And today six innings, eleven strikeouts, struck out the side
guys lighting it up. Anyway, a great weekend ahead of us.
We got some great basketball tonight. Hopefully you guys are
sticking around for that, because we're gonna party happy hour
here at Graduate Hotels.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
And of course, what I'm most excited for is the fight.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
I mean, besides partying with you guys, of course, yeah,
the fight tomorrow, man, Furys, we're gonna talk about that
and more weekend hop knobbing like we do every Friday,
what you need to watch in the world of sports
and pop culture. But yeah, man, what a morning. We
left at like six am from LA got on a
flight Southwest flight from Burbank to here, and then we

(02:15):
had to drive about what two plus hours, yeah, from.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Portland to Eugene.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
But we had to dip off get our Starbucks at
fred Meyer, which, by the way, you know, we don't
have fred Meyers in Los Angeles. Rich says the same
thing as ralphs. I'm not sure about that.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Is that the same thing or what right?

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Ralph, it's the same thing fred Meyer. They're all pals.
Here's the one thing I noticed, and I say this respectfully,
the one thing we noticed. Coming again, we're from the
East Coast, we live in LA. But when we got
to our Starbucks here, we're on the clock, we're trying
to make it here on time. We felt like everybody
was moving significantly slower when it came to our car.

(02:57):
I don't know if it's because we're just so much
a hurry slow motion, but we're like, oh my goodness, dude,
but these are our observations on our way to Eugene.
Organ It was a beautiful hobo asked me for money,
and I'm like, I'm sorry, I don't have cash and
he called me an ahole.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Sorry. I think he said he was your real dad, dad,
real father. But hey, gout any money.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
But I said this last time. And I wasn't drunk
or high or anything.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
But you drive around Oregon, the hues of green, I'm fascinated.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
I'm like, come in on, look at this place.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
It really is lovely, honest to god, a beautiful ride,
you know. And we were just sitting there and trading
radio stories, talking sports, having fun, taking it all in
like this is beautiful and getting to know Iowa Sam's
trapling Iowa Sam everybody.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
He's here with us for the trip.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
And of course our super producer Danny g with a
smooth and buttery voice. He gets around of applause. He'll
be super producing, putting mics in your faces, and he's
the guy over here. He has giveaway, So stick around.
Make sure you guys don't leave empty handed. At least
get a nice handful of riches ass before you go.
All right, not something something, And back at the studio

(04:11):
we got Perfet and lower Loan Kron and again, thank
you guys for being part of this, but just the crazy,
hectic morning we checked in and our rooms are beautiful.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Did you get to even to look around a little bit?
Could not immediately shower change down here.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
Let's just say when we got to our rooms, we
had to take a visit with Derek Jeter first, you.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Did, if you know what I mean? Oh, is that
your Derek g or your number two? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:34):
No, number me, and to have a conversation before you know,
we came down and got ready and did the broadcast.
Listen before we get into Scotti Schffler, because that story's wild,
and we're gonna talk about stories of misunderstandings.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
We'll talk some NBA momentum, like the Tea Wolves. Are
they super confident or did they blow it by winning
by forty five? Is that like good or bad? So
we'll get to all that, but I want to give
everyone a warning about something I watched on the plane.
You know a lot of times there's certain shows you
might not want to watch with your husband or wife,
like things where you're like, this might not be something

(05:09):
you want to.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Oh, like when you know, I've been dating my girlfriend
for six plus years and we watched Love Is Blind
and they're engaging with each other, getting married down one
knee without even seeing each other in like two days.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
We went together six years and these people don't watch
you mean like that, Yeah, yeah, that's awkward. Man.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
I watched the three part Ashley Madison documentary on Netflix
and I guarantee a lot of people are going to
watch it this week and it's trending now. But I
was like, perfect three forty five minute episodes for the
flight and I'm like, if there's any guy that's a
little shady, people might not remember, not watch with the
girlfriend or wife.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
And she's like, did you have an It's rich.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
You're assuming that these fine people here in Oregon know
what the hell you're even talking about.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
I know that is true.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
It was that smutty, scandalous website that you went for affairs,
you guys, remember, and then they uncovered and unveiled all
these names that were involved.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
The whole thing was Ashley Madison was for married people
to meet other married people to cheat.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
And they're like, we're the most secure website ever.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
And they're like, we have no security, and you know,
they exposed like millions of names and people are, you know,
getting divorced and killing themselves.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
It was crazy, nothing to hide. Why would you not
want to watch it? I'm not on that list? What
do watch you? No? No, But I'm saying like, it's
the one list I might not be on. It's possible. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
So, but just because if you if you've had a
shady pass when you're a younger man or woman, they
might just bring up questions.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
So the Ashley Madison documentary will walk it.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
It's a solo mission, you know, we'll talk about what
to watch this weekend and weekend hob nobin.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
But we're on the plane. I'm scrolling through the phone
as we're about to take off, and I'm.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Like, who, Scottie Scheffler, This story is juicy?

Speaker 3 (06:45):
What hold on? He's in handcuffs? What on earth is
going on?

Speaker 1 (06:49):
Now? Let's be honest.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
We're not big golf guys. It'll be on in the studio.
Our buddy Dan Buyer is a huge golf fan. Speak
for yourself.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
There's a top golf here, I believe, And I'm ready
to have some fun tonight.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
Do it because I want to see how bad you are?

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Getting ready for Happy Gilmore too? You got no skills?

Speaker 2 (07:06):
I think I don't know when we pulled in to
the graduate here in Eugene Oorgan, it says a graduate
and it says top golf, so it has to be connected.
It's like, oh, hey, simulator, let's go.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Now.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
I see the headline and then I see Instagram where
Scotti Scheffler is like, well, I stretched and warmed up
in jail today. Now does everyone know the story by
now or not? Because it's it's pretty wild. Well, I'll
tell you this again. We were in our travels, right,
we were getting ready and we were leaving when this
story broke. But it spreads so fast that my mom's
talking about it. So I was checking my messages, Steven,

(07:39):
did you hear about Scott Scheffler, this golfer?

Speaker 1 (07:43):
You gotta talk about it? So like this news spread quickly.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Now I think it's a case of man, that's a
pretty bad misunderstanding. So keep in mind, Scheffler is headed
to a golf tournament that people are going there to see.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Who him? He's the star, He's the guy that everyone
goes there to see. So when I start.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
Seeing social media feedback like what does this guy think
he's above the law, It's like if Lebron James is
going to the Staples Center in this traffic, Like, I mean,
everyone going there is going there a somebody has the
story unfolds and on furls. You are hearing that he
got a little rough during the arrest. One of the
officers ended up in the hospital with ripped up eighty
dollars jeans.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
Is the story I'm reading.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Yeah, so if they get a little rough, if he
had to go to the hospital, so I don't think
there's any excuse for that. Well, I won't defend him
on tell read the whole story, but I will say this,
I mean again, this is my my reading comprehension is
not all that great, especially when you're in a big hurry.
That's what I got out of it. But explain how
it all started. Because there was an accident.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
Was there was an.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
Accident unfortune where someone was killed in like a little
an incident where a bus hit someone.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
So traffic is backed up. Yeah, but you know he's thinking,
I got to get to the golf course. I gotta
get there. I gotta start doing my warm up. Someone
told him, cut around, show your lanyard that I'm Scotti Scheffler.
I'm like the guy, you know, that's won multiple tournaments.
VIP like, I'm the guy.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
Yeah, and everyone's like, yeah, yeah, just show him and
go around. And one of the cops, I don't know
if he was doing the power move thing or if
he was just doing his job, but he's.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Like, nope, And if you're Scotty S.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
Shefferer, no, I'm only playing Devil's advocate because I would
hate to be hassled in this moment as well. But
we're assuming that all these cops know these golfers. I
wouldn't know him by face. I really wouldn't. And I'm
a guy that works in sports. I know the name,
of course, I know the face. I didn't know the
face of the name until I see him all over
the news this morning. I know I might know him,

(09:42):
but you can't expect every officer to know who he is. Well,
the police officer who attempted to stop number one golfer
in the world, Scotti Scheffler, was dragged to the ground
suffering pain, swelling and abrasions after Scheffler accelerated his car
when the guy's like stop, he put his arm in.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
The car and dragged them a little. I'm sorry. That's
a terrible move.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
That is, you have to ask yourself this right, let's
play both sides, let's figure it out together. Eugene Organ,
all right, you have to ask yourself, and we always do.
Would you do that?

Speaker 1 (10:14):
I sure the hell would not do that if the
cop I might be aggravated in the moment.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
I may be flipping the cop off, you know inside
in my mind, your mind, but I'm not putting up
a foss and driving off.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
I'm not doing that.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
So why would I make excuses for him because he
has more money than me?

Speaker 1 (10:29):
I'm sorry, I can't.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
I've told this story before, but I was in my
early twenties.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
I was running late for work, and you know when
you're when you're young in the job world, you're like, yo,
if I mess up. So this was like a long
time ago. Shut your mouth.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
When I when I was young, when I was a
real riches I mean, he looks great for sixty five.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
For rich.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Ever, So I'm in my I'm in my twenties and
I have a great opportunity.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
I'm working at a radio station in New York.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
And you know when you when you're young, and you're like, yo,
if I mess up, are they gonna fire me enough,
Oh of a recover, and you know you're panicking. I'm
going through the Holland Tunnel in New York City and
there's a backup because there was an accident, and I'm like,
I can't be part of this.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
I got to get to the radio studio. I cut
around some pay what though, hold.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
On, Everybody's got to get somewhere, not just you, Not
just Scott Scheffler, even though it's very important in the moment.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
I get it, and I get you can't be late
on the radio. There on the radio, but.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
Again, you're not doing heart surgery. Everybody's trying to get
to work. So everybody's trying to be somewhere. Everybody's in
a rush. That's the problem here. There is a sense
of entitlement, like you. He might not have said it,
but he was saying with his actions.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
I don't think you know who.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
I imagine there's a backup or something in Denver and
the officers like stop right there.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
He's like, but one name is you'll get chummost be there.

Speaker 5 (11:48):
And they're like, no, sir, you got you anybody here
in traffic for me? Yes, I don't make for you
to let me. I don't care, but you can so
if it's if it's the guy. So point is, I'm
in traffic, I cut around these owns. A cop stops
me and he gives me the old like phew, oh
you're in trouble.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Essentially, he makes it seem like this guy looks like
he's gonna arrest me.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
I'm like maybe twenty two. I start crying, Oh my god,
gonna lose my job. Everything's gonna go wrong.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
I'm acting like a bay Bridges defense. This is a
big opportunity at his age, right. So he's on major
market radio New York City and it can't be late.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
And I was like, this is it. I'm done.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
The cop looks at me and he goes, you are pathetic,
get the f out of here, and he let me go.
So I think sometimes, but on the first of all,
crying could work. Secondly, did you show him any cleavage
or leg or something. I showed him some wear shorts,
showing some bottom.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
You show him a little bottom action.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
So point is, Scheffler's got to be there.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Where's the balance though, of being humble and saying listen
like I'm in the tournament, I gotta be there. I'm
Scotti Scheffler brother versus like I got my lanyard, beat
it and like Dragon dragging a cop with his car. Look,
there's a level of aggravation that he was dealing with
that we've all sort of dealt with probably in our life,
in those moments when you're like, I'm not really doing
anything wrong and you're just.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
Bothering me a little bit.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
But there's also that level of understanding you have to
have where these officers are just doing their jobs sometimes,
you know. So look, we just got off a plane.
If you think we're missing something here, please, by all means,
step up to the Minny G.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
We're here in front of the log adience. Yeah, Danny G.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Right, of course, the most interactive, most inclusive show on radio.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
We'll still take your phone calls. Eight seven, seven ninety.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Nine on Fox, we got per fet back at the
studios with Low.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
And Crown and Danny G. Like I said, he's super producing.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
So if you guys got more of the scoop or
an idea of what happened where you feel differently about it,
by all means, let's chop it up, let's break it down.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
That's it.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
If you want to, if you want to grab the mic,
just raise your hand.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
You know what, any g will be generous and maybe
he'll give away some swiggies and some counties.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
I tell you a story.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
Again, I'm not trying to compare my stupid ass story
to Scott Scheffler's story. Just got a little aggressive. It
was overboard. He's way important. I get that people. A
lot of people were in traffic to see him. But again,
the understanding of a cop is still a copy and
he's always just trying to be a cop and do
his job, especially when camera's on everybody, and you're not

(14:25):
supposed to let people side when you're on the job, right.
So I remember one time I was being pulled over
and I have a relative, my uncle Joe, was a
law law enfoster cop.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
Just say cop.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
A cop is actually law enforcer, right enforcement office, law
enforcement officer in the town.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
And I see the woooo, I'm like, oh, man, I.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Was probably hanging out. I probably had a drink, but
I wasn't drunk by any means. I'm not a big drinker.
So I pull into the driveway and I I realized
the guy getting out of his car was a kid
I went to high school with huh right, And I
was like, ah, man, this is my buddy Bill. So

(15:13):
once I realized this my buddy, you know, hey, I'm
just pulling into my driveway.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
I get out of the car and he goes hey,
and I'm like yo, Bill.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
He goes yo back in the car and I'm like yo, dude, Bill,
Bill me Cavino.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
He's like, yo, relax, telling me to relax.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
He's like back in the car, and I'm like wow, Now,
as aggravated as I was, and he talked to me
like he never knew me, and he talked to me like.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
We were never boys. As aggravating as it was, I'm like,
you kidding me, dude.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
I knew you when you were just a freaking dork
in high school, and now you know you're treating me
like this. There was a part of me that was
angry in the moment, but there was a part of
me that also understood that this dude was just trying
to do his job.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
In the moment.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
You don't know, there's cameras on him, you don't know anything. Yeah, point,
you know, Yeah it did it aggravate me? Did it
make me want to strangle him?

Speaker 1 (16:06):
Yet?

Speaker 2 (16:06):
All those things, But he's still just doing his job.
I'm just giving you something to think about in that moment. Well,
you know, yeah, Scottie Shuffler's the guy. Maybe this guy's
just doing his job. That doesn't give him the right
to get aggressive in that moment. I know I would
not do that. I've seen enough stories on the news
where I see it doesn't pay to get a little
aggressive exactly. You know, I want to go back to
the studio, Isaac lowingcron Our update, guy, Isaac, what are

(16:28):
we missing because I'm sure you've been monitoring this the
whole morning while we've been traveling.

Speaker 6 (16:31):
Actually, you've got you've got You've got it. Well, that's
a nice reverberation. Let me try this. Oh rats, I
was going to say, now bouting number two shortstop Derek
Jeta Jita, But no, you are not missing anything. You
really have the gist of it. He did have some
comments afterwards that we played for you earlier, but he

(16:53):
really couldn't go into too much detail other than what
he posted on Instagram.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
I'm not saying scottdy Scheffler is a bad guy by
any means. You know, one thing led to another the
heat of the moment, he didn't know what to do.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
Maybe, you know.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
Again, we're still getting details as we go. Last I
heard though, the cop that was arresting him is or
did go to the hospital and garments were torn up
and he was cut up, abrasions, all that stuff.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
But the funny side of it too.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
I did see that shooter McGavin tweeted out welcome to
the club, and it was all the headshots of him
and Tiger Woods.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
And that's funny.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
Saw that pretty funny stuff. So again your thoughts, well,
let you step up. Let's let's talk, man, let's hang out.
We're live and Eugene, Oregon, Cavino and Rich on Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
The guys introduce yourselves to g who we got Yo. Hello,
my name is Gunner.

Speaker 7 (17:46):
I really appreciate you guys coming to Eugene Argia of.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
Course, man much thanks for having us man, thank you
so much. Guys.

Speaker 7 (17:53):
I just think you know, one thing that's really being
lost in this whole discussion is there was a fatality.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
You know, somebody got killed.

Speaker 7 (18:01):
You know, those cops and those officers they have to
lock that scene down and they have to make sure
that every their due diligence is done. In that crime scene, right,
somebody died, and that's the main thing. It doesn't matter
if you're Scottie Scheffler, your Tiger Woods, you're it doesn't
matter like you can't go through a crime scene that
an accident happens. Some poor person's life got taken, and

(18:24):
that's the most important thing.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
I get it. There's a golf tournament. You're the number one.

Speaker 7 (18:29):
Golfer in the world right now, But we got to
figure out what happened in this crime scene and make
sure that it's done properly.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
Yeah, and the human side of things takes precedence over
any golf tornum.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
Yeah, golf is silly in compared to someone's life. Gunn.
Are you nailed it? In my opinion, you nailed it, Gunnar.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
I think the misunderstanding was that Scheffler doesn't know that
this happened.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
So that's another layer too.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
If you were like, oh, damn, what's this little traffic
jam and you don't know a thing and you're like, oh,
I just cut around this cone, and imagine you do,
and the cops like you insensitive jerk, like someone was killed,
Like glad.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
He brought that up ridge because yeah, you know, I
did say.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
We're not saying he's a bad guy or anything, but
that's also part of the story that he didn't know.
But you gotta ask yourself again, would you treat another
officer that way?

Speaker 1 (19:13):
Regardless of who you are. I'm always I'm always like
super nice. Would you just put I don't want anyone?

Speaker 2 (19:18):
Would you put up any sort of resistance even if
they were being aggressive with you? I know I wouldn't
because I'm not taking that shit. But you can play
devil's advocate for any conversation. My thought is Scheffler might
be thinking, you know, a bunch of money's on the
line if I win a tournament, I gotta go practice
and warm up. And he doesn't know this at fatality,
he's thinking, yo, I gotta get here.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
What's it?

Speaker 3 (19:38):
He might think, what's what's his little traffic jam doing.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
I'm willing to accept it's a big misunderstanding. I think
we all could see that. I think the I think
the cop that got roughed up, there'll be a little
civil suit. He'll be happy, but then everything will be
fun how he handles it moving forward. If he says, look,
I didn't know, and I in the moment and Yeah,
what's most important is the life that was lost, and
he handles all this.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
He could clear up the story easily, move on and
be the man.

Speaker 8 (20:04):
By the way, you guys, first comment of the afternoon
first Swiggy.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
Yeah, we bribe people. You participate. You've met stuff that's priceless. Man,
that's a coveted prize right there.

Speaker 8 (20:15):
How do you think they got on Afternoon Drive?

Speaker 1 (20:17):
Yes, thank you.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
Any other thoughts please, by all means, just step up
and share, because this is how we're seeing it and
this is how it's breaking down. And you know, Rich
also made a really solid point there. To our knowledge,
we didn't and again what we're hearing is that he
didn't know what was going on in that moment. When
you're stuck in traffic most of the time, you don't
know what's going on. You have no idea, So it

(20:39):
all makes sense. Peoples understanding. Hey, there's a lot to
get to today. We are live in Eugene, Fox Sports Radio,
Cavino and Rich now coming up. I do want to
talk about momentum and sports. Like if you're a te
Wolz fan, you psyched right now? Do you think, like,
oh no, we blew it all and Game six and
Game seven Sunday in Denver, so we'll talk a little NBA.

Speaker 3 (20:59):
I also want to talk about beginner's luck.

Speaker 4 (21:01):
There's a a story out of Vegas where some kid
is first time in the casino, first time making a bet,
wins almost half a million dollars, just like on a
on a long shot horse bet.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
I believe it was.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
So we'll get to that a to the Scott Scheffler story.
I can't relate to that one, unfortunately. So we'll have
to win a half a million dollars.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
We will.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
We'll get to all that and a bunch more. We're
partying live.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
We're here Eugene, Oregon Graduate Hotels.

Speaker 4 (21:26):
We got more next right here? Can you on rich

All right, it's the Tidy Whitey Bosstones, Yo, Hey, Capino
and Ranch live from a graduate hotel, Eugene, Oregon.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
I want some up Oregon hells on social media.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
Our Apple Day is sixty sixth East sixth Avenue and
we're kicking off the Oregon Washington State triple header weekend.
And don't miss our show doing the same exact thing
from graduates Tempe Arizona location next Friday the twenty fourth
for the Pac Tall Baseball Championship Games.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
But thank you guys for being here.

Speaker 4 (22:41):
Yes, you know what I wanted to I wanted to
ask our friends here in Oregon. First of all, you
hate when people say Oregon, right, is that a thing?
Like when you were When I was a kid, it
was like, what are you playing Oregon Trail? And I'm like,
I don't think they like that. But what do you
guys think you're best known for because on our way
here was like Nike goonies. Uh, I feel like people

(23:05):
smoking weed. To be honest, I feel like.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
That's something like donuts, like what what like the whole?

Speaker 2 (23:10):
I mean that's Portland from our impression, that's what we get.
You see, you're famous for taking Sam Bowie instead of
Michael Jordan's passed around the micro quick. I'm curious what
people think Oregon is best known.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
For or what it should be known for. Right, yeah,
but it's I don't say it's beautiful here. What's your name?
By the way, here, give this outher the mic? Yeah, yeah, couple, culser.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
The wire only goes so far. My name is Travis Nel.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
Travis, what what do you think Oregon is known for?

Speaker 1 (23:41):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (23:41):
Well, we're most known for picking Sambooie instead of Michael Jordan. Yeah, true,
and then Greg Odin instead of Kevin Durant. Any good things,
all the bad moves. I'm from Texas originally, so you know, okay,
all right, so that's a stand by me is probably
the best thing about Oregon.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
Brownsville a cool.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
Travis is represented by the way he's got a Yankee shirt,
a Knick's jacket and what's the hat?

Speaker 1 (24:07):
Tampa Bay? You can't wear Tampa Bay and Yankees? Who
are you? Travis? That we're cool?

Speaker 2 (24:13):
He's got Red Sox underwear and Oriel socks.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
You you can't have every A L E's team on
your body. What's going on, Jeffie, what's going on? Buddy?

Speaker 5 (24:24):
Right?

Speaker 1 (24:24):
Yeah, my name's Jaffie.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
Born and raised in Oregon, And unfortunately, I feel like
when I leave the state, Portland is being real weird.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
And you know out there.

Speaker 2 (24:33):
You said it, this isn't our first time here, and
we say this respectfully.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
You could tell the type of person.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
You could tell it's a different type of person between
an LA person and someone from Oregon. Just that Starbucks
I saw it, you know, the hairdoo, the type of clothing,
the way people carry themselves, an old school hippie Volkswagen Beetle,
some pothead looking guy driving it like there's just a
different vibe.

Speaker 9 (24:58):
Cove.

Speaker 8 (24:59):
Also, Oregon Natives love when Californians move into the state.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
Ah, a Californian I'm in New Yorker that lives in California,
California or again, yeah, arms well, am I right by
saying when I was in Portland, I feel like there
were a lot of strip clubs too, right, is that true?
I feel like there's a lot of like But that's
odd because it doesn't go with the vibes, and strip
clubs don't usually you know, hippies love strip clubs that much.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
Who knew Harry Armpits? That don't tell me that, all right?
Just Harry Armpits huh? Known for that? Oh boy? Lot
of weed? Is that just the maybe a misconception? Look
at the top. I'll get to the next topic.

Speaker 4 (25:36):
Oh okay, Well, hey, you know what I wanted to
get to before we get to Low and Crown's update.
I wanted to I wanted to ask you guys about
momentum in sports, because a lot of times in baseball
you'll hear the phrase you're only you know, momentum is
only good as the next day's pitcher, right, because you
know it's all about the starting pitching. In the NBA,
last night, there were people that thought, Yep, Denver's gonna

(25:58):
lock it up Game six, the te Wolves win by
forty five.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
When seeen is seventy to tie it up?

Speaker 2 (26:05):
I mean, dude, Game seven is Sunday in Denver super
pumped about it. Does that game mean nothing to the Nuggets.
I think they look at it and say, yo, we
got beat. We'd get you.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
You lose by two or forty five, it doesn't matter.

Speaker 2 (26:17):
Or we were all watching it and they I thought
Richard Jefferson did a great job calling the game and
talking about uh both sides here. He was saying, if
you asked the Timberwolves, you know how theate feel heading
into a Game seven against the defending champions, they'd sign
up for that all day. And if you ask the
Nuggets how they would feel playing at Game seven at

(26:37):
home at their home crowd, they'd sign up for that
all day. So you got a full on heavyweight battle here.
But I think you're analysis. I was, I think you're
I think you gotta go because you know what else
he said too a million times last night is that
there's no such thing as momentum in basketball. Every game
is a clean slate. That's why you see so much back.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
And forth in the NBA.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
So I dont think you're gonna carry any momentum, and
I don't think you're gonna you know, how do you
say this respectfully?

Speaker 1 (27:06):
On Fox Sports Radio?

Speaker 2 (27:07):
I don't think the Timberwolves blew all their points on
this game. Again, it's a it's a clean game, but
advantage Nuggets because they're at home.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
I think everyone loves a game seven.

Speaker 4 (27:15):
So hell, unless you are a Nuggets fan, you were
happy that the t Wolves won last night. I think
hockey and basketball those sevens are fantastic.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
Of course, So I don't think there's any sense of momentum.
The only sense, or the only advantage I think is
the fact that the Nuggets go back home here.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
That's it. Yeah, that's really it. Momentum. I don't see it. Anyone,
anyone have any thoughts? Here?

Speaker 4 (27:37):
Yeah, grab the mic. Danny g is passing around the mic.
Here live at the Graduate Hotel. What's your name, Liz?

Speaker 1 (27:44):
What do you think? What up? Liz? Well? Defense?

Speaker 11 (27:47):
That's Oh, the Timberwolves won two games in a row
in Denver, so they don't think, Yeah, it's their defense.
And also, oh, what was I gonna say?

Speaker 4 (27:56):
Now? I forget It's okay, I forget half the things
I'm gonna say. In fact, CAF he only says off
the air, I'm way better than then.

Speaker 1 (28:03):
You remember, we'd.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
Have a really sweet contract if Rich was as good
off the air as he is on the air.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (28:10):
Yeah, so big games tonight too with the next sen Pacers,
so we root.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
For the nexer Pacers. Do you want? You want a
game seven there.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
Toos got the mixture jacket out?

Speaker 1 (28:21):
Hell? Yeah, so he's got pacer uh. I know?

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Hey, Iowa Sam. Hate to put you on the spot,
but do you have that tweet you sent out? Because
I thought that was great analysis too. It's just different
ways to look at it. Because the Timberwolves own them yesterday,
really made them look bad. I think it gives them
an extra sense of confidence maybe, but I don't think
that necessarily translates into any sort of momentum. I just
think they feel good heading into that next game knowing

(28:46):
what they're capable of.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
What did you say?

Speaker 2 (28:48):
I was Sam about about the game last night? I
just like, do you I remember reading your tweet and
liking it? Me.

Speaker 8 (28:55):
I'm a prolific tweeter here.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
What's more impressive winning the first two games of a series,
both on the road with a game six knockdown punch,
or responding being down two and winning three in a
row with Game seven at your house? Oh no, I
think I do.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
I do love that you too, NICs like Ciscolniberg. He's
the biggest critic.

Speaker 1 (29:17):
I know.

Speaker 2 (29:18):
I think it's pretty awesome because I think what's more impressive?
One of those likes respond, what's more impressive is what
the Timberwolves are doing. But the fact that they got
the game seven at home advantage Denver, That's just how
I see it.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
Danny G, you're the NBA insider guru of the show.
What do you feel about momentum? What do you feel
about Game seven?

Speaker 8 (29:38):
You know, the great Ben Maller always says that momentum
is not a real thing, that it's just confidence, and
you know, I argued with him about that on the air,
but then I started thinking about it, and confidence really
does play a huge part, especially in basketball, because you
could tell which team is bringing the f diving on

(30:00):
the floor, getting those fifty to fifty balls, and which
team has kind of lost their confidence a little bit,
throwing up bricks, not rebounding, not out hustling their opponent.
So I think it has to do more with confidence
than momentum.

Speaker 1 (30:14):
Yeah, I agree with that. Well, that's Sunday. I'm excited
for a Game seven.

Speaker 4 (30:18):
In fact, a lot of games, sixes and sevens in
the NBA and NHL this weekend. But it is time
to go to our buddy, Isaac lowing Crown for an update.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
What's up, Isaac? Why?

Speaker 6 (30:27):
Thank you? Fellas the big story.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
World number one.

Speaker 6 (30:30):
Rank golfer Scottie Scheffler shot a five under sixty six
in round two of the PGA Championship today after being
arrested on his way into Louisville's Valhalla country Club before
his round. Scheffler charged with felony second degree assault of
a police officer, along with three misdemeanors. Here's what he
had to say after his round.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
My situation will get handled.

Speaker 8 (30:50):
It was just a a It was a chaotic situation
and a big, big misunderstanding and I can't can't comment
in any of the specifics of it.

Speaker 6 (30:59):
Scheffler in nine under par overall. He's three shots behind
leader Xander Schoffley Tiger Woods today, five over par through
nine holes. He is at six over par overall for
the tournament, eighteen shots off the lead. Baseball and the
Pirates nine to three win over the Cubs at Wrigularly Pittsburgh.
Rookie Paul Skeen struck out the first seven Cubs he faced,

(31:20):
and wound up striking out eleven and six innings without
allowing a hit, and just the second start of his
major league career. He was taken out at that point.
The Cubs went on to break up the no hitter
in the seventh inning against the Pirate bullpen. Finally, in
college baseball, coming up tonight at six oh five Pacific
time from PK Park in Eugene, Game two of the

(31:41):
three game series between Oregon and Washington State. The Ducks,
of course, taking the opener last night nine to two
behind home runs by Mason Neville in each of the
first two innings. He would finish with five RBI. Coveno
wan Aritch back to you.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
Thank you, Isaac Why from the Graduate Hotel, Eugene, Oregon.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
Give a round of applause to Isaac the best man funny.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
Of course, we love Dan Meyer, which he was here
with us and Monzi. The whole crew is really great,
and everybody back at the studios per fet thank you
for holding it down.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
Someone say oh MONSI, oh, yeah, where's Monts.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
There's a lot of people here. It came from Monzie. Sorry, guys, hey,
you know, based on what Isaac said. You heard Tiger
when he is five over. I gotta ask, do you
does it hurt your feelings when legends just are not
playing close to the level they used to play, or
you like, I get it, they want to play.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
It's they have the love of the game.

Speaker 4 (32:33):
Like when you see like Odell Beckham Junior and he's like,
I'm on the Dolphins. I'm accepting my roles like wide
receiver five.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
Like does that bother you? Or you like, you get it? Dude?
Do you understand like they love it? They see someone
accept it at least he's accepting it.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
You know, like if you see an a picture and
all of a sudden, the aceh picture is like the
number five guy in the rotation and he's just.

Speaker 1 (32:53):
It's more said.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
When you don't accept it and you don't make those adjustments, right,
there was a lot of pictures that that were flamethrowers
and they still tried to keep that game going. It's like, no, man,
you got to make that adjustment and acknowledge you're not
a flamethrower anymore. Get crafty and invent reinvent yourself.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
And the reality.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
Think this more said, And when you don't face the
music and try to make a change. They all make
so much money, and I know it's not only about money,
but you could say, like Ezekiel Elliott, this guy was,
you know, first round the first time around with Dallas,
he was like the man.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
Then he leaves has An.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
I had decencies last year with the Patriots, small deal
with the Cowboys now and I'm thinking, is it is
it rough to see those guys just a shell of
what they once were. I don't think it's ever easy, man,
It's it's especially you know, I'm a big fight fan.
It happens like from one fight to the next. Sometimes
sometimes a fighter could lose two fights in a own.
You're like, they're done't he was so dominant?

Speaker 4 (33:48):
Like a year ago, I watched the documentary on Netflix
called This Is Pop and it was an episode about
boys to men and it happens to music too. They
were playing arenas and within six months they went from
playing arenas to like mall.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
You know why though, because they got lumped into the
whole boy band craze.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
That's why.

Speaker 2 (34:06):
Yeah, And they weren't really a boy band. They were,
but they weren't. But I'm saying, like Tiger Wood's arguably
the greatest golfer of all time?

Speaker 3 (34:13):
Is it sort of weird where they still will pay?

Speaker 1 (34:15):
It's likes everybody.

Speaker 4 (34:16):
It's never on the leader board, but every update, I
don't know, blame Isa, like I'm saying, every update, it's like,
here's your leaders Oh and by the way, Tiger's six
over like it's I don't know, it's.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
Sad but true Metallica style. But everybody has an expiration date, everybody,
you know, and some some people's comes quicker than others.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
He had a great, long career.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
It's just a matter of perspective too, and it's like,
look what he did well, So I'm not feeling that
sorry for him.

Speaker 4 (34:40):

the world of sports and pop culture this week and
is a big fight that I'm very excited for this weekend.

Speaker 1 (36:24):
There's a big battle on Sunday, a Game seven that
I'm very.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
Pumped for, and some movies and we'll get to all
that and more. I do want to talk about the
Giants new uniform. I want to talk about.

Speaker 3 (36:35):
That, the weakest looking thing of everybody I know.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
I know Rich has some questions here.

Speaker 2 (36:39):
I just wanted to get it interactive here with our
friends in Eugene. Danny G's got the mic. Here's the thought.
I thought this was BS. I thought it was a headline.

Speaker 1 (36:47):
They're like, no, way, f sake way, what's the n way.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
NFL has admitted that it took Taylor Swift's is Tour
schedule into consideration when making the chief schedule this NFL season.

Speaker 3 (37:06):
Now, is that smart to changing money or.

Speaker 2 (37:10):
Is it totally ridiculous that Travis Kelcey's girlfriend is dictating
the NFL schedule.

Speaker 1 (37:16):
Your thoughts pass around the mine.

Speaker 2 (37:18):
I'm not surprised because what it does prove is it's
all about the bottom dollar. If she generated they said,
one hundreds of millions of dollars between her and the NFL.

Speaker 1 (37:27):
You know, it's how could they not do that?

Speaker 2 (37:30):
It was a storyline, is a little eye rolly, like,
really is understandable. It's both if money's being generated, ratings
are high, it doesn't surprise me.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
What I'm surprised at is that they admitted it, right.

Speaker 4 (37:44):
Like the fact that the NFL is like, hey, schedule
maker here, yeah, we did this so that Taylor could
be at fourteen of Travis's seventeen games, And I'm like, yeah,
if I was Kelsey.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
And Taylor Swift, I'd be thinking, well, if we're generating
that much money for the league, where's our cut of that?

Speaker 1 (38:00):
Oh? I was thinking what if they break up?

Speaker 2 (38:02):
Like, remember the Jets got all the primetime games and
then Aaron Rodgers concert.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
What if they did all this and then they break up.
That's a good one. Yeah, yeah, I was just gonna
break that that.

Speaker 12 (38:12):
What if they break up.

Speaker 1 (38:13):
Sorry I took the words out of your mouth. I'm
sure you did so.

Speaker 12 (38:16):
If she's just a girlfriend, yeah, what does it matter.
This is a sport. Football is a sport. They are
team players. It should have nothing to do with it.
It's like you guys always just doing stuff for your
wife or significant other.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
You have a career.

Speaker 3 (38:29):
Your career is football.

Speaker 12 (38:31):
You have a position on the team, right, so it's
a joint thing together as a team sport to have
you on the team. And what if he's like totally
destroyed because they broke up.

Speaker 1 (38:41):
Breathe. That is true.

Speaker 2 (38:42):
But if let's say Covino's girlfriend generated hundreds of millions
of dollars from Fox Sports, I'm pretty sure.

Speaker 1 (38:47):
I'm pretty sure she would be taken into consideration.

Speaker 2 (38:49):
You know what else it brings light to though every
time they show Taylor Swift and that got a lot
of criticism last.

Speaker 1 (38:56):
Year, you know, the real intent, Like there's no more hiding.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
It, like you thought they were doing it, oh, just
to be fun, but now it really is about the
money because.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
They've built the whole schedule around us.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
Like there's so much intent there that it's going to
make it more annoying to the actual NFL fan who
doesn't care at all about that.

Speaker 3 (39:15):
Now, it's not the same, and that's not fair to
their relationship.

Speaker 2 (39:17):
By the way, Kelsey and Taylor Swift ain't asking for that.
They literally figured out, you know, which games and how
many games they thought she could be at in the
tenth and they factored that into the schedule.

Speaker 1 (39:30):
That's wild. So every time they.

Speaker 2 (39:31):
Show them, they're thinking, oh, there's more money, there's more ratings,
there's more people.

Speaker 1 (39:35):
So they're sort of using them.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
And listen, last season, there was a split narrative amongst fans,
like half of them like, I get it.

Speaker 1 (39:43):
I mean, like, so they showed her for a minute.

Speaker 4 (39:45):
It's a famous person, it's his girlfriend, the ratings are high.
And then other people were like, I hate it. Who
cares about Tyler Swift.

Speaker 2 (39:53):
I'm wondering if major League Baseball now not as popular
by any means. But you heard Isaac during the update
the rookie You're on the Pirates scheme struck out eleven today,
number one young pitching prospect.

Speaker 3 (40:06):
His girlfriend is Livy Dunn. Now you might not know.

Speaker 2 (40:08):
She's superb me, super Instagram famous, the most popular gymnast
from LSU.

Speaker 1 (40:16):
She's like millions of followers.

Speaker 2 (40:19):
Her feedback on his first start has more views than
anything about his first start. So, you know, we're seeing
people lean into them, might want to write it's smart,
but is it fair to those people? And is it
fair to the people that just want to watch the sport?
So think about that and we'll go around the room
and we'll take your phone calls.

Speaker 1 (40:38):
Eight seven seven ninety nine out Fox and what you
got to do this weekend?

Speaker 4 (40:41):
We'll do some weekend hobnobbin all live from Eugene, Oregon.

Speaker 1 (40:44):
Or Cavino and Rich next
