They go helicopter skiing where you take a helicopter to
the top of the mountain and you like jump off
the helicopter stuff like that, and that that cost him
like twelve thousand dollars a weekend. So these these guys

got so I don't think he wanted anybody to know
that he was taking maybe taking his rich friends to
the game.

TV network and I'm paying all that money, I'm ABC, ESPN,

the all time great personalities in this sport basketball, Stacy King.
And I'll say one of the all time greats in
Oklahoma Sooner basketball, one of the all time greats in
Chicago Bulls history, not only with what he did in
winning titles on the court, and he's a three time
NBA champion for goodness sakes, but he became a really

well known broadcaster. I mean, I'm an Oklahoma guy now,
I've spent my entire adult life in Oklahoma. He was
from a small town called Lawton. He went to Oklahoma.
He was a Sooner through and through. Just terrible story,
arn't He just fifty nine years old and a guy
that definitely had a personality that was bigger than life.

Yeah, you shared that with me. I'm like, oh no,
I can't believe it. And he was so young too,
You're right, I was man, Yeah, fifty nine. I was
surprised about that, And you're right, a big name and
you remember him from the years with the Chicago Bulls,
and I knew he had gone to Oklahoma and he
was from that area. So it was quite a shock

horrible to hear that today. You know, it was just
just absolutely horrible news.

It has not lacked an entertainment value. Let's put it
this way. Is it the best hockey I've ever seen
in a Stanley Cup Final? That very much or means
to be seen. But when you have a mentality where
no lead is safe, you get the Nights blowing a
two goal lead on the road and Rawleigh losing it
overtime in Game two, and then of course squandering a
four goal lead in the third period last night. It

makes for some very entertaining hockey and in my case,
a long, long night a team mobile arena. But just
thankful Vegas was able to emerge with victory and take
control of the series at two games to one.

I was gonna ask you, Todd, please tell me you
didn't leave. It was for nothing. If you did lie
to me and say you didn't leave, it was for nothing.

I didn't leave, Arnie. You figure you pay top dollars

arithmetict in my head that if Arnie was correct with
the Knicks, he would still be underwater. For all the
bets he's given out was eight segments over the years,
so eventually he's calling back to even It's what a
lot of people try and do in Las Vegas before
they ultimately then give it all back a second.

Hey, are you surprised at all by how I don't
want to say any of this has been easy, but
how hot this Knicks team has gotten. There's you know,
even whenever the Spurs have the incredible run late like
they did and both games won a game two, there's
just no stopping him right now.

This is a historic run that we're seeing right.

Speaker 6 (59:19):
Now, playing with a ton of confidence, and you're seeing
the versatility of it the Knicks roster that I don't
think a whole lot of people did coming into the
postseason you can put myself in that bucket when they
were down two games to one against the Atlanta Hawks,
which feels like an eternity ago you never would have envisioned,
you know, Karl Anthony Towns being the most dominant force
on the offensive and defensive end, kind of getting what
he wants offensively, being able to control the paint on

(59:41):
the defensive side, getting players like Landry sham At to
step up, Mikhail Bridges. We knew what Jalen Brunson was
capable of doing because he had a history of performing
on the biggest stage. But the way the Knicks have
kind of gelled as a team when the games that
mattered most on both ends of the court nothing short
of remarkable. And quite frankly, it looks like a Spurs
team that felt like they won the NBA Championship in
the Western Conference Finals haven't been able to come back

(01:00:03):
to earth and make some of those adjustments. And the
biggest difference is that Victor webin Yama is dealing with
the grown man in the paint. Unfortunately, the Thunder couldn't
provide that level of resistance unless as Jaye Heartenstein was
on the floor and just didn't have the offensive weapons
to steal that series away from San Antonio.

Speaker 3 (01:00:19):
Who would be your MVP vote right now?

Speaker 2 (01:00:22):
For me?

Speaker 6 (01:00:22):
I think it's Kat quite honestly. I know Jalen Brunson
is stuffing the stat sheet and doing all sorts of
things from an offensive standpoint, But I think Karl Anthony
Towns right now, at a plus one sixty five price tag,
you shop around, you can find a little bit higher,
would be my pick. This was the guy who came
into the NBA Finals right around twenty to one, and
you take him out of the fold. I think the
Knicks really have a massive gaping hole that they would

(01:00:45):
need to fill, whereas without Jalen Brunson you have some
other guards that have been capable. I think the biggest
question that we all have is we had to Game three,
where the Knicks are a modest favorite of two two
and a half points, is what can the Spurs do
differently to be able to generate offense. I think if
you were to ask Mitch Johnson how he felt his
team has performed, coming in saying that Dylan Harper was
your best offensive player was never going to be their
blueprint for winning an NBA Finals.

Speaker 2 (01:01:06):
Yeah, No, question.

Speaker 4 (01:01:08):
You surprised at all to see that the man leading
this charge is none other than Mike Brown with some
of the some of the great squads he had that
couldn't get it done as a head coach, and now
here he is with the Nicks on the verge of
his first championship as a head coach, for as an assistant,
but man, what about the job he's done.

Speaker 6 (01:01:24):
He's been incredible. He has kind of been the conductor
of the orchestra and getting these guys to perform at
a level that we just didn't see under Tom Thibodeau.
And while we all make jokes about the coaching carousel,
whether it's Major League Baseball, my beloved NHL, the NBA
and some of these retread coaches, they get opportunities. Sometimes
you just have to have the right mix and be
able to figure out the rotations and have the pieces

(01:01:44):
that fit together perfectly. Mike Brown has done a phenomenal job.
Amazing to see kind of the role reversal for a
guy who many people had talked about being one and
done as bench boss to the New York Knicks with
about a month left in the season when we knew
the team or at least thought they had the potential
to compete to win the Eastern Conference, not become a
full blown freight train like they've been from an ATS

and straight up standpoint doing things that we really haven't
seen historically in quite some time.

I know, all you Vegas guys have these underground friends
that you have. I don't know why you can't get
me tickets and face value, Todd. I don't understand that.

I mean you, underground is probably where you need to go.

value is really through the roof some great Cinderella stories
that we've seen. I mean, the atmosphere in Morgantown for
the Super Regional looked absolutely electric to see a team

the NCAA Tournament the last few years punch their ticket
to Omaha.

Right now in the landscape of college athletics, it feels
like it's I'm not going to say pure, that's probably
not the right word, but where the little guy has
more than a punch your chance to be able to
compete like we saw from Coastal Carolina getting so close
to winning the national title and then the USC North
Carolina game earlier today. Phenomenal to try and see knowing
all of these teams have to adjust the way they're

going to play in Omaha where you can't rely on
the long ball to be able to get out there.
But you mentioned the weather plant. Apparently OU is now
a baseball school since you can't make the Women's College
World Series. Wow, thing will be setting the men to
Omaha would appear if this game ever does get completed.

I was just gonna say, World Cup. Does the game
the game yesterday the USA had? Does that make you
change your mind at all and say maybe I want

five or sixty to one. Well, I'd be rooting for
the Red, White, and Blue, no doubt about it. I
think when you look at USA and the balance group
that they're going to be in starting Friday against Paraguay,

be the bare minimum getting to the round of sixteen.
I think, would you know, if we're using a golf analogy,
would be getting to par and then if you can

make the quarterfinals and pull off a little bit of
a Cinderella story there, then that would be raising the
bar for American soccer. But what I saw Saturday was
kind of the embodiment of what Team USA has been.
The opportunity to really control play offensively with a good
midfield and probably some underrated attack options, but it grew
that really makes a hounds breakfast on the back line.
And when you can't have a clean sheet, something at

USA has only done one in their last thirteen competitive matches,
it makes it tough to advance in a tournament like
this where a lot of nations around the world they
are a little bit more talented offensively. But it's an
event that I look forward to, you know, every four years,
along with the Euros on the off years in two
year intervals. And so let's hope Team USA can make
some historic memories and forge a path at least into

the round of sixteen and maybe the quarterfinals if they
get a bit lucky real quick.
