Speaker 1 (00:47):
It's like a turn up song, just trying to change
it up a little bit, a little beat, little something.
You know, it's not bad, just trying to be different
than Jonas and his like same old like.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
Yeah, if you pick it's a good song, you wouldn't
have to change it so many times.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
I know.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
That's the problem is there's plenty of great songs out there.
You just don't think that.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
By the way, Coop, I might go Slay or Rain
and Blood.

Frisco senior NFL columnist for CBS Sports, CBS Sports HQ analyst,
our smooth operator. And if you want some of that
smoke on social media, you can get it at Prisco's
CVS peak.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Good morning.

Speaker 5 (02:03):
I was expecting a lot of Brady Quinn smoke in
the last yesterday. I wanted to see why is it what.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
I'm not like going after guys and be look at
Bozoy clown. I'm just like stating facts.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
I don't know why people think that's like being uh,
you know, smoke or like going after it with people.

Speaker 5 (02:22):
About what guy's not playing.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
In the bowl game, which again you've always said that,
so you know, to.

Speaker 5 (02:28):
Ask you that that's what that's what. The amazing thing
is that he finally has come over to my thought.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
First off, I've never I've never disagreed with you. We've
talked about that in regards to like the playoffs one thing,
but not like these exhibition games.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
Right, that's all they are exhibition games exactly.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
And I've said that with you.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Yeah, this, I'll put it this way.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
I'll put it this way.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
I really thought you were going to get on and
make this statement, which you have not so far, but
you will. When college football, which is the pageantry of
the history, the history of attrition, all that, there's so
many really cool things about it. This is the ugly
part about it now is when you compare it to
what the NFL is, outside of the fact that it's
you know, bigger markets and all that stuff, is the

(03:11):
NFL actually is able to determine like they're champion in
a manner that like there's no disputing it.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Everyone pretty much agrees with it.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
Maybe we'd say, like, hey, if you win your division
with a losing record, maybe you shouldn't host homefield. I
don't know, but for the most part, it's a format
that we all agree with. I don't know that anyone's
ever been happy with the playoff at four teams twelve
teams regardless.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
So this is the one ugly part.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
I think a college football that NFL easily has over
college football.

Speaker 5 (03:40):
But yeah, you win it on the field, and you
don't have you don't have a beauty pageant, judges deciding
who goes and who does that.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
I mean that's or or another way of putting it.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
You don't have like Las Vegas and Cleveland get a
couple of spots to play in the playoffs when they're
already out of it kind of you know what I'm saying,
Like like a lesser level team getting in where you
know they're not gonna have any shot of winning it.
It's just like, hey, we're glad you had a great season.
Let's see how things go here.

Speaker 5 (04:07):
Look, and this this isn't I know, you're taught not
talk just because Notre Dame got left out, because by
the way, Notre Dame should be in Alabama should be out, period,
end of story. That's the way it should be.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
As a Obama fan.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Most people watch the games, they go, yeah, this Bama
team is not a Nick Saban Dama team.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
They're not very good.

Speaker 5 (04:22):
I'm sorry, no, And the quarterback is regressed in a
big way in the last five weeks and you can't
start it. It should be Notre Dame and Miami. But
if you really want to get down to it, let
me come on, James Madison and Tulane, if you were
having the true playoff, they wouldn't be in. That's the reality.
You know, you.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Shop they fired.

Speaker 5 (04:43):
Well, I mean, seriously, this isn't This isn't special.

Speaker 6 (04:46):
Seasons can't be rewarded with having an opportunity to see
I am thoroughly intrigued to see if they get their
asses beat like everybody thinks they are, or they pull
off an upset somebody at some point, at some at
some point, somebody's going to have an upset.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
I'm just saying, somebody's going. I would love for it.

Speaker 5 (05:12):
It'd be like in the old days when they used
to have the Cinderella in March. Man, If they win
a game in the first round and they get plastered
by forty the next week, I mean, come on, it
doesn't work. And you do you think James Madison or
tou Lane as a jot, do you seriously they're there.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
They aren't the right to be there. They aren't right.

Speaker 6 (05:31):
Everybody, Hey, listen, you gotta wake up, and you gotta
put one foot down on the floor, one down, one
out of time, just like the other team does.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Just like the other team does.

Speaker 5 (05:41):
They barely won their championship the other night. I mean,
come on, then it shouldn't.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
Be, but they want it.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
We'll also point out this to LeVar that I don't
know if he's aware again, Old miss played you know
this matchup already this season where they saw the outchey.

Speaker 6 (05:56):
You said it, they realized they get a they've seen this,
they get another go at it, They get to redeem themselves.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
What if they go out there and spank them boys.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Like join the AAC and they wipe the floor of
the AC every year and they get the automatic bid.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Who's that? Who?

Speaker 2 (06:14):
As I'm saying, like a.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Team's basically you just join a lower yet one repeated
and then they go in every year.

Speaker 5 (06:20):
You're right, it's a bad it's a bad system. We
know that. And it's and and the whole college football
is bad. Right now, let's.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Because LaVar said something
Pete that I think you're gonna love. He believes that
the Chiefs are done. That's a rep put a fork out,
he's calling it. He's seth Rickersham esque like calling the
Patriots before they actually were truly done.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
But LeVar is calling them put a fork and then
they're done.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
They're done.

Speaker 5 (06:49):
Wait, done this year or done period?

Speaker 3 (06:51):
Done forever? Done?

Speaker 5 (06:53):
Oh my god, that's ridiculous. The Mahomes, Are you serious? None?

Speaker 3 (06:58):
I'm superman, is there?

Speaker 6 (07:00):
Bruh?

Speaker 5 (07:01):
Okay, let me ask you this. Let me ask you this.
That's a pretty good Texans defense, right They played with
Dowt three offensive linemen and they still had a chance.
They still had a real chance to win that game.
They're done forever, LeVar?

Speaker 3 (07:14):
At what point? At what point do we don't?

Speaker 6 (07:16):
LeVar me like like like, oh my gosh, your point
is Hey look here, Pete, I said it and I
mean it. What I see out of this cas down
that Kansas City Chiefs game was a must win game
for them. I've said it all along. The fair factor

(07:36):
of the Kansas City Chiefs, the mystique has worn out.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
It has run its course. Look at the tread. If
you put a quarter.

Speaker 6 (07:45):
In there and you can see the the head of
George Washington. You need a new tire. This team's tires
are bolting. It's done. It's done. The Kansas City Chiefs right,
it must win at all and you can't win in
Kansas City Kingdom.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
It's done.

Speaker 5 (08:05):
Well, they're done it. They're probably done this year, but
done as in done with number fifteen playing courters. Yes,
they're done.

Speaker 6 (08:11):
Yes, done as in done as in the code has
been cracked, and now that their defense isn't bailing them
out so that people can continue to talk about how
good Patrick Mahomes is when he's been bailed out the
last couple of years by the defense to begin with. Yes,
even Patrick Mahomes, it is done.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Done. Put a fork in.

Speaker 5 (08:35):
Let make sure, let's make sure you clip this in
about five years from now, let's pull it back out
again and then we can all laugh in LaVar states.
How about that?

Speaker 6 (08:44):
And you know what this is media, So I don't
care like if it changes. If three four years from
now they've become a good team again, I'll lie. I'll
just say you know what I said that they would
be back all along.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
That's all.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
I have no problem.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
I can have revisionist history. It's two three years from.

Speaker 6 (09:05):
Now, LeVar, I'm joking. I am joking, but I am
not joking about them being done. They are done, just
so clear.

Speaker 5 (09:15):
Probably done. They're probably done this year, but they're not
done done. Quarterback, you're out of your mind.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
That's a safe it's a safe assessment. Pete.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
Let me ask you about another team that I think
is not only done this year, but has put themselves
in a tough spot. So when the Colts made the
move to trade for sauce Gardener and they gave up
what they gave up to get him, the thought was,
you know, we're pretty much going all in this year.
Then Daniel Jones has a broken fibula, then he tears

(09:44):
his achilles, sauce Gardner is banged up. Now that feels
like they really rolled the dice.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
And if you.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
Compare their first half of the season to what the
second half has looked like so far, they're also not
going to make the playoffs and have set themselves back
the moves they made for years to come, and feels.

Speaker 5 (10:02):
Like, yeah, they're done. And by the way, they were
gonna have a tough time whether Daniel Jones was in
the lineup anyways. I mean, I thought they were gonna
lose yesterday, and you know, he threw a terrible interception
to start the game. And then look at their schedule.
I mean, they went they were going to Seattle next week.
They have the Niners and the Texans left. I mean,
the schedule is just brutal. And so I thought they

(10:22):
were done anyways, but now with him not being there,
they're really done. And here's the other part of it.
You talk about that trade for Sauce Gardner. You know,
the last time the Colts won the division, Andrew Luck
was the quarterback. Every team in the division has won
it at least twice since Dave last won it. So
if you look at Chris Ballard and what he's done,

(10:43):
I think that you know, you make that move because
you are all in, and now you're all in and
you don't have those draft picks. So they have big problems,
no question about it. You know, I don't. You guys
know an Achilles better than me, But it's he gonna
play next year with that Can he play.

Speaker 6 (10:56):
Next That's what I was saying. He walked off the
field though, So I don't know. That's and we I
brought that up earlier. I don't know the severity of
the tear. I think it all depends on the severe
If he fully ruptured it, that's gonna take a little while.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
That's I do believe that's. I don't know the severity either.
But it's kind of like an a c l if
it's partially torn or fully torn. Aren't you just going
back and reattaching regardless like.

Speaker 6 (11:23):
You have you do have, no, you do have to.
It's different if you have to pull it down out
of the calf muscle.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
Pete LeVar said earlier that it's gonna take Dana Jones
longer to come back because he's white.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
What are your thoughts, Yeah, he said, he doesn't recover
as well.

Speaker 5 (11:39):
I have no idea what the hell he thought?

Speaker 6 (11:44):
Show the fact that you went along with what they
just did, and you you you said that about me,
The way you did it shows what our relationship dynamic is.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
You know what, you'll sell me out. I get it now,
all right, I got you.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
I getcomfortable.

Speaker 5 (12:01):
I thought they were trying to stir the pot out here.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
You get uncle can we talk about the Juars.

Speaker 5 (12:07):
Though, Yeah, what about him?

Speaker 2 (12:09):
I mean, you are the mayor of Jacksonville. You could see,
you know, their coach is fired up.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
After the game. Trevor Lawrence all playing better in a sloppy,
sloppy weather game.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
I just talk to me about your Jaguars, Man nine
and four bawling right now.

Speaker 5 (12:24):
Well, they're not my Jaguars, but the reality is is
that they're going to win the division and and and
they're going to have a chance to be the number
two seed. They go to Denver in a couple of weeks,
in that game could decide who's the number two seeds.
So look, he's done a great job with that team.
And one thing that's kind of I don't know if
everybody's overlooking it, but getting to Kobe Myers has helped
the entire offense because Trevor Lawrence trusts him, he knows

(12:47):
what he's going to do, he knows where he's going
to be. And not only that, Jakobe Myers has helped
Brian Thomas. He's a pros pro and Brian Thomas is
now starting to make plays. And so I think that
offense has come alive and you know, defensively they're number
one in the league against the run, And are they
that good? And that you know, probably not when you
look at it, man the man, they're not, But that

(13:09):
guy's done a really good job Campanelly with that defense.
And so look, they're gonna be in a in a
year when nobody's that good. They're capable of making a
little run just as like, just like anybody else in
the league. Is who in the AFC when you look
at it on paper? Who in the AFC is a
team that you fear? Do you fear the Patriots or
the Broncos?

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Houston? Houston?

Speaker 3 (13:29):
Know that's the Houston's.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Yeah, Houston will give you problems and is gonna.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
Give a lot of We got problems you stad.

Speaker 5 (13:41):
But I mean, but Jacksonville led that by nineteen in
the fourth quarter about a month ago and blew the game. Look,
it's there's no great team. I think it's going to
be the most wide open AFC playoffs. We said it
a long time and probably even in the NFC.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
Can we talk about the Eagles then, because we got
a Monday night football matchup tonight. It feels like their
backs are somewhat against the wall the way they've been
playing of late. But you can make maybe the same
case about the Chargers. Give us a little preview of
how you have picked this game, how you see a
plan out.

Speaker 5 (14:10):
Yeah, I think the Eagles are gonna win. That guy.
I think the Chargers you talked about the Chargers are
in trouble. The Chargers are in trouble, you know. I
mean they're desperate. Yeah, the offensive line the mess and
they you know, they put the salary in at left
tackle last week and he did a better job than
everybody else who played over there. But they still have
major issues on the offensive life. Plus you know, Brady,
you would know this better than me. But the hand injury,

(14:31):
how is that going to impact him when he when
he's Yeah, and so it changes the way you play
a little bit. I think the Eagles they've had Obviously,
they got blown off the ball last week against the Bears.
I mean they were just hammered through the run game.
And now you've got to go back out and play
a team that really doesn't run the ball very well.
So I think that plays to them. Even without Jalen Carter,
I think the offense will get going. Give the ball

(14:52):
to Barkley. Give the ball to Barkley. Gives the ball
to Barkley. Stop with the receivers complaining, and you know,
mopen even when they catch eight for one point thirty.
I mean, just stop it and go give the ball
to Barkley. You go win the game. I think the
Eagles win the game. I think they're the more physical team.

Speaker 4 (15:06):
Tonight, Pete Presco joining us here on Fox Sports Radio,
Go ahead, No good, Pete. The uh Tampa Bay Buccaneers,
who you spoke glowingly about in your training camp tours
before the year, look like a shell of themselves as
well too.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
I don't know what the hell that.

Speaker 4 (15:27):
Was against New Orleans or they eight and a half
point favorites or something along those lines at home, ending
up losing outright. But now all of a sudden they
find themselves in a fight in a division they should
have walked through with the Carolina Panthers. What do you
make of the Tampa Bay struggles?

Speaker 5 (15:44):
Yeah, I think Baker bayfields hurt and at worst than
he's leading on. And because since he's been hurt, you
know officially which happened in the Rams game, end played
very well and I think he got hurt in the
forty nine Ers game before that, and just you know,
he's such a competitor at times, he's not going to out.
I already didn't even want to come out of the
Rams game, and he was, you know, couldn't even throw
the football. So I think he's hurt not playing well.

(16:06):
I think the injuries have taken their toll in a
lot of ways. I mean, yesterday played without worse at
left tackle. He's one of the best of the business.
Didn't play. They've been playing without the right guard all year.
They had it, you know, early in the season, they
didn't have anybody on that offensive line. He was supposed
to play in their normal position. Mike Evans isn't there.
And that's the thing about Mike Evans, you know, I
have one time during the summer I asked Baker about

(16:26):
it and he said, look, our offense. You know what
our offense is Mike Evans in the run game. Mike
Evans in the run game, and Mike Evans isn't there,
and that changes the whole dynamic of their offense. And defensively,
they don't rush the passer well enough. You know, they
thought Reddick would come in there and really choose it up,
and he hasn't and he's this time. So here's the thing. Yet,
win the two games against Carolina, You're in the playoffs.

(16:48):
Get ready for the playoffs. That's as simple as it
is for them, and they could win it different ways.
But if they win two games against Carolina and they
play them in two weeks, once at Carolina and then
at the end of the year at home, they'll be
in the in the playoffs, and it's it all about
getting right for the playoffs, and by then you should
Mike Evins back.

Speaker 6 (17:05):
Pete, let me let me ask you about the Miami Dolphins.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
They are a sneaky team right now.

Speaker 6 (17:12):
And listen, not not for competitor's sake and in terms
of them going to the playoffs or even contending for
the division, but quietly they've gone on a five and
one run and they're almost after one game away from
five hundred with a quality win, mind you, against the

(17:33):
Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
I guess I should.

Speaker 6 (17:37):
Say, is it safe to say that Mike Daniel has
a Daniel Daniels?

Speaker 3 (17:43):
Why do I always mess up his name? Is it plural?

Speaker 5 (17:45):
Whatever?

Speaker 3 (17:45):
Do we put the ass on it? McDaniels, No, it's
not McDaniel. You're not gonna get me with that. I
know it's Daniel, but I don't know if it's Daniels
or Dad.

Speaker 5 (17:55):
I got Daniel?

Speaker 3 (17:58):
Is it Mike McDaniel. T. J.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Williams says the exact same problem. Dude, he doesn't there's
an or not.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Mike McDaniels, Josh McDaniels, Mike McDaniel.

Speaker 5 (18:14):
If you want to call him Daniel McDaniel, we call
him that if you want.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
I appreciate you's assistance.

Speaker 6 (18:21):
I guess now my compliment to him now, yeah, well
I remember X man H How should we Is it
safe to assume that Mike McDaniels has saved his job
with the performance that he's been able to put on
as a coach.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
Over the last let's just say the last six weeks.

Speaker 5 (18:43):
To answer your question, I would say yes, Lebar. I
think here's why. I don't think the owner really wanted
to fire him the first place, and now he's given
him a reason to keep them. He likes him, he
wants him there, and this little run is going to
save this job. I really believe that.

Speaker 6 (18:56):
But does stay as well or as too? I mean
he's not play super well, you're.

Speaker 5 (19:01):
Stuck with they're stuck with two.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
You're stuck with that.

Speaker 5 (19:03):
Okay, yeah, you got one more year. And so what
happens is I think you know and by the way,
the next two games are both winnable too for them,
so it's possible they can make a little run, and
I think that saves his job and the new general
manager will come in, he'll evaluate him. He'll get one year.
If he doesn't win that year, then he's out, and
the same for two or two will have the one
year and if he doesn't win, then he's out. But

(19:24):
but they're both I think they're both coming back next year.
And Mike and Mike McDaniel's done a good job. I've
been with Mike McDaniel critic and I and I don't
like the way he runs his team. I think the
discipline isn't there. But the reality is you got to
give him his props. He's turned this thing around and suck.
I think he's going to keep his job.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
You're a real discipline guy. All of a sudden, you're
like the Tom Coughlin. You know that you're trying to.

Speaker 5 (19:45):
Say, Brady, I'm not one that likes to go into practice,
and here the guy practice hard yesterday. Are his jersey?

Speaker 1 (19:54):
The first thing on institute if I was like just
tie off from a broadcasting standpoint, is you you have
to tuck in your damn shirt. There's too many times
you're walking in that button. Now it's all all untalked,
looking all unprofessional. All right, if you were on my team,
I'm making you tucking that damn shirt. Man can't be all.

Speaker 5 (20:12):
When I get into the set, I always had my
shirt tucked in, and.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
Yeah, I want to transition to spots wardrobe.

Speaker 5 (20:23):
And you got the look at Mike tailor came over
yesterday and tailored me up a nice suit for the set,
and look at my winner code. Look out how cold
it is here. Dame didn't get it.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
By the way I saw our our mutual friends, uh
Noah and Rubin at the Big ten Championship game. I
think No's actually gotten shorter, by the way, I think
he's shrinking. But but they told me to make sure
to give you a hard time when we had you
on next. I still want to get to this question though.
Were you able to get a good a good glimpse
of JJ McCarthy who had a really good day yesterday

(21:00):
and there's been a lot of criticism throwing his way.
But also Shador Sanders, I thought he played his best
game yet.

Speaker 3 (21:07):
Uh oh, I.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
Thought he's making a case.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
I don't know what they're trying to do with Deshaun Watson,
but let the man play.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Let my boy Chudre play perfect timing.

Speaker 5 (21:20):
I'm with you. I'm with you, by the way, I
thought both of them played good football yesterday. And look,
the two point play was stupid. They should have Shad
Door Sanders taking his snap under center. It was dumb.
But I'm with you, Brady. Both of them played well.
I can't say anything against him, but you know, it's
one game. And you know JJ McCarthy played against Air
otherwise known as the Washington Commander's.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
Defense on Air riversid.

Speaker 5 (21:44):
And Shaudor Sanders played the tightness team. That's not very good,
but he played. They both played better. I got to
give it to him. And you know what, if Shad
Door Sanders continues to play like that, then he should
be their quarterback next year.

Speaker 6 (21:55):
I mean, but but come on, Pete, like I see
what I see what Pete or what Q did to
you Pete, Pete, perfect time, Pete. Let's be clear, man,
you got all this money invested into Deshaun Watson. You
know they made sure that there were extra fluffy towels.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
In the locker room.

Speaker 6 (22:17):
They're not just going to waste the opportunity to see
if those tiles worked for them as well as it
did for Deshaun Watson in the past.

Speaker 5 (22:29):
But you think to be their quarterback.

Speaker 6 (22:31):
I think they got to see what they have in
Deshaun Watson. I don't think you have a choice but
to see what you have. I don't care if he
goes out there and his leg falls off. You gotta
see if his leg is going to fall off or
if it's going to stay on, if he still has
an arm, if he.

Speaker 5 (22:52):
Can play Watson this year?

Speaker 6 (22:55):
Yes, yes, yes, I want to see if he is
up a goo. I want to see him play. Maybe
there's a way I can salvage something out of it
or whatever. But I won't ever know what I don't
have or what I have unless I see what he
can do.

Speaker 5 (23:14):
Yeah, I think that ship has sailed. I don't think
he's going to be their quarterback.

Speaker 6 (23:18):
Well, the ship still has a whole lot of money.
That's anchoring it down and a.

Speaker 5 (23:23):
Whole that's a whole other issue. That's the stupidity organization.
And that's what the reason they're in the hell they're
in now is because they made that trade to go
get him. That's why. And Kevin Stefanski and Kevin Stefanski
didn't want to make that trade, and the organization put
it on him, and he made that. They made the trade,
and now he was saddled with Shan Watson. Now he
saddled with the quarterback mess that he asked.

Speaker 6 (23:43):
So, look you, how much do they just fit? That
ship is sailed. They're gonna cut him. They're going to
keep them where they're gonna.

Speaker 5 (23:50):
Do with him. By the way, did you see Kevin
Stefanski after the game, If that's a man who's getting
fired short, hell, didn't seem like he cared much, did he.

Speaker 4 (23:59):
He's crying, He's what's the punishment? Like, send me somewhere where,
like there's some competent like the giants.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
You think the job, of course a job. He won't
he won't have to sit it out of here. He'll
get a gig.

Speaker 5 (24:13):
And because teams were last year, they were inquiring how
to get him out of that contract last year. They
couldn't get him out, so he will get a job
next this year.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
Pete.

Speaker 4 (24:22):
Before I let you go, I was just curious who
gets the you are what you are award this week
from Pete christ Who gets it?

Speaker 5 (24:30):
Boy, that's a good one. I don't know if there
was anybody this week, but Sam Darnold played okay. I
mean Daniel Jones started the game out that way when
he threw an interception in the stomach and a linebacker,
so he I don't want to, Pete man, I don't
want to. I don't want to. I want a guy
when he's injured. But if you were looking at it

(24:51):
from that standpoint in the last month and the beginning
of that year, it started out you are what you
are for him, it's probably.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
Get surgery right now and you're over here. Just I mean,
what about the Cardinals? You are what you are?

Speaker 4 (25:06):
I mean, pet I know I didn't you mentioned Sam Darnold.
Who is he playing against?

Speaker 5 (25:11):
Like?

Speaker 3 (25:11):
Who was the guy on the other side he was?

Speaker 5 (25:14):
So you think you are what you are?

Speaker 3 (25:16):
I mean, well, I mean this is your award. I
don't want to.

Speaker 5 (25:19):
I mean, he's a backup quarterback who's hanging on by
a thread. That's who he is. We knew who you
are what you are? He was the entire career. I mean,
I want we talk about piling on and it wasn't
a big game and he still didn't play very well.
So yeah, I mean, if you really want to look,
he might be the poster job for you are what
you are? If you if you bronze the statue for
you are what you are, he might be it.

Speaker 6 (25:39):
That's exactly I would have thought that Jones at this point,
Kirk Cousins.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
Kirk Cousins is the you are what you are, a
statue you are.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
What you are, a quarterback of the history of the game.

Speaker 5 (25:51):
Now and by the way, Brady, have you heard a
lot of comparisons with Mendoza to kirk Cousins.

Speaker 1 (25:58):
I haven't heard that that tring is post I don't
see that. Honestly. I think they're mechanically somewhat similar. I
could see how people make the comparison. I think Mendoza
moves a lot better.

Speaker 5 (26:13):
I do too. I think that Doz's got talent everything.
Before those postgame interviews.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
He looks. He looks nothing like his name or his game.

Speaker 1 (26:20):
He's just he's such a happy kid to be there. Man,
It's it's cool to see what they're doing, you know.

Speaker 5 (26:25):
I mean, I'm like, that's the corniest thing I've ever seen,
which I'm.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
With you, Pete. My in laws are like, you can
have him. I'm with you.

Speaker 5 (26:35):
You know, you know what, there's something weird. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (26:39):
Dude is a competitor, though I've seen that in person.
Due gets it in.

Speaker 6 (26:44):
Him.

Speaker 5 (26:46):
If you know what, if he's a competitor and he's
in that huddle and he's you know, yelling at guys
and taking names and saying, shut up, it's my huddle,
then I'm all for it.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
But saw that first hit he took, he got he
did get up to that dude.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
He's one of them.

Speaker 6 (26:59):
He's like the pastor of the flock, like kind of
how Kirk Cousins is right, Like they got him to
come out of his shell a little bit, put some
gold on. But they knew what they were doing. They
knew why it was so cool and why it was
so funny. And Mendoza is that type of dude.

Speaker 5 (27:14):
That's not the problem is And I don't think he's
this kid, but you know, the guy that wilts in
the moment. You don't want him either.

Speaker 3 (27:21):
And I don't think that's Mendoza. I don't think that
he got ice in his veins.

Speaker 5 (27:26):
Bro. I think he's the clear cut number one pick
in the draft.

Speaker 6 (27:28):
I just thought it was funny how his face looked
when he was doing the interview, like why do he
have his eyes closed?

Speaker 5 (27:34):
And all?

Speaker 3 (27:35):
I just thought he looked fringed dog. That's all. That's
all I can say is.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
Like Jonas's cubean here, let levard do this.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
I was blown away man, cuban tebow.

Speaker 6 (27:44):
He don't look like a Mendoza, That's all I'm gonna say,
not in that moment, like a Jonas, like a Brady.

Speaker 5 (27:50):
But I don't know. But he could, he could throw
it and he and he's good, he's talked. But those
interviews are just cringed with.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
It was bad. It was bad, kid man. Hey, you know, hey, Brady,
you know what's happening.

Speaker 4 (28:02):
Pete's already laying the foundation for a guy he'll go
after in the NFL.

Speaker 5 (28:07):
No, I can't, no, No, your competitor, and you're you
get on the field, you play the game, and you're
not gonna take any scrap or anything I have no
I I don't care less how you talk in your interviews,
but I will say, g Willickers, kid in the.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
Gee wize man, don't jump outside.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
He might end up being He's probably the Heisman, he
might be the one number one, number one overall pick.
I still think if Dancee Moore comes out, he's the
most talented of this draft group, the quarterback in Oregon.

Speaker 6 (28:37):
So I just hope they turned the music on to
go to the commercial break soon as he gets the award.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
Like up Mendoza has.

Speaker 6 (28:44):
Won the Heisman d D and we'll be back right
after this break.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
Please do not interview him, Willickers.

Speaker 5 (28:53):
I'm so happy to be here with the.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
Oh my stars.

Speaker 2 (28:59):
I just couldn't believe this.

Speaker 4 (29:01):
Oh God, Pete's fun.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
We'll do it again next week. There you go, all right,
all right guy, gee Willkers.

Speaker 4 (29:13):
The great Pete Prisco with us here NFL columns for
CBS Sports, CBS Sports HQ analysts get him on exit.

Speaker 1 (29:20):

Hell yeah, I might break my grinches out. What are
your grinches as Joe, grinch ass the shoes there. I
got some sneakers that that are Grinch sneakers. GRINCHA got
the little the little furries like it's like a little
furry texture like the Grinch a little charms on there,

(31:01):
let you know. But but there's a pair that really
are harry like the grinch hair fur. But these are
like kind of like have a texture to them. Yeah,
I'll wear them next week. Yeah, but I might wear
them to the to the dinner too, you know, stand
out a little bit.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
Good move.

Speaker 5 (31:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (31:21):

And right now use the promo code two pros to
claim your special offer of DraftKings. Again, that's Promo Code
two Pros and DraftKings. The crown is yours. One thing
that was lost in the college football playoff discussion that
we alluded.

Speaker 6 (31:37):
To a little bit earlier in the Shoulder Dame's entry, Well, no,
not that that's rude.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
I mean that was lost.

Speaker 2 (31:45):
Man.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
That Big Ten title game was fun, it was an amazing.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
Were not there?

Speaker 3 (31:51):
So not even close, not even close, not even close.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
But again, uh, it is a remark arkable and I
would say the greatest maybe in sport. I know there's
some other examples, but you were talking about the greatest
turnaround in sports history at least being up there in
that conversation.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
What Kurt Signetti has done.

Speaker 1 (32:15):
This is a program in Indiana that is the second
most losses in college football history, the second most losses ever.
In fact, the difference between how many wins Ohio State has,
which they have the second most in college football history,
the difference between Ohio State's amount of wins and.

Speaker 2 (32:36):
The amount of wins Indiana has, all.

Speaker 1 (32:38):
Right, basically almost comes up to that amount that Indiana
has won. Like that's how big the gap is between
those two programs throughout history. But clearly there's no gap anymore.
That is a team that's well coached, fundamentally sound. They
don't make mistakes. They're being led by the Heisman Trophy winner.
I think he's going to be based on his clutch

(33:00):
MS versus Oregon versus Penn State. You know, they've been
able to continue to survive, but just a gutsy, gritty performance.
That team is so much fun to watch play, and
even just being down around them. I'll quickly reference one
thing that I thought was kind of interesting. So we
were down on their side of the field, and I

(33:20):
was down on that part of the field where Kurt Signetti,
that coach was at. Remember the long pass that at
the end to Becker that basically basically ice the game.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
You knew Ohio State.

Speaker 1 (33:30):
Could get the ball back, and they did, but they
were going to have like twenty seconds no timeouts, and
obviously they need to get in field goal range, which
was gonna be tough from where the ball was gonna be.
So they hit the long completion and at that moment,
you know, they're two minute warring at hit or two
minute time out hit, and the sideline for Indiana like
wants to start celebrating, and Signetti's very poised, very calm,

(33:54):
doesn't say like a ton or get too energetic. I
just kind of see him look back and one of
boys actually is the D line coach there, and he's
with those guys right there.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
The kicker was warming up.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
Now he's kind of looking at you know, like sure,
are we going to celebrate or to celebrate, and the
rest of the sidelines like kind of wait to see
if they're going to celebrate, and he just looks kind
of down the sidelines, looks at a few of the players,
some of the coaches. He says something into his thing,
and I swear to you in Unison, everyone like just
goes back to work, Like like the d line sat

(34:27):
back down, the coach is going over stuff with them,
the kicker just locks back in starts practicing his kicks.
They are so process oriented, like they never look past
the next play. And I just think it's emblematic of
why they've been so successful because as we talk about
like an Ohio State Indiana, that matchup, but David versus Goliath, right,

(34:48):
there's no doubt there's more talent on that O High
State roster than Indiana.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
If you focus too much on that, you get overwhelmed.

Speaker 1 (34:54):
But if you just focus on, hey, this play, I'm
gonna try to get three yards, or this play we're
just trying to get off the field in this series,
if you just focused on like one little bite at
a time when you're trying to eat that elephant like
you're gonna get it done. And it's just it was
really interesting to see how they wouldn't even shut off
or like celebrate even when it was pretty much in
the bag until the game was over, until Zeros hit

(35:15):
the clock. But it was He's a ton of fun
to talk to about football and be around. But that
program is in an unbelievable spot right now.

Speaker 6 (35:23):
Shouts out to that IU defense and Isaiah have you
ever heard of that name before?

Speaker 3 (35:31):
For that game? Isaiah? Hold on, let me tell you
Isaiah Jones, Isaiah Thomas, Isaiah Jones.

Speaker 6 (35:38):
The linebacker he was, he was getting after it. He's
from London, Ohio. Yeah, pretty dope, man. I was at
their defense ball. But bro that cat right there. I
was super impressed by the way his motor was on.
I that's how you hate play with. You're here on

(36:01):
fire and that's what they were doing. By the way,
Sesame Street helped rak all of us.

Speaker 3 (36:06):

left over there?

Speaker 3 (37:14):
All right, what's up, Lora Ray? What do we got? Well,
Hi guys, good morning.

Speaker 8 (37:20):
Well, when you're reaching to the back of the fridge
for your leftovers, make sure you are grabbing real food.
Matt Barnes is back in the news this weekend because
of the AI instant model that he sent sixty one
thousand dollars.

Speaker 3 (37:35):
I'll get it.

Speaker 8 (37:37):
He sent that much money to us.

Speaker 3 (37:39):
She's an AI model, yes.

Speaker 8 (37:42):
And he sent thirteen different payments.

Speaker 1 (37:45):
So who is the dweeb that's creating this AI model
sending the money too?

Speaker 8 (37:51):
It doesn't say, It doesn't say, but people are starting
to mock him now, being like, how could you fall
for something like she's kind of cute.

Speaker 4 (38:01):
One of the headlines says loses six to one thousand
in an AI snow bunny scamp.

Speaker 3 (38:06):
What what is that? I mean? Oh?

Speaker 2 (38:10):
You mean what an that with a white girl?

Speaker 3 (38:14):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (38:15):
Does she have to be blonde though?

Speaker 6 (38:16):
Too?

Speaker 3 (38:17):
No, just a white girl.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
I've been told and this is again only not from
anything other than just being told this that she they
has to be have.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
To be blonde to be a snow bunny.

Speaker 6 (38:26):
Yeah, I mean, I guess they created their own little rule.
But really, in general, the just the term is just
for whoever said that.

Speaker 3 (38:33):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (38:34):
I don't know who said that, but they whoever said that,
that's it's just white girl.

Speaker 3 (38:38):
If you're a white girl. Is a snow bunny really interesting? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (38:42):
But they have to.

Speaker 6 (38:44):
I mean, I've never seen a bunny rabbit with a
hair with blonde hair. No, I've never seen it.

Speaker 1 (38:55):
I think I think the idea is that, like the
skin's white, the hair is looking more whitish too, you know.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
I mean, that's just too much thought.

Speaker 6 (39:03):
I just think that when you say a bunny, when
you're messing with a snow bunny, that means you're messing
with a white girl.

Speaker 3 (39:09):
That's it, like, nothing more to it.

Speaker 1 (39:11):
Since AI got us into this situation, yes, maybe you
should get us out of this.

Speaker 2 (39:16):
We'll try to ford the rock. We'll see when we
come up.

Speaker 3 (39:19):
Okay, what does GROX say.

Speaker 1 (39:21):
M a young attractive white woman specifically attracted to black men.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
It's black?

Speaker 3 (39:29):
There you go.

Speaker 6 (39:30):
Just I mean, I was, I was your grocket. I
don't know why people don't trust me, but you know what,
I'm talked to you about it tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (39:37):
Also a snowflake and mud shark.

Speaker 6 (39:39):
Yes, but snowflake is used in lock up. That's Jim
