Speaker 2 (00:54):
Dollars fie, was that not passive aggressive?
Speaker 3 (00:58):
Someone actually in our group text, did you send the
ten dollars fine for yourself?
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Yes, I may have updated it. I think your own fine.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
I I did not.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
I did not hold on.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
I mean your honor.
Speaker 4 (01:14):
I think it's fun I think so fine. I think
it's funny that he laughs about him breaking the law
so much like you one of them dudes. Man, you're
a lawbreaker. You just came into the segment with a
passive aggressive statement your honor in action, and that's ridiculous honor,
and you're laughing about it.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
I've shown nothing but respect to the court, to your
rulings and decisions that you've had to make here when
it comes to the fine system here, I can't sit
here and be attacked though, Like this.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
Is that's ten dollars. That's ten more dollars right there.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
So I'm out twenty dollars and we're two minutes and
forty seconds into the final hour of the show.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Just updating the fine system that started back in the
beginning of November, so we're a little over a month now.
I am leading the way at fifty dollars, so far
all got kicked off of the Micah Parsons cross talk
that Var you and Jonahs were so keen on. There's
been some other you know who cares uh peacocking for
example too about pictures the spread.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
LeVar you you're at thirty. You're actually the least amount.
It's cool.
Speaker 5 (02:23):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Your most recent obviously is he's self imposed fine on
our tax exchange.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Although, oh yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Complaining about the DP calling coward being Hall of fame.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
We got you for that. That Jonahs had a weenie fine.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
He said, no, you don't pay me now we do
we do some super Bowl Well, hold on a supervanow,
I'm not holding on.
Speaker 4 (02:48):
Hold on to it.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
He's trying to pay me now the money?
Speaker 1 (02:54):
What is the.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
What you got issues? Man?
Speaker 1 (02:58):
I'm trying to get to the bottom of the fire.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
You're fifty, by the way, multiple guests sucks, self sucks.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
A lot of things going on there for you, all right?
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Well, and then Patty Sweet scared, messed up.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Patrick's afraid of black People's messed up, afraid of black people.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
You can hear how fearful he is. Anytime he does
a segment, He's like, and Var you win it.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
I am not valance, your boy, it's your boy stupid?
All right? What I mean, shouldn't Loraina system too?
Speaker 2 (03:45):
I got we're gentlemen. We don't let ladies pay.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
Oh oh gosh, Loraina should have been fine for a
few things though.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Are actually going I'm going to go.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
I'm taking it.
Speaker 6 (03:59):
I'm taking myself.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Oh so you're not actually gonna work with us, You're
just gonna know.
Speaker 6 (04:02):
I'm going to tell I'm gonna do raise of social
media for the day.
Speaker 7 (04:06):
I'm just gonna do it. I'm just gonna do it.
I'm gonna post you guys. You guys will be all over.
It's gonna be great. It's gonna beautiful.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
Do you understand what time? Oh wait, what I'm not
doing talking about?
Speaker 8 (04:14):
You?
Speaker 4 (04:15):
Do understand?
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Are you sure you want to do that?
Speaker 1 (04:19):
I want to do that.
Speaker 6 (04:20):
I want to do it so bad, so bad.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
I mean, I think you're heavily underrating because there's no
one there, especially the first three days it's no one.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
There there, don't really pick up till Thursday, there's no
one there.
Speaker 4 (04:36):
I don't like doing it.
Speaker 6 (04:40):
I don't even like you guys walking in all slow
mo together.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
I really wanted to tell Scott this year, like, hey, bru,
till that thing go to the East Coast or you
give us a different time slide, like I don't. I
don't want to do a couple of years.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
Man, we got I will say this for Radio Row
because it is so much fun when when it gets going,
it stinks when there's like no one there.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Yes, it does. Think West Coast super Bowls.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
And I know I'm not against them at by any means,
but for the purpose of Radio Row, it's not the same.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
It's not It's not Vegas Miami alternate years.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
Oh, I'd be all in there, that's it. I'd be
all in yeah like that. I just know in Vegas,
like you moving around and the band is still playing.
The band is still playing sets while we're walking in
to do work, Like that's no, there's no fun to that.
Like you sitting there, Pete, people dancing, they having a
(05:35):
good ass time, people gambling, feeling good. We're going to
we're going in to get it in, like and then
you got to go to bed early so that you
got to get up hammered. Last year too, that we
did get fried, Yeah, fright, That Thursday was epic. That
was an epic third.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
Pete Prescott joining us looking at me like, oh, so
you still smell, was like, yeah, well.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
Was last year? Maybe it was the year before. When
did Albert come in when his face lopped off?
Speaker 1 (06:09):
Oh that was last year?
Speaker 4 (06:10):
Was that last year?
Speaker 1 (06:11):
So he's so two straight years. Albert came in the
first year and he was profusely sweating because he'd probably
been boozing the night before, so he was sweating out
all the booze. And then last year he came in.
He forgot his razor at home, so he used the
hotel razor and.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
Then took a chunk out his face. Dang, my man
looked like a piece of two pasts and a piece
of toilet paper, Like.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
He got Jack the ripperd And he's sitting there a
radio road. Try to hold this napkin next to his face.
It's bleeding because he decided to shave with the hotel razor. Yeah,
but that's that's the entertainment that you could expect at
three in the morning.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
That's the only entertainment you go and get. Yeah, because
there ain't nobody there when we're there.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
He did his part, I mean, you know, he did
a couple of Yeah, he walked into the wrong bathroom.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
The nice thing for you, I don't have babysit him anymore.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
Yeah, so that's free up a lot of time. Gotta
be careful though, is the group come out on social
media now, so you've gotta be careful about that. Also,
I would say LeVar, I think I know what LeVar
is doing here. He's trying to get my fine total
up for the year because he knows he's walking the
plank this week. He's at the College Football Hall of Fame.
(07:29):
There's going to be lots of reminiscing, lots of looking back,
lots of talking about the good old days, all that,
and the ten dollars are just going to start racking up.
So I'm saying, LaVar will be at eighty bucks by
the time your guys are out of Vegas. That's what
I'm going to say.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
Eighty Will you have one more show here?
Speaker 1 (07:48):
Okay? One hundred?
Speaker 2 (07:51):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Yeah, knocks locks?
Speaker 4 (07:55):
Sure, weirdo Zonus damn in a vampire.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
All right, So here's a speaking of college football, here's
what we do have. We have our Heisman finalists, all right, Yeah,
no surprise, Fernando Mendoza and I think this was all
based on the postgame interview he did.
Speaker 4 (08:13):
Uh, why make fun of him? I just don't because
it's made funnable. It's he's an easy target on this one.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
It's nice.
Speaker 4 (08:20):
It's a very easy target kid.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
Yeah, I get it, you know.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
I mean that makes it cooler that he's as tough
as he is when he plays ball. But man, yeah,
it is deserving. It is deserving of the criticisms that
it gets. Somebody hopefully got a hold of him and
was like, hey, bro, look here.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
Man, I don't he doesn't need to change anything.
Speaker 4 (08:42):
I think you're lovable, and I think you're a dope dude.
But the whole closing your eyes and squinting and and
talking to you know, I get it.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
Hey, he can he can act with the hit he
took early in that game. He can act over the
hell he wants. He got it.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
Just don't get to make it. Throw after throw after
the throw. By the way, why are you making fun
of him for squeating? Maybe that's just part of his culture.
Speaker 4 (09:07):
It was, Yeah, it could be, but it just seemed
like he had a whole bunch of weed and his grass.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Looked at me.
Speaker 9 (09:15):
It was like, well, maybe I don't could be cultural,
but I'm just saying the way he came out as
and was Squinton and I don't.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Know, he's a Cuban Tim Tebow. Come on, man, got
the guy some some slack here, all right, He's out there.
Speaker 4 (09:32):
And that was definitely a good accurate assessment label for him.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Diego pay the whole. I don't know, Diego Pavia, Jeremiah
Love friend of the program, Notre Dame running back, and
then Julian saying of Ohio State, are your finals?
Speaker 4 (09:50):
Yeah? You know.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
Someone showed me a graphic the other day of like
Jade Daniel stats, Joe Burrow stats, like all these quarterbacks,
like no one's even close to.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
What those guys used to be.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
And I was like, oh, it's kind of interesting important
because some of some teams with the playoff, the expanded playoff,
and they've actually slowed down their pace of play, so
they're not they're running almost let's say ten, twelve fifteen
less plays per game, so they're really playing like two
three less games during the course of the season.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
As that adds up, and it's literally led to.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
Like these stats not looking at well quite what they
used to be, but what It's what's most impressive to
me statistically of all these guys is Love is splitting
carries with Jadarian Price because everyone's you know, compares them
kind of to Reggie Bush and like, well, Reggie split
carries too with Lindell White, And if you look at
the the numbers, it's it's pretty interesting.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
But that's, you know, that's a hell of a group. Man.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
I like Jeremiah Love for for the award, but he
won't get it, which is unfortunate.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
I think what Mendoza has done undefeated, Yeah, they're undefeated,
the number one team, the way they beat Ohias. His
numbers aren't Gotti, but he made plays at Oregon, Iowa,
Penn State like.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
That play like when you think of Heisman moments.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Jeremiah Love has the splash plays, and I think he's
the best player in college football. But to your point,
I don't think he's gonna win it just because people
end up wanting that. The case that for Fernando Mendoza's made.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
What would you say if he had to guess right now, Brady,
the odds on DraftKings for the hyper Mendoza, Yeah, what
would you say?
Speaker 2 (11:31):
He's at right minus one fus two hundred.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
I don't know, okay, but he's ten to one, so
it's minus one thousand for Fernando Mendoza. That's actually come.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
Down from just a little bit off.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
Well, and actually that came down yesterday. He was at
twenty five to one, so it's come down to ten
to one. Diego Pavia is sitting at six to one.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
Follow So there's there's a theory, by the way, yeah,
that Pavia is gonna get all the vote of course,
which by the way, that's been the case forever, like
the SEC just blanketly votes for whoever, the best player,
whoever they've got in there, which is kind of bs.
I mean, Diego pave is a really good player. He's
helped elevate Vanderbilt. He's there for a reason. He should
(12:17):
be there. But it's more to me about the voting system.
It's no different than what we just saw with the
college fball playoff. After last year, how many teams did
the SEC getin with three in the playoff? Yeah, and
the big ten wins it? Right, SEC plays off on
the playoff. So what does the committee do this year? Oh, well,
we're going to turn around to use different metrics. And
how we evaluate you know, the play and the kind
(12:38):
of all stuff.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
Now they get five in and they only have what Oklahoma.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
Bama's the only match up against each other to knock
each other out, So you're still most likely going to
have three maybe four from the you know, for the
first round.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
But I just there's always been an SEC bias.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
It stinks because you know, Jillian Sand's played really well
season two and Jeremiah Love again probably should get it,
but he's a running back, so we don't appreciate that
quite as much.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
People love their their SEC man like very territorial, very territorial, which.
Speaker 4 (13:15):
Is they've been very bold as of late saying how
much they're the best. You know, they come out with
their TV shows and.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
One ish in the past two years.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
Yeah, they but they have come out and been very
bullish own them.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
My data said it does it does feel like they're
a little threatened. Like it feels like they're a little
threatened because, yeah, they haven't won, and the best teams
and arguably the better games have been in the Big Ten,
and so they look at it as you know, who's
who's It's like they were going to do whatever they
could do to get Alabama in Alabama could be one
(13:50):
and done. And you know now they're gonna get me
real love for their guy, Bobby.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
If you want me to be real about it too.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
There's more money and the teams up north, Ohio State,
Penn State, Michigan, Notre Dame, like when NIL started to
become a legal thing, all these other programs have more money.
It's just the reality of it, Oregon. And so look
look back through the National Championship two years ago. Was
it Michigan Washington? You know, you look past back this
(14:19):
past year. You know, the final four teams, two of
which Big Ten teams Notre Dame and then an SEC team.
But like they are getting pushed out because there's just
more money into these programs up north, and they're able
to build off NIL and build up the rosters to
be able to be competitive and all that. So the
SEC will spin it however they want. They always have.
ESPN's are part of that. But the reality is the
(14:42):
Big ten's been the best in college football in the
past few years.
Speaker 10 (14:44):
Now.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
Yeah, why I know this. Be sure to check out
our brand new YouTube channel for the show. Just search

think is completely wrong. But check out our new channel
on YouTube. Begin just search two pros FSR and subscribe.
But did want to ask you this, Brady, because obviously
(15:09):
people defending Notre Dame, and you know, we talked about
you know, the athletic director coming out and saying, look,
you know, we didn't like how the acc sort of
you know, put us in a bad spot, and all
the other things that came along with it, the notion
the part that I find funny about it with you
mentioned SEC and it being so territorial, and people are like, oh,
(15:30):
you know, Notre Dame sour grapes, get over it, et cetera,
et cetera. You probably can't. You've said this, but you
probably can't because people are just going to label you
a homer. But I don't know how anybody just looking
at this subjectively could say that they wouldn't too be
pissed off if you were punished for a loss two
(15:52):
months later or three months later, when you hadn't been
punished for it before, like you waited and delayed the
punishment for those let's like, wow, they lost the head
to head. I mean, if you don't like it, go
win those games. Okay, then why wasn't that assessed, that
punishment assessed earlier? Why did you wait until the very end?
And I don't know how anybody could look at this
and not feel like, hey, my school got strung along
(16:14):
in this whole process, like Notre Dame did, just.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
Objective because because people don't like Notre Dame, people don't
like you know, some of the exceptions, which I believe
it's starting next year in the college Fotball Playoff if
they are ranked in the top like twelve.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
They get an automatic bid to go in.
Speaker 3 (16:31):
You know, one that was a thing that was a
part of the language within the BCS where that which
they were a part of because they've always been independent
and so it's existed before, but not a lot of
people were aware of it because it didn't come into
effect until this new least in the twelve team expanded
(16:51):
college ball Playoff.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
So you know, the reality is looking at looking at
like the lance.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
They've got it there, it's more against them than than
I think people realize because, like I said before this week,
now you know, if you're a Notre Dame fan, you
can't go ten and two.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
You have to go eleven and one.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
You have to go in love in the one in
order to assure yourself a shot at playing in the
College Fball playoff.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
And until we got to.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
This point, we really didn't really didn't know because it
came down to whether you want to you know, look
at the final play of the A and M game,
or you know obviously how Miami went. It doesn't matter
however you dice it up. You can't go ten and two,
you have to go eleven and one. Like that's that's
the bar. Whereas other teams like Bama, they can go
ten and three. They can play in their commerce championship game,
(17:39):
get shellacked and they can still make it in.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
Right, They don't have to win their conference. They don't
have to.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
They can lose three games still make it in and
then don't have to win that. And it's just it's
that's the difference is they don't have any room for
air besides one hiccup.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Yeah, it's it's a weird time.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
What up sticks?
Speaker 2 (18:03):
He's struggling, right, now he's struggling. I'm trying to pick
him back up, trying to get him going.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
Well, you know what, give him an cist, because every
goal starts with an assist on and off the field.
That's why Haleyon and US Soccer are launching for the Assist,

Uh?
Speaker 1 (22:50):
What's your your read on that?
Speaker 4 (22:53):
Well?
Speaker 8 (22:53):
I think this is just everybody the catch pool has
been a rule that has been debated and it and
there's no perfect rule, and you go back and you
think about Calvin Johnson and Dez and all these other
plays and controversy, and this to me is really a
product of how the current rule is written to Basically,
(23:16):
they used to be time, right. You have to have
the ball long enough to perform in a common to
the game, do something with it other than just try
to catch it. I think anybody that watches likely and
watches that play sees it as a catch. He has
it long enough, that's a catch, that should be a touchdown.
But the way the rule is written now, after you
get control and get both feet, you got to actually
(23:39):
performing a common to the game, and one of those
is take another step. And I think that's where this
rule is right now, especially in replay where they're just
counting feet and they said, okay, he didn't take another step.
The ball came out just before that, you know, third
step hit the ground, so it's incomplete. And to me
that's an issue with the rule because again, I know
(24:02):
the time element was subjective and they try to make
it more objective. But when you're just having feet, I mean,
that's just to me, that's a touchdown. It is the
way the rule has been applied. But again, it just
goes back to this catch rule. There's always going to
be plays where you look at it and you go, man,
that should be a catch, but it's not by rule.
(24:23):
And we've gone through this over the years.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
Indeed, I want to ask you about a play.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
I had a buddy text me after the Big Ten
Championship game and there was a screen on the interception
that like people were asking, like, what's the rule on
defensive pass interference on passes behind the line of scrimmage
and what contact is able to be allowed?
Speaker 2 (24:43):
And if you would from both sides of.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
It, because I don't think I did a great job
explaining it to him, and he was pretty drunk, so
that was probably part of it.
Speaker 8 (24:50):
So the past interference that you can't have that difference
behind the line of scrimmage. It's the same in the
end FL and the same in college the NFL. It's
actually yard beyond, so you could actually have contact within
the yard of the line of scrimmage that would be legal.
So so anything behind the line is not pass difference.
You can have holding, right, So if you just you
(25:12):
can't just grab the receiver and just prevent the receiver
from from catching the football. And you know, before the
balls in the air. But when the balls in the air,
if there's contact, that's early. If that's behind the line
of scrimmage passing, different rules don't apply. So so that's
that's legal when that happens.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
Dan, how much input does the league officials have when
like the Competition committee like meets and talks about the
different rules changes, like, because I would feel like a
lot of the information coming from endgame information would be
you know, very very important and critical to making the
(25:53):
right decisions on on what rules to enforce, what rules
or you know, plays or whatever need to be you know,
maybe loosened or lightened up, Like how does how does
that work?
Speaker 2 (26:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (26:06):
Well, I love about you, Levars. You you go from
extra parmisan to a very insightful, thoughtful question like you
the whole you You're the whole spectrum, which is incredible renaissance. Yeah, No,
I love it. I love it. Yeah. So it's really important,
and so you have as part of that competition committee process.
(26:29):
You know, that competition Committe made up of it's made
up of coaches and general managers and ownership, and then
you have officiating. You the officiating people leadership or part
of that process. They don't vote, but they provide input.
And then you do bring game officials to those meetings
because they're the ones out there that are trying to
(26:49):
officiate these rules. And you're always looking at three things
with rule changes. You're looking at player safety, You're you're
looking at competitive equity, and you're looking at officiating consistency.
So who better to add can this be assiciated consistently
is the guys that are and gals that are trying
to do it. So I think that's a big part
of it. They're part of those meetings, they provide input,
(27:10):
they give feedback, and and you know usually that's that's
a that's a positive thing because it always helps the
competition can be kind of shape those rules changes.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
Dean Blandino, Fox Sports NFL college football rules analysts joining
us here on Fox Sports Radio. What have you seen
through you know, fourteen going on fifteen weeks in the
NFL thus far that you've looked at and said, man,
they're still struggling with that that call. I mean, it
seemed like they got the overtime coin toss figured out
last night.
Speaker 8 (27:36):
But my god, Scott did it.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
They did it.
Speaker 8 (27:42):
Come on. He did hesitate a little bit when when
when the Eagle said they wanted to kick, he was like,
but you could tell he was like.
Speaker 2 (27:50):
Oh you fired up.
Speaker 8 (27:52):
He's like, yeah, I'm going to show everybody watched that.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
That's right. Yeah, let me lead by example. But is
there a call you've seen to share that You're like, man,
they're missing that one a lot. The one that jumps
on me is faces face.
Speaker 8 (28:06):
Mess to face mess too. Obviously there was a big
one missed. I mean that that that's one that was
pretty much out in the open on the on the
on the kick, on the kickoff return, So that was one.
But but offensive past difference and this is not new.
This has been a struggle. I mean the one, the
one going back to the you know, Lions Cowboys on
(28:27):
I think it was first and that you know that
that's a that's a problem and and and that's one
that I think they got to continue to look at
and work at it. So it's a hard call because
there's there's there's a lot of layers to it. But
I think I think struggling right now with with with
offensive past efferents.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
What you talking about pick plays? What do you mean?
Speaker 8 (28:47):
No, just all of it. I mean just whether it's
pick plays, whether it's the receiver, you know, who's initiating
the contact, push offs? Is it a push off? Is it?
Is it hand fighting? I think that that's where we're
seeing calls. I think I would say probably batting fifty
percent when the flag is on the ground, you know,
whether it's it's it's actually a foul or not.
Speaker 4 (29:11):
I'm curious what, in your opinion, like, what is a
gold standard referee? What is that? What does that look like?
Speaker 2 (29:19):
Like?
Speaker 4 (29:20):
What is there a criteria? There? Is there? Is there?
Speaker 2 (29:23):
Like Carrera?
Speaker 4 (29:24):
Is that what it is? Yeah? Do you look at
Mike Carrera and say that is the gold standard of
what a reference should be? Like, how do you guys
govern that or or come up with that?
Speaker 2 (29:33):
Isn't your nickname for gold standard Mike gold stands?
Speaker 8 (29:37):
Yeah? Go well, Gus Johnson called them Mikey rule box,
which you know that Mike books. That's great, so I think.
And I had a conversation with Jeane's territory the other day,
and I love Gene and Jane's kind of that referee
as the nice time. Huh.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
Of course, of course together Like what do you guys?
Speaker 8 (30:00):
We just talked about how much parmesan is enough?
Speaker 4 (30:03):
Like about the way you know?
Speaker 8 (30:07):
That was that was the conversation. Is it ever enough?
Speaker 4 (30:12):
You know, do you think there's ever enough?
Speaker 2 (30:16):
Or do you talk more Italian around Jean?
Speaker 8 (30:19):
Oh? Yeah, you talk. We definitely we have our own
little lingo.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Come on, yeah, I don't.
Speaker 8 (30:23):
Know, you're part of Italian these this, Brady Quinn. You
know you're part of Italians, don't.
Speaker 2 (30:30):
No one listens to that right you're talking? Are all right?
Speaker 4 (30:34):
I am part of Italian right on the ways now,
I mean you're a stand up comic. So I just
figure out Garantee.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
Yeah, there you go, Garantina Arte, there you go.
Speaker 8 (30:50):
Yes, So back to the back to the question. So
I think, what what is the job of a referee?
And really it's like to manage the game. It's it's
to manage the game, keep the game moving, you know,
get in and out of penalty enforcements, get in and
out of the breaks, communicate you know. Yeah, the flags
(31:10):
are important in terms of when when it is a foul,
you got to call it. But but I think it's
just maintaining that flow. And and I think the best
referees were where those those types of people that could,
you know, they communicate, you knew the game was going
to run well. You know, if there was an issue,
they were going to communicate well. The coaches were more
at ease when they saw those types of officials, good communicators,
(31:33):
good game managers. And I think that's that's kind of
what you're looking for. And then you can you can
kind of teach what holding is and what and what
what what other things you need to look for. But
I think that's kind of where where we were always
at in terms of who what type of person we
were looking for, somebody that can manage the game really well. Uh.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
Dean Matt Lafleur was complaining about, you know, the lack
of holding calls, uh, you know against Micah Parsons on Sunday,
and you know they always talked back in the day
about how, you know, when Shaq was playing, he was
so dominant, you could have called a foul on every
play he got, you know, abused out there, but they
didn't call it. From your time in doing this, whether
(32:12):
it's college or the NFL, can you think of a
couple of players that just took punishment that wasn't called
like a shack, like Matt Lafleur saying what happened with
Michael Parsons. Guys that you look at and yeah, held
every play.
Speaker 8 (32:27):
Well, And I think Matt's right to extent. You know,
we had that game and Mike, you know, he gets
held more than get in the calls that he gets.
I think he went through a stretch in Dallas a
couple of years ago where you know, it was like whatever,
how many sixteen straight games where he didn't get a
holding call. The guy that I remember having conversations with
with Belichick and and actually Brian Dable, who at the
(32:49):
time was the tight ends coach for New England was
was Gronk. And Gronk it was kind of like that
shack because Gronk was bigger and stronger than these dbs,
whether it was a safety even a linebacker that was
trying to cover him, and he was getting held a lot.
There was a lot of contact that was being initiated
on him, and there were times where because he was
bigger and stronger he was, he would kind of knock
(33:11):
the guy off and he would get flagged for offensive
pass and a fair and so I think that was
a guy that that, you know, because of just just
the difference physical physically between him and the guys that
were trying to cover him, that was getting you know,
less calls or getting caught more because you know, he
was knocking the guy back because he was just bigger
and stronger. So that was one guy that stood out for.
Speaker 2 (33:31):
Medan last one for me.
Speaker 3 (33:33):
We're at this week, we're gonna be traveling to with
your bestie Tom Brady.
Speaker 8 (33:37):
We we had Lions Rams in LA, so we're going
to go from you know, was ten degrees in Green
Bay on Sunday and and and now we'll get to
more more you know, moderate temperatures. So looking forward should
be a good game too. Obviously, the Lion's got to
win to keep their playoffs hopes alive. The Rams are
you know, fighting for that number one seed, so it
(33:58):
should be the game.
Speaker 2 (33:59):
Yeah, we really got to get more opinions from your Levart.
Speaker 3 (34:01):
I just talked about that with like, forget football stuff,
I just like hearing your general thoughts on life.
Speaker 4 (34:06):
Yeah about that too, I was going to ask you
about that.
Speaker 8 (34:11):
We don't know the segment or whatever whatever you want
to talk about. I'm in.
Speaker 3 (34:16):
I actually think that'd be a great segment we have
on someone who can explain all the officiating and like
every sport for the most part, but football specifically, and
then we asked no questions about it.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
That'd be great.
Speaker 4 (34:27):
Well, and then break down the seasoning on on Italian
food while we're doing it. I think that that would
be like and and and street politics. I think if
we go politics, the ability to be able to talk
about the seasoning on the foods and the sports all together,
(34:47):
and horse racing we throw. If we throw horse racing
in there, it's a win.
Speaker 8 (34:52):
We could just do a cooking show. Me and you
LeVar will do a cooking show where we take people
send their recipes, we do it, we prepare it them.
We're talking about just like and everything they don't.
Speaker 4 (35:01):
Don't don't play around with me, man, because you know
I go for stuff like that, and I can cook.
By the way, I'm pretty mean. I'm pretty mean in
the kitchen. Man. You got you have to do something.
You're a pretty dude like Q and Jonas, Like I
work with a bunch of pretty dudes, and I'm ugly,
so I got to be able to compensate, and I
(35:23):
do and in the ways that I can. You know
what I mean, cooking one of those things.
Speaker 8 (35:28):
You make up for it follow the way.
Speaker 4 (35:31):
That's that's why they put that that that that last
name different, you know, Guarantee Arantino. You know, I compensate
other ways. How you doing, How you doing?
Speaker 1 (35:46):
You?
Speaker 4 (35:46):
That's the family.
Speaker 1 (35:51):
Indeed, always fun. We will do it again next week.

question again. Yeah, yeah, they're still here. Dean's thoughts on life.
Speaker 1 (36:09):
I mean, there's only so many you can ask at
a certain point, like yeah, I think I think people
would want to know, Like, you know, I think it's
I think it's fair, you know, especially with a below
the waist joke like that is to send off.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
Well, then imagine too, like what raised us you know

Here's the left over.
Speaker 1 (38:48):
All, right, Larrai, Ray, what do we got?
Speaker 8 (38:49):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (38:50):
We got some hot fresh burgers coming up? No kidding,
but In and Out is in the news. Oh you
all have children, Jonas ours is a little too young
for this. But you know the viral six seven trend?
Speaker 1 (39:02):
Yes, I think Brady started that. Oh it's what is it?
Speaker 2 (39:06):
Exactly?
Speaker 4 (39:07):
What is it?
Speaker 7 (39:08):
You know, I wasn't really even sure what it was,
but children everywhere if they hear the number six seven,
they just go six seven six seven. And apparently it
is associated with the song and the NBA player you
guys know him, LaMelo Ball who his height is six seven,
So it all has to do with him.
Speaker 4 (39:24):
I'm sure there's more six to seven guys in the
league than any other height.
Speaker 7 (39:30):
It's very average height, yes, but it has to do
with how he went viral with it on TikTok.
Speaker 6 (39:35):
So it all has to do with that anyway. So
In and Out is getting involved with.
Speaker 4 (39:40):
Tell you what, them balls be active.
Speaker 6 (39:42):
Don't they They're everywhere?
Speaker 4 (39:44):
Yeah, man, they just be bout putting the balls all
on everybody.
Speaker 7 (39:48):
Man got anyways, So In and Out employees say that
hordes of young children and you know, adolescents have been
going and waiting for In and Out employees to call
out the number six seven so that they can all
explode inside the restaurants.
Speaker 6 (40:03):
This has been happening all across LA.
Speaker 1 (40:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (40:05):
This so employees have noticed that the number has been
completely not to say it, they're.
Speaker 6 (40:10):
Just not doing it at all.
Speaker 7 (40:11):
It goes from sixty six to sixty eight, just like
in a hotel where it goes from twelfth to fourteenth floor.
Speaker 2 (40:17):
We just skip it.
Speaker 6 (40:18):
Oh why do we have to do this?
Speaker 1 (40:23):
Get a life, man.
Speaker 2 (40:25):
I mean that is that's a life.
Speaker 4 (40:28):
They want to They want to bond and have new
and creative ways of doing it.
Speaker 1 (40:32):
There's so many other things out there, like what jonas.
Speaker 3 (40:36):
Everything, like cocaine anything, yeah, drugs like yeah, yeah, yeah,
you know, come on, problem.
Speaker 4 (40:43):
I'd rather you say six to seven than say get
there's a little bit more booget sugar.
Speaker 2 (40:47):
No one's advocating for booger sugar. A little bit more
boger sugar. I'm just can we move on from the
six seven?
Speaker 4 (40:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (40:53):
Actually?
Speaker 4 (40:54):
They also is that is that ten dollars? Is that
ten dollars? I don't care.
Speaker 2 (40:59):
I do not care. I could.
Speaker 3 (41:01):
There's so many other things I'd rather talk about it,
damn ill.
Speaker 7 (41:07):
They also got rid of the number sixty nine as well.
They do not read out that as well, just so
you guys know, sucks for you.
Speaker 6 (41:14):
They wow, why would they do?
Speaker 4 (41:17):
Take what you get rid of that? That number? Is
there for a reason. Those are cancers, aren't they cancers?
Isn't that the sign for cancer? That's a cancer?
Speaker 1 (41:34):
Ye? It is, you're right?
Speaker 6 (41:35):
Oh where they were like up and down? Yeah yeah
yeah yeah kind of like what's that ying and yang sign?
Speaker 8 (41:42):
Right? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (41:42):
Yeah yeah, it's like what dorks are and do the
horoscope and stuff like that.
Speaker 4 (41:48):
Yeah, it is. It is the cancer zodiac sign is
a sixty nine. You can't cancer.
Speaker 6 (41:54):
I didn't know you were good at that bar.
Speaker 4 (41:56):
I'm a cancer, that's all I mean.
Speaker 2 (41:59):
That's yeah.
Speaker 4 (42:00):
It was very self self motive gang.
Speaker 6 (42:04):
No, yeah, we're the best.
Speaker 4 (42:06):
No.
Speaker 6 (42:07):
Anyways, I hope you guys have a great Tuesday.
Speaker 8 (42:09):
What are you?
Speaker 1 (42:10):
Jonas Gemina?
Speaker 6 (42:12):
I thought you were too cool for that, so you
just proved yourself wrong.
