my twenty three feedback, I know it's at least seventy
eighty percent. Okay, fair, fair, You're right? I was way
country is that Covino annoying? I don't know whatever country
it is? Rich is the president?
Speaker 1 (00:37):
Annoya? Is that the country of? Like? Annoyeva Rich? It
might be the king of that country. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
So anyway, I'm Steve Covino. That's a Dusty card Dinkleman,
Rich Davis.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
What's up?
Speaker 1 (00:46):
Buddy?
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Danny G's our super producer. Didn't you who's on that
shirt today? Brood?
Speaker 3 (00:51):
You blind me?
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Nice?
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Nice?
Speaker 2 (00:56):
And of course Iowa Sam speaking of shirts, Wow, you
gotta go to our YouTube page just to see it.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
You want to take a bite out of him?
Speaker 2 (01:01):
He got a summary fruit on it and of course
the kron is here and we be rocking out.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Let's go. You always want to take a bite out
of the crown.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
What's up, Isaac, He's got some Bayside High radio shirt on.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
Don't think I didn't notice that sweet shirt.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
Glad you noticed by the way. I thought you had
seen each other's junk.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
No, no, no, no no.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
That was secret to our success.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
We almost did one time closest time true story knocking
in on the bathroom. Can I tell that story? The
cliff notes. We were talking to two girls in our
single days. Let's just say I ended up back in
a hotel room with one of them. The other one
somehow left caveno behind and ended up entering the room
with another dude, and I had no clothes on. So
(01:41):
it was close.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Rich says.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Somehow as if I was like inferior in the moment,
But it was because she wanted drugs and I'm not
that kind of guy, So I was like later and
she ended up with some other schlub.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
Yeah, the girl that I was didn't want drugs.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
She just wanted me. I was her drugs. I had
it gone for further. She was going to get drugs
after or she had you.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Yeah, yeah, I told her this one thing.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
This was in our twenties. Of course.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
So it's a rule on the show if there's ever
a stupid story that you tell, you could always get
away with it by saying, ah, I was in my
twenties unless you did something terrible, right. Usually, so I'm Cavino.
That is Rich And thank you guys for being here.
I hope you had a Jim Abbott sort of night.
What a beautiful moment for a guy that we've always
loved and respected. Our buddy coach Ballgame has a beautiful
(02:25):
moment with him.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
Well, like last year, like an.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Event in front of a bunch of children, and then
last night on the big stage. Well, his story's so inspirational.
That's why I coached Ballgame, who's known and has been
on the show, but known for teaching kids throughout America.
He's like the world's number one little kid coach. And
of course Rich is a close second. But he uses
Jim Abbott's story as a story of inspiration. And he
(02:52):
was acknowledged last night at the SP's and made a
really nice speech. I thought it was great, and he
doesn't want to be known for that, but he was
proudly accept the award, and to me that was the highlight.
Of course, Marcelo Hernandez and Fernando Mendoza had a few. Yeah,
funny Melman, there's Mike Tyson MoMA.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
We'll go over all that.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
But could I start the show with something not sports related? Yes,
only because it's on my mind and I you know me,
I can't focus if I have something else on my mind.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
I very rarely get like the deluxe car.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Wash, like the primo package, like I'm I'm the guy
that drives through the gas station car washer like twelve bucks.
I'm that guy, admittedly, so I know that's a crappy
car wash.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
But Danny g you have a nice car.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
I feel like you do you spend some bucks I'm
a nice car wash here in there, or you do
it yourself.
Speaker 5 (03:37):
Yeah, down the street from where I live, a few
streets away, there's a touchless car wash, and that's what
you're supposed to use because you take pride in your car. Yeah,
you don't want the swirls on your paint.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
I'm saving my disgust for later. I've already heard the story.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
I know how he rolls, and like he gets the
gas station car wash, like that's why he's got dirty sneakers.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
He doesn't care it's so big, dirty brush all over
his car.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
But I told him I got to I get my
car washed like every two or three weeks. He was
like dumbfounded. I was like, yeah, because I try to
keep my car clean. He told me with a straight
face that he hasn't gotten a.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
Car wash in years.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
No. But when I say he expect me to be
like a sure man, I understood when I say imber.
When I say I haven't got a car wash in
two years, Sam, I mean like drop it off. They
do all the fix insta later. And that's for the
weak ass cars. Bro have some prime. What about wash
your own? What about self served? Do you guys ever
do that? Or is that even lower on your on
(04:32):
the sho that's not even twelve dollars worth? Smaller car
washes at the shell station. Isn't that where Isaac takes
an extra shower? Here there at that self serve car wash?
I love doing it myself. I love the soap coming
out of the brush and I get.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
That baby all that's fine.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
But my point is he ain't go get your car washed.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
B I feel like the car wash.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Is one of the few places where sometimes they have
you by the huevos and you don't even know it,
much like you know, where are the places in life
you could still negotiate, Like a farmer's market. I don't know,
you're you're in a foreign country.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
In a little street caland haggling.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
Yeah, like a mattress store when you're buying a new car.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
I'd love to haggle everywhere. I'm like marvelous Marvin Haggler
would yeah, Cavino, Yeah, he'll be like I think these
chocoal cover rais should be cheaper.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
Yeah, I'll give you two.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
I'm sure you're at Ralph's.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
That's the price. I really do.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
I think you can haggle at most places except for like, yes,
super market, like mattress stores. This even car dealerships, though
now with like your phone.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
That not negotiation.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Yeah, the the negotiating, negotiating and haggling is a thing
of the past. But I got caught off guard and
did like a sucker thing. I feel like, oh no,
so I look at the board and would you agree.
A lot of car washes menus aren't that clear.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
Yes, they're like street signs.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
It's like it's like a New York City parking side
in the parking six to eight am, but on their days.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
They're always trying to upsell.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
I was like, wait a minute, a hand wash is
twenty three dollars, but like the deluxe thing is three
dollars for the green foam is five dollars more, for
the blue foam ten dollars more. And then if you
want the green foam at the top of it, fifteen
extrada and then and none of it does anything. And
I'm like, it's talking about like there's four different types
(06:20):
of polishes and waxes. And then he asked me a question,
and I just want to tell everyone the only reason
I bring this up is because I want to warn
you not to say what I said or answer. He goes,
hold on, now we go there. I'm looking at the
hand washed, the deluxe thing. He goes, well, what are
you looking to spend?
Speaker 1 (06:38):
And I'm the.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Idiot that answered that question, because that's never when you're
at a car dealership. This is just a warning to everyone.
Never answer the question, well what are you looking for
your monthly payment to be, because then they could negotiate.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
They could.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
Do your little calculations sound effect, Samoop, They could just
make it that they'll they'll and in taxes and the
down payment'll be more. You know, never answer the question
how much are you looking to pay? Because that's a
fool's answer. And I said, I don't know. Fifty to
one hundred bucks?
Speaker 6 (07:11):
Is that like when you get pulled over and the
cop asked you, do you know how fast you're going?
You always say I was going to speed them at
sixty five? Yeah, and you were really doing like eighty one.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
In Rich's defense, when I hear the story, he did
catch you off guard. But I keep that in mind.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
Whatever the price is, what's the set price?
Speaker 1 (07:26):
He's like?
Speaker 2 (07:27):
He says, he's like eighty BLUs eighty bucks plus tax
I could do such inside and that's what he's doing.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
How about film menu? No more?
Speaker 2 (07:33):
How about nothing? Can I give you a page out
of my dad's book?
Speaker 7 (07:37):
Hey?
Speaker 3 (07:37):
How about I give you fifty dollars k cash means
nothing anything.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
I know.
Speaker 6 (07:41):
I can still get discounts on tires at some places
around here if you do offer cash catch money.
Speaker 5 (07:46):
In our chat, Scott for Mayor says, you know, rain
is free. Yeah, I'm sure, Rich. It doesn't rain here
for seven months.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Out here you need.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Two days a year.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
And by the way, for the record, I get my
car washed about every two weeks and three weeks max.
Like give me a break, keep it in a garage,
but still gets dusty. You have a birds Every black
car doesn't matter, that's right, yours is immune to dust,
pollen and birds. A white car around. Your black cars
are the worst for showing dirt because any little dust.
(08:16):
It's fifty dollars hand wash, so you don't destroy your
car with those brushes and everything. And again, prices are relative.
We're here in Los Angeles, so fifty dollars may sound
a lot to you, but fifty dollars hand wash is
reasonable here. Plus you tip the guy and that's it.
But you gotta keep your shoes clean, keep your car clean.
Keep do I have to remind you keep your ass clean?
(08:37):
Dude wipes like you gott are talking to.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
Car Rich, how much does your haircut cost?
Speaker 1 (08:46):
Like sixty bucks?
Speaker 6 (08:48):
I was gonna say, Cove, do you go by like
the two to three week week rule with your haircuts,
your car wash and changing your bed sheets?
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Is that is that you follow that, like the trifecta
right there.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
They probably suggest when it comes to your bed sheets,
especially depending on what you're doing in there, more than
that than that, But I think that's bunny fair. But
i'd imagine Sam, as far as bed sheets go, do
you remember back in the college days you would have
buddies that would change your bed sheets, like once a semester,
that grimy friend you had.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
We're like, yeah, dude, you're discussed.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
They're the same kids who never brought their pe clothes
home to wash exactly, they.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
Say, you thinky Sullivan, they smell like free dozen cornschips
in their locker. Wash your car, dude, And the reason
Rich even has this car it is because we got
on him so hard today.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
And this is like yearly appearance at the car wash.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
Again.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
I get those cheap shell gas station twelve dollars, and
I know the Rich is just saying a detail, like
a detail. Yeah, once a year, once every summer, once
every few years. Rich is saying a straight up just
like car wash. Otherwise he runs it through the gas
station every once in a.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
While, also called the car wash.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
It's not a good call, the poor man's car wash, dude,
I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
Everybody says it once in a while, but if you
have a nice car, if you have a nice car, I'm.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
Sorry, what do you drive?
Speaker 2 (09:57):
You have a pretty nice PMWA, you're putting it through
the random that's like an emergency car wash. I'm not
saying I don't do it, but that's not what you do.
Speaker 6 (10:06):
What do you What do you not like about the
one where where you're like going through the tone.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
Touches your car and it I swirl marks on your paint.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
Now the old car, that's fine.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
You get out though, and don't they buffet for you?
Speaker 6 (10:17):
They can draw.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
Some of them brushes they scratch if you have a nicer,
newer car.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
So what are you going to scratch up your car?
You do one where it's hand washed.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Hand wash okay at car wash, dudes, but you pay
for instead of paying twenty something bucks probably total at
a regular car wash where the brushes are going to
scratch your car. But I know it's fun to sit
there and sit through it, and I think it's relaxing.
You're going through the tunnel and it's just like I watch.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
I love that.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
But now we know it ruins the paint job. So
if you care about it. It's a fifty dollars car wash.
Can I tell you my wife hand washed? My wife
has car wash anxiety?
Speaker 1 (10:53):
What does that?
Speaker 2 (10:54):
What you mean? You know when you first enter a
car wash and they're trying to line up your tire
with that groove. My life straight up has an anxiety attack.
Like left right? She overcorrect, dude, She like, my wife
goes an idol let it drift forward. She goes into
this like uncharacteristic panic every time you would drive, like
(11:14):
when they're like little to the left. She's like, she'll
like drastically tired. I'm like, babe, relaxed. She's like, I'm
not the only one. So if you have car wash anxiety,
you're not alone. But hey, I'm wrong, You're right. This
is rare. I'm admitting I'm wrong. I need to go
to the legit car wash more. But just remind her.
Happy to hear you gotta watch. Never answer the question
any in any circumstance. Hey, if you're at a state
(11:36):
down dandy, if you're at a ballgame and someone's selling
some bootleg merch outside of the stadium, don't answer the
question how much you're willing to spend never answer the
question how much you're willing to spend?
Speaker 3 (11:47):
Ask him how much? I got so caught off guard.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
I feel like the New Yorker in me, because I'm
born and raised in New York is ashamed of me.
Following for that question, I walked away with my head down, like, damn.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
Hey, you were off guard. I give you, I give you, uhgo, how.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
Much you're willing to spend? How much are you willing
to spend? That guy just took the amount I said,
and then he's gonna do probably the minimal for that. Well,
Rich Davis, Yeah, reminds you to get your car washed
this summer.
Speaker 5 (12:15):
On this date in history, Walt Disney opened up Disneyland
for the first time, and Rich Davis got his car washing.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Yeahaye, school exactly stick around because this Thursday, and that
means old school. When fifty hits in about forty minutes, okay,
thirty seven to be exact, we throw it back on
a Thursday.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
We get you involved.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
But our intro Yeah, basically, Paint says a bunch of
dopes that don't know much and it's not.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
That far off.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
I get it, but you know what I do know
how to do a radio show you know what else?
I know that show Heyo, Tani's not a girl? I
do know that?
Speaker 3 (12:50):
Was that the most bizarre moment? Or do you say?
You know what?
Speaker 2 (12:54):
I I think that's to understand is the charm I
think of one Mike Tyson if you miss still has
not At the SPS, Mike Tyson's there presenting the award
for what was that athlete? I don't even know what
was that athlete of the year. I think so I
just saw the highlight on it and show he Tani
mumbles under uh. Mike Tyson mumbles under his breath, take
(13:16):
listen and goes to.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
Tani. Show Hey could not be here tonight.
Speaker 7 (13:30):
He sends his gratitude and appreciation at ESPN and everyone
who voted for him.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
Show Hey the Guy.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
Jake Paul accepts it on his behalf, and then Tyson
asks him that Mike picks it up Joey the Guy right,
because he's saying, basically, I don't know if that a
guy or God.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Mike, where you been?
Speaker 2 (13:49):
My picture of Mike Tyson sitting at his ranch, smoking weed,
just loving life.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
But I'm just shocked that he doesn't know the name
shows you.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
How Show Hey shows how much in his bubble he is,
how little he cares about anything else outside of boxing
and his own life. Because we're talking about one of
the biggest stars of our lifetime, like the Babe Ruth
of baseball, who transcends baseball and sports. He's an international superstar.
Yet Mike Tyson doesn't know. But if Mike Tyson's not
(14:21):
watching sports highlights and he doesn't watch baseball, and I
doubt anyone's really talking to Mike about baseball and he's
not in the circles Urine meaning like that's you just
make an excuse. But I'm saying it's the mom. Of
course I am your mom knows who shoot. But I'm
just saying, like Mike Tyson doesn't find himself at the
barber shop or hanging in a radio studio or bubble.
(14:42):
He's in his such a bubble that played one more time.
I was saying, he presents sho Hao Toni and then
was just he was just proud, like watch me pronamphant
and he got it relatively correct.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
He was like, show hey oteny or it is to
check this out, show atani atani sho hey could not
be here tonight.
Speaker 7 (15:08):
He sends his gratitude and appreciation at ESPN and everyone
who voted for him, show.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Hey the guy right.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
Meanwhile, there's a giant photo behind him of sho Hey
Otani pitching for the Dodgers.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
He says that sincerely, he's a guy. He's a guy.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
But here's why I'm not surprised. I mean, it's why
we sort of like Mike Tyson, like he's a peculiar guy.
He's very intriguing.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
We know this.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
He might be the most intriguing guy on the planet.
I said this, Rich, and I wasn't joking.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
Today.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
Rich said, is Corey Feldman's birthday or something like that.
I said, believe it or not, he's a weird fella.
I can't skip a Corey Feldman video. I don't put
him in the same category as Mike Tyson. But I'll
tell you this, there's no way in the world I'm
ever skipping past the Mike Tyson video.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
He's the most intriguing dude.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
And when we interview I remember the first time we
interviewed him, we were so excited to talk about my
Tyson's punch.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
Out and I was like, Mike, you don't get it, man.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
I still know the code double O seven three seven
three five nine sixty three. Man, I'll never forget how
I felt when I finally got to fight you ent.
He's like, man, that's crazy. I don't even know.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
I'm like, what do you mean you don't know?
Speaker 2 (16:16):
So automatically, I'm starting to feel so deflated because I'm
so excited and he has no like idea, like I
never really played the game.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
I'm like, you never played your own game.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
He's like no, He's like, I never even got And
this is what he says. I swear to god, I'm
quoting Mike Tyson. I never even got pathed blath Joe,
the last Jess Joe. He's like, yeah, what with his name?
Blath Joe. And it wasn't like a speech impediment thing.
He didn't know the guy's name, like it was Glass Joe.
If you don't Joe, you don't know Glass Joe, man,
(16:49):
whatever his name is. We're like what. So he's so
Mike Tyson that he doesn't care, but you show he's
a guy. People are in circles where they don't get information.
People are raised differently. I'll give you two more. I'll
give you three quick examples. Just to show that, man,
I come barrel loaded, listen idies three. I got three
number one, three?
Speaker 1 (17:09):
What examples?
Speaker 2 (17:10):
Three great examples of people just not knowing Number one, oblivious,
being oblivious, locked and loaded.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
Number one.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
You're gonna fill in the blank for me because I
forgot who it was. But we had a rock star
on our show, and Cavino was so pumped to be
like ya remember track one we'd rock out and the
and the artist was like, yeah, I don't know the
track listing.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
It was Stephen Jenkins, thrown up blind.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
Cavino's like, I love the order of the songs on
your I was talking about, like, hey, when it comes
to the sequence of songs, you know, like Graduate was
track five, like or whatever? I said, I don't know.
It was such a big album in our college days.
Did you have a say on the track? He's like,
I don't know what song was? What you know better
than me.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
I'm like, you don't know what song was? What this
is your album? Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
This morning, Cavino's telling me that, uh, I've really been
enjoying Little House on the Prairie, Like of all the
shows for d you know, it's number one on Thatt
Foil all the shows for this doofy Guido to watch.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
He denies every show we recommend.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
Danny doesn't want to watch Friends and Neighbors, doesn't know
watch Silo.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
But he's like, you know, little House on the Praier.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
I know how corne it sounds, so I'm giving you that,
but it really is pretty good.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
You haven't even started Kate Fair.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
But Danny, but he loves the Little House in the Prairie. Anyway,
I'll admit I didn't watch that show as a kid
in the eighties, so I didn't know it was based
on like real people.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
I'm I'm the dumb guy.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
There were books, yeah, but that see doesn't mean he
makes dumb excuses like I didn't have cable so I
don't know. How about the fact that it's like part
of Americana, dude, I'm sorry, Okay. And then the sports example,
do you remember the year was twenty twenty one. I
looked it up to confirm Anthony Edwards had no clue
who a Rod was. Became part of the part of
(18:53):
the crew that was looking to purchase the t Wolves
at the time, and they brought up a Rod and
Anthony Edwards.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
Was like, y'all don't know. Oh, that's to me.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
That's a great example too, Rich, the fact that you
didn't know those are based on real life events, historical fiction.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
When you say a Rod, you mean like a single rod,
A Rod.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
I thought there was no excuse for that because he's
a guy that's making his way in professional sports. We're
talking about a future owner of the team. He was
drafted by a Rod, transcended sports, He's in pop culture.
He was dating j Lo at the time. I'm not mistaken.
I Ad is such a controversial figure, but he didn't know,
(19:38):
like I understand, there's an age gap.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
To me, that was absurd, but it happens all the time.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
I remember Rich and I we used to do a
show for Maxim magazine and we had some hometown hottie
on the show and we were like, hey, let's welcome
Jessica Winfield to the show. And I was like, hey,
just and she was a white girl, so I'm making
a joke. I was like, no relation to Dave, right,
She's like, who's that. I'm like, you never heard of
Dave Winfield?
Speaker 1 (20:04):
And she was.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
She was a girl that grew up in the eighties
in New York. Yeah, but and her name was Winfield.
I'm the first person ever to make that reference to
you in your entire life. I'm the first guy like
Dave Winfield. Never heard of that guy.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
Never heard of that guy? Your name's Winfield.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
So like when Tyson's like show him tiny, I don't
know him, Like, I get it because he's in a
bubble like Anthony Edwards, but I don't accept it.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
Well, some people are in rich people bubbles, poor people bubbles,
cultural bubbles.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
But you you got me because I never heard of
that radio host. I don't want to call him out,
but there's a very famous radio host who does like
Loveline shows that I'm like, I don't really know that
person or whatever?
Speaker 1 (20:51):
Are you No?
Speaker 2 (20:54):
I know, I know, but I want to like call
it out for like I'm I got a couple more
fun examples of.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
Cono's I never heard of her.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
I'm like, you, you work in radio for the last
twenty five years and you've never heard of Deliah. So
the reason I bring that up is not to expose myself,
but to say that it's you do miss things and
I get it, Like, hey, I don't know, man, I
must have missed it or fell asleep or it didn't register.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
So guy who's worked in radio since the nineties, Yeah,
I don't know that. One never heard the name Delilah.
Speaker 5 (21:25):
Nope, she's syndicated one hundreds of radio station.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
I must have heard that and been like, yeah, whatever,
don't know it.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
They didn't know, but like Delilah, I don't think I
listened to that on the East Coast too.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
It was everywhere where I don't know, not where I lived, man,
No where you live?
Speaker 2 (21:43):
Nowhere that in Union, New Jersey. We must they blocked
it out in Union, New Jersey. Okay, another one.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
I'm going to look up Delilah's old affiliate. It was
no offense.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
I know she's a legend or whatever, but I missed it,
just like My Type and myth show.
Speaker 6 (21:58):
Hey with Doney, there were movies you weren't seeing when
you were like a teenager because you were out trying
to go on dates with girls.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
But it's one thing to not but not know right,
like I get it, like yeah, you know, I know
of It is a totally different thing. Camp scouta buld
You remember when he was drafted, he didn't know the
teams that were in his division.
Speaker 6 (22:16):
Oh, I don't think a lot of NFL guys could
name you tell you a lot about NFL history. I
think they're locked in on what what's now? What's yeah?
Like what they're interesting?
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Interestingly enough, You're right, I think there's a lot of
NFL guys like the same way.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
College football the way a true college football.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
Fan, those like I know the major divisions and conferences
and whatnot. But I think it's wild that a guy
gets drafted and you're like, dude, you're on the Giants.
The fact that he doesn't immediately know like, oh, Commanders, Eagles,
Cowboys are my division. Like the fact that he doesn't like,
he's like, I don't know who's the must division.
Speaker 1 (22:50):
Nailed it.
Speaker 2 (22:51):
There's a reason they're so locked in on just playing
the game that they don't even care.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
So, yeah, it's always but it's shocking to hear.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
Right.
Speaker 6 (22:58):
I've got a pop quiz for rich quiz hot shot. Yeah,
what conference? Were these former divisions? And one was called
Legends and one was called Leaders. Everyone hated it. What
conference was that in? Yes, no idea, I mean.
Speaker 3 (23:13):
That that is the Big the Big ten.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
You're right, you are right. Listen.
Speaker 6 (23:17):
That's more of a B side question because the legends
and leaders lasted for what I don't know, Isaac, like
five or six.
Speaker 3 (23:22):
Years, like five or six minutes. I was stupid. I
grew up on Long Island.
Speaker 2 (23:29):
If you like college sports, growing up on Long Island,
it was rare because you had two Pro NFL teams,
three hockey teams. One was watching Devil Rutgers like at nights.
The closest college basketball east Mark Jackson that I was
a big East guy, But I went to Syracuse for
college and that was the closest. The closest college football
team that had any success was maybe down in Maryland,
(23:50):
up in Syracuse, Boston College.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
Like everything, there was nothing in the New Rutgers You're not.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
When you were in school, but like and even in
colleges that made impact were no, we're a few and far.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
Penn State was like four hours away.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Like the closest colleges that had any relevance to New
York City were Upstate New York in Maryland is we
all have blind spots, that's understandable. But showy country music
is my blind spot. But I have a legitimate excuse.
Growing up in New Jersey. We didn't have a country station, but.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
You had Delilah.
Speaker 5 (24:25):
Yeah, looking in New Jersey cove in New Jersey. Delilah
has been a long time staple on w s U
S one o two point three FM and Franklin, New Jersey.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
I don't know one oh six point seven FM radio
station New York ninety eight point three and a happy station.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Why would I listen to that? She joined New York
Radio in two thousand and six.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Well, I saw her sign outside this building and I
was like, get it out of my face, where's our sign?
And I said that respectfully, So anyway, you don't have
to say it respectfully. I said, respect I heard she
never heard of you. That's just signed under the wall.
Hit me up, She goes, who's that dope? I wouldn't
be surprised. Uh so we bring this up blind spots.
How do you not know? How did Mike Tyson not
(25:09):
know who show how Tani was? He didn't even know
if it was. And by the way, there's something called
due diligence too. Right, you're presenting at the SP's and
I get it, you're Mike Tyson, but you don't know
if it's a guy or a girl like we're talking
about the absolute basis, would say he needs to know
show hayes e r a right or bating. That's called
(25:30):
being joyfully oblivious. But it seemed like Marcelo Hernandez did
a good job. I think Fernando Mendoza's comedy timing was
pretty impressive. And you know what, to put a bow
on that conversation, think about what has been criticism, What
has been the criticism before everyone was all into politics nowadays.
Remember back in the day, the big criticism would always
(25:51):
be like the president doesn't know the price of eggs
or carton of milk, because sometimes you're in your bubble
and you don't know certain things. Otani should be known
by everyone.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
I would think so, I definitely would think so.
Speaker 2 (26:02):

a lot, guys, I don't know. I appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (30:34):
People are like if you're willing to like some random

You know That's what I'm gonna sayschology.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
Because I was gonna say, Danny, if you're anything like

Speaker 1 (30:56):

Speaker 2 (31:01):
Hell no, I hate So thank you guys for hanging
out with us. Thanks for liking our clips. It means
a lot for some reason. That matters.
Speaker 1 (31:08):
Yeah, I don't like him, and you'll see more of.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
That Henry Winkler stuff on over promised next week, by
the way, because we talked sports with him and he
has some cool happy day stories and some other things
about the Lakers and basketball. So that'll be next week
on over promise. But appreciate you guys. Thank you for
hanging out with us. You know you know what tonight is.
I hope you're having a happy day. No, tonight is
the premiere of a show that I'm gonna watch. I
(31:32):
feel like it's it's worth the chance. And it is
called Hawk on Netflix. It's the new Will Ferrell movie,
not Moving, the show where he's a golfer.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
They were promoting it during the home run derby.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
I'm going the hell out of that. Can I tell
you what not to watch with your kids? I started
watching Hot Ones with Sewn Evans, you know, the guy
that they do the hot wing challenge that wings get hotter.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
Yo.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
In my mind, I'm like, well, that's Will Ferrell. Sewn Evans, Like, oh,
this should be family friendly.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
Nope.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
Uh, like one or two wings in It's like all right,
we're gonna watch something else.
Speaker 6 (32:04):
So several good, great memes have come out of that show,
like Idris Elba and like there's like a gift.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
And like, uh it's other people.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
That guy shot up is really good dude, So uh,
it's fun. Just don't watch with your little kiddos. But
that show Hawk tonight got me thinking today is actually
Will Ferrell's fifty ninth birthday.
Speaker 1 (32:21):
I thought it was about Andre Dawson.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
It's not about Hawk, though, I thought it was about
Ken Harrell's not true you would watch it if it
was that that.
Speaker 1 (32:28):
Watch it about over the top?
Speaker 3 (32:31):
Yeah, yo, hook?
Speaker 1 (32:33):
I like Will Farrell.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
By the way, it's his birthday, right, Yeah, it's at
fifty nine today and I gotta throw it out there.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
Is it.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
Obvious what his top three movies are?
Speaker 2 (32:44):
Like? If I would be like, yo, Will Farrell, would
we agree, I'm gonna give you the three and you
tell me no, you're wrong, dope. I'm gonna say for sure, Elf, Yeah,
I think that would interesting. I'm gonna say I'm throwing
step Brothers. Yeah, it's gotta be the Stepbrothers has to be. Yeah,
that's definitely and Anchorman.
Speaker 1 (33:01):
I thought you were going to say old School.
Speaker 6 (33:02):
See thought you were going to say Talladagan Knights. That's
the I would rearrange those. I wouldn't have Elf in
the top three. ELF's number one.
Speaker 3 (33:13):
Well, I don't know by far.
Speaker 6 (33:15):
I mean it's a Holly movie, so maybe got more attention.
I didn't watching that movie. No, it's a good one,
but it's like I watched it as an adult and
I'm like, this didn't quite click with me as much.
I know a lot of people. It's a beloved movie
for a lot of people, but I have Talladagan Knights Anchor, uh,
Talladagan Knights, definitely step Brothers, and then my third probably
would be Anchorman.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
Yeah, dam I feel like you could be the third
step brother.
Speaker 2 (33:36):
Oh my god, I'd love to be a sequel. I mean,
it's so good John c Riley, he's so good told
the story on our show, not the name drop, but
it's true. He's like when he first met Will Ferrell,
there was like a built in kinship, like they really
felt like there was a connection there, like and you
saw that on screen.
Speaker 1 (33:57):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
And it's a shame they don't work together anymore. I
know it seems to be some sort of weird thing
going on. But let me let me ask you, guys
the number eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox before
we get to Old School later, your top three Will
Ferrell movies? Are they as obvious as you think? I say, Elf, Stepbrothers, Anchorman,
oddly enough, old School. I feel like everyone else loves
(34:18):
it a little more than I do. I think it's great,
but I don't think it's a top three, and either
do you?
Speaker 1 (34:22):
Sam? Huh? Did I not? I don't know.
Speaker 2 (34:24):
I didn't have in my top three all right, Well,
let's go to I Love for an update and IOW
feel free to let us know your favorite Will Ferrell movies.
Speaker 4 (34:31):
Will Ferrell and I went to the same high school,
by the way, several years apart, as he is considerably
older than me, University high school in Irvine, and shout out.
Speaker 2 (34:41):
That's wild though. You know he brings up his baseball
days at Irvine. What's the high school?
Speaker 4 (34:46):
University high school and Irvine.
Speaker 2 (34:47):
Yeah, he brings up how he played right field and
left field, never center field. He was never quick enough.
But he actually talks about that on Hot Ones with
John Evans.
Speaker 4 (34:55):
And later at USC he majored in sports information, which
is like the cool listen major. Ever, it's so cool
they don't have it anymore. But but he got he
got a good deal. Well I got some sports information
because today, at a taping of the Mind the Game
podcast in front of a live audience, Lebron James was
asked by Tyrese Halliburton if he decided about his free
(35:15):
agency yet James declined to answer, and here's the full
audio of their exchange, speaking is.
Speaker 1 (35:20):
Still doing this?
Speaker 9 (35:21):
Is there a decision that has to be made?
Speaker 1 (35:27):
When we talked about this in the graphic proos. I
don't know, I don't know if you want to do okay, okay.
Speaker 3 (35:35):
And we have a fresh detail.
Speaker 4 (35:37):
Just moments ago, at an event in New York City
called the Game Plan Conference, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver was
being interviewed on stage, and according to reporters who were
at the event, he said, we have to finish up
(35:58):
the schedule, and where Lebron plays affects the schedule. It
will influence how we set the schedule opening week Christmas,
So I need him to make a decision. That's pretty funny,
so we could finish the schedule. Can I add one
more Lebron James little titbit to your update?
Speaker 1 (36:14):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (36:15):
Did you say, by the.
Speaker 4 (36:15):
Way, you don't have to ask for permission to do
things when it's your own show, guys.
Speaker 2 (36:20):
But if you don't know, I'm the king of respect
now and that will be your downfall.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
Isaac.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
Did you see a fan was asking Steve Kerr what
about Lebron?
Speaker 3 (36:30):
And Steve Kerr goes, we got him. Do you see
that I did?
Speaker 2 (36:34):
So.
Speaker 3 (36:34):
I don't know if he's trolling or maybe he slipped.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
Who knows.

Lots of problems, huge problems with the opening. In fact,
they called it black Sunday. Walt even referred to it
