and now this week was free agency and it was
a banana's week, So we have lots to talk about there,
and why don't we dive on in because Max Crosby,
like a week ago at this time, girl, it was like, Okay,
Max Crosby's going to Baltimore, new start for everybody, craziest

straight and then had so many implications for those first
three days, those first couple of days of legal tampering period,
and then free agency really officially kicked off and Max
Crosby is now.

Girl, I'm just glad I'm not a Ravens fan or
a Raiders fan, because it's just, you know what I'm saying,
Like I would be so much more invested and so
much more annoyed on how everything transpired.

All of the information with Max Crosby, we knew what
he was going through. We all saw the picture of
him in the hospital after surgery. We knew that he

it's hard for me to not not see it and
be like man Ravens, that was that was a little
slimy there. How you guys handled the situation, I don't
know if it was buyer's remorse. I don't know if

like you just realize this is not worth two first
round draft picks. But why didn't you do your research beforehand?
Because your decision caused so many.

Ripple effects, so many ripples, and you know it up
close and personal. You cover a team.

Imagine if your team would have been part of this
deal in some way, shape or form.

And let me tell you, there was many a fort
Haander's fans who wanted to want to Max Krosby.

That wasn't gonna happen. The Ford and AARs were not
who didn't want Max Crosby. Everybody wanted to Rex Crosby.

But I don't think the four Hours were willing to
give sure that up. But it was kind of bananas.
And you know, per many a report, the Ravens knew
and I think they got as many people have said,
they used this exact phrase, they've got cold feet a
little bit, They've got cold feet, but it's just it's
not a great thing to do. And I understand this
is a business and all of that, but not a

great thing to do to the rest of the league either.
It did have so many ripple effects, but.

I actually think you look at the Raiders now, and
I know we're going to talk about this a little
bit later some more, but you look at the Raiders now.
They have Linderbaum mm hmm, they have Max Crosby. They're
going to draft who they believe is their franchise quarterback.

It'll be interesting to see.

And I think you have a Max Crosby now that's
even not that he isn't always like fired up and
ready to go, but even more so. And he is
all about being back on the Raiders. So I don't know,
Like it's the Raiders, so you just don't.

But maybe, just maybe this is the juice that they need.

I think if you spoke to Raider fans, it was like,

than anything, he was unhappy we knew all of that,
But man, I do think the Raiders in order to
move forward and like actually revamp you had it. You
needed those two first round draft picks to like revamp
your O line.

that set you know what I'm saying. He was on
my fantasy.

the crux of the issues everybody.

But it's not what they wanted.

to face Max Crosby this season, good.

Talking about the Shield. I like talking about the Shield, Shield,
the NFL Shield. It feels very like in Game of Thrones,
really winter Winter is coming, I think, you know, I
almost think the latter because everyone was going to be
talking about it anyway, and it's me talking about free agency.
But there have been, you know, rumblings on social media,

and who knows if there's anything to that, But does
this effectively end this legal tampering period right that we
have lived through for all of these years, which is
it's such a silly thing because you love the clock,
you know, strikes twelve oh one pm Eastern time, and
somehow a player has agreed to the team to a

to take care of that.

what this comes down to. And so I don't know
if the Shield is gonna do anything, because I think

take away the legal tampering.

Period, Like okay, so you mean we just can't hear
about it, like you're just gonna be happening behind closed doors.

Well, because the league has totally embraced that teams can
post absolutely has agreed to terms with and they which
was new. Teams were never able to do that in
the past. And they change things where they can have
a one hour zoom with I think five players during
this legal tampering period, which would used to only be
through the agent.

So they've done things in some ways to kind.

Of relax, like it's already so great, and now I
don't know how do you go back exactly.

I don't I think don't think you can. I think
you just kind of send a memo and you're like,
don't do it like this.

like yeah, all of that kind of stuff.

I think you could still do that. We've agreed to

So I think the Toush push is no longer a
thing that anyone cares about because it's less successful.

And remember when it was such a big deal. Remember
how much everybody had an opinion.

Because they had a play they did better than everybody else,
and everybody's like, that's not that should not be allowed,
which is a little silly in my humble opinion, absolutely,

the drafts.

And now that's going to be what everybody is talking about,
is this draft, which is interesting. The drafts I think
are just getting so much more interesting with nil and
players staying in school longer. I think it dilutes those
later rounds a little bit, but you know what.

Yeah, it's I'm you know, as a Chargers fan, I'm
over here like wondering what my Charger is going to do.

the city themselves. Only two depart in free agency. I'm
talking about one, Michael Lynn Evans, who is a good
friend of mine from our days in Tampa together. His

days were longer. He was Jason Light's first draft pick
in Tampa Bay. And this is from everything, like I
kept being asked constantly. I was asked the Super Bowl.
I was at like, do you think he's going to
go somewhere? Do you think he's actually going to go somewhere?
And I'm like, no, no, No, he's so entrenched to Tampa.

If he's going to go anywhere, it's going to be like,
I don't know, maybe the Texans because he's from Galveston,
and this that the other, And.

Then I started thinking about it.

And I was like, man, you know, there are a
couple of teams where I really think he would fit
really well into and God forbid, he also realizes that.

So it happened. There was nothing the Bucks could do
to keep him. It was not a money thing. It
never is a money thing with Mike. It was a
this is what I want for my football career. This
I want a new experience. I want to prove myself elsewhere.
I want to shot at another championship, and I want
to change of scenery. And he decided that change of

scenery would come in another bay, the Bay Area. He
is now a San Francisco forty nine er, and he
will no longer wear the number thirteen.

No, he will not because the number thirteen is taken
by one rock party and they find him important to
the team, so he gets I think he gets to
keep at bit he's a little important to the team,
so I think he gets to keep his number. So
he will wear a different number, which may be actually
an easier pill to swallow for Bucks fans.

Sixty you know what, I'm a number, I think. Yeah.

We met him the other day on Zoom for the
first time. He was he was everything, at least on
the zoom that you have talked about with him, you know,
as who he is as a person, as a player.

That really came through.

And he made a comment that I think may maybe correct.
They have other issues too, but maybe correct that he
feels the Niners have been a piece away and he
is that piece. And you know what, They've never had
a truly truly elite NFL wide receiver.

They just haven't.

And I'm not taking anything away from the season Brandon
i UKad a couple of years ago it was an
elked season, but he's yet to prove clearly for a
lot of reasons if he is in fact an elite
wide receiver. Debo had an elite season in twenty twenty one.
He has an elite skill set, not necessarily an elite
wide receiver, so this is something different for them. The

interesting thing is they are the oldest team of the
league and for two did not and have for two
seasons been talking about how they want to get younger
and faster.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
So it's an interesting move in that regard.

Speaker 3 (18:43):
But I do think, and I'm not the first one
to say this, but I do think that he could
be the Devonte Adams that what Devanta Adams has been
to Matthew Stafford, he can be to brock Purty. And
I think back to that Bears game and this gets
overshadowed because the Caleb throw was so incredible, but in
the playoffs, but there was that throw Stafford made to

DeVante Adams that I don't think anyone else catches that ball.
And is Mike Evans gonna be that guy for brock Purty.
He very well maybe, so. I think it's a great
move for everyone. I know, super hard for the people
of Tampa Bay, for Bucks fans, but I it's hard
to like me.

It's hard for Bucks personnel.

Speaker 4 (19:26):
I'm here to tell you that I have talked to
multiple people inside that building this last week, and there
is a genuine sadness seeing Mike walk out that door,
especially because of the fact that he was Jason Knight's
first draft pick and he's meant so much to the organization,
to the community. And for as sad as Bucks fans
are and have a right to be, the people in

(19:48):
the building I think are sadder. They are devastated, not
just the guys that drafted him, not just the offensive coaches,
defensive coaches, players, they're all they're all devas stated, because
this is a guy that meant so much to that
locker room just in general. He's such an upstanding guy.
He's the perfect family man, he's the perfect locker room guy.

And it was one of those things where they were
just never going to change his mind. He wanted something different,
he wanted to experience something different in his career. And
I wonder, if you know, this is just my this
is my thought process. It doesn't have to do with
anything that I've talked about with Mike or anybody else.
But I think seeing Tom Brady come down there after

(20:33):
being known for being a New England Patriot, like just
being the New England Patriot and having as much fun
as Tom Brady did when he was in Tampa and
still winning another championship while he was with Tampa, I
can't help but think Mike sees that and says, you know,

(20:53):
you don't have to spend your whole career with one team.
I fully believe that Mike will go into the Hall
of Fame, and he will go into the Hall of
Fame as a Tampa a buccaneer. He will be a
Buck always when it comes to that, But I don't
want to deny him a chance to get to another
championship with a team that has so much tradition and
can also use his services so well. You talk about

the fit of what Mike Evans is good at. He
is that true X outside receiver. He is so good
at it. And the way that Kyle Shanahan has concocted
his offense is it lends itself so much. They've needed
someone that can just go down the field, yes and
stretch it, and that is what Mike is going to

do for you. And it's going to give him so
many clean opportunities to get those and then especially in
the red zone too, because he's a big body, Mike six',
five like he's a big, dude and he can go
up and get those kind those kinds of, passes AND
i just it makes so much, sense even from a football.
Standpoint what just never made sense to me was that

he was gonna Leave, tampa of, course But i'm so
happy for, him his, Wife, ashley their. Children they are
such a wonderful family AND i know they're going to
fit right into the forty nine ers. Organization i'm from
a human. Standpoint i'm very happy for them to have
a new. Experience BUT i promise you everybody in that
building In tampa is not is reeling from. This they're

still really sad about.

It and of course in that that happens when someone's
there the whole, time and it is so rare to
you have your whole career one place. Now and he
came very, close but, yes from a football side and
a locker room, side he talked a little bit about
