there's no Brady Quinn, we do a little show called
Black and Drack. For those wondering, I look like Dracula
and LaVar I look like a black man. Yeah, and
it's radio, so your imagination run wild.

Speaker 6 (01:19):
I don't know if that's an opinion or a fact.
And it rhymes with the word black.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
So when we started the show, the legal tampering period
started in the NFL quote legal tampering period where basically
everybody's been fooling around on their better halves and trying
to pretend like there was no conversations going on.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
And so coming back.

Speaker 5 (01:44):
There, there's been moves that have been made.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
There's another one to report here, and we've been getting
it all today from the tongue in Tuey himself, who's
got the latest on the transaction wire and the breaking
news from around the NFL.

Speaker 7 (02:04):
Breaking news from Fox Sports. So this is an underrated one, guys.
Tight end Isaiah likely from the Ravens heading to the
Giants on a three year deal. I like him a lot.
I like him a lot. I think this is a bit.
I think this is a really good signing for New.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
York, which is code for he helped me win a
couple of games in fantasy one year and you've never
forgotten it.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
That's that's what that means.

Speaker 8 (02:24):
I know.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
He's Yeah, and so the Giants are gonna add a piece,
and it felt like Baltimore was gonna probably move on
from him because I didn't they give Mark Andrews a
new deal last year? Yeah, I think yeah, and then
they just took on Max Crosby and yeah, so like yeah,
they got to cut costs here.

Speaker 5 (02:38):
Yeah, so that's one.

Speaker 6 (02:40):
It's interesting because you know, Isaiah Likely is not you know,
he's not super old.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Twenty five years old, he'd be a sophomore in college
now twenty five. That's a really good pool. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (02:54):
Yeah, but you know what they have Theo Johnson already
there in New York, who is a young budding superstar
in my opinion at the position, not because he's a
penn stator, but because I actually think he's really that
good that that it creates necessary depth at the position.

(03:16):
Uh and could add a different a different weapon in
terms of what you know, what you're able to do
with the different packages. You know, you may run twelve
personnel more often than what you you would have without
having a talent like Likely being on your team, and
could also provide more blocking, possible blocking, better blocking. In

(03:40):
terms of a double threat, you got two tight ends
that you can put out there that are dual threat
tight ends. They can block and they can catch the ball,
run routes.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
And also familiarity with John Harbaugh. There there you go,
that would make good, that would make some sense. And
clearly he's you know, he liked him in Baltimore because
I think and he kind of Isaiah likely was one
of those guys that flash in the preseason I think
to where there was like he looked really good and
really talented, like he was going to be the next
big thing, and you know, there just wasn't a lot

(04:10):
of opportunities in Baltimore. So now he gets a deal
and he goes to the Giants. So yeah, that's been
one of a fluri of moves today. Already we saw
last hour. We've told you Kenneth Walker is headed to
the Chiefs. Big big free agent deal.

Speaker 7 (04:24):
They're actually biggest free agent deal for running back ever,
Alec Pierce setting back to Indianapolis four years, eighty four
million guaranteed. And off of that, Michael Pittman traded to
the Steelers. Of our Steelers.

Speaker 6 (04:35):
To me, I feel like that's the outside of Max Crosby,
that's the biggest one. Obviously, McDuffie going going out of
Kansas City and making a move is a pretty tremendous
move as well. But I gotta say the potential of
what you could have with a healthy group of tight ends,

(04:58):
as we just mentioned with the Giants. You know, if
you get big, big guy coming back off of his
what what was it? A broken ankle or broken arm?
What was the big tight end from the Steelers?

Speaker 5 (05:10):
All U?

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Parnell Washington, Washing? Sorry Washington, but what did he break?
He broke something, right, he broke somebody. Well he went
out injured too though.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
That's a big dude.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Yeah, I think it was a broken but darn Washington,
Darnell Washington.

Speaker 5 (05:27):
What I say?

Speaker 4 (05:30):
You say Darn said Parnell and not Dave or something.

Speaker 5 (05:36):
I mean.

Speaker 6 (05:39):
We got from a Friday, you know, the one that
saw saw Smokey in the back backyard taking a like
what I did this morning anyway, and you got friar mouth.
If he's coming back, you got a nice tight ends
tight ends room. But the receiving corps was lacking. They
needed one more guy that could open up things for

(06:00):
the running game and open up things for DK metcalf.
I think this has the potential of being the biggest
move so far. It is outside again, Max Crosby, I
think Pittman Jr. He's he's still a very young, young receiver,
nice talent. I would have never thought that the Colts
would just let him go, but I guess they made

(06:24):
an either or situation there and and for Pittsburgh. Like
you said, Towey, Uh, I think it's definitely is a
move in the direction of saying, you know, look at this, Aaron,
you have two nice targets that you could throw to
at the receiver's position. Maybe you give it one more go,
let's see if we could do.

Speaker 7 (06:44):
It with and the Mike McCarthy. The stars seemed to
be a ligning for Aaron return to Pittsburgh.

Speaker 4 (06:51):
The Jets have made some moves, right. I think Joseph
Asai was one of the moves they made.

Speaker 5 (06:56):
They just came in.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
There's been a couple of Jets moves that have been
made like they've been actually somewhat active here, which would
beg the question for me.

Speaker 9 (07:06):
Why because they trying to get better? Okay, hat on
the Jets trying to improve. If you want to get better,
go move to the CFL. Okay, what are we talking
about it?

Speaker 6 (07:18):
Like if you're a bad person, like somebody starts saying like, like,
for instance, myself, I'll try to create some better habits
in my life, do things better, And all you do
is is criticize me and give me a hard time
for trying.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
To be better.

Speaker 6 (07:33):
Like, if you're a bad person, it doesn't mean you
have to stay being a bad person, Jonas, Like, I
don't understand, Like you can't be committed to one thing
all all that you're guaranteed it's changed.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
I got news for you, Jeffrey Dahmer. Don't come up
to me and tell me you put the cart back
in the front of the store and you didn't leave
it in the parking lot. The damage has been done,
pal Okay, Like, I don't want to hear so you
can never be redeemed.

Speaker 5 (07:56):
You can never redeem yourself.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
I don't want to hear that you picked up a
cup that somebody left next to the trash can and
you put it in there so nobody else had to
clean it. All right, the damage is done. You're the Jets.
You're awful. Okay, we've seen it, we understand it. We
know what's happened. Next year, is gonna look just like
this year looked.

Speaker 5 (08:15):
What do we come on?

Speaker 8 (08:16):
Man?

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Hey, hey, that's an opinion.

Speaker 5 (08:19):
Jonas knock.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
I'm a changed man.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
I cle my dog took a crap out in front
of the neighbor's house, but I cleaned it up. Okay,
you've got three bodies in the basement. Okay, well explain
those and then tell me that all the good dj start.

Speaker 6 (08:31):
We gotta start somewhere. God, they gotta start somewhere. Nobody starts,
Nobody starts at Z. You know, sometimes you gotta start
at the beginning of the alphabet.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
Bro, Like, like, let's work our way to the end.

Speaker 6 (08:47):
Yeah, I mean, imagine if we put that type of
evil on the Chicago Bears, what they could never be
any good because they haven't been good for so long?

Speaker 4 (08:58):
The who the Chicago Bears at the Hammond Bears. By
the way, get to get a correct Indiana bearris.

Speaker 7 (09:05):
Another big move guy's last hour. LaVar and I had
some fun with this one. Malik Willis first quarterback off
the board heading to Miami, three year deal guaranteed.

Speaker 5 (09:15):
LeVar thinks he's a thinks I think there could be.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Mario Davis just signed with the Jets too.

Speaker 5 (09:21):
How about it?

Speaker 3 (09:22):
Why what are we doing?

Speaker 6 (09:26):
Because it's a great market if you're a part of
the day. Look at what happened in Foxborough this year.
You had all those free agents go to to be
with Mike Rabel in New England. They signed and they
made it all the way to the super Bowl. These
guys are looking at the opportunity Aaron Glenn for for
whatever reason or another that you want to disparage him.

(09:51):
Aaron Glenn is a fine coach and even more of
a fine human being, and people won't want to play
for Aaron.

Speaker 5 (10:00):
He should get out too. I'm telling you.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
He made a movie about it. Maybe they should change
it to the Jets edition. So like the chapter to
get Out Jets Facility.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
It's almost like everybody like you kind of know what
teams are doing, Like, hey, listen, we're okay if we're
bad this year, you know, because we'll get the number
one Picknick. And it's like the Jets can't quite figure
it out anything.

Speaker 7 (10:23):
Isn't this kind of a move though, to bring like
an older veteran just to kind of keep them afloat,
And you don't, you know, you talked about building like
looking for that quarterback next year. I mean, this is
what the Texans did with Lovey Smith. They brought in
a bunch of veterans knowing they were going to suck,
and then they they were sort of building up for
that next like that next regime, right with the Miko and.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
To get them, Yeah, they got they against.

Speaker 5 (10:45):
The cult Smith.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
Well that was gonna happen in Davis Mills and his
building neck came out there and and won a game
that they didn't need to win it. But they would
have taken Bryce Young and they got t J. Stroud
and they got Will Anderson, so worked out right. But
but I think that's what the Jets are doing. They're
looking clearly looking at twenty twenty seven and that dropt
class and they're just gonna kind of stay afloat this year.
They're gonna be They don't want to they don't want

(11:10):
to stink so bad. They want to be relevant enough.
So if you but they'll be so.

Speaker 6 (11:14):
Bad, you're you're risking not being back as a coach.
Guys do not get more than one season too much
anymore to make a difference, a significant difference on the team.
That has become the new norm and That's what's generally
discussed is that these these coaches are not getting three

(11:34):
to four years to build a team, build an environment,
a culture, build things up new. You are in a
win now league in an era of time where you
have to do it. So to me, I don't I
think they're being aggressive because they're trying to win this year.
Y'all could think that this is something that's that's pushed
far out from now. If you want to, you're bringing

(11:56):
in Minka Fitzpatrick, You're you bring in uh the running
move yes, and gave up the seventh DFT draft Chevy
Brown drafting for listen.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
Because they're trying to win. They're trying to win.

Speaker 6 (12:11):
If I'm looking at my division, if I'm looking at
my division, the Buffalo Bills could be vulnerable. This could
be a vulnerable team. And if I got to set
my sights on the Patriots to win against the Patriots,
I ain't even worrying about the Dolphins. If I gotta
worry about the Patriots, and and potentially like, okay, we

(12:35):
got to slay the dragon with with the Bills and
improve definitively one way at another another that maybe the
Bills have hit their ceiling. I'm trying to add good
players to my team and my roster this year so
I can be competitive this year, not not trying to
bridge gap or anything until we get to twenty seven

(12:56):
or twenty eight. I'm trying to win right now. That's
what you're seeing.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
Take pack, and if you're a Jets fan you're listening
to this, you gotta find something else to do, man Like,
there's got to be something else to do, like go
apple picking in the fall, Like you go spend your
time at an orchard that doesn't have Wi Fi, and
just forget about whatever you were born in cold just
telling you, man.

Speaker 6 (13:15):
Like, why do we get Why are you so doom
and gloom on them? Why you had the Jets so much?

Speaker 4 (13:18):
I just I don't understand what all of these moves
that they're making. If this was if the approach was, hey,
we know this is a rebuild, we're gonna you know,
it's a long term plan.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
We get it.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
But it's all these half measures, Like it's never just
a tear down to the studs. Let's let's focus on
the future. We've got a plan. It's all these half
measures and then all the stuff that happened with Robert Salah, Like,
there's been decades of evidence they it doesn't work. And
it's not an Aaron Glenn. This is nothing against Aaron Glenn.

(13:51):
I just don't know that anything's gonna work there.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
Even look, even when.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
You did have success, you had a quarterback that wore
pantiose and an another coach that had a foot fetish. Okay,
even when you did have success. So I just look
at it and I go, this is a Jets problem.
And if you're a Jets fan, you were probably looking
at it going into this year. Hey, we understand that
there's a really good quarterback draft class that's happening. We

(14:16):
don't have the number one pick this year, so let's
just understand that we're gonna have to take our licks
and go forward. And I guarantee you Jets fans are
looking at this, all these moves that they're making, going
why why are we doing this when it's just gonna
probably cost us a better draft pick. Next year, we're
gonna be in the same situation. It's probably gonna cost

(14:37):
Aaron Glenn's job anyways, and we're going to be looking
at a quarterback and we won't end up with the
best quarterback. And even if we do, who knows we'll
be able to figure that out because we had Sam
Darnold that didn't work and he just won a Super
I just it's just an underwhelming organization all the way through.
And I don't know how anybody would have any optimism

(14:58):
that things are going to change. I mean, good for
those these guys getting paid, and it is a good market,
but I don't know.

Speaker 8 (15:03):
Man.

Speaker 7 (15:03):
Well, I mean, let's assume let's just say Justin Field's
plays seventeen games this year, Yeah, how many games are
they gonna win?

Speaker 5 (15:11):
Well? Also, do we even know if he's quarterback? Yeah,
that's what I'm saying. If he if they do bring
him back, how many games are they gonna win?

Speaker 6 (15:19):
And and I've heard I think you're looking for a
long term solution at the quarterbacks position. Justin Fields and
my estimation, will not be the starting quarterback for this team.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
One of the rumors I heard is that Geno Smith
might be an option to quarterback for the Jets to
go back. I mean, if I was Gino Smith, I
try out for the Winnipeg Jets. I'm not playing in
New York again. Why would I want to go back?

Speaker 8 (15:39):
To that.

Speaker 5 (15:39):
I mean, he's under contract for this year, but yeah,
I don't I don't know.

Speaker 4 (15:44):
And Breece Hall will be gone too, right, but he
got tagged, Oh they tagged Yeah, Okay, Tagg you're it.
He's looking around going damn it. They will find they
I don't know who they find. It would have been
interesting if they were able to get him. Eligue Willis
the potential. I mean, I think it's a horrible situation
for me. It would have been interesting, yeah, but I think.

Speaker 6 (16:04):
It would have been a horrible situation for Malik Willis
because he would have been putting a situation where the
expectation would have been far too high for what they
would have potentially been able to accomplish. That's why I
think the Miami move is perfect for Miligue Willis. It's
a perfect move, all right. Well, Halfley Nilson from Green,
who do you bring into a New York Jets situation

(16:27):
to be the quarterback in that scenario after everything that
has transpired. I think that's a very very difficult position
to be in if you're in New York Jets. And
I think it's a very difficult position to be in
if you're the player that gets brought in to do it.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
So you did the NFL draft coverage on Fox Sports
Radio with Joe Douglas, which seems like a good due
one of the reports when he got let go from
the Jets. One of the reports that came out was
that upon finding out he was out with the New
York Jets. And by the way, Joe Douglas did a
very good job drafting, like he drafted some really good plays.

(17:00):
But upon finding out that he was let go by
the Jets, that he went, you know, to some seaside
dock and he was drinking a beer and he was
fishing off the edge of the dock.

Speaker 5 (17:10):
You know what that sounded like. He's relief peace.

Speaker 4 (17:13):
That was like Morgan Freeman finding the box at the
wall out of Shawshank, I can get the hell out
of here, like Joe Douglas is looking for Dufrain polishing
a boat.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
Like where are you?

Speaker 5 (17:23):
I'm gonna get the hell out of here.

Speaker 6 (17:25):
It has not been the easiest environment to build in.
And I'm just curious again you bring in a high
energy guy, former player. He relates to the guys, I know,
people like to make jokes when he does his sideline
antics and his celebrations and it ends up losing the game.
But let me tell you something, Aaron Glenn is a

(17:47):
player's coach. People believe and subscribe to what Aaron Glenn
brings to the table, and let's see it through. I mean,
that's what this is all about, seeing things through. People
would have said the same thing about the Detroit Lions
when Dan Campbell, when those guys went and took over
the Detroit Lions, they couldn't figure it out. And they

(18:08):
had the best receiver and the best quarterback in one
of them and in the game, and they couldn't figure
out how to get to that next level with uh,
with Matthew Stafford and Megatron couldn't do it. You bring
in this guy, and then then when they dropped lower
than that, you bring in Dan Campbell. And Dan Campbell
was the same type of coach that Aaron Glenn is.

(18:30):
That's why Dan Campbell brought Aaron Glenn in with him
as his decordinator is because they have they had very
very similar ideologies and how they approach being coaches.

Speaker 3 (18:41):
So to me, you got to give it a chance.

Speaker 6 (18:44):
There has to be a chance that's given to Aaron
Glenn and I'm not saying that to you as media.
I'm saying to Woody Johnson and the people that make
decisions in the building. You got to give these people
a fear opportunity to build up what they need to
build in order to have opportun to win.

Zad who is going to be joining us here coming

Speaker 6 (21:35):
That's exciting. Love TJ. Get some opinions from him. He
was on site at the Combine this year as well,
does a lot of development and training with the incoming
receivers quite a bit out here in California, so it'd
be nice to get some words from him.

Speaker 5 (21:53):
Hear what he has to say about some of these topics.

Speaker 4 (21:56):
That position is taken over man receivers. If you were
if you were like if you're a dad and your
kid really wanted to play running back, wouldn't you just
be like, hey, buddy, learn how to catch, Learn.

Speaker 5 (22:06):
How to catch?

Speaker 6 (22:06):
If you're playing for running back, absolutely, yeah, other positions, like,
you know, I think my guy's at the right position.
Defensive end, edge rushers, edges are are are in pretty
pretty big demand right now as well.

Speaker 4 (22:18):
So yeah, and now welcome in the Pro bowler himself,
TJ houshman Zada. You hear him Saturdays with LeVar Arrington
and Plexico Burris on up on Game Here on Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
TJ.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
How you doing, man, man, I'm good.

Speaker 8 (22:32):
How y'all doing good?

Speaker 6 (22:34):
Good, Good to hear your voice. Good to talk to
you during the day. You know, how's the weather, how's
it going? Sounds very sounds like it's good.

Speaker 8 (22:44):
I'm pulling up to the training. A couple of clouds
in the sky, but it's about seventy five degrees man,
and gets no better.

Speaker 5 (22:51):
Seventy five does look like a good day, TJ.

Speaker 4 (22:53):
We were talking about this before you came on, that
the receiver position has completely taken over. Now we're back
in the day next to quarterback. Running back was really
the guy and that was. You know, so many teams
based their offenses around the running back, and now you're
seeing receivers. Michael Pittman Junior just got traded at Pittsburgh,
but they gave him a new deal upon his arrival.
Alec Pierce just got you know, one hundred and fourteen

(23:15):
million or whatever it is. Where do you think the
switch started to happen where the receiver position became one
of the most important positions and highly paid positions on
the field.

Speaker 8 (23:27):
It's when the emphasis went to the quarterback. Really, receivers
and quarterback, you know, we hand in hand. We like
feeding socks, you know, nes and feed however you want to.
They go hand in hand. Where if you have a
good quarterback and you don't have a good receiver, your
quarterback is going to have hard times to really reach
ultimate success. You look at Josh Sally before he had

(23:51):
Stefan Diggs, it was like, ah, he's very talented. He
got Stepan Diggs, It's like, why he's MVP Kennedy, Although
he won MVP without Diggs. Diggs elevant this game. Since
Diggs is left, everybody's saying, Josh s Allen needs what
a flight receiver and so it just goes hand in hand.
The quarterback needs a receiver, but the receiver also needs

(24:12):
a quarterback. I'm happy for all these dudes. Man, the
amount of money that they're making is life changing, his
generational type of money. And just hope everybody can stay
healthy and manage their money the correct way.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
TJ.

Speaker 6 (24:25):
We saw that Malique Willis just got picked up by
the Miami Dolphins and Tua was released for as large
a dig cap hit as he represented, they released him
seemingly to have made way to bring in Malik Willis.
I'm not so certain that that's what it's going to
be him being the starter, But give me some perspective

(24:48):
on that. Do you like the move like and what's
next for Tua? You know, in your estimation there's.

Speaker 8 (24:55):
Always going to be a spot for Tua when you're
as accurate as he is. The I mean, the big
worry with two is when he gets hit, is he
getting up? How is he going to react? And that's
all I think that's just gonna always be in the
back of everyone's mind because of the incidents that he's
been through and they're alarming. But if he wants to
continue to play, let him play, but that accuracy, that

(25:18):
throwing with anticipation and time, man is always gonna be
a place for that. Again, it's just gonna be a
health for eligue Willis. I actually thought he would end
up with the Carolina with the Arizona Cardinals because of
the connection of the Laflors. I just felt like, Oh,
I'm gonna let my little brother know. You gotta get him,
do everything in your power to get him. The fact

(25:39):
that he didn't end up with the Arizona Cardinals kind
of concerns me. But happily was his defensive coordinator in
Gen Bay. He saw him every damn practice, understands his
work ethic and what he is and what he isn't
and so this will be an interesting pairing. I'm assuming
throw the ball twenty to twenty five times a game.

(26:00):
They gonna be run heavy. Defensive Coach, you got a
quarterback that hasn't had a lot of starts, hasn't had
a lot of pass attempts. You gotta be smart with him.

Speaker 5 (26:10):
TJ.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
Husman Jada joining us here on Fox Sports Radio, LeVar
Arrington Jonas Knox in for calling here on the Herd.
Let me ask you about keeping it with the wide receivers.
I know, obviously you were at the combine. Who's the
best wide receiver coming out? And why is does he
stand above the rest in this draft class?

Speaker 2 (26:30):
Wow?

Speaker 8 (26:30):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (26:30):
Wow?

Speaker 8 (26:31):
You know? So you know I be LeVar knows this.
Like I'm biased when you when you ask me these questions,
but I'm gonna be slightly biased and unbiased at the
same time. I'm gonna give you a sleeper. And people
are talking about him because of what he did at
the combine, and he looked really good. He ran fashion
and many thought as Jakobe Lane. And I'm biased because

(26:51):
I've been training him, so I know he knows what
to do, what not to do. At least he will
know what to do, what not to do, when and
do it, how to do it, why to do it
type of thing. The Carnel tape is the best receiver
when you look at his production, you look at his
route running, you look at his body control. Yeah, he
ran into four five, but that's fast enough with as

(27:13):
long as you can separate. People always talk about how
fast you can go, but the key is how fast
can you stop. How many people talk about that because
they don't know the game I'm giving free game up
now people are gonna start talking about it's the art
of deceleration, not the art of acceleration. And the sooner
these people understand that, they'll understand why receiver is good

(27:34):
and why one isn't. But I like Carnell Tape. But
Jakobe Lane at six', five just over two hundred, pounds
with his route running ability is, Quickness he's gonna be
a pleasant surprise for.

Speaker 5 (27:46):
MANY Uh Kansas.

Speaker 6 (27:49):
City we had the conversation on On, saturday AND i
asked the, question do you feel as though the window
could be closing on This Kansas City chief? Team And
i'm just curious for this audience to be able to
hear your your opinion on on that that. Matter in,
particular they you know they they just brought In Kenneth

(28:11):
walker as a new running. BACK i think it improves
their their run. Game BUT i don't know how high
the expectations should be with the uncertainty around the health
Of Patrick mahomes or even where this This Kansas city
defense currently.

Speaker 8 (28:28):
STANDS i say this with respect because of what The
chiefs have, accomplished what and Who Andy reid is as
a coach and a play, color door, shut window, Closed.
Wow because One mahomes is coming off a major. Injury
we don't know how he's going to react to. That
we don't even know When mahomes is coming. Back they're
losing really good players on the defensive side of the,

(28:50):
ball young defensive, players not only, young And trent mcduffy
And Jayan watson just signed with The. Rams they don't
have that receiver that we just spoke up. Earlier who's
going to change the, Game who's gonna demand respect when
your game planning to stop The? Chiefs and SO i

(29:10):
just look at it like it's really an uphill. Battle
but when you have Many reid And Patrick, mahomes the
statement THAT i said from the get, go doors, closed windows,
shut that can always change because of those two, GUYS
i just feel like it's gonna be extremely. Hard while
The chiefs are struggling with health and good players and

(29:32):
retaining good, players these other teams are getting, better they're.
Maturing that division is gonna be, tough and SO i
just feel like it's an uphill battle for the. Kandacity The.
Chiefs they had their. Run can they do it? Again?
Yeah you can never count Out Pat mahomes And Andy.
Reid but these other, teams you got to get them
credit for what they're doing and what they're gonna. DO

(29:53):
i believe It's curtains for The. CHIEFS. T.

Speaker 4 (29:56):
J husmanzada joining us here On Fox Sports, Radio LeVar
Arrington jonas in For collin here on The. Herd let
me ask you from a receiver, standpoint if you're in
the shoes Of Justin, jefferson you've seen what's gone on In.
Minnesota THE jj McCarthy Or LeVar calls him, NINE i
call HIM j McCarthy from that experience and that experiment,

(30:16):
there and then you've seen what happened With Sam darnold
when he. Left Kirk cousins is out. There there's been
Some Kyler murray conversations that are going. On if you
were a receiver In, minnesota what would your preference be
at the quarterback?

Speaker 8 (30:30):
Position Oh, Man competition for, sure somebody that's gonna PUSH
jj McCarthy to be, Better somebody that's gone force him
to have to be on his p's and q's every
practice physically and. Mentally if You're Justin, jefferson you just

(30:51):
you don't want to go through another season that you
just went, through especially when you look at what a
lot of other teams have done or doing and will
continue to, do and just receivers in, general like when
you come into the, league How jets came into the
league SETTING i mean going, crazy and then you have

(31:12):
this type of. Year it's hard to get used to
that and you see your peers just falling out of.
Control and so for, him If Kyler murray is the,
answer let's. Go if IT'S jj, McCarthy let's. GO i
just need guys to be. Better and that's, frustrating, man
when you have the type of starts in his career
that he had and now it's like, This and SO

(31:33):
i expect competition to be brought in FOR jj. McCarthy
kream always rises to the. Top if he's what they
thought he was when they drafted, him he's gonna rise
to the.

Speaker 5 (31:42):
Top do you Think Kyler murray makes?

Speaker 8 (31:44):
Sense Kyler murray makes sense because he can get out the,
pocket he's, accurate he has a good. On Kyler murray's
only negative is he's a small. Guy Kyler. MURRAY i
don't Know Kyler, murray BUT i know people have played
with him he's just a different, dude, Man and so
he's gonna have to change some of his ways personally

(32:08):
and be more of a, leader be more of a
guy that people gravitate. Towards. Uh, yeah he's just gonna
have to change a little bit of his, way especially
when you're the. Quarterback you, months it's a, month and
if he doesn't do, that he'll be out the league very.

Speaker 6 (32:21):
Soon, Dang let's keep it on Courtesh, Uh let's keep.

Speaker 5 (32:30):
It let's give it on.

Speaker 6 (32:31):
Receivers let's go to your home where you're a great
in The Cincinnati, Bengals Jamar chase had a by all,
accounts statistically had a great, year but it just didn't
seem like it was a great year for this. Team
and it seemed like there was like some heartache and some,
hard gut wrenching times some of the things we heard
From Joe burrow and not being happy and where they're

(32:54):
at with. Things you you more than anyone everybody would
know what the pulse is In. Cincinnati what should be the?
Approach how should we be looking at This bengals team this?

Speaker 5 (33:07):
Year?

Speaker 8 (33:09):
Man we better be. Better we we we better get
some guys on defense that can stop somebody like have
some pride like. That just that boggles my mind that
we are all professionals and we don't have pride in
what we do day in day out on a consistent.
Basis like, you nobody should be that bad, Defensively, nobody.

(33:30):
Nobody if you have pride and you're a true, professional
you nobody should be that bad defensively where you can't
stop somebody from just going up and down the field
all game. Long jamar had a good, year but when you're,
losing nobody has a good. Year and so that's how it.
Works like you, Know i've Seen joe at The Super,
bowl talk to him, frustrated AND i just hope we

(33:54):
can put a team around him because there's only so
much that somebody can. Take, believe he gonna get a
bingles two more years and if things don't, change AND
i think we will start to see a Different Joe.
Burrow because guys want, greatness they want to achieve, greatness
they want to reach the, pinnacle and we may not

(34:15):
reach it every, year but just give me an opportunity to,
read a real. Opportunity and So i'm hoping that we
can draft some guys and get some guys in free
agency defensively that can help accomplish that.

Speaker 5 (34:26):
GOAL. Tj Huschman.

Speaker 4 (34:28):
Zada you hear Him saturdays With LeVar arrington And Plexigo
burus on up On game here On Fox Sports. Radio

Speaker 4 (35:31):
Radio LaVar, Arrington Jonas Knox in For colin coming up
top of next hour a little over fifteen minutes from.
Now we've got more from the legal tampering period in THE.
Nfl we got, moves teams trying to compete for playoffs next,
year teams trying to make the impression that they actually
care about winning next, year all sorts of fun. Stuff, quarterbacks,

(35:51):
receivers defensive. Guys i've seen some kickers and punters go
off the. BOARD i Think Nick folk just got a
deal as well. Too so we will have more on
the latest from the tampering period in THE nfl coming
up top of next. Hour but right now it's time
for the return Of Tonguan.

Speaker 8 (36:08):
Towey, no, no.

Speaker 7 (36:13):
This is the Herd line, news all, Right, Greg what
a time to be alive right, now you. Guys we
GOT nfl free, agency we GOT, wbc we Got turney
week in college, hoops we GOT Nba like this is
This this is a great time of. Year let's start
it off In Kansas. City we told you last, Hour
Kenneth walker is going to the chief From seattle three year.

(36:34):
Deal this is a, massive massive move for The. Chiefs
but another move that happened today In Kansas City Travis
kelcey is expected to return next season.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
For The.

Speaker 5 (36:46):
Chiefs looks like it's going to be a one year.

Speaker 6 (36:49):
Deal does that include walker and wheelchair and come automatic
lift up.

Speaker 3 (36:56):
The stairs, You Kenneth.

Speaker 8 (36:59):
OH i.

Speaker 7 (37:05):
Don't THINK i could mentally prepare myself to See Taylor
swift anywhere else In Kansas.

Speaker 5 (37:09):
CITY i just.

Speaker 7 (37:10):
Couldn't but here was T J housminzana just a bit
ago on The chiefs outlook this.

Speaker 8 (37:15):
SEASON i say this will respect because of what The
chiefs have, accomplished what and Who Andy reid is as
a coach and a play. Caller door, shut window. Closed
because One mahomes is coming off a major. Injury we
don't know how he's gonna react to. That we don't
even know When mahomes is coming. Back they're losing really
good players on the defensive side of the, ball young defensive,

(37:35):
players not only young And trip mcduffy And jay And
watson just signed with The. Rams they don't have that
receiver that we just spoke up. Earlier who's going to
change the. Game who's going to demand respect when your
game planning to stop the CHIEF.

Speaker 4 (37:54):
I, mean, look, okay it probably is closed all, Right
if we're being, honest window probably is close for The
Kansas City chiefs because what The patriots, did we're never
going to see again to where the dynasty. Ended they
went ten years before winning Another Super bowl and then
they won three. More you just we're probably never ever

(38:15):
going to see that again because ten years from, now
What's Patrick mahomes going to be?

Speaker 5 (38:19):
Forty What's Andy reid? Doing ten years from? Now what
did he in?

Speaker 8 (38:23):
That?

Speaker 5 (38:24):
DAMN i hope he's still. Coaching, YEAH.

Speaker 2 (38:31):
I hope he.

Speaker 4 (38:31):
IS i, Also i'm not surprised That kelsey's. BACK i
know that they wanted to make a big to do
of the fact that On Christmas night he was walking
off the field and he was saying goodbye to everybody
and all. That BUT i think that he probably he
came out of this year and he wasn't beat.

Speaker 5 (38:49):
Up then he's still.

Speaker 4 (38:51):
Produced he was their best receiver last, year AND i
think that he wanted to end his time In Kansas
city With Patrick mahomes and instead of was you, know
was It Chris Olda ducan was the was the quarterback
on the field. THERE i just it made sense to,
me and the more that you heard him talk about
the excitement The eric The enemy was. Back he was
excited to Have eric The enemy. Back the more that

(39:12):
he talked about, it, uh the more that it felt
like he was probably gonna.

Speaker 5 (39:15):
Return that's.

Speaker 4 (39:16):
Wonderful, yeah, WELL i was going to tell.

Speaker 7 (39:19):
You i'll tell you real, quick we have another we
have do we do have another big? Signing i'll tell
you real. Quick under the radar this. Morning this happened really.
Early Were Shaun gary traded to The cowboys from The.

Speaker 3 (39:28):
Packers what a slapping?

Speaker 5 (39:29):
Us.

Speaker 6 (39:30):
Damn if A dallas, Fan i'm offended If i'm A
If i'm A Green Bay packers, fan it's just kind
OF i don't know how you.

Speaker 3 (39:37):
Feel but, man you.

Speaker 6 (39:39):
All just give away your best pass rusher and then
bring in the former best pass rusher of the. Team
you sent your best pass rusher, Too so, okay, yeah
we gave you our best pass, rusher but just the
season remove we came and took what your best passed rusher,

(39:59):
was but before we gave you our best ass a
little while they got it, Right, fine that's something like
real like messed up love triangle type stuff going, on,
RIGHT i don't want any parts of that, Yeah so
what are you, Doing, joneses what are you?

Speaker 7 (40:14):
Doing so this guy's this just came. Down we got
to give our old lineman some. Love we can't forget
about our old.

Speaker 5 (40:20):
Lineman now you.

Speaker 7 (40:20):
Can't ravens free agent Center Tyler, Linderbaum, okay no Tod No.
Raiders three, years eighty one million, deal eighty one dollars million,
deal sixty million, guaranteed makes some the highest paid interior
offensive lineman in THE.

Speaker 5 (40:38):
Nfl according To Adam, shepard.

Speaker 6 (40:39):
Biggest loss of the free agent period, already AND i
won't even suspect to think that it gets any closer
than where we are.

Speaker 5 (40:51):
Now this is the biggest loss period The. Ravens you.
Lost you messed up on this. One it also LOOK
i was surprise they didn't tag. Him that is.

Speaker 4 (41:02):
Horrible we talked about it On. Friday there was reports
that they had offered him twenty million a year and
he had turned it down and they didn't tag, him
and so this felt like this was probably where this was.
Headed and so now they're going to go back and
try and figure out the center. Position but if you're The,
raiders you just you just added probably the best free

(41:22):
agent on the.

Speaker 5 (41:23):
Market you, did you.

Speaker 6 (41:24):
Did and but reference The raiders the exact same way
you referenced The. Jets do not do not say anything
about the.

Speaker 3 (41:35):
Day you better handle The raiders this same exact.

Speaker 4 (41:38):
Way the good news For Tyler linderbaum is the fact
that it's that it's only a three year, deal so
he's only going to be stuck there at most three.
Years he can get out and he's going to hit
the market again at twenty eight years, old because he's
only twenty, Five so he's gonna he's gonna be able
to hit the market.

Speaker 5 (41:52):
There you.

Speaker 4 (41:53):
Know but it is good, that you, know if they're
going to draft For Nanna, mendoza absolutely that that you,
know you've got a. Center oh that's. Right they want
to add a veteran because they want the veteran to
play this next year and not the guy they're drafting
number one. Over, yeah that's that's that's that's WHAT i understand.

Speaker 6 (42:08):
That, yeah but that's a loss For. Baltimore, man that's
a tremendous. Lot that's the biggest ale of the off.
Season that's a, ale big old al big old, fat
juicy baney lad bad L, Yeah i'm glad you're. Happy
raiders fans enjoy that you still got a long way to.

Speaker 4 (42:30):
Go but he give me The Lennard ball is gonna
be sitting watching The Blue Man group with a, drink
going why DID i pick? Here there's so many other
PLACES i could have, gone And i'm stuck here looking at.

Speaker 3 (42:41):
This look at all the. Lights
