stomach because all year Padres Dodgers, Padres Dodgers, there's been battles,
a battle, and it comes down to one game tonight,
I know, right here in La Yeah.

And the other night was the first time the Dodgers
had their backs up against the wall all season. It
was their first must win. Tonight as the second must
win of the season.

Dude, rivalries real Now. I feel like we're gonna see
a lot of fireworks. We're gonna see a lot of
intensity tonight. Man, there's one story about it.

There's one story out of tonight that I want to
know if it's BS or not, and it has to
do with one Manny Machado. We'll get to that in
a second. But I did want to say this time
of the year, as they say, spooky season, postseason, bro
some cool things to do with the kids, Pumpkin patches
and hay rides and haunted houses, playoff baseball football. If

What are the Dodgers? Those people deserve I'm not saying
to do it, let me get clear, but they deserve
a karate kick to the chest.

Weiry every Friday morning, there's a school assembly at my
kid's school, like get a little like, hey, who gets
the you know, good kid of the Week award? And
they do the pledge and they do the announcements. So
you see all the other parents on Friday morning. I
saw a bunch of dads and Dodger hats. So I
was trying to be polite like, hey, good luck tonight
big game. Would you believe like two of the dad's like,
what's tonight?

Yeah, I could believe it, and they were probably wearing crocs.
I know the dads, trust me. I get them. I
get it tonight a bunch of wienies. They'll be one
of them.

I mean, I'm not telling you to be extreme like me.
The minute the Mets win, I book a plane tickets
in New York next week. That's a little extreme. On
the other end, you gotta be passionate. And if you're not,
then don't be wearing a Dodgers hat. You nerd, false advertising.

right thing. You you acknowledge you're not rooting for the Dodgers.

years to feed off of the negative energy like he's

get in sync with each other that anytime Machado's up,

This went viral. I'm not sure if everybody in the
stadium is going to do it or not, but it's
a good idea.

I think they should to mix it up, rattle them
a little bit. That's nerve wrecking. You step up and
it's quiet, Yo, that could get in his head. It's
not a bad idea. I've never seen it done. How
about this dead silence? And then right as the picture
releases the pitch, one guy goes guss, yo, why not
get in his head?

But I thought that was a cool little story I
read this morning. So if you're in the southern californ
in your area, if you hear that tonight, if you're
just watching, like, wow, it's pretty quiet Machado's up. The
strategy that Dodger fans are trying to implore the fans
to do is give Manny Machado the silent treatment.

To them, Oh, it's gonna be great, man, great games tonight.
Super pumped about it exactly. If you don't know man, yeah,
we're not friends. We're just different cats. Like if you're
not excited. I've seen a few people saying this on
social media. I couldn't agree more. We're saying it on
Fox Sports Radio. If you're not excited about the postseason

right now, we're not the same cat. We're not friends,
We're not thinking on the same level. I'm not saying
you need to be a crazy sports guy and your
whole life revolves around sports, your all identity revolves around it.
But if you're not tuning in to this postseason the
way these teams have been playing, you and I are
not the same guy. I don't even know if I
could be friends with you.

I told you the other night, I was playing softball
and the Dodgers Padre's game was on, and the dugout
every dude had his phone propped up on his baseball bag.

Dude, it's anxiety inducing, it really is. That's how crazy
this postseason has been. Like how many times nervous there
were smoking cigarettes? Like was he? If your team's in
it right now, even if you're not, if you're just
a passionate fan of good baseball, are you sitting around
or do you find yourself like I'm like cleaning, I'm
like sweeping the floor, I'm like doing all these things
because my nerves are through the roof, like I can't

sit there and just watch. I'm like standing up, I'm
walking around. I'm calling a friend, like, ah, that's how
I feel watching this.

My wife thinks I'm just being a good husband. She
doesn't realize the house is completely perfect because I nervous clean. Yes,
in between pitches, I'm pacerral, I'm fluffing pillows, I'm picking
up my toys.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
Does everybody do this or is it just us too crazy?

Speaker 3 (09:44):
Meaning I do it as well. Like my wife, you
noticed the other day, she said, Man, Cohen's toys are
all organized, and you've.

Got one eye on the TV and then the other
eyes like I can't watch and you're doing something else.

The other day, no joke. During one of the Mets
Phillies games, I had the pledge out. I was I
was cleaning the wood tables and I was cleaning end tables.

I was, seriously, that's how crazy it's been. So enjoy it.
I saw something else too, and I could just steal
it as my own, but it isn't. Some other guy
on social media said this, take it in. Take it
in like for a second. Also think about, Hey, if
your team doesn't win, just take it in. If they

don't move on, just take it in because you don't
know when you're gonna see it again. Whether you're a
Padres fan, Dodgers fan, Yankees fan, Mets fan, Cleveland whatever, Tigers,
you don't know when they're gonna be here again. Enjoy
it because these teams are battling, and I'm sort of torn.

As a Mets fan.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
I wait around knowing no figuring, well, we're giving you
so much, Who's no Who's next? And I have a
lot of good friends that are Dodgers fans, but there's
a part of me that's like, well, if the Padres win,
then all these Dodger fans will be my friend. The
next week is they'll just want the Padres.

To lose so bad. So I'm like, do I want.

Allies or do I want to face the Dodgers?

But uh hey, it's gonna be a battle tonight. I
know both teams would beg for a blowout. But the
baseball fan, don't you want like a four to four
game eighth ninth inning and that's when Otani or Machado
or Tatis or Mookie someone has a chance.

To be the hero.

You want that? I want another eight to nothing onres.

Like f that six run first. Yeah, is Darvis chishing tonight?

I don't know, but last time Otani faced him and

I hope he comes out with the eye of the
tiger tonight.

Instead, there's a lot of international pride on the line tonight.
These Japanese players play with a different level of pride sometimes,
and I think it's going to be intense. I can't

Yes, Yankees with a lot of people are thrilled that
they don't have to deal with him, and I say
that respectfully. Look, the postseason has been phenomenal because of
all the big moments in all the great games. The
one place where MLB's dropping the ball is not giving
us the broadcasters that were accustomed to that were used
to create that extra hype. Imagine if you had your

guys calling the game. I told you, it would have
just been next level entertainment. There was an article in
Sports Illustrated. But listen, I've been saying it for years.
It's impossible because of contracts and money and network deals.
But I always thought it would be fascinating if in
the postseason you either alternated or combined boots like I

was thinking of when the metsro playing the Phillies. Imagine
they said, all right, on Kruk and Keith Hernandez, you
guys will join the booth with Gary Cohen and McCarthy,
and it's just like some mixmash fun both teams are represented.
I get, that's impossible.

That's like a weird pipe tream. I don't want to
sound like a baby about it. I'm just saying that's
the only only complaint I've had this entire postseason or
that I've heard.

Last night, I'm sow in a Mets mindset, but you
know I'm a Mets and Niners guy. The Niners jump
out to a twenty three to three lead. I'm sorry,
Dan Bayer. First half your team looked flat and then
there came a point in that game they had the
kickoff return, then they drove the ball down the field.

I you blink it, it's twenty three seventeen. Was there
a part of everyone that was like, this is happening
to the forty nine ers again? Seattle had the ball
and until a turnover, I had that sense like, yo,
are you kidding me? Are they gonna lose twenty twenty three?

One point? Just letting this slip away?

Speaker 2 (14:03):
The forty nine ers have such a hard time finishing
when healthy, when they're clicking, I still feel like they're
one of the elites of the NFC, but they have
this ridiculous hard time.

I've said it for weeks in a row.

Now, Finish stepping on the throat of their oppony. Finish
running back in, run them back in the game.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
I mean, your your Seahawks.

Are still three and three. But did you get that
sense that the Niners can't finish?

I yeah, it did feel like it was a different
Niners team, And honestly, when the Seahawks held them to
field goals, I still felt all right.

They're in it.

They're not down twenty eight to nothing. It was sixteen nothing.
They ended up kicking the field goal at the end
of the half, and I just there there was a
different feel. There is a different field because I think
the forty nine ers are different. And I don't know
if you guys, I think it was you guys yesterday
we're just talking about. You had these these teams that
we've seen in the past get off to these slow starts,

and you're waiting for them to turn it around, and
I I just don't know if it's going to happen.

I actually have more concerns with their defense rich than
their offense.

banged up, but everyone has injuries at this point of
the season. I just think that the Niners are benefiting
from a division that's not that strong, and to be honest,
a conference that I feel is not that strong even
right now.

If the playoffs started in a week or so from now,
is there an NFC team that you'd certainly bet for
against the forty nine ers. No, The AFC, I feel
like has a lot of the power teams right now.
I feel like right now I would, I would feel
as though you'd see a similar thing to last year,
maybe Lions, Niners, Packers Niners, maybe Vikings if they if

that defense shows up right there having Vikings, they're defeated, but.

AFC to me.

Yeah, I like Detroit a lot. Yeah, so I would.
I would put them in that conversation.

But I think we do the same thing with the
Eagles as well, like we want to give them more
credit than maybe actually who they really are.

Just like we are waiting for the forty nine ers
to turn the corner and play like that team you
expect them to be. I feel like there's also a
feeling on the opposite side of we're waiting for the
Vikings to turn the quarter.

waiting for the wheels off. But Ole Sam said the
Vikings are the worst, and Sam Donalds thinks, but sometimes
I know that's who they are.

Plenty of time left for that to happen, well, Rich,
And that's why I said no, because I just feel
like we need a couple more weeks of the NFL
under our belt to see who teams truly are. You
guys made a great point the other day that we're
still figuring out who most teams are right now.

Yeah, I was the Boss is a big Vikings fan.
I said to him earlier today that five and oh start.
You know what that enables you to do?

I'd beat you always. I was like, hey, Boston fight
the Vikings is the greatest type. When you start out
five and oh, ripe.

Bolls, I think they're just going to continue on and
play well a skull away. I always thought Donalds would
be great for your team. Yeah, purple is my favorite color, Grimace.

When your team starts out five and oh, what you've done, though,
is that you've enabled yourself. Now, if the Vikings play
five hundred football the rest of the season and go
six and six.

They're eleven and six and that's easily a wildcard.

So that five and oh start really does give you
the ability to go through that slump and when you
think of who the Vikings have beat, arguably the toughest
part of their schedule, they will, they will have a
hiccup along the way. It happens, but they if you
looked at the Viking schedule, they've beaten some of the
teams that you were like, well, they'll lose that, they'll

lose that, they'll lose that. So we say it every year,
even the best teams lose four or five games a season, right,
so it's bound to happen. My other takeaway, Rich, not
only was it like, oh man, the forty nine ers,
they're going to do the same thing. They're slipping, they
can't finish, was Gino Smith getting a little frustrated.

Did you see it? Like he sounded miked up and
he's like, what y'all do?

What y'all know?

What that y'all doing? That was kind of funny to see,

You know, some misplays, you know, him and Metcalf we're
a little off the page for a second, but you know,

up winning.

Yeah, No, I mean, listen, they needed that win. But
to back up what I said about the Viking schedule
the early part of their season, you thought they may
encounter some trouble. Listen who the Vikings beat so far?
This is not a soft five and oh okay, right,
both skull the Vikings. They started against the Giants, there's

a win right there, right, But after that, they beat
the Niners, they beat C. J. Stroud and the Texans,
They beat the Packers, and they beat the Jets, who,
with Aaron Rodgers, was projected to be a great team.
So four of their five wins are against teams that
were projected to be playoff teams.

Yeah, that's pretty impressive.

They have all a lot of divisional battles left, but
you know, mixed in there.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
They play who's their next three games? Can be their
next three? Yeah, they play this is gonna be a
good one.

On the twentieth they play at home against the Lions,
divisional battle game. That's a test right there. And then
they play the Rams, the Colts, and the Jags, which
again those are winnable games. So man, the Vikings, I
know Minnesota fans are very skeptical to get excited in
any sport. I mean Kirby puckets or last Glory wins.

followed doctor's orders. You know, they said you got earplugs.

Foggy felt weird about it. And this guy's playing in
the NFL. He's hit in his head all the time.

It's not the best idea. It's not the best look,

But again he's out there, and if something were to prolong,
like an injury prolonged as a result, they will go
back to well, here he is at the Travis Scott concert.
You don't want to give anybody ammunition against him.

I do think Malik Neighbors did meet with the guys
from Rapid Radios and their wives earlier this week, so
right after his concussion, just like you what.

of explaining when something like that happens. I'm not trying
to compare a car accident to a concussion in the NFL.
I was out of it, right, but there was a

to let this unfortunate situation get in my way, you know,
because then that just makes me more angry and and

more pissed about what just happened. So I'm like, I'm
still gonna go forward with our meeting. Like we had
a meeting with Rapid Radios right after that happened, and
I went there and I was a little out of sorts,
But I didn't want it to get my way of
my life and my fun even though something crappy happened.
And that's probably his mindset, like, man, I can't play,
I got a concussion. I was supposed to go see

Travis Scott. Well, I'm not gonna let that get in
the way. That's the mindset. I get it, you know,
but sometimes you got to sit out, man, social media
and if your celebrity cameras everywhere, this is uh, by
the way he could afford to sit out.

It's a recipe for disaster. How many times have you
sort of ducked out of plans? It could be with
like parents at the school, like oh, we gonna do
that play date with the kids, and you're.

Like, yeah, I'm a little busy, can't do it.

And you're like, now, I can't post me out with
other people that day, no one, because then they'll be like, oh,
you couldn't you couldn't do that, but you did this.

Remember when you say no to something, you're saying yes
to something else. And if you're gonna advertise it on
social media, not necessarily a great look. And speaking of concussions,
I don't know if you're watching it, maybe it comes
up in Weekend Hobnobbing, But American Sports Story Aaron Hernandez,
they really paint a pretty good picture of the damage

these players are doing to themselves just at practice and
at the game, and how foggy they paint Aaron Hernandez
to be, you know, when he's out and about, like
his head is just ringing the whole time. You know,
we take for granted, I think sometimes what these players
put themselves through, So it would probably be in his
best interest to just relax.

My biggest observation was the guy that played Gronk had
his left down.

I feel fine in this moment right, I can't play

But from our standpoint, it's not a good look for him.
