teams remain. It's Argentina versus England and France versus Spain,
with the winner of both matches heading to the World
Cup Final. Now, we were talking about the fight in
(01:39):
Vegas between bam Adebayo and Tyler Hero.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
It probably lasted longer than what are you about to
bring up? Yeah, it's unfortunate.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
So Connor McGregor makes his return, goes to throw a
jumping switch kick right at the start of the fight
and it appears a significant get knee injury was suffered.
The problem is he may have been injured before the fight,
and so there's been video that's come out. Most notably
(02:13):
they showed pretty quick afterwards on paramount Connor McGregor taking
his shoe off to get into the cage and it
looked like he was favoring the knee. He and his
trainer have come out, you know, on social media and
said there was no injury. There was no you know,
nothing happened before the fight. It was just we had
planned on that, We had drilled that to try and
(02:33):
throw immediately when the fight began. But there's people that
are doubting the validity of that, and it does appear
that there's a little bit of a controversy with the
way that the fight started. But at least Bam landed
a punch. I don't believe a punch was landed in
this fight, so uh no, No.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
The UFC even put out a video of McGregor warming up.
I'm not sure if you saw that, and I don't
know what to make from it because it didn't look
like he was moving one hundred percent, you know. It
looked like he was just going through the motions of
some of his warm up, some of his kicks, things
he wanted to do. But if he did have a
knee injury, you could probably look at that video and say, yeah,
(03:11):
he doesn't look like he's moving as explosive. It looks
like he's moving maybe gingerly on that knee. I can
see where people are consumed. There was even video put
out by folks who was somebody who saw him going
into a medical clinic at some point in time before
the fight, during his training and the way he's walking,
I'll be honest with you. I mean, I don't know
that there's any definitive evidence that he's going in for
(03:35):
that or had an issue with his knee. It looks
like he's maybe a little stiff, maybe a little rigid
from training or something else. Like I don't know what
to draw to it. I mean, var you've been there, right,
you got some of those workouts. I mean, he's in
a camp training for a fight on times. I'm sure
he's sore as hell, So you might be walking stiff
as hell, like walking into someplace to maybe he's getting IV,
(03:55):
maybe he's getting some other treatment. I have no idea.
I just I know that everything that's been put out there.
And then after watching that fight and watching the walk out,
he didn't look the same. And I get he's older,
and I don't know, he's got a lot of other
things that are going on right now.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
He looked unsure.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
It looked like if you were going into a fight
and you've got past experience where you're this beast, you're
this animal, you're on top of the world, which he
was at one point. That that was not the demeanor
he took into that octagon. It looked like there was
either some other thought, concerns, something else, and maybe it
(04:35):
you know, but the reality is it's a thirty million
dollar payoff, so he knows he's got to go in
there and do all he can to make it work.
And you know, again, I'm not I'm not sure if
he just got in there was like, Yep, this ain't
gonna work.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Joe Rogan was like, what the hell is he doing?
Basically like you just don't you don't try that type
of maneuver to try to take that type of attack.
It just seemed like a careless attack. But have you
guys ever been on a on a matt Have you
guys ever been on like like they can like depending
(05:11):
on like how your feet are, it can be really
really slick, and that.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
One is more now because they have more branding logos.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
It can be very very slick, and so you want
to try to make sure you get a good feel for,
you know, how your footing is in a fight. And
this is a this is a prize fight, is a
major fight, So just to come out that early and
(05:41):
take such a aggressive leap forward with such a commit
a commitment to that kick in particular, you.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
Know, it sets up.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
I mean, if he doesn't get hurt, nobody is nobody cares, right,
But the fact that it did it hurt.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
First thing. I thought.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
Everybody's like, oh he blew it out, Oh he blew
it out. Didn't look like he blew it out. It
looked like he was still trying to use it. What
it to me came across as like he bone bruised
that bad boy, Like the way he came down on it,
the force he came down and put his foot down
when he landed, it looked like a bone bruise like
(06:22):
and if you bone bruise immediately that as is almost
It's one of the most painful deals you could deal with, is.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
A bone bruise. During the Monmouth massacre, that was the one.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
Of the that was probably the worst pain you felt
out of everything you did.
Speaker 4 (06:39):
They told me, yeah, you'll recover from this fairly quickly.
The bone bruise will last eight to nine months.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Really, they're right, it's so painful. It is. A bone
bruise is so painful.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
That's what it looked like to me because he still
tried to use his leg like he would put it
down and if you watch it.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Rewatch it he put it down. And if he tried to.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
Over exert, it was like it like what they call
it twins or something like that, like like it's like eh,
like that that pain that hit you and it's like
you just give out, like oh, I'm going down because
of the pain that strikes you when you put the
pressure on it. That's what it kind of struck me.
As that's like when he fell down, it's like, oh
he as soon as he puts that real pressure on it,
(07:25):
that pain is is crazy bad.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
But do you think he heard it from the flying
roundhouse kick then? Is that what you're saying, Because like
I've seen other fights where he he does open with
some like you know, leg sidekicks, leading leg sidekicks or
like spinning back kicks. I haven't seen him do that before,
but he does. He does kind of come out sometimes
it's like a bit flashy, like with his opening And
(07:48):
like I said, if he didn't if he didn't get hurt,
I don't think anybody, I think Joe Rogan would have
still been like what is he doing, but I don't.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
I don't think there would have been too much scrutiny
on what he did. It's just it is what it is.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
But the fact that it did lead to such a
major injury during the course of the match, that's what
I would think is maybe it was already injured or
but he's still I mean, he was moving. How about
that he walked to the he walked out. He walked
out like they didn't have the system out. He looked
like he was walking on a acl Yeah, you could.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
I wonder, you know, I don't know if it was
maybe hurt, but he was like, I can get through it.
And then he further damaged it when he made a
portion to do that. Yeah, And so I wonder because
he is a fast starter and he's also a guy
to where and everyone you know going into the fight
was like, if he's going to win this fight against
Max Holloway was really good.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
It was going to be.
Speaker 4 (08:46):
Early because he he doesn't have the cardio or the
gas tank and he never has in any.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
Of his fights.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
And Max the other day that long did Halloway right,
Halloway He did land punches.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
By the way, Well, there was probably trying not to. Yeah,
but he was.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
He was popping him and he said afterward we stopped
and he said, afterwards, but Gregor was yelling at him
to fight. He's no keep fighting like, told him to
told him to keep punching.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
He was getting socked. Now, he did have a.
Speaker 4 (09:18):
I saw that Connor McGregor did have those cup marks.
So maybe when he was walking into that clinic he
was getting some cupwork done. I don't know exactly what
the cupwork does, but he did have those purple suction
cup marks, you little bitch. Yeah yeah, Patty Pimble thought
he fought in that car too.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
He came.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
That was the kid with the corn rolls. Yeah, yeah,
he's good. How flexible is he? Jujitsu is great?
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Geeze bro.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Geez, you little bitch. He rolled that man over your
little fire books.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
I just think y'all should leave it to him, because
the way y'all say it is way it sounds way different.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
Your little fip bucks.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
Yeah yeah, I say, wait, hey, look though he spun
that man like a crocodile or alligator wild. Yeah, it
literally looked like and the dude couldn't One of the
scariest deals, and and and mixed martial arts is the
idea of if you get if you get to submitted
(10:27):
in a way like that, you don't you don't know,
Like he grabbed his arm and his arm just went down,
but that had to been like one one two seconds,
like one second of getting choked out.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
It feels like an attorney.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Right, let's let let's go. Let's get this out there. Though,
Like the fact part of this is how much did
he make for the fight? Was it thirty.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
McGregor, Yeah, I'm not sure because there's some people of
questioned because they don't have the pay per view model anymore,
so some people have wanted there's not as much clarity
on how much they're getting paid because I don't.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
Know what would be your best guest fifteen. Let's say
the purse was thirty.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
I mean he's the draw twenty, All those all away popular.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
To my point is this, how do you know he's
getting He's getting to the age where you know, every
one of these fights matters more and more. I mean,
I think for like a lot of athletes, you know
the last or final years they've got. I'm not saying
he's done after this, but he is getting up there
in age, he's got a bunch of other ventures things
going on and obviously off you know, outside of the octagon.
(11:39):
That's been well documented to some of the different issues.
But my point is is the money's getting so big,
and we saw this in boxing. We saw this with
Paqui on Mayweather where Pacya went in that fight banged
up from camp, like the money's too big to not
to push this fight back, to not be able to
go through with it. Like that's the problem. And that's
(12:01):
some of the issue that I have with this nowadays,
is you know, in camp, there's gonna be injuries, there's
gonna be things that happened. But for most of these fighters,
like it's too big of a payday, So yeah, we
can have another one at some point. But for McGregor,
like I'm not saying he needs the money. I don't
know his financial situation. He's probably made a ton of money.
But we see other boxes, other fighters guys who need
the money and they're gonna go through with it everything
(12:23):
everything they can just to get there to get that payday.
Are of a shot a portion of that payday. It's
also the Paquia Mayweather fight. I understood the complaints people
had because there was lawsuits afterwards when it came out
that Pakia had the torn rotator cuff, which you can
see him in the Mayweather fight. He I think it
was like the third or fourth round he threw a
(12:44):
punch and you could tell the fight was different after
that because he was doing well at times, but he
just didn't have full ability to throw a punch. And
not that he would have beaten Mayweather anyways, but it
would have been a better fight and give him a
better opportunity because he did have moments in it. But
there was people afterwards that filed law suits because the
pay per view at the time was one hundred dollars
or something like that, and they felt like they were
(13:05):
sold to bill of goods because the guy went in
and he was compromised, so they didn't get what they
thought they.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
Were going to be getting.
Speaker 4 (13:10):
And you don't hear anybody say that with this fight
because it's a streaming service like you already have it,
so you're not paying a pay per view. What about
what people who attended, Well, the people who attended and
also the betters, something like eighty five to ninety percent
of the money was on McGregor. So the sportsbooks did great.
(13:33):
So they're the ones that look at this and go, well,
that sucks. I mean if the guy was injured going
into the fight. But you guys talk about all the time,
at what point during the NFL season are.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
You healthy day one of training camp? Right, So all
of these guys, depending on what.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
Year you're in in the league, because once you're in
the league for a little bit never.
Speaker 4 (13:57):
I mean, so all of these these fighters go into
fights banged up. They all do, and like their training
camps are hard, you know, you see you mentioned the
suction cups whatever. Some guys will have a bum ankle
and so instead of wrapping one ankle, to wrap both
of them. So it just seems like, oh, they're just
they want to have you know, better better grip or
(14:17):
better feel. Or they've got one knee brace on, so
they'll throw another one on so nobody thinks anything. Or
one jock strap, yeah, something like that, you know, with
two ass cheeks. And so I look at it, I
go had he not fought, then they would have criticized
him because that's happened before to where he suffered an
injury and wasn't able to make make the walk and
make the fight, and so he got criticized for that.
(14:39):
And so yeah, he went and banged up, but I
think all these guys go going banged up. And so
the criticism that Paqiao got back then, imagine all those
people that were looking forward to that pay per view
and Pacy I was like, I can't fight.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
I've got a hurt shoulder.
Speaker 3 (14:53):
They talked so bad about they had to talk so
bad about him. The people who went to the fight,
I mean, you made it. You could tell it was
a spectacle. There were so many celebrities at the fight.
You could tell that it was a like this is
a night out, like this is Connor McGregor's name draws
like a like a Floyd mayweb. And the card was great,
(15:14):
except it was a great car said that right, that's crazy, man.
Speaker 4 (15:19):
But like imagine if it was one hundred dollars pay
per view, then there people will be like, oh, come
on man, we didn't we didn't get what we what.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
We bought here. But it's a streaming service. You already
you already have paramount.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
Plus it will be interesting to see what what the
cuts were. But and I could care less why he
was fighting I mean sometimes you just you try. I mean,
we're we're seeing that Aaron Donald was at the facility
and stuff like that. I mean, if if you feel
as though you still got it and you want to
feel that energy and you can actually make the fight,
(15:51):
or you can make the team to go try, I
don't I don't you know. I don't slight them or
judge them not one bit for trying to do it.
But I will say, how old is he? Thirty seven
seven and he hasn't fought in a long time. It's
just one of those things that your mind is a
very strong mind. And listen, guys that are in mixed
(16:14):
martial arts, they keep going.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
They do it for their entire lives. But being in.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
A competitive match versus sparring at a dojo or at
a gym is very different, and you start to realize,
like even like in like different sports, you start to
realize that almost I liken it to like dehydrated, dehydrated
ligaments and dried up and.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
Disappear cartilage.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
You have so many things about your body that have
changed that you make the wrong move. There's a quad tier.
You make a wrong move. Here, there's a hamstring tear.
You make a bad move here, it's an achilles tendon.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
You do that.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
It's a the older you get and the less your
body is able to go to that level of competing,
you're just you're just at risk for weird ass injuries
like that to happen.
Speaker 4 (17:13):
As as what Brady was saying, he looked off when
he walked into the cave. You've never seen him with that.
He looked like Chuck Ladelle at the end. He just
he looked uncertain of what was gonna happen. And he
never looked like that. It didn't matter who he was fighting.
He always looked confident. He always looked like he was
ready to go. And that one that just seemed like
there was something going on.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
That's part of his show. That's part of who he is,
you know, as far as how he presents himself, how
he's always gone out and fought before and he always
has had this huge sense of confidence whether or not
he was gonna win or not. Like that was at
least what was on display, you know, from everything pre
fight to the fight itself and up until the moment
they start fighting. Even during the fight at times, you know,
(17:55):
I mean I literally went back through and watched other
highlights of other starts of fights just to kind of
compare Air and C. It was an.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
Entirely different beating.
Speaker 1 (18:03):
Yeah, Like I mean again, the kick wasn't out of
the norm for like something he kind of does sometimes.
I guess maybe that particular kick was different, but he
just there was something, something was off. And so again
I don't want to make too much more of it,
but when you have an early thing like that, you
have this much money on the line. I hate to
(18:24):
be cynical, but think like, hey, man, if you had
got injured during camp and you had a twenty million
dollar whatever number will put on us thirty million dollars
pay day coming, You'll think. And here's the thing is,
if you're UFC and I make that thing up, I'm
not saying Dana White's doing this. It's just it's a
tough business. Like the only thing that hurts your business
(18:45):
the most if you have a cancelation for your headlining match,
Like that's that's what hurts business the most. Where you start,
you know, having the inability to get some of these
big draws, big names, to actually get to the fight itself.
So I look at it and say yeah, I'm a
little bit cynical of you know what, maybe all went on, sure,
because we've seen it before and fights we've seen it before,
(19:07):
and whether it be boxing or other venues like it's,
it's happened before. So it's hard not to be a
skeptic about how this whole thing went down. And obviously
you feel for McGregor because even if he I mean
think about it from his standpoint, even if he was
battling through whatever it was to get into that ring
and try to fight, that's a tough position to be
(19:27):
in too. So I'm not I'm not trying to put
necessarily the blame on anyone. It's just the money's getting
so big now, man. These guys are just trying to
make it there, whether they're healthy or not. And you
can understand obviously why he would you feel that way
and be put in that position.
Speaker 4 (19:40):
So the last time he fought, he suffered a leg
break to where he was fighting Dustin Poirier and he
stepped back and his leg folded like his above his ankle.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
It was gross.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
So I don't think it popped out of the skin,
but it's one of those it was bad fracture.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
It was a bad one.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
Chris Weidman suffered Anderson Silva for the same thing. So
the story behind that one was he broke it in camp.
He cracked it throwing a kick in camp, and so
he went in compromised and then stepped back and snapped.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
So that one right there.
Speaker 4 (20:17):
Had he pulled out of that fight, that you know,
people would have been pissed off about that. And so
he went in there and fight and fought. And so
you wonder he looks at this and goes and Patty,
what was the number on the payout you said you had.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
They're seeing that Ariel Helwanie reported at fifteen million in
guaranteed pers money.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
Right, so he's getting fifteen million dollars and it's like, man,
my knees doesn't feel right, But for fifteen million dollars,
maybe I could go out there and fight through it.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
Maybe I can land a punch because he's because he
is a warrior. He's a warrior.
Speaker 1 (20:49):
I mean what he fought. Let's not forget too. There's
other people who are relying on him, like everyone in
his corner. Everyone's a part of his camp. Like there's
other people. You got a payout two that are a
part of this, and so that's that's the tough part.
It's not you know, obviously his family and everything else,
but it's not just him trying to get that paid.
It's everyone who comes along with him. And that becomes
tough towards the end, right like you you get a fighters. Again,
(21:12):
I'm not trying to put a shelf life on him,
but he's They ain't getting any younger. The injuries are
piling up, and usually the people who are in your corner,
they start looking out for themselves saying, well, well, who's
next man, who can I jump on with next to
be in their corner. And that's that's again not saying
that as to be controversial, just saying.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
That's the reality of it.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
They got to look out for their livelihood too, and
so there's a ton of pressure for those fighters going
here in those rings, realizing how many people's livelihoods are
on the line that they're taken care of.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
Now, there was another issue that popped up at the.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
U that wasn't probably the worst thing that happened.
Speaker 4 (21:52):
So she coorse Stevenson, who's a phenomenal boxer, just tremendous,
just signed a deal with zoofa boxing Dana White's boxing
company that he's promoting. Chakar Stephenson and Shannon Sharp went
at it, and uh Shannon Sharp looked like he was
a little rattled there at one point with the way
(22:12):
shoot or uh Chakor Stephenson was was talking to him.
And so they showed Chakar Stephenson on the screen during
the pay per view event. The problem is the graphics
that it was Jalen Williams of the Oklahoma City thunder Haters.
Now this has happened before. They showed Terence Crawford. I
(22:32):
believe that the White House card and the graphics showed
Kendrick Lamar If I'm not leaders.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
So Dana White. So Dana White was.
Speaker 4 (22:42):
Dana White spoke about it post UFC on Saturday Night.
Speaker 5 (22:47):
I tell you all the time, my production team, we
just did the White House. We built arena on the
south lawn of the White House, and it was the
greatest thing in the world to be there live and
to watch it on TV. I just paid Course Stephenson
load of money. And for some reason, we can't figure
this celebrity out.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
They put them up as OKSE NBA player. Are you kidding?
Speaker 6 (23:09):
Me.
Speaker 5 (23:09):
I mean, it's just it's absolutely crazy. But we are
the absolute worst to ever do the celebrity thing. When
we put celebrities up, we are the worst. I just
had the debate in the back with my guys while
I was screaming and everybody back there, and they said, no,
Soccer's worst. Soccer shows the people and they don't they
don't put up any graphics. Oh no, we put a
(23:30):
graphics and put the wrong guy's name on it.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
We win.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
We're the worst ever. Hey, man, if you will to
go behind the scenes for TV, what it sounds like
to have an exact starts showing you that that was
a peak behind the scenes. That's why I respect the
hell of that man.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
He at least calls it.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
He sees it out outwardly like there was nothing said
behind closed doors that wasn't said behind the scenes right there.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
I'm sure Shannon Short was sitting somewhere happy.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
What can I say this though, people have to understand
how this comes together. God blessed the cameramen out there.
Hard men and women work in the cameramans because there
are times like they're told just to shoot towards certain direction,
crowd people and everything else, and oftentimes, like you know, again,
(24:21):
the people behind the scenes, some of these people like
they like sports, but they're they're like a freelancer, or
they're working for different networks and companies, and like they
might not love the sport they're initially working for that night.
They're just trying to do a job. And oftentimes, like
they could miss id someone right, they might shoot at
the wrong person with the camera. They might they might
(24:42):
be shooting the person. There's someone behind the scenes trying
to put that name and title logo on there, and
they don't do it right because honestly, like they don't know,
like they don't know what the person looks like. So
I feel bad because there's a lot of people behind
the scenes who work really really hard, but they're not
all into like every sport they do because they do
this year around, and they like travel different sports and
they're on the road all the time, and it's just
(25:03):
it's a lot. And so I feel bad because they're
kind of get thrown under the bus here. And I
think if you knew the nuances to like how it
works behind the scenes for any event or TV, it
is chaotic and like you know, oftentimes they're just being
directed by someone else to put it in a certain direction,
and there's someone above them who's telling them, like, hey,
(25:25):
that's who this is right, And then people get stuff wrong.
Happens all the time.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
We all look alike.
Speaker 1 (25:36):

Near the wall on three run home run awage.
Speaker 8 (27:26):

Speaker 9 (28:03):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (28:03):
No, Hey, what was the the judge?
Speaker 2 (28:06):
What was the gabble for?
Speaker 1 (28:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (28:08):
What was what was that thing for? You know why?
Speaker 1 (28:11):
Yeah, because you keep trying to interject the Cubs as
are only highlights begin I mean you didn't have you
did have a wibbled in like one of the you know,
four majors of tennis played. You don't want to do
you want to touch that? Talk about that?
Speaker 2 (28:24):
You did the Cubs again, Yes, show, I wasn't even
listen to the show. No, I was so ill played
again then I was playing Fly Pall Deep Left, but
they got the track.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
Near the wall.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
Gone three run.
Speaker 8 (28:43):
Home Run, Alex pregnant and the Cubs have broken it open.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
They're up eight to four, breaking it open.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
Here on the seventh.
Speaker 4 (28:51):
Cubs Radio Network, All to Call at your tire Rack
Play of the Day. For over forty years, Tirack's been
helping customers find the right tires for how, what and
where they drive. Shipped fast and back by Free Road
has a protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation,
tire rack dot Com, The Way Tire Buying Show you really.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
Did it again?
Speaker 1 (29:10):
The Cubs should come for you, man, You know they
should come at Cubs network.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
Are you listening whatever that network may be?
Speaker 1 (29:19):
Jonas knocks man maybe day one he be your best guy.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
I'm good man. I like it here.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
That's interesting because I was so I was so thrown
off back getting to the Monkey.
Speaker 3 (29:31):
That that I wasn't even listening to the plane.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
I don't even know what that's the song? Is that
the next lyric on the songs?
Speaker 1 (29:41):
Yeah, I'm trying to get to you and the monkey,
you know, Pole Assassin.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
Okay, sure that's what they meant.
Speaker 4 (29:51):
You know what they meant, Hey, what's going on with
Bam out of Bio and Tyler Herro Little U fisticuffs
a little walks up to a guy in front of
an AAU team and pops him.
Speaker 1 (30:08):
I love about the NBA, though, there's nothing like a
fight between two other guys that creates a fight between
two other guys like pam Adebayo and Tyler Hero getting
in a fight somehow has now led to a beef
between Draymond Green and e Donna's Haslam. It's like, what's
happening here? Is?
Speaker 2 (30:24):
Oh wow?
Speaker 1 (30:25):
I got that promoting a future charity boxing match between
those two just because I guess you Donnas had said
something back in the day about you know whatever it
had occurred between a couple of players, and then Draymond
brought up something between you Donnas and Jimmy Butler. I
(30:47):
guess when Jimmy Bung got to Miami. It's just it's
like a whole thing.
Speaker 2 (30:49):
It's incredible Patty Patty action.
Speaker 4 (30:52):
Well Donna's has on that guy is is the Miami
Heat like he like he really does. Boy, that's his
that's his team. And so even when he was just
there and he just was on the bench. He was
basically just an extension of Eric Spolstra, and so anything
(31:13):
to protect the Heat and the name, the Heat name
and their their image and anything like that. He's going
to be the guy who's going to be at the
forefront of it. And so when Draymond Green brings up,
you know, the situation, then he brings you know, Eudonnas
Haslm brings up you know, Jordan Poole and Draymond Green
punching Jordan Poole, and then you know, talking about you know,
(31:35):
Bam and Tyler going at it. It's like, how is
there not video of this? How is there not been
video that surfaced of Bamum punching Tyler Hero. It's Vegas,
it's the summer League. There's cameras everywhere, there's an AAU
team there, and we don't have any footage of it.
Their arms are so long, They're just such long people.
It's just weird to see NBA people try to bang.
(32:00):
I don't know, man, I'd rather them be shorter, yeah,
I mean, because they're going to miss. And like, how
much how much power can you generate?
Speaker 1 (32:14):
I want you to pick between two small people boxing
or two seven footers in the NBA, Which would you
rather watch fight?
Speaker 2 (32:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (32:22):
I mean probably the boxers because you're going to get
better action.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
I don't think you listen to the question two small
people boxing or to seven footers boxing. They're both boxing.
It's just you know the size and length of the individual.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
Yeah, I get it. So what am I missing? Did
I miss? Which?
Speaker 4 (32:43):
What do you want to see? What do you want
to watch? Do you want to see a couple of
garden gnomes go at it? Or do you want to
see a couple of wind puppets?
Speaker 1 (32:51):
Do you I'm using I'm using what's the correct terms?
Speaker 2 (32:55):
Okay, Spudweb versus Muggsy Bogue.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
Even smaller?
Speaker 3 (33:00):
Oh oh, I would much rather see that. I would
much rather see that than seven footers than chet Holmgrin
versus what would be okay? But that would be a
funny fight too, though. All right, you ever see you
ever see mister Burns like try to smack Smithers in
the Simpsons?
Speaker 2 (33:19):
You ever see how Oh that's what it would look like.
It's like that.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
It's like it's not very It's right, you're you remember, Patty, Yeah,
I know exactly what you be punching him really tired.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
Like that. That's what seven footers would look like. Now,
you mentioned DeMarcus Cousins earlier. Now, if he was fighting,
say who.
Speaker 2 (33:49):
Would be a good one, Charles Oakley.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
If Charles Oakley and DeMarcus Cousins were fighting, I'm in.
But for the most part, if you ever, if you
ever pay attention to NBA guys when they beef and
they fight, they never fight. They never fight, and you
never really see unless it's just straight up.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
Now, there's a few Steve Jack.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
Pat Mallie in the Palace Metal World Peace like they
gonna pop you in your mouth.
Speaker 4 (34:21):
There's those are those are There's some good ones out there.
Played for the heat for a while, So was it
James Johnson? He played for the heat for a while.
He was a legit fighter like he I think he
was like a Muay Thai fighter or something those lines,
and everybody knew like he never got into an altercation
because everybody knew, not him, not.
Speaker 3 (34:39):
Him, not that, because really, because James Jones is wanted,
that's the goat. All I'm saying is you don't never
see him really fight like you saw Barkley. Scoop Scoop shack.
They got into their little deal, but it went't crazy.
I mean the Rudy Tom tom Yanovitch how you say
his last name, Tom Tom Johnovan tom Gianovich. I mean
(35:03):
they used to get like like Robert Parr's big chief.
You know, he'd punched you in your mouth. But you
just don't see guys that can bang in the n
F in the NBA. I just I don't know. I
wouldn't want to see it.
Speaker 1 (35:17):
Yeah, it was James Johnson. He was a kickboxer.
Speaker 3 (35:19):
Yeah, not that boy, just say not no, no, not that.
Speaker 4 (35:24):
It's just he was one of those guys where it's
like yeah, just yeah, anybody else he's fine, he's fine.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
That guy right over there, not him, Yeah, that's not
so really stole on him. Go ahead, Yeah, can we
go back?
Speaker 1 (35:36):
Well, actually we don't have enough time. Can we take
us to the next segment.
Speaker 2 (35:39):
Yeah, let's do it.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
Okay, because I think there's a backstory to like why
the fight occurred in the first place and where it occurred.
My understanding was that summer right well, they was probably
a camp.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
I thought, yeah, but they're all in Vegas right there.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
That's like goods.
Speaker 4 (35:57):
Imagine going to au practice house Practice Today, Timmy.
Speaker 3 (36:03):
Trauma tas Tyler Heron Funny Traumatized.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
By the Way.

a reminder trained to push past the pay not athletes,
just people trafficked every day right here in the United States,
sometimes by someone they trusted. During the World Cup. Helped
us break the silences at blue campaign dot gov slash
World Cup to learn more. Paid for by the Department
(37:19):
of Homeland Security. And it's been a long time, way
too long since we've had some international flare on the show.
And we will talk about somebody who's a bit of
a renaissance man Morrows. See you talk about somebody who
can do it all. You want to talk hockey, he
(37:40):
can do it. You want to talk soccer, it's John Morosi.
You want to talk baseball, he can do it. And
if you want him to do all of that in Italian,
he can do that too. He is John More's Paul Morosi,
senior MLB network reporter, Fox Sports Radio, MLB insider and
(38:02):
a World Cup contributor. Get him on X at John
Rossi JPM.
Speaker 2 (38:08):
How are you? Lon e.
Speaker 9 (38:11):
Miakatich is great to be with all of you. Good
morning to my dear friends. That's what I said in
Italian just a moment ago. But love our conversations and
it is great to be back on the show today.
Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (38:23):
Awesome.
Speaker 1 (38:24):
JP got sewn for like a number of topics, though,
I mean, we've got World Cup, We've got the All
Star Game. I mean we could mention Michigan, although we
just talked about that. Maybe we don't want to talk
about what's happening there right now.
Speaker 9 (38:36):
It's so rady. I guess what I will. The ins
all gives you on the happenings at the University of
Michigan is probably the same two word response that has
applied to much of the last three to four years
around these parts. It's complicated. It complicated, But all I
got on that one. I mean, I think it's gonna
(38:57):
take some days to settle out. I mean, it is
remarkable how in the last several years a university that
has won both the NCAA football and basketball championships are
in such great turmoil. But that appears to be the case.
Speaker 2 (39:14):
JP.
Speaker 4 (39:15):
Obviously we're at the All Star break, biggest I guess surprise,
both good and bad. Through the first half, technically speaking,
not the first half, but you know what I mean,
through the first portion of the MLB season in your
mind thus far.
Speaker 9 (39:34):
So I'll go with a two part surprise on the
negative side, which is that both of the American League
teams that were in the American League Championship Series just
a year ago, a classic seven gamer Toronto and Seattle
both are under five hundred right now. That I did
not see that coming, And ironically it's a couple of
(39:56):
their stars that are part of the reason Vladimer Gurero
Junior having a tough season, cal Raley and Seattle having
a tough season. Of course, also in the superstar category
in the American League, Aaron Judge is injured, and now,
of course the Yankees are still in a playoff position,
three games back of the Rays. I think on the
positive side, as we're talking about it, think about this,
(40:20):
who would have said that at the All Star break
in the American League the three first place teams would
be the Rays, the White Sox, albeit in a tie
with the Guardians, and then the Texas Rangers. No one
would have thought that the Red Sox fire their manager
and somehow end the first half on a nine game
(40:40):
winning streak. And then on the National League side of things,
you've got teams like the Marlins the Pirates, they're both
above five hundred right there in the wild card race.
The Nationals are there on the periphery. So it has
been a year of the unexpected. Of course, the Dodgers
are the expected. Everyone expect them to be good, and
they are. But along the way, a lot of these
(41:01):
other teams were talking about gentlemen have really surprised in
different ways.
Speaker 3 (41:08):
I'll jump in John, talk about the World Classic. It
just concluded. Obviously, the US made it to the championship round,
made a game of it late, but Venezuela ultimately came
out on top. What it seems as though, its sounds
as though the conversations that came out of the Classic
(41:30):
is it's growing just as big as as a World
Cup type of sports spectacles.
Speaker 2 (41:36):
What's your take on it? Did you enjoy it this year?
What's like?
Speaker 3 (41:39):
What was the I guess the post conversations about the Classic?
Speaker 9 (41:44):
Well, I love this question, LeVar. You're asking the right guy,
because this is really it's like a fastball for me
right down the middle. I mean, I love that event
so much what an international year it's been, by the way,
you think about the World Cup and soccer going on
right now, the US winning double goals at the Olympics
in ice hockey, and then of course the World Baseball Classic,
and it was even more in retrospect when you consider
(42:07):
what Venezuela has gone through with the earthquake here in
recent weeks, just the emotional positive point that that tournament
was for them. You think back to just what baseball
means to Venezuela in a cultural way, and that's true
of so many different countries. LeVar and Brady and Jonas
just how special the game is. And we're seeing a
(42:29):
very similar type of energy right now during the World
Cup in the soccer side of things. So it's soccer
is the world game where every continent, everybody knows it
and loves it. Baseball it is followed with that same passion,
just maybe not in quite as many different places. And
so when you were watching those games and actually had
(42:50):
the pleasure of bringing my parents down to a couple
of games there in Houston for them to experience it,
which was awesome. So it was a new dimension for
me to see my mom and that up in the
stands loving the World Baseball Classic too, So it is
it is like a family, and I think the way
that this last month of World Cup soccer has gone
reminds us what a big sports family we can be
(43:13):
as a world, and how well we do sports if
you look at it that way. I'm a believer that
the World Baseball Classic, as great as it was this year, LeVar,
the best is yet to come for the event. I
think you can get even bigger you think about more
and more countries getting involved. I would love to see
the World Baseball Classic, maybe not this year because we're
obviously focused on the World Cup, but in another year,
(43:36):
moving the finals of it to the All Star break
and really owning this week, owning this time. Yere football
training camps haven't started yet, of course, so we've got
this narrow window to really own the sports calendar. And
a non World Cup year, I hope is the next
time that we've got a World Baseball Classic the finals,
the semi finals, and the finals are played right now.
Speaker 1 (43:58):
Yeah. I love that idea, JP, And and you mentioned
it a couple of times. Speaking of more current events
going on right now, the World Cup, we were talking
a little bit about it earlier. There's some talk momentum
that maybe this thing expands from forty eight to sixty four. Like,
what say you about that sort of expansion, You know, Brady.
Speaker 9 (44:14):
It's a great question. I am generally supportive of more
teams being involved, not the least of which if it
was a sixty four team field that somehow Italy might
have found their way into the tournament this year. But
that's a separate conversation about my beloved Italian national team
in je with them in recent years. But the big
picture point is some of my favorite stories in this
(44:37):
World Cup were smaller countries that might not have made
it in other structures. Okay, you think about Dr Congo,
you think about Cabo Verde and Vozina, the goalkeeper who
went from having a few thousand Instagram followers to millions
based on one performance against Spain, and then of course
(44:58):
he follows it up with other performances. So for me,
the quality of soccer around the world has been affirmed
by the way this tournament has gone. It might be
when you think about expanding it to its current form
and then even more beyond that, that's pretty rapid and
all at once. But you think about the NCAA basketball tournament,
(45:20):
and it's still it's still magical when you get right
down to it. And for those that would have thought that,
oh my gosh, that if you invite more and more teams,
either the product is going to suffer, well that was
not the case this time. It was great soccer from
beginning to end, and or they was going to skew
the results. Well, if you look at the semi finals,
the four teams that probably should have made it all
(45:41):
made it. So it's an interesting conversation point, Brady, but
I would be generally supportive of it, especially because this
next time when they have it, it's going to be
hosted among again multiple countries are really big footprint, So
I'm generally supportive of involving more of the world in this.
Speaker 4 (45:59):
Great spec He is John Paul Morosi, senior MLB Network reporter,
Fox Sports Radio MLB insider, joining us here on Fox
Sports Radio. Get him on X at John Morosi JP.
I'm curious because obviously here locally in southern California, in
Los Angeles, you know, we know sort of the love
and you know, the the love affair that the fans
(46:21):
have with the Dodgers we've seen the success they've had
there in the midst of a dynasty and all that
from your perspective, maybe on the outside, from a national view,
you look at a move like bringing Kyle Tucker, it's
just not gone well and it doesn't matter. It almost
seems like they are so loaded and so good that
(46:41):
whether it's injuries, a signing that doesn't work out that
they paid an insane amount of money for, they just
seem to be so far ahead of everybody else, good
or bad for the sport.
Speaker 9 (46:54):
Good good for the sport in what they do and
that they set the standard and and what I'll be
really curious about, and with all three of you, in
your experiences and being around pro sports, I think one
of the unique dynamics of if we do get a
salary cap in this industry in the coming years, which
is possible, that that the the advantages will increasingly be
(47:18):
on the things that the public does not see all
the time. And what I will say, and Brady, you
think about your career and LeVar you as well, You're
playing for different teams and players know. Players know which
teams treat their their their players the right way. Players
know which teams do it right behind the scenes, how
(47:39):
they take care of families, how they take care of
their players, and the Dodgers do it all right. They've
got They've got former players who didn't even play for
the Dodgers who want to then go work for the
Dodgers because they realize how great they are and treating
their employees and and just developing their their front office people.
It's like, this is the this is the Harvard of
(48:01):
sports organizations right now. People want to go there. They
want to learn why they do things very well, and
that is to their credit, and the way they do
things away from the field of play impacts the way
they do it on the field of play, and players
talk they're smart. Otani wanted to play there, Tucker wanted
to play there, Bookie Best wanted to play there. Freddie
(48:23):
Freeman wanted to play there. It's not just the guys
they draft and develop. They bring in great talent because
of how they operate their organization. So they set the standard.
They bring everyone else's level up. And if we're getting
to a time in the future where the marginal dollar
you can't always spend, if there's a salary cap, what
you can still do is operate your organization in the
(48:44):
best possible way. And so what I'm saying is that
the Dodgers are not just a top of the standings team.
They are an industry leader, best in class the way
they do things in just about every way, and that
I believe will make the industry and the sport stronger
in the long run.
Speaker 3 (48:59):
John Culture, positive culture. I'm curious, you know, doing a
little bit of research on and and just you know,
I'm not a big soccer fan, but but just doing
some of the conversations early on, there was the conversation
points that there were more this was the highest number
(49:19):
concentration of players to play in the World Cup that
had played abroad, and and that might have been the
reason why they were so competitive early on in the
Cup matchups, but they they still were outclassed.
Speaker 2 (49:36):
And for endo, the US, yes, the US of course.
Speaker 3 (49:40):
And and and and realizing that once you get down
to the elite powers culturally speaking, is is men's soccer
in the US going to be able to ever close
the gap on on some of these other powerhouse countries
for the sport.
Speaker 9 (50:00):
You know, it's a great question, LeVar. I think that
eventually that gap will Titan and within all of our lifetimes.
The US did reach a quarterfinal back in two thousand
and two. The sport wasn't as big then in the
US as it is now, but so it does. There
is at least some proof that you can make the
final eight. In that game, it's forever ago, but if
(50:23):
a handball had been fairly given, the US might well
have won that game and gotten to the semi final.
So it's it's possible, it can happen. There's two things
I think about though with this number one. As much
as there's been this robust conversation around pay to play
and it's all fair, there are certainly we are not
getting all of the best athletes and developing them all
(50:44):
in the best ways in the US, which is a
long discussion that we don't have time for right now.
But I do think that there are ways to help
the initial pipeline, broaden it out, bring more young people
into the sport, and make it affordable for them. I
think that is a big picture topic that all of
us who are involved in sports, any sports parent, any
(51:06):
sports coach, we all have shared responsibility of making that better.
I do think that the MLS next academies which have
only recently come into being in the last ten years
or so, we have yet to see. We have yet
to just based on the age that these players are,
we have yet to see the full benefits of that.
I think eventually we will to where there are more
(51:28):
players that are developed, at least initially from within the
MLS system that eventually they go and play in Europe.
I think we will have a more talented team four
years from now than we did this year. I really
believe that based on the ages of some of the
younger players, a lot of the players on this team
that were key in the formation of what this team's
(51:51):
identity was, they will be back, which is a good thing.
By the way, this is a good team. It was
a good team that had a bad game at the
worst possible time. That's what happened. And were they as
good as Belgium. Probably not in terms of talent and merit,
but they were a lot closer than what that game appeared.
So I'm an optimist. I think that we're going to
continue to see more of our American players playing in
(52:14):
top European leagues. The overall pipeline here domestically is getting better.
And I'm a believer that the best is yet to come.
And I think one of the things that you look
at competitively, we're a year away from from the women's
national team being back at the Women's World Cup, and
we are one of the dominant countries there with the
(52:35):
way that women's soccer has grown so well in our country.
So it can be done. The women have shown it.
The men showed it right up until the last game
this time around. So I'm a believer gentlemen, that the
best is still yet to come for US soccer.
Speaker 1 (52:47):
Yeah, I hope, so hope that's the case. Build up
a lot of momentum. I think this World Cup. I
want to stand on topic just we talked about this
earlier too, the VAR replay system, if you will, and
we have credited LeVar Arrington for being who they named
the VAR replace system after JP.
Speaker 9 (53:04):
That would be like the like the Spanish way of
saying it like VAR.
Speaker 2 (53:10):
That's correct to watch the article.
Speaker 9 (53:12):
At the beginning, So I think VAR you may even
I mean it's it's you should like a sponsorship. There's
like a marketing thing there with something offe Okay, all right,
sounds good.
Speaker 1 (53:23):
As I said, like there's like a LeVar leaf into
the var to like actually watch it would weep into
the var. You know, there's been some controversy in regards
to how it's been used, but I would argue I
think it's actually been great because it's cleaned up some
of the flopping at least in some a couple instances.
And it feels like that that model is relatively quick
compared to other sports and how they go about doing it.
(53:45):
I mean baseball has used kind of the the strike ball,
you know, using that technology too has been great. Is
this something you want to see expanded more upon as
far as like how I guess the World Cup or
how FIFA is implemented the soccer this year?
Speaker 9 (53:58):
Del Brady, I love this question because it really it
became such a big topic and is in so many ways.
And obviously the flow Balligan decision, which is entirely separate category,
but it was related obviously to Dvara Initially, A couple
thoughts in this thing. Number one, it helps you get
the calls right, and I fully agree the best part
of it this World Cup has been the ability to
(54:23):
properly penalize flopping and if you're flopping in a way
that you're trying to debate the official into giving a
yellow card to the other team, but it's found that
you flopped your way into doing that, you should get penalized.
And I know the Swiss didn't like it. I'm sorry
that was that was a dive and the way you
fix that is don't dive. So that I mean, for me,
(54:43):
that was a I love the way that they've been
able to actually also remove a lot of the dead time.
This hasn't been talked about quite as much, but you
would sometimes see players really delaying the throw in or
they would take it's you know, it's like the oldest
trick in the book to delay the game. But we've
seen a quicker game. I think it's been a better
product overall. There have been a couple instances where and again,
(55:07):
like the Balligan ruling, I don't think they should have
made it a red initially because it just it wasn't intentional.
It was in the flow of play. We've relitigated this
innumerable times, but the point is that to me, v
R should not be utilized to get a little technicality
and say, okay, well we didn't recognize this at all
(55:27):
in the flow of play, but let's go back and
re engineer it. I didn't love the the one that
was that was taken away earlier on in the in
the Egypt game where a clear goal was removed when
it was like five plays before. So there's there's been
a little bit too excessive application of VR in my opinion.
But but the the flopping is the perfect application of it,
(55:51):
and I hope becomes a real tent pole of the
way that we do this in the future. It just
makes the game a little more a little more honest.
I think that's one of the biggest things that as
a casual sports fan you would look at it and say, Okay,
we got to improve this. About soccer, they've improved it,
I think as long as we put a little bit
more guardrails on what is reviewable what is not, because
even in baseball as broadly applied as we're seeing replay,
(56:13):
there are still some things that are not reviewable. And
it'd be like going into an NBA game and say,
wait a minute, they missed to travel five you know,
ten seconds before the basket, So we got to really
go back and rewind. I mean, you'd be doing it
over and over again to the point the game loses
its integrity. There's a fine line to be drawn there.
I think that we need to be a little bit
(56:36):
more definitive on where that line is. But in general,
I'm with you. I think it's been a good implementation
of the expanded use of var in this tournament.
Speaker 3 (56:45):
That was one great response man, very well, well spoken
and just that was a great explanation.
Speaker 2 (56:54):
That's all I mean. I was really enthralled by it.
Speaker 4 (56:57):
Yes, JP uh home run Derby All Star Game, both
in Philly. Is this just going to be a celebration
of Kyle Schwarber as he just hits tanks, you know,
hopefully out of the stadium coming up later on tonight?
Is your pick to win the Derby? And then who
do you got as an MVP pick for the All
(57:17):
Star Game?
Speaker 9 (57:18):
Yeah? So I'm with you. I think Schwarber for me,
remember the swing off a year ago. He loves a
big moment. What a great career he's had. By the way,
I think it's important people to remember, first of all,
it was ten years ago he wins the World Series
with the Cubs. But then a couple of years after that,
it was after the twenty twenty season he was let
go by the Cubs, just non tender cut from the team.
(57:42):
He batted one to eighty eight that year, totally revived
his career in twenty twenty one and is now a
perennial All Star, one of the most beloved and popular
players in the game.
Speaker 2 (57:53):
He just he's gonna be John. He's gonna be a
Hall of Famer. Like he's trending in that.
Speaker 9 (57:59):
Direction one hundred percent. And that's kind of where I'm
at with it. He's got ten years of service now,
he's already got three hundred and seventy two homers. Man,
if he and he's the kind of guy where he
played one sixty two last year, he has played his
way into that conversation. If he can get around like
another one hundred to one hundred and twenty five homers
(58:19):
in his career, which is as long as he's productive
into his later thirties, I think he will be. Man,
he'll be there. I mean, his his resume, and you'll
compare it to like a John Carlos Stanton's. He's got
an eight to fifty two ohps for his career right now.
I mean, Jonas, I'm kind of talking my way into
this to say that he's he's a dude and now
(58:40):
MVP for the All Star Game. I've got Junior Camanaro.
I think he's become a superstar with the Rays. Loved
the way he plays part of the Derby two. So
I've got Schwarber winning the Derby. Junior caman Arrow is
the MVP of the All Star Game. I can't wait.
And by the way, for our colleagues on the TV
side at Fox, how about that Tuesday won't come the
semi final and then the All Star Game. That that,
(59:02):
my friends, is the day to just enjoy the sports fan.
I just enjoy all these great moments that we got
coming up this week.
Speaker 2 (59:10):
JP.
Speaker 1 (59:10):
The only issue with that, because it's gonna be a
great down with I'm right there with you, is LeVar
will not be watching either of those two events. So unfortunately,
that's that's the stance he's taken all during the World
Cup and probably during Baseball.
Speaker 2 (59:22):
It's unfortunately.
Speaker 9 (59:23):
Okay, Well, Leavar, we can we can still be friends.
It's good.
Speaker 2 (59:27):
Well, I get my fixes from you. That's why I
gave you your flowers.
Speaker 3 (59:30):
I mean, you gave me so much information and it
made it almost interesting. Enough for me want to want
to watch it on a consistent basis.
Speaker 9 (59:39):
But I love it well anywhere that I could be
about LeVar, you let me know. And then obviously, well
we'll get plenty of good big ten of Notre Dame
conversations we can well, i'll tell you what you know.
We started by referencing Michigan little bit early. You know, Brady,
I think CJ. Carr made the right call by playing
for the Irish. I think they're gonna be think he
did too. He he's my Island pro runner right now.
(01:00:02):
I got him as the eyes of pro runner right now.
Speaker 1 (01:00:04):
Nice, I agree, I agree with you. You know what's
funny is his little brother. I think we'll be playing
sooner than later at Michigan. Just a feeling, but based
on what he looked like in the spring game and
what he's capable of. I think Michigan might have another
car back in the in the Blue and maze.
Speaker 9 (01:00:20):
What an amazing family, and I think it was just
it was great for CJ. That to have his own
path and Notre Dame. You can just tell what an
impressive young man he is. Obviously, you know him. Brady
is just great young man, great family, and who's kid
is he?
Speaker 2 (01:00:33):
John, Who's kid is he? It's Lloyd Carr. W Lloyd Carr.
Speaker 1 (01:00:41):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. By the way, Actually, on that note, JP,
you could help Lavara. Do you have any do you
do you watch Love Island? Because that seems to be
a show that he's really passionate about.
Speaker 2 (01:00:50):
It was a season finale last night.
Speaker 9 (01:00:53):
I do not that is I'll say this, Lavara, and
I'm I'm just I'm proud to say this. Respect I
am not an insider on Love Island.
Speaker 3 (01:01:03):
Got arms? Well, well, John, let me just say this.
Let me add this to the deal. I have a wife,
she has three daughters, and they're into Love Alan. So
by default, my my television is on Love Alan.
Speaker 2 (01:01:21):
Is that fair? Like? I? Okay?
Speaker 3 (01:01:23):
Quality time depends on the time that you spend, you know,
watching stuff that you might not necessarily normally watch exactly, And.
Speaker 9 (01:01:33):
LeVar, I fully support this, thank you. I also have
three daughters.
Speaker 2 (01:01:36):
And I say this, thank you.
Speaker 9 (01:01:38):
I think it. And you know, whatever whatever your kids
are into, even if it's something that doesn't make sense
to you, you got to get on in on it
that it gives you something to talk about with the kids.
Speaker 3 (01:01:48):
And then there's not a guy that can sneak up
on them and be like, oh, well, your dad isn't
interested in what you're interested in, but I am. And
then they got that little gateway passage, right.
Speaker 1 (01:01:58):
I don't want anyboddyd Let me tell you something.
Speaker 9 (01:02:00):
We are involved. We are supportive shows that Wow, dad
cares about what I care about. It's it's one of
the great powers that we have as best parents.
Speaker 2 (01:02:11):
Bam.
Speaker 1 (01:02:11):
Let me let me just say this. If a guy
comes up to one of my daughters and tells him
he's watching Love.
Speaker 2 (01:02:16):
Island, he's not a threat, not a threat.
Speaker 1 (01:02:19):
Let me just tell you so, he's not not a
threat to any of my three daughters. All right, so
just let you know right out the game he's a threat.
Speaker 9 (01:02:26):
You know what. We may have a future. This should
be like the we got like the Girl Dad podcast,
just like yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:02:32):
Because he got you got three too, right, yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:02:35):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:02:36):
Three? We all got three. So there you go. It'll
be called Three Guys with Three Daughters.
Speaker 9 (01:02:42):
We just like worship. That's the name of the podcast.
We had an on air production meeting there you go
workshop this idea for a podcast on the show today.
Speaker 3 (01:02:50):
Three Guys with Three daughters, and we want them to
be fat and sassy and spoiled. Whoa, whoa kids interesting, JP.
Speaker 4 (01:03:00):
We always appreciate it. Let's do it again soon. It's
way too long. You're the best. We'll talk again.
Speaker 9 (01:03:07):
Wonderful. I always look forward to a conversations. You guys
do a great show. All the best that as well,
and look forward to the next one.
Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
