Isaac Low and cron Jason Stewart Iowa Sam with us

Speaker 3 (00:55):
They are great dynamic duos and sports. Just off the
top of my head, stocked into Malone, Stockton Alone, Montana
to Rice. Do you got any come off the top
of your head at.
Speaker 6 (01:07):
The top of my head. When I was little it
was Steve Nash and Durk NOOVISKI.
Speaker 4 (01:10):
Oh remember them, yes, together as they separated.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
How about great duos Bonnie and Clyde.
Speaker 6 (01:20):
Bonnie and Clyde, all right, are they?
Speaker 3 (01:23):
Fred Astaire Ginger Rogers Captain and to Neil captain and
to Neil Isaac long Crown, Jordan and Pippen Jordan and Pippen.
Speaker 7 (01:32):
He went back to sports. We had gone away from
sports and he brought us back to sports.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
You know what I was going to say, Iowa and
Sam Nice, Iowa and Sam.
Speaker 8 (01:42):
I'm just going to say Hall and Oates, Hall and Oates,
another duo and not getting along so much these days.
But I don't think that ever will I think that
that is, that is permanently fractured.
Speaker 7 (01:52):
Batman and Robin and Robin keep on.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
We can. If you want to call in eight seven
seven nine nine and Fox, it's eight seven seven nine
to six six three sixty nine. Hit Mancy up at
Monty Milanos. You can find me at Dan Byron Fox.
Also live on our YouTube stream right now, where, of course,
somebody teeed in I agree with Monzy. Actually they wrote,
I agree with Monty of course, and then also Manzi
(02:15):
cooked Dan in that last segment. Nope, not, Monty had
some great points she did. This is earlier in the show. Again,
the pro Moncei crowd is always there. That's why I
have to stick up for myself. Yeah, how about Benefer Benefer, Well,
that was actually something I was going to bring up
later on. But yes, of duos that maybe shouldn't have
(02:36):
gotten together again, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck. They were together,
they were apart, and then they got back together. And
it's a perfect sewe because there is a duo that's
getting back together. Jason Stewart, is it later this week
that it's going to happen on think.
Speaker 7 (02:53):
It's on Friday. I think, in fact, Steven A might
lay it out. If you want to play some sound here,
let's hear it.
Speaker 9 (02:59):
It will be me Skip Bayless reuniting for the first
time in nearly a decade.
Speaker 10 (03:04):
He got stuff that he wants to get off his chest,
so I'm going to let him do that.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
But in the same breath, what he really.
Speaker 9 (03:11):
Really wants to get off his chest is met.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
He want to get at me. Now, maybe we're playing
into what ESPN and steven A wants us to do,
and that's to get people to watch that first take
on Friday. Maybe it plays in to what Skip Bayless wants,
but it also just brings up the combination of is
this the duo that you wanted to get back together?
I am a steven A guy. I like steven A.
(03:34):
Steven I used to work here at Fox Sports Radio
was nothing but kind and great. I don't have a
bad word to say about steven A. So I am
on stephen A's side. I don't know anything about Skip Bayless,
and if I'm talking about reunions of reunions of what
we would like to see, I actually think people would
rather see steven A and Max Kellerman get back together
again than maybe Skip Bayless. I don't know if people
(03:54):
want to see Skip Bayless back with steven A. Maybe
they'd want to see Skip Bayless skip back with Jannon
Sharp and have their episode and have the realness hit.
But I don't know if this is going to hit
as well as they all hope that it may hit
on Friday.
Speaker 6 (04:08):
I don't know if it's going to hit either. I'm
not interested in this.
Speaker 4 (04:10):
The two others you mentioned are more appealing than these two.
Speaker 6 (04:15):
But I just feel like this is going to be.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
Very scripted, very scripted, and there's going to be a
lot of confrontation, and there's going to be a lot
of things that are a lot of fighting words, and
it's going to be yelling and this and that.
Speaker 6 (04:30):
But I just assume this is going to be so scripted, because.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
Why would you agree to this if you weren't going
to get anything out of it, if you weren't going
to you know what I'm saying. So they have to
go into this, I assume, with a plan of how they're.
Speaker 6 (04:44):
Going to do this reunion show. But I think it's
going to be scripted.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
Here's the thing that I am trying to figure out.
And I'll talk about what reunion I think was the
greatest because I experienced it almost a year ago. Nine
months ago, Liam and Noel Gallagher brothers Oasis getting back together.
They reunited for a tour with Limited and this was
(05:09):
we thought the brothers were fighting, but their brothers, their family,
their blood. But everybody then was wondering why are Liam
and Noel now getting back together? And you're saying it's
because they make more money when they're back together when
they're oasis or there was this enormous cash cole waiting
for them on a tour that they just couldn't shy
(05:32):
away from. And it was it was a rousing success.
I loved everything. I'm still on a high from the
concert at the Rose Bowl that happened in September, Like
it was magnificent. Their feelings on me are separate from
the reason why they did it. But they also thought
is maybe they will get together, maybe they'll be a
bigger tour in twenty twenty seven. All of those things
(05:52):
play out. It wasn't just because hey, we're brothers, let's
just get back together again. So that's the underlying like
portion of this is what is the real reason? Is
it to get skipped back into the mainstream? Is there
something on the next level? That's the question. Those are
the questions that I have to answer.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
And the probably is an underline overall goal that they're
both trying to get to, whatever it may be. But
it's not this to me, is not a reunion that
would hit like that or like the reunion.
Speaker 6 (06:20):
Of the Backstree Boys.
Speaker 4 (06:21):
You know what I'm saying, Like, just when you thought
you can never see the Backstory Boys again, don't worry.
Speaker 6 (06:25):
They got back together. They did split up. It was
over and then Kevin left.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Remember yeah, I remember Kevin.
Speaker 6 (06:32):
I wouldn't say it was just over.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
It seemed like it wasn't that they broke up and
they but it was over that the you know, the
chapter that was Backstree Boys seemed to have come to
an end, and then Kevin left, and then they reunited
without Kevin, and then Kevin eventually came back. Those hit
certain spots like that's nostalgia, that's us wanting to see entertainment.
Speaker 6 (06:51):
It's different this. I don't know what this is.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
I don't know who the audience is for this, because
I I'm not the audience. This is not something that
I am going to record or to in or anything
like that.
Speaker 6 (07:01):
On Friday. If you wouldn't have told me it was.
I saw that they were doing something, but I had
no idea it was this Friday. I don't know who
the audience this is.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
For, Jason, Is that the problem that you have with it?
Speaker 7 (07:10):
Of Yeah, by the way, this is wheelhouse stuff for me.
I love talking about this stuff. So the producer and
the future programmer in me, this is how he reacts
to this story. Okay, it's not that there's no thirst
for skip or there's no thirst for both of these.
I think that the landscape has changed, and you guys
tell me if I'm wrong. My reading of the tea leaves.
(07:31):
As far as programming goes, when you have hosts together, nowadays,
people tune in for like stimulating talk stimulating, not debate,
but just two people that have opinions that are interesting.
A sharing of interesting opinions is I think what the
market wants right now. I think it's over two people
(07:51):
yelling at each other. It's over two people who have
disagreements because it seems canned. It seems like you're you're
forcing one to take one inside and the other to
take the pole or opposite, and it doesn't seem genuine.
There are people in our industry right now that still
think that arguing is good programming when I think it's
a turnoff for viewers and listeners. You guys have an
(08:13):
opinion on that.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
I'll say this, and I don't want to speak for
the guys because they're on vacation, but Cavino and Rich
are are in lockstep. They don't always agree. I mean,
you and I don't always agree, but like they've spent
together twenty plus years together, I've never cuddled and they've
never cuddled. They've never seen each other's junk. But I
also think that that it was it is. Yes, actually
(08:36):
it is, Isaac. That's the joke of it. I wouldn't
be that. Yeah, yeah, thank goodness, it's in the open.
What kind of guy do you think I am?
Speaker 9 (08:43):
Like?
Speaker 3 (08:45):
The point being is they disagree on a lot of stuff,
but it's organic in a way. Rich may have a
point on something, Steve may have it, maybe a Mets
Yankee something. It isn't the scripted out yelling. And I
don't think it's a coincidence that it's on a Friday
after the Lakers could be down two to zero in
a playoff series, because that's Game two of that Thunder
series is on Thursday night, so you know there'd be
(09:07):
a lot of Lebron talk. You know, there'd be that
sort of conversation. I think all of that is planned
with it. To Jason's point, it's not necessarily my cup
of tea. We can disagree, but I'm not into the
I'm gonna give my take and then somebody's gonna just
be on the exact opposite and have war back and forth.
Speaker 6 (09:22):
Exactly, I am down, don't.
Speaker 4 (09:24):
I don't want to yell at you. If I'm yelling
at you, that means I'm not having a good time.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
You know.
Speaker 4 (09:27):
I know I raise my voice at you at times,
Dan when I disagree, but that that attack, like, that's
not something I want to listen to. If I'm in
the car and I have just grolling through the stations
and I come across two people just kind of engaged
in what seems like a yelling match, I it's gonna
be difficult for me to want to stick around. But
(09:48):
like you said, or like you said, Jason, like more
of like a discussion.
Speaker 6 (09:53):
Where maybe my goal is to change your mind.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
But I'm not going to change your mind if I
come at you being a complete ass.
Speaker 6 (09:59):
You know what I'm saying. But the goal should be
that I'm.
Speaker 4 (10:02):
Here, I'm gonna try and change your mind, but I'm
not gonna do that.
Speaker 7 (10:05):
I'm not trying to win. Yeah, I'm not trying to win.
Speaker 6 (10:08):
I'm not trying.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
Yeah, it's like I'm trying to change your mind and
see things from my perspective. That's my goal. It's never
really to win, even though I do like to win.
I love winning, but we are never I don't think
you and I are ever trying to beat the other one,
because that's a different feeling.
Speaker 6 (10:24):
Like neither of us comes out of here feeling like
a loser.
Speaker 4 (10:27):
Sure, and I'd beel like there's times where other discussions
someone's trying to make you feel like a.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
Yeah, and I have respect for your opinions, whether I
agree or disagree. And it's the same thing with Cavino
and rich and I think that there's an obvious respect
between steven A and Skip Bayless. I'm just wondering. I'm
just wondering, what is the what is the play after this?
Speaker 4 (10:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (10:45):
Because that's that's why this is can't be just this.
This isn't just a one off thing, So what is
the play after it? And to Jason's point, if it's
for something bigger or something more, I'm not sure there's
necessarily an appetite for it. You talk about pairings that
like didn't work right up Moncy's Alley. You had Ross
and Rachel be such a great storyline in Friends early on.
I couldn't stand it when they were together and all
(11:07):
they kind of got together like at the end and
other certain parts and they had the kid together.
Speaker 6 (11:12):
Or whatever it.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
Yes, that was annoying to me. I liked it better
when they were a part. So not all reunions are great.
They're not.
Speaker 4 (11:18):
Not all reunions are great. Not long ago, we just
saw my Clippers reunit with CP three, and boy that
didn't go well.
Speaker 6 (11:26):
So that reunion was rough.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
Can't go home again, can't go home again? I can't.
I know, not every reunion is going to look at
When Lebron and Dwayne Wade tried to team up again
in Cleveland, Yeah, like that was a that.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
Suck for Dwayne Wade more than anybody, like for him,
totally changed all of it.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
All of the people that Lebron made wear a Calve's uniform.
No disrespect Cleveland, but like it's like just guys you
never thought you would ever see and then you are like, huh,
look at it, look at them. But that was that
was another reunion that ended up going awry.
Speaker 6 (12:02):
Another reunion that went awry. John Gruden and the Raiders, Yeah, yeah,
that did not well well.
Speaker 3 (12:10):
It worked out for the Raiders and Mark Davis up
to a point, but then Gruden was put with those
emails leaked about, and I don't think that Mark Davis
wanted to fire him. Sure there wasn't great success. They didn't,
you know, bring the team back and put them at
a super Bowl caliber team like Gruden did. And then
of course Gruden leaves for the Buccaneers and beats them
in the Super Bowl the next year. But we're getting
(12:32):
some dynamic duo Scott for Mayor on the chat, Nancy
Carrigan and Tanya Harding. I don't know if they were
ever a team, I'm not I'm not sure. He also
added Aikman to Irvin and Cheech and Chong.
Speaker 6 (12:46):
That's the one.
Speaker 7 (12:47):
But it was very different, by the way, very different
things there.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
Tanya Harding and and Nancy Kerrigan never on the same
team competing against each other, but quite the.
Speaker 6 (12:58):
Duo, but a duo, yes, the less Anne.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
Irvin were on the same team, never separated because they
never played for another team, so they were always together.
And I don't think there was ever a point where
Chee Chen Chong weren't together, right, I don't think that
there was a breakup.
Speaker 7 (13:15):
Yeah, up in smoke was not them separating, you know,
there was smoke was sunt for something else.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
No, it wasn't.
Speaker 7 (13:24):
But you can't mention Kerrigan without Tanya Hardy. They're they're
forever inseparable. But that's a different category. How about how
about James Harden and Kevin Durant. They've had a couple
of reunions, right, it never quite works. It's like a
law of diminishing returns. Every time they get back together,
it doesn't work.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
You're right, You're right about that. It didn't work out,
and he was Harden was more of the third wheel
in Oklahoma City if you wanted to look at with
Durant westbrook and then Harden coming in. But when they
tried to team up in Brooklyn and didn't necessarily work out,
and Harden wasn't in shape and Durant wasn't happy with that. So, yeah,
(14:05):
that didn't work out. It didn't work out like you
would have hoped. It wasn't a reunion, but the Bucks
trying to teamyan Us up with a superstar and that
did not. Yeah, they's not like they were together at first,
but you were trying to pair something up together, and
for the Bucks, it wasn't the first time because when
they had their core team twenty five years ago of
(14:26):
Sam Cassell, Ray Allen, Glenn Robinson, Tim Thomas and went
to the Eastern Conference Finals. They ended up making the
trade a couple of years later, trading ray Allen to
the Sonics for Gary Payton, teaming him up. And yeah,
it didn't work out. It did not work out in
Milwaukee with that, So reuniting that trade because now what
(14:46):
happens is because it's the twenty fifth anniversary of the
Sixers going to the Conference finals in two thousand and
one and going to the NBA Finals and Alan iverson
that long oh my playing in that final. Everybody remembers that. Again,
no team has gotten more mileage losing an NBA finals
in the two thousand and one Philadelphia seventy six Ers,
no doubt about it. She's Monci Boloanhos. I'm Dan Byer.
(15:06):

They've never cuddled, They've never seen each other's junk.
Speaker 4 (15:43):
That's right, Cavino and Rich have never cuddled and have
never seen each other's junk.
Speaker 6 (15:47):
What's up? Everybody happy? Sinco a maayo? Sinco? That drinko?
I am Monty Belangos.
Speaker 4 (15:52):
He is Dan Bayer filling in for the guys because
they are on a much deserved vacation.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
Crane on the live chat on YouTube cam Newton reuniting
with Carolina had a good one night stand.
Speaker 6 (16:05):
I like what Michael Lopez said.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy question mark good happened.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
We also got a tweet from lex on X that
didn't mean to rhyme, but I guess it did if
they're the same letters. I don't even know if it's ay.
I'm just repeating what lex on X said that twelve
blocks is shrinking this from our main show tweet that
said Victor Weman Yama shrunk in a big spot. Nobody
was of eight from three point range last night. Yeah,
(16:33):
and they didn't look, didn't look to go to him
in the in the clutch when they needed to. They
allowed Julian Champagney to take the game winning shot. And
I'm just I'm surprised by it.
Speaker 4 (16:45):
Yeah, and we're actually not overreacting. Neither of us said
that the series is over in any way.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
How about the Spurs reuniting with relevancy right, yes, yes,
for two decades they were there and then all of
a sudden, then they were off, and now they get
women Yama on their back to it. Welcome back, angry
Spurs fan Jason Stewart, I was sam Isaac Lowing crom
part of the crew. Today. We're gonna hear a war
of words between Raymond Green and Austin Rivers. But first, Jason,
we got a call on the lines.
Speaker 7 (17:11):
Gunner, and Minnesota really wants to get on on this Dubos.
Speaker 3 (17:14):
All right, let's hear it, Gunner.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
Okay, how's right?
Speaker 3 (17:19):
Great, don't make us regret this.
Speaker 9 (17:21):
Oh, You're not gonna regret this.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
Jell, Caroline Patters, Williams and John Stewart.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
I love it. Yes, there were a great duo in
the backfield, thunder and Lightning. I would say that Stuart
was more of the thunder, Williams more of the lightning,
but still two great backs in Carolina? Was that Big
Mike's cousin calling a Carolina Panthers fan? By the way,
are we doing Big Mike's take runs this place? Whatever?
Speaker 6 (17:50):
That new sex?
Speaker 7 (17:51):
What is it?
Speaker 3 (17:51):
Sam Samon shook his head. No, you are putting the
Kebasha day in advance to not do Mike Big Mike's
usual segment on Wednesday.
Speaker 8 (18:01):
It's Big Mike who runs this take. We haven't done
any of the see in our mainstays, so.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
I don't know.
Speaker 8 (18:06):
I mean, here's here's the reason why why would we
Here's the reason why I'm not doing midweek Major.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
A lot of times when Monsey and I fill in,
the guys are in for Dan Patrick earlier in the day,
so they've got their elements that they do right now.
If Big Mike is here and isn't on with them
in the morning, I don't know why we couldn't do
it tomorrow. So I don't know if I don't know,
if Big Mike, who does not run this place, by
the way.
Speaker 6 (18:31):
Does it.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
I mean he has a small area that he controls,
but does not run the whole place. We'll bring it
up for debate. I still think it's open. I think
Big Mike has a welcome seat at the table tomorrow
if he likes to do block Eastern time. If Big
Mike wants to run this take tomorrow, he can do it.
But I will not be doing midwek major.
Speaker 6 (18:52):
Okay, thanks so much, Sam, thank you so much. Taking
a week off, Yeah, but you're here. I am, but
I'm not doing so you're not taking the week off.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
And by the way, a week off from midweek? Wen,
how you here anybody say the Broncos beat the Vikings
nine to six? Anybody say that from the other night
because it was a nine to six hockey game. And
so in baseball when it gets fourteen to seven, people
will try to say, oh, the Steelers they beat the
Bengals fourteen to seven. Oh sorry, there's the Pirates and Reds.
It's the worst joke. It's so dumb. You know what
(19:21):
else is dumb? This war of words between Austin Rivers
and I'm sorry Che's wants to Bilonial. So I'm Dan
Bayer in for Cavino and Rich Maybe Austin Rivers can
save us. He was on Dan Patrick on Friday, it
was my mom's birthday, talking about talking about Steve Kerr
and this is what it all, this is, this is
how it all started.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
It's ridiculous. It's uto ridiculous. You know what's shocking. He
has such a high IQ. That's what that's a big
part of his game is how smart of a basketball
player he is. So it's it bewilders me that he
even thinks like this, because it's like dray Bonten, them
taking a chance on you and them playing you and
Steve putting you at the forefront of that offense, making
(20:01):
you be the point forward and letting you allow you
to have that voice, to be the emotional leader of
that team. Steve let him be who he was, so
to hear he was hindered, especially Drayma has never been
an offensive score juggernaut. Is he's left open eighty percent
of the game, no one guards him. I don't know
what way he was hindered and why they would ever
draw plays for you to score you were never a scorer.
Speaker 3 (20:24):
So that was dream. Excuse me. Austin Rivers talking about
Draymond Green saying that Warriors coach Steve Kerr held him back.
Speaker 4 (20:30):
Right, He said that he held him back, said that
there were no plays made for him in the playbook
for I don't know how many years.
Speaker 6 (20:37):
He's like, do you know there's not a single play
for me? Right now? Okay?
Speaker 8 (20:41):
Yeah, I do believe that because their first steph, yeah,
Clay for.
Speaker 6 (20:46):
Kevin Durant's yeah, Steph again.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
Draymond, why don't you run hit Lebron on the nuts?
How about you run that play?
Speaker 10 (20:52):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (20:53):
And then get suspended for Game five and then the
rest is history.
Speaker 6 (20:57):
Yeah, I Dreima.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
I know this isn't new, and for for us to
hear that Draymond is saying something so completely out of
his ass, but like to then double down on it
and then to attack Austin Rivers, who handled it perfectly
in his response, do we have that respect?
Speaker 3 (21:11):
We've got Draymond first. So Draymond responding to what Austin
Rivers said on Friday, this is what Draymond had to say.
Speaker 10 (21:18):
Austin, you and I arever was just saying my points
in high school. I say high school because that's when
you were at your best.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
Should he really talk about my NBA career?
Speaker 10 (21:27):
God received the biggest bell out in US history prior
to President Trump Ellen out airlines when his dad gave
him forty two million dollars.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
Now we edited that obviously he was longer, but you
did intel with some of the breaks. He wasn't talking
that strange, but that's essentially what Draymond shopp back to
Austin Rivers and then Austin Rivers having what I think
could be the last word, but with Draymond, maybe not
earlier today.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
Draymond, you were the luckiest basketball player I think I've
ever seen, especially in modern day history. Let's talk about that.
You were drafted to a franchise with the Hall of
Fame front office, Bob Myers, Hall of Fame coach, Steve Kerr,
the greatest shooter of all time and perhaps the.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
Top five player of all time.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
Steph Curry, Hall of Famer, one of the greatest shooters,
top five shooter.
Speaker 8 (22:11):
Of all time.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
Another Hall of Famer, Klay Thompson, the Swiss Army Knife himself,
the guy who could do a little bit of everything
on the floor under Aidala, another Hall of Famer. I know,
keep up is a lot of talent, not to mention
one of the most lethal scores of all time and
arguably a top ten player of all time. Kevin Durant,
the same guy you chased off because of this your mouth.
You talk too much. And that's not even counting the
plethora of talent around those guys, the Andrew Wiggins, the
(22:33):
Jordan Pools, who you also chased off.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
Cut it out.
Speaker 2 (22:36):
Dremond, You're the backpack jump shooter.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
You're the guy that everyone leaves open. No one guards you.
Speaker 2 (22:41):
There are hours and hours and hours of film of
just you being left wide open. In fact, anybody can
just YouTube or Google or watch any Draymond game ever,
and he's opened all game. There are clips of you
getting a rebound and just driving in a straight line
and just getting a wide open layup because everyone's fanning
out to guard the actual talent on the team. Talk
about Steve Kurr hinted your career, bro, Steve Kerr made
your career. How dare you coming at me? Are you
(23:02):
kidding me?
Speaker 9 (23:02):
Which I could give must on two hundred million dollars
with balls of coach. You know, the NBA doesn't give
coaches coaching jobs, and guys who may or may not
sucker punch one of the players and staff ouch.
Speaker 4 (23:14):
And there's a SoundBite I think he may have said
this in with Dan Patrick where he's like Steve.
Speaker 6 (23:21):
Kerr, let you be you? What are you talking about?
He lets you be the crazy guy that you are
on the court. That's what he did for you.
Speaker 4 (23:30):
And I thought that was such a good point because
many teams, many coaches would not have dealt with Draymond.
Speaker 6 (23:37):
Green let alone, let him be who he is.
Speaker 4 (23:41):
They would have you know what I mean, like made
him shrink instead Kurt let him be that. So it's
just kind of like, why are you talking smack on
this coach? And now when you get told what the
mic dropped by Austin Rivers, do you want to come
and and talk smack.
Speaker 6 (23:53):
To him and bring up high school? Wasn't Austin Rivers
like huge in college?
Speaker 3 (23:57):
Yes? Yes he was. He was the tenth overall pick.
He was one of the top recruits, if not the
top recruit to in high school basketball, which is something
you mentioned as well of Draymond. Yeah, they averaged the
same amount of points. But Austin Rivers is like, I'm
playing a national schedule, right because he was playing in Florida,
That's where he was in high school. But he's like,
that's who I'm playing against, and you're playing a local
(24:18):
schedule and playing against those sorts of players. What you
said you said to me? That for as great as
what Austin Rivers was saying, that he was saying what
a lot of us have already thought about Draymond is that.
Speaker 4 (24:32):
Yeah, I don't think he said anything that anyone is
like surprised that Austin Rivers said it.
Speaker 6 (24:37):
Yes, Are we surprised that he said it out loud
as a player? Maybe?
Speaker 3 (24:40):
Yes? And that is the that is that is the
line of where I think. It's not that Austin Rivers
crossed it in a bad way, but he is now
saying what I think so many other NBA players never
would say publicly. I I assume that this conversation has
probably happened in so many circles. The other thing that
(25:00):
Draymond Green needs to be thankful for with the Golden
State Warriors is the thing that shocked me so much
about the Jordan Poole situation. Was that the Warriors were
more concerned about the leak of the video than of
the actual action by Draymond Green, which was punching a teammate.
So think about that organization having your back and you're
(25:21):
mad because they're not calling a play for you in
a game, or didn't call plays for you, Like, think
about that, Like if this was in any other sort
of workplace, that person is gone. And I don't like
to compare real world to sports a lot of times,
but the Warriors had his back. They did, they backed
him up, and to forget about all of that as well,
(25:44):
I think does not shine well on Draymond.
Speaker 4 (25:46):
No, and again this isn't new right, Like Draymond says
a lot of stuff, but this one, it's like, I
just felt like Kerr catching strays for no reason. Added
to what Austin Rivers said that he's like, not only
didn't let you be you, he let you be this
point forward that I don't think Draymond thought he could do,
but he became that, and then he became a defensive
(26:07):
star and all that. But it's like, why attack Kerr
in this situation where it seems like Kerr is out
the door?
Speaker 6 (26:14):
You would think that it would just be nice things
to say.
Speaker 4 (26:18):
About the coach that led you and your team to
multiple championships, the coach that let you punch someone and
stay on the team, the coach that let you be
this point forward and kind of facilitate a lot of
the offense for the stars that you play with. It's like,
why attack him now? This doesn't make any sense to me.
Speaker 3 (26:36):
I will also make this prediction that Jason, actually I'll
I'll hold the prediction at the end. You were intrigued,
Jason Stewart by this audio just back and forth and
really how it even caught wildfire on social media, And yeah,
that's what.
Speaker 7 (26:49):
I was intrigued by is that on my time on today,
this kept coming up as being repurposed by people that
follow the NBA, people who follow sports as like a
mic drop, and I think everything else and said is
going to hit Draymond really hard because it's something that
has been talked about by current and former players, and
it comes off as very true. Draymond won't let him
(27:11):
have the last word. There's gonna be something else, but
I don't know what he could say. And then also
just the aspect of like what Austin didn't bring up
isn't Draymond Green noticed the guy who got suspended for
Game five? And the twenty sixteen NBA Finals, the greatest
finals of all time if you want to go through,
like they lost a three to one lead, Lebron made
the block and all that stuff that was despite of
(27:33):
Draymond Green. In other words, they would have had an
extra championship. And then you bring up the fight with
Pool after that season, Steve Kerr, after not saying it
all season, said that that had a massive impact on
that team because the Warriors were underwhelming in that season
as well. Two direct causes of Draymond Green actions that
(27:54):
cost Warriors literal championships and seasons.
Speaker 3 (27:57):
I'll give you a third. They basically chose to Raymond
Green over Kevin Durant. Remember Kevin Durant came out and
said that nobody stoock up for him when he and
Draymond had that war of words, and so essentially by
not sticking up for Durant, they were sticking up for
Draymond Green. So Durant's like, no matter what you think
of Kevin Durant, He's like, deuces, I'm out of here.
There's another point of it, so you can add a
(28:18):
third one to it. You're right, Draymond Green will come back.
I'm not trying to sound cool and hamp I'm gonna
be fifty soon. But it reminds me of a pop
culture thing that we had lately, the Drake Kendrick Lamar
right back and forth. I don't know if Drake put
on a song after not like us, he may have.
I don't know about it. Like it ended with that point,
and I feel that even if Draymond comes back and
(28:40):
says whatever he said, that it ends with what Austin
Rivers said today. And that's where I think that this
beef comes right. And you're right that he's going to
go and say something and say something more, but it's
just gonna be noise.
Speaker 4 (28:53):
That's a really good point because after the way he
ended it, what possibly could you say, Draymond except just
make noise?
Speaker 3 (29:01):
I think, and I'll say this, we had Austin Rivers
on he was a guest of our show when we
were in the other studio. This is years ago, and
I just love the way that he was during the interview.
Austin Reeves is going to have a better media career.
Austin Rivers. Yeah, sorry, literally, Austin Rivers will have a
better media career than Draymond Green has. Austin Rivers is
(29:22):
really good at this stuff, really good at this stuff,
and he's careful with his words. The Draymond Green stuff
a lot of it's shock and awe, and at some
point that's going to wear off. But Austin Rivers is
really good at this his hecuse Dad was able to
transition right from from playing and got into broadcasting and
then now obviously coaching. But Austin Rivers is really good
(29:44):
at this business.

because we were just talking about Draymond Green and Austin
Rivers and Sam, you q up a little CCR.
Speaker 8 (30:20):
Little Green River by credence. That's why they pay him
the big Bucks. That's right, it's amazing.
Speaker 7 (30:27):
I think a lot of listeners right now are like,
isn't that green river? And weren't they just talking about
green and rivers?
Speaker 6 (30:35):
Fine, Sam, you can take tomorrow out.
Speaker 3 (30:37):
Imagine if they played this at Austin City Limits. That
would be amazing.
Speaker 7 (30:41):

Speaker 3 (31:14):
Sorry, weebell, what I was banking on Iowa, Sam is
actually on the Ones and twos. Christopheretibe at the news
desk tomorrow. I had that put that correction in there. Yes,
So the Celtics are out of the postseason. They're done.
They lost to the seventy six ers and seven games.
Buckstonn't make the postseason, and now we have some people
connecting dots and saying, could maybe, just maybe the Bucks
(31:37):
be willing to trade Jannison Tetacoumpo to the Boston Celtics.
Is that a piece that you think that would work
for Boston. I'm going to give my biased Milwaukee side
opinion in a second, but in a swap of your Boston,
are you satisfied in getting Giannis and giving up Jalen
Brown and other pieces to try to win another title?
Speaker 4 (31:58):
If I'm Boston, I don't see if this is a
real possibility.
Speaker 6 (32:02):
And they're saying that Boston has been.
Speaker 4 (32:03):
Vocal behind closed doors about wanting Jannsantatokompole. If I'm Boston
and this is like a real opportunity, I say yes
a thousand times.
Speaker 6 (32:11):
It would sucked for Jalen Brown. But again, if I'm
just Boston, I'm not looking at it from the Milwaukee side.
Speaker 4 (32:18):
If I'm just Boston, I would absolutely take Jannistatakoombo and
come have him be. It's just he's different to the
Celtics offense. He would be something where every team on
the East that is so used to maybe playing this
type of Celtics team, You're gonna have everything you've practiced
last couple of years, You're gonna have to change it
because he's gonna change the way that they play.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
If they shoot sixty three is a game, You'll have
the lane wide open for him, wide open for him,
and do whatever he wants. Exactly the flip side of this.
And by the way, I think the consensus and hearing
people talk about this possible match made we're talking about
duos that it would be a win for Boston. Boston
would say yes to this. People are saying, why would
Milwaukee say yes to this? And it's it's more about
(33:02):
Jalen Brown. I'm hearing of people saying, why would you
say yes if you're getting Jaalen Brown. I actually, as
a Bucks fan, would love to get a player the
caliber of Jalen Brown, more so than Evan Mobley vj Edgecombe.
I know who you love and Jason Knewtt as well
was a name that had been thrown out there that
Milwaukee was asking for in deals. If you were to
(33:23):
go to Cleveland or go to Philadelphia, I like Jaylen Brown,
even if he's more advanced in his career and VJ.
Edgecomb is still starting out his career. Could be wrong
about that, but here's the problem with it. The Bucks
are in such dire straits because of the bad moves
that they made in acquiring Damian Lillard, and they're still
(33:43):
paying off the Drew Holiday trade. They don't have control
of their first round picks from here until twenty thirty.
Twenty thirty one is the first year where they could
just keep their own pick and do what they need
to do with it. Otherwise they don't have a pick
or it's a pick swap that they have to do now. Manci,
not only do they need a player, they need picks.
(34:04):
They need picks that can help them build that team.
And if you're getting Jalen Brown, you're probably not getting
the picks that you need. And also if you're sending
them to a contender, you're probably not getting the picks
that are going to be that good in the draft
unless you've acquired them in other spots. It's why a
place like Oklahoma City is always talked about because they
have so many picks the power. Yes, they've got so
(34:26):
many of them. There are other teams as well. But
that's the problem with this is the Bucks need a
lot of help. And maybe in the long run, if
you took those three players in Mobili and Jalen Brown
and Edgecomb, Edgecomb would be the guy because the youngest
and the potential. But you need more around it. And
that's the tough part of where Milwaukee is. So on
the Milwaukee side of thing things, it's just going to
(34:47):
take a lot to want to make a deal.
Speaker 4 (34:48):
Jalen Brown is great and anyone should want him, but
you're right, it's almost like it's just not a balanced offer,
Like it's not a win win situation.
Speaker 3 (34:56):
What's the point of having Jalen Brown if you've got
nothing around them? Can any you have any picks to
be able to, you know, replenish, who do you like tonight?
Calves are Pistons, Calves, I'll take the Pistons. Lakers are thunder.
Speaker 6 (35:06):
The Lakers Thunder.
Speaker 3 (35:07):
Talk to tomorrow.
