You win a swiggy Call now and beat the listener
who participates in this week's we got five on it,
doing it for the NFL playoffs all this postseason. Your
chance to win through it for John He call now
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox seven seven nine
ninety six six three sixty nine. We be rogginghell, let's

(01:05):
go now. I still have dumb Mets fans friends that
are like, don't worry, people come back to the Mets
to wrap up that last thought. Yeah, sometimes ownership doesn't
have a feel for what the fans are wanting. It
could be a change at the stadium with the team
with something. And I think right now for his great

(01:28):
and almost perfect of an owner as Steve Cohen's been
for the Mets, I think this world of dropping the
ball and this Pee Alonzo thing. Now, hey, maybe they're
right in Pete Alonzo. From this point on, his production
just keeps going down. Maybe maybe he'll end up matting
two h five, hitting twenty eight home runs and it's
just the trajectory's down. But as of right now, they
sign Juan Soto, they do it every they do it all. Yeah,

(01:50):
But what means and then Pilonzo exciting signing great is
that he was going to come to a team that
already had an established backbone and Pete Alonzo is part
of that. He's part of the foundation of what made
the Mets great in my opinion, last year he started
the whole LFGM, right. I mean, so you get rid
of that guy. I'm not saying that Soto's not gonna
play well, but it's not going to be as a

(02:12):
that's a big bat to losing in the lineup, That's all.
I'm he had thirty four home runs on an off
year last year. I'm just saying that if there's a
dude that wants to win, and you know, the Dodgers
look dominant on paper, but the Mets are really you know,
they're in a different position than they used to be.

(02:34):
Ownership wants to spend money and win. And I look
at it like if Pete went somewhere because they said, y'all, dude,
those seven years, two hundred million, you can't resist it?
Would you say about Pete Wentz? If Pete Alonso has
an opportunity to go to like the Angels or Blue
Jays for a little more money, I just find it
so odd that the Mets want to be like, well,
if that's the case, if that's the feeling, just give

(02:56):
him a little more, keep him here in Queens. Like,
I just don't get it at all. It's a really
interesting It's almost like the Mets are anxious to get
rid of pe A Lonzo. It's really weird to see
how this is playing out. And can't wait to see
what happens.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Man.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
I wish the Yankees could have scooped him up, but
then he got gold Schmidt. And it's not like we
also have to keep this in mind too, It's not
that nobody wants Pete, is that they've already made moves.
There's not a lot of space. There's always room for
someone if there's want or else, the Yankees would scoop them.
They got gold Schmidt, they don't need Pete Alonzo, right,
So there's a lot of teams. That's why maybe he
could end up a Blue Jay because the Blue Jays

(03:28):
have to hedge their bet on losing Laddie. You know,
they might need them. Who knows. I'm curious to see
what happens. But based on our other conversation too, Devin
Haney called out Sylvester Sloane for not knowing anything about
boxing off the air. We were talking about how that's

(03:49):
the premise, you know, trusting an actor to be a professional.
That's the premise of Galaxy quest Iowa Sam was saying,
And it's also the premise of Three Amigos. Ever thought
they were.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
The heroes and that's even that's kind of like the
Three Amgos is like a kind of a Truman Show
kind of idea, you know, put on the movie.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
But Galaxy quest underrated moves from late nineties.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Yeah, but both both great, you know, both cult class
and we talked about how actors are kind of knowledgeable
in the roles they're portraying, and Sylvester Sloan definitely one
of those guys. So are you ready to put some
money on it?

Speaker 4 (04:26):
Rich?

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Let's do it? Because I got five on We got
five on it. Because we're all getting involved.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Do it.

Speaker 5 (04:33):
Conference Championship weekend, two big ones on Sunday. We're going
to go around the room and each get to give
our two cents on the against the spread lines here.
Rich will give us those numbers in just a moment,
Let's go to the studio line, see which listener is
gonna win a swiggy and participate with us in the picks.
Gerald in West Kentucky?

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Gerald, What up? Jerald? What's happening to met Gerald's game?
Can you know? Watch that movie and it can't stop
raving about it on their old scheme on Netflix? What
a wild movie that is.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
I've got a story about that.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Do you is it quick?

Speaker 4 (05:07):
I'll try to. I was dating a girl when the
book came out and she bought it for me. And
if you know anything about it. It doesn't start real
well for Gerald.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Yeah, yes, yes, I quit.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Reading after chapter one and we didn't date that much longer.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Wow. Yeah, dude, I had to shut that movie off.
It was so wild, but I ended up finishing it.
I didn't like it that much, but it's a wild movie.
Is a Stephen King movie on Netflix, you know what.
I'll tell you more about it during weekend hobnobbing later
on the show. Now, there's two games, so I don't
want to throw you guys for any loopy loop. But
since it's only two games.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
You're gonna put five oh on it.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
Yeah, let's put fifth. Let's do five oh on it
and then five own it. How about this too, Let's
throw over unders in there just for the hell of it.
That makes it four best, all right? The spread for
each game and the over under. Let's start with the
early game, and I love that the early game is
the you know, the lesser of the two. In my opinion,
everyone's looking forward to Bill's Chiefs. But commanders at Philadelphia

(06:11):
Eagles are favored by six the over under forty seven
and a half. Eagles by six forty seven and a half.
Cavino age before Beauty go ahead. Speaking of Rocky and Apollo,
what do you take the Commanders plus six? Huh? And

(06:32):
I'm going with the over because I mean they were
scoring points like it was nobody's business that last game. Yeah,
anything could happened with Saquon on one side, Dayden Daniels
on the other. Yeah, I'll go with that for the
fun of it. Twenty eight twenty eight, twenty one, twenty
eight twenty four, twenty eight twenty four wins you the bet.
Twenty eight twenty one does not win you the bet.

(06:53):
But yeah, I just think. You know, we talked to
Claim Matthews today about momentum. They both have momentum, so
I think the over is a real good possibility. But
when it comes to momentum, I'm not saying that Philly
don't have it, but I think the Commanders definitely have it.
Before I make my choice, Dann Bayer, what's the weather

(07:13):
looking like in Philadelphia on Sunday? Do you have that
off the top of your head or no? No, Okay,
I'll look. I see I see thirty eight degrees here,
thirty eight degrees.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
And partly cloudy.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
That's what I'm seeing in little the little tiny info
thing on my website.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
I did have the Kansas City when I didn't look
up the channel.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Well, with that said, dB, you're up next if you
want in? What do you What do you think?

Speaker 2 (07:35):
Guys?

Speaker 6 (07:36):
You know I'm a Cavino guy, so I like what
Cavino's cooking there. Commanders plus six nice, and I don't
see any reason why it wouldn't go over. Considering what
we've seen of these teams as of late, I still
am not convinced if Washington is actually good or not.
But I think last week that they proved it. Give
me the Commanders plus six in the Over.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
Well, there you go, dB and Cavino on the same page,
Commanders and the Over. And I don't want to rap
already said that, but I'm I'm going Commanders and the
Over as well. I really am for three anyway. I
feel you on your explanation was sot of what I
was thinking. So I'm not going to just be a
conchrarian for the hell of it.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
We could go fast here. It's exactly what I wrote down.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Man, all right, So we all like Commanders in the Over?
Is that just a sentimental pick? Do we? I mean?
The Eagles have not lost in a long time, but
they did lose thirty six thirty three.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
See what spot in Iowa? Sam and Gerald think.

Speaker 7 (08:31):
Yeah, what do you think I'm going to take the
commanders because I think there it's their time. But I'm
I'm going to take the under. Okay, I think they're
they're going to cancel each other out, and I think
it's gonna be at.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
Little defensive battle in the first half of you a
little little nerves. Gerald, what do you think, buddy?

Speaker 4 (08:45):
Well, I hate to pile a loan, but I gotta
go Commanders and over. But I would be willing to
go money line. Is I get to make you know,
some more money out of it?

Speaker 1 (08:56):
Commander's money line? Why not? Right? So if you like
the commanders, some people saying why not go Commanther's money line?
Then all right, Gerald, Covino, myself and Buyer all the same,
Danny the same. Sam. What do you got?

Speaker 3 (09:07):
I got the Eagles winning, Commanders covering, and I'll take
the over I think.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
So is that what everyone else picked?

Speaker 1 (09:12):
We're all going Commandther's over except for Spotty on the under. Yep, Wow,
I look at that. All right, Let's move on to
the Sunday game Game two, same game two AFC battle.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Now we could ask about the weather on that one.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Yeah, build Chiefs. What is the weather report, Dan.

Speaker 6 (09:27):
Butyer ageah mid, It's a low thirties creeping into the
upper twenties, no precipitation expected.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
So it's a really just good playoff weather in January,
typical chilli, crisp, cold football weather where you're long John's
you know, Danny G. Let's go with you a start off?
Do we like? It's Buffalo at Kansas City? As we
all know, Chiefs by two, Chiefs by two.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
No, I was seeing that at one and a half
earlier and we.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
Got over under forty eight and a half. Pretty similar.
Just one more point, all.

Speaker 5 (09:56):
Right, I'm gonna go under on the points, okay, and
because I like the Chiefs defense, but I'm gonna say
the Bills and Mahomes run here.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
No threepeat for you, mister, Yeah, Danny G. Again, I'm
just I'm sitting back. I'm just moderating this because you
just said what I'm thinking. I'm going Bills. I like
Bills money line. I think Bills just win this game.
And the Chiefs have a great defense, and as you
saw last week, it's not like Kansas City just slaying
it offensively. They're finding ways to win. But Kansas City
doesn't put up thirty or forty anymore. It's not like

(10:29):
Mahomes fifty touchdown season. So I sort of like the
Bills in the under here we got five to oh
on it. Now, since we got five oh on it, yeah,
I'll never bet against Mahomes. Yeah, so I'm going with
Chiefs on this one. Look, they found a way to
just beat everybody, right, just beat there. Why would they
not just beat Buffalo in this situation, It's all about winning.

(10:51):
It's not about yeah at home, it's not about how
bad they beat them. I think they're going to find
a way to still beat them. They're still the Chiefs.
But I'm going the under on this one, Okay, Dan Bayer.

Speaker 6 (11:01):
I feel like I'm taking the easy way out by
saying what I'm about to say. I like, we all
make our preseason predictions, and I'm sure we all have dogs.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
In the fight.

Speaker 6 (11:10):
I have the Bills still in the fight for my
AFC representative, So I am going with the Bills to
at least cover in this game. But the extreme love
for Buffalo everywhere has got me concerned if I'm cheering
for the Bills of that game, considering they needed three
turnovers and a drop by Mark Andrews to even get

(11:30):
past the Ravens at home. So just worried about that.
And I like the under, like you guys as well?

Speaker 1 (11:37):
I don't. I think. I think so far we're all
very much in agreement. Spotty, let's go to you. I'll
be in disagreement again. I like the I want to
I want you know what, it's a want. Yeah, I
want the Bills to win. I do, but I'm going
to take the over. I think it's going to be
a Chiefs in the over, But Bills. Do you want
Bills in the over? Yeah? You still?

Speaker 7 (11:59):
I want the Bills to the Bill will win. Oh,
you're willing them to win. I'm willing them to win,
and I'm taking the over.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
You're killing them to win? Gerald, What do you think,
my friend?

Speaker 4 (12:08):
I'm not betting the guests my homes. I'm sorry. Yeah,
I think it's going to be a gun fest. And
so I'm taking the over.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Nice. Nice, And I was saying, but you left here
what I am?

Speaker 3 (12:22):
I picked the Bills to be in the Super Bowl,
So I'm gonna stick with that Bills win outright, and
I'm taking it. So I'm with Spott here, I'm taking
the over and the Bills to win.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
There you go, all right, there you have it, Rich,
I got five.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
A nice Sunday coming up.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
Yeah, oh my god, I'm just thinking about Josh Allen's
path here, wake. What an awesome path if you were
to continue on here. You know what it reminds me of.
It reminds me of when Tom Brady won in Tampa.
Along the way he beat Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, and
Patrick Mahon. So you know, if Josh Allen were to
beat Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes and then go to the

(12:58):
Super Bowl and beat Jalen Hurts and Saquon, that would
be insane, you know, and Bonicks don't forget. That's really impressive.

Speaker 5 (13:07):
It feels like a special season for Josh Allen. And
by the way, really quick, thank you. Gerald in West Kentucky. Heybody,
hang on the line that we're going to ship off
a swiggy to you. I got something for Rich.

Speaker 6 (13:18):
Jason who weather Man in Montana listening to the network.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
I was listening to the show.

Speaker 6 (13:25):
Tweets in this that if it's the if it's the
Bills Eagles, that means that the Bills will have faced
the entire NFC East in a Super Bowl, becoming the
first team to actually face all teams in a division.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
Wow, yes, I.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
Thought, I know you and I love Super Bowl history, Dan.
I was thinking that if the Chiefs somehow find a
way and they beat the Eagles. The Chiefs Wolf had
four Super Bowls, beating the Niners twice and the Eagles twice.
So there's two fan bases that hate the Chiefs Niners, like, really,
come on?

Speaker 4 (14:01):
Four?

Speaker 1 (14:01):
And oh? So that is interesting because right, the Bills
will have faced the Giants the Norwood year against the
Redskins back in the day, and.

Speaker 6 (14:10):
Your forty nine Ers would need one team to close
out the AFC West. That it would be Danny's Raiders.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
That is true. They beat the Chargers forty nine to
twenty six, the Broncos fifty five to ten, and they
lost twice to the Chiefs. So we shall see. Thank
you guys for all playing along. I got tive on it,
you know. Let us know at Covin on Rich it
simply becomes a four layer parlay, a four leg parlay,
two point spreads, two over unders. The consensus in the

(14:41):
studio for the most part is Commanders with the points
and the over, Bills with the points and the under.
But I think we're big dreaming, I really do. I
think because we have such a soft spot for Josh
Allen Covino's thinking with his brain. Betting against Mahomes is ridiculous.
My dad, who you know? Him and I like to
gamble together. Yeah, and there seems to be a team.

(15:03):
It seems to be a year where they play to
their competition. Yeah, it's all be wrong. The Bills are
gonna I don't care if I'm force the Chiefs to
step up and they're gonna step up and pull it out.

Speaker 8 (15:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
My dad, like I said, who I gamble with quite
a bit over the years, he would always say, if
I bet on Tom Brady and lose, I won't be mad.
But if I bet against Tom Brady. This is in
the twenty tens. My Dad's like, if you bet against
Tom Brady and you lose, you're just a fool, right,
you know, Like it's you bet against Tom It's like
that's my Homes then, like you almost deserve it. It's

(15:37):
like when you bet on a real trash team to
cover a lot of points and then they lose by twenty,
You're like, well, what was I doing betting on you know,
a two and fourteen team or something?

Speaker 7 (15:47):
So can I I was just looking at TMZ. This
is it's very sad news, but it could sway.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
The game one way or the other emotion wise. Emotionwise,
I saw this sad, sad stuff.

Speaker 7 (15:58):
Patrick Mahomes's grandfather isn't hospice, so that means he has
probably days left to live. So that's that could be
something that either gets behind him, do you know, do
it for grandpa?

Speaker 1 (16:07):
Or that could distract him for Johnny Ruleman. We talked
about that Johnny, so do it for Johnny or you're right,
the emotions could take over and you know what, he
just became a dad. There's a lot you know, Mahomes
has a lot of uh probably emotional highs and lows
in his personal life. So we shall see. He's focused,
you know, we'll see.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
Do you guys miss that the Lions aren't still playing?

Speaker 1 (16:30):
Yes? Yeah, there's a part of me that thought, like,
especially since I had them going the distance. I mean, yeah, listen,
Washington's a cool story. You know what is I feel
like I'll give you a boxing analogy when Canelo Alvarez
fought Floyd Mayweather. He fought him too young, and you
knew that Mayweather was just gonna win. That's how I
feel about I want, you know the Commanders. I feel like, y'all,
Jaden Daniels, what a story. But they're not there yet,

(16:53):
so I can't really take them serious against one of
these teams like the Lions or the Eagles would have
made a formidable NFC representative.

Speaker 6 (17:01):
I also have a theory that guys like you and
Rich You are a little bit younger than me and Cavino,
but I think we're all in the ballpark. And throw
Danny Spot in there as well. We remember when Washington
was good, yea. We remember when they were winning Super
Bowls and they were a competitor in the NFC and
they were a contender.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
Dus Williams, Yes, Mark Rich, even Jee Thighs.

Speaker 1 (17:24):
Yeah, just all like so growing up.

Speaker 6 (17:26):
So Washington going back to a Super Bowl, while it's
been a long time for their fans isn't foreign to us.
The Lions were foreign because they've never been that good.
They haven't been in contention, and so I think that's
a part that's missing. Like I get their fan base.
They're sitting there saying thirty years, you know, between super Bowls,
Like there's a reason that there's a drought. But as
a fan in the age that we are, we do

(17:48):
remember a time when Washington was successful.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
And you know, as a Niners fan to piggyback that,
or a Cowboys fan for that matter, some of these
teams that have such a legacy in our childhood. If
you were a kid of the eighties or nineties, you know, Cowboys, Redskins, Giants.
There were the handful of teams that just dominated. Yeah,
and when you really think about it, the last time
the Redskins, now Commanders, Niners, and Cowboys all one early

(18:12):
to mid nineties, those teams have all been on a
major draft. But in our mind, ah, the dynasties.

Speaker 6 (18:19):
The opposite For me and maybe not for Covino because
it's a fan of his team, but it involves his team.
Was it was unique for me to see the Yankees
in the World Series in the mid nineties. Oh yeah,
you know, because all I knew of them. I wasn't
old enough to remember early eighties, but then there was
no Yankees for you.

Speaker 1 (18:37):
Know, went from what eighty one to ninety six?

Speaker 6 (18:39):
Yeah, yeah, so I had no idea. So that whole
span fit perfectly into my life. So when they go
to the World Series, it's like, holy smokes, the Yankees
are in the World Series. Where people were probably like, ah,
darna the Yankees.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Yeah right, the perception of years I know, I sound
like I'm a guys. I have not had an edible
I promise no. It's like a high thought. But like
time bro right time. No. But when you think of
the Yankees this past year making the World Series, in
your mind, it felt like, oh the Yankees again again

(19:11):
was nine? Fifteen again was nine. So that's the difference
of when they played the Dodgers in the early eighties
and the Braves in ninety six. Sure, so the gap
between nineteen eighties eighty one Yankees Dodgers to the ninety
six Joe Tory Jeter Yankees is the same difference of
the nine A Rod Jeter till now.

Speaker 6 (19:32):
But they weren't even really making the They weren't making
the playoffs in the eighties a different format.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
Different format, but didn't mean it in ninety five. What
mattingly you remember? But yeah, man, I feel.

Speaker 5 (19:41):
You, and really quick Kovino back to Rich's growing up
about Jaden Daniels being too young. We heard a lot
about that last weekend. His rookie, his great rookie run
is going to end here. But he plays with such
calm composure. He's so poised. He does not look like
a rookie yet, and.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
He's having fun out. Yeah, and he doesn't make barely
any mistakes. Yeah, I can't wait to see it. I
can't wait to see it. I think I get what
Dan saying, and I understand where he's coming from completely.
But yeah, if he plays the way he played last
week NFL history, that'd be crazy. If if it ends up,
which likely the odds in Vegas would be, this is

(20:18):
the fourth likeliest outcome. You're two underdogs, Bills Commanders. You're
looking at a rookie quarterback winning the super Bowl or
a dynasty that lost four in a row in the
super Bowl and it's never won. There's there's a happy outcome,
regardless if it's Eagles Bills, Eagles won with Nick Foles

(20:39):
like what years ago, great as it would to see
a rookie win the Super Bowl. I would still be
rooting for the Bills there, you know, to win one,
I think after everything we've seen in the nineties. So
all right, your thoughts, And as we said on over
Promise yesterday, did you guys see the story that Thurman, Thomas,
Jim Kelly and all the old school Bills said that
they would jump through tables with the Bills mafia if

(21:02):
the Bills win one thing I didn't say on over Promise,
and you could watch it on Fox Sports Radios YouTube page,
Episode seventy seven are bonus pod. You listen, you could watch.
I really hope they wouldn't. They would break a hip
and it would be horrible to watch Devin Thomas brooks hip.
I would not want to see any of those dudes
jumping into folding tables if they won, because he said

(21:25):
they jump in four times if they won. Didn't he
say that, No, I'd hate to see that. Well, Hey,
we got more CNR, more Cavino and Rich Next, we'll

(23:13):
LTE coverage, one touch communication, peace of mind for connecting
with family in an emergency. Now pay attention to Fox
Sports Radio Nation. We had Clay Matthews on our Bonus
Bonus pod. We interviewed him today. Clay Matthews, former Green
Bay Packer. He was a RAM for one year and

(23:34):
he's a stunt personable guy, nice guy. We got along
real well with him. We want you to watch the interview.
It's gonna be on Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page and
a half hour never seen before. So you got two
over promised episodes this week, episode seventy seven. Yesterday we
talked about each uro, the Hall of Fame, We talked
about Super Bowl traditions, football traditions and more. Today Clay

(23:56):
Matthews something else. We talked to Clay about which I
think we sometimes neglect to remember when these young players
are drafted. Danny J. You know where Clay Matthews is from.
I'm just putting you on the spot. Do you know?

Speaker 2 (24:08):
No, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
He's from Gore Hills right over here.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
Oh that's he went my neighborhood.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
He went to USC. So this is a southern California kid.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
Yeah, I knew USC. I didn't know where he came from, though.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
How do you adjust to them being drafted by Green Bay?
So his whole experience back then, Yeah, I'll give you
a little hint. It's almost very It's almost Vince Lombardi
like where he's like, where's Green Bay? There's almost the
same story. Yeah. Yeah. I also asked him about as
a former football player, how he'd handle this whole Patrick

(24:38):
Mahomes situation, like what do you want to pop them?
And if you want to hear a little something a
little bit of what you're gonna see later on on
Fox Sports Radios YouTube page. Take a listen. As a
fan and former player, when you're watching with your family,
do you say to your bros? Your buddy, man, I
would totally have popped Mahomes if he tried that on me, Like, yeah,
what's your mindset with that?

Speaker 8 (24:59):
It is difficult at time to watch the referees throw
flags on these hits that are clear as day, not
roughing the passer fouls. You know, if we're looking for
a solution, I think there needs to be an emphasis
on intent, you know, intent and you look at it.
I want to say it was that Anderson hit on
Mahomes and you know they said he hit him up high,

(25:20):
clearly hit him in the shoulder patterned chest. Is that
a close one perhaps? But then the next one where
he darts back inside Mahomes that is, and the two
people go over top of him immediately they throw a flag.
What you got to the intent of Mahomes running the
ball is to draw a flag too, And you saw
that on another one where he went on the sideline,
he kind of slowed down and flopped out of bounds.
I just it ruins the game a little bit. And

(25:42):
if they are going to do that, they just need
to be runners. They need they designate themselves as runner.
They need to take those hits, and if they don't
want those hits, they stay in the pocket.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
Throw the ball Away.

Speaker 1 (25:52):
Full interview, lots of fun. It'll be posted right after
the show. Yeah, we talked about Aaron Rodgers. We talk
about life as a dad, life after football. We talk
about Mark Andrews and how he had the worst game
ever and how players feel when things like that happen,
and should they be expected to talk to the press, because,
as you know, Andrews didn't, but he addressed it on

(26:12):
social media and he said he was just too gutted
and he apologized and all that. I mean, let me
ask you, in a world we live in now, where
you know, ten twenty even obviously longer than that. Years ago,
there was no social media. There was no real way
for a player or celebrity or a notable person to
put their thoughts out there, right. I mean, that's why

(26:36):
they had publicists. I mean the publicists still exist, but
a lot of people, a lot of players, don't need
them because they could express themselves on their own platforms,
on their own social media. Yeah. No, I mean actors, actresses,
athletes and listen. Even politicians Donald Trump, Barack Obama. There
have been presidents that you'd social media to get a
message out there. Whelegitimate statements are made Yeah. So with

(26:58):
that said, let me ask you, do you think it's
the responsibility of a player to comment on I guess
you would say, like a game gone wrong or a
play gone wrong, or like does Mark Andrews owe it
to the fans of the people? Like that was a
very nice statement that he's gutted and you know that
he's a great player. The guy is one of the

(27:18):
better tight ends in the league. But do you think
he in today's social media world is a statement expected?
Uh no, not from your tight end who's done everything
he could again, Hall of Fame career. You know how
he felt in that moment. You know he felt terrible.
And I think when you're not going to bring your best,

(27:40):
like I subscribe to like, I won't even go out
if I don't feel my best, Like if I feel
like I'm not going to bring good company, I'm like,
I'm going to stay home. That's just how I am.
I want to bring my best at all times. And
he didn't want to present something that could be used
against him in the future. He may have said something
that you know, wouldn't have sounded right in the moment.
He was really down on himself in a moment and

(28:00):
probably wanted to just clear his thoughts. I think there
are people that you do expect to hear from, and
you could say, well, that's not fair to them, But
they're also the quarterback and the coach for a reason.
You know you're gonna hear from Lamar Jackson, You're gonna
hear from Harball, You're gonna hear from the other leaders
of the team, and I think falls on their responsibility
a little more than the tight end. What do you

(28:21):
think do you.

Speaker 6 (28:22):
Guys ever have that friend that just doesn't do anything
or flakes out on stuff.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
You have to cover up for him or her all
the time.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
Yeah, it's not fair. I get it.

Speaker 6 (28:33):
Yeah, yeah, Mark Andrews is the leader of the team.
You shouldn't have to He's can answer the questions for himself.
Shouldn't fall on everybody else.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
But they're gonna have to answer those questions anyway. Even
if Mark Andrews, let's say Andrews did answer those questions, right,
Lamar Jackson's still going to be asked about it.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
Lamar Jackson will.

Speaker 6 (28:51):
But I think that there's you're looking for someone because
Mark Andrews isn't speaking, so now you're asking a bunch
of other players who don't have any say on the matter.
If Mark Andrews was in his locker room taking questions
after the game, that's where all the reporters are going
to be because they're hearing from Mark Andrews.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
In that scenario.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
You know what, I don't mind though, in that scenario,
I don't mind that he uh, he did the equivalent
of let me write the email, save it in my drafts,
and I'll send it tomorrow. Because, like Cavino said a
lot of times, Joe Rogan says, I don't want to
talk to a fighter right after he got his bell wrung.
He's not right. And I get it. They're pros. They
get paid their you know, celebrities to a lot of

(29:33):
young boys and girls everywhere, they're heroes. But I, you know,
when you just make the you know, arguably the worst
gutting play, and he says, I wanted to collect his thoughts.
He said the shock and disappointment were unlike anything he's
ever felt before. Yeah, I'll give him that grace, man,
I'll give him the grace to say I'll put out
a statement for the fans, you know, later or tomorrow.

(29:55):
I get it. We live in a now world. But again,
I know he didn't get knocked out, but it is
It's also not the standard for this guy, right, Like,
this is an exception here. That's why I'm understanding of it.
I don't think it should be the norm, dB, but
it's a one time thing from a guy who's always
proven to be a good leader. I think you give
people with a solid past the exception in the past

(30:18):
every once in a while. I don't think it's like
who he is, it's just the moment that he had. Yeah,
we all have a rough moment, like I said, a
lot of times. A lot of times people send that email.
Like I've made the analogy that it's like, oh, if
you sit on it for a couple hours, think about it.

Speaker 6 (30:32):
I don't think it's the end of the world. Yeah,
you know the sort of scenario either. But I just
think he probably should have spoken.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
Well. Find out what Clay Matthews thinks about it on
Over Promised Again. Right after this show on Fox Sports
Radio's YouTube page, we asked me about what a good promoter.
Let's go to Dan Buyer for an update DV.

Speaker 6 (30:48):
What's going on, man, Carol's going to be the next
head coach of the Raiders, getting a three year deal
with an option for a fourth. When he coaches a
game this fall, he'll be seventy four years old. That's
in mid September, so maybe not the first game or two,
but after that he'd be the oldest person to ever
be a head coach in an NFL game once he
coaches this fall for the Raiders. Jaguars officially announced the

(31:10):
hiring of Liam Cohen as their head coach. Well, there's
some assistant news. Hank Frayley was sought after by a
variety of teams, but the Lions offensive line coach is
going to stay in Detroit. Gets a bit of a
promotion as he's also been named their run game coordinator.
Texans an offensive coordinator Bobby Sloweck parted ways after two seasons.
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurt says he'll probably wear a knee

(31:30):
brace for Sunday's NFC Championship game against the Commanders. Patriots
safety JABERL Pepper is acquitted by a jury in his
trial for assaultant battery involving an on again, off again
female partner in Massachusetts. Ohio State running back Quinn Shawn
Judkins will enter the twenty twenty five NFL Draft. Well
On three dot Com reports at Ohio state Wide receiver
Jeremiah Smith has an offer of four and a half

(31:52):
million dollars to enter the transfer portal, and his teammate
at Ohio State Wide receiver Carnel Tate has an offer
of one million dollars to leave the Buck Guys. Las
Vegas will host the College Football Playoff National Championship Game
for the twenty twenty six season. That game will take
place on Monday, January twenty fifth. Of twenty twenty seven.
Warriors scard Steph Curry the most popular jersey selling or

(32:14):
sold jersey for the first half of the NBA season,
according to nbastore dot com, And seven and a half
minutes to go. In women's basketball, number two South Carolina
up on number five LSU fifty two to forty one.
This game was supposed to be played yesterday, but they
postponed it until today a few days ago because of
the storm that hit the South LSU came in twenty

(32:35):
and oh and five and oh in the SEC, while
South Carolina's eighteen and one and six and ozer on
conference play game Cocks with the eleven point lead in
the fourth quarter.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
Guys back to you.

Speaker 1 (32:43):
Yeh, thanks d B and Key grats again, Danny GT
Raiders and Pete Carroll. Oh yeah, I just saw two
contradicting Pete Alonso headlines. So I'm sorry. I'm a Mets fan,
you know, blame blame me if every time I bring
up Pete. But I saw two contradicting articles. One said
Mets have told other players to start essentially preparing to

(33:03):
take reps at first base, like Mark Ventos, who's a
third baseman. They're saying, be prepared in spring training to
take reps at first which means, well, the Mets announced
that they were moving on yeah, in the peat a
Lotzo deal. Dan Byer would back me up in saying
that the Sporting News is a pretty reputable source. Sporting News.
I mean that's not like, you know, you know, Doug's blog.

(33:24):
It's a you know, a legit source. And they're saying, dog,
who ah, Doug, what did got leave do to you?
I like Doug Mets predicted. This is as of an
hour ago. There's a new report say Mets predicted to
get back into the pet Alonzo sweepstakes, which seems like
it doesn't have many bitterers, maybe offering six years, one forty,

(33:47):
which would be a little more than twenty a year.
So I don't know, man, your thoughts on polar Bear
Pete will do that. And of course weekend hobnobbin. What

Speaker 5 (36:54):
Dude, I even surprised me. I tuned in in the
fourth quarter and I was like, say what now, what's book.

Speaker 1 (37:01):
In some Celtic as like it's U you know, like
the Kobe and Check Days.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
That was definitely the Lakers best win of the season.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
No doubt. I want to get into it weekend, hob
nobin what to watch in the world of sports and
entertainment for the weekend.

Speaker 9 (37:15):
You're winning bets for talking points if you get stuck socializing,
You ever done anything dangerous?

Speaker 2 (37:20):
You ever dance with the devil?

Speaker 1 (37:21):
In the panel line? Friday brings us weekend?

Speaker 9 (37:26):
Hob No.

Speaker 1 (37:27):
Now we men, we men have things we watch by ourselves.
Sometimes well you know, sometimes you watch shows with your WiFi,
and then there's other shows. She's like, can we watch
something else. One of those shows I recommend is called
I Am a Killer. And yeah, there's a lot of
women into True Prime and killing and things like that.
Some are not, but if you want to watch it.

(37:49):
Season six just came out, and there's one episode that
people are really fired up about. I think it was
episode three of season six, but the whole season so
far pretty good. I Am a Killer. They're real stories
about people in prison for life for murder. That's on Netflix.
It's a good show, sad story, good show. You know

(38:10):
what else is on Netflix? We mentioned it before. I
know everyone's talking about the games this weekend, but what's
the game. No, it's not the Chiefs and the Bills.
It's Gerald's Game. No, I'm a serious. I watched two
exciting matchups. When you can watch an eight year old movie.
This came out in twenty seventeen, but I saw an
article that people can't finish this movie because it's so disturbing,

(38:33):
and it's a Stephen King movie. So I watched it
just I don't know, to kill time. I couldn't believe
how disturbing it was. It had my attention for the
entire movie. I thought the end was whack. But if
they hold your attention in today's world a short attention span,
you got to give a credit for that. It stars
Carla Gugino. By the way, it looks fantastic in this movie.

(38:54):
Yeah it does. I didn't realize how hot this woman was,
and Bruce Greenwood, who's like a ripped seventy five year
old guy. So Sheerald's Game a really decent thriller. And
then I got a seamlessly promote rich on what to
watch this Weekend. Over promised seventy seven. They viewed yesterday
on Fox Sports Radios YouTube page. That's our bonus podcast.
You could watch it, you could listen. We talked about

(39:16):
each row, and we talked about Super Bowl and football traditions.
And episode seventy eight premieres in eight minutes our interview
with Clay Matthews. So definitely check that out. Over promised
our bonus pot. All right, a couple things on Netflix.
I've watched these, Danny g you brought it up a
couple weeks ago. If you've yet to watch the Jerry
Springer documentary two parts, an easy watch, and it makes

(39:38):
you realize what was behind that show when we were,
you know, maybe in a high school or college. Wags
to Riches not my steeves, but I feel like there's
a lot of people that love all those players, wives
and stuff. There's a new season that's on Netflix now,
A show, a movie. I'm sorry Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz,
the return of Cameron Diaz spot you were gonna mention

(39:58):
this last week. I was back in hack Back in action.
Looks great, looks fun. There are a couple that their
kids don't know that they're formally spy. It's like, you know,
an equation you've seen before, but I think miss Smith, yeah,
sort of. And a baseball You've got to Believe with
Luke Wilson is on Netflix and Danny, you were so
right about the latest season of Shrinking on Apple TV

(40:21):
and you hit me up. You're on Silo now.

Speaker 2 (40:23):
Yeah, so we finished Shrinking and then went to Silo.

Speaker 1 (40:27):
Silo's good.

Speaker 5 (40:27):
Huh, we're two episodes in. It's worth the wait for me.

Speaker 1 (40:32):
What else you're watching, Danny?

Speaker 5 (40:34):
Uh, I noticed there's something on Prime actually on Prime
Video that we might want to check out. It's called
Blink Twice Zoe Kravitz. It's her directorial debut. It's a
film about a group of people invited to the private
island of tech billionaire Slater King Shanning Tatum and it's
got a great cast. This This critic care says, don't

(40:55):
watch the trailer if you do want to see this,
because they they spoil.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
Things, wasn't Zoe? He engaged to Channing Tatum at one point,
so they're still working together.

Speaker 2 (41:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (41:05):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (41:05):
We speaking of shows that are on the comeback now,
it's about also Severn season two.

Speaker 7 (41:10):
And two is out. If you're heading to the theaters.
Check out Mark Wahlberg in Flight Risk. He plays the
bald guy. He's the bald guy. That's pretty to check
that outright? Perfect to have a great.

Speaker 1 (41:22):
Weekend, enjoy your football until Monday. Are ribon there You
may see you in the over Promised Land. Let's go.
Today's Friday.
