Speaker 4 (00:19):
Oh yeah, I'm so at home.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
I'm just lamping and lineming here in the studio doing
the pinching roll. Go do that on camera, Not on camera,
just under the console. Hey, Covino and Rich is Fox
Sports Radio. Welcome to our house CNR on FSR. Welcome
to Stevie's Playhouse.
Speaker 4 (00:37):
Whose house?
Speaker 2 (00:39):
I We got Danny g on the phones at eighty
seven to seven ninety nine on Fox Iowa, Sam doing
his thing, pressing buttons. The sound architect of the show.
He's a sound specialist. We got Spot on the videos
getting ready for midweek Major dB, the consummate professional with
your updates. Mike's hanging out and we be rocking out.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Now we're gonna get to Mike's I know you are,
But what am I in a few seconds but a nerd?
I did want to take a few phone calls and
read some of the feedback we're talking about, is there
a storyline that excites you even a little bit? And
you know what, our buddy Mike and Kentucky hit us
up and he said, you know what, at this point,
(01:21):
we've had such a great NFL season that the super
Bowl itself really is about eating friends. You got Green Day,
you got Bad Bunny, you got you know commercial. Still
it's just a hang. So Yeah, I'm really excited about
Spot's buffalo dip.
Speaker 4 (01:36):
Noh, Spot, you're making the buffalo dip.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
Forget about the game.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
No, Spot makes a good strum bowling strum Bolie. We're
not talking the guy in Pinocchio. We're talking about Spots strong. Yeah,
but your thoughts is there a on my revenge for Seattle?
Speaker 4 (01:54):
I said it, you just want to listening?
Speaker 1 (01:56):
No, but I feel like you're not vibing it.
Speaker 4 (01:57):
No, that's.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
A little revenge for the Patriots. I think that's a
great story.
Speaker 4 (02:02):
Though.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Again, the only matchup that hasn't occurred in Super Bowl
history is Broncos Ram Broncos Rams. I said it, but
you weren't listening. Let's go to Arizona and say h
to Chris Chris has his choice for the Super Bowl matchup.
What's up, buddy, Hey.
Speaker 5 (02:18):
Thanks for having me guys, no problem. I wanted to
reiterate what you're talking about about fan base is about
the Patriots. It is kind of said. The thinking go
back to like Atlanta. The Falcons blew that twenty eight
to three lead and they haven't even snipped the Super
Bowl and the Patriots have won another one. I've gone
to two more and are about to go to another one.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
You know, it's wild. You know, another one Arizona. Thanks
for the call, Chris. Another one we talk about all
the time with Joe Burrow, with certain players that Matt
Ryan for the Falcons. You get there, you almost have
to win because the chance of you going back. Everyone
always loves to say, well, dude, you'll be back. There's
(02:58):
always next year. It's like a one night stand. Do
you ever have a really good one night stand and
you never hang out with her again? Yeah, you're like, oh,
well maybe we could do this again, and just plans
never line up.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
And I mean I've heard about it.
Speaker 6 (03:12):
I'm right.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
I mean they always call me back. I don't know
about you. Yeah, maybe that is the problem.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
Pete in Vegas. What's up, buddy?
Speaker 1 (03:18):
What up?
Speaker 4 (03:19):
Pete?
Speaker 7 (03:19):
What's going on? Fellas came in?
Speaker 3 (03:22):
So two things.
Speaker 7 (03:24):
How come nobody is talking about the Robert Sola thing.
It's just like I would be if I was on
the radio as much as the local guys, I'd be happy.
He already proved, you know. I mean, he's just he's
not worthy of a head coaching job if you ask me.
In fact, I don't think he did that greater job
with our boys this year. You'll pobbly agree with me
on that.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
I'm a big Niners guy. I love Robert Sell.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
I feel like you know, I don't think them being
blown at the end helped cases. I mean, listen, dude,
I think the team numbers wise when you ranked the
run defense past defense, they really just kept people out
of the end zone. I watched a team enough to
know that yardage and give it up place. The Niners
defense was not great, but they kept people.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
Out of the end zone. They minimized the damage.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Robert Sell also coached a season without Nick Bosa, Fred
Warner and three other key defenders.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
You know, Mikel Williams liked they had no one, so
i'd Sally is a good dude.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
I wish he's stuck around now. The Niners need to
do decoordinator. I don't know, is that appealing to you?
Going to Tennessee.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
That doesn't seem like a team that that's not an
appealing spot for me. What's up, dB?
Speaker 8 (04:35):
I don't think that. Because they're the Titans. People realize
how dysfunctional that place has been over the last five
years since they let go of Rabel. So now you're
so it may be less dysfunctional than the Jets, which
is not hard to do, but I'm not sure how
functional it is. There are new people in place and
new general manager, but it's been a bit of a
(04:56):
mess over the last ever since they got rid of Rabel,
and even during the end of his tenure there, it
was a bit.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
Of a You've seen I'm sure dB more than all
of us because you're on the lookout all day. The
Harbaw Giants thing seems like a really good marriage so far.
The fans are embracing the players were there before his
opening presser, giving him bro hugs like it seems like
Harbaugh's ready for the challenge.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
I grew up knowing them as the New York Football Giants,
Like everything seems right. Do you think if he had
waited a little longer and knew that McDermott was out,
do you believe that he would have sniffed out that
Buffalo job or.
Speaker 8 (05:29):
Now I'm I'm sure, And I think that Kevin Stefanski
the same thing of him. Maybe going to Buffalo could
have been an option. But my opinion about the Harball
deal with the Giants is it's just such an easy hire.
There's no like, if you're Joe Shane, like, yeah, we're
gonna hire him. Was it the right hire? I have
no idea. We think it's gonna work, but it just
(05:50):
was a very very easy hire. And sometimes those don't
work out as well as you would have hoped, but
we'll see.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Kevin stefanskas saw a big Cat, asked him a really
hard hitting question if he dyed his beard gray because
he's such a young guy, but he's got that gray beard,
and he's like, I was like, I thought, you know me,
I think that's a great question.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
You might nothing, but I was like.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Why would someone die their beard? Great wisdom? Yes, what
do you think about?
Speaker 6 (06:16):
Why?
Speaker 4 (06:18):
What do you think? Dion?
Speaker 2 (06:19):
And and you know, we talked about Lebron and some
of these NBA guys that are young men, and you know,
black dudes could die.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
They were black and they looked twenty years younger.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Speaking to Stefanski, Baker Mayfield called him out. I thought
that was pretty cool. That's another great storyline that they
have to face each justice. I'm ready to see you
twice a year, coach. Let's go. You remember me, the
guy you let go, the guy you threw away like
doodoo diapers something like that. He goes, let's go, can't
wait to see you again. So Mayfield calling him out
as the new Falcons coach. Well, speaking of wisdom and
(06:49):
doodoo diapers. Kidding Mike, what's up, buddy?
Speaker 4 (06:54):
Thanks Rich? Yeah, very nice. I love that introduction. Man, Mike,
Mike's love.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
Mike's a guy that welcomed us more than anyone when
we started here years ago now and we've been best
pals ever since. Big Mic, who runs his place, has
words of wisdom.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Hello, everybody, Welcome Mike, everybody.
Speaker 4 (07:12):
I a super Bowl matchup. You want to see her?
Speaker 6 (07:15):
What?
Speaker 4 (07:15):
As long as the rams are not in it, I'm good, okay,
Yeah that's yeah. My rams need to uh.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Go away, and I may tell Pooky you said that.
I want to make this very very clear though. Today
we're playing for mini balls we got and we're double
l I guess it's Mike Skim.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
Like, come on, you looks up with that. That's a
soft ball. I should have let that one go.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
They're the same.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
They're really cool though they're cn R n fs are
many turbo footballs, and we're throwing in koozies. So it's
a little bit of a make your hands big. Yeah, yeah,
I got a little hamburger hands.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
So look at this. I could fully grip this week.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
You know, that's how an NFL, that's how an NFL
quarterback feels with the real football.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
But I want to make it clear.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
Today we're playing for mini balls and some koozies, and
you get to see Mike if you play along now
on YouTube Covino and rich FSR on YouTube, it's like
seeing Doctor Claw from Inspector Gadget for the first time.
You're like, that's Mike, that is that's Mike right here.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
I'm right here, ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
And for the record, they did show Doctor Claw on
Inspector Gadget.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
Finally they did.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
It's time for something we do every Wednesday, Mike's Where's
a wisdom?
Speaker 3 (08:22):
It's time for the guy that runs this place.
Speaker 8 (08:25):
Just for clarification, guys, Big Mike does not run this place.
He is not in charge of everything. He has no
power over really anybody here. He does not run this place.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
It's Big Mike's words of wisdom on a Wednesday.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
It's great to be here, gentlemen. And this is many
of you know. We launched a new show here at
Fox Sports Radio this week. Stug gotts place. I know
he does not, but he will find out.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
No, let's make sure Stu Gott's and company know who
runs this place.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
That's right, And this is in honor of the new show.
Oh okay, every great beginning starts with confusion and someone
pretending they know what's going on. I like that.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
No, it reminds me of Mike. Like becoming a parent
for the first time, and how your parents were just
learning as they went.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
To that's something you realized. I'm sure you.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
Realize that it's their first time through all this too.
What did they know?
Speaker 2 (09:24):
The dam buyer, Mike, all of us all of a sudden,
Dad's do you remember thinking that thought like, oh my god,
my parents were just sort of like figuring.
Speaker 4 (09:32):
Out idea, sort of winging it like I was.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
I was older and had more money than my parents
had when they had me, So I'm like they they
were really just winging it.
Speaker 9 (09:41):
I understand now, I understand why my mom accidentally dropped
me on the tile floor.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
She said it was an accident.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
She sent it all right. So you know what, if
you could repeat Mike's words of wisdom word for word,
let me give it to you one more time, one
more time. Every great beginning starts with conf fusion and
someone pretending they know what's going on.
Speaker 6 (10:06):
That's a good one.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
I like it because you're right some people I often
wonder too in life are these people just playing pretend?
Especially when I go like big meetings, Like what is
this idiot now? He's just pretending to be important act
as if you know.
Speaker 4 (10:20):
It reminds me.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
Of my favorite Barack Obama quote where he's like, you know,
when he became president sort of out of nowhere. I mean,
he was a local guy who became President's like all
these world leaders and CEOs and billionaires.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
He goes, they all all they are They're not all that.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
Yeah, right, a bunch of people pretending to be adults.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
I think about that. All right, Thank you big Mike,
Thank you are welcome. John.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
If you could repeat that word for word, Mike's Wednesday
words of wisdom, we figure we passed on that wisdom
to you, a guy with a real gray beard in wisdom.
Mike call us now at eight seven, seven ninety nine
on Fox for your chance to win again a seen
our mini Turbo football and we'll throw in some koozies
to a CNR prize pack. Well, let's turn the page
(11:01):
while we get a winner like Metallica or Bob Seegerica.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
All right, let's do it.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
Metallica version is better. Let me play that next.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Let's get ready for spots midweekly load some holloway East. Yeah,
I'm sorry, continue man, you and I were Sam, what
a ride on the road again?
Speaker 1 (11:25):
They riot.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
The stage, they rack.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Sorry, go ahead continue.
Speaker 6 (11:32):
I had to turn my headphones down.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
He said, like Metallica's I was doing my best.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
Just can't help it.
Speaker 10 (11:37):
Man.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Do we need to do a Cavino on Rich Fox
Sports Radio Karaoke Night, Yeah, where we invite listeners to
watch you and Sam do at the rock that is
a fantastic idea.
Speaker 4 (11:47):
But don't tell don't don't tell me I have we
want to go up there now. Yeah, when you tell me.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
I don't want to do it, turn the page.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
We are going to turn the page to Spot's midweek
major and a little bit so old, back to NFL
and all the stories in the world of pop culture.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
Spot.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
I do want you to include the Beckham story in
your midweek major because I'm so fascinating, fascinated by David.
Speaker 11 (12:09):
Well, thanks for letting me know. Now, I feel like
I need an hour to research it. Dude, There's so
much to it. It's complex.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
I'm got you do it, you know what, Maybe I will,
But right now I want to talk about I want
to talk about dude, ungrateful Lebron. This is a story
out of TMZ that I thought you guys would get
a kick out of. Genie Buss and this this sort
of tracks because it makes sense. Maybe you I'll ask
former Fox Sports radio host Jay Moore what he thinks.
(12:36):
Genie Buss felt that Lebron James was ungrateful after the
Lakers drafted bronni In this whole message, it goes on
to say that when they went ahead and drafted Lebron
James his son, Bronnie. Geenie thought that'd be more of
a like thank you, more of like a we.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
Went out of our way like Lebron just so of
was like, yeah, go cool.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
I could see that, because Okay, when you're Lebron, you
I'm not even saying it's a personality flaw. It's just like,
by default, you feel entitled to me that sort of
treatment because you mean a lot to the organization.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
Let me read this to you, Mike, and then your response. OK.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Genie buss So the pick of Bronni as a major
gesture of loyalty to the James family, and she expected
a little appreciation from Lebron, but gratitude, but instead, you
believe he shrugged it off, and it really irked Genie.
Speaker 4 (13:35):
So what what bothers me the most about this is
the fact that when they did draft Bronni, they tried
to pretend like it was a reasonable draft pick. And
now she's turning around and saying, well, obviously we would
never have drafted him. But if Lebron she's talking out
of both sides of her mouth right now, that's absolutely ridiculous.
I have she's crazy.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
They're saying, of course, a lot of uncertainty when they
drafted Bronnie because you so very little of him in college.
It seemed like a pickfoil Lebron. But you're right now,
So by Genie saying that there, they are just just
confirming that they made that peck just for lebron. That's
sort of on her. And here's why. First of all,
people stink. It's not just lebron people stink, And that's
why you have to I learned this from Ivan Drago.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
Remember him, former champion Russian boxer.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Hell yeah, you see the snow in Russia. It's almost
like Rocky Ford thirteen feet of snow. True story. And
by the way, I'm so confused what's real or not
because there's pictures on social medium.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
Like is that real?
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Like the abounable snowman. No, that's fine, that's not true,
the snow monster. Okay fu, but there is thirteen feet
of snow. But what did he say besides I must
break him? He says, did Yabian fight for you? Do
for you and worry about you? And I say this
because when you do the right thing sometimes in life,
do them because it's the right thing for you. You know
(14:52):
in your heart of hearts and soul of souls that
I'm doing this because I know it's the right thing,
not because you want some sort of thank you or
some sort of gratitude, some sort of pat on the back,
like do it because you know it's the right thing
to do. And Genie Buss did this clearly for all
the wrong reasons, just to show a gesture to Lebron,
to be like, hey, here's what we're doing, Lebron, because
(15:15):
when you do it for those reasons, you're never when
you do it for the thank you, you're doing it
for all the wrong reasons. Now listen, don't I don't
think it was well, I want to say, for all
the wrong reasons. Lebron James is a big part of
the organization, so she but when you're looking for that
gratitude oftentimes in life because people think you don't get it,
and I got stories, You got stories. Genie Buss has stories.
Speaker 11 (15:35):
There's a little bit more to it as well, all
of the systeming sort of from background investigation from the
sale of the team. So it dates back to I
believe the Westbrook trade. Like her annoyance is that Lebron
never takes accountability when things go wrong, despite his huge
(15:58):
influence over the team.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
Got so if Lebron's like, I want to be involved
in the decisions, and then when the decisions don't go right,
Lebron's like, well, what not my vault?
Speaker 11 (16:06):
And apparently after that in twenty twenty two, because they
didn't make the playoffs the previous year, Genie Bus consider
trading him or not renewing his contract.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
Well, Geni Buss then should have just done this just
out of kindness. Hey, Lebron means a lot to our organization.
We want to show the loyalty to him. We're going
to draft his son and leave it at that. You
shouldn't expect anything else in return, honestly, because that's just
how life is and how people are. I have a
quick story i'll share with you as an example. I
(16:35):
found get this. This is no joke, No, lie, I
found a watch. I was walking my dog with my
I was playing with Mayo Yo.
Speaker 6 (16:43):
On the street. Corner.
Speaker 4 (16:44):
Man, you're.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
I'm a former Duncan champion. No, I'm actually walking the dog.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
And I see my dog poking around underneath the table
at a outside sort of restaurant, and what are you
poking at. I look under there and there's a watch.
But it's not just a watch. It's not a Swatch watch.
It's not some old Cassio, it's not some sort of
fossil from nineteen ninety something. It's a Cardier watch. And
I looked at it. I'm like, man, this is a
(17:11):
nice expensive watch. This is someone's expensive watch. I looked
it up. It was a thirty thousand dollars watch.
Speaker 4 (17:18):
Dang.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
But dude, I did the right thing because I knew
it was the right thing to do. I didn't do
it for a reward or a thank you or a
pat on the back. It hurt me and paining me
to do the right thing, but I did it for me.
And I handed it back to the owner of the restaurant.
I said, hey, oh, I tell you can say you
give it to your girlfriend for Christmas. I thought about
that long and hard. I thought about that long and hard.
(17:40):
But here's where the story ties in. I gave it
to the owner and I said, this is a really
expensive watch. Man, someone's going to be looking for it.
He's like, wow, man, thanks, because most people stink and
they would have kept it and sold it right.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
I went back to that restaurant like a week later.
I'm like, hey, that watch man.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
You know, I was like a thirty thousand dollars watch
I returned to you guys, for all I knew so
much from the restaurant, could have kept it.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
Yeah, I said, whatever happened? He was, would you believe?
Speaker 4 (18:05):
Man?
Speaker 2 (18:06):
Like later that day, a guy came back for to watch,
and I thought he was gonna be so pumped to
get it back. And he never even looked up at
me from his phone. Had his head and his phone
the whole time.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
He was like, hey man, oh yeah, thanks. He was like, yeah, man,
some guy returned this today.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
He's like, you didn't. He's like, we found your watch.
Some dude was nice enough to return. He's like, hey man,
thanks and walked out the restaurant. Not a thank you,
not like wow man, not like hey, do you have
his numbers so I could thank you? But again, I
wasn't expecting that. But it proves the thought of people's think.
Don't expect that from people.
Speaker 6 (18:40):
It's weak.
Speaker 9 (18:40):
This this makes me think of when you're somewhere where
there's a tip jar, like a sandwich shopper or the
frozen yogurt place by my house. I make sure to
throw in some tip money and they see it. And
when they don't even acknowledge it or nod their head
or say oh thanks or any it bugs me. I'm like,
you could knowledge money just went in your tip.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
You know what it went into.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
It went in to your your danny g soul of
souls of doing the right thing.
Speaker 4 (19:04):
You need to go to cold Stone Creamery because if
they see a tip go in, they are required to
sing a thank you.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
They used to. I don't think they do anything. Yeah,
now I've gone there. I tip a couple of bucks.
When my kids are you know, picky about I won't
for cotton candy ice cream with this. I always throw
a couple of bucks. And in my mind, I'm like,
where's the soul they're supposed to say? You do these
kind gestures because you, Yeah, you want to do for
(19:30):
yourself the right thing, for your soul, for your kindness.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
Because that's who you want.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
I want to thank yourself when you're doing things, because
you're expecting some sort of thank you. Jeanie Buss, you're
not gonna get it. You're gonna be let down. But
people are good at that, but ungrateful lebron as the
conversation started, it's a it's a bad feeling. Cavino's right
that some people are gonna be ungrateful. That's why you
have to do it, just because you know you're doing
(19:55):
the right thing. I'll tell you a quick twenty second Sorry,
we'll move on to midwek Major get a winner a FK.
I'm at the airport New York City, John F. Kennedy Airport,
and you know those like I don't know who uses them,
but people use those like things to push your luggage,
like those little metal push carts.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
You mean who uses them? You've never used one of
those ever?
Speaker 4 (20:15):
You can rent them. They're like the rent to card.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
People traveling, I roll my suitcase and I have a
backpack or something like how often what luggage do you have?
People that are going on excursions, like masscursions where.
Speaker 4 (20:26):
They've got a bunch of kids who can't roll.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
The family travel and everyone travels with a little little
book back like you.
Speaker 4 (20:34):
I saw some.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
JAMBRONI get in a like a nice black suv, like
a like a nice car pulls up.
Speaker 4 (20:43):
This guy loads his bags.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
And I see that he left a MacBook and a
MacBook case and all this stuff on the cart. The
car starts pulling away. I run up to the car,
and on the side of the car, I'm like, yo, yo, yo, yo, guys,
you forgot I hand this guy his computer and everything.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
Much like thinking you saved his career.
Speaker 12 (21:04):
I'm thinking you're like Lloyd Christmas trying to get the
briefcase back to Mary swontsor you're like, no.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
Maybe it was a drop ransom, maybe I was Christmas.
But when I tell you, Mike, I was still disappointed.
I didn't want to reward I didn't, but this guy
was like, oh thanks, Like this guy would have went
into New York City, Long Island, Connecticut, and then he
would have been like, where is my laptop, my bag
and everything. Rich thinks he saved his life and this
guy gave him a how do you do? This guy
gave him the hight time like yeah, later.
Speaker 12 (21:31):
You know why that guy owes you a thank you though,
because you could have just done the easy thing. Was
just like, it's not my problem. You went out of
your way to try to help somebody people.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
Shopper respondes, Oh my god, that's so awesome. Thank you
so much. You're aware of what's going Wow. I really
appreciate that, but there were so many times in life
you don't get that, and it's a it's a crappy
feeling of being let down.
Speaker 4 (21:50):
What you're saying is Lebron James should be singing the
Coldstone Creamery song to Genie.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
But yes, I think you're right, but i'd like to
see that. I think, and we also that I might
have actually in the Lloyd Christmas in that stuff. All right,
let's get a winner for Mike's words of wisdom and
then spots midweek major standing by and a few uh.
Let's start with Terry and wyoming Terry, let the music simmer.
What are Mike's words of wisdom this week?
Speaker 4 (22:16):
Terry?
Speaker 5 (22:18):
All right, every great beginning starts with confusion and someone
pretending they know what's going on.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Winner, simple, Well done, Jerry. Yeah, that was some good fault,
like Mike says it, and it's like he makes it
feel complex. You just like you just riff that off. Hey, Terry,
you win.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
I'm trying to take my jobs, Harry, you know, rich
Mini ball and some coozies. We'll hook you up, all right,
buddy boy, all right man, Thank you, Thank you for
start telling him. Terry who runs this place? Harry runs

See at our score Midweek Major.

Remix.
Speaker 9 (25:41):
Gotta go quick here and give Spotty a full seven
minutes for the segment. And before we hand things over

Hell yeah, what do I talk to you about? Taking
time back from Big Mic.

To go to the guy. Oh he runs this pat
you gotta lord business?
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Yeah, who's above Big Mic. By the way, I rolled
the seven Rich roll to nine nine.
Speaker 6 (26:07):
That means Rich gets first take.
Speaker 9 (26:08):
And now, ladies and gentlemen, the most famous person besides
Judy Bloom from Scotch plains New Jersey spotty boys, guys.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
Thanks for leaving me a whole six and a half minutes.
Speaker 10 (26:18):
What's up?
Speaker 11 (26:18):
But alright, let's jump right in. So Rich, I know
you wanted me to go over the Beckham drama that's
on you. There's too much there, Okay, so thus ongoing,
but I will give you some other drama, some Taylor
Swift drama.
Speaker 4 (26:29):
I know we all love that.
Speaker 11 (26:31):
Luckily Travis Dunn for the season so he can focus
on getting dragged into all this drama. So, as you know,
Taylor was caught up in knee lawsuit involving her friend
and actress Blake Lively and actor director Justin Baldoni. Over
the movie it ends with us that whole thing. The
thing was dismiss but documents were just released that show
a text exchange between Blake and Taylor where Taylor says, quote,
(26:54):
I think this bee knows something is coming because he's
gotten out any violin. Obviously, things said in private, you
don't expect them to go public. But the whole text
exchanges there. Now, fans are taking to Travis's social media
to call out Taylor, posting comments about his fiance, saying
things like quote, I hope the Kelsey family had no
(27:16):
knowledge of Taylor Swift's wrongdoings, Otherwise it would be so
disappointing that you two decided to get married. The Kelsey
family seems so sweet. Other people are just saying that
watch out, Taylor. You've seen Taylor's true colors. You should run.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
This is well, this is major, definitely like major bs,
and I'll tell you why, Like this is a No
one would ever want their private text messages shown. Imagine
if this group chat on our show was shown. My goodness,
but you know what Taylor Swift, her friend Blake Lively,
whether their friends are not anymore, she had her back.
I just think we were deceived to think like Tror.
(27:52):
Taylor made it seem like, oh my god, it was bamboozled.
I don't want to be involved. Meanwhile, she was sort
of involved in the whole thing. But what does it
have to do with Ay the pre bananas or her
relationship with Travis kelce You or your wife never lied
to someone else, doesn't have anything to do with Travis
Kelcey leave Travis alone.
Speaker 4 (28:09):
This is man.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
I'll tell you why. First, I'll say I'll start with
a compliment. Congratulations Taylor Swift. She's in the Singer Songwriter
Hall of Fame. I guess to be there. But guess
what she's not little miss innocent? Okay, because the text
messages have come out and she was talking smack. But
who gives a daily squat The minute you say Baldoni
and Lively, I'm tuned out.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
I don't give it. I don't give a terrible terry
funk about that story.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
But you know what, Cam I agree? Do you expect
everyone to be a little angel? That's like saying none
of us here has ever texted someone something. You'd be like, ooh,
come on next doors.
Speaker 11 (28:42):
All right, keeping with the drama, but over to Baker
Mayfields during US some drama on social media over new
Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
With the new hiring.
Speaker 11 (28:53):
Longtime Falcons reporter d Orlando Ledbetter published a story in
the Atlanta Journal Constitution claiming Stefanski had a dumpster fire
at quarterback in Cleveland with both Mayfield and Watson as
failed qbs. So Mayfield couldn't let this one slide immediately
reposted to Leadbetter's post on X saying quote failed is
(29:14):
quite the reach. Pal still waiting on a text slash
call from Stefanski after I got shipped off like a
piece of garbage. Oh, he said, can't wait to see
you twice a year, coach. As you know, Mayfield spent
two seasons with Stefanski on the Browns was traded to
the Panthers in twenty twenty two. So a little bit
of beef drama there, midweaker, major.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
Major because it took a storyline. The NFL is all
about storylines and battles and feuds, right, That's what that
drives it the great football, but also the storylines, and
the NFC South is one of the more boring conferences,
if not the most boring.
Speaker 4 (29:48):
So you put a.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
Little Baker Mayfield Kevin Stefanski feud in the mix. Now,
all of a sudden, the Tampa Bay Bucks now spot,
said Steven Kofanskis. He said, Okay, I was speaking quickly.
I corrected myself in the moment. Stephen Fanci as a
cool dark beard. Okay, Rich, slow down, Oh that's cabino.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
No.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
But I think it's major only because it gives you
a little hype to a meaningless Falcons Bucks rivalry that
really doesn't exist. Now what's exciting to me? So I
say major? Absolutely major. Some people think there's such thing
as bad motivation. I think anything that motivates you is
great motivation. And if this motivates Baker Mayfield even more
to stick it to Stefanski, I love it. I use
(30:28):
this as motivation in my life. Every day. People say
to you, say to me, Carino, what's with the chip
on your shoulder? I'm like, it's not a chip, isn't
Tostito and everybody that's overlooked me. It fuels my fire
every day to prove them wrong and beat their asses.
So props to Mayfield for calling them out. Give him fuel,
give him fire, give me that which I desire.
Speaker 7 (30:47):
Eh.
Speaker 11 (30:48):
Yeah, since you stole my other Lebron story, here's another
one for you.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
So Lebron and Nike, I don't know if you.
Speaker 11 (30:56):
Saw this, facing backlash after their tone deaf plan to
honor Martin Luther King Junior. So the Nike Lebron twenty
three quote Honor the King features a turquoise green colorway front,
which matches Memphis's Lorraine motel.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
So think about that.
Speaker 4 (31:14):
Okay, honoring the place he got killed, Honoring.
Speaker 11 (31:16):
The place doctor Martin Luther King was assassinated on April fourth,
nineteen sixty eight.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
So this shoe also has like.
Speaker 11 (31:24):
A quality written on the heel commemorates Lebron's points that
he scored on Memphis in two thousand and eight. But
the shoes are focusing on the plate to honor Martin.
Speaker 4 (31:35):
Luther King, the place he was murdered, assassinated.
Speaker 11 (31:38):
So a lot of people are coming out immediately backlash
tone dev I'll say, mid, I'll tell you.
Speaker 4 (31:43):
What that's so mad because we always we always.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
Say the same thing on the show. We're consistent in
saying I look at intention and no one's intending to
be disrespectful.
Speaker 4 (31:52):
It may have missed the.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
Mark, and oh yeah, no, that I think about it,
maybe it shouldn't be the colors of the place he
got assassinated. I don't think the intention was bad. The
intention was a tribute, So I'm.
Speaker 4 (32:02):
Okay with it.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
But yeah, you don't want to miss it right, get
it right?
Speaker 2 (32:04):
Though, I agree with Rich there's no mal intent, right,
it's I think it's a major story.
Speaker 6 (32:09):
Actually, Martin Luffer King.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
Needs to be honored the proper way, better than that
Spencer's gift item.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
I saw the Martin Lufa King. It's better than the lupa.
You know. That's it. That's disrespect.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
Remember in a related story, I think it was in
like somewhere in Florida or Florida City or something like that,
where they did the embracing arms and it was like
the weirdest tribute to Martin Luther King. It's like, I
get the intent was good, but if you're going to
take the time to honor someone's life, someone significant, do
it right.
Speaker 1 (32:34):
Yeah, do it all right?
Speaker 4 (32:35):
Thank you?
Speaker 1 (32:36):
Spot all right.
Speaker 11 (32:37):
By the way, I hear the theater here in la
is doing a Lincoln promotion. If you want to head
to the theater, get some box seats.
Speaker 4 (32:44):
Stop it stipid. All right, God, let's go over to
the real news.
Speaker 6 (32:47):
Damn buy TV.
Speaker 4 (32:48):
What's going on?
Speaker 2 (32:49):
Name?
Speaker 4 (32:50):
How wonderful?
Speaker 1 (32:51):
Yeah, guys, great to see you as well.
Speaker 8 (32:54):
Cavino in a great mood because Cody Bellinger is back
with the Yankees on a five year deal worth one
hundred and sixty two million dollars, has a full note
trade clause opt outs after the second and third year
of that deal. The big news in the NFL today
is what went on in Buffalo tough to describe, so
we'll let Bill's audit Terry Pegoula explain why he fired
Sean McDermott on Saturday.
Speaker 10 (33:15):
I did not fire a coach based on a bad
officiating decision. I felt like we hit the proverbial playoff
wall year after year.
Speaker 8 (33:23):
Now, Pagula was flanked by new team president Brandon Bean,
who got a promotion from being the team's general manager.
The topic of conversation that came up was about Keon
Coleman and the drafting of the wide receiver in the
twenty twenty four draft in with the first pick in
the second round.
Speaker 6 (33:38):
Here was Pegula on that selection.
Speaker 10 (33:40):
The coaching staff pushed to draft Kon. I'm not saying
Brandon wouldn't have drafted him, but he wasn't his next choice.
He's taken for some reason, heat over it and not
saying a word about it.
Speaker 8 (33:52):
By the way, Coleman's still on the team, So you
still remember on the Buffalo Bills, Brandon Aiyuk's not going
to be a member of the forty nine ers any longer.
GM John Lynch, confirming that Ayuk has played his last
snap as a Niner. Lynch also weighing in on the
electrical substation next to the team's practice facility.
Speaker 6 (34:11):
Here's a bit of that. You may have heard it earlier,
but here it is again.
Speaker 14 (34:14):
You have to look into everything, and so our guys
have been We've been reaching out to anyone and everyone
to see does a study exist rather than a guy
sticking an apparatus underneath the fence and by coming up
with a number that I have no idea what that means.
That's what we know exists. We've heard that debunked, you know.
So yes, we will look into it. We have and
(34:35):
we'll always speak cognizant of things. I know that a
lot of games have been won at this facility, you know,
since it opened.
Speaker 4 (34:41):
But yeah, we aren't going to turn a blind eye.
We'll look into everything.
Speaker 6 (34:44):
It is your answer, Rich, So they will look into it.
Speaker 4 (34:46):
Will they get to get the MythBusters?
Speaker 6 (34:49):
Maybe a three part episode.
Speaker 8 (34:51):
Eagles interviewed Matt Nagy for their offensive coordinator position as
the Chiefs manted official Eric b enemy will be the
oc INKC Piston's one of k Cunningham. Tonight, out against
the Pelicans because of an illness.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
Back to you fellas, thank you, dB, and I do
have a retraction Rich the embrace that Martin Luther King statue,
that weird statue that's in Boston. Oh those weird arms
where we're at like in Boston. Not sure what happened
there won't happen again. Well, hey, we got more covin

getting six at home? Are you gonna getna go with
the Rams on the road? And so after that Broncos
Rams super Bowl that we've never seen. And I think
we are downplaying the cool storyline of Stitty doing his thing.
Why are we rooting against the underdog to play big
(35:47):
in a big moment?
Speaker 4 (35:48):
That's kind of cool? You're going double dog either.
Speaker 2 (35:49):
I know, it's like there's something about it, like, yeah,
but who wants to see that? But why not look

(38:46):
in relationships, in business, in life, the blueprint a lot
of times is there. You see other people make a
mistake and you're like, all right, I know not to
do that, yes, but yet people still will make that mistake.
You could say, Danny, I'm sure you've seen this with
your step son's right where you're like, yo, my man,
don't do that. They do it, and you're like, man,
I told you, I mean, tell me the story of
(39:06):
your life.
Speaker 6 (39:07):
Not to do that they got.
Speaker 9 (39:09):
What's the old cliche, they have to learn by making
their own mistake.
Speaker 2 (39:13):
Yeah, but I'm guessing. I'm guessing it's not the FAF.
I'm guessing it's not the first time, Danny, that you've
you've said something to one of your sons and he
just didn't listen and then something happened. Nope, noubt not register.
You've seen it in sports. And I bring this up
because I'moran Saint Brown, who I love. I would love
this guy on my team detroit lyon.
Speaker 1 (39:30):
You love his upbringing and his discipline and militant ways.
Speaker 4 (39:35):
I just feel like his dad's his dad.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
His story was he made him catch at least two
hundred passes a day every day. I feel like his
dad's a bit much. But I feel like the discipline
I try to. I try to teach my kids a little.
My wife's a little soft with the kids, so I try.
I can never get to the Amoran Saint Brown's dad's
level of discipline.
Speaker 4 (39:53):
I don't know if that's normal anyway.
Speaker 2 (39:55):
Good luck co parenting, because I had a co parent,
could never discipline my daughter the way I wanted to,
because she'd run back and tell mom and you know
when you have different houses, it's just never never on
the same page. Back to Amor on Saint Brown. He
was in an interview and he started talking about Lions
fans and talking about Dan Campbell.
Speaker 4 (40:12):
Just take a listen to Aman ra B.
Speaker 1 (40:14):
I see crazy Lions fans talking crazy, like, oh why
would we do this?
Speaker 4 (40:18):
Like, Bro, do you guys like have no trust in
Dan in the Lions?
Speaker 1 (40:24):
Like do you think they would just hire a random dude?
Speaker 4 (40:26):
Like be for real? Like you think they don't know
what they're doing, They don't do their research.
Speaker 1 (40:29):
Interview like most of you guys don't know really much
about anything about any ball.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
He says, Lion fans don't know ball. He talks about them,
criticizing Dan Campbell, and then he repeatedly continues to say,
Lion fans, relax, relax. I think he's saying, trust the process.
We know they know more than you do. He's a
big enough star where if you want to interpret it
as just playful, you can because you don't want to
(40:54):
not like him.
Speaker 4 (40:54):
But the Lions are good.
Speaker 2 (40:56):
They missed the playoffs this year, but he's a good
player on a team that you know you would think
go maybe be back next year.
Speaker 4 (41:01):
Right, this happened to the Mets.
Speaker 2 (41:03):
Do you remember the hobby bias experiment and you remember
they turned on the fans where they started doing the
thumbs down thing to the fans. You you, as a
player just lesson learned. You can't toe that line and Rod,
because if you start turning on the fans, it never ends. Well,
it's not like the fans like, man, you're crazy. They'll
take it personally. They're rooting for you with their bloods.
(41:25):
I'm just playing devil's advocate.
Speaker 4 (41:27):
The fans don't know. But he shouldn't.
Speaker 1 (41:29):
Said, customer is not always right.
Speaker 4 (41:31):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (41:31):
I don't subscribe to that.
Speaker 2 (41:32):
I know there's a customer's big headed idiot and he's
he's trying to point that out in a nice way, saying,
we're professionals, we know what we're doing.
Speaker 4 (41:40):
Just trust this. That's fair.
Speaker 2 (41:41):
Okay, but you know, maybe we touch on this a
little more tomorrow. Always running out of time, We'll see
you then
Speaker 1 (41:46):
You in the promise play goodbye, guys,
