Yo Valenzuela was sweet. We saw what he did for
the Dodgers and the franchise. But Fernando Mania is gonna
do big things, not only for college football, but for
Danny Cheese Raid as well. You gotta look at it
this way, unless you are a Miami fan. The world

(02:20):
had to just feel really good for this kid last night,
Like it's a feel good story. In fact, Rich is
a Miami sound Machine fan. I love Gloria est All.
I just really do think that it's hard to say
you didn't enjoy last night. Who on Earth other than
Miami fans were saying like, yeah, I really want this
story to end poorly. It was a great story, his mom,

(02:43):
his family there, like the dive on the quarterback sneak
that should have been stopped at the five, and he
he dives, And I have a theory that that still
image of him diving over the goal line mark my words,
within a decade will be a statue in the end.
I would not be the still images are masterful, but

(03:03):
the fight and the fury, the fortitude to just knock
people over and get to the end zone.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Could be like that logo could be a logo for him.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Coming could be yeah, oh yeah, that could be a
logo if he went into the merch world. But he's
a really special guy. He's really authentic, really genuine, and
he took the world by storm. So I agree with Rich.
Unless you're a Miami fan, I don't know how you
were rooting against this dude because he's so damn likable
and what a great storyline. It's lightning in a bottle.
Once once in a while there's a story that sweeps

(03:36):
the nation like a like a insanity and this is
that moment. Look, I'm not faking the funk. I'm not
a big college football fan. I'm just not. I grew
up in New Jersey and it wasn't a lot of
college football influence. We had the Jets, we had the Giants,
the Yankees, Mets, Islanders Devils. You know, we didn't have
college football to really care about. So I didn't grow

(03:56):
up caring that much about college football. It wasn't until
I went to college and I overlapped one year at
Syracuse with Donovan McNabb and I was like, all right,
college football got into it for a minute, and since
have casually followed. But I always watched the championships in
the playoffs. But to bring it to everyone's attention to
the point where my parents were tuned in, my daughter

(04:20):
and all her friends are tuned in, everybody was tuned
in to see if this dude came through. And you
know what came down to the very end, which made
it even more exciting. So props to everybody. It was
a great night, a great game. And Fernando Mania is real.
And the first question we've already hit on so much.
What was your favorite storyline of the whole season? What
was your favorite thing that stood out? His connection with

(04:42):
his mom, how he praises Jesus, how he's so grateful
his likability, How such a good religious boy is about
to go to Sin City. That's another funnyest story. What
about in the if you haven't read the letter, the
fact that they never won, If you haven't read the
letter that his gave to him before the Heisman, when

(05:03):
you get a chance read it, there's a part. The
whole thing will make you cry as a grown man.
You will cry reading this letter from Fernando's mom to him.
But there's a part in the letter where they talk
about how she was a young mom and they boldly
moved to the northeast, to the Boston area, and then
when they moved back to Miami. The one thing that
Fernando took with him was his admiration of Tom Brady.

(05:26):
And to think Tom Brady's right there, it's gonna be
his future boss. A movie it's there is a movie
you and I discussed before the show. What comes first?
The Fernando movie or the statue in Indiana's another question
in itself. What up Danny g that insane touchdown? Running
he jukes the defenders, two of them, and then when
he gets spun around and he puts his arm down

(05:46):
on the turf before the dive. That's what seemed like
a movie to me, Like that whole play was like
the end of his movie. Yeah, it really was. When
you think about the plotline, like Young Mom, this really
could be like a TV movie or a legit movie
where like Young Mom moves to Boston back to Miami,
she comes down with a disease, a terrible disease. She

(06:07):
has ms. The Miami doesn't want him because he's not
a big enough recruit. The whole story leting go. Yeah,
he's overlooked. He beats that back to beating Miami, like
everything about this story, while his dad sits by his
mom's side and they cheer on. And let's not forget
the little brother also on the team, but he not anymore. Yeah,

(06:29):
he entered the transfer portal as of today, and Roberto
Mendoza is the side story. He wins, but he's now
looking for other opportunities, I guess.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
And Rich pointed out on yesterday's show that Miami's defense
no joke. That was going to be a big test
for him, and he got bloodied.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
He was bleeding, you know, that cheap hit under the helmet,
little little how do you do after it was clear
he didn't have the ball anymore, very easily could have
been a personal foul. They didn't call it, But I
thought in that moment, the fact that he kept his cool,
he didn't try to fight back, didn't go with the
reps like come on, flag, like he's a tough s ob,
this kid, And because he's such an aw shucks religious boy,

(07:07):
you don't realize he's six five to use the swear word.
Last night he was asked about it. My kids, My
kids are so scared to say any curse words that
I'll say something like you could say it, go ahead.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
He was asking about, Hey, you used the use some
curse words. How do you feel about that.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
He dropped a curseword there at the end, something you
don't do very often.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Yeah, I say, overwhelmed by emotion and it's the pinnacle peak.
It's like all season when we've you know, sometimes I've
had these cookie cutter responses in media trained response where
it's been like, oh, onto the next game, onto the
next play, and now.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
We did it.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
We did it, so at that point, I think it
was only fitting to kind of, you know, open the
floodgates per se, probably break my stereotype.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
He's been around coach sing too long.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
That's an ex rated mouth. I gotta love this kid's honesty,
but it's his authenticity, the fact that he's just such
a genuine, wholesome kid that makes him lovable. And his
relationship with his mom is really heart tugging. But I
think the coolest part of the story. Am I the
only one that tied that to Tom Brady? What's the
Tom Brady tie? Mendoza goes, let's eff.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
And go oh.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
He also said let's flip and go too before like
who's who's his future bosson Hero Tom Tom Brady? What's
Tom's little segment and whole thing.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
I didn't even think about that.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Yeah, I thought that was like his little subconscious like yeah, boss,
But it's also the rally cry of every young person.
Young person, let's go. You'd be like, hey, dude, you
want to go seven to eleven?

Speaker 2 (08:36):
Let's go.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
I mean that's just the response. Now, thinking about going
to Chipola, what he goes, think, let's go, let's effen go.
Every young kid with broccoli hair says that, so every
young Alpaca boy says the same thing. But you're right, Rich,
that's a good point. But I think the best storyline
is the fact that this team never won. They went
from worse to first, and he did it with a

(08:58):
kid who was overlooked by Miami. And he comes back
to his hometown, his home school that he rooted for,
to beat them on their field where he grew up.
I think that part of it, the full circle f
you revenge was handled so masterfully and classy, and I
love that about the kid. Well, it's not like Carson

(09:19):
Beck could have won. Too ugly quarterback face. He does
not have. I don't think he's that ugly. He looks
like a Yeah, he looks like the son of Igor. Yes,
my son. Well, because he played well, he lost. I
don't mean to be rude, but of course this sounds
very rude. When he got hit pretty hard last night,
he popped up, I'm like, I don't know if you
would know if he had a concussion because his regular
face looks dazy, like Riches being when he popped up.

(09:44):
I'm like, I don't know if he's okay because he
looks like he got punch in the face every second
rich subscribes to the Colin count Herd I did monthly
and the newsletter. You have theory that you have to
have quarterback face to truly make it stars. I also think,
how's that dufe is gonna lead? There's an interesting storyline
that wasn't spoken about a lot. I mean, his background
and his ethnicity was spoken of a lot. But how

(10:08):
conflicted Miami itself must have felt when there's such a
large Cuban community and population in Miami. You know that
there's so many Cuban fans wanting to see Miami win,
but also pulling for their kid, who they have to
be rooting for personally, because how do you not love
the fact that he has four grandparents from Cuba and

(10:31):
he's such a proud Cuban kid. It's like you and
there's a Mexican fighter, Yeah, but you like the opponent.
You're like, oh, but even more so I think in
this case, because there's so many conflicted Cuban fans in
Miami right now, that are like, damn, we wanted Miami
to win, but we're so happy for that kid. It's
such an unbelievable full circle f you revenge story of

(10:55):
fortitude and overcoming and being overlooked. There has to be
a movie made. And I say it again, I'm a
sports fan, but I'm not the biggest college football fan.
And man, was I taken by this whole thing. And
that's the beauty of it. He pulled me in. And
maybe I'm a fan moving forward, who knows, but that
was great. The game was amazing last night. We want
to know what storyline stood out to you the most

(11:17):
and what stood out to you the most from this season?
What's up?

Speaker 2 (11:21):
dB?

Speaker 4 (11:21):
I got a question for you, guys. I don't want
Iowa Sam. It's kind of Iowa Sam related because is
there a border or a line where you can't love
Indiana's story? So I'm an Ohio State football fan, so
I was not wrapped up in the Indiana.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
Oh AGAINN I was gonna say, unless you go to
Miami or if you're a conference guy and you're like,
you know, screwing the shure.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
Yeah, but this guy as an Iowa fan. But also
I would say in the same breath a college football fan.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
Right. The group text last night was just it was non.

Speaker 4 (11:55):
Stop with Sam being excited about this yeah, and you
know and taking up in you know, taking up for
this Indiana team. And I just find it interesting because
because of this team that I root for is a rival.

Speaker 5 (12:11):
And yeah, but I mean, like, listen, Indiana has no history.
They have a history of losing, Like they were never
pushing bag to everyone in college football. Like Indiana doesn't
even have a rival with Notre Dame. Notre Dame is
like Washington d C. Within the state of Indiana, and
then there's everything else like Notre Dame. You think of
a Notre Dame, You're like, where's Notre Dame. Oh, it's
it's in Indiana. But then you don't think you think

(12:32):
of the state of Indiana. You don't even think of
like the Hoosier is even existing on the football field.
You know, they have no history. So for them to
go sixteen, you know, it's like it's like impossible.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Saw those images from two years ago when there's like
twelve people in the stands. You know, when you filled
out our Fox Sports Radio bracket, you know, you might
not think of a Dan Byer guy. But I picked
Ohio State because I was like, you know what, I
thought this little fun story would end. And I thought, like, Dan,
probably that back to reality, because I remember when they
won in the in the conference championship, you said, all right,

(13:02):
Ice Box, I.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
Thought that that was Indiana super Bowl. In fact, I
am on record of saying that there was a zero
point zero percent chance that Indiana would win the College
Football National Championship because everything had gone right for them.
The Mendoza wins their Big Ten champs, They're undefeated, and
I did not think that Indiana or any other school

(13:24):
would be able to have all of that come to
them at this point.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
And it is.

Speaker 4 (13:28):
It is an amazing story, and I understand how ninety
eight percent of America can get behind the story. But
to your point about Miami fans weren't behind it last night.
You know, as an Ohio State fan, I didn't care
who won.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
They lost.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
The Buckeyes lost to Miami and Indiana beat them in
the Big Ten title game. There wasn't a Big Ten
allegiance that I was behind. And I'm just wondering if
maybe it only expands to two, maybe it's only to
that part.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
I'm there's only in these mess what would you call them,
a kevino in the day be the monocultural cultural events, right,
monoculture events where everyone sort of locked in. There's always
gonna be some people that are the outliers, Like, yeah,
I'm not really about this. There could be some When
Game of Thrones the finalees on, you're always gonna have
the one friend that's never watched nobody.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
I think Dan has a Valorie.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
But but I think there's always gonna be like a, yeah,
I took my daughter to the Taylor Shift Erastur, and
someone's always gonna be like, guess what my daughter does?
Would like tailor swift. But I think there's someone on
the outside looking at Let's just you know, allegiance aside.
A great story is a great story, and that's exactly
what this is. And Sam sort of touched on that
when you think of Indiana, you don't think of the

(14:38):
football team. I think, and all of a sudden they're
on top of the world. Yeah, I think that there
there are always going to be haters for some reason.
But I just was surprised at how someone like Sam,
who lives and dies by Iowa football was also taken
up into the world where Sam, what was it about
the story that that you said, you know what, screw

(14:58):
my allegiance? I really like what story.

Speaker 5 (15:01):
Like my me being a fan of Iowa, Like it
just does. It's just on its own, it exists in
its own like universe. Like it doesn't because like Iowa
and Indiana don't have a rivalry either, Like there's really
no history between the two teams.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
They play in the same conference.

Speaker 5 (15:16):
So like for me, I don't let like my rooting
interests like become rose colored glasses or any kind of
like it does. I don't want it to change my
consciousness and my perception of something. This is a great
story no matter who you root for, Like who is
Indiana football's on field rivalry, Like it'd be Purdue, Like
they're the ones who are probably frustrated right now. But
as an Iowa fan, I'm looking at I'm looking one.

(15:38):
I'm looking at this in Iowa fans, I'm sure frustrated.
A lot of teams are frustrated seeing Indiana climb from
two years.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
In and how much tougher the mountain, How much tougher
is it to build a college program than an NFL program.
You could turn around an NFL program in a couple
of years. A college program. I think the landscape right
now it makes it. It makes it easier. But historically,
like you really have a hard time.

Speaker 5 (15:57):
History, like fifteen years ago, it would take three to
five years just to get maybe get to like a
bowl game. But this the way how he's done. With
the transfer portal guys coming from James Madison and then
all the money that's flowed in from like Mark Cuban
into the program and into Indiana Sports, they're able to
make this h This is why this story is possible
because of the landscape of college football right now.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
Yeah, yeah, pretty amazing. You could say we're prisoners of
the moment, but I think it's just an amazing story.
It was so many different levels, and I just love
the fu side of it because again he was overlooked
the Loo, They overlooked him as a little kid, and
he came back and won in Miami. To me, it's
just like the perfect story and you will get that movie.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
What up? Sam?

Speaker 5 (16:36):
Now Indiana has gone the distance. They've won a national
championship there on top of the world. They're now the
hunted and I'm sure other Big Ten teams are like,
all right.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
We've had enough of you now to start beating you,
so we'll say no moving forward, I couldn't care less
about it.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
In the if Indiana is like another National Champion contender,
I'll be like, screw.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
That should take him down.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
This is an isolated moment. We'll be glued to see
what he does in the NFL because that's the next
story line there for sure, as Fernando Mania sweeps the nation.
So we asked you Fox Sports Radio, what's the favorite storyline?
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox and congratulations again,
it was a great night, and in total Covino and
Rich style, we have a few other observations about last

(17:16):
night that I'm certain nobody else is talking about. Well,
we're going to get to that, but any final thought, dab,
I just wanted to say on this whole thing and
to kind of put a bow on it again, how
crazy is it that the team that has the Heisman
Trophy winner, the Big Ten champion, the only undefeated team.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
And the number one next to their name favor by
eight and a half is the Cinderella story right? Like everything,
the better record they beat everybody then lost anyone that
the Heighstcho Trophy winning quarterback. And then it's against Miami,
who we think of as the you. But if we
were to really look at Miami, last team in and

(17:55):
an at large bid had to play on the road
in their first playoffs.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
The question if they should even be in the playoff?

Speaker 4 (18:01):
Yes, yes, knocks off defending national champion, wins in dramatic
fashion against the other feel good story like there was
there was enough, Like if it wasn't Miami, if that
was Wake Forest or something like that, maybe we're feeling
different and maybe we're looking at Indiana differently, but just
even the brand of Miami up against Indiana when Indiana
had all of these advantages or more successes than the

(18:25):
Kinges did. I still think going into last night, we're like, man,
what a what a story of those feel good kids?
I think from the loser state.

Speaker 5 (18:32):
Very rarely do we root on people who have that
much going for him. But it's because for decades of
their existence they were nothing.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
They were losers.

Speaker 5 (18:40):
So it's like they saved up their Heisman winner, their
Rosebell championship, their national championship, all in one year. It's
all coming out like a like a bomb of confetti
and you're like, this doesn't seem real.

Speaker 4 (18:50):
And you guys hit on it, like Mendoza so likable signetti.
As for his shocking as his comments were, when he's
gotten the job, he's even backed off and explained kind
of why took that tone of Google me, and you know,
he said he needed people to recognize. But when you've
heard him over the you know, even throughout this season,
when you get to know him more and more, he's

(19:10):
more different than the guy that you thought that was
the Google me, I Win guy. And so you guys
talk about likability a lot, and I think that there
was a lot to like about Indiana just because of
a couple of personalities that they have.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
And the team first monte they lived by and I
believe that, and I think that's why, Yep, it captured
us because it's authentic, it's real, nothing felt forced. I
believe everything Fernando says and what the team lives for
and stands for. I believe they put team first, and again,

(19:43):
props to them. But there's two other observations we got
to get to. And let's just say this for now.
If you're unaware of the next two observations. It just
goes to show you how far out of the loop
you really are. There's a test coming up. We're gonna
do a test here in Fox Sports Radio. It's the
are you in the loop or you lost in reality?

(20:04):
And to answer your question, Rich, which comes first? I'm
going statue first, because sometimes it takes long to put
out a movie, a decent movie. I wouldn't be shocked
if in the next budge, in the next cast thing,
in the next handful of years, if they outside the
stadium have that diving statue. It's their greatest moment, their
only moment. I think you lean into that. Hey we
just won, you know, this is our moment. There's that statue.

(20:28):
The image is already iconic. Who said it you? Danny
g That could be his logoving forward. I agree. I
think they jump on that statue and ride that burst,
ride this wave of awesome. And I think the statue
comes before the movie. So other observations that are gonna
be a test of how in or out of the
loop you are. We get to that next. But one

(20:48):
last little question. Our video guy Spot asked us this morning,
when was the last time you got pulled into something
you were a casual viewer of. Like, if you're a
casual football fan, we're like, was it Tim Tebow? Was
it Johnny Menzel? Wasn't Clark swept PSI Caitlyn Clark with
the WNBA is a great answer, Kaitlyn, because I think
I don't think I ever watched a women's basketball game

(21:08):
until kayle. A lot of people it would be like
Jake Paul fighting Mike Tyson or something like that if
you're not a fight fan. I happened to be a
fight fan, but that would be an answer for a
lot of people. I'm sure college football, I feel like
there's been guys that have really captivated us, and I
think Johnny football insanity. I mentioned li insanity in basketball
for a second. There are stories that just you have

(21:29):
to watch. Just swept the nation and everybody took note.
Like Rich said, we live in a world where monoculture
is no longer a thing. Everybody has their own algorithm,
everybody's in their own lane, but everybody was tuned in
last night to see what this team and what this
kid did. My mom hit me up, Danny game, Mom
hit me up. You know my mom's a Raiders fan.
Like you, and she's like, Ritchie, can you please take

(21:49):
me to a Raiders game next year so I could
see Fernando. My mom's sing an Appa over the phone.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
Oh that's why Mark Davis was standing in the end
zone prior to the game watching Fernando workout and he
was drooling. Literally.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
It's honestly, it's just a cool story. You gotta love it.
And if you don't, like Dampire said, it's either because
you're a Miami fan you have a strong conference tie,
or he's just like yeah. But Fernando himself, it's a
likable dude. There's something very special about that kid. Yes, agreed,
So all right, next we get to the two observations
we made that if you didn't observe again this also

(22:24):
happened last night. Well we'll get to those next. We'll
talk a little baseball, little conference championships in NFL action
all coming up next right here, covinon rich on Fox
Sports Radio. Let's go. There are two things that happened
last night in the National Championship game that had nothing
to do with Fernando, had nothing to do with Miami's

(22:47):
tough defense, had nothing to do with Signetti. Your coaches
or anyway. It just has nothing to do with the game.
Two things, and these will determine how in or out
of the loop you are with sort of what's going
on in the world of social media and life pop culture, really,
what the buzz is with the weien Eles and anyone

(23:09):
living some part of their life on the internet, Like
you said, Rich, Now, the first one. There's this lovable
black girl on TikTok. Her name is Romeo, and her
whole shtick is she makes jingles. And she made a
jingle for Doctor Pepper and it went viral on TikTok

(23:30):
and social media and they went like this to the
point where millions and millions of people were hitting up
Doctor Pepper like it was a big deal. Yeah, Doctor Pep,
baby is good. And so it went so viral that
they were demanding that Doctor Pepper take note and listen
and pay this woman. Well, here's her the original cut.

Speaker 5 (23:51):
Do you want to hear her? The original? And then
then the commercial? Yeah, the original question, Yeah, here we go.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
This is her on TikTok. I have a theme song
for Doctor Pepper and it goes like this, Dr Pepper
bay Bee is good and nice and again she wasn't
super popular for this. She did this and it organically hit,
and it took social media by storm, where everyone started

(24:17):
remixing it, making their own little commercials about it.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
And my kids were calling her doctor Pepper girl.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
Yeah, if you didn't know it, man, you must live
under a rock. I found myself pay attention and I'm
not gonna judge you, but I am. But I'm also
here to say, well, then that's why you got Covino
and Rich to do this research. We want to keep
you a little. But I found myself walking around my
house being like, doctor Pepper, baby, it's good and nice,
Like you find yourself singing it, and you're like, well,

(24:44):
is doctor Pepper gonna do quote the right thing? It
became a big time debate of why isn't doctor Pepper
acknowledging this. They're not doing it because of X Y
and Zee, and even I was saying, as much as
I like this jingle, doctor Pepper does have to do anything.
They don't have to pay anybody. They're already getting all
this advertising, free advertising on social media, and maybe they

(25:07):
don't want a jingle, Maybe they don't like a jingle.
They shouldn't be forced to do anything. But if they did,
what a cool story? And you were thinking not, maybe
it doesn't go along with their new ad campaign. There
could be reasons why they do or don't do this.
But you're watching the National Championship last night, the first
commercial break, I'm in earshot and I'm like, oh my god,

(25:29):
what did I just hear? Dr Pepper Bay Bee is
good and Nast the Doctor Peper Bay Bet Doctor Pepper
Bay and Nast And it took social media by storm. Sure, Fernando, Indiana, Miami.

(25:50):
All that was trending, But you know what else is trending?
Dr Pepper and Doctor Pepper Girl. Because everybody who lives
a social media lifeer has even the smallest footprint, probably
caught wind of this buzz and this story and this
girl and everybody else remixing that jingle and everybody seemed
to like it. And Doctor Pepper did the right thing.
They let it simmer, they let it sit, and bam,

(26:12):
when millions were watching the Championship last night, they snuck
that in and everybody started trending on it again. So
they capitalized twice. They played it perfect and they did
the right thing. And my guess is they paid this
social media influenced girl two hundred fifty I guess. My
guess is two hundred fifty. My guess is like twenty

(26:34):
five thousand dollars because she's gonna hit the late night
circuits in the morning shows and they're gonna ask her
and she doesn't want to say something that makes Doctor
Pepper look like Chief Skates. I think it opens up
their brand to a whole different demographic and it makes
it kind of cool. And I think you'll probably see
more ads on Super Bowl? Aren't you the guy that
loves to say, Hey, let me ask of ai? You

(26:55):
know what jingle singers make? You could sell a national
ad campaign and it usually goes for jingle singers doing
the late night circuit. No, but that doesn't get paid.
You don't get this was a bigger story. Nobody knows
jingle singers. What jingle singers? Do?

Speaker 2 (27:07):
You know?

Speaker 1 (27:08):
But why would they just willy nilly? Just I know Pharrell?
Did you think Pharrell works for cheap? Farrell's made some
popular jingles. Barry Manilow has made some popular jingles. Look
it up. You think he got paid peanuts for that?

Speaker 2 (27:20):
But they also had to pay for the rights to
the jingle rich, So yeah, you know what I mean,
She's not just being paid for her amazing voice.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
And it was a big story, and and they had
the pressures of social media being like pay this girl.
I don't know if they were gonna cheap that on her,
but you and I, but it was cool to see
you and I are way apart on this.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
I think.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
That's what I say. I think two hundred and fifty
thousand dollars. We're talking about a multi billion dollar company.
I say twenty five thousand dollars. I think maybe fifty
maybe fifty by saying we own that, we own your jingle.
Do you think to some random TikTok girl, why, what
would make you think they'd randomly be like, here's a
million dollars for the new jingle moving forward that they
could potentially use for the Super Bowl. I think is

(28:03):
a big deal. It's ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
But hey, maybe gat somebody almost paid one hundred thousand
dollars for a cheeto. Yeah, I'm King of the Ball
and Golden Show. Yeah yeah, a Cheetoh sold for one
hundred thousand dollars. And so that was observation number one.
We said, there's two tests of whether or not you're
in the social media algorithm annoyingly.

Speaker 1 (28:22):
By the way, to really put this in perspective, my
mom knew of this story. So if my seventy something
year old mom knew of this story and you don't, man,
you're out of a loop. Bro Doctor Pepper, baby Girl
number one, the other one. I don't think your mom's
on the loop. Butt In the fourth quarter, they do
it close up of a young woman in the crowd,

(28:42):
and every guy's like, oh, I know who that is
a lot of wives and girlfriends are like getting a
side eye, like whoa who is that?

Speaker 2 (28:53):
How do you know her?

Speaker 1 (28:55):
She looks familiar, not that familiar. She has clothes on
porn actress Abella Danger, who is actually even former for
I'm sorry former who's actually an enrolled So it's never
former if it lives forever, Danny When when when a
port star is like, I don't do that anymore.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
It's like.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
People don't click on a clip that's new. That's a
timeless point. Is her face is on national television last night,
It's on our YouTube page as we speak, and Covino
and Rich FSR every well, I would say, every but
Coveno is like, never heard of her. I gotta be honest.

(29:36):
I'm not saying I'm cool or righteous or better than
anybody for not knowing yours righteous as f Nanda Mendoza.
In this moment, the only Danger I know is Carlos Danger.
Shout out to Anthony Wiener. I don't know a Bella Danger.
I never heard of her ever in my life.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
This is not the first time she's been spotted in
a car.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
This is. It goes to show me how perverted and
demented the mass the majority of Americans and people are.
If you see her and you're like, yeah, I know
who she is, I agree with your girlfriends giving you
SINEI you pervert. She's got to know her from anybody.
She's got a distinct look. She's not the most conventionally
like super high, but we'm that. I'm oblivious to porn.

(30:13):
And I don't know who the stars are. Ne's the stars,
but are stars. I don't know who she is. I
I just have to be honest. So I know who
the jingle woman is and I love that Doctor Pepper story,
but I have no idea who Ella Danger is. And
I'm kind of proud about it. Listen, I'm not saying

(30:35):
I'm like some fan of this girl, but I would
imagine a lot of men have been like, oh, I
know the name, or I've seen her face or more
point is, it was trending last night, and it was
funny how with such a device of like, don't know
what you're talking about. So this morning, to just prove
my point, when Kevino and I were doing our Patreon
where we, you know, get a little poor raw, I

(30:57):
was like, Cavino, right now, do a search of the
most popular adult film stars of twenty twenty six, number
one somehow, And it wasn't a list made after last night.
She's there. Might not be your style, but she's there.
So that and Doctor Pepper Girl. Oh and there's a
third runner up, the return of the World's Most Interesting Man.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
He was there.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
That was a great story. All right, let's go to
Dan Buyer for an update. D be what's going on, buddy?

Speaker 4 (31:21):
All right, fellas, we've got some news just in from
the NFL. NFL Network is reporting that former Dolphins head
coach Mike McDaniel has withdrawn his name from consideration for
the Browns head coaching vacancy. McDaniel's still a candidate, possibly
in Las Vegas and in Baltimore. But the report says
he was set to interview in person with the Browns tomorrow,
but that will not be happening as Mike McDaniel doesn't

(31:43):
want the Browns job.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
dB.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
I saw speculation it could be fake internet stuff, because
that's half the stuff I see. Anyway, McDaniel something about
having a place near Tampa, and Tampa's in the mix
for some type of position.

Speaker 4 (31:54):
Have you seen that interesting? Well, yeah, they're looking for
offensive coordinator. Tampa hire Danny Smith to be their special
teams coordinator today. But McDaniel's up for head coaching jobs,
and honestly, with Buffalo being open as well, he could
be a candidate for that job.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (32:10):
That would be the thing about McDaniel is they do
run the ball. The Kyle Shanahan tree isn't just always
about quarterbacks. It's also about running the football, and that
could fit well in Buffalo with Alan and Cook.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
Right now, if you have Alan and Cook. I'm a
McDaniel fan, Yes, admittedly, so I think he could work
wonders with Alan and Cook. I just don't know if
Buffalo takes that chance.

Speaker 4 (32:31):
Yeah, absolutely, we shall see. Speaking of Buffalo, their offensive
coordinator right now is Joe Brady. He's interviewing with the
Cardinals for their head coaching vacancy. Today, John Harbaugh introduced
by the Giants. He's getting a five year deal to
be their head coach. Titans gave Robert Salah a five
year deal to lead the Titans.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
Time for our tirerack. Play of the day. The play
of the year in college football happened last night on
fourth and five. I was all righty to take the staff.
He takes that, he looks, he looks, he throws the
football and he runs it. No, he runs it and
he ties.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
For the end zone?

Speaker 1 (33:08):
Does he get it? In tounstone, Bano Mendoza runs the football.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
Head score.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
Twelve yards play Bernando Mendoza, tremendous fake and then he
runs it there man. That was courtesy of Don Fisher
from Learfield. All right, proved how tough he was last night.
I'll do down at him and it was an unbelievable run.
You know, to quote remember Grilla Monsoon in wrestling in
the eighties. Yeah, the intestinal fortitude that Mendoza showed in

(33:42):
that moment, Like I almost felt like, are you trying
to say he's no ham and Egger, He's no Hammenegger.
This is a guy that he went. It was like
end zone or buster him. He was not getting knocked out.
It was are you saying the cream will rise to
the top, And he was the cream. He was the
cream last night three six. So it was a wonderful night,

(34:03):
a lot of fun, unless, of course, you're a Miami guy.
But they played great too.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
Man.

Speaker 1 (34:08):
He brought it down to the very end. So props
to Miami and props to Fernando and the Hoosiers were
pulling so many casual fans into the game last night.
Makes me excited to see him as a raider for sure.
And the other two storylines or three, because we said
the most interesting man in the world came back. He
had to come back last night. That was fun. The

(34:29):
Doctor Pepper girl got her flowers and got a national
campaign which started as just a viral jingle on social media.
She made it to the big time yesterday and I
bet she got paid. By the way, I mentioned that
Barry Manilo made a few jingles. You know what jingles?
He wrote, Barry Manilo did like something like honestly, something
that says stuck on band Aid. It's like a good neighbor,

(34:54):
like a good neighbors, stay farmit. That's Barry Manilo bro
And Forrell Williams, I mentioned him too and people were like,
which one did he do?

Speaker 2 (35:01):
He did?

Speaker 1 (35:01):
I'm loving it dot dot da And I'm telling you
if Doctor Pepper want want to continue this great story
and this good vibe, they had to pay this girl
well you know who made a lot of money and
they were a jingle singer. What TV sitcom star was
a jingle writer and he had a beech front house
two and a half men. Yeah, Charlie Harper, Charlie Sheen's

(35:22):
character winning. Remember he was a jingle He was a
jingle writer and had like a Malibu beach house. So
maybe they do Uncle Joey and Uncle Jesse or Uncle
Jes David Well. Jesse was also an exterminator. He dabbled
in a lot of things. He was also in Jesse
and the Rippers. Yeah, And the other side stories were
the porn star that happened to be there, a bella

(35:45):
danger who went viral and now she's mad at ESPN
because she said she didn't want to be on camera.
But it seemed like the world. It seemed like everybody
is just filled with smut. Your brains are filled with smut.
Because it seemed like the whole world knew who she was,
and I was like, I don't know who she is.

Speaker 2 (35:59):
Who the hell is that?

Speaker 1 (36:00):
Righteous Steve Kevino, I really didn't. I didn't know who
she was. Has been going to mass with friends. Hey,
I'm a Fernando Mendoza kind of guy. I bet you
he don't know who she is. Nice to meet the
young lady. If you don't know at least one of
those side stories, you are way out of the loop.
And she'd be writing us thank you letters. All right, Hey,
more Covino and Rich We got a little baseball we're

(36:21):
going to talk about. Plus, of course we got Mahomes,
Showtime Trivia and Covino this weekend. Is there a storyline
that just catches you as far as the conference championships?
Do we need to start making storylines to make it
a little more interesting? Because'm feeling a little lull. I
gotta ask, do you think that Agnatha, Bjorn, Benny and

(36:46):
Annie are happy? I bet they are. You're wondering, who
the hell are those people? Are? They porn stars. No,
they were not shown last night. Those are the four
very much alive members of ABBA, and I cully imagine
they're seeing like Spotify and Apple Music spikes because of
Fernando Mendoza. I mean, without question, they probably love this kid.

(37:07):
Absolutely No. Two of Rich's favorite things, porn and Abba.
What a show. And now that Indiana has won the title,
be sure to check out the final leader board for
the Fox Sports Radio College Football Playoff Bracket Challenge. Four
listeners in the bracket challenge had perfect brackets. Wow per
Henning stop mister perfect. And winning the host standings was

(37:29):
Kerry Rhodes, who had only one incorrect pick in the
first round and at Indiana beating Miami in the championship game.
Congrats to Kerry and the four listeners with perfect brackets.
Visit Fox Sports Radio dot com to check out the
final leader board. Yeah, Kerry Roads, that's good, dude, right there,
Damn Bayer, he's a really really nice guy. You give
him a little pat on the back for that, you were, dude,

(37:51):
Kerry Rhoads almost a perfect college bracket.

Speaker 4 (37:54):
I'll tell you what, Kerrie, Well, he knows football. He
knows how to pick games. And then he tells you
when he gets some rights. That's my favorite thing with carry.
I'll always get it, like when the remember when the
Bills were four to ozho and New England went and
beat him on Prime Time. Carrie called that like four
days prior, and I would get it and I told
you so, But I told you so. But he knows

(38:15):
his football for sure.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
Have a question, would this be in bad taste or not?
Other than the NFL playoffs and the Super Bowl And
before you know it, pitchers and catchers report, and then
we get in baseball mode and NBA gets next level.
You skip the World Baseball Classic WBC. Yep, I mean,
like I don't care about your wife or girlfriend. Might
it's award season, right like Oscars, Grammys, These award shows

(38:40):
happen around this time of year, right.

Speaker 2 (38:42):
Yeah, absolutely would be in bad.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
Taste if we did like our own little covenient Rich
Awards for the worst takes of the year and just
sort of went back to see what we all thought,
even other shows on the network and even other hosts,
was that rude?

Speaker 2 (38:55):
Was that funny?

Speaker 4 (38:56):
If you do the research, Rich is gonna say it
sounds like a lot more work for Danny g and
if all.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
I mean, I've had some terrible take. Let's pull video video.

Speaker 2 (39:04):
Of them too.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
Yeah, let's spot, hey, spot, I have a homework assignment. No,
because I just I find it funny that, for instance,
people love to screenshot people's bad takes. And I think
even Collins said something about who cares that Indiana a
year ago and our pal VJ on the weekends. Internally
around here, people are throwing around one of his tweets

(39:26):
where mid season he's like this forrin In the Mendoza
guy and his team going nowhere, Like, do you think
it's fun to expose those or in bad taste?

Speaker 2 (39:36):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (39:36):
I said to you guys, I said Indiana at zero
point zero percent chance of winning a month ago when
the bracket was was announced.

Speaker 1 (39:44):
I mean, I'm the first to laugh at my own
bad takes. And I know some people are sensitive. I
know some people take it personal.

Speaker 2 (39:49):
Yeah, I do. Well, if you dish it, you know,
if you can't take it, you shouldn't dish it.

Speaker 1 (39:52):
It's a matter of how well do you know these people?

Speaker 2 (39:55):
Too?

Speaker 1 (39:55):
True, I'm just saying in life right when you play
games like that, But I'm all for it if Box
willing to pull the clip spot.

Speaker 2 (40:01):
I got on that spoty, Yeah, Iowa, Sam knows where
all the archives are.

Speaker 1 (40:07):
There you go and no, this is not mine again
Cadino and Rich Fox Sports Radio. The numbers eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox. I do want to say
congrats to Stu Gotts. Like we mentioned yesterday, we said
congrats on your debut. Today I want to say welcome
to the company. I haven't met the company yet, but
welcome to the other fellas in involved. Is there a

(40:30):
regular other than Stugats or is it like a like
a rotating table of his palace?

Speaker 2 (40:35):
Taylor and the crew there, they're regulars.

Speaker 1 (40:37):
Taylor, Mikey a h. And then we've we've had Uh, sorry,
I'm forgetting his name now. Didn't he run the show?
I didn't know he was, right, buddy.

Speaker 2 (40:51):
Oh I'm sorry.

Speaker 5 (40:52):
Israel Good who was on around the Horn on the
show last two days. Yeah, yeah, I'm sorry, sank his name.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
But everybody was so kind and gracious when we started
here over four years ago. We want to welcome Stu
Gotts and company. Check them out if you missed it,
But thank you guys for enjoying our show.

Speaker 2 (41:09):
Too live.

Speaker 1 (41:10):
Is it true that is he inspired you? Sam? You're
thinking about bleaching your hair?

Speaker 5 (41:14):
Yeah, I'm going for that ninety cyberpunk look. Yeah, look
it's also very ripped. Side note, Stam's not going for that.

Speaker 1 (41:21):
Now.

Speaker 2 (41:22):
I can't hear that.

Speaker 1 (41:24):
Show Time Mahomes trivia because we're giving away prizes this hour.
Showtime Homes is going to be stopping by asking multiple
choice questions. So your chance to win. At eight seven
seven ninety nine, O Fox might want to talk some
some things you waited a long time for, because everybody's
on the edge of their seat waiting for this Cody

(41:44):
Bellinger announcement. Yeah, if you're a baseball fan, Camino's right,
Cody Bellinger is sitting somewhere right now in less than
the last minute, he minute announcement. He's sitting somewhere knowing
that fan bases of multiple major market teams, this could
be a long build up for a disappointing drop. And
be honest, the disappointing drop would be staying with the Yankees.

(42:06):
For you, that would be great news, but for everyone else,
we're like, well then, why didn't he just say you
were gonna stand? And that's a random social media reference
of the guy that has that song. I like long
build ups and disappointing drops. I like long build ups
and disappointing drop and he goes, that's the drop. It's
like a club remix sort of thing, and it's sort

(42:28):
of like Grand Theft Auto six. It's like we've been
waiting forever and they keep pushing it back. It's like,
are you ever gonna get the announcement? Is it ever
coming out? I finally finished it, but you know how
long it took me to really gain interest again in
that last season A Stranger Thing. I still haven't finished it.
They waited too long. And Cody Bellinger, you could say, hey,

(42:48):
good for him, but he's waiting a really long time.
But he has the MLB by the cohonis right now.
And that's really what we're getting at Danny because he
is the difference maker. We established yesterday that whatever team
he ends up on is the team that's proving they're
in it to compete. If the Dodgers are the team
to beat, and everybody knows that they are, they just

(43:10):
keep getting better. All these other teams with big time
budgets and big time players need Cody Bellinger at this point,
that would be the Mets, the Yankees, the Phillies. The Phillies.
The Phillies lost out in like the as I say,
the eleventh hour to Themester Bobachett. They thought they had
Boba Schett. So it's a good place to be. He's

(43:30):
in a great, great situation right now. Cody Bellinger just
knows there's a bunch of thirsty teams that are all
openly saying we need one other big all star potential
piece to compete with the Dodgers, because the Dodgers are
just so stacked compared to the rest of Major League
Baseball that the Padres, Phillies, Mets, Blue Jays, Yankees, all

(43:51):
these teams, they all are thinking, well, we need like
one more piece, or at least one more piece. So
Cody Bellinger just sitting around chilling and Danny talk about
things that we just wait so long for that you
eventually you're gonna be like I lose interest, Like I
think on Weekend hob nob and you said there's a
sequel or prequel to Game of Thrones. Yeah, you feel

(44:11):
like you watched Game of Throws a decade ago. I'm
done with the Lanisters.

Speaker 2 (44:15):
I get it.

Speaker 1 (44:15):
They pay their debts. Good job. Yeah, I'm not excited
about it like I should be. I felt that way
to me.

Speaker 2 (44:21):
I was gonna say I felt that way with asking
you guys to watch land Man. I asked you for
a year, gave up. Finally I gave up, and now
he's on it. Weeks after I gave up, you start watching.

Speaker 1 (44:30):
Rich has seen all the hot women on this show
and now he's, uh, he's interested. Can you know, show
me that howt girl that went off to college and
for the rent? And then Ali Laudo is to hop
Mom and I'm like a bella danger is not on
land Man. In case you're wondering, a lot of people
remember when Guns n' Roses kept teasing new music and
it was like ten years that had come by before
I think it was Chinese Democracy came out, and like

(44:52):
you know, by the time it came out, you're not
even excited anymore. So if there's other examples of of
just long build ups and disappointing drops, things that you
were waiting for for just way too long, you could
let us know at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.
But we're starting to feel that way about Cody Bellinger like,
all right, dude, what's the deal here?

Speaker 2 (45:09):
We need to know who's competing. He used to follow
up to Doctor Dre's the chronic Yeah.

Speaker 1 (45:14):
Yes, yes he is. We're waiting and waiting for the
rock fans. It's the new Incubus if you're a rock fan,
because they've been talking about this new album for a
long time. I know not everybody is into Incubus, but
I am. And he is the difference maker. He's the
game changer in this situation, in this scenario, he is

(45:34):
that missing piece that so many competitive teams need to
be a legitimate competitor in the MLBING. As we said, yes, sir,
if the Mets get him now, all of a sudden
will The Mets did lose Polar Bear Pee Alonzo, and
they traded Nemo and McNeil that you know, the Mets
would now have Bolbushett and they would have Bellinger, and
they have Polanco and Marcus Simeon so and then the

(45:55):
Yankees lose. Just that Yankees can't afford to lose that
bat that was already in their lineup. I got for
you that expired expired, expired, expired. That's the way to
put it. Connor McGregor's coming back fired expired, expired. I
got a Nat problem Connor McGregor talking about coming back.

(46:15):
It's like, do you really give a Diddley squad at
this point? That dude in our minds? You know, hey,
he could prove us wrong and I would love that,
but he's washed. I say that respectful because I don't
want to ever have a comfortation. You were waiting for
a flay Weather Junior to fight many Pakia and it
was like ten years too late. It was. It was
past his prime. The only thing that kept it competitive
is they were both kind of old, right, but it
was as far as excitement level, you were past it.

(46:39):
Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury kind of past the point
of excitement. Cody Bellinger, you got to make the announcement
soon because we're all like sitting here on the edge
of our seat wondering what team You're gonna make that
difference on any other examples, let us know at eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox, if you're Cody Bellinger, what
do you do? If I'm Cody Belinger? Stay on the Yankees,

(47:00):
not just because some Yankees fan. He's already proven he
could deliver there on a big stage. The dude put
up big number. But if you're Cody Bellinger, that right
short porch, that short porch right there, Taylor made for
his swing, and they all love him there. They really
loved them like he was. He was a difference in
the club. You know, the protection you get in the
lineup when you're betting, you're gonna get pitched to when

(47:22):
you're batting next to Aaron Aaron Judge. And you know
he's got that family lineage. His dad played for the Yanks,
So I really not only did I, but it seemed
like the fans really embraced that and they loved him
for it. And I think he belongs there and he
keeps the Yankees competitive. If you if you're Cody Bellinger,
but I also think he'd be a huge plus for
your mets. If you're Cody Bellinger and the Yankees say, hey, listen, no,

(47:48):
no games. I'm not playing silly games with you again.
The controversy is he wants seven years and they most
teams want to give him about five. I was gonna
say that if you're if you're Cody Bellinger and the
Yankees like, yeah, five years thirty something million dollars a year,
one hundred and fifty plus. If a team like the
Mets who are in the same city or Philadelphia, which
is an hour and a half away, do the Phillies

(48:09):
are the Mets who are both competitive teams that will
compete for the playoffs? If your Cody Bellinger is a
six or seventh year enough leaving the Pinstripes a six
or seventh year, Yeah, because that's what him and his
agent want. They want the longevity, they want the security,
they want that six or seventh year. Maybe the Yankees

(48:31):
aren't willing to budge on it. Let me yeah, let
me ask you one last question. The Yanks over paid
for Grisham. That's really the backstory. One last question and
then we'll move off of baseball. But it just has
to do with any sport, not just baseball. How do
you feel about when you hear in all sports where
an agent's like, give me your final offer and then
when we're not coming back to you, do you like
that tactic or is it like is that good or

(48:53):
bad business? Where with Kyle Tucker, from what I understand,
the Mets offered a significant amount of money, a bigger bonus,
but the fact that he has an opt out after
two for any team he was offered. The Mets actually
offered to the most money. But that's why Steve Cohen

(49:13):
thought Kyle Tucker was going to be a Met. He
goes to the Dodgers, get gets glambered a little bit,
and he's like, I'm gonna be a Dodger. Do you
like the idea of not going back to let the
other team counter or do you like the whole like
I guess almost like you're in a game show, like
give me your final offer. I'm always torn on those
type of situations. That's why you have an agent so

(49:34):
that you could keep your reputation as a nice guy.
On whatever team you end up on, they're supposed to
be fighting for you. So I'm always torn on that
because there's a part of me that's like Bellinger has
to want to make a decision.

Speaker 2 (49:49):
Holding off.

Speaker 1 (49:50):
You heard that Danny about Edwin Diaz, Timmy Trumpets, who
will now be playing at Dodger Stadium, break out the
Trumpets that the Mets who had had him since he
you know, he came over here years ago, was an
All Star for the the metch year after year, Edwin Diaz,
the Dodgers given offer, and his agent didn't even let
the Mets get a chance to counter offer. I was like,
all right, we're going with the Dodgers. I think the

(50:11):
counter offfer is important. Manny Munio says, across the Spider Verse,
Part three, Crickets, anyone, anyone, please let Cody stay as
a Yankee. It's also from Manny six four seven five.
Vince Garcia says, it doesn't matter who the Yankees signed.
The Dodgers own this s Yeah, but that's the piece

(50:34):
that's waiting to be dropped. Steve Lopez says, Cody Bellinger,
come on, been there, done that? All right, Well, big baseball,
that's the final piece, the big baseball piece. That's the
biggest name out there left.

Speaker 2 (50:49):
On the board.

Speaker 1 (50:50):
And then then you know, you hear the bat. Then
all those big teams that we just mentioned have a
backup plan. And that backup plan's name is Austin Hayes
or Harrison Bader. Yeah, baters, those are the backup plan.
So hey, if you're a big baseball fan, we all
just patiently wait for Cody Bellinger to decide, probably just
sitting around sipping a cold brew from Starbucks, just sitting
back being like, well, it's today, the day the side

(51:12):
with the protein foam, just to you know, just to
gi himself a little good measure. And for the record,
if people are thinking he's washed, he had twenty one
twenty nine dongs last year, ninety eight RBI. Those numbers,
that's Annabella, that's a Bella danger numbers.

Speaker 2 (51:26):
That is how many.

Speaker 1 (51:29):
Ninety eight RBI and he batted to seventy two. So boy,
you know, he had a he had a solid, stellar
season with the Yankees in his first year. All right, well, hey,
your thoughts on Tony Bellinger and you know what, something
we could get to Also, this happens in all sports,
but Danny g ever, since they won the coveted, oh boy,

(51:51):
the coveted so respected NBA Cup, the Knicks have sort
of stunk.

Speaker 2 (51:57):
Huh. Yeah, And I almost feel like my Lakers also
went to the Cup somehow because they've been stinking to
But I mean in the last eleven that's yeah, I
can't point to that as what's going on with the Lakers.
With the Knicks, we kind of can, because yesterday there
was a little bit of drama there. They were down
twenty eight points to the MAVs at halftime. They wound
up getting blown out four game, losing streak two and

(52:19):
nine in their last eleven. It's all been downhill since
winning the NBA Cup.

Speaker 1 (52:23):
Did you see even the super fans like Ben Stiller
and like Spykly here commenting like, hopefully they get it together.
Ben Stiller's like, the super fans are med, the regular
fans are mad.

Speaker 2 (52:33):
And then after the game, Jalen Brunson called a player's
only meeting your favorite thing?

Speaker 1 (52:38):
Yeah, and what does that mean exactly? And how do
you feel about that players only meeting? Is that good
or concerning? Does that work or not work? I find
out to be concerning, to be honest, it's like, all right,
this is how desperate things are getting that there has
to be a player's only meeting. He also says that
there's something else going on. Well, it is it saying

(52:59):
that something the coach can't convey or is it more
of a not a diss on on the coach or
manager depending on the sport. Is it more of a like,
I like that they're doing something, but the fact that
there's something that's causing this is concerning. But It's like
a couple who's arguing who finally says, like, art, we
need to sit down with a therapist. Like the player's

(53:20):
only meeting is like next step? Like right, right, you know,
we try to rally. That's all good, but it also
implies that that, yeah, there's there's some heavy stuff going on.

Speaker 2 (53:28):
Well, remember Mike Brown was brought in to fix some
of this, and he's already starting to feel the heat
right now.

Speaker 1 (53:34):
There were people that hated the Thibodeaux firing. A lot
of people did. Right, So when you hear players only meeting,
what does that mean to you? I find that to
be both as because both could be true. That's that's
our go to because it is fact. It's good because
you're trying to nip it in the bud, but it
is also very concerning because it proves that there's something

(53:56):
bigger going on. I feel like the truth lies in
what I'm about to say. Okay, much like the therapy example,
like players only meeting, it's just it's nothing. Do you
know how many times a team I rooted for you
hear oh there's gonna be a players only meeting. You
know what happens at players only meeting, you think like, oh,

(54:17):
they must have got through to them, and then they
continue they're losing. Ways you have any players only meetings
the Mets had this past year. I know that's my
example because it's my team. But it doesn't mean it's
gonna work players, but it's addressing it, right, So that's
the start of fixing the problem. You need to address
the problem. There's no guarantee that it's gonna be fixed
or that it's gonna work, but you have to address it.

(54:40):
It's Tuesday, and I saw them in the lobby. It's
time for show boys, show Time of homes Trivia, the
mostly lovable Patrick mahomes. Truth is, I want everybody to
love me, not just the refs. It's time for some
NFL trivia. I'm here, I'm here, Yes, we know you're here,
all right, Patrick Mahomes here to play Showtime homes Trivia.

Speaker 2 (55:04):
All right? R FSR security walking our broke Patrick into
the main studio.

Speaker 1 (55:07):
Hey, what's up? Patrick Holmes? Baby so good? And as
Patrick Holmes baby so good on ice? Do it?

Speaker 2 (55:17):
You could be a doctor Pepper jingleson.

Speaker 1 (55:19):
Yeah, that's right, Patrick mahomes here. Hey, guys, got some
time on your hands and when I'm not there, Fernando. Yeah,
I want to single one cadat Fernando, big Abba family,
the Mahomes.

Speaker 2 (55:30):
Family besides Kerry. Ok, what have you been doing with
your time off?

Speaker 1 (55:33):
You know, just lamping Lineman watching land Man should be
called ass man. A lot of hot women on that show.
Ass Man.

Speaker 2 (55:40):
All right, let's meet the contestants. Twenty seven time winner
Rich Davis right over there, Tom Patrick, twenty two time
champion Dan Byer is back. Hello.

Speaker 1 (55:48):
Hello, by the way, are you gonna be back in
the mix next year? Whooping Fernando? He's gonna be in
your division. They'll be too excited.

Speaker 2 (55:56):
I am so in the mix.

Speaker 1 (55:57):
You think I'm worried about Fernando, I just congrat l
I might worried about him.

Speaker 2 (56:01):
Okay, long puzzler and ten times to think about it.

Speaker 1 (56:05):
Do you believe he's asking that spotty.

Speaker 2 (56:07):
Boy right over here? Do this such a feel good
story that even Patrick doesn't want to whoop on Fernando?
All right? Looking to win a seeing our nerve football
in the studio lines Craig and Coral Springs, Florida was
the first through Craig. What of Craig what's up? How
you doing, gentlemen? Craig, Craig, what do you do for
a living?

Speaker 1 (56:24):
There? I'm at double stuck double for real, for real. Wow.

Speaker 3 (56:30):
Yeah, that's pretty like.

Speaker 1 (56:32):
In the world of a bella danger.

Speaker 2 (56:33):
Or like a movie.

Speaker 4 (56:36):
Like the world of adult films.

Speaker 2 (56:40):
Oh so I was right? Oh all right. Rules for
Showtime Homes NFL trivia. The first contestant with two correct
answers is a champion. If there's a tie, we do
have a tie breaker question. Your name is your buzzer,
but you have to wait until all three possible answers
are read. If there's two wrong answers in a row,
we move on to the next question. Are you ready?

Speaker 1 (56:58):
Let's go? I'm here, Patrick Mahomes always a pleasure to
be here and me and the Chiefs picked ninth in
this upcoming NFL draft, But let's talk number one picks.
The only other time the Raiders had the first pick
was in two thousand and seven, and they selected JaMarcus Russell,
who was picked after him second overall. A. Adrian Peterson, B.

(57:21):
Calvin Johnson or C. Joe Thomas, Dan Buyer B Calvin Johnson. Yeah,
ma'am ba boom Craig.

Speaker 2 (57:34):
I think Bayer was giving you a couple of beats
there to try to get in on.

Speaker 1 (57:37):
Yeah, Craig, just shut your name, man, It's all good.

Speaker 2 (57:40):
I caught that, all right, Buyer on the board. We
go to round two.

Speaker 1 (57:44):
Round two in the Chicago Bears, by the way, Caleb
Williams awesome, awesome in the Chicago Bears classic Super Bowl shuffle,
which player said the Bears are doing it to feed
the needy, was a well Peyton B. McMahon or c
Richard Dent.

Speaker 2 (58:04):
Hey, Craig, Craig, you say, Walter Payton, you.

Speaker 1 (58:08):
Are because we ain't here starting out of trouble.

Speaker 2 (58:15):
All right, Buyer and Craig both on the board. We
go to round three.

Speaker 1 (58:21):
Was I once quoted saying about coaches, ay, you can
tell when coaches have confidence in you. B Me and
Trav get paid so well that we don't even need
to involve our coaches when it comes to bribing the
refs or c I've been called the coach on the field.

(58:42):
That doesn't mean that I don't need my coaches on
the sideline.

Speaker 2 (58:48):
Rich rich up, now you got it in there first.

Speaker 1 (58:52):
I'll say you are in a three a tie now
when the coaches have confidence in you, and uh, I'm
sure this isn't Craig's first time in a three way
based his occupation respectfully.

Speaker 2 (59:06):
Oh buyer, Craig and Rich all tied as we go
to round four?

Speaker 1 (59:12):
Is this called Lucky Pierre or something like that? Round four?
Calm down, Patrick, Let's talk Broadway.

Speaker 2 (59:18):
Joe.

Speaker 1 (59:19):
Okay, where was the great Joe Namath? Born a Inica,
New York, b Brunswick, Maine. See beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.

Speaker 4 (59:32):
Damn sorry, Craig, Yeah, yeah, it's beaver Falls, Pennsylvany.

Speaker 2 (59:38):
It is.

Speaker 1 (59:40):
It's actually a HBO documentary of the sports one. Is
that that?

Speaker 2 (59:46):
Yeah? What a great documentary that is.

Speaker 1 (59:47):
I've never seen this one. Give me the scoop. It's
just good.

Speaker 2 (59:50):
Like I cried at the end of.

Speaker 1 (59:52):
It about name it or just that the town and
people that came out.

Speaker 4 (59:55):
Of it, everything, you know, just yeah, it's it's it's
really good.

Speaker 1 (59:58):
You know.

Speaker 4 (59:58):
I know some people don't like name It because they
don't think his stats were good enough. But yeah, I
thought it was. I thought it was name it was
or is an interesting dude? All right, Craig and Florida,
thank you for playing the game. Appreciate you a pleasure.

Speaker 2 (01:00:12):
Thank you, guys.

Speaker 1 (01:00:12):
And for the younger people that don't know about him
winning Super Bowl three or you know, the the fur coats,
he's the guy that said I want to kiss you.

Speaker 2 (01:00:20):
Yeah, that second brought up as well.

Speaker 1 (01:00:23):
Yeah, struggling. Enjoy the whole Fernando thing now and we'll
talk again about it next year, all right, but enjoy
it why you can. All right, Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 2 (01:00:32):
Out, goodbye, Thank you, see you next week.

Speaker 1 (01:00:34):
Hey, you know what, maybe not, I don't know. I'm busy,
get busy, do nothing later, guys, all right, Lader Patrick Mahomes. Covino,
Patrick Mahomes telling me to watch His and Hers, he
said that was pretty good. He's got a lot of
time on his hands. That's it's a good show. I
told you. He also watched Marcelo Hernandez on Netflix. He
said it was great. Is that comedy special good? Patrick

(01:00:55):
Mahomes said it was pretty good. He said he's been
watching lots of TV, extra time on his hands. You
know what, I get intimidated because Danny, I have seen
the clips of Landman and Covino's right. I saw a
couple of hop blondes and now I'm.

Speaker 2 (01:01:08):
Like, oh, watch he's you know, yeah, the truth is revealed.

Speaker 1 (01:01:12):
I can't lie. It's like the women in that show
are totally my type.

Speaker 2 (01:01:16):
That's not why it's a fabulous show though.

Speaker 1 (01:01:18):
But please tell me, though, how many seasons? This is
one of those where how many seasons? Since?

Speaker 2 (01:01:23):
So we're into season two right now.

Speaker 1 (01:01:25):
Okay, So it's not a big catch up, No, not
at all. Okay, because sometimes you start a new show
and someone's like, yeah, dude, it's six seasons, and you're
like six seasons.

Speaker 2 (01:01:32):
So this is not a crazy one too, Just that
the other Landman fans in our chat and who call
in and try to get on hobnobbing and me reminding
you every Friday and hobnobbing for almost a year and
you finally maybe might watch.

Speaker 1 (01:01:46):
Yeah, you know what, I'll jump on board.

Speaker 2 (01:01:49):
No, I listen.

Speaker 1 (01:01:50):
I don't think there's an expiration date on when you
jump on Danny G was singing his praises for a
long time, and I finally took his word on it
because I was catching up on other stuff and I
so the opportunity Bam.

Speaker 2 (01:02:01):
And Billy Bob is a badass.

Speaker 1 (01:02:03):
Yeah, it's cool man. It's a cool show for sure.
And if you're a Yellowstone fan, I imagine you're gonna
love this show. If you haven't jumped on, you need
to have watched Yellowstone. No, no, it's totally. It's not
like that's there's nothing, no lining. And by the way, Rich,
before we move on, No, I thought Billy Bob was good.
And remember he was a lawyer. Is it Goliath? Yes,
that was a good show. So I liked him in

(01:02:23):
Blood and Blood Out He's he's in one of the
jail gangs for really really Yeah, man, it's a guy.

Speaker 2 (01:02:31):
They go more.

Speaker 1 (01:02:32):
Coveno and Rich talk a little NFL get ready for
the weekend. I'll be honest with you. I'm the most
excited NFL guy usually, but this weekend both championship games.
I know I gotta I gotta start thinking of angles
to get me excited. I really do.

Speaker 2 (01:02:46):
I feel like you think you might get more excited
as we get closer to Sunday or is it just
underwhelming to the matchup?

Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
Danny. Let me give you the ten seconds. We'll expand
more when we come back. And I want to know
your thoughts on bel Trand and Andrew Jones. Yeah, obviously,
you know, congratulations. We'll talk to Beltrandon Andrew Jones, but
also Danny. The NFC teams are my division rivals. I'm
a Niners fan, so it's like Rams or Seahawks.

Speaker 2 (01:03:09):
Gross.

Speaker 1 (01:03:10):
And then you got the Patriots who have been there
a million times versus team with a backup quarterback in Steady,
So it's like, I just don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:03:18):
A much different Patriots team though.

Speaker 1 (01:03:20):
Yeah, but I don't know. I feel like people in
New England have been spoiled between the Celtics, the Red Sox,
the Patriots. They have a ton of championships in the
last twenty years where.

Speaker 2 (01:03:28):
It's not their fault. You should celebrate their success.

Speaker 1 (01:03:31):
Well, I'll talk about it more. Next, we got Covino
and Retch right here on Fox Sports Radio. Easy. Visit
expresspros dot com, find an office and see how Expressed
can help you hire smarter and faster. Did you say easy?
As a shout out to cousin Brucey on National DJ
Days National DJ Day, And that's how Rich and I

(01:03:52):
and Danny g how we all started our careers US.
Now I think we're more hosts, but we still play
music on serious XM. Yeah, you're not like spinning music.
It's very different. Yeah. So today, Hey, thank a DJ,
Thank a DJ on National DJ Day. Thanks Casey Casem.
You know we're not the only ones. If you go
to Twitter and just search Cody Bellinger, look at the
last one that comes up. What on earth could Cody

(01:04:14):
Belinger possibly be waiting for the next person any minute now? Cody,
everyone is just if you're a baseball than you're impatiently
waiting for Bellinger to make a decision. And I'm telling
you it's just going to be. It's gonna be a
big domino that falls. And then again, here's the next
biggest piece to drop and the bat that people need

(01:04:36):
to be competitive in this league. But announcements were made
as far as Hall of Fame. Dan Bayer had the
breaking news of who made it this year? And I
don't want to sound like a jerk, really, because congratulations
are due to Carlos Beltdan and Andrew Jones to really
great play. If you don't want to sound like a jerk,

(01:04:57):
go to Robert and in Vegas. Well, can I just
give you my problem and then we'll go to Robert.
There has to be a criteria right, isn't there a criteria?
Don't we work on a station where the Hall of
very good is often talked about. Not one of the
dudes hit the five hundred home run mark, Not one
of the dudes have three thousand hits or more, and

(01:05:19):
not one of the dudes has batted over two eighty career, Like,
are you kidding me? I think they're generational talents, but
hall of famers? I'm really not sure. I can't say
generational talent and then that's say hall of fame, So
make up you mind. You just think they're very good.
I think they're very great, but are they hall of famers?
I feel like we've lowered the criteria to get two

(01:05:41):
really great players in. And I say that respectfully because
I wish I had an ounce of their talent. And
I love both players. They're both former Yankees as well.
But I mean, I don't know about this. We'll go
to Vegas. Robert chars that sentiment. What's up? Rob?

Speaker 2 (01:05:55):
You said it perfect?

Speaker 1 (01:05:56):
Those two weren't perennial all stars.

Speaker 2 (01:05:59):
They aren't Hall of Trammers.

Speaker 1 (01:06:02):
You know what they did give, and I'll never take
it away from them. Lots of great years Carlos Beltron
played twenty years, Andrew Jones played seventeen years. They were
both incredible, like we all wanted them on our team,
There's no doubt about that. But if we have this standard,
you know that we're so strict on and that's why
Donnie Baseball's not in. These guys, get in, Get out

(01:06:23):
of my face. Look at that. Can I play Devil's Advocate?
Going to be Keanu or al Pacino? Be Kianu?

Speaker 2 (01:06:29):
I don't care.

Speaker 1 (01:06:29):
That'd be al Pacino because I was Canu last who
How do you guys have a thought about Maybe you're
neglecting to think about defense because both of those guys
were gold And why does Omarvus SkELL get no knots.

Speaker 2 (01:06:43):
You sounded like John Harbaugh at as Prescoton, But no.

Speaker 1 (01:06:46):
I think that Beltron would glide through the outfield like
a gazelle. Andrew Jones was a gold glover many times.
I just think if you tell the story of that
nineties domination of the Atlanta Braves, Andrew ow was just
such a part of that. I agree with you that
I wouldn't be crying if they weren't in. I think
it's generous that they're in. But it's very generous, dude.

(01:07:09):
And you mentioned defense, right, and of course that's a
major part of the game. There was no slicker fielder
at short than omarv As scal Is an infielder, and
this dude got what percentage? He got eighteen percent of
the full So I mean, are they really counting defense
that much? Because those numbers don't really add up to
Hall of Fame for me? And I know how Rob

(01:07:31):
Parker feels about it too. He's not holding back any punches.
He actually has a vote the next The next two
guys that didn't get in there were just shy were
Chase Utley and Andy Pettit. Now here's the other thing, right,
stats that matter. I understand that Indy Pettit pitch for
the one of the best teams of the nineties in
that era, right, and he had a steroids conflict that

(01:07:55):
he says he used to recover quicker the HCA he
had the most wins of the nineties. They always say,
if you can't tell the story of that decade or
that generation without that player, you know, that's how you
know if they're a Hall of Famer or not. Who
had more wins than Andy Pettitt in the nineties, can quick, nobody,
can you give me a quick what's Pettit's career era?

(01:08:16):
Because I look at it as a big game pitch
in the.

Speaker 2 (01:08:18):
Three, I think.

Speaker 1 (01:08:22):
Multi time cy Young Award winner. I believe King Felix
won two. And by the way, dude, I don't want
to be a hater. I'm not skint, and I'm just
stating that these are my instincts here, and I do
congratulate them in their families. It's quite the honor. But
we grew up with a standard. They didn't meet any
of those standards offensively. Offensively if you're if it's the defense,

(01:08:45):
uh three eight five is Pettit's life? That's almost fort
e A dude. Yeah, but his postseason, his World Series
Felix won won one so young, but he's shy as well.
I have to give a shout out to a lot
of people are on hoole. We can get to Russell,
and Russell hit us up with a great Eddie said
the a's He said he was listening to one of
our old episodes on the pod. Remember we were trying
to figure out what the A should be called? Yeah,
he said, they should be the Vegas gold Rush. And

(01:09:07):
he thinks they should be gold black with a hint
of green and tribute to the to the UH. And
he's like the Vegas gold Rush, they would have a
cool vibe and you know people not only they didn't
just come to California the you know golden nugget, very
gold Vegas. That's a bad idea. I just wanted to
give him a shout because he was on hoole for
a long time. Thank you, buddy, thanks for all your feedback.
