Show and Tell throw Back Thursday. We're going to share
a piece of old school memorabilia right here in front
of us. If you can guess what it is just
from watching the YouTube show, you could win a prize
from Danny g who's on standby. But you have to
like guess, you know what are these items exactly?

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Yeah? What makes these two items right here right right special?

Speaker 2 (01:26):
And we'll tell you about it later on in the show,
And of course we'll talk more NFL and an hour
from now. I just want to let you know I'm
still probably going to be suffering from allergies. I'm dying today.
I don't even know what's going on. But we also
do over promised our bonus podcast, so you could watch
or listen Covino and Rich FSR on YouTube, and I
know this for fact. We're going to talk about Mike's

(01:48):
versus Shawn's. We'll explain Mike's versus Sean. Think about the
coaching matchups this weekend and throughout history. Who usually wins
when a mic takes on a sean?

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Who might be asked? Who's asked?

Speaker 2 (02:00):
We're gonna talk some he Man and Rich's picks on
over promised right after this show, but right here on
the same YouTube page, Covino and Rich FSR so I'm Cavino.
That is rich and Thursdays we also throw it back
and we do old school and fifty hits. Now, we
are gonna talk about all these great sketch comedy shows
on the anniversary of Chappelle Show. But if you want

(02:21):
to later before over promised, look up the he Man trailer.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
We're gonna talk about a little bit.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
If you were a kid of the eighties and you
loved he Man, you collected the toys, you had Castle
Gray Skull. The trailer is out today, and I'll be honest,
for the first time they've done something with this franchise
where I'm like, oh, that looks good because usually i
feel like they've swung in to Miss Danny g how
many times with he Man?

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Yeah, like multiple five times?

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Yeah, But this actually you'd be like, ooh.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
He Man one of my favorites. By the way, my
pronouns if anyone asks, and Man, I think it's about
time that a new generation really appreciates Eternia and the universe.
They created so many great characters in the world of
he Man. I'm a huge fan since eighty three. So yeah,
we'll talk about that, but check the trailer out if
you want came out today now sketch comedy. Why are

(03:09):
we talking sketch comedy because Chappelle show. Dude, we love comedy.
I don't know why the world tries to separate things
with sports and music and sports and comedy. Don't we
as as sports fans and we as men?

Speaker 1 (03:22):
What are we?

Speaker 4 (03:22):
Men?

Speaker 1 (03:23):
We are men? We are men?

Speaker 2 (03:25):
And of course the women listening, why is it like
impossible that you could love sports, music, and comedy. It
sort of all goes together to me. Those are a
few of my favorite things, right for real? Growing up
watching SNL and then in two thousand and three watching Chappelle,
it got us thinking, what are some of your favorite moments?

(03:46):
Because today is the anniversary of Dave Chappelle on Comedy
Central his sketch comedy show in two thousand and three,
and man, it was a game changer for sure, open
up the doors for guys like Kean Peel. You start
thinking of some of your favorites, even kids in the hall.
What are the classics that stand out? That's reminisce right,
and you can dit us up at eight seven seven

(04:08):
ninety nine on Fox Danny G's not standby. I have
three that come to mind. I wonder if we have
any overlaps. Well, I don't want to go. I'm not
gonna go super obvious. Going super obvious to me is
no fun, like what makes white people dance? Yeah, I
have three Danny g that come to mind that I

(04:30):
feel like I could look at them and watch them
at any time and still laugh, like that's the first
time I'm watching it.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Number one, in no.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Particular order, Patrick swayzey rest in Peace and Chris Farley
Rest in Peace when they did Chippendale's on Saturday Night?

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Is the number one? You said?

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Not obviously, that's number one? Is my number one? Everyone
when everybody's working for a weekend. Every time I hear
that song, I think a Chris Farley and Swayze dance.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
But maybe that's I think you and I just love it.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Wait, number one of all time or number one for
Saturday Night Live.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
It's up there, regardless of show top five, one of
the top of all times top five.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
That's not better than Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood stud I.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Think it is that.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
It's not I'm gonna give you.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
I'm gonna give you a Chappelle one spot.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
How does the Farley dance got could do it though,
it's kind of funny.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
I love it.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Here he goes.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Farley Dude, he's so a giant, it's hilarious. He was
such a stud and Rich F s R.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
On YouTube. You gotta see Spot do this.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
I'll tell you what, So Farley Swayze, I'm putting that
in there. I'm gonna give you a Chappelle show bit
that's not one of the obvious ones, because I feel
like people will give you the ones that always make like, oh,
here's Chappelle's top five as a music fan and a
sports fan and all the I feel like when he
did a Day in the Life of Lil John, I
don't know why I thought that was ridiculous, because yeah,

(06:05):
what yeah, he's at the airport the rental car player.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
Now, I just think those bits are great.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Yeah, it was some of the funniest stuff, and it
was ours, like, yeah, our parents grew up with SNL,
and of course we watched SNL as well. But when
Chappelle started doing his thing and I was like, okay,
And that was around the time we started doing our show,
our radio show. So this became every week banter for
us and a different generation, so it really was impactful
at the time.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
I'll give you one. Well, let me give you my
number three.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Yeah, so I.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Gave you the Farley and Swayzee day in the Life
Alone with John and I'm thinking in Living Color, it's
the reason why he's so successful and everyone loves him
because he's the white dude that all black people in
the nineties were like, Yeah, I guess that's our our

(06:56):
funny white guy. Jim Carrey on in Living Color when
he did I Own Marshall Bill, I can't tell you
how ridiculously stupid and funny.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
That was to me as a kid.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
So great, man, I mean, I got But you know what,
if I were to pick a personal Jim carrey from
in Living Color, how do I know what you're gonna do?

Speaker 3 (07:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (07:14):
What he did Vanilla Ice because I was such a
Vanilla Ice fan in the nineties when he was like,
all right, stop, well, I tie my laces when he
did the whole vanilla ice thing.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
To me, that was one of my favorites. And others
that stand.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Out the wait, who did Carcinia Carcinio is Dana Carvey,
Dana Carved, he did Johnny Carson as Arsenio Carcinio, your
favorite moments will open up the phones now. At eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox, Dave Chappelle opened the
doors for guys like Key and Peel.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
Right, Dave Chappelle has.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Said in a sneak disc of sorts, like they basically
copied his whole format. But you can't deny how funny
keen Peel were, Like, they were great in their own right.
What's your favorite keen Peel? But I have a lot
of them. One that goes under the radar. I know,
no one's gonna say. It's called dueling hats.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Oh that's a good one.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Hats is one of my favorites because they come out
of their stoop and they got one dude has a
brand new hat on and he's like I And he
comes out the next day and his hat is brand
new and has a tag, but it has the tag.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
And then the hats just keep getting ridiculous and.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Just keep The next day the other guy comes out,
it's the hat with the tag, but it's still in
the bag. And then it's the next day and they
keep going back and forth with their hats. It's hysterical,
and that's just like the epitome of the dumb stuff
they would do.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
Key and Peel were legit for sure.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
People are going to talk about the Key and Peel
of course, like a a Ron and the school teacher.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
I always love noise. I always love that one.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
I think one that goes under the radar as well
for Key and Peel is there's a bit where they're
talking about how they're all tough with their wives and
meanwhile their wives clearly wear the pants and like, I
looked her in the eyes and I was like, and
they're like, yo, you said that, you called it and
you didn't say that right in the eye and I said,

(08:55):
And then the wives come in and they all like
are scared. I thought that was a great bb Do
you have any any sketch that comes to by for you.

Speaker 5 (09:02):
Well, you know, just on the Key and Peel ones,
just off of that the cooking show one, oh yeah,
that they do of like does he love it or
hate it? The back and forth, it's just the premise
of well, because that's what happens on those cooking shows.
It's such a dramatic sort of thing. So I love
the creativity of that bitch so good.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
I think they're underrated, even though they're very rated. And
if you missed it, Rich said it before Keegan Michael
Key did throw out that he'd be willing to do
some more with Jordan Peele. Jordan Peele obviously a big
movie maker now, but I'm sure they can get together
and make some good stuff.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
I would love to see it now. Mike, who runs
this place?

Speaker 3 (09:41):
Who?

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Mike the guy he was wearing a little scully before. Mike,
you never heard of them. You probably didn't recognize him
with the hat on. He said, don't forget kids in
the hall. I think it was Canadian kids in the hall.
But one of the things I remember from them, besides
the they were squashing the heads. I remember they was
squashing the heads with their fingers. The day, I know
is a pretty famous thing that Dave's I know, but

(10:04):
what is your favorite?

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Your favorite? Slicking back?

Speaker 2 (10:08):
We're opening it up to you, and can I just
post this and throw this out there because the beauty
of the shows, we get to talk to millions of
people all over the country, all over the world right
on iHeart and listening live. I remember as a little
kid when I first started watching sketch comedy and early SNL.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
And wild and Crazy guys.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
And not necessarily the news on HBO. I remember seeing
a bit and I've never saw it again, but I
remember it pulling me into like sketch Comedy'm like, all
this stuff is funny. They did this whole stupid routine
of like, oh, I hope Bob doesn't come like Bob, Oh, Bob.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
I think it was Bob. I think the name was Bob.
I'm using Bob, like, oh my god, did you hear it?

Speaker 2 (10:48):
All? They invited Bob and they're like, why Bob's such
an ass, Like, oh my god, Bob's coming. Oh, he's
such an ass. And everyone's mad that Bob's coming because
he's such an ass. And then the doorbell rings and
Bob comes in and he's just an ass, like your
style of comedy.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
Does anyone remember seeing that.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Besides me as a little kid, because I'll never forget it,
and I don't know where it was from or what show,
but let me know if you do.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
And now we turn it over to you.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
At eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, your favorite
bits Chappelle, We honor him today. Feedback is coming in
hot I'll say how to Vegas Panther Drew who says
camp peel with the college football names. I mean, do
you guys hear he goes, how do you not bring
that up immediately?

Speaker 1 (11:32):
Let's see.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Dana Carvey chopping broccoli. That's her nature. Boy, people talk
about that? Is that with him and Sigourney Weaver. And
by the way, Dana Carvey man funnier than he's than
he's ever been. I just saw him on Bill Maher.
He's a couple of years ago. He still does like
they bring him on SNL to like boost their numbers

(11:56):
because he like carries that show and so sharp and
is in personal and his George H W.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Bush. Can I finished? Can I finish?

Speaker 3 (12:03):
Can I finish it?

Speaker 2 (12:04):
Just killing it? He's still killing it, kay Rain said
Wayne Brady. Oh on Chappelle. Yeah it was a good one. Yep,
that was awesome.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Let's see.

Speaker 6 (12:13):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
Oh, we'll give us justin Timberlake. It's my in a box. Oh,
I sent out some good ones.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Yeah, let's let's go to Vegas and we'll start with
our pal trip and work our way down.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Funds are all hot, So love you guys. Chiming in
Covine on Rich.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Your favorite sketch comedy bits on the anniversary of the
debut of chappelle show You want to Feel Old twenty
three years ago today?

Speaker 1 (12:35):
What's up Trip?

Speaker 7 (12:37):
Hey guys, great show as always. Hey remember this. The
greatest player to be named later was Crash Davis and
Bull Durham. I got three on the on this. I'm
gonna go with to catchup Predator with Jordan Peele on
MTV on Mad TV, then I'm gonna go with wife
swap for Dave Chappelle, and then obviously on Key until
the Obama Anger translator.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
That was amazing and the fact that later on President
Obama did a bit with him about that, like that
is Yeah, that's some quality stuff. And you know, it
always stood out to me too, like how bad some
of the athletes speaking of Fox Sports and Fox Sports Radio,
Like if they welcome if SNL welcomed Derek Jeter or
any celebrity athlete, it was always a big deal. But

(13:18):
you could see how they just didn't have the comedy
chops like it was never as good.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
I never thought it was good. Athletes don't usually hit
the mark.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
But as far as favorites, we'll go back to the
phones eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. I always
love the Californians, by the way. I love a lot
of Fred Armison and fetheres Do and all that stuff.
But the Californian stuff that's that's great. Cracks me up
every time. What about uh oh.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Yeah, this one?

Speaker 2 (13:45):
What about more cow Bell? That's funny, but it's funny,
But to me, I think people love it more than
I do. It's one of those like I think it's funny,
but I just Will Ferrell could make anybody.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
He really could a cow bell.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
Christopher Walker, give you one that I see no one's
chimed in, and then we'll go rapid fire. When Lindsay
Lohan is part of this bit and it's the Debbie
Downer where characters start breaking character because it's just so funny.
The Debbie Downer at Disneyland. What is Dabbie Downer played
by Rachel Dratch or is it? Yeah, when Lindsay Lows

(14:19):
Lindsay lowans in the sketch and everyone in the sketch
starts breaking character because it's just so ridiculously funny. Debbie Downer,
I think is awesome. Ebbie Downers was a good bit.
Let's go to Nick and Phoenix.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
What's up? Nick?

Speaker 4 (14:30):
Al right, going on Fellas, what's up?

Speaker 3 (14:32):
Real quick?

Speaker 4 (14:33):
I know they got a lot of people on the line.
I don't know if you guys remember a show that
tried to compete with SNL back in the day. It
was called Fridays and that's where Kramer got his start.
Oh David do a sketch comedy show on It's called
Friday's Look it up. But I wanted to give a
key and peal sketch that made me laugh the most.
And that was when they did the little homie thing

(14:53):
with the puppet.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
It's a good one. It's a go kem Peel has
so many, so many good ones. Spot what was the
one that you when I loved where they were like
smooth talking women. It was like how do you do it? That?
It was like a throwback really good Mad TV. A

(15:15):
lot of people came out of Mad TV, the will
Sasso's of the world.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Bobby Lee, Bobby and Already Langs.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
But I think Stuart is the only Frank Frank Callando, Yeah, yeah,
I think he was. Stewart was the only thing that
really comes to mind for me from that, Look what
I could do?

Speaker 1 (15:33):
You know, from mad TV. But you gotta throw it
out there. Sketch comedy.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
Do you think the go You think Michael Jordan held
his own with Jack Handy. I'm good at smat enough
and Garnet people like me, Stuart.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
Different thing. Yeah, it was their writer who would voice that.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
Jack Candy, by the way, I just saw recently highly
influential in the career of Anthony Jessel neck Kisses is
his hero Jack Kids, I could say it. Yeah, it's
the same sort of comic wit. Uh, let's see. What
about men on film? Yeah, they were the tiny little
hats or men on sports?

Speaker 1 (16:11):
That was great.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
And how about the Boys Shopping Network? That was one
of my favorites as a kid.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
Now you got me there, you know, thinking about Home
You don't play that and all that. What cracked me
up was the Head Detective because was just the guy
with the head and the shoes.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
David Allen Greer, Why well.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
Why was that the funniest thing to me? I was such,
I was a detective, was so fun I was a
kid so dumb. I was a kid that thought Head
Detective was the funniest thing, so funny. Well, again, we
were little, We were just like that ass bit. I
told you, when you're a kid and you're watching it,
You're like, what is this I used to put I'm
not even joking. I would put socks inside of sock
and I would hit my siblings thinking I was holding down.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
Think, you don't play Dick. You don't play that.

Speaker 8 (16:50):
We don't play that.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
Let's go to Hunter in North Carolina. What's up Hunter, Hey.

Speaker 9 (16:56):
Guys, a lot of collars still in the thunder and
you guys, I went right to fire Marshall, jim By Rushall, Bill, Oh,
fire Marshall, Bill. Oh. Maybe I was confusing that with
Jim Carrey, but yeah, no after that, but I'm passed
by bedtime, and I just wanted to let you guys
know the early morning listening has brought me to you

(17:18):
guys the Dan Patrick kat trip.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
There you go. You know, I love hearing that because
that's sort of the reason we do it.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
Yeah, when we do the Dan Patrick Katrick and we
fill it for Dan, our goal is like, hopefully they
like us where then they find us in the afternoon.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
And yeah, I appreciate that.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
Man.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
Hunter means a lot, buddy. All right, Let's go to
Dave in Gilbert, Arizona. What's up day? If these are
the Daves, I.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
Know, Hey, hey, gentlemen, how you doing.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
What's up?

Speaker 4 (17:39):
So a few things nineteen ninety nine, I went on.

Speaker 10 (17:42):
A trip to the UK saw a friend there in
the early twenties who said, have you ever heard.

Speaker 9 (17:47):
Of Ali G?

Speaker 2 (17:48):
And I'm like, no, what's that?

Speaker 3 (17:50):
And my eyes were opened?

Speaker 4 (17:52):
And then he was on HBO lesson a year later.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Everybody was everybody had a friend in the crew that
was quoting Ali G NonStop.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
Was so awesome.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
There was a you're right, there was a good year
or so in Borat and all the things that came
out of it.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
Bruno.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
But yeah, yeah, honestly, Sasha Baron Cohen in that show
was honestly fantastically good.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
Good, great phone call that unlocks a lot of funny
moments watching TV.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
That was more like a candid.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Camera kind of like he was in character, you know,
like it wasn't like the people in the show who's
interviewing were in on it isn't that wild, Like when
he would go to certain cities and towns and help
people behave.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
And by the way, like some of these things, like
you pointed out, Rich, I might not find as funny
now if I were to see him.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
For the first time.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
But when you're a young, dumb idiot drinking with your
buddies or whatever, you know, these are the things that
made you laugh. And I remember watching as a kid
when it was a young Adam Sandler and Chris Farley
and they did this whole pool sitting thing. They were
house sitting and Adam Sandler's like the house hitter and
he walks in the backyard and the pool was all sludgy.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
Do you remember that?

Speaker 2 (18:57):
Yes? Eh? And he crack open a can of Schmidts
Gay and it's like, darn, guys, it is so sparkly
and everything, and they're like, yeah, high five and it's weird.
Cavino brings that drink to my house every party and
it doesn't work.

Speaker 5 (19:17):
I love that skit as well for yeah, so Cavino guy.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
They I don't think they have.

Speaker 5 (19:23):
The rights to the Van Halen saw anymore, so you
can't hear.

Speaker 3 (19:27):
But when they.

Speaker 5 (19:28):
Did the Van Halen at the Top of the World
was it was magnificent. The new music just doesn't He's
so right.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
If you look it up on YouTube, it's a generic
wanna be Van halen Rift that they use. But it's
so funny because I've looked it up since Dan and
I've noticed the same thing.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
But when I first saw that and I just it
was memorable. I cracked up.

Speaker 3 (19:48):
How about skits that turned into movies? They were so
good like Wayne's World?

Speaker 2 (19:53):
Yeah, not always the case though, because Rich loved It's
pat guys hate.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
Everything night at the Roxbury. Oh, I used to love that.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
You know, one of our presol favorites is and I
know no one else likes it except Covino myself in
Spot because we just think it's so stupid.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
What mcgroomer.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
Oh, yeah, are really warming up to you?

Speaker 4 (20:16):
Guys?

Speaker 5 (20:16):
Have been looking up some Brian fellows from Tracy Morgan
that Devils.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
Yes, I quote till this day on this show all
the time. People will hit me up all the time, dude,
what are you saying? I'm quoting Tracy Morgan as Dominican Lou.
Do you remember Dominican Loup. He would be the news
guy and be like I we're astronaut Jones. Can I
tell you a fun story? We're what two weeks away
from the Super Bowl. I remember one of the moments

(20:42):
that you know, what Everyone around you is looking like,
what are they doing? We had Tracy Morgan on our
show maybe what five years ago?

Speaker 1 (20:50):
Dude, it was still was even longer, but we've had
him on since.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
We've had We had Tracy Morgan on the show at
the Super Bowl media row and we're like, you know what, Tracy,
We're big fans of Astronaut Jones. So he stands up
and at full volume, He's like, come.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
On, God, thing it with me.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
He's like, rocket on Rocket, I'm packing my suitcase and
goodbye mood and all of us saying Astronaut Jones together.
It exists somewhere, but it was one of my highlights
of my life. Out of space Astronaut Jones race. So
your favorites as we celebrate Dave Chappelle on this day,
we'll take two more phone calls from now rest your

(21:31):
feedback on the other side, and at Covino and Rich
on social media.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
What do we got Danny.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
Daniel and Virginia A.

Speaker 8 (21:37):
Daniel?

Speaker 1 (21:37):
What's up?

Speaker 2 (21:38):
What's up? Guy?

Speaker 10 (21:39):
I got two from Saturday Night Live, Phillip the hyper Kid,
Mike Myers always wore the helmet, yeah yeah, And then
the other classic was Kurt ferguson Celebrity Jeopardy.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
I mean, yeah, that's a whole different Yeah right that. Oh,
the Celebrity Jeopardy is so good.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
You know.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
You know what's interesting thinking about McDonald, how I'll rast
that's therapists.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
So many of these characters, Sean Conner.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
And bits sort of molded our personalities today and sort
of makes it sort of defindes what we find humorous.
Even on this show we quote this stuff all the time.
A lot of people hit us up saying Chappelle really
revolutionary and he brought it back and the line when
he did the Racial Draft, Oh yeah, Tyrone, Bigghams, you crazy,

(22:27):
Joe Rogan that you know. Come on, we're talking about
legendary stuff. Let's go to Andy and Mississippi and then
we'll take the rest of your feedback.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
I'll read the inshow as well. What's up Andy?

Speaker 7 (22:41):
Hey, guys, I got a couple for you. Missis Swan
Oh he look me.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (22:52):
And then the Young Ones that was on MTV like
after Midnight, and that's where dropped Fred Actor got his start.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
What was it called?

Speaker 2 (23:01):
I don't know if I remember that, but I was
a big mp. Okay, I'm sure I've seen it, then
I watched everything. Either the ones that aren't your favorite
are still memorable. Like I was just thinking for some reason,
remember Dana Carvey. I'm sorry, not Dana Carvey, David Spade
bye bye bye bye Hey, let me ask you bye bye?
Would you consider Benny Hill sketch comedy or like variety

(23:22):
show stuff? Like what would you even consider that? Because
as a kid, those are your first like boying moments.
Your dad would be watching Benny Hill and you'd sit
there as a kid, like, what are all these half
naked women running around with this old guy. I don't
know where Benny Hill fits into this, but I'd say
he had some good sketch comedy stuff back in the day.

(23:42):
Speaking of UK comedy, we'll take the rest of your feedback,
the rest of your phone calls, and we'll read the
intro YouTube chat. But you know what, Danny g of
all the feedback we're getting so far, and when you
look at list online, a lot of people saying Charlie
Murphy Rick James might be the number one. So the
only reason we didn't bring that up is because it's

(24:03):
so obvious that.

Speaker 3 (24:05):
It is the Yeah, I did, I did earlier.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
So anything Charlie Murphy related is everybody's favorite.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
It really hit home to so many of us.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
Were all the best.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
All right, well listen, we'll take all your feedback and

Speaking of Saturday Night Live, I saw one of our
mutual pals works on the Elvis Duranto at iHeart Scary Jones.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
It was a fan experienced spot. I feel like this
is something you would want to do.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
Did you see like a year ago or so where
you had the opportunity to go to the set, they
play the music and you walk out like as if
you're about to host No way. I saw a few
people in the media posting like it. There must have
been like an experience where it'll be like now your
host dany Gy and you walk out and you and

(27:32):
they like make the video for you like you're hosting SNL.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
Like that's cool, that's a cool.

Speaker 3 (27:36):
Thing.

Speaker 2 (27:37):
That's very very cool. All right, So this is the
anniversary of the Chappelle Show. Chappell twenty three years ago,
two thousand and three. So your favorite sketch comedy bits,
whether it be Mad TV and Living Color, Kids in
the Hall, whatever, you could continue chiming in at Covino, Enrich,
at Fox Sports Radio, Danny G's there one more phone

(27:59):
call you want to get too, or we're moving on?

Speaker 3 (28:01):
You know what?

Speaker 2 (28:02):
We could go rapid fire all right, Nope, let's do
that rich little crossfire action.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
Let's do that. I have one question for you.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
Is there I didn't think it was someone you would know,
but do you know who sang the Chappelle theme, Remember
the cool old black guy with just the banjo of
the guitar like Chappell Show. I mean I remember it was.
It was a singer whose name was Aaron Hill. Dude
named Eron Erin Hill. And wait a minute, hold on, yeah,

(28:33):
I think so all right, there you go. I was
you just dropping fun facts? Well yeah, because I feel
like I was thinking maybe it was someone else, but no,
just that was a cool.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
Little intro too.

Speaker 2 (28:42):
They're gonna say something like and believe it or not.
That's Grant Hill's grandpappy. What was the name he gave Rich?

Speaker 1 (28:47):
Is it Aaron Hill? It says John red Scott. Is
what I'm seeing here. You're talking about the very beginning
where he's throwing the money in the hat. Yeah, the
theme song Ship Chappelle. Well, I was a fan.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
I think we all were big fans of the show
it and when he dropped something new, we automatically tune
in because we've been fans for a long time now.

Speaker 3 (29:05):
It just seemed like every sketch he had was an
instant classic. It was, And that's what I talked about
the very next Yeah, that's what I was trying to
convey too. That like like when me and my friends
would talk about the show and that one and that
one and that, we just talked about the whole show.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
I remember watching that. You know, you were like Danny,
you could probably remember, like what do you fight?

Speaker 1 (29:26):
On DVD? By the way, you'd have like the season
I had them on DVD.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
It's so funny would say that because I remember having
the Chappelle Show show seasons. Remember when you would display
your DVDs like you're a part of it too. You
probably remember the old TV and apartment you lived in
in the two thousands when you were watching Chappelle Show,
did you put it? You t vote it? Probably before DVR.
I was a normal thing. All right, let's uh what
a rapid fire was? Let's go rapid fire. Remember we

(29:51):
got Show and Tell Thursday and more football. That's Zach
and Idaho.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (29:56):
Zach?

Speaker 2 (29:56):
Pay?

Speaker 3 (29:56):
Zach?

Speaker 8 (29:58):
Hey?

Speaker 9 (29:58):
Guys?

Speaker 1 (29:59):
What up?

Speaker 4 (30:01):
Uh?

Speaker 9 (30:02):
Keen Peel Sex Detective and the texting one. Those were
pretty good.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
Yeah, you know what, it's funny.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
Every once in a while, I still see one that
I never saw before and they still get me. I
think they're really underrated. I think we put the Chappelle
Show on a pedestal. But Key and Peel really were
legendary in their own right too. Man, I think they're
really great. Did you see the one where they're walking
down the street and the guys acting all tough and thuggish.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
Yeah, and then.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
When they guy when then when the other guy walks away,
He's like, oh my god, I was so scared.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
They were so good.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
I mean, they're just they really hit the mark and
they're both we've interviewed them both and both very cool.
Keel went on to be a superstar director. So let's
go to Chemo and Virginia Beach.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
What's up, hey, buddy? All right, let's go to Bobby
in Rochester.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
Hey, Bobby, want to say something.

Speaker 10 (31:02):
Kids in the Hall. They had recurrent characters the Chicken Lady, Chicken.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
Lady from Kids in the Hall. You can talk to
Big Mic about that. That's the same. Big Mic was
a big fan for sure. I do remember some of it,
though for never heard of it. Were next Maine Bobby
and Maine Bobby, not to be confused with former Mets
pitcher Bobby Maine.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
Hey, what's Bobby?

Speaker 3 (31:24):
Hey?

Speaker 9 (31:24):
Boys?

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Uh?

Speaker 11 (31:25):
Going back to a Living Color vera Demilo, oh oh
ver it killed me for that outfit and going back
to like the Russian Uh, you know, stereotypes.

Speaker 1 (31:36):
Of the day.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
Does anybody remember the brothers brothers And they would pretend
like they're the smothers brothers, but they were the brothers brothers.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
My brother is a brother they were.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
They had so many goofy bits too, man, you're right
in Living Color, so many joey hit Did anyone say
handy man? I think they did handy man. Someone who's
up and said that, what about schwetty balls. Oh yes,
many a lot of these. You're right, Sam, you couldn't
hear him in. You could not do no way that
was deemed insensitive. La Evan wrap it up and they'll
go to Dan.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
Bye. What's up?

Speaker 9 (32:08):
Ev Hey, what's up?

Speaker 7 (32:10):
Brother?

Speaker 4 (32:10):
I just wanted to I got your sweaty balls hang
in but uh Rich, but I.

Speaker 1 (32:15):
Have a great one.

Speaker 11 (32:16):
I just want to say, Danny is the best you.

Speaker 5 (32:19):
Body boy, uh Rich with his fucking beautiful wife and everyone.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
Else to hear what he said catch the podcast, Yeah
we have. We had to drop his call. He was
just about to say it. And I also love I
was Sam, but he had a curse first. Yeah, but
you know what he said, complimentary stuff. So I don't
mind the cursing. It's all right, just try to keep
it clean. But thank you guys.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
He was so he was so emphatic about it.

Speaker 3 (32:42):
You think that Veto will use that for a network promo?

Speaker 1 (32:46):
Should be? Should be?

Speaker 2 (32:48):

Yeah? You need Oh right, here we go. In the
chat on YouTube Steven L. Lopez, we're all about comedy today,
he said, is that Murphy Lee's red New York Yankees
hat from the video from the video tail feather? No
shake your tail feather? So he selected. Okay, it's see

(37:49):
our prizes at gmail.

Speaker 2 (37:51):
All right, show and tell throwing it back on a Thursday,
and I'll tell you what this is. Ok So, if
you watched on ESPN recently, I think they did a
thirty for thirty and they gave credit to Spike Lee
for changing I guess the culture of baseball caps in
the hat game, because before Spike Lee, there was no

(38:12):
red Yankee hats. I believe it was the ninety six
or ninety eight World Series. He busted out a red
Yankee hat, and they credit him for opening up the
floodgates for difficult colors and different options because he actually
did go the next step and he sort of got
permission from not s George Steinberner, I believe, and the
powers that be that said, hey, can I design a
Yankees hat in a different color? So I can't take
that away from Spike Lee, but I do credit someone

(38:35):
else as well for popularizing the red Yankee hat, and
that would be Yeah, fred Durst, Ben Stiller, you my
mo sucker. This is not just a red Yankee hat.
This is an autographed Fred Durst of Live Biscuit. Did
it all for the not red Yeah? Sure, personalized to me,

(38:57):
Actually it's not, but he did it for me. Brought
in the red Yankee hat. I was there at the
Rolling video. I brought in the fred Durst red Yankee hat.
As you guys know, I play rock music every night
on Turbo and I'm new Era.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
What is it? I'm new era?

Speaker 3 (39:13):
Wait?

Speaker 2 (39:13):
What was the lyric? I stay fitted new Era committed
there it is So that is a cool piece.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
Yankee.

Speaker 2 (39:23):
Fred dairt special. Now this red cap gets a rap
from these critics. My piece of memorabilia today rest in peace.
We lost him last year, but before he passed away,
we had had the hulksterra on our show a few
times and I said, hey, brother, do you mind signing
a Hulkamania shirt for me?

Speaker 1 (39:41):
That's awesome.

Speaker 2 (39:42):
I got a Hulkamania sign shirt from the man himself,
and I do plan on putting this in a frame
one day. I gotta I gotta hang this in the
man cave. Body get on the shot of this bad
the tie die Hulkamania signed shirt. I figured I bring
that in for show and tell today. I love it,
mister changed Wrestling Thunderlips movie star. I think No Holds

(40:06):
Barred was a bit of a turd of a movie,
but aside from that, I love the Hulkstar.

Speaker 1 (40:12):
I think it's safe to say that the Hols Bard
was tak and this hat.

Speaker 2 (40:15):
You know, as a Yankees fan, as a rock fan,
it's like a double doozy for me. And there is
a debate on whether or not maybe the fed Durst
autograph brings the value down, but I say no.

Speaker 1 (40:24):
I'm a big olymp Biscuit fan.

Speaker 2 (40:25):
I think it's a cool If you're a music fan,
you like Rocket, you like the Yankees, that is that
to me.

Speaker 1 (40:31):
Symbolizes the Yankees.

Speaker 2 (40:33):
And nowadays I did it all for the nookie, but
I'll take that cookie too, especially Subway cookie. So I
stay fitted new era, committed with my red Yankee hat.
And if you guessed, thank you very much. And if
you want to hear me play some olymp biscuit, catch
me tonight on serious extent Turbo forty one and Better Yet. Yeah,
the show con continues right here on YouTube Covino and
