Speaker 1 (00:19):
All right, do you want to address the elephant in
the room?
Speaker 4 (00:22):
No, what's the elephant in the round?
Speaker 1 (00:23):
The tension between Big Mike and Iowa Sam that is
brewing as we speak. You can see this on our

(00:45):
Just search Cavino and Rich FSR and subscribe. The in
house chat was right, They're like, I didn't hear Covina
on Rich on DP this morning. Did the guys actually
take a vacation? Yes, they did. They actually took a
week off. Sometimes Steve will take off and I'll just
be Rich here. Origin'll take off. It'll just be Steve here.
But they're all taking a break, including Danny g So,
(01:05):
Jason Stewart's here, Chris Purfett aka Prison Mike is at
the news desk, and Iowa Sam our technical producer, and
of course it's Wednesday at six o'clock Eastern time. Big
Mike is in the studio. Hello Big Mike.
Speaker 5 (01:18):
Hello Dan Bayer and before we case to.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
We gotta we gotta settle this. Sam. Are you okay
with Mike being here right now? Because I know yesterday
you kind of wanted to put the kebash on it
is that? Is that fair? Listen?
Speaker 3 (01:36):
I'm fine with it. I think the bigger grudge is
between Prison Mike and Big Mike. I was just saying
Big Mike can do whatever he wants. I'm taking a
week off midweek major.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
Is this an accurate depiction of what happened or description?
Speaker 4 (01:48):
Jason Stewart, No, not at all.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
I don't remember saying anything like he couldn't do uh,
you know Big Mike who runs his take.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
I don't remember that at all.
Speaker 6 (01:55):
This is how it went.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
You're misremembering.
Speaker 6 (01:57):
I guess I am. Dan Bayer wondered on the air,
are we going to do the mic Big Mic segment tomorrow?
And Sam gave a very firm, obvious shake of the head, like,
no way in.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Hell, okay, oh, let me explain.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
Let me explain my reasonings, because we haven't done any
mainstays all week for Covino and Rich any of their benchmark.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Bits, so it's like, why would we do just one randomly?
Speaker 3 (02:23):
But then I came around quickly to the idea of
Mike jumping on and doing his segment here. But then
I just press and then I said, I'm not doing
midwek major, I'm taking a week.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Mike Tyson, Shaq, Patrick Mahomes, they're all on vacation. It's
like Cavino and Rich are We're not going to do
a last man.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
Standing, No, because you would win.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
We're past that already, We're past that.
Speaker 5 (02:43):
And Dan does always win.
Speaker 7 (02:44):
And Dan always went.
Speaker 4 (02:47):
And that's right.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
She wants her own titles. Danny g wanted to group
them into the just the anchor pile, No.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
Just Dan Bayer's pile. I think specifically the buyer could
not do it. Give me my own.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
So you're cool with Big Mike being here now, I'm
so cool with it. All right, all right, We're good
with that. I have no strong feelings one way or
the other. This is a newer segment here because it
replaced the old segment Big Mike's Words of Wisdom, where
you had to remember exactly what Big Mike said. And
it's fitting because I can't remember the name of the
(03:22):
new segment, so I'm gonna let the intro tell you.
Speaker 8 (03:25):
The microphone assassin, it's time for Mike who runs this take?
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Who Big Mike may get to be in charge of
the segment, but he still doesn't run this place. He
really doesn't even run this segment when you think about it,
because this Mike can be turned off like Sam at
any moment.
Speaker 8 (03:40):
That may be true, but Big Mike does get to
pick the topic and then CNR offer their strong opinions
on it. Consider it a warm up to Midweek Mature
Mike who runs this take?
Speaker 1 (03:51):
I called it Big Mike's take that runs this place.
That's that I called it on our run, though.
Speaker 4 (03:58):
It was all the right words. Yeah, a little bit
out of order.
Speaker 5 (04:01):
To be fair, I'm thinking of boycotting just because it's
obvious that Sam doesn't like me, although he's claiming on
the air that none of that was true, but we
really know the truth sam Ike, and that's a nice
spin this year.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
Yesterday, after the show, Mike, I said, Hey, I think
Dan Jason want you to do what big my co
runs take.
Speaker 5 (04:18):
Dan Buyer refuses to admit I run anything. So there's
that Ronce. He's never really liked me to begin with.
That's Mike.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
I can't even see you right over there.
Speaker 5 (04:28):
Mike over there is giving me some like stink eye.
I don't even know why I'm here, honestly, with all
the heat coming at me.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
I also noticed Manzi look at me when I said,
let's address the elephant in the room, and I think
she thought actually meant you did too. Yes, his old
nickname was Rhino. By the way, his old nickname here
was Rhino during the Jay Moore days. I he's he
could be the elephant because he remembers everything and is
the smartest guy around. But let's hear the take. Got
(04:57):
the take for this week?
Speaker 5 (04:59):
The take is and this is kind of an ode
to Dan Byer because I'm turning it into a pun
form play on world. All right, it's time to turn
the page on Caitlin Clark. Oh, because the new face
of the WNBA is Page Becker's page Beckers and asy Fudd,
(05:24):
and I don't think anybody's ever going to care one
way or another what happens to Caitlin Clark moving forward
in the WNBA.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
Right now, we got a problem, Mike, Now we got
a problem. Now we got a problem.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
This really, they they face off in the season opener
on Saturday, and I'll say one thing that tells you
what the WNBA thinks of Paige Beckers and Asy Fudd
if they are putting them up against Caitlin Clark in
that season opener. We had seen previously the fever face
the Sky when Angel Reese was a player there. So
(05:56):
now the WNBA is saying, instead of playing off the
Clark Reese rivalry, let's see what we've got with Caitlin
Clark and Paige Beckers.
Speaker 5 (06:04):
And I will tell you exactly what we got. We
got Page Beckers putting Caitlin Clark to shame. Really, yeah,
Game one's coming up. You'll see it, you'll see it.
This is this is my well whatever, yeah, game one
we'll see this is Mike runs this take. That is
(06:25):
my take, and you will see, Sam, your beloved Caitlin
Clark is going nowhere fast.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
So this is just a feeling. This is just a feeling.
There's no real reason you feel this way.
Speaker 7 (06:36):
Because I saw as Fudd in the National Championship and
she barely did anything. So you're telling me Paige Beckers
and Asy Fudd are gonna run the w NBA or
like the narrative of the stories or the headlines all
of this.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
No, they're they're really not.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Gonna be on this take.
Speaker 5 (06:52):
I really do think that.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
I think that all all Fever games are nationally televised.
Speaker 5 (06:57):
Page Beckers Dallas Wings. Page Becker is just a better.
Speaker 4 (07:01):
And so how does that? But that doesn't that doesn't matter.
We see it in her.
Speaker 7 (07:06):
True Even if you want to argue that Page Beckers
is a better basketball player, that is an argument I
think you can have. Sure, But that doesn't mean she
attracts the eyeballs.
Speaker 5 (07:16):
We see talking about. No, no, no, no, we're all about
Page and As nobody's talking about in six.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
Months because we haven't seen her because she was hurt.
She'scause she was hurt.
Speaker 7 (07:29):
Also, we're waiting, we're waiting anticipating the start of the
w NBA season because we haven't seen her. The conversation
about easy foot and Page Beckers had nothing to do
with what they're doing on the court.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
Boom Well has to do with what they're doing in
the locker room or bedroom.
Speaker 7 (07:42):
Right, So, once the season gets going, that is not
gonna matter.
Speaker 9 (07:45):
Yes, that's gonna matter all season long because if they
keep it cool as they have since they have been
teammates before, unless we see them have a catfight in
the middle of a game or in the locker room,
that story is not gonna matter, and they're just gonna
keep dismissing it.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
So it is not have to be with the product
on the court, and.
Speaker 7 (08:01):
Right now, there's no reason to think that that product
on the.
Speaker 4 (08:03):
Court is going to drive the numbers the way the
fever drives numbers.
Speaker 5 (08:07):
It's cute that you think the product on the court
is more enticing two fans than what's going on behind
the scenes. It's cute that you think that that's what
people are going to be talking about or care about,
because it's not.
Speaker 7 (08:17):
That's so you're gonna be like Ezy foot Page Backer's like,
are you guys fighting, And I'm like, no, I'm the
next question, and so what are we gonna get from that?
Speaker 4 (08:24):
It's gonna be the.
Speaker 7 (08:24):
Same They're gonna keep dismissing every question that comes at
them when it comes to them as a couple, as
they have said, unless something happens.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
But I don't think it's gona happen, because again they've
done this before.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
I think this segments called make Manzi mad, we are
calling it today.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
I don't like Mike. Yeah, so he could have said anything.
Speaker 8 (08:42):
I was ready to.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Mike knew what he was walking into because he knows
that Manzy loves Caitlin Clark. She's got a suresy that
was given to her by Iowa Sam.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
I also have that same wear on Friday, we will
and we'll do that market.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
And Jason Stewart says that the only reason you were
interested in the WNBA is because of Kitlin Clark.
Speaker 5 (09:06):
That is affirmative.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
So you've kind of walked into the to the lions
Den and all of this. I will say to Mike's point,
I think it's a very interesting year in a maybe
a tipping point sort of year for Kitlin Clark because
of the injuries of last year. Totally agree with that.
If you don't fulfill it. And so now the first
of three seasons or the only one of three seasons
(09:28):
is actually fulfilling for what you've brought to the pro game.
That can only last so long. There isn't the buzz.
I mean she was on NBC with with their NBA
coverage on Sunday Night, doing the studio stuff, or being
at the arena with Maria Taylor. There's an obvious push
that NBC wants with Caitlin Clark. They weren't bringing other
(09:48):
WNBA stars on. But if she is injured, which she
was almost injured in a preseason game, somebody's going to
have to fill the void, and the new kids in
town could take advantage of that, as evidenced by the
WNBA saying like, let's schedule an opening weekend. Let's put
him in our marquee game, so it's there for the
taking for Page Beckers. Now may take both of them
(10:11):
to take the spot of Caitlin Clark, but I don't
know if he's that far off and if it's going
to happen. I think that they have great interest in
those players.
Speaker 4 (10:20):
I there is great interest in those players. I'm not
denying that, but I think what.
Speaker 7 (10:24):
You're both saying is like, if this, this and this happens,
then this and this is going to happen, And to me,
it's like, okay, yeah, if Kaitlyn Clark gets hurt again,
hopefully that doesn't happen.
Speaker 4 (10:33):
There exactly that story.
Speaker 7 (10:35):
They're gonna be the ones that we follow, of course,
but like going into the season, to say that it is.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
Page Beckers League is something that I can't get.
Speaker 5 (10:45):
Well, I'm not saying it is Page Beckers League. I'm
saying it's about to be.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
Hey, listen, it's still Asia Wilson's League's let's be real here,
and then everyone else is just trying to like actually
rise to her level.
Speaker 7 (10:57):
Sure, but even even the attention though, like Asia Wilson
doesn't for which is amazing, Which is.
Speaker 5 (11:02):
Really what we're talking about, is where the attention is
going to. Who's going to be the face.
Speaker 7 (11:06):
I'm with you, correct, because Asia Wilson is the best
player in the w NBA and there's no denying that,
But I don't know if she garners the attention that
she does. And that's what I was kind of pointing
out that, like the best player doesn't necessarily garner the
attention because Page Beckers, again, you could.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Argue she's a better basketball player. I would still take Caitlin.
Speaker 7 (11:25):
Clark if i'm picking, and I've got both of them,
and it's one of the I'm taking Kaitlyn Clark first,
to be honest with you. But I see the argument.
But yeah, we're more talking about just who's going to
bring in the eyeballs, not necessary attention. Where's the attention
going to go?
Speaker 1 (11:38):
Jason Stewart, executive producer.
Speaker 6 (11:40):
I just think that there are there. This is an
argument between three people that really that love women's basketball
and watch women's basketball, and I'm kind of bored by that,
because thank you so much, I will say this, I
never watched it. I know Asia Wilson is good. I
know she's an MVP, but she hasn't broken through. She
might be the most popular player or the best player
(12:01):
among people that pay attention to the sport, but people
that don't have any time for the sport know who
Caitlin Clark is and they tune in to watch Kitlin Clark.
I don't think you're ever gonna have a better representation
of a league than somebody who has broken through. What's
the word. I'm thinking of somebody who transcends above and
(12:21):
transcends the sport, and by the way. I don't know
if they've called this game anything. I didn't know that
they opened the season against the Wings, but I have
a great ESPN should promote it as the walking double
double against the league's first couple.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
You like the h yeah, a bit of a rhyme.
I like it not alliteration, but you went with a
rhyme on that one. Yeah, yeah, you are the one.
I sorry, Mont, Just because I want to ask, Jason,
are you as excited for this season of Caitlin Clark
in the Indiana Fever as you were to the prior to.
Speaker 6 (12:54):
I'm gonna need her to like, I'm gonna need her
to do something before I start paying attention so she
does and have my attention right away.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Yeah, And I think that's a that's a that's there's
less of a buzz about Caitlin Clark right now.
Speaker 5 (13:06):
And after the w NBA Draft and all the drama
that went on there with you know, the revelations that
these two girls are going to be on the same
squad together, sharing a locker room together, and a relationship together.
I think that's the front page headline right now in
the w NBA. And I think it's gonna you know,
dominate the season as far as where like Monsei says,
(13:26):
the eyeballs go.
Speaker 7 (13:27):
I think they had a chance to dominate it with
that storyline, but I don't think they want to. And
I think that's what I'm getting at. I don't think who.
Speaker 5 (13:35):
Doesn't want to Page and A or the WNBA.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
Nothing to see even kind.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
Of the w NBA. It seems like nobody wants to
touch that.
Speaker 7 (13:43):
Like if they would have leaned into it from the
beginning and the buzz was going on, But like the
buzz has already died down on that particular.
Speaker 4 (13:51):
Storyline of them too.
Speaker 7 (13:53):
Everyone's waiting, but it kind of died down because Nope,
they didn't lean into it their team the league.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
We talked about how the the team didn't handle it
right when they stepped in and spoke for Easy Fudd
when it came to the question about the relationship. So
I feel like they're trying to die it down.
Speaker 5 (14:09):
And to your point, I would say that the buzz
around Caitlyn Clark has died down even more with her
injury and not real lands.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
I think it's been less. I actually think that Caitlyn
Clark has an opportunity to recapture it again. If she
stays healthy shows the development of her game. I still
think that's there. But to Jason's point, he's not gonna
actively watch like he did two years ago.
Speaker 6 (14:31):
If she starts, if she comes out and she starts
doing Caitlin Clark things. And I don't mean just like
you know, getting eighteen points in ten assists. I'm talking
about like doing what she did that captivated us, those
logo threes on fast breaks and put it in in
the other person's face and just being Caitlin Clark. That's
what I want to see.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
And she's still in She's still in all these commercials, Gatorade,
State Farms. She has to back up her presence in
the commercial world and just being still there present, you know,
on TV with the stats and the big highlights.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
Let me ask Mike this question, because I think Beckers
is a better basketball player than asy Fudd. I think
that that's sure. So if Paige Becker's takes off, does
or is it a combo thing? Is it how do
you think that they surpass? Like in your mind, is
it Paige Beckers being you know, first team All WNBA
(15:25):
MVP candidate and then by proxy, Asy Fudd is taken
off with that, like, how can they be more popular?
Or is it they're more popular because guess what, they're
not a couple anymore.
Speaker 5 (15:34):
Well, really, the truth is it's Paige Becker's right, You're,
as you said, as is along for the ride. She's
a good player, obviously, you know she's a first overall pick. Yeah. Yeah,
But but I think I think moving forward we talk about,
you know, the eyeballs. I don't think the story is
going away like the WNBA wants it to, like Page
(15:55):
and a Z want it to. I don't think it is.
I think the focus is going to remain on that
and I think best case scenario for w NBA is
we get a Page Beckers, Caitlin Clark, Magic and Larry
type of situation. That's that's the win for the w NBA,
that's what they really need.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
I don't know if people realize that Angel Reese is
on a different team. Yeah, yeah, so is Asia Wilson.
Speaker 5 (16:22):
Well, I've always thought that Angel Reeves Caitlin Clark rivalry
was I mean, it was a college rivalry, but as
the games go, it's it's nothing.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
The Sky Sky that's Angel Sky weren't good and how
Angel Rees is on Atlanta Dream Team.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
I think should have a better chances to.
Speaker 5 (16:39):
Angel's just trying to I feel like Angel's more worried
about her brand than worried about basketball, and Caitlyn Clark
is just worried about basketball.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
In fairness, it's probably where it's going to take Angel Reese. Yeah, right,
like honestly, like that's probably what I would focus on
as well, just because.
Speaker 5 (16:56):
He ain't that great. Yeah, it's not bad. She's a
good player. Yes, correct, not saying she's a bad player
at all. Don't don't get me wrong.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
Don't come out me bounding and rebounding machine.
Speaker 5 (17:07):
Sure, yeah she's a walking double double or whatever. Well
that's Caitlyn. But anyway, you know what I'm saying, she's
a good player. But yeah, I think her real future
is and and look, she's gorgeous, angels gorgeous, And I
think and I hate to bring this up because I
hate misogyny in all its forms, but I don't think.
I don't think you can look past the fact that
(17:29):
Paige Becker's is really attractive compared to Caitlyn Clark, who
is a boy.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
Right, you're talking about it.
Speaker 5 (17:40):
I'm talking about I'm talking about the misogyny of the sports,
the fans, the fandom of the misogyny, and how we
are we go that way when it comes to female
athletes and sports.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
I don't want to comment on anyone's looks and who's
attractive or not. What I think is interesting is someone
who is in a homosexual relationship and I had a
real sexual relationship, which has for whatever reason, been a
reason why certain people like or dislike players. And it's very,
very unfortunate that that is happening, but it does. I
don't know if it has anything to do with looks.
(18:16):
I would hope, but it doesn't have.
Speaker 5 (18:17):
Anything to do with I think the same thing does
happen because of looks.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
Yes, I think it does.
Speaker 5 (18:22):
I'm not that guy. I don't agree with it. I
think it's terrible, but I think it's reality.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
But but I'm not that guy. Pet You're not that guy.
What you just said was you think Paige Becker's is
hotter than Kaitlin Clark.
Speaker 5 (18:37):
I think he just said I think she's perceived as
better looking.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
And Kayln Clark did not appear at the met Gala. Okay,
Paige Becker did. Asia Wilson, did Angel Rees did? They
all look great? But Kayln Clark didn't have that chance?
Speaker 1 (18:50):
All right, I just but it's all subject like to you,
like you could you know, maybe Sam thinks Kaitlin Clark's
more attractive than Paige Becker. Like that's the point, because
I don't think that there's a there's an overall like
everybody's got their taste. I just don't think that one
person is hotter than the other, if you want to
talk about that's where I.
Speaker 5 (19:10):
Just I'm not saying that. This is not me saying
me personally. I know, I'm saying that this is the way.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
You know what I'm.
Speaker 7 (19:17):
Trying to say.
Speaker 4 (19:18):
Do you know what you're both trying to say. You're
both you're both saying different things, but you say the
same thing.
Speaker 5 (19:24):
No, we're not.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
We're No, we are not saying the same thing at all.
Speaker 7 (19:27):
He's he's he is not saying what you think he
is saying. Okay, he is not he is not saying
what you think he is saying. Okay, that's what I
That's what I'm trying to say.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
That's what I Yeah, that's referee manci over here. No,
it's to clear it up because that's what I heard.
Speaker 4 (19:43):
No, but I understand what Mike is saying.
Speaker 7 (19:45):
I feel like, honestly, where women are, no matter where
they are, they're judge based on looks, no matter what.
Speaker 5 (19:52):
Unfortunately, that's the truth.
Speaker 4 (19:54):
That's the truth.
Speaker 7 (19:54):
So I think that's just what he's getting at that,
even though you don't look at it like that. Unfortunately,
every all women, especially women up against each other, the
first thing that comes to mind, or the first.
Speaker 4 (20:04):
Thing people want are you, is who is cuter than
the other.
Speaker 7 (20:06):
Even if this has to do about basketball, And I
think that's just what he is hitting at.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
Gotcha, all right, we'll leave it at that. This is
a good one. And I still don't know the title
of the segment. What is it again? I wrote my
Big Mike's take that runs this place, and what is it?
Pretty good though, Big Mike who runs this take, Big
mic who runs this take? Close enough? All right, you
are relieved of your duties.
Speaker 5 (20:26):
Thank you. It was a pleasure.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
She's Wonzi Mike is who I didn't even realize. Did
you scrub that and move it forward to ye? Good work?
I Sam Iowa, Sam's here, Jason Stewart, Chris Purfetz at
the news desk, hanging out for a vacationing CNR here
on Fox Sports Radio. I was so involved in that
I didn't even look at the uh the live chat,
(20:48):
So we'll have to catch up on that.
Speaker 7 (20:50):
Someone said I needed a Snickers.
Speaker 4 (20:52):
I say give me a twigs instead.
Speaker 1 (20:54):
Oh Man, Scott says Hotter Mike or dB.
Speaker 4 (20:58):
Sam, that's a question for you.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
He's got the salt and pepper goats.
Speaker 5 (21:02):
You guys want to judge me on my looks, I'm down.
Go ahead.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
You're at Big Mike's morsels.
Speaker 5 (21:07):
Uh no, no, no, it's at Mike who runs.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
This At Mike who runs this place. That's what you're
ex handling. My bag.
Speaker 5 (21:14):
Hit.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
You can find me at Dan Bayer on Fox.
Speaker 8 (21:18):

Speaker 1 (21:28):
Cavin and Rich Here on Fox Sports Radio, She's Monty Blago.
So I'm Dan Byer. I am celebrating my ninth anniversary
my wife.
Speaker 4 (21:37):
Thank you very much to the buyers.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
Thank you. I will pass it along. She even may
be listening right now, and if she's not she'll say,
what did you talk about? And I'll say, well, Big
Mike wanted to talk about who's hotter, Kaitlyn Clarker Pagebeckers.
So that's what I'll That's what I'll say on our
anniversary night.
Speaker 4 (21:57):
That's good. That's way to start. That's the way to
start dinner. Dan, That's how you open an anniversary.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
Mark said it. On the in house chat on YouTube,
Scott for Mayor says that was better than politics at
the Thanksgiving table, followed by Crane Crane saying, I see
why Mike used to be called the Rhino. Now, I
mean it was there, that was his nickname for a while.
He was Rhino, but he's gone through different you know,
(22:23):
different monikers. Yeah, now he's Big Mike who runs this place,
even though he doesn't.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
He doesn't, he doesn't at all, not even a little.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
Bit, not even a tiny bit. But that's who he is.
And he has a whole new Twitter handle that I
didn't know. I still don't know the title of the segment,
but we'll get there in time. Tonight it's the Nickson Sixers.
Chris Purfet's gonna have details on that in just a second,
followed by the Timberwolves and Spurs. But one point from
last night that was not talked about was the thunder
(22:51):
in their victory. Manzi, Yeah, in getting in, just handling
the victory, maybe an un thunder like fashion, even though
people think that it was thunder like fashion. We talked
a little bit of a little bit of go of
how it's ridiculous that people are calling the thunder a
fluke when they've won a championship, they've had the best
record in the NBA, they seem like they've backed it up.
(23:11):
And then there's the continuing narrative about SGA that you
kind of not that you want it to go away,
but let's just call it a fact.
Speaker 7 (23:17):
It's just I feel like annoying at this point to
keep hearing that SGA is a foul merchant, or that
he flops, or that he does all these things, and
it's like, I agree with it to an extent, but
to see that be a topic of conversation a day
after he shot three free throws.
Speaker 4 (23:38):
That's it, That's all he did. And then.
Speaker 7 (23:43):
When we look at that, to me, I rather have
if my guy's gonna flop, because everybody does it.
Speaker 4 (23:47):
If my guy's gonna flop. I hope he's.
Speaker 7 (23:49):
Flopping while he's driving into the lane and trying to
go for a layup or a short jump shop jump shot,
not when Luka Dancic is around three point line and
he just kicks his little foot out, like at least.
Speaker 4 (24:03):
If you're gonna, I prefer my flopping to be a
little bit more intense. That's all.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
So you're saying with people who are complaining about SGA today,
they're just lying to your face.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
They're just lying to my face.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
And we hate liars. We'll get into that in just
a sec. But first, for over forty years, tirek has
been helping customers find the right tires for how, what
and where they drive, ship fast and freeback by free
road as a protection with convenient installation options like mobile
tire installation tirec dot com. The way tire buying should
be from ber Valdez six game suspension and this kind
of gets under your skin a little bit. Aj Hinch
(24:34):
also getting from the the bean ball that we had
and Hinch did not stick up for his pitcher. But
we're kind of searching for the truth in all of this.
Jason Stewart a part of the conversation as well, but
Valdez ended up plunking a batter after giving up two
home runs and then said, hey, that wasn't that wasn't
the case. And I know that's got some people here,
(24:57):
like Jason Stewart a little bit angry.
Speaker 6 (25:00):
He did the usual thing and it goes back, I know,
decades now, but pictures in the UH in the aftermath
of doing something intentional would just deny it with reporters.
And I think the essence of what we're trying to
get to is, here's like stop lying to us, like
you know, when we just went through an election cycle
a couple of years ago. It's like, we just don't
want people lying to us anymore. And aj Hinch, who
(25:25):
the managers always fall in line. They have their own code.
If the picture says he didn't throw it on purpose,
the manager usually backs it up. And I think we
have sound of aj Hitch and what he said afterwards.
Speaker 2 (25:35):
We play a really good brand in baseball here. I
didn't feel like it. It's not judging intent. I have
no idea, but I I know when you go out
on the field and you end up sort of in
those confrontations, you usually feel like you're in your rioting
because you're you're it didn't feel good being out there.
So I understand there are frustrations. I understand the moment,
(25:59):
and it was a it was a low moment of
a frustrating.
Speaker 1 (26:02):
Night, A low moment.
Speaker 7 (26:05):
Yeah, when you're this is this is where I I'm
a little bit conflicted because, yeah, I don't want you
to lie to me.
Speaker 4 (26:13):
But he couldn't. He couldn't not have lied in that moment.
Speaker 7 (26:17):
We see pictures sometimes hit about her as a as
a way to defend their player in a different situation,
right because something happened an inning or two before.
Speaker 4 (26:27):
We see it all the time. This was franber.
Speaker 7 (26:30):
Valdez's ego being hurt and him standing literally alone on
an island.
Speaker 4 (26:35):
And deciding, I'm just upset.
Speaker 7 (26:37):
I'm gonna hit someone, like what a little baby, what
a little baby. But he can't say that, Like he
can't say, yeah, my ego was hurt.
Speaker 4 (26:46):
I want to hit it.
Speaker 7 (26:46):
I wanted to hit him, and so I feel like
he I agree, I don't want you to lie to me.
Speaker 4 (26:51):
But he can't say that in that situation because there
was no reason for him to do that.
Speaker 6 (26:56):
How about how about my frustrations got the best of me.
That would have a kind to it, as opposed to
just out and out why you know, you.
Speaker 4 (27:04):
Know you're right. He could have said, I wasn't trying
to hit up up.
Speaker 7 (27:06):
My frustrations got the best of me and I lost
control of that pitch.
Speaker 4 (27:09):
That maybe we.
Speaker 7 (27:10):
Would have been like okay, fine, but he could he
completely denied it, and it just was like, dude, like
I know you.
Speaker 4 (27:17):
You can't admit it. Because just like in the.
Speaker 7 (27:19):
NBA, we expect players to hold themselves accountable when it
comes to playing defense and controlling their limbs and not
smacking you on the head. In this situation, it's like
you have the power to really hurt someone by pitching
wherever you want at a one hundred miles an hour,
Like it's it's you know, you have the most responsibility,
I feel like, out of any professional athlete, to hold
yourself account accountable, to not let your emotions get the
(27:41):
best of you, because you can actually cause damage by yourself.
The catcher can't do anything if you decide to go rogue,
and you can really hurt someone.
Speaker 4 (27:49):
So it's just frustrating. It's just frustrating.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
There's a portion of a two of him not coming clean.
That makes you think that it's part of his arsenal
that it could happen again. To Jason's point, if he apologizes,
then he really can't do it again because he would
admit that that's what he was doing. In a way. Now,
if he does it again, I think you're going to
see an even higher suspension than just the one start
that he would miss. But also it's also something that's
(28:12):
happening lately, and it's happened over these last couple of weeks.
There is no bigger story in sports than the Mike
Frabel Diana Rossini affair. And at some point during our
show today that we've had over the last ninety minutes
or two hours, there's now another piece of information that
shows Mike Frabel and Diana Rossini were together at a
certain point. This changes nothing of the story at all.
(28:35):
We've seen them together at a bar, We've seen somebody
take pictures of them at the Arizona Resort, we've seen
them together at the casino. We know what's going on.
Mike Frabel basically admitted it. But because there were not
truths being given to us, and because we now feel
that we are being lied to. Everything that pops up
now is another thing. If the truth was being told,
(28:59):
just would have been another thing, and that would have
been passed on. But now I guarantee TMZ it's probably
the most looked at article of the day or of
the next you know how many hours or whatever window
it is. And it's all because it started on a
lie and we don't necessarily know the whole truth. This
does not rise to the level of that. But Grahm
McDowell spoke with Bob Harrig of Sports Illustrated Gram McDowell
(29:22):
twenty ten US Open winner in golf, who is now
with Live. And if you're on Live right now and
you aren't bricing to Shamba or John Rahm, your options
to continue playing golf and making lots of money are
very limited. And it's murky and you have no idea.
So what does Graham McDowell do. He now admits the
reason why he left the PGA Tour for Live Golf, which,
(29:44):
by the way, was a reason that most of us
knew that we understood. We just wanted to hear it
from the person. Instead, they tried to give us this garbage,
which Gram McDowell basically told Bob Eric like, yeah, it
really wasn't true. They weren't trying to grow the game.
It wasn't to spend more time with their family. And
now that we know this, they're saying this to try
to curry favor to come back to the place that
(30:05):
they want to be. But people are like me, are like,
uh uh, and you can't have it both ways. So
if you would have just told us the truth the
first time around, that you felt your career was down
in the dumps, which, by the way, I'm sorry, I'm
going on a bit of a tangent r Brooks Koepka
actually had said, listen, I had dealt with injuries throughout
my time. I had no idea what was going to
(30:27):
go on. I took the money because I had no
idea what was happening. Brooks then ends up giving back
money to Live Golf and paying the fine to the
PGA Tour to get back on the PGA Tour, where
now it's not about money. But he admitted, and I
think it's actually one of the reasons why he is
welcomed back, not because he had to pay the penalties,
because he was pretty honest on why he ended up
(30:50):
jumping ship. So when you're talking about being lied to,
whether it be from Berveldez, whether it be Mike Vrabel,
or whether it be Graham McDowell, I think we're all
just kind of fed up with it, and it's just
it's in so many different ways. If you tell us
the truth, you're probably going to get more grace.
Speaker 7 (31:05):
If I'm the PGA tour, I would be like, you
can't come back for five years.
Speaker 5 (31:08):
Do some?
Speaker 1 (31:09):
Yes, do some, And a lot of the guys you're right,
like the gram mcdll ian, Poulter, Lee Westwood, they were
in the sunset of their careers. They probably weren't going
to win majors anymore, so they took the bag just
you could have admitted us at that point, Yes, we
did it for the money. The money was absurd. Sorry
if there were human rights violations, Sorry that the journalist
got killed, and they didn't say any of that. They
told the party line because they wanted the money. And
(31:31):
now that that money isn't there, they're asking for forgiveness
and it's just absurd. On my apartment around their apart

and then Spurs in Timberwolves.
Speaker 7 (32:55):
Just a quick question, are you going to try it
to avoid the final score before watching them?
Speaker 1 (33:01):
I try to, but it's not a game breaker because
I want to see how Its perfect example of like
I didn't catch when the Hawks beat the Knicks in
Game two and I had that crazy comeback and I
knew they came back. I'm like, well, I got to
see how they came back, absolutely when you ended up
watching it. Watching it that way to get us prepped
for the nightcap. Jason Stewart is here in a game.
(33:22):
Do you want me to give the title? No, Dan,
I'll take it from here.
Speaker 6 (33:24):
So this is what I did. I thought we could, uh,
we could look ahead to the Spurs Timberwolves tonight by
plane something called tender Wolves.
Speaker 5 (33:35):
Get it.
Speaker 6 (33:36):
See what I did there? So I know we're all
in a loving relationship. And we don't know what tender is,
but it's a dating app. And the basic functionality of
Tinder is that you swipe left on some on a
person that you have no interest in, and then you
swipe right on a person that you're kind of interested
in that you might want to pursue. I'm going to
give you sports takes. Weading into tonight's game, and you
(33:59):
guys each tell me if you swipe right or swipe
swipe left, and why do you understand it?
Speaker 5 (34:04):
Swipe left?
Speaker 4 (34:05):
I don't like it. That means I don't like it, right, okay, okay?
Speaker 5 (34:09):
Or right and I like it?
Speaker 3 (34:11):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (34:12):
Right? You know right? Yeah? Right? I like that one.
Speaker 6 (34:15):
Okay, Well start with many Okay. The series goes back
to Minnesota with the tender Wolves up two.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
Oh, I am.
Speaker 4 (34:27):
Going to swipe left. I don't like that. I don't
think that's what's going to happen.
Speaker 1 (34:35):
Dan swiping left. I think the Spurs gonna win tonight.
Speaker 6 (34:39):
Yeah, so you guys are agreements swiping left?
Speaker 1 (34:41):
Yes, yes, okay?
Speaker 6 (34:45):
Number two Victor women Yama compensates for game one and
scores over thirty points tonight, Dan byr.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
I'll swipe right on that. I think you'll play well
this evening.
Speaker 4 (34:56):
Swipe right.
Speaker 6 (34:57):
I like that, yes, so for compensates. You guys are
both the green people in this building. That's not good.
Radio don't agree, all right? So number three, the announcers
refrain from using the latest buzz term changes the geometry,
damn bar so they won't say that correct. I agree,
(35:22):
I'm gonna swipe right, changing the geometry. Who says that announcer?
Speaker 1 (35:31):
Announcers say that changes the geometry on the defensive end changes.
Speaker 4 (35:36):
Okay, I'm gonna swipe and left because I don't like it.
Speaker 1 (35:39):
You like it good?
Speaker 6 (35:40):
Okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna listen up for it tonight
and see who wins this one. All right. Anthony Edwards
has more of a vintage Anthony Edwards game tonight.
Speaker 4 (35:53):
I am going to swipe left.
Speaker 7 (35:58):
I don't know how he feels. I don't I don't
know if he's one hundred percent, so I don't see that.
I think san Antonio comes out a little like ready
to win. Someone say left Dan.
Speaker 1 (36:07):
I am on record of saying, I don't think the
Timberwolve should even play him tonight. I think they should
rest him they've done their work in san Antonio. Swipe left.
We just agreeing on everything.
Speaker 6 (36:18):
No, no, you guys disagreed on one thing. Okay, okay,
how about this one? Uh Dan Bayer nas Reid becomes
the cheat code again.
Speaker 1 (36:27):
Swipe left. Not tonight. Yeah, it's just not going to
be his night. I think it's going to be a
tough night for all Timberwolves, even in getting iOS as
soon moved back. So I'm swiping left tonight.
Speaker 4 (36:36):
I have to agree.
Speaker 7 (36:38):
I'm swiping left here. I don't see Minnesota having a
great game.
Speaker 4 (36:42):
I don't see it.
Speaker 1 (36:44):
I think they can win games three and four at
home and you can have a nas Reed sort of
night like yeah, but.
Speaker 4 (36:49):
Yeah, I'm with you. I just think san Antonio is
gonna come out ready to crush him.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
And san Antonio did, like when they lost to Portland,
they came out with a spirited effort and even without
when and won that game.
Speaker 6 (37:01):
The final take on the first ever version of tender Wolves,
the game script shifts from the grinded out to a
free flowing and more scoring game.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
Dan Byer, I'll swipe right on that for tonight. I
think that the Spurs win and win comfortably.
Speaker 4 (37:23):
I agree we were a green swipe right. I don't like.
I don't think I could do this. I don't think
I could swipe in real life. I'm having a hard time, Like,
if I have my phone, I swipe right this way
because I like it. No'm my Gusta, Mysta.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
That was Wolves.
Speaker 5 (37:37):
I love it. I love it.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
Job yes, tender Wolves. By the way, Wolves and Spurs
two NBA teams also named uh like English soccer clubs
the Wolves and then We'll be back tomorrow Monci by
