Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports. Do not do not, I repeat,
do not touch that dial. You heard the man. It's
time for Fox Sports Sunday and the two Sports calendar
is off to a rousing start. And on that note,
put your seatbacks forward, your trade tables upright. We are

(00:22):
ready for takeoff. My name is Bernie Frado Company live
from Las Vegas. Fox Sports Radio Studios will take you
up to three am Pacific six am Eastern, along with
my savvy and capable crew, Bill Benson, Chris Perfett and
Brian Finley on the updates as they manned the ship
from our Los Angeles compound, turning all the dials, keeping

(00:43):
us glue together. We have got a ton on the
agenda tonight, including full NFL analysis for the first ever
NFL Super wild Card weekend. I will, you know, quickly
review the games that were play today. We'll talk about
the triple header tomorrow. I'll check that later today and Monday,

(01:05):
and then Steve has will be joining us in about
fifteen minutes. I'm also going to give a report on
the expanded college football playoff system that's been proposed in
the update and why the hell it hasn't been agreed
upon and what's taking them. Meanwhile, I will have more
stuff on Jim Harball later in the show. And there
was a landmark higher in Major League Baseball, actually in

(01:26):
the minor league, but it's a landmark higher and I
think it's pretty cool. We're gonna talk about that later. Also,
I want to take a bit of an in depth
look on the hiring NFL interim coaches, and I'm gonna
go back twenty years and give you a bit of
a walk down memory lane. How in an you know
interim coaches have done whenn't they've been given the gig
full time. We've got that much much more, including what

(01:47):
kind of brand new fool are you in the final Hour?
And what my name? A couple of fun bits we do,
as well as Chris Perfect's report on the world of soccer.
But first I want to take a quick look at
the what I What Final was a fairly sophisticated computer
model that actually projects which teams have the best chance

(02:07):
of getting the Super Bowl on a percentage basis. I'm
gonna start. I'm gonna start with the a f C. Now,
obviously the paths were eliminated today in case you're wondering
this computer model gave them a nine point two percent
chance of getting the Super Bowl. Sorry, uh, you're you
go home, You get nothing and like a jug smails.

(02:28):
But I thought the Patriots had a very respectable year,
as did the Raiders, right who had a seven point
three percent chance of getting the Super Bowl. And uh,
obviously that's not going to happen. La Law again get
the home version of the show on the way out.

(02:48):
Thanks for participating. But tip of the cap to both
of those teams. I don't know how many folks back
in August had either of them getting the playoffs, but
they did it. But let's look at the teams that
are for real in the a f C. Kansas City,
according to this model, has a twenty seven point one
percent chance of getting to the super Bowl. Well, you know,

(03:10):
if not for a couple of crucial penalties to give
the Bengals the first down back in week seventeen, the
Chiefs are they'd be riding a ten game winning streak
getting into the playoffs. This is the first time, Patrick Mahomes,
we'll have to play a game during wild Card weekend.
If they win, they will have to go on the road.
But uh, They're still big favorites in the a f

(03:32):
C according to this computer model. However, I have you
heard me earlier, I do not have the Chiefs game
of the Super Bowl. The model has a Tennessee Titans
twenty five point six percent chance of getting the Super Bowl.
I like the Titans. They secured the number one seed
in the f C. Last week. They had an easy
win over the Texans. I know it got a little
goofy in the second half, and they don't ask Kyle

(03:54):
just how many And the great Nolan Ryan once said,
the mark of a of an outstanding pitch years that
you beat the team and you don't have your best stuff.
Maybe the Titans and that their best stuff. But I'm
not a sold on the Times. But I'm about nine,
so I think they're They're They're a far more formidable
number one seed than people will give them credit for.

(04:15):
But they're gonna get Derrick Henry back in the divisional
round and if his return will I believe it will
help make their passing offense a little bit more, uh
you know successful. Let me tell you this team can
make a deep, deep run. The only team I think
that has in their DNA to go into Tennessee and
beat them. It won't be Cincinnati next week, don't see it.

(04:36):
It could be Kansas City, Kansasy is gonna be Buffalo
next week. The Bills, by the way, this computer model
hasn't bet about a thirteen percent chance of getting to
the Super Bowl. Bills look great tonight. Here's an instance
where seedings and matchups kind of hurt your playoff odds
because the Bills are are really closer to a team
in rating to the Chiefs and the Titans. But because

(04:57):
the Bills, you know, they had to get buy a
sal Patriots team tonight. And by the way, these odds
were created before the playoffs started. They didn't have a
buy and and you know any of those things that
hurt their odds. So now they got to go on
the road and beat Kansas City. In Kansas City, that's
not going to be so easy. The Bengals are right
behind they According to this model, they were at eleven
point five percent chance. Uh Burrow got to rest in

(05:20):
Week eighteen. The Bengals did what they needed to do today.
I can't say they were oppressive, but they did what
they needed to do when they needed to do it.
I mentioned the Pats, they were nine point two percent.
Look they don't have any outside of weapons. Uh, Matt,
Matt Jones, you'll play a little bit, little bit more
like a rookie down the stretch. And the Raiders, as
I already already mentioned, seven point three percent. Look, I'm

(05:42):
not sure how this Raider team made the playoffs, but
they did it. They in all their turmoil, and I'm
gonna get to that in a bottle an hour. Interim
coaches and talk a little about Rich Posaccia. Tip tip
of the cap to the guy. People underestimate what he did. Steelers,
you're bringing up the rear five point eight percent chance.
Phenomenal job by Mike Tom to get the team this far.
But you've got to be very dubious about their chances,

(06:05):
and they gotta you know, Kansas City is lying in wait.
Let's go to the NFC. We start with the obvious choice,
the Green Bay Packers. This model has them at thirty
one chance to win the NFC. Look, they're coming off
a loss to the Lions because they had a bunch
of starters and only played a few series. But the
Packers arrested. Who's gonna come in in the divisional round

(06:28):
and infringid lambo and beat this team. I I the
only team I think they could do it are the
Tom Brady led Buccaneers, who are twenty six point eight
percent chance to get the Super Bowl. The problem is
the Bucks like the Chiefs um although they benefit a
ton from what I consider to be a fairly easy
first round matchup, but they play the Eagles, uh, and

(06:50):
the Bucks are not only a much better team, but
they always match up very well against the team. He
loves and run the ball, which I've said ten times
to that already, and in in the Eagles offense loves
to on the ball. I don't like the fact that
they lost Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown. They need weapons
and last year one of the reasons the the the
the Box were able to go into Green Bay and

(07:13):
when is because they had their weapons and they were healthier.
But anytime you've got Tom Brady, you're always gonna have
a chance. The defense is way better than average. And yeah,
they are defending Super Bowl champions. You gotta knock out
the champ. Now here's where it gets very interesting. In
this computer model, it's actually got the San Francisco forty
Niners with the third best probability nine point four eight
percent to get to the Super Bowl. This seems in

(07:36):
middlely a little high because the Niners have a wide
range of outcomes and you just never know what Niners
team you're gonna get. They can look like Super Bowl
champions one week and follow that up with a bottom,
you know, bottom of the barrel performance the next week.
Jimmy Garoppolo performed fabulous last week in a playoff clinching
victory against the Rams when it needed it most. They're
gonna need him to be at his best friend out

(07:58):
of the gate when they travel to Dallas Sunday afternoon,
and what's going to be a very fun game to
watch now right behind them, according to the computer model
on Los Angeles Rams, who have a nine percent chance.
The Rams, they're very much like their division forty Niners.
They have a wide range of outcomes. Matt Stafford has
been very up and down this season. He had seventeen interceptions,

(08:20):
the same as uh as Trevor Lawrence. I saw him
in Detroit. You know where I stand on Matt Stafford.
They brought him in to win a super Bowl, not
to get there, not to win a playoff game. To
win a Super Bowl. That's why Stan Cronkie brought him in.
They'll either do it or they won't. I'm sure Sean
mcveil have a very good offensive game plan. The defense

(08:40):
has Jalen Ramsey and Aaron Donald the Rams. They're gonna
be a tough out. But you know, if Stafford did
what he did against Minnesota and Tennessee and in Baltimore
down the stretch and then even against the forty Niners.
He got away with those things against teams under five hundred,
but he didn't get away with him against the forty
Niners in Tennessee. This is where it gets very dicey.

(09:02):
Al Right. The Cowboys also at nine. The NFC is
really bunched up. Um, Dallas is like again like San Francisco.
I don't I don't mean to be a broken record here,
but they have offensive inconsistency and that can be a
cause for concern. Uh. The NFC is loaded with teams

(09:22):
who can win the Super Bowl, So it's gonna be
who puts it all together too, can win a couple
to three games in a row. On the face of it,
potentially when they really get it going. No team is
scarier than Dallas, and if Dak Prescott and the weapons
he has in that offense can maintain their consistency, their

(09:44):
defense is good enough when you've got guys like Mike
Michael Parsons and Trayvon Diggs. Uh, you know, holding holding
court as it were really gonna be a fun game
to watch the Niners in Dallas. Niners of all of
a sudden become this trendy pick a week ago. Now
they weren't even in the playoffs, and then they were
down seventeen nothing in the Rams and everybody's got the game. Well,

(10:06):
all they gotta do is show up and you know,
roll up their socks and win. I'm not seeing it
that way. Uh, gun to my head, and this is
not a game. I bet I like the under by
the way, a fifty one to think San Francisco be
very deliberate in their run attack, run first attack. But
gun to my head, I would probably like Dallas to win.
But I haven't fired on the game, all right. Final
two teams bringing up the rear, believe it or not,

(10:27):
the Arizona Cardinals eight point seventh to get to the
Super Bowl. If they make that run, I'm pretty confident
it'll be Carler Murray doing magic and putting together maybe
one of the most electric playoff appearances of all time,
maybe like Michael victed twenty years ago. This team goes
as he goes, and if he's on, this is this

(10:49):
offense is a ton to watch. But you know, Murray
was banged up in the middle of the season, and frankly,
Arizona struggled to find a rhythm since then. They had
a you know, a disappointing loss of the Seahawks and
the regularity and finale that cost them the division crown
because the Rams had already lost. But the Cardinals are
plenty dangerous, and you know they're eight and one on
the road against the number. And the Rams are not

(11:10):
good against playoff teams this year too, and five against
playoff teams. With their twelve wins, only three were against
teams who finished above five hundred, So that game is
a flip of the coin. Monday Night, finally, the Eagles
bringing up the rear. According to this computer model, only
five point three percent chance of getting the Super Bowl.
I think the Eagles have a very brutal first round

(11:30):
matchup against the Bucks, so any potential run, frankly has
very little odds are happening, even just to even win
the game against Tampa Bay. The Eagles have not beaten
a team with the winning record so far this season,
and they're owing six against playoff teams. Somehow they managed
to make the playoffs. Give him credit, Serianity did a
good job. I have immense amount of respect for Jalen Hurts.

(11:52):
He's a skillful player. Uh he can do some magical things.
And the Eagles are strong in the trenches. But they're
gonna have to play a way above their head just
to beat Tampa Bay tomorrow. And there are run first team,
there an r PO team. Jalen Hurts himself rand for
seven or eighty four yards this year, so without the
ability to run, which Tampa Bay I believe takes away

(12:13):
their sixth against the run. I also think they're going
to pressure Hurts on a way and conceal him in
a way that's not going to give him free rein
to get out there on the second level, which means
he's gonna have to operate from the pocket, which means
he's gonna have to beat Tampa Bay with his arm
if he beats him at all. He's not experienced enough
to do that, and I'm not sure he's a major

(12:34):
league passer quarterback that can manipulate an offense down the
field through the air. He's a balanced guy, and they
run first, and they're dangerous when they run. Tampa Bay
gobbles up running teams. All right, Coming up, we're gonna
go in depth with Steve Pasik and the Physic five.

it looks like, as I mentioned earlier, Cincinnati will be

(13:18):
heading to Tennessee and as long as Kansas City beats Pittsburgh,
Buffalo will be going into Pittsburgh and will pre preview
those potential matchups as well. I'm burning Frattle company line

You're about to drink through a fire hose when it
comes to a fountain of NFL Knowledge in a weekly

it's the physic five. These are the five things you
need to here about. No, when the only backed him
back Hilton Super Contest winner Steve Fessing, Here's Bernie Fratto,

(15:10):
okay fest it is wild Card Super wild Card Weekend.
Two games were played today. By the way, eight of
the top ten defenses managed to ment their way into
the playoffs. Now, I want to look back before we
look forward and get your take and take away on
a couple of games Cincinnati, depending on where you got them,
minus six and a half, minus five and a half

(15:31):
they covered versus the Raiders. Raiders were a team that
finished the year with a minus sixty five point differential
this season, yet they had the ball near the end
zone with a chance to win the game or tie
the game at the end. What's your takeaway at Cincinnati
Advances was not impressed with the Bengals that they were
life and death to get the win. Here with the
Raiders in the red zone end of the game, Raiders

(15:54):
one for five in the red zone for the game,
Raiders one yardage by eighty yards. But the minus two
turnovers did them in. Ultimately, UM, I don't think the
Bengals are a team we want to be investing on
going forward in these playoffs. Looks like they're going to
head to Tennessee unless somehow Pittsburgh upsets Kansas City. What
would you make that line next week? Cincinnati heading into Tennessee.

(16:18):
No fan of Tennessee either, But I'll make the Titans three.
I'm pretty commented, but the number will come. Okay, I
I made it four, but well, let's see what happens
before I move on. I want to get your take
because I want to have, you know, conversations that enlightened
folks and sort of uh, you know, talk about some

(16:38):
of the things above and beyond the game itself. I'm
very bothered by the way Walt Anderson, the senior VP
of NFL officials, chimed in and handled the situation today
where the inadvertent whistle was blown as Joe Burrow was
completing a touchdown pass fast. The rule is clear, Uh,
if there's an inadvertent or erroneous whistle and time during

(17:00):
the play, the play is dead. As if it didn't
didn't happen, and the referees got their heads together made
a rock pile and come up with this narrative that says, well,
the acts and whistle was actually blown after he caught
the ball, which is not true anybody who had eyes
and ears. I'd like to just get your take from
a generic standpoint on that whole scenario. You know, it's

(17:22):
a tough one because by the letter of the rules,
and you gotta go by the rules, you gotta replay
the play. Then again, from what I observed, by the
time the whistle got blown, it was going to be
a touchdown regardless in all um not for certain, but
in all likelihood. So you gotta follow the rules. Thought,
they gotta replay the play, right, and that's bothers him.

(17:44):
How do they not do that? How do they not
know that this is very dangerous and bothers him from
the standpoint of it's a rule, that's that's not really
that vague to me. And I you know, Fays, you
know you've been doing this a long time. Can you
say that in your life you've had you've lost a
bet because of erroneous officiating dozens of times. So, and

(18:11):
what's been the narrative in the National football in the
last couple of years. Fortunately, we haven't had a tawning
call in a while. They've sort of cleaned that up.
But this is just an exclamation point on what I
believe has been an ongoing situation having to do with
the fact that officiating is very inconsistent in national football.
You get the final word, it's difficult to do the officiating.

(18:33):
You know what, what's interesting is how we never had
this uproar fifteen years ago, and we see all of
these calls being made wrong. Bernie, didn't it seem like,
I don't know, it didn't seem like there were this
many miscalls previously, but probably you know, a big part
of this is that with the emphasis on the passing game,
the runs are a lot easier to not have controversy

(18:55):
versus the passing and is it a catch? Is it
not a catch? And because of at the instant replay,
there's a whole lot of players that could go either way,
I think, right, And I think part of the scrutiny
now is the fact that TV coverage is more rampant. Referees,
umpires are afraid of officials are afraid of making a
mistake into scrutiny, and you know what's the old saying

(19:18):
the slower you move your feet, the more you think,
the slower your feet move. And then you've got social media,
so I think it all adds up to referees. I
feel like they got a gun to their head and
they're afraid of making the wrong call, so therefore they're
not sharp as they used to be. All Right, you
got a game played today. Look Buffalo heading into that game,
number one in the NFL plus one nine point differential.

(19:40):
He went out and proved it. Mac Jones, who have
been behind all year. And then you weapons and look
rookies making the first ever playoffs start six and seventeen
against the number that's not six and eighteen. What's your
takeaway and the Bills moving forward? I think there's one
factor that dominated and it was the weather. And I
get it. Both the of these teams are in the

(20:01):
North and they're used to play in cold weather. But
the bottom line is New England had to play in
the seventies in Miami the week before, and that delta,
that temperature differential of having to play in heat humidity
of Florida and wheel right back the following week into
five degrees, you're so up against it. Think about if
you had to run a marathon and you get to

(20:22):
run a marathon in Miami and the next week you
had to run a marathon in Buffalo, you think you'd
do as well as if you get to run a
marathon the week, say, in Cleveland, and then in Buffalo.
Of course not, because it's so drastically different. You know,
this goes all the way back to the ice ball
in the a f C title game, where where the
Bengals beach the and I get it, they're from San Diego,

(20:46):
America's find the city. But the bottom line is they
too had that game in Miami and they had nothing
left in the tank after it. It's an interesting conversation,
point says, And before we get to your three plays,
are want to get your thoughts on Buffalo moving forward,
it appears again barring something odd, I mean, what what

(21:08):
percentage chance you give Kansas City losing? Check that Pittsburgh
winning out right tomorrow? Give him a seven percent chance?
What percent chance for you give him? I'll give him ten? Okay,
fair enough. So the likelihood is Pittsburgh's not gonna win.
Let's assume for purposes of this conversation that Kansas City
hosts Buffalo next week? What do you make the line

(21:30):
and what do your key take or your key points
as we look into that game, make it two point
seven five. If it was two and a half, I
think I'd looked to Kansas City. If it was three,
I think it'd be an instant bet on Buffalo. Can
you see Buffalo going in there and winning? Out right? Sure,
they've got win about of the time, maybe forty four.

(21:51):
Here's what concerns me for Buffalo fans. And we both
know that Buffalo has the firepower to win that game. Clearly.
There's a psychodynamic though about the mystique that the Chiefs have,
particularly in our ahead Stadium's Buffalo Ready fest. Do they
have it in their DNA to go on the road
and close Kansas City out knowing that if they're leading

(22:14):
by seven and the fourth quarter, they could be looking
over their shoulder? Oh? Absolutely, you know, Josh Allen has
the swagger. Um you know, it's almost like the Bowls
with Jordan that took him a little while to get
enough playoff experience in the moxie to be ready. I
certainly think that they're ready, but Kansas City obviously is
extremely capable as well. All right, good stuff as and

(22:37):
I would say this the Bills. Uh, it's all about
who's hot. They had won four or a coming into
the Night's game, averaging seven points per game. And uh, now,
I mean they put up what they put up tonight fifty.
I don't know what the hell did you think they
I think they just scored again while we're having this conversation.
So I agree with you, all right, Coming up, Fast
is going to talk about the angle he likes in

(22:58):
the Kansas City Pit game him. He's gonna talk about
the Philadelphia Tampa Bay game and certainly the San Francisco
Dallas game, and we won't let him go without talking
about the Money Night game. But first, well, let's go
to the man who always reminds us that Don King
is living proof of what happens when you mix rogain
in viagra. It's brewing fit. Brian frithing with the ladies.

(23:20):
Thank you so much, Bernie. And we're gonna get to
the NFL in a moment. But this new is coming
down just a couple of moments ago. Tennis world number
one Novak Djokovic is not going to be able to
take part in this upcoming Australian open this because three
judges with the Australian Federal Corp have rescinded the Djokovic's
appeal for a visa, which was canceled due in part

(23:43):
to the country deeming him a health threat since he
did not get the COVID JAB. In the NFL, the
Bills devour the Patriots fort seven and seventeen in a
f a f C wildcard action. Josh Allen had five
touchdown tosses and his team no on no turnovers, and
they scored touchdowns on seven consecutive drives. The Bengals with

(24:07):
stand the Raiders six to nineteen, since he gets its
first playoff wins. Since n Vegas quarterback Derek Carr was
picked off at the goal line at the end of
the game, he decided to spike the ball, so he
lost it down and then was up against it with
his team falling just short. And since he kicker Evan McPherson,
the rookie went four for four with field goals and

(24:31):
since he did score two touchdowns and five red zone trips,
Las Vegas scored a one touchdown in five red zone trips.
As far as the NBA landscape looking on hits throwing
down twenty three points to propel the Mavericks over the
Magic one away to ninety two. Nicole Yokich a triple
double as the Nuggets club the Lakers one thirty three

(24:52):
to ninety six as l A drops a game under
five hundred. A win for the Celtics over the Bulls
one fourteen to one to elv As. Now Chicago has
lost three in a row and their star in Zach
Levine missed this game as he's dealing with an injury
to his left leg. Also something to mention. The Calvs

(25:14):
take down the Thunder one oh seven till one oh
to Darius Garland twenty seven points. He thrilled, and Kevin
Durant is going to get an m r I later
today on his left nee. He considers it a spring.
He came out of the Nets Pelicans game on Saturday,
but Brooklyn did win one to one oh five over
the Pells. Bernie, as I sent it back to you, well,

(25:35):
no more on that m R I from Kevin Durant.
As that becomes probably I would think that they're going
to really release that on Sunday morning, So in a
couple of hours here as I send it back to you.
All right, thanks, Brian, appreciate it. All right, let's get
back to the physic five. We'll get right into the meat.
We're just hours away. Kansas City posting the Pittsburgh Steelers fast.

(25:58):
You have an angle on the scheme, you like that,
you believe will be a winner. The Steelers have struggled
in the first half throughout the year. They are a very,
very far below average team in the first half. They're
actually pretty good in the second half. We saw him
with some nice comebacks against teams including the Chargers. Kansas
City's solid in the first half, outsco their phones by

(26:20):
seven first half, only by three in the second half.
So Kansas City's better in the first half and Pittsburgh's
better in the second half. Casey, first half is the
way to go. Now it's getting late. You can still
lay seven months and dollar twenty at a few shops
those numbers. The seven won't be there tomorrow. Lay the
seven now pay the extra big um. It's worth at

(26:42):
least twenty cents to get on or off the seven.
So don't lay seven and a half, Lay seven Kansas
City months one first half bottom line, and you've been
great at this. You believe the seven will become seven
and a half at some point before kickoff. Oh, I
think you'll get become eight. I think that the late
it's the late Sunday night game, and the public will

(27:04):
absolutely embrace betting the piece any which way, and the
pros aren't gonna want any part of Pittsburgh. Firth half says,
by the way, does that imply and it's twelve and
a half? Now do you believe he gets back to
thirteen for the game? Line? No, because the power ratings
I only make it eleven, and lines in the NFL
tend to move towards my numbers. So if anything, I

(27:25):
think it will drop down to eleven and a half
twelve before kickoff. So you wouldn't surprise you. If that
backdoor stays open, then it would not surprise me at all.
Big Ben has actually been rather resilience in fourth quarters.
We have went down double digits. Absolutely. All right, let's
take a look at the Philly Tampa Bay game, which
Frez I think is a mismatch. I really believe Philly
will have an grad inability to run the ball, which

(27:47):
is your bread and butter. I think you're gonna see
a focused Tampa Bay team, and this is the one game.
I mean, you don't like delay eight and a half,
but I feel like Tampa Bay handle hangs that number
your thoughts on the game. I would have agreed with
you completely on Tuesday. Now I'm going to disagree. And
here's why. A couple of major factors. Number one, the weather.
The weather greatly benefits the Eagles. We're gonna get thundershowers

(28:11):
in the morning, the thoughts in the field, and then
we're gonna get twenty mile winds. Not gonna impact the
Eagles nearly as much because all they do is run.
Is going to impact Tampa Bay. Is going to impact
Brady with his new receivers. Remember he's juggling his receiving corps.
He hasn't had that many reps with those players well,
and playoff Lenny four nets he has a great mutter

(28:31):
to run in bad field conditions. He's not playing for
Tampa's down as the third string running back. I think
the Eagles go ahead and cover this game, and I
like the under. Actually would make the under my best pet.
Interesting Eagles and six straight up this year against playoff teams,
and they've gotten on the field with playoff teams and
h Brady six and one. I know they played earlier

(28:54):
in the year and in the box won by six.
Rady six and one against him number when he plays
a team in the playoffs had already beat during the
inder season. Okay, let's get to the trendy pick of
the week. San Francisco heads to Dallas. If that's a
week ago now, you weren't even in the playoffs. Now
they're catching three. A lot of folks like them. I

(29:15):
will say this though, Fez in their last twenty games,
twelve and eight straight up as an underdog, fourteen and
six against the number, and if San Francisco wins the
turnover battle, there's five and oh this season, your thoughts
on the San Francisco forty Niners and Dallas catching three?
You know, Bernie, all week long, I said, as soon

(29:35):
as it goes to three and a half, I'm gonna
bet the Niners. And oh it's Saturday night. It has
not gone to three and a half nor and I'm
not certain that it will. I do favor the forty
Niners even at three in this game, but it's just
a strong Land at three. Very impressive performance by the Niners.

(29:55):
Last week, Jimmy looked good. Uh so important that people
annual percent along with Kittle and Dallas, I firmly believe
is overrated. They got to play that Sames team that
had was missing most of their old line, had all
kinds of issues. They got to play COVID stricken Washington twice,
a Giants team that had quit, an Eagles team that

(30:16):
mailed it in week seventeen. So five of the last
six games with the Wowboys were against depleted teams, well
and Arizona, who was playing terrible. Oh they lost Arizona.
I don't trust Dac, I don't trust Zeke. I don't
trust the Cowboys head coach. Real close game, I would
look to the Niners. By the way, I am actually
on the under face. I got it earlier in the

(30:37):
week and fifty one. I think you're going to see
the deploy a very methodical offensive attack, running first, keep
you everything between the hash marks, relentless, run, run, run,
and try to shorten the game. I like, Deanna, do
you have an opinion on the total? Yes, I would
wait until post I've a dinner, bet Bernie, I bet
I will text you right before. I bet you get

(30:59):
a fifty one and a half at least on this game.
And here's why I got fifty one last week yet
But but you're gonna get fifty one and a half.
I misspoke, So you're gonna get you get a higher
number right before kickoff. And here's why. The first games
under bad adverse weather conditions with wind. The second game,
no one's gonna want to bet a Pittsburgh game to
go over. This is the game the public is gonna

(31:19):
dogpile in on the over. So I think we're gonna
get fifty one and a half at post. All right, fast,
good enough, Let's go to the money night game the Rams.
At one point, we're laying five, they're down to three
and a half. You got the floor, I got, I
got a note here to myself, asked Bernie, who he likes.
I want to bet against both teams. I guess I

(31:40):
want to set a little a little more against Arizona,
who has just been horrendous down the stretch with Kingsbury
in college and in the NFL. Has really struggled. But
this year, my goodness, four losses, all losses by a
touchdown or more. One win. That win was only by
three points, so they easily. The Cardinals could have finished

(32:00):
the year old five. But I don't trust the Rams.
I don't trust Stafford at all. He doesn't look right,
he doesn't look comfortable in the scheme. He doesn't look
a hudder. If Stafford was playing well, I would love
the fade Arizona with their two injured running backs and
Hopkins not playing. But I can't trust Stafford to get
me margin. I have to pass. I'm gonna pass too,

(32:21):
even though a rubber match in this nature, your favors
the dog Rams at home versus playoff teams this year
only one in three straight up and against the spread
up their twelve wins, and only beat three teams above five.
You can't poop poo the Cardinals. I think I'd like
them a lot more if they had DeAndre Hopkins. But Fez,
I think this is as much of a coin flip
game as I've ever seen. But gun to your head?

(32:42):
Who wins the game out right? Well, obviously I picked
Rams gun into my head. If I had to take
it against the spread, I probably still take the Rams. Okay,
great stuff, as we'll have you back on next week
in this same time slot in the divisional round. And uh,
we look forward to so you know that Tennessee line

(33:02):
opened less than three. I'll certainly late to an app.
It's possible it might open to an app against Cincinnati.
Why is guys eight Tennessee. So you might get a
really low number from Yeah, but think about what you
just said. You don't have the faith in Cincinnati after
what happened tonight, and you gotta go on the road
against the team who's very season in the playoffs and
they're getting Derrick Henry back. Yeah, and that's why I'll

(33:25):
be on him with less in the field goal. Okay,
you got about good stuff. Thanks so much, fast, appreciated,
good luck. Thank you. That is Steve Physic and the
physics five. We uh if you if you missed any
of this, Uh, the guys will have the podcast up
just after three and Pacific six six am Eastern and uh,

(33:46):
and you can see the games that Fayz likes for
the Sunday and Monday version of Soup. I can't you know,
it's funny. I cannot get to syntax. It's super Wild
Cards weekend. You know what I'm trying to say. I'm
just struggling mightily, all right, coming up there's a new
jinks in the world of sports, and there's plenty of data.

(34:09):
I have seven instances where it when seven and oh
we'll have a little fun in our final segment. Here,
I'm Bernie Freddo come to you live from Las Vegas,
Fox Sports Radio Studios. Stick and stay. You're listening to
Fox Sports Sunday at Fox Sports Radio. We're back on
Fox Sports Sunday, Fox Sports Radio and Bernie Freddill come
to you live from the Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio Studios. Hey,

(34:32):
just nine hours and twelve minutes away from the resumption
of Super wild Card weekend in the NFL. Looking forward
to the triple Header on Sunday. And by the way, well,
thanks to the great efforts of bowling Chris back in
Los Angeles, I think they were able to truck down
Bill Belichick. But Bill, I've got a question for you. Now,
you've got some free time on your hands. The season

(34:52):
is over. You know, why don't we go bowling tomorrow,
have a few beers. What do you think, Bill? No,
not right now, I mean next week, I mean next week?
All right? Well, well, well, do you want to just
get together watching football and do some tequila shots? Not
right now next week? All right, Bill, Well we'll check
in later. I know you're winding down, and maybe maybe

(35:13):
you'll change your mind. Bill. I think it would be,
uh be really fun. A great job by Bowl and
Chris to track Bill down. And of course those guys
got that kind of connections. Man. All right, Uh banning
the Manning Cast jinks, forget the Sports Illustrated jinks, forget
the Madden jinks. If you don't know about those in
google them. If you don't know about those, shame on you.
But when the Green Bay Packers upset loss to the

(35:35):
Detroit Tigers last Sunday, the Manning Cast curse is now
finished the NFL regular season undefeated? What do I mean
by that? And by the way, most of you really
sampled it. You either like it or you don't like it.
A lot of people who love it, a lot of
people not so much. But it's pretty cool. Eli and
Peyton they host this Monday night football broadcasts, and every

(35:55):
active player that they've had and the following week in
their game ended up in someone I consider to be
some shocking circumstances. Don't believe me. Check it out. Travis Kelsey.
He was on Week one the Chiefs lost in week two.
Russell Wilson was also on Week one. The Seahawks lost
in week two. Rob Gronkowski was on week two. The

(36:18):
Bucks lost Week three of the Rams. If you remember,
Matt Stafford was on Week three, lost the following week
to the Arizona Cardinals. Tom Brady he was on week seven.
Bucks lost week eight. Josh Allen he was on Week eight,
and the Buffalo Bills lost Week nine. Aaron Rodgers, even

(36:42):
Aaron Rodgers he was on Week seventeen. And yes, the
game I just mentioned, the Packers lost Week eighteen to
the Detroit Tigers to George Tigers Detroit Lions. And yes,
I know, I know that Green Bay didn't play all
their starters for the entire game, but regardless, Holy Ravioli,

(37:04):
that's seven instances where an active player was on the
Manning and Peyton broadcast, the Manning casts, as it were,
and every one of those players went on to lose
the following week. What's interesting, just as a quick side note,
Major League Baseball is considering um doing the same thing

(37:27):
for Sunday Night baseball. If they have baseball you heard
my report earlier. Of course they're gonna have baseball. I
just don't think it's gonna start on time. And the
individual that they've selected, and you know, man, this guy
gets around a rod. So a ro would be doing
a version of the Manning cast like they did for football,
but he'd be doing it for baseball. I'll tell you,
I'll tell you what I'd like to see. You know,

(37:48):
you know what is it too? Is it too? Maybe
tomorrow night? The Sunday night game, uh featuring Uh, let's see,
is that the Pittsburgh Well I lost I lost track.
It's what I get for for bringing it up. But
the Sunday of that game, the late game in the
Super wild Card weekend, I wonder what Billy is still there?

(38:10):
Would you be interested in in in sitting there tomorrow
night and talking on TV? Maybe have a couple of
beers before the broadcast and talking like on the many
cast Sunday night? Not right now? Next week? Bill Man,
I tell him, Man, you got all right? I get it, man,
I get it. Um you know, maybe uh you just
want to chill like Jim Harbaugh. Uh you know. And

(38:32):
by the way, I want to say something else about hardball, because,
with all due respect to Colin, I keep hearing the
sound bite about a hardback and go to the NFL
and make more money. People need to know this about
Jim Harball, believe it or not. I don't expect you
to believe it. He's not driven by money the way
you think he is. Hardball was driven by respect and admiration.
And that's one of the reasons I think that he's

(38:54):
sort of milking this and enjoying. He even made the
statement last week considering the NFL is a lot more
enjoyable this year than last year were. Last year there
weren't the openings for him, and last year he didn't
have any leverage, and last year's preference was to leave
this year as preferences to stay. So he's got the
world by the short ones, if you if you get
my drift, so long. The short of it is, Hardball

(39:16):
was given a two million dollar bonus this year for
beating a house state and went into Big ten. You
know what he did with that money. Hardball gave that
money and spread it out to all the employees of
the Athletic Department UM who whose salaries were compromised during COVID.

(39:38):
So there you have it. And and to imply that
hardball is looking for a money grab. It's really it's
really not true. When I talked to people that know him,
he's made enough money, uh to last him the next
forty two lifetimes. His dad lives across the street from
Nana Arbor. He has resurrected that Michigan program. They're making
a fortune. They do like him there yesterday last year

(40:00):
was a rough deal. But if you read the tea
leaves and I'm sticking to my uh, unless you know Bill,
let's Bill one last question for I let you run.
Do you want the Michigan job? Would you maybe fly
to Michigan and interview this week? Yeah? No, not right now,
I mean next week. Alright, clearly, clearly Bill is a

(40:20):
is a very busy man right now, and you really
just can't be bothered. So we're gonna have to um
respect his privacy. Coming up, should the Raiders hire Rich Besaccia.
We'll talk about that another interim. Coaches throughout history, keep
it locked. This is Bernie Fratto, Fox Sports Sunday, Fox
Sports Radio. The Fox Sports Sunday train rolls right on.

(40:41):
I'm Bernie Frattle, come to you alive from the Las
Vegas Fox Sports Radio studios take up to three am
Pacific six m Eastern as we get you ready for
the Sunday triple header of the Super wild Card weekend.
Were just what nine hours and eight hours and nine
minutes away from the resumption, and we saw a couple

(41:03):
of interesting games today the Raiders, uh idiosyncratic season came
to an end. But give him top credit for getting
into the playoffs in the first place. And it leads
to what I believe will be the new angle of
the story that will be watched very closely, and that
is the interim coach, rich Persaccio. Will he be invited

(41:24):
to will he be retained as the head coach and
have the interim label removed? Um? I I think his
chances are maybe. However, let me say this, um, the
man did a hell of a job. Uh. You've people
seem to have already forgotten the flashpoint on October eleven

(41:45):
when John Gruden was released, and even before that, the
Raiders had lost their starting guards Richie and Kottnito and
Denzeel Good to injury earlier in the year, and obviously
you had the Henry Ruggs situation being cut. Finally was
involvement in a high speed car crash, you lift a
woman dead. There are a Pro Bowl tight end, Darren

(42:06):
Waller missed five games down the stretch. The other Pro Bowler,
running back Josh Jacobs, was dinged up all year and
was not available at times. They lost their very versatile
running back and and Kenyan Drake. They had the situation, uh,
you know with the defensive back who was waving guns
and got cut and it just never ended. Uh. But

(42:31):
somehow Rich Besac didn't four weeks what Jon Gruden couldn't
do in four years. He got them to the playoffs.
So should he get the gig? Well, I think it
really needs to be considered. Here's the challenge. If you
go throughout history, it's not a favorable method of hiring

(42:53):
a coach. Because I did some research on this, and
you've got to go back quite a ways. But I
found a sample of forty two head coaches who started
out as interim coaches and when they ended up getting
the gig for real, if you look at the cumulative record,
they were under five hundred uh and and this is

(43:14):
a this is a broad based group going back fifty years,
actually longer than that. But as part of the group,
Sid Gilman, who I'm sure you've heard of, and Marv
Levy there in the Hall of Fame for their coaching careers,
and they started out as interim coaches. But of the
forty two coaches that were interim coaches, only nine had

(43:36):
a winning record with the team after the interim period ended.
So I don't know that that bodes well are poorly
for rich Besocci, because this was not a situation where
you know, there's three games to go and you fire
the coach and you just got a babysit it like
a substitute teacher and limping into the next year. I

(43:59):
remember when and Matt Millan fired uh, when I was
covering the Lions in two thousand four Thanksgiving. We actually
had dinner with Stephen A. Smith that night. There's a
name drop, but he After the Thanksgiving, Gaye Mooch was
fired and they brought in Dick Guron, who did a
pretty good job down the stretch, and I remember advocating, uh,
maybe they should hire him. What they didn't. They didn't
hire him. They I was told they couldn't really sell

(44:21):
the press conference, so they hired Rod Marinelli, another one
of Matt Millan's interesting moves Marinelli where he was, you know,
only sixteen a couple of years later. But I digress. Look,
even coaches like George Hallis, we're on him coaches at
one time. Um. And so what's interesting is, you know,
only twelve of the forty two coaches had a winning

(44:43):
record during their interim stint, but that whether they want
or not, sometimes didn't always uh determine whether or not
they got the job, meaning like you had to win
to get the job. Don core Yell had a winning record,
Art Shell had him winning record as an interim coach,
and they were one of the few that went on

(45:03):
to coach more than forty games for their team. But
there were nine team coaches who won less than a
third of their games his interim coach. And so those,
you know, only four of those actually went on to
get the gig. So I'm giving a bunch of numbers here,
but I think you might be able to relate to
some names of coaches that actually started out as interim

(45:24):
coaches but they end up getting the gig. Again, think
about this within the framework of Rich Pisaccia. Because the
Raiders are an iconic franchise. Some people love them, some
people hate it, but let me tell you that Raider
Nation is for real and the NFL is better when
the Raiders win. And I know that he Besacci won

(45:45):
the locker room. But here's the deal, because I had
some people tweet at me that they didn't think he
was really a good sideline coach. Here's the reality. If
you're going to promote an interim coach, one of the
things it's part of the evaluation is they have to
have proven how much they actually impact the game from
the sidelines. All right. I realized that players have to

(46:06):
execute all the players on the field. And you know,
but a player can make a huge amountal mistake. Uh
and that could be related to coaching, right, no cope,
but no coach has ever consistently went without great players.
But as an interim coach, you're likely taking over a
team that does not have a deep roster. You're taking
over a team that's usually bad. Um. One thing that

(46:28):
stands out seven of the nine coaches who had their
first coaching get in the NFL after being interim coach,
only Marv Levy and he started out with Kansas City
and Don Coryell had prior experience, and then they became
head coaches again after becoming interim coaches, so this is
kind of convoluted. Rich Basace has always been a he

(46:49):
a you know, an assistant coach, I mean talking about
three decades. He was the special team's coach for the Raiders,
but Don Coryell after becoming uh the head coach of
the Chargers. He had eight phenomenal years in San Diego.
Never won a Super Bowl, never had a defense, but
he had he was a very he was a visionary offensively,

(47:10):
had a lot of high risk, high reward passing games,
had great, you know, teams that could score a lot
of points, and but they never won a Super Bowl.
Marty Schottenheimer, I think is one of the most underrated
coaches of all time. He has a six thirty five
winning percentage in the regular season and again he started
as an interim coach. Marty Schottenhammer has the highest winning

(47:30):
percentsion percentage of any of the forty two coaches that
were ever hired after being interim coach. Um, you know,
Sam Martiguliano was fired by the Browns. They started one
in seven. Schottenhammer only went four and four down the stretch,
but then he was instrumental. They brought in Bernie Kosar.

(47:51):
You know the rest they had always in Denver beat twice.
I mean they had had, you know, the drive and
then the fumble and the goal line. Raymond Hurry at all,
a Hall of Fame wide receiver with the Baltimore Colts,
was an interim coach. Took over for the New England
Patriots in four and uh, you don't they did okay

(48:11):
down the stretch, but uh he you know, the the
team had some talent with Stanley Morrigan and Andre Tippett
and Irving Friar and Barry got into the Super Bowl.
They just happened to lose to that one of the
greatest defenses of all time, Buddy Ryan's, you know, defense
of the Chicago Bears back in five. But Raymond Barry, so,

(48:32):
Raymond Barry, Marty Schottenheimer. These are guys that started out
interim Jerry Glanville, right, he still like to dress in
black like Elvis, and he took over for as an
interim coach after Hugh Campbell was was was fired in
Houston in and he was only five and eleven his
first year. But you could see sort of this nasty

(48:54):
defense that was being created, and he turned the astrodome
they called at the House of Pain, and the next
thing you know, they became a playoff team. And then
they got corn Moon and they put things together and
Glenville made the playoffs three years in a row in
Houston before we went on to Atlanta. You've already heard
me mentioned Marvel Levy, just an elegant man. I had

(49:15):
the pleasure of meeting him once. Got the Buffalo Bills
to four Super Bowls. Yeah, I get they didn't win them,
but you know, you had the Norwood miss kick or
they would have beaten the Giants. And then they ran
into a really good Washington Redskins team at the time,
Mark Rippon, the game was played in Minnesota. I believe

(49:36):
it was ninety two. I believe that was Super Bowl.
And then you ran into the Cowboys the third and
fourth years with the roster full of Hall of famers.
I will always give a huge respect to Buffalo for
getting the Super Bowl four years in a row. Who
did it? Marv Levy, who at one time was an
NFL coach in the room coach excuse me, Art Shell. Okay,

(49:58):
they al Davis fired Mike Shanahan after twenty games into
his first NFL coaching job, and Al Davis went with
the former player turn coach. His interim coach, Art Shell
was not only in the roim coach, he became the
first African American head coach in modern NFL history. And
uh art Shell did a really good job. They started
out one and three and eighty nine, but they finished

(50:20):
seven and five down the stretch. But in art Shell's
first full year, the team finished twelve and four, his
first winning season in five years, and they reached the
FC Championship game. Again. There's an interim coach who had success,
Jeff Fisher. He took over the Houston Oilers and who
became the Tennessee Titans. And of course, you know, the

(50:40):
Fishers always accused of underachieving, but twice he had the
best record in the league. And then you know, because
he went one and done in the playoffs, but he
had six winning seasons and they got to the Super
Bowl loss to the Greatest show on turf. It's hard
for an interim coach to have success when he gets
to the you know, the top of the mantelin becomes

(51:03):
the full time head coach, because you know, it's They've
just they've got the world against him. In a sense,
you can almost compare the interim coach to the number
one quarterback taken in the draft. You go to one
of the worst, usually go into a bad team, and
you're expected to be the savior without a whole lot
of help, right, And you have to have a roster.

(51:23):
Basacchi has enough of a roster that they can build on.
And one of the other issues is Mike Mayock, the
general manager. There's just no telling whether or not he's
gonna be back, So there's gonna be a lot of
decisions to be made. As I said, I actually believe
And if you listen to the comments Derek Carr and

(51:44):
half the locker room made today, they will go and
they will go into hell for that man. And and
you know, everybody's seems like everybody has already forgotten. October
Landworth was one hell of a flashpoint. Jon Gruden was
gone under a very extenuating circumstances, and again the personnel
losses Richie Incardnito Denzel Good, Henry Ruggs, Darren Waller, Kenyan, Drake,

(52:08):
Josh Jacobs. The Raiders had all sorts of off the
field distractions on the field, distractions, and they were left
for dead more than once uh week thirteam. They were
given by FPI a four percent chance to make the playoffs.
Well they did it. That counts for something. This is
not a typical interim job Pasaccia got in. He was

(52:30):
a stabilizing influence. That team developed a hell of a
competitive stamina and it showed today. I mean, they took
the game right down to the wire against the Cincinnati
team that was rested and the Raiders, who just played
seventy minutes Sunday night, had to get on a plane
go to Cincinnati, playing the cold, all the things right,
a hothouse team, they're a dome team, and they still

(52:52):
almost won. You simply cannot ignore the fact that rich
Prosaccio presided over that. I'm rooting for him, and I
just gave you a litany of coaches and names of
coaches who ended up with a lot of notoriety in
the NFL that started with the interim tag. Someone who
didn't have an interim tag but was hired recently by

(53:14):
the New York Yankees. You're probably gonna hear more about
this individual. Her name is Rachel Balkovic. She's got quite
a background. I'll share it with you. Coming up next,
and what was an historic higher this past week in
Major League Baseball. I'm Bernie Fraddock Company live from the
Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio Studios. Keep it locked right here.
You're listening to Fox Sports Sunday on Fox Sports Radio.

(53:38):
We're back on Fox Sports Radio. Fox Sports Sunday. I'm
Bernie Freddo coming your life the Las Vegas Fox Sports
Radio Studios. We will take up to three and Pacific
six am Eastern. We're just eight hours and thirty nine
minutes away from NFL kickoff as Super wild Card weekend resumes.
Last week, we had a really good conversation at the

(54:00):
crew on who might be the first female head coach
in the on a major league level. Because Becky Hammon
I thought would be hired by the San Antonio Spurs
right now by now, and we agreed it wouldn't be hockey.
We certainly agreed it wouldn't be football. Perhaps Major League
Baseball took a step closer because the New York Yankees

(54:22):
is past week hired an individual by the name of
Rachel Belkovic. She will be managing her singlely affiliate Tampa Tarpons. Uh,
and that's pretty cool. If you look at my Twitter page,
I got a picture of me in a Tampa tar
Pond uniform many many years ago. But I digress. Um,

(54:44):
here's what's cool. This adds to a growing list of
women making baseball history, which I think it's great. Um,
Balcovic will be the Yankees on field manager, making, you know,
making her the first female manager of an affiliated professional
baseball team. You know, this is not an independent league,

(55:06):
the tampatar ponsor Yankee singlely affiliate and uh, you know,
she'll We're gonna have minor league baseball whether or not
there's a strike. I mean check that, whether or not
they get this resolved or not, that's not gonna affect
minor leagues. But what's interesting is Rachel Balkovic has been
one of the organization's Yankee Organizations hitting coaches since and

(55:27):
now she's earned the right to be the manager. So
and again, I keep repeating myself, but you'd be managing
the single A team for the New York Yankees. And um,
although she's been a hitting coach for a couple of years,
what's interesting is she and she started four years old.
She's from Omaha, Nebraska. She's been at this for a

(55:50):
long time, ten years okay, really has paid her dues.
She got her first position in professional baseball with the St.
Louis Cardinals as a rinketon conditioning coach in the minor
leagues back in two thousand twelve. She's even you know,
and and again. In addition to being a hitting coach,

(56:10):
she was a former softball catcher at the University of
Creighton and in New Mexico. And she moved from the
Cardinals to the Houston Astros uh in and then she
was hired as the Latin American strength and conditioning coordinator
and during that this is important because during that tenure

(56:34):
she learned to speak Spanish. That's big time. A lot
of Major league managers speak Spanish. You man right out
have known that. And went on to move to Double
A Corpus Christie in the Houston Astros organization where she
was the strength and conditioning coach there and she spoke Spanish. Now,
she did leave baseball inen to pursue a second master's

(56:57):
degree at some university I can't even pronounces in the Netherlands,
and while there she also worked with their country's national basketball,
baseball and softball teams. And then she worked for a
company called drive Line Baseball, which is a data driven
baseball center that has actually trained numerous Major leaguers before
being hired by New York. So this is an individual,

(57:19):
this is a very serious individual who very much earned
this opportunity. And she was quoted as saying, quote, I
view my path as an advantage because truthfully, she had
to do a lot more, most likely than a male
counterpart that would have gotten the job of this nature.

(57:40):
And now she believes she's so much more prepared for
the challenges she might encounter. And this promotion, this hiring,
is being it's being praised by people who know what
they're talking about, is being praised by me. Now you
may recall, right before COVID hit in January, the Giants
made a very groundbreaking higher uh when they hired a

(58:01):
young lady by the name of Alyssa Nakin to become
the first female coach. He was a coach in Major
League Baseball history. And then there was Kimming's. She had
risen through the ranks in the front office to the
role of general manager. She became general manager of the
Marlins Miami Marlins in November of of and doing so

(58:24):
now that she became the first woman to lead a
major men's sports team in America, as well as the
first Asian American to lead a big league club. Now,
the Red Sox also had a minor league coach by
the name of Bianca Smith, and that was hired just
ten months ago. She became the first black woman to

(58:44):
coach in pro ball. So these opportunities are opening and
I think it's terrific. Now more recently, you know, there's
been a real wave of baseball women making the news.
About the same time as Rachel balkovec uh the Astros
officially and as a lady by the name of Sarah
Goodrum she's going to become the director of player Development.

(59:05):
I think that just happened officially a lot, just like
five six days ago. And the Blue Jays hired a
lady by the name of Jamie Vieira as their first
female coach. And then there's a there's another one. Uh.
I believe her name is Genevieve Genevieve Beacon or something.

(59:26):
She's only seventeen years old. Now. She became the first
woman to pitch for a professional team in Australia. She
debuted for Melbourne as just this last weekend. And by
the way, I had conversations about this on the radio
and Detroit. But probably about twenty years ago, there was
a left handed pitcher by the name of Isla Borders
who actually pitched in the minor leagues, and she competed,

(59:49):
and she threw about eighty three miles an hour, and
which is about the same speed as Jamie Moyer. So
I remember having a round table discussion about this about
twenty years ago and theorizing, I don't think you're gonn
to see an NFL player a female, maybe a kicker,
but doubtful. I don't think you're gonna see an an
NBA player. Annie Myers, the brother the sister of Dave
Myers any miners drives deal, tried out for the She

(01:00:11):
was paid fifty grand. Tried out for the Indiana Pacers.
I mean, this is a long time ago, this is
like nine. She competed, but she didn't make the team.
Man and Riyoma, goalie for the Tampa Bay Lightning, played
you know, had it played in the preseason a million
years ago. I don't think you're gonna see an NHL
player from the female ranks, an NBA or or NFL. However,

(01:00:35):
a left handed pitcher who can throw eighty three. They
can change speeds, paint the corners, keep the ball down,
breaking ball, mixed things up like Jamie Moyer dide, that's
not inconceivable. That's not inconceivable. So there have been all
sorts of pioneering women. Most you've never heard. Elaine Steward,
Roquel Fierira, she's an assistant GM with the Yankees, Gene Alterman.

(01:00:58):
Most of them played baseball or softball on some level.
Back to Rachel Balkovic, I mean, this is a very
serious person. She's got a master's degree in sports administration.
She's got a masterress and biomechanics that she got in
the Netherlands while she was coaching with the Dutch national
baseball team, and uh again, drive line and so on

(01:01:22):
and so forth. So she's got a resume that has
no short of experience, no, no, no shortage of experience.
And she told NBC though, and this is the part
of the story I'm taking forever to get to. But
this is this is the part that's the apex. Okay,
she told NBC in an interview recently that she didn't

(01:01:43):
start receiving any interest from Major League Baseball organizations until
she changed her name from Rachel to Ray. She spelled
out R A E. So she she put out these
job applications with various major league teams, but instead of
calling herself Rachel Bolkovic, she called herself Ray Bolkovic r A.

(01:02:06):
And then all of a sudden, she started getting calls
because of her background and starting getting interviews. But here's
the kicker. Once they found out she was a woman,
she got rejection letters right and left. And she even
tells a story how one team said we will never
hire a woman. Imagine that. I don't know who the
team was, I don't know who said it or when

(01:02:26):
it was said. But now Rachel Balkovic again, she considers
the discrimination she faced it is kind of an advantage
because it forced her to push herself. Uh, it's it's in,
you know. It's one of the unfortunate parts of her story.
But the latest chapter is that she's made history along
with several other trioblazing women that I've talked about in baseball.

(01:02:50):
And if these women can have success, and it's measurable success,
whether it's in the front office around the field. Then
perhaps always don't have to go through the same mistreatment
on their way to sports highest ranks. So what's interesting?
Uh maybe well, you know, maybe we'll bring in the
crew on this on the other side, uh, kind of
put them on the spot, um, meaning that a could

(01:03:14):
you envision this young lady advancing to the major leagues
and might now we have a situation where the first
ever female manager coach at center on the major league
level might be for baseball instead of basketball with Betty Hammond.
And maybe I'll tell you what. I'll throw it out
to the guys. Is it conceivable that a female could

(01:03:35):
compete on the major league level as as a player?
And which sport would it be? You've seen my vote already.
I've mentioned left handed picture Isla Borrower. So what chopped
that up with the crew? Because when we talked about
this last week, we didn't have this news to report.
And this is real news, Make no mistake, this is
real news. Rachel Balkovick was hired by the New York
Yankees should be managing in the trip in the single

(01:03:57):
A affiliate Tampatar Ponds will get the crew involved than
some of this roundtable discussion coming up. But first let's
go to the man. Well, he's a long time NFL veteran.
That's the National Friendly League. It's Brian Finley with the latest. Yeah,
thank you, Bernie. If I was in the NFL, I
probably make a career in a killing as a holder.
But other than that, I think that my hopes are dashed.

(01:04:18):
So let's start with tennis. Tennis world number one Novak Djokovic,
a lot of drama around him. Is he gonna play
in the Australian Open? Is he not? He is not.
Three judges with the Australian Federal Court have denied Djokovic's
appeal for a visa, which was canceled in part because
the country considers him a health threat since he did

(01:04:41):
not get the COVID JAB. And since this news broke out,
Djokovic put out a statement acknowledged that he will be
deported and it's no longer going to fight the matter.
NFL a f C Wildcard playoffs from yesterday, the Bills
overcome the Patriots forty seven to seven. Team Buffalo quarterback

(01:05:01):
Josh Allen slinging it all over the place. He had
five touchdown tosses. Foreign completions. How about that for some efficiency,
no punts, no turnovers for his team as Buffalo devours
Bill Belichick's New England Patriots. Earlier on Saturday, the Bengals
got it done against the Raiders nineteen. So since he

(01:05:22):
as their first postseason wins, its one. Derek Carr trying
to lead his team to potential game tying touchdown, Buddy
threw a pick at the goal on on fourth down,
and since he got Evan McPherson their kicker to go
four for four in field goal tries. As far as

(01:05:43):
the NBA is concerned, just a couple of mentions to
get to hear. The Mavericks overwhelmed the Magic one away
to nine two, with Luka don Chech dropping twenty three points.
Jalen Brunson had nineteen for Dallas, Nicole Yokich multitasking a
triple double seventeen points, twelve rebounds and three assists as

(01:06:04):
the Nuggets take down the Lakers one thirty three to
nineties six, and it got Magic Johnson so upset the
former Laker, of course, that he sent out a tweet
calling out the team, and that caused a little stir
in controversy on the social media web. And then we
also had a victory for the We mentioned the Nuggets

(01:06:26):
over the Lakers. Also, the Celtics get the job done
against the Bulls one fourteen to one twelve. Chicago has
a three game losing street exact. Colin did not play
in this game. He's dealing with an injury and it's
considered a left knee injury, so hopefully he will not
be out for long. Let's get back to a guy
who plays through every injury. It's Bernie Fratto. Try baby,

(01:06:50):
I play hurt man. I don't want to beat a
Wally Pip. There's a double negative, like sparking Intererston. All right,
wait's let's keep it right here with you, Brian. Two
part question. And by the way, he's young, lady, Rachel Balcolbeck.
I mean not hard to research, not hard to google.
See you're in uniform all that stuff. Uh so get
armed with this information. Do you think now the first

(01:07:12):
female manager on any major level will be in baseball
or basketball or what? And secondly, who might ever be
a player in one of the major leagues of what sport?
Would that be? Well, that's a fascinating So the first
part I think all of them eventually are going to
have a female leading I think the NBA is going
to be first, and we might see the NFL and

(01:07:36):
then Major League Baseball. Al as far as a player, now,
that is a fascinating discussion here. I would have to
think about that for a second to be honest with you, Bernie.
But from a coaching perspective, NBA one, NFL two, then
Major League Baseball and then NHL. Do you think a
female could play in the NBA? Well, you mentioned it,

(01:08:00):
It's been tried before. I'm all ford, I'd love to
see it. My vote is is baseball because you're going
back twenty years uh the Colorado Silver Bullets and people
should google them. They were a barnstorming team of all females,
and I interviewed one of their top players, Angie r Lotti,
who became Angie Minting. He works for Fox Sports and
Seattle great athlete, UH left handed hitter All American the

(01:08:24):
University of Washington. She played with Olive Borders and she
really believed that a left handed pitcher, a female left
handed pitcher like an Island Borders who can throw eighty
three miles an hour, same as Jamie Moyer paint the
black right and uh and he breaking balls and chain
speeds and you know, could potentially compete. Now, Oleve Borders

(01:08:44):
did not do well in the minor leagues, but does
mean so I don't think about a left handed pitcher
who throws in the low eighties, but who keeps the
ball down, keeps the ball away, you know, just because
I can't see a running back or a skater or
a point guard. Just can't just my opinion, But what
do you think, Brian? You know, we we know that
females are better than males and a lot of different

(01:09:06):
things athletically and from let's go to a fielding perspective.
I think in baseball you you mentioned pitching. I also
think that if you had a three point contest, that
there are a lot better female three point shooters than
mail three point shooters. And so now that's part of
the game. There's also other parts of the game as well.

(01:09:27):
You're matching athleticism and all those things. And we've seen
a lot of females up through athleticism to point where
we're watching dunks in w NBA games. So I think
it's close, but I will say that it's probably more
likely to happen in the most recent time with coaches,
and then maybe we see players follow suit. That would

(01:09:49):
be kind of cool. What do your thought on both
those questions? UM, I don't think we're going to see
a female coach anytime soon. UM. I think the NBA
is probably the most likely, just because Becky Hammond seems
to have the inside track. UM. And as for a player,
never them, I think the closest you could get is

(01:10:13):
maybe in the NBA. Like I think Candice Parker could
probably have played maybe ten minutes or something in the NBA.
But even then, like I think we forget just how
much bigger and stronger male athletes tend to be well.
I think it might be right too on basketball, because
before a female could manage in the major leagues, I

(01:10:34):
would say the climb is long and hard in the
minor leagues. Most major league managers spent several years parts
of a decade, and they have to show a lot
of success. Jim Leland comes to mind, Thanks Bolt, Christopher
fed You know how about soccer, Chris? I mean, women
are really good soccer players, but could you see a
female on a soccer roster or coaching a man's soccer team.

(01:10:56):
Uh So, for I think in that case, and this
is probably the case in most for female athletes in
it kind of what would be a potential co ed league.
It's not even a matter of athleticism or physicality. I
think it's just attitude. At this point, I don't think.
I don't think that any kind of male dominated locker

(01:11:16):
room really um at least with current society latitudes, really
has the room for it. Like I'm not saying that's right.
I'm just saying that's kind of the reality of it
right now. And I think that's doubly so in in
soccer as well. It's not. I mean, there there's some
great women's leagues that are that especially growing in many
many parts. I mean NWSL here in North America, but

(01:11:39):
also you know Women's Syria, Women's for in in England
as well. But I just don't I just don't see it,
uh ever, happening, at least not in my lifetime. I'm
not gonna say never say never, but it's so far
ahead in the future that I wouldn't even begin to
speculate on it. First of all, you bring up an
excellent point with respect to this ecodynamic here and that

(01:12:02):
the attitudes. I mean, think about when I when I
referenced Rachel Balkovic's background, she had to change her named
ray and resumes, and she's getting calls because there are
there's a pedigree there and there's a lot of accomplishments
and a lot of good work on a resume. Once
they found out she was female, she started to getting
rejection letters and one team said would never hired one.

(01:12:22):
So you bring up a really good point, you know
what I do want to add though, like I wouldn't
count out American football for having you know, women coaches
because well you have those now strength coach, yeah, from
strength and conditioning coaches. But also like I could see
them as a passing coordinator, I could see them as
an offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator. It's like the guys who
get those positions who are quality control or quality analysts,

(01:12:44):
they're not a lot of those guys. Maybe they played
ball at like Division three or or an ai A.
Like there's a lot of guys who the highest level
of football on their resume is like Renstler Polytechnic Institute,
which is yeah, it's a great hockey. Your football I
don't know so much, But I'm just saying, right, the
bar I mean for coaching. Yeah, the bar for coaching,

(01:13:07):
that's an RPI guy, that right there. Yeah, the bar
for coaching in to like to be a former athlete
to then turn around and coach American football is not
really that high. You need some background on it. But
as we've learned from you know, the legacy the Madden Games,
everyone's kind of it's it's accessible to get into the
tactics and the strategy of football in this in this

(01:13:28):
day and age, it's just a matter of who you
know and where you can get those opportunities. And it's
more about the on the on hand learning experience than
is being a former player. All really good stuff. But
all three guys, I appreciate your honesty and candor. And
this is a very actually a complex question that has
a lot of layers. You know, I think we still
got Bill Bilichick on the line. I know Bill likes

(01:13:49):
to hang out and listen to the show. Hey Bill,
I'm I'm just curious if you were to step down. Uh,
maybe you've had enough and you know you were in
your mask and you're a little tired right now. But
if you're to step down, do you think Robert Kraft
might hire a female coach to coach the Patriots? Not
right now, next week? Oh god, well we might have
a scoop there. I hope Bill doesn't retire, all right?

(01:14:11):
Coming up? You know him, you love me Kadley without him,
we gotta bring him back. It is time for macin
on Sports. The Ckenzie Rivers will have some NFL data
as we are just now eight hours and eighteen minutes
away for the resumption of Super Wildcard weekend in the NFL.
I'm Bernie Fraddle Company. You live from Las Vegas, Fox

(01:14:31):
Sports Radio Studios. Keep it locked. You're listening to Fox
Sports Sunday on Fox Sports Radio. We're back on Fox
Sports Sunday, Fox Sports Radio on Bernie Fraddle Company, Alive
from the Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio Studios. Take up
to three and Pacific, six am Eastern. Don't forget top
of the hour. We got the dance sensation sweeping the nation.

(01:14:54):
What kind of brand new fool are you? Followed by
on what my name? Uh? Do we have Mackenzie? Okay,
so Mackenzie, we're efforting mackinam Sports. He wanted to talk
about the Philadelphia Eagles and how he believes they're in
over their head in Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, which

(01:15:18):
I'm an agreement. All right, Um, the Bucks were seven
point chalk in Philadelphia back in Week six. They won
two on a Thursday night, and that was a game
that really wasn't as close as the final score would
need to believe. Philly kind of pulled out a backdoor
cover on a last minute, meaningless score. Here's where I'm

(01:15:38):
in agreement with mackenzie that Philly is in over their
head tomorrow. When you look at certain UH matchups Bruce
Arians versus Nick Sirianni, Tom Brady versus Jalen Hurts, Philly
is gonna bring a very very heavy rpo playbook. Right,
We've got mackin on sports now. Mackenzie was about to
make your point for you and the fact that I

(01:15:59):
believe the Eagles are in over their head tomorrow like
you do. They're owing six straight up against playoff teams
this year. But the thing for me is Tampa based
stuffs to run. Philly is going to have to run
to have a chance. You get the floor. You said
that there's one thing that Philly wants to do, and
let's play Oklahoma style football with their Oklahoma style quarterback
that won the Heisman. And not only are the Eagles

(01:16:21):
the very worst team in the field against playoff teams
and six straight up one and five against the number,
they are matched up against the best team in the
field against playoff teams, Tampa Bay winners four and one.
And it's really been Actually, the Eagles defense has been
so disappointing. They've given up thirty six points per game

(01:16:43):
in these six games versu playoff opponents. That's the worst
in out of any of the playoff field. So it's
it's a it's a doomsday massecure written all over it.
The only question is will the weather it's supposed to
be twenty five miles for our winds and rainy in
Tampa Bay? Does that add the wrench in the mix
can make it possible for the upset? I don't really

(01:17:05):
see it though, So the only question is how can
we make money on it? Because eight points is a
lot in the NFL. A couple of things, Mackenzie, and
too much is being made to the weather in my opinion,
because Brady's experienced, there's nothing he hasn't seen. Jalen Hurts
is not, and I think you would agree, Mackenzie. Regardless

(01:17:25):
of what the weather is, Philadelphia really benefited from a
super soft schedule to finish the year. They played four
their last seven at home. They only had to travel
to New Jersey once or twice and once to d C,
and they played against teams under records. Add to that,
Brady historically when he's played a team in the playoffs

(01:17:45):
he already beat During the regular season, he's six and
one straight up, six and one against the spread by
an average margin of nineteen points per game. If Philly
is forced to operate from the pocket because they can't
run the ball, what chance do you of they give
them zero? Zero presents chance. That's why I'm going to
put them on a money line parlay the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

(01:18:06):
Just with something else that I like in tomorrow's slate
and you named it's all about the quarterback. I mentioned
a couple of weeks ago on this segment there's been
two teams that the betters have bet more than any
other team in the league, the Cincinnati Bengals and the
Philadelphia Eagles. Well, what was the big difference? I said?
The Joe Burrow pf grade is sustainable, it's elite, and

(01:18:30):
Jalen Hurts is the opposite. It's the worst. That's why
the Bengals have the best PFF grade and scoring margin
against playoff team. We saw it today. They won that.
Josh Allen was second. They won easily Philadelphia fourteen and
QBR versus playoff teams and the worst scoring margin. Like
I mentioned, I think these things are repeatable. Josh Allen

(01:18:50):
did great against good competition, so did Joe Burrow. They
showed it today. I think it's repeatable. I think Dalen
Hurts did very poorly. I mean he's nine and two
against non playoff teams. It very poorly against the playoff teams.
Oh and sixth straight up. I think we see it
repeat one more time in the Tampa Bay Bucks advance
and Tom Brady gets thirty one playoff wins. It's totally

(01:19:11):
eleven losses. All Right's a quick question. I grabbed Tampa
several days ago and they were minus seven. What's the
career line eight and a half. It's seven and a half.
It went all the way up to nine, and weather
concerns have made it jump back down to eight seven
half in some places. Do you think the matter. Do
you think the line's gonna matter? They just went by
double digits Tampa Bay. I don't. I don't think score

(01:19:32):
more than ten points. So the Buccaneers, I think they
kind of roll. Whether there's some late minute, last minute
and Nanigans and the Eagles get close, maybe they cover
in the last minute, but I don't see it. I
see twenty to seven, twenty seven to seven, something like that.
All right, mackenzie was seeing an hour. You've been red
hot with your prop bets. Twenty six and thirty nine.
The year coming up? What my name and what kind

(01:19:53):
of brand new fool are you? We have a lot
of fun. Keep it locked ready here Fox Sports Sunday,
Fox Sports Radio, Bernie Fratto, The Fox Sports Sunday train
rolls right on. I'm Bernie Fratto, come to you live
from the Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio Studios. Will take
you after three and Pacific six aim Eastern. We're seven
hours and fifty nine minutes away for more NFL. But man,

(01:20:17):
we're just getting started. We got so much more to
get to with the remainder of our show. And yes
it is that time. Yes, it's the dance sensation sweeping
the nation. Something we affectionately call what kind of brand
new fool are you? What kind of brand new fool

(01:20:41):
are you? So you know, we've talked about this every week,
and it's catching fire cards with letters coming in from
around the country. Sometimes they're criminals, sometimes they're just everyday folks.
Sometimes their luminaries, famous people doing things that look foolish,
and so we just very julvi e ly asked the
question what kind of brand a new fool of you?
And I came dangerously close, dangerously close for Kelly Stafford

(01:21:06):
to make the list. I just couldn't do it. Didn't
want to do it. She probably doesn't realize that the
Rams are about the fifth most popular team in Los Angeles.
Do little research, you'll see I'm right. But I'll tell
you I've got it. Bears repeating, I have got to
go with Walt Anderson, the senior VP of NFL officials,
who stands mute and basically says that the referees had

(01:21:29):
it right because quote, the whistle blew after the receiver
caught the ball tonight in the game Cincinnati versus the Raiders. Okay, sorry,
First of all, the whistle didn't blow after the receiver
caught the touchdown past you blew before it. All you
had to do is have a pair of eyes and
ears and see that that was the obvious situation. But moreover,

(01:21:50):
this is what so bothers him and so foolish. The
rule book clearly states that if there's an inadvertent whistle,
if there's an erroneous whistle at any time I'm during
the play, the play is dead. As if it never happened.
I realized Joel Burrow might have thrown a TEPS down
on the very next play. Cincinnati Bengals might still have
very well want had this not happened. But if you're

(01:22:12):
gonna be the head of officials and you've got a
group of officials that put their heads, are gonna make
a rock pile, and you get this this wrong when
the rule is basically spilled out succinctly in English, that
I've got to ask the question, what kind of brand
new fool are you? Chris Perfette, You're up next? All right, Bernie,
we're keeping this here local in Los Angeles, where two

(01:22:33):
cops with a combined twenty years twenty eight years on
the job with the Los Angeles de Police Department. We're
fired uh earlier. Yeah, I believe on Monday, and this
one's that they're fired for basically not doing their job.
As es court documents have have revealed in the investigation,
Louis Lozano and Eric Mitchell were apparently ignored a commanding

(01:22:57):
officer's request for assistance and handling an in progress robbery
at a nearby Macy's. That would be one thing, but
the reason is going to blow you away. The reason
why they did not respond to this in to a
in progress robbery from their commanding officer is they were
busy capturing Pokemon in in the virtual video game Pokemon Go,

(01:23:18):
which was a big, you know, big craze about a
few years ago. You go to various locations on like
Google Maps and you try to catch Pokemon. So they
didn't think this was fair. They wanted their their digital
in car video system and they petitioned to have the
the footage released and instead what came out in the
petition was very very funny conversation as they I'm just

(01:23:42):
pulling something here for proximly the next twenty minutes, the
in cam footage caught them discussing Pokemon. They drove to
various locations. Officer Mitchell alerted Officer Lozano that quote a
target tech just popped up. That's the name of Pokemon,
and they were driving around the city trying to catch Pokemon.
Then they went to a seven eleven and then on
the way Mitchell remarks, I got you a new Pokemon today, dude,

(01:24:06):
So what kind of fool are you? And I know
we certainly respect law enforcement, but that's just that's an
ouch right there, Good news critics, They weren't trying to
buy Pokemon cards from Logan Paul. If you get my drift. Well,
I'm sure Bob will fill you went on. What's what's
I know all about it? All right, Brian family, you're
up next. Yes, the fool here is former Laker great

(01:24:27):
Magic Johnson. See the see He's been tweeting some interesting
things and this is in response to the lakers thirty
seven point loss last night to the Nuggets, which is
bad at himself and it's one of the worst losses
of Lebron James's career. But then compounding things after the loss,

(01:24:49):
Magic Johnson, who has over five million Twitter followers, decides
to weigh in on the matter and says, quote, we
as Lakers fans can accept being outplayed, but we deserve
more than a lack of effort and no sense of urgency.
Owner Jennie Buss. You deserve better. Close quote as I

(01:25:10):
hear this, Bernie, and he talks about lack of effort
and no sense of urgency? Is this psychological projection? Isn't
this the way that Magic Johnson ran things when he
was heading that organization and how it went into disarray
when he was in charge. The other thing, what does
this do? Taking this public? All it does is stir

(01:25:31):
controversy and create drama when if you have an issue,
go right to the person, don't go out loud like
this and get everybody involved. It just looks kind of
childish and it's a fool on him and Magic Johnson
for taking that route. All right, Brian, another, Wow, some
big luminaries in the news, Magic Johnson. But no one

(01:25:54):
is exempt, right, no one? No one? By the way,
do Mike Carmen and Jason Smith still do that bit
on their show where they read it read tweet You
have to guess if it's Magic Johnson's Yeah, And the
more cliche the tweet, more likely Magic Johnson wrote it
and actually I'm told Bernie that a lot of his

(01:26:16):
tweets are actually done by one of his representatives. I
don't even know if he knows how to tweet, to
be honest with you. Well, anyway, Jason and Mike have
fun with that segment. All right, bull Beatson, you're up next.
We kind of brand new fooling you who makes the cut? Yeah,
So last week I talked about how Logan Paul, the
brother of Jake Paul uh, may have purchased three and

(01:26:37):
a half million dollars worth of Pokemon cards that were
most likely fake. Earlier this week he went to get
it confirmed and they are indeed not real. Uh. He
spent three and a half million dollars on what turned
out to be a bunch of G I. Joe trading
cards that were re repackaged into Pokemon card boxes. Um,

(01:27:00):
so yeah, that's just I wish I had three and
a half million dollars to throw away like he did.
But he still looks stupid in this situation if you
ask me, that's that's a tough one, too small three
and a half large man. Well, another rousing addition of
what kind of brand new fool are you? Who knows
what the future will bring us next week, but that

(01:27:22):
opens the door to more fright into another rousing condition
of what my name? Alrighty, here we go. Because we
are in the wild card round, we thought we would
have a bit of a wild card theme. So on
this day in I was the starting quarterback of a

(01:27:44):
team who beat the Pittsburgh Steelers that put my team
into the super Bowl for the first and only time
in the history of the franchise. Chris Perfette, what my name? Uh?
I got no? No, okay, it's okay, not easy, alright,

(01:28:06):
on this state, I quarterbacked my team defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers,
putting on my franchise into the super Bowl for the
only time in their history. Brian Finley, what my name is?
Stan Humphries? Whoa? He did it? Nicely done. They were

(01:28:26):
actually twenty point underdogs to the young leader, the young
lady in the final score I think was one bull.
Would you would you have gotten stand humphreyes binny chance?
I would have guessed the Chargers, but I would not
have known our guests that Humphries was the quarterback. All right,
fair enough, all right, let's stay on that same genre.

(01:28:52):
On this day in two thousand. I'm a Hall of
Fame quarterback, and I quarterbacked my final game in a
brutal playoff loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. I will tell
you the score that might give it away. But what
my name, Bull Benson Man. Look at you, guys, Look

(01:29:12):
at you guys. You're making short work of this. All right,
let's have one morning. If you're listening earlier, this is
gonna be a layup. All right. I'm a next Major
League Baseball player, but I've been tapped on the shoulder
to possibly share a Sunday night TV show much like
the Manning cast during Major League Baseball on Sunday nights

(01:29:34):
on ESPN. Chrisperfet what my name Alex Rodriguez, Bengal. Great job,
great job? All right? Coming up, I want to have
another quick round table discussion with the guys because I
didn't get a chance to get to this last week.
I want to talk bull opt outs. I thought Kurk,
Curb Street, and Desmond Howard were way over the top,
and I know that it was right after Old Miss

(01:29:56):
quarterback Matt Karl got hurt. It suffered what looked like
a bad leg injury at the time, but it turned
out to be a spring angle and he's gonna be okay.
The truth of the matter is prospects have good reasons
for opting out, and to micromanage someone else's life like that,
I think is over the top. So coming up, we're
gonna bring the crew and get their thoughts on ball

(01:30:17):
opt outs. And I'm gonna mention a couple of key
players that are in the playoffs this week that opted
out and it didn't seem to hurt them too much.
I'm Bernie Freddock Company Alive from the Las Vegas Fox
Sports Radio Studios, the stick and stay keep it right
here here listening to Fox Sports Sunday on Fox Sports Radio.
We're back on Fox Sports Sunday, Fox Sports Radio on

(01:30:38):
Bernie Freddock Company Alive from the Las Vegas Fox Sports
Radio Studios. And I want to get to a quick
topic that I meant to get to last week while
it's still pertinent. Part of the reason it's relevant is
because two prominent players uh Jamaar Chase, a wide receiver
for the Cincinnati Bengals, and Micah Parsons, a key contributor

(01:31:02):
for the Dallas Cowboys, and not only opted out of
their Bowl games in their in their final seasons in
college football, they opted out the entire season. You see,
they see the NFL is kind of a cruel business
and if you're damaged goods, they may not want anything
to do with you. So it's a highly individual personal decision.

(01:31:23):
And I took umbridge when Kurk, Curve Street, and Desmond
Howard bemoaning this close trend of draft prospects opting out
of ball games if they're not playoff matchups. Let's first,
let's set the record straight. This past year, there were
about rosters compiled, i'd say about college players. On these

(01:31:44):
rosters that participated in bull games, less than twenty opted out.
And it hasn't affected the ratings. So it's an overreaction,
and I think it's it's highly you know, dubious to
call into question someone else's personal decision. But before I
get into some additional data, I want to give and why,

(01:32:06):
And I know that that Kirk kerb Street went on
to say, and he did retract that he's a good guy,
but he had had a moment that he called back.
He walked it back, saying they don't love the game.
And I'm not mixed up like I covered the Lions
for ten years. There are players in the NFL. There
are two types of players. Those who really love the game,
they climbed the walls to play the game, and those
who love what the game can do for them. It's

(01:32:28):
a job. It's about fifty. That's a fact. All right,
let's bring in the crew. Chris. What are your thoughts
on players who opt out of bull games? Should they
be called in the question if we've gone too far?
I's had a bridge too far. Yeah, it's a bridge
too far. It's their bodies, it's there, it's their decision,
it's their career on the line. I think at this
point we we completely understand these guys are coming to

(01:32:50):
a college, are coming to a big name college on
on the assumption that they're trying to get ready to
go to professional football. And every time you take a
sad professional football in my be your last because of
how dangerous the game is, Like there's I wouldn't question
anyone who decides to take a business decision in that regard,
especially given the difference on money that can come down
your line depending on where you go in the NFL draft.

(01:33:13):
I don't I don't think it's fair to that. I
don't think it's fair to demand that they can sacrifice
for something that just has no real value to them
at the end of the day, no real solid value
to them. If they want to stay in, they want
to stay. If they want to go, they want to go.
But it's their their decision at the end of the day.
And if you if you have a problem with that,
then you should have a whole problem with how college
football has arranged itself in these years. And to the

(01:33:36):
larger issue, I start to take umbrage at the societal
norm where people have to, you know, virtue signal others
by telling people how great they are, by calling someone
else's behavior into question. And by the way, credit Jim
Harbaugh again, he was asked about this a couple of
years ago and he said he's all for it if
he will never stand in the way of a young

(01:33:57):
man who wants to make a decision about his future.
It's a personal, uh decision both. Benson, what are your
thoughts on this? Yeah, I thought they were way out
of line. Um, I mean, this is ultimately just a
byproduct of the playoff that I don't know if they
ever really thought about it. Uh, do it affecting it
this way? But yeah, like, no one's gonna play in

(01:34:18):
these smaller bowl games if they don't make the playoff,
especially if it's a team that expected to make the
playoff and didn't, like Ohio State. Um so, I think
it's kind of just the beginning of a new wave
here for college football. Well, and again, only twenty players
out of all there were I believe forty bowl games

(01:34:39):
thereabouts or soon. I guess two or three were canceled
because of COVID. But the bottom line is almost three
thousand players on rosters, only twenty begged off. Brian, I
don't think anybody for me, of course, CLI didn't play.
But Brian, what are your thoughts on on this situation?
And I'm really calling out kurkerb Street and Desmond Howard. Look,

(01:34:59):
I don't want to skewer him. I just want to
call to folks attention that I thought the overstepped their
bounce your thoughts. Yeah, I mean, I I get the
whole Matt Corral thing. You know, half my family actually
went to Old Miss and selfishly as a fan, I
love it. But I hate that I told you so
crowd that seemed to be coming out of everywhere on
social media as soon as you pointed out, Bernie, that

(01:35:23):
Corral went down with the injury, and thankfully it's not
as severe as it could have been. So as much
as we shouldn't criticize those who decide to opt out,
let's not criticize those who want to play. And who
knows what that is for. Is it is a desire
for the game? Is it? Hey, maybe they have a

(01:35:43):
family background where no matter what happens injury wise or not,
they're gonna be okay. As far as finances, you never know.
But again, like the playoff has taught us, it's sort
of created this high aerarchy as to what matters and
what doesn't. And if a guy doesn't think that he

(01:36:04):
can improve his draft stock in a bowl game, and
I think there's some debate about yes or no to that,
but if he doesn't think you can, you can't fault
the man for not playing. And let's talk about Matt Corroll.
B Let's talk about the PostScript. So he's going to
be one of the first quarterbacks picked. And I have
already found out through my moles that the team it

(01:36:27):
looks like that might be the most interested in Matt Carrol.
Right now are the Minnesota Vikings who draft twelfth overall,
and when you look at the scouting report they've compiled
on him, they talk about all the strengths. The injury
doesn't come up. It's behind us already. So my concern
is is that how these group think echo chamber conversations start.

(01:36:48):
And we had a weekend that it should have been
dominated by the two college football playoffs semifinals. Instead, again,
someone makes a statement, let's reset this. Kurk Curve Street
and Desmond Howard bemoan on the trend of draft prospects
opting on a bowl games if they're not playoff matchups.
You I mean Herb Street again, he's walked it back again.
I want to you know, he's human. I'm not trying

(01:37:10):
to I'm not trying to do to him what he
did to Matt Correll. But he even accused today's players
are not loving the game enough. And then so everybody
got Matt and again he retracted it. So why did
this happen in the first quarter of of the Sugar Bowl,
which is two saturdays ago? Uh old Miss quarterback Matt Correll.
He was considered to be the number one quarterback on

(01:37:33):
on there's a there's a there's an there's a guy
who wretch for the athletic. He's considered a draft guru.
His name is Dane Brugler. The rest for the athletic
he has actually Matt Crall is number one. All of
a sudden he goes down with a leg injury and
he misses the rest of the game. And at the
time people were speculating and this was gonna be a
terrible leg injury and he didn't come back. Well, it

(01:37:56):
turns out it was an ankle sprain. Here we are
two weeks later. From my understanding, he's he's fine the
best of my knowledge, and he's gonna be just fine.
On the draft board, and there are those who thought, well,
maybe he should have sat out, but he didn't. And
the others who sat out, Kirk kerb Street and Desmond Howard.
You know, as I said, for the thirteenth time, now
weighed in, there's a trend. There are a lot of

(01:38:20):
young athletes, you know, taking control of their lives and
realizing that their value and making decisions based on what's
best for them. Well, it really shouldn't be condemned. Um,
you know, some people say it should be celebrated. I
don't know. I'm just saying it shouldn't be Second guests, Um,
you're essentially you're essentially, you know, be smirching the the

(01:38:47):
attitudes and what I would, you know, sort of the
the persona and the you know, the fortitude of young
men who've you know, gone through the college experience, and
they're they're essentially making what they hope will be a
savvy business decision. All right. As I said a minute ago,
trust me, the NFL is a very cruel business the

(01:39:08):
minute you can no longer perform there. First of all,
they're always looking for people to take your place, even
if you're a starter in the NFL. You go to
camp every year and I marvel the final cuts before
the final week of the NFL, A final week in
a camp and heading up into that first week of
the NFL regular season. It's always a list of who's who,

(01:39:30):
names of players that are cut that have had success
in the NFL. Some of them have been All pros,
some of them have been in the league a decade
and by their name you think they're still good enough. No,
it's a cruel league. So if you have aspirations of
playing in the NFL, and you decide the risk reward, uh,
you know, ratio of whether or not playing in one

(01:39:53):
final game, which I don't want to call it an
exhibition game because when I covered Michigan Michigan State. Look,
you want to go to those Bull game. But the
truth of the matter and accounts against your record. But
the truth of the matter is most people don't remember
the outcomes of bowl games. So you decide, you know,
and people blame the Bull system because we wanted to playoffs.
I don't. I don't think that's that's a fact. The

(01:40:14):
truth of the matter is, um. You know, if if
you want players to play in the ball games, I
guess you can compensate them. Maybe you can be another
n I L deal for playing in the ball games.
But you know, two things can be true. You can
have a prospect that has a very good reason for
opting out. And again, look at the NFL's two best
rookies this past year. In my humble opinion, Jamar Chase

(01:40:36):
has been incredible as part of that Joe Burrow hook
up in Cincinnati and together they won their you know,
the first playoff game for that franchise. Since uh both
talked about that earlier Elier and and uh and Jason Martin.
You know that's back when Home Alone was the number
one movie. So look, Theeds are impact guys who why

(01:41:00):
risk injury? Michael Parsons, who has been an absolute game
record out of Penn State, been fabulous for Dallas. They
not only opted out of the bowl games last year,
they opted out of the entire season, all right, And
I guess the truth of the matter is, if you're
going to be smirched the players who don't play, celebrate
the players who do play in the game. But I

(01:41:20):
fall back on one thing that I think, let's give
this a dose of reality. The truth is, this isn't
even a trend. It's not anywhere near as big as
some folks would have you believe. As I said, again,
fewer than twenty players opted out of bowl games for
draft reasons, and the ratings are still good and college
football is fine. It may be slightly different. Things change

(01:41:42):
in the world, folks. There was a time we fought
for We fought wars with a single shot rifle. Things change,
So let's not overreact, all right. Coming up, Chris Perffett
in the World of soccer. He'll bring us the latest
and he's going to share an event that the and
if the NBA might want to take a page from

(01:42:02):
in terms of referencing an idea of their own that
they've got coming up. But first let's go to the man.
As I said earlier, his update is so popular and
effective that in the Unlinkeling aventable water landing his update
becomes a flotation device. It's Bryan Family with the latest.
I used to like to walk around with floatys on.
And let's start with tennis. And for all of you

(01:42:25):
out there who were hoping to see world number one
Novak Djokovic partake in the Australian Open after this controversy
and drama, it's not gonna happen. Ultimately, what happened. A
three judge panel with the Australian Federal Corps denied Djokovic's
appeal for a visa that has been canceled. He's going

(01:42:47):
to be deported and the country is doing this based
upon in part, him being viewed by the country as
a health threat since he did not get the COVID
jab a f See wild card playoffs in the NFL
from yesterday. The Bill's tattooed the Patriots forty seven to seventeen.
Josh Allen five touchdown tosses as Devin Singletary also added

(01:43:10):
two scores on the ground. The Bills seven drives, seven
touchdowns as they completely embarrassed and humiliated Bill Belichick and
his Pats. The Bengals stick it to the Raiders to nineteen,
so since he gets that elusive playoff wins, something that
they have not experienced since n Derek Carr nearly drove

(01:43:37):
his team to a game time score at the end
of the fourth, but he was picked at the goala
and trying to throw it in there in tight coverage.
As far as the NBA is concerned, Kevin Durant is
scheduled to have an m r I later on this
morning to look at his left knee. He considers it
a spring at least that's what they're saying initially. He

(01:43:58):
came out of the nets one one oh five win
against the Pelicans in the second quarter. James Harden had
twenty seven points. Zach Levine missed the Bulls game he's
dealing with an injury to his leg, and a Chicago
lost to the Celtics one to one to twelve, so
Chicago has lost three in rrow. They badly need Levine back.

(01:44:20):
The Nuggets emasculate the Lakers one thirty three to nineties
six Lebron James twenty five points. He did not stick
around for any postgame conversations with the media. He said,
I'm out of here, and Nicole Yokitch said, I got
a triple double seventeen points, twelve rebounds and thirteen assists.
And finally, the Mavericks led by Luke Chich he had

(01:44:43):
twenty three points and they devour the Magic one O
eight to ninety two, Orlando eight and thirty six on
the season. With that, let's get in back to our
man in Las Vegas. It's Bernie Freddo all right, thanks Brian.
At this time every week, Chris poer At has a
report from around the world in the world of soccer,

(01:45:05):
and in this particular segment, he's got a topic he'll
be discussing. It's actually relevant to the n b A,
which is the notion of an n season tournament. And
Chris knows better than anybody that European soccer can help
shed some light on the benefits and pitfalls. Yeah, Bernie, Sorry,
I'm like looking for apparently I had a music bet

(01:45:26):
here and I've just completely lost it, so I'm trying
to find uh one second, so I just I Some
of the things I wanted to talk about this week was, um,
you know, we we've one of the I want to
catch up on a couple of stories here before we
get into uh, you know, the tournament. I know, Manchester United,
I mean City, Excuse me. Their big game was on

(01:45:49):
was on Saturday with one nothing win over Chelsea that
might have finally cemented, um, the the the Premier League
title to Manchester City. Yes, even here kind of halfway
through the season. They now have thirteen point lead over Chelsea. Uh, Chelsea,
We've talked about them before, kind of some feuds with
Romelo Lukaku and everything's kind of up in the air

(01:46:12):
with them right now. And uh, I don't know. I
think at this point, the rest of the domestic league
is gonna be starting a jockey for top four positions,
which is important because that's how you get into the
Champions League. And West Ham United might be one of
those big surprises. But there's not too much else to
talk about. But I did want to talk about the
ongoing two cups we have in England, the f A

(01:46:34):
Cup a UH and the e FL Cup, which is
also the Caribou Cup because that's a sponsor energy drink sponsor,
and we just had a f A Cup result. The
f A Cup stills going on for quite a while now,
but we're getting close to the end of the Caribou
at e FL Cup. Arsenal in Liverpool playing on Thursday,
and I believe the other team locked in for that

(01:46:57):
top spot. I believe it is Uh. If I recall
of top of my head, it is Chelsea. So the
winner of the winner of Arsenal, I mean Liverpool and
and Arsenal will take on Chelsea for the Carabout Cup.
So the difference on those two cups is the FL
Cups a bit more of a new cup and it's
just the top two tiers of English soccer, whereas the

(01:47:20):
f A Cup much older. But they've been going on
for a very long time and it's every every club
in in the English system basically gets a crack at
it in the f A Cup and that's what's made
it special. And especially with the NBA looking at their
in season tournament, they can probably take some lessons from it. Now.
Part of the problem is that the f A, I

(01:47:41):
mean NBA doesn't really have the option and a lot
of the magic of the f A Cup has always
been this idea that the smallest can still hang with
the with the with the greatest. That at any given
that on any given day during the f A Cup,
you can probably see a small side kind of rise
up and start to compete with compete with the big boys.

(01:48:03):
The problem is too, though, is that that really hasn't
shown itself in the finals lately. Looking back to the
f A Cup finals, the last one, last club that
has came from outside the premier or the top flight
was in two thousand seven two thousand eight. Cardiff City
was the last one to really kind of join the fray.
Everyone else has played in that top flight, and I

(01:48:25):
think we even had a doubles winner a couple of
years ago with Manchester City. Now you have some teams
kind of in the middle of the of the of
the table that always show up, but it's been kind
of it's been kind of stayed for a while. I
think for the NBA, when you're looking to try to
make this tournament, I guess the matter is who's going
to want to play in this and who's gonna want

(01:48:46):
the steaks for? For a lot of teams in the
in the Premier League, it's very different stakes. There's a
lot of pride that rise on these cops. You want
to win it. But I think as time goes on,
more and more a lot of these clubs are starting
to a more towards Champions League. They want to play
at that top flight. UH. One of the cool things
I know that the Italy, the Coppa Italia does they

(01:49:08):
have something that happened this week for the super Copa
Italiana which was between Internazionelle and Juventus and in an
inter one on that to one, but the super Copa
is basically the winner of Syria their domestic league against
the winner of the Coppa Italia from the past year,
and that kind of that kind of kind of uh

(01:49:29):
goes in with some of the Coppa Italia that happens
during the year as well. But I think the key
for any of these, Bernie is that you're not really
pausing the season when these when the cup tournaments are
going on, they're kind of interspersed throughout the rest of
the rest of the domestic season. And they're kind of
played in the middle of the week. It's it's a
part of the structure of soccer and that your domestic

(01:49:50):
your domestic matches are once a week, but also in
the middle of the week you are going to have
stuff like Champions League Europa, the f A Cup, b
FL Cup and other tournaments. And I've viously now in
a World Cup year, plenty of international competition the World
Cup year. Yeah, that's what I want to close on.
What's interesting is we're not kidding, it's really a year.
It's not gonna end until December eighteen, so I've got

(01:50:13):
ah that's when the finals are got and the Africa
and the Africa Cup of Nations, which has World Cup implications,
is on right now. It's very exciting. I know, um,
I believe Egypt just pulled out a big win. Nigeria
I think is uh it very close to advancing if
they haven't advanced already. So there's and you know, there's
great players coming out of the Africa region for for

(01:50:36):
FIFA at this point. We've talked about in the past
about Mohammed Sala and other players. So like there's plenty
to watch in the Africa Cup of Nations. Good stuff, Chris,
and you know Christophy back in this slot again next
week bringing us the latest around the world of soccer,
and there will be a lot to report this year
as again we are in a World Cup year, and
I promise you I covered the World Cup ninety four.

(01:50:59):
It came to the United States. The final swore in
the Rose Bowl, but I got to cover the games
at the Silver Heel, Silver Dome and Ponty acting there amazing.
All right, good stuff Chris, coming up, we wrap up
the show. You know him, you love mcnley without him,
and he's twenty six and thirteen on his prop bets,
so if you climbed on his back, Mac and Ow
Sports McKenzie rivers twenty six and thirteen. The quick math

(01:51:22):
in my head leads me to believe that's about my
goodness about six and uh mackenzie will have three prop
bets for us for NFL Super Wildcards Sunday, one for
each time slot in each game tomorrow, so keep it locked.
That'll be coming up in just a second. I'm Bernie

(01:51:43):
Friddow Company Life and Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio Studios.
Don't go away. You're listening to Fox Sports Sunday on
Fox Sports Radio. Now we're back on Fox Sports Sunday,
Fox Sports Radio. I'm Bernie Friddock, Company Life for the
Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio Studios. Seven hours and thirteen
minutes away from the resumption of NFL Super wild Card weekend.

(01:52:06):
And in a minute we'll get to Macina on Sports.
But before I go any further, I want to thank
my broadcast team back in Los Angeles, Chris po Fett,
Bryan Finley, bol Benson, turning all the dials, keeping us
glued together so we can bring this fine show to
a great flul nation. Could not do the show without you, guys. Teamwork, teamwork, teamwork,
all right, you know what I mean. Love mccandley without him.
If you've been listening during the NFL football season, you're

(01:52:29):
twenty six and thirteen on Profets and so mackenzie, We've
got three games here coming up. It's starting just a
few hours and as per usual, you'll have a prop
play for each of the respective time slots, and we
begin the first game Philly visits Tampa Bay. Yes, we

(01:52:49):
talked about this in the last hour. Philadelphia the worst
team against other playoff teams. Here's just some of the
stats over six straight up one for five a t
scoring twenty two points per game, giving up thirty six.
That's minus nine points against the number. I'm gonna keep
it simple here. We're a prop betting show, at least

(01:53:11):
this is a prop betting segment. But I like the
Buccaneers to win easy. What happened last game, they got
up twenty eight to seven, and because sometimes these things
happen in the NFL, a couple of late touchdowns that
didn't matter, Eagles covered the spread barely. Well, we're not
gonna let that happen. We're gonna go Tampa Bay minus
four in the first half. QB experience with the most

(01:53:33):
experience versus a second near quarterback that's still trying to
find his way into the league. I see one way
traffic early. That's why I'm going with the Buccaneers minus
four in the first half. Not to put you on
the spot, but is you're a prop In terms of
running yards for uh Jalen Hurts, Sure, yes, I believe,
and I haven't checked this in the last couple of minutes,

(01:53:55):
but around fifty eight and a half a season average,
that's a big that's a big number. He ran for
seven and eighty four yards, but given the weather, which
I think it's been overblown. The larger issue is I
think they put him in a vice. I don't think
they let him loose. They might put a spine and
I don't know if I want to, you know, I
don't know what's your thoughts are if you want to
take a look at the under on that. As we know,
I'm not a prop guy, but I think they're gonna

(01:54:15):
make life very hard on Jalen Hurts. Okay, so first
prop better the day Mackenzie. You like the first half
Campa Bay minus four? Is that the Is that the
going lines at the market line? Yes, that is the
market line. Shop around as always might get a minus
four minus one oh five a little less big. By
the way, on the prop you mentioned, I do kind
of think that Vida Vella just got his big sign

(01:54:38):
that Front seven what they do the first three quarters
to any team number one E p A and rush
defense in the first three quarters when they really prioritize it. Yes,
I think that Front seven keeping Hurts under the fifty
eight and a half is not a bad play at all.
You might be a prop guru for all we know, Bernie,
it's entirely possible. It is entirely possible. I'm not rolling

(01:54:58):
it out for the second prop. I'm gonna go with
my San Francisco forty Niners. Their wide receiver Deebo Samuel
over twenty eight rushing yards. This is very simple. It
was about midway through the season when another running back
had gone down for the forty Niners and they just figured,
how can we sustain a reliable back? Well, what's our

(01:55:22):
number one playmaker, a number one guy with the ball
in his hands that we want to see. Well, let's
make him at least the part time back. In the
last eight games, Deebo Samuel, wide receiver for the forty Niners,
has averaged forty three rushing yards and has gone over
this number of twenty eight seven out of the last
eight games. Now, let's look at the matchup. The Dallas

(01:55:42):
Cowboys love to get after you. They prioritize not stop
in the five yard plays, but creating big, big defensive
impact plays, interceptions with digs, sacks with parsons, and lawrence
disruptive plays. Well, the forty Niners have designed their entire
off fence to get you thinking. One thing and then

(01:56:02):
having Samuel come around the other way with the misdirection.
I think it's the perfect defense for Deebo Samuel to
get loose and start. Sometimes it's just one on one.
Ten guys on the forty nineers go one way and
Deebo Samuel works around the corner. I think he's the
perfect guy and the Cowboys are the perfect setup for
that particular matchup. I think he gets fifty rushing yards.

(01:56:24):
This is only twenty eight and a half. We are
going over Deebo Samuel rushing yards, and I think he
could get it into one carry. First of all, not
only is Diebo Samuel I consider to be a world
class athlete, he's got great vision as a runner. I
mean he's terrific. When you get him in the open
field and you get him to the second level, you
only he's one of those guys when he takes the
ball and turns the corner, you almost feel like he

(01:56:45):
could take it to the house anytime. Let me ask
you a quick question about that. Though all of those
all the averages you mentioned that Diebo Samuel is accumulated,
how many carries does he get a game? It seems
like it's about two or three he's is that or
is it more than that? It's a lot more than that.
I mean historically, Yeah, that's about Deebo Samuel gets one
or two reverses a game. But I'm telling you the

(01:57:06):
last eight games he's been a different player. The receiver
tag that he has on his on on the roster
is probably incorrect at this point. It should be w
R slash HB. He's getting like eight carries a game nowadays. Okay,
that's good knowledge. I didn't know it was that high,
and it is very worthy of it because you talk
about the jet sweep and the misdirection, counters traps. Yeah,

(01:57:28):
and I for what it's worth McKenzie, I actually think
that the Niners will have success running the ball just
in general against Dallas. So that's a good problem. All right,
So we've got the first prop at Tampa Bay first
half minus four Dallas. Check that, Deebo Samuel more over

(01:57:48):
rushing yards, rushing yards? All right? The five fifteen game
Pacific Gate fifteen Pittsburgh Business Kansas City. What are you
like in that? We are going with Patrick Mahomes over
eighteen and a half rushing yards the Pittsburgh Steelers and
t J. Watt have forest quarterbacks out of the pocket
over and over this season, number four in rushing yards

(01:58:09):
allowed to quarterbacks in over twenty four a game. And
it's pretty simple that in the quarter in the playoffs,
we just saw Josh Allen have the game of his life.
He's gone over his rushing prop all but one game
in his career. Patrick Mahomes is over going over his
rushing pop in his career. There's about four games that
matter in the whole rest of the year up until

(01:58:30):
next September. They prioritize doing what they have to do
these quarterbacks in the playoffs spot when t J. Watts
around the corner, he's not laying up. Patrick Mahomes will
be sticking his neck out, trying to get everything he can.
Even as a twelve point favorite. I still think that
mindset of this is do or die will be in
his heart and I think that's why he goes over

(01:58:52):
only nineteen rushing yards right around his season average. Alright,
good stuff, and Cancie I agree, it's Katie bar the door.
Mahomes will not hesitate to take off and run. Uh.
The Niners will utilize Deeble Samuel over twenty eight yards
and of course Tampa Bay in the first half against
what we believe is an over match Philadelphia Eagle team
minus four but Kenzie twenty six and thirteen on profits.

(01:59:13):
All right, thanks for listening, folks. On Bernie Fratto, this
