on the rundown today, but let's go ahead and start
with the biggest story in sports, which was a sneaky
good day. We had the British Open this morning, Ryan
Fox wins it, Spain wins the World Cup. Dodgers and
Yankees play too. They split the doubleheader, but the Dodgers
win the series. We had racing tonight. I mean the
king of the sports world, I guess would say, right,

the Spain winning the World Cup. But yeah, kind of
a sneaky entertaining day from start to finish. It was
sports from sun up to well after sundown.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
They were saying it was the biggest entertaining sports slash
entertainment day in like New York history. With all the
stuff going on, it was just absolutely craziness, you know,
with the Yankees Dodgers doubleheader, the World Cup, Noah Con
played today Area on the Grande, and I forget there

was another con too, So it was absolutely crazy. You know,
you could have got into the guess how much get
in prices were for the Dodgers Yankees game today?

Speaker 3 (09:09):
Well you sent me Ashcazy's tweet about it of the
you know, you can hit the thing that just sends
the tweet instead of having a screenshot it every single time,
because I love.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
Looking at the comments.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
I didn't, but it looked like the cheapest ticket of
all those was Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Yankees twenty dollars. Twenty dollars to get. Could you imagine
you're in New York, you're a baseball fan. You look
at Dodgers Yankees go sitting like the right field bleachers
or something for twenty dollars. That did insane. You can't
get that. That's craziness. Where could you go to a
game like that for twenty bucks when the World Cup
was like ten thousand, So it was insane that you

can get. And that was a double letder day night doubleheader.

So was it was that the price for the primetime
tickets or for the early game?

I believe it was the early game, but the second
game wasn't that much more. M I'd have been twenty
five or thirty, so oh wow. Yeah, you could have
gone to both games, had a good day, and enjoyed
some baseball, that's for sure.

I heard the Sager's update.

Dodgers won the first game eight to two, Yankees won
the nightcap two to one, and they win.

They desperately need it.

But again, you're it's almost as if you're trying to
do everything you can to avoid talking about the World Cup.

No, absolutely, I've already Are you kidding, I've already started
looking to to twenty thirty. Oh yeah, yeah. Do you
know that we're one hundred to one in the USA?

Why don't you tell everyone that we're gonna win and

Cup Finals in Giants Stadium. I didn't get that. I
just didn't think that's the place to put MetLife Stadium. Sorry,
but I just I kind of felt like watching it
and just the way I felt like I was watching
like an MLS game. You know, all these games had
a different feel to them. But you turn on that today,
maybe it should have been a prime time I don't know,
But did you have a problem with them putting it

in met Life for the world kind and especially with
the smog and some of the issues they had with
the rain over there, and think.

Well it was a gorgeous day.

Yeah, there was nothing that was a beautiful day. Yesterday
when we were doing the show, it was coming down
like crazy. I actually thought the rain was gonna knock
me off the air. It was like a monsoon outside.
But the weather said there was gonna be no problem.

You know. I know the.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
Stadium isn't the best. It looked great on TV though
by back crowd eighty thousand. Everything went off without a hitch.
The concerts went well, so yeah, I mean I could
understand the people complaining about it. I did see the
stuff before the match where it was just pure bedlam
trying to get in. People were there four or five

hours ahead of time, getting told to go to the
wrong gate, couldn't get in. Did you know that somebody
said they were opening up every everybody had to open
up their laptop and turn it on before they were
allowed it. Could you imagine every person in front of
you having to turn on their computer and you had
to wait through all that. I mean media people, Yeah,

the media people.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
I mean because I don't know many people to go
to the game with the laptop. I mean just saying,
but all the media people had to go and open
all all their stuff.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
Did they do that at every game?

Speaker 2 (12:52):
I didn't know you had to turn on your laptop.

Usually, but they'll make you do it. I mean absolutely.
Security sucks, not in a good way. Don't you want
to feel safe, especially when everything's surrounding this Now, the
ticket issues were the bigger problem than security making you
turn your computer on.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
Yeah, there was just a well they if you saw
on Twitter, the lines were just umongous. I'm like, oh
my goodness, that just sounds horrible. But everybody can seem
like they got in and had a good time. I
enjoyed it. It's certainly a good thing leading up to football.
It's certainly killed a month and it was enjoyable. I'm
glad they're going to what do they want to go
to sixty four? I'm all for that. I wish they

could bring the World Cup back here in twenty thirty.
I think we did a great job and it seemed
like a lot of people had a great time and
enjoyed visiting America. So I wish we could do it again.

I mean, you know, it's only the second time we've
done it in thirty years.

So I mean they've already got twenty thirty and twenty

some fillings on Saturday. You used to do the Saturday
night show but tapped out of that.

It's too exhausting to get in your car and drive
to like I don't know, New York or what would
else be fairly close to you that would be drivable. Oh,
you're not going to drive over three hours anyway. You
can fly anywhere. And you don't go to any of

I'm very disappointed I.

Had this, you know, I guess I should have gone,
but it was so expensive your tickets, it was crazy,

last thing that you saw at the end of the
World Cup broadcast was a promo for MLS, which kind
of had that where next feel to it or we'll
carry the torch or.

Does this ignite a little bit more soccer passion in
the States or do we go back to it definitely
being like page three, four or five news.

Oh, page five, six, seven news. No, it's not going
to ignite me again. Nothing against soccer. I enjoyed it.

I literally just spent ten minutes talking about how the
World Cup should come back here.

It's all over it. There's a difference between the World
Cup and regular soccer. That's I mean, let's be honest.
You're playing for your country. Everybody's into it. There's so
much at stake. I wish they expanded to sixty four.
I think that'd be fantastic. But no, I'm not going
to watch MSL, Mislay, Franz, Beckenbauer, the Cosmos, none of

that stuff. I'm a Cosmo fan. I won't watch him
them right now. They don't play, you know.

freezing downstairs, and upstairs it's so hot I have to
have no shirt on. And the dog walks over to
my fan, hits it once to turn it on, hits
it again to make it faster, and then plops on
my pillow and is just enjoying that. I don't know
how it figured out how to turn on the fan.
It's absolutely incredible.

And telling me that your dog is figured out not
only how to turn the fan on, but to control
the different speeds of the thing.

Yeah, And the funny part is I didn't even know

I'm like, which is the damn button to make it faster.

My wife dropped the leash. We couldn't catch the damn dog.

always like this, especially now with more rounds, it is
