Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
There is no excuse for Josh Allen in these NFL playoffs,
But as we watch the AFC Divisional Round, the first
game of Divisional weekend, he may have just put him
and his team in a position that's going to be
difficult to get out of. Welcome in on this Fox
(00:26):
Sports Saturday. We've got Steve Hartman hanging out with us
for Jason Fitz who is attending a charity event tonight.
So FITZI off doing some good Steve, appreciate you sitting in.
We got football on the TV. As we get to halftime,
twenty to ten for the Denver Broncos at home leading
the Buffalo Bills. But Josh Allen, desperation mode, goes to
(00:49):
scramble to his left, fumbles with just a few seconds
remaining in the first half of this game, and Will
Lutz drills a fifty yard field goal to give Denver
that ten point advantage. This game is going to be interesting. Then,
I wonder what you make of this spot for the
Buffalo Bills as they head in trailing by ten at
(01:11):
half times.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
Well, Buck, first of all, before these this week of
games got underway, I said, look, there are two quarterbacks
to stand out of these eight teams, and that's Josh
Allen and Matthew Stafford. I mean, we got a lot
of unknowns here. This is a rematch. Remember from the
playoffs last year the Bills beat the Broncos. And to me,
the big question going into this game wasn't so much
(01:32):
Josh Allen is about bo Knicks. I mean, is bo
Nicks going to be able to avoid making costly mistakes
They could cost a team that has an outstanding defense.
And so far the mistakes have been on Buffalo's side.
They have a fumble by James Cook and now the
fumble by Josh Allen, and both of those fumbles have
resulted in points for the Broncos.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
So advantage Broncos here. And I'm with you.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
I mean there are no excuses, are Josh Allen. I
mean if you look at the other three quarterback on
the AFC Ledger, you know you want to compare resumes.
There is no comparison. You got Drake May, you got c. J. Stroud,
you got bow Knicks. This is his golden opportunity because
he doesn't have to go through Patrick Mahomes. Remember he's
(02:15):
all in four against Mahomes eight and two against everybody
else in his postseason career. So I mean, if they
do go on to lose this game to Denver, it
could be catastrophic and it could be the last chance
he really has of actually making it to the Big Dance.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Thirteen of twenty three for one hundred and fifty yards
and two touchdown passes as bow knicks in the first half,
he's got a rating of one oh five point three.
So if you were banking on bo knicks or skeptical
of bow knicks, so far, he's showing up and delivering
and my god, Steve this Broncos defense and we'll get
into the other playoff game. So at the course of
(02:53):
the weekend, they're not the only fearsome defense in this postseason,
and not even on the AFC, just on the AFC
side with Houston and New England getting ready to square
off tomorrow. But this is the kind of stuff that
the Bills could not afford to have. It's really not
that complicated, even though we spend all this time, all
(03:14):
week long, all season long breaking down these games and
the different elements of them. If you turn the ball
over on the road against the defense like this one,
you're gonna pay And that's exactly what the Broncos are
doing to them.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
So two weeks ago before the playoffs began, I was
asking our crew on.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
End Zone Radio.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
I said, can anybody hear in vision either Bonnicks or
Sam Darnald the quarterbacks of the two number one Seeds
hoisting little Bardi Trophy.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
At the end of the season.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Unanimously, No, No, can't picture it.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
And so that's sort of the X factor here, right.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
I mean, you know, Bonnicks, Sam Darnold, number one Seeds
get the buye. Are they the kind of quarterbacks that
can navigate all the way to the end and hoist
at Lombardi Trophy? So you know, it's interesting. I know
we're going to talking a little about this John Harbrough
situation with the Giants right now.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
Sean Payton.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
I got to meet Sean Payton, ironically about when he
was suspended. So for four straight years, three straight years,
when I was doing the national Monday through Friday show
here at Fox Sports Radio, they would send us to
the Zurik Golf Classic, which is in New Orleans, and
we got to hang out during that year he was suspended,
(04:38):
and I will say this.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
You know from Afar, I wasn't always really a Sean
Payton guy.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
They didn't when he had talked to the guy, he
had good sense of humor and everything else. In light
of what was happening, of course he would get reinstated
as the Saints coach. But you look at what he's
done the last two years in Denver with a rookie quarterback,
and it's impressive. I mean, this Broncos team three years
ago Buck was an hourbsolute mess and they had been
a mess ever since winning that last Super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (05:05):
And how he's turned this thing around, I.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
Mean, it elevates his resume, which is already borderline Hall
of Fame. And if they get to the Super Bowl,
if they win a Super Bowl, he can punch us
take it into Canton. So I'm just really impressed how
Sean Payne has put it all together in Denver.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
It's the difference that quality coaching can make, and of
course there's no one thing that can put your NFL
team over the top. East Steve Hartman, by the way,
I'm Buck Rising. We're hanging out here with you from
the Fox Sports studios. By the way, you can hang

I mean, that's what nine NFL franchises are trying to
(06:04):
figure out. The Giants were the ninth or I guess
the first off the board, with John Harbaugh officially agreeing
to his contract today even though they've been working through
the details of this for the better part of three days.
What is the different the difference making factor that a
head coach can make in an NFL franchise's future. To
(06:26):
your point about what Sean Payton has done in Denver
since being with them for these past three seasons and
the regular season alone, He's fifty one and thirty two
over a six hundred winning percentage at this point in time,
he hand picked bo Nicks to be that quarterback. To
your point, Steve, because he understood that while all of
(06:48):
the talking heads around draft coverage and things like that
may not have deemed Bonicks worthy of the twelfth overall
pick in the NFL draft, that that was what Sean
Payton needed, and so that made Bnicks worth that draft pick,
that high of a draft pick to him because he
felt that he could win with that player. A coach
who comes in understands how to build a program, understands
(07:10):
the kind of players he needs to make this thing succeed.
I mean, for God's sakes, I know we're going to
talk about the National Championship Game on Monday a little
bit in this show, and Signetti is doing a different
version of a similar thing at the college level, where
it's not necessarily just about having the most talented players.
It's about what you can realize for the talent that
(07:31):
you have and how well you can bond them together
as a team throughout the course of any one given season.
Sean Payton has done that excellently in Denver. Now the
question is ken John Harbaugh, who did it well for
so many years in Baltimore until this last season where
things apparently have started to fray between him and the
(07:51):
organization that he was with the Baltimore Ravens for eighteen years,
maybe a little bit of disagreement between Lamar Jackson and
the offensive coordinator at the time, Todd Munkin. So John
Harbaugh going to take his talents to New York who
have targeted him from the very very start. And I wonder,
Steve One, why do you think it took so long
(08:13):
to get the details ironed out on this thing? Because
I feel like New York has been holding its collective
breath since Thursday.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Well, I'm going to make a prediction right now, Buck,
I believe that John Harball will do for the Giants
what Pete Carroll did for the Raiders.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
John Harkley.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
John Harbaugh is one of the most overrated coaches in
the NFL. He's a great guy. Everyone loves John Harbaugh.
Here's reality. He has won a total of three playoff
games in the last eleven years, and in eight of
those years he had a two time MVP quarterback. You
want to compare that to Mike Tomlin. You want to
compare Lamar Jackson to any quarterback over the last seven
(08:54):
or eight years, you know, a Decaine, Ben Roethlisberger and
everything that came after that. In Pittsburgh and by the way,
My Tomlin owned John Harby. Every time the Steelers had
a big matchup against the Ravens, Steelers would come out
on top. John Harbaugh goes into New York and basically
demands everything, Why shouldn't you hey, if you want me
so bad? I won twenty million a year and I
(09:14):
won total control of the player personnel. That was the
hang up because they have a general manager and he's like, no, no, no,
I'm not going to cater to the head coach. They
have the finals say, because when you think about it,
John Harby had one of the most respected personnel people
(09:34):
in the history of the NFL, and aws he knews them.
When John Harbaugh first got to the Ravens, he was
handed one of the great defenses of all time, led
by Hall of famers Ray Lewis and Ed Reid. Future
Hall of Famer Terrell sucks. When those guys left, Ravens
weren't the same team. And so again we're talking about
a coach over the last eleven seasons that's won a
(09:59):
total of three playoff games. He should have been fired
on the field after mishandling that AFC Championship game at
home against the Chiefs where he was standing on the
sidelines when what Lamar Jackson's trying to outdo Patrick Mahomes
throwing the football. So look, it comes down to organizations.
He was in a really solid organization to Baltimore Ravens,
(10:21):
with great front office personnel, people that understood how to
draft properly. Think about this, the very first Baltimore Ravens
draft after they left Cleveland, they had two first round picks.
Speaker 4 (10:33):
One of them was Jonathan Ogden, the other was ray
Lewis first ballot Hall of Famers.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
So he has been in one of the great steady
organizations in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
Now he's going to the Giants. So I got to repeat.
Speaker 3 (10:45):
Myself, John Harbaugh will do for the Giants what Pete
Carroll did for the Raiders.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
Giants fans very very displeased with that level of analysis,
But that's I love the points that you're making Steve
for a couple of different reasons here, because of the
organization and what he is now going to oversee, which
is an organization that he wants more control of, and
the fact that they took so long to get this
(11:13):
deal done. I've been texting a handful of people in
the NFL about this, because I'm here in Tennessee. My
day to day is covering the Tennessee Titans. They were
ready to fly to John Harbaugh and give him a
contract in his living room because they are so thirsty
for the kind of thing that they think he will
bring to any organization, specifically their organization, which is just
(11:37):
generally that demeanor of CEO somebody who is capable of
managing a championship caliber program.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
But the question is is.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
John Harbaugh going to be that same kind of effective
if you put him in a less stable organization. The Giants,
for God's sakes, they're taking several days to iron out
details on the contract after having agreed to a deal,
because the Giants are taking them out to dinner. I'm certain,
having talked to enough people about this, that certain conditions
(12:08):
were made, or basically, he was asking about the level
of control that he would be able to have, and
at dinner they're talking about, Yeah, we'll give you whatever
you want. Let's just get this deal done. Baby, don't
leave New York without signing the contract, and instead they
go back to ownership that's not copasetic, So they have
to take a couple of days to work through this,
(12:30):
which immediately is giving you those kind of red flags
about the level of alignment in the organization. Why is
everybody not from start to finish on the same page.
How on earth could you know that this is what
you wanted to do. Streamline your interviewing process to where
you're the first ones to complete the Rooney Rule qualifications
about two in person interviews with minority candidates, be ready
(12:53):
to go, and then still find a way to bog
this down. It's immediate red flags that we're seeing in
New York. It's not a good sign.
Speaker 4 (13:00):
Well it's not. And that's the whole point.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
Now, when I make the comparison to Pete Carroll, this
is not to say that Pete Carroll forgot how to coach.
Pete Carroll's a tremendous coach and he's proven it on
the collegiate level and the professional level. But when you
go to an organization, and of course Buck, you know,
I have a history with the Raiders back in my
day working as the PR guy for the LA Raiders
(13:24):
back in the nineteen eighties, so I know the Raiders
very well.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
I know Mark Davis very well. Was his number is
in my phone.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
It is.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
It's a joke. I mean, it's a joke of an organization.
And then they leaned on Tom Brady so they you know,
there was some talk to maybe the Raiders could convince
Ben Johnson to come to the Raiders. No, no, no,
We'll go with Pete Carroll right there.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
And and by the way, Tom Brady said, you know,
Chip Kelly's a good fit.
Speaker 4 (13:48):
I think so.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
And let's forget that Sam Darnold got Let's go for
Gino Smith because he has a history of Pete Carroll.
Speaker 4 (13:53):
Every single move they made was wrong.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
And Pete Carroll walks the plank, you know, unfortunately puts
staying at the end of his record and could cost
him with a Hall of Fame spot someday. So I
look at I again. John Harbaugh is not a guy
that should be running an organization.
Speaker 4 (14:12):
What is his expertise?
Speaker 3 (14:14):
It's not offense, you know, I mean, they he has
to surround himself with the right people. Is Jackson Dart
really the future quarterback for the Giants or do they
have to go back and start over again. And what
obviously is a very weak draft for quarterbacks. I just
don't see any kind of major turnaround. And John Harbaugh
isn't that guy. And I'm gonna repeat myself, the last.
Speaker 4 (14:38):
Eleven years he's only won three playoff games.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
Three.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
That doesn't sound like some juggernaut. Hey boy, you hire
John Harby, it's not like hiring Jim Harbaugh, who is
you know, just instantly won everywhere he goes. That's not
who John Harbaugh is. So unless they surround themselves with
some immense coaching talent and really bolster that roster, the
Giants are going to be no better off than they
(15:07):
were with than they were with it what four coaches
whatever five coaches they had over ten years, ever since
Tom Kaughlin left. So it's an organization in disarray and
I just do not see John Harbaugh as the kind
of coach that can fix it.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
Well, we know that New York and any job associated
with New York City comes with a tremendous amount of pressure.
But given that we are getting ready to watch the
halftime or the second half of this AFC Divisional matchup
between the Broncos hosting the Bills, We're going to talk
about how much pressure is on Josh Allen.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
He's Steve Hartman, I'm buck Rising.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Welcome back on this Fox Sports Saturday. He's Steve Hartman
filling in for Jason Fitz, who's there educating the people.
I'm Buck Rising here with you watching this first round
of the AFC Divisional Weekend. Twenty Three to ten is
the score in favor of the home team, Denver Broncos
(16:53):
against the Buffalo Bills, who have turned it over twice,
who have put themselves in disadvantageous position, and now the
pressure is on Josh Allen even more than it was
before this game kicked off. Steve, we were just talking
Ian and I in the commercial break. Are great producer,
Ian and Mary hanging out back there in Los Angeles
(17:16):
with you. The idea of the line these for any
NFL player, for any figure in sports who is viewed
to have not yet met expectation, the line between explanation
for why they have not achieved at that level versus
when that crosses over into excuse making. But there is
(17:36):
no excuse making for Josh Allen today or this Buffalo
Bills team where they're just missing opportunities. James Cook dropping
a pass there, getting a little bit of alligator arms.
This Denver defense is making them feel it on every
snap of this game in front of a raucous home crowd.
Josh Allen's got a lot of work to do in
(17:58):
this game. As we get into the third quarter.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
He does.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
And look, one of the reasons I'm riding Buffalo is
because my preseason pick here at Fox Sports Radio was
the Buffalo Bills to finally crash through and win a
Super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (18:11):
Of course, last year I picked the Cowboys to win
the Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
So you see my track record, Buck is not very
good in these kind of prognostications. But look, the fact
is is that overall the roster talent for this Buffalo
team is not where it was a couple of years ago.
I know, James Cook had a upbreakout year led the
NFL in rushing yards, but overall, this is not a
great Buffalo team. In fact, in a lot of ways,
(18:35):
this year's Bills team really mirrored what the Eagles did
this year, you know, teams that sort of seemed to
show up when they had to, you know, to sort
of win a game to you know, you know, eventually
get into the postseason with the idea being, yeah, once
we get to the postseason, we're going to be good.
Speaker 4 (18:51):
And it just doesn't work that way.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
And so the way this game is going right now,
it does not look good for the Bills. They need
to score on this drive.
Speaker 4 (19:00):
Right now here, Buck, you know, you're down.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
Thirteen already, and they need to get in the end
zone and get to a one score game. And then
if they do that, then you know, then we can
start thinking about the end of the game, and that
that's where it's going to come down to. But as
far as Josh Allen is concerned, you know, I disagree
on this. One point is that when you think about
I know he was a first round draft pick, but
(19:24):
I don't know how many games you caught up his
at Wyoming, but there was nothing that I saw Wyoming
where he was like a fifty five percent passer that
would tell me that this guy would be a future
MVP in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
Nothing.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
You know, I thought, Okay, he's a great physical specimen,
but he's not that kind of quarterback. I mean, you
got to be able to throw the ball accurate. Brian Dable,
he was able to refine his skills and all of
a sudden he was clicking as a passer. You know,
he's a leader. I don't think there's any question about that.
I just don't think he has a great supporting cast
right now, especially on the defensive side of the football.
(19:59):
And remember this is a Denver defense, by the way,
second against the run this year, and already the Bills
have over one hundred yards on the ground, so they're
actually running the ball pretty well. But you know, when
you talk quarterbacks, and I don't know about you, Buck
It always bothers me when you, like, you go to
Football Reference and you see the one lost record of
quarterbacks as a starter. Why isn't that with every position.
(20:22):
They're not a pitcher, and it's not like a pitcher.
You know, he gets a win, a loss, and no decision.
How do quarterbacks get attached to wins and losses and
no other player does. I mean, football is the consummate
team sport. All the pieces have to be working, and
you know it's been an inconsistent ride all.
Speaker 4 (20:40):
Season long for these Buffalo Bills.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
So you know, in some ways, Josh Allen, at least
in my mind, has exceeded expectations.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
I never envisioned he'd be this kind of a player.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
But if he falls short, if he never makes it
to a super Bowl, I mean, I remember Jim Kelly,
you know, gets to a Hall of Fambia.
Speaker 4 (20:56):
Like that guy was a loser.
Speaker 3 (20:57):
No, he was the only quarterback ever to lead his
team to four st rate Super Bowls. Still is the
only quarterback ever to lead his team to four consecutive
Super Bowls. That's all of fame in my book, Josh Allen,
if he never gets to a super Bowl, it's not enough.
I mean, he's got to at least get to a
Super Bowl, and obviously he needs to win a Super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (21:18):
No.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
I like the context there, because you're right, he was
a total projection as an NFL draft pick, and in fact,
I think he because of the unbelievable strides that he's
made in his career from what he was at Wyoming
to what he's become now is one of the best
players in terms of what he can do in structure
(21:39):
and also the mad Max element of his game right
where he can just turn it on. He's bigger, faster,
and stronger than you, and he can make plays outside
of their offense that are going to give you additional
opportunities to win. Right, what we just describe as clutch
or playmaking or however you want to generalize it. Now,
he's driving at this point in time, he's got the
Bills inside the red zone, and he's doing it. To
(22:01):
your point with basically you and me and Khalil Shakur
at wide receiver because everybody else has torn their acl
so far for the Bill's wide receiving core. I mean,
what they came in with is the fact that he's
able to develop any kind of chemistry with Brandon Cook
so quickly, who was a late addition to their roster,
is a tribute to both of them and the professionalism
that they bring. But this is the thing, Steve, like Denver,
(22:24):
is not a pushover. And whatever we have thought, our
preconceived notions of bow knicks, he's changed the game in
terms of his tendencies today, where we're accustomed to the
Broncos and their offense starting slow bow knicks kind of
being a bit clunky out of the gate. In fact,
fifteen of the seventeen games, this is courtesy of CBS
(22:45):
Sports Line, fifteen of the seventeen games that the Broncos
played in the regular season they trailed in so far
this year, and eleven of the fourteen wins where by
one score as the Bills score a touchdown to at
least close that margin a little bit, sixteen to twenty three.
Speaker 3 (23:02):
That's a pretty impressive touchdown by Coleman right there, fully
extended over the last three or four yards, need to
not hit the ground, so he gets in the ends on.
This is why just talking about Buck, I mean they
need to answer. And now all of a sudden, it's
a six point game, so this This gets back to
the leadership qualities of a Josh Allen. I'll put it
this way and by the way, in this game, Josh
(23:24):
Allen is thirteen to sixteen hundred and thirty nine yards,
two touchdowns and no picks. He did have a costly
fumble before the half, the result in three points for Denver,
but he's always got forty three yards on the ground.
But you know, if they do navigate it this year.
You know, if they do win today in Denver, they're
going to be on the road, whether it's Houston or
New England next week. This is a golden opportunity for
(23:48):
Josh Allen, it really is.
Speaker 4 (23:49):
I mean, he has the experience. We know he's a
guy that's going to battle all the way to the end.
If the chips fall in his favor, this could go
down as that rounding achievement year for Josh Allen.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
After having just won his first postseason game on the
road against the quality Jacksonville Jaguars team. We'll keep you
updated on everything that's going on in this AFC Divisional
round and we'll also get you ready for tonight's big
game as well as we get into the full NFL
playoff season effect. And we're also going to talk about
the best NFL head coaching jobs that are currently available,
(24:27):
with John Harball filling that Giants role here in just
a second. But first, Martin, get us caught up on
everything that's happening in sports.
Speaker 6 (24:35):
Well, you guys just told a lot of it. Keyon
Coleman to the end zone. Twenty three to seventeen. The
Denver Broncos over the Buffalo Bills. But Buffalo with a
little bit of a second half, well, I can't even
say second half. A good third quarter drive. Josh Allen
had two bad fumble and then another the bad turnovers
at the end of the first half that added to
another Denver field goal. Bo Knicks with fourteen for twenty four.
(24:58):
He's got two touchdowns through the one of them to
offensive tackle Frank Crumb. They ran six offensive linemen out there.
I'm sure that's exactly how everybody drew it up. The
other one. Now, the other touchdown pass the little Jordan Humphrey.
Nothing really on the ground for Denver so far, fifty
nine yards rushing on fourteen carries. Bon Nicks, they're leading
(25:20):
rusher with twenty nine carries. I mean twenty nine yards.
Josh Allens thirteen for sixteen with two touchdown passes. James
took thirteen carries for seventy yards. Those two touchdown passes
mcole Hardman and the other one just now to Keon Coleman,
who had dropped the touchdown pass earlier in this game.
What it called call back for a holding penalty anyway,
but still good to see Keon getting into the end
(25:41):
zone after he was a healthy scratch for a few
games this year. Sam Darnold is active as expected in
tonight's game the Seahawks and the forty nine Ers. Trent
Williams has no injury designation in that matchup.
Speaker 4 (25:54):
Ricky Piers all questionable.
Speaker 6 (25:56):
Looks like he's going to be able to go with
that injury, that one coming up later tonight.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
Boys.
Speaker 6 (26:00):
But by seven minutes left in the third quarter, Denver
with a twenty three to seven to lead over Buffalo
and receiving the ball back to you, guys.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
He's Steve Hartman, I'm Buck Rising. We're hanging out here
with you on this Fox Sports Saturday, and we're getting
ready to have a conversation about the best available job
now that John Harbaugh has just filled the New York
Giants head coaching vacancy quickly, Though'll be sure to subscribe
to the Fox Sports Radio YouTube channel. Just search Fox
Sports Radio on YouTube and you'll see our best videos
(26:32):
from all of the shows. And don't stop there. Hit
that thumbs up icon and comment away. Let us know
who's takes you liking, even who takes you don't like.
Just search Fox Sports Radio on YouTube and subscribe. So
there were nine vacancies by the time the Miami Dolphins
finally got around to moving on from Mike McDaniel. We
(26:54):
know that Mike Tomlin stepped down from the Pittsburgh Steelers
after they just got their butts ripped against the Houston
Texans defense in the wildcard round. Steve and so, as
we sit here with these eight available jobs, Ravens, Steelers, Browns,
three quarters of the AFC North, the Falcons, the Dolphins,
the Cardinals, the Titans here in Nashville where I am,
(27:16):
and of course the Las Vegas Raiders. As we talked
about a little bit earlier, of those eight remaining head
coaching vacancies, which job do you believe to be the
best for a potential head coach?
Speaker 3 (27:28):
It's not even close buckets the Ravens. I mean, how
many teams will afford you a two time MVP quarterback who,
by the way, doesn't even turn thirty until twenty twenty seven.
Speaker 4 (27:41):
So I mean it's very rare that you have.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
On top of what I talked about earlier with John Harbough,
this is one of the steady organizations in the NFL.
So they have elite front office people, you have a
two time MVP quarterback, you have talent the under gee
because their quarterback, their coach wasn't any good. I can't
harp on Josh Horber enough because I've been saying it
(28:06):
all season long. I said it before the season. John
Harver is the most overrated coach in the NFL. Nicest
guy you're ever gonna meet, overrated coach. But you know
the Ravens clearly.
Speaker 4 (28:17):
And by the way, if you're looking for longevity in
a job which never happens, how about the Steelers.
Speaker 3 (28:22):
They've had three coaches since nineteen sixty nine, So whether
it was Chuck Nol or Bill Kauer or Mike Tomlin. Hey,
if you get the Steeler job, you're good for what
fifteen years? Fifteen to twenty years? So that would certainly
be a job that I would be really interested again
with the Rooney family running the show, very steady, an
(28:45):
operation that knows how to get the job done. So look,
if I'm one of these elite coaching candidates, whether I'm
a recycled job or a new young guy looking for
an opportunity, I want to go to an organization that
has a proven track record of stability, and that obviously
is the Ravens who just let go their coach had
(29:08):
been there for eighteen years, and the Steelers who allowed
Mike Tomlin to quote unquote step aside after nineteen years.
So those two jobs, by far are the most attractive
jobs on the board.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
Right now, we.
Speaker 2 (29:21):
Have our first bone knicks turnover of this game between
the Bills and the Broncos, an interception thrown by the
young quarterback to a defensive lineman. I believe that's Dion Walker,
number ninety six of the Buffalo Bills. And now Josh
Allen and company take over at the thirty six yard line.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
Yeah, that wasn't a good play there. Nothing like a
quick pass that loses you a quick four yards right
out of the box, and it was almost intercepted just
a horrible play call by the Bills. But this is
what we're talking about. Ken Bow Nicks hold it together.
And if this comes down to a final drive, buck
on who's going to.
Speaker 4 (29:59):
Win the game?
Speaker 3 (30:01):
Who would you rather see in control? Josh Allen or
bon Nicks.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
I think that answer would be very easily answered by
the vast majority of football consumers at this point in time.
But just to kind of keep it with the head
coaching conversation, and as I mentioned, we'll keep you updated
should Buffalo score or how this drive ends for the
Bills who are in desperate need of points trailing twenty
three to seventeen in the second half, in the waning
(30:26):
minutes of the third quarter, the patients in Baltimore, the
organizational structure, Oh, an interception there for.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
Just so Josh Allen just throws the pick right back
to the Bros. And this is not a good pass.
I mean a lazy pass over a deep middle shot
and you just can't do that. That's three turnovers for
the Bills on the road against a good team, the Broncos,
(30:54):
and that's how you lose games like this.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
That's a killer, an absolute killer. Josh Allen has to
be Burius with himself as he slams his helmet heading
back over to the bench after he was given a
gift by the Broncos offense. We'll see how patience holds
up in Buffalo at this point in time. Patience is
something that you mentioned, certainly with the Steelers and the Ravens,
right eighteen years for John Harbaugh, nineteen years for Mike Tomlin.
(31:20):
But the thing about Baltimore that makes this a fascinating
case study, and I of course agree with you that
this is the most attractive job. Lamar Jackson, at his
still young age, is dealing with a lot of health
stuff here lately. I don't love the idea of him working.
Having to work through a bad back doesn't mean that
that's going to be something that carries over.
Speaker 1 (31:38):
Hell.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
Matt Stafford, we could even find him during training camp
because he kept spending all the time, all this time
and these recovery facilities trying to make sure that his
back was operable this year. And he may be the
NFL's MVP this season. The patience, though, seems to be
waning in Baltimore because of the caliber of talent that
Lamar Jackson is and they just keep him hitting their
(32:00):
heads on this ceiling, whether it be in the postseason
or the regular season. I wonder how much less patient
that Baltimore job is gonna feel for the next person
who takes over for John Harbaugh.
Speaker 3 (32:11):
Well, and here's the thing, Buck, You bring up a
great point, by the way, about Lamar Jackson just staying healthy.
And when you're a quarterback that leans on running the
football as much as a Lamar Jackson does.
Speaker 4 (32:21):
We can go over it.
Speaker 3 (32:22):
Whether it was Randall Cunnyham back in the day or
Cam Newton. You know, quarterbacks would like to go to
the run. They're not gonna have the same long careers
as classic pocket passers like a Tom Brady.
Speaker 4 (32:34):
Or Peyton Manning or Drew Brees. So you know that
is a question.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
And the other question, obviously for the Ravens organization, is
how much money you're gonna pay Lamar Jackson. You're gonna
pay him seventy million dollars a year. Remember, Lamar doesn't
have an agent. He's never had an agent, so he's
he's a smart guys. I've never had an agent in
this business either, and I've always told people my agent
gets one hundred percent of my paycheck.
Speaker 4 (32:55):
I like it. It works out great for me.
Speaker 3 (32:58):
But you know, I interesting to see what the organization
is thinking in terms of the future of Lamar Jackson.
I say the same thing with the Bengals because they
don't spend any money. Are they shopping Joe Burrow? Are
they going to make that kind of commitment for a
guy like Joe Burrow? The financial commitment sixty seventy million
dollars a year that remains to be seen. So yeah,
(33:21):
that's that would be my first question though. If I'm
interviewing for the Ravens job is am I Do I
have a commitment from this organization the Lamar Jackson is
going to be my quarterback for the next five years.
Because if you can't one hundred percent guarantee me he
is going to be my quarterback, well, then obviously the
conversation is going to change in a totally different direction.
Speaker 2 (33:43):
The conversation that we're going to have next as we
keep tabs on this Broncos Bills game with you, is
about the National Championship game taking place in Miami. The
University of Miami not technically the host team, even though
it is their home stadium against the Indiana Hoosiers the
best story in all of sports this year. I'm gonna
ask Steve why on earth he thinks Indiana is such
(34:06):
a heavy favorite over a very talented Miami team Coming
up next on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
Team of Destiny is how the Indiana Hoosiers have been
described so far this season under Kurtzignetti quarterback by Fernando Mendoza,
A very Cuban flavored National Championship game between Mendoza and
Mario Christobal, the coach of Miami.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
This upstart Hurricane team.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
That, as far as brands go, would not be considered
a Cinderella given their pedigree. But it's been a long
time since Miami's played in a game exactly like this,
and it will all go down on Monday night in
hard Rock Stadium in Miami, between the Hoosiers and the
Hurricanes Indiana. Though, Steve, as we sit here on this
Fox Sports Saturday, he's Steve Hartman. I'm Buck Rising hanging
(35:03):
out with you. Steve, kind enough to fill in for
Jason Fitz who's doing little charity work this evening. Indiana
opens up as an eight and a half point favorite
over this Miami Hurricanes team. I'm gonna be at this game.
I went to Indiana. I still can't believe the idea
that the Indiana Hoosiers are playing for a national championship.
And I am gripped by fear, the idea that they've
(35:25):
been smacking everybody for the last couple of weeks, name brand,
powerhouse college football programs. They open up as a huge
favorite in Miami against the Hurricanes, and I just can't
convince myself it's real. Why do you think Indiana is
such a big favorite in this game.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
Well, because they deserve to be this kind of a favorite.
I mean, think about think about Mendoza right now. He
has more touchdown passes in two playoff games than incomplete passes,
more touchdown passes than incomplete passes in playoff wins over
you know, pretty good teams Alabama and Oregon.
Speaker 4 (36:04):
And so Miami was the last team in. They're the
ten seed. You know, you don't count the eleven and twelves,
the Tulanes on the James Madison. You know, that was
the question, should Miami get in or should Notre Dame
get in? And they're Wow, Miami beat them earlier this
year It's like, yeah, did that count? So they get in.
Speaker 3 (36:21):
And part of the reason was because they felt like
the ACC had to have a team. So look, get
the Canes a lot of kudos, you know, but I
will say this, they said, well they got the home
field advantage.
Speaker 4 (36:32):
They're gonna be a lot of Hoosier fans there, folks,
gonna be a lot of Indiana fans.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
Look right now, the buzz around the Big Ten and
everywhere else is they must have cheated.
Speaker 4 (36:40):
There's no way the Indiana Hoosiers perennial losers, losers of
more games than any Division One team ever, A team
that two years ago was three and nine can be
in this position right now. But here's the thing.
Speaker 3 (36:54):
You know, Theoretically, we talked about this buck where you know,
you know what the transfer portal and nil money, that
any team could conceivably rise from the ashes to the top.
Except we didn't see that. It just seemed like the
rich were getting richer. And then came Signetti. You know,
he's sixty four years old. The guy's been around everywhere.
(37:16):
He was one of the first hires Nick Saban had
at Alabama, and then he goes to University of Indiana, Pennsylvania,
and then he's at Elon and then he's at James
Madison and he's winning everywhere he goes. And he came
in and he brought a lot of his James Madison
players with him that knew his system.
Speaker 4 (37:34):
This is a veteran Indiana team. And then they used
the transfer portal masterfully.
Speaker 3 (37:41):
He needed a new quarterback. Rourke was a one year
quarterback a year ago. They need a new quarterback, and
they did their homework on Mendoza. I don't remember, you know,
as we went into the transfer portal. Oh yeah, everybody's
just tripping over themselves to get Bernana Mendoza.
Speaker 4 (37:56):
None of that was happening, but he said. Signetti said
this that he personally scouted personally, you know, looked at
talked with every single player that they transferred. They that transferred.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
Into Indiana, and so it just goes to show if
you make the right high I'm jealous because I'm at
UCLA and we've made miserable moves over the years, although
we do have the guy that replaced him with James Madison,
so I'm hoping about this. But Indiana masterfully found the guy.
He is the best coach, right now in college football,
and it's not gonna go away. Everyone thought last year
(38:29):
as an aberration they didn't play anybody, They got blown
out by a highest state during the regular season, their
pretenders and everything else. This year they proved they're absolutely
not and it's only going.
Speaker 4 (38:38):
To get better for your Hoosiers. That's crazy.
Speaker 3 (38:41):
I would die if the UCLA was in this position
right now, Buck, But they're not, and Indiana is. And
I fully expected Indiana not only is gonna win this game,
they're gonna win big, and they're gonna go down as
the first team since the eighteen ninety four Yale Bulldogs
to go sixteen to zero in a season in Division
one football.
Speaker 1 (38:59):
Nine.
Speaker 4 (39:00):
That's history, Buck, history for the Hoosiers.
Speaker 2 (39:03):
If my alma mater has the last undefeated college basketball
team and the lack in the next undefeated in the
college football team, first sixteen and o team, I can't
even describe to you how unthinkable that is.
Speaker 1 (39:19):
Steve really eazy.
Speaker 2 (39:20):
I never went to a game for four years in
college too. You go tail Ge, you go home, you
watch Notre Dame. It's such a foreign concept that the
Indiana Hoo's.
Speaker 4 (39:30):
There's one Randall L's of the world, right. I mean,
you know, there's not much with Indiana football over the years.
You know, Lee Corso was their coach way back in
the day.
Speaker 3 (39:39):
But I mean, this is this signette guy is just
he's lapping the field right now in terms of understanding
how to navigate the nil money and the transfer portal.
Speaker 4 (39:49):
And that's why indianas one went away from making history.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
Well, I'll certainly be there on Monday to take in
the dramatics and we'll see if it's as comfortable for
the Hoosiers. Stick here on Fox Sports Radio, you're listen, Haino,
Fox Sports Radio Radio. Ask and you shall receive. Buffalo
Bills fans, you wanted Josh Allen to show you something,
(40:13):
Well here he comes. As Martin just mentioned, fifteen of
twenty two, one hundred and ninety five yards and his
third touchdown pass. As we begin the fourth quarter, the
Bill's lead for the first time since leading seven to
three late in the first. He's Steve Hartman. I'm Buck Rising,
(40:34):
hanging out here with you on this Fox Sports Saturday.
We are broadcasting live from the Fox Sports Radio studios.
A lot of moving pieces and parts on this Saturday. Steve,
This job never gets easier than when you can sit
here and talk about football whilst watching football in real time,
much less playoff football.
Speaker 1 (40:53):
Baby, it's electric.
Speaker 3 (40:54):
Well I've been doing this job for thirty five years now, buck,
and likea so what job?
Speaker 4 (40:59):
You know?
Speaker 3 (40:59):
My father back in the day said me, you know, son,
talking sports is not a real job. I go, you're right, dad,
But it's a hell of a way to make a
living and I have no other skills. So you know,
we could be sitting here, you know, kicking back in
our places just watching these games. Or we can kick
back as we are right now, watch the games and
talk about the games, which is pretty much what we're
(41:20):
doing if we're for some family watching these games right now. Look,
I'm anxious to see this drive. After Josh Allen just
led the Bills to take the lead twenty four to
twenty three in this game, can Bo Nicks and the
Broncos answer back? And you know, we've had some great
playoff games so far in this postseason. The Wildcard weekend
certainly start off with several really competitive games, and this
(41:43):
looks like one of those games is going to come
down to like who has the ball last?
Speaker 4 (41:47):
So I can't wait to see how this plays out.
Speaker 2 (41:50):
The NFL playoffs almost always deliver, and outside of the
final two games of that wild Card weekend to your
points to between the Steelers and the ten which was
pretty stinky if you're a Steelers fan, and the Patriots
just suffocating the life out of that Chargers team at
home in one of Justin Herbert's worst games of the
(42:11):
season in a huge spot, we have been blessed with
spectacular playoff football.
Speaker 1 (42:17):
Now.
Speaker 2 (42:18):
John Harbaugh agreed to terms with the Giants today on
his five year, one hundred million dollar contract, and we
can circle back to that here in just a second.
But Steve, we do have a little bit of other
NFL head coaching news where it is being reported by
Tom Pellasero of the NFL Network. I believe he had
at first that Packers coach Matt LeFleur will remain in
(42:39):
Green Bay, agreed to a contract extension for multiple years
after that disappointing playoff exit. You want to talk about
wild Card weekend fireworks, the way that the Bears came
back against the Packers at home at Soldier Field in
the elements with some of the best quarterbacking I have
(42:59):
seen all season long from Caleb Williams, the Cardiac Bears
deliver again in the fourth quarter, and an implosion by
Green Bay against their most hated divisional rival, the NFL's
oldest rivalry between the Packers and the Bears. Round three
did not go well for the pack but there was
(43:20):
some consternation, certainly among Packers fans. I imagine there's mixed
emotions today hearing the news of Matt Lafleur's contract extension,
because that was not a well operated or a football
team that had their operation down against Chicago.
Speaker 1 (43:36):
There was a collapse.
Speaker 2 (43:37):
There was defensive errors also that allowed the Bears to
get back into that game. Mistackles a plenty, only so
much that the head coach has control over. But I'm
looking at Matt Lafleur, and I got a lot of
respect from Matt. I had him for his one season
here in Tennessee as the offensive coordinator in Mike Vrabeles
first year on that Titans coaching staff. I think he's
(44:00):
earned every opportunity. I think he's an excellent offensive mind,
and I think he's probably getting the best out of
that offense that does have some underperforming pieces and parts.
And I do think he gets credit for developing Jordan
Love after working through a complicated situation with Aaron Rodgers
and getting that quarterback up to speed, that young quarterback
up to speed in pretty short order. He's made the
(44:22):
postseason six out of his seven seasons in Green Bay.
But if you're a Packers fan, do you feel good
about the extension for Matt Lafleur today.
Speaker 3 (44:32):
Well, Laflora is beginning to look a little bit like
Mike Tomlin and John Harbaugh, you know again getting to
the postseason. There are certain storied franchises in the NFL
buck and the Green Bay Packers are certainly one of them. Look,
he took over a mess with Mike McCarthy. Things had
gone off the rails for McCarthy. Immediately got the Packers
(44:53):
to back to back NFC Championship games and games that
they could have won and didn't win. If you look
at after those first three years though, the last four
years eight nine, nine and eight eleven, six ninety seven
and one, that's pretty mediocre. They had the one impressive
playoff win obviously in Dallas, but who doesn't beat the
Cowboys in the postseason. That's not I don't know if
(45:14):
that's to be bragged about. Look again, you're you're talking
about a quarterback, a coach. Excuse me, that is seventy six,
forty and one in the regular season postseedson is three
and six.
Speaker 4 (45:25):
So you see a lot of these. I mean, if
you're the Packers, see there's a lot of franchises, say gee,
I mean.
Speaker 3 (45:31):
If we're in the postseason every year, I'll take it.
I don't think the Packers are one of those franchises.
I don't think the Steelers are one of those franchises.
Speaker 4 (45:40):
When you got.
Speaker 3 (45:41):
Lombardi trophies out there, you want more of those. And
so it's gonna be interesting. Look, I'm I think the
Packers did the right thing. He's still a young coach.
But it seems to me the Jordan Love is stalling.
You know, you remember, right, yeah, that phenomenal first half
in that road playoff game against the Cowboys and were like,
(46:01):
look at this guy. I mean, I remember that season
saying there was no team in the league that had
a bigger upgraded quarterback than the Packers did, getting rid
of a decain Aaron Rodgers and inserting Jordan Love. But
is he any better over the last couple of years
than he was at that point, So that's really the question.
I mean, is he the quarterback that can win a
(46:21):
Super Bowl for you? And I would say, to be fair,
we don't know. I mean I don't see it.
Speaker 4 (46:31):
And losing that game the way they did to the Bears,
even on the road, to me, was inexcusable.
Speaker 3 (46:37):
You can't lose games like that where you have twenty
one three at the half, I don't care if you're at.
Speaker 4 (46:41):
Home on the road. You can't blow leads like that.
And their offense looked so good in the first half,
completely disappeared in the second half of that game.
Speaker 3 (46:51):
So he's got a lot of question marks ahead of him.
I can imagine Packer fans are like, let's wait and see.
His excuse, of course, is hey, we lost Michael Parsons
late season, and that obviously is a big loss for
that Packers defense. I mean, the Bears comeback of Mike's
on the field, will never know, but you know, the
jury's out on the floor. I like him as a coach.
(47:11):
His record says he deserves an opportunity. He's still a
young coach, so good move by the Packers, But he's
going to have to win.
Speaker 2 (47:18):
It's completely fair analysis because to your point, the Packers
are a franchise where good is simply not good enough
the expectation his postseason wins, his championships season in and
season out, and they've fallen well short of that expectation.
Speaker 1 (47:32):
I think that the.
Speaker 2 (47:34):
Jordan love thing, I mean, my god, Steve to your
point about how impressive he looked in that postseason, where
it felt like that was his his coming of age
professionally in that moment. I picked him to win the
NFL MVP that year, and then immediately he gets a
bum ankle because they're playing football games in Brazil on
a field with turf that is probably not up to
(47:55):
par for an NFL for any football game, much less
why we're playing games in BRAZILA conversation for another day perhaps.
So there's there's different layers to the Packers trajectory that
seen them fall short of those expectations. But I do
this as somebody who covers a team that is not
one of these franchises.
Speaker 1 (48:16):
The Tennessee Titans are No.
Speaker 3 (48:18):
They were close there for a buck buck, you know, Rabel,
that's right. Whatever happened to that Rabel guy? Oh, that's right.
He had one of the great single season turnarounds in
NFL history with New England this year.
Speaker 4 (48:28):
Why did he leave?
Speaker 1 (48:29):
What?
Speaker 4 (48:29):
What was the story in Tennessee?
Speaker 2 (48:31):
Well, the story in Tennessee is you can't get into
a pissing match with your owner and expect to come
out cleaning on the other side.
Speaker 3 (48:37):
By the way, I have to tell you this, So
I got to know Mike McCoy when he was the
coach of the Charger. So I went back to San
Diego when McCoy was there, and I've never seen a
coach like this, like every time. The last two years
were a disaster, and by the way he then did
over the next two years something it's never been done
the history.
Speaker 4 (48:55):
Of the NFL. After he got fired by the Chargers,
he was hired as the offense coordinator of the Broncos
and fired mid season his first year. And then the
next year was named the offensive coordinator of the Cardinals
and was fired mid season his first year there. That's
never happened, I think in the history of the NFL.
But he was one of those coaches.
Speaker 3 (49:16):
It was never his fault, like we had we had
the perfect game plan. The players just did not execute.
He would dude this week after week after week. I'm like, dude,
you can't get out of here quick enough. But you know,
the Titans seemed to be one of those organizations that
had their you know what together, and somehow they lost
their way and it's going to be very interesting to
(49:38):
see what direction they go.
Speaker 4 (49:39):
Who do you want to be their next coach?
Speaker 3 (49:41):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (49:41):
Who do I want?
Speaker 2 (49:42):
I wanted I wanted Mike McCarthy for no other reason
than it's not sexy by any stretch of the imagination.
Speaker 1 (49:50):
I liked the higher just an adult in the room,
Steve see.
Speaker 4 (49:54):
I liked the McCarthy thing.
Speaker 3 (49:55):
I wasn't a huge McCarthy guy in Green Bay again,
you know, like one Super Bowl run with you know,
the best quarterback in the league all those years. But
you know, I actually liked what he did in Dallas.
You know, dak Is. He's another quarterback that just can't
get it done in the post.
Speaker 4 (50:11):
Either, a lot of them.
Speaker 3 (50:11):
I'm justin Herbert Is to be in that kind of
quarterback now for the Chargers, well, he just can't get
it done in the postseason. But I liked when McCarthy did.
He stood up to you know, Jerry there and they
had a pretty good run. So no, I think actually
Mike McCarthy would be a great hire. Are you Are
you convinced cam Warden is a franchise quarterback?
Speaker 2 (50:31):
I know I'm not convinced yet. I acknowledge that he's
got some superpowers to him, but it's all outside of
structure right now. It's backyard football for km Warden, and
the roster here is horrendous. So they got a lot
of work in Tennessee to get this thing back up
to stuff. But I mention it in the in the
context of Matt Lafleur simply to say I know Packers
(50:52):
fans or Steelers fans don't want to hear things like
the grasses and always greener. But as somebody who has
lived that up close and personal through my Frabel prism
as far as what they thought they were doing and
how much better they thought they could get, and an
organization that thought it was more than it actually is
about making sure that they had their ducks in a
row and that they were aligned properly in what came
(51:14):
after a former Coach of the Year and Mike Rabel.
The grass certainly wasn't greater Brian Callahan and Mike McCoy, who.
Speaker 1 (51:21):
Was his interim.
Speaker 2 (51:22):
For people who may not know that, I think it
was a very With all due respect to Mike McCoy,
he was a very forgettable tenure here.
Speaker 3 (51:30):
He's a very forgetable head coach. By the way, you know,
we're watching the Bills right now, burning time.
Speaker 4 (51:36):
Right now.
Speaker 3 (51:36):
They've got the ball, they have a one point lead,
and they're just killing some time right now, Buck, And
you got you know the old school option plays, you
know the belly play I faked of the running back.
Quarterback keeps the ball runs for a few yards. That
is a great advantage. I'm telling you right now. If
the Bills win this game, Buck, I know they will
be either at Houston or at New England.
Speaker 4 (51:59):
I don't know. This could be the year of destiny
for the Bills if they come away with a victory.
Speaker 3 (52:03):
It's far from over against Denver right now, and we've
seen them turn the ball over a few times.
Speaker 4 (52:08):
But I don't know. It could be a team of
destiny this year the Bills.
Speaker 2 (52:12):
All I just well, the team of destiny thing has
legs and momentum for as not quantifiable as it is.
Speaker 1 (52:19):
Oh did that ball come out.
Speaker 4 (52:20):
Though I know they're looking at right now, but apparently
they said no.
Speaker 2 (52:23):
Okay, Well, we'll keep you updated here in the fourth quarter.
We are just under seven minutes to play between the
Bills at Denver right now, and we will talk more
about the other three playoff games in the NFL a
little later on. I am just so fascinated to see
how this ends up playing out this evening, Steve, because
(52:47):
we're going to talk about Sam Darnold more at length
in the next second. But to your point about the
Bills being a team of destiny, I don't know if
anybody in the AFC is capable of going against the
best teams in the NFC this point in time, and
Sam Darnold and Seattle are as suspect as anybody, but
they're the number one seed. You've got so many different
(53:08):
layers to this year's postseason. It's a fascinating postseason for
a number of different reasons, just because it feels like
I know that there are some familiar faces in there,
and that it's not you know, it's not the first
time that Houston has been in the playoffs, so that
Matt Stafford has made a bit of a run here
and the Niners and the Seahawks are perpetually sniffing around.
But it just feels like we had a little bit
(53:30):
more diversity in the playoffs this year from a team standpoint,
or at least from a personnel standpoint. We're used to
seeing the Patriots in the playoffs, but not this Patriots team.
It's I've thoroughly enjoyed the chaos of this NFL season,
even though there's the last two years it feels like
there's been such a massive gulf between the haves in
(53:50):
the NFL and they have nots. I've been delighted to
see all the chaos though, and not you know, not
because of the injuries. You hate to see Patrick Mahomes
go down that he did, although they were probably gonna
get eliminated before he tore his acl. I'm just I'm
really really enjoying some of the different storylines that we're
getting this year.
Speaker 3 (54:08):
Well, i mean, think about this, So you get to
the final eight and there's two quarterbacks that are clearly
above all others, Josh Allen and Matthew Stafford. I mean,
Boon Knicks, Drake may c J Stroud, Sam Darnold Brock Purty,
Caleb Williams. I mean, it's just you don't know about
(54:31):
these quarterbacks. And that's why I said going into this week,
I'm going to ride the ponies that I know.
Speaker 4 (54:38):
That's Josh Allen and Matthew Stafford. Been there, done that.
Stafford has won a Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (54:43):
Josh Allen if he's not playing, Patrick Mahomes is eight
and two in postseason games. So you know, these are
quarterbacks that have been there, done that, and I think
experience as kat.
Speaker 4 (54:52):
Every once in a while, Yeah, you have that breakout quarterback.
Speaker 3 (54:55):
Patrick Mahomes is one of those guys you know, just
seem to hit the round running.
Speaker 4 (54:59):
Of course, it's first big loss.
Speaker 3 (55:01):
It was to Tom Brady and that first AFC Championship game,
the Chiefs loss of the Patriots. So I just again,
you're right, it's been a very unpredictable year this year.
I mean, no one could have envisioned that the Broncos
and the Seahawks would end up as the number one
seeds with bow Nicks and Sam Darnold as the quarterbacks.
Speaker 4 (55:20):
But are they cable winning?
Speaker 1 (55:21):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (55:22):
I mean I really went into this week saying any
one of these eight teams could hoist the Lombardi Trophy.
Still believe that. But right now we're just watching this
Bills team and the biggest thing they are doing on
this drive right now, Buck is they're chewing up time.
And then this is where Josh Allen gets it done
with his legs, and that's something that in it's hard.
(55:45):
I mean, he's such a competitor, such a big guy six',
five two hundred and forty, pounds he ain't gonna get.
Hurt and so here they are inside the fifteen yard.
Speaker 2 (55:55):
Line relish's contact, too, well it's a bit of a
sicko calling it to his. Game experience matters To Steve hartman's,
point and we are going to talk about The Sam darnold,
experience how much last year's playoff failures might inform the
way that we view The Seattle seahawks quarterback who plays
(56:15):
The San francisco forty nine. Ers, Tonight stick, Around It's
Fox Sports, Radio real, fireworks, Overrated.
Speaker 3 (56:25):
Hold, on hold, on hold on now Today i'm sitting
in here For.
Speaker 4 (56:30):
JASON i was born on the fourth Of.
Speaker 3 (56:33):
July oh oh, yeah my birthday is the fourth Of.
July so there's no way you're going to get someone
like me to say that fireworks are, overrated because WHEN
i was a, KID i was, LIKE i have the
coolest birthday ever BECAUSE i do have fireworks on my.
Speaker 4 (56:52):
Birthday so there you.
Speaker 2 (56:53):
GO i think if you were to run it through
a birthday, PRISM i would take a much different position
as far as the ancillary effects of. FIREWORKS i could
probably leave him at. Home but we are getting some
fireworks between The bills and The. Broncos He's Steve hartman
kind enough to fill in For Jason fits on This
Fox Sports. Saturday I'm Buck rising hanging out here with.
(57:14):
You we are approaching the two minute warning in THIS
Afc divisional game between The, bills who lead In denver
twenty seven to twenty, three Though denver is attempting to
steal that lead.
Speaker 1 (57:28):
Back we will keep you updated with the.
Speaker 2 (57:29):
Latest of, Course tonight's game between The San francisco forty nine,
ers hosted by the number one overall seed in THE,
nfc The Seattle, seahawks is going to be an interesting.
Game another divisional, rematch a three peat for these two,
teams of which the last went in favor Of. Seattle
But Sam darnold quarterbacking These, Seahawks Steve, hartman his last
(57:53):
playoff appearance was anything but. Impressive they falter at the
end of the regular season To Detroit May, Minnesota Sam
donald's previous team a wild. Card they then have to
go to The Los Angeles rams in that wild card
round last year where they get drummed twenty seven to.
Nine And Sam donald is anything but. Impressive he caves
(58:14):
under the literal pressure from That rams front and it
creates all manner of questions about him heading into this.
Postseason do you Trust Sam donald to beat the allegations?
Speaker 4 (58:25):
Tonight, Well i'll put it this.
Speaker 3 (58:27):
WAY i because of The kittle. INJURY i, mean this
is just to me the final dagger for the forty nine.
Ers you, know there's been some great coaching jobs this,
year a lot of arguments, about you know who THE
Nfl coach of The year, Was but in season, coaching no.
Speaker 4 (58:41):
One did a better job Than Kyle. Shanahan so.
Speaker 3 (58:45):
The WAY i look at the you, KNOW i Know
seattle's a big favorite. TONIGHT i think they do, win
BUT i think the forty Nine ers. COVER i think
this is going to be a close, game and it
is THE x factor With Sam donald ALTHOUGH i will say,
this if you look At Sam darnold's the worst, games
they always seem to be against The. Rams but the
last time he played The, rams he engineered that overtime
(59:06):
drive to pull out that, game along with the winning
two point. Conversion SO i, YEAH i mean it's fair
to say Until Sam donald wins a playoff game plays.
Speaker 4 (59:17):
Well in a playoff, game we have to question it
because he hasn't shown he can actually deliver in a playoff.
Game and last year's loss to The rams was a
disastrous performance coming up that bad final game against The.
Lions so, YEAH i mean that's fair With Sam.
Speaker 3 (59:32):
Donald my guess, though is That Sam donald will settle.
Speaker 4 (59:36):
IN i don't think he's going to be a factor.
Speaker 3 (59:38):
TONIGHT i just think the forty nine ers are going
to struggle mightily going against that insanely Effective seahawks.
Speaker 2 (59:45):
Defense, well it will be curious because he, was of
course on the injury Report Sam donald was this.
Speaker 4 (59:50):
Week the bleak injury is that what they're, saying a bleak.
Speaker 2 (59:53):
Correct and a bleak, Injury so the what limitations that
causes him in this game will be very much screwized
As seattle attempts to beat their divisional, foe the Wounded,
Animal San francisco forty Nine ers And Steve i've been
on this train.
Speaker 1 (01:00:09):
The almost all season.
Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
Long With Kyle shanahan as the regular season coach of the,
YEAR i Think Mike rabel has done a spectacular. JOB
i Think Shane steichen with The colts was ultimately undone
by a just an ungodly rash of injuries On.
Speaker 4 (01:00:24):
Liam cohen And. Jacksonne there were some great, turnarounds you
Know Ben johnson obviously with The, bears But i'm talking
about in season sounds like you're with me on this, One,
buck in season, adjustments all the injuries as forty Nine
ers team have no coach at a better job Than Kyle.
Speaker 2 (01:00:40):
Shanahan, no for as much responsibility as he, CARRIES i
think that weights it heavier for, me which is why
HAD i had A coach of The year, vote it
would have been For Kyle. Shanahan and The kittle thing
just sucks man an achilles injury at that late stage
of the year that will take him out for the
fall for at least the bulk of the following season
(01:01:00):
In San, francisco especially in an advanced age For George.
Kittle it will be If San francisco is to go
on the road to that kind of environment In seattle
and pull this. Off, uh it will be a tremendous
effort by everybody. Involved AND i don't want TO i
don't want to take credit away From Robert sala on
the defensive side of the, ball where they've had more.
Speaker 3 (01:01:21):
Injury, yeah and you Lose Fred, warner you, know one
of the absolute best defensive players in the, league and
hold it. Together by the, way we're watching Bow knicks
sort of doing A Josh allen thing where he's sort
of keeping these drives alive for this drive alive here
with a minute to go with his, Legs and that's
the one THING i. LIKE i don't understand why so
(01:01:42):
many people were downgrading Bon. Nicks he started more games
in his time With auburn And, oregon more games at
The division one level than any quarterback.
Speaker 4 (01:01:51):
Ever to, me that counts for.
Speaker 3 (01:01:53):
Something and he wasn't overwhelmed by the transition of THE,
nfl and obviously as one of the best coaches in
the league In Sean. Payton so it's gonna be interesting
to see if he can actually complete the.
Speaker 1 (01:02:04):
Comeback it's a fascinating.
Speaker 3 (01:02:06):
Conversation oh, oh.
Speaker 4 (01:02:11):
Is that a? Touchdown it is a little.
Speaker 1 (01:02:15):
Delayed oh my, god that's a.
Speaker 3 (01:02:16):
Touchdown Wown mims junior Touchdown.
Speaker 4 (01:02:21):
Denver.
Speaker 2 (01:02:21):
Wow and he's hurt after the, play grabbing his. Back
huge throw and huge reception From bonnicks To Marvin mims
to Give denver this twenty nine pending the extra point
twenty seven lead with under a minute to play in
the fourth.
Speaker 3 (01:02:40):
Quarter that is a herrow throw by Bon. KNICKS i,
mean there there's only one spot you could throw that
ball and actually. SCORE i, Mean, mims it's an over the,
shoulders a great.
Speaker 4 (01:02:52):
CATCH i, mean that's a, tough tough.
Speaker 3 (01:02:53):
Catch but the pass was absolutely perfect By, bonnicks.
Speaker 2 (01:02:58):
And he smokes his back on. It camera that's in
the corner of the end. Zone so Hopefully Marvin mimes
will be okay in this particular. Situation it is of
course being reviewed, currently as all scoring plays. Are But
denver right now has the, lead a late lead Over.
Speaker 1 (01:03:17):
BUFFALO i, Mean, martin why don't.
Speaker 2 (01:03:19):
You go ahead and get us caught up with anything
else that's, happening because right now we're covering it all.
Speaker 4 (01:03:23):
Well first of, All martin jumped up on that, throw
so obviously he liked that. PLAY i, DID i.
Speaker 6 (01:03:28):
DID i Need sean to get past the divisional, round,
Right Sean payton's the only Coach i've had that everone
that did a sort of only cheated a little. BIT
i don't like the way people talk about.
Speaker 1 (01:03:38):
It a little, bit just a little.
Speaker 4 (01:03:40):
Bit it just really did make people feel. Good, buck
that's the, problem you.
Speaker 6 (01:03:44):
Know but, anyway thirty twenty, seven As denver puts the
extra point through fifty five seconds left in the fourth
quarter to see If Josh allen can get The bills
back in the field go range or getting to the end.
Zone he'll have to do it if they want to.
Speaker 1 (01:03:58):
Win Now buffalo has.
Speaker 6 (01:03:59):
Scored quarter points, Now denver just with a then improbable
catch By marvin Mems as both As i'm, sorry As buck,
Said bo knicks through it And marvin got smoked in
the back with the touchdown by the. Camera he's a
special teams guy for. Them we'll see what impact that
has for the rest of. It but bow knicks right
now twenty two for thirty nine two forty two through the,
(01:04:20):
air three touchdown passes does have an. Interception still nothing
going on the ground For denver thus, far seventy six yards.
Rushing bow knicks the leading rusher with thirty. Five Josh
allens twenty for twenty, seven three touchdowns on an, interception
but he does have three, fumbles two of them, lost
one of them, recovered and, HONESTLY i think that last,
one if they didn't call it a, fumble that really
(01:04:42):
should have been twenty one carries For James cook one
fourteen on the ground for, him two twenty five through
the air For. Josh he's throwing touchdowns to mc Coole,
Hardman Keon, coleman And Dalton. Kin Kate Keyon coleman and
m Coole hardman have not even if we're on practice.
Speaker 1 (01:04:57):
Squad earlier this.
Speaker 6 (01:04:58):
YEAR Kem coleman a healthy scratch for a lot of guy.
Games Sam darnold will play today against The San francisco
forty Nine ers as they get ready to Defend I'm
Sorry defense start their. Playoff they're the one seed in
THE nfc taking On I'm. Sorry seattle's the one seat
in THE nfc taking On San, francisco And packers And
Matt lafleur have agreed to a contract. Extension they'll keep
(01:05:19):
The packers coach In Green bay for quite some.
Speaker 1 (01:05:22):
Time that was up for. Debate right, now.
Speaker 6 (01:05:23):
Fifty seconds left As Josh allen takes the field again
in the fourth, quarter how about, That, steve a little
not quite red Zone ian called End Zone.
Speaker 4 (01:05:32):
Radio but you do have a little crunch time radio
coming up.
Speaker 3 (01:05:35):
BACK i mean, yes we no huddle. Hour we like
to call It buck on End Zone. Radio we get
into that potential exciting finishes and once again an unbelievable playoff,
matchup and we're talking about. This you know which team's
going to have the ball, Last so right now they're
gonna have to make up a lot of ground here
The bills to get themselves just into field goal position
(01:05:58):
to send this one.
Speaker 2 (01:05:58):
Overtime if you Want Josh allen to earn, it by,
god he's going to have to here in these final
seconds of the fourth, quarter thirty to twenty, Seven denver.
Lead He's Steve, Hartman I'm Buck. Rising we're with you
On Fox Sports radio for the best pregame show every.

tune Into countdown To kickoff presented by BET mgm Every
saturday And sunday morning right here On Fox Sports radio

(01:06:46):
Allen it's Bo nix's moment for the time. Being we'll
see If Josh, allen who has twenty six career game
winning drives in the regular season and post only one
in the, postseason is THE Cbo Sports broadcast notes right?
Now can this be his? Second in a huge? Spot
the THING i love about This bill's, story, Potentially, steve
(01:07:10):
is the fact that they are going to have to
earn it in every traditional sense right for him to
go on the road for all of these games without The,
mahomes The, burrow The Lamar. Jackson on THE afc side of,
things this is still a huge.
Speaker 3 (01:07:23):
TEST i Know i'm a little bit ahead of, you
So i'm seeing things just a second before you, Are
buck right, now but a huge. Completion are they saying?
Incomplete how is this. Incomplete what AM i missing?
Speaker 2 (01:07:36):
Here, well see your replay here in just a, Second
Brandon cooks with theoretically the reception, Here.
Speaker 3 (01:07:45):
Eldy they're showing a replay right now, Here, buck AND
i to me, One, OH i see he only has One, okay.
Speaker 4 (01:07:55):
It looks like his hand touches out of, bounds so
before his.
Speaker 3 (01:07:59):
Knee before the ELBOW i. Cast they called it an incomplete.
Pass so it's a third and.
Speaker 1 (01:08:05):
One.
Speaker 2 (01:08:05):
Now, oh that's brutal For Brandon. COOKS i some of
these catches non, Catches. STEVE i wish they would just
give them for the degree of difficulty that it takes
to even come down with that. Ball third and one
now for The, Bills.
Speaker 3 (01:08:18):
Well they can't throw it in the middle of, Field,
buck because they still have two. Timeouts SO i mean
that's one thing in the bills favor right. Now and
are you kidding?
Speaker 4 (01:08:26):
Me broncos get called for off side first? Down oh?
WOW i, mean if You're Sean, paige you're, like, really.
Speaker 2 (01:08:36):
Yeah this was a neutral zone infraction on The denver
defense in a huge. Spot Sean payton chewing the hell
out of his.
Speaker 3 (01:08:46):
Gum oh, yeah third and one and you're gonna have
off side to give him a first, down so fresh
set of downs for The. Bills that's not the. Factor
thirty seven seconds to, go that is the. Factor and
even though their, kicker actually he has the longest field
we'll ever kicked in the, stadium sixty four, YARDS i
would not feel good about a sixty four yard.
Speaker 4 (01:09:05):
Kick they need about twenty five yards.
Speaker 2 (01:09:07):
Still, Yeah, so as As steve, Said steve will keep
you updated because he's slightly me.
Speaker 3 (01:09:13):
This Is i'm sorry about, This, buck because you, know
we do our ends on radio where.
Speaker 4 (01:09:17):
We have ten games going on constantly at one.
Speaker 3 (01:09:19):
Time that's basically our job On sundays is to keep
you updated on you, know all these different games right.
Now but incomplete pass here in the first. Play but,
YEAH i mean, this this is just, yeah THE nfl
just rules the, world does, it, Not? Buck i'm, SORRY i.
Speaker 4 (01:09:34):
Mean just you, KNOW i, mean it's not LIKE i
don't love all other. SPORTS i, Mean i've been around
a long, Time, buck AND i love all. Sports but
there's a reason why THE nfl is. King it's just
there's a.
Speaker 2 (01:09:46):
Reason it's just a different level of, intensity not just
for the, teams but Fans.
Speaker 3 (01:09:51):
You're gonna love this. Play, Buck you're gonna love this.
Play that's All i've gonna tell.
Speaker 2 (01:09:55):
You here we, Go Josh allen in the shotgun for,
Me khalil Sakur oh with a little bit of a toss.
Speaker 4 (01:10:03):
Back the wow lateral boom right. There first, down big
yards for The bills and they are. In they are
in field goal. Territory look at that.
Speaker 2 (01:10:13):
CALL a, huge very gutsy call By Joe, brady the
offensive coordinator in that spot with the game on the.
Speaker 1 (01:10:21):
Line, now they.
Speaker 2 (01:10:22):
Do have those, timeouts Like steve, said so while he
does stay in, bounds they have the ability to control the.
Speaker 1 (01:10:29):
Clock.
Speaker 2 (01:10:29):
Here what a massive, play but they still have to
get this done as far as the field goal, goes
and we know that's anything but a certainty in a
place like mile.
Speaker 3 (01:10:37):
High, Right so right now they use one of their
timeouts to stop the. Clock so there's twenty four seconds.
Left bills still have one time out right, now and
they are at The denver thirty two yard. Line so right,
now this would be a forty nine yard, kick which
is certainly very, makeable but, yeah you'd like to get
(01:10:58):
another five yards ten yards, again you can actually make
a pass over the middle and still have that last
time out to. Go and by the, way he's going
for the home. Run, oh and there's got to be
a penalty on The. Broncos no call on The. Broncos.
Speaker 1 (01:11:14):
Wow, OH i disagree with. That that absolutely should have
been a. Flag he's all over.
Speaker 4 (01:11:20):
Them look at them grab right. There i'll come. On
how is that not passive?
Speaker 1 (01:11:26):
Inference?
Speaker 2 (01:11:27):
Oh that is some brutal. Officiating if You're, buffalo that is.
Speaker 4 (01:11:32):
Insane AM i losing my? Mind?
Speaker 2 (01:11:34):
No you can see him pulling at the. Jersey there
is no attempt to play the. Ball he's just getting.
Speaker 4 (01:11:40):
Mugged that is. Unbelievable there is no call on that.
Play so nineteen seconds to go second in, ten that was.
Speaker 2 (01:11:48):
INSANE i, Uh, STEVE i think we should just keep
it here for the until the. Final, yeah here For
buffalo and Denver ian we are probably gonna, scrap would you?
Speaker 1 (01:11:59):
RATHER i think nobody is upset about.
Speaker 3 (01:12:01):
All, Right so we had another incomplete pass Here. Bucks
so now we got third and. TEN i still cannot
believe that that was not. Interference how is that not?
Speaker 4 (01:12:09):
Interference right?
Speaker 3 (01:12:11):
There it's defensive holding at, Least so the uh The
broncos get away with.
Speaker 4 (01:12:18):
One Make, steve he didn't. Run the cook stopped running
on the. Ball that's why he stopped because he was.
Grabbed sit. Down talk about that on your show coming.
Up if he ran through it.
Speaker 3 (01:12:29):
Running but that was a bogus. Call, complete completely bogus.
Call you can talk about it on your show With.
Speaker 2 (01:12:36):
STEVE i really have To steve on. That that's a
brutal penalty to not get.
Speaker 3 (01:12:42):
It martin's gonna talk all right incomplete on fourth, Down,
Bucks so we're gonna have ten seconds left and they're
going to come on for a forty nine yard field goal.
Speaker 4 (01:12:49):
Attempt, Okay and he missed an open. Receiver was not
a good throw By Josh all and he had an open, receiver.
Speaker 1 (01:12:55):
And he's pissed at himself about. It look at.
Speaker 2 (01:12:57):
Him he at the tight end streaking wide open down
the field and just overthrew it off the fingertips Of
Dalton knox in this. Spot so we will stick right
here for the field goal try that would Give buffalo
the ability to tie this game thirty to twenty. Seven right,
now all the drama in this finish in THE Afc divisional.
Speaker 3 (01:13:21):
Round all, Right so a time out right now to
freeze the kicker by The broncos And prader, again he's
the kind of guy that can kick these field goals
eighteen and twenty eighteen out of twenty in his career
in the, postseason veteran, kicker been, there done. That he
actually kicked a sixty four yard field goal in this.
Stadium it's the longest field goal ever in the. Stadium
(01:13:42):
this one is from forty nine. Yards so veteran, kicker been,
there done. That you just got to hit a good.
Shot believe That's.
Speaker 2 (01:13:49):
STEVE i hate the idea for. Overtime If I'm buffalo
at altitude that, way When denver's more acclimated to the.
SITUATION i know The bills are no stranger to the the,
elements but, THIS i, mean to play At denver in
this way is.
Speaker 3 (01:14:03):
Exhausting, Okay So, Buck i'm a little ahead of, You
So i'm gonna call, it and we're gonna get the
kickoff right.
Speaker 4 (01:14:10):
Now and here we. Go the kick is up and
it is right down the.
Speaker 3 (01:14:16):
Middle we got a tie game with five seconds to.
Speaker 4 (01:14:20):
Go you cannot kick the ball any better than.
Speaker 2 (01:14:23):
That Matt prater in a big, Spot why don't we
take a break. Here we'll finish up this game between
The bills and The broncos and THE Afc divisional round
with you On Fox Sports. Radio we've got drama who
thirty to thirty overtime Playoffs Steve, Hartman Buck rising hanging
(01:14:44):
out here with you On Fox Sports.
Speaker 1 (01:14:46):
Radio steve's a little, ahead so he's gonna keep us.
Speaker 3 (01:14:48):
Up all, Right, well nothing's kicked off for, overtime so
but Wild, BUCK i, mean this is.
Speaker 4 (01:14:55):
LIKE i, said and you said it. EARLIER i, mean
we get paid to do. THIS i sit here and
just watch games and, like, yeah unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (01:15:03):
Play BUT i don't even know if it's good radio
that we're.
Speaker 1 (01:15:06):
Doing but my, god is it.
Speaker 4 (01:15:07):
Fun it's a lot of.
Speaker 3 (01:15:08):
Fun if we're having. Fun they're having fun listening right
now if they're not. Watching and you, know The broncos
will get the ball first in the. Overtime, obviously both
teams get an opportunity here in the overtime, period and
unlike regular season, games we will play this until there's a.
Winner there's no ties in playoff, games so we'll see
how this. Goes but, Yeah denver will get the ball.
Speaker 2 (01:15:31):
FIRST i am so curious to see what they go
with Here Sean payton on that side of the ball
being able to put his offense in position to. Succeed
you don't want to Let Josh allen have a go with.
This you don't want to subject yourself to the Mad
max treatment because at that point there ARE i, mean
there's No holtz bar in this game. Whatsoever and by the, Way,
(01:15:51):
bonnicks beyond the turnover, late that looked like it could
be pretty damning and is a big reason why we're
tied at this point in. Time knicks has really lived
up to the billing here. Tonight he's done a great.
Speaker 1 (01:16:04):
Job.
Speaker 3 (01:16:04):
Absolutely that touchdown pass that gave THE nver a lead
late was a great. Pass and by the, way his
first pass in this drive for a first down another good. Pass,
so you, Know Bo, nicks that's the question going into this.
Game could he match the experience of a guy Like
Josh allen And bosdott only done it with.
Speaker 4 (01:16:21):
Throwing the, football but also with his.
Speaker 3 (01:16:24):
Legs as you, mentioned The broncos running backs haven't done
anything in this, game but he has been the team's
leading rusher in this. Game so you, know this was
a big step up last year as a, rookie struggled
in his debut in the. Postseason he has definitely not struggled.
Speaker 2 (01:16:38):
Today, yeah McLaughlin of the running back for The broncos
four for twenty, ONE R. J, harvey the young, rookie
the talented rookie six for twenty Bo Nick's steve mentions
the leading rusher with ten attempts so far thirty four
yards as he throws a pass incomplete To Courtland, sutton
who just got that first. Down so we'll keep you
(01:16:59):
updated as this. Game whar's on for The Buffalo.
Speaker 3 (01:17:04):
Bills it's going to go beyond, Us, BUCK i can
promise you THAT i want to audience for their. Show
they're getting ready to take over this. Game and you,
KNOW i like to MENTION. Vj husky AND i will
do End Zone radio, tomorrow will be two hours into
our show before they kick off the games. Tomorrow so
this is as good as it.
Speaker 2 (01:17:24):
Gets, Buck, no, absolutely and we'll look forward to hearing
your guys' coverage ahead of those games as. Well gut,
feeling do you Think denver pulls it?
Speaker 4 (01:17:35):
Off?
Speaker 3 (01:17:35):
STEVE i will say this If denver does not get
points on this drive and they're facing a third and
eleven right, now this game's going to be.
Speaker 4 (01:17:42):
OVER i, mean you've got to score on this opening.
Drive if you're the bron you got to get something
on the. Board you got to get a field, goal
you got to get a touchdown. Something because you hand
the ball To Josh, allen all he needs is a
field goal to win the.
Speaker 3 (01:17:56):
Game this game will be. Over so, big big third
and eleven right now from The. Broncos they're at their
own thirty seven yard, line and Bo nicks has. Delivered
his offensive line has done a really good job at
getting in protection in situations like. This and he throws
the ball and that looks like it's an incomplete. Pass
no flag and there is no. Flag fourth, down buck
(01:18:21):
and they're gonna have to punt the ball to The.
Speaker 2 (01:18:23):
Bills, brutal brutal situation For, denver who now gets the
opportunity or now has to try and Stop Josh. Allen
and if you had to pick a, defense it's between
The broncos and The texans who will play The patriots,
tomorrow for which unit you would want in this. Spot
denver is no pushover in this, situation But Josh allen
(01:18:46):
is a force to be reckoned, with so we will
keep you updated throughout the course of these shows On Fox.
Speaker 1 (01:18:52):
Sports you thank you.
Speaker 4 (01:18:53):
Tomorrow in that game Between New england And, HOUSTON i.
Speaker 2 (01:18:56):
Was more impressed with What New england. Did, FRANKLY i
Know houston it is an absolute, bear BUT. Cj stroud
just seems suspect to me.
Speaker 3 (01:19:03):
Since a one hundred PERCENT i, mean you, know it
seems like every time that defense just you, know clamps
down on a, team he makes some of the dumbest
throws and throws the ball away in the red zone everything.
Speaker 4 (01:19:13):
Else he is a HUGE x factor for The texans.
Speaker 2 (01:19:16):
Tomorrow, Well, steve it's been a great pleasure to have
you here with. Us much appreciated To mary And Ian
monzi And. Martin got you coming up.
Speaker 1 (01:19:25):
