the record for most strikeouts in a season is held
by one Nolan Ryan, spinning it for the California Angels
in nineteen seventy three. How many batters did he strike
out that year?

number because I don't want to steal yours.

So write down your number. I have to write it. No,
I mean, I know, I know. Oh you know the answer.
Speaker 4 (11:01):
If he knows it, he wins. Get my guests, though,
go for.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Yeah, because this is not a number I hear people
talking about, and I'm going to say, I think anybody
would have this one memorized. My guess was freaking nature.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Guess it was three seventy eight, Rich, three are startlingly close?
Speaker 1 (11:17):
Really, I want four hundreds?
Speaker 3 (11:19):
Like really, that's really good. That's like really three hundred strike.
I feel like it was even the high three.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
Were you going to say, Covino? You were say, and Isaac,
why don't you give us the answer? There was three
hundred and eighty three? Yes, Oh wow, that's a well yeah,
sew close the game closer, game seventy What a good guess, Rich,
he counts and horses and handred. It's that silos fifth victory.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
Filling in for Dan Warfare, Jordan Walker was smooth like
that home run Derby champion.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
He was cool like that.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
He's cool like that put his damp on the league yesterday.
If you did not know Jordan Walker, guess what you
know today Jordan Walker. And we also learned that you
can't put ketchup on a Philly cheese steak. Well, see,
I'm sacrilegious, but I say, I don't give a I
don't give a cheese whiz yeah, whatever, I'm still doing.
Speaker 12 (12:16):
Just doing the privacy of your own home behind closed doors.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
If it's doing shame while no one's looking, you know,
I know you love to check what the Internet says.
What they're saying is if the classic Philly cheese steak
wiz Wit has the cheese, whiz ketchup, hot sauce and
mayo are typically kept on the side. However, if it's
provolone or American cheese, might be acceptable to.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
Put a little ketchup on there.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
All right, Well, there's a controversy going on not a
cheese steaks being eaten tonight All Star Game Tuesday in Philly.
But now it's time for our tire rack play of
the day. Speaking up, did the Philly fans really boo
a volunteer kid who missed the catch at the home run?
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Yes?
Speaker 13 (12:58):
I thought it was great, staying short compacts, trying to
keep his hands above the ball, really really good.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
I think that's the first time he kind of like
it was just labor. It wasn't so much overswungk.
Speaker 7 (13:09):
He was just a little bit late, but he's kicking
the barrel above the ball.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
He's doing calm.
Speaker 4 (13:14):
What I loved about it was.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
It was because the kid did your typical little league
where they their first step was in so they like
and they're like, oh, deserve to.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
Be booed if you're catching pop ups and a home
run derby this kid.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
That was courtesy of Netflix, where we all forgot to
go yesterday, at least I forgot to go.
Speaker 4 (13:34):
I'm like, where is the derby? You know there's websites.
He'll tell you where.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
Pay I went to the app it said Fox or
maybe I was looking tomorrow. You're looking at the game tonight.
I called Richie. Saved the day. As much as I
want to move on and talk about something else, I can't.
I can't stop, can't stop, won't stop. We talked about
cheese whiz and ketchup on a cheese steak. Yeah, and
(14:00):
nobody knows I'm cheese more than rich.
Speaker 12 (14:02):
I love cheese whiz, by the way. I grew up
with that stuff. My grandma would put it on eggs.
It was like my favorite thing ever.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
Do you know you remind me of another hot take
I have. I'm hot Take food boy today. Nothing bothers
me more when you go to a restaurant or a bar,
especially when you go to a bar or a pub
and on their menu it says nachos, I want melted cheese.
If the nachos come out with whiz, I'm like, no, no,
(14:27):
that should have been advertised. That's at a ball game.
That's a guy that's at Dodger Stadium, that's at seven eleven.
If I'm gonna ball, If I'm at a pub where
it's like eighteen dollars nachos, I don't want.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
It's powdered cheese. Makes put both rich.

coast and my wife who's from Texas.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
I'm just gonna end it with, forget the cheese steaks,
forget this.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
Why would I ever debate the hot take food boy
as he called himself. I'm gonna regret that, aren't I
tell you more hot take food boy.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
If if you if you dip your pizza and ranch,
you're the problem.
Speaker 4 (15:28):
Nothing wrong with that.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
There is something wrong with that. You see a respectable
profile off the hook. The same way.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
Philly is real snobby about like you don't put ketchup
on it. That is how New Yorkers view their pizza.
That is fact right, it's their snobby about it.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
We're number one.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
It doesn't need those toppings. But I'm a firm believer
of like you eat whatever you enjoy, so I'll judge
you completely. No ranch on pizza the end. Now it's time,

look you that, Thank you, thank you. Hey, enjoy congrats Gerald, Gerald,
you the man. Thank you.
Speaker 4 (22:24):
Oh my goodness, that that's saying.
Speaker 15 (22:26):
What was it?
Speaker 1 (22:26):
Quote puppy that was the most like quick easy, that's
not it. Poppy Rich has a the end to that story.
Speaker 4 (22:32):
Hey, I want to hear more about the possum.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
Just kidding, No, I don't. I say when you when
you're not good at something, you just have to work
harder or something like that. Very memorable. That's the insightful quote.
That's right. It's like something Magic Johnson would. Hey, I
got another quote. It's all good. You're like that one.
Speaker 4 (22:51):
Come on this one.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
You my dog, you're my dog.
Speaker 4 (22:55):
Hey enjoyed the game tonight a star touch puppy, you
my dog.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
See you next week. Thank you, big Poppy. An action
pack day. There is like a messy pump in his fist. Dude,
he had how many assists? Manzi too?
Speaker 1 (23:09):
Was it too? He definitely had the second one.
Speaker 15 (23:12):
I don't know if he assisted the first one, because
the first one by Enzo Fernandez, it was a clean
shot by him by himself.
Speaker 12 (23:18):
I think he had the Yeah, he had the assist
on that too, though. It's just yeah, oh he was
just so he was out of the box.
Speaker 4 (23:23):
So I was like, I don't know. Yes, it was
like it wasn't a bang bang play. I don't know
the rules.
Speaker 12 (23:30):
I'll tell you right now.
Speaker 7 (23:31):
If they gave him the assist, yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
If you second gave it to him, he did give
him the assists.
Speaker 12 (23:35):
You're right on that.
Speaker 4 (23:35):
Nice, She says, Like, can you honestly put that in perspective? Anybody?
Speaker 3 (23:40):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, We're gonna talk
All Star Game midweek? Major Mike who runs his take?
It's gonna get controversial. Who Mike who runs his take? Well,
I guess full of it. I mean, I love him.
He has some really hard hitting stuff today, So stick around.
But put this in perspective. As far as like what
Messi means to soccer, we know he's the goat, but like,
(24:03):
is he?
Speaker 1 (24:05):
Now?
Speaker 3 (24:05):
I know it's worldwide so it's different, But like, is
he Jordan? Is he magic Johnson?
Speaker 1 (24:10):
Like magic? The way he drops dives, That's.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
What I'm saying. Is it more magic Johnson?
Speaker 5 (24:14):
Like that?
Speaker 1 (24:14):
Assists?
Speaker 3 (24:16):
The way he places them, the way this placement is impeccable?
Like how would you describe him to someone who doesn't
know anything, right, Like I think Magic Johnson might be
the best exacting.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
Yeah, because Magic was also an offensive threat himself, but
his passing was elite.
Speaker 4 (24:30):
So it's really insane when you think about what he's
doing at this age.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
Lessly his wife is hotel huhod for him.
Speaker 4 (24:38):
And how old is he now?
Speaker 1 (24:39):
Thirty eight? I mean, do you expect him to not
have a hot wife.
Speaker 12 (24:42):
He just turned I think he just yeah, he just
turned thirty eight.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
And on a side note, I got to give credit
to our boy KFC, who was also a guest on
our show over promised again on YouTube at kovin oner
j FSR. That's our bonus podcast guys on Fox Sports,
so check it out. There's a guy named Lamin Jamil
on Spain. He's a nineteen year old phenom. I'm sure
you know him if you follow soccer and this nineteen
(25:07):
year old phenom. Have you seen this story, Mansi? This
is like the most remarkable weird story.
Speaker 1 (25:11):
No, also mess thirty nine?
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Sorry okay, yeah, turn thirty nine, so forget this. When
when MESSI is twenty years he going to get a
card from you. No, when he was twenty years old,
he was already like a legend. Right, he's already like
the guy everybody's crowning him to go. He's the future
of soccer. Lamin Emil's family won some sort of UNICEF contest,
like a like a raffle of source and they're like,
(25:35):
get this your meal, family, We're gonna let your baby,
your five month old baby, take a picture with the
great MESSI. So there's a picture you're seeing floating around
the internet and it's a young Messy like bathing a
young black baby.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
I have it. I'll send it to you.
Speaker 4 (25:54):
Yeah, right, but that young black baby weird.
Speaker 12 (25:57):
It's saved your phone because my friend send it to
me because he's like, yeah, it's it's it's been making
the rounds, dude.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
The improbabilities of this happening are astronomical. Okay, because that
middle five month baby, that five month old with the
twenty year old MESSI, they're going face to face all
these years later in the World Cup. How crazy is that?
And that's a true pick. That's a true story. I
think it's one of the most.
Speaker 1 (26:22):
No it legit.
Speaker 12 (26:23):
Yeah, you can see how young MESSI is in He's
got one of the.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
Most random coincidences all time. Because you have to I
don't even know how you would factor in the probabilities,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (26:33):
It's like, it's insane.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
I remember on the show, we've talked about the improbabilities
of things happening, like you remember when Rizzo a ball
was hit to him at the Cubs game when he
was in the crowd on Rizzo Day.
Speaker 4 (26:44):
Yet I was insane.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
There was another one. Did you see the story in
San Diego? Get this? This is another viral story right now,
the airbnb.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
Yeah, did you see the airbnb story? These two sisters
are at an Airbnb in San Diego and they're looking
around and all the artwork and that's a beautiful airbnb,
sleek and decorated beautifully, and like, wait a minute, there's
like a beautiful stock photo of a beach on the wall.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (27:12):
And they're like, wait a minute, there's dad, our brother,
me and you. We're in the photo on the wall
the airbnb. We just so happened to book. And they're like, yeah,
we're we're in a stock photo we had no clue about.
And they found themselves on the wall of the airbnb.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
They were hidden, ye.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
But yeah, now this this lamin your mall story is
pretty funny, so pretty wild. You can see the picture
now at coven on rich FSR on YouTube. So that
little baby Lamina mal of Spain is going against that dude.
Speaker 4 (27:42):
It's MESSI all these years later, wild up.
Speaker 3 (27:44):
Sorry, I think you're gonna mention the one of remember
that couple that went to a Disneyland, Like, that's not.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
Ben Mallard bathing VJ Husky.
Speaker 4 (27:53):
No, no, no, no, no, that's a young MESSI sorry, no.
Speaker 1 (27:56):
I thought you were going to bring up the example
of a few years back, might have been seven now,
there was a couple who the guy saw himself in
the girls Disneyland. That story blew my mind. That's another
you don't know what Danny's talking about.
Speaker 3 (28:13):
Let's just say he was at his now wife's house,
but when they were dating, he was at his girlfriend's
house and they happened to be looking through like look
at Jessica when she was a teenager. And he's like, oh, well,
go back to that picture. He saw himself in the
background of one of her family photos. They happened to
be at Disney on the same day, like a decade
or so before. Yeah, these like coincidental things just recently
(28:36):
you I believe you told me the story of this
couple that went to the game on the wrong day
and they were like, ah, screw it, we might as
well just go. They went, and they had tickets for
the next day. Yeah, so they just said, well, we're
here at the ballpark, it's the wrong day, but let's
just go. I forget who it was off the top
of the dome, Danny, you could figure it out, but
whoever it is, hit a home run to them on
(28:57):
the top.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
And then on the next day they went to their
origine ticket seats and it happened again the very next day,
same batter right to them. So yeah, the major coincidence.
And you know it's only a story now that Argentina advances.
I'm with you and our buddy KFC from Barstool, who
pointed it out when these statistical coincidences happened. I'm fascinated
(29:19):
by them. I can't think of it, but I feel like,
just recently there was another one I brought up, like, come.
Speaker 1 (29:23):
You do you know the chances with that happening is
it gotta be like one a trillion. The time Howard
Stern pushed you on a swing when you were a
little baby, and then it's like, oh my god, we
both worked at serious.
Speaker 3 (29:31):
Exam Danny g That's really funny because that would be
the equivalent of what's happening with this Lamina mal story,
Like you know what I mean, Like that's Howard Stern
was pushing you on a swinging and oh my god,
all these years later you work together on.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
Some sort of line.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
There was another story like this, because listen, there are
billions of people on planet Earth, so these coincidences are
bound to happen here and there. But oh, wasn't it
a the two ballplayers that are both heads with the
same name and they're both the Oh yeah, they could
both have they wear glasses, they have beards, the same name.
Speaker 1 (30:07):
These things happen, and when they do.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
I know the guys was on the A's I can't
remember his name, but the fact that this kid at
five months old your meal Lamin Yamal. Yeah, I keep
seeing the email because it was Laman lea mean Yamal
of Spain. It was a nineteen year old phenom kid.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
It was a baby.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
But it would also require that him rechieve greatness to
this level at nineteen and for Messi to sustain his
greatness for this long at thirty nine, Like, there's so
many factors that have to happen for that to be
a probability possibility, and we're gonna see it all go
down as we get Argentina and Spain in the World
(30:43):
Cup finals. So there it is a sauce set man
Argentina wins. I mean, this is not as coincidental, but
I'm always shocked even too by you hear like, oh,
Adam Levine and Jonah Hill went to high school together.
Speaker 1 (30:55):
Yeah, that's like, I don't know if that's like birds
of a feather.
Speaker 3 (30:59):
I don't know how that work or just a coincidence
of like, like, no one from my high school did
anything you're telling me they were many Kravits and Slash
went to high school together. It's like, what are the chances?
You know, You're like, you always hear these cool stories.
Judd Apatow and Adam Sandler were roommates.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
And really those pictures you were talking about rich Brady Fagel, Yes,
to them, there's two Brady faga They took a dnahs
and they.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
Had no relation and they both looked exactly alike. And
how it happened was, you know, they were like, oh,
they kept getting mistaken for each other. Obviously that's what happened.
So random coincidence written in the stars. It was destiny
meant to be.
Speaker 12 (31:36):
It was fate that England would collapse so that messy
bathing baby Jamal would eventually lead to a World Cup
of Yamal.
Speaker 3 (31:42):
You have to add that into this to the probability
Argentina had to come back again with like ten minutes
left to even make this happen.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
Is Fatewise otherwise this story falls not a story.
Speaker 4 (31:53):
Yeah, I just saw someone hit us up.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
Wild Otherwise it's just at that, hey, you know, could
have been and then no one cares, Like like I
always say, the Ndie shoves catch and O six would
have been the greatest catcher in baseball postseason history. But
the Mets also it doesn't matter. It wouldn't matter, you
lose the significance. Someone hit us up.
Speaker 7 (32:12):
Did you know that?
Speaker 3 (32:13):
And I've seen this before too, you know that if
you're a wrestling fan WWE, of course you remember Jeff
Jared Jeff Jared Taylor Swift baby sat his kids like
just stuff like that, Like what's the chance of these
Like wait, this person turned out to be you know.
Speaker 4 (32:31):
Yeah, when you think of like how hard it is
to make it.
Speaker 3 (32:33):
When you hear the stories like that, you're like, oh,
is it because they all come from money and they
run in the same circles or is it coincidence? Like
when you hear even in the Charlie Sheen documentary recently winning,
like the guy's growing up. I understand his dad was
super famous. Yeah, so he was growing up with Chris
and Sean Penn and George Clooney, like they all grew
(32:54):
up together, like running around the streets.
Speaker 4 (32:56):
Like coincidence. So just I don't know, got to just
tell you to side on it.
Speaker 3 (33:00):
They just pant to a woman in the crowd who
had Argentina face paint, and can I tell you the
difference between being on the losing or winning side of
that effort? If you if you paint your face, If
you paint your face and your team wins, You're like, yeah,
you paint your face and the teams lose. You have
to walk out of that stadium and spend the next
hours like getting home like a clown.
Speaker 12 (33:21):
Could be smeared with tears like a like a.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
Like said English, do you remember there was a it
was a postseason game where there were these Jambronis in Houston.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
I know you hate the Astros all day.
Speaker 3 (33:33):
Do you remember they were like a couple of idiots,
just like astronauts that sat at the game. And I
remember being like, if you win, they went from astronauts
to astronaut.
Speaker 1 (33:41):
Yeah, like you win, you're like, oh cool. You lose,
You're like, I'm dressed like an astronaut. No, even if
you won, you're dressed like an astronaut.
Speaker 3 (33:46):
I think about the proud fans of like the black
Hole for the Raiders, like you win, you like fired up,
you get your if your team gets an ass weapon.
Speaker 4 (33:57):
There you were spikes on your shoulders.
Speaker 1 (33:59):
And still we dress on a regular tuesdays.
Speaker 3 (34:02):
I see those guys around town. All right, So Argentina
defeats England two to one World Cup coincid dance, You
better freaking believe it. And then the other question I posed,
and you can call if you want or just hit
us up later, where like if you were to simplify
how great or how or the game of a messy
(34:24):
to a basketball fan or a baseball fan, like, how
would you describe it?
Speaker 4 (34:27):
And I think the NYG sort of nailed it.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
The way he.
Speaker 3 (34:30):
Plays, the precision in which he passes, how he moves
the ball around, how he is unselfish with how he plays.
But magic Johnson with the ability to score it. It
is very magic Johnson. If you could come up with
a better example, please hit us up. But it was incredible.
Another incredible performance. Trying to think of any other coincid
(34:50):
dance I could think of it. Those those type of
stories truly do fascinate me, Like they're like, what's the
chance of that? I mean, I know it's not so
much a coincidence, but like, like, what's the chance of
falling in love?
Speaker 1 (35:03):
Did you see that story from back in the day
where two players on a team.
Speaker 3 (35:08):
Just swapped wives and families? It was the k Yeah, yeah,
like they just happened to be like, wait, you're my
soul man.
Speaker 1 (35:14):
Another story you guys have talked about on the air
with crazy coincidences involves two presidents.
Speaker 3 (35:19):
Oh it's uh John F. Kennedy and Abe Lincoln. I
was just thinking about all the famous uh rich secretary.
Oh dude, what about the Alex Smith Joe thisman injuries
and how like on the same like the yard line
and the same score of the game by a defensive
player that was the year like it's written in the
stars and it's just around repeat JFK Secretary and Lincoln
sectors like the same name, or there's so many the
(35:43):
whole list similarities, and that whole jfk Abe Lincoln thing
is very similar to the Alex Smith Thaisman thing that
Rich mentioned. It has done the same way and it's
almost too eerily similar where you have to think, like, are.
Speaker 4 (35:56):
We living in like a parallel dimension?
Speaker 3 (35:58):
What's going on here we go Joe Thiseman and Alex Smith?
If we're gonna talk about coincidences like Yamal being bathed
by Messi now here, Yeah, me and you mall like
it's it's really wild when you think about it, right,
Joe Thiseman broke his right tibia and fibula. Alex Smith
broke his right tibia and fibula. The date both of
those gruesome injuries happened. Both happened on November eighteenth. What
(36:21):
team did they play for, Washington? The location a home
game in DC. What yard line did the injury happen
on the thirty nine yard line in both cases? What
was the final score of both of those games twenty
three to twenty one. Who caused the injury. Three time
Defensive Player of the Year, Lawrence Taylor, three time Defensive
(36:41):
Player of the Year, Jj Watt Wow left tackle. Pro
bowler Joe Jacobi was off the field during Thismand's injury.
Pro bowler Trent Williams was off the field in that
moment during Alex Smith's injury. It is two coincid death
like that. Some years it was meant to happen, right,
(37:04):
and this was another just weird sports coincidence that we
had to share with you. And again we only share
it because it happened. If Argentina didn't win, just now,
it's a non story. And it really is incredible that
Messy's behind both assists to put Argentina again victorious over England,
as everybodys saying, f England and man, what a great
(37:25):
World Cup it's been. So that's our thoughts. That's your story.
And we said, got to talk All Star game last night.
I gave you a little Lincoln Kennedy side by side.
You're down for a little history lesson. Yeah, it's been
a while, so I've heard this, Okay, I'll give you
some of these This is the pure coincid dance between
Lincoln and Kennedy.
Speaker 12 (37:41):
And there was a tackle for the Raiders named Lincoln Kennedy.
He's used to be a host on our network. Here
lok of that that all ties together, and he knows
Lincy Link. This guy must know all these facts. Lincoln
was elected to Congress eighteen forty six. Kennedy nineteen forty six,
elected President eighteen sixty, elected President nineteen six. His wife
lost a child while living in the White House.
Speaker 1 (38:04):
Same with jfk.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
He was directly concerned with civil rights, both of them.
Lincoln was shot in the back of the head in
the presence of his wife. Kennedy was shot in the
back of the head in the presence of his wife.
Lincoln had a secretary named Kennedy who told him not
to go to the theater. Kennedy had a secretary named
Lincoln who told him you might not want.
Speaker 1 (38:24):
To go to Dallas.
Speaker 3 (38:25):
That that one right there is the one that really
sticks in. Link was shot at the Ford Theater. Kennedy
was shot in a Lincoln made by Ford.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
Yeah, it's insane though they were both shot on a Friday. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
John Wilkes Booth is fifteen letters long. Same with Lee
Harvey Oswall three names. Booth shot Lincoln in a theater
and fled to a warehouse. Oswald shot Kennedy from a
warehouse and fled to a theater. Booth was killed before
being brought to trial. So it was Oswald and linked
(39:00):
successor was Andrew Johnson born in eighteen oh eight. Kennedy's
successor Lyndon Johnson born in nineteen oh eight.
Speaker 4 (39:07):
Dude ESZ, that was acid or yeah, we're just living
on a loop, you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (39:13):
Like, wow, man, how many babies did Messi bathe? One?
Speaker 3 (39:20):
Imagine it was a contest where it's like and that
year he bathed two thousand babies, one of them out
to be a star. Sunday was he blessing babies and
we don't know why baptizing? Yeah, he was blessing little
future soccer stars. Man, that's a that's still wild, even
though I've heard that Kennedy Lincoln thinking million times. So
it's still mind blast if you're just joining us. There
is a picture float around of of course Argentina star
(39:44):
Lionel Messi, who was only twenty as a young man
for a promotional contest bathing a five month old baby
who is now one of the star players of Spain
and they face each other in the World Cup final
this weekend. Well, Mariam, the picture was from I believe
it was from seven. So there you have it, your
(40:04):
thoughts and you blew my mind again with those coincidence.
On a side personal note, Rich and I went to
where Kennedy was shot.
Speaker 1 (40:13):
Have you ever been there?
Speaker 4 (40:14):
It's really eerie. You you know what eerie things You're like.
Speaker 3 (40:19):
The grassy knolls right there, and we lived in New
York during nine to eleven, so you could argue Ground
zero that's a very special sacred like said, the emotional
place right.
Speaker 1 (40:29):
Also saw where Martin Luther King wish I was going
to say, the two.
Speaker 3 (40:32):
Places we've been in the United States that make you
feel some type of way, Sam, was it a hotel
in Memphis, the Memphis Motel.
Speaker 4 (40:39):
But it looks like it's like like time.
Speaker 12 (40:41):
It's like it's a historic place now.
Speaker 3 (40:43):
But but you go there and you feel like something
in your stomach, like a pit in your stomach. And
when you go to Dallas where JFK was assassinating, have
an exit the street where it happened. Even as like
a tourist just walking by. You feel like you're on
the Zubruder film. I'm not joking, Like it's it's such
a surreal, it's like we still walk around you like, yeah,
feel like instantly somber, and you're like yeah, panning around,
(41:06):
looking around, and when you stand on that ax, you're like, oh,
this is weird. I don't know, but we were there
and it's a real story. Dally Plaza, Daily Plaza. Yeah,
a show, A show worth checking out.
Speaker 1 (41:18):
Rich. I think you watched this. It's on Netflix now,
eleven twenty two sixty three.
Speaker 3 (41:21):
Yeah, I watched, James, I watched it back of the
day when it was on. It might have been on
Hulu or another provider back then. But this is pre
I saw an alien James Franco. Right, this is like yea, yeah,
this is like back this is before people said it
was a creep bilt James Frank Yeah, this is the
Stephen King show.
Speaker 1 (41:35):
I've always been a fan of his, of his work.
Speaker 3 (41:37):
But eleven twenty two sixty three, the day that Kennedy
got killed, Sam, you would love it if you haven't
seen it, have you seen that show?
Speaker 10 (41:43):
I have not.
Speaker 1 (41:44):
He's able to go.
Speaker 3 (41:45):
I'm not I want to give it anything way, but
he's able to time travel and he goes back to
nineteen sixty three, and his whole motive of the show
is like, could he do something to prevent this assassination?
Can we put it into ai chat ept or whatever
claude the probabilities or are we just in the prisoner
of the moment here the probabilities of this one little
(42:07):
kid being bathed by Messi all these years later, what
are the probabilities? It's like astronomical. I would think astronomical
chances because to achieve this level of greatness, to play
in a World Cup representing your country, for them to
still for him to be this young, to be there,
for him to still be there, for Argentina to win,
(42:27):
for Spaine to advance, when you factor in all the
people in the world, for it to come down to
that astronomical.
Speaker 12 (42:34):
It's amazing. They're facing off. But what if Jaml was
always reminded growing up. He's like, remember, you are a
special child. You were bathed by Messi. So he's like,
I'm gonna grow up be a white class soccer.
Speaker 3 (42:42):
You know what, Sam, I think there's power in that too, right.
It's like in his mind he was always like blessed
by greatness and oh he's gonna be a soccer player.
We got this picture with MESSI and like that's the
power of thought too. I believe there's something to do
with that. You think it's a coincidence that, I mean,
this kid rose to that level.
Speaker 1 (43:00):
It is pretty AI says, The answer is roughly one
in a few billions. Gotta be got.
Speaker 3 (43:06):
I mean, we did something recently, and I hate bringing
up something where I don't have the answer, but there
was something on our show in the last year, and
I'm sure I'm sure someone that pays close attention, like
a Trip or a Wes or someone would know. I
came in with like some like something like funny bad
happened to be like, oh my team lost on something,
And I remember being like, the chance of that happening
(43:27):
was like one new one, like a trillion great story. Man,
how about the chances of me to night everyone being
in line with Josh Dumel twice in like two weeks
into AI next Yeah, yeah, maybe maybe I'm just easily impressed.
But I always thought this was a crazy coincidence in
our professional broadcasting career rich and I this is a
true story. We're interviewing Sugar Ray Leonard and guess who
(43:51):
came walking down the hallway Sugar Ray, Mark McGrath.
Speaker 4 (43:55):
We have a picture with it.
Speaker 3 (43:56):
Come on, we got we got a picture with Sugar
Ray and Sugar Ray. We have a true story. What
are the chances we might be the only show? Yeah,
same as the thid the same thing. This first segment's
blowing my mind. I know, man, I know, but it
does really make you wonder what Sam said. Sam, it's
a great thought. I was thinking the same thing.
Speaker 1 (44:15):
I swear like.
Speaker 3 (44:17):
It's the power of influence, right, if you're telling a
kid his whole life, you're going to be great. Yeah,
look at MESSI MESSI was giving a pat We have ature.
Speaker 1 (44:24):
In our messy.
Speaker 4 (44:27):
Kid, like, yeah, I'm gonna be a great soccer fill great.
Speaker 1 (44:29):
But the spot has a picture on standby. We'll get that.
There we are there it is. It's us with two
Sugar Rays on the same day, same moment, same time,
same place.
Speaker 3 (44:38):
Where the chances Wow, one in ten billion odds of
that first I figure out That's what I figured, Danny
g you know, is it the power of influence? And
thought and mind power of telling his kid he was
going to be a soccer player, and he did because
he you know, believed it.
Speaker 12 (44:52):
He still had to have like the talent and the
drive and to be and he's like a young guy's
waits like nineteen.
Speaker 1 (44:59):
Yeah, that's crazy. Daniel chimes in. He says, I think
it was the same chance as the Mets winning the
World Series one.
Speaker 4 (45:06):
You know what, we got to pump the feelings.
Speaker 3 (45:09):
The chat is up at Covino and rich FSR on YouTube,
and your thoughts on where does Messi stand as far
as other examples, even though we know he's more mammoth
and bigger than all the stars we've named worldwide.
Speaker 4 (45:22):
You know, congrats again to them. We still got to
talk to the All star.
Speaker 1 (45:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (45:25):
The true fun about these wildly statistically impossible coincidences is
like you're even fascinating when something simple happens, like like MANSI,
where'd you.
Speaker 1 (45:36):
Go to college? Calsey Fullerton?
Speaker 3 (45:39):
Now you bump into someone that went there, or someone's like,
oh you went there? How many times is something like
oh my god, do you know?
Speaker 1 (45:46):
And I don't know.
Speaker 3 (45:48):
I don't because like a college is big, there's tens
of thousands of students, but ever on that rare occasion
has it happened? Were like, oh my god, they were
my roommate. By the way, that type of thing happens
once in a blue moon. To do you know what,
Monsie I met in a strange coincidence?
Speaker 1 (46:02):
I did.
Speaker 12 (46:02):
I was do you know sports?
Speaker 1 (46:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 12 (46:05):
I was.
Speaker 1 (46:05):
I was at a bar in Sherman Oaks.
Speaker 3 (46:07):
I was. I was at a bar Sherman Oaks and
I was like with a friend or a colleague, and
You're like, how you doing right now?
Speaker 1 (46:15):
No?
Speaker 4 (46:15):
No, no, so my my buddy it was.
Speaker 3 (46:17):
It was our buddy Jay from Serious EXCM, and I'm
talking to my buddy about like, yeah, man, Fox Sports
Radio has been really great for us, man, I'm so
glad we found a home at Fox Sports Radio. He's like, yeah,
how's it going. I'm I just going great, dude. You know,
We're we're doing Sunday nights now, but I think we're
gonna be full time soon. It's been such a blessing
Fox Sports Radio. Blah blah blah. Bartender comes up to me, like,
you know a half hour later, is like, hey, man,
(46:38):
were you saying Fox Sports Radio before?
Speaker 1 (46:40):
And I was like, yeah, wy.
Speaker 4 (46:41):
He goes there is a girl across the bar.
Speaker 3 (46:43):
She says she's celebrating with her friends because she just
got a job at Fox Sports Radio. And I look
over and it's Monsi and I never saw before in
my life, and now here she is on our show.
Speaker 1 (46:52):
Yeah truth. Can you say something to the effect of
you're a girl you know sports?
Speaker 15 (46:59):
Because and I was with my friends, so I had
like we were taking some shots naturally, and so when
the bartender comes back to me and he's like that
guy works out Fox Sports Radio, I was like what.
He's like, well, you were talking about it, and then
he's talking so I told.
Speaker 1 (47:13):
Him, and then I looked at my friends and I
was like, am I supposed to go? Say hi?
Speaker 15 (47:16):
And my friends were like yeahah, you cute, go ahead,
go ahead, And I was like, okay, I just took
a shop.
Speaker 1 (47:20):
All right, Okay, let's go.
Speaker 15 (47:21):
So I walk over and I introduced myself and he
was very very kind, and he you asked me, like
what my job was, and I was like, I don't,
I don't know, but I but I'm hired.
Speaker 1 (47:31):
I'm gonna do some sort of like updates, I think.
And then he was like, you know, sports.
Speaker 4 (47:39):
Like she didn't even know what she was doing, so I.
Speaker 1 (47:42):
Didn't even know.
Speaker 4 (47:42):
Yes, you know it was maybe it was more innocent
that it sounds.
Speaker 11 (47:45):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (47:45):
Wait, how what a random point?
Speaker 1 (47:48):
Right?
Speaker 3 (47:48):
And here we are, here we are, We're running late,
but uh, really fun first half hour? How are we
going to top that? I feel magical, right, I feel
I feel mystic.
Speaker 16 (47:58):
Hey, it's Ben, the host of the with Ben Maller.
Would mean a lot to have you join us on
our weekly auditory journey. You're asking, what in God's name
is the Fifth Hour? I'll tell you it's a spin
off of that Ben Maler show, a Colt hit overnights
on FSR.
Speaker 1 (48:12):
Why should you listen?
Speaker 16 (48:14):
Picture if you will a world will We chat with
captains of industry in media, sports, and more every week
explore some amazing facts about.
Speaker 1 (48:21):
Human nature and more.
Speaker 16 (48:22):
Listen to The Fifth Hour with Ben Maller or the
iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast or wherever you get.
Speaker 1 (48:26):
Your podcast.
Speaker 3 (48:30):
Now. Nothing is going to compare it to the probabilities
the impossibilities of this messy Lamina mal story.
Speaker 4 (48:39):
Danny g said won in like ten billion chances of
this happened.
Speaker 1 (48:42):
Have you seen that I'm sorry. It was on like
sixty minutes a couple months ago.
Speaker 3 (48:45):
There's a dad who found the video of his daughter
when she was like a little kid, like maybe like
Kindergarten's like, I'm gonna marry Billy Thompson. And that's the
dad's like, who's Billy Thompson. He's like, I'm gonna marry
Billy Thompson.
Speaker 4 (48:56):
I think the name was Max.
Speaker 1 (48:58):
She said yeah.
Speaker 4 (48:58):
It was like, yeah, I'm gonna marry Max.
Speaker 3 (49:01):
And the dad plays it at her wedding when she
marries like Max Thompson, like you stop, you know, but
she you forgot one part of the story's gonna be there.
Speaker 4 (49:09):
And she's like it's gonna be me, Sophie, Cindy, Carol
and Jed and I'm gonna marry Max and and here
all there and she marries Max.
Speaker 1 (49:18):
No, no, no, she went and found friends after that.
Speaker 5 (49:21):
I was like no, no, no.
Speaker 1 (49:22):
He was like, I gotta find video ladies help me.
Speaker 3 (49:25):
But again, it does show the power of will and
manifestation and and your thoughts and and everything else. Because
I bet, like Sam said, this kid knew it pushed
him further in the world of soccer. But this is
very random, but really, what are the chances you ever
look at your parents' yearbook and you realize how old
they looked at seventeen?
Speaker 4 (49:44):
You're just looking at your parents yearbook, Dude, I was
gonna say, chops and mustaches, what's going on.
Speaker 1 (49:50):
I'd always look at it.
Speaker 3 (49:51):
I'd always be fascinated looking at my parents, like high
school yearbooks and stuff.
Speaker 1 (49:54):
Like why are they so old? Looking? Anyway?
Speaker 4 (49:57):
I'd look at this picture of my dad, like that's
my dad, He's so weird.
Speaker 3 (50:01):
And it was Steve Covino Senior, and he's like, yay,
you're right, my dad, and night next to him was
a guy named Steve Corvino, right, And I'd.
Speaker 1 (50:09):
Be like, who's that guy my dad? Like ye had
to know some jo.
Speaker 4 (50:13):
He really had a similar name.
Speaker 3 (50:15):
Everybody always confused us, right, So I always knew that
my dad, Steve Covino was in his yearbook next to
a guy named Steve Corvino. Yes, people always confused my
name and misspelled it Corvino all the time. It's always
a hassle. But there was a guy that existed. Long
story short. Rich and I are on a zoom meeting
for iHeartMedia and Fox Sports Radio. This is like a
(50:37):
few months ago and we're in a meeting and they
pull up all the people from iHeart and one of
the first guys on the zoom meeting is this guy?
Was it Phil Corvinoh? Like I got like Phil Corvino.
Phil Corvino's there was like, hey guys, and like, hey,
what's up Phil? We don't know him from anything. Big
is a big wig. He's a big wig. But it's
our first time meeting him, and I jokingly say, you know,
(50:58):
my dad he graduated with some guy named Steve Corvino
and my dad. He goes, where's your dad from? I'm
like Irvington, New Jersey. He goes, Steve Corvino, that's my cousin.
Speaker 4 (51:10):
Wind blown chances, Dude, what are the so guy I
never met before?
Speaker 1 (51:16):
Big?
Speaker 4 (51:16):
We got our heart. Your cousin went to high school
with my dad.
Speaker 1 (51:20):
What are the chances? And you know, we mentioned that
because he had looked at the yearbook for so many time,
so many years. You know, people are like, is this
guy trying to cancel the network? Well, Mike, who runs
this tape, is in true Big Mike may get to
be in charge of the segment, but he still doesn't
run this place. He really doesn't even run this segment
(51:42):
when you think about it, because this Mike can be
turned off by Sam at any moment. I wouldn't do that.
Speaker 5 (51:46):
That may be true, but Big Mike does get to
pick the topic and then CNR offer their strong opinions
on it.
Speaker 1 (51:52):
Consider it a warm up to midweek Mature Mike who.
Speaker 4 (51:55):
Rubs this take a cold stone. Steve Austin.
Speaker 1 (51:59):
Hello, gentlemen, all you Mike kick it away buddy. Yeah.
By the way, I agree All Star game was cause
the derby so good, that's the problem. Yeah, what are
you gonna do? Yeah?
Speaker 13 (52:10):
So today, and just to let you all behind the
curtain a little bit, I did I do when I
When I have this segment, I will give everybody kind
of a heads up. Hey, Hey, here's what we're going
to talk about today. Prepare yourself so you guys have
a chance to come up with, you know, some thoughts
on the subject before I reveal my actual take on
the subject. Okay, So for today, and this is not
(52:33):
sports related at all, I would like to posit that
every human being on this planet, yeah, should be in therapy.
Everybody can benefit from therapy. Everybody can benefit from meditation unless.
Speaker 3 (52:54):
I feel like I respect him. It's like going to
a gym and seeing a fat trainer. Do I want
that trainer?
Speaker 1 (52:58):
No? So my point being.
Speaker 13 (53:03):
Together, Rich, I'm actually going to agree with you that
the person you talk to pick it is important, is important.
But I think it's important that they are a professional
and that they are objective. That's what I'm talking about.
And you're right because I did study psychology when I
was in college, long before I dropped out, and what
(53:24):
I found was in the psychology department, most of the
people I was going to school with were bat as
crazy and they and they became psychology majors because they
wanted to self diagnose.
Speaker 1 (53:38):
So you're absolutely right, I will give you that.
Speaker 3 (53:40):
And a lot of people in the industry and nowadays,
I feel so so many younger generation people love to
throw around words like narcissist or gaslighting or this and
that they're just terms.
Speaker 1 (53:51):
Well, they don't know what they're talking about. That's why
you need a professional. So you're saying everyone needs therapy,
how about this, you know vibe?
Speaker 3 (53:56):
I'm getting seriously as as like the outset looking in
here because or so against it I feel like, deep down,
all you're saying is there's nothing some other third party
could tell you that you don't know yourself like I know,
I know, but I.
Speaker 1 (54:09):
Know my shortcomings. I try to deal with him.
Speaker 3 (54:11):
I don't need a person i've never met to be like, hey,
you know sometimes I'm not attentive enough of other times.
Speaker 4 (54:17):
Well, he's saying, everyone could benefit from.
Speaker 1 (54:19):
You know, Douc.
Speaker 3 (54:20):
I really have a hard time, like everyone every human
on earth, balancing family and work and everything.
Speaker 1 (54:25):
These are I don't need a stranger to tell me that.
I feel like a pretty well adjusted person that we talked.
Speaker 3 (54:30):
We talked to Henry Winkler today and Rich asked him
a question. He goes, Rich goes, when did you know
you had it right right? Henry Winkler said, it was
to day eleven years ago. I met this amazing person
changed my life and made me feel like I you know,
I really was good at what I did, and you know,
(54:51):
I I for the first time of my life through therapy.
Speaker 4 (54:54):
He said it, Henry Winkler, you're saying you're better.
Speaker 1 (54:56):
At this perspective. Rich.
Speaker 13 (54:58):
That's what we're talking about is finding somebody to give
you an objective perspective on what's going on in your
own head. You don't have to agree with your therapist,
but at least at least have the conversation.
Speaker 3 (55:11):
Talk things out, especially man, you need to talk out. No, no, men,
you don't know what you need to talk about. Men,
don't you have no idea?
Speaker 1 (55:17):
That's my kids.
Speaker 5 (55:18):
I come to work.
Speaker 1 (55:18):
I try to be a good husband, good dad. I don't.
I don't have these demons.
Speaker 4 (55:22):
Don't you say my agree?
Speaker 1 (55:23):
I don't agreement. I don't think rich needs therapy.
Speaker 3 (55:25):
I really don't like saying that guy everybody knows it
the most is the one who needs it the mom.
Speaker 4 (55:29):
But I really knowing Richard a few years.
Speaker 12 (55:31):
Listen, there's a lot of a pretty positive guy, well adjusted,
well to do people out there who maybe don't need it.
But there's a lot of like crappy people who don't
want to.
Speaker 1 (55:39):
Change, and they need it.
Speaker 3 (55:40):
Changings about talking things through. A lot of guys don't.
A lot of guys don't talk about open up to people, right,
but they can open up. Like Tony Soprano couldn't open
up to Pauline Walnuts, but so he he just needed
someone to talk to. So sometimes you just need someone
to bounce things off. That's not going to be a
judging person in your life, that's going to help you
through things, not give you the answers, but to talk
(56:02):
through things.
Speaker 1 (56:02):
But I'm talking about a friend like I have some friends.
And by the way, say I'm not against Rich.
Speaker 3 (56:06):
I actually agree with Rich too, because Rich and I
are in a unique situation where we speak about our
feelings every day.
Speaker 4 (56:14):
Everybody has that, But I'm talking.
Speaker 3 (56:18):
In addition to being vulnerable and talking about our insecurities
on the radio and TV for years and do what
we do. I do have friends that, as they say,
know where the skeletons are the bodies. But like I
have friends that know all the like wow you did that?
Oh you should have done. If you have some friends
that you could tell those harsh truths to, like yo, man,
I gotta tell you a story. It's I'm not proud
(56:39):
of myself for doing this. But if you have those
friends that know it all, I don't think everyone needs
their I bet you would help a lot of people
right point.
Speaker 13 (56:48):
As well adjusted, happy as you are, you are well adjusted,
generally happy, content or visual.
Speaker 1 (56:59):
Everyone think That's actually what I'm saying to you is
that therapy could make you even happier. But what if
it made me? What if all said in therapy hit
a switch that I didn't need, Like it was like,
what if that's not what self doubt or something? If
it's the thing with therapy, I think you have the
right person, Well that's that goes without saying right, so
(57:22):
if you open the door that is not one that
needs to be a lot because the person is not
the right therapy.
Speaker 13 (57:26):
This is not what we're talking about. We're not talking
about getting bad therapy. We're talking about getting the therapy
that he has a chance of having somebody who's objective,
who is going to help you.
Speaker 3 (57:34):
But maybe Richard, that's what we're talking said you said
therapy and meditation, right, meditation is also to meditate, and
he loses that like energetic way about him and now
he's like some zend out.
Speaker 1 (57:44):
That's not what meditation does not take your energy.
Speaker 12 (57:49):
Is like my energy is different than the therapist feels
you full of self doubt because they may make you
start thinking about things you never think.
Speaker 11 (57:56):
What does.
Speaker 1 (57:59):
That? Let me give you? Let me give you an analogy,
though what my therapist sucks? Will they get a new therapist.
But what if I don't need a therapist to begin with.
Speaker 3 (58:08):
I'll give you any analogy Howard Stern, if you if
you listen to the Stern Show back in the day
or now, Howard started when he started going to therapy,
which is a guy that needs therapy because he talks
about how his mom and dad never approved.
Speaker 1 (58:20):
I don't have that story. My family, middle class, normal people.
Let me ask you this though.
Speaker 3 (58:24):
Howard would always ask his guests like, well, tell me
about your.
Speaker 1 (58:29):
Robin, tell me about your brother or fathers. And there
were certain guests who was it.
Speaker 3 (58:33):
Was it a Kevin Hard or Someone's like, Howard, you're
going down like a road that like my family's fine,
Like some people don't need like there's nothing from their childhood.
Speaker 1 (58:43):
Tough dad.
Speaker 3 (58:44):
It was someone though that I remember being like, you're
you're trying to find something that's not there. Let me
I'll tell you one time. I did go to therapy
one time, and I'll tell you why. Before I got married,
I was dating a girl. We never got married, but
we lived together for years and we were hitting some
struggles right, and she had gone to a therapist. She
had some anxiety, she had some issues. Great girl, but
we were together a long time and I was like,
(59:05):
I don't know if I'm going.
Speaker 1 (59:05):
To marry this girl.
Speaker 3 (59:07):
We had just butted heads too much and I and
I wisely chose that it wasn't the right path. But
before we broke up, I was willing and opened to
go to a couples therapist, and I felt like I
came out of those sessions Mike winning, just because I
felt like I outsmarted the room. Because you have an
emotional person going to therapy and I would just be like,
I'm listening, I'm good, it's performative.
Speaker 1 (59:28):
I feel like therapy is also could be performed.
Speaker 4 (59:31):
That's because you're not more open to it.
Speaker 13 (59:34):
And you don't think that it's going to benefit that's
going to pretend, so everybody else thinks.
Speaker 3 (59:42):
Tis next week, they'll take your copay in the lobby.
And you brought up Howard Stern. He's big on TM,
on transcendental meditation. He talks about it all the time,
and you could see how therapy has changed his life
and his interviews completely.
Speaker 4 (59:59):
So it's a question, though, do you think everyone needs therapy?
Speaker 13 (01:00:03):
Really?
Speaker 1 (01:00:03):
Just you guys think he lost his edge.
Speaker 3 (01:00:08):
Maybe he's a better man, but his give a better interviewer, okay,
you know, and probably a better man. I think if
you're in high pressure situations, it can only benefit.
Speaker 4 (01:00:18):
Here's my take on it, and I can wrap it
up simply.
Speaker 3 (01:00:20):
I don't think it's going to hurt you in any
way if you're a high pressure situation at your job
and your relationship in sports, Like we said, I think
it can only help. I don't think it's gonna hurt.
Is it needed by everybody? I don't know what Mike
is saying that, Hey, you know, everyone should be doing
some form of meditation or therapy. What if what if
(01:00:40):
I went to therapists and like that, yeah, Covino is
not good for you. And also, all a sudden, I
was like, yeah, after twenty five making.
Speaker 13 (01:00:47):
This movie, you guys are making up these scenarios about
these evil or incompetent therapists. Like a psychiatrist I am
talking about good for Like what, it's a qualified professional.
Speaker 1 (01:01:00):
Everybody can keep Mike. It's just a way to keep
your head straight.
Speaker 3 (01:01:03):
But you're so against it that I'm almost like, what
is this guy hiding, Mike, Mike, what if the therapist
said something like so you're happy in your marriage or
are you I'm like, yeah, I'm really happy. He's like
they start, are you sure you're really happy? Like I
love my wife and everything's good. Like this is what
people who don't go to therapy think about therapy. That's
why everybody needs therapy, because that's not what happens. You know,
(01:01:25):
that's not what happens in the therapist office. Bring all
these questions out, as he asked clan like, you know what,
this is ridiculous. Three weeks ago, do you guys know
Jeff Lewis from Bravo and all that. Jeff Lewis Live.
He does a show on Serious Exam. He's on like
Radio Andy Right, and he's one of Andy Cohen's like
main guys. He has a big time show on Serious Exam.
(01:01:46):
And I guessed it on his show and he's like
sassy gay guy and.
Speaker 1 (01:01:49):
He's like, you know what you need? And I'm like what.
Speaker 3 (01:01:51):
He's like you, He's like, we should have you come
back in the show. You've never been to therapy. Oh
my god, they'd have a field day with you. I'm like,
what do you mean a field day?
Speaker 1 (01:01:58):
Like not everyone like you, Jeff. You sound scared, because
you have to be sound very scared of.
Speaker 4 (01:02:05):
Therapy a crazy person to benefit from therapy.
Speaker 3 (01:02:08):
By the way, I'm also a guy that's never benefited
from therapy ever, and I'm sure I could.
Speaker 4 (01:02:13):
I'm sure I could, but I've never met that right
person or anything.
Speaker 1 (01:02:16):
I don't like you.
Speaker 4 (01:02:17):
I'm not a kid at it, but I've been to
I've been a couple.
Speaker 1 (01:02:19):
Of couple's family all that time. And you said you've
never met nothing else.
Speaker 3 (01:02:23):
Ever said no, I've sat in therapy with my daughter,
never benefited from it.
Speaker 1 (01:02:27):
But I'm I'm open saying reach Rich treats therapy like
the trade of the gym can't help me, Like.
Speaker 13 (01:02:33):
Somebody's trying to convert him to homosexuality.
Speaker 1 (01:02:36):
Like that's what's going on right now.
Speaker 13 (01:02:37):
I'm afraid if he goes to therapy, somebody's gonna try
to convert him and make him evil.
Speaker 1 (01:02:42):
And I'm happy. And what he's talking about, I'm going
to leave my wife all of a sudden, I'm gay and.
Speaker 4 (01:02:47):
I break up a coup.
Speaker 1 (01:02:50):
Springer all of a sudden, Your guys, whole, Your guys
whole conversation made me flashback to this.
Speaker 7 (01:02:56):
Listen, we have some newcomers here today with say hello
to Scott and his father.
Speaker 1 (01:03:03):
Mister doctor El tell you he hello everybody. So Scott,
why do we start with you?
Speaker 3 (01:03:20):
What brings you here with us today?
Speaker 1 (01:03:23):
Well? I just really met my dad for the first
time five days ago. I was partially frozen his whole life.
That is beautiful that you can admit to that it
was this circle leader was Carrie Fisher, by the way,
I forgot about that.
Speaker 3 (01:03:37):
I want to joke and say, Rich just thinks he's
so great that he doesn't need it, right, That's all.
Speaker 4 (01:03:43):
I think.
Speaker 3 (01:03:43):
What you're saying is like, if things don't feel broke,
why I try to fix them? Like Rich is in
a pretty happy uh space, and things are going great
for him right now, and you know that's not the
case for most people. Listen, I just tell you I
do all the things everyone else does. I worry about
my parents' health, I worry about my kid's safety, I
go to work. I worry about oh money and supporting
my family. I think about all the things every normal
(01:04:09):
person thinks about. I don't think I need to sit
down with someone and be like, here's what I'm worried about.
Speaker 1 (01:04:14):
I feel like all you've done is prove my point. Rich,
Thank you very much.
Speaker 3 (01:04:16):
All right, hey, you know what another banger from another.
Kids in all sports imitate their favorite stars. You watch
a kid's playing flag football at seven, eight, nine, ten.
If you got little ones.
Speaker 1 (01:04:35):
When they're scoring a touchdown, they're casually dropping the ball,
pounding their chest, flexing, doing.
Speaker 3 (01:04:40):
Stuff they see in the NFL. Right, they get a
first down, they drop the ball and do it all
first down. If a kid plays basketball, right, what does
he do when he hits a three? He keeps it
up there right, or he does a little Jalen Brunson
or a little little Steph Curry. Kids will always imitate
their favorite stars. And baseball is all about the bat flip.
(01:05:01):
Baseball is all about showmanship. Now, I'm okay with to
but this kid went too far. That's why I mean,
you always say this, what happens at every party, every event?
Why why are stupid rules put into place? Because what
happens Everyone has one person that does what they go
too far? Everything right, like the neighbor ruin it for everybody.
One person drinks too much. One person does something where
(01:05:22):
they're like, all right, well we need to make a
rule Now there's always something. One parent says, something too much.
Sam at our twenty year anniversary, Like Sam partied so
hard he started taking his clothes off.
Speaker 4 (01:05:32):
Now we have to have a rule like keep your
clothes on it.
Speaker 1 (01:05:35):
I danced too hard, he overheated. I'll be honest.
Speaker 4 (01:05:40):
I saw a sign recently.
Speaker 3 (01:05:42):
I was at a gym in Texas when I went
to go visit my wife's family around the fourth of July.
I went to the I went to the gym on vacation.
That's a cup from Safe for Another Day. If this
was big al Delia, the kid that hated hit Dingers,
but back in the day, if he did it, yes,
I don't know that. I feel like I saw a
(01:06:03):
sign at the gym in Texas and it was like
on it it was like a little cartoon characters like
this is what you have to wear, And it was
clear that there must have been some girl that showed
up yes with like a thong and a sports prom
so they had to put up a sign like hey
at the gym here, we try to keep some family standards.
Speaker 1 (01:06:20):
The proper attire.
Speaker 3 (01:06:21):
If you're gonna wear like yoga shorts or something, ladies,
they should be blank and the you know, a sports
bra has to do a certain amount of coverage. You
know why they had to put that sign up because
what do you think one person did, probably showed up
with their cheeks out. Okay, so you're saying, now little
league or pony ball, whatever this is, has to put
some rules in place because of it.
Speaker 1 (01:06:40):
What do you think at our what.
Speaker 3 (01:06:41):
Do you think at our company holiday party they give
like one to two drink tickets because I guarantee at
one point someone had one too many cocktails and they're like,
you know what, we should probably limit it.
Speaker 1 (01:06:53):
Gave everyone like one to two tickets tops. Someone always
ruins it.
Speaker 3 (01:06:57):
And I'm not blaming a kid, but this will now,
I guarantee this this clip is where everyone's gonna be like,
all right, we've had enough. Come back on the celindary,
what about that throw because that's repressive. There's more aggressive
not defending it.
Speaker 1 (01:07:10):
But let me throw some exa you did that when
you were in little lew out a gentleman.
Speaker 3 (01:07:15):
This kid should have been thrown out of the game.
I would look, I didn't play that way, we didn't
play that way. It wasn't that way then, right, And
I think there's a balance and a compromise. Like Ridge said,
I agree, but I don't think it's that bad where
all this criticism is warranted, Like it's the most viral clip,
we're leading our show with it, it's all over social media.
But what if I'm just saying, what if this is hypothetical?
(01:07:35):
Keep back to like if it was a cute kid,
it would be different. No, no, I'm giving you a
real hypothetical now. So before I explained I'm not being
a contrarian. I just didn't think it was as bad
as people are making it out to be. But I
agree it's bad. This is just a pure hypothetical. And
maybe because every time clips go viral, there's always something
that comes up or follows it, and it's like, oh, well,
you know, we didn't know the whole story or we
(01:07:57):
didn't see the full clip. How do we know that
there was a kid on the mound that was taunting
him and maybe he was the big kid that seemed
unhittable and this kid got a lucky shot home run
once in a lifetime moment. Does that change your perspective
of oh man, maybe this kid's uh, you know, he's
not a real great achiever and this was his one
highlight of his life and he really got the best
(01:08:19):
of that picture. Who gives him a hard time? What
if you don't know the backstory, that doesn't change anything.
This is this is like, this is the level that
doesn't change anything. If I'm just saying if the picture
you're saying is a big kid that bullied him and
his kid at home at school, Yeah what that's impossible.
Speaker 1 (01:08:35):
So you.
Speaker 3 (01:08:37):
Don't always know everything. So hey, for all we know
this kid, this is his joy most joyous moment he's
ever had. Maybe he comes from a tough upbringing, so
you to be mad at eleven year old that behavior
is acceptable?
Speaker 1 (01:08:48):
If that kid bought him at school, yeah, I'm just
giving you possibility. Looks it looked like went past first
base and that kid doesn't look like that part is
crazy because it's one thing an aggressive bat flip, even slamming.
You saw the video a couple of months ago where
that kid slammed the bat down so hard it bounced
back up to his face. Okay, I get some aggressiveness
(01:09:11):
with the celebration of a bat flip, but when you
throw the bat like that he threw it unacceptable. Hey,
we're not going.
Speaker 3 (01:09:16):
Let's make this clear, none of us here in the
Fox Sports Radio studio whatever, teach our kids to behave
this way. This sportsman, there's a class. I'm saying, we
don't know the whole story. And he's still an eleven
year old. If you want to point the fingers, point
him at the professionals where he gets us from. Point
him at the parents who allows him to be the parents,
about the coaches.
Speaker 1 (01:09:37):
Point parents have no people.
Speaker 4 (01:09:39):
To be bullying an eleven year old.
Speaker 3 (01:09:41):
The way they are on social media, I think is
absurd because they're learning it from adults. Monkey see, monkey do,
Like we as adults have to take accountability. You're like,
I'm frustrated with my daughter ninety percent of the time,
but I have to look at myself and take some
accountability and like, well, she gets it from somewhere and
it's probably me or her mom, her mom most of
the time, you know what I mean. Like, it's not
(01:10:02):
fair always to blame these kids. This kid's little. It's
it's coaching, right, I mean, like, if you're coaching a
bunch of little kids. The first side, like when my
kids celebrate that I coach, I love it. I encourage them.
Speaker 1 (01:10:16):
A kid hits a big hit or scores, jump on him,
hit him on the helmet, have some fun.
Speaker 12 (01:10:20):
But your first your first, uh priority should just be
getting to base, like unless I guess it's a home run.
Speaker 3 (01:10:26):
In the home but really, if a kid hit a
home run on my line is very because he's shouting
and looks aggressive. That's where the line is. If he
was smiling and cheering like Joe Carter, then then it
wouldn't be a viral video.
Speaker 1 (01:10:37):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (01:10:38):
If when the first kid on my team hits a
home run, which will probably happen when they're seven or eight,
like there'll be a kid that puts one out. If
some kid finally hits one over the fence their first
home run and they flip their back, yeah, and they
like are super enthusiastics, enthusiastic, and their teammates are jumping
on him, patting them on the helmet, that's awesome. This
was not even resemble. It's just a grotesque showing up. Yeah,
(01:11:02):
this is like, Yeah, people could see it now. Ye
will save you the time. Just join us on YouTube.
You can watch the show. You can see the clips.
Spotty's Got It on standby at YouTube YouTube dot com
slash at Covino and rich fs. So if he's such
a youngster that I don't really blame him. I blame
the coaches for letting this build up because any sign
(01:11:22):
and you know, I'm not the only dad coach, and
there's millions, there's millions.
Speaker 1 (01:11:25):
Of peer coach, Rich, how would you reprimand them? There's
millions of people listening to Fox Sports Radio and any Johnson?
Speaker 3 (01:11:31):
Can I address Jones one nine nine? Not defending this kid.
What I'm saying is you don't know the whole story.
You don't so we're coming down on an eleven year old.
Speaker 1 (01:11:41):
Well that's what I just said. I don't think a
kid is the one to be taking the brunt of this.
Speaker 3 (01:11:46):
But it happened, meaning he made it all the where
on the basements without a coach being like, hey, go
like look, where's the where's the discipline?
Speaker 4 (01:11:56):
Where someone thought this is okay?
Speaker 5 (01:11:58):
Right?
Speaker 3 (01:11:58):
Like when I see when I see any of the
kids I coach get aggressive or get mean or bullying
another kid.
Speaker 1 (01:12:05):
Or even on their own team, I'm like, that's not acceptable.
This right here, dude, how do we know that this
is even real?
Speaker 5 (01:12:14):
Real?
Speaker 1 (01:12:14):
How do we know that.
Speaker 12 (01:12:15):
They just didn't state, like when are you allowed to
go out on the diamond and like film someone he's following.
Speaker 1 (01:12:20):
The whole time.
Speaker 3 (01:12:21):
They didn't say, hey, everybody, everybody know how about they
were like as a drill, everybody for fun, do their
best flashy bat flip home run.
Speaker 12 (01:12:30):
But that's the problem because he's surrounded by adults and
they enabled this behavior, and it's it's grotesque.
Speaker 1 (01:12:36):
Danny, we can't beat right, Sam.
Speaker 3 (01:12:37):
Sam Cavino made the only exception if it was like
an after practice, right, let's say it's after practice. Practice
is over. Hey, good practice, kids, go get some water. Hey,
you know, if you want to stay, let's do who
would do the most crazy like home run trot? And
we just happened to see footage of some like after
practice silly shenanigans. Yeah, then all of a sudden, we're
(01:12:59):
all all wrong.
Speaker 1 (01:13:01):
I'm sorry, Rich.
Speaker 12 (01:13:02):
Okay, but you decided to release it to the public,
and you probably knew what was going to be the reaction.
Speaker 1 (01:13:07):
They just told us all the blame patrolling is not acceptable.
Speaker 12 (01:13:10):
We watched it, we reacted. Maybe we're also to blame,
but this is not If you whether this is stage
are legit? It's bad either way.
Speaker 1 (01:13:17):
And by the way, I went frame for frame in
the billboard beyond the fence, the outfield fence, it says
it's it's in Spanish. So this looks like And I
was talking to Greg Twoey, Cowherd's producer earlier today because
I saw him and Jay stew everyone. Yes, he said,
it looks like it's from It looks like it's from
(01:13:37):
a different country.
Speaker 3 (01:13:38):
You know when celebrations are different, it's culturally different. Hey, people,
and I just came back from Korea. It's a completely
different atmosphere, completely different set of rules, completely different way
of game, especially in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico
and places like that. And Damian Andrew, wait, there's a
guy flirting with me here. Rich I just want to
(01:14:00):
let him know I have a girlfriend. Damian, I'm taking
buddy saying some mean stuff. By the way, is that
why you got the Kim John Moon haircut? You just
came back from Korea?
Speaker 1 (01:14:07):
Yeah, okay, he wasn't in North Korea. It was a
two for one. You never would have come back.
Speaker 4 (01:14:12):
We went together.
Speaker 1 (01:14:13):
This guy said about you, how about you pull up
your own feedback.
Speaker 4 (01:14:15):
You're tweebis how about you interact and do your own thing?
Speaker 1 (01:14:18):
He set out of my face.
Speaker 3 (01:14:19):
He said, you get worse showed by show. Meanwhile he
keeps listening, so thank you. No what I'm doing a
tough guy with a microphone. What I'm saying is I
don't think it's as bad as that as people are
making it out to be. It's bad, but is it
as bad as people are making it out?
Speaker 1 (01:14:39):
He called you buleg Mary Olmpez.
Speaker 4 (01:14:42):
I would just making stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:14:44):
I would love to see him and measy two o
six says spot please show it again. I just joined
from hearing you guys on the radio. You would think
you would think that this kid got the home plate
and stabbed somebody the way people are, but.
Speaker 12 (01:14:55):
It's no different than a viral video of some kid
having a meltdown in public and no one does thing
about it, or like that kid, the video of a
mom who's like filming her daughter. She's like, no, no,
you got to put the eggs in first before this,
and then she tells her to like go her self,
and you're like, and then the kids just get away
with this.
Speaker 3 (01:15:10):
But you know what, so like, we're so hypocritical. This
is a little boy, right, he has plenty of time
to learn. But everybody's okay with how young people are
talking on social media and on TV and on Love Island.
The things that people open up about are vile, vile,
the things that people say and put out there, and they.
Speaker 1 (01:15:35):
I have hold on.
Speaker 4 (01:15:36):
Not to sound corny, but there's a girl from Love Island.
Speaker 1 (01:15:39):
It's called Decory.
Speaker 3 (01:15:40):
She was on call her daddy and she says the
most vile things that you pray every night for your
daughter to never say publicly.
Speaker 1 (01:15:46):
But we're okay with.
Speaker 4 (01:15:48):
This, and we applaud it.
Speaker 3 (01:15:49):
We're like, oh yeah, you don't get them. Hold on,
we can't say that. Yeah, we're so every that's fine
and we're cool with that. And everyone's taking her clothes
off for the internet. But this kid celebading a home run.
It's the worst thing I've ever seen hit by that
bat bonkers and hypocritical. Dude, two things could be true. No, no, no,
because no one's saying that's bad. Everyone's saying that's okay.
(01:16:10):
You think people are saying that's okay. Yeah, everyone's liking
it watching. I guess Sam I saw the clip. Could
he just speaks of there's a girl from Love Islands.
Speaker 1 (01:16:20):
What's your name?
Speaker 4 (01:16:21):
Kenzie?
Speaker 3 (01:16:22):
Kenzie, like the popular Love Island girl. She's like, I'm
just a regular girl from Georgia. And she thanked Alex Cooper,
who hosts call her Daddy. She goes, because of you,
I know how to beep a guy and beat beep all.
She's like, because of you and start saying those vulgar
things that she.
Speaker 1 (01:16:36):
Learned with us.
Speaker 4 (01:16:37):
And I'm like, oh, qualms or any hesitation?
Speaker 1 (01:16:40):
What's you?
Speaker 3 (01:16:41):
And everyone say, yeah, that's the best, Yeah, all this stuff,
but this kid's celebrating home runs the worst thing on
the internet.
Speaker 12 (01:16:48):
Stay toxic, stay petty, No, don't be toxic. Don't be petty,
because it.
Speaker 4 (01:16:52):
Makes it's not the mathing math thing. Guys, as they.
Speaker 3 (01:16:55):
Say, I'm sorry, you're allowed to say young teens and
twenties have lost away and also say that this home
runs a bit much for an eleven year old and.
Speaker 4 (01:17:02):
Not be so bun at least kid's eleven.
Speaker 12 (01:17:05):
He adults are supposed to set the tones.
Speaker 4 (01:17:09):
We as people right need to stop rewarding awful behavior.
Speaker 1 (01:17:13):
Period. Did you say we the people?
Speaker 13 (01:17:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:17:15):
And that means like stop blowing smoke up, Hey, Thomas Jefferson,
people's profiles and liking terrible things and stop feeding into
terrible algorithms, And yeah, we shouldn't be uplauding this kid,
no question.
Speaker 1 (01:17:27):
Just flash.
Speaker 12 (01:17:27):
There's a lot of bad people out, but there's a
lot of terrible Why is this kid bankrupt people?
Speaker 1 (01:17:33):
I get what you're you're Quino saying.
Speaker 3 (01:17:34):
In a world of smut and people making terrible decisions
on the deli, we focus on this one kid pimping
a home run.
Speaker 4 (01:17:40):
Yeah, you would think that he committed a murder in
the dugout right after.
Speaker 1 (01:17:44):
But in the in the world.
Speaker 3 (01:17:45):
You know what it is though, I think people look
at this poor kid and say, this is a reflection
of where kids are going with sports, because there's already
the sentiment that kids are like kids are playing too
much sports. They don't stop travel ball, this ball, club ball.
On top of that, they need every piece of equipment,
every bat, every sliding glove, and they're and they're behaving
like this.
Speaker 1 (01:18:05):
I know it goes with the whole narrative. You're you're
the coach of your son's team, if his son.
Speaker 3 (01:18:13):
Coach, what do you think about Like the bullpen coach.
If you're manager and show voted a little too much,
he would never do this. But if he showed it
a little too much, what would you tell him a bit?
Speaker 1 (01:18:22):
Buddy, We don't.
Speaker 3 (01:18:22):
That's not you know, That's not how we play the game.
That's how we play the game. Man, you gotta be
a little general. I always tell the boys class. I
always tell the boys respect. You want to be a
little gentleman, sportsman ship. Yeah, those things never go out
of stocktlem. I like them cheering, and I like, you
know what, guys they're also looking from. I think the
NYG made a solid, solid point that only backs up
what I'm saying here. And I'm not taking his kid's side,
(01:18:43):
But did we not just watch the World Baseball Classic?
And doesn't it seem like all the Latin nations celebrate
a little different than the American names. You're looking through
American eyes, and that's not where they're playing, and that's
not how the culture is. So you're you're projecting your
American are American culture on this little Hispanic kid who
doesn't even play in this country. Apparently our American culture
(01:19:04):
is ranch dressing. I learned that over the lest No,
but I mean, wasn't there a stark difference of how
people celebrate?
Speaker 1 (01:19:09):
Of course, the World Baseball Classic was so much more
fun ball.
Speaker 3 (01:19:12):
Let me ask Big Poppy how he feels about that. Listen,
you know why are we asking uh Johnny Americana? Ask
ask Many Ramirez how he feels it's Friday? Relax, dude,
Like I said, it's not adding up. We're all we're
all piling on an eleven year old.
Speaker 1 (01:19:31):
Isaac Tell him to relax? Do I have to?
Speaker 6 (01:19:34):
He's got that, he's got that captivating haircut.
Speaker 3 (01:19:37):
I mean it's called the uh the o. But I
agree with you that why are we being so hard
on this kid? Forget about the kid. I think what
everyone's saying is really coaches, you're allowing this. You know
what's even more disgusting if you're in the algorithm moment, Dude,
Now you're going to tell people in other countries how
they should play the game like you. If that's what
I'm saying, If you have a similar algorithm to me,
(01:20:00):
it's a lot of butt cheeks and a lot of sports.
And among those sports clips, I see a heck of
a lot of coaching flaws where you see like coaches
getting thrown out by umpires, coaches fighting other coaches. It's
a really like eye rolling competitive, gross world. In kids
sports out there, you see the worst in people sometimes.
(01:20:21):
And I think we could all assess this by saying
that kid's so young. The fact that coaches and parents
allowed it, that's what the problem. I think, Danny g
we really need to get to the bottom of where
this takes place.
Speaker 1 (01:20:33):
Right, it looks like.
Speaker 3 (01:20:36):
It could be Mexico, all right, And guess what other
countries party differently, They celebrate differently, they cheer victories differently.
We see it, so why are we surprised if this
is another country that's what they accept this different So
now we're just expecting him to behave like a little
kyler does on your little league team.
Speaker 12 (01:20:56):
I'm all about accepting cultural differences, but this is gross
and I'm sorry, it's just not be taught this way.
And I'm like, little kids should be able to be
joyful and cheerful, and you know, but they need to
be kept in boundaries because they don't know where the
boundaries are until they get older.
Speaker 3 (01:21:09):
Yeah, but in other countries this is a way of life.
But you think in any society in any culture of
what that kid did was should be like, No, I'm
a nice American boy, Rich, I don't agree with that.
Speaker 1 (01:21:23):
I have an update for you. I feel like Pablo
Tori investigating. So the first search of that billboard company
comes up for Mexico, but as I dug deeper and
entered a phone number in some search sites, Santo Domingo
comes up. So at least that company advertising electronics equipment
is Dominican Republic. So that's where this looks like.
Speaker 3 (01:21:43):
It's from where the little kid hit the home run
and he's obnoxiously celebrating.
Speaker 4 (01:21:47):
We all agree on that it took place in the
Dominican Republic.
Speaker 3 (01:21:50):
So why are we projecting our American values, in our
American way of the game on a bunch of little
Dominican kids that grow up playing and watching a completely
different game, That's all I'm saying, Like, why do we
expect little Cruise here to be celebrating the way little uh,
little Tyler does in the US, two completely different cultures.
(01:22:11):
Little puppy, Yeah, why do we expect little Poppy, Baby Poppy,
little puppet to be celebrating like the little.
Speaker 4 (01:22:19):
Boy Dave Riches did. David Calabas.
Speaker 12 (01:22:22):
Did David Ortiz do this stuff though in the majors?
Speaker 3 (01:22:24):
I don't know, but guess what, they all do it
and we see it and we see the different styles
of play when other cultures and countries are involved.
Speaker 4 (01:22:31):
So why are we, you know, coming down on a
little boy? Do I agree with it?
Speaker 3 (01:22:35):
No? But I'm looking through my American eyes and how
i'd raise my kid. It's not my kid and he's
not playing in this country. Congratulations, you were able to
somehow find an angle where this is acceptable. We mean
an angle You're just jumping at a little kid. I'm
not jumping as it's not an angle. I'm just saying,
does this warrant? Like like the kid committed a crime?
You're more mad. You're more mad about this kid than
(01:22:58):
the actual broadcaster was cheat on his girlfriend and San Antolio.
He didn't commit a crime. Okay, believe it of this kid,
but I'm not. I guess the game of baseball does that.
I just think it's unacceptable. You get a five steams
coming at your ears, You're being like ridiculous, Like I'm
not mad, like even a little bit. I'm almost saying,
like why is everybody ganging up on one little kid
all over the internet.
Speaker 1 (01:23:19):
Who cares?
Speaker 12 (01:23:20):
People do so much more vile, terrible stuff all over
We never would have known about this if the person
didn't film it. So the person filmed it. Does anyone
agree with this kid? Absolutely not.
Speaker 4 (01:23:32):
I would never do that. Guess what.
Speaker 3 (01:23:33):
I hit twenty seven Little league home runs never celebrated
like that, So I'm not defending it. And if you, guys,
if I just slam dunked on all your stupid points,
don't get mad at me. Oh and that goes to
all the feedback that's coming into of those lit league
home runs, have anything where like errors are inside the park,
nuns all over the fence, not one because inside the
park litter league home runs don't count. If if it
(01:23:55):
just keeps rolling there was always a fence. What kind
of weak ass little league did you play it?
Speaker 1 (01:24:00):
Steve?
Speaker 4 (01:24:00):
There's no video of this, there's what do you mean
you think like the ball just kept rolling that?
Speaker 1 (01:24:05):
No, No, we believe you.
Speaker 4 (01:24:06):
We certainly believe he doesn't count.
Speaker 1 (01:24:08):
There's a newspaper clipping. I saw it. He's not online.
Speaker 12 (01:24:10):
Yeah, Steve, coming one of them over the fence?
Speaker 1 (01:24:17):
Catch a program?
Speaker 3 (01:24:20):
Did you see Tom Brady slapping Logan Paul, and it
was Carl Anthony Towns who was like in between them.
Now you could say staged, but he still hit him,
you know what I'm saying. Like you could be like, oh,
it's a it's a gimmick maybe w WWE or just
for you know, social media clicks, and it's, you know,
all fun. But Tom Brady looked mad and he did
(01:24:41):
slap Logan Paul. Now again, if it's fake, it's good,
good acting. It's totally fake at least that's yeah, I'd
imagine what we have to think. But Tom Brady did
a good job of faking it. He looked like he
looked mad.
Speaker 12 (01:24:55):
He was like King Lawler slapping Andy Kaufman on Dave Letterman.
Speaker 4 (01:25:00):
It was like, now more like Will Smith. I think
that was real.
Speaker 1 (01:25:04):
Did you ever see the best late night slap? I was, Sam,
this is back in the day.
Speaker 12 (01:25:10):
Are you talking about no, Jerry Lawler slapping Andy Kaufman?
Speaker 1 (01:25:13):
No, no, No, I'm talking about I'm talking about uh
Mark Summers from Double Dare.
Speaker 3 (01:25:19):
Who slapped him again. Filling the blank for me, How
do you bring up a story in that? No, because
Burt Reynolds, Bert Reynolds. Burt Reynolds just is not enjoying.
Speaker 4 (01:25:29):
Isaac.
Speaker 1 (01:25:30):
You've ever seen the cliff?
Speaker 6 (01:25:31):
I vaguely remember it, but I grew up loving Double
Dare and Mark Summers. Why would Burt Reynolds do that?
Speaker 4 (01:25:36):
Because Mark Renolds took the physical challenge.
Speaker 3 (01:25:38):
Burt Reynolds, he pulled the nose, He pulled the flag
out of the nose and slide down the Sunday slide.
Speaker 1 (01:25:44):
No, Mark Summers was being all silly and fun.
Speaker 3 (01:25:46):
Burt Reynolds wasn't having it, and like they had like
a physical altercation on the Late Night Show.
Speaker 1 (01:25:52):
Yeah, it was wild, it was awkward. Look it up,
all right, let's get into brain Wave. Let's do it.
Speaker 5 (01:25:57):

the rules quickly. The first one through, by the way,
thank you for all the calls coming in. But the

them to be the champ walk away with that cn
OUR Summer Grillin Apron Prize pack. I'm going to ask
a question and give three debatable answers to choose from
the six of us on the show. Here are going
to write down our answers on these dry erase boards
for our YouTube channel, and then on the counter of three,
Tom shouts his answer out He's got a match with
four of the six of us to get the round

You, Sick Freed and Roy coming over for visitors.
Speaker 1 (01:27:43):
Let's give me those uncles. Which beast running towards you
would scare you more? A bison, a rhino, or a hippo?
Which beast running towards you would scare you more? A
bison obviously topical, I know, or a hippo. All right,
(01:28:04):

Tom on the count of three, one, two, three, says
Bison Steve Covino. We start with you.
Speaker 3 (01:28:19):
Well, we saw what happens. You get flown and flung
into the air, but you survive. A hippo you might
not survive. They have the strongest bike in the wild.
Speaker 1 (01:28:27):
Kingdom, Rich Davis, You guys ever see the movie Along
Came Polly? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:28:32):

say you, I've got a rhino.
Speaker 4 (01:28:52):
I don't want to say, yeah, you don't want to
human sc is right.
Speaker 1 (01:28:56):
Yeah, I'm surprised at you all. I'm going with like bison. Okay,
Unfortunately he's mathematically out of it. I said, hippo. I
agree with CNR. Yeah, hippos are some mean mother efforts.
And what'd you say, Sam? You know, hippo might be faster.
But I did go with the topical animal, a bison.
(01:29:18):
My little doodle there, prisoner of the moment. It looks
like a unicorn without a head. I mean five seconds.
Speaker 4 (01:29:26):
Okay, it's wild to see the strength of the bison
when you see it.
Speaker 12 (01:29:29):
You know, hippo are terrifying as well.
Speaker 1 (01:29:32):
Yeah, all right, we go to round two. I took it.
They were they were They picked the bison because of
just a recent memory of yeah, there we go. The
rest of it was a hippo violation. Round Round two.
Round two of sports and this is topical. We were
just talking about one of these dudes who gives you,
as a sports fan more fatigue. Aaron Rodgers Lebron James
(01:29:56):
or Dion Sanders gives you, as a sports fan more
fatigue a Rod, Lebron or Dion locked All right, we're
all right in our answers. Hold on now, hold on,

Speaker 13 (01:30:24):
Well, I gotta go Aaron Rodgers because you had a
clock on him.
Speaker 1 (01:30:27):
Says Aaron Rodgers. We go in reverse order. Iowa, Samuel,
I'm a Packer fan.
Speaker 12 (01:30:32):
He won the Packers of Super Bowl, so I went
with exhausting James.
Speaker 1 (01:30:38):
Exhausting very close between Rogers and Lebron, I said, Lebron,
all right, Ilo.
Speaker 6 (01:30:48):
Rogers, I'm not immune to being bored by him or whatever?
Speaker 7 (01:30:55):

Speaker 1 (01:31:02):
Rich day is I wanted to.
Speaker 3 (01:31:04):

We talked a lot about Aaron Rodgers. But Lebron James
right now is exhaust He's exhausting, would you say?
Speaker 4 (01:31:14):
Cove Rich and I are on the same brainwave.
Speaker 3 (01:31:17):
We even wore boxing shirts today without even discussing it
for no reason. So yeah, we agree. Lebron James just
dominates headlines. So does Aaron Rodgers, but Lebron even more.
Speaker 12 (01:31:26):
Okay, Lebron's Aaron Rodgers is a close second.
Speaker 4 (01:31:29):
He is a close sector.
Speaker 1 (01:31:30):
It's all right, Tom, we still have rounds three through
five here. Let's go to relationships. What's the biggest sign
your relationship is healthy. You laugh together often, you can
disagree without fighting, or you genuinely enjoy doing nothing together.
One more time. Yeah, the biggest sign your relationship is healthy.
You laugh together often, you can disagree without fighting, or
(01:31:53):
you genuinely enjoy doing nothing together.
Speaker 6 (01:31:56):
That didn't contain one of the choices I was anticipating, all.
Speaker 1 (01:32:02):
Right, I don't think it all right now? One more
one more time, Okay, biggest, biggest sign your relationship is healthy.
You laugh together often, you can disagree without fighting, or
you genuinely enjoy doing nothing together. All right, we're all
right in our answers. Down. I think you know, if
(01:32:24):
you really think about it, there's an obvious answer. It
says you one of the choices. All right, everybody locked in, Yes,
lockul Tom on the count of three, one two, three,
Man this is a fifty.
Speaker 5 (01:32:39):

He says, you genuinely enjoy doing nothing together, Steve Covino,
we start with you, Tom.
Speaker 4 (01:32:48):
You and I are on the same brain wave.
Speaker 5 (01:32:49):
Man.
Speaker 3 (01:32:49):
There's just no pressure there, you know, no no pressure
to entertain. You're comfortable in each other's presence.
Speaker 12 (01:32:56):
That cod lot spelled it e capital jail and enjoy,
enjoy and joy joy doing nothing.
Speaker 1 (01:33:04):
It's because he hung out with the fauns.
Speaker 4 (01:33:06):
And this emphasis on joy.
Speaker 1 (01:33:08):
All right, Rich.
Speaker 3 (01:33:09):
Davis, you could you could hang out with someone and
feel no pressure. But that means you can just be
in a boring marriage or relationship. So that's not the answer.
What was What was the second one?
Speaker 15 (01:33:17):
Again?
Speaker 1 (01:33:17):
There disagreeing without fighting. The first one laughed together often,
you can.
Speaker 3 (01:33:21):
Make anyone laugh. You could be in a relationship with
someone laugh a lot but still be terrible for each other.
If you could disagree, be at odds.
Speaker 1 (01:33:28):
But still without it turning into a fight.
Speaker 3 (01:33:30):
Without yeah, exactly, disagreeing without turning into big fights is
so key.
Speaker 1 (01:33:34):
That's the obvious one.
Speaker 7 (01:33:35):

brainwave as Rich on this one. I said, disagree without
it turning into a fight. Oh man, what'd you say? Sam?
Speaker 12 (01:34:03):
He can't win it though, right, oh you can't. But
one of you, I said, do nothing. Come on, man,
he's just looking around.
Speaker 1 (01:34:12):
All right, It's all right. He's got to just win
the next two rounds here. It's been done before in
this game. Alright, round four, finish, man, Just like let's go,
