Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports. It's week nine in the
National Football League, and count them one, two, two, that's all.
We've got two games to this late window. It's six
teams on buy. Hey, it happens, you know, when you
change clocks, things gets funky. Of the National Football League.
We are broadcasting live from the tirect dot com studios.

(00:23):
Tirect dot com will help you get there an unmatched selection,
fast free shipping, free road hazard protection, and over ten
thousand recommended installers. Tirect dot com the way tire buying
should be. Do you like the five games in the
late window, George? Or is this two games scenario fit
your fancy five man five? More? In football, more is

(00:44):
always better. And the reason why is because some of
these games are gonna be done and it guarantees like
there's no possible way. Did you get five bad games?
You mean no possible Do you get five bad ones?
You can get too bad ones? And this in this
Tampa Bay Rams game, I don't care how you try

(01:05):
to spend it. How this is like watching Wisconsin versus
Illinois right now, I mean it's it's it's like watching
Rutgers versus Yeah, r Rutgers versus Illinois, like like in
Illinois is having a pretty good season this year, but

(01:28):
it ain't exactly No, I actually I'll even go Rutgers
versus Michigan State. This is all this Big Ten slander, George.
I mean, come on, can't we pick a crappy team
from the a SEC? I mean seriously, I mean this
is I mean, I'm surprised you didn't put Iowa in
your cross hairs from Oh my god, yes, yes, oh sorry, yes,
I yes, I excuse me. They're actually beating people have

(01:54):
seen because because your name is Iowa, Sam, But uh, dude,
how do you watch i will play football every week?
I watched him beat actually, so no problem with that
in your face, and beat Northwestern and thirteen. So they
put up more points on Northwestern than the bluck Eyes did.
How about that? Well, and and and they score more

(02:17):
a points than they than they had the entire season.
It combined, in the last two weeks, the entire Big
Ten West is right now tied for first. I think
Illinois actually tied for first, but everybody else is like
three and three. It's but we're not We're not here
to talk about Boston College versus Virginia. If if you

(02:40):
go for that, yeah, I'm just you know, he's off
of the big tenet. I'll say this that this Seahawks
Cardinals game going on right now probably has more pizzazz
than Rams Buccaneers. I mean that the brand of the
Rams Buccaneers is what draws you in. In fact, number one,

(03:02):
it's a CBS game, which is still really weird for
me to adjust to. I know it's been a couple
of years where we've had these cross network games, but
it's still really weird to see two NFC teams playing
on CBS and two a f C teams playing on Fox.
But you got Nancy got Romo, you got the Rams
and Buccaneers. But this is this is uh, this is
BC Virginia if you want to go there, because Seahawks Cardinals,

(03:25):
with the Seahawks leading the division, better offenses right now
there there are better than both the Buccaneers and Rams.
You've got the division leader in Seattle. Maybe now the
Cardinals can turn the corner that DeAndre Hopkins is back
and has been a great weapon for Kyler Murray a
lot more intrigued. I think when you just start talking
game for game for what the Seahawks and Cardinals provided

(03:47):
as opposed to the Bucks and Rams Well, and the
Cardinals are brutal too, like I mean, I mean, if
we're if we're being on is they're brutal watch too,
because Cliff Kingsbury and his offense is not what it
what it has like, it's not materializing into what you know,
we all thought it was going to be. And he

(04:09):
has never had a winning record after seven games in
any season, whether he was in Texas Tech or in
the NFL. What do you think the chances are that
they have a winning season for the rest of the
season because they're already what one to three, four, five, seven, yep, yeah,
and they and then they lost the last last week,

(04:31):
so they're already on on pace to have a losing
record for the after seven weeks into a season. This
is you know, this is the second time that I've
now seen Kyler Murray have an issue with somebody in
a game over these last couple of weeks. And now
we just shot on the sidelines in a conversation with

(04:54):
DeAndre Hopkins, and then when the entire offense gathers around,
I think, George that Kyler Murray is now just doesn't
want the flag. Like we knew what was a problem
last year when we heard at the end of the
year that he didn't want to be blamed for the
wrong doings while he still got paid. But now he's
gonna be blamed even more and it seems to be

(05:15):
rubbing him the wrong way. I mean, DeAndre Hopkins has
been a godsend for him coming back, and I get
there's in game stuff going on. See see. The thing
about Kyler Murray though, is that Kyler Murray is frustrated
with Cliff Kingsbury and frustrated with the organization. That's the

(05:36):
that's the issue is that he didn't feel like that
they did enough in the off season to help him
out the way he doesn't get the blame because he
knows that when you're a quarterback in this league, especially
a black quarterback in this league, you are the the
the bar for for just quarterback first is already extremely high,

(05:59):
and in when you get way more credit than you deserve,
lose and you get way more blame than you deserve.
So so his problem is not being happy with Cliff
Kingsbury and the job that Cliff Kingsbury is doing and
the front office for not providing like like, yes, they've
come out and gotten some white House Dan. It's just

(06:21):
been more the offensive line, the defense, and and they're
scheming that he has a problem with well, the the
Rams and Cooper Cup not having a problem with that
injured ankle. He's just connected with Matthew Stafford sixty nine
yard touchdown pass and catch. Rams have just taken the
lead on the Buccaneers early in the second quarter. Extra

(06:41):
point coming up. But that was a question what's gonna
happen with Cooper Cup's ankle seemed fine on the sixty
nine yard touchdown. By the way, the Bucks had troubles
covering Cooper Cup and that divisional playoff game a few
months back. Facts three to three to zero. I'm sorry,
seven to seven and three. That might as well be
up by a million right now. Charlotte's Web is the

Not available in Idaho or South Dakota. Seahawks continue to
lead the Cardinals ten seven seven left to go until

(07:24):
halftime in that contest, Seahawks getting the football back at
their own twenty one yard line and the extra point
from Matt Gay was good. So the Rams are on
top of the Buccaneers seven to three. Get George on

NFL gives us too late games. Seahawks up on the
Cardinals tin seven. They're at the two minute warning in Arizona,
while the Rams still holding onto that seven three lead
on that long touchdown passing catch from Matthew Stafford to

(08:55):
Cooper Cup fourteen to go until halftime there, but the
Rams up on the Buccaneer seven to three. As we
are live from the tirect dot Com studios. That coming
up in just a little bit, we'll look at some
fantasy numbers and uh boy, where there some hits today,
especially when it comes to one specific player. Bo Benson,
our executive producer, will have that. Plus George. It's week

(09:16):
nine of the NFL. There are now eighteen weeks in
the regular season, so we are midway point through the
NFL year and it is the perfect opportunity for us
to hand out some NFL mid season awards. So there
there are a lot. There are a lot of awards
that are gonna be handed out on the show today.

(09:36):
Uh the most Mid Award. Remember we talked about mid
a few weeks ago, a mid off and what is mid?
So there will be a miss a most Mid Award.
How about the award for Holy Crap I was wrong
about him award? It will will be giving our nominees
and our our winners throughout the show. A bunch of

(09:57):
different awards that we will be handing out looking back
at the first half of the season, a lot, a
lot of great nominees. George, Uh, I know that you're
gonna love the I Told you So award. Yeah, which
is a prediction that you actually got right. That you
can you know peacock about for what is transpired over
the first nine weeks of the year. Yeah, you and

(10:18):
you and you already know. I don't like to peacock.
I'm not a you know, I'm right kind of person.
That definitely not. No, I don't, I don't. I don't
like to toot my own horn. But uh, I will
beat beat today though we'll get we'll get to that,
uh in throughout the show. It'll be sprinkled in here

(10:41):
there in anywhere, and if you want to give a nominee,
if you want to pick a winner again, hit George
up on Twitter at George Rice Stir. You can find
me on Twitter at Dan Buyer on Fox. I can't
get over the Green Bay Packers, what like, like this
is this is two weeks ago where it does Yeah,

(11:02):
two weeks ago. Aaron Rodgers says, maybe maybe this is
the best thing for us, you know, going to Buffalo
where everybody's going to count them out and that's gonna
turn their season around. They end up playing a game
where they're competitive against the Bills and they are able
to but uh, they were never really in the game.
They hung tough, ran the football, weren't blown out on

(11:25):
national television and sevent team, but the cover the game
was way further like like the game was nowhere as
close as the final score dictated. Though, yes, yes, but
then you're looking at this game this week and listen,
there were people who were saying, I think the Lions
are gonna beat Green Bay. This is this The Lion

(11:46):
was one of those people. Okay, there you go, you
got it right. So it's not like it's out of
the blue, but for a Lions defense that has been
so bad, and for green Bay to muster a whopping
nine points against Detroit, it made me. As we sit
here at this point on November six, George, Aaron Rodgers

(12:08):
should have been traded two years ago. Like, if you're
Brian Goodkins, now you have to be like, if you
could trade Aaron Rodgers tomorrow, which they can't do because
of the contract that they gave him, but if you
could trade him tomorrow, you should because it is over
in green Bay. It is done with there is there
is these reports of green Bay was in on Darren Waller,

(12:31):
green Bay was in on Chase Claypool. They may be real,
they may be fake. None of it would have fixed
what happened today because Aaron Rodgers is now the problem
with the Packers and it's not going to get any
better over these next two years. Dan Dan Dann, Just

(12:53):
when I didn't think that you could, like like you,
you singed like you were on the right path, right
you You you seemed like you knew what you were
talking about and had a great take about this, right,
and then you started in and then I was like,
he's not even partially right. He is one percent right?

(13:17):
Is dude, and and I have been saying this about
Green Bay since the beginning of the season. And the
reason why as soon as Aaron Rodgers started talking and
I was like, he's talking like he's the management, Like
he's not talking like he's a player. He's talking about

(13:38):
his team and teammates like he's not one of them.
When you are the quarterback of the team, everything that
happens on that team, you are responsible for. So if
the team is not jailing and all of that stuff,
who's whose fault is that? That's yes, that is the
leader's fault because that means that you are not doing

(14:01):
a good enough job at leading. And is the Packers
roster good enough, like offensively with their with their whiteouts,
good enough to be the best seed in the NFC? Nope?
But should they be, you know, completely out of playoff
contention after nine games. No, they should be in a

(14:25):
wild card spot this year and fighting for their division.
That's where they should be. But Aaron is not doing
a good enough job leading. He has found his Like
it's almost like Dan. He looks at himself as an individual,
right and not as the leader of a of a whole.

(14:50):
So it's like It's it's like people who live out
in the world and they're like, yo, I'm taking care
of me. I'm not worried about anybody else. And it's like, yeah,
you can do that, but if you're trying to do
something great with other people, you better be worried about them.
And you can't just say, well, I'm doing my job.

(15:11):
The the coach said, I had my highest graded game
of the season last last week. Don't nobody care about
your highest graded game if you lost, because you can
have your lowest graded game and if you win, who cares?
Thank goodness that you won the game. So he's looking
at everything like like, hey, yo, I'm taking care of me. No, bro,

(15:32):
you gotta take care of every everybody. That's like being
a dad and being like, yo, I'm I'm handling my business, though,
like what your to make sure that everything else in
the house is on track? Home? The the thing that
dawned on me in the in the moment that it
dawned on me today. And I do want to say

(15:54):
that I was on record years ago saying that the
Packers should have trade did Aaron Rodgers when he threatened
the retirement off of that MVP season there was at
no point where I thought his value was going to
be as high as it was. And you know, and
and even like just to to end up moving on

(16:14):
probably was best because how many great years was Aaron
Rodgers really gonna have. But the point that you made
about his highest graded performance that he made, that comment
that he made on the Pat McAfee show two weeks ago,
you know, something that we had talked about here hit
my ear completely wrong. And today today when Rogers throws
what like three interceptions of the red zone. I know

(16:36):
there were two of them, for sure, but there that
there were there were three interceptions that were at least
in lines territory and deep in lines territory, and he
goes to the sidelines and is mouthing and yelling, and
you know what that that made me think to myself.
You know what, people are probably at home watching this
being like Rogers receivers did the wrong thing again, because

(17:01):
you know, like like that's and that's what the comment
of saying like I had my highest rated game or
graded game, that's what it can lead to. So you're
sitting there and I know Romeo Dobbs got hurt early
in the game, but you're putting him on blast. You're
putting Christian Watson on blast, You're putting uh, you know,
Alan Lazard on blast, who had a decent game today.
But but still, like those guys are feeling the wrath

(17:24):
of Aaron Rodgers comments. And for George, You're you're way
more of a savant. You played the game, You played
it at the highest level than I would be. And
I feel like I'm a pretty good football fan. There
are people, a majority of people just know that, hey,
if Aaron Rodgers just throwing interceptions and he's mad, it
may not be fault. Yes, it's gotta be the the

(17:45):
other guys guy's fault. And the other thing that that
just I'm sitting there, like, dude, he he was talking
about cutting reps and all of this other stuff. Do
we do we need to cut Aaron Rodgers reps after
this game? Because I mean, because, like, yes, sometimes as
quarter quarterbacks, you you get picks for other people's mistakes

(18:09):
and stuff like that. But come on, bro, like you
you get way more praise as the quarterback than than
you deserve, right, all quarterbacks do, but you but you
also get way old Kyler Murray, Oh yeah, I know,
more blame than you deserve too, so you you just

(18:32):
gotta take to take the good with the bad. And
he's like an he feels like an Okay, So when when? When? When?
When my grandfather got got ready to die? Right? And
I don't want this to sound like a morbid thing,
but the that a summer I was a senior in
high school. I was getting ready to leave to go
to university or again. And I went down there to

(18:55):
go visit him with my two sisters, and my grandmother
was there everything like that, but but she had left
like the so we would go down there for the
whole summer and we and she left like the last week,
and it was just us and Granddad there. Everything was
normal at first, and then grand Dad the whole trip
was kind of being kind of weird, and then he

(19:16):
was being kind of kind of mean and stuff, and
it was just not like my relationship with him for
the first eighteen years of my life. And then and
I called my auntie. I was like, Yo, we need
to come over there, and and my and my auntie
goes like, yo, I think something's going going on with
your granddad. I prayed about it. I don't know how
long he's gonna be up here. I go to University

(19:38):
of Oregon. Turns out that my grandfather died right like
my freshman year, a few months later. I didn't know
he was sick. Nobody really knew he was sick, and
and and all of that. But but but but the
point is is that he was he was old, and
things weren't going well in his life and all of
that stuff and his health and all of that, and
then he passed passed away. But in the meantime, he

(19:59):
was in an absolute jerk. And that's what Aaron Rodgers
is doing. And we're coming up on the end of
their career and he's been a jerk. Right now, What
an interesting analogy talk about. I mean, it went better
in my brain at first, But no, there's something there's
there's there's a connection. There there is and I'm sorry
for your grandfather's passing, but to be able to lay

(20:21):
it out like that, you know, the football career of
Aaron Rodgers and if it stays, if he stays in
Green Bay, George, these problems will continue and he's gonna
have to stay in Green Bay, like there is no
quick fix. Just like Darren Waller wasn't the quick fix,
just like Chase Claypool wasn't a quick fix or Brandon
Cooks or d J. Moore or any of the other
names that maybe were floated to Green Bay during the

(20:43):
trade deadline. Because he thinks he's the secret sauce. I
mean like he he is part of the sauce. And
and the difference is then not not not to Hidjack everything,
but there is a big difference in him saying after
they lost, I have my highest graded game of all time, right,
and then today his comments versus what Josh Allen said

(21:06):
after the game today. Josh Allen after the game today said, man,
it's hard to win when you're when you when your
quarterback plays like ish oh huh huh. So you know
what the rest of his teammates are thinking there, that's
that's my quarterback, Yes quarterback. They're like they're like, yeah, yeah,

(21:29):
I didn't I didn't play well either, but he just
took all the blame. So my quarterback. So so now
so now this week at work, I gotta go harder
because I know that Josh ain't ain't happy with itself, right,
So if the quarterback ain't happy with us, with itself,
and he did some things right, clearly right, and so

(21:49):
if he ain't happy with himself, I gotta step up
my game too. I mean, there's a total difference in
the way that these dudes are handling things. You mentioned
Kyler Murray. Okay, we're gonna Kyler Murray was scrambling with
the football in Seahawks territory, first down under a minute
to go in the first half, and then the ball

(22:11):
was jarred loose and he fumbled and recovered by Seattle.
I don't know who Kyler Murray's gonna blame for that.
Sauks took over at the twenty three, ran a few
plays and now they're at the half. But the car
don't had an opportunity on that drive to either tie
the game. I have an opportunity to tie with a
field goal or maybe even have a go ahead touchdown,
and Kyler Murray's loose handle on the football cost them.

(22:31):
Curious for what we have talked about so far in
the first thirty minutes of this show, George about responsibility
and again Kyler Murray barking on the sidelines. Again, that
was solely on the shoulders of the Cardinals quarterback. So
when you heard George say, oh my goodness, Kyler Murray,
that's what he was talking about. Monty is gonna be
here with a score update in just a sec. But
right now, let's focus on our fantasy numbers with our

(22:52):
executive producer Bo Benson, Fantasy heads and misses. There was
one guy that get it absolutely out of the park
today in fantasy football. I'm sure he's a part of
the hits both. Benson, what are you got all right?
Starting with the quarterbacks here? Um, isn't it weird? How
like when the Bears start playing to justin fields strengths,

(23:14):
he looks a lot better, Isn't that strange? Hundred and
twenty three yards passing, three touchdowns, a hundred and seventy
yards rushing and one touchdown for him today to Otago
by Lowa, Miami's quarterback three hundred two yards passing and
three touchdowns today. Headed to the wide receivers the Raiders
remember the Davante Adams is on their roster. He had
ten receptions for a hundred forty six yards and two

(23:36):
touchdowns and Tyreek Kill of the Dolphins seven receptions a
hundred forty three yards with a touchdown and then headed
to the running backs. I hope this is who we're
talking about. Joe Mixon a hundred fifty three yards rushing,
four touchdowns added fifty eight yards receiving and a touchdown
for five total touchdowns today and the Jaguars Travis Etten
a hundred nine yards and two touchdowns on the ground

(23:56):
for him today, Joe Mixon, Um, my goodness, my goodness.
Et En is great, but Joe Mixon, jeez, did you
play Joe Mixon? Do you play against Jill Mixing this week? George,
Thank goodness, I didn't that. I mean, he could literally
beat you all by him himself. That's how big of

(24:17):
a fantasy, Like some dude getting fifty five points all
by himself. My my son has him in both of
his leagues. He scored fifty five point two points in
in uh in in certain leagues five point two. You
can't beat fifty. I mean, what are you supposed to

(24:38):
do with fifty five point two points? I I I
have no idea. I have no idea on how you
top it. I saw it in our league like it's
it looks funny in the in the box score like
you like you see like twenties and thirties and stuff
like that. But it's funny when you see a fifty
one or he scored one of our leagues fifte point one,

(25:00):
and it's probably even more in another league where it's
a PPR league. So just absolutely craze. I have no idea.
I don't think that there's anyway to match that. Honestly,
I don't know if you would. It's one of those
weeks where I'd rather just my team stink when you
go up against a guy like that, so you don't
waste all your points in trying to keep up with
Jill Mixon. You. I am so tired of Fantasy here

(25:21):
right right now. I spent the first five weeks of
the season of the fantasy season five and oh highest
scoring team in the league, absolutely demolishing people right now.
Michael Thomas out for the season, somebody else on my
team out for the season. Uh, Darren Waller basically been

(25:46):
out for the damn season. Uh. Pits is just up
and down and pretty much bad all year. And now
I've gone from the penthouse to the outhouse. I'm gonna
lose four straight games with the lowest point total or
pretty much the lowest point total of the Week for
four straight weeks. Bro life stuff, life comes at you fast,

(26:09):
football for you. I need a mirror and and then
I made a trade and it just has not worked
out well at all. I traded away Jen Jalen Waddle
before last week's game. Well that's uh, that's tough for you.
If you want to find out more about Georgie's fantasy team,
follow me on Twitter to Reisler or or I don't

(26:30):
care about your fantasy team you're talking about as well.
Just kidding, just kidding. Uh, I've had such a mess,
I don't even want to talk about it. I know
she's had her own issues with fantasy football. I'm never
playing again. Yeah, I don't know if it's gonna be
therapy for you. But how are your clippers? Listen, let's
let's put the clip hold on. Put the clippers in

(26:50):
a pin because they're annoying me too. But we'll put
them on a pin and talk about them in a
little bit. Your Lakers are losing, by the way, but
that's a side to decide discussion. I'm playing against Joe Mixon, guys,
I am. I am playing against him. He scored fifty
one points again against me. In a standard league. So
the only way I can win is if Derrick Henry
scores sixty. So you know what I have? I have home.

(27:16):
You mean to be playing the Texans again? You could
be a high scoring game with Tennessee in Kansas City
and then all of a sudden, he has six rushing touchdowns.
Why not? Why not? Don't take it away from me,
because that's all I'm holding onto. Okay, five touchdowns against
me fifty one point. We'll go back to the games
that happened earlier today. Let's chicken with the two games

(27:38):
we have going on, since that's all going on right now.
Seahawks up on the Cardinals at halftime ten to seven.
Geno Smith, though has already thrown for a hundred and
forty four yards and a touchdown, and the Rams are
beating the Buccaneers seven to three with less than four
minutes to go in the first half. Matthew Stafford has
snown for ninety yards and a touchdown to who of course,
Cooper Cup his favorite target of all time, who is

(27:59):
four was options for eighty five yards and that touchdown.
So yes, earlier today, Joe Mixon scored five touchdowns as
the Bengals killed the Panthers. The score does not justify
how much they really killed them. The final score was
forty two to twenty one. At halftime, the Panthers had
only recorded one first down compared to the Bengals twenty

(28:20):
one one first down at halftime for the Panthers, and
then the Panthers were like, we need to do something.
What do we do? Baker Mayfield year next? So Baker
Mayfield came in into the second half, heat through for
a hundred and fifty five yards and two touchdowns. He
had not played since Week five, and the Panthers were
done thirty five zero at halftime, which was the largest
halftime deficit in team history. Nuts the Dolphins, they held

(28:43):
on to beat the Bears thirty five to thirty two.
The Chargers, yeah it was not pretty, but they won
with the last second field goal against the Falcons twenty
to seventeen. Justin Herbert through for two five yards and
a touchdown. He also had one interception. But Austin Ekeler
this was his tenth career game with a touchdown run
and a touchdown catch. Did you guys see that crazy
move where he like rolled over the defender and then

(29:06):
he kept running towards the end zone, but they said
he was down from the elbow. Short. Guys can do that.
I want to get into that. We're gonna get into
that later. Maybe we'll do it at Easter because I
think that there's something to that. I think that there's
a lot more at play to a play like that.
It was not it looks so crazy. It was crazy.

(29:27):
It was at more. I'm sorry, No, you go ahead.
I'll save my Eckler thoughts for you know, eight minutes
from now. All right, all right, sounds stop it. I'm
still talking about then, I'll stop it right now. The
Lions outscored the Packers to nine. Aaron Rodgers through three
picks in the red zone, the only time he's ever

(29:47):
done that in his career. Head coach of the Lions
after the game, Dan Campbell said, quote, be honest with you,
I'm exhausted. I want to go home and drink a
beer and quote and that's how I feel. After Joe Mixon,
the Raiders were up seventeen, dur at one point managed
to lose to the jag Wars twenty seven to twenty.
The Jets they held on to beat the Bills twenty
to seventeen, so the a f C East getting closer

(30:07):
and closer. The Bills are still in first place six
and two, but the Jets are right behind them six
and three, Miami right behind them six and three. A
close one there. And then we've got the Vikings that
managed to beat the Commander's twenty to seven teen. They
stand alone atop the NFC North with the record of
seven and one. Back to you, guys, we're not talking
about the Clippers. We're not playing right now, George, but
your workers are losing the Vikings. The Vikings, by the way,

(30:30):
would be a nominee for Most mid but with their record,
I don't think that there's any way that they win
the award. But I just I just have not sold
it again today the Commander. The Commanders have an opportunity
to get the football back and forcing Minnesota to a
field goal, and they get an unnecessary roughness call on
the field goal attempt, which allows Minnesota to get a

(30:53):
first down and run eighty seconds off the clock. So
instead of kicking the field goal with a buck fifty left,
was about twenty seconds left. And that's on Minnesota one today.
But it's all on the Commander. I don't know why, George,
I don't know why teams try to block field goals.
And I'm saying this purposely right now because Bobby Wagner
just made one heck of an athletic play and blocking

(31:14):
a long attempt from Ryan Suck Up. So the Rams
are still up seven three, But on a twenty eight
yard field goal or something like that, you've won, like
you've won the down by stopping them and keeping them
out of the end zone. To sit there and try
to do something stupid or get an unnecessary roughness penalty

(31:34):
like they did, Like to me, it's it's crazy, Like,
just take the win of allowing only three points and
allowing your offense to do something. We've seen penalties on
field goals multiple times this season where it's just completely unnecessary,
and that's what costs the Commanders today. I don't know
if they would have driven down and scored and tied

(31:56):
the game. All I know is that they barely had
a chance to do it at the end because there
was no time left on the clock. Just an awful
way to uh to lose a game if you're Washington,
to have a penalty called because you roughed up the
guy who snapped the football. Silly yep, just really really silly. Um.
Do you have any nominees for the most Mid that

(32:16):
you would like to uh like to nominate you named? Like,
just just a an absolute Jim. I think that they
should be front runners for the award, and that is
the uh, the Vikings. I think that the Chargers they

(32:38):
deserve some mid action as well. I've got another one.
I've got one New England Patriots. I think that they
are a nominee for most Mid because yeah, but I
expected them to be me, so they are? Are you? So? So?
Is it so? Can you win most mid when you are? Yeah? Yeah?

(33:03):
So so can you win most mid if you are
actually not? You know, if people expected you to be mid?
And the thing that's throwing me off right right now
is Andrew Siciliano. Uh. He's the guy who does red
Zone right former Fox Sports Radio. He's standing next to
another man and either this man is a giant or

(33:26):
Andrew is extremely short. I don't know. I don't have
red zone on. I've just got the the two games going.
I don't I'll have to have to look. Maybe I
don't know that. I do know that this man would
have been like seven ft two, if if if, if

(33:48):
Andrew's like five ten, then then this dudes like seven
seven ft two, seven ft four. So so it's it's
throwing me me off it phils. Yeah, it's just throw
me all off. All right, Well, we'll have an award.
We'll have an award announcement coming up here. It is
Fox Sports Red Zone Radio live from the Tirek dot

(34:08):
Com studios. He's George rice Stir. I'm Dan Buyer. Seahawks
continue to leave the Cardinals at the half. It's ten
seven two minute warning. Buccaneers have the football after the
Rams blocked that field goal, unable to do anything with it,
so the Rams punted it back to Tampa. Buck fifty
seven left to go until halftime at Tampa deep in
their own territory. Get George on Twitter at George rice Ster.

(34:29):
You can find me on Twitter at Dan Buyer. On Fox,
Monty talked about the Austin Ekeler play that happened in
the Atlanta Today. I'll tell you the problem I have
with that play next year on Fox Sports Radio. It's
a Fox Football Sunday. He's the NFL VET George rice Stir.
I'm Dan Buyer. Welcome in to Red Zone Radio. Get
George on Twitter at George Riceter. You can find me

(34:51):
on Twitter at Dan Buyer. On Fox. Buccaneers have at
some points Ryan suck up field goal from thirty eight
yards out is good, but it's the Rams still on
top of the Buccaneers seven to six with twenty seconds
to go until halftime. As for the Seahawks and Cardinals,
just underway in the second half, Cardinals ended up hunting
it back to the Seahawks. They got the football to

(35:11):
start the half. So now Gino Smith and Company operates
in their own territory facing a second into from the Seahawks.

(35:34):
Big green egg dot Com. My problem with the Austin
Ekeler play where if those you didn't see it, you
didn't see what happened tween the Falcons and Chargers today.
Ekeler at the football. I believe it was on a reception, George,
and the defender took him down and basically carried him
over his body where Eckler's need did not touch. I

(35:56):
think they ruled that his elbow ended up touching, and
that's why he is down on the play. The problem
I have with that sort of play, George, is if
you were a different defender, because there was one in
the neighborhood, if you went and lit up Austin Ekeler
thinking like his need didn't touch, thinking that it didn't touch,

(36:18):
you're getting fifteen yards like like, and that is that's
the problem with it. Like it's it's great body control
from Austin Ekeler, and it's something that not everybody can do.
But if we're in the business of keeping players safe
in essence, if you take a guy, wrap him up,
bring him down, and just because you bring him on
your body and his knee doesn't touch, to me, that's

(36:40):
almost the technicality. That's almost the throw you know on
the the touching of second base on a double play
vicinity sort of thing in Major League baseball. Yeah, yeah,
like that's that's the problem that I have today is
if Eckler is lit up on that play, the Falcons
defender gets fifteen yards, like you even saw a guy

(37:00):
kind of didn't know what he should do, and so
then Ecklo just ran the rest of the way and
you're thinking, Wow, he just scored his third touchdown of
the game. That's the problem with I that I have.
I'm that sort of the Dwire was down, Dwyer was down,
in case anybody knows, Dwyer was down in the National
Championship game Auburn Oregon, and and so and so. I

(37:22):
I get that more than probably most people do. I
understand it, and I think that your point is very
very valid, and that the officials they have to adjudicate
the situation assuming that the person does not know that
whether whether he's down or not. And if you're a defender,

(37:44):
you can't take take chances. You cannot. You must get
him on the ground, Like if he gets up and
proceeds to run again, that sounds like a personal problem.
It's like like, don't don't get up and run because
I thought I thought that you were down. That is
the football version of like like like like I was

(38:06):
in fear hear. I mean, yes, I was in fear
you were gonna score a touchdown, so I hit you.
And that is and and the officials can't be throwing
flags in situations like that. No, absolutely, absolutely, And that's
where I just I look at it today, and you know,
those those touchdowns sometimes feel really cheap when like when

(38:27):
you're kind of like prancing for the last thirty yards
looking back, not knowing if they blew it dead or not,
and then you keep going and then all of a sudden,
it's like, oh, touchdown. They'll take a look at it
like it feels weird anyway when it happens. But I
just think it puts the defender in such a such
a weird spot. Uh, this's just Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
H It's it's that time, George time. Yes, it's time

(38:51):
for our first award to be handed out. The most
mid team of the of the season so far are
in the NFL. Are you ready, George? The most mid
team nine weeks into the NFL season is the New
Orleans Saints Ladies and Gentlemen Saints. What a point differential

(39:18):
of minus one, so that is very mid. They've scored
a hundred ninety nine points. They have given up two hundred.
They are three and five. The New Orleans Saints the
most mid team right now in the National Football League. Dan,
I demand a recount. I don't know. I don't make it.
I just read what the envelope says. I told you

(39:39):
I thought it should be the Patriots, but that was
my mom. I would I would vote for the Minnesota Vikings.
Look at the look at the face of the Vikings.
I don't know if they're happy or sad that they
didn't win the Most Mid Uh. Coming up later on
in the show, the Holy Crap I was wrong about
him Awards, so that'll be coming up next hour. George,

(39:59):
get George Twitter again for any nominees at George rice Stir.
You can find me on Twitter at Dan Buyer. On Fox,
Rams and Bucks have gone to half lay up seven
to six, and that barn Burner well. The Seahawks continue
to hold their ten seven lead on the Cardinals. Kyler
Murray and squad have the football. Who is justin fields?
We'll talk about it next on Fox. The Cardinals offense

(40:20):
couldn't do it, so their defense just did. Zaven Collins
picked off Gino Smith. On George what looked like a
very simple throw that Gino just didn't get high enough
over the defender and Collins returned it back for escorts.
The fifth defense that's have touchdown for the Cardinals the season,
that's the most in the NFL. Extra point was good.

(40:41):
Cardinals have taken a fourteen ten lead on the Seahawks
eighteen left to go in the third quarter. So touch
pass and just trying to dump it over as he
was trying to hit Kenneth Walker, the third out of
the backfield. Just didn't get the pass high enough and
ended up being returned for a score. But a bad,
bad intersect and for Geno Smith. As we're broadcasting line

(41:02):
from the tire irec dot com studios, tire irac dot com,
we'll help you get there. And I'm at selection free Road,
Hanzard Protection and over ten thousand recommended installers tirerect dot com.
The way tire buying should be. He was a heck
of a play, is that he said, yes, sir, because
that because that was just a little swing pass and
he was engaged with the with the tackle and then

(41:23):
backed up and caught it. It was it was a
hell of a play. He reminded me of a play
that I that I made in high school when we
were playing against Monroe High School. And I remember when
I was playing like outside linebacker stats d n in
like a stand up position, first player. The game buzz
the slant right by my ear and I was like,

(41:44):
oh my god, I can catch that they are gonna
do I mean, you know, as a receiving player. I
was like, I can do this. And I was like,
the next time they do it, I'm gonna jump up,
catch it, jump up. Caught it in the in the
third or fourth quarter, ran it in for a touchdown. Yay,
look at that. And did they try to get after that? Uh? No, no, no,

(42:08):
not not to my thoughte. At least, I'll tell you what.
The next time Gino does it, he's gonna airmail Kenneth Walker,
I guarantee you, because you want to make sure that
it's not gonna happen again, and you're going to make
sure that you you get the football over the defender.
But the heck of a play by Collins and uh
returned it for a score. So uh the Cardinals up

(42:28):
four and again rams in bucks at the half as
he heard Monty say seven six rams in that contest.
So we have a matchup in Chicago that occurred earlier
today where if they're not the two most under the
microscope young quarterbacks in the National Football League, there are
both in the top five to a tongue about against

(42:49):
Justin Fields, and they put on an absolute show today.
And it wasn't necessarily with Fields doing it all with
his arm, because he did a majority of it with
his legs. Fifteen carries one hundred and seventy eight yards,
but his Bears fall three points short to the Dolphins.
Fields did throw three touchdowns to also three touchdowns over

(43:12):
three hundred yards wasn't picked off. I think more of
the story here George's Fields, his work today and what
seemed to I don't know, maybe kick the Bears, uh,
you know, in the backside for for whatever they did
against New England in that contest to have that ended
up carrying over and now to see what Justin Fields

(43:34):
has been been able to do against the Dolphins and
what he did on that Monday night game against against
New England. I know it's not the end all be all,
but it does seem like he's turned a little bit
of a corner with his career. Like if you were there,
there was a point in the season where Justin Fields
was looking like he was trending downwards. Now I think

(43:54):
the arrow is pointing up. Well. The the the first
thing is is that they have Okay when when he
came into the season, Dan, I think he had the
worst set of weapons of any in terms of wide
wide receiver tight end combination of anybody else in the league. Um,
his top wide wide receiver at that point in time

(44:17):
was Mooney And Mooney is a number two or number
three at best, right, Yeah, Yeah, I'd say he's it too. Yeah,
he seemed when Allan Robinson was in Chicago, Mooney seemed
to thrive in that number two spots. Yeah, that's what
I'm saying. He's he's a two or three at that like,
he's not a number one. And now with Claypool there,

(44:39):
it's going to help him out. And I think that
the team is also doing a lot more things to
help Justin now. And I mean and last year he
got hit, the office of line was atrocious, and they
were atrocious at the beginning of the season. So you
have to give the coaches credit for for what they've
done to improve not necessarily the actual talent or even

(45:03):
how how they're playing, but the way that they're scheming
to with the with the way that they're moving the
pocket and things like that to help the officsive line
be able to protect him. That's the thing that that
the coaching staff and and eber Flews in all of
those cats desire some credit for. When you look at
what Justin Fields is done in the first half of

(45:25):
the season. The first four games that he had uh
three out of the four games had a fifty percent
completion percentage or below. Since that there's been a fifty
one point nine, but everything has been above sixty and
and up. And listen, I know that win all those games.
There's only three wins on the season, but today was
a winnable game and there were times where the Dolphins

(45:50):
defense did not have an answer for Justin Fields legs.
It's why he has a hundred seventy yards rushing today.
And so when we sit there and we talk about
and again like this is this is what so annoys
me about the conversations that we have about quarterbacks, George
is because running is almost thought to be taboo, you know,
and and now, thank goodness, Justin Fields was able to

(46:12):
run because the Bears were in a football game, a
very competitive football game of the team that sure looks
to be like a playoff contender in the a f C.
So if if Justin Fields has to run at fifteen
times a game, which was the most that he's had
this year, uh most by one over the New England
game where he round the ball fourteen times, that's what
you need to do. And if he's making his progressions

(46:34):
and it's one to three and he's gone, that may
be best. I don't one and you're gone is not
what you want to do, George. But I mean, it
seems to me that the Bears are figuring out a
way where they could be successful when Justin Fields does
what he does best. And today he did what he
did best, and that was run the football. And there
were three points away from tying the Dolphins late in
this contest, Yes they were. And and those are the

(46:57):
things that you, like, you have to do works, but
also in that you have to try to keep your
quarterbacks safe on some level. Two, like think about his longevity,
like you don't want him to be taken, you know,
ten extra tackles on top of all the sacks and
all of that stuff, because that actually impacts how well
the quarterback can throw the ball as well. But because

(47:20):
of how sorry is his shoulder feel it feels weird,
all that all that sorts of things. But I think
the Bears, even though this game looked pretty good right
like on on on offense, they have to run the
ball better with their running backs. You know, I mean
the uh they're they're running backs got twenty one carries

(47:43):
for fifty nine yards. That ain't long of eight and
a long of five. That is not gonna cut it
Dan at all. No, And if you run the football
justin fields may have an easier time throwing the football
correct as well, so that that that can all help.
I'll just say this this is I don't think that
we're we're we need to make a blanket statement about

(48:06):
justin fields or the Bears or their direction right now.
But this is one of the things of Matt Eberflus
in his first year as a head coach. Luke getsy
in his first season as the offensive coordinator. It may
take some time, and I don't know if this is
gonna be the the solution for Chicago, but the things

(48:28):
are the Bears sure seem a lot better than they
did prior to entering that Monday night game. Like we
saw them on that Thursday night game against Washington and
it was not pretty. It was not pretty at all.
But something has happened in these three games, and I
think that is a that is a lesson. I think
that his first year, Justin Fields first year in the
NFL was an absolute nightmare for any first year quarterback

(48:50):
that would want to be there. There's questions if he
should start or Andy Dalton should start. You have a
head coach who doesn't really like anybody, and nobody really
likes him, and is with Matt Nagy and you know
that he wasn't gonna be there for the long haul.
So there's like, there's there's reason for like Justin Fields
to get some slack this season. And even though we

(49:12):
didn't see it in the first early on and we
want to move on from these quarterbacks so much. How
about the opportunity, you know, to give Matt Eberfleus, to
to allow Luke Getzi and to allow Justin Fields to
grow into something. I don't know if it's sustainable. George
History says, over twenty years in the NFL. Who knows,
but over a five year span of Justin Fields is
running the football like this because his athletics skills are

(49:34):
just completely off the charts. Was why he was so
highly recruited coming out of high school. If you could
continue to do that, yeah, get a running game. Justin
Fields is even more dangerous. Just really this three game
window and they've gone two in one of those games,
really impressive to see what Justin Fields has done. Yeah,
And truthfully, if we go back to that, to to

(49:55):
that draft class, right if we're if we're it, it
doesn't look bad right now. Like Trevor Trevor Lawrence, he looks,
he looks competent, like he knows what he's doing. But
this still to me feels like his rookie year because
his coaching was so bad last year and and and

(50:15):
the situation that he was just existing and and he
looks good at times this year and and it and
it feels like like the future feels pretty promising, I
would say, for him in the Jaguars. And then you
have with Justin Fields, the way things are coming up,
coming along, you have to feel hopeful and positive about that.

(50:39):
And then with Uh and then when you look at trade,
at trade Lance and Zach Wilson, you're like, okay, trade
the jury still out because he got hurt this year. Mac,
I'm not all that excited about and either New England's
really excited either. Yeah. So out of out of all those,

(51:02):
out of the five first round quarterbacks, if you get
three of them that are that are good and good starters,
you have beat the averages. And and then how would
you say that that that the six quarterback in Davis
Mills in that draft, who's the second round pick. How
do you think the Texans feel about him? I don't

(51:23):
think that they feel great. I don't think so either.
And so you know, and N plus where they're gonna pick, Like,
you can't sit there and be like, we're gonna give
Davis Mills another year. You can't like their roster is
atrocious though it is it is, and it will probably
be atrocious next year. But when you have the quarterbacks
that you think that you're gonna have, and they're gonna

(51:44):
be picking in the top five, maybe even at the
top one, that I mean, you move on. You don't
say we like what Davis Mills has provided us. You
have to draft c j Stroud or Bryce Young or
whoever you like in that top spot. Yep, can't can't
argue against him. But again he's the third round pick,
so he's not even you know, we don't you know,

(52:04):
I think he was the third round pick. Um they're
playing the house money with him. Yeah, absolutely totally agree
with that. He's George Roster. I'm Dan buyer. Football fans,
be sure to tune into Fox Sports Radios Countdown a
Kickoff presented by bet MGM on Sunday morning, three hours
before kickoff. That's right. Tune in on Sunday morning, ten
o'clock Eastern times. We take you live all the way
to kickoff on Fox Sports Radio and the I Heart

(52:25):
Radio app presented by bet MGM. Oh, George, it's that
time again. Uh yeah, we have another award this one,
uh the award for the Holy Crap. I was wrong
about him. Award a couple of nominees. Number one, uh
Tyreek Hill Miami Dolphins. I wasn't wrong about Tyreek Hill.

(52:49):
I didn't think you would work in Miami. I don't
think it was going to work at all. That was
my nominee for Holy Crap. I was wrong about him.
He's leading the NFL and receiving yards today, got an
the end zone again, seven catches, hundred and forty three yards.
That's one of the nominees for the Holy Crap. I
was wrong about him awards. Well, not not only is
he leading the NFL and yards, he's on pace to

(53:11):
break Conopon single single season record and past two thousand yards.
That's how unwrong it's going. Do you have any nominees
for the Holy Crap? I was wrong about him? Award um,
I would say the entire Dallas Cowboys team. I was.
I could not have been more I did not think

(53:31):
that this team would be as good as they are
after they lost week Week one two and Jerry Jones
was like, I'm so shocked that this. I was like,
why are you shocked? Did you? Did you see the roster?
And now I'm like, oh, I was totally wrong. I
could not have been more more wronger um and and well, yeah,

(53:54):
I did not expect that things would go as well
for two as they've gone, not even a little bit.
But some of the nominees that we've got, I've got
the I do have a whole and I do have
a whole bunch of holy crap. I was right about
that guy when everybody else was that'll be later, That'll
be later on in the show and the I Told

(54:16):
you so award. But now all right, it's time for
the winner of the Holy crap I was wrong about
him award for the first half of the NFL season
in our mid season Awards, and the award goes to
quarterback Gino Smith Seattle Hawks late uh and and and

(54:37):
right on que is Gino Smith? Is it Tyler Lockett?
From nine yards out? Extra point is good? Seahawks have
taken a seventeen fourteen lead on the Cardinals late Lutford
quarter You know, you know who who else could have
gotten that that award? But I do think that Gino
was the part was the most deserving of the award, right,

(54:58):
But the the other person who and and I was
right about this person, but that is justin Field. I'm sorry,
I mean Justin Fields. Jalen Hurts. Jalen Hurts interesting a nominee,
a great nominee, but did not did not make it
into the award. Genomes are taking the trophy home and

(55:20):
his names engraved on it. So and you know I
was I've been singing uh Jalen hurts his praises all
all off season. Yes, yes, and you are you were,
You were privy to some of that stuff as well
some of the the the stuff that that he did.
Rams are on the move, Darrell Henderson with a run
deep in the Buccaneer's territory. They're of one on Tampa.

(55:41):
We'll see if the Buccaneers defense bends but doesn't break.
Get George on Twitter at George Rice Stir. He can
find me on Twitter at Dan Buyer on Fox. Coming
up next the award for Best NFL Insider on Fox
Sports Red Zone Radio. That award has handed out. Next
here on fs are This is Fox Red Zone Radio,

(56:08):
and we've got the place that you may have missed.
Homer in the backfield. You know it's gonna throw the
end zone touchdowns Seahawks Tyler lock and right in front
of Buddha Baker just ran into the end zone, turn
around and said, hey, baby, throw me the ball. He did.
Seahawks go on Top six, Team fourteen. Now back live

(56:33):
to the studios of Fox Sports Radio. This is Fox
Red Zone Radio, Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. I'm Dan Buyer,

(56:56):
He's George Rice Stir. The NFL that as we hang
out on a Fox Football Sunday, we have got some
happenings in Arizona. The Seahawks forced to punt. They are
up seventeen to fourteen. That highlights courtesy of the Seahawks
Radio Network. Extra point was good after that highlight, by
the way, as you can tell, but up three. Cardinals

(57:17):
punted it away after a Kyler Murray sack. D J
Dallas muffed the punt but was able to recover, So
the Seahawks will take over first in ten at their
own eighteen. As for what's happening in Tampa, Buccaneers have
punted it away to the punted it's away to the Rams,
so the Rams have the football up ten six midway
through the third quarter. But we'll take over first intent

(57:39):
from the thirteen yard line. We are live from the
Entirect dot Com studios. All right, George, it's time to
announce another winner of our mid season Awards. Are you ready?
And the the category? The category was best NFL Insider

(58:21):
best in the shoutside this. I did not know this,
it's coming. You know, my people weren't warned about this.
I appreciate it. I don't. I don't have anyone to
accept in my behalf, so I have to accept it.
Very cool. Guy, oh man, what a wild day the
National Football League? Another one. You just don't know what's
going to happen. And I know when I talked to
some coaches around the league this week, for some of

(58:44):
the losing teams, I'm sure they won't be happy. And
it was certainly a wild week. Guy said, we have
the trade deadline. That happened, a lot of movement, ten
trades on Tuesday and Sunday has been a lot of fun. Now,
I want to start off because George and I started
off the show with this. But is Aaron Rodgers becoming
the problem in Green Bay? Sure? I mean stiok, it's

(59:04):
definitely part of it. I mean, let's think of it
this way, right. I don't know if these I mean
in one game I don't remember a game where he's
thrown two red zone picks. It's just Trevor Lawrence led
the NFL with three coming into today. It's hard to believe. Look,
we could say all we want, he doesn't have enough
talent around him. That's true. But some of the throws,
I mean, what the David baktr he was gonna be

(59:27):
to Batiri for a touchdown? Tacologible? I mean, how do
you not throw it over the guys? I just don't
understand how you throw that ball. I just I don't
understand it. He's not thrown with a lot of confidence.
They're struggling to see that. The other problems and I
don't know if people talk about this. I understand the
defensively give up fifteen points, but their defense is unbelievably talented,

(59:47):
one of the most talented defenses in the league. They're
not forcing a lot of turnovers and not make a
lot of big plays. They cannot carry the struggles of
the offense. And that's the other untold story of this
football team. And so now I guess the question is
how do they fix it? Because they are teetering. I've
I completely have written them all for the entire season

(01:00:09):
now in terms of a playoff team or anything even
better than that. Is that fair? Because I think what
happens sometimes. You know, coming into this season, we knew
that they were young, right, but now that Romo Dobs
has his ankle injury, we don't look bad. He was
carted off. They didn't have a very good receiver recorder

(01:00:30):
to begin with. You're always looking for some kind of
hope when you when you talked to front offices and coaches,
you know, they'll tell you, hey, this kid, we're gonna
start playing this kid now we think this guy could
get the job turned around and so forth. I think
I think what he said it's fair. I don't know
if there's anything. You know, the run game has also
not been good. They're a team that's sort of run

(01:00:50):
first oriented anyway, and that their offense starts kind of
with the run game and not be able to get
that going. It's hard. It's it's hard to imagine. Forget
about the DIVISI and obviously with Minnesota leading as they are,
and we'll get to them later if you want, because
the question could be can they even push for a
wild card? Look the if you if you just look
at the NFC, which is clearly the weaker conference. I mean,

(01:01:12):
the Niners are four and four, so yeah, the Packers
could hang in there for it. But they the same
thing I learned twenty years ago, teams don't always say
to me, we if you want to be a playoff team,
you have to do something. Well, tell me what the
Packers do that's good? That that you could say, would
they're really good at that? I can't find one thing complaining. Um,
I think, yeah, I didn't. I didn't run your first

(01:01:32):
conference yet. But yeah, it's uh, it's hard to believe
this is yet another team. You see what the Jets
do today, and then you see what the Packers do today.
That's the NFL for you. Yeah, I mean the Jets
are now six and three. Bills have two losses on
the season, both the division foes. UM. But for the
Jets side of things, like, is this defense legit? They

(01:01:54):
kept Allen out of the end zone throwing the football,
had a couple of touchdown runs, but turn them over twice.
I think he had read Z and turn over early
in the game. Is this Jets defense legit? It absolutely is? Okay,
So Mad Souce Garden gives up. The gives up a
big play of digs earlier early in the first quarter
after that shut him down. Were the highest graded quarners
in the league. And he happens to be a rookie.

(01:02:16):
Also had to pick in this game. Quinton Williams is
playing like a man's the best year that he's had
of his career. He's healthy. You know, he had a
mature a little, but he's doing a great job. Uh
d J Reid coming over from Seattle Dan and a
lot of people didn't know about him when he was
with the Niners. He turned his career around with it
with the Seahawks, got a big deal with the Jets.
That was a great signing they're getting. And then Quincy

(01:02:39):
Williams is Quentin's brother. Quincy came up from the Jaguars.
Has done a nice job. Look, they've got injuries on
the offensive line that are very concerning, which they've had
for several weeks now, but they're getting through with it.
They ran the book extremely well today, by the way,
that's one thing they wanted to do. And the big
thing is knows Zach Wilson picks. He made some good throws.
He very did a great job with Garrett Wilson. Boy,

(01:03:00):
they were they had great chemistry today. So if you're
a Jets fan, you've got to be encouraged. The only
the way their defense played, and the defense has been
really good all season. They round the ball and Wilson
did not have any bad turnovers. And I'm wondering about that. Well, well,
I know Robert sale is obviously he is keeping receipts
and waiting to cast them love. Um. Now going down

(01:03:24):
to the team I used to play for, the Jaguars,
they have now won three games. They beat the Raiders
after being up with twenty to three. Explained to me
what is going on with the Raiders. Yeah, Look, they
had a hugely Davante Adams just tells them in the
first half of them and they could not stop him.
It was almost hard to believe. And you know, when

(01:03:46):
the Jaguars were down seven, it looked like Adams was
gonna have over three hundred yards, that's how incredible he was,
but they kind of slowed him down a little bit. Um.
And the other thing is Josh Jacobs has been going off.
They kind of on a control him and Derek Carr
was efficient but had some a couple of places you'd
probably like to have back. But I gotta I gotta

(01:04:08):
give Trevor Lawrence credit. He made place when he had to.
And Travis E. Tienna's this is more or less, folks,
his rookie season because remember because of the lift Funk injury,
he didn't play last season as a rookie. What a
job he's doing. But they lost five after winning the
first two games, and let's put a proper perspective, it's
still three and six. But there's a lot of young

(01:04:28):
talent on that team, and you know drewd from playing there.
They will support that team if you win. I know
it's been you know since seen where they came out
of the blue, but they will support that team if
if they could win. That's been the problem. They just
I've been there at George. I've actually been to that stadium.
This is before your time when I think it was
with a job in Stewart, James, James Stewart a running back.

(01:04:50):
I think James James. Yeah, it was a game where
I think he had four touchdowns or something against Philly. Uh,
that place was rocking the old Gator ball whatever they
call it now. But now they'll support it if if
they went no, no, you are, and especially since they
like the One of the things that was hard about
Jacksonville was that they prior to the team showing up,

(01:05:11):
they were Steelers fans or Cowboys or somebody else. And
now it's been over twenty years, well well well yeah,
since the team has been in existence that now you
have so many children and people who are who have
been quote unquote lifelong Jaguars fans, and it's being ingrained
into the community. No, it's a great story. Look again,

(01:05:31):
let's look at the record. It's not very good at
three and six. But here's the thing. Yeah, very talented.
Uh and I know talking to a couple of teams
that played them earlier of the season, they were a
little bit surprised when they went through their tape, like, wow,
they're they're they've gotten a lot younger, they've turned this
roster over, they've they've drafted well lately. So it's just
gonna take time and Trevor Lawrence has to play better.

(01:05:51):
But today he bounced back after struggling for a bit.
Adam Kaplan our Fox Sports Radio NFL in Center, joining
us here on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He's George Rist,
I'm Dan buyer. You mentioned the Vikings win against the Commanders.
I have more of a question about the Commanders and
the Dan Snyder situation. Jake Glazier reporting that what he
wants seven billion from it and would would let it go. Um,

(01:06:13):
that seems to be just this enormous dark cloud over
that franchise, and it is what it is. But George
and I aren't believers in Minnesota, but their record says
that they're one of the best teams in the NFL.
What's your take on the Vikings after their winning Yeah,
they to win close games, that's important. I look at
that this team and they got absolutely smoked in Philly.

(01:06:33):
They didn't play well on either shot of football. But
since then they've bounced back. You know what, This the
untold story about the football team is and and it's
been a problem for them for years, but they finally
got their offensive line right and they're protecting Kirk Cousins
and Justin Jefferson obviously is an absolute star. But the
story of this football team is how well their offensive
line is played, they're protecting them, and their defense is

(01:06:55):
getting after. They have an excellent front seven, their secondary
isn't great. I think that's sort of problem do them
in in the end in the playoffs. But yeah, they're
they're clearly the best team in the division and one
of the best teams in the NFC. But yeah, I
don't really believe with parcel I'm not believer what Parcelis
has said. You're as good as your record says you
are bad or whatever. The Kings may be. They've had

(01:07:15):
a nice schedule, they've done a good job, but I
don't think they're quite as good as seven and one.
I totally, I totally agree that they feel like the
just such frauds at seven and one. Um. Now the
the Colts. They benched Matt Ryan for this for for

(01:07:36):
for Sam Ellinger, he was horrendous. I mean, and I mean,
and at least Matt Matt Ryan will like have some
good games in between. How much longer can they keep
up with the same Amountinger thing? Actually, I'm told guys
that here's what happened. Okay, So I know there's been
a lot of speculation and why they pulled the plug

(01:07:57):
after seven games. They don't only have a tackle Dennis
Kelly is a journyman. The right tackle guard is playing
left tackle. He's the third string to left tackle. You
have another there, another problem, one of the guard spots.
So to me, guys that the key here is they've
got to rebuild this offensive line and until they do,
it's just it's it's going to be a problem. Um.

(01:08:19):
The other thing is they thought alger because he's a
pretty good athlete, would be would be least help them.
It hasn't happened. He's clearly not ready. It's it's a disaster.
And this is seventh starting quarterbacks now since Frank Wick
has been the head coach. Well, how the eighth next year,
they're not. Ryan, by the way, has got a great
two separation on his right shoulder, so he can't play anyway,

(01:08:40):
and they don't really want to go to Nick Foles.
You know. The craziness is is they were a game
and a half out of first place when they made
the change. It's bizarre to me, and I know, I
know that there's also a concern if Ryan suffered a
debilitating injury, about him passing the physical physical next year
and making some of salary guarantee next year. I get that,
But you're right, George, he actually played remember against your

(01:09:01):
Jaguars fifty seven attempts, which is occur high. And he
brought the team back to win. And then the next
we get a clunker against the Titans. Yeah, it was
a clunker for sure. Seahawks in the end zone Kenneth
Walker the third of the touchdown run um final one.
What is the situation with the commanders? For what you're
hearing with Dan Snyder? And look, I'm not doubting the reports.

(01:09:21):
I found him one work for Snyder when they were
the other team name before the name change, and he
worked in the business department. Said Listen, he goes gotta
understand that this team, this team is like a it's
like a living entity for him, it's like a it's
like a family member because this is the team that
he grew up with and he wanted to buy. This
is the biggest thing in his life other than his family,

(01:09:43):
and it means so much to him. But because of
the pressure that's around him, Guys, it's the legal stuff,
it's what's been alleged, it's investigations, and I you know,
it's funny of all the reporting, I believe Jay's report.
I think it will be between six and seven billion.
You have to understand the Broncos one for just under

(01:10:03):
five million excuse me, five billion. These teams just simply
don't get become available. Oh yeah, and remember that TV
money hits three. That's the first year of the hundred
billion dollar UH, the deal the NFL has with their
media partners. This is a big tenure and this is
the tenure deal. That's the big reason why Snyder if
he if he does, indeed, Cell and by the way,

(01:10:26):
even I don't think anyone would buy this team and
not get all of it. I think it's either all
of it or heat or they don't buy it, whoever
that's gonna be. I just don't think they're gonna one
have Snyder's a partner. That's just my understanding the situation.
He's Adam Kaplan, our Fox Sports Radio NFL insider. Get
him on Twitter at Kaplan NFL and the UH recipient

(01:10:46):
of Best NFL Insider on Fox Sports Spots on Radio.
Thanks Adam, we'll talk to you next week and will
you be able to hold on to his title when
we do our end of season awards. George June in
nine weeks from now here on Fox Sports Radio. Here
is George Dan buyer. It is a Sunday in the NFL,

(01:11:07):
and Mons Milans is at the news desk keeping us
up to date on all of it. What's going on?
Oh yeah, you guys are just talking about the Commanders.
There's a report that Kevin Durant net star, who has
been a big Washington Commander star or a fan excuse me,
he's interested in being part of the team that buys
the Commanders. And then a couple of days ago, you know,
it came out that billionaires Jeff Bessos and Jay Z

(01:11:32):
are also interested in that a partnership is on the table.
But now Kevin Durant has come out saying that he's
interested too. Not not not a good three headed monster there. No.
The problem is is that like as much money as
Jay Z and them have with the with the NFL rules,
they don't have They have enough money to be my

(01:11:53):
minority owners, but they don't have enough money to be
majority owners because at least, it states the NFL rules,
at least one at least one person has to own
at least thirty or thirty three percent of the team.
So that's two billion dollars at six billion, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

(01:12:16):
The good old thing. Yeah, I'm saying, but but they
would have to be minority owner for sure. The other
thing with Durant, and it actually may not be cool,
is he would probably want to own another team three
years from now, So don't do that. Don't do that.
He is nah. I I agree with Dan on that one.

(01:12:39):
But yeah, Dan mentioned that Kenneth Walker the third rush
for a touchdown, putting the Seahawks up further on the Cardinals.
Fourteen is to score. Seven minutes to go in the game,
and the Rams have extended their leaving their lead over
the Buccaneers, but just by a field goal, so they're
up ten to six. They were up at one point.
Now it's ten to six with less than three minutes
to go in the third quarter. Other NFL news, we

(01:13:01):
got one game tonight and it's the Titans and the Chiefs,
and it seems as though quarterback Bryan Tannehill is going
to be a true game time decision. I keep checking.
There is still no update he has that ankle issue.
If he's not good to go, then it's gonna be
rookie Malik Malik Willis for the second straight week, but
still no report. Now the Ravens have announced that tight
end Mark Andrews has officially been downgraded to out. He

(01:13:24):
will not travel with the team to New Orleans for
Monday Night football, and the Associated Press Top twenty five
College football poll came out Georgia Georgia ten told that
number one, receiving sixty two of sixty three first place
of votes. Number two, Ohio State received that other first
place vote. Michigan moved up to number three, and TCU

(01:13:45):
jumped three spots to number four, which is their highest
ranking since late in the seventeen season. Tennessee felt three
spots to number five, and Alabama dropped all the way
down to number ten. Number six Oregon, number seven in
l s U, number eight USC and number nine. You
c l a number six? Number six is Oregon? Okay, okay,

(01:14:09):
I'm surprised to Alabama didn't move up after their loss.
I cannot wait until the team that's number two in
the country has to play the team that's number six
in the country in the playoffs. I cannot wait. Way,
ain't that right? Boy? Either can't wait and beat the Lakers? Right? George,

(01:14:38):
you wanted to know in your heart, you wanted to know,
you wanted to know that Westbrook had seven turnovers off
the bench. Thanks, hold on, hold on, hold off. Now
now it is funny to laugh at Westbrook and and
poke fun when when does play poorly. But I hope
that everybody is keeping that same energy because he has
had a couple of good games. I agree with you.

(01:14:59):
I think he has stepped up off the bench. It's
worked out better. But Anthony Davis, for I think the
second straight game didn't score in the fourth quarter. Come on, yeah, hey,
a d did not score at all in the fourth
quarter for the second straight I hope you all keep
that same energy for the Lakers as you do for
the Pistons, because that's how much we should be talking
about the second worst team in each of these says.

(01:15:22):
We are even talking about the Lakers because they had
the greatest player of all time on the on the team.
Dan George Rice Stir likes to poke at me, so
I'm poking out Hill. I know my Stephen didn't require
answers about ten o'clock tonight. About ten o'clock tonight, please
do please do okay man, all right, thank you very much.

(01:15:45):
Mony Rams kicked the field goal. Buccaneers gotta stop. So
it's thirteen to six. Seahawks may have forced to turn
over their up ten six minutes to go. Ron Dale
Moore caught a pass from Kyler Murray. Ball was Jarred
Lucien recovered by Jordan Brooks of the Seahawks. The question
is did Rondel Moore have possession and make a football move?

(01:16:06):
If he did, it'll be the Seahawks ball up ten
at midfield with the ability to grind out more clock.
Get George on Twitter at George rice Stir. You can
find me on Twitter at Dan Buyer. On Fox. Coming
up next, we give out another award. All right, so
you ready for this, George, the uh the award for
oh hell nah? Okay, you know, hell nah. That's that's

(01:16:30):
what's gonna come up next. Plus plus I have a
new nickname for a team in the NFL, team that
George loves to hate. That's next year on Fox Sports
Red Zone Radio. This is Fox Red Zone Radio and
we've got the place that you may ad miss. Walker

(01:16:50):
stays in the backfield. Geno from The Shotgun Walker has
a Walker bounces in touchdowns. Get a masterful drive by
Gino Smith. The blocking up front opening the holes for
Ken Walker. The third and he scores from a yard out.

(01:17:11):
Now back live to the studios of Fox Sports Radio.
This is Fox Red Zone Radio. It is Fox Sports

(01:17:34):
Red Zone Radio. I'm Dan Buyer, He's George Rice or
the NFL VET call there on the Seahawks radio network
gave the Seahawks some breathing room. For that breathing room
has shrunk because Kyler Murray's just hit zach Ertz for
a short touchdown pass extra point was good Seahawks. With
three thirty two left to go in that game, both

(01:17:56):
teams have all their time outs. Uh So the Seahawks,
if they want to run out the I will have
to get a couple of first downs because Arizona can
stop the clock. A bunch rams are up on the
Buccaneers thirteen to six early in the fourth quarter. They're
taking over first and ten from their own twenty yard line.

nickname because it fits so well with us on this show.
You're ready, okay, Minnesota the Minnesota Vikings. Do you like it? Yeah,

(01:18:43):
Minnesota Vike. Yes they are. They are seven and one,
but they feel so neat. I mean, their their midness.
They are the media ist of the mid of the Miters.
It's we would call them the Minnesota Vikings until they
win a game that they shouldn't. Is that is that?

(01:19:05):
Or or maybe they go to Green Bay. And even
if the Packers are they you don't get credit for
beating beating the Packers right now. The Lions just beat
the Packers. I mean they, I mean when when you
look at their their schedule in hindsight, right Packer stink
Lions stink st stink Bears aren't good. The offense didn't

(01:19:26):
have a quarterback when they played him. The Cardinals stink.
The command that they've beaten one team with a winning
record the entire season and they didn't have their quarterback.
And and that's the and that's the Dolphins. One that's
the definition of I mean, I guess you can't do
anything else because that's all you've played besides the Eagles
who drowned you. So yeah, we will. We will see

(01:19:51):
when they play the Bills this upcoming week because the
Bills are gonna be mad, okay are Oh hell? No
award will be given away next hour plus the conclude
lusion of these uh two late games, both just one
score games in Tampa and in Arizona. Get George on
Twitter at George Royster. You can find me on Twitter
at Dan Buyer. On Foxes, we are alive from the
tirect dot com studios and there's one organization need to

fast free shipping, free road hazard protection, and over ten

(01:20:34):
thousand recommended installers tirect dot com the way tire buying
should be. Seahawks had a little bit of a dilemma, George.
They were first down and goal at the Cardinals five
yard line two twenty ago, up three in the Cardinals
were out of time outs. Could have run a playguard
on the two minute warning, taking a couple of knees,

(01:20:55):
brought it under forty seconds for fourth down. Maybe try
to cash in. Said no, we're gonna give it to
Kenneth Walker and then he's gonna score. And they're up
ten now with fourteen left to go. As the extra
blob is good. So just the Seahawks grinding away. By
the way, when we spoke to you last, the Cardinals
had gotten within three and the Seahawks had the ball

(01:21:15):
inside there on twenty yard line, but a big pass
play from Geno Smith to no Ah Fanse set him up.
That was pitiful defense. I mean he he caught a
five yard pass and then just ran up the sideline
and then he was like, oh wait, hold on, I'll
run faster since I don't want to tackle me. It
was it was pitiful defense. It was not good. It

(01:21:39):
was not good for the Cardinals, and that set up
the Seahawks to add more points. So now Kyler Murray's
gonna have to work his magic down ten with two
o nine left to go, no time out for Arizona.
As I mentioned, as for the Rams and Buccaneers, and
what is thought to be the game of his late
window nine now is Ryan suck Ups field goal is

(01:22:02):
good from fifty yards. So the Buccaneers are within four
with eight oh seven left to go in the game,
and the Rams gonna have to rely likely on Matthew
Stafford or Cooper Cup to make another play in this one.
The running game is Darryl Henderson's got about fifty yards
or so for uh for the Rams. Actually I can
tell you exactly it's got fifty five yards in leading them.

(01:22:24):
But the biggest place for the Rams today have been
the sixty nine yard touchdown past to Cooper Cup. In
another past to Cooper Cup that ended up setting up
the Rams for for some points later on. But if
the Rams are gonna want to uh get this game
go back to l A with a big victory, I
think they're gonna need to make one more play and
I think it will likely come from Matthew Stafford and

(01:22:44):
Cooper We are we are literally watching Colts Broncos or
Commanders Bears on Thursday night right now. Except for this
is supposed to be the game in a week. There's nothing,
there's This is bad quarterback play ever play bad. I mean,

(01:23:06):
this is terrible football in terms of like the expectations
that you have of Tom Brady, the expectations that you
have of the defending Super Bowl champion Rams. It is
Oh Lord, have mercy. It's bad. But so when when
I and Monty said this name, Cameron Dicker, what does

(01:23:32):
that remind you of when you hear his name? Doesn't
doesn't remind me of anything, George Well for for me,
every time I hear um Cameron Dickers. All I can
hear is Gus Johnson's voice from eighteen when when they
were doing the game on Fox and they were playing

(01:23:54):
against and he was at Texas and they were playing
against Oklahoma and he kicked the game winner and Gus
yelled in his most gusty voice Deckert Locker. And and
every time I hear his name, I hear Gus Johnson's voice,
it is tattooed into my brain every time I hear

(01:24:17):
Dickert like that. That's how you know that you've you've
made Like if you when you're a broadcaster and you
can make those calls and and keep them in your
head like that's what you know, like like you have
made it. I mean truly, like if you like Gus
Johnson has made it so much of the fact that

(01:24:39):
like he's come into your you know, everyday vocabulary or
it's just there's always a constant reminder of you. That's
what makes that's what makes Berman's nicknames so great. Like
as you when you're watching NFL Prime Time back in
the day, you're just like, oh boy, hears Berman. But
now how many times do you go a jem Man

(01:25:00):
and or you know the rates or if Dion Sanders
highlight pops up and you just start channing prime Time
like that is Bill Bill Bill Rafferty. He saying onions, yes,
get get those puppies organized. I think, I think after
he still says man to man even if they're not

(01:25:20):
in man demn cot or Michael Jordan's with the spectacular move,
like you can like you can never forget those those
like certain moments because that, like you said, they become
etched into your brain because it was such a legendary call. Well,

(01:25:44):
this is what's going on. The Cardinals are facing a
fourth and ten down ten to the Seahawks with a
minute fifteen to go. They've got the ball out their
own twenty six yard line, Rams and Buccaneers get thirteen
to nine. But the Buccaneers have just gotten the Rams
on for was the Rams of three and out, so
now they will punt it back to Tampa. Tampa only

(01:26:05):
down four now, so time goals. Oh that's cold. Uh.
The fourth time Matthew Stafford has been sacked came on
that third mint. The best thing I got going on
my fantasy team all year is, uh is Ryan Ryan
suck up as my kicker because because they don't score touchdowns, so,
but they're good enough to move the ball. They're gonna

(01:26:27):
have the ball uh at about the forty yard line
when uh of their own forty the Buccaneers will The
Cardinals got a procedure penalty, so now it's fourth and
fifteen and uh the ball is knocked out of the
hands of zach Ertz. So now Geno Smith and the
Seahawks can take any and George. They can take their

(01:26:47):
six and three record to Germany, where they will face
these Buccaneers who we were talking about on Sunday. I mean,
the Seahawks is gonna go into that guy even looked
at the early lines, but I mean, will the Seahawks
be favored in that game, like there's no reason to
think there's nothing should be Yeah, this way, I want

(01:27:08):
to know to what was the over under in the
Ram sea in the Rams Buccaneers game. I'm forty two
and a half. Forty two and a half. That was
like that. That's like a million I know. I know.
It's when you when you look at these two teams
offenses and the troubles that they're having, and well, you

(01:27:30):
know what, I will say this in defense, the Buccaneers
defense hasn't been anything to write home about lately. Uh,
the Rams defense sure seem to have kind of taken
things personal today. Bobby Wagner at that black field goal,
Aaron Donald's been in the backfield going after Brady. But
the Buccaneers did just get a first down. So they
are in Rams territory, just across midfield with five minutes
to go and Gino Smith taking the final knee as

(01:27:53):
the Seahawks again, we'll leave Arizona. We were talking about
with Adam Caplan a variety of topics, and you brought
up the Colts in the same Am Ellinger, Uh, it's
not a Samuel debacle, but the Colts are a debacle
right now and I guess my My question is we've
already seen the Panthers move on from Matt rule. If

(01:28:16):
you're if you're Indianapolis and you're Jim Er, say, do
you find any advantage to making a change at head coach?
At head coaching general manager at this point in the
season but completely overmatched again today to the Indianapolis Colts.
If you are Jim or said, what would you do
with your organization? I gotta get a new general manager

(01:28:38):
because my general manager is the one that keeps putting
me in this quarterback situation. I mean, he's he the
he's got a fall on the sword because he's the
one who keeps getting me into this quarterback situation. Like
you you went and you keep shopping into scratching dent being.
I cannot make sense of when they brought in Philip Rivers.

(01:29:01):
I was like, you think that this is gonna get
you a championship, all right? And and even if it does,
then what about the future. Then they're like, I forget
the future, and and my mind, you they had had
Jacobe Brissette the year before, so they had time to
get a quarterback, like like they had time to find

(01:29:23):
a reasonable plan Okay, the Philip Rivers thing doesn't work out.
So now you're like, all right, cool, let's do Carson Wentz. Listen,
Frank Reich is familiar with him. We may have found
a situation to where like it's just not good, right,
but but it's not good for him in Philly, but
maybe he will have a resurgence with the old coach

(01:29:45):
blah blah blah. So he that doesn't work. So then
they're like, oh, I got the answer. Oh that as
Matt Matt Ryan who is And Matt Ryan has been
a really good quarterback throughout his career has been an
m v PS. I'm not besmirching the man's credentials, but
I am saying that he is he was not even

(01:30:09):
as good as Philip Rivers was at the time that
Philip Rivers went to to the occults like you got
guys in like year fifteen plus, Like what did you expect?
Like you're looking at Drew Brees at the end of
his career. It just ain't the same. Yeah, there's there
there's a way that you could maybe reason Philip Rivers.

(01:30:29):
Maybe there's a way that you can bring me reason
Carson Wentz Like, if you mentioned the relationship. You cannot reason,
Matt Ryan. No, No, it was at that point in
time you you needed to be like, all right, cool,
we need to either get in on Russell Wilson. We
need to trade for like somebody who can who can

(01:30:50):
at least be a five year answer, or just say
we're not doing this this year and we just have
to get in the quarterback business for next year. Like
I'm not trade and draft picks, none of that, and
we're just gonna be bad this year. I'm sorry, I
don't know what to tell you. I mean because other
otherwise you keep going on this circle of dysfunction, just

(01:31:11):
like the Washington Commanders are doing. Yes, And I just
want to let people know. The Buccaneers are driving. They've
hit a couple of past plays downfield. Uh, they now
are facing a second and goal from the Rams six
yard line. Clock is moving two eleven to go and
counting Buccaneers of all three of their time outs, but
at second and goal from about the six and a

(01:31:31):
half yard line, and Tom Brady is now going to
have to use a time out. My goodness, Oh, Tampa
had all three time outs, but now on second and goal, Like,
if you don't if you don't get second and goal here, um,
you at least have three timeouts, can maybe get a
stop and get the football back or do whatever. But
now uh Tampa having a trouble getting into the end zones.

(01:31:54):
George talked about UH down four of the Rams thirteen
to nine, two or six left to go, but using
a time out in second goal from the six back
to the Indianapolis Colts. You know where I think, and
this is not an excuse at all, George. I wonder
how much they were lulled because of the division that
they were in where you have two teams that aren't

(01:32:17):
close to contending in Jacksonville and Houston. So you're just
saying yourself, we just gotta beat Tennessee. Were just at
the Tennessee's gotta beat Tennessee and you're trying to figure
out ways. And by the way, Scotty Miller just dropped
the touchdown pass with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Uh in
his hands, got to his pads, jumped up, and U

(01:32:38):
completely dropped the team forward. Stuff like this. They are
they are hanging on by a thread, bro hanging on
by a thread. And this is not the sort of
ant like you can't have this happen. Hit him in
the face mask, that's where hit him, dude. The only
way Tom Brady could have thrown a better pass as

(01:32:58):
if he had handed it to him. I mean, if
he had walked to him and just handed it to him.
He hit him in the numbers. He's wide open. What
why did you? Why did he jump? First of all,
and then the second thing is do not catch the
ball on your body, catch it with your hands. Good god,
that is like the first The only time you catch

(01:33:21):
the ball in your body like that is in traffic
and all of that stuff. And they have six drop
passes today. Six. They don't have room for that now.
The third down play also felt incomplete. Tried to hitting
at the goal line, ball was jarred loose. That's more reasonable,
that's that's more reasonable. Yes so. But it's gonna be

(01:33:43):
fourth and goal from about the six and a half
yard line, and the Buccaneers at the two minute warning
have two time outs, so they don't get it here.
They can use two time outs, the Rams can take
about a minute off the clock, and and if they
would get it first down, the game would be over.
Tampa doesn't score here, obviously, but that's that's the scenario.
I just bring up the a f C South George

(01:34:05):
because it felt like the Cults were making moves that
they were one player away, that they were a quarterback away,
and it just doesn't seem that they they are. And
now you're in a scenario where you're best player from
a year ago, Jonathan Taylor is off injured. This year,
your best defensive player, Shack Leonard has hardly been on

(01:34:25):
the field for the first half of the season, And yeah,
you make all these decisions and and I just I
wonder like, were you trying to keep up with the
Chiefs and Bills or were you trying to keep up
with the Tennessee Titans. And I know Tennessee had the
best record in the NFL or in the a f
C last year, but we didn't think they were the
best team in the a f C. And like, looking

(01:34:46):
back just at it today and like thinking about it,
like was that what the Colts were aiming at was that, like, hey,
we win the division and you know, you know, take
care of the rest. And the moves that they made
make me feel like like they were comfortable in their
division that they didn't on the bottom out because you
could still beat the Texans, you could still beat the Jaguars. Well,
they can't beat the Jaguarson Jacksonville. It's a whole other story.

(01:35:06):
But that they felt like, Hey, this is all we
need to do. And I wonder if they fell victim
to it. And I agree with you. I think you
need to clean everything out. I think that you need
to bring in new ideas because in this window that
you thought you had, it has not worked on the window.
Oh the windows closed because the forest Buckner's damn near

(01:35:27):
in need of a new contract. Shack shack, leonard Um.
You have Jonathan Taylor is gonna want a new contract
after next year, and you have killed his value this year.
I mean, I mean, I I think that if he
were to go in a trade, that teams would trade
for him and give good value for him, because when

(01:35:50):
you look at the film, you're like, oh, it's not him.
He's got nowhere to run and he doesn't have and
and their opensive line problems. They can block for anybody
for the pass game order run games, So he he
might be wanting a new situation too. It's uh. I
I just and I said, oh, because Brady Threw went

(01:36:12):
into the end zone and the ball was tipped up, deflected,
falls incomplete, could have been intercepted, could have been caught
by another buccaneer, but instead, so the Buccaneers drive stalls
at their own six yard line and uh, all right,
the Rams six yard line. Excuse me, So the Rams
will take over on down Spuccaneers have two time outs left,

(01:36:33):
so again the Bucks can get a stop here. They
probably get the ball with about fifty seconds to a
minute left with no time outs, but still would need
to get into the end zone, something that they haven't
done at all today. He's George rice Stir, I'm dan Buyer,
will bring in the conclusion of this game, plus the
rest of our awards. Plus we have m v ps
coming up later on the show and coming up next.

(01:36:55):
We know Joe Mixon hit a fantasy home run today
or a Grand Slam or what's even more, the Grand Slam.
But what about the guys who didn't produce in fantasy.
We'll tell you who they are next year. He's George Riceter,
I'm Dan Buyer here on Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports
Red Zone Radio, and Tom Brady has done it again.

(01:37:17):
George Rice Stir. They left him too much time. They
left up like the like they were playing prevent deepens
And and I blamed Sean McVeigh for this. First thing
is Sean, Sean McVeigh had no business just giving up

(01:37:39):
the first down on that like not trying to get
the first down on third, third down. He had no
business he played prevent offense. And uh. And what what
does prevent do prevent you from winning that you didn't
let me answer. I was gonna say that exact same thing, Kate.
The seven yard touchdown reception extra point by Ryan suck

(01:38:00):
Up was good the Buccaneers. They were able to get
that three and out. They had about forty five seconds
left on the clock and the George's point Rams let
him get a pass in the middle of the field.
Oton had one. Uh, Scotty Miller had a couple of catches,
got out of bounds. Of course he dropped the touchdown
pass that that would have given them the lead on
the previous drive. But then the Buccaneers they were set

(01:38:22):
up George really in the same exact spot as they
were on the previous possession. They had a second down
and goal from the six yard line. They threw a
slant to Mike Evans in the end zone. Pass interference
brought it to the one. And that's actually so it
wasn't a seven yard as the one yard touchdown pass.
My bad on the stat number, but that's what The

(01:38:44):
one yard touchdown pass from Brady to Kay Dotton got
the Buccaneers into the end zone. And Sean McVeigh is fuming.
You can see it. You can see it in his eyes.
Defense got to stop the Rams, couldn't get that first
down that they needed to run out the clock, and
Brady ends up burning them. It's sixteen and thirteen at

(01:39:04):
Rams don't have any more time outs. There's only nine
seconds left on the clock. So the Buccaneers are going
to uh kick it away to l A and we'll
see if they just take the touchback, and yeah, they'll
take it over uh first down in tent from the

Rams now three and five if they don't do anything
on this last nine seconds of this game. Buccaneers improved

(01:39:47):
a four and five. They were helped up by the
Chargers today who beat the Falcons, So the Buccaneers have
a chance to move up in the division again. We'll
see what kind of defense the Rams play that we'll
get a look or the Buccaneers play, then we'll get
a look at our fantasy numbers from Bow Benson, our
executive producer. And now the Rams have a false start,

(01:40:08):
so they're gonna have to go eighty yards now instead
of seventy five yards. But man, you're right about the
you're right about the prevent defense on on just getting
the cushions, because that's all Brady took. Took the one
over the middle that got him a good chunky yard
it's probably yards, and then it was dinking dunk on
the sidelines and set them up and then the past

(01:40:30):
interference call in the end zone sets them up on
the first and goal at the one man. And if
you're the I just don't understand why Sean mcvade did
not try to throw the ball to get the first
down or a bootleg anything, man, because the Buccaneers literally

(01:40:51):
just dropped dropped the game winning touchdown. It wasn't like
they couldn't move the ball or couldn't get down there.
They were just down there last time and Scottie Miller
dropped it, dropped the ball in his dog on hands.
So to just give it up that that easy is atrocious.
Game is over rams trying a bunch of laterals, uh came,

(01:41:13):
nothing came of it. I really could have used the
defensive touchdown on that last play by the Buckets in
the in the game, nasty wins and Cooper and Cooper
Cup was like, listen, I'm I'm ending this game, bro.
He did get a They did throw out to Cooper
Cup to start the lateral process, and uh so he

(01:41:35):
did get an added reception. But the Buccaneers now reigning
a top the NFC South with the Falcons at four
and five as fall the three and five looking up
at the six and three Seahawks in the four and
four Niners in the NFC West, how many receptions do
you think Cooper Cup had today? Um, I'm gonna say

(01:41:57):
I'm gonna say nine seven, Okay, Frodow he had the
big play, but I mean the Rams didn't do tons
on offense. Yeah. And Cooper Cup by the way, like
with that big play, he had outgained like the rest
of his teammates two to one on his receiving yards.
So the offense really wasn't going today for the Rams,
really for for neither team, and that's why you get

(01:42:19):
a sixteen to thirteen contest Bucks win. So all about
the two games in the late window are over, Let's
get a quick look at our fantasy hits and misses
from our executive producer, Bob Benson. Fantasy hits and misses.
All right, who missed today? Bo Benson? Who did not
have the fantasy day that we expected. Yeah, I'm gonna

(01:42:40):
start with the quarterbacks here. Uh, Aaron Rodgers was not
good today. He threw for yards, one touchdown, but just
three backbreaking interceptions. Um. And I was gonna be mean
to p J. Walker because he threw for nine yards
in two interceptions but nobody really started him. So I'm
gonna I like how you want? Yeah, I don't. I
don't want to be played with House Muddy. Yeah, the

(01:43:04):
bomb to h D. J. Moore last week or the
week before it was really nice. So uh, I know
they don't get fantasy points, but can we just talk
about how bad the Rams offensive line has been and
the ten different permutations that they've had so far. That's
just wow, that's bad. Uh. Running Backs David Montgomery thirty
six yards today. No uh, no scores for him. Aaron
Jones of the Packers twenty five yards rushing and just

(01:43:26):
twenty yards receiving and their loss to the Lions. Wide
receivers Almon Ross st. Brown and the Lions just four
receptions for fifty five yards and Stefon Digs of the
Bills just five receptions for fifty yards after opening the
game with a big bomb. Not the day you'd expect
from him. No, he thought that they were gonna be
off and running, and they were anything. But it will
be interesting as well to hear about the status of

(01:43:47):
of Josh Allen as he heard his arm late in
the game on a on a sack they were they
could have gotten something going, but the ball was knocked
out of his arm and then it forced him at
like a third one. So Allen was seen grimacing with
that arm. Uh. Towards late in the game, it was
able to chuck one down to gave Davis at the

(01:44:09):
end that fell incomplete. But about the Bills don't get
a win and Josh Allen gets stinged up. Thank you
very much Bo Benson for that. We gotta wrap up
our award show. We'll do so after Monty Belanos gives
us the latest life from the entire wrect dot com
studios of what all happened in week nine? Moncy, what
is going on? Guys? No breaking tablets for Tom Brady today?

(01:44:32):
That is what that That's a good thing because if
I was Tom Brady and we didn't win, I would
have been so mad when they were at the Rams
six yard line and he threw three passes that I
thought could have been caught by his teammates and then
they didn't score. That looked rough. The Scotty Miller one
that George still, the one where he jumped, Yes, why

(01:44:52):
did he jumps like your hands? It's like I couldn't
have thre own it better. I hate you with the ball?
What did you want from me? And then I think, George,
you said handed it to him would have been the
next best pass. It was. I would have been so mad.
And then it's just incredible how less than a minute

(01:45:12):
ago is enough time for Tom Brady to score his
first and only touchdown of the game that happened to
be the game winning touchdown to beat the Rams that
are struggling this season. Sixteen to three is the final score.
And then the Seahawks they sealed the deal against the Cardinals.
Thirty one to twenty one was the final On that one.
Gino Smith completed thirty four passes for two and seventy

(01:45:34):
five yards and two touchdowns. Kenneth Walker the third had
twenty six carries a hundred and nine yards and two
touchdowns to touchdown. Seattle improves to six and three for
the season, and we had eight games this morning. We
had victories from the Lions, who outscored the Packers. Aaron
Rodgers through three picks in the red zone this game,
the first time he's ever done that. But at one
point I just kept like taking notes and just these

(01:45:57):
are the notes I had during the game. Packers wide
receiver Romeo of Dabbs out Packers defensive end Rashawn Gary
Carter to the locker room with the knee injury. Packers
wide receiver Christian Watson being evaluated for concussion. Running back
Aaron Jones questionable to return with an ankle injury. Like
the Packers could not catch a break. And I don't
even have David bak try on here, but he also
this was the Packers. This is their first their first half.

(01:46:19):
These you were talking about the red zone interceptions. First drive,
third team plays eighty eight yards, next drive seven plays
forty seven yards, both ending in interceptions. The next drive
twelve place sixty one yards. Uh, they were stopped on
downs in that on a fourth and three from the
thirty eight yard line. And then the end of the half,
like they didn't need to punt. No, they pumped it once. Yeah,

(01:46:40):
they pumped once in this game and scored nine points.
It was rough. It was rough from the Lions took
advantage and one the Jaguars took advantage of the Raiders
in the second half. The Raiders were up seventeens are
at one point, and they managed to lose to the
Jaguars twenty seven to twenty. They are now two and
six and in last place in the a f C West.
The Jets they head on to beat the Bills twenty
to seventeen. Josh Allen was sacked five times in this game.

(01:47:04):
He didn't even throw a single touchdown. Not to my boys,
Stefan Becks, who's leading my fantasy. So I'm not gonna
talk about that. And then the Vikings managed to beat
the Commanders twenty to seventeen. The Viking stand alone atop
the NFC North with a mid record of seven and one.
So minnsoota. That was good. I like when you said that,
I left out loud in the studio, just like you know,

(01:47:26):
oh yeah, I got you. The Chargers won with the
last second field goal by kicker Cameron Dicker the kicker.
What was it, George Ricester that you were so into
the call Texas Oklahoma game winner Dicker the kicker, Well,
he won the game for the Chargers today. Twenty seventeen

(01:47:47):
against the Falcons was the final score. The Dolphins they
beat the Bears thirty five to thirty two. That was
a fun one. And then the Bengals they killed the
Panthers forty two to twenty one. Joe Mixon had five touchdowns.
That's not a typo five one to three for five,
that's right. And then the Patriots held the Colt suggest
a field goal all game and one twenties six to three,
Mac Jones through for a hundred and forty seven yards

(01:48:07):
and a touchdown in the victory, and a little MLB
news star closer Edwin Diaz and the New York Mets
are in agreement on a five year, hundred and two
million dollar contract extension pending a physical. There is an
opt out in a full note trade clause plus a
six year option. But this is the first nine figure
contract ever for a closer and the first time that

(01:48:27):
takes that. They take this position into the twenty million
plus range. So good for him. Make that paper boo
boo back to you guys. It's been fun. That's good.
That was That was my Tommy trumpet that with your
with your mouth? What's that did you? Yeah? Like yes, Mike,

(01:49:00):
My kid loves that song. He loves He starts to
bounce a little bit when he hears that. So I
would play that song if I was signing a hundred
million dollar contract as well. Absolutely, Thank you very much, Monty.

you just heard it at bow T Benson. All right, George,
time for nominees for the award for the team that
stinks that was supposed to be good? Okay, nominees, Uh,
anch of teams. Okay, the team that stinks that was

(01:49:43):
supposed to be good? Your nominee is, oh, the the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay Buccaneers very very good. Uh,
they should be there four and five now on this
season after getting that win. Uh, division leaders, but they
shouldn't be leading a DIVISI with the with a losing record.
I've got I've got an I got another nominee. How

(01:50:04):
about the team that they beat today, the Rams. We
thought that the Super Bowl hangover was for a team
that is supposed to lose the Super Bowl. Bengals are
doing all right, Rams now three and five on this season.
So a couple of nominees, are you ready? All right? Now?
We knew that drum roll again the Raiders. All right,
I got the winner right here? Okay? Uh, the Green

(01:50:26):
Bay Packers, congratulations, Yes, the Green Bay Packers, the team
that stinks, that was supposed to be good. This is
because I picked this Packers to win the Super Bowl.
So that is why they get me more. I thought
it was all going to come together with that defense
and the complementary pieces to the running game, Aaron Rodgers,

(01:50:48):
I and Aaron Rodgers making plays. None of that happened. Uh,
the Green Bay Packers the award for the Team that stays.
How did these Raiders who went to the playoffs last
year inner two and six? Right right now, after signing
after trading for Davante Adams, uh, trading well, signing Chandler Jones,

(01:51:10):
and they signed somebody else to know offou season, how
did they not win it? Well? Because of the coaching
change in the GM regime. Like you could understand why,
you know, like they hicked it up themselves. They had
a hiccup there. The Packers were just supposed to keep rolling,
you know, this was the plan all along. This is
what they wanted to do. It's why they didn't draft

(01:51:31):
any wide receivers. So that's why the Packers get the
the award for the team that stinks that was supposed
to be good. Our our our final category. Oh actually no,
I have to give my award for the o hell
knock category. Quick. I've got the winner, George, You're ready.
First half of the season and the winner for the
oh hell no goes to remember when the Jets beat

(01:51:52):
the Browns in Week two with Joe Flacco like that,
Like I look still look back at that game when
Nick Chubbs scored that touch down, and then you had
the long touchdown pass, and then you had the on
side kick, and then you had everything that went in between.
I just looked back at that week too game. And
as it turns out, now you know, the Jets are

(01:52:13):
a decent football team. They're getting better throughout the season,
but at the time of that game still stands out
to me from the first half of the season. Oh, Dan,
and you totally messed it up with that one because
that because that was not the biggest oh oh hell no? Oh?
What was what? What? What was in the exact same week,

(01:52:36):
the uh the Baltimore Ravens being up twenty foot twenty
four points because they because they kicked the field goal
in the fourth quarter too, So they were essentially up
twenty four points in the fourth quarter and did not
turn the ball over and lost. That's right, That's that's

(01:52:59):
the bigger Oh hell no. Even though that that Jets
brownsman was a big hell no, the other one was
way bigger. H Charlotte's Web is the world's most trust

were uh to trust them. I also thought that there
would be an opportunity George for them to uh navigate
their schedule and their division and take advantage of and

Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today.
