Sam Bayer, Spotty you Fox Sports Radio. Let's rod out.
Oh right, feeling good today? I hope you had a guardian's.
Guardian's that nice way, and I'm glad they tied it up. Guardians,
Let's go Yankees. You want those teams to tire each
other out, exactly. Let's go Yankees with the clinch and
a forty nine ers type of night. And now we
get ready for the weekend. Man, the nerves are high, Rich,
(01:24):
I don't know how you survived last night between your
Niners and all the baseball going on.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
I hit our parlay right, my restit. Let's do the
CNR parlay Niners Yankees.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Yeah, man, So an action packed night is gonna be
an action packed day. This weekend's gonna be crazy. You know,
before we talk about your forty nine ers, Rich, because
I know you have a big thought about them needing
to finish. Can I just say I want the Fox
Sports Radio nation to be aware of Luke Weaver. He
might be the guy that, when all said and done,
(01:55):
you're like, how did I do not know about this dude?
Because even I'm thinking that as a Yankees fan, he
might be the secret weapon that puts the Yankees over
the top this season. And he's becoming one of those
colorful guys like Hey, did you hear what he said? Oh,
he's saying a lot of weird things. You know, he's
a weird interview. He's an eccentric guy and he's delivering. Man,
(02:16):
did you see him growling on the mound last night
when he closed it out? He might be the guy
that puts him ahead. Luke Weaver been in the league
eight years, but you would think he's like twenty two
years old. He's thirty one years old. It seems like
he found his pitch or his confidence and he's in
the zone and he says he feels like a wild
jungle cat out there. So look out, man. I'm telling you,
I just want you to pay attention. I want you
(02:37):
guys to bring back Clay Holmes. That made him more interesting.
No no, no, no, see, but they found their formula,
Clay Holmes in the middle innings, Luke Weaver out of nowhere,
the surprising superstar, you know, really closing out the games,
making the Yankees look strong, and just props to the
big bats coming through, like Big g Gian Carlo, Aaron
Judge starting to hit again. Glaber Torres is in his zone,
(02:58):
and I really appreciated JOHNK. Carlo Stanton's sportsmanship at the
end of the game that you saw too. He went
over to Wit Junior. Wit was in the dugout just
watching this taking it all in. He lost in Kansas
City at home, and John Carlos Stanton at the end
of the game went up to him and probably said, Yo, man,
you're the guy. You got a bright future. Don't even
worry about it, Like, just get him next time when
(03:19):
the Yankees are done. I thought that sportsmanship. Yeah, I
like it some of the takeaways. So I'm pumped as
a Yankees fan. And now let's talk about your forty
nine ers.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
Now.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
I do want to wish everyone the best of luck
on the West Coast. Dodgers fans Padres fans. Tonight's going
to be a battle, I don't. I mean, my buddy
Sean's hanging in the studio, Danny g You guys have
got to have that a little bit of a nervous
stomach because all year Padres Dodgers, Padres Dodgers, there's been battles,
a battle, and it comes down to one game tonight,
I know, right here in La Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
And the other night was the first time the Dodgers
had their backs up against the wall all season. It
was their first must win. Tonight as the second must
win of the season.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Dude, rivalries real Now. I feel like we're gonna see
a lot of fireworks. We're gonna see a lot of
intensity tonight. Man, there's one story about it.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
There's one story out of tonight that I want to
know if it's BS or not, and it has to
do with one Manny Machado. We'll get to that in
a second. But I did want to say this time
of the year, as they say, spooky season, postseason, bro
some cool things to do with the kids, Pumpkin patches
and hay rides and haunted houses, playoff baseball football. If
your schedule's not packed, I don't know what you're doing,
(04:30):
because I feel like it's jam pack from start to finish.
You're watching all your sports, You're trying to do things
with the kids.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Now you're doing a haunted hay ride tonight or so.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
I'm watching the Dodgers game and then I'm doing a
haunted hay ride at this Calabasas pumpkin thing.
Speaker 4 (04:41):
So it's it's the best time of the year.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Parties, you got a shop for a costume, you gotta
go to Spirit Halloween. Pick something up.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
If your mom's anything like my mom, she thinks the
photoshops of did you see they turned Citizens Bank and
Philly into a Spirit Halloween.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
I'm like, Mom, that's it's not real.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
But my point is this, if you bump into other
parents at the school or other coworkers and they don't
know what's going on, I just can't relate to the
life they live. Like there's people that are like, oh,
they have a Dodger's hat on me, while I'm like,
what are the Dodgers on You're like, what do you mean?
Speaker 1 (05:16):
What are the Dodgers? Those people deserve I'm not saying
to do it, let me get clear, but they deserve
a karate kick to the chest.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
It's it's wild to me.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Weiry every Friday morning, there's a school assembly at my
kid's school, like get a little like, hey, who gets
the you know, good kid of the Week award? And
they do the pledge and they do the announcements. So
you see all the other parents on Friday morning. I
saw a bunch of dads and Dodger hats. So I
was trying to be polite like, hey, good luck tonight
big game. Would you believe like two of the dad's like,
what's tonight?
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Yeah, I could believe it, and they were probably wearing crocs.
I know the dads, trust me. I get them. I
get it tonight a bunch of wienies. They'll be one
of them.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
I mean, I'm not telling you to be extreme like me.
The minute the Mets win, I book a plane tickets
in New York next week. That's a little extreme. On
the other end, you gotta be passionate. And if you're not,
then don't be wearing a Dodgers hat. You nerd, false advertising.
Nerd Seriously, no, I mean I think you're doing the
right thing. You you acknowledge you're not rooting for the Dodgers.
You see some GIBBRONI wearing a Dodger's hat. You're just saying, hey,
(06:14):
good luck, hey I and they're like game time, right man.
They don't know what's going on. They're the idiots, not you.
Speaker 4 (06:20):
Good thank you for backing me up.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
I think we see that in every city, major city though,
when a team is winning. Oh yeah, yeah, for every
fake blowny you know, eating fan or non fan, there's
a diehard.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Yeah, Yeah, I'm not picking on like the Dodgers by
any means. It's everywhere you'll see where you live now.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Yeah, Now there's a dat at the school, George jog
who's like you know that that dude is all about
the Dodgers. Every time I see him like that, we
don't have a conversation.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
That doesn't mean to.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
Do with Doyers.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
Yeah, telling you about the depth chart I'm feeling.
Speaker 4 (06:50):
I'm feeling it out here, the love for the Dodgers.
I'm an East Coast guy at heart. You know this.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
But there's something that's going down tonight, and I will
get into the Niners Cavino, but I'm gonna pull and audible.
I'm gonna go to the bullpen a little earlier than
I thought. Ah, call for the Lefty, call for Luke Weaver,
bro Tanya Lou.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
I heard he's a jungle cat. He's a wild jungle cat.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
Is this true?
Speaker 2 (07:11):
Danny g That Manny Machado has been known over the
years to feed off of the negative energy like he's
one of those guys that bo he loves you to
bring ith that tonight, Dodger fans are all trying to
get in sync with each other that anytime Machado's up,
dead silence.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
This went viral. I'm not sure if everybody in the
stadium is going to do it or not, but it's
a good idea.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
I think they should to mix it up, rattle them
a little bit. That's nerve wrecking. You step up and
it's quiet, Yo, that could get in his head. It's
not a bad idea. I've never seen it done. How
about this dead silence? And then right as the picture
releases the pitch, one guy goes guss, yo, why not
get in his head?
Speaker 2 (07:55):
But I thought that was a cool little story I
read this morning. So if you're in the southern californ
in your area, if you hear that tonight, if you're
just watching, like, wow, it's pretty quiet Machado's up. The
strategy that Dodger fans are trying to implore the fans
to do is give Manny Machado the silent treatment.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
To them, Oh, it's gonna be great, man, great games tonight.
Super pumped about it exactly. If you don't know man, yeah,
we're not friends. We're just different cats. Like if you're
not excited. I've seen a few people saying this on
social media. I couldn't agree more. We're saying it on
Fox Sports Radio. If you're not excited about the postseason
(08:33):
right now, we're not the same cat. We're not friends,
We're not thinking on the same level. I'm not saying
you need to be a crazy sports guy and your
whole life revolves around sports, your all identity revolves around it.
But if you're not tuning in to this postseason the
way these teams have been playing, you and I are
not the same guy. I don't even know if I
could be friends with you.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
I told you the other night, I was playing softball
and the Dodgers Padre's game was on, and the dugout
every dude had his phone propped up on his baseball bag.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Dude, it's anxiety inducing, it really is. That's how crazy
this postseason has been. Like how many times nervous there
were smoking cigarettes? Like was he? If your team's in
it right now, even if you're not, if you're just
a passionate fan of good baseball, are you sitting around
or do you find yourself like I'm like cleaning, I'm
like sweeping the floor, I'm like doing all these things
because my nerves are through the roof, like I can't
(09:23):
sit there and just watch. I'm like standing up, I'm
walking around. I'm calling a friend, like, ah, that's how
I feel watching this.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
My wife thinks I'm just being a good husband. She
doesn't realize the house is completely perfect because I nervous clean. Yes,
in between pitches, I'm pacerral, I'm fluffing pillows, I'm picking
up my toys.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
Does everybody do this or is it just us too crazy?
Speaker 3 (09:44):
Meaning I do it as well. Like my wife, you
noticed the other day, she said, Man, Cohen's toys are
all organized, and you've.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
Got one eye on the TV and then the other
eyes like I can't watch and you're doing something else.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
The other day, no joke. During one of the Mets
Phillies games, I had the pledge out. I was I
was cleaning the wood tables and I was cleaning end tables.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
I was, seriously, that's how crazy it's been. So enjoy it.
I saw something else too, and I could just steal
it as my own, but it isn't. Some other guy
on social media said this, take it in. Take it
in like for a second. Also think about, Hey, if
your team doesn't win, just take it in. If they
(10:30):
don't move on, just take it in because you don't
know when you're gonna see it again. Whether you're a
Padres fan, Dodgers fan, Yankees fan, Mets fan, Cleveland whatever, Tigers,
you don't know when they're gonna be here again. Enjoy
it because these teams are battling, and I'm sort of torn.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
As a Mets fan.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
I wait around knowing no figuring, well, we're giving you
so much, Who's no Who's next? And I have a
lot of good friends that are Dodgers fans, but there's
a part of me that's like, well, if the Padres win,
then all these Dodger fans will be my friend. The
next week is they'll just want the Padres.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
To lose so bad. So I'm like, do I want.
Speaker 4 (11:03):
Allies or do I want to face the Dodgers?
Speaker 1 (11:06):
Ah?
Speaker 2 (11:07):
But uh hey, it's gonna be a battle tonight. I
know both teams would beg for a blowout. But the
baseball fan, don't you want like a four to four
game eighth ninth inning and that's when Otani or Machado
or Tatis or Mookie someone has a chance.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
To be the hero.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
You want that? I want another eight to nothing onres.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
Like f that six run first. Yeah, is Darvis chishing tonight?
Speaker 1 (11:34):
Yeah he is?
Speaker 4 (11:34):
Yeah you Is he in the head of Otani or what?
Speaker 3 (11:40):
I don't know, but last time Otani faced him and
we know it was his childhood hero and all that.
Otani kind of had like a funny look on his face,
almost like he was in awe.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
Of this guy. Yeah, you had a breakdown.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
I hope he comes out with the eye of the
tiger tonight.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
Instead, there's a lot of international pride on the line tonight.
These Japanese players play with a different level of pride sometimes,
and I think it's going to be intense. I can't
wait to watch this game. So enjoy your baseball now, Kevino.
Last night, congrats to your Yankees. Yeah, I was watching
man Bob cost Is on delay. Finally just made the
last call.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
Yes, Yankees with a lot of people are thrilled that
they don't have to deal with him, and I say
that respectfully. Look, the postseason has been phenomenal because of
all the big moments in all the great games. The
one place where MLB's dropping the ball is not giving
us the broadcasters that were accustomed to that were used
to create that extra hype. Imagine if you had your
(12:36):
guys calling the game. I told you, it would have
just been next level entertainment. There was an article in
Sports Illustrated. But listen, I've been saying it for years.
It's impossible because of contracts and money and network deals.
But I always thought it would be fascinating if in
the postseason you either alternated or combined boots like I
(12:57):
was thinking of when the metsro playing the Phillies. Imagine
they said, all right, on Kruk and Keith Hernandez, you
guys will join the booth with Gary Cohen and McCarthy,
and it's just like some mixmash fun both teams are represented.
I get, that's impossible.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
Butt it.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
That's like a weird pipe tream. I don't want to
sound like a baby about it. I'm just saying that's
the only only complaint I've had this entire postseason or
that I've heard.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
It's been magical. So embrace it, love it, sports baby.
Speaker 5 (13:24):
Now.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Last night, I'm sow in a Mets mindset, but you
know I'm a Mets and Niners guy. The Niners jump
out to a twenty three to three lead. I'm sorry,
Dan Bayer. First half your team looked flat and then
there came a point in that game they had the
kickoff return, then they drove the ball down the field.
(13:45):
I you blink it, it's twenty three seventeen. Was there
a part of everyone that was like, this is happening
to the forty nine ers again? Seattle had the ball
and until a turnover, I had that sense like, yo,
are you kidding me? Are they gonna lose twenty twenty three?
Speaker 1 (14:01):
Again?
Speaker 4 (14:01):
One point? Just letting this slip away?
Speaker 2 (14:03):
The forty nine ers have such a hard time finishing
when healthy, when they're clicking, I still feel like they're
one of the elites of the NFC, but they have
this ridiculous hard time.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
I've said it for weeks in a row.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
Now, Finish stepping on the throat of their oppony. Finish
running back in, run them back in the game.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
I mean, your your Seahawks.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
Are still three and three. But did you get that
sense that the Niners can't finish?
Speaker 6 (14:26):
I yeah, it did feel like it was a different
Niners team, And honestly, when the Seahawks held them to
field goals, I still felt all right.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
They're in it.
Speaker 6 (14:35):
They're not down twenty eight to nothing. It was sixteen nothing.
They ended up kicking the field goal at the end
of the half, and I just there there was a
different feel. There is a different field because I think
the forty nine ers are different. And I don't know
if you guys, I think it was you guys yesterday
we're just talking about. You had these these teams that
we've seen in the past get off to these slow starts,
(14:56):
and you're waiting for them to turn it around, and
I I just don't know if it's going to happen.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
I just don't.
Speaker 3 (15:01):
I actually have more concerns with their defense rich than
their offense.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
Same same and uh, you know, secondary was a little
banged up, but everyone has injuries at this point of
the season. I just think that the Niners are benefiting
from a division that's not that strong, and to be honest,
a conference that I feel is not that strong even
right now.
Speaker 4 (15:21):
Danny g at three and three.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
If the playoffs started in a week or so from now,
is there an NFC team that you'd certainly bet for
against the forty nine ers. No, The AFC, I feel
like has a lot of the power teams right now.
I feel like right now I would, I would feel
as though you'd see a similar thing to last year,
maybe Lions, Niners, Packers Niners, maybe Vikings if they if
(15:44):
that defense shows up right there having Vikings, they're defeated, but.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
All the all the all the love is in the
AFC to me.
Speaker 3 (15:51):
Yeah, I like Detroit a lot. Yeah, so I would.
I would put them in that conversation.
Speaker 6 (15:55):
But I think we do the same thing with the
Eagles as well, like we want to give them more
credit than maybe actually who they really are.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
Just like we are waiting for the forty nine ers
to turn the corner and play like that team you
expect them to be. I feel like there's also a
feeling on the opposite side of we're waiting for the
Vikings to turn the quarter.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
Yeah and be human and be s surm Yeah right, wait,
waiting for the wheels off. But Ole Sam said the
Vikings are the worst, and Sam Donalds thinks, but sometimes
I know that's who they are.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
Plenty of time left for that to happen, well, Rich,
And that's why I said no, because I just feel
like we need a couple more weeks of the NFL
under our belt to see who teams truly are. You
guys made a great point the other day that we're
still figuring out who most teams are right now.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
Yeah, I was the Boss is a big Vikings fan.
I said to him earlier today that five and oh start.
You know what that enables you to do?
Speaker 1 (16:47):
Now? You calling the boss? We kissing a Davis?
Speaker 3 (16:54):
Tell us you talk to the boss.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Yeah, I was getting you a raised Danny jail. My
dad just shut off the radio.
Speaker 5 (16:59):
Man. My dad hate when people ki kiss as you.
I'd beat you always. I was like, hey, Boston fight
the Vikings is the greatest type. When you start out
five and oh, ripe.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Bolls, I think they're just going to continue on and
play well a skull away. I always thought Donalds would
be great for your team. Yeah, purple is my favorite color, Grimace.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
When your team starts out five and oh, what you've done, though,
is that you've enabled yourself. Now, if the Vikings play
five hundred football the rest of the season and go
six and six.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
They're eleven and six and that's easily a wildcard.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
So that five and oh start really does give you
the ability to go through that slump and when you
think of who the Vikings have beat, arguably the toughest
part of their schedule, they will, they will have a
hiccup along the way. It happens, but they if you
looked at the Viking schedule, they've beaten some of the
teams that you were like, well, they'll lose that, they'll
(17:58):
lose that, they'll lose that. So we say it every year,
even the best teams lose four or five games a season, right,
so it's bound to happen. My other takeaway, Rich, not
only was it like, oh man, the forty nine ers,
they're going to do the same thing. They're slipping, they
can't finish, was Gino Smith getting a little frustrated.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
Did you see it? Like he sounded miked up and
he's like, what y'all do?
Speaker 3 (18:20):
What y'all know?
Speaker 1 (18:22):
What that y'all doing? That was kind of funny to see,
you know. And I like that fire too. I like
seeing that fire that he plays with in his expectations.
You know, some misplays, you know, him and Metcalf we're
a little off the page for a second, but you know,
thirty six twenty four props your nineers, Rich, they ended
up winning.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
Yeah, No, I mean, listen, they needed that win. But
to back up what I said about the Viking schedule
the early part of their season, you thought they may
encounter some trouble. Listen who the Vikings beat so far?
This is not a soft five and oh okay, right,
both skull the Vikings. They started against the Giants, there's
(19:04):
a win right there, right, But after that, they beat
the Niners, they beat C. J. Stroud and the Texans,
They beat the Packers, and they beat the Jets, who,
with Aaron Rodgers, was projected to be a great team.
So four of their five wins are against teams that
were projected to be playoff teams.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
Yeah, that's pretty impressive.
Speaker 4 (19:23):
They have all a lot of divisional battles left, but
you know, mixed in there.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
They play who's their next three games? Can be their
next three? Yeah, they play this is gonna be a
good one.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
On the twentieth they play at home against the Lions,
divisional battle game. That's a test right there. And then
they play the Rams, the Colts, and the Jags, which
again those are winnable games. So man, the Vikings, I
know Minnesota fans are very skeptical to get excited in
any sport. I mean Kirby puckets or last Glory wins.
(19:56):
Twins are for sale right now, buy them, I might
who knows? So anyway, your thoughts on last night's game.
The forty nine ers need to finish. Plus we got
a story about Molik neighbors and Rich's solar power parlay.
Can't wait a lot of NFL playoff baseball. I mean,
what's what's the better time of the year than right now?
I can't think of one?
Speaker 4 (20:15):
All right now?
Speaker 2 (20:16):
The best part of the football season. Checking those postgame stats.
Which wide out scores more than more than two tutties,
Which quarterback threw for more or less than three hundred
and fifty yards? Think you could pick who will do
what before a game?

Speaker 4 (21:45):
Is that that cool video they had with the treadmills.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
You've had a couple cool videos, Yeah, they had it
wonder right balloons filled with paint. Haven't heard this jam
in the lockdown? This is one of their first hits again.
We're Livenatirack dot com Studios, Iowa Sam on the ones
and TWUESDADANNYG the silky smooth Dan Eg super producer on
the phones A seven seven ninety nine l Fox. Rapid

a swiggy All right, that's a stainless steel water bottle
courtesy of Cavino and Rich. Everything at Covino and Rich
Now Malik Neighbors before we get into your solar power parlay.
(22:52):
Got to talk about this guy, by the way, pressure
for me because the last two weeks, right week we
hit our parlay. Yeah, and if.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
You I don't know, if you've noticed, I'm jinxing myself completely.
We've hit the last two Mondays and Thursdays. Oh I know,
Oh you know, Oh I know. Now, Malik neighbors. You
and I have talked about this, not Malik at at
great lengths, but we've talked about optics in sports and
(23:21):
whether my brother owes me money. I don't want to
see him Hobnobbin has swanky places on social media.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
Again, you know what it makes you want to do? Karate?
Kick him in the chest in the Bahamas?
Speaker 4 (23:33):
You owe me five grand?
Speaker 1 (23:35):
It's optics. It's optics.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
When Joanna Cespidus is on the I L I remember
back in the day, met fans were furious when he
was golfing.
Speaker 4 (23:43):
It's like, you're on the IL what are you golfing for?
Speaker 1 (23:46):
Seriously?
Speaker 2 (23:48):
Why are the Giants going on a boat trip in
South Beach before a playoff game?
Speaker 4 (23:53):
That will always stick with that.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
But there's there's one now that I don't hate, and
I'll explain why, and it's Moleik Neighbors concussion protocol. He
is ineligible this Monday night against the Bengals, and he
was at a Travis Scott concert. He was at a
Travis Scott concert, and Brian Dable addressed.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
This, Yeah, I'll keep I'll keep that all in house, and.
Speaker 4 (24:21):
That's how he addressed it, We'll keep it all in house.
I get it.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
There's a guy that can't be out there Monday night,
but he's at a concert checking out Travis Scott.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
But then again, did he say I prefer house is
in house music?
Speaker 1 (24:36):
Oh? No, house music? All that freestyle? Say what house music?
Call New York Giants Rookie wide receive from Lak Neighbors
was seen partying at Travis Scott's concert last night and
that was Wednesday night. Okay, so this is the article
Wednesday night. Neighbors is still on concussion protocol. Is that
(24:57):
a bad look to you? What do you expect? Do
I get it? He's young, feels invincible. Yeah, it sucks
that he can't play, sucks that he I got a concussion.
But if they're telling him not to and it's a
bad look for the team, and you're getting paid all
this money, But then again, it goes against your human nature.
Like as a guy especially, there's a lot of times
you're like, I got it, I'm fine, I could do it.
(25:19):
I can still do this, And you don't want something
like that to set you back at all.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
But I always want to everyone to keep in mind,
does the activity interfere with anything or go against the injury?
Meaning like optically, Mark Vente's with the Mets. The Mets
have a couple of days off and they're waiting to
decide if they have to go to La or San Diego.
He was at the New York Liberty WNBA game last night.
(25:43):
Are you gonna hold that against Mark Fiental's It's not
as see. Here's the thing, Here's what I don't know
when it comes to concussions. I don't know if loud
music is something you should avoid.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
Do you know that? I don't know that.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
You've got in a pretty big car accident A couple
of weeks ago. We talked about it, and that night
you had an exclusive VIP ticket to the Lincoln Park
show and guess who went.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
Well, guess what I didn't do. I wasn't head banging.
See that's the other thing, Like, you gotta factor that,
you know. I went there as more of a work thing, right, Like,
all right, I gotta go there and show face. I
mean it was great, don't get a twisted. I wanted
to see the band, but I went there for work.
I work in rock radio as well. If I was
going there to CrowdSurf and head bang, I think that
(26:27):
would be counterproductive to my healing of the concussion out now.
I don't know what this dude was doing. Was he
going there chilling backstage? Was he out there acting the fool,
dancing around? Was he again dancing, body surfing, moshin. I
don't know those things. If you were, I'll tell you what.
It's a bad, bad look.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
If you were doing that at the Lincoln Park show,
I could promise you I was, and you were.
Speaker 5 (26:50):
Like no, no new Divide, and you're like in the end.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
If you were rocking out Cadino style and then you
said to the ball the next day, hey boss, you know,
I'm a little banged up from the accident.
Speaker 4 (27:04):
I can't do the show. That's the bad look.
Speaker 1 (27:07):
There you go.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
I bet you Molik Neighbors wants to play, But the
NFL is like, hey, listen, you can't. But also I'm
supposed to just sit on his hand so that you're happy.
Speaker 1 (27:19):
It's a good question. Eight seven seven ninety nine, Oh,
Fox d be any thoughts on the matter.
Speaker 6 (27:24):
Yeah, Actually, I think Kevino's point about the concussion and
loud music, is that really the greatest thing that you
want to do. I also think you have to look
at optics and just on what you guys are basically saying,
is it worth it to be seen at this game?
Speaker 3 (27:38):
To draw this?
Speaker 6 (27:39):
The other two things that I think are important with
this specific situation. Number one, he's a rookie. Okay, it's
not like he's been in the league and has a
lot of equity in the league.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
True.
Speaker 6 (27:48):
And number two, it's the team that he plays for.
And by that, what do we we remember most about
New York Giant wide receivers?
Speaker 4 (27:57):
Exactly like you said on the boat yep.
Speaker 6 (27:59):
On the boat trip. So you take all of that
and I think it's a bad luck all of that.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
But Travis h.
Speaker 2 (28:05):
Molik Neighbors did comment he set up but do you
know how much booties at these shows?
Speaker 4 (28:10):
He didn't say that.
Speaker 1 (28:11):
He didn't. Yes, And oh, I'm sorry.
Speaker 6 (28:14):
I was just gonna say it looked like he was
trying to duck from a camera or like hide, So
you kind of know that may like in one of
the camera things that I saw, so you knew that
he knew that he shouldn't be there. It's just you
add all that together, and I.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
Think he must have went to web MD two dB
because I just went there. It says, besides finding out
I have a week to live, it says too much
noise can make symptoms worse. Listen to music at low
volume or not at all. Always take care of your
hearing and airs, especially when you are fighting concussion. What
about like light shows too flashing lights. Jason McIntyre brought
(28:47):
this up on the head.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
That can't be good. It can't. I'll tell you what, man,
Like I said, I sort of experienced this recently. I
followed doctor's orders. You know, they said you got earplugs.
I'm like, yeah, always you're to plug. It's dark room
and chill. Yeah, And I still felt hazed, hazy. You know,
Foggy felt weird about it. And this guy's playing in
the NFL. He's hit in his head all the time.
(29:08):
It's not the best idea. It's not the best look,
you know, did it cause extra damage rich Probably not.
But again he's out there, and if something were to prolong,
like an injury prolonged as a result, they will go
back to well, here he is at the Travis Scott concert.
You don't want to give anybody ammunition against him.
Speaker 6 (29:28):
I do think Malik Neighbors did meet with the guys
from Rapid Radios and their wives earlier this week, so
right after his concussion, just like you what.
Speaker 4 (29:38):
A guy, team player, that's it.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
That's another interesting thing because that's how I was sort
of explaining when something like that happens. I'm not trying
to compare a car accident to a concussion in the NFL.
I was out of it, right, but there was a
part of me that was like, well, I'm not going
to let this unfortunate situation get in my way, you know,
because then that just makes me more angry and and
(30:02):
more pissed about what just happened. So I'm like, I'm
still gonna go forward with our meeting. Like we had
a meeting with Rapid Radios right after that happened, and
I went there and I was a little out of sorts,
But I didn't want it to get my way of
my life and my fun even though something crappy happened.
And that's probably his mindset, like, man, I can't play,
I got a concussion. I was supposed to go see
(30:23):
Travis Scott. Well, I'm not gonna let that get in
the way. That's the mindset. I get it, you know,
but sometimes you got to sit out, man, social media
and if your celebrity cameras everywhere, this is uh, by
the way he could afford to sit out.
Speaker 2 (30:35):
It's a recipe for disaster. How many times have you
sort of ducked out of plans? It could be with
like parents at the school, like oh, we gonna do
that play date with the kids, and you're.
Speaker 4 (30:43):
Like, yeah, I'm a little busy, can't do it.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
And you're like, now, I can't post me out with
other people that day, no one, because then they'll be like, oh,
you couldn't you couldn't do that, but you did this.
Speaker 4 (30:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
Remember when you say no to something, you're saying yes
to something else. And if you're gonna advertise it on
social media, not necessarily a great look. And speaking of concussions,
I don't know if you're watching it, maybe it comes
up in Weekend Hobnobbing, But American Sports Story Aaron Hernandez,
they really paint a pretty good picture of the damage
(31:16):
these players are doing to themselves just at practice and
at the game, and how foggy they paint Aaron Hernandez
to be, you know, when he's out and about, like
his head is just ringing the whole time. You know,
we take for granted, I think sometimes what these players
put themselves through, So it would probably be in his
best interest to just relax.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
My biggest observation was the guy that played Gronk had
his left down.
Speaker 1 (31:41):
It was Gronk's friend. Actually that's in front of his friends. Yeah,
and if you're not watching it, I suggest you watch it.
And I'm not comparing Aaron Hernandez and what he went
through and what he did to anything Malik Nighbors is
going through. But I'm just saying a lot of times
they're probably going through this, so it seems like no
big deal, right, So for us, we're like, yo, dude,
(32:04):
you need to relax. For him, it's like yo, man,
my bell's wrong like three times a week, and he's thinking,
I feel fine in this moment right, I can't play
in the game because I haven't passed a proto call.
But from our standpoint, it's not a good look for him.
It's like, Yo, what do you want me to do?
Speaker 4 (32:21):
Well?
Speaker 2 (32:21):
Your thoughts at COVID on retcher eight seven, seven, nine
to nine on Fox, I got the Solar power parlay
that we've hit the last.
Speaker 4 (32:27):
Couple of weeks.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
We'll do a three team moneyline parlay, but first we
go to Dan Buyer for an update dB guys.
Speaker 6 (32:33):
On the heels of the concussion talk, the NFL and
NFL Players' Association released a joint statement saying that proper
concussion protocol was followed in regard to an apparent head
injury suffered by Bill's quarterback Josh Allen in their Week
five game against the Houston Texans. The Bills will take
on the Jets coming up on Monday night. On Sunday Night,
it's the Milik Neighbors less New York Giants against the
(32:56):
Cincinnati Bengals. Giants running back Devin Singerlitary considered a question
mark for that game. More injury news, Danny's Raiders taking
on the Steelers. We know Russell Wilson's going to back
up Justin Fields in that game. And we also know
that DeVante Adams is not going to play. He's been
ruled out because of a hamstring injuries, and Mere White
and Jacoby Myers questionable. Max Crosby, though good, good to
(33:17):
go for that game. Colt running back Jonathan Taylor's going
to miss another game with a sprained ankle. He's out
against the Titans. Anthony Richardson a game time decision four Indy,
but there's a report from ESPN that says Richardson is
likely to play in the game. Officially, they'll listed as questionable.
Will Levis will start a quarterback for Tennessee. A couple
of other injury notes to pass along guys. The Chargers
say Joey Bosa and Rashaun Slater are questionable to go
(33:39):
up against the Broncos. Justin Herbert is off the injury report.
No Romandre Stevenson for the Patriots against the Texans. He's
been ruled out well. Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan says
they won't open up the practice window on running back
Christian McCaffrey, so he'll remain on IR and miss their
week seven matchup against the Chiefs. Jordan Mason is considered
day to day with that ac joint sprain in his shoulder.
(33:59):
Padres Dodgers eight o'clock Eastern time tonight on Fox in
Game five with the NLDS. Game five of the Alds
Tomorrow Tigers and Guardians. They are going to play at
one oh eight Eastern time in Cleveland. Guys, back to you.
Speaker 4 (34:10):
Thank you, Dan Bayer.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
Thanks.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
We got our Solar Power parlay coming up. And I
thought about last night's instant replay dB.
Speaker 4 (34:17):
I don't know if you have any info on this, but.
Speaker 2 (34:20):
Is there truth to Amazon has better angles than the
NFL replay Center.
Speaker 1 (34:26):
That's what we found out last night.
Speaker 4 (34:28):
We got to talk about that for a second.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
A bunch of NFL playoff baseball all next right here
on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (34:34):
Now.
Speaker 1 (34:35):

the ti Raq dot com studio. You know what's wild
this song? If you're listening to the podcast, you're not
hearing the song. But what's up? Future dude listening to
the podcast? If you're listening live, you're here in EPMD
(35:51):
in the future. Bring me Bifsports Almanac. I used to
fold close at a store called the Garage. It was
like check King and a tvo. It's like a mall
store called the Garage, and they used to play this
song all the time and over and over. It's like
a flashback. And now I'm on Fox Sports Radio. Here
in the song kind of Cool live again from the
(36:13):
tyrack dot Com studio, Iowa Sam on the Ones and
TUESDA Danny g on the Phones at eighty seven to
seven ninety nine on Fox. Dan Byers here spots on
our videos. By the way, we're the most interactive, most
inclusive show on radio. So hit us up at Covino
and Rich and can I throw this out there too?
We have a brand new episode of over Promised. Our
bonus podcast, episode sixty six is available and my mom
(36:35):
said it was one of her favorites Rich, so you
gotta check it out.
Speaker 4 (36:38):
Your mom said it up.
Speaker 1 (36:39):
And he said, Steven, you look so handsome with your
new glasses on. So please check it out. It's on
Fox Sports Radios YouTube page. Over Promised With Covino and Rich,
we talk about sports rally cries. Yeah allahve the rally monkey,
uh cowboy up now with the Mets. Oh my. We
talked about the best sports rumors in life. Sports rumors
(37:01):
because Troy Aikman was spreading rumors this week. That's all
on over promised our bonus show Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page,
like that.
Speaker 4 (37:08):
High school rumor about you with the gerbil.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
Hey, that's not me, that's for your gear.
Speaker 2 (37:12):
Sorry, all right, before we get to the solar power parlay,
I have a teaser as well. Real quick, did you
guys all pick up last night how it didn't affect
the Niners. Seahawks are the outcome, but on a punt return,
the forty nine er was blocked into the Seahawk, so
the flag was pulled up. But you saw the ball
(37:33):
go off the fingers and bent the fingers of the
guy on the Seahawks, the receiver, the punt returner, fingers, fingers,
My fingers hurt. And we saw it clear as day
on Amazon. But it wasn't overturned. And then you start
hearing that the replay center doesn't have the same camera
(37:55):
angles that the network has.
Speaker 1 (37:58):
We have this idea, an illusion in our brain at
the replay center is like some NASA high tech looking facility.
When we saw, yeah, where all these scientists, these these
like brilliant NFL minds get together and they decipher what's happening.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
We saw that's not the case with all their billions
of dollars. Why isn't it like that it should be,
he would think.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
So it's a bunch of Jabbroni's in a wood panel
basement looking over the footage.
Speaker 2 (38:25):
To me, danergy, it didn't infect the game, so I
didn't care. But I can't see how we accept that
as fans or the NFL accepts the fact that the
networks playing the games are providing the fans, the viewers
everyone with angles that get the call right, but they
don't get the call right at the replay center.
Speaker 4 (38:44):
Yeah, oh we didn't have that angle. How did you
not have that angle?
Speaker 1 (38:47):
It's bad for the fans too, it really is. I mean,
I hate to throw my Yankees under the bus, but
that play where jass Chisholm was at a second Ron
Darling was pretty adamant, like, I see daylight between the bag.
He's out. They got it wrong. Jess isn't ended up
scoring on a hit from Verdugo. Yankees win. The Yankees win.
We at home were like, yo, he was out and
(39:10):
the same thing happened last night. It's a bad look
when the fans have a better angle and a better
understanding than the officials.
Speaker 6 (39:15):
I thought it was a great call, but personally side
stuff the rest nailed it on that one.
Speaker 4 (39:20):
Perfect tank you dB. Let's do it.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
Solar power parlay, let's go.
Speaker 3 (39:26):
It's time to parlay into your weekend.
Speaker 7 (39:28):
Rich Davis loves parlays.
Speaker 4 (39:30):
You're making money.
Speaker 3 (39:31):
And he loves his new solar panels.
Speaker 1 (39:33):
Solar Boy DraftKings my solar power parlay. Ah raight lose.
Speaker 4 (39:39):
You're making money money parlay.
Speaker 2 (39:40):
How your panels doing. I haven't paid an electric bill. However,
my water bill ridiculous out here.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
And can I just say though, at least yours are
discreet like Rich's solar panels are in the back of
his house. If you paid that money to get him
on the top of your roof in the front of
your house, I think you made a mistake.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
That's what I told the JABRONI that showed up in
my house. I go, if you could put him with
no one see, I'm in that's anore.
Speaker 1 (40:01):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (40:02):
Let's do this. I have a teaser. I want to
start with that.
Speaker 1 (40:04):
Now.
Speaker 4 (40:05):
That's when you can play with six points in two games.
Speaker 2 (40:08):
I like this as a two team parlay as well,
because there's two teams that are favored by six and
six and a half, and I think they'll outright destroy
the other teams. You got the Falcons at the Panthers.
Falcons are coming off a Thursday night football game. They
have extra rest. You saw Kirk Cousins coming into his
own Falcons and Panthers minus six. And then the Texans
are playing in New England. They're favored by six and
(40:30):
a half. I think these two games might be blowout.
So I like it in a parlay one hundred paces
two sixty five. But he going to play it safe,
tease those down to pick'ems essentially, and you just need
the Falcons to beat the Panthers, and you need the
Texans to beat the Patriots. I mean that seems like
should happen, right, Yeah, cod see our show at DraftKings
now your power. We've hit these two weeks in a row,
(40:53):
so we're due to keep going. I hope three for three.
Arizona is playing in Green Bay. Arizona is so back
and forth. I can't read that team. So this is
a homer pick for me. I want the Cardinals to lose.
So the Niners keep that lead in the division. Okay,
and I think Jordan Love needs to get back in
his rhythm right back on. I like the Packers money line.
I like the Lions at Dallas.
Speaker 4 (41:14):
Sorry Cowboys fans. I like the Lions.
Speaker 2 (41:17):
Like DD said, they might be one of the powers
of the NFC. Lions big win coming up, I feel
coming off of a bye. So you got Packers, Lions,
and Cincinnati. Sorry Giants fans, they're playing Monday. I'm sorry
they're playing that Sunday night game. Bengals gonna get back
on track, and I think they're going to bang out
for the next five I really do. I think the
Bengals are gonna surprise everyone and really stay in this.
(41:39):
So Bengals Lions, Packers one hundred pays two thirty five
three for three parlay. They have it lock and Load
Solar Power parlay. We got more NFL weekend hob nobbin
all coming up here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (41:54):
Hang Tight,
