Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio. Do not do not,
I repeat, do not touch that dial. You heard the man.
It's time for Fox Sports Sunday. And as the sports
calendar continues to fill up with more stuff than we
are closing in on the Christmas holidays, we find there
are no shortage of storylines and developing situations. So please

(00:25):
put your seedbacks forward, your trade tables up right. We
are ready for takeoff. My name is Bernie Frannill Comedy
Alive from Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio Studios. We'll take
you up to three am Pacific, six am Eastern, along
with my savvy and capable crew, both Benson, Chris Perfett
and Brian Fenley on the updates as they man the

(00:45):
ship from our Los Angeles compound. We've got a ton
on the agenda tonight, including full NFL analysis for Week
thirteen and the Physic five, and about fifteen minutes later
on we'll talk about Major League Baseball's first work stops
in ten thousand days. I told you I started saying
this back in May. I was on with Lavary Arrington

(01:06):
and Mike Harmon, but I digress will chop that up
a little bit later and what it all means Peewee
as well as the college Football Playoff expansion talks the
College Football Playoff Final four. Tiger Woods spoke out this
past week. We'll share what he had to say, plus
we'll get back into home field advantage in the NFL.

(01:27):
Wise it gone these days with some examples. But first,
there were some very impactful and impressionable takeaways from A
twelve in the NFL, and that is where we begin.
You know a lot of folks that I respect. I
thought the Cleveland Browns could get to the super Bowl
this year, and on paper they have quote potentially a

(01:49):
Super Bowl roster. You and I both know the games
are not played on paper. Now, what's the problem with
the Browns? So we don't have enough time in the show,
but I will tell you this there bread and butter
is offense and defense. They can't do either one. Meanwhile,
Baker Mayfield, he's battered, he's bruised, he's hurt, he's everything

(02:11):
he's airing with his throws and he's just can't get
out of this rut ever ever since trying to make
that form tackle Week one after an interception and tearing
his labor on his non throwing shoulder just gone words
from there. The Browns offense, though it is typically been
in the last couple of years, lead Bar arguably the
best rushing attack in the NFL, but Baltimore and no

(02:33):
trouble stopping at Sunday night, even with Kareem Hunt joining
Nick Chubb returning Cleveland wood nowhere on the ground. They
tallied a total for forty yards last week. Now airing
week twelve, the Browns had an NFL high fourteen hundred
and seven rushing yards outside the tackles. Last Sunday, the
Browns had eleven rushes for twenty seven yards on rushes

(02:56):
outside the tackles. That's two point five yards to carry.
That's death. Meanwhile, the Rams having trouble finding a groove,
heard all kinds of theories on the airwaves this last week. Well,
you know, all star teams in the NFL never work.
Who said there an all star team? Von Miller's four

(03:17):
years passed his prime. I never said Matt Stafford was
an All Stars. There's a good quarterback, not an All Star.
And O b J. They didn't win in New York
with they didn't win to Cleveland with him. Right now,
that not one of the Rams with him. But I digress.
When your quarterback puts you in a hole three straight weeks,
there's your there's your sign. Okay, Matt Stafford is throwing
a pick six and three straight games, becoming the eleventh

(03:40):
quarterback in the Super Bowl Air to do so. By
the way, since week nine, Stafford has thrown no touchdowns
to Cooper Cup and three touchdowns to opposing defenders. Take
a bow, Jimmy Ward, Kevin Byard, Rusul Douglas, and he
had other interceptions dropped. Stafford had twenty two passing touchdowns
and four Uh let me, let me try to get

(04:02):
in English. Got a little excited there. Before the last
three weeks, Stafford had twenty two passing touchdowns and four inceptions.
He's got five and five in the last three all right,
and by the way, ten touchdowns the Cooper Cup. You
would think they have a get right game tomorrow with
Jacksonville the Rams today, I mean later today, in about

(04:25):
what thirteen hours? But the Rams still have some daunting
road games left, So let's see what happens. Give him,
give them the benefit of the doubts. He's not over yet.
Gotta give it up to londond four net. He's a
leader in the locker room, he's leader on the field.
He powered the Bucks last week and they're thrilling comeback
versus Indianapolis four net scored what how many touchdowns for

(04:47):
including the game winning twenty yard run with twenty seconds
to go. He blasted through arm tackles. He's averaging six
yards to carry, he's running with purpose. He also caught
a touchdown pass to go with seven receptions. And Tom
Brady was a little bit wobbly or he's human, he's allowed.
And the receiver corps, well, you know they're they're not

(05:08):
exactly burning up the turf. They didn't have a wide
receiver with more than twenty four yards receiving last week,
and and and Tampa Bay needed a large day from
from London four net man and they got it. And
you know, Nolan Ryan once said, the mark of a
great picture is when you can win when you don't
have your best stuff. And Tampa Bay haven't done their
best stuff. This is it was this week last year

(05:31):
when they turned it around. There were seven and five
some people said that Belichick and check that Belichick, that
Bruce arians and Tom Brady needed a divorce and one
of them be gone next year. Well, obviously that didn't happen.
They when the rest of their games around the table.
Do not ever count out Tom Brady. I'm gonna get
to that in a minute. By the way, injured running
back Christian McCaffrey's ankle out for the year. In addition

(05:55):
Dalvin Cook torm laboring out indefinitely. They were the two
top fix and most fantasy leagues this year, and unfortunately
there two of the NFL's most commonly injured starting running backs.
Bummer that never works out well, Russell Wilson, Oh boy,
they're gonna let Russ cook. That team is a hot mess.

(06:18):
They looked like a drunk crossing and icy street when
they're on offense, and it's even worse on defense. And
now Russell Wilson and maybe he lost the cookbook. I
don't know, but his future in Seattle is now front
and center. After last Monday Nights lost to Washington, The
Seahawks not only dropped to three and eight, when, of
course I believe that virtually eliminates them, and he hope

(06:40):
the Seahawks and making the postseason. This would be only
the second time they've missed the playoffs since Wilson was drafted.
So now here's the question that has been lurking all
season and since last April. Is the split finally coming
between Russell Wilson and the Seahawks. Because Wilson he voiced
his frustration his last offseason about the number of times

(07:01):
he was sacked in his career, which was followed by
his agent telling ESPN that Wilson didn't want to leave Seattle,
but he was also going to release hi list of
trade destinations he'd accept. Thanks for that, Russ. By this hour, though,
Wilson was down playing the off season posturing and boy
he was committed to one season. But his Week five

(07:23):
injury was involving his finger. That pretty much turned the
Seahawks season upside down, not just for the time he missed,
but also because this guy has not looked like himself,
well even before he left, but certainly after he came back.
And the question now is did he hurry back too
quickly from surgery? Uh? Pete Carroll normally even killed kind

(07:46):
of shrugged his shoulders. Seahawks. No, they can't get out
of their own way. I say, yeah, it is probably time,
I think Russ might be done period. He's just not
the same. But what a hell of a career. Maybe
we'll give him his tribute some other night, but not tonight.
Here we go again. Okay, I said, never count Brady out.
And you know, I'm sick of avocado ice cream jokes.

(08:08):
I don't even know if he eats avocado ice cream?
Can you really buy avocado ice cream? Every time I
go to the store just for the hell of it,
every now and then I look in the freezer. I
don't see avocado ice cream anywhere. And you know, if
avocado ice cream was so great, why don't they give
some to Stafford. Anyway, it did not look like Brady
uh and the Buccaneers would be able to maybe continue there.

(08:32):
I see this in quotes dominance because he didn't win
the Super Bowl looking good and they crushed everybody, and
they were off to a good start this year because
they've been ravaged by injuries that their secondary Okay, and actually,
statistically right now, or at least up until last week,
Tampa Bay was one of the worst defenses against the pass,
and Brady has been missing tighten Rob Gronkowski and that

(08:54):
lovabull irrepressive ble Antonio Brown who didn't like to pay
his bills. Apparently it's caused him a lot of t ball.
Now he's got a three game suspension, but that's a
story for a different day. But they lost to Trevor
Simeon in the New Orleans Saints. I'm talking about the
the Bucks that don't mean to be master of the
pronoun here. They lost to sime In and the New
Orleans Saints back in Week eight, and then Taylor Heineken,

(09:14):
who I really like in the Washington football team, and
Week ten and that Sandwich to Baie week in which
you think the team would get their act together, get
you know, recuperate, instead in those two games and then
it went over the Giants to Week eleven. They relied
heavily on Brady's passing to compete forty four years old.
Brady's you know, he has a shot at winning his

(09:35):
eight Super Bowl. He can't depend on him carrying the
Bucks on his shoulders. He'll do his part. But that
thirty eight thirty one win over Indi Napolis last week
sort of supplied the flash and the takeaway that the
football world really almost sort of comes to expect from
Tampa Bay again. Never do not count Brady out. I've

(09:59):
been saying it for years. Finally, in Week twelve of
the twenty season, the Chiefs, they raced to a ten
lead at Tampa Bay and Tyree Hill. It was dropping
peace signs and infamously telling Buck fans help is on
the way. But the Buccanees defense of the Buccaneers try
that again in English. Then four three punts and fought back.

(10:21):
They lost four, but that sort of lit a fire
under Tampa Bay's butt to get their Super Bowl game plan.
The Bucks did not lose the game the rest of
the season. Here's the parallel. I wanted to final takeaway
before we get to the Pheasant five. See last Sunday
the Colts. It's almost like deja v will over again, Yogi.
If you look at that Chiefs game in week twelve

(10:43):
or twenty and then the Colts game last Sunday. They
were poised to rob Tampa Bay, and Frank Reich opted
to go for it on fourth and one with twenty
two seconds left in the first half, and Carson Wentz
rolled right found t Y Hilt for four yard touchdown
pass they gave the Colts are fairly commanding ten fteen

(11:03):
halftime lead, Brady sat on the bench. He had that look.
The Colts got the ball to start the second halfter
of all the way to Tampas twenty yard line. Then
the Bucks flipped the proverbial switch. Their edge rusher Shack
Barrett sacked Wentz, forced to fumble, recovered the ball to
end that drive. Remember Andy was in the red zone.

(11:26):
Six plays later, Tampa Bay cut the deficit to three
on a Leonard four Nette for your touchdown run that
was already his third score of the game. On the
next possession, Wentz also had a d P heave down
to the Buck's five yard line, intercepted by Antoine Winfield Jr.
I love that guy, all five nine of them. Size
means nothing, great athletes coming all size and shapes. When

(11:48):
when Winfield somehow opposition and out muscled the ball away
from Michael Pittman, who happens to be six ft four again,
seven plays later, running back Ronald Jones, he scores on
a one yard stone rush to give the Bucks lead. Combined,
Tampa Bay's defense last week was Reich's play calling, which

(12:08):
kept Jonathan Taylor and check. And Taylor's a stud. He's
been sizzling all year. He scored five touchdowns. The week
before he finished with the only eighty three yards on
sixteen carries, his longest run fifteen yards. Never got into
a rhythm against the defense Tampa Bay that is allowing
an NFL O at NFL low eighty one yards rushing

(12:29):
per game. Again, Tampa Bay eight and three, they survive
a seventy two yard kick return. Bruce Arians though he's
in sync with this team, do not do not count
not Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And if
this sounds for Mayorge, should the Buccaneers are doing just

(12:51):
fine as you get into December. And by the way,
that there's an old saying in the NFL they always
remember what you did in December. And I'll tell you why,
because in December, let's face it, you are basically these
are basically de facto playoff games, including starting later today

(13:12):
most I didn't say tomorrow, all right, coming up? You

(15:23):
this segment we call the Physic five times. It's the
Physic five. These are the five things you need to
hear about. No, we're the only back to back Hilton
Super Contest winner Steve Pack. Here's Bernie Fratto. Alright, Faz,

(15:44):
we dive right in. We head to the Pacific Northwest
where the Seattle Seahawks only one in ten in the
last eleven and the stats battle Russell Wilson one in
six straight up and against the spread, and his last
seven starts. Nonetheless, your first the doesn't five takes you
to see him. I'm a contrarian. Seattle Seahawks plus three
and a half. This is all about Deebo Samuel not

(16:06):
being able to play for San Francisco. Remember the book
on San Francisco. When Kittle was out there, all their
offense is completely compromised. Well, Kittle with Samuel is what
makes that offense so so difficult to stop. Samuel has
over a thousand yards eighteen yards per catch, and he
runs the ball as well the other wide receivers. Are

(16:29):
you kidding me that the San France offense won't be
the same and because of that, Seattle will be able
to hang in this game. Seattle plus three and a
half excellent points. I saw that Deebo Samuel was out
as well. The question is can the Seahawks offense score
any points and can they keep the Niners run game?
And Jack Well, the Nighters are gonna be able to

(16:50):
run the ball, but the Seahawks certainly have weapons. Russell
Wilson has not been healthy. If you've been watching Seattle
when he first came back, he was awful. Each game
he's aggressively gotten slightly better to where he was just
mediocre against the football team. I expect a little more
improvement in this game as well. Hopefully can Grip Wilson
and Grip to baltimorrow are in Indianapolis visits Houston tomorrow.

(17:12):
That's significant because number two in the physic five has
to do with the season win prop it in Indianapolis Colts. Yeah,
so the Colts are aligned at eight and Hal wins.
The over is minus two hundred, and I know what
you're asking, Why in the world would I be laying
minus two hundred, Well, Bernie's a lot cheaper lays two
hundred than delay, like minus four hundred on money lines

(17:34):
when they're ten points favorite. The bottom line is Indie
has three games against Cupcakes where they're gonna be favored
by right around ten points. They're gonna have one game
what's gonna be around to pick them when they host
New England, and one game they're gonna be an underdog
at Arizona. You added up the Colts their last nine
games or six and three. They've had six fairly easy
wins and three games they should have won could have

(17:55):
won but somehow lost all three, including the Baltimore debacle
when they're up sixteen in the fourth quarter. This is
a really good team that's only six and six. They're
gonna finish nine and eight. Are better over eight and
a half, even though you have to lay my US
two hundred is one of my biggest bets of the year. Yeah,
and at this point in the season, I don't think
folks should get too excited about have in to lay

(18:16):
to bill or you know, two to make one year.
If you're gonna make fifty percent on your money inside
of five weeks, that's not bad work if you can
get it. I truly think it's like a bet. So
if I told you I've got a baseball game where
I've got the New York Yankees with their ace against
the Orioles with their fifth starter, you'd happily play Milas
two hundred. Same thing here, fair enough, right, let's get

(18:38):
the number three and involves a profit in the Chicago
Bears and the Chicago Bears, uh they are hosting the
Arizona Cardinals. Yeah, I love this one. Darnell Mooney wide
receiver for the Bears to go over sixty reception guards
it's all about the quarterback change. Dalton's at quarterback not
that much of a different him versus fields in terms

(19:01):
of the Bears chance to win the game. But the
winner of this change is Mooney, who is Dalton's favorite
target with the Bears, and we'll see much more usage
and many more targets. Thus, Mooney over the sixty. The
oddsmakers are setting his line more in the season average
than his close relationship with Dalton. Alright, so so far,

(19:23):
we've got Seattle catching three and a half at home
against the visiting San Francisco forty Niners, a divisional game.
The forty Niners are without Deebel Samuel. That's a big loss.
You've got a prop bet season profit. Now refresh in
the over eight and a half wins minus two hundred.
Remember we're already into the second week in December. This

(19:44):
is gonna cash in five weeks if you're on the
right side. Propt Chicago Bears wide receiver Mooney over sixty
receiving yards. They host the Arizona Cardinals tomorrow. Let's slip
to Monday night, where the most bet games in turn
him a ticketcount. Takes us to Buffalo, where the Patriots
visit the Bills, and you've got a profit in this

(20:05):
game as well. And it's all associated with the weather.
It's gonna be a wintry mix of rain and perhaps
snow in Buffalo. Shocker, bad weather and Buffalo in December. Uh,
windy up to winds and I'm gonna pull back the curtain.
This is how pros love playing games like this. Yeah,
we played under forty five. I give it out to

(20:26):
my clients. Guess what the totals forty one right now, Bernie,
We're gonna get at it with some props here. We're
gonna play longest field goal under forty seven and a
half yards, and we're gonna play no score in this
game in the first six minutes because the weather is
going to certainly compromise the teams, and it will most
compromise them when the game first starts as they adjust

(20:47):
to it. Now, folks don't realize fast there's part of
your handicapping toolbox. You've actually got a Doppler radar right
there in your living room. I actually have a weather
guy that that that provides me updates and alerts me.
And I'll say this, and this is a bold statement.
I hope everyone's listening, pull over and write this down.
You can beat the NFL not being able to name

(21:08):
a coach, a quarterback, or a player if you did
nothing but follow weather forecast in college football in the NFL,
there are people that absolutely beat the NFL simply by
playing early weather reports on games like this. That was
forty five at the beginning of the week. That's why
he's a pro. Steve Zik the only two time winner

(21:29):
of the Hilton Super Contest, and not only that, did
it back to back. In addition to the Doppler radar.
One of these weeks fast, we'll get into bara metric
pressure and things of that nature. You talk about the
Canadian high and all that kind of stuff. I know
that when they close the dome, the baseball oftentimes travels
differently than when the domes opened. The ball, for whatever reason,
travels more. Bernie, look this, no score under the in

(21:53):
the first six minutes up until two or three weeks ago, Buffalo,
and statistically the number one defense meanwhile, and the wingles
defense is on it into shape. You know this is
gonna be a heavyweight boxing match getting out of the
ring unless there's a tickoff return or a bad turnover. Boy,
it seems like that that tick tick tick. All of
a sudden, there's nine minutes to go in the first
quarter and you're cashing. All right, let's so let's recap

(22:14):
Fez the Physics five the Seattle Seahawks plus three and
a half at home. That's the best bet side. They're
hosting the Santisco forty Niners. Remember the Niners are without
Deebo Samuel. This is a divisional game with teams getting
points at home. Indeed, prop bet season win totals over
eight and a half wins minus two Prop bet Chicago

(22:36):
wide Receiver movie over sixty receiving yards. They host the
Arizona Cardinals tomorrow Monday Night Football too bets Fez first
six minutes no score and the Monday Night Football longest
field goal under forty seven and a half and clearly
whether a factor in that game. It should one would

(22:59):
think of both prop bets favorably. If you're on the
side the feesics you just so, as I ask every week, Fez,
which of these is your favorite bet if you could
only play one of them? Oh, Indie over the eight
and app wins. That was personally my very biggest bet
all right, sounds good. So coming up, we are going
to in rapid fire fashion, go through a lot of

(23:23):
the NFL games tomorrow, probably try to get to all
of them, and not for nothing, Fez. It's interesting. The
team that has the most tickets on them the Coals,
and they're a heavy road favorite at Houston. But the
team with the most money on them is the most handled,
as they say in the business, is the Miami Dolphins,

(23:44):
and we will talk about those as well in and
get your thoughts. But first, but first, let's go to Demand. No,
there's no vomit out his sweater already, he had mom spaghetti.
He's not nervous on the surface. He looks calm and ready.
It's Brian Freenning with the latest Bernie. I feel like

(24:04):
you're gonna be the star at eight Mile, the second
edition of that movie. I can see that shady. You
didn't know that I did not know. I learned everything
from you, at least something every time we worked together.
So as far as college football, obviously, that's a big
source of conversation. We're looking forward till later on today

(24:25):
at noon Eastern, they are going to announce the top
four teams and that of course college football playoff, and
then they'll announce the other bowl games as well for
the respect of other squads, but number two Michigan making
a statement as to why they belong in that final four.
And after devouring thirteenth ranked Iala forty two to three
for the Big Ten Championship, Wolverine's doing that for the
first time in seventeen years. Fifteenth ranked Pittsburgh overwhelming sixteenth

(24:50):
ranked Wake four to twenty one to come out on
top for the A C C Crown and Panthers quarterback
Kenny Pickett. He had those two touchdown passes and then
there was the viral highlight of him faking a slide
which sort of froze the defense from the Demon Deacons,
and then he went fifty eight yards scampering down field
four of the touchdown. Number four Cincinnati gets the job,

(25:13):
I think gets number twenty one Houston thirty five to
twenty to come out on top for the A C. Crown.
Dez Rod of the Bearcats quarterback three touchdown tosses. He
has not lost a home game during his since he
career at Jerome four. The running back for the Bearcats
one eighty seven yards and two scores third ranked Alabama,
putting number one Georgia in his place forty one to

(25:36):
twenty four on the right on the way to an
SEC title. Bryce Young, the a Banma quarterback, accounted for
four touchdowns and Kirby Smart Georgia head coach now oh
and four all time when facing off against his former employer,
is his former coaching teammate and Nick Saban, who was
yeah four and oh against Smart Utah State overwhelming number

(25:59):
nineteen Sandy got to thirteen for the Mountain of West
Crown Logan Bonner four touchdowns over three yards passing for him.
Then there was a win for a number nine Baylor
as they get the job done to take the Big
twelve title over number five Oklahoma's to sixteen. The Cowboys
had it down two inside the five yard line trying

(26:19):
to score, which would have won them the game, but
they were stonewald fourth and goal at like the two
inch line, and there was also a viral video of
after this happened. Barris said coach Dave Randa with a
stoic look on his face, being emotionless and not celebrating
the while everybody around him was going ecstatic. As far

(26:40):
as the NBA. The King's are winners against the Clippers
one of four to ninety nine, so the Clips lose
in Sacramento for the first time since March of And finally,
the Celtics dominate the Trailblazers to one seventeen Dennis Shrewder
thirty one point and the Warriors fall to nineteen and
four after a loss against the Spurs. Back to a

(27:00):
man who rarely loses in anything, it's Bernie Freddo. All right,
thanks so much, Brian appreciated. All right, let's go back
to our man physic as the Physics five feature continues,
and we will rapid fire go through these NFL games.
And I want to remind everybody that Fez currently thirty
nine and twenty in the Circle Millions contest thirty nine

(27:22):
out of over four thousand entrants. That's a cool fez
against the spread. I might add, as I mentioned, the
Colts were the most beat team Lane tent at Houston.
Houston only three and thirteen against the number as a
home dog. Colts currently are a number ten seed, which
means every game is a playoff game to them. The

(27:42):
problem with the Colts is they played up to the
Titans and Patriots, but then they get beaten by a
bad Jets team. What do you expect to happen later
today between the Colts and the and the Texas. Oh,
I expect that the Colts will win fairly comfortably frankly
at the spread it tent. I'm not doing anything with it.
Would love this come down South, attend get to nine

(28:03):
so I can teasee it down to a minus two
and a half. It certainly would be a teaser if
I could get you know, the spread below, Tom, that
might be one of my plays when I wake up.
But I feel, uh, I feel that it's the game
feels like an attend game Colts. I don't know how
he used its scores, and I'll tell you why. One
of the reasons is Jonathan Taylor should run rough shot

(28:24):
after that Texans run defense. Do you agree? Oh? Absolutely,
and already happened the first time they played. I expectactly
mot more of the same. All right. So I also
mentioned before Brian's update that the Dolphins were the most
beat team in terms of handle and that that's have
become a runaway line. I think they're up to six
and a half. The Dolphins, of course, host the New

(28:46):
York Giants Miami now sixteen and seven straight up seventeen
and six after when Brian Flores has coached the game
after November one, so they have a tendency to get better. Season.
Goes on, do you have a thought on this game?
You know this is weird this game because the Dolphins
were laying three and a half, and then I got
reported Glennon was going to start and the line went

(29:09):
up to five. Well, Glennon, I had this as a
two and a half point down grade versus Jones, So
I thought the line has shot up to six. Well,
now it's finally got there. Burney took a while, but
now that it's that's six or six and a half,
it's right where I made it. If I had to
play it, you know what, I don't even know what's that.
I'd play at six six and a half path fair enough.

(29:30):
Might be a teaser game. I think the Dolphins win.
They've got a nice thing going with two. All right,
says let's go to Detroit. Win. This team's after week
nine against the number the Vikings. No, Dalvin Cook, what
do you like? Heresy seven? I have to emphasize this.
I'm paid to have an opinion on games, but I'm
also paid to give winning advice. Eight out of ten

(29:53):
NFL games are lined approximately correct. Your best off not
playing them the pros. I know they've bet a lot
of games, but they might bet at the openers where
the numbers that moved. So in this game, although I
think the line is approximately right, I certainly can advocate
teas the Vikings down to one because I think the
Vikings will win the game straight up about seventy seven

(30:14):
for some time. It's a good teaser to tease the Vikings,
all right. Another road favorite, the Philadelphia Eagles. They bring
their number one rushing offense into New York. They lay
seven Thoughts. Okay, this line is down to five five
and a half, and that's because Hurts is out. I
agree strongly with the move, and this is one if
you're gonna bet the Jets, I hate to tell you

(30:34):
to take five when you could have had seven, but
if you have to play it, that decided by Here's
why Minshew is only like a half point down grade
for the Eagles versus Hurt. However, Minshew runs a totally
different offense and the Eagles have been clicking with their
running game you nailed it. Now that's going to compromise
the running game and force them to have a completely

(30:55):
different offense. So I got a lean Jets. Interesting. Wow,
you're gonna have to hold your nose. It's to me
seems like a classic game face where a decent team
the Eagles coming off a loss, are facing a bad
team the Jets coming off a win. All right, A
game that's really caught my eye. The Bengals laying three
the pros I believe like the dog and the l

(31:16):
a Chargers. Joe Burrow on four against the number against
non divisional foes, Bengals only three and nine against the
spread after the Pittsburgh game. Your thoughts, Yeah, and a
quick note on the Eagles. If you would have asked
me Tuesday, I would have said I liked the Eagles
six and a half. Well, now I like the Jets
plus five. So it's like the stock market news comes

(31:36):
out and you've got to read it and adjust for
the Chargers. My opinions in the same all week long.
The Chargers are only slightly worse than the Bengals. The
Bengals don't have much of a home field, so if
the Bengals are a half point better and they get
one and half a home field at most that gets
us to two, that does not get us to three.
Three is such a critical number. I like the Chargers, Yeah,

(31:58):
a lot of a lot of the pros do. And
their big road favorite, Tampa Bay at Atlanta. I think
the line he's up to ten. Your thoughts, Yeah, this
line has been all over the place, been ten, eleven
and a half now currently at ten and a half.
I would look only to Atlanta. Atlanta play it's much
better with Cordell Patterson. They had two horrible games when
he wasn't playing. That playmakers so important to the falcon

(32:20):
especially after Ridley left the team this year, and Tampa's
see has not been nearly as good on the road
as it's been at home. When these first two teams
when they played earlier in the year, this was a
three point game in the fourth quarter and then Tampa
finally separated. I think Atlanta hangs in there, losing by
seven like Atlanta. Yeah, I I'm not going to play

(32:40):
the game, but I'm not laying it either. Tampa Bay
only two or nine against the number in the second
of back to back road games. Remember they had that
game in Indianapolis last week, all right to the Rams,
get it get right tomorrow against Jacksonville. They opened up
minus three teen and a half. I think that's down
to twelve and a half. I think Jacksonville's money has
come up. By the way, if you want to have
a little fun fist staff for plus thirty, check that

(33:02):
Stafford plus one thirty as a prop to throw a
pick six in his fourth grade game. I'd certainly bet
the no, not the yes on that. But there are
concerns about Stafford and his health. Apparently he's being held
together with duck Cape similar to Baker and Mayfield. Um.
I was gonna lay it with the Rams, but then
I think the Spots gray up three losses against the

(33:24):
god awful Jacksonville team. But if Stafford is not a pent,
and the eye test says he isn't, I don't think
I can lay the twelve and a half dirty little
secret in December, no one in the NFL, so it
is look at Aaron Rodgers, look at that team, Washington
football team at Las Vegas. Interesting fans. Vegas opens up
as a two and a half point Well, let's just

(33:47):
deal with them here. Now. I think they're minus one.
Here's where I like the Raiders. Your thoughts, they're six
and oh when Derrick carthrows for three hunder yards or
more one five when he doesn't, the red schemes that
bring their thirtieth ranked past defense to town and de
Sean Jackson stepped up. What do you like in this game? Yeah?
The Washington football team defense with injuries. I don't know.
Addition by subtraction, they've been playing a little bit better.

(34:09):
I don't think Waller is gonna play. I think that's
why you know that this line drop down to one um.
But it's a terrible spot for Washington Monday night football.
They get to win short week at the flight three
thousand miles out to Las Vegas, all rights, whatever it is.
Fernie gets a long trip. I would only look to
the Raiders fair enough to other quick games, rapid fire fashion,

(34:30):
another home dog Pittsburgh catching four and a half an
ome big bend nine and two against the number as
a home dog. What do you like? But by the way,
I think Justin Tucker is the one NFL player that
is still one healthy for the Ravens. But you know
what that means. The Rickmans are gonna win by three,
not by seven. I think these teams always historically played

(34:51):
very close games. So if the spreads above three, I
would leave Pittsburgh. Yeah, I gotta hold your nose. I
think I'm gonna get on to it again tomorrow. Last
night they really screwed the last week. They really screwed
the pouch against Cincinnati. Maybe look like a fool, but
like Tomlin, he's nineteen and eight against the number in
games following a contest where his team's given up thirty points. Alright,

(35:12):
final game, we go to Monday night football. First, I
told you back when the Patriots are two and four,
a missfield goal, joinking a fumble inside the five. They
took a very good Dallas team in overtime in Dallas.
Was the best game of the year. They've righted the
ship one six in a row. There are on their way.
They got a shop for the playoffs. They host check
that they had to Buffalo Monday. Who do you like?

(35:33):
I make the game two point seven five, So at
two and a half, I would lean towards Buffalo. At three,
I'd like New England again. I'm gonna pull back the
curtain a little Burnie. There's a quarterly prize in the
circuit millions. It pays a hundred seventy seven thousand. I
have an entry that's thirteen and two. It's in second place,
tied with a bunch of guys. The first place guys
fourteen and one. The spread and the contest is two

(35:56):
and a half. I knew the leader would go Buffalo
because it's the good wine on the Monday night game,
so I can trari in it. I played New England
plus the two and a half. This maybe the first
time all year you'll see me play a game. I
could have been plus three at two and a half,
knowing I needed to pick up a game on him
to win that prize. I'd rather have your ticket than his.
Just keeping it real, all right, eas Steve Feast The

(36:19):
Pheasant five will be back und sixty seven hours, right
back in this slot next week for week fourteen. Good
luck today, Fest, thank you, and I'll be listening to
Brian's update, Scott. I love those. Thank you, Bernie, very
nicely done. All right, coming up, you want to own
an NFL team, Hey, I'll tell you how. I'm Bernie

(36:39):
Fratto Comedy Live from the Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio studios.
Keep it locked. You're listening to Fox Sports Sunday on
Fox Sports Radio. You're back on Fox Sports Sunday, Fox
Sports Radio. I'm Bernie Fraddo Comedy Live from the Las
Vegas Fox Sports Radio Studios. Take up to three am Pacific,
six am Eastern, getting you ready for Week thirteen the NFL.
Before going, you further, want to give a shout out

(37:00):
to our guy Chewy and Houston and that Chiwi always
likes to spread the well to and he I promised
him we'd also give a shot out to the folks.
He wants to give a shout out to the podcast
Sports with Balls and the hosts who make it possible,
Jeff Michael, Lauren Leo, shout out to all you find
folks in Houston. All Right, as I mentioned, uh, do

(37:22):
you want to own an NFL team? So here's your chance. Okay,
the Green Bay Packers. They are the only publicly owned,
not for profit professional sports team in the United States.
They do this every so often. They are sailing shares.
So if I say this in quotes stock, okay, for

(37:43):
just they've only done this six times in a hundred years.
And the sale began last week and it's gonna run
through February. Now they're releasing three thousand shares and they're
available for three dollars per share, which would net the
team million. On of me, let me lay this out
for you. Of note, the Packers they currently have a

(38:06):
little over three hundred and sixty one thousand shareholders and
together they own over five million shares that were amassed
through five previous sales going all the way back to
nineteen twenty three. And they did it again in nineteen
thirty five, did again in nineteen fifty. They didn't even
do it for forty seven years, they do until again

(38:27):
till then they did it again in twenty eleven. They
won the Super Bowl that year. Interestingly enough, they also
won the Super Bowl in ninety seven, and they're doing
it again this year. So here's how it works. Now.
Packers stock isn't really a stock. It's just it's a collectible.
That's basically what it is. It can't be sold dozen pain,
any dividends, You don't get any saying team matters, although

(38:50):
I guess you get to vote sometimes the shareholder meetings.
But think of this more as a gimmick. It's a collection.
It's a collectible. It's a donation, but hey, the holidays
coming up might be the perfect gift for the NFL
fan in your life. And the team they're gonna you
wonder what are they gonna use these funds for. They're

(39:12):
gonna help finance more upgrades at lambeau Field. So if
you're interested, and I bet people are, go to Packers
dot com to become an owner. I say that in quotes,
go to Packers dot com for more information. Uh not
for nothing. We didn't talk about the Denver Kansas City game.
And all four teams in the a f C West

(39:35):
are actually five hundred above and or above either at
five hundred or above five hundred. And the Broncos who
started out three and oh they're just an infuriating team
for their fans. But they had a great victory over
the Cowboys. Then it followed up by a lackluster effort
against the Eagles. Subsequently in Week twelve, they controlled the

(39:56):
Chargers offense and played great defense. Who the hell are
the Denver Broncos? Now you know I'm high on Titny Bridgewater.
He hasn't had a great year, but he's still twenty
four and five as a road dog, but Andy Reid
coming off of buy is twenty and three straight up,
fifteen and eight against the spread. However, you got all
like ten points and Vic Fangio is owned four against

(40:18):
the Chiefs is Denver's head coach. Only once has this
game been decided by a score or lesson If you
followed all that, you're better than me. What's the moral
of the story. I would not bet this game wouldn't
surprise me if the Chiefs one thirty to seventeen, wouldn't
surprise me. If the Broncos it was a one score
game and it came down with the wire. I don't
think the Broncos can win there. They're just better games

(40:39):
on the board. By the way, Coming up a little
over an hour, we've got what kind of brand new
fool are you? You do not want to miss this?
Rare every views across the nation. Lots of yucks by
the crazy things people do in these US states and
around the world. Coming up Major League Baseball, We've got
a lock. I told you it was gonna happen. Stick

(41:01):
and stay. This is Bernie Fratto with Fox Sports Sunday
and Fox Sports Radio. The Fox Sports Sunday Train rules
right on right here on Fox Sports Radio. I'm Bernie Fratto,
come to you live from the Las Vegas Fox Sports
Radio Studios. Will take you up to three am Pacific,
six am Eastern. We air mere eight hours in fifty

(41:22):
nine minutes from NFL kickoff for Sunday Week thirteen. We
are seven hours and fifty nine minutes from the selection show.
Although I think it's fairly well moot. We believe Alabama
will be number one, Georgia or Michigan to Georgia three
and Cincinnati four, and we'll get to that a little
bit later, but it feels like that's what's coming down

(41:45):
the pike. I want to remind you Discover. Real credit
card questions require real people, someone who understand your issues
and works to resolve them with you. That's why Discover
offers helpful US based representatives available seven Discover exceptionally common sense.
All right, it happened. I've been saying this is what

(42:07):
happened since May when I joined Mike Harmon and LaVar
Arrington on their Sunday morning show. At the time, and
baseball was trying to figure out how to cobble together
that goofy COVID season that was sixty games. Remember that,
And I basically said, look, I covered the ninety four
strike and I commented that under the surface, the same

(42:28):
elements exist. Now, simply put the owners one of the
salary cap, and frankly, I think they want one now.
For the past few years they've been treating the current
luxury tax instrument as idi facto salary cap. So what
happened this week? The c b A expired Eastern time

(42:50):
on a Wednesday night. The two sides were not close
to an agreement, and there was no extension of the
current contract. The owner's version uh was not liked by
the players and vice versus. So the the Major League
Baseball owners have locked out the players since the collective
Bargaining Agreement expired on Wednesday. Now, this is the ninth

(43:13):
work stoppage in the first since there was one in
seventy two, seventy three, seventy six eight. You see that
until these untill these things got settled, there was never
much labor. Piece. Of course, that was the infamous one
that canceled the World Series. Man, I remember, like yesterday,

(43:34):
I'm telling you, the same kind of tension exists lock
out versus strike. What does that mean? Well, if an
employer withholds work, they lock you out. If workers withhold service,
that's a strike. Neither one is is particularly a day
at the day at the park. That's not a picnic. However,

(43:55):
lock outs are far less intrusive because if you look
at the history of Major League Baseball, the five strikes
led to over seventeen hundred canceled games, including a canceled
World Series, but the three lockouts zero canceled games. Now,
my opinion, world series are series. Spring training is not
gonna start on time. We'll see, we'll be around March one.

(44:18):
I don't think it is with the radio season start
on time. I'm not gonna go that far yet, but
everything is on the table. You don't know how piste off.
These guys already each other. The players want competitive integrity,
all right. They believe tanking and revenue sharing among owners
has really disincentivized spending. They're trying to get earlier pay

(44:40):
days to players to ensure prime playing years concert coincide
with prime earning years, and the owners want things to
kind of stay the same. Here's the problem that Major
League Baseball set new revenue records for seventeen straight years
through while average players soraries have dropped. It's so let

(45:02):
the war begin, and it's gonna be one now. Baseball
was a one billion dollar industry. Let me go back.
Let me go back for a second. There are some
heated issues that are going to rise to the level,
and you'll hear people commenting on them right now because
the games aren't being played and because the NFL is raging,

(45:23):
in college football's raging. It's it's under the radar, But
it's not gonna be under the radar. I promise you.
When January rolls around, and then when February rolls around,
and after the Super Bowl is over, you will find
that this will start to become quite a topic. But
the heated issues have to do basic basically with player

(45:44):
pay and competitive balance. As I just mentioned, average salaries
have fallen in recent years due to teams basically leaning
on cheaper players, younger players, and those similaries are under
greater team control. Here's what's interesting. The median salary has
dropped about thirty since but baseball is now in an

(46:08):
eleven billion dollar industry. It's doubled since two eight, but
players salaries on the aggregate in that thirteen year period
and only increased during that time. By the way, to
get this some perspective, major League Baseball was a one
billion dollar game back in when they canceled the World Series,

(46:30):
grew to about a five six billion dollar game in
two thousand eight, and now it's an eleven billion dollar game.
So under this econometric model that has been employed, it's working.
And I know the players what they are seeing is
that the percentage of their piece of the pie is dwindling.

(46:51):
Now Tony Clark, the executive director of the Major League
Baseball Players Association. He released a statement Thursday that he
thought that the lockout was a dramatic measure and and
it didn't really need to do that. It wasn't required
by any law. It's just you know, and he said,
you know, you want to freeze out the players. It's
not going to break the resolve. Here's here's Clark's quote. Quote.

(47:13):
It was the owner's choice, plain and simple, specifically calculated
to pressure players into relinquishing rights and benefits and abandoning
good faith bargaining proposal that will not benefit oh, that
will benefit not just players, put the game in industry
as a whole. Now, I gotta tell you back, I

(47:36):
was firmly against the players. This time, I'm against the
owners because the econometric model has been working. And why
they want to give the players less pie when I
just shared with you the growth of the game that's
growing tenfold. Uh, if it ain't broke, why do you
have to fix it? You see players null and they

(48:00):
got the data to prove it that that the owners,
I guess I could use the word allegedly, so don't
get in trouble. But they're using luxury tax as a
de fact of salary cap. But at the very least
they've they've they've set the tax ceiling at a much
higher level. It was two ten million including salaries and
benefits for the entire forty man roster for season. And

(48:21):
it's not reason at a rate commensurate with revenues when
you consider this as now and eleven billion dollar industry. Now.
The two sides exchanged proposals Wednesday, and I understand they
met for all of about seven minutes. The players requested
a two DT five million dollar luxury at tax threshold.
What that basically means is that any team that exceeded

(48:43):
there payroll, they're they're a team payroll exceeded two hundred
and forty five million, the luxury tax would kick in.
Then it's currently two million. And they wanted to write
language in there that made sure there were no progressive
penalties for an offenders. What did the owners counter with
a two million dollar threshold? Uh, that would you know,

(49:07):
gradually rise to two d and twenty million in the
final year of what would be a five year agreement.
So as you can see, the owners only want to
raise it incrementally with the players want to raise it
about That's kind of the specific thing. That's the core
of the issue. That's the heart of the negotiation right now,
if you want to call a negotiation, how teams view

(49:29):
that as a cap and won't spend too much over
that despite the penalties are pretty negligible. All right, Then again,
you got a guy and you know in New York
with the met Steve Cohen, he wants to win, man,
he wants to win. Now the players desired they want
to alter the compensation. It is a little bit aggressive

(49:51):
and and and by the way, there are some on
field issues having to do with things that got don't negotiate,
like an expanded playoffs, which I come I've made peace
with I think it's good for the game. I think
what it creates is as you get into September, instead
of teams drawing dead, meaning they've got no chance to
get to the postseason and they're playing out the string,

(50:14):
you have got more opportunities for teams in your hometown
team to perhaps get into the postseason. Might it slightly
diminish the integrity of the regular season, might have penalized
a team that games. There's ways around that. There's ways
to create buys, there's ways, there's ways to create a

(50:34):
field tournament so that the regular season does matter. But
you're merely opening the door for more teams to get
to the postseason. But so expanded playoffs, they're gonna negotiate
a pitch clock, the designated hitter. And you know, the
players don't really they don't really want to change much.

(50:56):
They just don't. Um Now, I know that that the
Players Association countered the proposal for a four team team
playoff field with a twelve team option. Now that will
also boost TV revenue, But from their perspective, the players, again,
they believe a twelve team option maintains the integrity of
a of the regular season while still making the you know,

(51:20):
the postseason, you know, still very very competitive and and
and meaningful. Look, baseball is an interesting animal. The one
World Series I covered was two thousand six between the
Tigers and the St. Louis Cardinals, and Tigers were one
four games that year. Uh. In the playoffs, they moved

(51:41):
through the Yankees, they moved through the Oakland as they
got to St. Louis. St. Louis had been eighty three
and seventy nine during the season. You put those two
teams on the field, and never forget with Mark Wilson.
Uh and the first night was freezing in Detroit and
Albert Poole host hit a ball about nine feet and
it was on. The Cardinals went on to win that
series season five, when many people were predicting a Tiger's sweep.

(52:04):
So the baseball playoffs are far more unpredictable and wide
open as a tournament then I think of the all
the other sports combined. So we've seen situations where teams
did not have a great regular season record caught fire
in the playoffs. The one thing that expanded playoff would

(52:24):
do would certainly UH create I think more broad based
interest In September but the truth of the matter is
we're a long away from that. Baseball is in its
off season, and you know the lockouts effects. All they
really do is limit offseason roster transactions like free agency signings, UH,

(52:46):
minor league physicals, and the sides have two months to
reach a deal before a lockout would start to affect
spring training. I do not believe they will. So what
I want to do is I want to bring in
the crew. Now we've got baseball fans here, and we
got some big baseball fans in l A. And the
Chris of course in Detroit was the years he was
detroiting members the Tigers. I want to get their thoughts,

(53:10):
as quote fans, meaning from the fans standpoint, take off
your Fox Sports Radio hat. And the fact that we're
even having this conversation, the fact that the word lockout
is uttered, the fact that baseball finds himself in this
suspending animation as it were, knowing full well this could
spend out of control. I want to see how they

(53:32):
feel about that. Since the game has come such a
long way since the damage was done back in it's
more than recovered, it's grown tenfold. I'm Bernie Frider where
comedy live from the Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio Studios.
Keep it locked right here, you don't go away, and
listening to Fox Sports Sunday on Fox Sports Radio. We're

(53:57):
back on Fox Sports Sunday, Fox Sports Radio and Bernie
Freddock in Your Life from the Las Vegas Fox Sports
Radio Studios. We're talking about Major League Baseball and the
fact that yes, they're in a lockout. You may not
know it, you may not feel it, but trust me,
it is there, and if Baseball isn't watch it, it it
will be like a lobster in boiling water. Doesn't look

(54:17):
like there's much action, and then poof, you boil the lobster.
I am on record is saying, I do not believe
the season will check that string training will start March one.
This has the same field as when I cut my
teeth in radio. I covered the strike extensively and the
things allowed up to it and the ankst and the
conversation was taking place, and it's eerily similar now because

(54:40):
the owners, frankly, I believe one a salary cap. They
always have and they're treating the current luxury tax as
a de facto salary cap. The proof is in the pudding.
The game continues to grow. It's an eleven billion dollar industry,
but aggregate salaries have shrunk since revenues have doubled. Old

(55:01):
it's just two eight, but salaries could go on. And
let's bringing the crew. Got some real baseball fans here.
Knee jerk reaction, Chris Perfette, What is your take on
this news Wednesday and what is the prevailing thoughts ruling
around your mind? For me, Bernie, it's I feel like

(55:21):
the owners have overreached here, and I feel like they're
going to really I think they're still playing on old
playbook and maybe they get fans in their corner. But
for me as a fan, and for a lot of
younger fans and for people who have kind of gravitated
to baseball, they're the villains here. They're they're absolutely the
villains here. And it's you keep mentioning a salary cap.

(55:42):
But I think anyone who's watched baseball or followed their
team closely, if you're not like a New York Yankees fan,
has a different reaction. Hey what about a ceiling floor?
Because plenty of teams are crying poorhouse when they are
pocketing more and more revenue and putting less and less
of it into their payroll, which I think the players
are rightfully pointing out that teams are just taking this,

(56:05):
you know, wealth that has flooded into baseball and they're
just not putting it to use some teams. You're right
by the way across the board, like we have revenue sharing, Bernie,
like this is something where Yeah, but that's a different
conversation now, but it's it's part of it's part of
the pot. It's part of the pot. Every team gets
revenue sharing now and they're just pocketing all of that money. Yeah, Okay, careful.

(56:28):
First of all, the revenue sharing has been going on
since ninety four, and you're not wrong, but it's not
a blanket thing across the board. The question I asked
you is, as a fan, how does this make you
feel about the game of baseball? Does it piss off?
Does you This was inevitable. We had twenty seven years
a piece, and you do bring up a good point.
We have to discuss this on the Future show. The

(56:48):
owners have always wanted a cap, but for to be
a cap, there has to be a floor. Here's the problem.
Players will never agree to a cap. Mark my words
on that. Anyway, as a fan, there's just piss off.
Are you stock you're not worried yet because you're still
wants to get it resolved? What thought? No? I mean,
as you just heard my in my tone there, I am.
I am kind of teed off on this because it's
just I've watched teams just cry poor house. Well, they

(57:11):
have plenty of money to go around. I've watched which
Rob Manfred's out there talking about, which I mean, I
don't know, man, The Pirates just seem to not allergic
to spending money. The Tigers seem to be allergic to
spending money. Rob Manfred's out here talking about how well,
the worst thing we see is when a player leaves
in free agency where it's like, no, I I watched

(57:34):
a whole offseason, a free agency where players like you Darvish,
we're getting stiffed out. Like, as a fan, I want
to see these teams spend I want to see them
invest in players, and they're just not doing it. And
I just see incredibly greedy ownership that has overreached. There's
plenty of money wealthed in and they just want to

(57:55):
cut out players from more of the pie. I feel
like as a fan, I am speaking as a fan here.
I think the players are in the right hold on there. Okay,
we're all over the map here, because I was afraid
of this in future shows. I'll let you give your analysis.
And teams are spending. They send a billion six okay,
but it's it's concentrated and the tigers are spending. And

(58:15):
I'm very intimately connected to the organization. Alavila took over
for the Illage family and he was given a directive
of the last five years to get the payerill under control,
which he did. They just spent a hundred and forty
million dollars on hobby bias, and they're gonna bring in
more guys. They're close to competing. So we've gotta be
careful of these analyzes in blanket analyzes like teams are

(58:37):
crying poor, not that's not happening to the owners. You're
not wrong about one thing though. The owners are greedy
and they're manipulating the system that's working, which bothers me
as a fan. What bothers me? We've got on econometric
model that's proven to work from now they've grown the
game for one billion dollars to eleven billion dollars and

(58:58):
when the tide rises, all the boats rise. All I
want tonight, guys, is as a fan, your knee jerk
reaction Brian Family, I know you're a big baseball fan.
As a fan, what's your reaction when you heard the
owners were locking out the players? So Bernie. For me,
it's I don't think the casual fan realizes just how
tense this is. I think they generally have this assumption that, oh,

(59:21):
everything is gonna be okay. Once we get closer to
the season, we're gonna be on track and ready to go.
I don't think it's really hit people for the most
part the mainstream that this is really serious and right?
Is that how you feel about it? I I totally no, no, no, no,
I don't. But I think that a lot of you
don't think it's serious. I'm just talking about you. No, no,
I don't think that. Okay, I think it's serious, But

(59:44):
I think the casual sports fan and the baseball fan
assumes that this is gonna be all figured out by
the start of the season and everything's gonna be okay
and marry. But it's really not. Bernie that easy, And
I just don't think people realize that, at least the
casual sports fan fan. I agree with that because they
weren't there in ninety four and cooler heads didn't prevail,

(01:00:05):
and I don't feel they're going to prevail now. And
it will the heat will get ratcheted up. Uh, when
you get into March and we start to lose spring
training games, then the reality and the gravity will set.
And I'm telling you, I've been there, I've seen this,
and Chris, you're definitely right about one thing. The owners
are at fault here. They're they're messing with the Golden
Goose in their own ways. And we'll get into this

(01:00:27):
in future shows. All I'm trying to get tonight our
first impressions, and I think, Brian, I'm anna agreement with
you that people are brushing this off all hell, it's
it's not even a Christmas yet, we're not even in January.
They'll figure it out. There's too much money and no
deductive reasoning has never worked with these knuckle heads, and
I don't think it's gonna work now. We'll see Bo
Benson your knee jerk reaction when you heard what happened Thursday. Uh,

(01:00:50):
solidarity with the players to be honest with you, um,
and I guess as a fan like it's you just
have to know the difference between a strike and a lockout,
like you explained, So as soon as you see lockout,
you know that the players aren't the one that don't
want to be working right now. So I think the
players are correct, and I do think they'll get it

(01:01:10):
worked out because there's just too much money on both
sides now for it to not uh get fixed. But
I I do think that spring training is gonna start
a little bit late, but they'll they were not gonna
miss any games, I don't think. Okay, so that was
gonna have go around the room one more time. So
you believe spring training will start after March one? Yes
or no? Yeah? I think spring training will be a

(01:01:32):
little delayed, but I think the regular season will start
on time, which is similar to what happened, by the way,
but it was only delayed a few days. But again
everything changed, uh, Brian Friently, will spring training start on
time March first? Yes or no? I'm skeptical. I'm I'm weary.
I don't think it starts on time, Bernie, I'm anna agreement.

(01:01:53):
Chris Perfette. Will spring training start before or after March One?
That's gonna start after? Fair enough? Guy is do anybody
that Chris to stay with you? Do you think the
regular season will start on time? I think it's at
this point it will still start on time. I think
that there's probably they can Neither side really want to
avoid losing time. I want to have losing time if

(01:02:16):
they can, if they can help it. Sure, well, I
think that's a reasonable response at this time. Let's assume
that it's a reasonable assumption that the regular season starts
on time. I'm giving it a fifty fifty. It won't.
And I know how piste off these sides already each
other and feel like, well, I think that's about right.
Like I, I think the one key factor is how

(01:02:36):
stubborn and pig headed the owners are going to be,
because they seem to be just really into this idea
that they can sweat out players. Hyah, we're all in agreement.
One thing. We're on the we're on the player's side.
And and and if you know, if you know the
facts surrounding this, you would be too Brian Filly with
a regular season start on time, yes or no? I

(01:02:57):
am going no, Bernie, I I don't think it is,
and I think that people are underestimating what's going on
behind the scenes here and the war that's going on
between both sides. Yeah, I I lean that way to
boll Benson, You've got the final vote. With the regular
season start on time? Yeah, I I think the regular

(01:03:19):
season will start on time. Like I said, there's just
way too much money involved at this point to not
get it started on time. But I do think that
if it is going to start on time, I don't
think the players are going to win their cb A.
It'll be interesting to see where this goes because they
are already in the area of splittable differences, but they

(01:03:40):
were there in ninety four. We're gonna talk about this
for a few minutes almost every week, guys, because I
think baseball is really enjoying a real renaissance. Stars in
the game, stadiums are packed, major markets are doing well.
It's just you've got this bugaboo where this c b
A and the players got them dead or rights. You
look the revenues the last five years, they've risen, but

(01:04:02):
they have not shared it with uh the players coming up,
I want to revisit the coaching carousel changes and react
to the various schools, not just LSU, not just Oklahoma
that'll be getting new coaches, and give you my thoughts.
But first let's go to the man. His soul is
escaping through the whole escaping. But the world is his

(01:04:22):
for the taking. It's Bryan Friendly with the lady. Thank you.
I want a copy of that Bernie Fretto mixtape as
soon as that comes out. As far as the NFL,
we're gonna give you a couple of nuggets. As far
as some injury developments here in comparison or leading up
to that is to Week thirteen, Raiders running back Josh
Jacobs and wide receiver to Shun Jackson, according to NFL

(01:04:42):
Network gather dealing with injuries, but they are on track
to play against the Washington football team. Rams wide out
Odell Beckham Jr. Was hampered with this hip injury, but
it appears not to be getting in his way for
the upcoming game. Chiefs running back quad Clyde Edwards Hilaire
is recovering from a non COVID ill this and it
is a green light to play against the Broncos College

(01:05:04):
Football Playoff. It will be announced those four teams at
noon to eastern today. At number two, Michigan seemingly looks
to have solidified its spot in the final four after
they blaze past number thirteen Iowa forty two to three
on Saturday. As we look at college football, with the
Wolverines taking the Big Ten championship here first time they've

(01:05:26):
done it in seventeen years, Fifteenth ranked Pittsburgh captures the
A C C crown after they defeat number sixteen Wake
four Is forty five to twenty one. Panthers quarterback Kenny
Pickett two touchdown passes. He also galloped fifty eight yards
for a touchdown as well Dez Ritter and number four Cincinnati.

(01:05:47):
They devastate number twenty one Houston to twenty in Sinci
on the way to a A A C title. That is,
Ritter had three touchdown tosses and his teammate jerowned Ford
seven yards on the ground along with two scores. Third
ranked Alabama humbling number one Georgia forty one to twenty
four to take home the SEC crown. Bryce Young, the

(01:06:11):
band of quarterback, accounted for four touchdowns and Bulldogs that
coach Kirby Smart is now owing four all time against
Crimson Tide head coach and Nick Saban, Utah State winning
in convincing fashion the Mountain West Championship over then eleven
and one and nineteen rank San Diego State forty six

(01:06:31):
to thirteen. So a big win there for US you.
Number nine. Baylor upsets fifth ranked Oklahoma State twenty one
to sixteen. The Cowboys had several chances right around the
goal line at the end of the game, but they
could not punch it in. They were inches short on
fourth and goal from winning this thing. And when it
comes to the NBA, the Clippers lose on the road

(01:06:54):
to the Kings one of four to nine. The Celtics
demoralized the Trailblazers to one step a teen Dennis Shrewder
thirty one point and the Spurs notch of victory against
the Warriors one twelve to one oh seven as Golden
State drops to nineteen and four. So Bernie, even that loss,
I still think that the Warriors are back, and there

(01:07:16):
was a lot of discussion about that if that would happen,
But it looks like they are trending in the right direction,
although it's very young in the season. Bernie Fritto back
to you. Yeah, the Warriors are loaded. Man. You can't
win every game in nor just should they want to
win every game, and they'll get Clay Thompson back here
after the first of the year. All right, Lincoln Riley
was hired by the USC Trojans, and I gotta tell you,

(01:07:38):
I believe with all my heart the Trojans are back.
Why look, you got a great quarterback at Clemson women.
Not a great one, but his stud coming out of
certain area staying with Alabama, Mississippi, Miami, and they're all
southern California. And if you could just recruit southern California,
my god, just draw a fence around Ali County, Orange County,
San Diego County, even up at the bar USC will

(01:08:01):
be a national champion within four years. That's how much
talent is here. I remember, I remember the great Trojans teams.
I went to every Rules Bowl between seventy five and
eighty three, and I the seventy nine Trojan team strikes
me as one of the greatest of all time. They
put forty two players in the NFL at least have
a couple of coffee. He had two Husband Trophy winners

(01:08:22):
in the backfield, Marcus Salon was the blocking back for
Charles White. Now here's what's interesting. Both of them were
for Southern California. Charles White from the Valley, Marcus Allen
was from San Diego. I think they both want high
some trophies as well. What's the moral. They're loaded with
talent in Southern California. And Lincoln Riley has done a

(01:08:43):
great job at Oklahoma. He filled in for Bob Stoops.
I think his record was like thirty eight and ten
or something crazy, forty three and ten. He's got a
reputation as one of the top offensive minds in college football.
He's coached two times Trophy winners a quarterback. He's considered
a real innovator in the air raid offense, and he's
also developed several All American offensive linemen. Now, back in

(01:09:06):
the day, the USC teams were student body right, student
body left. But they could also pass. Make no mistake,
they could do it all. And Pete Carroll, you saw
a glimpse of it in the early two thousands when
USC would go into Auburn and beat him twenty three
to nothing and put fifty on Arkansas. And I remember
that seventy eight Trojan team they went out into Alabama
and Alabama was number one at the time with Bear

(01:09:28):
Bryant Jeff Rutlets at quarterback loaded, they were loaded, just
like they are now. USC led seven late in the
fourth quarter, ended up beating Obama and Tuscaloosa that year
to four. Team USC went on to beat Michigan and
the Rose Bowl. There were no playoffs or with nothing
like that. A p voted up, I voted, and somebody
actually voted Alabama number one, even though USC beat them

(01:09:51):
in their own backyard by double digits, and so you
had split national champions that year. Once the moorrow of
the story, Riley's moved to USC might come to a
shock to the college football world, not only because of
the profile of his most recent job, but it just sounded.
It seemed to come out of nowhere. The long and
the short of it is, I really believe it's a

(01:10:11):
Grand Slam home run. If you're listening there in SoCal,
the Trojans are back, uh and it's not gonna take long.
I truly believe that. I think the Florida Gators are
also getting a very good coach in Billy Napier. He's
the Gators give credit where credits due. Theyn't have one
of the best coaches at the Group of five level.
Napier has done an excellent job at Louisiana, won his

(01:10:33):
Bowl game. He only lost one game this year and
that was the Texas and l s U kind of
sat on its hands and watched him leave the state.
And by the way, Napier is also a former Nick
Saban assistant. But look, the Ridge and Cagents had a
double digit win seasons in each of the past three years.
It took over for a team that their offense. Uh

(01:10:56):
was first of all his records like thirty two and five.
And he recruited well too. Uh they have the Louisiana
had the number one recruiting ranking in the Sun Belt
Conference for four straight years. Now. I don't know if
his staff is gonna come with him, but look these coaches.
Every now and then a coach comes out of You
can't say he's coming out of nowhere because people know
who he is. But now he's going to be on

(01:11:17):
a national stage in the in the SEC and we'll
see if Florida can return to that kind of prominence
they used to have Washington and they hired a coach
I guarantee. You've probably never heard of his name as
Kalin Dbor. He's considered a secret star in the coaching ranks,
and he's making his debut as a head coach. Now.

(01:11:38):
He started at Sioux Falls, where he played in college.
I know, they're not front and center on the radar.
Then he became the team's offensive coordinator after he graduated.
Then he got bumped up to head coach in two
thousand five, led them to three straight n AI titles
or actually three straight or three and a five year period.
Then he you know, he made the steps up the
ladder Southern Illinois Eastern Mission in Fresno State, Indiana. We

(01:12:01):
turned back to Fresno State again. Here's a guy whose
offense is ranked in the top among a hundred and
thirty FBS teams in terms of passing efficiency. Now, the
Washington Huskies, I remember, we're always terrific. They produced, you know,
Warren Moon and brock Heward. Look, it's really it's only

(01:12:22):
been recently in the last three years they've gone off
a cliff. Chris Peterson even got into the playoffs back
I believe in. So the truth of the matter is,
we'll see if Kayla the pack twelve is is wide
open for the taking, and we'll see if Kaylin Debor
can get them there. From from what I hear, they're
very high on this higher in up there, in in

(01:12:42):
in in the Great Northwest, in Seattle, in the Seattle area,
and the pac ten is better when USC is good,
when U. C l A Is good. Winking an odd
to Washington, Oregon has been sensational for years. I have
a funny feeling and I'm not really sure if if
if Cristal Ball is going to go to Miami, but

(01:13:02):
we'll see. Votech. Virginia Tech is also a proud program
that has been under the radar of the last few years,
but they've always been highly competitive. Uh. They hired their
Penn State defensive coordinator, Brent Prye. He'll become the new
head coach at at Virginia Tech. He'd been a graduate
assistant years ago at at Virginia Tech. He returns and

(01:13:25):
along the way again makes the rounds Louisiana, Georgia, Southern
Vanderbilt and then Penn State. Votech always had the great defenses,
remember under Frank Beemer, the great special teams under Frank Beamer,
and what Brent Price is gonna bring is an aggressive
you know defense that plays downhill, known for very aggressive

(01:13:46):
blitzing mentality. He's produced very good defenses that during his
time at Happy Valley, since becoming the defensive coordinator in
the last five years, and he's ranked in the top
five six and the last seven years when it comes
to e p A yards per play. So Virginia Tech

(01:14:07):
will welcome him, Brent Pryor with open arms because they
finished ninth in the SEC this past season, uh in
terms of defense and that's that's in the a SEC. Finally,
I mentioned it earlier. I think l s U has
got a real gim and Brian Kelly, you you can
make fun of him, and I know he's clunky, he's
not great, doesn't work a room real well. He's always
got that look on his face like he just smelled

(01:14:28):
bad flatulence. But you talk about a recruiting tapestr, you
just like southern California. You can stay inside the state
of Louisiana and have more athletes and you know what
to do with Kelly. Will know what to do with him.
He won two national championships at Grand Valley State. He
turned around the programs in Central Michigan and Cincinnati before

(01:14:48):
becoming the all time winning his coach at Notre Dame
over great names like Rockney or Partigean lou Holtz. Look
Brian Kelly, forget the mill or whatever he's getting. There
are two things you'll never be able to come role
at Notre Dame admissions and discipline. And they're gonna work
with him and French players. He might not have been
able to get in an Notre Dame. I think they
were able to do that at l s u UH

(01:15:10):
great financial or a great academic institution. They just have
slightly different standards. Kelly is going to take a full
advantage of them. Look for him two within the next
two or three years, being near the top of the
SEC and what continues to be a more crowded and
loaded SEC. Alright coming up, You know you love McKenley
without him, It is that time of the evening. We

(01:15:31):
are going to do the first of our two segments
of MacKinnon Sports with Mackenzie Rivers and Mackenzie is going
to share with us the teams that have been bet
on the most over the last month and we'll chop
it up that among other things on Bernie Frattle Company,
a line from Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio Studios. Stick

(01:15:53):
and stay. You're listening to Fox Sports Sunday in Fox
Sports Radio. Shout out to Fox Sports Radio Led and
Arnie Sparriner, who's dutifully taking his wife to the airport.
As we proceed with our show tonight, we'll take up
to three m Pacific, six am Eastern. Man, we're just
getting started. We got so much more to go coming up.
We've still got what kind of brand new fool you.

(01:16:15):
You do not want to miss this pull over? Pull
over because you'll be you'll be laughing so hard you
you might drive into a poll. We don't want that
to happen. And of course we've got another rousing condition,
what my name? And then of course later on in
the show, Chris Perfect with his weekly soccer report, which
is also catching on. But first we've got it's that time, folks.

(01:16:38):
You know him, you love, you can't live without him.
Time for macin on Sports with Mackenzie Rivers. Mackenzie, as
we had the week thirteen in the NFL, you've amassed
a lot of interesting data that people don't stop to
think about. Yes, here at pregame dot Com. Not only
do we have the feeds govern given us all the
Westgate lines, all the Circle lines, all the lines across

(01:16:58):
the country. But better than computers, better than spiders and feeds,
we have humans, real life humans, a k a. Myself
looking at every single NFL spread every single day, accounting
for injuries, change of venue happened with the Packers and
Saints this year, any kind of offsets to determine where
the money, Not the injury reports and anything of that,

(01:17:20):
but the money when it comes down between when the
world opener on Sunday six days later, when the games
tip off, where does the money come down? And I
identified two teams that throughout this year and especially recently
the Sharps love, one of them being the Philadelphia Eagles
and the other being Joe Burrows Cincinnati Bengals. What do

(01:17:44):
you make of those two teams as we round on
the end of the year. Well, I like the Eagles.
Tomorrow they bring the number one rush offense. I realized
that Jalen Hurts is not playing. But actually, like Gardner
mentsh you slightly better to me McKenzie. That is a
game where you've got the better team. The Eagles cutting
off a loss versus a team that's not very good

(01:18:05):
coming off a win. Now the Bengals team, I'm not
getting anywhere near. It's interesting you mentioned that, uh mackenzie,
because it's my understanding. I thought the Sharps were actually
on the Bengals. But in terms of the most bet
teams tomorrow, in terms of the handle I show, the
Dolphins is being number one. What do you think of that? Oh? Yeah, Well,

(01:18:25):
the Sharps, you know how good they are with the
quick access to the to the live lines and to
all the different outlets out there. When they heard about
Daniel Jones being downgraded too doubtful, they pounced and they
made a lot of money, or at least a lot
of closing line value betting the Giants or rather the
Dolphins minus four now all the way up to six,
and you're right there, Sharps are on the Bengals. Joe

(01:18:46):
Burrow and the Bengals. They pushed this line from where
it was a week ago a point and a half
favorite about even teams with the visiting Chargers, to now
three point favorites, bumping up to three three and a
half in some spots. And if you, if I may,
I want to draw a little analogy because ahead when
I first tracked sports betting of any kind, it was
a two thousand twelve season, and the Washington football team

(01:19:09):
and the Seattle Seahawks both had rookie quarterbacks and they
both had the number one and number two A T
S records in the league. Both win eleven and five
that year made the playoffs. I think we have a
very similar two teams here with the Philadelphia Eagles, that rookie,
well second year running quarterback that is playing a college
system that the league hasn't caught up with yet. That's

(01:19:30):
a lot like Robert Griffin the third one eleven and
five his first year of starter A T S. And
then we have the Cincinnati Bengals. I'll bring that name
up one more time. Joe Burrow is the truth. There
was a lot of doubt coming into the summer, could
he come back from those massive A c L M
c L injuries. I think he's proven everybody wrong. A
sneaky m VP candidate. I know he's like fifty to

(01:19:52):
one right now, but I challenge you. You look at QBR,
you look at PFF, who's had a much better season
than the surprising Cincinnati Bengals, and to me, he reminds
me a little bit of the two thousand and twelve
best a T S record in the league. Rookie Russell
Wilson led that Seahawks team, and he hasn't disappointed well
until the last four weeks, for about a decade since.

(01:20:13):
I think you've gotta be for maybe the first time
in a generation, hopeful as a Cincinnati Bengals fan. Right now, Well,
I'll tell you who else I think. I agree with
all that. I tell you who else I think is
the truth, and that I'll take my bow now. Matt
Jones getting it done. New England's hop They've won six
straight games by an average score of thirty five to eleven,
and they happened to be the most bet game Monday

(01:20:37):
or this weekend according to ticket count. Patriots and Bills.
What are your thoughts on that game? I love the Patriots.
They were very early on my five game card for
the Super Contest, one that I didn't have to think
too much about one thing. The contest gives you three
lines two and a half in most places, and more
than that, I just trust Bill Belichick in a weather

(01:20:59):
game when thes are dicey, he knows how to make
the adjustments better than anybody else. Looking at snow flurries
in Buffalo on Monday night, I like the Patriots to
win outright. Alright, good stuff, mackenzie. That's making on sports.
Mckenzill be back in about an hour for the part
that people look forward to the most, and that has
to do with mackenzie giving one prop bet for each

(01:21:22):
betting window, the early games, the afternoon games, and then
the Sunday night standalone game. What's your record real quick
on that, mackenzie, like twelve and six, fourteen and six,
sixteen and five on this sports radio station. Alright, So
he's back in an hour for the prop bets coming up.
What kind of brand new fool are you? You do

(01:21:43):
not want to miss this? Keep it locked. This is
Bernie Frattle, Fox Sports Sunday, Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Sunday.
Train rolls on, keeps rolling right on. Too down. One
to go, man, we got a ton of stuff to
get to. We get to Chris perfets Hawker update later.
We've got another segment of backing on sports. We're gonna

(01:22:04):
talk about Tiger Woods and what he had to say,
and uh, we're just getting started man, and I want
to remind you real credit card questions require real people,
someone who understands your issues and works to resolve them
with you. That's why I Discover offers helpful US based
representatives available seven Discover exceptionally common sense. But first, the

(01:22:28):
new dance sensation that's sweeping the nation, we call it.
Don't miss this. What kind of brand new fool are you?
What kind of brand new fool are you? You know,
every day, every week, not just here in the United States,

(01:22:51):
but around the world, people do things that make you
scratch your heads that leave us with the only conclusion
we can come to, what kind of brand new fool you?
And what all the respect? I began with College Football
Committee Chair Gary Barna, who said earlier in the week
he said that Brian kelly departure from Notre Dame could

(01:23:12):
quote impact the Irish college football ranking. What you're gonna
put in jeopardy the lives and adversely effect a hundred
and twenty lives, including kickers, punters, coaches, players, assistants, not
to mention the entire institution that Notre Dame over a capricious,

(01:23:33):
arbitrary decision. Now, fortunately it's moot. I don't think Notre
Dame is getting in regardless, but but he actually said
it's quite possibly it wouldn't be a factor, but likely
that it will. What I can't Okay? How about back
in Mr Barta, when the Michigan Wolverines Bill Frieder basketball

(01:23:55):
coach took a job at Arizona State, A D. Bosham
Beckler was living, said I want to Michigan man coaching
my team. Steve Fisher took over as the interim coach.
Michigan won the national championship that year over Seaton Hall
nine and the rest is history. Now what if what
if they said, well, Michigan changed their coach, so that's
going to affect the fact they're not going to get

(01:24:16):
a bid to go to the Big Dance. Shame on you,
Mr Barda. All I got to say is what kind
of brand new fool are you? Christopher Fete? All right, Bernnie,
we're taking you to the sordid realm of YouTube here
for this one. It's been a weird week for YouTube,
especially the revelation of at least one streamer apparently doing

(01:24:38):
squid games. But for real, and if you don't know
what squid games is, uh, go check it out on Netflix,
I guess. But I'm going to take you to a
guy named Ludwig Oddgren. Now, this guy's newcomer to YouTube.
He was on another platform, Twitch, and he was he's
very famous for his sub athons, which is basically people
just giving him money for hours and hours on end. Anyway,
I don't understand it. But anyway, so he has recently

(01:25:01):
made a deal to abandon Twitch go to YouTube. It's
a big thing. Google puts in a lot of money
to get these guys to move over there. And he
was live streaming himself watching other YouTube videos thousand people
in the world, very big time, you know, counting down
the years the best YouTube videos, and the stream goes

(01:25:21):
dead because apparently he got taken down by YouTube. Why
did he get taken down by YouTube? Because he made
the mistake of streaming for just ten seconds a song
that any parent will know and cringe when they hear
the name baby Shark. That's right. He fell prey to
the algorithms and the copyrights that we all deal with

(01:25:45):
here in radio, in any kind of broadcast media. So
but you should probably have known that that watching other videos,
you're going to run into copyrighted material the Millennium Copyright Act.
I forget the actual name of it is no Joe.
What kind of fool are you? You will be taken
down ten seconds of baby Shark enough to ruin your day.

(01:26:06):
Chris Ludwig, what kind of brand new fool are you?
Brian Finley, You're up next, so Bernie. I was wondering
if you're going to touch on this when he discussed
Brian Kelly. But I'm sure you have seen this. We've
all seen this. It's been a viral thing out there.
Brian Kelly as he tries to indoctrinate himself into the
l s U fandom and become that beloved face that

(01:26:27):
he wants to be. He makes this speech at an
l s U football game. And mind you, this is
not somebody Bernie, who is from the South originally, and
he has been in Baton Rouge for I don't know
less than twenty four hours of anything since he took
the job and moved from Notre Dame in South ben
and all of a sudden, and you don't hear this

(01:26:50):
from any other interview when he's up in South Ben
as the Notre Dame finding Irish head coach. But he
bust out this southern accent and it was as cheesy
as it could be. It was contrived, It looked fake
and phony, and it made him, Bernie look like a
fool to a point that every major sports network is
showcasing him and what he did there, and it just

(01:27:13):
came off really weird, Bernie, And I think that for
me this week would designate as a fool in Brian Kelly. Yeah,
I'm with you, Brian, or Brian your brand too, sorry
step out with an eye. No, that's well. Listen, that
was very crunsworthy. And credit to Mike Harmon and Jason Smith.

(01:27:33):
Just minutes after he did that, they went to it
and everybody kind of pee backed off of that that
goofy accent and as we know, Brian Kelly Hills from Boston, Massachusetts. Man,
that that just went over like a fart in church.
That did not work at all. All right, let's go
to Bow Benson. Um okay, So last week on a
show kind of like this one, doing a segment much

(01:27:55):
like this, someone uh kind of made fun of ls
you fans on message boards claiming Lincoln Riley was going
to uh become the next head coach at Louisiana State University. Uh,
you know, after Lincoln Riley went to his press conference
and uh swiftly denied all those rumors. Um, and then
the person that did that was made to look like

(01:28:17):
a fool the next day when Lincoln Riley accepted the
USC job, leaving his school in the dust in Oklahoma.
So yeah, whoever that was, they very good. Yeah, that
really screwed that one up. And that is a cautionary
tale to the folks on message boards who want to
sound smart when they don't know what they're talking about.
As you would say, both, what kind of brand new

(01:28:38):
fool you? Is that fair? Yeah? I'll wear this one.
That was? That was me? That's on me. I I
think I did. Yeah, I think I think I was
stepping up like that. That That takes a lot of
coyotes bolt. You know, I didn't think. I. I just
completely forgot about USC when I when I decided to
make fun of those l s U fans and get

(01:29:01):
to wear some EG on my face. It's all good, bull,
it's all good. The other ones were fools, but you're
not the other one sucked. Might will to live yours.
We're gonna just pass off, which actually, as we conclude
another sensational, outstanding edition of what kind of brand new
fool are You, we segue nicely into the second dance

(01:29:21):
sensation that sweeping the nation, and we affectionately call it
what My Name? All Right? Here we go, folks. This
is one of those games whereby you have five seconds
to answer, and it has to do with somebody who
did something historically in the world of sports, and you
gotta tell me what my name? All right? You know,

(01:29:43):
when Brian Kelly resigned as the coach at Notre Dame,
he's only the second coach in ninety years to exit
Notre Dame having not either retired or been fired. I'm
the last one to do it, leave of my own
volition to take another job, and I did it back
in nineteen thirty three. What my Name? Chris Perffett? Wow?

(01:30:08):
Uh nude Rockney? I can't beig Well, Actually new Rockney
was before him, so that's a good guess. But this
gentleman was the last one to do it. I know.
This is a brutal, freaking question. All right, good, good,
good effort. Nineteen thirty three. I'm the last coach before
Brian Kelly to leave him my own volition without being
fired from Motor Dame or retiring. Brian Fenley, What my name, man, Burnie,

(01:30:32):
you're making me think way back in the annals of time?
Was it Abraham Lincoln? You know it might have been him.
I liked him. He was pretty cool like that, Beard.
I think he went on to be president. Didn't hear
something like that? Um, I'm sorry, good effort, All right, three,
I left Motor Dame of my own volition. I wasn't fired,

(01:30:54):
and I wasn't retiring. I went on to another job.
Since Brian Kelly, I'm the last coach to do that.
What my name boll Benson? Uh Dwight Eisenhower. I love
you guys. You guys are good, all right? Shame on me.
What kind of brand new fool of me? I'm not
gonna make these is tough because this is brutally stupid tough,
but it's it's actually relevant because it happened this week.

(01:31:16):
You guys. Remember, you'll be kicking yourself. It was a
legendary hunk Anderson, right right, all right, nicely done, Chris,
you know what that was? So well, let's do another
one back in a big day for Alabama to day,
but give it up. Two years ago on this state

(01:31:36):
number seven Alabama winning to beat number nine, number five
Florida in the SEC championship game, Uh thirty four to seven.
At that time, the Alabama coach was not Nick Saban.
It was what my name? Chris? What my name? Who's
the Alabama coach to win the SEC championship in over Florida? Christoper? Um? Oh? Man,

(01:32:03):
it wasn't Stallings, was it Dubos? Oh? Nicely done, mikeds
We're gonna allow it, alright, And it wasn't. It wasn't
early enough to be. It wasn't late enough to be. Uh,
Stallings was back in left in ninety six. Yeah, I think,
didn't you leave in nearly two thousands? Shula was eventually fired.

(01:32:26):
But but I'm saying Stallings I think was until ninety six.
I was going to say Forrest. I'm glad Chris got
it there. And then Mike Price was just after that,
wasn't he from Washington State? Alabama has had some rough
years in between a few plays between bear Byrne and
Uh and Nick Saban. It was a little ugly there,
although good, good, good, good call. Mike Dubos was a

(01:32:47):
good coach. All right, let's do one more because this
is not relevant. This involves a team, and I bet
you guys are gonna get this because now that Cincinnati
is the first non par five school to get to
the playoffs. Which is the last non Power five school
to win a national championship? What my name? Chris Perfett? Oh? Man?

(01:33:12):
I mean, did Miami count as Nonpower five back in
the day. No, But that's not a bad guess, uh,
because they're independent. There was a bunch of teams independent. Yeah,
it was not Miami. So let's move on. What's the
last school non par five school to win a national championship?
Brian Finley? What my name? Notre Dame? Uh? And that's yeah,

(01:33:37):
well there, I would consider them a Par five school
even though they're really not part of a conference. But
not a bad guess, okay, because that would be like
one of those technical things. But I kind of gotta
give him a Power five grade. And they are in
the A SEC for football. Now, all right, I'm the
last school to win a national championship and I'm not
from a Power of five conference? Bull Benson? What my name?

(01:33:58):
Kent State? Ernie Span You're like that one. All right,
you guys know this one, You guys will kick yourself
because it happened. Is recent, is night four, and it
was done in the Holiday Bowl beating bullshen Beckler's Michigan Wolverines.
It is, of course, brigham in On University. They won

(01:34:19):
the national championship. Excellent job, guys, All right, coming up.
Tiger Woods says he's lucky to be alive. He's lucky
to still have a leg after the crash. I'm kind
of optimistic actually think you'll play a tournament again, and
the professional ranks. You may not be full time on
the tour. We know that's probably out the window, but hey,

(01:34:41):
Ben Hogan did it. I think Tiger Woods can do it.
We'll bring in the crew to see what they think.
I'm Bernie Fraddle Company Alive from the Las Vegas Fox
Sports Radio Studios. Keep it locked right here, don't go away.
You're listening to Fox Sports Sunday and Fox Sports Radio.
We're back on Fox Sports Sunday, Fox Sports Radio and
Nie Freddo come to your life in the Las Vegas
Fox Sports Radio Studios. We're just seven hours and forty

(01:35:07):
minutes away from NFL kickoff. Six hours and forty minutes
away from the committee revealing the college football Playoff Final four.
Tire Woods said he's lucky to be alive. This past week,
he spoke out he was at Albany Golf Club the
set of the Hero World Challenge. It's an event he
hosts for his foundation. We all know Tiger was in

(01:35:28):
a hospital for three weeks after the terrible accident he
had back in February, and Uh he was concerned. He
was he almost He said he suffered significant injuries to
his right leg and foot, and he said it was
fifty fifty as to whether part of his leg might
end up being amputated, which conjures up the story from
the legendary Ben Hogan, who was in a terrible car

(01:35:50):
accident back in February, actually hit a Greyhound bus head on.
He dove across the street to the seat to protect
his wife Uh from going through the windshield. If he
had not done that, he would have been impaled by
this steering wheel and died. He spent fifty nine days
in a hospital and an all passle and a month
into his stay he almost died. Blood cloths formed in

(01:36:14):
his left leg and one got into his right lung.
They saved his life. They weren't sure if you'd ever
walk again. His left leg was mangalow and behold. A
few months later, ben Hogan resumed his duties as the
captain of the Ryder Cup team. Sixteen months later, amazingly,
ben Hogan won the US Open. In fact, he actually

(01:36:37):
won six more majors after that terrible accident. Now, back
in two thousand nine, I went on multiple radio shows
and and then when I was in Michigan in two
thousand eight, I talked about the fact there was no
doubt my mind Tiger would never catch Jack Nichols, and
he's not. Didn't say when win a major again. But
we got to a point and didn't look like that

(01:36:58):
would even happen. But he did the u inkable in
April nineteen. Can Tiger come back and play another p
G A sanctioned tournament? I believe he can, and I
hope he does because it would be quite a sight
to see. Let's bring in the crew, Chris Perfett, what
are your thoughts? Can Tiger Woods come back and play
again at least one p G A sanction tournament? I think,

(01:37:21):
obviously like he would get in on any kind of
tournament that he would want to go to. But I
feel like for me as a fan, I don't. I
think I think it's about time for Tiger. He's tried
coming back in a few times. I've seen him struggle
in there and even kind of get pretty far ahead.
And I think it was the Masters or another tournament.
But I think at this point where he is the

(01:37:42):
words that he has said like, I'm not too hopeful
at that. I think it's I think it's about time.
It time comes for everyone here, and I think it's
time for Tiger well and in good point and Tigers
actually he turns forty five, check that he turns forty
six month and and Ben Hogan was only thirty five

(01:38:03):
when he had his accidents those ten years. Or you
may well be right. I think it will come down,
like you said, to desire what and maybe the desire
is not there. Brian Fenley, Do you expect Tiger Woods
too to come back and play in a tournament again
in the you know, a p GA thanks and tournament. Oh? Absolutely,
it would be wonderful for golf. I've been a big

(01:38:23):
fan of his for so long. I love his story
and I love how he's really changed. I mean, Bernie,
you know that he was somebody who I feel like
for multiple things that have happened in his life, humility
has finally been part of who he is, and that
wasn't always part of who he is. But we've really
seen a more human, personable side of him, and ever

(01:38:46):
since some of these adversities have struck, I think that
he's made himself even more endearing to people because I
think at one point he thought that he was untouchable.
I think he would be wonderful for him to make
a cut at a major. I'm not afecting him to
win another major, but if he could make a cut,
just to do that, knowing how horrific the car crash

(01:39:08):
he went through and all the other complications because of
it in the surgeries, that to me is redemption and
come back. I know we all want him to hoist
another trophy. I'm not so sure about that, especially with
his age, but to make a cut, that would be amazing,
and that would be a wonderful story for golf. Right,
I got some things I want to add to that.

(01:39:30):
Boll Benson, do you think Tiger Woods will come back
and play another PGA sanctioned tournament. I think he probably will,
but I don't think he should if you actually like
watch the press conference. He it's just he talked about
how he almost died and you know, they asked if
he if if amputation was on the table, and he
was like, yeah, you know, my my it was on

(01:39:50):
the table, like he almost lost his leg. I just
it's probably time for him to hang it up. Um.
He's come back from injury before, but you know, this
is I I feel like it's different, and it just
seems kind of like that, Uh, he just needs to
let it go. I agree, this is far different. Uh.
And it's interesting because Tiger did post a video on

(01:40:13):
November one when he was on a driving range and
he put the put a caption on the video quote
making progress. And I think you guys kind of touch
on something, uh, in terms of gauging his desire. And
I even I questioned that a little bit too, because
he noted that has comeback when he had this spinal
fusion surgery four years ago, and that unable to come

(01:40:36):
back and win the Tour championship in the Masters, that
Tiger's admitted that makes it easier to accept his fate
right now, because he got that last major and even
got a couple more tournament wins along the way. He
knows the leg isn't gonna be what it used to be.
He can hit the ball as far, but I just

(01:40:58):
feel like somewhere along the line, ying the competitive juice
is going to uh, he's he's going to bubble to
the surface. And he's talked about Ben Hogan as well.
And by the way, ben Hogan, even after he recovered um,
he only ended up playing uh, you know, like eight

(01:41:18):
nine more tournaments a year every year. It wasn't like
he's playing twenty or thirty tournaments, even though he had
a lot of great success. But I think Tiger is
also hinted that although he's not tournament sharp, and he
may not be tournament sharp in a while, and he
hasn't played in tournaments, but if he practices correctly, and
he doesn't correctly, he says, I've come off surgeries before,

(01:41:41):
and he knows he's got the recipe. He just needs
to get to a point where he can feel comfortable
enough where he can do it again. So he leaves
the door open. So let me ask a second question.
Chris Perfett. We may have already answered this. Do you
want to see Tiger play another tournament? Or do we
run the risk of William Is trying to walk the
home plate for the Mets and not looking good doing it. No,

(01:42:04):
I I don't want to see him do one. I
know we have this myth of guys. We we believe
in these guys to do literally anything we have. We
we we look at these guys as heroes, and in
the American tradition, I feel like we expect heroes to
go out on top. And I mean, granted, I grew
up on the classics, and I understand what hubris is,

(01:42:25):
and I understand the fall that usually comes when you
get too old, be it Bayowolf for any of the Greeks.
I don't want to see Tiger going out there struggling
and falling on his face at this point, I I
think the best grace, the best dignity he can have
isn't going out there and winning one more for the
Gipper or whatever other sports analogy you want to make.
It's just accepting that this is where you are, preserve

(01:42:49):
the legend that you've made, and just you know, enjoy,
enjoy the rest of your life that you've got ahead
of you. I appreciate your candor there a lot, because
most of us are greedy, including me. I want to
see what it would look like if he got on
the tour and play it again. There's something about how
you you kind of wanted to see on an uptick,

(01:43:11):
but there's no guarantee, and heroes don't go out on top.
As a matter of fact, there's there's legions of guys
maybe we'll do this in a future show, who played
too long and they didn't look good doing it. So
I appreciate your canner there. Uh, it's and it may
end up being for his own good, But I'm one
of the greedy ones. I want to see him play

(01:43:32):
again real quickly. Brian Finley, Yes or no? Do you
want to see tire play again? Oh? Absolutely, I want
to see him play. And I don't think he's gonna
go at it until he's ready. So for anybody that
thinks he's gonna go out there and stink it up,
I think if that comes across his mind, he'll delay it. Bernie,
I think he'll do it. He'll just wait a little
bit longer. Fair enough, both, Benson, you got the last word,

(01:43:52):
do you want to see Tiger woods uh play again?
I No, Like guy said before, like he sounded so somber,
and I think it'd be better for all parties involved
to remember Tiger as he was winning that whatever was
he won, rather than trying to like he like. It's

(01:44:13):
like it'd be like watching Ben Roethlisberger play football this year,
Like no one wants to see that. That's just you
want the good memories, not the bad one. Good old,
good old Ben. Finally he's admitted this is gonna be
his last year. Alright, good stuff, guys. Coming up, Chris
Perfette brings us up to date with a very impressive

(01:44:35):
streak in the world of sports having to do with soccer,
and these kind of things don't come along every day. Crystal.
We'll bring us up to snuff on that. But first, hey,
you better lose yourself in the update. At the moment
you own it, you better never let it go. This
opportunity comes once in a lifetime. Feet fail me, not
just maybe the only opportunity I got tonight to hear

(01:44:56):
Brian Filly latest update, Thank you, Bernie. And as we
look at NFL players and the potential opportunity or lack
of opportunity of them playing when we consider the injuries
that are coming across here as we get ready for
a bustling, busy day of week thirteen action. According to
NFL Network, Texans running back David Johnson, he's working through

(01:45:18):
an illness and a thigh injury, is not expected to
go today against the Colts. There's also news about Raiders
running back Josh Jacobs and his teammate and wide receever
to Sean Jackson. Both of them are dealing with respective
ailments but are on track to play against Washington Rams
white out Odo Beckham Jr. Seemingly causing some concern with

(01:45:38):
a hip injury that slowed him down at practice this week,
but that doesn't seem to be hindering him from seeing
the field. And Chiefs ball carrier Clyde Edwards Hilaia recovering
from a non COVID illness should be a green light
to play the Broncos College Football Playoff. They're going to
announce the four teams and then the other bowl games

(01:45:59):
at the periphery. That all comes to the fold at
noon Eastern today. Number two Michigan making a serious case
for being in that final four after the plaster number
thirteen Iowa forty two to three four the rights to
the Big Ten Championship. Number fifteen Pittsburgh wins the a
C C crown after they fill at number sixteen Awake

(01:46:20):
four is twenty one and Panthers quarterback Kenny Pickett accounted
for three touchdowns. Number four Cincinnati stays perfect thirteen and
no after pasting number twenty one Houston thirty five to
twenty in Cincinnati for the a C title, where Bearcat's
quarterback Des Ritter had three touchdown tosses and he has

(01:46:41):
not lost a game at home over the course of
his career. Number three Alabama serves up an l two
number one Georgia forty one to twenty four to take
the SEC title, as BAMA quarterback Bryce Young accounted for
four touchdowns as he was slicing through that top ranked
Bulldog defense. Utah State has DIBs on the Mountain West

(01:47:05):
Championship after they dominate number nineteen San Diego State forty
six to thirteen, with USU quarterback Logan Bonner going for
four touchdowns three eighteen yards passing Number nine Baylor stiffing
number five Oklahoma's one to sixteen for the Big twelve crown,
and then three mentions from the NBA. The Clippers fall

(01:47:27):
on the road to the Kings one oh four, to
the Celtics blast the Trailblazers to one seventeen Dennis Shrewder
thirty one points. And then the Spurs, who are struggling
not so much against the Warriors. They played up to
the competition with a one twelve one oh seven victory
for San Antonio as they hand Golden State it's fourth

(01:47:50):
loss of the season. With that, let's bounce the basketball
back to the man in the key, the man owning
the paint in Las Vegas. It's Bernie Fratto. All right,
thanks for my Brian. Alright, at this time every week,
Chris per Fret regals this with this soccer knowledge, which
is vast. Tonight he's going to talk about an award
called the ballon Deor. It's awarded to the best player

(01:48:11):
every year in FIFA, basically the m v P. And
what is noteworthy, Uh, winning one of these is tough enough,
but being the m v P of soccer. The winner
one was announced this past week and this is an
individual who's won it and an unprecedented number of times, Chris,

(01:48:32):
that's right, Bernie, we're talking about the balond Or. It
is the m v P of soccer. It is awarded
by a magazine named France Football, endorsed by FIFA, comes
out every year. We didn't have one last year because
of the COVID nineteen pandemic, and I think, to the
surprise of no one, it has gone to Lionel Messi

(01:48:54):
now of Paris St. Germain, the Argentinean who you know
left for Paris and Germain and bombshell deal out of
Barcelona earlier this year. And if you know anything about
leon l mess you know that he's not only probably
the greatest player playing right now, possibly though of all time.
And the other one only close to him, Christiano Ronaldo.

(01:49:15):
And very interesting about these guys who have had a
iron grip between the two of them on the ballon
d'Or since for a very long time. So since two
thousand and eight, there's only been one Balondor has that
has not gone to either of those two. That was
to Luca Modrid for Real Madrid. But they've been running NonStop.

(01:49:35):
One's always finished second or third, the other has taken
home the award. It has been an unprecedented run for
both these guys. But Messi now holds seven Ballondeurs, Ronaldo
holds five. You have to go back to to another
man who has held multiple Ballonders. That was Marco van

(01:49:56):
Boston for and he's only had three. They're there's two
other players that have three balance, nobody has had seven.
Nobody's ever come close. It is a run of dominance
for Messy. That is just I don't think we're gonna
get anything close to this ever again. You are you?
We talked about greatest that you've ever seen with Tiger Woods.

(01:50:16):
You're watching it right now with Messy and it's just
unprecedented because Ronaldo is right there with him too. But
I feel like at seven this probably cements Messy above Ronaldo,
especially since I believe Messi is two years younger as well.
So since you started this filing these reports, Chris a
few months back, it's made me pay attention more. And

(01:50:39):
I'm glad you broached this topic tonight because my moles
are telling me that the backstory here that Robert Lewandowski
was snubbed and he won more trophies and scored more
goals for his club and country, and yet he lost
to Messi. Although I understand the case for Lewandowski was
strong from your advantage. For was Lewandowski snubbed? Uh I?

(01:51:03):
So I don't think he was, if only because he
is an English player, and in my perspective, it seems
that the English press stub for their players harder than
anyone else, and when their players lose, it is a
conspiracy against England and all the and all the world
is against them. However, Lewandowski was not far behind he
so so Messi won the Balandier by six hundred and

(01:51:29):
thirteen points. Lewandowski votes had excuse me votes, Lewandowski had
five eighty. He was only thirty. So Lewandowski was not
far behind at all. He he almost, oh, he almost
won this. He was just a little bit short. So yeah,
I could see the case for Lewandowski this year, and
I think that you could make the case he was
a little bit snubbed here and there was probably some

(01:51:51):
name recognition going to Messy, but Lewandowski is one of
the biggest players in the world too, And I believe
third place went to Georgino, who was an attack Alien
player who plays for an English Club Chelsea. So that
rounds out your top three. Lewandowski very well deserving, but
just a little bit short this time around. Bow I think,
well you want to jump in. Yeah, you know you

(01:52:13):
know who you know who got robbed? Right? Who's that
Mohammed Salah Mommed Sala who we talked about last week,
finished seven. You know, so you guys will you'll be
proud of I did my homework on this, Chris as
you as you mentioned France Football. They're the publication that's
been awarded the Balandi or for like the last sixty

(01:52:34):
five years. They actually came up with the new award
this year to honor the best striker in the world,
and they gave that to Robert Lewandowski. That feels like
a consolation prize and attack that he was that he
was snubbed. Yeah, a little bit there. They also just
came up with, I believe a couple of years ago,
the Yashon Award for the best goalkeeper. And I want
to at least recognize this man, John John Luigi Dona Ruma,

(01:52:58):
who plays for He was playing for Milan. He is
now with the Super team with Paris St. Germain. But
I don't think I've seen a year for a goalkeeper
in soccer that Donor Ruma had. He's very young, I
believe he's only twenty two. But he was there in
Euro the Euro Championship which we had here in one
because of COVID, Italy ended up taking the whole thing,

(01:53:21):
and a lot of that was on the hands and
back of Donor Ruma. You know he withstands England and
penalty and penalty shots to to end the game. Um,
he he won the tournament. I believe the player FIFA
award him like Player of the Tournament, which no goalkeeper
has ever gotten, for the Euro Championship, and very well

(01:53:44):
deserving of that. Yeah, of the Ashen Trophy there. So
yeah that those are the storylines out of the France
Football Awards. Lionel Messi takes his seventh, Lewin Dalski perhaps snubbed,
and Donor Ruma at a very young twenty two, probably
one of the hottest seasons I've ever seen for a
goalkeeper and soccer. Bo I'm gonna get the last word,
but do you have anything you want to add to that? No, no, no,

(01:54:06):
I just I just want the audience to know that
over here, well, here's what's interesting and and uh, I
would just like to say this as the last word,
because uh, and this is one of the biggest stories
I think you've done, Chris, whenever a player will speak
out who's critical of voting process, A former balland your winner,
guy by the name of loth math House. Am I

(01:54:27):
pronouncing that name right? I think? I think that's close
to it. Yeah, Okay, here's the bottom line. Do they
have a process and it's done by like a hundred
and seventy media members and you you know, first place
votes or six points and the second place votes or
four points in the whole right onund down the line.
But here's the criteria to use one individual and t
performance for the current season. Secondly, the player's talent and sportsmanship.

(01:54:51):
And third this is the part that this makes sense
to me, the player's overall career. And so that's how
I think that Lewin Sandowski is edged out by messiy
in the In the third category, they kind of take
your whole career into um into into consideration. But boy
Lewandowski is he's like gretzky Man. When you scored that

(01:55:13):
many goals in soccer, that's like scoring hunter goals in
hockey we're gonna I think. I think the one thing again,
also to Messi's credit, is that he is the captain
of Argentina. They won the Copa America, which is the
tournament for South America, and like he's kind of regarded
as the as the player who puts that entire country
on his back. I think that gives him a little
bit of credit. I know Lewandowski scores a ton, but

(01:55:36):
he's also part of an English team that is just
loaded with talent and could be one of the heavyweights
going into the next World's Cup. Alright, good stuff in
the more controversy. We can find the better when you've
got opinions coming from all around. Speaking of opinions coming up,
you know what I mean. Love and candle without him,
we bring him back. Backing on Sports, Mackenzie Rivers, get
your pens and pencils ready. He gave you some winners.

(01:55:57):
He's twenty one in five on op bets. He'll give
you a prop bet for the morning game, the afternoon game,
in the evening game. So keep it locked on. Bernie Fratto,
this is Fox Sports Sunday on Fox Sports Radio. We're
back on Fox Sports Sunday. Fox Sports Radio on Bernie
Fratto Company Alive from the Fox Sports Radio students here

(01:56:20):
in Las Vegas. And I gotta tell you before I
go any further, I want to thank my broadcast team
back in Los Angeles, Christopher feed, Brian family on the updates.
And of course Bill Benson could not do this show
without you guys, keeping us glue together, turning all the dials. Um,
Big day today, Big day six hours in twelve minutes,

(01:56:41):
they will announce the final four for the college football
playoff playoffs start New Year's Eve. Fairly any climactic now,
but still, let's get an official, Let's get on the book,
let's get the line set, let the games begin. I
believe Alabama will be a fourteen point favorite over Cincinnati.
Georgia will be a nine point favorite over Michigan Bama one,
Michigan to Georgia three and Cincinnati four. But we shall

(01:57:06):
see it. And then, of course seven hours and twelve
minutes until NFL Kickoff Week thirteen resumes. All right, you
know what we love and Candley, without him, we go
back out to We bring you back out to Las Vegas.
Mackenzie rivers with Mackin on Sports and it's at time
where people can take notes, and Mackenzie, you've got three

(01:57:28):
prop plays for tomorrow, conveniently, one for each time. Will
each your kickoff time? Right? Exact? Bumble that out? Could
I have done that in any more clunky fashion? Probably not, Mackenzie,
take it away. Yes, sir, you're gonna double your money,
and then you're gonna double your money, and then you're
gonna double your money one more time. Keep your man

(01:57:50):
close to the phone, because you're gonna want to take
advantage of these three props conveniently proportioned throughout the day
on a beautiful December Sunday betting NFL Sunday. So first
we're gonna go to Chicago, where they're hosting the Arizona
Cardinals and Dalton's main man. The market is not adjusted.
Darryl Mooney has exploded for eighty four yards per game

(01:58:14):
when Andy Dalton is the starter. For whatever reason, he
connects with him more than any other Bears receiver. Even
in a fifth game where Dalton came off the bench,
Mooney flew well over this number. As soon as Dalton
gotten in the game, he got a fifty plus yard touchdown. Yes,
the Cardinals have a top five passing defense. So maybe
you tick down his averages with Dalton. Still, his year

(01:58:38):
to date averages pale in comparison to when he Andy
Dalton's on the court field, he's gonna go over sixty
and a half receiving yards. The market hasn't adjusted enough.
Now it's a double your money one more time. Let's
go to the four o'clock window, huge rivalry game. The game.
If there was a Michigan Ohio state rivalry game, it
would be this game. Pittsburgh Steelers hosting the Baltimore Ravens,

(01:58:59):
and the Baltimore Ravens have probably a matchup advantage that
they're not used to having against a usually vaunted Steelers defense.
The Steelers have been terrible against what the Ravens do best,
running the football. Since Week nine, Bernie, the Steelers have
allowed a hundred eighty one rushing yards per contests that
is by far the worst in the league, in fact,

(01:59:21):
the second worst. The New York Jets are thirty yards
better than them per game. So how do we take
advantage of this? There's a lot of different ways. Lamar
Jackson's probably a little over priced, you know, people like
to bet his overs Davante Freeman has been doing okay,
but his numbers a little bit over than his year
to date average. How about the backup running Latavious Murray

(01:59:42):
over seven and a half rushing attempts. He's going over
this number in six of eight games. He's battled back
from a recent angle injury, but still has gone over
in each of his last three games. T J. Watt
is on the COVID list. The Steelers have been decimated
on defense and they're allowing teams to run like they're
the l A Chargers on them. So I'm gonna go
with Murray over seven a half rush attempts. I know
what you're saying, Bernie. Two overs in a row. That's

(02:00:03):
not like you. Well, the best bet of the evening
is one of my patented QB unders. Patrick Mahomes has
not had more than two and a half passing touchdowns
and but one of his last seven games, and now
he's going against his kryptonite, the guy that wrote the
blueprint in Vic Fangio with his shell defense that Mahomes

(02:00:25):
has had so much problems with. In five games against
the Broncos with Fangio as head coach, he only has
five passing touchdowns combined, We're gonna go under two and
a half. People like to bet overs on Sunday Night football,
but it's not even close to the right number here.
I'm gonna go under Patrick Mahomes two and a half
passing touchdowns. What do you think, Bernie Fredo? Well, I'm

(02:00:48):
gonna ride your coattails and we'll see what happens. But
real quickly, we just got about a minute left. I
talked about this earlier in the show. McKenzie. This is
maybe we should dive into in future weeks. And that's
the fact that a home field advantage in NFL has
gone the way at the Dodo Bird four. If you
lean down favorites it the Chiefs are a favorite. Tomorrow.

(02:01:08):
You had a chance to look into this phenomenon. We
just got about forty five seconds. Yes, sir, I've thought
about this, not only football, but basketball and even baseball
as well. How quickly do we re evaluate the twenty
year trend that we've seen in a lot of different sports.
Traveling just doesn't matter. The home fans, maybe because they

(02:01:29):
have masks on, aren't quite as raucous. Raucous says it
used to be. It seems to me. In today's sports
betting environment, it's road team or pass. Yeah, this is
something I think we need to take a look at
mackenzie in uh in future weeks. Uh. If you just
bet home teams just in general, whether there pick them,

(02:01:50):
whether they're a dog, whether they're a favorite, you're only
cashing of the time, and you know the reasons they
are better communication, better equipment, travel, all kinds of things,
as more sophisticated offenses. Uh, that kind of stuff. But
this is something we'll get to in the future. Good stuff, McKenzie.
McKenzie joined us every week at this time for his

(02:02:11):
best bets for props. Currently one in five, Big day.
In just a few hours, you're gonna know the college
football Final four. We'll have another rousing week thirteen NFL.
These are all playoffs games now. Man, they always remember
what you did in December. All right, I'm Bernie Frattle.

Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage

Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage

Rewarded for bravery that goes above and beyond the call of duty, the Medal of Honor is the United States’ top military decoration. The stories we tell are about the heroes who have distinguished themselves by acts of heroism and courage that have saved lives. From Judith Resnik, the second woman in space, to Daniel Daly, one of only 19 people to have received the Medal of Honor twice, these are stories about those who have done the improbable and unexpected, who have sacrificed something in the name of something much bigger than themselves. Every Wednesday on Medal of Honor, uncover what their experiences tell us about the nature of sacrifice, why people put their lives in danger for others, and what happens after you’ve become a hero. Special thanks to series creator Dan McGinn, to the Congressional Medal of Honor Society and Adam Plumpton. Medal of Honor begins on May 28.
