Speaker 2 (01:49):
I think Philly and I think San Antonio wins tonight.
I think Philly continues with that momentum uh and they
go in and they're gonna they're they're gonna win. And
I think I think the spurs the first one. Things
are still they're at home, they're excited, so give me
the spurs and Philly who playing the Minnesota team.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
I'm going with the NIXT tonight and the timber.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Wool timber Wolve.

miss those.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Huh Okay, all right now I'm going to st Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
No, clearly.

Speaker 6 (02:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Close. The Spurs almost won last night. They almost won
last night.

Speaker 5 (02:46):
It was not close.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
I mean I was, I was, but I was not
expecting Philly to come out the way that they did.
I really wasn't. I was really really wrong on that.
The Spurs and the timber Wolves definitely went down to
the wire.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Uh, in a lot of different ways in that those
last seconds. By the way, let's just hear that again.
This from yesterday's show. This monson to me making picks
on the first night of the conference semifinals in the
NBA playoffs.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Let's hear that again, Sam, I think Philly wins tonight,
and I think San Antonio wins tonight. I think Philly
continues with the momentum and they go in and they're
gonna they're they're gonna win. And I think I think
the Spurs the first one. Things are still, they're at home,
they're excited. So give me the Spurs and Philly Monson
the Minnesota.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
Team, I'm going with the Knixt tonight and the timberwol
timber Wolf, I'm going to go the opposite of you
in more ways than one for Minnesota. Last night, the
Timberwolves w O O V E. S is how I
look at it. There was but there was a W
I called it last night. All right, there's a lot
to get to from last night. And even though you

(03:51):
got the pick wrong, you love you love what you
heard from the winning side.

Speaker 7 (03:57):
In Anthony Edwards of.

Speaker 8 (04:01):
That game, it wasn't I gave up two officeive rebounds,
turned the ball over.

Speaker 9 (04:06):
Yeah, I'll be better.

Speaker 10 (04:07):
Something about this group backs against the wall.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
You guys are injured.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
There it is there, it is. He'll be better, he.

Speaker 5 (04:15):
Will be better. Will you be better? That's the Other's
a different question.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
Tonight, maybe tomorrow, but it could be worse, but you
actually loved what you heard from Anthony Edwards.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Yeah, I did a double take when I was at
home and I don't know what I was doing, but
I think I was doing a little light cleaning or whatever,
picking some stuff up, and I.

Speaker 5 (04:34):
Did a double take.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
I was like, Oh, that's that's a different answer than
I was expecting from Anthony Edwards. I've been critical of
Anthony Edwards over the years. I just feel like I
have said, I don't think he wants to win, and
that's not right. Of course he wants to win, but
there's a difference where when I lose my volleyball game
on a Tuesday night, I don't want to talk to
anybody for like twelve hours, don't talk to me. And
I'd be like, he moves on quickly after losses, and

(04:57):
it's something that I just that's right. I see him
laugh on the bench while they're losing. I see him
laugh maybe with an opponent after the game, and it's
just something different, like I wish I was maybe more
like Anthony Edwards, where I can let it go a
little bit faster and move on, but I hold onto it,
and I wish he held onto it a little bit more.
And last night with his response, I was like, Oh,

(05:20):
that's the Anthony Edwards that I feel like, I don't
see a lot that I would like to see more of.
Where you won and you were still not satisfied with
your performance, knowing that you weren't even supposed to be playing,
and he felt he seems so dead serious, like there's
a smile that he always has when they're winning, and
even that smile wasn't there and they won, So it

(05:41):
was just something. It made me do a double take
and I said, okay, okay, eh, I like this.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
I actually think it's in a way this may sound
heavier than it is, but because his personality is the
way he is. I mean he's talking trash to you know,
President Obama as the team's about to go to the
Olympics and say like, that's that's who Anthony Edwards is.
And in a way, if you're in Minnesota, you do
have to kind of take the good with the bad.
And I do agree with you that there was a

(06:07):
time in Anthony Edwards life and I think it's still
some sort where he wasn't serious about anything.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
It seemed that way.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Yeah, a few years ago, I was. I went in
on Anthony Edwards' diet and his fitness level when he
was getting gassed in their series against the Mavericks in
the Western Conference Finals and Luca was cooking him and
he wasn't available to be one hundred percent Anthony Edwards,
and you would see clips of him making jokes about

(06:36):
how he would eat Popeyes and how you would eat
the fiery hot Cheetos, and at some point that does
fall under professionalism, and Karl Anthony Towns, who was his
teammate back then, was even critical of it, but it
didn't register. So with age, maybe Anthony Edwards is becoming
in a way more professional, still having that childlike smile

(07:00):
attitude that is different than anything else. But I do
think there's growth. I think you could see the changes
just physically in his body from a couple of years ago.
I think that there's a different Anthony Edwards. The thing
that stuck out most to me was that he knew
he wasn't one hundred percent, but he knew that his
presence on the floor playing was going to affect everyone else,
and that is something different that I'm not sure everyone realizes.

(07:24):
But he realized how much he means to this team.
So if he's on the floor, Monts, he had seventy
five percent, maybe everybody else gets a five percent boost
because Anthony Edwards is on the floor. And I think
that that just to be able to realize that shows
the growth that you seem to.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Love absolutely and you saw that. It was evident in
the game when they would double team him and he
would have to dish the ball out to a teammate
if they would hit the three, then the Spurs had
to adjust their defense and they were like, Okay, we
can't double team him right now because his teammates are hot.
If he's not on the court, I don't know if
the Spurs win by two. That's how important he was,

(08:01):
even at only seventy five percent. And another thing he
said in his post game interview, which I don't think
we heard that part yet, but it was later where
he says, for me, it's like mentally more than anything,
Like I was not mentally in the game in the
final minutes. And I thought that was another thing that
all these young NBA players should hear and say you're right,

(08:23):
because sometimes it gets to the point where physically.

Speaker 10 (08:26):
Everybody's really good in the NBA.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
How are you different? It's because you're mentally in it
on a different level for the entire forty eight minutes.

Speaker 5 (08:33):
And I like that.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
He said that also, And if you see what he
did on the last possession, you're probably like, yeah, you
really weren't.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
He wasn't and he said that, yeah you were, Like
what were you thinking in that moment?

Speaker 4 (08:45):
Did you have a problem with the Spurs last possession?

Speaker 5 (08:49):
I don't think so. I don't think I had approblemz
he'z in Stewart.

Speaker 4 (08:54):
Did you have any problems with the Spurs in their
last possession last night against Minnesota?

Speaker 10 (08:59):
If I had money on the Spurs, I would have
had a problem with it. But because it didn't work out,
I think it's easy to scrutinize.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
Correct. Yeah, yeah, that's fair. Iowa, Sam, Isaac Glow and
Cron Do you have any how did you think of
the last possession? I'll tell you what. This is what
I thought of the last possession. Mitch Johnson should have
called timeout and you can say what you want. They
get an open three and it's missed shot doesn't fall,

(09:28):
Minnesota wins. You get it to your player, who's probably
the best offensive night of that night, and the balls
in his hands, with Anthony Edwards not knowing necessarily where
to go, open look, open, three. It's easy to hear
Mitch Johnson say like, we got a good look. And

(09:48):
I agree with all of I agree with all of that.
But what dawned on me is this, do you know
why Mitch Johnson didn't call a timeout, not because to
his point that Minnesota looks scrambled on defense, is because
they don't have that guy yet. And we're talking about Wemby,
who shoots of eight from three point range, and we're

(10:09):
gonna hear from Victor Wembin Yama in a second. But
do you think at any moment, if if Kevin Durant
was healthy, if tonight the thunder are down by one
and have the basketball, do you think Mark Dagnell is
going to be like, just run it, see what you
can do. Are you gonna get call the time out
and get the ball in? Shake Gill just Alexander's hands.

Speaker 5 (10:26):
Right, but shake Gil just Alexander's.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Not on the spurs.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
Correct. And that's what we need to realize this.

Speaker 11 (10:38):
Right now.

Speaker 7 (10:39):
And that's wota.

Speaker 12 (10:51):
On defense and sexonscenario, the Denver matter, of shy did
the NETA.

Speaker 11 (11:02):
Matters there bucks, then Mata matters those and fast.

Speaker 13 (11:04):

Speaker 13 (11:30):

admit the damn shots.

Speaker 8 (11:39):

Ca had tim timos, I'm on their feet that I'm
not going to make great and bussing leaves and spurs.
She has hadn't Handy Cane those off that sense about
all those past acts like he.

Speaker 7 (11:59):
Can't have that.

Speaker 5 (12:00):
It's can carry more brother.

Speaker 8 (12:02):
So so if I'm not John Johnson and and the
time I had to, i'd write without if I'm fifty
five sick said no, whatever.

Speaker 5 (12:07):
It was, I'm easy.

Speaker 8 (12:08):
No nobody that has a hot.

Speaker 5 (12:10):
Hand hand right now. No nobody is Dudeman what I
want to Walt call it all the time out and
pull all the stressures because they call it calling down out.
Even the one think I was down.

Speaker 7 (12:18):
To having right you would for someone's going to go
to one.

Speaker 5 (12:21):
So the Minnesota tims we're gonna anna were just a
certain way.

Speaker 8 (12:24):
Wait, I thought that this is man made me asks
and none not at the time, I around right word
for because they said we couldn't class down into this.

Speaker 13 (12:31):
You guys are dress just go go.

Speaker 8 (12:33):
I I would like to think that I really don't
even name him. It was a great shot by guy
who had who argued about broad her hands and he
had just missistic but supers wars where I'm not even
any other bast softball and they're able to live like
like you know, no p's he seemed together good moments,
said good alies.

Speaker 5 (12:51):
Well, well the ten so just look pretty realty good.

Speaker 7 (12:53):
I'm gonna start the finish.

Speaker 8 (12:54):
I was up because words managed to stay in the game,
or as far as long as it did.

Speaker 5 (12:58):
I end then it really downtown Ti fire.

Speaker 8 (13:01):
But that's why he I would again again.

Speaker 5 (13:03):
And then I think it's fast. Part of bass is
is your yearning experience that God comes from SMA moment.

Speaker 8 (13:09):
Now it's there's one of those contents where you can't
you can't, can't rappan, you can't rap roughly ca can't
he So now all those guy, all of those stories
sides know.

Speaker 5 (13:17):
Exactly what can't happen in the Colonne moments of a
because because he's he's that has been there, and they
would show us a little way.

Speaker 8 (13:24):
For sure. I feel like fel like it's a very
great learns of experience for them. And that's why another
reason I think it was a recall.

Speaker 7 (13:30):
So we said, I have the murder of down on
one and the lists is going to get a un
abuta is actually yas it's out out and it's and.

Speaker 13 (13:40):
Tell tells you shed one tho his hands and that
she choose the wall, and business is it. I think
they start saying, I was wasn't there? Why why didn't
you get all the balls? That's me a why why
didn't you get the balls got spass reserations at V
and I guess I said that says you three Nama,
there's there's a lot of things comes with him and

(14:01):
and and one announced that not not necessarily Eric Flair
rail end roses it was you'll show it's on Sunday
u Sho shows every area an He's always also admitted
that bing do want announced is not along.

Speaker 7 (14:14):
Its is further under along as as you know that
last night again eight from before that that wasn't even
an option for that, and.

Speaker 13 (14:21):
You think about that they rather has just going along
with the this this is about, This isn't going on
drive living and Decisions Jr. Sis This is your Jordan
usician and nmcing Steamer.

Speaker 7 (14:34):
John has this is your day. Take is your shot?
Because it didn't Baas did I'm humping victim? Would I now?

Speaker 13 (14:41):
And that that's just nothing like that that I think
not math sisers now and why why I'm talk talking about.

Speaker 7 (14:47):
The two most sery by right away as he's a
second oda last night? How dumb difficing this is to
one good six series?

Speaker 13 (14:55):
So now nominous siscursers they have the DOUGHTI guy right
now it's a biltas shot and it's not your adition. Soho,
but tell me put that your ear boxes and supercific thing. Director,
I'm not as a bun of options and as making
me if that'spect to be.

Speaker 7 (15:11):
A chaos like other guys.

Speaker 8 (15:13):
Okay, I think think why God and by print twenty white,
So I don't. I don't think that's gonna happy again
because the Seio just just gave me. Oh, okay, see
fine by my seconds Chuck Chuckel transation show on rocks
and they say, why is she.

Speaker 7 (15:25):
Can't take it?

Speaker 13 (15:25):
What?

Speaker 5 (15:26):
What if she is having a bad, bad game?

Speaker 7 (15:28):
Don't if it's a little are you kidding me for
when you and you challis if I'm happy? But but
you might have millions. But I'm not saying.

Speaker 8 (15:42):
As you're carrying these things like no, I'm not at all,
and it's that's not not so sore your hearing. I'm
I'm not having goes to start case. I just didn't
think it is his game there there was no go
God guy, but they.

Speaker 5 (15:57):
Hear I'm not that interrings at the part of the county.
You want to come Santo San anton new reserves right
now and so so I don't think that is scared
to compare there and them to what thun thunder might do.

Speaker 7 (16:05):
I want I want you to ask me what we
do it this distance? Did the come in last situation?

Speaker 5 (16:09):
What would the citizens? Don't kill me? Maybe maybe maybe died?
I love Okay cunning Haspersers are like, we're gonna gonna
literally on die.

Speaker 7 (16:21):
With somebody else. What are you to do? So it's
going to a lot of schopms before him any Yeah,
I don't okay, cap maybe for not shot.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
Shot has money on three table of say series that's
scared thing not that about himself. So I think the
things that listen that that more.

Speaker 7 (16:41):
Important the details as a two child. There's the reason
why it's not. It's because you didn't know know when
you were doing that.

Speaker 5 (16:47):
That that's that's the whole way point. Didn't we doing always?
How many times?

Speaker 7 (16:50):
Down? Now you everywhere?

Speaker 13 (16:53):
It's exactly so this is your way, wait, your way
way went on the awesome.

Speaker 7 (16:58):
Spare here there in New York.

Speaker 13 (16:59):
Fox his hands, Oh would rather has this scenario your
tsos indian an ass and then he gives you took
Kate came hunting hand and it took s s Ja
and then you took for Kevin her hands and you
took on James.

Speaker 7 (17:12):
He would you would all those ways to walk the
wall in her hand?

Speaker 13 (17:15):
No no matter what what then things is doing one
on my life? This is there one more ard Les association.
Certain times there's I'm nothing you.

Speaker 11 (17:20):
Mean thing to do.

Speaker 7 (17:21):
It's just going to make shot shot and my last
night this is there's a round of rock shit. Who
I was to what Lusu said and Luise you said,
was list happy.

Speaker 13 (17:30):
Having more boards in mencass I'm not handing in He
had wards full focused as he had hitted in inning
in thirty three.

Speaker 7 (17:36):
So so it's not about it making the business and
your union dealship shot. It's it's a decision. I'm not
a calling times I'm out try to try to get them.

Speaker 13 (17:42):
All all into Dantan's and his best player because because
like right South, san Antonios doesn't know anybody where he
is going to be, and that's my table, that's my root,
right Dave who russels so non on to.

Speaker 7 (17:53):
You know, you know rob S, san Antonio and Anna
be the the right tone hunter where love couldn't be
but right road now us always it look at great
animal n artist is quick wit has beens my office.
There's still still y'arre, still storeroom coach. That's what I say.

Speaker 8 (18:08):
You can't say all I think this is it's all
all in a good thing for the ens. Reason's I late,
it's it's only only it's hated in the sense of
I I he seen the your mix now now knows
what to do When j Jlen brunts and no one
knows about Joe John Junson and he hitting me and
me don't know what's why we do it didn't stands
too and he's gonna go a all and then then
he does get a shot off or whatever in this

(18:28):
this situation is this is a great rate and so
this starts step does Mitch Johnson.

Speaker 5 (18:32):
I was like, all right, he keep all on in
meoye other that you could be the one taking the
model shot. It doesn't does not happy to be a.

Speaker 8 (18:37):
Victor on her yellow That is that it's like I
found a Jael Johnson probably Oh, I know, no, Dan's
ball lot longer. Reason well outside that that, I'm I'm
not about said, I'm not a bad look.

Speaker 5 (18:46):
We'll get get it next time. Father, you know, you know,
I I feel like anoundred thousand teams. Maybe looking happy.

Speaker 8 (18:52):
That's most moment as I's like, this is it in
all almost smart works and all I'm also smart work.
I got I gotta sect hate Hayden. He said, my
right when you go wrong down, I'm gonna.

Speaker 7 (19:01):
Feel that's a stress shot. And I don't.

Speaker 13 (19:03):
I think he's nessar that as pass miss what I'm
arguing about. And I says, I want to say that
ultimate makes Johnson it is wrong because they didn't make
your shot.

Speaker 7 (19:13):
So so so so let's let's here to stress out.

Speaker 13 (19:15):
Let's here, it's your thing. It's fasting John Johnson, what's
what's here's the most stars of job Jeff in the game.

Speaker 11 (19:19):
That's my boys just get down and felt like they
were going to bring to users. There's a tough times
sus you and you can make sure.

Speaker 7 (19:28):
You may game. So that's going to be that.

Speaker 11 (19:31):
Uh, they'll tell you that don't do anything becau jun
Jim step.

Speaker 7 (19:36):
Said, okay, Jog, should you don't do it and show
bread shot challenge is transient time?

Speaker 8 (19:45):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yes, yeah yeah, that's that's my point.

Speaker 7 (19:48):
Of the whole whole time. Not concerns felt filled out
that without a better option. The chumption were just nos Texas,
that's sex and its execution. That it's it's it's it's act. Actually,
because it's a side point, it's just.

Speaker 13 (20:03):
Better to listen to Samans to try the camp basketball
and Danas seven or give player.

Speaker 7 (20:16):
With the top players, which in the NBA you got
to got such sideline.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
You know, Minnesota wouldn't try to figure out a way
to get Anthony Edwards the basketball. That's that's my point.
It's more of a it's more of a not in
an indictment, but of where the Spurs really are right
now as a team and Victor wemen Yama and their players,
they aren't to that level where even their own coach
feels that giving the ball to Julian Champagne for three

(20:40):
is a better option than figuring out a way to
get it to Victor wemen Yama, who, by the way,
if he doesn't happen, could kick it out too, or
if there's a double team, if they run a play
for him, or get it to de Aar and Fox.
They went to a guy who did have a decent
game last night, but isn't their first or second option
offensively on that team. That's my whole point. You're what
you're saying is not wrong.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
But also and I'm just trying to convince he to
change my mine.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
We'll be here forever. She's watch to be on those
I'm dan Byer. By the way, I do want to
hear from Victor Webbin Yama after the loss. Let's get
the big centers thoughts.

Speaker 9 (21:13):
I think there was some good and some bad, and
h I think the bad was, as I said, not
going to.

Speaker 10 (21:25):
What we know.

Speaker 9 (21:26):
But I mean, it's it's a lot of it's a
lot of me because obviously my game wasn't good. It
wasn't feeling good tonight, and that's where the team is
going to look for me, you know. And you know
if I had be better, if if the offensive leaders
of our team had been better, it would have been different.

(21:49):
So basically, if everything was different, it would have been different.
If everything was different, it would have been different. There's
a Yogi barrow for you. He was right, he wasn't
right offensively. I think his game was credit sized last night.
And I'm not just taking a game one. This is
where the Spurs are. He was five or seventeen, made
up with it on the defensive end.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
Twelve blocks, but a lot of people wanted to get
impressed by those.

Speaker 4 (22:12):
True, your algorithm was filled with.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
My algorithm was hating on wemb poor guy.

Speaker 4 (22:17):
They accept the loss. They lost by two at home.
They can go to Minnesota, they can win another game.
By the way, if I'm Minnesota, I just sit Anthony
Edwards in game two. Just rest them up, make sure
he's ready for Game three and four wanted. Yeah, rest,
get him as much rest as he can. Totally, you
already got what you needed to do, even with him
saying me on the court is a presence. Just punt
game two, go one one, go back to Minnesota and

(22:40):
give Anthony Edwards a little bit more rest.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
Yeah, especially because you could see him win scene in
that fourth quarter where he went for a layup or
a dunk and came off of it and I was
just like, oh no, his knee, but then he powered through.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
By the way, there was zero chance of that happening.
Zero's also the number of games Monzi got correct picking
last night. I had two, two and zero here on
Cavino and Rich here on Fox Sports. Ready to listen.
I don't get many right, so when I do, we're
taking there.

Speaker 5 (23:03):
No, Yeah, when you get whenever you get them right.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
We all hear about it.

Speaker 4 (23:05):

Speaker 4 (23:20):
Givin on rit Chair on Fox Sports Radio. She's Monty Bologno.
So I'm Dan Byer.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
Now Dan and Monsey you're probably familiar. It's it's known
that sometimes here in the United States, on the night
before big game, fans of the home team are known
to sometimes pull off hijinks like setting off fire alarms
at the visiting team's team hotel overnight. Well, here's what

(23:45):
happened when Arsenal fans decided to do their equivalent of
some night before the game high jinks. This audio is
from outside the Atletico Madrid team hotel overnight in the
middle of the night. Geez, that's right. So, while in

(24:13):
America all we do is set off fire alarms, that's
child's play, and big European soccer, they set off full
on fireworks displays right outside the window of the enemy's team.

Speaker 4 (24:27):
Yeah, skip, you know, please welcome. So why the teams
always treatting Sometimes they move hotels, people don't know where
they're staying the night before games. Did not have that
option for Atletico Madrid.

Speaker 2 (24:38):
Obviously, welcome, stay up late, watch these fireworks.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
Don't get some rest fireworks.

Speaker 4 (24:44):
We have a we have a shooting range that's like
and I say relatively near our house because we can
hear the echoes and it's just and people come by like,
what's that. Don't worry about it. Just a shooting range,
that's all it is. Thank you very much, Isaac Lowancron.
Isaac also mentioned that the Lakers and Thunder are going
to start their series tonight.

Speaker 4 (25:22):
We had a legacy conversation yesterday did and Luka Doncic
no surprise out tonight. We don't know if he's going
to be able to even play in this series. We
had heard throughout earlier in the playoffs that Austin Reeves
was further along than Luca was, And obviously Reeves has
come back to play for the Lakers, but he's not
there tonight, and the point was brought up executive producer

(25:45):
Jason Stewart. Part of the conversation as well, is Luca's
absence hurting his legacy? Is this run of him not
being available for the Lakers so far in this playoffs?
Does this hurt his legacy? Does this buying into the
Luca legacy that we already think has been laid down
and maybe was a reason why he left Dallas.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
We should it should affect his legacy, but I don't
think it is. But I think it should, And I
think there's a couple of reasons why maybe we're not
looking at it like a legacy disappointment season when it
comes to Luca Dancic for a couple of reasons. But

(26:28):
one of them, I think.

Speaker 5 (26:29):
It's because it's the thunder.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
Like, no one's expecting the Lakers, even maybe with Luca,
to be able to do anything, So when he got hurt,
everybody was just kind of like all right, Well, there
goes likely the Lakers season, and I think we all
thought that, and so I feel like part of it
that they're playing the Thunder. If they were playing someone else,
maybe that would be more of a push for him.

Speaker 11 (26:52):
To come back.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
But I'm wondering if that's probably why it's not. And
then something that you mentioned that I didn't really think
about this and during our pre sciow meeting Lebron like
Lebron's still being there.

Speaker 5 (27:03):
It's still a Lebron's team to.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
A lot of people.

Speaker 4 (27:05):
Yeah it is, but it isn't like the Lakers have
said everything that they want to Luca that this is
his team and it's going to be his team moving forward.
I just don't think that the Luca era with the
Lakers can start until Lebron James leaves and we're only
talking about seven and now it's going to be eight
games tonight for the playoffs. But if Luca, lets you say,
let's just say this series is three two in favor

(27:26):
of the Thunder, lucas like I'm coming back for Game six,
and then they win in the Game seven, and then
they win. Guess what Luca's legacy now affected?

Speaker 1 (27:33):
Absolutely so now it's.

Speaker 4 (27:35):
Gonna be like, look, Luca returned, and Lebron James is
gonna hate that. But if that scenario were to play out,
it could help him. I don't think it's going to
I just think we're in a holding pattern right now
with Luca. Then until Lebron James exits left, it's still
going to be that uncomfortable pairing, that uncomfortable grouping. And
once he leaves, then Luca's rain and how his legacy

(27:59):
is affected will begin. Do you buy any of that
Jason Stores?

Speaker 10 (28:01):
So you're you're you're buying Luca like a like a
season and a half of like a honeymoon period where
we can't be judging him. Two things, two things very much.
Uh entice me with this story. You actually use the
phrase that maybe this worked to the uh to the
angle of him leaving Dallas. I was gonna say that

(28:23):
the one person who's snickering right now or is it smirking?
Which one is that look on your face when you
know you got something right. It's Nico Harrison right now.
Nico Harrison has a smirking, snickering smirk. And another angle too.
You talk about legacies, Mancy just brought this up. I
think Lebron's legacy, if it hasn't or if it doesn't,
should take an uptick care with what he's been doing

(28:47):
minus Lucas. So Luca's kind of like, if you're going
to judge him in this moment, Luca's downgrading of his
legacy is working in Lebron's favor.

Speaker 13 (28:57):
No.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
Yeah, I was going to add that if because you
were saying until Lebron exits left and I was like,
the problem is, let's say the Lakers don't win this series,
but Lebron plays well, that's he's holding on to the Lakers.

Speaker 5 (29:12):
He's not gonna he doesn't want to leave. I don't
think he wants to leave, right, Like it seems that way.

Speaker 2 (29:16):
This breakup, this departure, this separation, this may not happen
as soon as maybe people thought. Luca Louke, Like, at
what point do we start holding Luca's legacy accountable? Like
Jason said, because I just don't know when Lebron's going
to take that stage left exit.

Speaker 4 (29:35):
I think Lebron's favorite team is Team Lebron.

Speaker 5 (29:38):
Right, No, No, of course, it's team Lebron with a
lot of money.

Speaker 4 (29:41):
In LA And I don't look at the win over
the Rockets series, is anything to add to Lebron's legacy.
I do think his three that he hit, the turnover
that was caused on Reed Shepherd in that game against Houston,
I thought all of that is is great. I think
Lebron is still playing so we can say thanks doing
this at forty one years old, which I felt we

(30:02):
said a bunch during the Rockets series. An outmanned Rockets
team without Kevin Durant for a majority of the series.
I just don't give. I don't Lebron is playing so
we can say that sort of thing. I don't think
we should say they dispatch the Rockets. Well, yeah, the
Rockets didn't have their best player for most of the series.

(30:22):
So now if Lebron is playing this way to keep
them afloat and Luca comes in and saves the day
like at the end of the series, different story, and
there's no way that Lebron and Austin Reeves can carry
them past the thunder like they would need Luka Datcich
to win the series.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
But if they keep them in the game, I feel
like that's going to say a lot and I'm with you. Listen,
I Lebron. I can talk about Lebron up and down
all day every day because there's so much to him.
I agree that I think he's doing it because he
wants us to say that, but he is playing at
a pretty high level.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
To Jason's point about Luca, just to kind of put
a bow on this, it's not that this is not
in play right now for Luca. It will be once
Lebron leaves. And if this continues to happen with Luca,
the conversation will be like, well, the guy's now available,
that's why they traded him with you away from the Mavericks. Heck,
he wasn't there on Lebron's last year. He wasn't available

(31:16):
for the playoffs. So if that continues with Luca, this
will be added on to it. But I don't think
that we actually start judging Luca's legacy until Lebron leaves
town because the fall down of the Lakers, when Luca
has the team by himself, then you can add this
on and be like, heck, even the Lebron's last year
at forty one, Lebron's running up and down the court,

(31:36):
where was Luca. That's the argument that we're gonna have
at that time, whether it's a big legacy play or not.
Luca is unavailable tonight. Gelan Williams also still out with
his injury. Lakers and Thunder eight thirty Eastern Time. I
have the answer. I have the answer on why the
tip times on NBC are the way that they are.

Speaker 14 (33:27):
Cham Penney moves to his left, fires a three at
the buzzard. It's off the front rim No good. The
ballgame is over. The Timberwolves have stolen Game one in
San Antonio one oh four.

Speaker 4 (33:38):
One oh two. Former Fox Sports Radio employee and current
Timberwolves play by play voice Alan Horton with that call
there as the Timberwolves go up one oh one of
my two correct picks from last night, Manzi didn't get
any right. But there's always tonight, Manzi. Here, there are
two games tonight, Lakers in thunder at eight thirty Eastern time,

(33:58):
in ninety minutes prior, Cavaliers, Pistons tell me seven eastern?

Speaker 5 (34:02):
Tell me why? Why? Why do they hate me?

Speaker 4 (34:05):
You may have to blame a little bit of Jason Stewart.

Speaker 6 (34:08):
Jason Stewart is like your phone.

Speaker 4 (34:10):
Why do you know? Why do you know? Why? Yes?

Speaker 9 (34:12):
Or no?

Speaker 7 (34:13):
Why?

Speaker 4 (34:13):
I don't?

Speaker 13 (34:14):
What is it?

Speaker 4 (34:15):
So the research that I did last night was because
of these games being on network television that it is
more valuable for NBC to allow the local affiliates in
those affiliates wanting to keep a seven o'clock news on
the East Coast and say like Wheel of Fortune or
Jeopardy in that seven thirty spot, if that's the time,

(34:37):
then to then to move them out of the spot.
I guess after the game you can air those episodes
as well. But it's more about the about the window
of that eight to eleven or the seven to eleven time,
they still want like their programming of the news. That
was one of the reasons that was given. Sports Business

(34:59):
Watch was mentioning it. So why last night, why the
Knicks didn't start until eight o'clock Eastern time? That was
one of the reasons that they gave, so that that
was the understanding to me. And they're also just again
trying to get you to go to Peacock more often.
And I'll say this last night, thank goodness the other
game was on because the Nick sixers was a blowout,

(35:19):
so I was able to switch over and check out
the game. But that's why. So I don't know if
like the News and the Jeopardy, after these games air,
there'll still be time for them in that seven to
eleven window on the East Coast to air that news
because they are starting at seven o'clock Eastern time. But
that was the reason that was explained on social media.

Speaker 10 (35:40):
Something that TNT never has to think about. And so
that's the downfall of like over the air broadcast. You
need to consider these things. It seems very old school.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
Yeah it does.

Speaker 4 (35:52):
And I don't think ABC would have a double header.
They wouldn't have like this, like the double header of
how it would play out, but the ESPN games, like
the ESPN gets the games coming up on Wednesday, so
at seven eastern and nine thirty eastern something you pointed
out yesterday. Same with Prime Video two and a half
hour gap. But that was the reason that was explained online.

(36:14):
Whether it's valid or not, that's the theory out there
of why the tip times were what they were.

Speaker 10 (36:18):
And since you already brought it up twice, Dan, I
think you were trying to get me to talk about this. Yes,
I did get Final Jeopardy correct last night, and my
super hot girl friend Christina got it wrong, which is
very rare in our household.

Speaker 1 (36:31):
I got it right, she got it wrong.

Speaker 4 (36:33):
What was the answer was?

Speaker 9 (36:36):
What was it?

Speaker 10 (36:36):
It was something about a something said in a comedy
special in nineteen seventy How many you sent it to us?

Speaker 11 (36:45):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (36:45):
It was a George Carlin revers you can't say on TV.

Speaker 2 (36:49):
A famous list of.

Speaker 4 (36:50):
This Isasick is chimmed in.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
Yeah, I got that, I got that it.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
It's a famous list of this many items is found
on the nineteen seventy two comedy album Class Clown.

Speaker 10 (37:03):
What I Got.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
George Carlin seven dirty words?

Speaker 4 (37:08):
How many? So the number was seven? Right?

Speaker 1 (37:11):
That the answer was seven. But for bonus question I
gave the other parts too. For bonus points, I saw
you feel so stupid.

Speaker 4 (37:20):
Well, then now give you half the the answer half
the time. Anyway, by giving you so much detail in
it super annoys me. The guy that was on the
long streak he lost, is that correct?

Speaker 1 (37:29):
Correct?

Speaker 4 (37:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (37:30):
Spoil the other night?

Speaker 4 (37:32):
Well, no, he lost a couple of nights ago because
there was somebody.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
Who that Jamie Ding. Jamie Ding, does that sound familiar?

Speaker 4 (37:38):
Yes, But you kept on talking about you thought that
this guy was going to break like Holtser.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
He almost did. He was a juggernaut.

Speaker 4 (37:46):
But tonight you'll uh have to wait a little bit
later for your Jeopardy Year whel of Fortune if it
airs on the NBC affiliate in New York. This is
the other thing with time zones. The news airs at
different times. Yes, so like the local news in the
Central time zone usually airs at six o'clock, and the
nightly news will air prior to it. Other spots that'll
come after.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
Price is Right airs at nine am on the East Coast.

Speaker 4 (38:09):
What no way can you believe that that's wrong. We'll
get to the Kenneth Walker story, plus dynamic duo. She's Moncey,
I'm Dan. That's next on Fox
