Speaker 3 (00:25):
That shirt today? Bro? You blind?
Speaker 4 (00:28):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (00:29):
Nice?
Speaker 5 (00:30):
Nice?
Speaker 2 (00:31):
And of course Iowa Sam speaking of shirts, Wow, you
gotta go to our YouTube pages to see it. You
want to take a bite out of him. He's got
a summary fruit on. And of course the kron is
here and we be rocking out.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Let's go.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
You always want to take a bite out of the crown.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
What's up, Isaac? He's got some Bayside High Radio shirt on.
Don't think I didn't notice that sweet shirt.
Speaker 6 (00:48):
Glad you noticed by the way, I thought you had
seen each other's junk.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
No, no, no, no no. That's the secret to our
succes happen. We almost did one time.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Closest time true story do you walk away knocking in
on the bathroom?
Speaker 3 (01:01):
Can I tell that story?
Speaker 1 (01:02):
Here?
Speaker 2 (01:02):
The cliff notes we were talking to two girls in
our single days. Let's just say I ended up back
in a hotel room with one of them. The other
one somehow left Cavino behind and ended up entering the
room with another dude, and I had no clothes on.
So it was close. Rich says somehow as if I
was like inferior in the moment, but it was because
she wanted drugs and I'm not that kind of guy,
(01:23):
So I was like later and she ended up with
some other schlub.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
Yeah. Guy, the girl that I was didn't want drugs.
She just wanted me.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
I was her drugs. I had it gone further.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
She was going to get drugs after she had you. Yeah, yeah,
I told her this one. This was in our twenties,
of course.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
So it's a rule on the show if there's ever
a stupid story that you tell, you could always get
away with it by saying, eh, I was in my
twenties unless you did something terrible, right usually, so I'm Cavino.
That is Rich And thank you guys for being here.
I hope you had a Jim Abbott sort of night.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
What a beautiful moment for a guy that we've always
loved and respected our buddy coach ball Game. It has
a beautiful moment with him, well, like last year, like an.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Event in front of a bunch of children, and then
last night on the big stage. Well, his story's so inspirational.
That's why I coached ballgame. Who's known and it's been
on the show, but known for teaching kids throughout America.
He's like the world's number one little kid coach. And
of course Rich is a close second. But he uses
Jim Abbott's story as a story of inspiration. And he
(02:28):
was acknowledged last night at the SP's and made a
really nice speech. I thought it was great, and he
doesn't want to be known for that, but he was
proud to accept the award, and to me, that was
the highlight. Of course, Marcelo Hernandez and Fernando Mendoza had
a few funny Melvan.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Mike Tyson, MoMA. We'll go over all that.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
But could I start the show with something not sports related? Yes,
only because it's on my mind and I you know me,
I can't focus if I have something else on my mind.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
I very rarely get like the de Luxe car.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
Wash, like the Premo package, Like I'm not I'm the
guy that drives through the gas station car wash like
twelve bucks. I'm that guy, admittedly, so I know that's
a crappy car wash. But Danny g you have a
nice car. I feel like you do you spend some
bucks I'm a nice car wash in there, or you
do it yourself.
Speaker 7 (03:13):
Yeah, down the street from where I live, a few
streets away, there's a touchless car wash. And that's what
you're supposed to use because you take pride in your car. Yeah,
you don't want the swirls on your paint.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
I'm saving my disgust for later. I've already heard this story.
I know how he rolls and like he gets the
gas station car wash, like that's why he's got dirty sneakers.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
He doesn't care.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
It's so big, dirty brushes all over his car.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
But I told him I got to I get my
car washed like every two or three weeks. He was
like dumbfounded. I was like, yeah, because I try to
keep my car clean. He told me with a straight
face that he hasn't gotten.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
A car wash in years.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
No. But when I say he expects me, you'd be like, sure, man,
I understood when I say when I say haven't got
a car wash in two years, Sam, I mean, like
drop it off.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
They do all the fix in station. That's for the
weak ass cars, bro have some prime. What about wash
your own? What about self served? Do you guys ever
do that?
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Or is that even lower on your on the that's
not even twelve dollars worth trawler car washes at the
shell station. Isn't that where Isaac takes an extra shower?
Here there at that self serve car wash? I love
doing it myself. I love the soap coming out of
the brush and I get.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
That baby all that's fine, But my point is he
ain't go get your car washed.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
B I feel like the car wash is one of
the few places where.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Sometimes they have you buy the Huevos and you don't
even know it much like you know, where are the
places in life you could still negotiate, Like a farmer's market,
I don't know you're you're in a foreign.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Country in a little street.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Cal hagling, Yeah, like a mattress store when you're buying
a new car.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
I'd love to haggle everywhere. I'm like marvelous Marvin Haggler,
wouldn't Cavino, Yeah, he'll be like, I think these chocolate
cover raisin should beute cheaper.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
Yeah, I'll give you. Sure you're at Ralph's. That's the price.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
I really do. I think you can haggle most places
except for like, yes, supermarket.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
Like mattress stores, even car dealerships, though now with like
your phone, that not a room to negotiation. Yeah, the negotiating,
negotiating and haggling is a thing of the past. But
I got caught off guard and did like a sucker thing.
I feel like, oh no, so I look at the
board and would you agree. A lot of car washes
(05:22):
menus aren't that clear.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
Yes, they're like street signs.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
It's it's like a New York City parking side in
the parking six to eight am.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
But on the days they're always trying to upsell. I
was like, wait a.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Minute, a hand wash is twenty three dollars, but like
the deluxe thing is.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
Three dollars for the green foam is five dollars more,
for the blue foam ten dollars more, and then if
you want the green foam on top of it, fifteen
nextrada and then and none of it does anything. And
I'm like, it's talking about the like there's four different
types of polishes and waxes. And then he asked me
a question, and I just want to tell everyone the
(06:00):
only reason I bring this up is is I want
to warn you not to say what I said or answer.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
He goes, hold on, now we go there. I'm looking
at the hand washed the deluxe think. He goes, well,
what are you looking to spend?
Speaker 2 (06:13):
And I'm the idiot that answered that question because that's
never when you're at a car dealership.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
This is just a warning to everyone. Never answer the question,
well what are you looking for your monthly payment to be?
Because then they could negotiate, they could do your little
calculation sound effect samooop, They could just make it that
they'll they'll add in taxes and the down payment will
be more. You know, never answer the question how much
(06:40):
are you looking to pay? Because that's a fool's answer.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
And I said, I don't know. Fifty to one hundred books.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Is that like when you get pulled over and the
cop asked you, do you know how fast you're going?
You always say I was going to speed them at
sixty five, yeah, and you were really doing like eighty one.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
In Rich's defense, when I hear the story. He did
catch you off guard, but I keep that in mind.
I don't know whatever the prices, what's up set price?
He's like, He says, he's like eighty bus eighty bucks
plus tax I could do such inside and that's what
he's doing.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
How about film menure?
Speaker 3 (07:09):
How about nothing?
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Can I give you a page out of my dad's book?
Speaker 3 (07:12):
How about I give you fifty dollars?
Speaker 8 (07:14):
Ok?
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Cash means nothing anything.
Speaker 8 (07:16):
I know.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
I could still get discounts on tires at some places
around here if you do offer cash cash money. In
our chat, Scott for Mayor says, you know rain is free. Yeah,
I'm sure rich. It doesn't rain here for seven months.
Out here you need two days a year.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
And by the way, for the record, I get my
car washed about every two weeks and three weeks max. Like,
give me a break, keep it in a garage, but
still gets dust. You have a birds everywhere. Black car
doesn't matter, that's right, yours is immune to dust pollen
and birds had a white car around your car. Black
cars are the worst for showing dirt because any little
(07:51):
dust is fifty dollars hand wash. So you don't destroy
your car with those brushes and everything, And again, prices
are real relative. We're here in Los Angeles, so fifty
dollars may sound a lot to you, but fifty dollars
handwash is reasonable here. Plus you tip the guy and
that's it. But you gotta keep your shoes clean, keep
your car clean, keep do I.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
Have to remind you? Keep your ass clean?
Speaker 3 (08:13):
Dude?
Speaker 1 (08:13):
Wipes like you gott are we talk.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
Rich?
Speaker 3 (08:20):
How much does your haircut cost? Like sixty bucks?
Speaker 1 (08:23):
I was gonna say, Cove, do you go by like
the two to three week week rule with your haircuts,
your car wash and changing your bed sheets?
Speaker 3 (08:30):
Is that is that you follow that? Like a trifecta
right there?
Speaker 2 (08:33):
They probably suggest when it comes to your bed sheets,
especially so depending on what you're doing in there, more
than that than that.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
But I think that's bunny fairess.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
But I'd imagine Sam as far as bed sheets go,
do you remember back in the college days you would
have buddies that would change your bed sheets, like once
a semester, that grimy friend you had.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
We're like, yeah, dude, you're discussed. They're the same kids
who never brought their pe clothes home to wash exactly.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
They say, you stinky Sullivan. They smell like free doos
and corn chips in their locker. Wash your car, dude.
And the reason Rich even has this car it is
because we got on him so hard today. And this
is like yearly appearance at the car wash again. I
get those cheap shell gas station twelve dollars way, and
I know.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
The Rich is just saying a detail, like a detail. Yeah,
once a year, once every summer, once every few years.
Rich is saying a straight up just like car wash.
Otherwise he runs it through the gas station every once
in a while, also called the car wash. It's not
a good called the poor man's car wash, dude, I'm sorry.
Everybody says it once in a while. But if you
have a nice car, if you have a nice car,
(09:32):
I'm sorry, what do you drive? You have a pretty
nice BMW. You're putting it through the random that's like
an emergency car wash. I'm not saying I don't do it,
but that's not what you do.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
What do you what do you not like about the
one where where you're like going through the ton touches
your car and it I swirl marks on your pand
that's fine. You get out though, and don't they buffet
for you?
Speaker 3 (09:52):
They can.
Speaker 8 (09:54):
Some of them.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
Some brushes they scratch if you have a nicer, newer car.
So what are you going to scratch up your car?
You do one where it's hand washed handed Oh okay
at car wash, dudes, but you pay for instead of
paying twenty something bucks probably total at a regular car
wash where the brushes are gonna scratch your car. But
I know it's fun to sit there and sit through
it and gets relaxing. You're going through the tunnel and
(10:17):
it's just like I love that. But now we know
it ruins the paint shop. So if you care about it,
it's a fifty dollars car wash. Can I tell you
my wife hand washed? My wife has car wash anxiety?
Speaker 3 (10:29):
What does that? What you mean?
Speaker 2 (10:30):
You know when you first enter a car wash and
they're trying to line up your tire with that groove,
My wife straight up has an anxiety attack, like left
right is the right? She overcorrect, dude, She like my
wife goes an idol Let it drift forward. She goes
into this like uncharacteristic panic. Every time you would drive
with the like when they're like little to the left,
(10:51):
She's like she'll like, drastically tired. I'm like, heye, relax.
She's like, I'm not the only one. So if you
have car wash anxiety, you're not alone. But hey, I'm wrong,
You're right.
Speaker 9 (11:01):
This is rare.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
I'm admitting I'm wrong. I need to go to the
legit car wash more. But just a reminder, happy to
hear you got to watch. Never answer the question any
in any circumstance. Hey, if you're at a state down Dan,
if you're at a ballgame and someone's selling some bootleg
merch outside the stadium, don't answer the question how much
you're willing to spend? Never answer the question how much
you're willing to spend? True, ask him how much? I
(11:25):
got so caught off guard. I feel like the New
Yorker in me, because I'm born and raised in New
York is ashamed of me. Following for that question, I
walked away with my head down, like, damn it, Hey,
you were off guard. I give you, I give you
how much you're willing to spend? How much are you
willing to spend? That guy just took the amount I said,
and then he's gonna do probably the minimal for that.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
Well, rich Davis reminds you to get your car washed
this summer.
Speaker 7 (11:50):
On this date in history, Walt Disney opened up Disneyland
for the first time, and Rich Davis got his.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
Car Washy.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
School exactly stick around because it's Thursday, and that means
old school. When fifty hits in about forty minutes, okay,
thirty seven to be exact, we throw it back on
a Thursday.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
We get you involved.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
But our intro yeah, basically paints says, a bunch of
dopes that don't know much, and it's not that far off.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
I get it.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
But you know what, I do know how to do
a radio show.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
You know what else? I know that show?
Speaker 1 (12:22):
Hey, Tani's not a girl?
Speaker 3 (12:24):
I do know that? Was that the most bizarre moment?
Or do you say?
Speaker 2 (12:28):
You know what? I?
Speaker 1 (12:30):
I think that's to understand it's the charm I think
of one Mike Tyson if you missed it, Leslid at
the SPS. Mike Tyson's there presenting the award for what
was that athlete? I don't even know what was that
athlete of the year. I think so I just saw
the highlight of it and show hal Tani mumbles under
Mike Tyson mumbles under his breath take listen, and goes
(12:53):
to check me out.
Speaker 4 (12:57):
Tani show Hey could not be here tonight.
Speaker 10 (13:05):
He sends his gratitude and appreciation at ESPN and everyone
who voted for him.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
Show Hey the guy, So Jake Paul accepts it on
his behalf, and then Tyson asks him that Mike picks
it up Joey the guy right, because he's saying, basically,
I don't know that and a guy or God, Mike,
where you've been. But my top picture of Mike Tyson
sitting at his ranch, smoking weed, just loving life.
Speaker 3 (13:30):
But I'm just shocked that he doesn't know the name.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
Just shows you how shoy, how much in his bubble
he is, and how little he cares about anything else
outside of boxing and his own life. Because we're talking
about one of the biggest stars of our lifetime, like
the Babe Ruth of baseball, who transcends baseball and sports.
He's an international superstar. Yet Mike Tyson doesn't know. But
(13:55):
if Mike Tyson's not watching sports highlights and he doesn't
watch baseball, and I doubt anyone's really talking to Mike
about baseball, and he's not in the circles urine, meaning
like that you just make an excuse you.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
But I'm saying it's the mom. Of course I am
Your mom knows who Sho is.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
What I'm just saying, like Mike Tyson doesn't find himself
at the barber shop or hanging in a radio studio
or bubble. He's in his such a bubble that played
one more time. I was saying he presents Sho Hai Tani.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
And then was just he was just proud, like watch
me pronaunce it and he got it relatively correct. He
was like, show hey, here it is and goes to
check me outani.
Speaker 3 (14:37):
Atani.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
Show hey could not be here tonight.
Speaker 10 (14:43):
He sends his gratitude and appreciation at ESPN and everyone
who voted for him.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
Show hey the guy.
Speaker 10 (14:51):
Right.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
Meanwhile, there's a giant photo behind him of Shoo Tani
pitching for the Dodgers.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
He says that sincerely, he's a guy. He's a guy.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
But here's why I'm not surprised. I mean, it's why
we sort of like Mike Tyson, like he's a peculiar guy.
He's very intriguing. We know this, he might be the
most intriguing guy on the Planet. I said this, Rich,
and I wasn't joking today. Rich said, is Corey Feldman's
birthday or something like that. I said, believe it or not,
He's a weird fella. I can't skip a Corey Feldman video.
I don't put him in the same category as Mike Tyson.
(15:21):
But I'll tell you this, there's no way in the
world I'm ever skipping past the Mike Tyson video. He's
the most intriguing dude. And when we interview I remember
the first time we interviewed him, we were so excited
to talk about Mike Tyson's punch out, and now it
was the true story.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
I love this.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
I was like, Mike, you don't get it, man, I
still know the code double O seven three seven three
five nine sixty three. Man, I'll never forget how I
felt when I finally got to fight you.
Speaker 10 (15:46):
Ent.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
He's like, man, f crazy, I don't even know. I'm like,
what do you mean you don't know?
Speaker 2 (15:51):
So automatically, I'm starting to feel so deflated because I'm
so excited and he has no like idea, like I
never really played that game.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
I'm like, you never played your own game?
Speaker 2 (16:01):
He's like no, He's like I never even got and
this is what he says. I swear to god, I'm
quoting Mike Tyson. I never even got pathed blath Joe,
the blast Jass Joe. He's like, yeah, what with his name?
Blath Joe. And it wasn't like a speech impediment thing.
He didn't know the guy's name, like it.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
Was glass Joe.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
If you don't Joe, you don't know Glass Joe. Yeah,
whatever his name is.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
We're like what, So he's so Mike Tyson that he
doesn't care, but you show he's a guy. People are
in circles where they don't get information. People are raised differently.
I'll give you two more. I'll give you three quick
examples just to show that. Man, I come barrel loaded.
Listen it these three I got three number one three
what examples? Three great examples of people.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
Just not knowing.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
Number one oblivious, being oblivious, locked and loaded. Number one
You're gonna fill in the blank for me because I
forgot who it was. But we had a rock star
on our show and Cavino was so pumped to be
like you remember track one we'd rock out and the
and the.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
Artist was like, yeah, I don't know the track listing.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
It was. Stephen Jenkins turned.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Up like Cavino's like, I love the order of the
songs on your I was talking about, like, hey, when
it comes to the sequence of songs, you know, like
Graduate was track five? Like or whatever? I said, I
don't know. It was such a big album in our
college days. Did you have a say on the track?
He's like, I don't know what song was?
Speaker 1 (17:22):
What?
Speaker 3 (17:23):
He's like, you know better than me. I'm like, you
don't know what song was? What this is your album?
Speaker 1 (17:27):
Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
This morning, Cavino has telling me that, uh, I've really
been enjoying Little House on the Prairie, and I'm like,
of all the shows, you know, it's number one on Netflix,
of all the shows for this doofy Guido to watch?
Speaker 3 (17:41):
He denies every show we recommend.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
Danny doesn't want to watch Friends and Neighbors, doesn't know
watch Silo. But he's like, you know, Little House on
the Praier. I know how corny it sounds, so I'm
giving you that, but it really is pretty good.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
You haven't even started Kate Fair.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
But Danny, but he loves the Little House in the
Prairie anyway, I'll admit I I didn't watch that show
as a kid in the eighties, so I didn't know
it was based on like real people.
Speaker 3 (18:04):
I'm I'm the dumb guy. There were books.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
Yeah, but that see does what I mean?
Speaker 2 (18:08):
He makes dumb excuses like I didn't have cable so
I don't know how the fact that it's like part
of Americana, dude, I'm sorry, okay. And then the sports example.
Do you remember the year was twenty twenty one. I
looked it up to confirm Anthony Edwards had no clue
who A Rod was. Oh Man became part of the
part of the crew that was looking to purchase the
(18:30):
t Wolves at the time, and they brought up A
Rod and Anthony Edwards was like, yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (18:36):
Oh, that's to me.
Speaker 2 (18:38):
That's a great example too rich. The fact that you
didn't know those were based on real life events historical fiction.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
When you say a Rod, you mean like a single rod,
A Rod.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
I thought there was no excuse for that because he's
a guy that's making his way in professional sports. We're
talking about a future owner of them. He was drafted
by a Rod, transcended sports, He's in pop culture. He
was dating j Lo at the time. I'm not mistaken.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
I got another way.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
Rod is such a controversial figure, but he didn't know,
like I understand, there's an age gap. To me that
was absurd, but it happens all the time. I remember
Rich and I we used to do a show for
Maxim magazine and we had some hometown hottie on the
show and we were like, hey, let's welcome Jessica Winfield
(19:30):
to the show. And I was like, hey, just and
she was a white girl, so I'm making a joke.
I was like, no relation to Dave. Right, She's like,
who's that? I'm like, you never heard of Dave Winfield?
And she was she was a girl that grew up
in the eighties in New York. Yeah, but and her
name was Winfield. I'm the first person ever to make
that reference to you in your entire life. I'm the
(19:50):
first guy like Dave Winfield. Never heard of that guy?
Speaker 4 (19:54):
Never heard of that guy?
Speaker 3 (19:55):
Your name's Winfield.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
So like when Tyson's like, show he tiny, I don't
know him, Like I get it because he's in a
bubble like Anthony Edwards, but I don't accept it. Well,
some people are in rich people bubbles, poor people bubbles,
cultural bubbles. But you you got me because I never
heard of that radio host. I don't want to call
(20:19):
him out. But there's a very famous radio host who
does like love line shows that I'm like, I don't
really know that person or whatever.
Speaker 3 (20:26):
Are you No, it's a girl.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
I know, I know, but I don't want to like
call it out for like I'm not I'm I got
a couple more fun examples of not knowing Covino's I
never heard of her. I'm like, you, you work in
radio for the last twenty five years, and you've never
heard of Delive. So the reason I bring that up
is not to expose myself, but to say that it's
you do miss things and I get it, Like, hey,
(20:49):
I don't know, man, I must have missed it or
fell asleep or it didn't register.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (20:54):
So guy who's worked in radio since the nineties, Yeah,
I don't know that one never heard the name Delilah. Nope,
she's syndicated one hundreds of radio station. I must have
heard that and been like, yeah, whatever, don't know it.
They know, but like Delilah, I don't think I listened
to the East coast too.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
It was everywhere where I don't know.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
Not where I lived, man, No, where you live nowhere
not in Union, New Jersey. We must out they blocked
it out in Union, New Jersey. Okay, another one.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
I'm gonna look up Delilah's old affiliate.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
It was no defense.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
I know she's a legend or whatever, but I missed it.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
Just like my type and myth show here with there
were movies you weren't seeing when you were like a
teenager because you were out trying to go on dates
with girls.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
But it's one thing to not listen to. But not no, right,
like I get it, Like, yeah, you know, I know
of It is a totally different thing. Camp scouted build.
You remember when he was drafted, he didn't know the
teams that were in his division.
Speaker 8 (21:51):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (21:51):
I don't think a lot of NFL guys could name
you tell you a lot about NFL history. I think
they're locked in on what what's now? What's yeah, like
what they're interesting in enough?
Speaker 3 (22:02):
You're right. I think there's a lot of NFL guys
the same way.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
I don't know college football the way a true college
football fan, those like I know the major divisions and
conferences and whatnot.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
But I think it's wild that a guy gets drafted
and you're like, dude, you're on the Giants.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
The fact that he doesn't immediately know like, oh, Commanders, Eagles,
Cowboys are my division.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
Like the fact that he does it, like he's like,
I don't know who's the most division? Nailed it.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
There's a reason they're so locked in on just playing
the game that they don't even care. So yeah, it's
always but it's shocking to hear, right, got.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
A pop quiz for rich quiz?
Speaker 4 (22:36):
Hoot?
Speaker 3 (22:36):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (22:37):
What conference were these former divisions in? One was called
Legends and one was called Leaders. Everyone hated it. What
conference was that in?
Speaker 3 (22:44):
Yes, no idea. I mean that that is the big
the Big ten. You're right, you are right.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
Oh listen, that's more of a b side question because
the Legends and Leaders lasted for what, I don't know, Isaac,
like five or six years, five or six minutes.
Speaker 3 (22:59):
I was stupid. I grew up on Long Island.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
If you like college sports, growing up on Long Island,
it was rare because you had two Pro NFL teams,
three hockey teams, and was watching Devil Rutgers like the
closest college basketball was Mark Jackson that I was a
big East guy, but I went to Syracuse for college
and that was the closest. The closest college football team
that had any success was maybe down in Maryland, up
(23:26):
in Syracuse, Boston College, like everything.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
There was nothing in the New Rutgers.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
You when you were in school, not I but like
to And even colleges that made impact were no, it's
we're a few and far.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
Penn State was like four hours away. Like the closest
colleges that had any relevance to New York City were
Upstate New York in Maryland. Is we all have blind spots,
that's understandable, but showld spot the way. Country music is
my blind spot. But I have a legitimate excuse. Growing
up in New Jersey, we didn't have a country station.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
Yeah had Delilah. Yeah I'm looking at in New Jersey
Cove in New Jersey.
Speaker 7 (24:04):
Delilah has been a long time staple on w s
U S one O two point three FM and Franklin,
New Jersey.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
I don't know one oh six point seven radio station,
ninety eight point three are happy station?
Speaker 1 (24:18):
Why would I listen to that?
Speaker 3 (24:19):
She joined New York Radio in two thousand and six.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
Well, I saw her sign outside this building and I
was like, get it out of my face, where's our sign?
Speaker 3 (24:26):
And I said that respectfully, So anyway, you don't have
to say it respectfully.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
I said, respect I heard.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
She never heard of you.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
That's just sign under the wall. Sit me up, she goes,
who's that dope? I wouldn't be surprised of.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
The FIFA World Cup is now streaming live on Fox one,

you don't ask.
Speaker 1 (25:26):
Well, it means a lot, guys, I don't know. I
appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
People are like that.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
If you're willing to like some random grow you don't
know who's just clapping her ass cheeks?
Speaker 1 (25:34):
Can you please like ours too? But your cheeks or
your post? Okay, colch do what.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
I do with my toddler. Tell them not to do it.
They'll do it. You know what I'm say, pology.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
Because I was gonna say, Danny, if you're anything like
Cavino the many you tell him to do something, he
won't do a watch, Hey, do your tyson impression? No,
I don't want to.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
Now you mean karaoke? Uh no, hell no, I hate
So thank you guys for hanging out with us. Thanks
for liking our clips. It means a lot for some
reason that matters. Yeah, I don't like him, and you'll
see more of the Henry Winkler stuff on over promised
next week, by the way, because we talked sports with
him and he has some cool happy day stories and
(26:13):
some other things about the Lakers and basketball. So that'll
be next week on over promise. But appreciate you guys.
Thank you for hanging out with us. You know you
know tonight, I hope you're having a happy day. No,
tonight is the premiere of a show that I'm gonna watch.
I feel like it's it's worth the chance. And it
is called Hawk on Netflix. It's the new Will Ferrell
(26:35):
movie not Moving, the show where he's a golfer.
Speaker 3 (26:37):
They were promoting it during the home run derby.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
I'm going the hell out of that. Can I tell
you what not to watch with your kids? I started
watching Hot Ones with Sewn Evans, you know, the guy
that they do the hot wing challenge that wings get hotter.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
Yo.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
In my mind, I'm like, well that's Will Ferrell. Sewn
Evans like, oh this should be family friendly. Nope, like
one or two wings in it's like all right, we're
gonna watch something else.
Speaker 1 (26:59):
So several great memes have come out of that show,
like Idris Elba and like there's like a gift and like,
uh it's other people.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
That guy shout up is really good dude, So uh
it's fun. Just don't watch with your little kiddos. But
that show Hawk Tonight got me thinking. Today is actually
Will Ferrell's fifty ninth birthday. I thought it was about
Andre Dawson. It's not about Hawk. No, I thought it
was about Ken Harrellson, not Sue. You would watch it
if it was that. That was about over the top, Yeah, yo, hook.
(27:27):
I like Will Farrell. By the way, it's his birthday, right, Yeah,
it's aid fifty nine today, and I gotta throw it
out there.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
Is it.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
Obvious what his top three movies are?
Speaker 1 (27:39):
Like?
Speaker 2 (27:39):
If I would be like, yo, Will Farrell, would we agree?
I'm gonna give you the three and you tell me no,
you're wrong, dope. I'm gonna say for sure, Elf, Yeah,
I think that would interesting. I'm gonna say I'm thrown
step Brothers. Yeah, it's gotta be the Stepbrothers has to be. Yeah,
that's definitely an anchorman. I thought you were gonna say
old school.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
See that's what you're gonna say. Talladay and Night say
that that's the I would rearrange those. I wouldn't have
Elf in the top three. ELF's number one. Well, I
don't know by far. I mean it's a Holly movie,
so maybe got more attention. I didn't watching that movie. No,
it's a good one, but it's like I watched it
as an adult and I'm like, this didn't quite click
with me as much. I know a lot of people
(28:19):
it's a beloved movie for a lot of people. But
I have Talladagan Knights anchor, uh, Talladagan Knights definitely Step Brothers,
and then my third probably would be anchor.
Speaker 5 (28:27):
Man.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
Yeah, Sam, I feel like you could be the third
step brother.
Speaker 3 (28:30):
Oh my god, I'd love to be.
Speaker 1 (28:34):
A sequel.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
I mean, it's so good. John c Riley, he's so good.
Told the story on our show, not the name drop,
but it's true. He's like when he first met Will Ferrell,
there was like a built in kinship, like they really
felt like there was a connection there, like and you
saw that on screen.
Speaker 3 (28:51):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
And it's a shame they don't work together anymore. I
know it seems to be some sort of weird thing
going on.
Speaker 2 (28:57):
But let me let me ask you guys, uh number eight, seven, seven,
nine to nine on Fox before we get to Old
School later, your top three Will Ferrell movies? Are they
as obvious as you think? I say, Elf, Step Brothers, Anchorman,
oddly enough, old School. I feel like everyone else loves
it a little more than I do. I think it's great,
but I don't think it's a top three, and either
do you.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
Sam?
Speaker 1 (29:17):
Huh did I know?
Speaker 3 (29:18):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
I didn't have in my top three.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
All right, well, let's go to I Loo for an
update and IOW feel free to let us know your
favorite Will Ferrell movies.
Speaker 6 (29:26):
Will Ferrell and I went to the same high school,
by the way, several years apart, as he is considerably
older than me, University high School in Irvine.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
Shout out, that's wild, though, you know he brings up
his baseball days at Irvine.
Speaker 3 (29:40):
What's the high school?
Speaker 6 (29:41):
University high school and Irvine.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
Yeah, he brings up how he played right field and
left field, never centerfield.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
He was never quick enough. But he actually talks about
that on Hot Ones with John Evans.
Speaker 6 (29:49):
And later at USC he majored in sports information, which
is like the coolest major ever. It's so cool they
don't have it anymore. But he got he got a deal.
Well I got some sports information because today, at a
taping of the Mind the Game podcast in front of
a live audience, Lebron James was asked by Tyrese Halliburton
if he decided about his free agency yet James declined
(30:12):
to answer. And here's the full audio of their exchange.
Speaker 3 (30:15):
Is still doing this? Is there a decision that has
to be made?
Speaker 4 (30:22):
Who talked about this? I don't know.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
I don't know if you want to do?
Speaker 11 (30:27):
Okay?
Speaker 8 (30:28):
Ok?
Speaker 6 (30:30):
And we have a fresh detail. Just moments ago, at
an event in New York City called the game Plan Conference,
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver was being interviewed on stage, and
according to reporters who were at the event, he said,
(30:52):
we have to finish up the schedule, and where Lebron
plays affects the schedule. It will influence how we set
the schedule opening week Christmas. So I need him to
make a decision. That's pretty funny, so we can finish
the schedule. Can I add one more Lebron James, a
little tidbit to your update?
Speaker 9 (31:09):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (31:09):
Did you say, by the.
Speaker 6 (31:10):
Way, you don't have to ask for permission to do
things when it's your own show?
Speaker 2 (31:15):
Guys, but if you don't know, I'm the king of
respect now and that will be your downfall, Isaac. Did
you see a fan was asking Steve Kerr what about Lebron?
And Steve Kerr goes we got him?
Speaker 3 (31:27):
Do you see that I did?
Speaker 1 (31:29):
So? I don't know if he's trolling or maybe he slipped,
who knows.
Speaker 6 (31:32):
Good for Steve Kerr. Good for Steve Kerr to try
and drive us completely insane.
Speaker 5 (31:39):

Yeah, so win some prizes.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
Here bring it at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.
Your chance to get involved and win some prizes. And
we're going old school, Will Ferrell style on his birthday.
It's the anniversary, Danny G of a very special day,
especially for people that love theme parks.
Speaker 3 (33:55):
Yeah, seventy years ago, right, Danny G. Yes, seventy years
ago today.
Speaker 7 (34:00):
Walt Disney went live on ABC for Disneyland's opening day.
Lots of problems, huge problems with heat opening in fact,
they called it black Sunday. Walt even referred to it
as that one of the big issues, one hundred and
one degree heat melting asphalt, women's heels sinking into the pavement,
which plus water fountains weren't working. So our question is,
(34:22):
what's the craziest experiences you've ever had with summer heat?
Speaker 2 (34:26):
Summer heat experiences, crazy moments, the time you were stranded
on a desert and you needed water, unbearable summer moments. Yeah,
I'll kick on off of you, guys. My wife and
I decided we were living on the East Coast of
the time. I'm a big Mets fan. I said, Yo,
let's go down to DC. We'll do a little DC weekend.
See some museums, got for some nice dinners, and the
Mets are playing the National sounds like a perfect weekend.
(34:49):
It was a heat wave to the point where the
ushers at the stadium had to wipe down every seat
with like ice cold rags.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
Because it was burning women's.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
Legs, rich's pants caught off fire. It's weird, I thought.
I was like, Oh, I combusted it the fire. We'll
take your feedback next right here on CIAW seventy years ago,
Walt Disney went live on the air with ABC for
(35:23):
Disneyland's opening day, but he called it, what was it,
black Black Sunda Sunday. Yeah, because of so many problems.
The heat was causing and it was one hundred and
one degrees melting asphalt. Women's heels are sinking into the pavement,
water fountains weren't working. It was also a rushed job,
like if you ever watched How Disney Built America or
(35:44):
whatever it's called. I've watched a lot of these specials.
Obviously we weren't alive. When you're a history boy, I
am history boy. But the lead up was like years
in the making, where like once a week Walt would
hop on the ABC and give the update on where
they were in the theme park, just to get the
world to get our country hyped up about the opening.
(36:05):
And it was a deadline and it had to be
opened at a certain point because it was investors involved
and everything else.
Speaker 1 (36:11):
So they did this rush job.
Speaker 2 (36:13):
It turned out to be a really hot experience and
it didn't go according to plan. But rich just think
about this, you know, back in the day, you tune
in just to get the update on this fantasy getaway
that you're gonna have to get to someday, Like where
are they on this what Disneyland thing?
Speaker 7 (36:26):
Yeah, I was gonna mention some of the asphalt was
poured the morning prior the day before the opening at
the last minute, and there was a plumber strike going on,
which is why a lot of the plumbing wasn't finished
in the park.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
Oh, and it was like a budget issued the like
do we spend it on plumbing or what are founds?
Speaker 2 (36:42):
Like?
Speaker 3 (36:43):
There was like they had to figure out what to
use the money on and everything.
Speaker 7 (36:46):
So well in twenty eight thousand counterfeit tickets because they
were just like the county fair style ticket books.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
Right when the park for Shirley Temple was there, I
believe like all the celebrities and who's who were there
for the opening that they didn't take your picture as
your way to get in, and.
Speaker 3 (37:03):
It was like people take it. I'm sure.
Speaker 8 (37:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (37:04):
The heat obviously was one of the big issues. It
just made everything worse.
Speaker 2 (37:07):
So based on this like the heat and how how
much it impacted the historical opening, we're asking you about
your crazy experiences that involved the summer heat, like unbearable
moments summer heat are you. Are you a bigger fan
of Disneyland or Walt disney World? You know, man, they
(37:29):
both have their own vibe first of all, different castles
as we know. But like I don't know if I
don't know if everyone does know that because I learned that,
like a couple of years ago.
Speaker 7 (37:37):
My daughter told me, well, you guys are East Coasters,
and sometimes people from the East Coast prefer disney World.
Speaker 2 (37:42):
Well, disney World's a more ridiculous, enormous like disney World's
far superior because they're.
Speaker 3 (37:48):
Mass because they didn't have restrictions on the land.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
And it's four theme parks, right that he turned the
swamp land into Disneyland is more quaint and unpacked, and
there's something really charming. Yeah, there's there's something less of
your dad. And you got little kids with you.
Speaker 1 (38:06):
Disney World will could Waterline kill you?
Speaker 10 (38:09):
What?
Speaker 2 (38:09):
Disney Lands like you could? You could do Disneyland in
a day with your kid. There's two parks.
Speaker 1 (38:13):
I did Disneyland for the first time in my life
in March. I had a great time.
Speaker 3 (38:16):
Adult. It's great.
Speaker 1 (38:17):
I went to disney World when I was one year old.
It's too massive, but I was wondering. I don't remember it.
I was a baby, but I had never been to
disney Land.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
I love Epcot Center, which originally was supposed to be
a real city concept that Walt had in mind where
they did the bubble. Yeah, but it wasn't supposed to
be like this tour around the world. It was supposed
to be a living concept, like if you look up
Danny g if you have the acronym of Epcot was
like like some sort of futuristic concept that.
Speaker 3 (38:44):
It was supposed to be a big futuristic city city.
Speaker 2 (38:47):
And then his brother made it into this, you know,
around the world sort of thing and paid tribute to
his ideas and everything. Walt disney World, Walt disney World's
a massive complex of four theme parks. Walt Disneyland's very
cute but opened on this day on ABC and with
disastrous Before you share your miserable summer heat stories, because
the last month East Coast, Midwest, West coast, we keep
(39:09):
taking terms of who has the most unbearable heat.
Speaker 1 (39:11):
I was down in Texas. It's disgusting, like the humidity.
Speaker 3 (39:14):
It's the humidity that'll get you.
Speaker 1 (39:18):
It's honestly, it's terrible. It really is not the heat.
I did say one thing about Disney.
Speaker 3 (39:22):
Two things.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
Number one, I hate when people say don't take your
kids until they're older, because they won't even know.
Speaker 2 (39:29):
It's it's for you too. It's for the family. It's
for the experiences. If you have the money, cares.
Speaker 7 (39:35):
Kids have file folders in their brain and that memory
stays in their weather. It's top of their mind or
that was.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
You're one like me, I don't remember Disney World. No,
but but you know your parents took you.
Speaker 3 (39:44):
Yeah, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
People will say, people will love to say, don't take
your kids when they're young. It's a wasteed no, because
you're creating family memories. So even if it's for you
more than your kid, do it. Number two, I really
believe that if you have the resources. I know not
everyone does, but if you're gonna go to Disney, I
saw a list online. There's these guys that do a podcast.
(40:05):
What is it the makeshift? Yeah, makeshift properly a couple
of cool dudes that do a podcast.
Speaker 3 (40:10):
I like them.
Speaker 2 (40:11):
I see them on Instagram all the time. They compare
I'm at the super Bowl. Yeah, we saw him at
a radio rows Well Media Center. They went through what
the price of Disney World for a family cost, and
they compared what other trips you could go on around
the world, and it was like live, you know, spend
a few weeks in uh you know, on a hut
over the ocean in uh where Bora, ye, yeah, and
(40:35):
the Maldives, or go on a month long trip throughout Asia.
Like you could do all these things for what a
cost to bring your family to Disney for between.
Speaker 1 (40:43):
Twelve and twenty thousand dollars to have like a week
at Disney World.
Speaker 3 (40:47):
It's absurd.
Speaker 2 (40:48):
But I will say, if you're gonna spend all that money,
I'm telling you you're already spending all that money. Spend
the extra few hundred a person for the unlimited fast
pass because waiting in line, when you're already spending all
that money and you're already aggravated and it's already hot.
Even if it's an extra three four hundred dollars a person,
you're already spending so much money.
Speaker 3 (41:08):
What's that even more?
Speaker 10 (41:10):
Now?
Speaker 1 (41:10):
Right?
Speaker 3 (41:11):
It's worth it in every way.
Speaker 2 (41:13):
I have two summer heat stories that I'll share with you.
One is just like a person I'm like, oh man,
how weak, right, because it gets in the way sometimes,
so darn hot, You're like, ah, this is not fun
or funny eight seven, seven ninety nine one Fox. My
daughter was born during the two thousand and nine World Series.
Literally she was born the day before, so she was
(41:33):
born on the second they won on the third two
thousand and nine. It's a curse of your teenage daughter, right,
So I always Yankee said the Yankees have it one
since his daughter was you were born when the Yankees
won it all. I got pictures of me at the
hospital like with you know, holding.
Speaker 3 (41:48):
The baby like Yankees one.
Speaker 2 (41:50):
And in that moment, God said, I blessed you with
a beautiful, healthy daughter and the Yankees curse of Melody, right, yeah,
But I waited for a long time. This is about
maybe three years ago. She's about thirteen maybe, And I
waited for a long long time because we live here
in LA and every time we're back east, it's not
like we have time to go to the Bronx, right.
(42:10):
I'm there to see family, and we finally get to
Yankee Stadium, I'm like, Melody, this is it. You know,
we could break the curse, but I'm taking you to
your first Yankees game. The Yankees mean so much to dad.
The last time they won is when you were born.
Let's go, dude. I think I went on the hottest
day of the year. The sun was just unbearable. It
(42:32):
was like one hundred and nine degrees out, sweaty ass weather,
like we're just dying in the sun, like there was
nothing covering us, just out there frying.
Speaker 3 (42:40):
Like it was just horrible.
Speaker 2 (42:42):
We're just ruin, completely ruin the experience where all you
want is your kids to like feel the vibes of
the ballpark and enjoy and embrace the moment. A day
like that, I told you miserable. I told you before
we hit that last commercial. My wife and I took
a DC weekend, said let's go to some museums. We'll
stay at a nice hotel in the time, nice dinners
before we had kids. And I said, the Mets are
(43:02):
playing the Nationals, we'll check out a game before we
head back. That the ushers in the stadium had to
wipe down the seats with like an ice ice cold
cloth because women were burning their legs on the chairs.
Had third degree burns on his cheeks till this day,
till the chek because I was wearing my little dazy
dukes till this day.
Speaker 3 (43:20):
Yeah, burnt thighs, Isaac. It was a sad day.
Speaker 2 (43:23):
And I remember heard I drinking ice tomorrow, like the
the ice, like the slushy margaritas, because it was the
only thing that would cool us down.
Speaker 1 (43:31):
Ruin.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
So yeah, So now if I say, nol, you want
to go to the Bronx, watch a Yankee game, like
heard the fall answers, like last time wasn't all that
awesome And that's what that's just disheartening.
Speaker 1 (43:41):
Can I tell you the the only worst place to
be in the heat than a game, because the game
is the worst, especially with just cooking at the sun shame.
A ballgame in the heat is second only to one
other place in the heat, the zoo. I remember you
had a little interaction with the heat and the petting
zoo recently ran dude. I mean it was hot down there.
(44:02):
That was all right because it was like we were
only there an hour or so.
Speaker 2 (44:05):
But I if you've been to the San Diego Zoo,
the Bronx zoo, if you go to the zoo, because
there's so much walking, the heat, the smells, that everything
about being at a zoo on like one hundred degree day.
Speaker 3 (44:18):
The only thing worse than than being at a baseball game.
Speaker 1 (44:21):
Oh is that why you always say you're gonna have
hot monkey sucks tonight.
Speaker 2 (44:26):
I always wondered, why so dumb? But zoo number one,
baseball game number two. You could say theme park, but
some of them are water ridge. You can get cooled off.
You don't mind if you get like but I really
think that the worst place is on earth to beate
zoo and a baseball No. You know what, Rich is
making a great point.
Speaker 8 (44:44):
You know why.
Speaker 2 (44:45):
Here's another reason why it sucks to go to the
zoo when it's blaring hot out because you're going there
to see all these animals and they're all in their
little cave.
Speaker 3 (44:53):
They're hiding. You know, the tigers should be, but even
the tiger doesn't want to get out about in some
parts of the country.
Speaker 7 (45:01):
The very beginning of college football season, one of my
step sons was accepted to Oklahoma, so he's a Sooner.
We're all excited. We go out there for one of
their first home games. It was like we're standing in
the stands. It was like our faces were in front
of a fireplace and the girls all had those portable
fans right in front of their faces because they were
(45:22):
cake face trying not to have their face melt off.
Speaker 1 (45:25):
And there were stretchers. There were kids on college students
on stretchers being brought to this makeshift er down at
the bottom of the stadium and we're watching people being
stretchered in from heat exhaustion.
Speaker 3 (45:38):
Oh, it was insane.
Speaker 2 (45:39):
Concerts, deserts, you know, summer I think of like my
summer football practices when you're dying in the heat.
Speaker 1 (45:46):
What about Sam? What about Sam's wild days at Coachella,
Sam's wild days wherever you were? Yeah, you got a
story sid quickly. Yeah, so gues being stuck at the Zoo,
the ballpark, those are hot places. It was a summer
of twenty ten.
Speaker 3 (46:01):
The Zoo.
Speaker 2 (46:01):
I just paid Sam like this zoom closing and he's
caught it like a capture. Was so hot he dove
in with the pangins in polar rear just to cool off,
and then he got trapped.
Speaker 3 (46:12):
I was.
Speaker 1 (46:12):
I was spending the summer of twenty ten with my
sister doing an internship outside of Philadelphia Parks and rec
internship actually where it was very hot and I was
like re relocating hostas and stuff and deweeding. Anyway, my
sister and I go to visit a friend in Nantucket,
very fancy place. We're driving back from Nantucket to Philly
and we're stuck on the I ninety five, the Cross
(46:33):
Bronx Expressway Cross Bronx and we went. We went five
miles in three hours. Five miles and three hours.
Speaker 3 (46:38):
It was so hot.
Speaker 1 (46:39):
It was like late July. And my sister's like, I
have to go to the bathroom. And she was like,
we can't go anywhere. We're stuck in the middle of
like four lanes of traffic. It was not moving at all,
So she had to We took this just go man.
Speaker 3 (46:50):
No, we took this.
Speaker 1 (46:51):
This this beer we bought at the Cisco Brewery in Nantucket.
She's like, I'm gonna have to drink this beer in
the car and then use the empty.
Speaker 3 (46:58):
Can to use the bathroom.
Speaker 1 (47:01):
Come to make it worse, the air conditioning had a
crack in like this the tank, so the a C
was going, it would go for five minutes, and they
would die off for fifteen minutes and go for five minutes.
Speaker 3 (47:09):
And we were like, this is the worst.
Speaker 1 (47:11):
We were exhausted, we're hot and.
Speaker 3 (47:16):
You're aggravated. Yes, we're all right.
Speaker 2 (47:19):
So we got more stories, but we want to get
you involved. That's what we do on Thursdays. So on
this day he sort of ruined the grand opening of
Walt Disneyland. Yeah, one of the fact disney Land and
Walt disney World. So it was one of the factors
when Disneyland opened. What are your heat stories?
Speaker 4 (47:36):
Is there?
Speaker 3 (47:37):
Is there nothing?
Speaker 2 (47:37):
Whereas the Sam brought up something mildly, but he would
talked about his you know beer can story.
Speaker 3 (47:42):
But in a car.
Speaker 1 (47:43):
Have you ever been in an old car where a
person like, sorry, don't have a c and you're.
Speaker 3 (47:47):
Like, what, oh, yeah, their windows are rolled down?
Speaker 1 (47:49):
Try what you ever going to an uber and you're like,
you'll do, turn on the air. What are we doing here?
But yeah, being in your car and said, rich, turn
the air, turn on the air. Let's go to let's
start in Miami. Vaughn, vaughn, what's up? What up?
Speaker 3 (48:03):
Vn?
Speaker 12 (48:04):
And gentlemen, gentlemen, how are your day?
Speaker 1 (48:05):
What's up?
Speaker 8 (48:05):
Good?
Speaker 12 (48:06):
Beautiful, beautiful, So listen, My youngest son was about eight,
My oldest son was eighteen. He was getting ready to
go to Emmer University, and my oldest, my second oldest
was about to go to the military to follow you up,
and he graduate. So I knew I wasn't gonna have
a chance to get all my breaths together and do
something like this again. So while we were in Atlanta
for my son to go to the Checkers Colors check
out his college dorm, we decided to go to Six Flags.
(48:29):
He's breaths of six Flags.
Speaker 13 (48:31):
It was miserable.
Speaker 8 (48:34):
After the first ride, my kids.
Speaker 12 (48:36):
Were ready to go there again.
Speaker 1 (48:37):
We go home. We just here and you know, you
spend all that money.
Speaker 2 (48:42):
You spent all that money, but you probably felt the
same way, like let's get out of here. You ever do,
And I feel vonn on that because we've all done
something with our kids where you're like, I spent all
that money, so we can't go, but I want to go, Yeah,
like you ever had it somewhere and you're like, we
just paid admission.
Speaker 3 (48:57):
I want to just leave, but we just spent hundreds
of dollars.
Speaker 2 (49:00):
By the way, rich You know, this was the infamous
story of Woodstock ninety nine when everybody started riding because
they couldn't get water and it was so hot, like
the heat wave hit Woodstock and then oh fred Durst
started it was, you know, causing riots.
Speaker 1 (49:14):
Man, it's so mud. Yeah, so much.
Speaker 3 (49:19):
For five bucks for a bottle of water. And people
were like, we're not used to this.
Speaker 2 (49:22):
They were dying of thirst and heat five dollars for
so they started taking advantage of the kid.
Speaker 3 (49:27):
Did you know how bad luck?
Speaker 1 (49:28):
He went there?
Speaker 3 (49:28):
And he also went to the fire festival a few
years ago.
Speaker 2 (49:32):
But that's why they lit that whole place on fire
and tore it to the ground. And it got that
bad reputation because of the heat and the water and
the prices and everything else.
Speaker 3 (49:40):
Who else we got dandy, Let's go to Florida JP.
Let's j JP J only.
Speaker 1 (49:44):
Ponily what up?
Speaker 10 (49:46):
Hey?
Speaker 14 (49:46):
So we had a Disney passes when my kid was
I don't know, seventy eight, and uh, I'm working down
in the keys clearing a property for some vacation right
at those school. I got poison ivy the weekend I
was going home, We're going to Disney. I had poison
ivy so bad it's itching everywhere and you don't realize
(50:08):
you have poison ivy. You go to the bathroom and
you have the wipe.
Speaker 2 (50:13):
It was horrible poison ivy on a hot day in Disney,
you might win in August.
Speaker 3 (50:18):
It was you're blistering, How you're itchy?
Speaker 1 (50:20):
Or have you ever?
Speaker 3 (50:21):
I've never I've never had you've had poison ivy?
Speaker 15 (50:23):
I have not.
Speaker 1 (50:25):
Well, hold on, but you know there coincide. Yeah, but
this is going with the topical story.
Speaker 2 (50:29):
Now there's something called, uh like Disney rash or whatever
because of the humidity and it's so hot and people
are walking around that they're all developing this weird What
do you rather get? Disney rash or Taco bell ass?
You see, that's that's going around. I heard Bridge started
Taco bell ass lettuce diarrhea. Yeah, yeah, boy. So let's
(50:50):
go back to the phones. What's up down in Virginia?
Speaker 3 (50:53):
Donnie hey Man?
Speaker 8 (50:57):
All right, So in Virginia every year they do sand
soccer tournament at Virginia Beach. I coached my youngest son's team.
It's kind of like a party atmosphere. So you play
your games during the day and then you go hang
out and drink and whatnot. After two days in the sun,
the second day there some poison then throwing up cramping.
You bring my wife's grandfather who's like ninety. He swept
(51:19):
in both the hotel beds covered in sand, so I'm
throwing up into bed. We cramping, can't move my legs,
and my son comes up in the room. He's like,
you're still going to coach tomorrow, right, And I'm like, yeah, man,
of course you know this key.
Speaker 2 (51:32):
He brings up a whole new layer of Danny's idea,
which was on the anniversary of this miserable Disneyland opening.
Speaker 3 (51:38):
If you're just joining us.
Speaker 2 (51:39):
Seventy years ago, the opening was a big fail. Two
hot women's heels were melting on the pavement, which wasn't
even dry. Water fountains weren't working. When you think about
all these miserable heat stories in the hot of summer sunburn,
have you ever had a miserable like, Oh, no, someone
for god, we went on a family vacation. You like
your parents every year, go a little trip with like
(52:01):
your parents' friends and their kids, like a little Oh,
it's like my dad's friend and his kids. My dad's
buddy is like a white Irish guy Timothy Oh had
but he forgot to play. He's like Sam's complexion.
Speaker 1 (52:16):
Oh, I've been burned a couple of times.
Speaker 2 (52:18):
This dude, we went to a place on the East coast,
I know this one in San Diego as well, sesame place.
It was like a theme park, water park. This dude
was like a super white dude. Did not put on
one little anything of sunblock. He probably should have went
to the emergency room.
Speaker 7 (52:39):
Rich the same way. Our parents didn't give us water
bottles when we were kids. I don't remember them putting
sunscreen on us either, right, what it's not a priority
back then, that really was Now it's kids.
Speaker 2 (52:49):
Now it's kids either whereas some block or they have
like the little shirts like the guard rash guard. Water
was not a priority for our parents, my dad till
this day, I'm like, Dad, drinks some water.
Speaker 1 (52:59):
I don't like the taste, like the taste of water.
Because they didn't grow up drinking in the water. Yeah,
you know, so they didn't really push it on us either.
We would we would put on sunscreen and then we'd
be in the water and then it would wash off,
and then that evening at dinner, I'd be like, why
am I like a ruby red grapefruit right now?
Speaker 3 (53:18):
Then?
Speaker 1 (53:18):
Because it was just you were just it was smashing
returns at the sunscreen in the eighties and nineties, the
same way our parents were like smoking cigarettes in the
car and you know, doing all dumb stuff that now
we look back like they were smoking sections at restaurants.
What I remember, My mom had a friend that would
go to the beach with us and she would sprowl.
Speaker 2 (53:37):
She would spray like cooking oil on her some like Italian,
some Italian woman my mom was friends with that had
that like nice blowing Italian tan. She would spray I
think like missus Rosalini, right, Chris, she got lathered up
in crisco.
Speaker 7 (53:50):
Yeah, Colvino, you're the same nationalities as I am, the
same mixtures.
Speaker 1 (53:54):
So you know this.
Speaker 7 (53:55):
My mom would always say, ah, you guys are just
gonna get darker. She didn't never spray or put any sun.
Speaker 3 (54:00):
Screen on us. We just looked like Pedro Guerrero at summer. Dude,
you see pictures of dark did We didn't get red,
We just got darker. Honestly, it's so true.
Speaker 1 (54:10):
If you if you were a kid, Sam, a little
tomato head kid, if you were if I wanted a tan,
I had to burn first.
Speaker 2 (54:16):
Sam, You're I'm in between you guys, because I could
get a little tan, but yo, Sam, your complexion danger.
But if you're like Danny or Cono, if you're Mexican,
Puerto Rican, Italian, in the eighties and nineties.
Speaker 3 (54:25):
It was like, hey, you absorbed that. If fine, you're
just gonna get more tan because we were outside all
day back then.
Speaker 1 (54:31):
So back then I think we categorized people so incorrectly
of like you'll tan, you'll burn, Yeah, and that was it.
Speaker 3 (54:37):
Like it was like, hey, which one are you?
Speaker 1 (54:39):
Because like I don't remember ever, did your mom?
Speaker 8 (54:42):
No?
Speaker 2 (54:43):
No, really no, My mom was big on off spray though,
like off mosquitoes were skin so soft from Avon.
Speaker 3 (54:50):
You thought your mom was actually friends with the Avon lady.
Speaker 8 (54:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (54:53):
Whatever the Avon lady had is what we had.
Speaker 2 (54:55):
So anyway, eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox when
the heat gotten away?
Speaker 1 (54:58):
Who else we got? Let's go to our boy trip
in Vegas, buddy, yo trip Vegas in the summer. Sometimes
we've been. We've been in Vegas.
Speaker 2 (55:05):
We're walking the strip like from place to place one
hundred and twenty degrees.
Speaker 3 (55:09):
Jeez, what's up?
Speaker 1 (55:10):
Man?
Speaker 11 (55:11):
Well?
Speaker 15 (55:11):
Hey, you good to talk to you. Well, you know,
I grew up in South Carolina, so it's you know,
ninety five degrees one hundred percent of humidity. But I
will tell you this. You took my zoo one. But
the year was twenty fourteen, Las Vegas experiment Rhino two
hundred dollars couchants from a girl named Summer Heat.
Speaker 2 (55:25):
There we go, Oh, man, that's a that's a heat
experience for sure. Who else we got, Danny?
Speaker 3 (55:31):
Let's talk to James in Virginia.
Speaker 1 (55:33):
What up James?
Speaker 2 (55:33):
And by the way, Summer Heat her real name, you think.
By the way, lap dances never went up in price,
just shrink flation. Songs got shorter, now, yeah, songs got shorter.
Songs are not twelve seconds all. Who got the James?
Speaker 1 (55:47):
James, Hey, James, Oh, thank you for taking my call.
Speaker 13 (55:50):
Gentlemen, Thursday, James, all the time, every time.
Speaker 3 (55:53):
What's up?
Speaker 1 (55:54):
The commanders?
Speaker 13 (55:55):
Man, wonderful man, and you guys just got my mind running.
And two thousand and nine, Team Man, we went down
to South Beach, Washington was playing Miami, and we hit
up eleven the night before Man, and needless to state,
we ended up with the Southeast Sloop and we went
to the game anyway, and I'm gonna just got you
right now. They built that stadium purposely, purposefully because the
(56:20):
business sidelines is direct in the sun.
Speaker 3 (56:24):
We got such a good price.
Speaker 13 (56:25):
We were a fifth road from the field, and I
was like, this is amazing. By the end of the
first quarter, I had to leave the sea and the
rest of the game back in the shade, man, because
that sun pours on you, and it was a middle
of October and it just burns you out out there.
So spend the extra money and sit on the Dolphins sidelines.
If you ever go to Miami, now.
Speaker 2 (56:46):
You need to meet rich has Rich. You have this
hat now that you swear by, right, this ice helmet
Rich Wear's an ice helmet. No, it's not an ice
I said when when my wife gets migrains, or if
you have a headache I have. It's like almost looks
like a almost looks like a winter scully. But it's
an ice packed. Do you ever have one of those?
Speaker 3 (57:02):
Well you need it.
Speaker 7 (57:02):
You're a Niners fan. That call made me think of
Santa Clara at the time I saw a game there.
That's the big complaint about that stadium. It's like a
wall and the sun is just blazing on the wall
of you ever.
Speaker 2 (57:13):
See that thing that old people were not just old people,
but people do have those things they put around their
neck with the little phone fan, the neck fan.
Speaker 3 (57:19):
Yeah, my dad was in Vegas wearing one of those.
I'm like, what are those? But Danny's like one step
away from wearing that.
Speaker 1 (57:24):
Danny is a fan on his cell phone. Dude, I
know what I'm getting from right now. It's can you
know has a baseball? Can you know's the Yankee hat
with an umbrella on it, so it you know, my
big pit bull neck. I tried one of those on
it and didn't go all the way around my neck.
Speaker 3 (57:37):
I'm gonna find it myself.
Speaker 1 (57:38):
All those hats that are umbrellas or the hat that
has a little umbrella or the little fan built into it,
it goes right on your It's like not even a
lot of breeze.
Speaker 2 (57:46):
I saw my dad on our twentieth anniversary broadcast in Vegas,
and I was like, with my dad got headphones around
his neck, and it's those fans.
Speaker 3 (57:53):
Ain't too hot out here.
Speaker 1 (57:54):
You mother, got me ease.
Speaker 2 (58:04):
And upgrade your FEETA World Cup twenty twenty six. Set
up build it like Beckham, who looked really sad the
other night. He did, I mean handsomely, said, of course.
I mean he's super handsome and he still has even
when he's sad. Sad from living room to lawn with
the Home Depot and take that fast free delivery assists
the Home Depot where they know me by name Official
FIFA World Cup twenty twenty six supporters, subject to availability.
Speaker 1 (58:27):
They call you Dusty car Davis.
Speaker 8 (58:29):
There.
Speaker 2 (58:29):
I can't wait to see what this one hundred dollars
got me. I mean, if you missed, it got you
ripped off, if you missed the beginning of the show.
One hundred dollars, if you missed it's not a detail.
It's a washy guy. Yeah, but it's like waxing and
all the chick.
Speaker 3 (58:43):
You give that hundred dollars, you give me the hundred
next time.
Speaker 2 (58:46):
Oh man, I got duped. I went to the car
washing and the person asked me a question. I just
a reminder again, never answer the following question.
Speaker 1 (58:54):
How much you're willing to pay because the board is.
Speaker 3 (58:58):
So un eatable. It's like a New York City parking sign.
So yeah, I got a spot.
Speaker 7 (59:05):
That'll do it for thirty five bucks, then I'll tip them.
That'll leave me fifty bucks in my pocket.
Speaker 2 (59:09):
Fifty bucks max for a hand wash, by the way,
maybe to pay when you saw your hair to pay
by the way, but when you get to fifty dollar,
hand wash is like inside inside, vacuuming, cleaning, wax everything
or no, yes, waxing too, yes, nice polish, Yeah dude.
Speaker 1 (59:28):
So anyway, thank you guys.
Speaker 2 (59:30):
Now, well, let's take one more phone call about the
heat ruining everything heat crazy experiences in the summer heat.
Speaker 3 (59:37):
Who do we got d ng. Let's go to Taylor
in Illinois.
Speaker 1 (59:40):
Hey, Taylor, Hey, how's it going?
Speaker 8 (59:43):
Thanks to taking my call.
Speaker 16 (59:44):
I listen to you guys every day.
Speaker 3 (59:45):
Appreciate man. What's up?
Speaker 16 (59:48):
Well, I'll actually tell you a heat story that happened today.
I'd live in the Midwest, and not only is it
around like one hundred and thirteen real field, but I
guess Canada is having some wildfires and I woke up
to literally like a look like a bunch of fog
all day. So you're just you're in the heat.
Speaker 3 (01:00:06):
It's it's dangerous.
Speaker 2 (01:00:07):
There's there's people that are in parts of the country
they're saying do not go outside do not breathe this
stuff in? And uh are we mad at Canada for
not handling this? Isn't there like no, for real. I
feel like there's certain states they're like yo, Canada gets
us other control.
Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
I feel like some of these fires are like really
remote and they can't get to them, and so they
just let him burn.
Speaker 2 (01:00:25):
They need some storms against connecting the air quality. Thank
you for calling. We appreciate it. And uh, this brings
us to this Derek Cheater story. Now it's not about Cheater,
it's not about baseball. Really love Derek Cheater. I do
love Derek Cheater. He's the man capy Ton. He is
the man Number two dude own New York City. He's
a winner, and now he's a colleague of sorts. Right
(01:00:47):
he should do commercials for dude wipes number two. Well,
he was hanging with our boy, Adam Shine. Unbelievable, My good,
my god, you're talking about me fun sports. Unbelievable, Shine
on sports, right, Adam. We go back a long time
with Adam Shoe. I go back to college with Adam Shyeah,
(01:01:08):
that's right, unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (01:01:10):
We saw him at the last Super Bowl. He was
really excited when he bumped into you.
Speaker 2 (01:01:13):
Guys, I guess jesus. He's a wild sports guy. Right,
even did TV on the same channels as him at
s n Y. Yeah, Adam Shine is one of those guys.
Speaker 3 (01:01:22):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (01:01:23):
He speaks mostly in cool catchphrases. Give give me a
few examples, my guy, who's better than you? Yeah, those
are two of his favorite ones. So, and he's interviewing
Derek Jeter, and he asks Derek Jeter again, Jeter being
one of the most famous Yankee shortstops of all time,
(01:01:43):
the guy had the blueprint on how to succeed in
New York City. He asks him about his thoughts on
Anthony Volpi, Anthony Volpi being the current Yankee shortstop who's
had nothing but struggles. Right, And here's what Derek Jeter
had to say about Vulpi.
Speaker 11 (01:01:59):
Look, it's obvious the Yankees have made a commitment to Anthony, Right,
they're committed to but they're they're also not only committed
to him being the shortstop, but they're committed to allowing
him to.
Speaker 4 (01:02:09):
Further develop at the major league level. But the Yankees
are very high on on Anthony.
Speaker 11 (01:02:14):
I don't personally, I don't know him that well, we've
had a couple of conversations. I don't know him well,
but yeah, I think they're they're banking on a big upside.
Speaker 2 (01:02:23):
Okay, Now the takeaway here and what you need to
focus on is I don't know him that well personally.
I don't know him that well. He said it twice.
Derek Cheeter is letting it be known that I don't
have a relationship with this dude. So he's making it
known as classy as possible that look, they're high on
(01:02:43):
the guy, but I don't know him that well.
Speaker 1 (01:02:45):
He didn't have to say that.
Speaker 2 (01:02:46):
What he's saying here is Anthony hasn't reached out to
me for any advice whatso have you?
Speaker 3 (01:02:51):
Yeah, dude, that is a.
Speaker 2 (01:02:54):
I hate the phrase because it's used mostly in dating,
but when women will be like red flag to me,
it's a flag, dude.
Speaker 11 (01:03:00):
Right.
Speaker 1 (01:03:00):
The fact that Anthony Volpi listen, I hate the Yankees.
Speaker 2 (01:03:03):
I'm a Mets fan. I'm a said Mets fan. The
Mets are terrible. Even though Boba Shech has made a
sweet play at third base against the Phillies. Nice dig,
nice dig. They were two bouts of at first. I'm
surprised he beat him anyway. But Shine also commented afterward
and he was like, it's pretty clear what's going on.
Anthony Volpi's not reached out to Derek jeterter.
Speaker 3 (01:03:24):
Cause he'd answer.
Speaker 2 (01:03:25):
If you call him, he would answer, if you texted him,
he would answer. If anybody has the answer, it's Derek Jeter, right,
it's Shine's going off and Shine is absolutely right. Yeah,
I think there's it's not I red flag. I don't
know about that, but I'll say this, Cove, but you
got a sack to the captain. Fact you said, listen,
(01:03:48):
since Derek Jeter filling the blanks for me, because I
remember at one point it was d D.
Speaker 3 (01:03:52):
Gregorious was supposed to be the next guy.
Speaker 1 (01:03:54):
Here, and then yeah he was the next guy, and
then that never really worked, and then Volpi the good
it's just you know, his time right out. But I'm saying,
and then and then Vulpi right like two, there's been
two like guys that the Yankees sort of put their
stock behind. Since Jeter, I can't imagine being like, it's
like playing for the Lakers and not reaching out.
Speaker 3 (01:04:12):
Was just the next guy. Volpi was supposed to be
the guy.
Speaker 2 (01:04:15):
It would be like playing for the Lakers and not
reaching out to Magic or Kareem or the Bus family
and really trying to create those relationships publicly or like
you know, rest in peace when Kobe was here. If
you're a young Laker, you wanted to you wanted to
make an impact. I can't imagine being the Yankee shortstop
and not really wanting to have a relationship with him.
(01:04:37):
With the guy and as crazy, it could be a
matter of Vaulpi grew up idolizing Derek jeteror Volpi grew
up a Yankees fan.
Speaker 3 (01:04:45):
So maybe there's.
Speaker 2 (01:04:46):
Reasons of like you never want to meet your heroes,
he's awkward around him. No, man, I don't know, But
the question based on that, I don't expect anybody to
care about the Yankees and Volpi's relationship with Jeter, But
based on that, even at your work when you're the
new guy, is it the new guy's responsibility to reach
out to the older dudes and to win them over,
(01:05:08):
or is it the older guys responsibility to welcome the
new dudes and say, hey, you need anything, Uh, my
office is an open door policy, come to me, or like, hey,
if you have any questions, come to me, like, is
it more on Derek Jeter to open the door or
is it you know, Volpi's responsibility to reach out? Like,
how do you view those relationships? Because I'll tell you what.
(01:05:29):
I make it known to the young dudes that I'm
available to talk to.
Speaker 3 (01:05:34):
Dude.
Speaker 2 (01:05:34):
We have a slew of new people that work here,
younger dudes that work here, and I'm going out of
my way to be real nice to them, and hey,
I'm easy to talk to you if you need anything.
I'm not saying that, but I'm letting it be known
to my actions, Like how do you view those?
Speaker 3 (01:05:49):
Yeah? Those essentially whose job is it?
Speaker 12 (01:05:52):
Right?
Speaker 3 (01:05:52):
To reach out?
Speaker 1 (01:05:53):
We'll take your feedback next as we go to I
Low for an update.
Speaker 3 (01:05:56):
What's up Isaac?
Speaker 6 (01:05:59):
Just perfect timing which we'll get to in a moment
today and a taping of the Mind the Game podcast
in front of a live audience, Lebron James was asked
by Tyrese Halliburton if he decided about his free agency
yet James declined to answer. Here's the full audio of
their exchange speaking.
Speaker 10 (01:06:15):
Is still doing this?
Speaker 9 (01:06:16):
Is there a decision that has to be made? We
talked about this reason. I don't know, I don't know
if you want to do? Okay okay.
Speaker 6 (01:06:30):
Meanwhile, speaking at a conference in New York City, NBA
Commissioner Adam Silver said he would like James to make
his free agency decision soon so that they can finalize
next season's schedule. Golf, one of the Open Championship is
in the books at Royal Birkdale. American Jackson suber As
a one shot lead after a five under part sixty
(01:06:53):
five today. Meanwhile, you've got Rory McElroy already seven shots
off the lead after two over seventy two. Baseball right now,
Phillies and Mets are scoreless, top of the third ending
in Philadelphia. This game was moved one hour earlier because
of air quality concerns in the Philadelphia area. But something
that just happened moments ago. Bryce Harper of the Phillies
(01:07:14):
was miked up on the telecast while playing first base
in the top half of the second ending. He was
taking social media questions while playing in the game, and
he was asked by a fan, do you have a
message for Lebron James to come to the Sixers. Here's
what he said, This is just minutes ago, and let
me try that one more time. Here is Bryce Harper
(01:07:36):
on the telecast.
Speaker 4 (01:07:37):
Lebron James to come to the Sixers.
Speaker 2 (01:07:42):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:07:42):
I think he's going to the casts.
Speaker 3 (01:07:43):
I think he's going going back home.
Speaker 1 (01:07:45):
Is in his career there, But you never know.
Speaker 9 (01:07:48):
I think obviously they got a couple of guys over
there and pretty fun to play with.
Speaker 8 (01:07:52):
Got Jaylen Brown.
Speaker 3 (01:07:54):
So I don't know, you want to come to a
crazy thing, have some fun.
Speaker 4 (01:07:57):
I mean, this is it.
Speaker 6 (01:07:59):
Bryce Harper wain in on the Lebron James again. Then
moments ago, as he was playing first base in the
Phillies Mets game, which remained scoreless.
Speaker 2 (01:08:09):
If you missed it early on, we talked about Tyson
not realizing o Tani was a dude?
Speaker 3 (01:08:13):
Can we played one more time? I thought.
Speaker 1 (01:08:17):
To check this outan.
Speaker 4 (01:08:26):
Show Hey could not be here tonight.
Speaker 10 (01:08:28):
He sends his gratitude and appreciation at ESPN and everyone
who voted for him, Show hey.
Speaker 1 (01:08:35):
The guy right? Like you hear him say, show you
the guy right?
Speaker 3 (01:08:39):
That's great.
Speaker 1 (01:08:41):
So that was at the sb's last night.
Speaker 2 (01:08:42):
Now Rich to wrap up the show, quick reminder over
promised right after the show and Brainwave tomorrow for a
summer prize packing more prizes is the game that's sweeping
the nation. Are you on our brain wave? Plus weekend
hobnobbing to get you ready for the weekend? Of course,
lots of world come. But you're thoughts on should it
be the old guard that welcomes the new or the
(01:09:04):
new people that make good with the old guard at
any work. I think that's changed, and I'll tell you why.
It used to be new guys should make himself known.
But I think this younger generation is so socially awkward
in certain circumstances that he.
Speaker 1 (01:09:15):
Should totally reach out to Jeter Man. Yeah, but he
might feel weird, So maybe Jeter should be like, hey, listen,
been there, you know, I you know, if you need anything,
let me know. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:09:24):
I do think it's the responsibility responsibility of the older
people to make it more welcoming. Like there's a difference
like when we were the new guys, right, some people
shunned us, and then there was Rob Parker who was like, hey, guys, welcome,
be a Ron Parker. You know, you got to be
that way make it easier for these awkward young people,
like the guy that slaps a logo in all those clothes. Yeah,
(01:09:46):
I we'll see guys tomorrow. Until then or even there,
you maybe see you any over promise laying let's go,
