, right, Like, hey, hey, John,

(16:08):
we're going to go through the process. But if you're
telling us you want to be a Miami Dolphins head coach,
we want you to be the head coach, So don't
take another job like you can do an interview, that's fine,
but please, like let's be on like and I think
you said this on the show yesterday, Like there is
a lot of ancestrious and real, real like cronyism that

(16:30):
goes on within the league. So those relationships are in
place and you are going to have those conversations with confidence,
like we're going to hire you. If you're saying you
want to come here, we're saying we want you. Don't
take another job before we complete what we need to complete.
Check in the boxes. To me, I think that that's
why the Rooney rule in a lot of ways, it's

(16:52):
a joke. It's only for public To me, it's only
for public consumption to say, hey, we're going for change,
we're promoting and inclusion and all those things. But in reality,
behind the scenes in a situation like this, it's everything
but that. And it doesn't like I don't know how
you go down that lane with it, you know what
I mean? But the bottom line, well, I got got Well.

Speaker 5 (17:15):
I was pointing out more from like Anthony Weaver's perspective,
like if you know that Harball is the guy that
they won and they ask you to interview, it's like, well,
what's the point so you could check a box for
you guys like I might want to be a head
coach and interview elsewhere. I'm you know, like because and
really what I'm trying to say is, if they were
going to make this move on January eighth, twenty twenty six,

(17:41):
I do wonder if they would have gone back and said,
let's have Anthony.

Speaker 6 (17:45):
Weaver be the interim head coach. We'll move on from
Mike McDaniel.

Speaker 5 (17:49):
Now we can, you know, make this change on the
roster to have quin you were a start, we can
check out some of these younger players. There's just a
lot of other ways they could have gone about doing
this if it and I do feel like, well, I
don't feel like it was. I feel like they set
Mike Ntaniel up to fail correct and the entire reason
why they're playing Quin years at the end of the
season is because he thinks he's safe going into it.

(18:10):
And then you go through Black Monday, you go through
the course of the week, and it's not until you
have to bring in a GM candidate that more matches
up or aligns with John Horball once he becomes available,
that it then appears like, oh wait, maybe you know,
maybe Mike McDaniel isn't going.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
To be the guy.

Speaker 6 (18:29):
I just I feel like they I mean.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
The GM or the So this is the other part
of the story, at least what they're trying to tell
people that their process is such that they're going to
hire the GM first because they want the GM to
make the coaching hire, which is why people look at
that and say, well, it's probably going to be Chad Alexander,
Like Chad Alexander's probably going to be named GM, and

(18:57):
then he's going to hire Horbor like it's a whole
song ants like like in reality like this is they
know what they're doing, they know what they're gonna do,
and now they're trying to get out in front of
it because they're sensitive to how it looked to Tony
Sperano when they went and interviewed Jim Harbaugh while they
had a head coach there, Like it's just like it's

(19:17):
all bs and I just wonder how long did they
delay so that they make it look like we went
through our due diligence and man, of all the people,
we're gonna hire his GM, it's Chad Alexander, But of
all the it.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
Just had my choice. So I had my choice for
GM for the Miami Dolphins. I'll tell you that could
have changed my life even like so long sluckers.

Speaker 6 (19:48):
Yea, who is that going to be?

Speaker 1 (19:51):
Uh Hey, all I'll say is Steve Steve is my
guy man, Steve Me and Steve we were thicke a
s thieves. So Steve who uh.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
Steve Kyme Former Fox Sports Radio host Steve Kyme.

Pack did a fine job of working with my man.
Uh you know Arians, you know Arizona. It'd have been
nice to see him get a little little noother opportunity,
so yeah, yeah, but that ship is cool.

Speaker 6 (20:28):
Steve Kyme can get it done. We know a lot
of guys who can get it done.

Speaker 5 (20:30):
Speaking of getting it done, for the ones who get done,
Granger offers access to over a million products and skilled

Speaker 1 (20:51):
We needed to point this out to everybody.

Speaker 6 (20:53):

for him.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
You know, very big difference from South Beach.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
Very big hat on your head, bar. Yeah, but yeah,
I noticed like my hat.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
Y'all like my hat. Y'all like my hat. So you
gotta go to YouTube. You want to see my hat.

Speaker 3 (22:17):
You don't pet that hat, y'all to touch this hat?
All right? So coming up next here we are going
to have the second half of the college football Playoffs
semi final Quins wins, and it's yours right here on FSR.
But thanks to Home Serf for sponsoring this show, because
owning a home is amazing until it's not. One minute

(22:38):
you're sipping coffee, the next your ankle deep in water
from a burst pipe. Repairs don't care about timing and
they definitely don't care about your budget. You protect your health,
your car, even your phone, but what about your home.
It's probably your biggest investment, and when things go wrong,
the cost can hit hard and fast, and that's where
home Serve comes in. Regular homeowners insurance usually doesn't cover

(22:59):
a lot of the day to day wear and tear,
plumbing failures, HVAC breakdowns, electrical issues. You're often on your
own for those. That's where home Serve comes in. It's
like a subscription for your home for as little as
four ninety nine a month, they've got your back. Repairs
hit fast and hard. You could be searching for a
contractor in a panic, or you could already be on
the phone with home Serves twenty four to seven hotlines

(23:20):
scheduling a repair. It's super simple. Choose a plan for
your needs and budget, and when something on your plan
goes wrong, just call their twenty four to seven hotline
to start the repair process. They've helped home owners like
you for over twenty years with a trusted national network
of twenty six hundred local contractors with four point five
million customers, a four point eight out of five post

(23:42):
repair rating, and an A plus BBB rating. They're the
real deal. Look, I use home Serve and you should too.
Remember when I told you about that whole burst pipe
you come downstairs? Yeah, I was there, ankle deep in

Speaker 6 (25:45):
I'm a winner. Listen up.

Speaker 1 (25:47):
Winning cures all illnesses.

Speaker 6 (25:49):
It really does. I'm going to win. It's Quinn's wins. Yeah,
all right, we missed last night's game and we got
it at three and a half.

Speaker 5 (25:58):
However, obviously Mimi covered by four, and yes, the missfield
goal did not help. However, look, Miami missed the field
goal in there too, so I can't really complain about
that too much. Heading into tonight's semi final game of
rematch between Oregon and Indiana, I do want to point
this out if you look at the rematches that took place,

(26:18):
and I'll just go as far as saying this. Between
Power four teams so far the season, remember when Bama
beat Georgia, Well, what happened in the SEC Championship came
Georgia ended up defeating Bama. Remember when Oklahoma beat Alabama
earlier this season, what happened in the first round. Alabama
turned around and beat Oklahoma, and then finally, an Old

(26:39):
Miss team that lost to Georgia during the course of
the regular season turned around and beat them in the quarterfinals.
So teams facing a familiar opponent have not had a
good track record when they've played in the playoffs so
far the season, the lone exception being obviously Oregon excuse me,

(26:59):
not Oregon. Ole Miss taking care of Tulane, who they
faced earlier this year, then the result was the exact same.
That's why I said exclusively power four teams. So for
this matchup, I just I've said it before, I'll.

Speaker 6 (27:12):
Say it again.

Speaker 5 (27:13):
I think this Oregon team is kind of building to
be in contention for that national championship. If you look
at the track record two of Dan Lanning, every single
year he's gotten better and better and better. Dante Moore,
I think if he leaves, if he's not the first
overall pick, he'll be in contention for that. I think
there's a ton of speed, talent, size, and ability. If
you just look at the Adonis effect of the Oregon

(27:34):
versus Indiana. I know it didn't play out in the
first time in their house, but I feel like.

Speaker 6 (27:38):
It might in this one.

Speaker 5 (27:39):
Another thing for IU, they've they've been phenomenal this season
and they haven't really stubbed their toe at all. And
I know they've played in some tight games, they played
some games where they haven't played their best football and
still found a way to win. I just there's something
telling me that it's not going to work out that
way this time around. Mendoza has been phenomenal. The thing

(28:00):
to watch this matchup and this is what happened the
first time around, was the ability for Indiana to run
the football. They controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides,
more so though offensively, and if you go back to
their last game two in the playoff, same thing. I
you continually controlling the line of scrimmage. That's where these
games are one loss. We talked about it with Miami

(28:21):
really controlling the line of scrimmage versus Old miss and
that will win tonight's game.

Speaker 6 (28:26):
I just I don't I'll say this much.

Speaker 5 (28:29):
I'm not going money line Forgan, but I'm taking the
points at this game at this point.

Speaker 6 (28:34):
Which last time I checked, I had it jonas At
I believe it was. Is it four or and a half?

Speaker 3 (28:40):
Three and a half?

Speaker 5 (28:41):
Now in DraftKings, it's down to three and a half
down DraftKings, so I'm taking another one, another dog three
and a half. I do think this will be a
tight game. I don't see really either side running away
with it. And I don't see aw you doing to
Orgon what they did to Alabama for example. Obviously the
matchup earlier this season, it took a heroic drive Fernando
man Doza in order to in.

Speaker 6 (29:01):
Order to get that win. So I think it's going
to take the same thing here.

Speaker 5 (29:05):
But I would take Oregon into three and a half
points versus Indiana. But it should be a fantastic game.
And one thing we can assure ourselves of a Big
ten team once again going to the national Championship to
try to carry the flag for the.

Speaker 3 (29:17):
Conference wins wins. That wasn't even the drop that was
in real time so much there was only one game though,
always pretty cool.

Speaker 6 (29:34):
I mean, it's easier, but at the same time, you know,
there's no room for air. I found out last night.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
All right, now, let me ask you this, because I
don't I don't I think fade is too strong of
a word.

Speaker 5 (29:44):
If I had a lean, by the way in the
over under, i'd probably take the under. Both, you know,
both really good defensive teams. It's I think it's that
forty eight and a.

Speaker 6 (29:53):
Half yeast time I checked on DraftKings still there, So
that'd be my lean. But I don't know. I don't
really want to mess with that too much, all.

Speaker 1 (29:59):
Right, So I think, do you guys get good at
this lingo? Like the you know, the gambling lingo? Like
how did y'all get it? Like did y'all practice? Do
you stand in the mirror and look at it and say, oh,
I don't know about the lean here? Hey, I'm confident.

Speaker 5 (30:14):
Why do you ask questions when you when you set
us up to like volleyball, spike things at you Like,
I don't understand that.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
I'm just curious as to how you guys come up
with the lingo. I've been swimming in that swamp for
a long time, okay, But what I'm saying is is
when you jumped into that swamp, like, how did you learn?
Like I don't even know all of the terms.

Speaker 6 (30:36):
You just have to start reading and watching stuff. It's
just the face and watching more stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
There's just like little things that you, you know, you
just pick up, especially if you've been on the losing
end of things like I have.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
It can't be listen, it has to be I mean,
I guess watch. I don't know. Strange to me the
lingo of of gambling that you guys use. I just like,
lean today is a different one. Y'all hit me like,
lean from what I know is something totally different, and
it's a it's a beverage.

Speaker 3 (31:06):
It's kind of lean is kind of if you had
to pick one, If you had to pick one, do
you lean that way or not?

Speaker 1 (31:13):
Okay? Then why not say if I were going to
lean this way on what I'm going to choose. Why
why just say it in a way where it's like, oh, lean.

Speaker 5 (31:22):
So when I just said if I had a lean
on the over under, I take the under that that
wasn't appropriately worded.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
I mean, I guess it was.

Speaker 6 (31:31):
I just it's not saying exactly what you're trying to articulate.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
Maybe now that you guys have cleared it up, I
just don't know, just because there's so much terminology that
you guys use for dambling.

Speaker 9 (31:42):
So like for food, like, oh, you're looking very lean today. No,
lean is like the drink, Well that'd be the other
the other the other definition.

Speaker 3 (31:54):
Yeah, so I don't want to.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
Fade is probably too strong a word.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
But when you said that, when when you said fade
is too strong, what exactly did you do?

Speaker 4 (32:06):
So?

Speaker 3 (32:06):
Fade means a jonas has taking this, take the other one?

Speaker 1 (32:11):
Fading, right, fading, you know, fade because you know in
my community, you know what a fade is, right, Yeah,
that's a fight that was here. That it is, that's
a that's an old term like high top fades. That's
that's a that's an old term. Fade, fading is that's fighting.
That's a fight. Like so if you're saying, Okay, I'm

(32:33):
going to fight you on this gambling like on this
bet in particular, that's we're going to shoot a fade,
you know what I mean? Like this way, you're we're
on two different sides of this.

Speaker 5 (32:43):
Can I give you guys one more piece of betting
information that I find uh kind of fun too. Both
Indiana and Oregon are nine and five against the spread
this year against the number, and they're both four and
one in the last five games. So even if you
were trying to have like any sort of indication based
on how they've been against the line this year, neither

(33:05):
it is going to give you any edge on this.

Speaker 3 (33:07):
Can I all right, so I'm the subject of fading
because I think that's too strong a word here, but imbler, Okay,
that's too strong.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
What's a record?

Speaker 6 (33:24):
Let me scam?

Speaker 3 (33:25):
All right, let me finish? All right? This is my point.
I feel like Brady has been this can't possibly be
real with Indiana for multiple games now, and every single
week you come back and go, son of a bitch,
it's real, like every single.

Speaker 6 (33:42):
But that's where you don't You have to trust the process.

Speaker 5 (33:45):
You can't get away from the process because that's what
Then all of a sudden, they.

Speaker 6 (33:48):
Play a terrible game, they lose, and everyone's going up.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
See that I told you.

Speaker 6 (33:52):
And by the way, it's not just me Vegas if
you if you look at it, Vegas has been off.

Speaker 5 (33:57):
About Indiana all year as well. It's one of the
reasons why they're nine five against the number.

Speaker 3 (34:02):
Well, I mean, if I hope this makes you feel good,
I like Oregon as well too. I'll be betting Oregon.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
Tonight if it was with the points, you like Oregon
with the points.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
I think they're gonna went out right?

Speaker 1 (34:13):
Well, yeah, oh you think they're gonna win? Are they
gonna win out right?

Speaker 6 (34:16):
A little moneylin Actually.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
Dan Lanning, Dan Lanning sticks picks. It feels like he's
kind of figured this whole thing out, like after last year.
It seems like no, no, no, But I'm saying it
from the standpoint of where he looked at last year
and like he's identifying all right now that we're we've
got a year under our belt, like the process going

(34:42):
into this, you know, having a bye week, not having
a bye week. Like he just feels like he's got
those guys ready to go, like they that game against
Texas Tech wasn't close, dude, And it wasn't like Oregon,
Like Dan Lanning, they were so dominant that they just
scored at the end just to get a rhythm going.
They didn't need it, like there was no point. It

(35:02):
was just ye just see, you guys know, we're just
we just need to get our rhythm going. He just
he feels like a man on a mission.

Speaker 1 (35:08):
And I think it's a beast too.

Speaker 4 (35:10):
Man.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
Let me tell you something. He don't get a lot
of a lot of credit. I know he's leaving for
cal at the conclusion of the season, but the defensive
coordinator for Orgon he is He's a guy. Taj is
a guy man. And I like Organ. I like their mentality.
It's like a young dude's mentality. It's like it's like
the hipsters versus the old heads. Right, It's like I

(35:33):
feel like Tonight's game if I was like putting it
in like movie turns, it's like Bronx Tail. But do
the bikers get out of of the bar or do
the old heads whoop their asses like they did?

Speaker 3 (35:44):
You're gonna go outsiders, you know?

Speaker 1 (35:47):
Like the Outsiders is a cool one too. I like
that one too. But I'm just in my mind. I'm like,
all right, you came into the bar. Like to me,
I feel like Dan Lanning and Organ. It's like, all right,
you came into the bar, like I asked you to
leave the bar. You don't want to leave the bar,
all right? Now you can't leave? Like what happens? Then
do the young bucks, like do they handle the old

(36:07):
heads closing the door or do the old heads like
in there? Because I could clearly see Kurt signetty being
the guy that says it, like, Okay, I asked you
guys to leave. Oh y'all don't want to leave? Now, Hey,
y'all close the doors, like now y'all going. And that's
the type of game it's gonna be. They gonna thump.
It's going to be a thump game. They are going
to they are going to battle each other cause you

(36:28):
have two coaches that don't have any type of you know, trepidation,
any type of intimidation, scary business Like neither one of
these coaches have any of that. It's not present at all,
Like no nervous nothing, just we're gonna win. You have
two coaches that way. So I'm pretty excited about this one,

(36:48):
more than more than That's.

Speaker 5 (36:49):
Curious when you bring up Tosh Lapoy, their defensive coordinator
organ is he has taken the California head coaching job,
as has will Stein, the offensive coordinator for organ and
so I always wonder like does.

Speaker 6 (37:01):
That play a factor at all?

Speaker 5 (37:03):
You know, you looked at the Ohio State offense the
last couple of games, as when Brian Hartline was announced as.

Speaker 6 (37:10):
The USF head coach.

Speaker 5 (37:12):
You know, they didn't look the same versus Indiana as
they did the rest of the season, Ryan Day took
over the play calling once they got into the playoff.
It felt like that that offense had a hard time
getting a rhythm. I understand it's happened for other teams too.
I mean, hell, look at Old miss right, like their
entire staff is, you know, balancing that act. But they
also just lost the Miami and they also had moments
where they kind of sputtered a bit. So you do

(37:34):
wonder if the strain on these coaches having to navigate
building their roster, dealing with you know, meetings and zooms
and all this stuff for you know, the other team
that they've got one foot out the door for, if
that plays a factor, Like Indiana doesn't have to worry
about any of that. You know, Indiana's just sitting there,
you know, standing put with with their coaching staff they've had,

(37:54):
and you know, no one's leaving, no one's going anywhere,
and they're just centrally focused on trying to win this
and win a national championship.

Speaker 3 (38:02):
It is two pros and a cup of Joe. Here
on Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox
with you coming up next here though, making moves in
the NFL, and they're not good ones. We'll talk about
that right here on FSR.

Speaker 1 (38:13):
Well, if you want to make a move, we've told
you about the whole pizza before the Hut challenge with quarterbacks, right, yeah,
get it, Loraina. Listen. Pizza Hut has another message for fans.
Don't forget to order Pizza Hut before the first Hut. Yeah,
that's right before jel you get in there, you make
your order, and here's the move. The Big New Yorker.

(38:34):
It's their biggest pizza from well, Pizza Hut, and it's
for the biggest games. So before the first Hut, order
the biggest pizza and uh, make sure you grab the
Big New Yorker and well it'll be able to take
care of you for the whole entire game. And listen. Anyway,

(38:55):
big games are for the weekends. But these were on
Thursday and Friday. And oh yeah, you got pros coming
up as well. But make sure you get involved. Check
it out pizza before the Hut. Yeah that's right, make
sure you order it and make sure you check it out.
In fact, at eight am coming up on this here

(39:16):
very show this morning, be sure to listen right here
to two pros and a cup of Joe. And we're
thanking Pizza Hut for this obviously, because this is an
amazing opportunity for our listeners. We're running a sweepstakes for
you guys. You have the chance to win a three
thousand dollars fan Cave upgrade. Yes you heard me correctly,

(39:39):
a three thousand dollars fan Cave upgrade and a pizza
every week for your your winning for the year from
Pizza Hut. All right, I said eight am. That's coming up,
you know, very shortly, very quickly, Eastern time. I'm two pros.

(40:01):
Listen to us and the segment. All right, now, this
is important. You gotta hear how many huts are said?
All right. There may be ten huts, there may be
two huts, there may be one hut. I don't know
how many it's going to be. You gotta listen at
eight am Eastern segment this morning. Then go to Foxsports

(40:22):
Radio dot com to register. All right, see the rules,
provide your guests, and if your guess is right on
the huts, if you guess correctly, well, a lucky inter
entry will win pizza every week for a year and
a three thousand dollars fan cave upgrade. That is amazing.

(40:45):
That's only from Pizza Hut again. Tune in to this
show today at eight am Eastern and listen for the
word Hut.

Speaker 3 (40:54):
Two pros and a cup of Joe Fox Sports Radio
LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with there coming up
tom next hour, we are going to get back into
the discussion the college football playoffs semi final also apparently
a change of heart in the world of football. We'll
get into that for you right here on FSRRY reminder though,
that this show sponsored by DraftKings sports book and of

(41:16):
Visual Sports Betting, partner of the NFL and NBA, and
right now use the promo code two pros to claim
your special offer DraftKings again. That's Promo Code two pros
at DraftKings. The crown is yours. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers
are looking for another offensive coordinator, Josh Gizzard. Several other
assistants were clipped on Thursday. That's going to be five

(41:40):
offensive coordinators in five years in Tampa, four and four
seasons for Baker Mayfield and Jeremy Fowler of ESPN says
the organization is also discussing the possibility of a true
quote unquote defensive coordinator, as Todd Bowles has been calling
plays since he first got there. So if, like you've

(42:02):
talked about this before, that many offensive coordinators that many
years in a row, that's a lot to ask.

Speaker 5 (42:09):
It's tough, I mean, to start over every single year
trying to develop a relationship with that guy and have
a feel for how he likes to call plays and
get on the same page of what you like what
he likes.

Speaker 6 (42:20):
I mean, it could be a battle at times, honestly,
because there's times when.

Speaker 5 (42:23):
You go through I mean, and some guys, you know,
how they practice a play will give them a better
feel for like if they're going to be able to
execute it successfully in a game. And there's times coaches
like they don't care, like they just they're like, this
concept's gonna work.

Speaker 6 (42:35):
You need to run this.

Speaker 5 (42:36):
And then some quarterbacks are like, hey man, I need
to like throw this, I need to feel it, see
it like I need to do it in practice to
feel confident of being able to do it in a game.
And so there's a lot of those battles in that
learning curve that you have with one another. So it's
tough for Baker. But some good coaches. Man Charlie Strong
was their D line coach. You know, he got let go.
Kevin Ross, a bunch of good coaches got let go.

(42:57):
It's tough, tough times in there in Tampa.

Speaker 3 (43:00):
Bye damn.

Speaker 1 (43:03):
It's just a job.
