(00:53):
listening on the podcast, we appreciate you doing so, as
we are rocking and rolling final hour here on the
show for this Thursday morning. By the way, I wanted
to give a shout out to LaVar Arrington, who yesterday
nearly ruined a little League game without him knowing. I
(01:13):
was the DJ of my son's first little League game
earlier of the year.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
Yeah, and.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
We had a giant speaker. It just a really obnoxious
speaker because I felt bad for the other dugout. They
brought some rinky dink like coffee mug size speaker and
they don't realize I party with Mexicans like it's the
real deal. And so this thing was like a giant speaker.
And in the middle of trying to play the kids
walk up songs, LaVar was calling me and I knew
(01:46):
the based on the conversations. It wasn't something I was
going to be able to have on the phone because
the entire the entire field would have heard what we
talked about. So I had to basically send you to
voicemail a couple of times. It was not not really
intentional to be.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
Well, here's the thing, I only I only called twice.
Speaker 5 (02:04):
And the only reason why there was there's a second
call is because of that new feature on telephones that
when you're in do not disturb.
Speaker 4 (02:12):
Mode, it goes directly to voicemail.
Speaker 5 (02:16):
So that's that's that's the only reason for the second
call was like the second time you think that it's
going to ring the first time, I go straight to voicemail.
Second time it rings. That's like how it works.
Speaker 4 (02:26):
So I never put my phone on do not to step. Well,
that's that's I thought.
Speaker 5 (02:30):
I just I was just in the midst of like
I read the text Boom sent like, I was like,
I know you talked to him. I guess I could
have called Loraina because she's in on it. I mean,
now Loraina is the reason why, so we can put
Lorena out there?
Speaker 4 (02:46):
What happened? Huh what I asked you about? Like, yo,
you know, had you had you spoke to him? You know,
how do you blame us? Now? Oh, isn't that what
the call was about?
Speaker 2 (03:03):
It was not, It was not.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
That was what it was about. That was that was
previous dang stuff together. That was a prior pride moment. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
So uh, but well never met Lorena, so so what
was that there was that fun?
Speaker 5 (03:23):
Do you think people was still like Loraina though, if
the truth of.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
What happened came out, why wouldn't they I don't know,
because they love him. What did I do this time? Oh?
Speaker 5 (03:33):
You got him out of here? Got him up out
of here. Oh yeah, got him up out of here.
I mean it's all there.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
You know I got that Stephan Diggs treatment. Huh that
I tried?
Speaker 6 (03:48):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (03:48):
No, man, all right, okay, how did he end up
doing Stefan Diggs.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
Injury? He was one for two?
Speaker 3 (04:00):
You got a base hit, struck out, still working on
our were placing our feet.
Speaker 5 (04:05):
But he's saying really happy though, Like I lost to
him the other day, he's saying really happy.
Speaker 4 (04:10):
He loves it.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
But it's it's just a real step up from when
you get to he plays for the Brewers, No.
Speaker 4 (04:17):
Blue Jays, blue Jays, the blue Jays blue Jays. Yeah,
so because it's now, how.
Speaker 6 (04:21):
Do you feel about that? By the way, him playing
for the blue Jays.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
Well, he's still he still brainwashes them though. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Yeah, he's making I mean he's going to bring all
of the uh frustrations of his sports betting and fandom onto.
Speaker 6 (04:36):
His son's correct. It's it's unfortunate you're you're passing that down.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
No, I mean, look, I had to deal with it.
He's gonna have to deal with it.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
Didn't they almost won the World Series Blue Jays yea
by about a quarter inch.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
I mean some of us have tried to give Jonas
some like for some other tips to pass down to
his children, but yeah, I don't know that he took
that advice.
Speaker 4 (04:55):
So which was he made.
Speaker 5 (04:57):
Sure he mentions the Cubs immediately following the Blue Jays
though I noticed that as well. Yeah, every time Blue
Jays came out, Cubs was like two three words right
after Yeah, yeah, you got to bury the Blue Jays
with the Cubs.
Speaker 6 (05:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
His his batting helmet is not even a Blue Jay helmet.
It's got the cub lowgoing like you're one of them, dad. Yeah,
And you know, baseball equipment's expensive, so I'm not going
to go out there and splurge at four years old
for him to go get new stuff every year, which
is not happening.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
So it is UH is what it is, all right.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
So with that being said, we mentioned UH the captain
of the s S two c UH Stefan Diggs UH,
and that'll do it for UH, for the UH for
the run of Deshaun or Stefan Digson Diggs whatever, that'll
do it for U. For Stefan Diggs and his time
with the New England Patriots.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
He's gone. Uh, he is out of there.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
Uh, they have released him. Maybe not the biggest surprise
in the world. Still productive. He had a thousand yards
receiving last year, you know, was their top receiver by
a pretty wide margin. But at this age, and that's
also coming off the injury as well too, At this
stage of his career, the off field stuff, I just
(06:17):
wonder what does that market look like for Stefan Diggs
and then where do the Patriots go now, because they
have a clear need when it comes to receiver.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Yeah, he's been on a steady decline since his kind
of twenty twenty season back in Buffalo. You know, that
was really the top of his career at this point,
and he is slowly year by year, depending on what
you want to look at.
Speaker 6 (06:43):
Kind of gone a bit downhill. So he went for
over one.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Thousand yards, but he's he's turned into a receiver that
you know, I don't know that we call him a
true number one anymore. You know, I think he's a
compliment to the passing game and whatever else they have.
And he's obviously experienced and you know, as a precise
route runner.
Speaker 6 (07:03):
That can still separate.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
But you know, maybe the price tag is a bit
too high, Maybe the drama off the field is a
bit too high.
Speaker 6 (07:09):
He's throughout the course of his career. It just it's
odd to me.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
But and I don't know why some guys are like this,
but it seems like he gets to a certain point,
he rubs people the wrong way, and he moves on.
It was like that in Minnesota. There's there's rumors and
rumblings about that. I was like that in Buffalo. He's
in Houston for a year, New England for a year.
It feels like at thirty two, probably you know, turning
thirty three this year, he's probably destined to be one
(07:36):
of those guys who is gonna have to decide what
he wants to do. Either he's gonna be signing for one,
maybe two year deals for as much as he can
to make as much, or he's gonna be, you know,
trying to sign with the team to maybe be a
compliment of what they have to go win a Super Bowl.
And that's the decision that's on the plate for him.
Because he's obviously still productive.
Speaker 6 (07:55):
Enough and a good enough player.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
It just comes down to what he's looking for at
this point in time in his career on the off
the field stuff. Probably wants to side with making more money.
Like that's just my my thoughts all that.
Speaker 5 (08:05):
So, uh, maybe it is a small dosage of Stefan Diggs.
Is what's feasible? I'm you know, you break a thousand yards,
that's definitely. I don't I don't know how many of
those yards are garbage yards, you know, or full calorie yards.
Speaker 4 (08:22):
I'm not. I'm not certain of that, but he you know,
you don't you don't think they're there could.
Speaker 5 (08:27):
Have been garbage time yards. I mean, I don't know,
it could have been two yards. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
But but he can play.
Speaker 5 (08:34):
Stephan Diggs can play, and and he was a obviously
he was a part of what the New England Patriots
were able to do on offense.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
To have the success that they had this year.
Speaker 5 (08:45):
So I think if he still wants to play, I mean,
thirty three is I mean, that's you're getting You're old
for a receiver. That's you're getting old. What's next? I don't,
I don't know, but I would assume he doesn't need
to be looking at it like he's going somewhere to
(09:05):
be the number one, unless it's a team that that
just clearly does not have a number one type of receiver.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
Which where would that be? Where? What market?
Speaker 5 (09:17):
What team would that be Where Stefan Diggs could actually
go and compete and be.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
The number one.
Speaker 5 (09:24):
At this point in his career, I don't see how
feasible that is. So I would if he wants to
continue to play, I think it's more of a he's
a journeyman at this point. You know, his better days
are one hundred percent behind him. I would assume that
I would. I would have no problem saying.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
That it is quarterback and kicker the only position in
the league where thirty three wouldn't be considered old.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
Long snapper, punter as well.
Speaker 6 (09:51):
Long snapper, Yeah, thirty three.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
So I mean, you'd say some of the some of
the best left tackles maybe, you know, or right tackles.
We're seeing that a bit more as they grow older.
They're you know, they've been able to still be at
a high level.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
Trent Williams still out there, Yeah, out they're cooking.
Speaker 5 (10:09):
That's like you can find anomalies like Trent Williams is
not a normal.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Dude, all right, Lane Johnson thirty five, I mean up top, Brady.
Speaker 6 (10:24):
I mean, look Andrew Whitworth played late in his career.
There's there's been a number of tackles that have been
able to do it.
Speaker 5 (10:29):
That's a hard that's a hard position to be able
to anchor at an old age. But if you're going
to it will probably be I mean, tackle is hard,
tackle will be that's that's that's a hard because of
the strength and the speed that's coming off of the edges,
like there's are you pooling?
Speaker 3 (10:51):
Like Trent Williams probably deals with players that are fifteen
years younger than him coming off the edge.
Speaker 5 (10:58):
And that's why you're starting to see some guy has
had more success on him, man, and his body's breaking down.
You know it ain't it ain't not easy run you
said thirty five, that was slaying Johnson.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
Trent Williams older. I think he's thirty eight. He's been
around a while. He's been around a while.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
Let me ask you this, what do you think the
average age is of a starting left tackle in the NFL?
Speaker 5 (11:23):
Average age, I would say eight twenty seven and.
Speaker 6 (11:31):
A half twenty seven seven.
Speaker 4 (11:34):
Yeah, Trent Williams is thirty seven. By the way, gainst
thirty Yeah he's old. Yeah, I would.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Actually argue, I think it's probably the only other position
on the offensive line.
Speaker 6 (11:43):
You know, For for some reason.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
I would say this too, like they're that position if
you're really good at it, like you can do it
for a long time, you know, because and in part
because you don't need the explosion that some of the
other positions need. I mean, obviously to be able to
move and be quick, but you can still be able
to overcome some of what you lose with your mobility,
(12:06):
with your technique, and you're just your knowledge on how
guys are trying to rush you, how guys are trying
to attack you.
Speaker 5 (12:13):
So and tight ends and chippers. You got tight ends
and chippers that prolonged you.
Speaker 6 (12:17):
You got help.
Speaker 5 (12:18):
I think it is weird get rid of chippers. Well,
I don't care about tight ends.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Aren't you sacrificing a guy getting in, you know, running
around to help protect No, because it's a chip.
Speaker 5 (12:31):
It's like an extra you're getting out a chip, hit
them and get out.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
It impacts it, I mean, because it impacts the timing
of it. And even though you're saying, okay, I'm gonna
chip so we have more time. He's also not getting
depth to threaten the defense or to get into the
zone coverage to pull a defender out of a window
so you can throw behind him. So it definitely impacts,
you know, your passing tree and what you're able to do.
I mean mostly when you have chips or any sort
(12:59):
of nudge some of the different verbie they'll use. It's
a three man route concept and you're trying to take
a chunk downfield and you're trying to, you know, find
a way of using those three guys at wide receiver
to run through a zone coverage or some sort of
three man concept to create.
Speaker 6 (13:17):
Either a one on one or you know, a high.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
Low scenario so you get a guy open. You know,
those the chips and nudges, they're never really part of it.
Speaker 6 (13:26):
They're just a check down.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
So like, yeah, it definitely impacts the concept.
Speaker 5 (13:31):
Then they should do away with it because we're in
the past. First League. Now do away with the chip.
Just let that man line up on outside. Don't even
put him in the backfield. I am, I am a
I'm going to get the chip out of the game.
Get it out of there. Nudge chip I don't care
(13:51):
what you want to call it.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
Get it out so you it's a de facto twelfth
Man basically that serves no purpose, like he's just you
want him out there just for for a giggles.
Speaker 5 (14:03):
No, I want them out there to catch passes, not
not the chip blockers. Like you're out there, you're a blocker,
you block the pass rusher, but you're sacrificing another you
know what's funny. I will say that is what stunting
is as well, though. Stunting is chip blocking really, Like
if you run like a tea stunt or ETI, yeah,
(14:27):
you are chipping. That is chipping. So and I don't
know that I will want that. Me and Bruce there,
Bruce Smith broke the record off of chipping.
Speaker 4 (14:38):
You know.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
There are some uh some lineman who get absolutely ear
holed too by guys up funny to do that, like
they don't see it coming and the defender just fricking
blows up.
Speaker 5 (14:51):
Oh it's a beautiful thing. See when it's us doing it,
I love it. But when it's a back doing it,
I think it's.
Speaker 6 (14:57):
What's funny to me.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
And sometimes you'll see those guys and the around they'll
have a free run at the quarterback.
Speaker 6 (15:02):
But they're so intent what they're supposed to do, they'll just.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
Blow up the lineman or they'll blow up the back
or whoever it is that's trying to pick them up.
Speaker 5 (15:10):
That's true too. Yeah, but you come free. You see that,
You see that quarterback and it's free. It's like, oh
my god, I came free. And you run right, you
go so hard, so fast, you go right past like
I can't free.
Speaker 4 (15:26):
It worked for me.
Speaker 5 (15:30):
Right past them spin moves like they spin out of
it and go outside of it. You're like, oh man,
come on, man, you can't miss that. But you could
get in there. It can come free. But yeah, it
is chipping. I guess it is on the defensive line,
but they need to do away with it on the
offensive side of the ball.
Speaker 4 (15:47):
Give us a win. That needs to be done, and
in the next two years or so two seasons.
Speaker 6 (15:53):
It just come back full circle.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
Yeah you know, yeah, I don't know that.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
You know, Stefan Diggs is free at any point in time,
So he's gotta he's got to figure out a new home.
Speaker 4 (16:04):
A lot of Yeah, sure you're going to be into DMV.
Chilling shouts out to Meyer. What up, Myron? You're gonna
be hanging out with Vernon and Myron? Hey, what's up?
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Vernon?
Speaker 7 (16:15):
I forgot to tell you guys my twosy story.
Speaker 4 (16:18):
Uh oh, save that for later. Oh you want that
in the leftovers?
Speaker 3 (16:22):

Speaker 3 (18:39):
By the way, I saw that you weren't a big
fan of SGA's wardrobe choice post game for the Oaklahoma.
Speaker 9 (18:48):
I mean it's just like I know this, like if
I was wearing that inside, I would be sweating my
act would I would? I felt hot for him looking
at that, But uh, didn't it look It didn't look
like a badger was wrapped around his neck, wrapped around
his deck. And that didn't that I wrong about that?
Speaker 4 (19:10):
That's fair? So this fair comp that's a fair comp.
Speaker 9 (19:15):
Oh gosh, Brady, where is that jacket your rotation?
Speaker 3 (19:19):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (19:20):
Yeah, I don't have anything like that.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
We were talking about that earlier and we're actually just curious,
like how that thing gets made, and and LeVar enlightened
us that he had a white wolf jacket like that.
Speaker 5 (19:34):
I don't know that that's how everybody gets their their coats, though,
I mean I was.
Speaker 4 (19:38):
More wait a minute, LaVar.
Speaker 9 (19:41):
LaVar was made of a white wolf.
Speaker 4 (19:43):
Yeah, exactly, that's white wolf.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
Fascinating right, Like, I was like, how does this happen?
How do you find a white wolf? It was scared
to kill it.
Speaker 4 (19:50):
It was wolf.
Speaker 9 (19:52):
I mean I always think like a white wolf would
be relatively rare, right.
Speaker 5 (19:56):
Like I think, I don't know how rare they are.
I just wanted to us I wanted a wolf fur coat.
That's what I wanted.
Speaker 4 (20:04):
But I did my homework, and again, it was a rescue.
It was not.
Speaker 5 (20:10):
I got it from. I got it from a place
where they rescue.
Speaker 4 (20:14):
It was a rescue.
Speaker 9 (20:18):
Killed it.
Speaker 4 (20:19):
They did not kill the wolf.
Speaker 5 (20:20):
The wolf was not killed for it's it's uh for
its fur, that's correct. It passed away in captivity and
then it was used to warm me. That might be
a horrible for it, but that's what happened. I mean,
that's the way to go out anyway. I mean, you know, pack,
(20:45):
it is a pack. Can I assure you, well, I
don't know what the wolf's afterlife was, but it's fur
was was in my closet.
Speaker 4 (20:56):
That wolf lived a three time pro bowler afterlife. You know,
That's what I never in.
Speaker 5 (21:00):
Hawaii Uh, Miles Garrett got a speeding ticket?
Speaker 4 (21:06):
Is that? Is that big news?
Speaker 5 (21:07):
When you're it seems like didn't Shador get a speeding ticket?
Speaker 8 (21:12):
Is it?
Speaker 5 (21:12):
I mean, are they just not relaxed on guys driving fast?
And was he in Cleveland when this happeny is.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
Cleveland the professional version of Georgia? Is that what this
is becomeing?
Speaker 3 (21:23):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (21:23):
Wow?
Speaker 9 (21:25):
Yeah? I mean I like, I like, I think he
just Miles characters ris up Kurry smash recruiting board there right.
Speaker 4 (21:33):
I mean, you know, it's it's fair.
Speaker 3 (21:36):
What's you get like nine now, like seven or eight
or nine speeding tickets something like that for Miles Garrett
at this point.
Speaker 9 (21:43):
I honestly like so as someone who had a lot
of speeding tickets when he was a teenager, I did.
I can remember stuff like I better chill out for
a little while at least, because you know, it's easy
to it's pretty it's relatively easy to to go a
little faster than you attend to on the highway and
(22:03):
everything else. I do remember getting a few speedy tickets
and you know, my radar going up, like maybe I should,
maybe I should be a little more careful about this,
you know, and as a teenager, that was like a
lot of money that that that was going out the doors.
So you know, I I don't know, like a lot
of these guys obviously have really nice cars that can
(22:25):
go really fast without much effort, and you know, gotta
be a little more careful of that. Gotta be a
little more careful of that.
Speaker 5 (22:34):
I wonder what the vehicle was, because you can go
fast and not know you're going fast. I mean, I
sound crazy, but yeah, you can go past the space.
Speaker 4 (22:43):
You can.
Speaker 9 (22:44):
It's true. I mean, like if you're on like a
if you're on like a long road trip, like I
found myself. I'm on road trips and like, holy crap,
I'm going I'm like going ninety three, you know what
I mean? Like that does happen? And I think with
the cars that you might have, it might be easier
to get there that even in a situation like that.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
And I can envision that scenario for you, Albert. You know,
you're going to a hockey tournament. You know, maybe there's
some unruliness in the back seat and your better half
is just laying down the law, which I think we've
we've heard on the show once once you're once before,
so UH, I can see that scenario where you're like
pedal to the metal. I need to get the hell
out of this vehicle. We've all been as as as
(23:25):
husbands and dats.
Speaker 9 (23:26):
We've been. We've been, We've been a captivity for two whiles.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
I want to ask you about any update with Max
Crosby and a trade ensuing. Obviously as the beginning of
the new league year, UH approaches. Who's the best suitor,
who's going to make a play for him?
Speaker 9 (23:46):
Yeah, you know, I think at this point, really what
what what you're looking at is the Raiders sitting back
and letting the Marky come to them, and you know
they're asking right to tie what should be. He's a
great player, and you know, I think for everyone involved,
the best scenario, best case scenario is that something is
(24:07):
agreed to by early next week, because you know, for
these other teams, you know, if you need net Rusher,
you got to make a decision on whether or not
you're going to pursue Trey Hendrickson or adopt AOA or
jail and fill up. So one of the guys that
will be out there next week, you know, and and
then you know, as far as the Raiders are concerned,
(24:28):
this is probably the biggest fool of candidates that you're
going to have, because once we get passed next week,
you're talking about cast budgets, cast budgets being spent. They're
talking about rosters being filled and holes being plugged, and
so like you get to that, you gotta you have
passed next week, and now all of a sudden, like
everything sort of shifts and change, you know, And so
(24:51):
you know, I do think over the next few days
this is this is at least gonna take shape for
the Raiders, and they're gonna have to make some decisions
on whether or not the value in fart of them
is worth. Uh, it's worth moving on from that. And
you know, we've been up through all the history with
the knee injury and everything that happened with you know,
Brady Guerrero and and all that, like from December. So
(25:15):
you know, like as far as teams that will be involved,
like you know, Chicago, Tampa, New England, Uh, you know,
I thought Seattle for a while. I'm not sure they're
gonna be willing to meet the price to get there,
but they were one that at least initially showed some interest.
Uh you know, Philadelphia I think as an interest. So
(25:37):
you know, you've got I think a healthy number of teams.
I think, you know, around the border of the league
is going to be in this. It has been in this,
and you know, I think over the next few days
you sort of hit one of those checkpoints where a
deal could be done. Doesn't mean it's going to be done.
Uh you know that might the Parsons stared asking for
I've din at the little rich for the blood of
most teams just because you know, like some of the deals.
(26:00):
But deal for Michael has done. Michael at twenty four
years old. Max is gonna be twenty nine when the
twenty twenty six season starts. So it's it's not the
same thing, you know, but certainly I think they're gonna
be some good offers in front of the Raiders over
the course of the next couple of days, and then
they'll step to big a calm, whether it's the time.
Speaker 4 (26:18):
To do it or not. Albert Brier joining us here
on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
I just wanted to follow up on something because there
was the report out from Mike Silver of The Athletic
that described, you know, Raiders players, people within the building
not happy about Alex Guerrero's presence. And I know, obviously
you being close to New England and working and covering
that franchise as well too and talking to people, how
(26:44):
real of an issue is that Alex Guerrero now having
some influence in Las Vegas with the Raiders.
Speaker 9 (26:52):
I think it's something that I've gotten an Allales over
the years. I think he's he's a really good guy,
you know. I think like it's the thing that was
maybe jarring to the people there is the number of
people that report to him, the way that's structured, you know,
and that like he is in a real position of
(27:13):
power there now, you know, And so he went from
kind of being like the body coach for players. He'll
going back a couple of years when uh, you know,
when Brady first bought into the team to now like
having having a real role, you know, and and having
real power, and so you know, you have that and
(27:34):
then you attach to that his you know, obvious relationship
with Brady and the fact that Brady's not there every day,
but there's a perception that everybody there sort of answers
to Brady, and like I mean just just envision like
it being your workplace, right, and you know that there's
somebody that somebody answers to, but he's not there every day.
(27:57):
And then there's this guy in the building. It's sort
of seen as I don't know, like his eyes in
the ears there, you know, that would be a little weird, right,
Like that would kind of like be a little funky.
And I think that that's sort of the way that
this is set up, and is do the Raiders need
to clean that up a little bit? I think they
(28:18):
probably do, you know you because Guerrero does have a
hands on roll with the players too, you know, so
it's a different setup. I like, I all, this looks
like a year from that, two years from now, we'll see.
Uh we've seen these sorts of things in the past.
That one's like a little unique, and that Brady's a
(28:40):
limited partner. He's not the he's the controlling owner, but
obviously he he carries he carries a big stick in
that organization, and uh, you know, I think most of
the decision making there at least runs through him. And
so you're having somebody like Guerrero on hand and has
(29:00):
complicated that a little bit and looked like I think
that's I mentioned his name be guys a bunch over
the last couple of months, that communication issue that was
there with Max, like that was the part of all
of it, you know, and Max is feeling that when
they shut him down with two games left, it was
in an effort to get the number one overall pick.
But Allance is involved in that too, and that's where
I think some of this this blew up with Max
(29:22):
and it's it's something that I think, does you know,
need to be addressed and maybe streamlined a little bit.
Speaker 5 (29:30):
Abe the Chiefs, they just had a major trade take place.
They obviously sent Trent McDuffie to the Rams and got
compensation for that. I mean, I've made it a point
to say, I mean, there's a possibility that the window
(29:50):
is closing on on the Kansas City Chiefs, but that's
just one person's opinion. What do we take away from
this trade from an industry perspect Yeah.
Speaker 9 (30:01):
I would say like this is sort of, you know,
part of the reality of having a bass that's been
a little stopping heavy over the years, right and trying
to manage all of that, and so you know where
they are going forward now, I would say, this kind
of goes back a year where they had drafted really well,
(30:23):
and this is sort of the result with Tyreek Hiltrade,
where they had a ton of picks and they hit
on a bunch of guys. And so when you hit
a bunch of a bunch of guys at once the
way that they did, you have, you know, some moving
parts and tough decisions take. So last year they started
the process of resigning some of those guys. So they
resigned Nick Bolton, they re signed George carl Offtis, they
(30:46):
resigned Tray Smith, they resigned Creed Humphrey, and so you've
got all of these guys that have become in a
goal march for them, and you're resigning all of those guys.
So as part of that, they made an effort to
try to resign and Trent mcdufty and I think last
year they were pretty far apart, and the Stingley deal
and the saw Stardner deal affected all of that. And
(31:09):
so now they come into this offseason and the price
has only gone up, and I think there was like
a recognition like this is going to be really challenging
to do a deal. And so the same way that
the DeVante Adams trade and contract in twenty twenty two
affected things with Tyreek. Those other negotiations affected things here
(31:33):
with Trent mcdufty and opened the door for that discussion, Okay,
are we better off doing the same thing with Trent
that we did with Tyreek four years ago? And I
think the answer was yes. You know, the answer was like,
let's restock. We'll have a ton of draft picks this year.
We got an extra pick next year, and we'll have
(31:54):
a chance to do what we did a few years ago,
which was which is make the roster a lot younger
and add more players on rookie contracts. So like, that's
sort of the nuts and bolts of it and the
economics of it.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Will it work?
Speaker 9 (32:08):
I mean that all the times I'm getting a draft picks, right,
you know. But I do think that there was a
feeling that they were they were going to need to
restock the core and get younger core players on the Rocks,
so particularly with the fact that Travis Chelsea and Chris Chell,
who been such a seller, aren't going to be around
for very much longer.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
Hey, Al, we talked about Aaron Rodgers earlier and Pittsburgh
and just the decision that is on the horizon for
both sides of that. But I foresee this working out.
Do you feel like Rogers is potentially done if he
comes back? Is only Pittsburgh? Is there other teams or
another team in the mix in your mind?
Speaker 9 (32:49):
Yeah, I did the biggest probably Pittsburgh or or Bus. Now,
like I guess you couldn't rule up the Minnesota thing,
and like, yeah you want I played there last year
and if Kevin O'tonald picked up the phone, you know,
and and said like, I'd love for you to be
at quarterback for a year, like because that's so a
(33:10):
monkey wrench, just the whole thing that's possible. I would
say this for Air, I have no idea what he's
gonna do, right, Like I think only he knows. But
what I can say is like my experience with him
and talking to him when I have over the last
few years, is I do think that like the experience
(33:32):
of Pittsburgh last year rekindled his love of football, and
that's really what he's been looking for the last few years,
is like I want to get back to enjoying the
sport and I want to enjoy when I have left.
As far as my ability to play the sport at
the highest level, and even the last year and the
way that he had hoped there was that like all right,
(33:54):
like this is great, you know, and I love playing
football game, I love being around my teammates, and he
had a great experience playing for Mike Tomlin. And now
it comes like McCarthy back into the into the conversation,
and it's like a lot of guys are staff who
wearing a relationships with and so it just sets up
in a way where if he does want to play
(34:15):
football again, there's a very nice comfortable landing spot there
right where he was last year. Again.
Speaker 10 (34:22):
Does he do it?
Speaker 9 (34:23):
I don't know, but I would say things line up where,
you know, if he does want to play another year,
it's I think it'd be really comfortable for him to
do it. This.
Speaker 3 (34:34):

like five minutes.
Speaker 7 (36:56):

Speaker 10 (37:02):
He's like, my tousy? I know I left it somewhere
and I was I looked at him. I was like,
I'm sorry, did you actually say tousy?
Speaker 7 (37:11):
Like you actually?
Speaker 10 (37:12):
He's like, yeah, yeah, I had a whole little baggy
And I'm like, what I really thought it was imaginary?

And you remembered that from this show from the story.

Yes, I brought up you Jonas and how you say

Yeah, wow, yeah, that I ought to show you though

Speaker 5 (37:44):
I'm one sure me and you will agree in a
line on this one, which is, what have you heard
me say anything?
Speaker 4 (37:53):
Damn?
Speaker 6 (37:55):
He is correct?
Speaker 4 (37:56):
All right?
Speaker 7 (37:58):
All right, Well, I do have more crazy bird stories
for you, fellas today.
Speaker 10 (38:01):
Yesterday we had the seagull that was hit out of
the air of the soccer game that got resuscitated, but.
Speaker 1 (38:08):
Real quick compared seagulls, I think you meant pigeons like
you were basically making seagulls out to be pigeons. No,
seagulls are not like that bad of a bird. The
pigeons are nasty. They're most flying rats in like most
big cities.
Speaker 3 (38:23):
They're they're both, they're both. They're not a bad Seagulls
are dumpster divers. Can I give the comparison. Let me
give the comparison. Seagulls are like surfers. Dude. Pigeons are
like skaters, same type of dude, but different.
Speaker 5 (38:47):
You know, they both will they both will thrash. They
can thrash, you know, gleam the cube, all that stuff.
But they're different, the same but different. Like they had
very like, are very very nasty, but so are seagulls.
Seagulls are very nasty.
Speaker 4 (39:04):
Too in the world. They are. And they're bold too.
They'll walk up on your They'll walk up and eat
your food right front of you.
Speaker 7 (39:11):
Where do flamingos fall on this list?
Speaker 4 (39:15):
They got bigger cats than me.
Speaker 10 (39:16):
Well, a tourist that was visiting Sin City from Canada
was staying at the Flamingo and actually broke into the habitat,
took a flamingo and injured multiple in the process of
trying to capture this one flamingo. Yeah, he took the
flamingo into the elevator and up to his room with him.
Speaker 6 (39:38):
What did he do?
Speaker 4 (39:39):
Selfies?
Speaker 7 (39:40):
He took selfies with.
Speaker 4 (39:42):
What a disgusting dude?
Speaker 2 (39:45):
That is Jesus.
Speaker 6 (39:48):
What the heat?
Speaker 4 (39:49):
Okay, what's the obsession with birds? Man? Your bird?
Speaker 3 (39:55):
What?
Speaker 9 (39:55):
What?
Speaker 4 (39:55):
What's what's the what's this bird thing?
Speaker 7 (39:57):
I don't know. It seems to be birds season?
Speaker 3 (39:59):
How how butchered was that guy that he went and
I took a flamingo.
Speaker 2 (40:06):
Home to go?
Speaker 9 (40:08):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (40:09):
I mean how big was this flamingo?
Speaker 5 (40:11):
Like the flamingo is a full size flamingo. It's just
going to let him take him. It's going to take
me in the elevator. Oh do you think that you
used your beak or something?
Speaker 7 (40:24):
Yeah, I don't know the state of Peaches. That is
the name of the one that was taken.
Speaker 4 (40:28):
So it was a girl, Yeah, yeah, I got that right.
Speaker 7 (40:31):
Hey, bro, I'm going to send you a picture of
Peaches and the man in the hallway.
Speaker 4 (40:36):
So maybe she wanted to go. Honestly, this was in Vegas.
Speaker 7 (40:43):
Yeah, I would want to spread my wings too.
Speaker 4 (40:46):
Yeah, we know, damn, but what what why
