Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
A very happy Easter Day to you and yours. Welcome man.
We are smack dab in the middle of a Final four,
with the men's title game taking place tomorrow night. The
women's title game, it may already be wrapped up. Carry
it seems like UCLA on their way to winning their
first national championship.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Pump your breaks, Dan, pump your breaks. We had this
happened last week. We're not going there again. Let it
play out. You see, LA's up big right now, but
a lot of time left, Dan, a lot of time left.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
If you missed us, I can't couldn't be the only one.
But I did have Duke advancing as they were up significantly.
Was it fifteen at the half? Yeah, and even at
that arms length at points in the second half before
yu kind made their comeback and ultimately the turnover. And
now what do you know, Yukon's in the National Championship
game to face the Michigan Wolverines. And now that's going

(00:56):
to be a daunting task because Michigan seems to be
firing on all cylinders and Arizona last night just looked
completely overmatched, which was crazy because I thought that Arizona
at least would have a bit of an edge with
Jayden Bradley in the backcourt. Front court seemed to be

(01:16):
affected by Michigan size, and it was that dominant Wolverine's
team that we saw earlier in the year. And Michigan
went through the Big Ten Tournament, and this is where
sometimes conference tournaments don't tell you everything about the team
and maybe actually may give you false hope. You may
think you're better or worse than you actually are. They struggled,
and not only did they struggle, they ended up losing

(01:37):
that championship game to Purdue. And now Michigan sure seems
like they maybe forty minutes away from a national championship. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
I think the consensus early on was that Michigan was
the best team all year, Right, I think a lot
of people would have said that, not me, but I
thought they were pretty much the cream of the cop
And then you have that Lowell. I think what you
just said, you hit the nail on the head. I
mean during the conference, everybody has enough tape on you
to make all those games interesting, especially after the first
time seeing them.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Yeah, and we're in March exactly. Yeah, the dog.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Days, like you're tired of facing the same it's almost
like training camp, like you're tired of going against the
same people over and over again. You wanted to go
hit somebody else. And so you get to come to
the tournament and have all these teams have to game
plan for you and not being able to actually understand
what that height and what that size and what that
athleticism really means on the court because you look at

(02:27):
it on tape and it's like it's you know, it's
maybe daunting to the coaches, but the players are like no,
I mean we're they're just like us, we can do
this right, And then you get out there on the court,
it's like whoa, whoa, that dude's really seven to two.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
It's different. I'll say this as well, aside from the
size that Arizona had to deal because Arizona has size
on their own. When you look at the Big Ten
as a whole, and this is maybe more of a
credit to what Michigan is is Michigan won that conference
by four games this year. And if you have one
or two teams in the sweet sixteen or the Elite
eight from a conference doesn't necessarily tell the whole story

(03:00):
of a league. But the Big Ten had enough teams
advancing far in the tournament, with Purdue and that Elite
eight losing Arizona, with Iowa in Illinois playing in that
Elite eight, they had enough teams advanced far enough where
you're saying, Okay, the conference is pretty strong. And then
to think that Michigan won that league by four games
and people were appointing to an I even saw today

(03:21):
on social media their dominant win over Gonzaga where they're up,
you know, just thirty points and basically playing with their
food in the players tournament that they had earlier in
the season in Las Vegas. Ye, Michigan was dominant. But
I want to ask you this point because it's on
the other bench. Michigan had their own scare with Elliott
Cado having the allergic reaction this week and didn't seem

(03:42):
that he was affected at all in the National Championship game.
But I wonder how much Arizona was distracted by all
of the Tommy Lloyd North Carolina talking. Even though it
was settled by the end of the week and he
agreed to a contract extension, it hovered around the final four.
Would he go to North Carolina made about it wasn't
necessarily committing the Arizona but just talking about trying to

(04:05):
stay focused. At that point, I thought that that could
have may not have been the difference last night in
a nineteen point deficit or eighteen. I think they ultimately
ended up losing by But the fact is Carrie that
I don't think it helped Arizona in preparation for last
night to have that cloud of is Tommy Lloyd staying
or going even though some players may not be there

(04:25):
next year as well. It was just more of the
fact that was more of the conversation and then maybe
what Arizona was about to face.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Yeah, two things with that. It is number one, you
just said it, it's preparation. If you have to answer
questions outside of what you need to get accomplished throughout
the week, that's always a distraction that comes players, coaches, whoever,
whoever's involved. But I think the second part of it
is the players are human and so you hear these things,
doesn't mean it's going to distract you from your you know,
going out there and giving your all. But there is

(04:52):
a cloud. I mean, there's times when I'm just liking
it too. When I was in Louisville when we had
John L. Smith and we you know, he was about
to take the Michigan State job. We didn't know that,
but it was it was hovering around and we could.
We were talking talking amongst ourselves as players, and we
have this ideology of oh no, that's our guy. He's
not going anywhere, he's going to see us. He's going
to see this thing through with us. And the next

(05:12):
thing you know, he's on the next flight the Miscan
State taking that job. Sure, those things are real, and
so to say carry over from that situation could.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Be a real thing. It is a real thing. And
I think in your time in playing it was one
hundred times more difficult because you didn't have the transfer rule.
If let's just say they brought in a coach that
didn't like you, Carrie Roads, you you would have to
sit out a year and then to go and play
somewhere else. So I could understand why someone would be
affected by it. But these players as well, like they
would have decisions do I go pro do I look

(05:42):
at another school? Do I stay here? Maybe they're going
to promote within. You can't tell me that. As this
was going on now CoA Pete's probably going to go
to the NBA. So maybe it didn't, you know, affect
someone else. But I just I don't think that. I
don't think it helped them. I think certain teams can
handle it. The infamous Roy Williams quote when Kansas lost

(06:03):
to Syracuse in the National Championship game. He didn't give
a bleep about Carolina, but that was hovering over that.
And give Kansas credit for being able to navigate that
and still make it to a national championship game and
end up just losing by a bucket to Syracuse. They
were able to handle it. But that shouldn't be a
knock on Arizona that they weren't able to handle something
that may have been a distraction, because it was to

(06:24):
no fault of their own. It was just everything that
comes around in this world of college basketball and the
coaching carousel that they just kind of got sucked into.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
And the other thing about it, Dan is they just
got outclass as well. Yeah, And the thing about that
is that's what makes this tournament the best.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Right.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
You don't know if you're going to have your best stuff,
and sometimes you got to win without your best stuff.
But you can't go into a final four without your
best stuff. And I'm not making any excuse. Michigan won
that Michigan earned that. Michigan's play throughout the season has
showed that they can be that team that they were
last night. I just don't think that Arizona had any
favors going for them. Now, I want to ask you
this question.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
Would you trade tom Izzo's career and legacy for what
Danny Hurley has accomplished in what he could accomplish in
his career? Absolutely? Yeah, I mean it's not even close.
So you would take Hurley, yes, for the two national
championships over Izzo's won in the eight final fours. Not

(07:22):
even close, okay.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
And I say that because people like we are and
you are as well. We're historians of the game. We've
seen tom Izzo's great moments. We've been a part of it.
We've seen that ride. They've been few and far between,
I mean the final fours and you know, you know,
making it in almost being there. It's fine, but Hurley's
gotten it done, and even this one in particular, if

(07:47):
he was to shock the world and win this championship
against Michigan, because they should be underdogs and I think
like six seven point underdogs in this game. If he
wins this one, this may be his best coaching job
ever and won of the best coaching job, one of
the best coaching jobs ever period.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
This team isn't the most talented team.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
This Yukon team has guys that are, you know, good players,
but none of these guys are going to go to
the NBA and be you know, somebody that we're going
to talk about down the line has been.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
A great player. This is a great coaching job. And
I'm I'm I didn't know your answer, and I'm glad
that your answer was whatever it was going to be,
because I think that tom Izzo is a standard. When
you go to eight final fours like he has, that's
something that you want to reach. What about Roy Williams
over over with Dan Hurley? Would you take what Dan
Hurley has and could have or would you take what

(08:37):
Roy Williams has in his bank in the National Championships
in the nine final fours appearance, what would you do?

Speaker 3 (08:44):
Yeah, he's not Roy Williams yet. Roy Williams did it
at two different schools as well.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Well.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Hurley did it that economy and you know, Roy Williams
did it at Kansas and North Carolina as well, and
so just being able to implement his type of you know,
his type of coach and his style of play and
his success in two different places. For me, it would
trumpet just right now. But I mean we're talking about
right now and Dan Hurley. If he wins tomorrow, this
could be a different conversation as well.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
The three national championships, which we're all at North Carolina,
but a couple of national title games for Roy Williams
as well at Kansas. So think about that. Carrie Rhoades
would take Dan Hurley's career over Tom Izzo's, but would
halt at Roy Williams. And I think that coach k
as obviously one that would be ahead of Roy Williams.

(09:30):
But the list is short. John Wooden obviously, so by
saying this, and I actually the coach that I thought
was going to be tricky was Boheim. But if you're
taking Hurley over Iszo, you're definitely taking him over Bayheim
as well. Yes, so we went for how many decades
and looked at coach k Beheim, Izzo, what about Patino?

(09:54):
Would you take Hurley or would you take Patino, WHOA,
that's a close one. It's because I know I put
him on the spot. But what I'm trying to convey here,
and I think it's it's just forming naturally, is how
elite Danny Hurley is and so in how early in
his career, how he has put himself in the conversation

(10:16):
of greatest coaches. So when he is berating an official
and calling himself the greatest coach in the game, he
may not be wrong and he may be underselling himself
for how good these runs have been in being able
to bring back their teams and bring back his team
like he did last week against Duke. Now, they had
to have some fortune and have the turnover, But I
do think that the press that they set up messed

(10:37):
with Caden Boozer and put them in a spot to
get a game winning shot. Absolutely, And so just having
this conversation and giving you time to think of you
take if Tho or Hurley go ahead, just tells you
where Dan Hurley is right now. That Dan Hurley right
now is probably a top ten college basketball coach of
all time if you're looking at what he has got

(10:58):
in this just this short period and what he's accomplished. Yeah,
I mean, you play this game to win championships.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
I know Final fours are bench marks and something that's
not to be just you cast to the side. I
mean it's a great accomplishment. I think it's a great
coach as well. It has nothing to do with that.
But when you talk about getting the job done, and
you can talk about just think about Shire and all
the great players he's had and he's made to final
fours and he's done these things. But you got to
win those championships to be considered to be considered the guy.

(11:27):
And all you're gonna look at with with Duke in
this situation with Shire is just failed opportunities. And when
the opportunities come, Yukon has risen to the top. And
I think that has to do with coaching. It's just
not the players. Players are usually ready to play, but
what's gonna give them that that bump over the over
the top. It's it's it's not even great coaching. It's
like you have to be one of the best coaches

(11:49):
ever to have this prolonged success.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
And I think it's more difficult now yes than it
was when that's true, especially in the world of nil
in trying to keep guys, in trying to find the
right guys, in trying to find that mix. I think
the schools like the Kansas, the North Carolina, the Dukes,
the Kentucky's, the Louisville's, and during those periods, during the

(12:12):
decades of the last twenty or thirty forty years, we're
able to keep players and bring in players for a
lot of reasons that other schools or advantages. And I'm
not saying shady stuff here, saying Duke is Duke. Yeah,
North Carolina is North Carolina, Kansas, so they had a
head start over other schools previously. Now to do it

(12:38):
where it's all about the money that you raise and
can pay these players, a lot of that is of
who's paying who the most. So to me, the playing
field is leveled out some. It's not just these certain
schools who had the head start that makes it more difficult,
because maybe twenty or thirty years ago when Jim Calhoun

(12:58):
ended up turning around Connecticut, maybe Connecticut because of what
they were then able to accomplish, had a head start
over those other schools. In the mid two thousands and
early twenty teens. During those times, maybe they had that
head start there, but to do it now where it
seems like it's leveled out some. I think it's more
of a credit to Dan Hurley.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
Dan, before I go into that question, you sill, he's
gonna win this game. They're about twenty nine now, so
I think it's safe to say, Okay, we're not on
in the third quarter yet. Oh okay, we'll wait, We'll wait.
But but my response to I want to go back
a little bit. He's not better than Patino yet, and

(13:37):
Patino's done in that two schools as well, and so
I just I think there's a little bit of a
fluff for there. But yeah, when you talk about these
coaches and the success they've had in Yukon in particular here,
I mean it came out of nowhere. We knew he
was gonna be a good hire for Yukon leaving Rhode
Island to go there, but the way that he's got
those guys on the fast track to win and to
do it so consistently in such a short span, it's remarkable.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
I also look at it just with the basketball family
because we actually we were introduced to the Hurley family
via Bobby Hurley, but The story about Bobby Hurley was
who his dad also was, so you knew his dad
as the ultra successful high school basketball coach, but it's
in their blood. And then now Danny comes along and

(14:19):
ends up maybe making the biggest name of them all
and puts him in the category of some of those coaches.
I mean, I'm just looking at the list here of
final fours. You know, Bob Knight, when three national championships
in Indiana went to five final fours. Loud Olsen just
talking about Arizona ended up going to five final fours.
Danny Hurley is in his third final four, but he's

(14:41):
been in you consince twenty eighteen, but he's knocking on
the door of his maybe third national championship. And we
were talking about winning three national championships with completely different guys. Yes,
so what you said of turnovers, even in the back
to back here, there were a couple of holdovers, but
it wasn't like we're running it back with all five
of these guys. It is not like that. And to

(15:03):
see what he has been able to do really tells
me that there's something in the sauce there, and it's
why I think that it's it's worthy to have that
sort of conversation because if they win tomorrow night after
what Michigan did last night to Arizona, and if Danny
Hurley is able to solve that and figure that out,
we're solo baldinged up as well. We don't know his
status for the game, but if they're able to pull

(15:24):
that off, my goodness, Like I maybe when we're talking
top five at that point, but top ten coach of
all time would seem crazy for a guy who hasn't
even been out of school for ten years.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
And you know that also be that will be three
for three, yes, like making it to the fine and
four and win into all winn into at all. So
like that's a that's a big deal. And the thing
about Yukon happened to get ready for Michigan and what
they're going to present miss Missing's going to how to
get ready for Yukon and the complexities that they have
in their offensive game as well, And so it's gonna
be interesting to see what both these teams do. And again,

(15:57):
you know Ters Reid and those guys with Yukon, he's
been such a dominate factor in these playoffs, but now
he's going to go against Mara and Luxembourg. That's and
that's it, and that's a that's a tall order. Yeah,
Luxembourg's Lundonberg.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
Lennonberg's status at least a return to the game last night.
We'll see where he is at on Monday. But yeah,
he's there's a reason why he was the first team
All American. So but when you get to play all
around Roddy Gale dunking out everybody, I mean, it was
it was quite the show last night. So if Danny
Hurley does get that third, it will be quite the

(16:29):
victory over a really, really good Michigan squad. Carrie said it,
it's all but done even with a quarter to play.
UCLA is up twenty nine on South Carolina. That seems
to be a rap in the women's tournament? Is it
a rap for the Lakers now that Luca is out
and so is Austin Reeves? Kerry gives his thoughts next
He's carry Roads. I'm dan Byer. Find him out ex

out something new about Dan Hurley as well. Didn't realize
this until just this moment. You ready, Yes, he was
born on my birthday. We share the same birthday. Great
four years prior. Greatness was born on that day. Yes,
And of course my birthday is no, that's that's for you.

Speaker 8 (18:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
Well you know where my birthday is, right, of course? Yeah, yeah, absolutely,
January sixth. Of course we're both capricorns.

Speaker 9 (18:11):
Stan Yeah stands Yes, you're about super timid people and
super chill.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
It's crazy.

Speaker 6 (18:19):
There it is.

Speaker 7 (18:20):
I was.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
I was looking at the Wikipedia site because I wanted to.
It's just the easiest way to look up the the
resume and and and where they are and and then
it just it like it hits you right in, right
in the face. When it's your birthday. You ever see
that yours is what August second? Why do you do
that to me? Dan? It is August second?

Speaker 5 (18:42):
Right?

Speaker 2 (18:43):
You see how you me there? He's gonna call.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
Yeah, wait a minute, but I know this isn't this correct?
Isn't that like national nothing?

Speaker 9 (18:52):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (18:52):
You much? Yes, yes it is. But when you see
that day, I wrong, Shae, like Shaye, when is your birthday?
I don't know when yours is? January third? I'm a
caper quis okay, yeah, we're capricors. That's right. We have
a whole crew of us. Ian's is the second Ian
Roddy who works here at Fox Sports Radio. But when

(19:13):
you see one slash three or January third, it's your birthday,
like you think of it, it stands out to you.
So when I happ your birthday, thank you, thank you.
Three months you know, I ask who cares. It's the
point that it just it like was. It could have
been high beams, it could have been highlighted. When I
saw Danny Hurley and then in parentheses born January sixteenth,

(19:35):
I'm like, oh, my guy, my guy. So I shouldn't
say welcome to the crew since he's been in the
crew for about fifty three years, but it's new to me.
It was in the crew before you were at the Yes,
I know, I and shaw Day and Ronnie millsaid, Albert
Pools and Joe Flacco. Again, that's cool. Wow, Okay, I
got happy birthday. My three favorite topics on Fox Sports

(19:59):
Sunday are actually for NFL college football, golf, in my birthday, birthday.
It's what I love to talk about. There's no doubt
about it. And right now two and of the three
aren't happening. So let's talk golf, and let's talk my birthday.
By the way, we will its Master's Week as soon
as the Valero Texas Open wraps up. Speaking of wrapping up,

(20:20):
it's the Lakers season wrapped up. Now that Luca and
Austin Reeves are out for the Lakers.

Speaker 3 (20:25):
Gun Zo, it's over, so yes, both of them being
hurt right now is just so it's such such an
inopportune time. Obviously, injuries, we don't want them ever. But
the way this team had been playing, they were starting
to click and it was fun and they were exciting
to watch, and you actually thought that they could do
some damage. You started looking at possible matchups and you're like,

(20:46):
if they play Minnesota, they'd win that, and you know,
in theory like it they have the two best players,
and you have also reeves that a planet plane at
that level as well, you think they would win that one.
If they got to the next round and play like
a young San Antonio Spurs team, which would probably be favored,
but I still would wouldn't get it past them when
in that when that uh that matchup in making it

(21:06):
to the Western Conference finals and then next thing you know,
you playing okay see and okay see, hasn't They're still
the best team, I think, but haven't been overwhelming teams
like they did earlier. So it would have been interesting
to see see them healthy and go into that playoffs
that way.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
I felt it was it was over when Luca got hurt. Yeah,
not that, not that It's not to disrespect Austin Reeves.
I just didn't think. I didn't think it would be
enough if you didn't have Luca and you just had
Austin and Lebron doing what they're doing. The the funny
thing with all of this happening is Lebron is in

(21:43):
the news for everything that isn't to do with the Lakers,
and so this Lakers team, You're right, I thought it
could be fun, yes, depending on how now. I also
think it's fun when the Lakers lose. I will, like
I enjoy seeing that. I think a lot of us do.
I actually was a Lebron fan up until he went

(22:07):
to not a Lebron stand, but I like I wanted
Lebron to win the titles with the calves, not with
the heat, but with the calves both the first and
second time against you know, and then the string against
the Warriors. If I was rooting for a team, I
was rooting for the Cavaliers. When he went to the Lakers,
like that all went away, like it just it was gone.
And unfortunately I feel the same way about Luca after
the trade, which is actually one of the reasons why

(22:28):
I didn't like the trade was just personal. He was
I liked Luca as a player. I liked watching Luca
as a player, and now he's going to be a
member of the Lakers, and that's just I'm not going
to cheer for the Lakers. It's not going to happen,
but I can say that it would be fun to
watch them and fun to see what navigates and how
they would navigate in whatever series they would end up playing.
If you're in the Western Conference Semis against San Antonio,

(22:50):
that is must see TV. And I now think that
we have lost out on that. But I find it
funny with now with these two injuries and Lebron James
has the opportunity to probably do what he wants to
do and take over. And so what is Lebron James doing.
He's playing golf with golf influencers down the stretch run
of a regular season, and I think that tells you

(23:13):
everything that you need to know about Lebron's commitment to
the Lakers. We are making so much about what Lebron
said with those golf clips and what he said about Memphis,
and then followed up that we aren't talking and this
isn't Michael Jordan playing golf like you would play thirty

(23:33):
six roles because Jordan was a golf freak. Lebron's literally
taking up the game for something in his career that
he can maybe play afterwards or down the line. And
now he's doing content with golf influors. I'm influencers, And
I'm not saying that Lebron isn't allowed to play golf.
I just wouldn't be doing it, Carrie in a platform

(23:53):
like this when your team's in the playoff push and
you're likely playing your last season. And I think he
knows exactly what he's doing, but that is not a
conversation that's being had. And now the Lakers need Lebron,
and Lebron's more worried about, you know, putting it Penn
high from one hundred and twenty yards out than than
actually probably trying to lead the Lakers to any sort

(24:16):
of greatness.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
You know.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
I think there's been you know, push back on Lebron
relinquishing his role on this team and actually playing you know, second,
third fiddle. I think third fiddle right now would probably
be probably be right with Austin and Luca there. I
think we challenged that now that he actually realists the
role of not being that guy in a moment and

(24:37):
trying to you know, learn golf and do these things.
I don't think we can have it every way, Dan,
when it comes to that, I think there's we got
to let him do what he does and let him
live a little bit. And so the fact that I
think for me personally, for him, I think he was
releist in not being the one that had to be
counted on to carry a team at this moment, I

(24:58):
think for the first time in a long time, he
was actually okay with taking the back seat and you know,
doing other things that interests him. And I don't think
there's anything wrong with that. But now in the lieu
of what happened, yes, we're gonna talk about those things,
and it's fair, but we can. We got to give
Broun some a little leeway here. And you know, I'm
one of the biggest ones as well. I don't I

(25:18):
don't like Lebron either, but I mean, just the way
that we go at him all the time with this one,
I would give.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
Him a little a little leeway. But we'll see what happens.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
He's gonna have another chance to come out and lead
a team that's gonna probably lose in the first round
and then we could talk about him at that point.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
I'm curious on Monte Bolanos's thoughts on if she would
give Lebron any leeway for any of this. Come on,
come on, Manzi, Lebron's the best. I really like Lebron.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
I think she's one of the best possible players.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
For dude, He's the conch that is not Monsey. Come on,
you got Monci.

Speaker 10 (25:49):
Absolutely not.

Speaker 7 (25:50):
In fact, I'm very very similar with like Dan because
I was I rooted for Lebron for many many years.

Speaker 10 (25:56):
I have calvs MVP cartoon Lebron shirt I had in Miami.

Speaker 7 (26:00):
He Lebron, Sure, I was rooting for him. And then
he comes to LA and he goes to the Lakers,
and it's like, oh, all the rooting has ended very quickly,
and I don't know what he was doing. Like, first
of all, why are we watching you play golf when
you suck? I just like I don't understand and not
suck enough where it's funny, you know, Like it's not
like watching Charles Barkley, because that's.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
Someone also pointed out of the blue language that Lebron
used that it was so much that it was trying
to use it quite a bit to show that he
does this. What's the blue I'm cool blue language? Was
that swear words customer? So he cussed every other word.

Speaker 7 (26:33):
He did, and it's what he said was just And
then he tried to like not like pretend that he
didn't say it wasn't that you just said you didn't
like Memphis. That's not what you said. You wanted to
remove a team from Memphis.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
And we'll get to that in just a little bit.
I just don't want to go because we will talk
about that whole thing. Yeah, My whole thing is this
is he he doesn't play golf well, but he's telling
golf on again. We're content. This isn't like I'm trying
to get away, like this is stuff that's meant to
be sent out there. And then takes on a persona
of having a potty mouth and like this is all

(27:11):
contrapt and I know you want to give him leeway.
I just don't think this is it. I don't think
that he wants any part of being playing second or
third fiddle. But now he's in a spot where he's
kind of like, all right, I'll be second and third fiddle. Well,
I'm just gonna go play golf with these guys. Then well,
you guys try to do your own thing. Now it's
on his plate, which he may relish. And the point
where I think it's crazy is, let's just say, all

(27:32):
of a sudden, they win. Let's just say they play
the Timberwolves or whatever, the Rockets, and they win, and
now Luca and Austin Reeves are I guess what, We're
a little more healthy. We're back now like that power
struggle of now you're going to incorporate them like it's
probably done to your point, But I just I think
that that dynamic would be crazy if somehow they could

(27:54):
pull it off if he turned it on.

Speaker 7 (27:56):
It's and here's the thing. It's like, he can't turn
it on, but can you turn it on for a
seven games year? Yeah, and that's that's the question, which
it's like, I don't think so. But if he did,
oh oh oh, it.

Speaker 10 (28:07):
Would be so great. The drama would be so good.

Speaker 7 (28:09):
Yes, I would love it, like I'm rooting for it
just because the drama that it would cause would.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
Be so great.

Speaker 7 (28:14):
Yeah, we'll start in the NBA because there's one game
that you know kind of matters. We'll say the Raptors
and the Celtics here. Boston is up ninety eight to
eighty seven with six minutes to go in the game.
Jason Tatum twenty one points and thirteen rebounds. But the
women's at National Championship, who had this on their being
go card UCLA leading South Carolina seventy.

Speaker 10 (28:34):
Two to forty one.

Speaker 2 (28:37):
I thought they'd win.

Speaker 10 (28:38):
You thought they'd win that not like this, but you
thought they'd win. That's great.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
Five.

Speaker 2 (28:42):
This is the first I've heard from it. There's five
minutes left in the game, and he just told me
he thought, oh, I picked the first, did you. I
just I'd wanted Dan to be quiet because he dakes
me last week.

Speaker 10 (28:53):
Got you got it?

Speaker 4 (28:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (28:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (28:55):
Lauren Bett's leading the way for the Bruins. She's got
a double double, twelve points and eleven rebounds. There's less
than five minutes to go in this one. The men's
championship game is gonna be tomorrow Monday. Yukon and Michigan.
Michigan star Jaxell Lindenborg, who suffered an ankle and knee
injury during the Final four, did go back into the game,
but imaging came back clean, so he's expected to play.

(29:15):
As for Yukon, solo ball is uncertain for tomorrow's game.
He has a foot injury that currently has him in
a walking boot. Like they haven't said he's out, but
he didn't practice day. He did speak to the media.
He's in a walking boot.

Speaker 10 (29:26):
That is what you need to know.

Speaker 7 (29:28):
Alabama coach Nate Ods signed a new contract that's gonna
make him one of the five highest paid coaches in
college basketball.

Speaker 10 (29:35):
Good for him.

Speaker 7 (29:36):
When it comes to base bull Mookie Betts is headed
to the injured list just like me.

Speaker 10 (29:40):
He has a strange right oblique. I have a groin injury.

Speaker 7 (29:43):
Nationals lead the Dodgers six three, bottom of the sixth inning.
James Wood with the three run shot for Washington. Yankees
are up on the Marlins.

Speaker 10 (29:50):
Finally, this game should have started five hours ago.

Speaker 7 (29:52):
They're finally playing. Three to one is the score. Top
of the second inning. Astros lead the Ace to zero.

Speaker 10 (29:57):
Top of the fifth inning.

Speaker 7 (29:58):
Astros place their ace Hunter Brown on fifteen day injured
list with the strain in his pitching shoulder. Giants have
taken the lead from the Mets at home to one.
Top of the seventh inning, Mariners and Angels tied at
two bottom of the fourth, Braves and Diamondbacks tied at
three bottom of the fifth. Cubs and Guardians in game
two of their double header. Cubs right now lead one
zero bottom of the fourth inning, while the Padres outscored
the Red Sox eight six, and the White Sox completed

(30:21):
a three game sweep of the Blue Jays, shutting them
out today three zero at the Valero Open Texas Valero
Texas Open.

Speaker 10 (30:28):
JJ spawn is in the lead seventeen under.

Speaker 7 (30:30):
Part overall with a couple of golfers Matt Wallace Michael
Kim one shot back. In the NHL, penguinsley the Panthers
five to two late in the third period. Senators lead
the Hurricanes two to one late in the first period.
Almost said, innings, there's too much going on back to
you guys.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
Many quarters. Sorry sorry, Dan Manthia. Is cal Rodley going
to get a hit this year?

Speaker 10 (30:50):
What made? He tried? And then Joe Adell said, not today,
not today, it's early.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
It's early.

Speaker 10 (30:58):
Can I give you.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
Guys a quick JJ spawn story? See so this is
back in this would have been twenty six, so early
twenty seventeen early twenty seventeen. Yeah, I think it was
around that time Farmer's Insurance Open. Jonas Knox and myself
did a remote down at Torrey Pines, South Oh Wow,
and for Fox Sports Radio and they were bringing over

(31:23):
they were gonna bring over some golfers to us, and
they said, okay, we're either going to bring you Xander Shoffley.
This is as Xander was starting his career, or JJ
spawn because they were both San Diego area kids that
were gonna bring them out at that time. They were kids,
so and I was more familiar with Xander at the time,
even though Zanner wasn't a huge name like he is
now in a major, two time major winner. But they

(31:45):
brought over JJ spawn, which was awesome, and I said,
you know, we are going to be JJ Spawn's biggest fans.
And so for like the next month, he whenever he
would play in a tournament or tweet, we would tweet
at him. Yeah, zero response. He did not recognize us
at all. We tried to pub them up and then
now he doesn't need us at all because he's a
US Open winner and he's about to win in San Antonio.

(32:08):
But we tried, we tried to be like, you know,
JJ Spahn tied for twelfth right now, and we didn't.
He didn't even like them like there wasn't there wasn't
even a retweet or a like whatsoever. Completely gave us
the heighs. He was lebron he was, he was dark,
thirty on on playing anything from us. He is carrier
out Tom Dan Byer Monzi is going to be around

(32:30):
with according to Moncy, in just a sec. But I
gotta tell you, be sure to subscribe to the Fox
Sports Radio YouTube channel. Just search Fox Sports Radio on
YouTube and you'll see our best videos from all of
our shows. And don't stop there. Hit that thumbs up
icon and coming away. Let us know who takes you
like and even those those you don't. Just search Fox
Sports Radio on YouTube and subscribe. There is still some
golf to be played. It's not over over, but Robert

(32:52):
McIntyre's two shots back, he's got three holes to play,
so it's not completely over. But right now JJ Spahn
is in a good spot. UCLA in an even better spot.
He's carry on Dan, according to Manci. Next on Fox
Sports Sunday.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (33:08):
Fox Sports Sunday, He's carry roads. I'm Dan Byer. I
don't even know if we're going to get to according
to Manzi, because Monty's in tears right now as UCLA
has just won the national championship in women's basketball. Sorry
if you're going to do breaking news, but you were
just watching the interview with Corey Close, the UCLA head
coach Mancy and.

Speaker 7 (33:28):
Her mom and her mom like, oh, this is so
sweet and she's getting obviously emotional in all of this.

Speaker 10 (33:36):
How long has she been there? Fifteen a while? She's
been there, you know what I'm saying, like, this is emotional.
Congratulations go Ucla.

Speaker 2 (33:43):
Do you know what Corey Close's middle name is? This
game wasn't stupid?

Speaker 10 (33:50):
Stupid? And you know I knew you were going there
but couldn't get there fast enough.

Speaker 7 (33:56):
This game wasn't close, No, no dominant, dominant performance.

Speaker 2 (34:01):
There was so much of a blow out. Her mom
could have played in this game that she wanted to.
And Dan, she's related to Glen.

Speaker 4 (34:08):
I love it.

Speaker 10 (34:09):
Well done, Fellows, well done.

Speaker 11 (34:12):
Mine was, but he added, no one said yes, good,
What is wrong with that? We gave We gave your
credit and it was good.

Speaker 2 (34:23):
I'm here. What do you think, Chris, Chris? I, honestly,
it looked like he was struck by lightning. He went,
what what?

Speaker 7 (34:33):
What?

Speaker 2 (34:33):
What?

Speaker 12 (34:35):
What?

Speaker 4 (34:35):
I want to say?

Speaker 2 (34:36):
Neutral in this? Now I'm not going to give you
a good answer. Then fine, oh, man all right, that's fine.
Let's let's get this bad boy going wiping the tears away.
It's not for according to Manci, and now it's time.

Speaker 4 (34:49):
For absolutely that's it's according to MONSI.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
All right, my bad on that.

Speaker 4 (34:58):
According to Monsey, there's.

Speaker 10 (35:01):
No more excuses, y'all.

Speaker 7 (35:02):
Okay, I yesterday I saw Joe Adele of the Angels
not rob one, not two, but three home runs. And
the third one is the one that everyone whoever.

Speaker 10 (35:13):
Goes to a baseball game needs to watch.

Speaker 12 (35:15):
That.

Speaker 7 (35:15):
It should be like a tutorial for everybody that goes
to sit in like the outfield or like a foul
ball area.

Speaker 10 (35:20):
Because that third rob that third home run he robbed.
Everyone got out of the way. It was clearly a
foul ball, right, someone could have caught that.

Speaker 7 (35:29):
Instead, everyone just spread out, even Mariners fans. Everyone just
spread out and let him catch the ball, make the play.
He falls over with the fans, He gets up there's
a moment. Everyone taps him on the back. No one
tries to steal the ball, no one tries to take.

Speaker 10 (35:45):
The moment away from him.

Speaker 7 (35:46):
There's an awesome picture of someone standing behind Adele where
he's just standing with the ball, like his hand is
up with the glove and it's just him. That picture
wouldn't have happened if people would have gotten in the way.
Every time there's like a foul ball where someone gets
in the way that could have been caught by the player,
it annoys me so much. Those fans need to be
kicked out. You don't get to come back for I
don't know six games, I don't know something, not forever.

(36:09):
You're not gonna be banned, but get out of the way.
Nobody is there to watch you make a catch in
the foul territory. Joe Adell yesterday, I loved everything I
saw of that play. Give it up for the fans
that were sitting in that area. No more excuses.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
That's how you handle made it amazing that there were
fans out of angels.

Speaker 10 (36:26):
Stop stop stop.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
They started out okay, dad, It not okay because they're
five days into April.

Speaker 10 (36:36):
So good, good job, good job. Angels fans and the
Mariners fans that were nearby.

Speaker 4 (36:41):
According to Monsey, it's not that serious, Dan.

Speaker 10 (36:44):
It is not that serious.

Speaker 7 (36:47):
Bryce James, you needed an enforcer to tell people you
didn't want to talk to the media during the final
four run for Arizona. I understand that you're a red
shirt freshman and you don't have to talk to the media,
But why is there.

Speaker 10 (36:57):
Stories that you had an enforcer there to tell people
you weren't gonna talk. You can't just say, guys, I
don't have anything to say. I haven't even played this year.
It's a very simple answer. In fact, if you are
does he know that he's the son of Lebron James.
Does he know that? I don't think he knows that.

Speaker 7 (37:12):
So it's like, dude, everybody's gonna want to talk to you,
and instead you want to make a story about having
an enforcer there, when in reality you could have just
said something nice about your team, something positive about your
team and what they have done.

Speaker 10 (37:24):
But instead you want to act like, no, no, no,
I'm too good for this.

Speaker 7 (37:28):
You're not. We understand you haven't played since an exhibition game.
I get all that understand and I know this is
not by Arizona. This was Clutch and his people. We
don't need to know that there's a story that there's
an enforcer standing by Bryce James where he's not gonna
speak to the media.

Speaker 10 (37:41):
It's not that serious. Get out of here.

Speaker 9 (37:44):
According to Mansey, social media has ruined something else.

Speaker 10 (37:49):
You guys, you guys, that's it.

Speaker 7 (37:51):
Never again, April fools. This throw that in the trash
next year. On April first, I am not gonna go
on social media. I'm not gonna talk to him because
I got.

Speaker 10 (38:01):
Very excited that I thought a new season of Love
Is Blind was coming. Oh no, it's all these people say,
I'm gonna be on it, and then they weren't.

Speaker 7 (38:08):
I saw Jared Smith say that he was done doing
sports hosting and he was gonna focus on fitness, and
I looked at that. I was like, Jared's a bad decision.
I didn't even like it because I thought it was
a bad decision. Oh that wasn't true. But I was
supposed to know it was an April Fols joke. When
Jared Smith does the fitness stuff, absolutely not. Then the
one thing I saw that was actually kind of funny.

Speaker 13 (38:25):
But again, what it's supposed to be funny, and all
of these people keep posting things and posting pictures and
I'm supposed to know it's a joke because it's April first,
it's not funny.

Speaker 7 (38:36):
But Lydd's the hat place did post something that I
did laugh on on April Fools, and it's not true, thankfully,
But they were like, oh, your team sucks, don't worry,
just get the Velcrol hat and you can switch the
team every time your team sucks.

Speaker 2 (38:49):
Switch that.

Speaker 10 (38:50):
That was the only one that I literally was like,
is this real? Because this is a bad idea. Then
I realized it was April Fools. But I don't like that.
I thought a new season of Love Is Blind was
coming and there was nothing.

Speaker 2 (39:03):
But do you mean you don't like that hat? That
sounds awesome?

Speaker 10 (39:06):
No, that's it's hilarious.

Speaker 2 (39:08):
Put all of them on there.

Speaker 10 (39:09):
But that we ruined it. April Fools used to be funny.
It used to be a couple of pranks. Social media
ruined it. I'm over it.

Speaker 2 (39:16):
Manzi's wearing a black cap right now. And if you
just made thirty two gray NFL logos, you would have
thirty two different hats on it.

Speaker 10 (39:24):
I could but that isn't the point. No, no, no,
you suffer with you when they suck, you suffer. Okay.

Speaker 7 (39:31):
I feel like, in fact, that should be the rule.
If your team loses, you gotta rep them the next day.
You gotta suffer with the team.

Speaker 10 (39:37):
That should be the rule.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
Oh I actually it's a really good idea. I may
make the damn hat. Steal it from the April Fools joke.
That's why it'd be great.

Speaker 10 (39:47):
No, no, April Fools is done, cancel it over.

Speaker 2 (39:50):
It is that a Titans hat? Nope, no Jaguars. Oh
my good all right, good work Manzi and congratulations to
use LA. That's fun as they win the national championship.
And I'll tell you what, after getting their first final
four berth last year, now coming through, I think I

(40:11):
was just as shocked as anyone that Yukon lost. But
I can't say that I was in depth with the
college game to realize on you know, well, South Carolina
is just good. You just maybe felt that Yukon was
this unstoppable force. But congrats to UCLA for getting that
national championship. He's carry roads. I'm dan byer Lebron James
had some harsh words from Memphis and Milwaukee and Cleveland.

(40:34):
But was he right? We'll talk about it next Cleveland.

Speaker 1 (40:40):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (40:44):
You know, Kerrie, the timing couldn't be more perfect. Right
now in Milwaukee, Uh, it's the Lebron James Bowl. It's
the Memphis Grizzlies against the Milwaukee Bucks. And you're saying,
why is that little Lebron James Bowl? Well, you will
find out in a matter of minutes. If you missed
it earlier this week, welcome in. It is a national championship. Sunday,
you heard Manti said UCLA cutting down the nets in

(41:07):
the women's game topping South Carolina with ease. There was
a pregame handshake. It was timely with Don Staley and
Corey Close. Corey Close now can cut down the nets
Don Staley. Fashion. We talked about Kim Maulky and her outfits,
Don Staley as well a Balenciaga. Am I saying it correct?

(41:28):
All right? I'm sure that she is some sort of
deal with them, But in Corey Close is just wearing
a UCLA sweatshirt. But that's enough to get it done
today in Phoenix.

Speaker 3 (41:39):
Yeah, fashion doesn't win the big game. Dan, I think
that's what we're talking about right now. And we talk
about these head coaches, and there was actually conversations about
head coaches going back to wearing the suits, suit tie.

Speaker 2 (41:53):
I think they should. You think they should. At least
you don't have to necessarily wear a tie. I think
sport coat is in slacks. What does that do to you? Dan?
What does they give? I just I think it's I
just like it. It shows authority, it shows direction. I
wish NFL head coaches could wear suits on the sidelines
like the old days had suits. Yes, yes, NFL doesn't

(42:18):
allow it anymore. They only want you team gear is
they want people to buy that stuff in the team shot.
The NFL doesn't allow that anymore. So if I had
to pick, I am on the side of Don Staley
in the fashion of the Balenciaga, then I would of
a And don't get me wrong, you know me and golf,
I love a good quarters. We see that a lot
on the men's sidelines. I think Dusty May in Michigan

(42:39):
will wear a quarter?

Speaker 7 (42:39):
Is it?

Speaker 2 (42:40):
But I say, go the Dan Hurley looks sport coat
and shirt. I'm fine with it.

Speaker 3 (42:44):
Well, Dan Hurley Steel looks like a maniac out there,
so I don't think the suit's really.

Speaker 2 (42:48):
Like us careful though. He's born on January sixteenth, so
just tread lightly. I forgot. I forgot. Lebron James did
not tread lightly when it came to talking about Memphis
and instead of worrying about the Lakers, that was a
shot that's actually unfair by me. I take that back.
He was doing contents with golf influencers. Bob does sports

(43:08):
and these were the comments that made headlines earlier this
week Lebron James's thoughts on Memphis. Here's what Lebron James
had to say, Well, teeing it up. I'm not like
the first guy even talk about in the NBA, Like
we all like, you guys have to move. Just go
over to Nashville. You got Vanderbilt over there, you got
the NASCAR, you got a stadium. Don't you got a
hockey team too? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (43:28):
Yeah, predator predators like you got everything. Doesn't look like
Lebron's going to be on the Grizzlies anytime soon. So
Grizzly fans out.

Speaker 2 (43:34):
There, it ain't no, they're only chances in two thousand
and three. If day had won the lottery, give me there,
and I might have pulled Eli Manning and that showed up.

Speaker 1 (43:44):
All right.

Speaker 2 (43:44):
So there are a lot of different takes on Lebron's
Some felt that he was being disrespectful to the African
American community in Memphis. Yeah, you're surprised. Yes, there was
a museum that was brought up as something that Lebron
could do in his off day. Okay, the amount is

(44:06):
going to do that, though, the well is this That's
exactly the point that this is where it came to.
And I'm trying to be I'm trying to just give
you the highlights of this. One of the arguments was
the National Civil Rights Museum is in Memphis, Lebron, how
about maybe going to see that? And to your point,

(44:27):
where was he going to see it? Twenty one times
every time that he gets there. Lebron also took some
shots at Milwaukee and another NBA town. Let's play some
of that clip. But I'm going to tell you why
I don't like this clip. Go ahead, you play it.

Speaker 1 (44:41):
See how people have tasting those name.

Speaker 2 (44:44):
Take it yep, Okay, we can stop it. The NBA
does a great thing for them. They allow media availabilities
to go on and open gyms with basketball's bouncing, so
half the time, entities like us cannot use the sound
of what Lebron is saying. So for these moments, it's
why we have Shae Moganard, our executive producer, to tell
us what Lebron said without a bouncing basketball in the background. Shaye,

(45:07):
take it away.

Speaker 9 (45:07):
I may not sound like him, but I definitely can
quote him. So quote, did I say I don't like
black people?

Speaker 2 (45:14):
Question?

Speaker 9 (45:15):
Dot dot dot. I'm forty one years old. There's two
cities I don't like playing in right now, Milwaukee and Memphis.
What's the problem with that? I don't like going home either,
and I'm from there end quote.

Speaker 2 (45:29):
Talking about uh huh in Cleveland area as well. I
am familiar with Milwaukee more so than those other cities
for a while, and I haven't been there lately with
the new arena built. But it was a running joke
amongst my friends when I lived in Wisconsin about going
to Milwaukee and having something to do because there was

(45:51):
nothing to do in downtown Milwaukee. So this attack now,
which feels like it's an attack by Lebron James on
Memphis and Milwaukee and Cleveland is actually different, Carrie, it's not.
It should be an attack on cities because Lebron James
isn't the only one this week to go hard on

(46:13):
a city and do so in a not so kind way.
Gary Cohen, play voice of the Mets on S and Y,
had this to say, while the Mets were in Saint
Louis taking on the Cardinals, and of course you know
what happened. There was a shot of the arts with
a waterfall. Because that's all that we see of Saint Louis.
Take it away, Gary Cohen on S and Y. The

(46:37):
only thing missing from that picture, as is often missing
from every picture we show of downtown Saint Louis, and
no people, no people.

Speaker 14 (46:45):
Well you know what they wanted to look picturesque.

Speaker 2 (46:48):
You could see a car driving by the right, that's
the only sign of life.

Speaker 1 (46:52):
But there's never anybody walking around. Now there is downtown s.

Speaker 7 (46:56):
Not very often.

Speaker 2 (46:57):
You're right. It's like remember the old neutron bomb that's
wouldn't knock down buildings, but just would limit at all
the people.

Speaker 1 (47:05):
It's like one of those hits Saint Louis.

Speaker 2 (47:07):
I guess it's just a photo op. People then run
and hide so they're not in the photo. So Saint
Louis now gets astray. Actually they get astray. They caught
the full brunt of it from the Mets broadcasters of
being a city where there's not much to do. I
first of all, I love the comments throughout the week
because I think all of us have been there, whether

(47:29):
you've traveled limited based on a limited basis, or someone
like Kerry who's been to a lot of professional cities
with your traveling career. Any any complaints with what Lebron
had to say, with what Gary Cohen had to say,
what these guys had to say about some of our
finest American cities.

Speaker 3 (47:45):
I have no gride with what Lebron said because those
cities I have been to with well and play that
and I don't like them either. So that's two for
two with Lebron today. I've been on this side twice today,
so that's pretty pretty interesting. But like going to play Cleveland,
I didn't even go dinner. I would just stay home.
I would just stay in the room and let the
time kind of just dwindle away, try to get ready

(48:07):
for the game. So I understand that. And then you
talk about Memphis Obviously I played in Memphis. I played
at the Liberty Bowl, right like, I've either I've been there, yes,
in a long time, and I'm a kid, so it's
not even that hard to impress me. So at that
point I'm just like, yeah, I'm just here for the game.
And obviously we had things to go to in the
ten so it's a little different because we're going as
team to these different bowling and all these events. So

(48:29):
even with your team, it's different. But as a grown
man being able to have flexibility to go where you want,
there's not many places to go in those places.

Speaker 2 (48:36):
I listen, there are crappy cities everywhere. It's just a
different take on in a different taste on what you
have and what you are looking for in that city.
The funny thing about Saint Louis. I was in Saint
Louis twenty some years ago. I think I went in
two thousand and three, two thousand and four. Went to
the old the second Bush Stadium, the old Cardinals Stadium

(48:58):
prior to the one that they currently have of where
the Bowling Hall of Fame was across the street. And
it was a Cardinals game day. And I'm telling you,
carry on a Saturday afternoon, no one was around. We
went to the Arch and we were at the stadium,
the Bowling Hall of Fame, which is I think relocated

(49:19):
to like Fort Worth or something, but it's no longer
in downtown Saint Louis. There was nothing to do in
Saint Louis twenty some years ago, and so I'm not
necessarily shocked that that was Gary Cohen's take on all
of this. I've never been to Memphis, but I understand
Lebron's take on Milwaukee. I've been to Cleveland. I like Cleveland.
You want to know why I like Cleveland because it
kind of reminds me of Milwaukee like this, you know,

(49:42):
so I understand why guys would like and dislike certain places.
But as I said, I didn't mind Cleveland. I like
Cleveland for what it was. Everybody is different Saint Louis
for whatever reason. If multiple people over decades are saying it,
they're probably isn't anything going on, the.

Speaker 3 (50:01):
Only thing that's going on in Saint Louis. Dan, I'll
tell you this, that's my mom's birthplace. So I've actually
been there, like when I was younger. Sure, and it's
a whole different.

Speaker 2 (50:08):
What did you do? You're into the arch. That's it, right,
And I hope the Cardinals were in town, so they're
not wrong. No, they're not wrong. They're not wrong. I
will say, in the grand scheme of this, though, it
isn't a city's worth shouldn't be valued on what an
NBA or NFL player or a broadcaster in a twenty

(50:32):
four to forty eight or seventy two hour stay in
that city. What you want is maybe a couple of
good restaurants and a place to eat. But ultimately that's
not how you are judging it, and it is actually
up to the local community to provide for that city.
So it's funny to me when the locals have such
an issue with it, if they aren't showing up like

(50:55):
they are in Saint Louis. I just I find it
fun that this has become something, and I find it
interesting that those comments happened in the same week, because
I felt we've all had places. There are places that
I've loved. Is I said, like, I don't mind Cleveland.
I you know, Milwaukee, just because it's in my home state.
I can appreciate Milwaukee, but you know, a place like

(51:16):
Saint Louis was on my list of places where I
just didn't think that there was a lot going on.
And I think everybody has those sorts of cities. Yeah,
they all do.

Speaker 3 (51:24):
I mean even cities like you would think that aren't
that bad in theory. I mean, like a Tampa Bay.
There's nothing to do in Tampa Bay. I mean it
would be similar to going to Cleveland or going to Milwaukee. Sure,
I mean like it it's just your taste and the
fact that it always has to go to these extremities though,
the you know, the black people coming out and talking
about being you know, a race thing, Like it's just

(51:46):
why why would it even go to that point, like
you just said it, if your city was providing these
resources or doing certain events knowing that these certain NBA teams,
NFL teams or Major League Baseball teams to come into
your city, like do something as a city to entice
them to want to come back.

Speaker 2 (52:02):
That's that's that's part of the deal as well.

Speaker 4 (52:04):
You know what.

Speaker 2 (52:05):
The only thing that kind of just turns me off
a little bit is the thought of, well, let's just
put it in Nashville, because guess what Nashville is getting
everything Nashville is inter Nashville has absolutely exploded, So let's
just put it there. Because I look at Las Vegas
and I wouldn't. I don't want an NBA team in
Las Vegas. There's enough in Las Vegas already for you

(52:28):
to do than to now add an eighty two game.
Of course, you know a team that plays their eighty
two games out of the year. Now, the owners feel
that they can make a lot of money by having
a team in Vegas, so they're going to put a
team in Las Vegas. But for a fan experience sort
of thing. Maybe, you know, maybe that will become a place.
I know hockey fans, Hey, Golden Knights are a team

(52:49):
would go to Vegas and make those sort of trips.
I get all that, but I don't. I don't love
it when there's stuff already there. So I find it's
I find it unique. I like the charm of it.
I'll give you another city because it's it's similar in
what Memphis is in that it's a one team professional
sports town. San Antonio. Have you been to the river

(53:12):
Walk in San Antonio? No, it takes you thirty minutes. Okay,
Mary Mack, have you been to the well, yeah, of
course she has. Yeah, what's your what's your take on
on San Antonio.

Speaker 7 (53:23):
I didn't go because my aunt asked, and I said
no because I don't want to be outside hot and
walking around.

Speaker 2 (53:28):
Yeah, I was there. I've been there a couple of them.
There for a final four. It's different because it's about
four of the parties. Everything's going on. But I was
also there in the seven finals and they played Lebron
and the Cavaliers and in Mintal you know, early early
to mid June in San Antonio when there isn't you know,
thousands of people coming into town for that. Sure they

(53:48):
were caught up in the Spurs, but as a visitor,
it wasn't great. But in the World, the Sea World
and the Alamo is you know, right downtown there as well.
But other than that, like it's not like the greatest
place to be. But how awesome is it that San Antonio,
you know, has the Spurs. How awesome is it that
Memphis has the Grizzlies. How awesome is it that Sacramento

(54:11):
has the King? So it's who cares what Lebron James
has to say about those cities. Yes, that's my point.
I like the uniqueness of the teams, especially the one
you know team sports towns, even if your town isn't
that exciting.

Speaker 3 (54:24):
And the crazy part about that, Dan is that's the
that's the difference, That is the cutoff.

Speaker 2 (54:28):
Though.

Speaker 3 (54:28):
These are the athletes and these broadcasters are going to
these places multiple times. They're not experiencing it as a
you know, we're going on the destination. We're going on
the holiday to this place where you can you can
appreciate it differently. We're there, they're there multiple times. And
so he's probably already seen everything that Memphis has to offer.
So he talk about the museum, talking about all these things.
I'm sure if that was something that a player or

(54:51):
somebody wanted to do, they've already experienced it.

Speaker 2 (54:53):
So what else does that city have to offer? And
you didn't even mention Graceland, Like, didn't even mention you know,
the King, nothing at all. Share there any cities on
your hit list that you that you aren't necessarily a
fan of. Yeah, but it's like it's not sports related, Okay,
what is it? What is it? Mexican Albuquerque? I've never been.

(55:15):
I've been.

Speaker 9 (55:15):
There's just nothing, there's nothing to do, genuinely, what's New
Mexico known for Breaking Bad? Yes, which is a fake
movie show.

Speaker 2 (55:23):
So like that lady yelling at you as you try
to take pictures, but I think she's selling. Yeah, yeah,
is that house in New Mexico? Also, I don't even know? Yeah, yes,
yes it is, Yes it is. But they're just there
are always cities that were always catching strays.

Speaker 3 (55:38):
And you know, do you think it's also because say,
because you said San Antonio, right, like, but people do
go to San Antonio to experience you know, the walk
and the Alamo Alamo, you know, and all that stuff.
But the Spurs are a championship team. You see, he
didn't say anything about not wanting to go there. Do
you think the success of the teens in those areas
also is a big deal? Like Memphis hasn't won anything,

(55:59):
They've been competitive, but you know what I mean, is
that a fact?

Speaker 2 (56:02):
I don't. I don't because I think that the Bucks
have been good for you know, prior to this year,
they've been really good. Yeah, again, their downtown has changed,
but it may have also changed for the people living
there are not necessarily the people that are traveling there
for for overnight's day, and that's I mean he took
a shot at the Memphis Hotel. You know, he didn't

(56:23):
like Memphis.

Speaker 9 (56:24):
It seemed opinionated. This was very so like this was
he had no facts backing it up. Any sports team
city is going to have good places to go to entertainment.
There's the reason why a sports team is investigate it,
you know.

Speaker 6 (56:38):
What I mean.

Speaker 2 (56:38):
Yeah, So it's like, you know, the race thing I
thought was just really odd and yeah, but one of
the things I was pointed out was like, is there
a nightlife in Salt Lake City exactly? You know, like
it's like and and Mary Mackison like kind of but
but maybe not really. And I think that I listen
Phoenix and I'm like, when you go to Phoenix, it

(56:59):
is life. Well, I was just gonna say Phoenix for
me not really exciting because guess what I'm running into
the night life?

Speaker 6 (57:05):
You like that.

Speaker 2 (57:06):
There's a lot of the Yeah, so it's to each
their own, except when it comes to Saint Louis, because
that places had twenty some years to figure out how
to bring people the downtown. I love you, mom, and
she left. What are you talking about? These carry roads?
I'm dan byer Monzie Belanos this year, as is as
Shay Mogan Guard and Mary Mack on the ones and twos.

(57:28):
It is a Fox Sports Sunday with the iHeart Radio app.

has popped up in Vegas. What does that mean for

(57:50):
the Raiders. We'll talk to our NFL in said her
next year on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (57:54):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (57:56):
Radio Fox Sports Sunday. He's the all pro carry Roads.
I'm Dan Byer, glad to have you with us. I
just don't think that athletes are really the ones to
tell us on what should and shouldn't be cities that
host teams. Brendan sweets in saying way to completely disregard

(58:18):
the Las Vegas Raiders as a pro sports team in Vegas.
I think he was talking to me.

Speaker 6 (58:23):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (58:24):
I don't know what I did. My point was, there's
just so much going on in Las Vegas. Yes, that
adding us another team now in the NBA is because
we already have the A's going there. The Golden Knights
are there, and the Raiders are there. So that's that's
pretty full built along with everything else that is going
on at that point. I just you look at what
a team means to San Antonio or what a you know,

(58:47):
team means to some of these one team towns, and
I just think that sometimes sports teams can get lost
in the shuffle of that town. I'm curious to see
how the the A's end up doing. But you know,
as the people of Oakland, you know that you want
the Raiders back, all right. So Adam Kaplan, you hear

(59:08):
him just now. I find him on Exit Kaplin, NFL,
see him on Sports CAREA to hear him on the
Inside the Birds podcast. It was also this week. I
guess it is a perfect transition, Adham, where Las Vegas
was awarded Super Bowl sixty three, and so now you've
got the Super Bowl in LA coming up next season

(59:29):
back in Las Vegas again. The rotation of the Miami
New Orleans, Tampa sort of thing seems to be shaken
up by all these newer facilities out west here, with
Vegas in LA really kind of having a stamp. Do
you think that is going to continue? With Las Vegas
and LA being spots maybe every five years for Super Bowl.

Speaker 6 (59:49):
So the way it works is Dan, is that when
teams get a new stadium, if they're in a warm
weather city, Okay, in the warm weather city, they're going
to get a Super Bowl. Now the Vegas one, it's
going to be twenty nine, and yeah, it'll be their second.

Speaker 4 (01:00:01):
You know it was.

Speaker 6 (01:00:02):
I was there for that one. I mean it was
the week was really good. It was a little weird,
I have to tell you. It was this It was
this kind. I didn't get it because you know, we
had to work that week, so it was on Radio
Row and I don't I go to I don't go
to the game. I always leave Saturday morning. But Radio
Row out there in the Convention Center was definitely weird.
It's just not there's something about football in Las Vegas.

(01:00:23):
I find to be very odd, to be honest.

Speaker 2 (01:00:25):
With you, Adam. I mean, so much going on right
now with Puka and Nakuwa, h can you talk about
him in that situation and what's going on.

Speaker 3 (01:00:34):
I mean, I know he's in line for some you know,
deals and all these things as the season progresses, but
he's just he's been in the news a lot for
things about non football things.

Speaker 2 (01:00:43):
Yeah, and by the way, so.

Speaker 6 (01:00:45):
Yes, he's definitely in line for an extension to be
paid somewhere in the neighborhood of what JSN got, you know,
around forty million a year. But he's still on a contract.
He's on the final Universe deal. He's got his off
the field situation, which is serious. It's being taken care of,
so the Rams don't They could just wait. They could
just wait to see how he's doing and make sure

(01:01:06):
everything's in line before they do this, because you when
you're handing out that type of money. I know Stan
Kronke and his ownership group's very generous, but you want
to make sure you're pretty comfortable with how he's doing
and making sure nothing else happens. So I it doesn't
have to happen now. They could they they could do
it anytime that they want, because remember he's hut our contract.

Speaker 2 (01:01:25):
Yeah. I just I'm glad that Puka is getting the
help that he did. You know that he that he needs.
I think that's the one story. I just don't know
how in the world, And I think that and I
hope that he did it for his own health, but
I also think that there is the contract there. I
just don't I don't know how in the world you
could ever now give him that sort of money after

(01:01:48):
after the incidents, and thank goodness, he was stopped, you
know when it was. But I just if i'm if
I'm less need in the rams, There's there's no way
I can top JSNS right now.

Speaker 6 (01:01:58):
No, But but the thing is about six weeks ago,
that's where is headed. And now you have this latest one,
which is you know significant that this off the field issue.
So he's good, he's take care of his private business,
but down the road they'll have a decision to make
about how they want to handle this situation in his future.
He's been an incredible story development, great job by less News,
by the way, one of the best drafters. And what

(01:02:20):
I find really interesting, it's absolutely true that they were
in the aj Brown situation, but ultimately they they would
have to trade Devanti Adams, who would be hard to trade,
and then you got to pook a thing which you
throw in there. It was very complicated. And by the way,
Devanti Adams turns thirty four to subber.

Speaker 2 (01:02:36):
Wow. Yeah, I don't think he would think his numbers
has touched on. Numbers are great, yep, but I don't
think that there's a lot of player. Yes, absolutely so
the aj Brown, Adam kaplan, our NFL ins that are
joining us. Is it just the Patriots? I mean that
is that the pretty much? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:02:54):
Look, guys talking to the Patriots privately, when he talked
to clubs, you just get a sense of where they're at.
Like they signed Romeo Dobbs. I know they're really happy
with they have Kishon Boody who's kind of developed, but
they're missing that big piece to put them over the top.
And look, let's face it, Drake May had a bad
Super Bowl. They feel like it had nothing to do

(01:03:15):
with his shoulder injury. He just missed too many open
pass targets.

Speaker 2 (01:03:18):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (01:03:19):
But they need that one big time go to pass target.
They don't have one. I mean, they just don't and
that's what's missing. But they, I don't want to say
they felt feel like they're being held hostage. By the
Eagles with what they're asking prices with over a first
round pick, which the Patriots don't want to pay. It's
just that the Eagles kind of want to like to
do this before June. First, Thegles take on a massive,

(01:03:42):
massive cellar cap pit, and the Patriots feel like the
Eagles want to attack them for that, which is delaying
this guys. But what I would tell you that the
urgency to do trades. Ironically, one was Aj Brown traded
four years ago during the first round of the NFL Draft.
So I feel like if it's going to happen, it's
going to happen during the week.

Speaker 2 (01:03:59):
It could happen closer to the draft.

Speaker 3 (01:04:01):
What I mean, besides the first round pick, he's an agreement. Yeah,
off the finalist, Adam, you just said it. But besides
the first round pick and obviously want to get this done.
I mean, it obviously makes sense. I mean, AJ's played
with variable, he's had his problems with him before also,
but he also he should be a little bit more
mature at this point, obviously, but going into a situation
where he's already won, this is another situation where this

(01:04:22):
team is primed to win right now.

Speaker 2 (01:04:25):
How do you see it fitting?

Speaker 3 (01:04:26):
Obviously we know he would be the alpha, that alpha
receiver in that room, but also Rabel runs things a
little bit tighter, So how do you think that works
with his personality moving forward?

Speaker 2 (01:04:35):
Even now?

Speaker 6 (01:04:36):
Actually, you know, Mike Rabel and AJ are actually very close.
Mike was very open about it at the combiny. It
was kind of funny he was asked about getting a J.
Brown and he couldn't talk about him as a player.
He says, hey, just you know, it's not a secret.
He and I are close. We text a lot, oh wow,
which is interesting. And the receivers coach Todd Downing was
on the staff when he was there. And a little

(01:04:58):
nugget for you, so three years ago, well before Vrabel
got there, the Patriots actually tried to get AJ Brown
from the Eagles before AJ Brown's on his last extension,
so they've always wanted him, and Elliott Wolf has had
a fascination with him, so they know this would help
them put over the top. And quite frankly, if I'm
the Eagles, I want to get a twenty twenty seven
first round pick. I don't want, I don't want. I

(01:05:19):
don't want one this year because the Patriots came out
of nowhere. Their schedule is going to be much harder.

Speaker 2 (01:05:24):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (01:05:25):
I don't see them being as good. I just don't
see them making another Super Bowl run, to be honest.

Speaker 2 (01:05:28):
And the draft classes, like twenty twenty seven is going
to be magnificent. Well that's that's the early word. Dan.

Speaker 6 (01:05:34):
Sometimes you got to see how these guys play this season,
you know, we it just it looks the early word.
Quarterback also could be potentially good. But the Patriots kind
of came out of nowhere. They were by far the
NFL's biggest surprise.

Speaker 2 (01:05:47):
Adam Kaplan joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. I
think the discussion about Kirk Cousins and the Raiders that
I saw on a lot of shows this week was
was misguided and it was who's gonna start Week one?
And my Kirk Cousins or Fernando Mendoz Ye. My old
point was who cares? Like I get it, it's meaningless.

(01:06:08):
I think that the the news is that Kirk Cousins
is now viewed up as I was viewed as the
warm up guy or the guy before you know, the
the opening act, if you will, If he is going
to start Week one? Did Kirk Cousins have any interest
from anybody else in the.

Speaker 6 (01:06:27):
Well, yeah, the Rams. Actually it's either going to be
Jimmy Goppolo or Cousins. The Rams are very open. They
had interested in bringing Cousins in, but Cousins. The way
I've understood it for a couple of months is the
clubs were kind of told, he'll wait a while until
he finds a spot where he could start. Well, the
Raiders this contract, forget that the length of it, that

(01:06:48):
doesn't matter that the cash that he's going to make
the season is actually significant for a backup. It's actually
low and start high in backup money around twenty million.
That's a lot. And Dan bounce with, Yeah, they're kind
of counting home to early on that. Clint Kobek was
very open at the owners of meetings is that that's
their plan, is to have Kirk start early. But as
I've learned, and I learned this the hard way in

(01:07:09):
the early two thousands when I started covering the league,
when clubs that say, hey, we're not going to play
and we're going.

Speaker 2 (01:07:14):
To do this, they do.

Speaker 6 (01:07:16):
The other thing is they actually play the player. Like
in seventeen twenty sixteen, Doug Peterson, Eagles head coach, talked
about Carson Wentz, who was the second pick overall. He
might even be our third string quarterback the season. Well,
guess what, Carson Wentz wound up starting Week one. So
we have to we have to understand there's always pressure
to play. I know the Raiders aren't going to be
very good and they have a lot of work to

(01:07:37):
do on their offense. They need way more better pass targets.
But Mendoz is their future and they don't want to
rush it.

Speaker 2 (01:07:43):
I mean, can we talk about Cousin's agent for a
minute here?

Speaker 6 (01:07:46):
Yeah, Mike McCartney, you want this is but you don't
know one very few people know this. So Mike McCartney,
who is his agent? You know, the son of the
late great Bill McCartney form the Colorado head coach. Mike
was actually the Eagles pro director in the late nineties.
He was the guy who would knock on training camp, carry,
knock on the player's door. Who they're going to cut?

(01:08:07):
We need your playbook and go see the coach. Believe
it or not, it's crazy, but Mike has had McCartney,
and Mike Mike's had Kirk cousins. It's really remarkable how
much money they've made together.

Speaker 2 (01:08:18):
Wow. Well it's the three hundred and fifty some odd
million that he's guaranteed. That's that's his legacy to me.

Speaker 6 (01:08:28):
Is that Terry Fontna. By the way, Dan the former
Falcons gym, just want to throw the two years full
of guarantee. Plet's a ten million full of guaranteed year
three gun.

Speaker 2 (01:08:36):
No the standoffs that he would have with Washington.

Speaker 6 (01:08:39):
Yep, oh I live that one. Yeah, I remember talking
to Dan. It's so funny you say that this is
what this is how I got involved. I put out
a story that they were low balling, and it kind
of blew up and they were not happy with me.
And what happened to someone called me privately and said, hey,

(01:08:59):
this is really what's going on. And honestly, they tried
me to change my story and I wouldn't do it
because nothing they gave me, nothing they told me was
different than what I had. They did not seem as
a twenty five million a year player. They just didn't
back then, and they were just they were done with them.
To be honest with you, they wanted them, but they're like,
but he's not worth it. But Mike McCartney, who Carrie

(01:09:20):
just brought up, played it absolutely well. I did the
right thing and that's why he's been paid so much.

Speaker 2 (01:09:24):
I mean then just even going to Minnesota, you know,
and it's you know, the three year and it's all
a gude. Yeah yeah, yeah, first one. You played the
game the right way, Adam. We appreciate the time. We'll
talk to you next week out facts see he's carry Rhodes.
I'm Dan Byer. Moncey Belaniells is at the news desk.
What's going on, Moncy on this Easter Day.

Speaker 10 (01:09:43):
Well, it was a big day for the Bruins.

Speaker 2 (01:09:46):
Start baclap in Westwood history, for UCLA for the first
time in NCAA Division history. But UCLA Bruins have won
the women's basketball National Championship win against South Carolina seventy
nine fifty.

Speaker 10 (01:10:03):
One Westwood one. On the call, congratulations to the Bruins
who have seven seniors on the team. Is it seven
to eight?

Speaker 2 (01:10:13):
Yeah, there is. It's a lot. It's a lot show.
It took up the entire screen.

Speaker 10 (01:10:17):
Yeah, yeah, they're more than half of the team a senior.

Speaker 3 (01:10:21):
There's a stat that said the seniors had scored the
last one hundred and seventy three points or something like that.

Speaker 7 (01:10:26):
Yeah, no, absolutely, but congratulations to UCLA. The men's title
game is tomorrow Monday, between Michigan and Yukon. Wolverine should
have Yaksol Londenborg even though he even though he suffered
an ankle injury in the final four, his imaging came
back clean. He should be good to go when it
comes to Yukon. Solo ball is uncertain. He's got a

(01:10:47):
foot injury that has him been a walking boot. He
didn't practice today, but he did speak to the media.
They just haven't said he's in or out quite yet.
Alabama coach Nate Oates signed a new contract that will
make him one of the five highest paid coaches in
college basketball. JJ spawn did win the Valero Texas Open
at seventeen under par overall. Right now, in baseball, the
Dodgers took the lead with a sho Heo Tawny sack fly.

(01:11:08):
Then they also got Hernanda h At a home run,
So the Dodgers lead the Nationals eight to six. It's
the top of the ninth inning. Ben rice In a
three run shot for the Yankees. They lead the Marlins
for to bottom of the fifth inning about to start.
Astros and the A's are tied at five bottom of
the seventh inning. The Mets scored four runs in the
eighth inning to take the lead from the Giants in
San Francisco. They're up five to two bottom of the

(01:11:28):
ninth inning. In fact that maybe this game is about
to end as we speak. The Angels have taken the
lead from the Mariners six' five bottom of the seventh.
Inning No Cal rawley has not got a hit. Yet
The diamondbacks lead The braves five ports off of the ninth.

Speaker 10 (01:11:40):
Inning cubs And guardians are tied at three top of
the seventh. Inning back to you, guys.

Speaker 2 (01:11:45):
J J spawn just retweeted my. Tweet i'm not even.

Speaker 10 (01:11:49):
That would have been so, good so.

Speaker 2 (01:11:52):
Good during the, BREAK i did look up MY jj spawn.
TWEETS i did you? Did yeah're still? There, yeah yeah they.

Speaker 10 (01:11:58):

Insurance open in the third. Round this Is january twenty,
eighth twenty. Seventeen it got two retweets and nine. Likes

Sports On Fox SPORTS Radi i'll follow. Him it got four.
Likes he didn't even retweet that.

Speaker 10 (01:12:28):
One is he active?

Speaker 11 (01:12:29):
Though?

Speaker 10 (01:12:29):
Before you? Like is he active on it on social?

Speaker 2 (01:12:32):
Media, well this was before he won THE Us. Open,
okay so he retweeted when The dodgers won The World
series and there you. Go so that was about the last.
Time well how crazy is?

Speaker 12 (01:12:44):
That?

Speaker 2 (01:12:44):
Dan we were See yeah in sinc we are.

Speaker 3 (01:12:46):
Guys he's looking up jj spawn tweets And i'm messing
with the tweet.

Speaker 2 (01:12:49):
Thing, well, YEAH i knew they were on. THERE i
didn't think that At Dan byer On fox AND jj
spawn would have too much LIKE i should be able
to filter out since he never. Responded but fun winner
today for Jj. Spawn good for. Him i've had a
rough start to the, season but kind of validates THAT
Us open win that he had At oakmont last. Summer

(01:13:10):
he is Carry. Rhodes I'm Dan byer actually kind of
want to talk a little bit more about The Super
bowl rotation that we had talked a little bit About
Adam kappel. About plus Did Tommy lloyd make a mistake
by staying At? Arizona kerry answers that question next On
Fox Sports.

Speaker 12 (01:13:24):
Sunday you're listening To Fox Sports Radio radio back To
Dan bayer And Carry.

Speaker 2 (01:13:31):
Rhodes on This Easter. Sunday it's also Officially Masters. Week
i'm excited about. That august The National Golf, club watching
the watching a lot Of Golf, channel watching a lot
of on the range leading up to the play starting On.
Thursday i'm taking Off thursday And. Friday, yeah just focused

(01:13:54):
on instead Of butler, Cabin we're gonna have a buyer
cabin at my. House that's what it. Is just focusing
on what is A Master's? Week, Dan when did you
get so entrenched in? Golf like when did become your like?
THING i, MEAN i know football is your, thing but it's, close,
right it's like neck and. Night so, yeah SO i
would play golf as a kid and would go and

(01:14:14):
play with my, friends but honestly was WHEN i got
into college and just like that's when, it like the
bug really. Happened like in nineteen ninety, five nineteen ninety,
six and Then tiger comes, Out, yeah and so that
ends up fueling. It but at that POINT i had
played WHEN i was, younger not. WELL i still don't play,

(01:14:35):
well but so it's been that. Long BUT i would,
say like in college is WHEN i really took, off
because you're also, like there's guys that play with. You,
yeah just during that. TIME i played a lot more
in college THAN i did even WHEN i was in
high school and. Whatnot so more time on my. Hands
who needs to? Study who needs to? Study when we've

(01:14:57):
got carry on nothing to? Study, here just got reactions
from some of the topics of the. Week we start
off Carry rhoads where he tells us if he's on
board or off, board That Tommy lloyd will regret staying At.

(01:15:17):
Arizona you on board with that or. Not i'm off.
That i'm off that.

Speaker 3 (01:15:21):
One dan going Into North carolina obviously the richest that
he would be afforded there would be you, know it
would be. Rich but winning At, arizona winning at a
place where you, know you don't speak About arizona's a blue.

Speaker 2 (01:15:35):
Blood they've had some.

Speaker 3 (01:15:36):
Success but he has a chance to do something really
special there that can be different than going To North.

Speaker 2 (01:15:40):
Carolina So i'm off. It in the first final four
and what twenty five? Years, yeah that took him to
this year didn't play out like they would have hoped last,
Night but he can. Recruit by the, way The Tommy
lloyd Leaving gonzaga And gonzaga going from here to here
a little. Lower not a, COINCIDENCE i don't. Think not a.
Coincident Topic number, two carry on or off for this?

(01:16:02):
One Cooper flag would be the number one pick in
this year's UPCOMING nba. Draft remember he reclassified and originally
was set to be in this draft class didn't want
to douke a year early and now it's in THE.
Nba but Would Cooper flag be number one in the
draft coming up In? June? Wow you on? Board on

(01:16:23):
board with him being the number one pick In june or?
Not if we, Redrafted i'm off. It i'm off that as,
well because he was clear cut than number one.

Speaker 3 (01:16:32):
Pick this in this dress this year would have been a,
debate and it would have been one of those things
where you're gonna you're gonna take the better fit out
of some of these. Guys and SO I i would
say it would be it would be a close to a,
call and he may not be. One he could Have
he could, be but he may not have. Been So
i'm off that one as. WELL i do remember in
the rankings there was he was him And Cam. Boozer,

(01:16:53):
yep you know at times of who was who was number?
One now you got A. J debontsa there as. Well
it would have been an interesting. Discussion but during a
week where he had a fifty, BURGER i Think cooper.
Fled he's strutting his. Stuff i've been, safe all. Right carry,
on are off for this? One That Gino oriama is a,
Bully i'm on.

Speaker 2 (01:17:12):
That i'm on that. One carrys on that.

Speaker 3 (01:17:14):
ONE i, Mean Gino arima has always been a. Bully
even through his success and some of the times that he,
had he always had like a smug like energy about
him and like he deserved to be their type of.
Thing AND i think his team carried. THAT i also
think it's been official for their team and their. Teams but,
yes he's a, bully AND i think that's been that
was on display this. WEEK i think he obviously didn't like.
LOSING i think that he knows. That you, Know South

(01:17:36):
carolina got, him and then their win streak the. Grounded
they won it last, year but what fifty four games
game win streak came to an. End it's also one
of those weird things WHERE i think we've all done,
it where you've had something maybe with a friend or
a family, member and you've just held it in your back.
Pocket because apparently he was annoyed last year as, well
and so now it's just where it came, out and

(01:17:58):
it was a bad look in ugly, life and, yeah
he looked foolish for. It to your, point maybe he's
always been a. Bully, yeah all.

Speaker 2 (01:18:05):
Right number four something that we talked about a little
bit earlier With Adam. KAPLAN i gave my, opinion curious
about your, Thoughts, scarry The rams should still Give puka
Contract Puka nakua a contract with more than js. N's,
Yeah i'm off that as. WELL i Think pukah's.

Speaker 3 (01:18:20):
GREAT i think we obviously know how good he is
on the, field but he's had too many things that
are alarming off the field to give that length of
a contract in that amount of. MONEY i, MEAN i
think there's ways to honor him in his, play but
not to that. Degree all, Right, finally are you on
board or off? Board did a lot Of falcons new?

Speaker 2 (01:18:38):
Uniforms?

Speaker 3 (01:18:39):
Dan this is a tough one BECAUSE i never really
was a fan of The falcons and their uniforms. Before
So i'm gonna Say i'm on, Board but not because
they look better or. ANYTHING i just think it was
time for like a revamp for.

Speaker 2 (01:18:52):
Them they needed to, change Ye but they decided they,
decided let's change and look exactly like The Arizona. Cargets
so if you see us playing bad, football you may
think that we're The Arizona cardinals, instead who also play bad. Football,
YES i was excited to see this change that we

(01:19:12):
knew was coming with The. Falcons. Yea the problem with
The falcons new uniforms and for those that haven't, seen
they're going with the red home uniform and whites on
the road like so many, do but they're keeping the black.
Helmet and there are two, areas AND i think two
worlds of fandom when it comes to The. Falcons there's
the Eighties Gerald Rag Steve bartkowski with the red and the,

(01:19:34):
gray and then there's the Dion andre rise in transitioning
into dirty birds With Jamal anderson that sort of, look
and The falcons are just trying to combine everything and
they're getting it all. Wrong if you're going to have
a red, uniform then make a red. Helmet it looks

(01:19:54):
very weird that they have their current black helmet with
that red uniform and then white. Pants it looks. Odd
and then when when you wear certain, combinations you again
look like The Arizona. Cardinals SO i JUST i am
so off board on this carry. ROADS i JUST i
don't understand what The falcons are, thinking and they just

(01:20:14):
can't make up their mind on which way to go
right or. Left they said it just fool rebranded and
went with the New Georgia bulldogs or something like that as.
Well it would have been, better, right at least they
have red helmets and red jerseys. Exactly see it. Works
and again The falcons colors were red and black because Of. Georgia,
yes and they had a gold stripe on their helmet
for in the early days Because georgia. Tech, yeah it's it's.

(01:20:38):
Crazy just make up your, Mind. Falcons by the, Way
jannis And, tetacumpo make up your. Mind we'll talk about
it next On Fox Sports. Sunday don't listening To Fox Sports.
Radio so whose side are you on in this? Showdown Giannison,
tetacumpo The Milwaukee. Bucks let's be, real carry roads THE.

(01:20:59):
Nba who is the one who's really made this entire
mess going? Down welcome in it Is Fox Sports. Radio
The bucks won The Lebron bowl, today Beating memphis one
fifteen in the two Cities Lebron james dislikes the most
in THE. Nba The Milwaukee bucks are being investigated by
THE nba for their player participation policy and the competition

(01:21:24):
policy for Resting Giannison, tetecunpo who claims he is fully
healthy and wants to. Play and now these two sides
are going at it Where giannis's camp says that, Yep
i'm ready to. Go The bucks are saying That jannis
refused to play in three on three, games in, practice in. Scrimmages.

(01:21:45):
Lord and so now this relationship that has gone on
way longer than it ever should have is likely coming
to an. End but an End carrie THAT i don't
think it had to be this. WAY i don't blame
The Milwaukee bucks on. This in a, WAY i Blame
jannis for not understanding what THE nba is and where

(01:22:09):
THE nba is at this, point AND i kind of
want to blame THE nba for all of. This, now
there is a contingent in and around The bucks of
the fan base who are, saying this team did everything
it could and then some to make, you honest happy

(01:22:30):
to do What yiannis. Did gave him the, contract gave
him the, money made the, moves got the, players did
everything that they did to try to keep him In,
milwaukee and now is a time where they kind of
need him to play ball with them and he won't do.
It and as he's likely out Of, milwaukee and there's
a contingent of the fan base that just kind of,
says all, right thanks a, Lot joannest you know you.

(01:22:53):
Can you can't even end this. Nicely where do you
come out Of milwaukee not wanting to play? Honest as
they've been eliminated from the playoff front playoff, contention and
now THE nba looking into Whether yanna should have been
playing or. Not, YEAH i put a lot of this
on both of. Them.

Speaker 3 (01:23:09):
OBVIOUSLY i Thought milwaukee could have ridded themselves of the
situation at the trade deadline and made that. Happen obviously
they wanted more AND i understand the, standing but they
could have ridded themselves to this situation as. Well And
i'm gonna Blame giannis as well. Here leannis is definitely
doing this out of spite at the end here and

(01:23:30):
instead of it just being a ceremoniously gifted exit for
both of these both of these, individuals these entities which
has had an experienced success along the, way also. FAILURE i,
mean they brought this kid over as a kid and
really molded him into the mandidias in this, city and
so there's credit on both, sides but there's failure on both.

(01:23:52):
Sides so not in this at the right appropriate. Time
and so right, now when you don't end something to
the right appropriate, time dan leakage. Happens somebody gets a
little bit mad about some. Situation that's that's going to
happen as this thing continues to wind. Down but it's
almost like that Old MARY. J. Blatson It's i'm going

(01:24:12):
down instead Of i'm going. Down it's going down for
both of these. Teams and now they both gone on.
Payperward doesn't she also have is?

Speaker 7 (01:24:19):
It is it?

Speaker 2 (01:24:19):
Too much drama or, yes, drama, yeah because that's what it.
Is that's what we've got In. Milwaukee but this situation
isn't any different in my mind to what happens With
Max crosby and The raiders In Las vegas at the
end of the. Season, now The ravens deal is separate
and how that fell, Through but the point is is

(01:24:42):
The Milwaukee bucks have a piece THAT i get they
didn't trade at the trade. Deadline one of the reasons
WHY i don't think that it IS i think they
wanted more people, involved more teams, involved and at the
trade deadline they didn't feel that that was the. Case
maybe it was only just a couple of, teams but
if you do it via or in the, offseason that

(01:25:03):
you will have more of an opportunity to have more
suitors for whatever you would. Like and maybe it's draft,
picks a whole boatload of draft. Picks SO i get
them delaying. That But Max crosby was banged, up and
we now see how much he was banged up that
The ravens decided to go in a different direction With
Trey hendrickson and whatever their story. Is but there was

(01:25:26):
a question About Max crosby and his, knees just like
there's a question About Giannison tetacunpo and his. Health so
if you're The Milwaukee bucks and you're trying to Trade,
giannis the last thing you Want jiannis to do is
to blow out his acl in one of these, games for,
sure and for The bucks to be in the hole
that they, Are and the reason WHY i blame THE,
nba AND i know that THE nba now with the second,

(01:25:48):
apron are trying to discourage dynasties in the way that they.
Are but The bucks got themselves into this position because
of the way that THE nba is, structured because as
they were in contention for so Much gary that they
felt and maybe this is the wrongdoing Of John horst
in the front, office and there seems to be some

(01:26:09):
discord and, ownership but The bucks felt that they needed
to continue to make these moves to Acquire Damian. Lillard
they did the deal With Drew holliday that ends up
ultimately bringing them a, championship so that ends up, working
but all of the sub or being worth, it all
of these subsequent deals after that ended up not paying
off for. Them so now they're kind of stuck and

(01:26:32):
their only way out of it is to not be. Competitive,
well would you want THE nba or THE nba wanted
The bucks to just punt on seasons and not Surround
giannis or attempt to Surround yannis with a better. Talent,
no so guess what they had to overpay for a
lot of this stuff to try to get the team

(01:26:52):
Around giannis to keep them in. Contention and now that
they aren't there, anymore they're in that bottom third of the,
league and the bottom of the of the league just doesn't.
Try it's why we've got how many games that are
being decided by thirty or more. Points it's Why Cooper
flags scoring fifty one points in a game right, now
it just is the winning streaks are, crazy losing streaks are.
Crazy this is what, happens and now it is ended

(01:27:13):
up being the silly season in THE. Nba but it's
THE NBA i think that ultimately Put milwaukee in this,
situation but not When milwaukee was. Losing it was When
milwaukee was. Winning so now to try to recoup any
of the assets that they have because, really for the
next three or four, drafts they don't have their own
first round, picks they either give it away or it's
a pick. Swap this, year they can't have the first overall.

(01:27:35):
Pick no matter what, happens they will not get it
because it conveys Through New orleans To. Atlanta and so
if You're, milwaukee you're trying to figure out different ways
to recoup what you gave up to try to make a.
Winner and now THE nba is trying to punish you
because of that by Keeping. Giannis who cares If jannis
didn't play today against The Memphis. Grizzlies nobody wanted to

(01:27:56):
watch that, game, Right, Yeah so that's what we're penalizing them.
For to, me it's it's it's. Ridiculous AND i know
it hurts In milwaukee with The bucks With giannis because
of what he's, meant but being two time zones, away
this to me is AN nba. Problem so THE nba investigating,

(01:28:16):
it to, me is ridiculous considering THAT i feel that
THE nba is the reason The bucks And giannis are
in this position in the first.

Speaker 3 (01:28:23):
Place, yes when it falls when you put it that, Way,
dan it definitely falls on THE nba on that in
that particular, Case right when you talk about being able
to move on or being able, to you, know provide
these landing, places these these spots For yannis to, go
and you receive the compensation that you think you. Deserve

(01:28:44):
those things are you, know that's that's based off where
teams stand and where players, stand and they're understanding of
what they want to get. Done but THE nba and
trying to force them to Play jannis in a meaningless.
Game right, now nobody's nobody. Cares and you said, it
but nobody cares about that right.

Speaker 2 (01:29:01):
Now giannis said in the off, season and IF i
had the biggest side to take THE nba completely out of,
It i'm signing With milwaukee on. This i'm not signing
On gianni's. Side but we found out through reports That
giannis would have gone to The knicks this past. Offseason
that's what we had heard, Previously so all, right so
he gave a suitor and The knicks weren't willing to
give up what they wanted to. Do, well he only
wanted to go one. Place this is A Milwaukee bucks,

(01:29:24):
team not Only, carrie that tried to fill out the
team Around giannis and continue the winning ways and did
whatever they could to try to keep him In. Milwaukee
they also kept his brother on the roster for how
many years for, Sure and for the people that brought
up The Lebron James Brownie james thing and tried to

(01:29:45):
compare it to The milwaukee, situation it probably isn't that.
Different probably wasn't that that. DIFFERENT i thought that The
Nasis intetakompo was the toughest player in THE nba that
you would ever be able to trade because he probably
didn't have the value that ANOTHER nba team. Wanted but
The Milwaukee, bucks it was he was so valuable to

(01:30:06):
them because he Was jannis's. Brother, yeah and they had
him on the team and he brought energy and played a.
Role but there's other guys that you could also get
to do, that and so they kept him on the
team and that was a reason he was on the.
Team but that's not even, considered, Right like that's just
so there's just been enough THAT i Think milwaukee has
done For, giannis so now they don't want to play.

(01:30:28):
Him AND i don't think that anybody would look At
jannis's legacy and say, like, well you didn't play those
final months In milwaukee and think anything. Different and that's
WHY i sided With milwaukee and all of, this and
why his people are trying to fight, IT i have no.

Speaker 3 (01:30:40):
Idea, yeah, NO i mean, AGAIN i would think that
we've seen enough Of giannis to know that he cares
about his image and he cares about What like when
we talk About, yiannis the first thing we said before
he was Even Superstar yiannis was that he was going
to play it through. Everything he's going to play. Hard

(01:31:00):
he was that guy like that is his, image and
so that's taking a hit at his. Image so for him,
PERSONALLY i know why he's standing up for himself in that.
Instance and this relationship with The Milwaukee Milwaukee bucks is
already over and we know that as, Well so he
doesn't really hold Any he's not gonna hold any punch
is when it comes Between milwaukee and his, image AND
i think that's the that would be the only THING

(01:31:21):
i would say from.

Speaker 2 (01:31:22):
THAT i think that's. FAIR i think it's absolutely. FAIR
i just think that the people that are that are
siding With giannis on this because it's he wants to.
Play this isn't the, Normal this isn't the NORMAL nba
sitting out for you, know personal, reasons rest that sort of. Thing,
yeh What i'm why AM i blanking on the? Phrase
what was?

Speaker 7 (01:31:41):
It was it?

Speaker 2 (01:31:41):
Overload what was the load? Management that's what it? Was
so we would we would make so much of a
deal about load management in THE, nba and why guys
would sit? Out this just isn't that. Case, no that's
not the situation. Here AND i think that The Max
crosby situation with The raiders is is probably more applicable
than any other situation that you had in in THE.

(01:32:04):
Nba and look at what The. Raiders look at where
The raiders. Are they landed the number one overall, pick
and for a while there they had two first rounders
Because baltimore was willing to give up you know that
For Max. Crosby, yeah so that's What milwaukee is looking.
At AND i JUST i don't know how you could
side With giannis in this, situation especially if you're THE,
nba considering that they're the ones that ended up developing

(01:32:26):
and putting them in this. Situation but THE nba want
some some blame from anybody besides themselves, obviously, right. ABSOLUTELY
i mean it's it's it's become the silly, season you,
know it's, amazing and we got to take a time.
Out BUT i just want to we. Start when when
can we watch THE? Nba and the REASON i say

(01:32:46):
that is because a few years, ago twenty twenty two
was the year THAT i Thought boston down the stretch
really played well at the end of the regular season
and they turned it on and it set them up
for a run to THE Nba, finals where they ultimately
lost To Golden state last. Year but it happened at that,
time it happened with others as, well where we saw

(01:33:09):
crazy winning, streaks we saw crazy losing, streaks we saw
guys score crazy amount of. Points and now we're starting,
this we're seeing that more. MORE i Mean Cooper flag's fifty, One,
Yeah BAM's obvious eighty three sticks out like a sore.
Thumb so if we're not, caring if we're not going
to watch From march first to the end of the

(01:33:30):
regular season because of the silly, season we miss a
week In february because of The All Star, game we're
not watching In november And december and the second week
In october because football's on In january is kind of
the dog days of winter for THE, nba where you're
just kind of, like it feels like there's like three

(01:33:51):
weeks of THE nba that we should care, about like opening,
week maybe a couple of weeks In, february then a
couple of weeks leading Into, march and then that's about.
It because The jazz right now eight game losing, streak
The nuggets are on an eight game win, streak The
pelicans have lost seven in a. Row Cooper flag scoring
fifty one. Points it's JUST i thought this was an
opportunity for teams to ramp up for the, postseason and

(01:34:14):
it just doesn't feel like.

Speaker 3 (01:34:15):
That and it used to be, Yes and that's the,
thing like at this time right, now teams were at
like fool, Go like you weren't seeing guys missing, games
like people were actually coming back at this time to
ramp up for the playoffs because you wanted that cushion
going into the playoffs for that team to be, ready
people to be in, shape to have chemistry going at
an all time high at that. Point but right, now you're,

(01:34:35):
right it's just it's not that same. Feel and you're
talking to somebody that enjoys watching basketball and enjoys THE
nba in, general and you're. Right if it's not your,
Team i'm not really paying attention to much that's going
on right, now and that's.

Speaker 2 (01:34:48):
Insane, well the thunder guess what their record is in
the last, ten nine and, One spurs in their last,
ten nine and, One lakers in their last. Ten now
different with their, injuries eaten Two nuggets in their last,
ten nine and. One The rockets are in the fifth,
spot have won five. Straight but when you look in
The Eastern, conference the top five teams are either eight

(01:35:09):
and two or seven and three in their last. Three,
now you may think that goes along with how they're
playing throughout the, year but when you look at the
bottom of THE, nba it's just one and, nine one
and nine in their last, ten one and, nine two and,
eight one and, Nine and it just is giving us
those blowout games that nobody really is caring. About This
Lakers mavericks game is supposed to be a highlight. Tonight

(01:35:30):
i'm curious to see If lebron turns it. On BUT
i mean if it was a one twenty eight or
one thirty eight one on one, game would be. SURPRISED
i don't think. So, no he's carry. Roads I'm Dan,

AIR i love to be. POSITIVE i think you're going
to do well in. Scoring but we had talked a
little while ago about The lebron, conversation What Gary cohen
had to say about the city Of Saint. Louis what
cities did you like to go to during your travels
as AN nfl? PLAYER m CITIES i like to go

(01:36:43):
CAUSE i told you during the break That i've always Liked,
Atlanta like there's something about the vibe Of. ATLANTA i
don't know what it, is BUT i just Love atlanta
LIKE i, do AND i can't give you a specific.
Reason there's just something about, it LIKE i like being.
There even the traffic there doesn't bother, me even though it's.
Bad like there's there's just something About atlanta THAT i.

(01:37:07):
Like so instead of being negative and Saying Saint louis
thinks And memphis isn't good And milwaukee's bad that's been,
SAID i wanted to spread some. Positivity SO i Like.
Atlanta all, right let me.

Speaker 3 (01:37:20):
See and it's it's crazy because for us in THE,
nfl a lot of times our time is limited in
that city when we go there for the sorter. Game
BUT i would, say obviously we Enjoyed San. Diego San
diego was a nice place to go and visit and. Play,
Sure i'm just Thinking i'll.

Speaker 2 (01:37:40):
Be there And i'll be there later. Times you will
be there, Later, Dan so there you. Go So San
diegogo the Spot. Manti do you have a place a
city that you feel is not, underrated but just a
place that that you like that others may may. NOT
i mean you're just In San francisco for the ball
game last.

Speaker 10 (01:37:59):
WEEKEND i don't know IF.

Speaker 7 (01:38:00):
I don't know if there's a city THAT i have
been to that has good. Talk i've only been to
like the major, cities.

Speaker 10 (01:38:10):
AND i feel like everybody likes. Them LIKE i really Like,
CHICAGO i really liked you, Know.

Speaker 2 (01:38:15):
Denver there would be a great one Love.

Speaker 7 (01:38:17):
Denver like but even with all the weather that happened
in forty eight hours WHILE i was at both of those.

Speaker 10 (01:38:22):
Places BUT i, yeah In San, FRANCISCO.

Speaker 2 (01:38:25):
I think those are. Good good, Nominees Shaye Mary. Mack
you got any cities that you love that maybe people
wouldn't necessarily think you. WOULD i Like pittsburgh a. Lot, Yeah,
Pittsburgh Great pittsburgh. Guy, Yeah it'sburgh's, awesome big. BIG i
love the little bridge they have when you're walking to
the Panc park and they've got so many bridges because
of the.

Speaker 9 (01:38:44):
Rivers, yeah did realize that, either but you you kind
of just like because you kind of take a tunnel
to come into the.

Speaker 2 (01:38:49):
City, yeah that's from the. Airport it's worth it to
just go through that when the city hits, You, like
it's completely.

Speaker 9 (01:38:56):
Worth it because you're not expecting it and then it
just hits. You you're, yeah because you see all the,
stadiums you because it's like you're coming out of a hill,
almost and LIKE i wasn't expecting it at, all but
it was.

Speaker 2 (01:39:07):
Insane it is.

Speaker 9 (01:39:08):
Awesome it was a really cool. Stadium but, LIKE i,
mean not stadium is a really cool. City but seeing
all the stadiums, everything it's kind of like a triangle
because you got the football field right, there and then
you got Panc, park and then you got their. HOCKEY
i don't know what their hockey stadium is, called but
that's over.

Speaker 2 (01:39:22):
There was It Pittsburgh Paints.

Speaker 9 (01:39:23):
Arena i'm A browns, fan so it's weird being A pittsburgh,
fan of a fan Of, pittsburgh not A pittsburgh.

Speaker 2 (01:39:30):
Fan, pittsburgh you, know had a bad reputation for a
while of just being a town of. Nothing. Exactly it's
got so. MUCH i think that's a good Called Mary
mack fan of. Them you got any honorable mention cities
we need to give props.

Speaker 14 (01:39:41):
TO i did Like, Baltimore, baltimore all, RIGHT i did
like B. MOORE i did also Like. Chicago, yeah, YEAH i.

Speaker 2 (01:39:51):
Mean, yeah all those are.

Speaker 3 (01:39:52):
Great you, Know Crazy dan the one that people don't
talk about a, lot, OBVIOUSLY i think sports fans. Do
But Green bay is, amazing like when you when you go,
there what You, NO i am not, Joking like there's
AND i think we talked about this is the, thing
right like as a, Player i'm going there with all

(01:40:12):
this history of knowing all these things and knowing all
the greatness. There AND i think that part that's WHY
i asked that question earlier in the, show right about
if you go to.

Speaker 2 (01:40:20):
These places and these these these teams have winning.

Speaker 3 (01:40:23):
HISTORY i think the history sometimes Out trump's BECAUSE i,
mean we're not there to have a good time and.

Speaker 2 (01:40:28):
Party we're there to go play, again you know WHAT i.
Mean so it's different Something you also stay In appleton.

Speaker 14 (01:40:37):
Family In Auscarleton, cities.

Speaker 2 (01:40:44):
So it's it's unique to hear you just just to say.
That but BECAUSE i think The packers make that. City,
yes and THERE'S i, mean you, know WHEN i was,
eight we drove over To Bay, beach the amusement park
that was that was. There no love For Bay, Beach,
No but BUT i do think that you're correct in,

(01:41:05):
that and maybe there's something a little to the spurs
In San antonio that we weren't talking, about even THOUGH
i do think The River walk is. Overrated but that's,
uh that's neither here nor they're great golf In San.
Antonio props for. That, yeah you're, Right, ACTUALLY i think,
right Fir pa might love that. City it's, cheap it's. Cheap, Yes,

(01:41:31):
no you're, right you're. Right let's play easy as, one, two, three.
Four he's carry roads the Al. Pro his goal is
to get a perfect score of. Ten doesn't mean he
gets all of the answers, Correct he just needs to

it was an absolute train. Wreck dude could blown their
lead And yukon ended up coming back and winning the questions.

(01:42:13):
MESS i was like, this like, no answers couldn't. Think,
yeah he was so in shock and wasn't being. Here
it would have been bad if me and my that's
that's my. Rule, yeah my questions were not, Good mary Mack.
Wright they stunk last. Week there are a couple of
spring break questions, today all. Sports let's do. It name

(01:46:03):
three of four? States, okay states three or four that
are home to two or more different schools that have
won a women's basketball national. Title so multiple, schools different
schools in that state would need to win a national.
Title and there are four states that have multiple schools

(01:46:25):
from their state that have won national. Titles give me
three of. Them remember the women's game not recognized until
nineteen eighty, two so that's where we.

Speaker 3 (01:46:34):
Start so three, states three of the four. States so
we Got, california, Right we've Got. Stamford now we GOT.
Ucla does that count for?

Speaker 2 (01:46:44):
Today?

Speaker 8 (01:46:45):
Yeah, alright So, California. California, OKAY i would go you,

U South. Carolina they've all been Very texas has a
lot of.

Speaker 9 (01:47:12):
SCHOOLS i just feel Like texas is a safe. Bet

Speaker 10 (01:47:18):
Volunteers, uh tennessee the.

Speaker 2 (01:47:21):
Bulls he said two or more, though, right, yep, yeah
there'd have to be another school if those schools were
correct within their.

Speaker 9 (01:47:29):
State, Wow so we let's think this from a state.
Standplay we Got. California So california is a big. State,
yes there's a lot of schools In. California what's another big?
State i'm Thinking, Texas texas?

Speaker 2 (01:47:43):
One all, right Go? Texas so we need one, more that's.

Speaker 9 (01:47:45):
All i'm, thinking you know WHAT i. Mean like last
time we had a question like, this which was two weeks,
Ago texas was on. There none of us thought it
was LIKE smu and it was like AN ncaa QUESTION i,
remember but it was a it was a men's.

Speaker 2 (01:47:55):
Question it wasn't a women's. One all, right who else
has won championships? Here like hm, Hm and we're thinking
it's it's eighty, two it's very. New it.

Speaker 9 (01:48:05):
Was we got to think there isn't a lot of
programs out. There so like the l s us with
What manzi was saying is Does South carolina have more than?

Speaker 1 (01:48:14):
One?

Speaker 2 (01:48:15):
Legend? It that's, Good, ohio because you got, noted you
gott Notre. Dame and you Have ohio's it's that's. Somewhere
write that.

Speaker 9 (01:48:30):
Down we Have, Texas, Ohio. California we need one More
texas we need we only need. THREE i thought we
need no need three or three three or four three or?
Four So california is. Mine you Say, Texas, SHAY i
Like texas. Safe bet you know all right In?

Speaker 2 (01:48:45):
Ohio In? Ohio, okay show Me. CALIFORNIA i know That

BUT i know she was part of The Lady. Texters.
Wow But La tech was the other. School So, Texas,

honestly with with that is it's not like It's indiana
Or indiana state. Exactly That's Notre dame. Here it's Like
texas and M texas and oh all, right so you've
got five points out of, six we're gonna go To.

eighteen SO i remember the champion AND i completely forgot

(01:56:23):

LIKE i was WHEN i was looking back and seeing That,
michigan you, know was in The national champ and just
going back in. HISTORY i remember twenty, thirteen you, Know Trey,
burke but twenty, EIGHTEEN i was, like oh, geez that. Happens,
completely just completely forgot about. IT i have no idea what.

Speaker 5 (01:56:45):

SAY i was gonna, say Guest, villanova Agan, zaca what
team was?

Speaker 2 (01:56:50):
That What michigan team was? That who was on? That,
Yeah Franz wagner was on. There, really, YES i don't
remember that one at. All i'll give you the FULL
i give you the full. LINEUP i just that was
The Dante DiVincenzo thirty one points OR i think it
was thirty one points in That National championship. Game so,

(01:57:13):
yeah they won seventy nine to sixty two over The Michigan.
Wolverines the starting Lineup Moe, Wagner Charles, Matthews Asaiah, Livers Xavier,
simpson And Mohammad Ali Abduah. ROCHMAN i have no, IDEA
I i but you would, Know Jalen, brunson of, course,
YEAH i know you. WOULD i know you. Would, yes

Well this is the twenty seventeens or twenty eighteen team
or the yes, yeah, Yes so in twenty Seventeen gonzaga
lost To North carolina in The National championship. Game. Yeah
and then the year probably was The Chris jenkins shot
Against North carolina And houston in twenty. Sixteen. Wow and
in twenty nineteen was The virginia run that they went

(01:57:59):

good hit to, go, Guys and props To shay this
when he went to The texas portion of. It that's
what this game is all, about is thinking of it
from maybe a different sort of. Turn And mons even
said it Like, okay we Have. TENNESSEE lsu was one.

(01:58:21):
Titles maybe there's one other. School South carolina was another
one that you. Mentioned you, know Maybe clemson could have
won one at one. Point but good, thinking, guys that's
that's what these games. Are And mary mack put Pulling
Arnold palmer and then you guys do. It, no, no, no,

mary thank, you all. Right so Will. Michigan Will michigan
cut down the nets for the first time since nineteen
eighty nine tomorrow night Against.

Speaker 3 (01:58:58):
Connecticut, well and for the sake of the twenty eighteen,
TEAM i think they will get it done. Today since
nobody remembers that, team, right we'll remember this team this
year for. SURE i think this from top to bottom
at the beginning of the, year this was the team
that a lot of people. Picked here we ARE i
think they win. It they have just been so.

Speaker 2 (01:59:17):
Dominant, yeah it's hard to see anything, else and The yukon,
thing Like yukon's run is. Great and we just had
a conversation to start today's show to kind of come
full circle About Danny hurley's spot right, now just eight
years in At yukon and talking about him being an
all time great and what a third title would mean

(01:59:38):
to that. Legacy but When yukon knocked Off, Duke duke
hadn't been playing great throughout THE ncaa. Tournament there wasn't
a game where they had an easy time with Even
siena in the opening game that was on the, ropes
and there were injuries that they battled. Through but Maybe

(02:00:00):
duke Wasn't. Duke But michigan has shown this form, before
AND i think it's just so difficult to see that
as good As yukon, is that anything would Stop michigan
from winning tomorrow. Night, Yeah yukon doesn't shoot well enough
to beat, them in my. Opinion they hit a lot
of threes.

Speaker 3 (02:00:16):
YESTERDAY i think they hit thirteen Yesterday, Yukon but as
far as this timement has, been all their shooters have
been pretty. Cold so for them to come out and
have a crazy run in this, GAME i don't think
it's gonna.

Speaker 2 (02:00:27):
Happen, WELL i didn't THINK ucla was gonna win the women's,
Tournament and what do you, Know they go out and
they Face South carolina the championship. Game and so just
down the road FROM us here in Southern, california they
are celebrating In westwood AS ucla brings some of their
first women's national. Championship so this is probably the last
time we get to talk college hoops for a. While,
man that's all, RIGHT nba playoffs AND nfl drafter around
the corner and oh, yeah, everyone It's masters. Week it's

(02:00:50):
