Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio. There's a big cloud
over today's game. We'll get to that nets, but first
it's time to say, as we always do, wake up.
It's Super Bowl Sunday. Wake up America. Yes it is. Yes,
this is Fox Super Bowl Sunday on Fox Sports Radio.
He's Brian Ohamandy Fermin. Were broadcasting life from the Farmer's
(00:22):
Insurance Fox Sports Radio studios. When you switched to Farmers Insurance,
you could save a bundle. All you have to do
is call one eight eight eight Farmers get a quote.
Today we are Farmers now, without further ado, My partner,
my friend, the brain to the elf of the man
who is super himself, Superman, the one they only Mr Brian,
(00:44):
Hello be howire. I'm good, happy both Sunday, see you
and everybody listening, Not to everybody who isn't listening. You know,
I don't wish them a Super Bowl. I'm happy some
Sunday now. I'm just kidding. They might be sleeping for
a little bit. They might be our audience in the
second or third audience hours, you know. So yes, you
(01:06):
sound wonderful, you really do. You must add something good
to eat today because you sound whit. Yeah, ready to go,
ready to go on Super Bowl Sunday. I love it,
I do. I busted out the top shelf stuff only
the top will do. And that's right, Chris on the
ones and twos. It is going to be a day
of apple, cinnamon, cinnamon. That's right. That's great, It's great.
(01:27):
And before we get going here, I mean, what are
your plans today? Because obviously people are frowning upon getting
together with parties, the social distancing and things that you
don't hear much about it. But I assure you there
will be tons of parties today and tons of chicken
wings eating today as well. Yeah, and uh, it's just
it's not the time for it yet. I'm not doing
(01:49):
anything big, not going to a big Super Bowl party.
You know. That's we're not out of the woods yet.
So I'm with you, I'm withpossible today. I don't have
any friends in Portland anyway, So I don't have any
friends about were there to Kentucky and slap you around.
I don't need friends anywhere. But you know, in years past,
neighbors have invited me and my wife to two parties.
You know, there's somewhat like eight to ten people. I
(02:09):
never really enjoyed it. I love the people and they're friendly,
but you really can't enjoy the game with parties. You can't.
People are busy talking, eating. Rather sit on the couch
myself and digest the game. It depends. I've loosened my
stance over the years because I used to be like that.
To the Max. I was like, I want to see
the game. I almost want to study the game, no conversations,
(02:32):
you know, that type of thing. But I enjoy watching
the game with people around, and I can always go
back and rewatch the game if I really want to
see something that I missed. Anything like that. So I've
loosened my stance over the years because I used to
be like that to the Max. But it's changed. You
don't have no no, here's a question. I hate to
put you on the spot, but I will our staff
here today. If you had to choose between one person
(02:55):
being Brian Fenley, Crisp, you know, you Van myself, who
would you most rather sit down and watch the game
with it. It's okay you you could embarrass him, That's
all right, I could handle it. Oh man, that's funny.
What made you think of that question? Because we're a team.
We're a bunch of guys together. But you know, obviously
you have your favorites. I know you do, and it said, okay,
(03:17):
I get it. Two guys is enough for me, you know.
I Chris just has a vibe of bro let's grab
a beer and just watch the game. You know. Chris
has a very relaxed vibe, which is good. He would
be good to watch a game with. I think vinn
A would be great to watch a game with. Smart dude.
I don't think vin A would be like talking your
(03:39):
head off or anything like that. Yeah, I saw a
game with you. It was great. You know it'd be
I would go, honestly, and if you want me to
to make a choice, it would be either Chris or
vinn A, because you know, Brian Finley. Let's be honest, guys,
right like, well, Brian fen and wait for me in
the car until the game is over. But you know, no,
(03:59):
but you guys, it would be great. I'm with you.
And I'd rather go to a concert with Chris than
a game with Chris. For some reason, I don't know why.
I think he appreciate that more. Yeah, yeah, I would
definitely go to a metal show with Chris for sure,
with air plugs, we no, you don't. You don't do that.
And you don't go to a metal show with ear plugs.
(04:20):
You're not. You're not worried about your personal well being
in safety precautions if you're going to a metal show,
you know, right, okay, But you know it's funny. Today's
Super Bowl Sunday, and look to some extent, you're excited.
You you live for this. I can't believe the NFL
found I got there, they dragged in the finish line
and they made it. But again, there's somewhat of a
cloud over this game today. And I heard the story
(04:40):
with Britt Read the assistant coach son of coach Andy
Reid involved in a multi car accident Thursday night. This
really puts a damper on it. And yesterday watching the
national news watching Andy Reid get off the plane with
the team in Tampa, I was scratching my head. I mean, look,
you got a five year old kid who's in critical
condition from the accident. His it was involved here and
(05:01):
he still went to coach the game. And I, I
don't know, I don't know what you do. I'm not
saying what's right what's wrong. But certainly I was so
much shocked a little bit. No, I'm not shocked at all,
Like really, just no. I remember, gosh, you remember when
Andy Reid tragically lost one of his sons and I
don't remember who it was, but it was some sports
(05:22):
talk guy and he was like, who was this guy
to go back and coach and blah blah blah. And rightfully,
so that guy got ripped for saying that, because here's
the deal. People grieve in different ways. And look, for
Andy Reid, maybe it helps him, uh function best if
he stays busy. You know, he could be a nervous
(05:44):
wreck if he just stayed at home and didn't coach
the team now or didn't coach his team back then.
And what could be accomplished at home really when you
think about it. Yeah, So I just think that it's
dangerous to point out how somebody else should grieve, right, Like,
if we're in the position, maybe we do the same thing,
maybe we'll do something different. But I don't think there's
(06:05):
one way that's right in another way that's wrong. I
just think we grieve in different ways. I'm with you
a thousand percent. I tell you what, It almost goes
hand in hand. When I hear sports talk people saying, oh,
this team should write to check book and by this
player and got by this guy and trait. No, I'm
not here to spent other people's money. I think that's wrong.
When I hear sports talk people say, oh, let us
(06:26):
spend the money. You know, there's always reasonings. Why don't
tell me how to spend mine? I wont tell you
to spend you guys, you know, I'm disappointed when a
team doesn't go after a certain player. But again, I
will not yell and scream and say, all right, they
should have spent the money. And the same thing with
Andy Reid. I'm not gonna go here and say what
he should have done. What he did that was hid
in his heart of hearts. He did the right thing,
and certainly there's been similar a track record he with
(06:48):
read he's had some trouble with alcohol and drugs over
the years. Well, I completely disagree with you Super Bowl
Sunday disagreement here. I think those things are polar opposites.
I will sit here and say I think that's a
bad draft pick. I don't think they should have signed
this guy to a free agent contract. I don't think
they should have dished out all this cash. I think
(07:09):
they should have dished out this cash. I'll say that
all day. I think that's totally fine. But it is
dangerous territory when you start telling someone how they should
or shouldn't grieve. I think those two things are completely different.
I agree, but it's also it irks me to tell
someone how to spend their money. You know, really, I'll
give you an example. I mean, Trevor Barrow was on
(07:29):
the Reds last year. I'm not gonna tell the resident
they should have spent forty million year to sign Trevor Barot.
They can't. They can't. They're in a small market. They
can't afford a Trevor. But I get it. I understand
what we're supposed to do. Mortgage the stadium. I understand.
I'd love to have seen Trevor Bauer back here again.
He's going to play for the Dodgers. I'm not gonna
go a nuts on the ownership with the Cincinnati Reds
because they didn't sign Trevor Bauer. Sorry, I would have
(07:50):
loved to seen him. Couldn't do it shoehorning Cincinnati Sports
into this. It's just because of Trevor. Trevor Barrow was
rent here in a five minutes time. Alright, alright, alright,
so we move on. So so basically we'll see what
happens today. And speaking of parties, I got some information
(08:13):
for you, you know, just just for your public service consumption.
Super Bowl Sunday one of the greatest of American traditions.
And maybe they should make that Monday following super Bowl
and national holiday. Maybe that will happen down the road.
I don't know. I like that stance way better than
your previous campaign of making it super Bowl Saturday. You know,
like national holiday makes a lot more sense than super
(08:35):
Bowl Saturday. Right, But I did say that in year's past.
I didn't say it today though. Okay, you're right. I
think super Bowl Sunday not a big deal because it
makes it an entire weekend process. I get that now.
It's fine. But making a national holiday on Monday, because
a lot of people's skip work anyway on Monday this
year might be different because people are working from home.
So snow, big whoop. But the second buginest eating day
(08:55):
of the year next to Thanksgiving, probably right, And they
say a Americans consume something like calories during the four
to five hours of the game is on TV. If
all of a sudden done, maybe about six thousand calories.
And that is more than Thanksgiving. And I'm gonna give
you a little bit of a breakdown. So if you're
planning to party today, I'm basically not but two slices
(09:19):
of pepperoni pizza six six calories, five kids of regular
beer seven thirty two, four chicken wings for seventy three,
one serving of cheese nachos to seventy five. I mean really, so,
I guess these are the Super Bowl favorites if you will, right, Well,
it's a day to indulge. You know, if you're a
(09:39):
calorie counter on Super Bowl Sunday, I don't know what
you're doing with you You're a fool. It's yeah, you
just you're no fun. It's basically what it amounts to. Um. So, yeah,
this is a day to splurge. I will be uh indulging.
You know. I might grill out before the game. Definitely
lit grilling out. It's rainy, it's overcast, but it's not freezing.
(10:02):
It's still doable weather here in the Pacific Northwest. To
get that accomplished, and then you know, it's snacks. It's uh,
you know, candy. It's maybe some snickers stuff like that.
The frozen snickers, the frozen ones are good. Oh those
are tremendous. I love the blue cheese. There you go.
You know. According to the Snack Food Association, which I
(10:25):
never knew it was such a thing, but I looked
it up. The Snack Food Association, Americans consume about eleven
point two million pounds of potato chips, eight point two
million pounds of tortilla chips, three point eight million pounds
of popcorn, and three million pounds of nuts today today,
Super Bowl Day. The last one that made me laugh.
(10:46):
That was good. Um, you got all kinds of fun facts.
So well. I mean it's a big day. It really is,
from a top to bottom, not just a game, but
everything surrounding the game. And I don't know what really
and truly made this somewhat of a national hall the
I mean, it's because it's the biggest game. We got
Andy firm and that's what made it in next. But
how come other like the NBA title game is not,
(11:07):
the World Series is not because that's the best of seven.
Those are best of seven series that matter you know,
it's Super Bowl, the biggest game. It's a festival, all right.
It's a carnival. Fun is what Sunday is. It's a
spectacle with all the commercials. By the way, I saw
something before the game. You could watch the commercials before today.
(11:27):
Why would you do that? Why would you go and
get a sneak peek of the commercials? I would much
rather see him unfold in real time? Well I would too,
But I think sponsors who pay big bucks for them
enjoy that because people get a chance to see their
product prior to get another shot. Yeah. I mean, hey,
whichever right you. If you're watching the game, you're still
(11:47):
going to see the commercial. I don't know why you
would want to ruin the surprise. It doesn't make any
sense to me. But hey man, some people have been
going downhill the list several years. To be honest, I've
got one. I'm not no. Last year the smart Pock
commerce show was tremendous. That was awesome, the Boston accents
and I was I love that commercial. But I've got
one fun fact for you, Andy Ferman. So we had
(12:10):
this during the week. Six percent of Super Bowl viewers
will be watching the game in their underwear. That's the
stat And I'm like, I don't know, I'm not sure,
but that's what the estimate is, is is that six percent
of people will be watching in their underwear. I'm just saying, like,
(12:30):
think about it. On the West Coast, it's three thirty
in the afternoon when the game kicks off, Like, how
are you in your underwear at three thirty in the
afternoon between thank you? Because you never got dressed to
begin with for the whole day, perhaps, you know. I mean,
I get it. If it's a normal NFL Sunday and
(12:51):
it's a ten am kickoff, you sleep in a little bit, right,
Some people do that and you're in your underwear you
watch the early games, right, But three thirty in the
more in the afternoon, that seems pretty late. Six thirty
in the evening on the East Coast it is. I mean,
it's kind of for for pajamas, you know, for being
in your underwear. I don't know. I might be part
(13:13):
of that six percent, though, you never know. I just
could be. And it's relaxing to watch a game and
you're underwear, it really is. But I'll let you know
what I'm gonna do. We'll do that. But there, there's
so much on tap today and I can't wait to
get started with you. He's Brian No. Get him on Twitter.
At the non star yet. Huh, Well, this is kind
of the preview, like the appetizer. Right here we go
at the no show and no show at Andy Ferman
(13:35):

About twenty one minutes pasted down. This is Fox Super
(14:20):
Bowl Sunday on Fox Spots Radio. He's Brian No, I'm
Andy ferminand we're live from the Farmer's insurance, Fox Spots
radio studios call Farmers Today for a quote and be
I understand that Andrea, the sports estralla is on the line.
Would you like to chat with Andrea? No, I'd like
to chat with Andrea. I think we should talk to Andrea.
(14:40):
I don't know about it could be either one Andrea
or Andrew will Aska Andrea. Is it Andrea or Andrea? Andrea?
Brian was right at to Andrea. Thanks for asking. I
appreciate it. Okay, I'm sorry. I'm happy to get it right.
I like how pleasant you are. Andrea. There are other
people that'd be uptight if you mispronounced their name. You're
(15:03):
not one of those people. You're what a hell? Should
I know what your name Israel? I never met you? Right,
That's okay. It kind of goes with the territory. I
try to go with the flow, right. Oh, great music,
Thank you? I call him Andrew Andrea. That's what I
call it. Do you make a living as an astrologers
(15:23):
as a hobby? What do you do? Oh? Yeah, yeah,
I'm a full time astrologer, and I have a niche
in sports astrology. It's sort of my hobby, my passion,
uh sports and astrology. I feel blessed to combine them both. Right,
so thought the selection on today's game? I assume, Oh,
what do you bet a weekly on sporting events every Sunday.
(15:47):
You've been on the NFL games, you must be doing
rather well. Oh no, I don't use my work for that.
It's more spiritual, like how people are going to do
their strengths and potentials things along those lines. So what
is your research tell you about today? Andrea, Yes, glad
you asked. Okay, we have Tom Brady born um August third,
(16:08):
nineteen seventy seven. Uh in San Mateo, California. Actually have
his birthtime eleven forty two. Am. Giselle is into astrology,
just so you know. And uh, yeah, Tom Brady, between
forty and forty three, you have what's known as your
midlife crisis. Got a crisis, per se, let's just say
(16:31):
transformation and the move to Tampa, you know, going to
the Buccaneers after all those years, um, you know with
the Patriots that that's a big shift. You know. Mars
is an important planet for an athlete whose energy search
and aggression. Uh so February three starting, he's definitely in
a strong um energy, high energy Jupiter trying Mars career
(16:54):
more confident, may receive increased recognition for influence at this time.
But the day after the Super Bowl February eight, the
Sun opposes Saturn. Cosmic cops some discipline, some limitation, So
that looked a little, you know, a little mixed bad.
My fellow Virgo birthday twin, Patrick Mahomes September seventeen, different year,
(17:16):
of course, and he's got some powerful aspects as well.
Pluto trying the Sun, confident, powerful, purposeful, can further his ambitions.
So definitely, you know he's coming in with some good
energy too. But I'm a little concerned the concussion protocol
(17:36):
he just cleared. Neptune was opposing his son is Mars
and Scorpio. Like Jimmy G that's a little injury prone
with Rana's opposing Mars. But he's very aggressive, and I
do like his chart. I'm leaning more towards Mahomes, and
you know that that's sort of how I see things.
And I do want to mention guys, mercury being retrograde.
(17:58):
I know Brian's heard of it, Um, how do you
know that? How do you know Brian's heard of it?
I've been walking with for years now. Yeah, we go
way back, that's right. And Mercury is a planet that
rules communication, and it rules replays and some travel delays.
And the last time check this out Mercury was retrograde
(18:20):
during a Super Bowl was the Janet Jackson Um wardrobe
malfunction and all the replays. So this should be interesting,
you know, not just the halftime show, but the Super
Bowl in general, with a lot of replays and a
lot of some confusion communication. By the way, Andrea, I
won two quarters in my Super Bowl squares that year
(18:43):
and I'm in Justin Cooper's Super Bowl square pool this year.
So with you mentioning the wardrobe malfunction of Patriots Panthers game,
could be a good omen for me today, I could
cash in interesting Okay, yeah, that's some interesting synchronicity. Yeah,
should be interesting to see what manifest So that, well,
you gave us all the pros and cons going into
(19:05):
the vagan can you give us a pick, like who
do you think we'll win the game? Well, you know,
I also looked at the coaches chart and I'm glad
you asked, and um, Andy Reid has a stronger chart
forecast than Bruce Arians. So basically, um I was favoring
um Andy Reid because his chart looks stronger along with mahomes.
(19:28):
So that's like a nice one to punch. But I
don't have accurate birth times for them, so it's a
little more tricky. But I was liking some positive venus
aspects Jupiters, like the Santa Claus of the zodiac makes
things bigger, more and better to um Andy Reid's venus,
which is kind of a jovial who's going to win
the game. Well, you know, I'm favoring my homes, my
(19:51):
virgo birthday twin. All right, all right, thank thank you
so much. We'll write that down and we'll see what
happens and maybe you could check in next week. We'll congratulate. Yeah,
but you know it's tough to go against Tom Brady.
He's the king of the daisy wash. You said, thank
you and thank you, Andrea, thank you. By the way,
(20:15):
do you know the time you were born? Andy? Do
you know that? No? I don't. I was born I
was born at night, but not last night. Yeah, I
was born at nine nineteen on November four, Yes, in
the PM, Yeah, in the big time. Yeah, you need
to find out andy information you need to know. Also,
(20:38):
can we get Vina on this. I want to know
this serious question with Andrea talking about forty three being
the peak, uh, you know, range of a midlife crisis.
Like I'm forty three. Now I'm just a little bit. Uh,
I'm a little younger, a little younger than Brady. I
guess Brady, she said August of seventy seven. I was
(20:59):
in November of seven seven. But my question is what
are the sheer signs, like the sure signs of a
midlife crisis? Right? Like I might be having one and
not even know it, Like what what is it? Are
you overcompensating? Do you do something weird? Random? Like impulsive?
What do you do? Did you buy a sports car?
There you go? I knew it. I knew what you
(21:20):
when you see an old guy with a big gut
job with a Corvette? No, I did not vene. But
is that What are the other signs of a midlife crisis?
An old guy with a nineteen year old female. I
think that's just smart. I don't know that that's a
midlife who knows. I don't know. I don't know whether
they called crisis. Maybe fearful of what the future may bring.
(21:42):
I don't know. Yeah, I'm not sure I got for
you here, Okay, what is it? All? Right? So, the
American Psychological Association says that neglect or of personal hygiene,
tramatic change in sleep, habits, loss, or game now pronounced
(22:02):
changes in mood such as increased anger, irritability, sadness, or anxiety.
That's only when Andy Furman says Julian Edelman is going
to be the Patriots quarterback, or that Derrick Henry with
zero m v P votes was gonna win the m
v P. It's only those instances, you know. So those
are those are the ones that I'm seeing from the
(22:23):
American Psychological Association. I've got another one here, what doing
a radio show at three in the morning Pacific with
the old Man for the Cincinnati Yeah, okay, I'll be
on the lookout for that. Really, well, who knows, I
don't know. I just think that, you know, it's one
of those things. It's kind of like people to throw
(22:43):
at the timeline on things, and maybe maybe it's just
one of those things doctors say you're going through a
midlife crisis when they can't really give you the actual thing.
What's wrong with you? You know, when you're acting a
little different. I don't know. Have you Have you seen
that be? Is it happening to you now? Now? I
don't think so. I don't believe so. It's not that.
(23:04):
But but it's the past in the future coming together today.
It's Mahomes and Brady, and maybe Brady is going through
a midlife crisis. I don't think so. No, I mean,
I really don't. I don't think there's no reason to
goodness in his tent. Super Bowl. Yeah great. I think
it's a great storyline, I really do. And uh, probably
one of the better quarterback matchups we've seen in the
(23:25):
previous Super Bowls really has. By the way, while we're
talking about Brady, I know we'll dive into this a
little bit more. You ever see the mean tweets segment
on Jimmy Kimmel's show, Yes, Yes, Brady was featured on
it recently, And I'll play just a couple for you.
Here's one for you. Check this out. I hope everyone
has a great Monday except for Tom Brady. Tom Brady,
(23:49):
these are people that tweeted him and he's reading them.
It's very funny concept here's another one mean tweets from
Jimmy Kimmel's show. Here you go. I hate Tom Brady
so much, but I have no legit reason to He's
a nice guy, but I hope they break his leg
it really is. I said, we'll pick that up because
I think there's a lot to be said about Tom
(24:10):
Brady and where he stands in the eyes of the
American public. Really is. He is my friend, he's my partner.
He's Brian. No, I'm Andy Ferman. And another quarterback is
on the block. That's next. But first, this guy who
should be on the block. He's the king of the block,
Brian Finley with the latest son Andy, Dad and Brian Andy.
By the way, your astrology sign, I think it's a
(24:30):
Leo because I think you told me you were born
on March. All right, On that note, Chiefs Bucks is
a super Bowl matchup. Finally, somebody laughed at that. Wow,
that took a while. Anyway, it's pathetic, That's why I laughed. Yeah. Well,
you know I'm related to you, so it's a reflection
on you. It's ultimately a diss on yourself. So the
(24:50):
super Bowl is coming up later today, guys, and according
to NFL Network, Casey quarterback Patrick Mahomes will have an
operation to fix his turf toe after the big game.
There's some season have turf toe, Brian Findley, you know
I have had oust you. My lightis on my toe
not to get that. Yeah, I almost lost my toe.
(25:12):
How what happened when I had this infection? When I
lived in Memphis and I had You were not walking
in Memphis? I was not. I was hobbling in Memphis
because I was hobbling in a wheelchair. I was in
so much pain trying to get into the emergency room. Man,
body bag? How did that happen? How did you have that? So?
(25:35):
I there was I had this big like pimple on
my toe and hard to pop it and it started
in infection? Which one the left big toe? Which one
wasn't the second one? And it's it's yeah, I almost
lost it and it would have been yeah. Really okay
(25:55):
that does someone someone said you have turf tongue? Now yeah,
well wow, what a joke. That was Packers quarterback Aaron
Rodgers named m V p uh the audio courage and
Brian really, I just think it's hilarious because he's thrown
out random jokes all the time, and then he's like, yeah,
funny attempt at humor there, Burman, leave the jokes to
(26:16):
me exactly. I'm the one that's the clown on this show.
Yes you are, yea yeah, no question about it. But
you are the king of clowns, all right. So the
offensive player of the year is Titans running back Derrick Henry.
The best defensive player goes to Ram's defensive tackle in
Aaron Donald Brown, said coach Kevin Stefanski winning Coach of
the Year, and then the NFL Hall of Fame class
(26:39):
and eight manfield headlined by Peton Manning, Charles Woodson, and
Calvin Johnson. In the NBA, the Lakers get by the
Pistons on twenty nine in double overtime. Is Detroit rested
Blake Griffin, and the Pistons free fall to five and
eighteen on the season. The MAVs disfigure the Warrior one
(27:00):
thirty one, thirty two. Luka Don Sich put up a
career high forty two points, Steph Curry fifty seven points,
made eleven three balls, and you've never made a three
in your life, even if it was at the rect
league level. The Bucks cut down the calves onest into
compo two points eleven rebounds and the seventies sixers acts
(27:20):
the nets one one oh eight duel EMBIID thirty three points.
And right before I said it back to you, guys,
I just want to let you know I got a
text moments ago from Brian. Oh, and I want to
read this verbatim. Hey, Brian, it's Brian No without the
yel want to binge watch episodes of Jimmy Neutron tonight.
I'll bring the art of chokes. It'll be socially distant.
(27:41):
Look forward to hearing from you, Bud. I'll try to
see what I can do. But again, I thought I
was like the last person that you'd want to watch
something with. But I appreciate the compliment. Brian. Back to you.
That is a good way to manufacture a fake text
from me is to put Bud at the end, because
(28:02):
I it's real, guys. I mean, I don't just make
stuff up like that. You're full of it. Really, and
we're gonna tell you what uniform this guy's gonna be
wearing it just about a minute. Yes he is, Brian No,
I'm in the phone. And by the way, welcome back
to the farmer's insurance. Fox Spots Radio studios called one
eight eight farmers to switch and you can save a
bundle on your auto insurance. By the way, we will
(28:23):
have Bronx Talk Radio with the amazing Crisp in less
than ten minutes. Right going on there, But we talk
about quarterbacks on that quarterback carousel still rolling along in
the Philadelphia Eagles expected to trade their quarterback Carson Wentz
real soon. And it looks like I guess Indianapolis and
Chicago the front runners right there. Indianapolis kind of desperate
for a quarterback right now. Well yeah, I mean, hey,
(28:47):
Philip Rivers is gone, he retired, Jacoby Brissette most likely
going to be gone. So yeah, I can see why
there's a a tie in with Indie and Carson Wentz
because Frank Reich used to be there in Philadelphia with
Carson Wentz. There's a rumor that maybe it's the Bears.
There was a Philadelphia TV and radio personality that was
(29:09):
tweeting about Nick Fools for Carson Wentz and then some right,
it would include more pieces than just that. It was
like an offensive starter and also a first round pick
along with Nick Fools for Carson Wentz. That would be
I mean really for it to come full circle for
Wentz to be traded for the guy who replaced him
(29:30):
and eventually ended up being the Super Bowl m v P.
It could work out that way. We'll see. I just
I don't know, man to put your franchises, I don't know,
path on the shoulders of Carson Wentz. That's I don't know, man. Oh,
but you gotta put them on Jalen Hurt. Is that
any better? I mean really well, I mean listen, I
(29:52):
don't think, uh, I don't think that Jalen Hurts is
going to be an upper eche line quarterback. I thought
at one time Carson Wentz was going to be he
was going to win Super Bowl. He was going to
win m v P. The season that he tore his
a c L. And since that time, I mean the
season he came back. He put up big numbers through
for over four thousand yards and had like you know,
(30:14):
wide receivers moonlighting as NFL players. They were more so
like uber drivers and like cheesecake factory waiters or something
like that. And he still put up good numbers, respectable numbers,
and he was brutal this past year. So I don't know, man,
I don't know which Carson Wentz the next team is
going to get right. And it's funny because as soon
as the guys on the training block here all the
(30:36):
dark clouds about this guy. And the reports have been
that now went A struggled at times with his ability
to forge relationships in the locker room. You didn't hear
that when he was playing. You didn't hear that when
he threw for four thousand yards. Now all of a sudden,
you know, every negative thing about this guy. The parallel
park No, no, that came out when he was still
with the Eagles. There were plenty of reports in terms
(30:58):
of that, and it was a mixed back. There were
some there were some anonymous Eagles teammates that ripped Carson
Wentz and then at the time there were a lot
of his teammates that came out and completely at his back,
like Fletcher Cox and they're like, no, it's bs, this
guy's leader. So it depends on who you ask, but
it was there was some of those naysayers while he
was in Philly, a lot of those during his time there, right,
(31:21):
And it's going to be happening with the quarterback. You know,
when the team loses or or receive is not getting
as many touches as the expects, that's gonna happen. I
understand it, So I I take those comments with a
grain of salt. I don't think they really mean that much. Now,
if it came from the coach, that's another story, all right.
And I don't think it upset the apple cart as
far as wins and losses with the team. But you
were right, he was brutalist here. He was terrible. He
(31:41):
had what was it one of the lowest pass attempt
percentages in in the National Football League last year, of
all qualified passes, he had the highest percentage of off
target passes. And listen, you could go with a lot
of different numbers, and none of them are very good.
I just don't know. I don't know. If it's a
(32:01):
confidence issue, I don't know, but it just seemed like
you ever know a friend of yours and he's in
a relationship and you're like, those two shouldn't be together.
That's how I felt with Carson Wentz in Philadelphia, like
they just should not have been together. And we'll see
if a fresh start helps him out. I just don't
know if he's going to be a much more confident
(32:22):
quarterback going somewhere else. But listen, offensive line matters a lot.
And even though he can move around and he's mobile,
that offensive line was brutal. It was banged up extensively,
and um, you know, if he goes somewhere else, let's
say it goes to Indianapolis. You've got one of the
best offensive lines there and maybe that'll help him out.
(32:42):
So we'll see, we'll see where he ends up. First.
I don't think the Bears have a very good offensive line.
They've been banged up quite a bit as well, So
interesting to see who gives up what and where he
goes and you see who gives a one. I mean
the Eagles ship they're looking for maybe a Matthew Stafford package.
I don't see that happening with Wins, I really don't.
I mean, it's gonna be tough, and certainly other teams
(33:02):
realizing it's it's a give and take situation trays of course,
but to give up that much for a Carson Wentz,
I don't see it. I really don't know. No, he
hasn't No, he hasn't been playing as well as Matthew Stafford.
So that's not gonna happen. His value is lower at
this stage. And for the Eagles to even say that
there's someone from the Eagles inside unnamed source, I don't
(33:24):
get it that that is a real dysfunctional franchise. When
you talk about dysfunctional franchises, the Philadelphia Eagles are right there.
I mean you there's a lot of them up there.
The Lions are there, Cincinnati's there, the Eagles are there.
I mean, you get rid of the coach I want
the Super Bowl several years ago. I mean, there's something
wrong with the Jeffrey Laurie situation over there. He just
if it doesn't like you, you're gone. Well hey man,
(33:47):
it's uh, it's amazing that, you know, the Eagles fell
apart so badly, so quickly. It's just three years ago
that they were winning the Super Bowl, and now Doug
Peterson's out of a job, Bob Carson Wentz probably gonna
be out of Philly at least. Um. So it is
it's so hard to maintain excellence. And that's why you
(34:08):
look at the Patriots. The Eagles are a great example
of why it's so difficult to do what the Patriots
have done when Tom Brady was there. Now tom Brady
leaves town. They plummeted seven and nine. But it just
shows how crazy it was even in a in a
division that was favorable. I mean, goodness, look at the
NFC East this year, Andy, the division winner was had
(34:30):
a losing record, So it's that like a gauntlet over
there in the NFC East, and yet the Eagles were
four eleven and one. It just shows how difficult it
is to maintain dominance for what the Patriots did for
as long as they did, how how difficult it was
with the Patriots have done for so long, and you
could substitute say they did it because of Tom Brady.
(34:51):
Think about that. I mean, that's that's the common denominator
that's been throughout the entire success story of the New
England Patriots. That that's why it was done. And you know,
fuel to that fire. Look what he did now in Tampa. Yeah,
I got a great defense, but certainly he really pushed
him over the top. It was he was the biggest
reason why. There's no doubt he wasn't the only reason.
He was the biggest reason. Yes, he was, just like
(35:13):
you have the biggest reason here we have the brains
of the alphab here. The i Q goes up big
time when you're here. That's what I'm saying that he
is Brian No, I'm Andy Fermant. Together we are Fox
Super Bowl Sunday on Fox Sports Radio, and even the
rats are partying today and we'll go there to watch
because it's Bronx Talk Radio and it's freaking next. Fox

Insurance Fox Spots Radio Studio. Call one eight eight eight
Farmers and you could save a whole lot of something
on auto insurance. So right now, let's go to the Bronx. Guys,
it's time to channel your inner New York Here. We
want to hear all the rationalities you can spew on
(36:20):
the hottest topics of the day. Here's something we like
to call Bronx Talk Radio, posted by the Great Chris Hey,
it's a big game. No, I will not it's a
freaking big game that you don't take it easy to
take a crazy big game. It's the big game. We
(36:40):
cannot call it anything else. We don't have the rights
to it. You gotta call it the big game. That's
what every say. No, No, I will not say that.
I cannot pay out the legal rights for this, you know, Nikki,
And then listening to you, we will not. I am
not calling my cousin Vinny to to legalize this lawsuit
(37:01):
or whatever. I love the superb Owl. Listen to you.
It's the big game we're calling it here, which pretty super,
isn't it. Well it's not quite so super. A Penn
State who was out here bragging. They put out a
great you saw this. They put out a great Twitter
image where they said a Penn STATEA has been in
every freaking Super Bowl here and then it's the small
(37:25):
print and says except for five of them, why would
they do that? Why would they do that? Gotta b man,
gotta bring the brand. But it's stupid. Well, let's let
to some people making some great parodies, including one from
a friend who sent me this. What's so quick, though, Chris?
Do you think they did it on purpose? No, a
little bit of pub little attention. They thought they thought
(37:46):
they were hot. They totally thought they were hot. Here, Well,
they did it and then they realized it was wrong.
Maybe that's what it was. I think they just screwed up.
They just screwed up with some brain you know, some uh,
I don't know, hidden brain power that they were using
over there. I think they just screw it up there.
But that brought everyone's a dunk on them. Someone sent
me one was like, the Lions have won every freaking
Super Bowl yet and then the small except all of them.
(38:11):
So anyway, you're talking about guys who screwed up here,
let's talk about Teddy Bruski, who, speaking of a Lion,
said that Stafford wasn't freaking tough enough to play for
the New England Patriots. You know, that's the one thing
as an athlete. And you know who told me is
Lincoln Kennedy. I once called him soft. He wants ter
(38:32):
a pro athlete. I don't know what happened. We would
just going back and forth one time when soft and
of a people I know and he said. That's one
thing he says. You could call me that I made
a mistake. You could say I did this, but you
never ever call an athlete soft. You out of your
mind for saying that. I don't know what's in your mind.
I would love to tell you, Chris, I would love
(38:52):
to and agree with Bruce Ky, but he's crazy on this. Yeah,
he's crazy. The guy won a game with a freaking
broken back over here. What are you talking about? His question? Soft?
That could say that his mind is no, it's not hey.
If you know what the if the Patriots were really
serious about being tough, like they say, staff It wants
(39:13):
to beat maybe off in more than a second for
staff It, you know, yeah, I will. Anybody who suits
up in the NFL is not soft. Soft. Speaking of soft,
let's go to a sad story from the Queens. From
Queens where a major landlord there has refuged refused to
(39:33):
really renew the lease of the last movie theater in Sunnyside. Terrible,
terrible news. But someone in light of this, no one
likes the landlord doing that, so someone changed the marquis
on the theater to say death by Speculation, starring Limp
bleep landlords. This has made the landlord so furious he's
(39:54):
skipping right past NYPD and asking for the d A
to prosecute who. I don't know, but he wants someone
to be prosecuted. Nothing going to happen, Nothing good happened there,
talk about talk about just what do you mean? You
can't take chance? You can't take the chat o over here?
That one caught me off. God, I'm still think about
(40:15):
staff it all right. I don't even quite understand that
last one. Well, okay, then let's get you one more
then for the shall we? So Christie Teagan got dragged
on Twitter this week, so she says this was started
off one time John and I were in a restaurant
in a way to recommend it a nice Cabert Gabernet.
We got the bill and it was thirteen thousand dollars.
(40:36):
You casually recommend that? Why? And then she spent the
rest of it trying to defend a cell and saying
that all the people making fun of her are actually
she has depression or whatever. I don't know, but she
and the right of the wrong on this man. It's
good to be rich, I'll say that, you know, Christie
taken and John Legend. Have you ever gone out and
been like, holy cow, the Bill's thirteen teams? Whatever happened, waitress,
(40:57):
I'd absolutely be trying to do that. I want to
get the tip for this. Ye don't listening to Fox
Sports Radio. They went from discarded to veteran. Leaders. Will
tell you all about it next, But first it is
time to wake up. Yes, it is is that time?
(41:22):
Now you better wake up? Right now? There you go?
All right, this is Fox super Bowl Sunday on Fox
Sports Radio. He's probably no, I mean deferment, by the way. Yes,
we're broadcasting live from the Farmer's Insurance. Fox Sports Radio
Studios called one eight eight eight farmers to switch and
you could save an average of four and seventy bucks
on auto insurance. That's a lot of money for a
(41:42):
quick phone call, don't you think average nationwide annual savings
survey data July to December. We are and now, without
further ado, my partner, my friend, the brains of the Alfred,
the handsome one. Yes, he is the one and only
Mr Ryan. No. I don't know what the six mass
(42:05):
is gonna do next, So man, what's up? I appreciate
the compliments. Man, you are You're fired up today? I
like this ready for Sunday, Sunday. Yeah, giddy, giddy today.
Now I understand that the pregame coverage on the East
Coast starts at eleven thirty am with kickoff something like six.
Will you be watching the entire pregame coverage? Well, I
(42:26):
normally sleep for a little bit after the show, so
I'm gonna sleep in for a little bit. I always
watched church online. There's a church I went to in
Nashville that I still watch. Shoutout cross Point. We do
a great job, that's right. Yeah, So yeah, I observe
the Sabbath if you will, right, and yes, and then
I will be watching pregame coverage. I love all that stuff.
(42:50):
I will watch hours and hours of pregame post game.
This is a day of ball, all right. It is
a holy day of ball obligation today. Yeah, I will
be absolutely partaking in a lot of pre and post
game coverage. And I will as well. And the big
question is what will you be doing next Sunday besides
(43:11):
chatting with me? Hopefully? Yeah? Well, hoops, be watching some
hoops and um, you know some recognized I have to
whisper this though you know I do, because you know me.
I love some ball, love football, you know that. But
last week it was kind of nice, right, I do
(43:34):
love the different seasons. I don't know depending on where
you grew up in the country, if you grew up
in a place where you experience the four seasons, you
might like it that way. I thought four seasons. Well,
it's follow me on this one, right, like you might
be used to. I like the fall time, and I
like how the leaves change, and ben Waite look forward
(43:54):
to the summertime and oh my gosh, it's finally nice out.
You might like that, and so I look at that
with the sports calendars. I love the football season and
I miss it dearly when it's gone. But I'd be
lying to you if I told you it's nice for
a little change of pace where you have more of
your Sunday's free, because I'm I am watching ball from
(44:15):
sun up to sundown on NFL Sundays, So it's nice
to get a little bit of a change for a while.
Don't get me wrong, I'm gonna miss it like crazy,
but a little change of pace not bad, not bad.
And I'll tell you something. Football not only it's it's
the perfect sport because you have a game once a
week basically, and you have that lead up time, you
have the Wednesday news conference that kind of gives the
(44:36):
hype prior to that Sunday game. And more than that,
especially if you live in the East Coast, you know, September,
you know, you say to yourself, oh man, there's not
gonna be many Sundays that will be as nice as this.
But by the end of September early October stuffs getting
a little breezy. To leave the falling, there's nothing better
than they go inside and watch the games because the
weather's conducive for you to be indoors and watch these
(44:57):
ball games. It's perfect, really right, Yes, um, yeah, especially
you know in the Midwest on the East Coast where
the weather gets brutal in the winter time. Yeah, it's
it's awesome, tremendous to have football on the weekends. And
today hopefully to whether it will be okay, they say
rain in Tampa, but who knows, but look out for
the cardboard cutouts, Andy Furman, you know, the cardboard cutouts
(45:20):
might melt today. He right, But these three players get
a second life and they're all on the Tampa Bay Bucks.
And while the Shaquille Barrett, Jason Pierre Paul and Dominican Sue,
all three were once deemed expendable and now they're a
very big part. They were a very big part of
this team getting to the Super Bowl. Sue is a
five time Pro Bowler at three seasons and your team
with the Dolphins they said get out of he had
(45:41):
a big contract. Pierre Paul came with that mediocre seventeen
season with the Giants. He was a bit fitting the
three or fourth defense. He was traded to Tampa Bay
for like a third round pick. And Barrett wasn't under
study to Von Miller and Denver for five years. He
walked away. So over the last two years, these three players,
along with linebacker Devin White, they had almost averaging three
sacks a game for the Tampa Bay Bucks and they
(46:04):
get kind of put in the shadow behind Tom Brady.
But a big reason why this team is playing today.
Oh absolutely, and I think they are going to feast today.
Book at that Chief's offensive line, Andy the reshuffling with
sadly Eric Fisher going down with the torn achilles. That's
a number one overall pick Eric Fisher and you've got
(46:27):
a completely reshuffle your offensive line. Mike Remmers goes from
right tackle to left tackle. More on him in a second.
You also have with new Ski. He goes into the
starting lineup at right guard, and we're expecting that Andrew
Widely will move from right guard to right tackle. So
that is a lot of movement. Andy. When you have
(46:49):
j PP and also Shack Barrett who combined for five
sacks last week, well the last game against uh the
Green Bay Packers, I just think that is such a
huge deal in this game. And to have your offensive
line re shuffled like that, I think Tampa is gonna
cause all kinds of problems with their pass rush. How
(47:10):
do you think Patrick Mahomes feels about that re shuffling too.
I mean he's he'll be He'll be shuffling himself today.
Well yeah, I mean, look, they're gonna get heat on
Patrick Mahomes and I think they're going to make life
difficult for him. And I just wanted to go back
into the hot tub time machine. I played this last
night when I was doing the show with the from
salam But Mike Remer's that name might ring a bell
(47:33):
This was the guy who was beaten like a drum
in Super Bowl fifty when von Miller went on to
win Super Bowl m v P. This was the strip
sack early in the first quarter from von Miller beating
Mike Remers. So check this out real fast on CBS.
This was Jim Nance and um Phil Simms with the
(47:55):
call here you go. Then it's recovered by the league.
Jackson for the Touchdowners Fawn Liver with the script sack
like Remer ships can't get there fast enough. Yeah, that's
the same guy who's protecting Mahomes blind side today. Like
(48:17):
that's a huge deal. He had no answer for von
Miller at all. Von Miller Super Bowl MVP because he's
going up against Mike Remer's and that guy moves from
right tackle to left tackle and we got a guard
playing right tackle like that, Andy, that can't be understated.
That is such a big factor to but but to
some extent it has been understated because the Brady Mahomes
(48:41):
matchup has really been the big umbrella for this entire game.
But this is if you're a football devotee, this is
the story of the game. It really is fishes out.
There's no doubt about that right tackle Mitchell Schwartz. He's
been out since was several months because of a bad back.
Rem is starting right at starting at right tackle. The
Chiefs of moving him out of the left tackle, as
you mentioned, and the is is gone, so it's bad.
(49:01):
And then what angrew Wiley moved over from right guards
to right jackal Uh, it's not It's not a good shuffle.
I mean, especially at this time a year in this game.
It's not good. Not good for anyone, especially Patrick Mahomes.
It's a huge deal, and I really do. I think
this is another indication of how the Chiefs are overrated.
And some people look at me and like, who is
(49:21):
this guy? Is he even watching football? Does he know anything?
And it's like when I hear things like this. This
is from Mike Sando used to be at ESPN. He's
with the athletic now, and he put together a piece.
He talked to current coaches and they gave their thoughts
about the Super Bowl. He talked to a current head coach.
He didn't specify who these guys are. They were just
(49:42):
kind of off the record, but this current head coach says,
I think Tampa has to play damn near perfect, a
damn near perfect game. Their margin for error is very small.
That's the type of stuff that drives me crazy. And
you don't have to be nearly perfect to beat the Chiefs.
They've got a completely reshuffled offensive line. You don't have
(50:04):
to play nearly perfect football. They have a chance to
beat them. They're overrated, and that doesn't mean I think
that their average or they stink. They're the team to beat.
They are the defending champs, and they pose a lot
of problems. But it's stuff like that when I hear
you have to play nearly perfectly to beat them, that's why.
But here's the thing. You didn't have to play nearly
(50:24):
perfectly to beat them when they were healthy, let alone
today when they're kind of disabled on that the offensive line, right,
because they were not indispensable and and unbeatable during the
regular season. They were not the dynamic team that people
said they were, although the record proved the people that
they wore, but they were not if you watch them
(50:45):
play right, well, they won eight straight games by six
points or less this season, and it's just like they
get the benefit of the doubt at every turn, and
it's ridiculous. To me, because I guarantee someone listening to
the show right now they were like, well they was
just board right, Like it's just regular season stuff, and
come playoff time, it's always something they always get the
(51:08):
benefit of the doubt, and I don't think they deserve
it all across the board and every single capacity. I
just I don't think there's as much separation between the
Chiefs and everybody else. And I also think when we're
talking about the pass rush of Tampa, the reshuffled Chief's
offensive line, I absolutely love Tampa to win this game.
I love them. I do too, you know. And throwing
(51:31):
the fact that it's a home game and it may
be a factor because it's not gonna be a limited crowd.
There's gonna be almost twenty three thousand people there, I
think that makes a difference. I don't. I don't think
it's gonna be a big deal. This is still more
of a corporate event and a home and the comfort
of playing at home that helps. That's nice. I just
(51:53):
I don't think home field really registers. If it was
filled the capacity, maybe, but the way it's gonna be
today with what just a little over two thousand, I
don't think that's gonna make a big difference. And you
look at that Kansas City Chief schedule. Yeah, it had
a great year statistically, yes, wins, yes, But the only
two games that they really dominated their opponents, I'd have
(52:13):
to say when they beat the Jets, so then like
thirty five to nine, and they beat Denver at Denver sixteen.
Other than that, every other game to me was a
nail bier. Well, yeah, they had a lot of them,
they just they weren't dusting opponents. And I just I
think they can be had. I don't want to make
it sound like they're just you're running the mill team
and like they're extraordinary, but there is not nearly as
(52:38):
much separation between them and everybody else. That's what drives
me crazy. Here's a stat if you want to give
a get a stat in their favor. This is wild man.
Uh you look at coming from behind? Okay, so this
is since the start ofen when Mahomes took over as
the starter teams. When trailing by ten points, their record
(52:59):
is sixty eight, three hundred fifty six and one. Right,
So you're trailing by ten, you're normally losing that game.
So if you look at Mahomes. He's the opposite. When
Mahomes is trailed by ten points in nine different games,
he's been eight and one. Like that's crazy. Like everybody
(53:20):
else has been losing percent of the time when they
trailed by ten points. Mahomes has won eight of nine
games when trailing by ten That's crazy. And more than
that in big games as well, in playoff games. That's right,
every playoff game last year they're trailing by ten points.
I mean they sort of thrived on that. Maybe there's
a and maybe that's why people say they've gone through
(53:42):
the motions and then when back is to the wall
that kind of come out and play. You can just
can't turn the switch on and off. You can't do it,
and we'll not do it today. Yeah. And I also
think Andy, where I really do. I think that last
season has been applied to this season too much when
evaluate the Chiefs, and I think the Super Bowl last
(54:04):
year is another good indication where Patrick Mahomes didn't have
a good game for three and a half quarters and
then he stepped up at the end, which matters the most.
I'm not taking anything away from him and what they
accomplished last year, but I'm looking at the entire picture
instead of just the end. I'm looking at the entire
picture and saying, that guy didn't play well for three
(54:26):
and a half quarters. Why are we thinking that not
only that player, but this team walks on water. They don't.
And I will say this, Patrick Mahomes gonna be thinking
about this and the Tampa Bay Bucks winn of Green
Bay two weeks ago, Barrett and Pierre pol accounted for
all five of Tampa Bay sacks, and that the offensive line,
which is decimated. He's gonna be thinking about that, no
(54:47):
doubt about that. I'm telling you. It was a sneak
peek last week with David Baktari, very good left tackle,
he was out for the season with the torn a
c l and Rick Wagner. He's a good lineman, very
good with the Lions back in the day. He's serviceable.
But he gave up a couple of sacks. Those are
drive killers sometimes, and to give up five sacks, I'll
(55:11):
tell you what if Tampa gets that type of pressure
on Mahomes and they sack him five times, forget it
like that. I just love that advantage that Tampa has.
The Chiefs do not have an advantage close to that
with J P P and Shack Barrett going up against
a completely reshuffled offensive line. You're exactly right. He's Brian No.
(55:32):
Get him on Twitter at the No Show. I'm Andy Ferman.
Get me at Andy Ferman FSR, or get us both
of eight seven, seven ninety, Fox at Age seven sixty nine,
Rapid Fire and bottom Barrel Betting in this hour Don't Leave,
Don't Go Anywhere, and an hour number three Nose Pitch.
But right now these guys are headed to Canton. Tell
(55:53):
you all about that next. Fox Sports Radio has the
best sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch all of
our shows and Fox Sports Radio dot Com and within
the I Heart Radio app, search f s R to
listen live. They unlocked the door will tell you who
they are. And just about a minute, it's about twenty
one minutes past hour. This is Fox super Bowls only
(56:14):
on Fox Sports Radio. He's Briban Nomany fermanand by the way,
we're live from the Farmer's Insurance Fox Sports Radio Studios
called Farmers today for a quote. Okay, Hall of Fame ceremonies,
and I'll tell you what. The one thing I'm happy
about is that my guy, my guy, Mega Mega man. Okay,
Calvin Johnson who played nine years for the Detroit Lions,
(56:35):
and I'm sure Chris P's real happy about that he
made the Hall of Fame because I think there was
some discussion at the time when he quit early about
thirty five years of age right now, when he left
the game earlily, he said, well, he didn't play long
enough to get into the Hall of Fame, but he's
in right now. Megatron Mega. I loved him. Yes, wow,
I had no idea, but yeah, the seasons that he
(56:57):
put together are just insane. And he ended up with
eighty three touchdown catches. So I would look at his
career as the voters did, and what he did instead
of what he could have done on top of you know,
what his UH production was if he had stuck around
a little bit more. Were this guy. You just look
at season yardage totals, touchdown totals. He had four seasons
(57:20):
with ten plus touchdown catches twelve, twelve, twelve, and sixteen
in individual seasons. That's insane. I loved it. I love
the the fact they look at numbers. They didn't look
at the team that he played for, which is horrendous.
They just look what he did on the football field,
and boy it was great. Five yard receiving years, great
(57:40):
and he ranks with still like thirty thirt thirty one
career receiving yards. He was one hell of a player,
and I'm just sorry he left too soon. But very
similar to what Sandy Kolfax did when he was injured
in baseball and they put him in the Hall. Well, yeah,
and he retired after his age thirty season. He retired
very young. We know how banged up he was. We
get all of that, but I also you have to
(58:01):
wonder where would Matthew Stafford's career be outside of Detroit,
And really, what would Megatron's career have been outside of Detroit.
You have to wonder that and we'll never know. But
what we do know is he had a Hall of
Fame career in Detroit and that says a lot. And
I'll tell you something. This sounds really stupid, but I've
said a lot of stupid things. I can't wait for
(58:21):
his induction speech because it's gonna be great. I Mean,
there are some people you just saying, I go through
the motions, but his speech is gonna be a horrible woman.
It's gonna be hard felt. It's just he's that kind
of guy I've seen speak several times, and it's gonna
be a great speech. I think it's gonna be boring.
I'm sorry to Sep the fire place. I'm sorry. Like
(58:43):
Calvin Johnson, brilliant career, I'm not expecting him to like
bring the house down with this Hall of Fame speech,
I'm not expecting that. Bring your tissues, all right, that's
so I'm saying, bring tissues. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.
We'll see who are you surprised with? With the with
the inductees, lest no one really. I mean Peyton Manning
was a shoe in. We all knew that. The one
(59:06):
thing that caught me, I don't know by surprise, but
grabbed my attention is probably the best way to say it.
With John Lynch going in, he was a great safety,
and I just wonder in today's day and age, how
it's policed so closely with a big hitter where John Lynch,
I'm not making it out where all of his hits
(59:27):
were helmet to helmet, and he was a derby player.
That certainly wasn't the case, but such a physical player
like I wonder if he would have had as much
success in this day and age with the way the
game is policed compared to his era. And he didn't
play in the Stone Age, but he played long ago
enough where I mean, they let him get away with
(59:49):
a lot more throughout the bulk of his career. I
just wonder how his career would have fit and translated
into today's NFL. You know, that's a great point, And
I'll tell you why I say that, because the voting
situation for the Hall of Fame in the NFL is
not really as transparent as I'd like to see who
it is. I mean, there are some writers I don't
know who they are. There are some executives for various teams,
(01:00:09):
and they get them in there. But you would think
that maybe the modern day writer would say, I don't
want this guy in the whole because of the way
he played, and that's not so. So I'd like to
see a little more transparency on the fact that who
votes into the Hall of Fame. And at least in
baseball you sometimes even see the balance of various writers,
(01:00:30):
but in football it's the kind of more of a secret. Yeah,
I'm with you. I've said that for years. I would
love for them to just have a Hard Knocks like presentation,
just whittle it down to an hour, maybe a half
hour or whatever, and just take the highs and lows
these media guys. That's putting them in a horrible position.
(01:00:51):
But I would love I would I would love to
be able to see and hear the arguments of some
writer being like, no, I'm not voting for Charles Haley.
He didn't get my vote, and and then Haley sees
that and it's this fire star. That would be tremendous.
I would love to see more transparency, but that is
putting the media people in a really bad position depending
(01:01:13):
on who they say no to and how those people
would hear it, Like they cout Drew Pearson like he's
just getting in now, the old Cowboys receiver. He was
banging the table last year not getting in. Can you
imagine if he could see and hear the arguments against him,
what that would lead to. That would be tremendous theater.
You know why. I don't know why they wouldn't do it,
(01:01:35):
But eventually I think it's gonna come to that, because
the thing almost it has to come to that. It really,
it really does. I mean I'd like to see that,
but you know, I just some of these guys. To me,
I think there are too many guys that get inducted
at one time anyway, I really do. I mean baseball
was crazy. I mean, no one got into all this year,
which I think is insane. That's nuts. But in football,
(01:01:57):
especially this year, because he didn't have the awards from
they're gonna have a double clashing in this year. I
thought that was ridiculous. I think it's crazy to just
be like, let's have this for a hundred years and
we'll at like twenty dudes. And I thought that was
But but I'll say this, Andy, one more thing about
the the Hall of Fame inductees. If you look at
(01:02:21):
Peyton Manning. I've said this before, but it really stands
out today. Think about this. Peyton Manning is pretty close
to the same age as Tom Brady. They're about a
year and a half apart, not very much at all.
But think about the fact that Peyton Manning has been
out of football long enough to be eligible for the
(01:02:41):
Pro Football Hall of Fame, and Tom Brady is suiting
up today like Tom Brady is forty three years old.
Peyton Manning is forty four. Peyton Manning is heading into
the Hall of Fame after being retired for five years,
while Tom Brady is still playing at forty three. That
is nuts to me and and Teed. Peyton Manning will
(01:03:01):
mention that at his awards speech, he'll say something about that.
You'll see, because the situation, he'll say something about that.
We'll see. All right, he's calling your shot here. Now,
let's not forget you called for Derrick Henry to win
m v P and he didn't get a single. You
know what, It's okay, you know, it's all right to
say something which kind of borders on stupidity. But I
(01:03:23):
don't think it was. He got the Offensive Player of
the Year, didn't he got that? Yeah, he got zero
m v P votes. Sandy. When you think, I'll tell
you why that, that's like almost voting for a for
a defensive lineman or a safety they want m v
P not that long ago. It can be done. It
can be done, but very rare. But again, it's it's
(01:03:44):
almost like voting for a defensive back for the Heisman
doesn't happen. Heisman is a quarterback trophy. No, that's it. Listen, Yes,
the m v P typically goes to a quarterback because
that's the most valuable position. Like why do we say
that all year and then conveniently forget about it when
it's time to give out the m v P award USUTU.
(01:04:06):
When Aaron Rodgers throws forty eight touchdown passes, he's going
to be the m v P. That's just how it is.
I thought it was interesting beyond Henry, Josh Allen got
four votes Mahomes got too. How about that the Bill's
quarterback got more votes than Mahomes. I thought that was nuts.
Mahmes had a very very good year because it's almost expected,
(01:04:26):
like when you talked about several so many times before
with Russell Westbrook, That's right, the second year meant nothing,
but he's already been there, done that. It's sad because
you get desensitized to greatness and you're just like shrugged
the shoulders. This is just what the Homes does. He
did it before it becomes the biggest surprise award. Where
Josh Allen had a much more surprising season than Mahomes did.
(01:04:49):
It didn't mean he had a better season, though. I
think it's crazy how that gets and the team had
a surprising season two sled by him. Of course definitely
we move on, all right, he is the man, he's
I know. I'm Andy Firmer. This is Fox Football Sunday
on Super Bowl Sunday, Fox Posts Radio. It's the game
within the game, and we call it rapid fire, and
it's all yours nets. But first, a real gamer, Brian Fenley,
(01:05:12):
I love with the death with the latest. Well, thank you, Andy,
I know you're a gamer when it comes to horse
race jockey circles. According to NFL Network, Chief's quarterback Patrick
Mahomes after today's Super Bowl will have surgery on his
turf to issue. The Cowboys have narrowed it down to
either signing or franchise tagging quarterback Dak Prescott. The franchise
(01:05:32):
has no deep concerns over his injury history. The NFL
crowning Aaron Rodgers as m v P of the season.
The Offensive Player of the Year goes to Titans running
back Derrick Henry. Defensive Player of the Year is Rams
D tackle Aaron Donald, and the aforementioned NFL Hall of
Fame class released it's eight man field headline by Pete Manning,
(01:05:54):
Charles Woodson and Calvin Johnson and the NBA. Last night,
the Lakers serpentine passed the Pistons one nine in double overtime,
Lebron James thirty three points, eleven assists and in Nannty
Firman special seven turnovers, the Mavericks desecrate the Warriors one
one thirty two. That's a final score. Looking on chich
(01:06:16):
a career high of forty two points. Steph Curry went
bonkers with fifty seven. He made eleven threes and some
of them close to forty feet. They were going in.
The Bucks take their fifteenth win of the season to
their name after hanging on and taking down the Calves
on adent to Kompo thriving in a double double with
(01:06:39):
twenty four points and eleven rebounds, and finally the seventies
sixers accident nets one one oh a duel Embiide thirty
three points, James Harden twenty six points, tent assists and
eight rebounds. As we've sent it back to Brian know
who does not want to watch any sporting event with me.
Apparently I am the bottom of the list when it
(01:06:59):
comes to him, and my video is the bottom of
the list, like your third in line. Oh okay, that's
kind of funny because he already watched the game with me.
He watched the Cardinals reis several years ago. I'm kidding.
I'm just joking around. You would be a treat to
go to a game with It's as soon as the
pandemic is done. I'm reaching out to you. Brian would say,
let's go see a Chargers game or whatever whatever happens
(01:07:21):
to be going on. Speaking of a treat, it would
be great to see Andy Furman watching the Super Bowl
and just underwear. That might be a treat for nobody punishment, right,
I may send you a picture of that. Please do
you do you have my number? Yes? I do? All right,
see you in an hour. Right, Rapid Fire coming right
up with course the fifty oddline what we call Fox
Football Sunday on Super Bowl Sunday, right here on Fox
(01:07:41):
Sports Radio, He's Brian noahm Andy Ferman and welcome back
to the Farmer's Insurance. Fox Sports Radio Studios called one
eight eight Farmers to switch and you could save a
bundle on your auto insurance. And right now, rapid Fire
time and the man that's doing all the Rapid Firing
for us is the one and only Danny. Hello, Vinny,
what's up, rapid Fire? Let's go? Andy Furman and Brian
(01:08:04):
No are locked and loaded for this week's round up
NFL Rapid Fire. Well it's not at the hang of
the intro and n and it's okay. We'll get it now. Yeah, yeah,
this is This is a surprise edition that I'm participating in.
I am sure about it. So we're gonna go around
(01:08:27):
the room. Here's here's our order for the picks for
these prop bets. We're gonna go Andy, Brian, Chris p
and then Brian Finley. I object. I don't like dis order.
Well what do you want the order? I'm just being difficult.
It's totally fun. Deal with it, buddy. Yeah, all right,
you're a spoiled a little. I'm just causing trouble. All right,
I'm just maybe in me. You gotta deal with time.
(01:08:49):
We start things off with a an easy one. Here
will a special teams or defensive Oh I'm sorry, should
probably say these all came from us, curious to our
friends over fox bet dot com. Yeah, are some of
your paycheck? If you don't say that? Yeah, um, we
gotta we got a bunch of them here. Will A
special teams or defensive T d B scored? Yes? Is
(01:09:11):
it plus two forty? No? Is it minus one three? Andy?
Kick us off here? It doesn't make a difference which
team does it? Though? Right? As almost the defensive touch
will A special teams are defensive T d B scored? Yes,
I say yes, I'm gonna say yes as well? We
could see a couple of turnovers, right, Like we talked
about the reshuffled offensive line, maybe a special team's return.
(01:09:34):
Both these units are not very good, Like the punt
coverage of the Chiefs is awful. So yeah, I'm gonna
say yes. Yes. We just came off an NFC championship
where Tom Brady had three interceptions. You're telling me there's
no chance for a pick six in this game. I
like the odds on. Yes, Okay, I don't want to
be that guy. But can I be a contrarian and
(01:09:55):
say no, sure, yeah, you are that guy. What do
you mean you don't want to be you are that?
You were pulling that way. I can't help it. Really,
it'd be no fun if we didn't have at least
one No, right, have one? No it's Brian all right.
Next up, goal punts. Total punts both teams combined over
(01:10:18):
under a six and a half. Oh is it is
a toughie. This is over six and a hit punts.
I will say over, I'm gonna go over on punts
over here, I really am. I've got the under on
this one. I think there's gonna be a lot of offense.
It doesn't take a whole lot to at least get
into field goal range. So well, I'm gonna say that
because of the field condition. I'm concerned about the field
(01:10:41):
condition today. I think we're gonna get at least a
punt per team per quarters. So I'm gonna take the over.
I'm gonna take the over because I think when it
comes to props, it's like I'm also going to take
the over as far as how many times Andy Firman
will oscillate from one side of an issue to another,
So we have to get both sides. And that's another
(01:11:01):
prop that probably you know a prop. You're a prop.
Well you're a clown, right back a prop? Al right,
Next one up, we've got total tds both teams combined
over under of six and a half. I say that's
easily over. We're scoring Frenzy today over over under six
and a half touchdowns ven a total t for the
(01:11:25):
to go over on that one. Yeah, give me the
over as well. You know you've had harder bets on
bond a barrel betting than this. Really, I'm going under
because I think there's gonna be a field goal fest
added to the touchdowns that are scoring the old goal fest. Huh.
All right, So now we're gonna go on a couple
(01:11:46):
of the individual who will throw more passing yards. Mahomes
is minus one eight, Brady is plus one. I'm gonna
go Mahomes because I think he'll be on the run.
I think he'll have to and I think they'll be
playingful behind. Wow, I'm gonna say it's Brady. I think
(01:12:09):
that the pass rush is gonna slow down the Chiefs
a little bit. I don't expect Mahomes to have like
a hundred and thirteen yards or something like that. He's
gonna put up numbers. But Brady against that defense, I
think he's gonna throw it for a lot of yards.
Give me Brady. I'm gonna take my Homes here because
I'm keeping my thread. I think that as I've said
in some previous shows. I think Tampa Bay is going
to attack on the ground to try to control time
(01:12:30):
of possession. So I think it's gonna put the onus
on Mahomes throw more yards. I've got a coach. You
sound like a coach. I think using onus just makes
your selection sound smarter. That was sounds like a coach.
Classes I I got my master's degree. I've got to
use it somehow. I love it because the Chiefs have
(01:12:51):
two offensive linemen that are not usually the starters, and
they're made out of duct tape. I think that you're
gonna see Patrick Mahomes have to run more, and that
means it's going to affect his yards through the air,
so Brady will have more yards through the air. There
you go, all right, we gotta wait aute this. It
was it more yachts through the year or was it
passing passing through the air and no, no, no, no, no, no,
(01:13:16):
no pass attempts or yours? Oh my god, this so complicated. Friendly.
That's why everybody's using big five dollar words here, Like,
let's bring it down to a buck five words and
then we'll be okay. I'm just double checking here, what's
going on? Okay, so I already know Brian's pick on
(01:13:38):
this one. But who will be sacked more times? Mahomes
is minus one three and Brady is at plus one
of Mahomes Ma Homes for sure, Ma Homes. Yeah, Mahmes.
I think it's gonna be sacked, maybe sack full or
five times today, maybe even more so. I think it's
gonna be Brady, just because I don't think he have
the mobility. Yeah, Like you know, if Brady gets I mean,
(01:13:58):
if Mahomes gets Chasey, this is the option to get
out of the pocket. Right, He'll probably have to be
forced to throw it away. But Brady, if you get
into the if you get behind the the offensive line,
he's gonna go down. You might be right. Chris Jones,
Frank Clark, those guys could eat today. What do you
call on this? Brian? What did you say? Oh, that's
nice of you to ask. No. No, Brian, No, I
(01:14:20):
I just said I think it's Mahomes. Did you not
hear where acause you agree with Chris? I just said
I told you, Mahomes. I think that a reshuffled offensive line,
I see him getting sacked more often. But I can
understand how Chris this election could end up being rights
(01:14:40):
were like going towards cristicized A wow, alright, you just
don't have to be yelling at each other. He can
respectfully disagree on it. I get it, okay, Mr Fenley,
I think that Brian know who has consistently sacked Andy
Furman when it comes to winning the sports take battle
during this show, I am gonna go with the Chiefs
having more sacks, So they are gonna register more sacks
(01:15:02):
based upon Tom Brady and his instability and lack of
mobility in the You're a fool, You're a fool. Well,
it's a direct reflection on you because you're my father,
and I understand who you must in your jeans. You
are a fool. Fools all right? Last one, actually, last two? Okay,
who will have more receiving yards Tyreek Hill at minus
(01:15:25):
two or Mike Evans at plus one. That's a good one.
That's a good bit. I'll tell you what. I'm gonna
go with Mike Evans. Now, I'm gonna you know, I'm
tempted to go with Mike Evans, but look, they're gonna
target Tyreek Hill. They don't spread it around as much
to the other receivers as Tampa does, so I would
(01:15:46):
have to go with Tyreek on that one. Yeah, I'm
gonna have to take Tyreek. As much as I know
they're not really targeting Antonio Brown much. There's more potential
for the ball to be spread around on the Tampa
Bay side, So I think Tyreek will will eat up
a lot of those targets. That's a good, good bit.
There really is a good coal. I'm going to Evans.
I'm going the anti to re kill camp. So going
(01:16:09):
with Evans, all right, Hey, they might double him, who knows? Yeah,
all right, but does it win to get anything with this?
We got one more settled down to Its up to
you guys. You guys can discuss later in a group
channel where you want to put something on this. So
our last one, we've got Tampa Bay's got two running backs,
Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones. The second who has more
(01:16:31):
rushing yards in this games this game four. Net is
at minus one two. Jones is at plus one twenty.
I got Fournette. They've been using him heavily on the playoffs.
You gotta go for Net. He's been more productive. I
think he'll get more opportunities used the workhorse. I could
make a serious answer here, but you never take a
chance to not play a bit so fight on Nay.
(01:16:55):
It's great music, by the way, that classic it is.
And guys, I think it's going to be Leonard for Nette.
He will have enough yards in the Super Bowl to
surpass all of the Bengals rushing yards for the season.
That's my boy, that's my boy. Corny, you spoke about Cincinnati.
(01:17:16):
You're You're in time out now. I'm so used to that, Daddy,
I know, I'm sorry. All right, that'll do it. We'll
see what we're gonna do next week. Will recap these
petictions for next week. There we go, Brian No, Andy Furman.
This is Fox Football Sunday on Fox Sports Radio. And
if there's a game, there's gotta be a wager. Our
game is bottom barrel betting and it's all yours next.
(01:17:38):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Fox Sports
Radio dot com and within the I Heart Radio app
search f s R to listen live. Banna Barre Betting
coming right up about ten minutes before the top of
the hour. He is Brian. Now, I'm Andy Furman to
out a big all of Fox Football Sunday on Fox
Sports Radio. And we are from the Farmer's Insurance Fox
(01:18:01):
Sports Radio Studios called one eight eight eight Farmers and
you could save a whole lot of something on auto insurance.
Let's play this skate bottom funny to sleep. People get
my money. I'll put your break to sleep. Yes, and
the real Mr BVB is the one and only Mr Vinne.
How I am doing great? It is Super Bowl freaking Sunday,
(01:18:27):
and I can't be happier. Although ALMOSTO a little bit
sad because it means that the football season is coming
to an end. Stay positive, friend. Yes, so we got
the trade market, free agency. The draft will be just fine.
We've got plenty to talk about. I mean, I think
I think we're gonna see a lot of movement. I
think it's gonna be a lot of fun this offseason.
But last week we did some picks for the Buccaneers
(01:18:48):
and their players for the Super Bowl. This week we
go to the Chiefs side game. First, start off with
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes Total T D passes. This is
total TD passes for the game over under of two
and a half. By the way, is Andy mathematically eliminated?
(01:19:08):
What are we looking at here? Six games? I believe
can we change his nickname to Andy mathematically eliminated furman?
Is that possible if he gets six out of ten?
Which I don't believe it's possible at this point because
he did agree with you. Okay, that's right, that's right,
gotch we have ten total? Okay, take it back, that's
not your name. Yeah, alright, let's go over yeah, two
(01:19:33):
and a half? Correct? Correct? You know what I'd like
to say over, but I need to say under. I
need to do that to kind of stay in the
game here, to make a closer. So I'm gonna go under.
All right, There's been plenty of games where Mahomes has
thrown two or fewer, so it can happen. So you
move on to uh the rushing their running backs total
(01:19:54):
rushing yards for the Chiefs over under of one and
a half. I would say under, I say under that. Yeah,
I say under as well. Nuts, I'm just telling you,
like the best rush defense. I don't think they're gonna
run it a lot, so yeah, I love Then my
lifeline here. Then what's right or wrong, all right. Up next,
(01:20:18):
we've got Chiefs tight end Travis Kelsey. Total receptions for
the game over under seven and a half. Okay, seven
and a half for Kelsey, I'm just checking. I wanted
to see the earlier matchup. He had eight for eighty
two and week twelve against Tampa. I'm gonna take the over.
He's had, goodness, he's had a string. Good lord, we're
(01:20:41):
looking two, four, six, eight, ten games in a row.
He's only had below seven and a half once. The
last day. He's been nine out of tense. I'll give
me the overrun that one, and i gotta hope he
goes below today because I'm taking under because I gotta
do this. Okay, good luck with that, we'll see, all right.
Next up we go to another wide receiver because basically
(01:21:02):
Travis Kelsey is a wide receiver on that team. Chief's
wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Total receiving yards over under of
one twenty and a half. Alright, from I'm gonna go wonder.
I'm going on to run that. I had to go
over on both, but he torched Casey last time. I'm sorry,
(01:21:23):
torch Tampa last time. So give me the over on
that one. As well. All right, and our last one too,
for all the for all the marbles here Chiefs Defense
total interceptions over under of two and a half. Yeah,
that's too many. I take the under on that one.
They'll do it. Huh, that's gonna do it for the
(01:21:44):
football season. We'll see how it goes and we'll have
a champ next week on the battle money here, what
if I stretch it to double digit Sandy for ten
plus ten on the you know, Okay, we'll gonna tell
you why Champa Bay is gonna win the Super Bowl
that's coming up next right here on Fox you don't
(01:22:05):
listening to Fox Sports Radio, don't bet against the goat
will tell you why. But first it's time to say
wake up, don't miss the game America. All right, it's
that goodness, there you go, it's that time. Yes, it is.
(01:22:26):
He's probably no Andy Firman here as well. And this
is Fox Football Sunday on Fox Sputs Radio. By the way,
we're broadcasting live from the Farmers Insurance Fox Spults Radio
studios called one eight eight eight Farmers to switch and
you could say big on your auto insurance. It's really
the best thing you can do with your phone in
a few minutes, just called one eight eight eight farmers
and start saving. Today we are farmers. And now, without
(01:22:52):
further ado, the man who has all the power in
this power hour, that guy who's my partner and friend,
the brains of the outfit, the one, the only Mr.
But Ryan No without the hello BITI ye, I'm good man. Goodness,
these intros each hour. I I gotta prepare myself mentally
for them. Between you and Chris's drops, the blue cheese
(01:23:14):
drop is the worst drop ever created? Are you kidding me? Wow?
It is bad. This is brutal. By the way, I
just saw this tweet from me and Rappaport. How about this,
Andy Ferman? Yeah, delete that right away. That is awful.
Awful on a Sunday, you kidd me? Um Jordan Whitehead,
the Bucks safety, He's gonna play through a fully torn
(01:23:35):
labraum in the super Bowl today? Good lord, can you imagine?
I know it's yeah, it's gonna be numbed in all
of that, But to play through a fully torn labrum
as a safety. Think about the collisions the fumble that
he caused in the last game tackling Aaron Jones like
(01:23:57):
those were huge collisions. How do you do that? How
does a team physician permit you to do that? Think
about that? How do you do that? Listen, man, it's
it's the super bolin. You're gonna do what you can
to get out there. That's how it goes. We'll see
how he could last. He may not make it through
the whole game. He might not. But yeah, like you said, Andy,
when you hear this talk, all right's too hand touch
(01:24:19):
out there? And no, no it's not. It's not even brutal.
You know, Honestly, I wish people and you've been there,
I know I wish people who say that could just
watch a game, even a college game on the sidelines
and hear the hits. It's brutal, really it really. It's
not the ground shakes. It's crazy. These are car crashes
out there. I don't know. I don't know how you
(01:24:42):
watch games and arrive at that conclusion. It's insane to me.
It's not even close to the case. I'm with you
right there. But you know what, we'll talk about today's game.
And honestly, I like Tampa Bay, but we gotta go
down and prove it because Tampa Bay, Tom Brady and
look there was talk about experience. Yeah, he's making his
ted appearance, but I think it does make a difference.
(01:25:02):
But again, Patrick Mahomes has been there, done that before
as well. But he's got the receivers, he's got the
Mike Evans, he's got Godwin, he's got Gronkowski, he's got
Antonio Brown. You would think that would help. And he Look,
he had a hell of a year. I don't care
what you say. Okay, I don't care how old you are.
Plus yards, forty touchdowns, only twelve, I n t s.
It was a hell of a year. But the defense
(01:25:23):
on Kansas City, I guess it has to start with
their tackle Chris Jones. Other than that, the back defense,
the corners kind of useless, really too far. Okay, they
don't have a lockdown. They don't have a lockdown guy,
they really don't. And I think that's where they're going
to be exploited by Tom Brady. I think I think
(01:25:44):
the Bucks win and they have the edge in that
department when obviously the Buccaneers have the ball, they're passing. Well,
listen a few things. The first part of this is
I find the experience factor interesting, right because we all
know Tom Brady's is his ten super Bowl. But beyond
Brady on that Tampa team, there's not a whole lot
of Super Bowl experience. You have JPP winning a Super
(01:26:06):
Bowl coincidentally against Brady in Super Bowl forty six, but
there's not a whole lot of super Bowl experience there.
So if you look at the Chiefs, they were just there.
Like everybody that was there last year that's still on
the team, they were just in the Super Bowl. So
I think team wise, the Chiefs are more experienced. For
what it's worth, I don't know that it makes a
(01:26:27):
big difference in the game today, but it goes beyond
Brady in the experience department, you know, right. Okay, so
let's talk about the Buccaneers when they're not pissing, when
they're running the football. The Irish level of four yogic carry,
which is very similar to what they did in the
regular cheese and but they got a pretty good one
to punch in for net and Jones. Okay, uh, Well,
that's something to watch, Andy, is how effective can Tampa
(01:26:49):
run the football? Because they've been you know, maybe three
yards in a cloud of dust from most of the playoffs.
There hasn't been a whole lot of success on the
ground for either for Net or Ronald Jones. That run
against the Packers for the touchdown by Leonard Fournette was
a beautiful run. But that's the highlight of the playoffs.
They haven't done a whole lot collectively, but against one
(01:27:12):
of the worst rush defenses in football, if Tampa can
you know, we're not expecting them to bust off two
d and fifty yards on the ground, but if they're
having more success than they're used to in the playoffs
running the ball, that could be a big deal today,
right right. And the funny thing is that during the
regular season, Jones was the featured back and more than
(01:27:33):
four Nette, and then four Nette took over. I guess
he was the main guy in the playoffs. In the
NFC Championship game at the twelve carries for like yards
in that touchdown, and he also had five catches for
nineteen yards out of the backfield. So and Jones couldn't
get the modest started. He had ten carries and only
sixteen yards. So we'll see what happens today. But I
guess I would say, and we did have this in
(01:27:55):
our rapid fire. Four Net is gonna be the featured
guy today. He's gonna get the carriages, He's gonna get
the well. I think this Andy is um If you
have a flashback to Super Bowl forty eight, forty not,
I shame on me. I have to go back. It
was the UH Patriots and Seahawks Super Bowl. And the
(01:28:17):
reason I bring this up it's because that game turned
into like the third and fourth receivers were making huge plays.
Remember Chris Matthews had a big game for Seattle. So
I'm just wondering. We keep talking about the main guys, right,
it's Tyreek Hill, it's Travis Kelsey, it's Mike Evans, It's
the normal suspects. But like Scotty Miller had a huge
(01:28:39):
touchdown catch before halftime in the NFC title game. I'm
just wondering, is there a big play by McCole Hardman.
Is there a big Scotty Miller play. It's like the
guys that we don't talk about heading into the game
as much. Who makes a big presence today? Right? Like
I find that interesting with all the guys that you're
rattling off there now, it's funny the Kansas City UH
(01:29:00):
offending the run to be kind to them. I'll say
their mediocre. I mean, basically, they gave up almost a
hundred twenty three yards rushing per game. They did that
during the regular season, so we'll see what they can
start saying. I think that what Tampa Bay is going
to do, They're gonna run to set up the pass.
That's what they're basically gonna do today. And I think
that they're gonna have the edge in both the passing
department and the run game. So I think that in
(01:29:21):
my mind, I gotta believe that Tampa Bay has it
all over them there, but I do believe the special
teams aspect, I think it's gonna be Kansas City. I
think Kansasy beat him in the special teams, although that
could be well. Look, the kicker Tampa Bays kicker Ryan
suck Up has been almost perfect this year. Was a
faith and field goal attempts, a phenee extra points. He've
(01:29:44):
been pretty good over there. But the Chiefs, Uh, they
weren't putting big numbers on part returns, but the kickoff
returns they were fourth best in the league, So I
think that's a big factor right there. And their kicker,
Harrison Butcker, had the best regular season of his career.
So I think I give the edge a little bit
of Kansas City on special teams. Yeah, we'll see. I
(01:30:04):
don't know. It's it's tough to right where. Bud Curry
missed an extra point against the Browns, also missed a
field goal. He was perfect in the a f C
title game, six for six collectively. Who knows, man, your
guess is as good as mine is if someone has
a sizeable checkmark in the special teams category. But both
of these special teams have left a lot to be
(01:30:26):
desired this year. To Tampa well below average when we're
talking like punt coverage, kickoff returns, like all that's all
things considered. They were one of the worst in the NFL,
and the Chiefs were a bit below average, which is surprising.
They were second last year, they were seventeen this year
and overall special teams. So it's like you always hear
that Andy, like special teams is a the third phase
(01:30:48):
of the game, and it's like that's not as important
as the other stuff. You know, it can be very important.
I'm not saying it isn't, but as important. No, typically,
you know, and what I've been reading, what i've been
hearing you know all say the game comes down to quarterbacks,
and I don't believe so, you know, honestly, it's a
big factor in this game. But like you said, there's
always gonna be that one guy, like where did he
(01:31:09):
come from? And he'll make that special play, either a
pick or something like the a block punt, something like
that's going to happen. And yeah, it boils down to
Brady's play and ma homes play, but it's it's not
basically gonna rest on their shoulders which way the game goes.
But again, I will say, it's very difficult at least
for me to bet against the goat. That's why I'm
(01:31:30):
taking Tampa. That's fine, but yeah, like just look at
the most recent games and how things were changed based
on players that we spent no time talking about heading in,
Like we didn't mention Chad Hetty's name, and rightfully so
one time before the game against the Browns, and he
played a big role at the end with that fourth
(01:31:50):
and one conversion and the thirteen yard run on third
and fourteen, Like, think about beyond an injury in a
backup going in there, think about Jordan white Head. We're
just talking about him, the fumble he forced on Aaron
Jones when he smacked him at the beginning of the
second half. We don't spend a whole lot of time
talking about Scottie Miller. That touched down before halftime was enormous, Like,
(01:32:11):
this is just the stuff that happens, right, So yeah,
we're going to see something tonight, many things tonight that
go well beyond quarterback play. That's gonna make a huge
impact in the game. That's what always happens. You're exactly right,
And I'll tell you what. Let's talk about. Maybe could
this very well be, as they're billing it, maybe the
(01:32:32):
best quarterback matchup ever in Super Bowl history? I'm not
so certain. First of all, you can't pick that until
it happens. That's number one. Number two. My take was
maybe that Joe Montana John Elways super Bowl, and that
to me was a super Bowl four. I think that
was That was a pretty good super Bowl. But it's
very difficult for me to say which was the best
(01:32:53):
quarterback matchup in Super Bowl history. But this is not
easily you think this one with six rings. Patrick Mahomes
in his NFL infancy has done something that no one
ever has done at under twenty five years old, the
league m v P, super Bowl Champion, super Bowl MVP.
(01:33:14):
But that's unprecedented, unprecedented. Good luck finding a matchup that's
going to be as good as this going forward. And
you can't find another matchup that's been as good in
the past. It doesn't exist. Maybe I'm looking after the fact.
I mean the storyline going in, Yeah, it's got all
that there, and you're right, it's it's great drama and
it's a great storyline. The fact that when Brady won
(01:33:36):
his first Super Bowl Patrick Holmes was six years old,
that was great, it was wonderful. But who knows what
happens today? What if Brady throws three picks today? What
if it's a flop? I mean, the storyline going in
makes it. Perhaps that's different, Andy, Yeah, right, Like okay, well,
if you're giving me Joe Montana and John Elway, that
was to ten. Okay, that wasn't exactly a nail biter.
(01:33:58):
So there's a difference between will the game live up
to the hype and the best matchup? Like this is
easily the best matchup. I hope it lives up to
the hype. I do too, but I don't know that,
but I do know this is the best matchup by far,
and sometimes these games don't live up to the matchup
and there's someone of a dud. I mean, but we'll
see what happens. But like when the pageots came back
(01:34:20):
and that Super Bowl, that was a tremendous super Bowl.
That was a great super Bowl. It really was. But
hopefully today we'll we'll I think today and as all
the makings of a close game. That's all I want
to see is a close game. Because I did pick
Tampa Bay to win this game. Really, I thought your
score was higher than that just an hour ago. I
(01:34:41):
don't think I gave a score. I don't, I don't know.
I don't remember. I just remember Brian Finley having a
maybe with Steve di Sager last night. I can't remember.
I'm getting everything crossed up, but Steve Disager, I know
for sure last night had a lower score, and don't
score than that. It was almost the same. I think
it put one and I think something like that. It's
(01:35:03):
up there, man, yeah, I don't. That's the one thing.
I don't see it being a low scoring game. I
think it's gonna be right there, like hitting the over
in the vicinity. I don't see it being that's like
an adjusted line under. I don't see it being that
low scoring right, like forty some points combined. I think
that's really low. Yeah, I did pick that, but again,
(01:35:27):
I could see both teams marching down for scores the
first time they get the ball. I really see that.
Really well, Hey, something to keep in mind. Think about
this with Tom Brady the nine previous Super Bowls. This
is insane. Andy, the first quarter of those Super Bowls,
his teams have scored a combine three points. That's it.
(01:35:47):
They were shut out in the first quarter of eight
Super Bowls and they only kicked a field goal against
the Eagles in Super Bowl fifty two. That's wild, it
really is. I mean I'm excited. I mean I think,
in my heart of hearts, I'm ruining for Tom Brady
because I want to see him one another Super Bowl.
I think it's it's history in the making. It really is.
And I'm hearing stories now that Patrick Mahomes, you know,
(01:36:10):
is he going to cement himself a place as the
old time great and going to Cooper, going to Canton
with this way, hold off, hold off, as I know
when he backed the back super Bowls is a tremendous
feet and now they're talking about maybe winning a third
when your second first before we go on and on
and on. You know, he loses today. I don't think
he loses any traction upon going to Canton down the
(01:36:32):
road because he's a kid, he's young. But let's wait
and see what happens. He's easily going to be a
Hall of Famer. I mean, that's just that dude, unless
I don't think he's gonna flame on some tragic injury
in his career like ended this year, like the part
that he has in his team to really help him too.
I mean, he talk about the slam Dunk of flam Dunks.
(01:36:54):
He's going to be a Hall of Famer. I just think, listen,
the goat conversation is interesting to me. Where if Brady
wins this, it's a rap. Patrick Mahomes is not gonna
have that much team success seven super Bowls, that's not happening.
But if he gets to two and one of those
wins is against Brady this early in his career, they
(01:37:14):
don't win a lot. More like I just think to
dip our big toe and I'm not gonna do a
full breakdown of Jordan's versus Lebron. Lord knows, there's been
enough of that. But just think of this, Andy, If
one of Lebron's wins, he's got four rings, if one
of those was against m j head to head, how
much that would mean? You know. So if Mahomes and
(01:37:38):
his team beats Brady and down the road, he's got four,
he's got five rings. But one of those wins was
head to head against Brady, and that's a big deal.
It's a big deal. Plus it's a big deal as
well winning back to back. This will be the first
one to win back back. And also not to get
too far ahead of ourselves. I think Tampa's gonna win.
You think Tampa's gonna win. But Casey, it wouldn't be
(01:37:58):
shocking if they want If my homes is able, It's
never happened in the history of the NFL, not in
the Super Bowl era. We've never had a three pet
no one ever. We'll let him win to that's what
people say. Let him win the second one first. I
know it, I know, but it's it's at least on
the table. There did that. That's you know, as well
(01:38:19):
as I do as soon as he wins today. Should
he win, that's the topic of conversation going for the
three piece, that's what's gonna end. Really, should he even
get to the super Bowl. If the wins today, then
he's cemented himself in Canton, then he's definitely in and
he's gonna get there. Like, I don't know why you're
hung up on this. He's going to be there. He's
gonna be wearing a gold Let's see what happens. I mean,
(01:38:41):
what happens the second I don't know. I hate to
make that prediction. It's not stepping out on a limb.
Unless he has some crazy career ending injury. He's going
to can That's what I'm saying. You don't know what's
gonna happen. But as of now, yes, Canton's right there.
It's underrolled that for him, it certainly is Okay. We
(01:39:02):
move on. I'm not gonna argue about that that because
I really be a schmuk, But we move on. He's
Brian no on, Hady fir mc ginnis on Twitter at
the No Show or at any firm and FSR or
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. That translates to
eight seven seven sixty nine at the end of this hour,
and you be a fool to leave, you'll hear Brian
(01:39:22):
no and nose picks. So don't go anywhere. But we're
gonna tell you why Kansas City will win today. That's next.

the firmaus is Super Bowl Day, It's Fox Sports Football
on Fox Sports Radio. We want to welcome everybody back
to the studio, which is the Farmer's Insurance Studio where
live from that Farmers Insurance Fox Sports Radio studio called
Farmers Today for a quote. Now, let's get back into
(01:40:06):
this game, because now we're saying Kansas City is gonna win,
and we'll tell you why. Why. That's a horrible tease
because they're not gonna win. Why are we telling people
that they're gonna win when they're not going Because there's
some people who live in Kansas City think they're gonna win, right,
I think Camp is gonna win on picking Tampa, and
I said Tampa's gonna win. But you know you're gonna
tell us how Casey's gonna win. Yeah, we'll tell tell them,
(01:40:26):
not us because we know they're not gonna win, but
because the offense starts with and starts and stops with
Patrick Mahomes. Patrick Holmes, the most talented quarterback in the league.
And uh, he's on pace, as you mentioned, to be
one of the greatest players in the history of the game.
He's passing this year total offense over forty eight hundred yards,
over six thousand, six hundred total yards. And let's not
(01:40:47):
forget he's got like the best position players at that position,
Travis Kelsey and Tyreek Hills. So he's got that over there.
The downside is left tackle Eric Fisher is out with
that achilles injury. That's gonna hurt. That's gonna be a
major fact. Yeah. I mean, listen, Casey definitely has a chance.
We know their credentials, were familiar with their work, but
I don't see it happening, So I will not I
(01:41:10):
will not. Um, how should I say? Play along with
this segment? Andy Firman, I'm going to be combative here
and say no, I will not take part in how
Casey will win. Like they're not going to so I
can't be a part of this. You know, well, I
mean you can't be part of it. Tell us why
they're not going to win? I mean it not. But
(01:41:30):
in this situation, I see when the Chiefs passing the
football in that segment, I think the Chiefs have it.
They have the edge over Tampa and the passion game today.
I really believe they do. You know, I just I
think they do. Tampa I don't because they have an
offensive line that's completely reshuffled. Like we know, Mahomes is unbelievable.
But I would go back to think about Super Bowl
(01:41:51):
forty two, think about the Patriots, and granted Tom Brady
is not as mobile as Patrick Mahomes and that is
a difference, but think about the O seven Patriots and
how utterly dominant they were, one of the best offenses
in the history of the game. And what happened in
that game they were able to the Giants were get
(01:42:12):
pressure on Brady with the front four consistently. They smacked
him around and he didn't have time And yeah, Patrick
Mahomes moves better, but you know who also moves well,
Aaron Rodgers and he got sacked five times last week.
And that's Super Bowl. I think New England was a
fourteen point favorite to winning the Giants win that game
(01:42:33):
around there. Yeah, it was right around there, like thirteen
and a half, depends on when you got it, but yeah,
they were a huge favorite. They were arguably the greatest
team ever and Tom Brady did not have time because
that Giant's pass rush with four down linemen o s
human eura justin Tuck you had, of course, uh Michael
(01:42:55):
Strahan like those guys were eating. It was a team
meeting often at the quarterback and that was a huge deal.
That's why the one of the greatest offense has ever
scored fourteen points with the Patriots. And I don't know
that Tampa is able to slow down Mahomes that much,
but believe me, that is missmatch City with Mike Remer's
(01:43:18):
who is getting completely dominated by Von Miller five years ago.
With Miller being the Super Bowl m v P. That
guy is moving over to left tackle a guard in
Andrew whiley is playing right tackle. J p P and
Shack Barrett will cause mayhem today, and that is being
completely glossed over because like, Patrick Mahomes is awesome, he
(01:43:41):
doesn't move mountains. He's not like, I don't even need
blocking over here, I'm so awesome. No, No, he does
need it, and he's not going to get it consisted, right,
And I'm gonna agree with you on this. Look, I'm
a Tampa Bay guy today said Tampa Bay is gonna win,
but he is a reasoning why they'll win when the
Chiefs run the football. The Buccaneers run defense to tell
defensive unit in the NFL during the regular season, with
(01:44:03):
like almost one rushing yards allowed per game, okay, which
is almost like ten yards fewer than the second best defense,
which was the Colts, which is a tremendous situation right there.
So I think that they are gonna stop that run game,
and the defense really might be the defense that wins
the game, not the offense, but the defense that wins
the game for Tampa Bay today. All Right, the Chiefs
(01:44:25):
rushed for about a hundred and twelve yards a game,
but don't underestimate Patrick Mahomes, who rushed for over three
hundred yards this year and two rushing touchdowns during the
regular season, So don't don't forget him, even though there
may be a problem is blocking up front. But he's
still can rushed the football, Sure he can, and I
think he'll be effective with that. I think this is
the biggest of the layup bets is Mahomes rushing yardage.
(01:44:49):
I need to recheck it, but early on it was
twenty one and a half. He he will easily be
over that total. I know he's got this and all
of that. He's been limping around a little bit, but
he's been healthier since that time. And yeah, I think
that the way the game is going to play out,
Andy again, I expect JPP and Shack Barrett to get
consistent pressure on him, and they're going to be times
(01:45:11):
where it just lends itself to escaping the pocket and running.
So I don't to be under twenty one yards rushing.
I don't see that happening at all today. All right,
my friend, Now it's time to put up, because I
put up and I said the score is gonna be one,
which I think is rather low, but I still stick
with it one. Tampa Bay, I need you a pick.
(01:45:32):
I just told you, Andy, I'll restated. I've got it
at thirty seven Tampa Bay. I want to make sure.
I want to make don't take notes. What's happened to
your note taking today? I do take it, but I
don't want to get I don't want any waivering here.
I don't want you to be like Brian Fenley. And
by the way, Brian Fendley is coming right up, so
we'll get to him. Hey, what a bet you won't
believe it, But first man, you always believe that's none
(01:45:58):
other than Brian Fendley with the late Well, thank you
so much, Andy. And by the end of the show,
you will admit to having the Chiefs win, and then
you'll also say the Bucks win, so that next week
you'll say that you actually picked the winner off the game. Stalks,
I own up to them, and I'll be more than
happy to admit them. I do that with the m
(01:46:18):
v P voting. With the quarterback situation of New England,
I'm the guy. I don't hide. You don't hide even
when you think that Julian Edelman you thought was gonna
be the starting quarterback from the Patriots after Tom Brady.
You're a clown. Yeah, you're a clown. Yeah, yeah, Here
(01:46:41):
my goodness. Oh my gosh, Well, I'm giving a filami submarine. Alright,
I'll take one gluten free. According to NFL Network, Buck
safety Jordan's whitehead is playing in today's Super Bowl. Listen
to this with a fully torn labor elsewhere. Chief's quarterback
Patrick Mahomes after today's big game will have surgery to
alleviate his turf to issue. The Texans continue to have
(01:47:02):
no interest in listening to QB Deshaun Watson's trade wishes.
Watson has made zero contact with newly hired head coach
David Coley. That's absurd, by the way, we got to
talk about that for a hot second, for sure. Yeah.
Also ESPN finding out the Jets have taken calls from
other teams who want to trade for QB Sam Donald
(01:47:22):
and right now New York is assessing all of its
options at the quarterback position, including even potentially using that
second overall pick in the upcoming draft on a signal caller.
The NFL tagging Aaron Rodgers is m VP of the season.
Titans running back Derek Henry Reel is an Offensive Player
of the Year. On how many MVP votes for Derrick
Henry By the way, Brian Finley, it was prown. It's amazing.
(01:47:45):
I mean, you know, it's funny. Bob nightingalety the esteem
baseball rid for USA today, right, He's tremendous baseball. National
Baseball writer had the story the other day that Trevor
was going to the Mets. Okay, end up with the Dodgers.
I'm getting more grief for the garbage than I say
that Bot Nightingale got in USA today. It's unbelievable. Andy.
(01:48:07):
You also said a couple of weeks ago that in
five years, college basketball college football will be co ed
and that men and women will play the same league.
That is, I hope to goodness that I'm here in
five years to prove myself right, and maybe you'll be
with us. I hope so. And then maybe you'll admit
that I am your actual biological son. Yeah, okay, that's
(01:48:27):
for sure. The NFL Hall of Fame naming its twenty inductees,
highlighted by Peyton Manning, Charles Woodson, and Calvin Johnson, and
two scores from the NBA. Last night, the Lakers struggle
to victory against the Pistons one to one, twenty nine
and double overtime Lebron James thirty three points, eleven assists,
and the MAVs stupefied the Warriors one thirty four, one
(01:48:49):
thirty two, Luca forty two points, he made seven threes,
and Steph Curry, in a losing effort, had fifty seven
points and eleven three balls. Now, let's get back to
Brian know and America's favorite underwear model, Andy Furman. Thank you,
God bless you. I love all Right, Hey, don't forget
the halftime. We'll get through that in just about a minute.
(01:49:09):
He is Brian, No, I'm Andy Ferman, and welcome out
to the Farmer's insurance. Fox Sports Radio Studios called one
eight eight eight farmers to switch and you can save
a bundle on your auto insurance. Okay, we wanted to
mention something that Brian Finley said, and let's get into
it right now because I forgot what he said because
I don't normally listen to him. Hey, yeah, real fast
(01:49:31):
Deshaun Watson, where he mentioned in his update that the
Texans are like, we have no interest in trading DeShawn
Watson fast. It's just stupid. It's bad business. He's not
coming around. This is not going it's gonna be just
like James Harden, the Rockets could be like, yeah, you know,
we're not in any rush, and then they're like, we
gotta trade this guy right away. It's that's the way
it's gonna be with DeShawn Watson. The only thing the
(01:49:52):
Texans are doing right now, Andy, they're just negotiating against themselves.
All they're doing if they just do the Heisman Poe
is to everybody else who's inquiring about DeShawn, it's musical chairs.
You're cutting down the price with you know, if I
don't know if the Colts make a move for Deshaun
(01:50:12):
Watson or well, all of a sudden, that's a team
that isn't vying for DeShawn. Right like when Stafford and
the golf trade goes down, Like why would you say, no,
we're not dealing him. And these teams have to make plans,
they're like, okay, we'll go to Plan B. Then why
would you then take that off the table for yourself?
It makes no sense. Well, the sidest thing is going
public to begin with. You know, keep it quiet, do
(01:50:34):
your negotiations if you have any, behind closed doors, and
get a deal done if you can, because obviously he
doesn't want to be there. He's a disruption, and he's
made it plain that he doesn't want to play for
your team, like Matthew Stafford. That's what quietly right, Well,
there are teams that are like who calls the shots here?
We do? Like, you're just making it worse for yourself.
(01:50:56):
I'll say this real quick. We'll get back to the
Super Bowl. Andy, But okay, I look at DeShawn. It
would be like this. If you went up to one
of your buddies and you were like, why are you
breaking up with your girlfriend? She's amazing, she's awesome. Why
on earth would you do that? If your friends said,
because she doesn't want to be with me, because I
don't think you'd be like, who cares? Make her stay anyway?
(01:51:17):
Like that's how it applies to the Texans. If you
say to the Texans, why would you move on from
de Shaun? The guy is awesome? If you're if they're like,
because he doesn't want to me, you should be like, okay,
I get it, Like why would you force it to happen?
It's not going to work out for you. Move on,
get what you can get. There are negative vibes. It's
not gonna work. It's a bad match up, a relationship,
(01:51:39):
cut the tie, let him go. Ye, it's the best
situation for you. Like a lot of people look at
this like he's not gonna make us do anything, and
it's like you're just making things worse for yourself. All
of a sudden, The price that you could get for
the guy with all of these teams, well most of
them looking for a quarterback. The more and more that
(01:52:01):
well they made this other plan, Well they traded for
this guy. Well they're not in the market anymore. Like
why are you taking the asking price down for yourself?
That makes no sense. It's ridiculous. But the one good
thing I'm happy about the Deshaun Watson has been rather
quiet over the list two weeks, no memes on social media,
very quiet. So you know someone's got to him, really
because he's the best thing is for him to be quiet.
(01:52:23):
You know, they know he doesn't want to be there now.
It's the ball is in the core of the ball
club and they gotta get rid of them. That's what
they gotta do. They could say, well they wan't, but
they gotta get rid of them. It's the best for themselves.
Like it would be different. Like a lot of people
are looking at this as if DeShawn wants to be there, like,
of course, you don't even think about trading him. He's young,
he's a study. He's one of the best quarterbacks in football.
(01:52:45):
He is so valuable and you're not most likely going
to get equal return in a trade. But what changes
everything is that he doesn't want to be there, so
you have to view it accordingly. Yeah, but there's one
guy used to be got to talk about and as
Jim Mattress mc mcilvale. Yeah, there we used the Houston
furniture store owner. He's known for making like these giant
(01:53:08):
sports bets. He made the largest Super Bowl wages thus
for three point four six million. Now there was another one.
There was another one where the yeah the Patriots in
rams game super Bowl thirty six. Someone thus far on
this one. Well, yes, in this game, but I thought
you met in Super Bowl history. I'm no. Three point
four six million on the underdog Tampa Bay Bucks. Now
(01:53:28):
he would win something like two point seven million if
Tampa Bay covers is spread. But the way he did
it was kind of strange, and maybe you could help
me out on this situation. Connect the dots if you will.
Mcail vale flew to Colorado Springs Wednesday. He went into
the Draft Kings mobile betting app from the airport place
where of the largest bets ever on the Super Bowl,
and he paying a little extra juice. And then he
(01:53:50):
went back to Houston. Why did you have to go
to Colorado Springs? He didn't. He just happened to be.
He didn't have He flew. He app bandy. He could
have been on his toilet and done the same thing,
like nothing that. It was just the way it worked out.
He happened to do it. And he was doing business
of the furniture business. I thought he went there for
(01:54:10):
the bet. Oh man, Oh no, it's just what do
you happen to be doing at the time, that's all.
It's crazy. It's it's unbelievable, it really is. And this
guy is like you know, he's always out there. And
I think that if if he wins the bet, uh,
people who buy mattresses over there, they get like a
free mattress, get their money back something like that. Yes
they do. If you spent three thousand dollars or more,
(01:54:32):
get your money back matrics mattress Mac wins his bet
So can you imagine if you spend over three gs
on a mattress and some other stuff to go along
with it, if you got that free, if Tampa covers
plus three and a half legs, pretty go Tampa. If
that's the case, Man, I can't believe this guy makes
that much money, has this much money from selling mattresses.
(01:54:54):
I'm in the wrong business. I should have been the
mattress business. It's not too late right right by the way,
talking about the betting angle to just awful historically awful
bad beats. Think about this in Super Bowl history, Andy,
I was mentioning someone laid four point eight million dollars
(01:55:14):
on the money line for the Rams to beat the
Patriots in Super Bowl thirty six, and of course it
worked out the other way right where where Tom Brady
and the Patriots won that game. Can you imagine having
almost five million dollars on the line and Tom Brady
at the end, like the final minute, twenty one whatever
it was, right down the field, minitary boom splits the uprights.
(01:55:38):
You are lighter in the wallet by four point eight
million dollars? Can you imagine that that is brutal? And
then also last year's Super Bowl. Remember this, Andy, I
had forgotten Patrick Mahomes the prop bet rushing yards twenty
nine and a half. He was over and then there
were three kneel downs at the end of the game.
(01:55:59):
He ended up with twenty nine rushing yards. So he
knelt on the ball minus three yards, lost his seven,
loss of five, and he was under by a yard
because of all that lost yardage at the end of
the game. That can you imagine losing that way? Maybe
he waged on it. Yeah, there's no, no, that's not
(01:56:24):
the case. It's just the way if you say, you
know what, you know what, the over unders on your
rushing thing. But look, you know and they heated the battle.
You're not gonna even know. But isn't that crazy? And like,
if it was minus three yards, minus three yards, minus
three yards, you're good. If you took the over, but
it was minus three, minus five, minus seven, you're like,
why why the minus seven at the end? Even if
(01:56:45):
it's minus six, I still win. Unbelievable, it really is.
It's crazy. And there's so many more bets. Bets are crazy.
I love him. I mean, how many people be holding
their breath today at the coin flip when the game
star that plenty. Yeah. I mean, that's the sickest bet
in the world. Why do people do that? Really real
quick story, super fast. I know we gotta go because
(01:57:05):
Chris is gonna be like break in our ear right, fast,
real fast. Okay. So I had a I took in
Super Bowl forty three, the Steelers and Cardinals. I bet
on which team Barack Obama would mention in his pregame interview,
and so I bet that he was gonna take. He
was gonna say the Steelers because he was on the
(01:57:26):
Steelers to win that game. And whoever was interviewing him,
he was like, I know you like the Steelers, Barack,
but man, this Cardinals. Steel they got a lot of fight,
don't they. And he was talking about the Cardinals. I'm
like this bomb interviewing him. He led him up. But
I still won because he didn't mention the Cardinals by name.
He said something like Kurt Warner. And what I thought
I lost, I ended up winning. This beautiful unbelievable. That's crazy.
(01:57:51):
He really is, all right, he's probably no. I made
the firm it together. We are Fox Football something on

(01:58:52):
nose Picks the scarp. Are you in desperate need of
gambling insights here and now the time is come alright,
(01:59:13):
Andy Furman undefeated last week. I did go zero and
zero because I had some Super Bowl picks. Right, I'm
taking the over combined sacks four and a half. There
gotta me some sacks today. Baby, We're gonna see five
at least the Jersey number the first touchdown. I'm taking
the under seventeen and a half, which basically gives us
most of the wide receivers in the quarterbacks. And then
(01:59:35):
a lock Mahomes rushing yardage over twenty one and a half.
That is locked City. So I have three new ones
for you today. Rapid fire Tampa plus three cash it
take it to the bank. I think they're winning the
game out right, but you take the extra three points
should be good. Also, how about this, the total number
of players from Tampa with rushing attempts the line is
(01:59:56):
at three and a half. I've got the over. I
think that you're gonna get both running backs Tom Brady
and they're gonna have some sort of wide receiver running play.
I take the over on that one. And this is
the lock of lock. Sandy Will the weekend during halftime
where glasses at any time on stage Locks City. Yes,
mightus one forty little extra juice. He's not going without
(02:00:17):
glasses the whole time. There you go? Are you with
me on those picks? Although I may not see it
because I mean I want to watch the halftime, but no,
come on, you got He's a great musician. You won't
be disappointed. Time to go your own way and I
gotta feel good. I feel good. Story to you from
the Atlanta Falcons, the defensive tackle Granny, Jared and the
NFL Together they rallied to support a young Falcon's fan.
(02:00:38):
This kid lost three family members in the house fire
about a week ago. Jared surprises kids twelve year old
Tatan Johnson kind him on a zoom call the other
day game two tickets at today's Super Bowl. It's the
first NFL game for Johnson. He also got a pep
talk from Jared about how to work hard, get good
grades in school and believing you so because this kid
wants his dream to be laying in the NFL. One day,
(02:01:01):
the kid, Johnson escaped the fire and his family's mobile
home and Athews, Georgia back on the twenties cent with
the January. Then he ran into a neighbor's home. He
called nine one one. According to TV in Atlanta, Johnson
tried to go back into the mobile home to save
his family members, but Johnson's mother, his grandmother, and his
little sister all perished in the fire. A sad story,
(02:01:24):
for sure, but a good story on the part of
the Atlanta thought because of Gritty Jarrett. Yeah, goodbye him.
That's awesome to make something out of a horrible situation.
How about this, I'll take you to Boston. Let's right,
go to bingtown over here. So there was a man
he went to bed listening to music on a Monday, Right,
So he woke up Tuesday, he's shoveling snow for about
(02:01:46):
an hour. He went inside to take a sip of water.
The water wouldn't go down. He had to lean over
and drain it from his throat. And he noticed one
of his earbuds was missing. And so his son was like, Dad,
maybe you like allowed the earbud while you were sleeping.
Turns out he did. It was lodged in his lower esophagus.
They had to remove it. Now he's good to go,
(02:02:08):
but yeah, careful wearing earbuds to sleep. You might swallow
one of those Oh my word, that's dangerous. It really is.
I just love that his son suggested that, like, I
don't know that, maybe you ate the headphone by mistaken
Time is up. Enjoy yours, Enjoy the game. Will see
you here right in here, right and early next Sunday.
Uh Fox, you're listening to Fox Sports for you. Go
