(02:09):
I was thinking about you, Dan Bayer. I want you
to know. I was so sick over the weekend. I
didn't even go to Riches for the big watch party. Man,
that's a that's quite the sickness.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Yeah, I'm not really down with the sickness.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
I liked when I said to rich I go yeah, Man,
I didn't hear from me on Saturday, and Cavino completely
covered his bases. You noticed that Richie said, hey, Man,
I was sick.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
I was sick.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
I didn't call any I didn't call my parents this
week the night come clean, I'm covered, dB. I did
think of you, and man, rich what are you going
to do when your team is just hurt and and
and you have really no team or star players left.
There was nothing your team could do, nothing to really
feel bad about, except for the fact that they can't

(02:50):
stay healthy yet pretty, you know, run around like a
It's like a like a cartoon almost. He didn't know
what to do with the ball, Like, what's that guy
gonna do? So a tough loss, some tough injuries for
your forty nine ers, big win for the Seahawks. They
might just go all the way. And that leads us
to something we do every Monday. Oh things that make
you go, Things that make you go, things that make

(03:15):
you go.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
All right, shall I start.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
I in the history of watching football, I don't think
I've ever come away from a game feeling so blah
and let down.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
And I'm not even talking about the Niner Seahawks game, right.
That game was just that was a clabbering the Bills
Broncos game.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
I think, for the most part, unless you're a Denver fan,
it was the Josh Allen feel good narrative that I guess,
like you, if your team wasn't in it, that was
the number one narrative, like this was his chance. Yeah,
this was the all roads led to Josh Allen getting
his way and having his year. All his competition or
all teams and players that we think of as his

(04:01):
competition were out. This is Josh Allen's here to do it.

Speaker 5 (04:05):
But hold up.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
And for the record, I thought it was a catch.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Yeah, See, I thought it was a catch, and we're
gonna get to your thoughts on Buffalo and then the
post game letdown that think of the heis and lows
of a Bronco fan. But first let's go to Dan Buyer.
Some breaking NFL news.

Speaker 5 (04:26):
Breaking news from Fox Sports guys.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
Earlier today of the AFC East, Sean McDermott was fired
as the Bills head coach. Sting in the division, the Dolphins,
Multiplaer reports say we'll hire Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Halfley
to be their new head coach. He'd be brought in
by new GM john Eric Sullivan, who came from Green Bay.
This is actually kind of thought to be a done deal,
maybe a few days ago, but Hafley went on a

(04:48):
couple of more interviews. Dolphins had more interviews. But Jeff
Hafley is going to be the new head coach of
the Miami Dolphins.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
You know what it's uh, it's like the world of
anything really music, acting, college football until someone's a name
and that's a really deep statement, Comino. Until you're a name,
you're a nobody, and you hear a name like that,
then unless you really know it's not true. Gary Vaynerchuk
says you're a somebody.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
I know he does say that.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
As long as you know it, that's all that matters.
I'm just saying everyone else might not know it.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
But I'm just saying, when.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
You're a fan of a team, you want your team
to hire someone that's a household name. Jeff Haffley bro
And I'm sure I've always said, ooh, I got a
halfy like Jeff Haffley. I've always said that at least
you'll have that reference moving forward.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
He's not new to me. I always use him as
a reference.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
We'll say it's a it's a guy that it's not
the sexy hire a fan likes, right, like a fan
always wants the harbaugh or the top line or the headline.
I hear stuff like this, I get excited. And that's
why I said what I said. I get excited because
it's not always about the headline.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
I hate that.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
It's about the merit. It's about did you earn it?
Even in our industry, what do they do? Not At
Fox Sports, which I love about them, it's so easy
to hire a name, hire someone.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
That deserves it. What are you looking for it?

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Are you looking for the headline or are you looking
to actually win for substance, for merits when the story
does give you a halfley, No, because it does give
me a halfy, like Jeff Hafley, because for example, I'm
just trying to give you real life examples, right, guys.
A lot of times companies hire big names for the
press release, not necessarily because that person deserved it. Is

(06:32):
they're riding on the fame. So if Fox Sports Radio
hires a show like Cavino and Rich, you're like, wow,
these guys must be decent, there must be more.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Who the hell are they?

Speaker 1 (06:41):
But if they go out there and hire Aaron Rodgers
because he's available to do mornings, they're doing it solely
for the headline, solely for the name, solely for the
press release. So if the Dolphins make this move and
you're like Jeff Halfley, you have to say to yourself, wow,
he must really have earned it or deserve it, because
it's not a sexy high, it's not a sexy name.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
So I actually root for stories like this. So congrats.

Speaker 6 (07:03):
Yeah, he was a hot candidate as the Steelers were
just interested in him.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Might be a hot candidate, but Rich's right, he's not
like a household name.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
But guess what now he is.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
He's got a flat type like the Jim Ta trum
viavis and butt heead He's like mister Buzzcutt.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
But you know what now he is? That's it.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
That's all you need to know. He has the merit
and the substance to be that and they're seeing through
that and I love that, So props big news already.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
You know, he was an interesting guy as well, Like
I remember him obviously because he was the defensive coordinator
at Ohio State for a couple of years, but he
went and took the Boston College head coaching job then
left there to be the Packers defensive coordinator. So it
wasn't like a head coaching job moving on to another
bigger college job or even an NFL job. He went
and took the job and to be the defensive coordinator

(07:50):
with the Packers. They were great defense up until Micah
Parson's injury. But yeah, he is a He is a
well respected name within the circles, but just not a
name that rises to the level of.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
Interestingly enough, if you're a Dolphins fan, I'm curious to
hear from Dolphins fans. You go from strictly an offensive
guy like Mike McDaniel to now it's like, all right,
let's go defense.

Speaker 5 (08:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
It's what's also interesting, guys, is we thought that the
Dolphins fired Mike McDaniel to get John Harball, right, Like
that was the timing of it. McDaniel was going to
be involved in a GM search. Then Harball gets fired
and all of a sudden, the Dolphins are like, okay,
well now McDaniel's fired. So like we thought, all right,
that's why the Dolphins made the move. So not only
do they not get John Harbaugh to replace Mike McDaniel,

(08:39):
they go other side of the football with a GM
hired from the same organization. So you're just kind of
wondering on what the direction is. Maybe this is the
direction that they wanted. But they fired their GM, Chris Greer,
during the middle of the season, and there was some
thought that maybe John Harball would be the guy because
of the timing of everything, but that's not the case.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
The cooking Carris is really funny when you think about
it in terms of like dating, right, Like your girlfriend
with someone else's girlfriend wants that your wife was someone's
girlfriend and it didn't work out. Like there was some
guy out there or she was like, yeah, this this sucks,
but to you it works out perfectly.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Your wife could have had the sexy headline and she
chose you.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
It's true. It's likely she could have had sexy your
headlines in me, but she must.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Say your headlines.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
I'd know you because you earned it and deserve it
and if you just joined us. Breaking news from Dan Byer,
Dolphins are hiring former Packers defensive coordinator Jeff.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Halfley as their head coach.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
And again not to downplay or take away his merit,
his resume or what he's accomplished, but probably not a
household name for most people. But you know, it does
go like a harball. As Dan Byer mentioned before, it
does go to the work and relationship analogy of like
someone else's trash could be your treasure type of thing. Yeah,
because you could say, like Sean McDermott now out of

(09:58):
a gig, if he couldn't take Josh Allen, and you
know you could say that if he couldn't, if he
couldn't get there with Josh Allen, who's he gonna get
there with? And vice versa. I look at that as
a scapegoat story. I really do.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
He was all pumped up too.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
Yeah, he was defending his team, which I thought was
a catch too. Catch if that's a catch, and Buffalo
moves on that James Cook played that wasn't a catch
and he was down. How could it have been any
other way? So I respect that he defended it, And yeah,
he's fired. As you guys know, Sean McDermott nine seasons

(10:37):
with the team, fourth time in five seasons, exited in
the divisional round, had a record of ninety eight and fifty.
Did pretty damn well, but I get it. Couldn't get
over that hump. So you gotta do something to show
the fans that you care, right, and you can't do
anything about Josh Allen, so you fire the coach.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
So McDermott's out, So answer answer this question.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
I started by saying, it's the coaching carousel of twenty
twenty five. Has there been a game that's left you
more deflated than that Buffalo Bill's Denver Broncos game because
it was the weakest by the way for the record
eight Nate McDermott speaking of eight and eight in the
postseason with the Bills. So the Bills loose, you see,

(11:23):
sad Josh Allen. You see, Josh Allen, I thought, year,
I thought it.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
Was a catch.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
You thought it was a catchy. I guess it wasn't
a catch. You everybody thought it was a catch. You
think it was a catch.

Speaker 5 (11:34):
In the moment, I did.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Yeah, Afterward, you don't.

Speaker 6 (11:37):
Seriously, I guess I can see how it's argued in
both directions after watching the slow mo of it. But
in the moment, I thought, Okay, that's a catch. Because
usually it's like baseball, Tie goes to the runner. Our
whole adult lives watching football. Even as kids, we were
taught that if you know, the ball gets pulled away
like that after it looks like the player came down

(11:58):
with a knee, that it's the goes to the receiver.

Speaker 5 (12:01):
Ty goes to the receiver.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
So it seemed like we saw so many contradicting and
conflicting calls in other games that made you say him this.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
Weekend, you know what sucks is that?

Speaker 7 (12:10):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (12:13):
Because it's professional sports, and I know this sounds ridiculous.
You can't do it do over. There are times where
you're like, oh, it's still calls. Can we just do
it over? You know what you have to make a call,
and the call had to be made, and by giving
that call to the Broncos, they essentially you essentially.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Ended the bill season. No doubt. That puts him in
field goal range.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
We could be talking about Josh Allen's miracle run goes
on and next week he's playing in New England against
you know, division rival and Vrabel and Drake May. The
storyline was ripped away in that one moment. That one
moment changed everything. I'm not saying that body language matters
in the NFL like it does in the NBA, because

(12:53):
in NBA you could really sell something.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Don't you feel like Cook's body language.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
Made it appear like it was an interception, like he
did get it because he laid there in almost a
defeated way.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
You're saying up.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
Celebrating if he popped up and went yes, like it again.
He he almost looks like, oh man, like I can't
believe what happened. Differently on the field and the battle,
the battle is having to overturna I even like, you know,
when I saw the body language, I'm like he lost
the ball as opposed to no, I caught it and

(13:29):
I was down and play it off. I feel like
that added a lot to the call and the momentum
shift with the with the game. Now the truth will
be told in an instant replay. But if it's so close,
Danny's right, the initial call, watch it again is the
most important because that's what has to be overturned. If
you pop up in that moment and you go like
first and celebrate as opposed to looking defeat in that moment,

(13:50):
I think maybe you maybe you get a different call,
because to me, that was a catch.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Before instant replay.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
The art of selling the call the catch in baseball,
you know, phantom tag selling a play was.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
Selling a game. So maybe maybe Cooks didn't sell it in.

Speaker 6 (14:06):
Lebron was watching the games shaking his head like, man,
Cooks did that all wrong?

Speaker 2 (14:10):
Serious?

Speaker 1 (14:10):
But you know, even Peyton Manning after the game, said
he thought it was a hoax because all of a sudden,
I said, within it within minutes, you go from man
buffalo bummer. All right, Denver, you know what Peyton and
bow Nicks as teams are real. We'll have a battle
next week, I suppose. Then you hear bow Nick's ankle broken.

(14:33):
And by the way, Sean Peyton said it so nonchalantly,
In my mind, I think as a leader, you don't
want to show any panic and you want to prove
that we're good and he's ready and just lead with
that level of confidence. I think that's really why what's
he gonna do? Like, oh man, this is the worst
news for us. He can't behave that way. He has

(14:54):
to show confidence in his team and confidence to the fans, like, no,
we still got this. He's the guy, we have a system.
But if it does pan out or Stitty comes through,
what does that say about bone Nix's legacy moving forward?

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Oh? I said this to it doesn't help it. Let
me give you.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
Let me give you two cases of this and let's
go around the room, play a little what do you think?

Speaker 2 (15:15):
But not the backtrack? Ritch, You're absolutely right.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
The second you hear that news, you're like, oh, even weaker. Now.
You know, my brother's a brother for reason for the
Bills to have won that game. My brother likes the Broncos,
and my dad was saying that, Hey, you know, your
brother said if he would have known this would happen,
he would have been like that, give the game the buffer, seriously.
So I remember Carson Wentz was all the rage. He

(15:41):
was on an MVP type of season for the Philadelphia Eagles.
He gets hurt, Nick Foles wins a super Bowl, Carson
Wentz and gains a sweet reputation and nickname. Oh big Nick,
everybody knows.

Speaker 5 (15:59):
Can't do it.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
So big Nick wins the super Bowl. Yeah, big Year's Nick,
Big Years Nick, Big Years. Nick wins the super Bowl
and then all of a sudden, Carson Wentz before the
career goes, you know, astray. There was a sense of well,
we won a super Bowl with without this guy.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
He was the guy, but now we won without him.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
So it was a sense of Philadelphia Eagles super Bowl champions,
and our quarterbacks like the guy that wasn't in it.
How could you be the star of the team when
your backup is who led you to a super Bowl.
It's kind of tough living in that shadow. You're never
the same guy. So if Stidy leads them all the way,
what does it say. It says that, well, they have

(16:44):
a great system, they're coached really well, they have a
great team, great defense, and yeah they won without their start.
When I say we don't need this guy and it
sucks for Nicks, it's unended. Phil Simms do you do
you think Phil Sims, oh, two times super Bowl champ
or do you think Phil Simms, Oh, he won against
the Broncos in the eighties, And you're like, I guess

(17:06):
he did technically have.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
A second one.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
Remember Hostetler came in at the end of the year
and that team ended up winning. Do you look at
Phil Simms and say two time Super Bowl champion Danny
or one time?

Speaker 5 (17:16):
That's a tough one.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
No, it doesn't make it true, but it's how it's perceived, right. Well, yeah,
on paper and reality of two different things. Phil Simms
is a one time Super Bowl champion. In my eyes,
he didn't beat the Buffalo Bills. Jeff Hosteler's giants won
that game.

Speaker 6 (17:30):
But you could make an argument that bo Nicks took
Denver as far as he took them this season. And Covi,
I understand what you're saying about how the thought could be, well,
maybe they don't need him, but they're gonna need him
in the Super Bowl. Yeah, home playoff game, a home
championship game, they could maybe win off the power of
their defense with a backup quarterback in the Super.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
Bowl though, Yeah, but we saw Foles do it. I'm
telling you.

Speaker 5 (17:54):
I'm not saying it's impossible.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
I'm just saying it's not impossible, and this is the
most cool opportunity ever firstit up. He seems like a
like a cool, handsome dude. I saw picture him and
his girlfriend and they're like, yeah, let's he's taken on
this opportunity. I do like the underdog backup storyline. I'm
not mad at it by any means. I wish him
all the best, but it's sort of tough, and it
does make you feel worse about the Bills blowing their chances.

(18:17):
That way you could say, you could say Riches is
the stupidest thing you ever said on Fox, and it's possible.
But I think there's a part of the subconscious of
bo Nicks that is like, I, this can't happen because
if Denver wins without bo Nicks, there will be that
underlying like as Drake may said, we ever need he's
a good Christian man, He's not gonna think that way.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
What's up? Deep?

Speaker 4 (18:37):
I think there's the other side of the coin, Like,
in a weird way, I think that Sean Payton loves this.
Imagine what this does for Sean Payton's reputation ego if
he loses his quarterback, you know, prior to the AFC
Championship game.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
I agree.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
I think that's why we saw that confidence. He's so
confident that like it's him in the system and they're
coaching that could take them that we're good with Sitty.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
He's ready to go.

Speaker 7 (19:00):
dB.

Speaker 6 (19:00):
Did you notice how Peyton even joked like, oh, if
I knew about these ankle injuries, you know, we wouldn't
have drafted bo Nicks.

Speaker 5 (19:06):
Sure, that was like, that's a weird time to joke.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
There was.

Speaker 4 (19:09):
There was also Peyton having to do two press conferences
because Nix wasn't gonna come out because of the injury.
But if we look back to last the twenty twenty
four offseason when they were in training camp, Stidham was
thought to be the leader in the clubhouse for that job.
And then because Zach Wilson was also in that quarterback room, yep,
but Stidham was thought to be the leader. Then it

(19:30):
ended up you heard rumblings it's gonna be Bonix Bonix.
So I don't think that there was underprepared. The one
thing I will say with Wentz, the only difference is
at least the Eagles had a ramp up period for
Foles to get acclimated. This is just trying to figure
out how for sixty minutes you could beat the New
England Patriots.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Oh Steller had two regular season weeks before the postseason. Well,
Foles had even a longer run away. I think Wentz
got hurt like week twelve or thirteen or something like that.
I just the there's always gonna be similar And I
look at those two previous examples of well, Phil Simms
really didn't win two and yo, Carson Wentz on paper
super Bowl champion.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
But that's Nick Foles.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
And if you're a Denver Broncos fan and Stidham comes
in there and you somehow win, you need to win
two games. That's a crazy part, right, you need to
beat New England and then and then two wins away
from being you have one of the game in a
few weeks from now.

Speaker 6 (20:23):
But as a starter in the NFL, Stidham's one in three, right, right,
you know? And I got an eye full of Stidham
when he was playing for the Raiders not too long ago.
But Danny is not He's not horrible, but he's just
not a great quarterback either.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
Let's just say, right, let's just say he does it.
Bo Nicks becomes so irrelevant to a Denver Broncos fan.
I'm probably unfortunately you've seen it happen in the past.
I lived in New York when Hosteler won with the Giants.
Do no one cared about Phil Sims the same way?
And Carson Wentz the next year, Everyone's going big?

Speaker 2 (20:58):
Is it Lipsnick? Right? Your years Figuresnick? Everyone was sharing
for Nick Foles and he was a backup that he
became this legend, like this, this.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
Hero Philly special. Lars was getting MVP chance before that happened.
So they loved Wentz, they loved once leading into that,
and then he became like a second thought leftovers after that.

Speaker 6 (21:16):
Does it make you feel any different though? That the
Patriots defense is what you could say they are riding
on right now and Drake May and that offense look
slightly shaky.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Yeah, they look vulnerable for sure.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
I'm just saying because Denver's defense is good, nothing nothing
is impossible, right because if Denver could keep you in
every game, what Stident would have to do is not
as drastic like they're like Caleb Williams Brock party. There
are teams whose defenses were not great, and you knew
you had to put up points to win, right Like
you know you had to do something special to win.

(21:48):
I don't know if you need to do something that
special in Denver to win. If it's a defensive battle.

Speaker 4 (21:53):
Denver's got one of the best, if not the best
offensive line in the National Football League of the lines
dam first Pro. Defensively, we know how much they get
after it. That's why I think the Peyton thing is
just so intriguing of how do you how do you
win this sixty minute battle? Because that's really all that
it is. It's it's not a long it's not a
big picture sort of thing. It's how do you get

(22:14):
it done.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
On Sunday I heard Dan Patrick on the network talking
about it. How we use the word game manager like
it's all negative, But at this stage of the game,
of the playoffs, you just need to find a way
to win in sixty minutes. Managing the that's what you're doing.
You're managing how do I win this game? And Sean
Payton could if the score zerosier after the first quarter,
he might be like, yes, exactly what I wanted, Like

(22:36):
just no.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
One moved the ball.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
It's just clock, kill the clock and get you know,
get a couple of drive going like it's not about
what rich To wrap up this thought about bone Nicks
and how unfortunate that was and how that just added
to the deflating feeling of the Bills losing that one
because it was a heartbreaker. I don't know if you
saw how many people thought that the bon Nick story.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
Was a hoax and Peyton Manning like I said, yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
But it was all over so many fans like did it,
Like wives were filming their husbands finding out.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
I don't know if you've seen that. That's really kind.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
Yeah, but in the world, in the world of Ai
and Sora and fake news, you really didn't know what
to believe.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
You're like, wait, is that true? Didn't know?

Speaker 1 (23:18):
Didn't Peyton Manning reach out to Bronco's front office folks
saying like, yo, is this a hoax or not? So
it's a shame that we live in a world where
we don't even know what to believe. But apparently it
happened on the second to last play, and in retrospect
you saw him hobbling off the field, wincing and remissing,
as they say, and to say that getting injured at
and inopportune wincing getting injured and in opportune time and

(23:42):
giving someone else a chance to be a hero. You
tell me that couldn't happen when he talked to a
guy named Drew Bledsoe and see how he feels about
you know what.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
About going down.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
Well, we'll take your phone calls next, but I think
we need to shift our mindset on that story.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
It's really a cool story. Isn't a fortunate it is?

Speaker 1 (24:01):
It's it's terrible because we've seen what happened to Wentz's
career and Phil Simms and his reputation after that. Right,
this is really really cool or a cool opportunity for
Stidham and the rest of the team. This could be
something to rally around. And it's an underdog story. The
backup quarterback gets a chance to show that he was
great all along. But I'd have a storyline to routine exactly.

(24:24):
And I know there's a lot of disappointed feelings about that,
but we need to shift it. As you know, this
might be actually a cool thing for us as fans
to watch and to root for. We didn't talk about
the Green Day News. We have lots to get to,
but your phone calls first. Yeah, say hi to Travis
in Los Angeles. Hi, Travis, Hey, Travis, so rich.

Speaker 7 (24:44):
Now that your team's out, you're available seven days a
week for flag football?

Speaker 2 (24:48):
Right?

Speaker 1 (24:49):
Yes, I am available every day, you know speaking of
Is that all you had to say? With all the
injuries and yeah, you want me to play flag football?
My daughter plays flag football.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
With all the injuries with your team.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
I know experts have debunked the conspiracy and debunked the rumors.
And if you don't know what we're talking about, their
practice facility, the forty nine ers practice facility in Santa
Clara is right next to this electrical substation, and they're
saying that the frequency is there weaken the tendons, like
the electromagnetic fields weaken the tendons and affect the muscles,

(25:29):
causing all these injuries. I know it's been debunked, but
who the MythBusters who? I don't know anyone that debunked
this read It has been a viral story. It hasn't
hit the mainstream to my knowledge. I see it all
over social media. Yeah, they test the elect electromagnetic field

(25:49):
and they say, it's it's a lot stronger in that
area and it's not good for the muscles. You know,
when you look at how injured they were. Even during
the game this weekend, mccaffe free and his shoulder. You
see him grimacing, you see how much pain he was in.
You're like, oh my god, is there something like if
it's not that, then what is it? Because Richard's no

(26:10):
way your team had any chance. Well, I don't know
if it was Kendrick Bourn or it wasn't Jennings a
forty nine Ers receiver in a postgame. It makes me
say referenced it as like a joke though, like reference
all the power facility next to the what gives with
the injuries? Man, Listen, it could be total bs. You
could send the MythBusters or whoever they are. But I

(26:30):
think in today's day and age of AI and fake
news and no one knowing what's true and is it Sora,
is it a real video? I do think that the
forty nine Ers need to legit put out a statement
like all this is nonsense, because there could be a
free agent or draft pick or someone that's like, yeah,
I'm not sure if I want to be doctors and
experts have debunked it as baseless, stating there's no scientific

(26:52):
evidence that it harms players, though the team's injuries are
real and clearly impacted the team this year, so that's
too rich. But to me, I'm like, man, you just
almost want that as an answer because it would make
more sense.

Speaker 2 (27:07):
You just read something you googled. I don't know if
it's true. What's up, Dann Bayer.

Speaker 4 (27:11):
The one thing that I would say in defense of
the forty nine ers is they've practiced in this area
for this for decades. I've stadium was built right next
to their practice facility, So it's not like this is
just a previous couple of seasons. They've been there for
a long long time.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
But it only makes me say, hmm when you look
at the shell of a team and they were playing
with over the weekend, so and they did their best. Man,
you can't blame Purdy, you can't blame McCaffrey. Heard someone
else blaming Kyle Shanahan saying that they practice they practice
at a which is it not like a not less
full contact like interesting, Shanahan's practices are lighter than most

(27:52):
every head coach, so people get in the game in
full force. Yeah, like they've like Shanahan's practices are more.

Speaker 4 (28:00):
Then yeah, and that could that could be a reason
why I will say this just to make a bigger picture.
I'm curious on your thoughts, Like there are guys that
got injured that I'm just like, yeah, they get injured.
Like Trent Williams. I know he played and he played
in the previous dup you know, playoff games, but was
heard at the end of the regular season Trem Williams
is old, right, Like this stuff, this stuff happens to

(28:22):
players who are older, and the forty nine Ers are
an older team. What I just find interesting is we're
just a couple of seasons removed of a healthy Brandon
ayyuk A, Deebo, Samuel, all of these weapons, you know,
George Kittle's in his early thirties, but all of these
weapons at their disposal, and now you get into the
playoffs this year and you're thrown to Juwan Jennings.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
I think that's the one thing that no one talks
about about the forty nine Ers. I'm glad you brought
it up. Dan as a Niners fan, I said to Kavino,
I said you run it back with healthy players, You're
still lacking a big receiver, right. The forty nine ers
were like, well you have Ayuk, you had Debo, who's
like this multi purpose guy in his prime. They tried
to drave Pearsal. He spent a bust and I know
the start of last year was very unfortunate with the

(29:03):
with the you know, the gun shop situation. But this
year he's been injured throughout the year, so that hasn't
panned out like you would have hoped. I think other
than just getting healthy, the forty nine ers do need
to figure out in free agency or the draft, like
a wide receiver is on the list. Yeah, like they
You're right, Jwan Jennings other than him, like like Kendrick
Bourne was back in the mix, Like people that came

(29:24):
back in the mix that wouldn't even be on other teams.
Over promised our bonus pod just rips. You could watch it,
you could hear it. It's on YouTube. Covino and Rich FSR.
We're turning this mother out like mc hammer back in
the nineties. CNR on FSR live from the Fox Sports
Radio Studio, and it's time for our ti Iraq play

(29:45):
the Day we gotta go with the miracle on fourth down,
the play of the season.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
We were just talking about it.

Speaker 4 (29:52):
Fourth down and four fourteen of the Rams shotgun staff
coach back four four.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
Man lush, He's chased, he's fussed, he's.

Speaker 5 (29:59):
All the way back to the he's backing.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
And fills to pass and.

Speaker 8 (30:04):
Touchdown.

Speaker 7 (30:05):
Touchdown, Chicago's touchdown pass?

Speaker 2 (30:10):
What cole come in open in the corner. If you
hadn't seen it, you would not believe it.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
How do you not love that? You can't teach that
type of magic, those big moments. That's courtesy of Kevin
Harland Westwood One. As Mike Oliver said on our inshow Chat,
What up, Mike? Kevin Harland's good? Huh Yeah, it's so good.
He listens to our network. By the way, what keV?
He has tweeted in before to comment on things we're
talking about.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
Appreciate that. As Wes from Vegas said, who's a Seahawks fan?
All for nothing? And yeah, that was tough. I want
to go to Kevin Culver City.

Speaker 5 (30:51):
Yeah, he wants to talk about Caleb Williams in that play.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
What keV?

Speaker 9 (30:56):
What's what's up?

Speaker 5 (30:57):
Man?

Speaker 7 (30:58):
Hey?

Speaker 9 (30:59):
That play is incredible? Because he's running back fifty yards
and then he does like a he's falling down three
guys in front of him. He throws the ball accurately
perfectly in the end zone with cause Mett catches it.
I thought they were gonna go for two too. I
thought the Rams were flush us of the game's over.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
There's no way the Rams were gonna stop him there
because Caleb could have run the ball or through it.
So the Rams got away with one there. So I
totally thought they were going for doing and another thing too,
which shit them. All you need is for a backup
quarterback is one game. I mean, so he might not
get the two games, but you can win one game
with him. That's what a backup quarterback is do.

Speaker 1 (31:36):
I think, like we were saying, that offensive line for
Denver solid. They have a good running game, they have
a great defense. It's it's a scenario where a backup
quarterback could do things like you don't ask a lot.
You don't ask a lot out of a quarterback in
that scenario. That's why you saw the confidence of Sean Payton.
That's what I think. I agree with Dan said, you know,
I think this is his chance to shine. I think

(31:56):
Caleb Williams in that moment, like, well.

Speaker 2 (31:58):
Ben Johnson.

Speaker 1 (31:59):
Did you see Ben Johnson after the game, they asked
him why he didn't go for two, And you had
noticed throughout that game the Bears had struggled on fourth
and short.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
They had come up short a few times.

Speaker 1 (32:08):
So in that moment, Ben Johnson did say, because of
their lack of success earlier in the game in those
short yardage fourth down situations, that he felt better about
going to overtime.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
He thought about it, but earlier in the game there
were moments where the Bears look lost on like fourth
and two.

Speaker 6 (32:24):
Cove, It's like a boxing match. When you got a
guy on the ropes, you gotta finish him up. Yeah,
you let him go to another round. Who knows how
it's going to finish, Danny.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
You're right, thirty seconds off in the round. You don't
want to let him get to the next round. You
want to you have thirty seconds, knock them out and
they have the chance to be like it would have
been the most ballsy call I would say, arguably in
recent NFL history, to go for it in the end
of regulation, go for two for the win. But if
they go for that if they go for that and
get it. Ben Johnson is like a hero Caleb Williams.

(32:53):
But you know what, I'll you know what they got.
They got the Ndi Chavez treatment. And you might be like,
who's Ndi shov Exactly one of the greatest catches you
ever see in baseball postseason history, New York Met leftfielder
jumped over the wall to bring back a home running
game seven none. But the only problem was the Mets
ends up losing the game, and what would have been
called the greatest catch ever is just a cool moment

(33:16):
that would have been if the Bears went that game,
the moment that was humue. If the Bear's been that game,
that's one of the greatest moments in playoff history. We
got more seeing our next more NFL hang tight, you
everything at Covino and Rich and we're gonna get to
more of your feedback, wrapping up things that make you
go home. Can I just say this, With all the

(33:37):
Sean McDermott got fired and Halflee got hired, and all
the upsets and all the crazy moments, one of the
coolest plays of the weekend, like gets lost in the
under the radar, Like you're talking about the Kayleb Williams
play that one handed booty snack, And I'm not talking
about the one that happened in your bedroom the week.
I'm an expert at one handed booty grabs. That one

(33:58):
handed booty grab in the dude, it was one of
the best catches and no one's talking about it. So
it makes you go, hmm, like, man, they're capable of
some really big plays moving forward. So that was a
really cool play that I think God forgotten in the mix.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
Because there's so many big moments.

Speaker 1 (34:15):
You know, you want to hate on the Patriots because
they've been there, done that, it just seems it seems unfair.
Actually texted our buddy Mark, who's a big Patriots fan Eddie,
I was like, do you think you deserve another one
so soon? Like, I don't know if Patriot fans deserve this.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
So quickly. But Drake May and his wife are they
not adorable? Did you see her? Like? iHeart Drake May's shirt,
Like she does.

Speaker 1 (34:38):
A little baking recipes and little videos like it's hard
to really hate Vray Bowl.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
I don't know, they just seem I wish they were hateable.

Speaker 5 (34:45):
They're a likable team.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
Yeah, you know, and I found adorable.

Speaker 1 (34:50):
Fernando Mendoza talking about his mom and hew like she
means the world to him, Like how do you root
against this guy tonight?

Speaker 2 (34:56):
But a few other things if you went to Miami
or that's about it.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
A few other things that made me go, we'll wrap
it up with your phone calls. Cooper Cup won Super
Bowl MVP with the Rams, now faces them in the
NFC Championship game.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
That's kind of cool.

Speaker 1 (35:13):
Makes me go, hmmm, more to play for In this
Green Day story, I feel like it's going under the
radar a little bit.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
They're opening up the.

Speaker 1 (35:21):
Super Bowl super Bowl sixty with Green Day, and I
think there's some backhanded disc toward the president because they're
outwardly spoken at their disdain of President Trump. But honestly,
I think it makes them look weak because I think
they're bigger than opening ceremony.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
I get it's the Super Bowl, but I think Green
Day could do a halftime show.

Speaker 1 (35:40):
Are they incorporating like a new opening ceremony? This is
a good new thing. I mean, we've seen.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
NFL sponsored events and other companies, but is it.

Speaker 1 (35:47):
Green Day just played this weekend here in Los Angeles
or at Englewood at a Big iHeart event, Big iHeart event.
They're great, dude, They're legends, and I think it's beneath
them to open up anything. I think they're a halftime act. Honestly,
that's how big they were in the ninete Well, if
the NFL is just adding meaning like hey, before the game,
before all this, hey, we'll treat you to a couple
of Green Day songs, I don't know who would oppose

(36:08):
that at all.

Speaker 2 (36:10):
Don't want to be an American idiot.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
You know they're playing that one and they're giving a
big few to somebody.

Speaker 4 (36:17):
You know what's interesting. And you guys would know this
because you've been to a Super Bowl. I've been fortunate
to be at a bunch as well. The countdown clock
that they have in the stadium, it's interesting because I
think it starts at ninety minutes, so it tells in
ninety minutes to kickoff, and you see players, you see
fans coming in and the pregame stuff, like with thirty

(36:41):
minutes still left on the clock, it's like players off
the field because there's so much to get done. And
to answer your question, it sounds like they're going to
perform and they're gonna do kind of something that did
the last time. I think with some you know, whether
it be Hall of Famers or Super Bowl MVPs, they'll
have some sort of performance of bringing out those players

(37:01):
or former players, I think during green Day's performance. So
that's kind of what we have to expect before, you know,
the national anthem and and other stuff that.

Speaker 1 (37:11):
I don't think anyone would argue more theatrics with green Day. Hey,
I'm not hating. I'm just stating. I mean, I think
it's cool to see Green Day. I'm I'm a huge fan.
I just think that they're more of a halftime act
and sold themselves short of the opportunity.

Speaker 2 (37:24):
See I disagree. I'm reading the feedback.

Speaker 1 (37:25):
Matt nineteen ninety says no one gives an ass about
Green Day in twenty twenty six. I think green Day's
a class They got longevity. They just performed this weekend
with twenty one pilots and a bunch of other bands
out here in LA. They're class for it up based
on you know, time is passing. They are a classic
rier now, but they're still may They're one of the
only bands that go back that far that are still

(37:46):
able to make a hit.

Speaker 4 (37:47):
Here's just one quick thing I want to read to you,
because this is the NFL. They released a statement. Senior
Director of Event and Game Presentation Tim Tubadeaux said, quote,
Celebrating sixty years of Super Bowl history with Green Day
as a hometown band while honoring the NFL legends who've
helped to find this sport is an incredibly powerful way

(38:08):
to kick off Super Bowl sixty. As we work alongside
NBC Sports for this opening ceremony, we look forward to
creating a collective celebration for fans in the stadium and
around the world. So in the stadium opening ceremony, but
maybe most notably, haven't we all said, like pick a
local flavor for the halftime show right, Well now they're

(38:29):
doing it with an opening so maybe that's something we
see moving forward. Good where local flavor, depending if it's
going to be la next year or Atlanta the year
after that, having a role in an opening ceremony as
opposed to a halftime celebration.

Speaker 1 (38:42):
Someone would oppose an annual like, hey, not only do
you have a halftime show, there's gonna be a cool
band that does some opening number. And you said celebrating
sixty years? Would it be too predictable? And I rolly
if I said they're going to roll out Time of
Your Life by green Day, Sure, like a montage of
sixty years of the NFL, because what else goes with pain?

(39:04):
So many upbeat songs though, But you're right, maybe they
come as far as montage. Maybe they come out play
American Idiot or play Brainstew.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
There's gonna be a big few to trump, I'm sure,
but they could.

Speaker 1 (39:14):
Play like an old rocking hit and then slow it
down to what's their most rocking hit. It's gotta be
even though it's so commercially played out Brainstew like brain
Stew an American Idiot, and then go into Timeier Life
with an NFL montage.

Speaker 2 (39:31):
I don't who would hate that better than nothing? Right?

Speaker 1 (39:34):
We didn't point out CJ. Stroud and how painful it
was to watch. It really was like I felt bad
for the kid. I even said to my girlfriend, we
have to realize these are just kids. When you see
Josh Allen crying up there and his teammates crying thinking
that he thinks they he let him down, You're like,
they're just young men doing their best. There's so much

(39:55):
pressure on them. But I think we really saw the
pressure get to CJ.

Speaker 5 (39:58):
Stroud.

Speaker 1 (39:58):
I think the moment was just too big for what
he was capable of. And that's just hard to watch,
to the point where they were going to put a
backup in, they were going to put in What's Mills?

Speaker 2 (40:07):
Right?

Speaker 1 (40:08):
Like that's really sad, dude, like that he played that
bad in this big of a moment.

Speaker 6 (40:12):
Well, there were some hot takes last weekend after CJ's
performance where people were like, Hey, Davis Mills, he played
great during the season. I would start him. People like,
you're crazy. They might have watched Shroud's team, but he
might have been able to generate a little more offense.

Speaker 1 (40:27):
Stroud had seven turnovers and two playoff games. Stroud's the
first player with five plus interceptions and five plus fumbles
in a postseason. He had a really bad game. And
you know when it all started for CJ. Stroud?

Speaker 6 (40:41):
Yeah, when when he declined to come to the stage
at Super Bowl Week to be on the Covino and
Rich Show.

Speaker 1 (40:46):
It's the cnr EF fact. You're right, you could call
it carcase.

Speaker 6 (40:49):
That was right after his brilliant rookie season, and it's
been downhill since then.

Speaker 2 (40:53):
Don't don't do anything wrong to us? Do you remember Kaepernick?

Speaker 7 (40:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (40:58):
Yeah, he dissed me? And then there was the end for.

Speaker 1 (40:59):
A Hey, Rich, can I give you one last non
sports related thing that made me go over the weekend?

Speaker 2 (41:06):
And then we'll wrap it up with phone calls and
thoughts please.

Speaker 1 (41:10):
I keep getting links now from buddies pushing their kids
girls Scout cookies, and I'm all for contributing. I'm all
for it, not complaining and just explaining. But there's three things.
There's a new cookie that's involved. I'm like, what the
hell is that?

Speaker 2 (41:26):
Oh? The explore Wars?

Speaker 1 (41:28):
Yeah, yeah, you know what they call it? What is
that they call it? Because you know the usual suspects,
you know, all the regular cookies. You're like, what's this one?
They call it Rocky Road ice cream in a cookie?

Speaker 5 (41:38):
All right?

Speaker 1 (41:38):
So that's number one. Number two. I'm like, wait a second, isn't.

Speaker 2 (41:42):
This too early?

Speaker 1 (41:42):
Is it?

Speaker 5 (41:43):
Like?

Speaker 2 (41:43):
I thought they're seasonal? Are there?

Speaker 6 (41:45):
Two?

Speaker 1 (41:45):
Are they catching it two times a year now? Because
why am I getting all these requests right now? That's
the little early but I time not only this, get this?
You know it's a four box minimum, Like I'm thinking
to myself, Yeah, I'll contribute. I really don't want to
eat all these cookies. You have to buy four boxes,
and kid, if you go to the supermarket, if you

(42:05):
got at the price, if you go to the super
six bucks the box. Now, if you go to the
supermarket and you see some kids outside with their moms
a little table, you don't have to buy four. Maybe
if you order them online. Yeah, you can only buy
four at a time. That's the minimum at six bucks.
It used to be what five before that was like
two bucks. Well, everyone in the studio prepared to fatten
up because my wife actually hit me up earlier saying like,

(42:26):
oh I had to order from this person. Oh and
this one's daughter, and this one's daughter and this one's daughter,
and oh you know you're and my daughter Emmy, her
friend on the softball team, is selling cookies.

Speaker 2 (42:37):
So I think my wife put in.

Speaker 1 (42:39):
Just when you thought Samoa's were the best explore wars
come out of it.

Speaker 2 (42:43):
Honestly, my family ordered at least twenty bucks. Is deep.

Speaker 1 (42:46):
So you guys are going to reap the benefits and
get chovey off of the cookies.

Speaker 2 (42:49):
I'm bringing in here it's.

Speaker 1 (42:51):
A lot of boxes and girl scouts, so anyway, they're back.
It's just there was like, whoa wait a second. They're
really good though, Yeah, they're really good.

Speaker 2 (42:57):
What your favorite? What's your favorite?

Speaker 1 (42:59):
If you had to, most by far the best until
this new one came out, like chocolate mint fins.

Speaker 2 (43:06):
I was gonna say Samoa's Grasshoppers, Samoa's are the best.

Speaker 1 (43:09):
But but everyone gets all excited about the new one,
like Stu Gotts, Oh, no, I'm just kidding.

Speaker 2 (43:15):
He's the new girls. He's the new girls. Cut Cookar's
real excited about it.

Speaker 1 (43:19):
Cook, Yeah, he cares about the Samoa's Cavino and rich
they were kind of good. We're all excited about the
new ones, the stew gots.

Speaker 4 (43:28):
Did I ever tell you guys my story about Samoa's, No,
but I love to hear it.

Speaker 2 (43:31):
I found out I.

Speaker 4 (43:32):
Was allergic to coconut for how many samoas I ate
once it was swollen up so much because I downed,
like I love those.

Speaker 1 (43:43):
Things because once you once you open the package, like, well,
I thinkure, I have to eat them all.

Speaker 4 (43:48):
I mean, and there's there's it's they're not full, but
it's not empty. You know it's not like so I'm like, yeah,
So I downed them all of a sudden. The next
morning I could not swallow. My throat was just so swell.

Speaker 1 (44:00):
He we almost lost Dan bayer Via. By the way,
that's what the tree foils is. That what they're called triftfoils.
That's why I brought those today because I have so
many coming in. I brought some red ones. Yeah, the
short bread ones I brought in today here at the studio.
I think the league liters might be some Mo's, but
I was Sam. I was Sam thin mints. Everybody else

(44:21):
I think put the thin mints in the freezer.

Speaker 2 (44:25):
And I eat grasshoppers. Who calls them grasshoppers?

Speaker 10 (44:28):
Well, when I was growing up, that style of cookie
was called a grasshopper. I don't know where it came from.
But it's like the mint and chocolate.

Speaker 1 (44:33):
Well, there's two distribution companies for the cookies, so the
different names, so people know that? Is that a Is
that a fun fact you've learned just now? So you know,
Keebler called them grasshoppers is mint and fudge.

Speaker 5 (44:44):
It was like their name.

Speaker 2 (44:45):
So it's like Kleenex for tissue.

Speaker 10 (44:47):
So what like's like saying Oh, I eat grasshoppers, but
you're You're not eating a bug, You're eating the cookie
by Keebler.

Speaker 1 (44:54):
I've only heard people say thin mints until I was
sam look it up. So fin mint's Samoa's. We know
the favorites, but this is fot you know the answer
to this? Like is it mayonnaise called different like based
on where you are in the country.

Speaker 8 (45:08):
It's best foods. The Rockies are the division line. So
it's like back east, it's Hellman's. Here it's best foods.

Speaker 1 (45:16):
Best foods may be good. You have the same thing
with Girls Scout. Do you realize on where you are
there's different names. For instance, if you look at a
thin mint, I want you to picture a thin mint
cookie right now. Some of you are picturing a solid
chocolate circle. Some of you are picturing a chocolate with
a bunch of little like dots on it, right, little dimples,
little dimples. Essentially, there's two different companies selling Girls Scoute,

(45:38):
two different bakeries, I guess you would say, and they
have slightly different names. Some people call them actually different.

Speaker 2 (45:44):
Names depending on where you live. Yeah, so it's that.

Speaker 1 (45:48):
You're all gonna get fat everywhere all the work you've
done in January, going back to the gym and eating
healthy down the drain thanks to the little kids selling cookies.
Anything else, stand down. Dan Byer said it in his update.
I wrote it down as something that made me go, hmmm,
Lebron's streak ended twenty one year run. Nothing to be
ashamed of, but pretty interesting. It makes me go, starting
from five to twenty five, he's been a starting All

(46:10):
Star all those years up until right now.

Speaker 5 (46:12):
And in the All Star this year.

Speaker 4 (46:14):
Because the game is a different format, these starters aren't
going to be going against East West. But I think
you needed that for contracts. Guys had bonuses in there
in their deals, so you still had to name like
a starting lineup.

Speaker 5 (46:27):
But it's going to be a USA versus the World format.

Speaker 4 (46:31):
Not everybody's going to be on the same team, so
it's a little funky that way by calling them starters,
but by name and by title. They had to announce
starting lineups for the All Star Games, and Lebron did
not make the cut this year.

Speaker 2 (46:43):
Crazy. Yeah, he should be really embarrassed.

Speaker 1 (46:45):
I'm kidding, You're like, wow, Man, Rearly like the best
for twenty one years. Loser by the way I saw
I found the chart. I know you're so intrigued by
this because they all look slightly different. They're called Finman's everywhere.
Both factories called them thin Min's. But when we say
samoa is, you might be like, Camino rich, do you
mean caramel delights?

Speaker 2 (47:05):
Right? Because caramel? Yeah?

Speaker 7 (47:08):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (47:08):
And then there's tag alongs and you might be like,
do you mean peanut butter patties and the other one
dose or either they could be called peanut butter sandwiches
and the trefoils, the trifoils, whatever you said. I brought
those short bread. The other company simply calls them short
bread cookies. See, so yeah, depending on where you live.
But it's that time of year, and yeah, make their

(47:30):
little dreams come true. And I always I always supporting
the girl Scouts.

Speaker 4 (47:33):
There's also a new short bread with some toffee sprinklings
if you guys had those. But it's only like you
don't get like two rolls. You don't even get one
roll of cookies.

Speaker 5 (47:44):
Shrink Flation.

Speaker 1 (47:45):
Yeah, that's exactly what it is, spot you know the
b It is shrink flation. We still have Bellinger to
talk about. You will have games to play, you.

Speaker 2 (47:54):
Avoid the Girl Scouts, that's a supermarket.

Speaker 1 (47:55):
Hell no, I always give that no hold on. I
avoid buying them, but I do make donations. I know
you think you're the only guy that does nice things.
But if I see little kids outside and they're girl
Scouts and they're not working for someone else trying to
sell me giant bars of candy, I will always donate.
I don't want the candy. I don't want the cookies.
I donate.

Speaker 2 (48:15):
That's actually one of the kinder things I've learned about
Steve Comino.

Speaker 1 (48:18):
Well, because I know you assume otherwise, because you think
you're the only great guy there ever was.

Speaker 2 (48:24):
I just assume that you didn't do those type of things.

Speaker 1 (48:26):
A lot of times I say I don't have cash,
but I'll come back and hook them up.

Speaker 2 (48:29):
Like you know when you're at a strip.

Speaker 1 (48:30):
Club and the stripper is like, would you like a dance,
and you'd do the whole like, oh I just got here,
come back later, Yeah.

Speaker 6 (48:36):
I don't have cash. Doesn't work anymore because they bust
out the car. Yeah that's right, Yeah, so I rich.
They still say that for Hobos. There's been a couple
of times I just don't want cookies. In the house
because we will eat them all instantly. So I put
the cell phone up to my ear and I pretend
like I'm on an important call with Scotch kids.

Speaker 1 (48:56):
Yeah, but I I you like some cookies about the
very important.

Speaker 2 (49:01):
I'm like, sorry, I'm on a college Actually I love
so but I care.

Speaker 8 (49:06):
Only Rich Davis gonna make a girl Scott and stripper analogy.

Speaker 2 (49:09):
Yeah, I know you know you do you avoid them
in a similar fashion. Yeah, to come back to see
you later.

Speaker 5 (49:16):
I want to jump, don't.

Speaker 1 (49:17):
I don't have cash, but you know what you do
and we'll end it on this note. As your friends,
I told you yougin to hit you up on behalf
of their kids, which, by the way, takes away from
the door to door thing I told you that kids
used to do. But whatever, I'm willing to contribute. Bring
them into your colleagues, buy them, you don't, don't stuff
your fat face with them. Bring them into work, let
everyone else enjoy them, and bring them to the you know,

(49:38):
your big super Bowl party. Be the feeld good good
time guy that brings cookies over someone else's house and
speaking to it.

Speaker 2 (49:45):
You you're the one that brought up stripper spot.

Speaker 1 (49:48):
Have you ever thought it would be a good idea
for women that dance at a club to have a
QR coat on their buttcheek.

Speaker 2 (49:54):
It's not a bad idea. I might want to do that.
Do you want another dance? Hold on? Everyone else? Just
get to tech you Why can't I click? Seriously?

Speaker 1 (50:04):
Then, if a stripper had her Venmo on the screen
right now, what's going on instead of a butterfly above
their crack? I'm just saying you don't think there's a
good marketing move there. If you're anyway, move along.

Speaker 2 (50:17):
Not a bad idea, Rich, I we should get behind it,
all right. This is like Blade Runner Dystopia re entering here.

Speaker 1 (50:24):
If a stripper had a temporary tattoo like you know
your kids have a little temporary tattoos like good and
they'll like use it for.

Speaker 2 (50:29):
Tracking, you can put a QR code.

Speaker 5 (50:32):
I hate to interrupt this. Well, look Rodney in the
Sacramento area.

Speaker 2 (50:35):
Rodney Rodney wants to talk about the Patriots and Raiders.
You've Broughtney a chance? What's up? Rodney? What up? Rodney?

Speaker 7 (50:42):
Hey, how's it going, guys? First time caller. I love
listening to you guys. I'm usually on a slope and
a dozer estimator, and you guys get me through the day.
I do have two comments and two questions. Uh, well,
gigs just brought in grill scout cookies peanut butter patties

(51:02):
for to the locker room. But you guys were talking
about the forty nine ers and their practice.

Speaker 2 (51:11):
Yeah, the practice facility next.

Speaker 1 (51:13):
Yeah, it's like an online social media viral conspiracy.

Speaker 7 (51:16):
Hey, one of the great Jonas Knox, he likes to
call it, sure nobly. So you know they're right next
to the nuclear power play up there.

Speaker 1 (51:24):
Uh.

Speaker 7 (51:24):
And then Steadham. You know, we brought him into the
NFL in the fourth round for the Patriots, and we
have no problem. We got rid of them one. We
have no problem taking them on again.

Speaker 5 (51:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (51:40):
I know, I know, I know what to say. Said, Oh,
you know a backup quarterback. You know they got a
good shot against Patriots. I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (51:47):
Said Anyways, you said nick foles social media posts. I
thought that was really funny Nick Foles.

Speaker 7 (51:52):
Yeah, when I seen it, I died laughing. Anyways, Will
Campbell man, I get it, he's a rookie and all,
but he is I mean, he's been just such an
average tackle all year. You never see Drake scrambling left.
He's always scrambling right. Why because the left side is

(52:12):
always faltering. So you know my question about Will is
you know, are we gonna keep going with this?

Speaker 2 (52:20):
Listen?

Speaker 5 (52:20):
Man, hot O line talk?

Speaker 2 (52:22):
Hot O line talk is my specialty. Listen, I think
you're doing just fun. He's I mean, the left side
could be not as strong as you want, but he's
a top two MVP.

Speaker 1 (52:32):
Candidate and he's put in big numbers. And Drake May
is elusive. He finds his way out of those situations.
I don't think the old line has been what's holding
back to Patriots in any capacity. Maybe not what your
expectation is, Rodney, but and it was on his list
when I screened that call.

Speaker 6 (52:45):
He said he wanted to ask you guys if you
thought McDaniel was a good fit in Vegas.

Speaker 2 (52:50):
I'm I'm biased. I guess I like Mike McDaniel.

Speaker 1 (52:52):
I know he's probably likes, but to me, a creative,
offensive mind, I feel like that's what look for now.

Speaker 2 (53:01):
I like Mike Ba Dan.

Speaker 6 (53:02):
I'd be good with Mendoza Miami Kid. I was thinking that,
like scarfacing Manny, Well, you know.

Speaker 1 (53:07):
What's speaking of Mendoza, Let's let's let's talk tonight for
a second. You got your national championship, Danny, here's a
good thing for you as a Raiders fan, who you
guys have alved but pretty much, I mean, you might
as well start ordering your Mendoza jerseys unless something crazy happens.

Speaker 6 (53:21):
Right, The Raiders have a suite there tonight because they
said they want to get a good look at their
future quarterback.

Speaker 1 (53:25):
And you know what, I think that's a really cool story,
a great landing spot. It's about time the Raiders are
relevant in that fashion again. Right, this is the biggest
defensive battle that Mendoz will face. Miami is by far
the best defense he's faced in college football. So I
think it'll be interesting to see how he stacks up
because how many times is it hard to assess it

(53:45):
a college quarterback because.

Speaker 2 (53:47):
They're playing defenses that they're so much weaker what they'll
ever face in the NF For the front of it,
I think he's gonna light them up tonight. We'll see.

Speaker 6 (53:53):
I'm just throwing that out speak speaking of hot O line.
Take can his O line? You know, give him time
to make the throw, so he's going to need to
make tonight.

Speaker 1 (54:01):
But you know what, Danny, it might be a good
thing for you to want to see this guy under
pressure at times. Anytime we've ever seen a quarterback just
cruise through college and it looks like like a Johnny
Man's l type where it looks like he's just playing
school yard ball, and just those guys haven't historically worked out.
So I think it would be fun to see him
with a challenge that I had a really good defense.
If he could make some plays happen, you'll see what

(54:22):
he's like with pressure.

Speaker 6 (54:23):
And then this quarterback class coming up in the draft
is a little thin on the other side of the ball.
Carson Beck, if he has a great game, he could
move himself up some draft boards.

Speaker 1 (54:32):
And your boy, believe watching Carson Beck, to me, seems
like a guy that will be a really solid backup
in the NFL. Do you see do you see a
team really putting their stake in Carson Beck.

Speaker 6 (54:42):
He's going to need some star receivers and players around him, But.

Speaker 2 (54:45):
It looks like a goofball too, like something about him.
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (54:49):
We say that about you every day, Yeah, just because
you're a goofball doesn't stop you from being like his face.

Speaker 1 (54:58):
Colin Coward, he doesn't have quarterback backs since he doesn't
have quarterback, that's not the guy from my team doesn't
have quarterback face.

Speaker 2 (55:08):
Listen, we have more coven on Rich. Yes, I was saying, Uh,
Carson Beck looks like he'd play an extra in a
beam buttead movie a.

Speaker 10 (55:16):
Skinny pete in a Broadway rendition of Breaking Bad?

Speaker 2 (55:19):
How about that?

Speaker 9 (55:20):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (55:21):
I didn't want to be mean, but he's he's got
that face.

Speaker 10 (55:23):
He's got the similar skinny pete face from Breaking Bad,
so he could do it live on stage.

Speaker 7 (55:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (55:28):
I don't think that's your quarterback in the future, but
you know what we'll see tonight. We'll see tonight and
uh we'll talk that. And I don't have baseball thought
a lot of baseball happening as well. So all that
and more convene on Rich. Next right here on Fox
Sports Radio, it is time for the three words I
dread all week long, all weekend long, as we do

(55:48):
it every Monday, last one standing.

Speaker 7 (55:51):

he truly is, like.

Speaker 2 (59:14):
You bring you a little name before? He didn't text
me on Saturday, like he waited.

Speaker 5 (59:20):
He's such a sore loser.

Speaker 4 (59:23):
And like did you hear the name when he goes, Oh,
he's got a forty nine or sort of weekend. By
the way, as a Cavino guy, I'm totally stalling for Steve.

Speaker 2 (59:30):
To come up with.

Speaker 8 (59:34):
Oh man, two teams left three two state the Packers.
We did not number three with sixty five. It's one

Speaker 2 (01:00:03):
So the last one left was the Minnesota Viking.

Speaker 5 (01:00:07):

I don't know why any one but.

Speaker 3 (01:01:41):
I love it.

Speaker 9 (01:01:41):
I would have.

Speaker 1 (01:01:44):
I would have eventually stalled. I'm gonna blame injuries for
my loss. But look at it this way. Dan Byer's
like the Dodgers, right, You gotta want to beat the guy.

Speaker 2 (01:01:53):
He's lovable.

Speaker 1 (01:01:54):
Right when nobody hates the Dodgers, man, doesn't it make
it more fun when it's someone you're trying to beat?

Speaker 5 (01:01:59):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
I was competitive. Doctor j wasn't on the list, was he? No? No, Oh,
give us a couple more. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:02:06):

toughest defense. Will see Raiders fans especially are gonna be locked. Danny,
You're gonna watch thiss like a Raiders game. Oh hell yeahude,

(01:03:29):
Not only are Raiders fans locked in? Like Danny G said,
aren't they meeting with coaches there? Like doesn't Tom Brady
have a move?

Speaker 5 (01:03:35):
He's taken meetings there with potential head coaches.

Speaker 1 (01:03:38):
They're all there watching Tom Brady to play little reindeer games,
like all right, if you were his coach, what would
you do on this second and three?

Speaker 2 (01:03:44):
Like, hey, fresh shut of downs if you were coaching him.
But he's not joking that.

Speaker 1 (01:03:49):
The report is they are all there watching and meeting
with potential coaches. Hey pressures on one baseball noe because
we're big baseball guys and we can't deny it.

Speaker 2 (01:03:58):
I love MLB. I'm a big Mets fan.

Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
Can he knows the Yankees fan, Danny or Dodgers guy,
there's not a show that embraces baseball.

Speaker 2 (01:04:03):
More than we do.

Speaker 1 (01:04:05):
Props to the odd couple. Rob loves his baseball for sure.
I mean that is true, he is the MLB bro.
But still, besides him, I feel like this Cody Bellinger piece,
wherever it falls to me, is so telling, meaning the
Mets who let a few good players go. But the
Mets were all about a culture change, right, Get rid
of Nemo, get rid of McNeil, get rid of Alonzo,

(01:04:26):
But you forget they bring in Polanko, Simeon, now Bobashett.
If the Mets get Bellinger, then they're competing. I think
you look at it as like they're trying to compete
with the Dodgers, who clearly have a step up on everyone.
But if the Mets got Bellinger, the Mets look like
that's a pretty good line up.

Speaker 2 (01:04:42):
If you told me your line up at Lindor.

Speaker 1 (01:04:44):
Soto, Bellinger, Boshett, vient Dos, Polancos, Marcus Simeon. If he
doesn't go to Mets, if he goes to the Yankees,
then the Yankees retain a guy that they wanted. But
a yeah, they don't want to lose. But if the
Yankees don't get Bellinger, the conflict is they want seven years.
Teams like the Yankees only want to give them five,
but Bellinger.

Speaker 2 (01:05:03):
It's what's interesting to me is that the Yankees have
historically been known as the team that gets the guy.

Speaker 1 (01:05:08):
If the Yankees don't get Bellinger, that means the Yankees
have put up nothing in the offseason, and that's not
the Yankee fans don't like that. You have to ask
yourself this, With the Dodgers making these moves, and they're
clearly the team to beat, right, whoever gets Bellinger is
truly proving to everybody that they're in it to compete
and they really want to win. Someone hass that the

(01:05:29):
Mets is that the Yankees. We're gonna find out saying
someone he's the difference making, not saying someone beats the Dodgers.
But whoever gets Bellinger is really saying, we're willing to
pay this guy, probably overpaying for seven years. We're willing
to do everything we can to compete with the Dodgers.
And you know what I heard, The Phillies have entered
the conversation. The Phillies have entered the conversation for Bellinger.
But Yankees, Blue Jays, Mets teams are teams are just

(01:05:50):
trying to get a sniff of what the Dodgers have, right,
and whoever fails on this just finds themselves like, well,
let's see now, No, this is the difference maker. He's
the difference maker. We'll see what happens. Enjoy the game
tonight and join us tomorrow for show Boy Mahomes trivia perfect.

Speaker 2 (01:06:07):
We'll see guys, then, are you and the Promised Land? Goodbye, guys.
