It's only momentarily confusing, because once the season starts, you
get your Sunday ticket in your red zone and letting

I'm thinking, well, I pay for that bundle, right, the

Where is that completely separate? Honestly, dude, I am a

what am I paying for? And what do I get?

What stood out to you? And of course all things
Fernanda Mendoza, because he had a night. He did everything

you could expect from a first round draft pick in
his debut game. The pressure behind it, following Cousins, who
was also amazing last night Fernando ten for sixteen ninety
seven yards and one tuddy and just said all the
right things about it's a learning experience. See I disagree.

dark between those three defenders.

because he really did place that ball where it's the

I have observations from all the games and watching all
the recaps, and like you said, is this on NFL

Fernando Mendoza. He looked good in your silver and black, Danny.
He looked sharp, looked like he belonged. I loved watching.
Oh there he is not only that, like when he

takes the field, everybody's super super pumped about it, like
the out behind him. That's gotta feel good. Everyone wants
to see him, even raiders haters want to see this
dude do well, I would imagine. But the fans are
behind him big time, so that's that's a plus.

Yes, maybe the other maybe like twenty teams to be done.
But you know what I do think his aweshucks, I'm
perfect is the only thing that I'm not saying. It's

observations there. But it did remind me that even if
they're quiet or a little subdued NFL starting quarterbacks there's
only thirty two of them, and they have to have
some type of alpha swagger about them. And I just
wonder if his like aw shucks, Fernando Vibe is gonna
geil with fifty two other grown men in the locker room,

Like I wonder if he needs to be a little more.
You can't make someone be someone they're not. He is
a goofy dude, but an ultimate competitor. So I think,
like we see guys like Bryce Young, who was on
our show during the Super Bowl last year. Very soft spoken,
mild mannered, but you have to imagine that when they're
in the huddle, they command respect and they put a
different face on. Yeah, I mean to take things to

that level, they have to have a killer instinct. We
just don't see it because their their personality, their demeanor
when not in uniform, it's just different. You can't expect

like Baker Mayfield who's telling everyone to you and flex

much every game he played at Indiana was a big game.

thing I like most about him is that he's just

like a Raiders fan and the Raiders team and their
reputation and have two of the nerdiest quarterbacks of all
time and they both showed up like to me, Max
Crosby's a Raider. Yeah, yeah, yeah, definitely mean tattoos. But

these guys, these guys are killers on the field, that's
all you want. But I think a lot of observations
about Mendoza last night, we'd love to hear from you
eight seven, seven, nine to nine on Fox. Now within
that same game, let's slip to the Cardinals, who I
think are gonna win what I say, one or two games.

As you see, Yeah, you said two at the most,
you said maybe none. Yeah, and Covino and I argued
with you, I said four at.

Like you know, they won three last year. I think
they're on their way up. And you know, I do
get the vibe that Cardinals fans have a lot to
be excited about a lot of young players.

are new blood in the building on the sidelines and yeah,
brand new head coach that's bringing some new flavor to

The offenses have weapons on that on the offensive side
of the ball for both teams, but the defense lacks
for the Cardinals. The defense lacks right now for the Raiders.
So both those teams I think are gonna score points.

where is the game won? They would say in the trenches, right,
offensive line, defensive line, special teams, the intangibles, the things

you don't see on paper, the things that are not
sexy draft picks. Right, when a team picks an offensive lineman.

that is what eventually will win you ballgames. But when
you look at the Raiders and you say, for an
Indo Mendoza, Genty Bowers.

Mike Washington, Mike Washington Junior, you are Sime rip off,

Dude has speed. He dominated the combine. If you guys
remember that's how I remembered him, and then seeing him
bounce off defenders and explode. He had explosive speed. Yesterday
definitely turned a lot of heads.

old regime. And then you saw Malik Benson out of
Oregon look really good in the game.

And then when you look Dandy g to the Cardinals,
Beck looked great the other day, right, stud receivers and
Marvin Harrison Junior. Jeremiah Loves like a show.

He I knew and we when we were arguing about
the Cardinals schedule, I told you, you think a team
with Jeremiah Love is gonna win only two games even
for a bad season for them March, that's four wins.

Now that they're gonna win two games, but in a
couple of years they will be formidable. But what happened
to genty last year? Remember we all were so pumped,
and you're like, well, the Laron still needs more work
and it's not a finished product. I feel like I
feel like the Cardinals almost like a year behind what

Boy, I look like Jeremiah Love can get through the
crowd even with a subpar over.

I'm not saying Derek Henry esque. There's no it's not
a great comparison, but some running backs just look bigger
than others like, there's so many running backs that would whoop
your ass, but they're more compact. If it makes it,
Jeremiah Love just looks like a beast of a dude,
and he really did. I know, you could say yeah
against what second and third stringers, but Jeremiah Love looked

very much like he could be one of the top
five or so running backs in the NFL this year.
He just had something about him. And I know it's preseason,
I know it's time to, you know, make crazy observations,
but Jeremiah Love, look out. Well, Mendoza, the Raiders weren't
pretty much the biggest story of the night just because
of his star power and who Mendoza is, and we
get to see him play rich would you think you're

still think Michael Crabtree as well? I still look at
when I see him like, oh Crabtree and now number
fifteen strippling? Do you think he could be an impact player?
Or two songs? But we thought Pearsall was going to
be a good impact player and he really did nothing
last year and he's been hurt most of the time.

slate of any team, right. But I'm saying, you watch
any documentary, you watch enough montages of cool players, you're like,
I think this tea thirty two teams. The reality is
every year there's like five new teams to make the playoffs,
five teams that previously made it that all of a

sudden starts sucking. And that's just the NFL. That's the
fun parody, as I always say, in the National Football League.
So I asked you, guys, what is the one team
period that gives you all the clarity in the world
and who's the most confusing? And I have I have
my answers that I think they're obvious to me. I
think clarity. And I hate to say it because I

feel like they're all in and they're in my division.
But I would be shocked if the Rams aren't just
really good, right. I think they have to be a
top three number for everybody. Yeah, they're just to well coached.
Because you go through a division, you want to be like, oh,
Buffalo or New England, like, how are those teams gonna
how are they gonna respond? And they both playoff teams. Again,

the your division, Danny, the AFC West, Like is Kansas
City go from six and eleven to their winning ways. Again,
there's Harbond, you know, Herbert with McDaniel, now get it together.
I'm so confused. There the NFC that's confused, the NFC South.
Maybe maybe you say, oh, Baker Mayfield's in charge again.
I think the team with the most clarity, even more

so than you're defending champs the Seahawks. My Niners, if healthy,
I think are great. But I think the Rams I
would be stunned if worst case scenario they're a ten
eleven win wild card. They're just stacked, they got weapons,
They're well coached. Miles Garrett, I think I think that
the Rams are the most clear team to me then,
and I hate to say that as a Niners fan.

I went with another very well coached team, Chicago with

Give me your team clarity. I got confidence in Clarity
because you have you have a front row seat to
what's going on, and you're reminded how good the Seahawks

are and they just seem to be getting better. So hey,
call me prisoner of the moment watching Hard Knocks. But
I'm sold on Sam Darnold. I'm sold on that spin rate.
I'm solding that young kid Price who's got some speed,
Cooper Cup. The team is solid, the chemistry is so
visibly there. A couple wasn't a factor last year. So
unless you predict, like you know he's back or something,

I mean I feel that might be Yeah, and just
watching it, you do buy into it. Like you said,
you could buy into all these teams. I gotta go
with the Seahawks, And yeah, Dan Byer would be real
happy to hear that, Sam or far as any team
you want to throw out there, aasac Low and Crown.

the off season. Clueless, this is gonna this is really
out there.

The Buffalo Bills. Yeah to you, they could be a
super Bowl contender or fall flat. New leadership, new leadership,
new coach, new stadium vibes, knew everything now when it
comes to clarity, I just I don't know about the
Bills as far as clarity, but as far as being due,
like they would be my team to win at all,
you know what I mean, they just because there's that

that's just my fun little But who's you're confusing where
you're like, dude, I don't know like you're taking you know,
when we're just talking around in the hallways here at
Fox Sports Radio, all the new dudes here, JB and

marks when it comes to New York football Giants who
might be a sleeper playoff team according to what I'm

say maybe you're a sleeper playoff and then you don't

be so for me being an East Coast dude, and
and you know, I got a lot of friends and
relatives that are Giants fans. I'm just hearing too much,
too much mixed sort of vibe on the Giants to

I'm still a little clueless on the Detroit Lions. Are
they gonna make it back to where they were two
years ago? Last year took a step back. The only
lost a lot of really talented coordinators, but they still
got a lot of I mean, Jami or Gibbs just
got paid. All these they got they got guys. So
I think they be one bad season or whether or
are they back to being the Lions. I think they're
gonna I think they will jump back into playoff contention.

I think I'll give you one team, but I think
in general, the NFC East is one big like don't like.
I think no one could, No one with confidence could
tell me that. I got a really great read on
those four teams. But I think in particular the Washington Commanders,
based on what they've lost, they have eight new starters
on defense. Two years ago, they're in the NFC Championship

Game and people are calling Jayden Daniels the best rookie
quarterback of all time. Year they were exciting. You know,
he gets hurt. They have a fallback season last year,
but could they go back to being ten eleven wins?
Are the Commanders? What are they trash staying in the
NFC East?

To paraphrase eighty nine year old Dustin Hoffman from either
yesterday or the day before. I know nothing about the
Dallas Cowboys, but I like him like they're ready. I mean,

the NFL today, starting with the NFL suspending Atlanta Falcons
defensive end James Pierce eight games for violating the Personal
Conduct policy. Pierce was arrested back in February on charges
that included felony aggravated battery with the deadly weapon, felony
resisting an officer with violence, and misdemeanor aggravated stalking. His

legal team later made a deal for the charges to
be dismissed if Pierce completes an intervention program. NFL also
suspended Commander's defensive end Dorrence Armstrong one game for violating
the personal conduct policy, Titans cornerback Nazie Johnson six games
for violating the Performance Enhancing Substances policy, and Bill's defensive

tackle Federa Mathis three games for violating the substance abuse policy.
In non suspension news, YEA who Sports reported Seattle Seahawks
defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence will retire after the twenty twenty

Fernanda Mendoza, because he had a night. He did everything

you could expect from a first round draft pick in
his debut game. The pressure behind it, following Cousins, who
was also amazing last night Fernando ten for sixteen ninety
seven yards and one tuddy and just said all the
right things about it's a learning experience. See I disagree.

Lasers though that he that one laser he threw stone
dark between those three defenders.

That's the highlights. That's the first Fernando Mendoza highlight we've seen,
because he really did place that ball where it's the

I have observations from all the games and watching all
the recaps, and like you said, is this on NFL

Fernando Mendoza. He looked good in your silver and black, Danny.
He looked sharp, looked like he belonged. I loved watching.
Oh there he is not only that, like when he

takes the field, everybody's super super pumped about it, like
the out behind him. That's gotta feel good. Everyone wants
to see him, even raiders haters want to see this
dude do well, I would imagine. But the fans are
behind him big time, so that's that's a plus.

Yes, maybe the other maybe like twenty teams to be done.

observations there. But it did remind me that even if
they're quiet or a little subdued NFL starting quarterbacks there's
only thirty two of them, and they have to have
some type of alpha swagger about them. And I just
wonder if his like aw shucks, Fernando Vibe is gonna
geil with fifty two other grown men in the locker room,

Like I wonder if he needs to be a little more.
You can't make someone be someone they're not. He is
a goofy dude, but an ultimate competitor. So I think,
like we see guys like Bryce Young, who was on
our show during the Super Bowl last year. Very soft spoken,
mild mannered, but you have to imagine that when they're
in the huddle, they command respect and they put a
different face on. Yeah, I mean to take things to

that level, they have to have a killer instinct. We
just don't see it because their their personality, their demeanor
when not in uniform, it's just different. You can't expect
I'm not expecting everyone to be the ultimate alpha bro
like Baker Mayfield who's telling everyone to you and flex
and he's great. Though I love Baker, I do love that.
But you want more confidence from your Yeah, but don't

like a Raiders fan and the Raiders team and their
reputation and have two of the nerdiest quarterbacks of all
time and they both showed up like to me, Max
Crosby's a Raider. Yeah, yeah, yeah, definitely mean tattoos. But

these guys, these guys are killers on the field, that's
all you want. But I think a lot of observations
about Mendoza last night, we'd love to hear from you
eight seven, seven, nine to nine on Fox. Now within
that same game, let's slip to the Cardinals, who I
think are gonna win what I say, one or two games.

you said maybe none. Yeah, and Covino and I argued

Like you know, they won three last year. I think

be excited about a lot of young players.

They are a mirror image of the Raiders, where there
are new blood in the building on the sidelines and yeah,
brand new head coach that's bringing some new flavor to

The offenses have weapons on that on the offensive side
of the ball for both teams, but the defense lacks
for the Cardinals. The defense lacks right now for the Raiders.
So both those teams I think are gonna score points.
So it's what they're going to give up a lot
of points. Somebody you would say that, because you're right,
where is the game won? They would say in the trenches, right,
offensive line, defensive line, special teams, the intangibles, the things

you don't see on paper, the things that are not
sexy draft picks. Right, when a team picks an offensive lineman.

In the first round, you're like, oh man, boring, But
that is what eventually will win you ballgames. But when
you look at the Raiders and you say, for an
Indo Mendoza, Genty Bowers.

Mike Washington, Mike Washington Junior, you are Sime rip off,
that fifty three yard run.

Dude has speed. He dominated the combine. If you guys
remember that's how I remembered him, and then seeing him
bounce off defenders and explode. He had explosive speed. Yesterday
definitely turned a lot of heads.

Jack Besch, who was under used by of course the
old regime. And then you saw Malik Benson out of
Oregon look really good in the game.

And then when you look Dandy g to the Cardinals,
Beck looked great the other day, right, stud receivers and
Marvin Harrison Junior. Jeremiah Loves like a show.

He I knew and we when we were arguing about
the Cardinals schedule, I told you, you think a team
with Jeremiah Love is gonna win only two games even
for a bad season for them March, that's four wins.

Now that they're gonna win two games, but in a
couple of years they will be formidable. But what happened
to genty last year? Remember we all were so pumped,
and you're like, well, the Laron still needs more work
and it's not a finished product. I feel like I
feel like the Cardinals almost like a year behind what

Boy, I look like Jeremiah Love can get through the
crowd even with a subpar over.

I'm not saying Derek Henry esque. There's no it's not
a great comparison, but some running backs just look bigger
than others like, there's so many running backs that would whoop
your ass, but they're more compact. If it makes it,
Jeremiah Love just looks like a beast of a dude,

against what second and third stringers, but Jeremiah Love looked

very much like he could be one of the top
five or so running backs in the NFL this year.
He just had something about him. And I know it's preseason,
I know it's time to, you know, make crazy observations,
but Jeremiah Love, look out. Well, Mendoza, the Raiders weren't
pretty much the biggest story of the night just because
of his star power and who Mendoza is, and we
get to see him play rich would you think you're

How do you feel about that? Hold on? No, I
have observations, But look at at Jeremiah Love with a
not elite offensive line. Picture him against a Rams defense.

Warner's in the middle, and then or Seattle's defense. These

are who Jeremiah Love are gonna have to go against
in real life.

you going to be exciting if they stay healthy. It's
as simple as that. And they've yet to prove that
they can. Every year we've said that for the past

three four years straight. Is the facility? Is it the
uh electrons? Whatever's going on there? Electron electrodes? What is
going on at the facility? Isaac? When I say forty

they stay healthy, they're gonna be great. And you know,

wide receiver than a tight end because he gets a
ton of touches. When I say number fifteen, do you
still think Michael Crabtree as well? I still look at
when I see him like, oh Crabtree and now number
fifteen strippling? Do you think he could be an impact player?
Or two songs? But we thought Pearsall was going to
be a good impact player and he really did nothing
last year and he's been hurt most of the time.

look how this guy moved. I'm not alone, man, You're
not alone. Everyone loved everyone freaking loves the NFL. I

Jon Lee Boneley, he's a he's a Commander's fan, JB.
J bone and he's a big Commander's fan. And I said,
your team to me is so confusing. I feel like
this weekend, Danny, I want to do a deep dive
on the Commanders because I feel like this team two
years ago was in the NFC Championship game. Last year,

Jaden Daniel's injuries and everything. Really can't write them off
after year. But there's teams like the NFL. I think
NFL dot Com or NFL Network ranked them twenty ninth.
That seems ridiculous. They were in the I don't know

little Jaye and Daniels on Quarterback.

watching at Netflix between Hard Knocks episode two, premiered this week,

every year there's like five new teams to make the playoffs,

sudden starts sucking. And that's just the NFL. That's the
fun parody, as I always say, in the National Football League.
So I asked you, guys, what is the one team
period that gives you all the clarity in the world
and who's the most confusing? And I have I have
my answers that I think they're obvious to me. I
think clarity. And I hate to say it because I

feel like they're all in and they're in my division.
But I would be shocked if the Rams aren't just
really good, right. I think they have to be a
top three number for everybody. Yeah, they're just to well coached.
Because you go through a division, you want to be like, oh,
Buffalo or New England, like, how are those teams gonna
how are they gonna respond? And they both playoff teams. Again,

the your division, Danny, the AFC West, Like is Kansas
City go from six and eleven to their winning ways. Again,
there's Harbond, you know, Herbert with McDaniel, now get it together.
I'm so confused. There the NFC that's confused, the NFC South.
Maybe maybe you say, oh, Baker Mayfield's in charge again.
I think the team with the most clarity, even more

so than you're defending champs the Seahawks. My Niners, if healthy,
I think are great. But I think the Rams I
would be stunned if worst case scenario they're a ten
eleven win wild card. They're just stacked, they got weapons,
They're well coached. Miles Garrett, I think I think that
the Rams are the most clear team to me then,
and I hate to say that as a Niners fan.

I'm still a little clueless on the Detroit Lions. Are
they gonna make it back to where they were two
years ago? Last year took a step back. The only
lost a lot of really talented coordinators, but they still
got a lot of I mean, Jami or Gibbs just
got paid. All these they got they got guys. So
I think they be one bad season or whether or
are they back to being the Lions. I think they're
gonna I think they will jump back into playoff contention.

I think I'll give you one team, but I think
in general, the NFC East is one big like don't like.
I think no one could, No one with confidence could
tell me that. I got a really great read on
those four teams. But I think in particular the Washington Commanders,
based on what they've lost, they have eight new starters
on defense. Two years ago, they're in the NFC Championship

Game and people are calling Jayden Daniels the best rookie
quarterback of all time. Year they were exciting. You know,
he gets hurt. They have a fallback season last year,
but could they go back to being ten eleven wins?
Are the Commanders? What are they trash staying in the
NFC East?

yesterday or the day before. I know nothing about the
Dallas Cowboys, but I like him like they're ready. I mean,

the NFL today, starting with the NFL suspending Atlanta Falcons
defensive end James Pierce eight games for violating the Personal
Conduct policy. Pierce was arrested back in February on charges
that included felony aggravated battery with the deadly weapon, felony
resisting an officer with violence, and misdemeanor aggravated stalking. His

legal team later made a deal for the charges to
be dismissed if Pierce completes an intervention program. NFL also
suspended Commander's defensive end Dorrence Armstrong one game for violating
the personal conduct policy, Titans cornerback Nazie Johnson six games
for violating the Performance Enhancing Substances policy, and Bill's defensive

tackle Federa Mathis three games for violating the substance abuse policy.
