Well, I was supposed to be fined for being passive
aggressive and now it's bled into sarcasm, cubs highlights, all.

Sorts of that. Don't mean that things can't evolve, Like, like,
what do you think we have to stay like this
is the nineteen eighties, Jonas were humans. I thought we evolve,
the fine system evolves. You and these cubs highlights. It's
gone too far for it.

But this is you know, I'm having fun. I mean,
this is so we're busting okay, but the problem is
me busting balls with the cubs highlight and then getting
docked ten dollars. I'm up to one hundred and eighty dollars.

find more which I have actually stood up for you.
You know, if var has had his way to be
like three hundred dollars, that.

Is true, believeable, that is true. It should be a
bit do it should be an end of the year

Can you know? The worst part is it started on
November twenty fourth, right after SUP So we're not even
like a half year really, Like this is less than
six months and I've tallied one hundred and eighty bucks.

Yeah. Yeah, but but the reality is your first offense
was until February twenty fourth. Yeah, so that's not that bad.
It's not like you got fined a bunch right out
of the gate. We gave you some leeway, we gave
you warnings. You think about three months before you started
getting fined.

Yeah, but I think we restarted the clock after Super Bowl,
so I think that was the why it started late.
The point is I'm on track to hit close to
four hundred dollars in fines, which is outrageous considering what
the initial fine was supposed to be.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
The marriage.

Speaker 4 (04:43):
Yeah, take a look at yourself. You have him though,
you have him to charge with why you have that
that bill?

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Now? It was a Hall of Fame weekend inductions going
on the Roger Craigs stuff. Was sad to see, uh,
just announcing that he had dementia, and still obviously, you know,
was having fun and really really excited about you know,
just the moment and the weekend and everything that went
along with it, and very deserving. Drew Brees, you know,

gave a really good speech as well too. I had
no I knew it. But then when I took a
step back, it occurred to me just how young Luke
Keighley was. Guy's thirty five, ye thirty five and already
in the Hall of Fame and and just got out
because of the you know, concussions and and just felt like,

(05:38):
you know, I can't I can't give what I thought
I could give, but thirty five years old but played
seven eight years and was out before he was thirty.
And I was in Canton as a Hall of Famer.
Larry Fitzgerald was great, and then Adam Vanity stepped up,
and Adam van Erry pretty funny dude. He decided to
turn his Hall of Fame speech into a roast, and

Well, okay, I'm getting a little tired of my guy,
Bill Belichick getting picked on just because the guy at
his age is still pulling ass and everybody's it's open
season on Belichick, and I get it. They're struggling a
little bit. And I don't know what's going on with
the Mike Lombardi fiasco that went down, you know, a
couple of weeks ago, and where things stand with all that.

But you know what, man, the guy should be celebrated
a little more and said. You got people on the
outside watching the Hindenburg go down in flames, and they're
just poking fun at him every chance they get tired of.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Be real about one of one of the things that
goes with this. If he never took the North Carolina
head coaching job, how much Mazzaria would we have on him?

Speaker 4 (08:10):
Oh much? Just just Vandy camps. You could still roll
with Vandy camps. That's about it.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
I don't even think that conversation Vandy Camp where him
and his uh his girlfriend was shooting the Vandy camps commercially.
The Fisherman, Yeah, they were dressed up the fish man,
Sandy Camps. Yeah, the fish mill, remember Vandy Camp, the
frozen fish. They were really good. It was a big
deal back in like the nineties, Belichick like that guy

in the Vandy camp box.

And then for the Halloween deal or was that for
a separate shoot?

Speaker 2 (08:44):
I think, oh wow, they did multiple.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
I know they were doing the whole like poses and
stuff on the beach too.

Right.

She was the flyer, he was the base.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
Yeah, okay, I mean you get the point, like it
would have never been this like open season on Bill
Belichick had he not taken a North Carolina job, which
is still for a guy who was I don't know
how he wins away from beating Don Shul's record and
has won that many super Bowls viewed as arguably the
greatest coach of all time. To go down and take

(09:21):
the North Carolina job is just it's bizarre.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Do you think he ever goes back and coaches in
the NFL. I think it's over and I wouldn't never
have said that before the North carol like last year especially,
but the longer this has gone on, the more I'm like, man,
it's almost as if the league forgets you quick. And
I just I don't see. He didn't get the Falcons job.

(09:46):
Obviously we know what that turned into, but I just
I look at it now and I go at what
I thought was going to be a pit stop at
North Carolina and then he goes back to the pros.
I don't think he's ever going to get an opportunity
to break that record.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
He's seventy four, Like no, and no one's hiring a
seventy four. Well he'd be seventy five that the next season,
like no one's hiring that. So it's it's over. And
it's just it's odd that it ended this way. It's
odd that he didn't want to wait for potentially another
opportunity if it was going to be there. And I
think because of how this is all gone, it took

(10:22):
away any chance of him getting another head coaching job.
I mean, it's crazy to say that or admit that,
because he again has won so many Super Bowls, but
it's just it's been a disaster. There's no other way
describing it.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
I think there will be opportunities for him at the
next level when this this finishes up. He's got a
wealth of knowledge. I mean, he's he's him and and
Saban are the same, except one is a college one
and one is a pro one. But they're kind of
the same. Like their respect level is is really high.

(11:02):
And you know, it's funny, we're listening to the speech,
but he owes a lot to that man for being
able to deliver that speech. So Bill Belichick is responsible
for quite a few guys that are we're able to
stand up there and give a speech. So, I mean,
his resume is impeccable. I do not think that this

(11:25):
overshadows what he has has accomplished. In fact, I think
the reason why it has become such a thing, in
my estimation, is because he's been viewed so impenetrable and
not very vulnerable. This is the most vulnerable we've ever
seen Bill Belichick. And I think some people lean into it,

(11:46):
you know, and some people feel like they could have
a little bit more fun with it, including him. So
and there's always this year keep that in mind. I mean,
you look at their schedule, it's not I don't think
think it's a daunting task. You got Miami on your
you know, on your schedule. But other than that, I mean,

(12:08):
I guess some of the teams are going to you know,
you could say are going to be okay and see
State Virginia. What are you going to see from Louisville? Syracuse?
Could be good. Duke is a pretty good team, you know.
I know that a.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
Lvar they're over under win totals, like four and a
half wins this year.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
I don't know that they can't win year two for Belichick.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
I know they lost Lombardy, but that isn't necessarily feel related,
right I don't.

I don't.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
There's no reason why they can't have a good year.
If he would have why like that? Well, why are
you guys? Have you watched it?

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Just I haven't.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
I have not seen it. I saw it last year.
Are you meaning last year? I saw last year? I
haven't seen them this year. It could be different.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
If he would have stayed so when he was he
took the year and was doing stuff in the media.
I actually thought he was really good. Like he I
think he was on inside the NFL. He did a
bunch of different you know, he did a podcast. I
would have I would have said at that time, all right,
I would buy into him doing media for a year,
two years, whatever it is, and then having an opportunity

to come back more than going to coach somewhere and
then trying to come back, which is a crazy thought,
but it just illustrates how bad it's gone just off
the field on the field, Like we talked about it
not long ago when we discussed Lombardi getting you know,
being sent home for whatever's going on there. Dude, Yet

everybody excited. It was Labor Day night. They show up
to Chapel Hill. Michael Jordan, who's not leaving anywhere outside
of a you know, his house for anything other than NASCAR,
shows up. He got every there getting ready, really really
fired up about it, and they were gone at half.

Hey, they was doing shot. They were doing shots like
they were at a big time bobbing the event, and
they got pay per view.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
By the way, that that game was versus TCU, who
will now face in Dublin to start off the season
Week zero, probably a loss. Then they have to play
East Tennessee State University. That might be the only win
for weeks they go to Clemson, they're hosting Notre Dame.
They get a buy before, but still like this isn't

(14:38):
This isn't the NFL, Like you have to understand, like
the talent gap is so wide now and it's because
of n I L and the transfer port it's made
even worse. So if you're a team that's have not
there's a significant gap when you go see these teams
these games and it's like at Pitt at Duke, I
don't think they're winning either of those games. They gotta

(15:00):
play get the host of Miami, all right, like Syracuse
October twenty fourth winnable game at Yukon winnable game, but
again on the road, they're probably gonna lose the Louisvoiey
hosts him later in the season. I mean, UVA is
not an easy place for them to play, and CJ.
Bailey is a stud at North Carolina State, so they're
not winning that one. Like this team legitimately four and

a half is there overrun? Like that's about right. There's
about five games I think they could win on their schedule,
and two of which I kind of look at is
maybe a toss up.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
Dang I have a little bit more hope and in
Bill Belichick. I just thought, I think the magic is
going to happen this year and he's going to win.
Like there, it is a game standout stand on ten
he did catch about budget last. I'm gonna step on
out there. I'm gonna really take a chance on this
that you said four. I'm gonna say, like, I'm a

boldly stand on. They might get five. But I'm not
saying that it is im pop that they can't win more.
But I'm a stand if you if you just.

Broke down his tenure at North Carolina, just all the
stuff off the field and on the field, you would
you would have no idea that's the greatest coach in
the history. It's very true. Now, that is very true.
I have no clue, like, hey, that guy really is
that he does know what he's doing. I swear to God.

See the other coaches on the sideline like.

Yeah your face, yeah Bill Belichick, like half have in
my other coaches we whooping Bill Belichick's it's to.

Day, my God for Throcades stringers. I said they could

I had two different dynasties, like he should be in
the Hall of fame twice, the first half of the
of the two decade run and then the second half
like the unbelievable career as a head coach, and it's
this get stomped out about college coach? How does that work?
Michael Jordan's like, man, f this, I'm out of here.

We're going to the track. We're going at that time.
The shot they did cut away, I cut five months
till Daytona. What's this shot?

Oh, Michael Dort was supposed to be sitting there, Lawrence
Taylor was there in the first quarter, were supposed to
be standing there like sorry, I'm not here anymore.

And then they open up the season this year and
they're in Ireland. It's like the baby, Yeah we were.

I saw that. We know what they're going to have
to encounter.

It's just h yeah, it just feels it just feels
uh not really really a sad ending.

Think about it. It's been what eight years since he
last won a Super Bowl? I mean yeah, it felt
like when he got out of it, it was so crazy.
I remember lamenting about this because I still still don't
understand it how the Falcons got away with not hiring him.
But now you look at it and you kind of
say to yourself, yeah, maybe they didn't dodge a bullet.

If this was the version you're going to get where,
you know, he brings Michael Lombardi, who everyone seems to
be taking shots at. I mean, it's crazy Pete. Pete
said this when we brought him on, and it is
nuts to think about how I mean, even vine Terry,
Like there's people everyone's taking shots at this guy, and

so you bring him in. That's a disaster. He was
in charge of their roster. Their roster has been a
absolute disaster, probably their biggest gap as far as why
they aren't winning, and then you look at the off
the field stuff and how that's all gone with the
girlfriend's situation. I just it's wild to think. I mean,
when if you really go back, you probably start really

remembering sports. Maybe you're five, six, seven years old. That's
a big enough gap. But there's a bunch of kids
in like junior high who are like, yeah, Bill Belichick stinks, right,
And you're like, what talking about it? You don't remember
that like two decades it's good. They're like, yeah, bro,
that was like a decade ago. He's not wrong, Like

they've never they've seen him have one winning season including
College of Proe the last but six years.

I mean, by the way, uh, Bruce Feldman like he
does not seem to be a fan of Michael Lombardi.
Like h he went pretty strong called him the worst
GM in all of college sports.

He uh eviscerated.

He said a podcast he said he should be getting
his paycheck with a ski mask on.

That is not even rephrasing it exactly how he said it.
And to Bruce's point, it is wild. When you talk
at like anyone who's been around they just maybe he's
one of those guys who rubs people the wrong way.
I've never had an issue with Michael Lombardi. That was
not my impression. But there are so many people dancing

and singing and celebrating whatever adversity or transgressions he's going
through right now, and it's wild. I mean again, I'm
trying to think of other people who well, maybe in
the WNBA, maybe there's a few like a house of
Kaitlin Clark. There's a lot of people get excited about that.
But outside of that, which I still don't understand either,
but it's crazy.

I'm gonna tell Bill and Mike, what I'll do for
them with the situation that they have unfolding.

the accident, the car accident that he was involved in
in July that I think we just heard about about
an hour ago. But Kyle Shanahan is back and he's
getting ready for the season. And he did speak to
the media about the accident and what went wrong that

(24:49):
fateful evening over the weekend.

Speaker 9 (24:52):
I mean, anytime you cause an accident that could be avoided,
you'd feel pretty stupid. I mean, especially when you have
a chance to hurt someone else. And so I and
I think you get mad when you get a ticket
at yourself. So so that was kind of the same.
You know, things that I think everyone's done to a
degree what I've done, you know, dropping a phone and
falling all the way to my back seat where I
have to fully take my eyes off the road. You know,

(25:13):
it's something that I normally want to do. I've had
an autopilot for nine years, so I'm pretty comfortable with it.
And who knows what happened when I turned around, whether
it malfunctioned or whether I knocked it off. That's something
and I don't know yet. But regardless that's it is
always your fault. And whether you're an autopilot or not,
you can't take your eyes off the road. It's a
partnership driving. You don't just turn it over to a computer.
And it's a good lesson. No matter how comfortable I

(25:36):
am with that that I believe someday could save my
life for someone else's or it's really helped me have
perspective on that stuff.

because this came up in a conversation with some buddies
about we're gonna get to a point where I guess
it's easy to sit there and say, well, the blame's

going to go on the driver, because whether it was
an autopilot or not, it's his vehicle. It's his car,
he's in control of it ultimately. But there are some
people that I know out there who take liberties with
probably drinking too much and or other things for that matter,
and then putting their car on autopilot because it is
so advanced now and letting it drive them home. I mean,

if we're getting to a point we're gonna have driverless cars,
whether that's you know, via robotaxis or Tesla's or whatever
other vehicle that's got the capabilities of doing this, it
does beg the question like what's that going to look like?
Like imagine an officer pulls you over and you've been
on autopilot, so like like, who does what does the

blame go there? I mean, is it gonna be on
the vehicle? If it malfunction, are you you're then gonna

no satations were issued, the fact that Kyle Shanahan gets

I don't know that. I believe the narrative that Kyle
Shanahan is going with. He's going with I turned around
to reach to get my phone out of the backseat,
and Autopilotte let me down. That's what he's going with.
That's what it sounds like. You're trying to control the narrative,
and you you much rather just take the blame for

I was at fault. I did something wrong. I reached
behind to grab my phone. My car was an auto palette.
This is why the accident happened. I'm ready to coach
moving on. But it took y'all eleven days to report it,
and now Kyle Shanahan is basically the only one that's
reporting what perceivably or the only account of what happened.

I just think that there's something that still doesn't fit.
For one, but for two, it made me ask the question,
and I'm kind of with why did they not?

it was handled, that says to me, something isn't right.

So I'm not more focused in on if a car malfunction,
I'm more focused in on why did they feel the
need to have this, this course of action, this this
timeline of events of how they handled it. It just
doesn't add up. And I just don't think that would
have happened for a player. And I also think that

the media would have been held accountable if.

They reported what they were going to report. Look, I've
proud of it, I've cheated. I've probably been cheated on.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out this
thing smelled fishy from the get go, like it just

like you know BS, and you know when you're telling BS,
and you know when someone's telling you BS. You just
kind of are able to read the situation. The story
from the get go didn't add up, like nothing about
it added up. And then his explanation, it was almost

handling of it, the explanation, none of it makes any sense.

other person involves. Okay, I frankly don't care about whose

everyone's fine. Like why is this such a big story

I honestly think it's such to a degree, it's such

for like, oh, there has to be more to this,
Like what more and it? And like what are we

looking for to get more out of it? Like there's
some scandal. Is that where we're assuming there is? Is

obviously sustained injuries. That was tragic. The other person seems

All of that would have been fine. And then they
started adding layers of garbage on top of all that.

it reported on what really went on? Like you know,

on the research we've been able to find. Since around
twenty thirteen, they have been one of the most injured
teams in the NFL. Not the most, which I'd have
to go back and look at when they moved into
Levi Stadium, but I believe it was in somewhere around that.

Maybe it was before, but somewhere in that ballpark. And
so now since we've got almost what there was that
thirteen years of data, it's pretty crazy to think how
it's impacted their players. And you wonder if there's not,
you know, a greater class action lawsuit against them for this.
I mean, look like I played for a number of

teams back when the team, back when the Rams were
in Saint Louis. Did we were down wind from like
a dump or some sort of processing facility where when
there was a certain direction of the wind, I mean
you could smell it and like there was no doubt
people were probably breathing in different toxins and crap that
was being burnt off or however it was being processed.

It should have never been there. I mean I was
only there for like half a season, but like, imagine
if you had been played there for years and you're
ingesting that every single day you were outside.

You remember that story about the Phillies players at the
at the Old Vet, so an old veteran stadium where
the Phillies and Eagles played. There was there's a ton
of former Phillies that have that have died or dealt
with cancer. And they did a test on some of
the astro turf from the VET and there were toxins

that they thought that that had to do with some
of the cancer that the Phillies players got and none
of the Eagles players got is because during the summertime
when they're playing their games there, the sun's just beating

years and they did tests afterwards and realize, yeah, this
is like this is poisonous. These guys were getting poisoned

hitting him. During team drills, they had to be separated.

Max Crosby hit him? Max Crosby hit him a couple
of times when you're not supposed to. He brought the drum.

by his jersey? Max Crosby said, an issue with this,

level for the practice, like if it was monotony, if
it was like you could tell that guys were getting

hit his arm the first time, that should have been beef.
What is what is offensive line? But if you missed
it and you gave some like kind of like okay,

Cousins ran up on him or whatever and grabbed him
by his jersey. Why did we not see reports of

that's what's supposed to happen. Your offensive line is supposed

kind of able to make money and be isolated and

a college student, like back when we went I mean

any money. You know, you're scrounged together change sometimes to
go grab something or you know, you're you're all in
it together. You're in a dorm or whatever you're saying
to some crappy apartment, like what like that was how
it used to be and those are like galvanizing times
with your teammates where you're kind of working through that
aspect of life. And it probably is better to build

more of a realistic idea of what life is like
for a lot of other colored students. And that's the
hard part now is we've gotten so far with these
student athletes in college from the normal student and what
they're doing, I mean, are two worlds away. Like one's
going to school to become, you know something or figure

out the profession they want to get into. These other
guys now are professionals and they're being paid handsomely, and
so there's never been a greater dichotomy between the student
student athlete now And so in saying that, like there's
elements of how some of these guys are were. Maybe
they're just not as close with they're livemen anymore. Maybe
they're not taking them out for beers or whatever or

all you can eat a Tian fit on Thursday's. Like
I don't know, Like I'm not sure what the dynamic
is on some of these teams now because a lot
of these guys like maybe they hang together as a
group of wide receivers or dbs or linemen, but like
usually you're quarterback or usually there was like a linebacker
or someone that was like, oh, let's all get together.
