Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
We have got drama here at Fox Sports Radio, so
much so Mantie Blanios has just left the room. She
is out of here. On is this a fumble? Is
this not a fumble in the Houston New England game?
If it is a fumble, it would be Houston's twenty
fourth turnover of this game. Carrie, this first half that
(00:25):
we're now earlier, the second half took forever. I don't
know if Shay was able to track down numbers, but
of real time, it took like an hour and fifty minutes,
not fifteen. It felt like fifty an hour and fifty minutes,
almost two hours to play the first half. But you
got the Patriots up on the Texans, and it does
look like the Texans ended up retaining possession.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (00:45):
No, this game is like all playoff games, is gonna
come down to the team that can take care of
the ball. And Houston has not taken care of the ball,
and that's why they're down eleven. But they're driving the ball.
Right after halftime, they're inside the thirty of New England
and trying to put punts on the board, get points
on the board here we're in a different ball game.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
See, this is the tricky thing about being at the
news desk. You can only do what they say, and
they ruled it a fumble at that time, so Moncey
was spot on with their observation. Ultimately the fumble was reviewed.
It was an expedited review, but Houston ends up keeping possession.
Speaker 5 (01:18):
If they would have.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Turned that over, I don't know how you could come
back because you know there's going to be more mistakes.
It's been a mistake filled contest in New England with
the Patriots up eleven, and the Patriots have been the
one who have been able to cash in. They haven't
been perfect by any means. But there was an opportunity
earlier in the game where the Texans forced to Drake
May fumble. The ball could not be recovered by anybody
(01:39):
as it was going towards the end zone. It ended
up being recovered by New England, but Texans could have
gotten the safety, could have gotten a defensive score at
that time, and it said they forced a punt, and
then there was another scenario that came in. So there
have been opportunities for both sides, but Houston right now
just can't hold out of the football.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
And dan in these games, they're a little bit different
in the regular season. Obviously they all count, but right
that play you're talking about where the Neil Hunter could
have picked up the ball, could have just fell on
the ball. Yeah, and secure possession. You try to make
the spectacular play, pick it up and score a touchdown
instead of you know, these points and everything matter so
much more and it's so much more magnified here. I'm
(02:17):
sure that will be talked about, but yeah, you just
got to get on the ball and get possession for
your team in that position.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
I'm a little frustrated, Honestly, I'm a little mad at
these two teams because.
Speaker 5 (02:26):
I liked this matchup.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
It was something that we talked about earlier this week
on Fox Sports Radio. Of the four games that we
had this weekend, each had their own intriguing storyline, but
I thought this matchup between New England and Houston was
going to be a great matchup. Of Houston's been there,
like this is their third appearance under Demiko Ryans of
the postseason, but still I look at them as a
young team carry and obviously New England is new with
(02:50):
Drake May in his second year and this version of
the Patriots is new, not the organization, but a new
Patriots team. So I was really intrigued by this game.
But it looks like it's been a game of two
teams that are a bit inexperienced in this spot. And
maybe the weather has something to do with it, maybe
the opponent has something to do with it, but it
has been a sloppy game so far between the Patriots
(03:11):
and Texans.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
You have to nail on the head it is inexperience.
So you get in these situations and just you know
what I just said before about like even just pick
just falling on the ball, Like, yeah, those moments can
be bigger when you're an inexperienced team. And so yeah,
they're they're having there, They're having their moments. But I
expect this second half to be played a little bit better,
and it's gonna come down steal to the fourth quarter.
I mean, all these playoff games have Mine is to
Seattle Sells, but on all these games have been you know,
(03:35):
fourth quarter games.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
They shouldn't have played the fourth quarter last night in Seattle,
the way that that game went between the Niners and Seahawks.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
How else somebody waving the white flag over there. They
just didn't catch it on TV.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
It's funny you look back on it and you see
Rashid Shihed take the opening kickoff and that lone touchdown
and the score and the extra point was enough to
win it, right. I mean, forty nine ers only were
able to kick two field goals, but that ended up
being the uh is as much as San Francisco could get.
And so the Seahawks wait the winner of the game
that follows this one in Chicago between the Bears and Rams.
(04:05):
It's funny because the weather seems to be a factor
in New England and all we've talked about in this
Rams Bears game is the weather. Yeah, the Rams maybe
haven't been as perfect and clean as we thought they
were during the regular season, but they are still still
a a I don't want to say a juggernaut, but
they are a quality, quality football team and that's why
(04:29):
they're a three and a half point favorite in this
game today in Chicago.
Speaker 5 (04:32):
But it's going to be cold. The Bears do have momentum.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
You just wonder is it all used up after they
win over Green Bay or do they've got something left
for the Rams today?
Speaker 4 (04:41):
Yeah, that's I think that's TBD, Dan, But you're right.
I mean the Rams when they're hitting on all cylinders,
they're I think they're the best team in football when
they're doing that, when they're hitting on all cylinders. But
we can say that a lot of times and a
lot of teams don't play full cylinder in the shareoffs
because other teams going to have something to do with that, right,
And so the Bears come into this game, they have
(05:03):
home field event advantage, they have the quote unquote weather
advantage in the situation as well. I don't think the
weather will play as much of a problem as people think.
It's going to be cold, But as long as as
long as it's not wet, then I think the Rams
will be fine. But if we get some precipitation in
the air and on the ground, then that will change
change it up a little bit.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Yeah, I'm curious, especially with the temperatures, because I think
both of these teams secondaries are gettable with Chicago and
Los Angeles, So we will see how that plays out
and if it ended up being on the shoulders of
the running game, I actually like Chicago's a little bit
more than Las. Yes, with swift and mean ung guy
as opposed to Williams and Korum. So not that Chicago
(05:46):
would have an advantage, but I don't I like what
Chicago has in that spot. So if it became because
of the cold weather a running game, I actually think
that that could favor Chicago in this instance.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
Yeah, I mean, I see why you say that they
both are. They both are very similar in their back
approach as well, and even the way they get to
the run game. They both like the running stretch. They
like to get angles for their backs to get that
one foot down and plant and find the cut back lanes,
and both of them are really good. I think the
only reason I would say that they it doesn't favor
(06:20):
Chicago is because of Chicago's defense, and so even if
the running backs are better, Chicago's defense has been terrible
in the postseason. So that's the only thing I would
say about that situation.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
Texans on their drives ended up settling for a field goal.
They had a third and two, and CJ. Strode with
these conditions, with the snow rain mix that they have
and that they're dealing with now, it's turning more to snow.
Unable to get a tight spiral on the football, Christian
Kirk and Ball ended up kind of floating towards Kirk
on a third and two was unable to reel it in,
(06:51):
so they settle for three. So it's twenty one to
thirteen in the contest. Winner of this game gets the
bo Nicks less Denver Bronco in the AFC Championship Game.
And I guess that's the proper way to start to
connect this game. But talk about the gut punch and
the disappointment for everybody involved. And I know it's not
(07:13):
over for Denver, but it can't be a great feeling,
especially if you're a Bronco fan, to find out that
your quarterback is going to miss the AFC Championship Game
and possibly the Super Bowl if you can navigate that
because of that broken ankle.
Speaker 5 (07:25):
Yeah, hey man, that sucks.
Speaker 4 (07:27):
Man. You get you get done. You have a triumphant
like big win to advance to the to the AFC
Championship Game, and then before you can even on the
podium that that momentumness just taken away from you. Now,
that doesn't mean they can't win, but talk about a
real gut a gut punch in real time. That's that's
(07:48):
that's man, that's just that sucks.
Speaker 6 (07:50):
Dan.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
You want teams to be at their full full strength
and to see that that happened and to see that
he finished the game and know that, you know, you
can get through that stuff with with the or with
the emotion and all the things that are happening in
that moment adrenaline.
Speaker 5 (08:05):
It's it's bad. It's a bad place, Dan.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
That ever happened happened to you where you're like, oh,
I did something, maybe I could play it in a
couple of plays, and then all of a sudden you realize.
Speaker 4 (08:15):
Yeah it did. Yeah really in Minnesota. I hate playing
in Minnesota, Dan, every time I went to Minnesota. Something
is that they hold the Homer Dome, the Metrodome. Yeah
it was that feel was terrible, Dan. It was hard,
surface was not clean and not cool. But man, yeah
I broke my I broke my foot, so I I
fractured my fifth Metatassle Planet.
Speaker 5 (08:35):
I literally felt it.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
I was like, oh, that doesn't feel good, but finished
out the drive, went over to the sideline and kind
of just like walked off and I was okay, yeah,
that doesn't feel good after running and planting after I
broke it sat down, they went to check it. They're like, yeah,
you got a fracture. I was like what, and so yeah,
you can play. I played a couple of plays after
I was done, but was done for a few weeks after.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
That, Dan, geez, did you just feel like you could
this is this is the very amateur chiropractice. Do you
feel like you just you needed to adjust something?
Speaker 4 (09:05):
Was it sore or was it It wasn't even sore, Dan,
I just like it just felt different. Yeah, And that's
the thing. It's just like, oh, that's not normal. And
so it wasn't like a sharp pain. It wasn't something
that I was, you know, ultimately worried about at the time.
I was like, I was just you know, I'll go
tape it up or I'll sit down and to be fine.
But no, it was it was broken. It was fractured.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
Well, Monte Bolanos said something to me off air and Montie,
I don't even know if you remember what it was,
but I think it's what a lot of fans outside
of Denver a thinking. And she's like, can't you just
have the bills playing the AFC Championship game?
Speaker 7 (09:35):
Like no, no, right, I mean I'm not the only
one that feels this.
Speaker 8 (09:39):
Well, there's no way.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
I think a lot of people. Chris Perfett is giving
you the thumbs up. Yes, just by by default in
letting that happen.
Speaker 8 (09:49):
It happened to Florida State.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
I saw something online, Dan, what a second, we just
do like an end season trade and just trade Josh
Allen to the the Barbos and let him playing the
so little what you're saying right now? Yeah? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (10:02):
Or how about this, we keep Josh Allen on the
Bills and.
Speaker 9 (10:05):
No, no, you play guillotine this see this year you
been together the guillotine leans. I'm saying that we shouldn't
let the Bills roster get poached by the Pronos where
it takes all.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
Oh, that would be great, although I really need to
see that Bill's Buffalo Bill logo in an end zone
for a Super Bowl, but we're going to miss out
on it for another year.
Speaker 4 (10:25):
The drama.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
By the way, I don't know if people realize that
Sean Payton did two press conferences last night. That's right,
because he had to come back and talk about the Bonnicks.
So there was one where he was wearing a sideline
gear with the orange hat and then he came back
in his winter gear out where it was you know,
black codie sweater and the jacket, and they had to
(10:47):
notify everybody about the Bonnicks injury, and it caught everyone
off guard. And I don't know if Jared Stidham is
going to win on Sunday, whoever they play, if they
play Houston, if they played New England. I just find
difficult for it to be two games. And I don't
look at it as even of a Nick Foles sort
of situation. It is because at least Foles had a
(11:10):
couple of regular season games and you go on the
run that you do. I just think it's really difficult
for a team that was already limited in what they
could do.
Speaker 5 (11:19):
You don't have a JK.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
Dobbins there in the backfield to alleviate some of the
pressure of running the football, so you use Boe Nicks
with that.
Speaker 4 (11:27):
Oh yes, what'd you see, Kerry? Oh it's a strip sack.
I mean, oh, yeah, they finally got on the ball
this time. What to say it, Dan, Just dive on
the ball, just get the possession. But Uston got a
strip sack and they got the field goal to start
at twenty one to thirteen, and now they're back in
business again.
Speaker 5 (11:41):
Is this the fourteenth fumble of the game.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
I just said, this is this is this is crazy
and yeah it was knocked out Will Anderson coming around
it truly is It's remarkable on how many times we've
seen the ball knocked out of anybody's hands.
Speaker 10 (11:58):
The rain has turned into snow at this point too.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
Yeah, it's not it's not even about that. It's got
to take care of the ball. I would think that.
I get like when it's it's wet, yes, like this
is probably easier. Yeah it is. It's not like that's
dry though. That's the thing is like it just it
then just takes a while for it to become more
(12:22):
So that's true.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
I don't think I don't think anything is really more
beneficial or the other in this scenario. But the Texans
are going to take over in New England territory at
the thirty three yard line after that turnover, and now
it's just up to the Texans and CJ. Strouts to
not make any mistakes. And he gets sacked on his
first down, so on the first down pass attempt, so
now it's going to be second and long, and with
(12:45):
that sacked, he'd be out of field goal range right now.
For a fair baron going back to the Broncos and
Bills game, I do think we need to address a
lot of what came from that contest. Yes, I'll tell
you what we'll do. Let's see what the Texans do
on the second down play. We'll see how they do
in the second and third. This is a pretty important
point of the game. We'll take a time out on
(13:06):
the other side, we'll talk about the past interference. We'll
talk about Josh Allen's comments that he made easy as one, two, three,
four comes up at two forty five today, and then
we bring back for the first time in twenty twenty
six according to Monsei, Yes, this is at coming up
at six twenty five Eastern. Excuse me, six forty five Eastern,
(13:27):
three forty five Pacific time here on Fox Sports Radio.
So now I manageable third and six on a completion
by c. J. Stroud. Here you are, Kerry. Third and
six is an ideal, but it's better than a third
and sixteen. They get about ten yards back and reviewing
if they catch was made on the second down play
by Jayden Higgins they're calling it a good catch for
(13:49):
right now, but in this situation, it's just don't do
anything stupid. CJ.
Speaker 5 (13:53):
Stroud, Yes, run the book, thank you.
Speaker 4 (13:56):
He will. He will make his game so much easier
if he if he runs the ball when he should.
I know he wants to be a pocket passer, Dan,
but he leaves so many yards on the field. But
that was a smart play right there, to play, yeah
play Cary's talking about. Straud did not see anybody open,
saw a gap to run and took off and got
the first down on third and six. So the Texans
(14:17):
now will be set up first and ten at about
the seventeen yard line of New England. It's an eight
point ball game, and I would assume you get the
touchdown here. I know we talk a lot about chasing points,
but you got I would go for two to try
to try to pull even even if it's just the
third quarter. With these conditions you don't know about kicking
(14:38):
extra points aren't going to be guarantees. So if you
go for two, I think that would be the better
setup that we have in New England. If you're the
Houston Texans currently down eight twenty one to thirteen five
point fifty five in counting in the third quarter. Be

Hitting the ones and twoesdas they say, and the Texans
will end up facing a third down and about five
(15:21):
is what he Marx ran for the ball lost control
of it and it has been recovered by New England.
Are they calling this a fumble? Carry Roads, We're about
to see I thought he was down, but oh no,
another one, another one, another one.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
We've been on the air another fifteen minutes and I
think we've had eight turnovers in this window so far.
So now the Texans have turned it over and another one.
I thought from the camera angle he was down, and
they showed the other camera and it was clearly a fumble,
clearly stripped, players are going for the football and now
the Patriots get a key turnover in this game, the
(15:58):
eighth turnover of the game. Five by Houston, three by
New England. That's why this game is taking a day
and a half to complete. He's Kerry Rhodes, I'm Dan Byer.
We talked about the Bills mess and we'll see who
turns it over again in New England next year.

Back to Dan Byer and carry Rhodes.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Keeping our eyes on what's happening in New England. Texans
lost that fumble, but Patriots weren't able to do anything
with the football. Romandre Stevenson, who got off to a
great start for New England, out of the game because
of an eye injury. So it's twenty one to thirteen
Patriots on top of the Texans. Now three twenty and
counting to go in the third quarter. Texans have the
(17:21):
ball near midfield right now at about their own forty
four yard line. Carry up by carried twenty five roads.
You can find me at Dan Byer on Fox. My
opinion matters to me, Okay, it does. My opinion matters
to me. But I will say that I think Carry Rhodes,
while possibly being biased because of the position that he played,
(17:45):
his opinion I think will carry more weight than anyone
else's on what transpired on that Brandon Cooks play with
Jakwan McMillan last night in Denver where it appeared that
the Buffalo Bills they have a big play on hand
on a third down and seven and ultimately turned into
an interception. Was it an interception in your mind or
(18:10):
was it a completed catch? By Brandon Cooks of the
Buffalo Bills.
Speaker 5 (18:15):
It was so many mechanisms that went into that play.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
Dan.
Speaker 5 (18:18):
First off, I'm going to say it was an interception. Okay,
it was.
Speaker 4 (18:23):
And for the record, if you freeze frame things in
the in the position or the place that you want
to see the result that you're looking for, you will
find that.
Speaker 5 (18:34):
Yes, in that play.
Speaker 4 (18:36):
But in full goal. As he's catching the ball, he's
going to the ground. As he's hitting the ground, remember
we gotta we gotta go through the ground for the catch.
We've already established that through plenty plays we've seen this year.
As he's going to the ground, the ball is not secure,
it's moving. The dB continues to fight. He's doing what
(18:59):
coaches taught him to do his whole career. You played
through the whistle, you played through the finish, you played
through the hands. He did everything correctly. He was in
a trail position. He didn't look back. He just played
the ball so perfect. dB tape takes it away, pulls
it out. Done interception, right, But it shouldn't have come
(19:20):
down to that. And I'm gonna say this, because he
beat the dB off the off the line. If Josh
throws that ball on time, or throws a good ball,
the game's over. So people are missing that part of it, right,
Like the controversy is the controversy, and I can see
why people say it either way. But if Josh throws
a good ball, we're not having that conversation and this
game's over. So there's plenty of things that happened, but
(19:40):
I'm gonna say it was an interception.
Speaker 5 (19:42):
And I know him a dB, but it is an interception.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
Listen is Sean McDermott talking about to play afterwards where
I actually agree with Kerrie Rhodes and not the Buffalo
Bills head coach.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
No, No, it's not on him.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
No, And we had opportunities.
Speaker 4 (19:59):
All was and I'm extremely proud of him.
Speaker 3 (20:03):
He's a tremendous person, tremendous leader, tremendous quarterback. And yeah,
there's plays we all went back.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
Yes, Okay, So that was Sean McDermott talking about Josh
Allen in his play. There was another cut where Sean
McDermott said that he was taking up for Buffalo and
taking up for Buffalo on that pass interference call. We'll
get to more of the Josh Allen portion of what
he was saying. But McDermott talking about how he was
taking up for Buffalo on that call is to me
(20:31):
complete window dressing. This was the Bill's head coach.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
I'm saying it because I'm standing up for Buffalo.
Speaker 6 (20:36):
Damn it.
Speaker 12 (20:37):
I'm standing up for.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
Us because what went on is not that is not
how it should go down. In my estimation, that plays
these guys spend three hours out there playing football, pulling
their guts out to not.
Speaker 4 (20:49):
Even say, hey, let's just slow this thing down.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
That's why I'm bothered, and he should be bothered by
that portion of it, because this is how I view it.
I thought it was an interception. It was an interception
ruled on the field. It's an overtime replay rules would
allow you to take a look at it. It's also
a turnover carry. You're looking at all turnovers. Yes, they're
always being reviewed. I understand that portion of it where
(21:15):
Sean McVay felt that not enough time was taken. But
the reason I think not enough time was taken was
because of the call on the field. Yes, and I
think it was approved by replay assist which allowed them
to then move on with the gameplay.
Speaker 5 (21:32):
At the twenty yard line.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Now, I thought McMillan was actually probably down at about
the eighteen yard line, so I think that's something they missed.
In the end, two yards didn't necessarily matter in the
time being. On the third and seven, I also thought
this may be just as good as a punt. Yeah, right.
But so then when Denver goes down and scores the
other way. And this is the main part I think
Sean McDermott understands everything. I think that is only leg
(21:57):
to stand on is that I didn't get as much
of an explanation as I would have hoped, and is
standing up for Buffalo is guess what, it's another early
exit for Buffalo, even though it's the divisional playoff round
and another blemish on Sean McDermott's record. Their defense got torched.
They they played a game and a half last night.
You know how many sacks they got on bon X.
(22:20):
I'm mean to get zero and then sack them. They didn't,
so like there would be frustration there. So Sean McDermott
is saying all the right things that are good for
Sean McDermott but aren't necessarily based in reality. And so
that's that's one portion of it. The other portion that
I will say, you said it wasn't a great ball
by Josh Allen. I don't disagree on that. But I
(22:42):
also look at Denver's receivers and I think that Brandon
Cooks was magnificent for the Bills as a pickup for
them and gave them legitimacy. But Brandon Cooks isn't the
biggest guy out there. And when you're a bigger guy,
you could draw pass interference right courtland like you would
think like, oh no, you can fight through it. I
(23:03):
think when a little guy is jumping up in the air,
it looks more sporadic. It doesn't look as controlled. Look
at how Denver got set up for their game winning
field goal. Two pass interference penalties. I actually think the
second one that Tardivious White was so mad on was
more egregious than maybe the first one that they had. Yes,
like in that point, like Denver could have scored a touchdown,
like there was you have to call that penalty. But
(23:24):
it's on the heels of the first one that you're
still mad about. So then you feel like you're getting
more robbed, and then you thought you were getting robbed prior,
so now you're even more mad about that. And then
you have Joey Bosa throwing his helmet in the tunnel
because you're mad about the whole sequence and realizing again
you didn't get any sacks in the Denver Broncos yesterday.
That all builds up, yes, like so is. Everything is
rooted in the same spot, but it's coming out in
(23:46):
different ways. The Buffalo Bills, for as great as a
story that they are, one that I got to experience
earlier this year, felt like I got a much better
understanding of the fan base. They had every opportunity to win,
and it didn't happen, and it wasn't an incomplete pass,
(24:08):
or excuse me, it wasn't a completed pass. It was
an interception, and everything that then happened after that made
it convenient for their narrative and their story, and I
just I don't buy that.
Speaker 4 (24:20):
I think that the brod.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
Goes won it fair and square if you will carry
carry roads, But you can't say Kulda would have shut
up because the Bills had so many other opportunities.
Speaker 4 (24:32):
Exactly, Dan, that's it, And so all these ancillary comments
and we're doing it for Buffalo and all these things
it's nice, it's sweet, it's a good story. But all
that doesn't matter. We're talking about the game, and we're
talking about what happened in those plays or whatever after
your press conference. I mean, even bringing up a situation
for empathy or compassion for you, that's manufactured. It doesn't
(24:55):
sit well with a lot of people, right, Like you
sit there, you say what happened, and you can pressure frustration,
you can do whatever you want, but then you're bringing
in the city. I mean, for me, when I hear that,
it's just him trying to protect his job. The rest,
the rest of it doesn't matter. But then you said
it Buffalo didn't play good enough. And they've played this week,
this year, this way, all year. We talked about Dan
where they their identity. They put so much stock into
(25:19):
two players offensively, right, and so if that's going to
be the case, and those two guys played well at times,
I mean cook hat of fumble, I mean Josh Allen,
you know, had his turnover problems that game, and you're
trying to plug and play all these guys that aren't
that aren't really good. I mean, you got Kean Coleman,
who's been a colossal failure. You're bringing Brandon Cooks and
you said it, he's been he's been great for them,
(25:40):
but he is.
Speaker 5 (25:41):
A smaller guy.
Speaker 4 (25:41):
So and in all, in the perfect world, Dan, that
ball that Josh threw the Brandon Cooks, you would want
that to be Keillon Coleman.
Speaker 5 (25:50):
That's why, Yeah, that's why you drafted him.
Speaker 4 (25:52):
Correct the fact that that didn't happen, and you're putting
people in positions to make plays that shouldn't be in
those positions.
Speaker 5 (25:58):
These things happen, and you've got to You said a
great point.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
If that was Courtland Sutton, he's not running to do this,
he's jumping this way, he's attacking the ball in a
different way, and that passing appearance is probably going to
happen because he's in the trail position.
Speaker 5 (26:10):
That that was a great point. But then you talk
about all those things.
Speaker 4 (26:14):
They didn't play good enough, and you look on the
other side, say, if Denver would have lost that game,
Sean Payton.
Speaker 5 (26:20):
Had already he was already ready to do the same thing.
Speaker 4 (26:22):
He talked about a holding that happened again Buffalo and
the end zone, So the game should have been over already.
It's all all these things don't matter. The game is
the game you lost. You were not good enough, and
he just it sucks because Buffalo would have been a
good story in that spot, but they just didn't get
it done.
Speaker 5 (26:37):
He's carry Roads. I'm Dan Byer. This his End Zone Radio.
Speaker 2 (26:40):
We are watching what's happening in the AFC Divisional playoff
matchup in New England. For an update on that, let's
go to the news tesk Amanzi Blanias giving us the
latest of the Patriots in Texans so much more. After that,
we'll talk about Josh Allen and what Sean McDermott had
to say and hear from the Bills quarterback.
Speaker 4 (26:55):
What's going on, Manzi, that wasn't an interception.
Speaker 5 (27:01):
On the other side of it.
Speaker 7 (27:01):
I don't care why why you keep saying that, because
I've seen very many plays call where I see a
guy fighting whatever and they catch it and then they're like, no,
he's down with the knee all the time and the
tie and.
Speaker 8 (27:15):
The tie goes to the offense. Yeah, but I feel
like I've seen it so.
Speaker 7 (27:19):
Many times where it's like no, they're declaring he's down
before the guy takes off with the ball.
Speaker 8 (27:24):
Like I feel like it was he the ball.
Speaker 7 (27:29):
Was stripped from him, he knew he caught it, he
tucked it in and he fell and as he rolled,
as he's trying to survive the ground, it gets taken
away from him. But before even that, he does catch
it to me, and he does hit the ground with
his knee and he's touched by the other player. So
it's like that happens before everything else happens. Like I
just have seen this call this way before, So I'm
(27:49):
just confused.
Speaker 8 (27:50):
I don't know anything to catch it. I know anything.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
Then the other times were wrong if you would have
been running for forty yards and then that sequence has happened.
He's down because he's down by contact, But there are
no point.
Speaker 5 (28:04):
I don't think that. I just don't think you can
rule that as possession. And that's and that's the thing, Mansie.
Speaker 4 (28:08):
What Dan just said, that's the possession part of But
it's just it wasn't a possession yet.
Speaker 7 (28:12):
I feel like I've seen less bee called for, you
know what I'm saying. So it's like I could see
you could keep explaining it to me. I just feel
like I've seen this be called the other way.
Speaker 5 (28:22):
Remember the Isaiah likely touchdown.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
Yes, So like there's like there's this similar thing and
like how many steps did he have to take that
they took away right right? Like Isaiah likely was one
hundred times more of a catch than what last year was.
Speaker 7 (28:36):
What about Xavier Worthy? Also, there was like a play.
Speaker 5 (28:39):
That was an awful call, you.
Speaker 8 (28:40):
Know, I'm just I'm just there's awful calls. Bills were bad.
This is not like, you know, correct, the bills were bad.
Speaker 4 (28:49):
Josh Allen was bad.
Speaker 7 (28:50):
Yes, So like this is it. This is not what
caused him to lose a game. It's just this play,
you know. So I don't I don't see it is
a precursor to recording a monster making Listen, I could have, but.
Speaker 8 (29:02):
I'm not even gonna talk about that.
Speaker 4 (29:03):
I'm not even gonna talk about that.
Speaker 7 (29:06):
Houston has had a rough first half, particularly because CJ.
Strott had four interceptions in.
Speaker 8 (29:11):
The first half. But they're still in this game.
Speaker 7 (29:14):
Kayimi Fairbarron just hit a fifty one yard field goal
to cut the deficit for Houston to just five. So
the Patriots are up twenty one to sixteen. They're about
to start the fourth quarter. New England has the ball
at their own forty three yard line. It's second and
ten again. They're about to start the fourth quarter. CJ
Strout has Storm fo one hundred and seventy eight yards
in a touchdown again, four interceptions in the first half.
Drake May haves Storm one hundred and thirty one yards,
(29:35):
two touchdowns and one interception. Weather has definitely been a factor.
Speaker 8 (29:39):
We'll see what happens in the fifteen.
Speaker 7 (29:40):
Minutes left still to come the Rams and the Bears.
That's gonna kick off at six thirty pm Eastern time,
and as a coaching Carolsel continues. According to multiple reports,
the Titans have finalized their top three. So they were
supposed to have a virtual meeting with Robert Sala, who
now can take virtual meetings because the forty nine Ers
lost two Dan's seahawks in the first seventeen seconds of
(30:01):
the game, but they skipped that and they're gonna meet
in person.
Speaker 8 (30:05):
With him tomorrow.
Speaker 7 (30:06):
So forty nine Ers defensive coordinator Robert Sala their meeting
in person tomorrow with Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Naggi and
with Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Halfley. Those apparently are the
final three for the Tennessee Titans.
Speaker 4 (30:18):
Those are the reports.
Speaker 8 (30:19):
Coming out right now.
Speaker 7 (30:20):
Steelers are expected to speak with former Cowboys head coach
Mike McCarthy about their head coaching job. Eagles are expected
to interview former Giants head coach Ryan Dable for their
offensive coordinator vacancy.
Speaker 4 (30:31):
Great higher when it comes.
Speaker 7 (30:32):
To the NHL, guys, The Senators right now lead the
Red Wings two to one halfway through the first period.
Lightning already beat the Stars four to one. In college football,
former Florida quarterback DJ Lagway is signing with Baylor.
Speaker 4 (30:45):
Yes, yeah, back to you guys, Thank.
Speaker 5 (30:47):
You very much much. Roxie, it is end Zone Radio.
Speaker 2 (30:49):
She'll be a lifeline for carrying a little bit easy
as one, two, three, four, Nita your assessments. I'll catch
of Josh Allen and why he said what he said.
Speaker 5 (31:00):
That's quickly. Just if you needed a refresher if you
missed it last night.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
This is what Josh Allen had to say after the
game after the loss to the Broncos.
Speaker 1 (31:07):
It's extremely difficult.
Speaker 13 (31:10):
I feel like I feel like I got my let
my teammates down tonight.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
It's been a long season. I hate how what it ended.
Speaker 12 (31:18):
And that's uh, let's go stick with me for a
long time.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
There may be people who mock the teers. I do
not mock the tears. I think it's absolutely legitimate. Your
point about the point that he that there's so much
on his shoulders, Yeah, he's one true like that's and
that's why it was on his shoulders last night. Yes,
that's so. Four of the turnovers, the Dawson knocks pass
(31:45):
at the end of regulation that he missed them on
that he rushed them, that would have been the touchdown
right before they had the game tying field goal. That's
on Josh Allen. That's all on Josh Allen. So it's
I know people want to say, no, man, it's your
two man show. Then blame the Bills because that's how
they've constructed this monster to be on the shoulders of
Josh Allen and James Cook. James Cook had one hundred
(32:07):
and forty yards of total offense yesterday. They put thirty
points on the board and the sack Bonix once. Yeah, right,
five turnovers, Buffalo the ball for forty minutes in the game,
and they still couldn't get it done. And that's that's
on the construction of the team. And when it's ultimately
all on Josh Allen. Then you have to roll with it.
And Josh Allen made mistakes the field goal at the
(32:28):
end of the half they lose by three, right.
Speaker 4 (32:31):
Yes, and and and both things can be true. A
lot of things can be true. But he can be great,
and we can give him praise and we can do
all that. That's fine because he deserves it. But when
it is his fault, when he comes up short, yes,
you gotta give it to him quickly.
Speaker 2 (32:46):
There's a difference between leg and egg, like throwing for
one hundred and twelve yards and having two yards rushing
and throwing four interceptions or doing what he did. Yeah,
I mean he was the stats stuffer and all of
his stats did matter like they did, like the touchdown passes,
all of it. But with that comes as much responsibility,
which ultimately lies on Josh Allen's shoulders. Here's carry Roads.
(33:08):
I'm Dan Byer, no tiers here on Fox Sports Radio.
Coming up next, Carrie tries to let's just say, reach
the top of the mountain. I think we've got a
winnable score. One tough question eight and a half is
your over under for easy as one, two, three, four,
Shay's going to be a lifeline. Manzi will be, as
will Chris Purfett. It's all next year, Easy as one, two,
(33:30):
three four On end Zone Radio.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio once again. Here's
Dan Byer and Carrie Rhodes.
Speaker 4 (33:41):
While we were.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
Away, the Patriots cashing in a third and six and
Kayshawn Boody with a one handed grab in the end
zone touchdown pass from Drake May extra point was good.
Speaker 5 (33:52):
It was close.
Speaker 2 (33:53):
They looked at it for a little while, but it
was a catch. Twenty eight to sixteen. Patriots lead the
Texans twelve thirty in counting now in the fourth quarter.
So the Texans, who have made a bunch of mistakes
today have not had much of a running game and
now going to have to rely on the arm of c. J.
Stroud as they are down twelve points in the wet
(34:14):
snow is falling hard and fast in Foxborough. He is
carry Rhoades. I'm Dan Beyer. It's time now to put
carry roads in the hot seats. We play easy as one, two,
three four. You've got three lifelines over under today seven
and a half. Your lifelines are Manzi Milanios sham Mognguard
(34:38):
and Chris Purfett. Now one of the questions may be
a little tricky, but I won't tell you which one.
We start out where I give Carrie a topic. He
doesn't have to give us all the correct answers, just
some of them. Goal is for a perfect score of ten,
but over under a seven and a half? You ready
to go, Kerry, Let's do it. Name one of two
NFL teams the den has lost to in an AFC
(35:02):
Championship game. So this is going to be their eleventh
appearance in an AFC Championship game. They have lost twice previously.
Speaker 5 (35:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (35:14):
I know this though, but okay, because Peyton man In lost.
Let me see, Chris, Chris.
Speaker 2 (35:22):
Denver's lost twice in an AFC Championship game. Denver's lost,
they lost, I have, they've they've in then AFC Championship.
They lost the Ravens in twenty twelve. That's that's true
because they came back the Ravens. I'll take that.
Speaker 9 (35:39):
That was the That was the brutal, like that lost
of coverage.
Speaker 5 (35:43):
Joe flaccobaum.
Speaker 7 (35:47):
Looking, I don't remember I boyfriends of Ravens, Fans Ravens
for sure.
Speaker 8 (35:54):
Are you sure.
Speaker 4 (35:57):
That was the that was going to the.
Speaker 5 (36:00):
No, I know that one for sure.
Speaker 8 (36:02):
All right, Okay, they.
Speaker 4 (36:03):
Want to go Ravens. Is that your final answer? We
need how many one? Just one?
Speaker 5 (36:07):
Just one? Yeah, yeah, one of two? Yep, yep, Ravens.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
All right.
Speaker 5 (36:11):
Is it the Baltimore Ravens.
Speaker 2 (36:14):
That was not in the AFC champions wasn't it?
Speaker 12 (36:18):
You guys?
Speaker 2 (36:19):
They playing the they lost? It was the twenty twelve
playoffs with the Ravens. They lost, and I know that happened.
Speaker 4 (36:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
They lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers with Ben Roethlisberger in
two thousand and five, and they lost to the Buffalo
Bills in nineteen ninety one.
Speaker 4 (36:35):
Thank you, all right?
Speaker 7 (36:36):
I should have known that while I was in Costa Rica.
Speaker 9 (36:39):
Baby the first this is the first time we've done
this in a while. Everything's rusty, it's all.
Speaker 5 (36:44):
Right, it's not a good song.
Speaker 8 (36:46):
My face danced on my face. I was like, I
think that's the Ravens.
Speaker 4 (36:52):
We're all right, yeah, shut up? The game.
Speaker 5 (36:56):
The game did happen? The game did happen?
Speaker 4 (36:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (36:59):
Oh yeah, I just is like, not it? That wasn't
the Yeah?
Speaker 2 (37:02):
All right, Moving on question number two. Name two of
the three schools the University of Miami has beaten in
bowl games when they've won a national championship. Okay, so
this is listen, they're not they're not. No, they're not.
It's not like it's not like they're playing Purdue. Okay,
(37:22):
it's not like sorry, like these are brand names.
Speaker 5 (37:25):
They had to beat them in the championship.
Speaker 4 (37:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (37:28):
So they claimed five national championships in those five seasons.
They have played three different opponents in bowl games in
that season. Name two of the three that ultimately allowed
them to win a national championship.
Speaker 4 (37:42):
I think Oklahoma was one, Okay, and I remember, I
think I remember that one. I'll go and how many
said three down? Yes? Three Oklahoma? I would say, is
Nebraska one of them? Is that your final answer.
Speaker 7 (38:00):
To?
Speaker 4 (38:00):
All right?
Speaker 5 (38:01):
Show me Oklahoma nineteen eighty seven?
Speaker 2 (38:04):
They beat the Sooners in the Orange Bowl, Show me
Nebraska three times. They played Nebraska times in the Orange
Bowl and then in the Rose Bowl. Remember with Jonathan
villma in there, greatest team ever two thousand and one season.
The other Alabama nineteen eighty nine. So yeah, that's who
my J. Barker and that tame Alabama could have been yeah,
around that yeah, around that time. All right, let's uh,
(38:27):
let's move on to the next question. Two out of
three points so far. All right, name three of the
four teams the Seahawks have faced in their previous conference
championship game appearances? Oh, three of the four teams the
Seahawks have faced there and they've gone to the conference
championship game.
Speaker 5 (38:50):
I would say San Franz.
Speaker 4 (38:51):
One of them. Okay, I like that's the same. Yeah,
No that I think is Green Bay one of them?
Speaker 5 (38:57):
I think I was going to say green Bay has
to be one.
Speaker 4 (39:00):
So I think San fran And all right, I need
one more guys.
Speaker 5 (39:08):
You got any think of the way back machine?
Speaker 12 (39:12):
All right?
Speaker 4 (39:15):
What it m.
Speaker 5 (39:18):
Tamp Tampa?
Speaker 2 (39:19):
No, No, you're gonna say Tampa.
Speaker 4 (39:23):
Yeah? Would it be.
Speaker 5 (39:26):
Green Bay?
Speaker 4 (39:27):
San France? I mean, would Dallas be in there just
because of going to go to Dallas? I think?
Speaker 2 (39:32):
So? Okay, all right, show me the forty nine ers
there they are, Yes, of course, the Richard Sherman. Show
me the Green Bay Packers. They come back, they had
the overtime win. And is it the Cowboys?
Speaker 4 (39:46):
It is not.
Speaker 2 (39:48):
It would have been the Carolina Panthers in two thousand
and five and in nineteen eighty three the Raiders when
they were in the AFC. That's why I said conference
championship games. I couldn't say NFC because that one was
in the AFC championship game.
Speaker 4 (40:02):
Was that the hard one?
Speaker 8 (40:03):
Was that the trick Ques?
Speaker 2 (40:05):
But you had an avenue with the Carolina Panthers and
getting the two points is good enough. We have one
question left and I just don't think we're gonna have
enough time. We will finish this. We will finish easy
as one, two, three, four. But Carrie Rhoads, just remember
you got four points so far. That's pretty good. Uh,
midway through and you have a chance to hit the
(40:26):
over now.
Speaker 5 (40:27):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (40:27):
So the Texans ended up punting it to New England.
The Patriots are going to be backed up, but maybe
most importantly, it's New England with a twelve point lead.
They'll start with the football at their own four yard
line with eleven fifty seven left to go. Romandre Stevenson
back in the game for New England despite that eye
injury coming up next to look at the Rams and Bears,
and what about those forty nine ers.
Speaker 1 (40:50):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (40:53):
So the Patriots have punted, but they did something maybe
more important. That's take time off the clock. There's now
under six minutes to go in that game, as you
heard Manci say, and the Texans have just one time out.
They'll get the football back, but they're down twelve. So
New England five and a half minutes away from advancing
to the AFC Championship game. Do you think that this
(41:14):
is the AFC Championship game with the boon Nick situation
happening in Denver and Jarrett's Didham being in or will
next week be the true AFC Championship No, next week
will be the true AFC Championship game.
Speaker 4 (41:27):
I've seen situations where teams come in shorthanded, and you know, teams,
teams take their their foot off, foot off their throats
and allow them to gain confidence in the game and
have a chance to win. I mean, Denver defense is
going to come to play and offensively, Sean Payton's going
to have the best game plan for Jared's Didham in
that game.
Speaker 5 (41:46):
Now will be enough?
Speaker 4 (41:47):
We don't know, but I know if if people are
thinking what you just asked me, Dan, that team will
lose if they come into the game with that that
that approach, I.
Speaker 2 (41:55):
Don't want to I don't want to sound like an idiot,
which I can do mo which I do most of
the time. However, is there any advantage for Denver in
that New England will not know a lot about Jared
Stidham and what Denver will do. Is there any advantage
that Denver could take from that in the game that
(42:16):
they play a week from today.
Speaker 4 (42:17):
Well, the opponent is definitely going to say that because
the unknown is always scary when it comes to football,
because you don't know what you don't have enough tendencies.
They have enough tendencies on Stidham. He has enough tape.
Now has he played a lot in Denver? No, but
they can watch him and see how he operates as
a quarterback. And then you go into that game saying,
all right, I have to be in the mind of
(42:38):
Sean Payton, right sure, because if you have enough tape,
which they do on Stidham to see how he throws
and what he likes to do, they have that. But
going to the game, it's going to be about the
smarter person between rabel or Demico Ryans and Peyton. It's
going to be that that's going to be the matchup
I'm going to be anticipating seeing next week.
Speaker 2 (42:58):
I'm curious as well, because I know something that Trump
Payton can drive you crazy with some of his calls
in some of the way that he likes to gamble.
I wonder if that will be negated because of Stidham
or will we see more will we see more creativity
in a game because you don't have Bonnicks does so
(43:21):
does Sean Payton essentially double down on his decisions because
he knows that maybe they don't have the advantage or
at least the caliber of play a quarterback that they
would with Bonex.
Speaker 4 (43:34):
Yeah, there'll be a few wrinkles for Stidham. He's different
than Knicks. He is athletic as well. He's not as
athletic as a bow Knicks, but he has that in
his game. So the offense isn't going to change as much.
But there will be wrinkles for Stidham that he can
do in a game that maybe bo Nicks can or
you know, it happens vice versa. So that's going to
be the thing. You only have a week. This isn't
something where you're, like you said, you have enough time
(43:56):
to actually plan this thing. You got to stay true
to form through the team. But there'll be a few wrinkles. CJ.
Speaker 2 (44:01):
Stroud on a third and ten was just sacked. They
covered sack and so now it'll be fourth down, they're
down twelve, they only have one time out. They're in
New England territory. You have to go for it on
fourth and eighteen. And I think that Tamiko Ryans is
gonna punt.
Speaker 4 (44:19):
Yeah, that's a bad decision. You got to go forward.
I mean, at this point, the way they just drove
the ball last possession, it's not looking good that you're
gonna get the ball back twice because you need it twice.
Speaker 2 (44:29):
Yeah, And here's the other here's the deal. The only
way that you can get into to this game is
to score and get a stop. You have to go
for it because even if it's fourth and eighteen, and
I know there aren't any fourth and eighteen play calls,
New England's just going to take a minute off the
clock no matter what, at least because you only have
one time out. Carry. But if you were to stop them,
(44:51):
New England would have then tried to maybe kick a
field goal to make it.
Speaker 5 (44:54):
It's still a two score game in that instance.
Speaker 2 (44:57):
I don't know why they punted it away, but they
they may not see the football back the way that
New England was able to take time off on the
previous possessions.
Speaker 5 (45:05):
Another reason.
Speaker 2 (45:05):
But we're talking now slim to none chances for the
Houston Texans as It sure looks like it's going to
be a New England Denver AFC championship game. He is
Carrier Roads. I'm Dan Beyer. The NFC championship game. We
know we'll be in Seattle. It'll be the Seahawks hosting
either the Bears or Rams, and kickoff for that game
coming up at the bottom of the hour in a
game that you'll see on NBC I wanted. There's not
(45:29):
a lot to take from yesterday's game in Seattle except
that the Seahawks were dominant. This is what surprises me,
and this is more of a forty nine ers conversation
than anything else. What surprised me is that the Seahawks
had back to back opponents in San Francisco. They had
them in Week eighteen, they didn't they had to buy
(45:50):
in the playoffs, and then they faced San Francisco again,
and it was more of the same, it was more dominant.
Speaker 5 (45:57):
The Niners scored nine points total in those two games.
In both way.
Speaker 2 (46:01):
I felt that the Seahawks, they had three in the
first game, they had six yesterday, So they kicked three
field goals. It's what they were able to muster. And now,
if you are San Francisco and Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch,
the nickname forty Whiners comes up from rival teams in
a very immature and childish way. Carrie Rhodes, they call
(46:22):
them the forty Whiners, just like they call the Seahawks
the Sea Chickens.
Speaker 4 (46:27):
That's what it is.
Speaker 2 (46:28):
The Rams are the lambs, the this is the school
yard nicknames that you give. But I feel that there
are a lot of excuses coming from San Francisco. They
called the forty Whiners because it rhymes with Niners. But
also I think that there are times where we look
at San Francisco and I don't know if it's their
(46:49):
fan base. I don't know if it's what it is,
but it doesn't seem like a lot of this stuff
is based in reality. Because the two things that I
hear injuries injuries. Look at all of the injuries, and
then I hear schedule, and I hear schedule on a
(47:09):
couple of reasons.
Speaker 5 (47:11):
You hate this conversation. But at the start of the year, the.
Speaker 2 (47:14):
Forty nine Ers entering the year compared to last year,
had the easiest schedule of any team in the National
Football League based on winning percentage. Now, as the season
went on and we found out, hey, guess what, Jacksonville's
pretty good, Houston's pretty good. It wasn't a weak strength
of schedule. But when you look at where the forty
(47:34):
nine Ers are, their fan base was telling us, hey,
this team with this week's schedule could do something. Well,
is it the week's schedule? Is it your players or
is it the players that are hurt? What is wrong
in San Francisco that now has allowed this team to
get blown out in back to back weeks by a
divisional opponent, with yesterday being an embarrassing fashion in front
(47:56):
of everybody.
Speaker 4 (47:57):
In the playoffs, nothing to do with the schedule, Nothing
to do with the schedule, nothing to do with I
mean the schedule in the playoffs. I'm not talking about
the regular season one. In the playoffs, you have to play.
When you play. If you're the lower seed, you're not
getting any conveniences. That's just part of the nature. This
team was ravaged by injuries, and they really are. I mean,
(48:20):
I don't think they would have won this game in
Seattle yesterday for strength. To be honest, I think Seattle
was that good yesterday. When you look at San Francisco,
they over exceeded in my opinion, this whole year. I
didn't even think that team would. I thought it's gonna
be struggling to make the playoffs. I think I said
sure for the season started, and so to see where
(48:40):
they ended up, they lost in a division round. San
Francisco standards. In their mind, I'm sure that's a failure.
But for me, I thought they actually exceeded expectations for me,
And so when you hear all the stuff coming out,
the only thing I look at with this team is
I would have loved to see them at four strength
to see what would have happened.
Speaker 2 (48:58):
But that's it. Here's my pushback against full strength. George
Kittle in the way that he plays, it is and
rupturing your achilles is a freak accident that can happen
on any play, But he also missed the first he
played in Week one. We got hurt in Week one,
whether believe a hamstring or groin injury. I don't want
(49:22):
to say that George Kittle is always hurt, but George
Kittle's body takes on a lot right, and injuries have
been a part of his career, so when it happens,
you can't be surprised by it. When Nick Bosa ends
up tearing an acl always, now that stinks, yes, but
Nick Bosas battled injuries throughout his career. I'll give you
(49:42):
Fred Warner. I will Trent Williams ends up having a
bit of a hamstring issue and isn't able to play
Week eighteen, but he was there. Trent Williams is one
of the older players in the National Football League, So like,
why are we surprised by some of this? And then
you can say, well, what about brock Purty. The thing
about perty is mac Jones came in and filled in,
(50:03):
all right, Okay, so I'm not using that as an excuse.
Then you look at your wide receiver corps. This was
a team remember a couple of years ago that almost
had too many weapons?
Speaker 4 (50:12):
Yeah, right.
Speaker 5 (50:13):
They had Deebo Samuel, they had Brandon.
Speaker 2 (50:15):
Ayuk, they had Kittle, they had Christian McCaffrey, And if
McCaffrey wasn't there, you could have Jordan Mason or Elijah
Mitchell or whoever wanted to play running back.
Speaker 4 (50:23):
Isaac Greendo was.
Speaker 2 (50:25):
With ay Ten there as well, No moster ears back.
The thing that I'm saying with the forty nine ers
is now you look at them, Ricky pearsall can never nope,
couldn't stay healthy this year. So it's a yeah, they're
always hurt. But what is like Brandon Ayuk. They had
hoped that he could return from his knee injury that
(50:46):
didn't happen. Not only did it not happen, it seems
like he's on a breaking point with a team. They
didn't want to bring Deebo back. Like so we say
all of these excuse, we say it's injuries, but when
you start to look at it, I don't know how
you can cow on any of those contributions being one
hundred percent. And the craziest thing about it is the
(51:06):
guy that was the healthiest is Christian McCaffrey, the guy
that we thought couldn't break down because of what happened
last year, what's happened previously in his career, and he
ended up being the iron man of the team. So
that's just my There's something about the roster and the
way it's constructed and the names and that you are
trying to rely on, and I'm just I don't want
(51:28):
to give them a pass on it. Yeah, it would
have been nice if all of those guys are healthy,
but they.
Speaker 4 (51:33):
Weren't, right, And that's part of football, Dan, correct, So
it's not that part is not an excuse. That's just
my own personal preference, right like I when I'm not
saying you no, no, no, no, yeah, but that would
have been a thing, right like for me, like that
would I would want to see all those guys, but
we've been accustomed to it's for the last four years.
Like when it matters, they aren't healthy, and it's not
(51:55):
even just about healthy, it's their guys. Their guys are
never available, yes, but their guys also take on a
crazy amount of workload.
Speaker 2 (52:07):
And it's we talk about the tight end position, and
not to harp on Kittle because I think George Kittle
is magnificent, but the greatest tight end that the thing
we ever could have seen in the NFL is Rob Gronkowski.
Like the size, speed, everything, Like if Gronk. If Gronk
had the let's just say, if Gronk had the health
(52:29):
of Tony Gonzalez in that career, like I think Gronk
would have been off the charts. But you want to
know one of the reasons why he's not just because
he had to block, because guys were taking out his knees,
because he was impossible to tackle, which, by the way,
then lends to your availability, like that's that is part
of it, and I just I'm not using that as
(52:51):
an excuse. It stinks to not have George Kittle yesterday.
It doesn't, but he can't be surprised at how things
worked out when that that's where you're putting your eggs
in those baskets, and George.
Speaker 4 (53:02):
Kittle would not have made that game any closer yesterday, No,
And so that part doesn't matter. I think with George,
like you said, George Kittle is he's another one of
those guys like a rob Rob Gronkowski in the meaning
of the way he plays. It's a very physical player.
He doesn't protect himself. He goes all out, and you
know we have a lot of players to do that.
But when you take as many hits as those tight
(53:24):
end sake, and at those key positions, you can't you
can't sustain it. Man.
Speaker 2 (53:29):
Yeah, it's it's just I think that the forty nine
ers are going to have to figure out, yeah, what
their identity is.
Speaker 4 (53:35):
You know.
Speaker 2 (53:36):
Listen, they had hopes for Ricky Piersall. He unfortunately had
the gunshot wound in the shooting early on in his
rookie season. This season, he hasn't stayed healthy. They tried
to improve that by taking him as a first round
pick in the draft, and it hasn't panned out. It
took Brandon Auk in the first round when he was drafted,
so they've tried to address some of these issues. It
(53:57):
just hasn't worked out for them. But I you just
don't know how close this forty nine ers team really is.
And I think that I think if their fans are
are being real with themselves, they'll look in the mirror
and say, who are we counting on? Because all of
the injured guys that you're talking about will not be
there in two years. You can't count on Trent Williams
(54:19):
being there in twenty twenty six, twenty twenty seven, like
that sort of time. Like at some point it's just
not going to happen. And so to try to figure
out what that identity is. You know, brock Party is
going to be there, so try to figure out a
way to make him better and make the team around
him better. And I think that's the way that the
forty nine ers move forward.
Speaker 4 (54:38):
Isn't that crazy though? The cupboard is pretty much bear
in two years from a team, and just think about
from the position, the skill position standpoint.
Speaker 5 (54:47):
You just said.
Speaker 4 (54:47):
It was it two years three years ago, three years
ago they had an embarrassment of riches. They can do
whatever they want, yes, and just a year and a half,
like two seasons they Juwan Jennings was their number one receiver. Yeah,
that's insane, correct, But you talked about it like the
way they play and as many games as they played
(55:08):
as well, because they have been good. They've gone deep
in each of those playoff runs usually and so just
looking at it, like in two years ago they had
the injury to Brock Party, right and he goes out,
and you know, you're like, well they're not gonna win now,
Christian McCaffrey, he'll he'll, you know, have a great season.
Of a sudden he's out Kittle. You can't. You can't
can't countle him at all in the big homes. And
(55:30):
so it's crazy. Nick Bosa is great.
Speaker 2 (55:32):
Nick Bosa miss most of his finding year at Ohio
State because of an injury and just decided I'm going
to focus on the NFL and move on. You know,
from that point you act like you're even entering the league. Yeah,
and I'm not saying it's fair, and I'm not placing
blame on these guys. It's just you can't use it
as an excuse when it's there right in front of you. Yeah,
he's carried road time, Dan Byer. The Texans season could
come to an end. They don't have any timeout. It's
(55:54):
a minute eleven. It's twenty eight to sixteen New England
on top of the Texans. Texans have the football at
their own forty seven yard line and now there is a.
Speaker 5 (56:03):
Stoppage of the clock. Maybe a timeout in New England.
Speaker 2 (56:06):
So a fourth and four if the Texans don't get it,
game over. Drake Mail come in and take some knees
and the Patriots will be onto the AFC Championship game.
Speaker 5 (56:15):
He is carrier oads.
Speaker 4 (56:16):
I'm Dan Beyer.
Speaker 2 (56:17):
The coaching carousel continues to move throughout the NFL. Giants
have found there guy. The Falcons have as well. I
thought the Dolphins may be found their guy. That isn't
a sure thing. We'll ask about that situation, plus so
much more on what happens tonight in Chicago between the
Rams and Bears. Adam Kaplan joins us next year. He's
carry I'm Dan. It's end Zone Radio on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (57:14):
That's a wrap on the AFC Divisional playoff game as
the Patriots top the Texans twenty eight to sixteen. New
England will face Denver the AFC title Game a week
from today. It'll be the first of the two championship games.
AFC goes first, then the NFC will follow. He is
Carry Rhodes. I'm Dan Byer joining us on the program now.
Is our NFL insider Adam Kaplan. You'd see him on
(57:38):
Inside the Birds podcast on Sports Grid. Hear him here
on Fox Sports Radio. I guess it's only fitting because
it's done now, meaning the Texan season, Adam. But this
was a year where they didn't have Joe Mixon from
the get go, never got him back what he marks
took on more of a role, didn't have much of
a running game. We knew they had issues with the
offensive line. Where does a hexan's team goal from a
(58:01):
season like this where they fall a couple of games
short of the Super Bowl?
Speaker 13 (58:05):
Yeah, Dan boy CJ Stroud, who had one of the
best seasons for rookie and NFL history at the quarterback position.
He's had the steady decline and now you know he
has this new offensive coordinator, Nick Kelly, whore not called
plays before, and it's not been good. I was told
by someone who would know that. It's the past concepts
(58:25):
that have not been great to help Stroud the running game.
As you said, mixing wo out not playing this season,
Tank Dell was a great story development. He didn't play
the season, a devastating knee injury that hurt them. Their
offensive line was inconsistent. Yeah, there's something wrong with their offense.
Bobby Slok, who was a darling two years ago, I'm
(58:46):
told he can not connect with c. J.
Speaker 12 (58:47):
Stroud.
Speaker 13 (58:48):
This two did not have a great relationship, so Slow
was fired after two years. It's absolutely fair Dan to
bring this up. Where are they going here? And then
Damiko Ryans has done a very good job. He's got
to take a look at this. It's ultimately his responsibility
to get this offensive on track.
Speaker 4 (59:05):
Yeah. The crazy bar about that, Adam is they have
the weapons mon Tank. If Tank can come back and
he's Tank, I was bad. Yeah, Collins and Schultz like
they have enough and then mix up.
Speaker 2 (59:14):
They drafted by the way they drafted you know, both
Higgins and uh Noel you know from Iowa State to
try to give him the weapons.
Speaker 4 (59:24):
So yeah, yeah, yeah, no, I mean yeah, that's a'm
not that's a way Yeah for sure I should be,
but let's talk about the other team. I mean, coming
into the year, I thought New England would make the playoffs.
I've said that, but to be where they are right now,
I did not think that would happen. So I mean
talk about the job that Vrabel's done there.
Speaker 13 (59:41):
Yeah, I just texted some of the Patriots congratulate him,
and I just I'm in all of this situation.
Speaker 12 (59:47):
Curry.
Speaker 13 (59:47):
When you look at their talent level and the way
that you evaluate teams is you look for blue chip players.
Speaker 12 (59:54):
They have, I would say a lot of nice players.
Good place.
Speaker 13 (59:57):
Milt Williams ninety seven, I came over from Philly. It's
going to make fifty six million in the first two
seasons with the Patriots.
Speaker 12 (01:00:04):
Nice player. He's come back well from a high ankle sprain.
Speaker 13 (01:00:06):
He's not an elite player now I would say this,
but Carlton Davis had a nice year. He got hurt today.
But the Christian Gonzalez number zero were the first round pick.
Director of a Belchick is stilly still he is a
great football player. Diggs could still play, no question about it.
But other than really, honestly, as you go through the roster,
you kind of struggle on fact. Remember one one team
(01:00:27):
sorts told me they were going to miss Mac Collins,
journeyman receiver won a Super Bowl with Eagles at seventeen.
He got he's on into reserve. Oh wow, but they
got the job done today. The thing today is just ridiculous.
I understand it was snowy, but eight turnovers total in
the game. It's droud just awful. I agree with Troy Aikman.
There had to be something wrong with his hand. I
(01:00:49):
that some throws just did not come out of his
hand correctly.
Speaker 4 (01:00:52):
Yeah, he played a terrible game today, But I kind
of want to pivot from that game, and I want
to talk about the coaching search. I know, I'm sure,
I'm probably I'm probably still IND's thundered with this one
because he dang loves the coaching stuff. But I mean,
talk about Kimi Stefanski getting that job in Atlanta. I mean,
obviously I likes I think he's a good coach in
my opinion, and him going to Atlanta with the weapons
they have, how do you see that working out in Atlanta?
Speaker 12 (01:01:14):
This is what I like about Stefanski.
Speaker 13 (01:01:16):
Okay, so while the last two seasons he only won
a total of eight games and obviously the quarterbacks you,
which is absolutely dreadful. Ye, well, it sounded like it
was great for his first four years when he was
coaching the year twice and they made the playoffs twice. Right,
So the guy knows how to win. He understands how
to manage his players pretty well. Very level headed guy.
He and met Ryan hail from the Philadelphia area. I
(01:01:38):
don't know if they knew each other before the coaching search,
which met Ryan kind of led and Matt was the
really one that hired him. The good thing is from
talking to people know Ryan he's just there to assist.
He's actually Matt Ryan actually cleared this up. He's not
going to make the personnel decisions. He's going to leave
it up to their general managers. They're going to hire.
He's going to hire the general manager. But he's going
(01:01:59):
to be an overseer everything. He's ultimately responsible for everything.
But he's not gonna make the day to day decisions
on personnel, which is good and he shouldn't because Matt
Ryansan never works at a NFL front office.
Speaker 12 (01:02:09):
But I like Stefanski here. I like this.
Speaker 13 (01:02:11):
He's going to run a West Coast offense they got.
The quarterback situation is interesting because he coached Kirk Cousins
many years ago.
Speaker 12 (01:02:18):
He was on the staff with the Vikings.
Speaker 13 (01:02:21):
Yeah, remember he was there then he was on the
NFC champions team that lost in Philly in seventeen.
Speaker 12 (01:02:28):
You know, if you if you kind of look at
some of.
Speaker 13 (01:02:30):
The things that that's happened here, Kirk would eventually come
over to the Vikings.
Speaker 12 (01:02:34):
He he was there.
Speaker 13 (01:02:36):
Kevin was when Kirk was there so for a little bit.
So it's going to be interesting to see what happens here.
I'm I'm optimistic that they'll handle it well, but it's
such a quagmire quarterback.
Speaker 12 (01:02:46):
I just don't know how they get through something like this.
Speaker 2 (01:02:48):
But realistically, he's brought there to make sure Michael Panix works.
Speaker 13 (01:02:51):
Yeah right, yeah, yeah, but it's hard and like I'm gonna,
you know, I'll eventually talk to Kevin about this, Like
what I mean, I know he needed he was looking
for one. He would he he would have had a
chance to be in oc anyway, he doesn't need the money.
Speaker 12 (01:03:04):
He had time left on his extension. He had three
years left it I believe.
Speaker 13 (01:03:07):
Oh wow, but yeah, you don't take that job if
you don't think you could win. Now, I'll tell you though,
the overall belief in that roster, other than the quarterback situation,
which is extremely shaky because if Panics now suffered four
major injuries in his last six years, oh six or
seven years as a football player, They've got a lot
of talent on that roster.
Speaker 12 (01:03:28):
U good thing. Yeah, they Stunner achieved quite frankly.
Speaker 2 (01:03:31):
Adam Kaplan our Fox Sports Radio, NFL Inside are joining us.
I thought Jeff Halfley to Miami was a done deal,
but then he's still going to interview. Yeah, he's going
to interview with the Titans, one of their finalists. What's
going on with Miami and what about those Titans.
Speaker 13 (01:03:45):
I would be shocked if he got the Titans job
based on you know what I know. I know he's
getting a second interview. Matt Naggy gets his interview tomorrow.
I'm told Matt Naggi is still the favorite. Robert Sala
I know they're going to talk to him.
Speaker 12 (01:04:00):
Not he's free.
Speaker 13 (01:04:03):
If you're a defensive minded coach, you better have a
great staff, particularly developed the cam Ward because Matt Naggy.
Speaker 12 (01:04:12):
A lot of people don't really even realize this.
Speaker 13 (01:04:14):
Matthew Patrick Mahomes' best year with twenty twenty two.
Speaker 12 (01:04:19):
Naggi was his quarterbacks coach.
Speaker 13 (01:04:20):
Now, I understand the offense and can't see he's regrets,
but Naggie didn't call the plays. I'm not exolving him
after that great first season. His offense was awful after
he left, you know, after that first great year in
Chicago when they and then they made the playoffs with Trubisky,
it really cratered.
Speaker 12 (01:04:39):
So I'm a little bit.
Speaker 4 (01:04:41):
I get it.
Speaker 13 (01:04:41):
Mike Bergonzi and Matt Naggie are friends because they worked
and can't see together. I get that, but it's just
I know a lot of the Titan fans are not
exactly happy if Naggie gets the job.
Speaker 12 (01:04:52):
But we'll see what happens.
Speaker 4 (01:04:54):
Well, I mean the Harriball situation with the Giants, there
was rumors out that, you know, he was considering the
Tennessee job as well.
Speaker 5 (01:05:01):
He was kind of, I guess, weighing who were.
Speaker 4 (01:05:04):
The two who was the better prospect between Jackson, Darton
and cam Ward. I think he was trying to figure
out that quarterback situation, which has been reported.
Speaker 5 (01:05:13):
I don't know how how what's that wold?
Speaker 13 (01:05:17):
The better situation would have been the Giants in terms
of overall roster were constructure right now. I mean, honestly,
I didn't see how he could not take the Giants
job over Tennessee. If you look at I'm going to
look at my list here of how I have them ranked.
This is just conversations with personal people around the league.
(01:05:38):
I had Baltimore one, Giants one A when you look
at the jobs.
Speaker 12 (01:05:42):
That are out there, yep.
Speaker 13 (01:05:43):
And then after that, I kind of like Tennessee Ted
Jeffrey Simmons was unbelievable this season.
Speaker 12 (01:05:50):
There's some pieces there.
Speaker 13 (01:05:51):
There's some pieces with Tennessee Cleveland as a much better
defensive roster, but they don't have a quarterback. Pittsburgh is
no quarterback. Yeah, one good receiver. Offensive line that's shaky,
the defense is almost elite.
Speaker 12 (01:06:03):
Miami's the bad. That's just a not a good job, right.
Speaker 13 (01:06:06):
Arizona bad job, though there's some really interesting pieces on defense.
Excuse me, and the Raiders is Ozona an island. They're
only bad reades Islands. It's a terrible job.
Speaker 2 (01:06:15):
Well, I said that, no one's going to take the
Arizona job until June when you realize that you got
to face the Rams Seahawks and forty nine.
Speaker 13 (01:06:21):
Oh yeah, that's a fair point, man. But you know what,
there are so many defensive pieces. They had a terrible
they had They're a top three injury team this past season, Dan,
but there are a lot of talent defense Offensively, it's
just tough. When you talk to coaches, they look at quarterback,
they look at front office.
Speaker 12 (01:06:39):
Ownership cap is way down the list.
Speaker 13 (01:06:42):
It's they don't really care generally too much about it
unless it's so bad they can't sign free agents. But
it's quarterback is the number one criteria when you're putting together,
whether you're like a team or not.
Speaker 2 (01:06:51):
Well, I will say this because it does transition to
a point.
Speaker 4 (01:06:55):
Carrie and I were just talking.
Speaker 2 (01:06:56):
About, I I don't know where the forty nine are
going in the next four or five years.
Speaker 5 (01:07:03):
But I don't Cary.
Speaker 2 (01:07:04):
I'm just I'm sick of the injury talk because the
guys that are injured that but they get injured. So,
if you know, we kind of did a crystal ball
on what's going on with Houston? What about the forty
nine ers? After the demoralizing loss, What where does this
team take any any different sort of form? How do
they look getting into twenty twenty.
Speaker 13 (01:07:24):
Well, they have to take but I'm going to just
talk about injuries for a second here with the nine ten,
we'll I'll go into kind of what they have to do.
They have to look at how they train people and
how they how they keep players healthy. I remember talking
the Chargers about this situation. You remember they had like
year after ear they kept having injury problems, and they
looked how they trained, They changed their practice schedule, they
changed a lot.
Speaker 12 (01:07:43):
This continues to this is the second.
Speaker 1 (01:07:45):
Year in a row.
Speaker 13 (01:07:45):
It's even worse this season their injury situation. But you
know where do they go from here? Brought party to
their quarterback right now. They have to make a decision
on how much longer they think George Kittle can play.
They have to eventually look at Christian McCaffrey, who it
was very healthy this season. Shockingly, you guys know his
injury history twenty nine years old. They need to get
(01:08:06):
a Brian Robinson. His contract's going to expire, so they
have to take a look at what how they're going
to back them up. And defensively, it's just they ran
out of pass rushers. That'll be like when we talk,
we'll talk to you after you down the line here.
But the number one issue for them is pass rush.
They have to get a better pass rush linebacker. Lost
too many guys corner. They're okay, like they Yeah, John
(01:08:29):
Lynch and his personal people, they have to do a
better job in terms of depth. But it's really hard
when you continue to lose players. And you know, I'll
give you another thing now. Thankfully mac Jones is under
contract for one more year. That was smart to sign
him to a two year deal. But mac Jones, I'm
telling you they're gonna get They're gonna get calls in
mac Jones. I wouldn't trade them unless they get like
a second round pick for him. With Brock Perdy's injury history,
(01:08:50):
in his size, he's a smaller guy, Nan, I wouldn't
trade him unless I got a really good draft compensation.
Speaker 5 (01:08:55):
Adam.
Speaker 4 (01:08:55):
The crazy part is I think they can get a
second round for Maxix Good.
Speaker 13 (01:08:59):
He had a told by very higher ranking personal executive
for another team could not believe how great mac Jones's
tape was, Like shocked.
Speaker 12 (01:09:07):
He was phenomenal when he filled in for Party.
Speaker 2 (01:09:09):
Yeah, find someone that loves that you love, like Adam
Kaplan loves backup quarterback.
Speaker 4 (01:09:15):
I love him. You got to have them.
Speaker 2 (01:09:20):
Yeah, and so you expect Jared Stidham to take this.
I just by the way, I just got an email
been online saying the look ahead line for a Denver
New England AFC Championship game with Bo Nicks was Denver
minus one. Now it's New England minus four.
Speaker 12 (01:09:40):
It's so fun. I had no I was going to
say mine line. I put a lot. Sometimes I put
my own line. I would have said four New England.
Speaker 4 (01:09:46):
Yep.
Speaker 13 (01:09:47):
Look, they it's just they turned the ball over a
little bit too much. I know the weather had something to.
Speaker 4 (01:09:51):
Do with it.
Speaker 13 (01:09:51):
You know, we'll look ahead as the week progressive to
what the weather is going to be next Sunday in Denver.
But yeah, I'm I'm happy for the Patriots because I think,
if they're being honest, they weren't expecting to be this
far ahead of the game. They're at least a year
or two in a schedule. And I was telling that,
you know, I do radio and Jacksville every once in
a while. This is before they lost to the Bills.
(01:10:13):
Just enjoy it while you have it when it's support,
when it comes out of nowhere like twenty seventeen under
Doug Barron.
Speaker 12 (01:10:18):
That totallykeep and they really got cheated. They should have
been the Super Bowl.
Speaker 13 (01:10:21):
Yeah, honestly, honestly, so you never know.
Speaker 12 (01:10:25):
Just enjoy it, folks when you have it.
Speaker 2 (01:10:26):
Yeah, absolutely great advice, Adam. We appreciate the time, guys.
We'll talk to you cha out of the weekend.
Speaker 12 (01:10:32):
Sounds good to see you, all.
Speaker 5 (01:10:33):
Right, he's carry roads.
Speaker 4 (01:10:34):
I'm Dan Beyer.
Speaker 5 (01:10:35):
Find Adam on exit Kapitlin NFL.
Speaker 2 (01:10:37):
Let's go to the news desk, Moncey Belanios giving us
the latest of what's happening. What's going on, Manzi?
Speaker 7 (01:10:42):
You guys know that trend on social media that has
been going on this week of like everyone's going back
to twenty sixteen.
Speaker 8 (01:10:49):
Yes, well the AFC is doing.
Speaker 7 (01:10:50):
That well, yes, yes, So the NFL decided to join
in on the fun as the New England Patriots are
set to take on the Broncos in the AC Championship
next Sunday at three Eastern. Because the Patriots came ready
to play today at home against the Texans in the
AFC Divisional Round, coming out on top twenty eight to sixteen, and.
Speaker 8 (01:11:10):
It was all of the Patriots from top to bottom.
Speaker 7 (01:11:12):
Drake May He threw fo one hundred and seventy nine
yards three touchdowns, He had one interception, but it was
the Patriots defense who really rattled.
Speaker 8 (01:11:20):
CJ. Stroud.
Speaker 7 (01:11:21):
He had four interceptions in the first half. Did throw
for two hundred and twelve yards and a touchdown, but
it just was not enough. Texans lose. New England advances again.
It's like twenty sixteen all over again. I trend continued.
Speaker 2 (01:11:35):
I as a Seahawks fan, I'm sure people are like, oh,
the Seahawks again. But at least for them, it's been
like eleven years.
Speaker 4 (01:11:41):
Yeap has been that.
Speaker 5 (01:11:42):
It has been Super Bowl forty nine.
Speaker 8 (01:11:44):
And this one is Super Bowl fifty.
Speaker 7 (01:11:47):
This is oh like the one for the one that's matters.
This one is you know, only ten years ago.
Speaker 2 (01:11:54):
The Rocos had such a drought like they until they
made the playoffs last year. The last time they had
made it was when they won the Super Bowl against Yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:12:02):
Yeah, oh, I love that. I love that. It's just
the trend continues.
Speaker 7 (01:12:06):
Now, all right, other NFL news, even though I know
you guys just literally broke things down with Adam Kaplan.
But in case you missed it, yeah, today the Titans
announced that they have their final three meeting in person
tomorrow aich Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Naggie, forty nine Ers
defensive corner Robert Sala, and Packer's defensive coordinator Jeff Halfley.
But Robert Sala did have a virtual interview today with
the Ravens. The Ravens announced it. They also interviewed Joe
(01:12:28):
Brady today virtually Bill's offensive coordinator. The Ravens announced it
as well. Former Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel is scheduled to
interview in person Wednesday for the Browns head coaching job,
but he's also supposed to interview for the Raiders on Monday,
but he's gonna be in Miami and for the Chargers
on Tuesday for the offensive coordinator position, which please come.
Speaker 4 (01:12:47):
On down to the Chargers.
Speaker 8 (01:12:49):
That would be so great.
Speaker 7 (01:12:50):
And everyone stopped talking to Jesse Minter, thank you so much.
In NBA news, Clipper star Kawhi Leonard he actually was
sent home from the road trip because Chris Hayne reported
that he has left knee irritation, so he left the
road trip just to get some treatment. He's going to
be evaluated once the team returns Wednesday. The Clippers do
take on the Wizards on Monday and Chicago on Tuesday.
(01:13:11):
When it comes to the NHL, there's a game going
on right now the Senators and the Red Wings. They
are tied at two halfway through the second period. And lastly,
here a little baseball news for you. Brave shortstop Hassan
Kim who resigned last month. Apparently he sustained a hand
injury in Korea. Underwent surgery. He's basically out four to
five months, so that sucks back to you, guys.
Speaker 2 (01:13:31):
Kawhi Leonard light knee irritation out thirty eight months.
Speaker 14 (01:13:38):
Don't say that it's just for this exactly we're doing.
I'm a fun guy, fun guy.
Speaker 2 (01:13:49):
Manzi's going to have, according to Manzi for us. In
just a second, they're about to kick off between the
Bears and Rams in Chicago.
Speaker 4 (01:13:56):
Hot second.
Speaker 8 (01:13:57):
Forgot that that game was about to start. Hot second forgot.
Speaker 2 (01:14:02):
I would say it happens, but it shouldn't, right right,
that's all right. I just yelled at the crew, I said, hey,
can we get this Bears game on? We have the
same thing about we had I think we had ESPN eight.
You know the oatso was on. Stuff was going on.
It happens. He is carry Roads on Dan Byer. Monzi's
got according to Manci next year on end Zone Radio
(01:14:24):
on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 6 (01:14:25):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live back to Dan Byer and Carry Rhoads.
Speaker 2 (01:14:40):
Carry Rhodes is not happy with one Ben Johnson fourth
and three for the Bears. Caleb Williams, Yeah, they go
for it, throws an interception, so the Rams end up
taking over at their own fifteen yard line, but they
were in field goal range. Carry Rhoads after a five
play forty two yard drive to them down to the
(01:15:01):
rams twenty one yard line. Instead of kicking a thirty
eight thirty nine yard field goal attempt, they went for
it on fourth and two and now turn the ball
over and it's scoreless. As the Rams will get their
first possession of this game.
Speaker 5 (01:15:12):
And they did this last week. This is their identity.
Speaker 4 (01:15:14):
They go forward a lot, obviously with Ben Johnson, but
again this isn't Green Bay, and the Rams are going
to score a lot of points, and they're going to
continue to score points. They don't they don't take their
foot off the guys. So you got to you gotta
take points, and especially to start a game it's it's cold.
You don't know how the team's gonna come out and respond.
You get a good drive and get no points out
of it is just a waste.
Speaker 2 (01:15:35):
The Bears field usually looks like a hayfield like it
used to back in the day, and we seem like
such a slow track. Today it looks like an ice
rink and they're gonna be But the snow flurries are
flying on the shores of Lake Michigan and Killer Williams
on that fourth down pass ended up hitting hands with
the Rams defender and Williams was seen holding onto his hand.
(01:15:57):
We'll see if it has any effect throughout this game.
These carry roads. I'm Dan Bayer. It is end Zone Radio.
Manci Bolanios is at the news desk and it's time
for her to shine. It's back first time in twenty
twenty six. I felt really bad. I said to Manzi,
I said, you know what we didn't do last week
something was missing, said we missed according to Manci, and
her response was, oh, I totally forgot too.
Speaker 4 (01:16:20):
Yeah, I was, I'm still.
Speaker 7 (01:16:21):
An NFL season, Like, I'm still you know what I mean,
because this is typically.
Speaker 8 (01:16:24):
Off season that we do this. So I was like
I was still in an NFL mode. I didn't even
it didn't even cross my mind.
Speaker 4 (01:16:31):
Player sp a team player back with a vengeance.
Speaker 15 (01:16:33):
All right, right, let's do it, all right, I'm up first, right, Yes, okay,
let's hear it. According to Monsei, stop saying it's championship
or bust.
Speaker 7 (01:16:43):
Yeah, if I hear this one more time. Over the years,
I think we heard it less. Now I feel like
I hear it in every sport and it's actually not.
It's really not. If it was championship or bus, then
what's the point of watching sports? Why am I watching
all of these games and it's literally just championship or
It annoys me to hear that.
Speaker 8 (01:17:01):
Not only does it make sports.
Speaker 7 (01:17:03):
And competitions seem like it's not important for week one,
week seven.
Speaker 8 (01:17:06):
Whatever game. I hate that.
Speaker 7 (01:17:08):
It's your job as an athlete to take every single
game seriously. And I look at you carry because you
know what, this is like right, Imagine if it was
literally championship or bus, how many games would you not
have played if it was championship or bus you thought
you could not win, if there was no point in
doing this for a championship. So stop saying that, because
there's it's actually not true, and you're taking away from
(01:17:29):
sports and competition every time you say it's either this
or that, and because it's not the case, not the
case at all, And I feel like I heard it
too much.
Speaker 4 (01:17:37):
This year's absolutely right.
Speaker 5 (01:17:39):
Gianna's had that point a couple of years ago. You
said when they.
Speaker 2 (01:17:41):
Asked them, like they thought this season was a failure
because they didn't win, and he said no, like, I
don't look at it as a failure.
Speaker 4 (01:17:49):
According to months, according to Dylan Brookly is not who
we thought.
Speaker 7 (01:17:56):
Oh yes, maybe it's I'm the one who needs to
say to Dylan Brooks, I am so I used to
say he was cut from the same cloth as a
Draymond Green, and I could not have been more wrong.
Dylan Brooks is the cultural changer that you need. It
doesn't matter what team he is playing on. He is
giving it all, putting in the effort. Draymond Green over
here acting a fool, arguing with his coach, getting ejected,
(01:18:19):
pulling Carl Anthony's Town's ankle as he's trying to drive.
Speaker 8 (01:18:22):
And what is Dylan Brooks over here doing.
Speaker 7 (01:18:24):
Yeah, he might be staring at you in the camera
as you're recording his video. He's also playing rock paper
scissors with the fans before a game and giving shoes
to the fans. Like my opinion of Dylan Brooks over
the years, I don't know if he's just grown up,
but it's like he's changed my opinion, and he has
nothing like Draymond Green. And I apologize forever saying you
were cut from the same cloth or that, you know,
the tree doesn't fall far from the apple between those
(01:18:45):
two because they are not the same at all. And
the Sons, who I dismissed in the offseason, you know,
I was like, they're not gonna be good.
Speaker 8 (01:18:52):
They got rid of everybody, and they.
Speaker 7 (01:18:53):
Extended Devin Booker just because they're like, we can't let
you go. But I did not expect the Sons to
be anywhere near as good as they are, and I
feel like the reason they're this good has to do
with Dylan.
Speaker 5 (01:19:03):
Brooks and he's giving you twenty points this year.
Speaker 7 (01:19:06):
I know he's averaging twenty Like the Sons would not
succeed without him. And it's not just like you said,
not just defense on the offense. He's played thirty two
out of thirty six games. He started all the games.
He is everything you'd want in a team to change
the culture.
Speaker 8 (01:19:20):
He's the guy.
Speaker 5 (01:19:21):
I agree.
Speaker 2 (01:19:21):
I thought it's funny with Brooks because at Oregon he
was the guy. Yes, like he was, yes, so, but
you can't be the guy and do some of the
things that he did. So then when he was maybe
the number two or number three or number four, you
could take on that role. And now he's still not
the number one because a booker, but has the best
of both.
Speaker 4 (01:19:37):
Worlds starring in your role.
Speaker 11 (01:19:39):
According to me, yes, according to Monse, hobbies are supposed
to be fun.
Speaker 8 (01:19:44):
Yeah, what is going on?
Speaker 7 (01:19:46):
So, like my brother collects sports cards, and you know,
like the boyfriend likes to buy cards. But now because
of stupid Pokemon and these people, like people are fighting
on the streets and in line at Costco and Target
and Walmart to try and get these cards. But then
they're not even opening them.
Speaker 4 (01:20:02):
They're just holding on to.
Speaker 7 (01:20:03):
Them and being like, oh, I'm gonna hold this for
a year, two years, and then I'm gonna sell it
for profit. So people are over here like, oh I
wish I could find this, you know, Paul skiings card.
But people are buying these cards and just sitting on them,
and nothing upsets me more than when people.
Speaker 8 (01:20:19):
Buy Jordan's and don't wear them.
Speaker 7 (01:20:20):
Then you buying these cards, Carrie, wear your shoes.
Speaker 8 (01:20:23):
Why are you buying them? Why are you buying them?
Why are you buying these cards?
Speaker 7 (01:20:27):
If you don't want to look for cards and open
them and have the exclamming, you just want to have
boxes in your in your house.
Speaker 8 (01:20:32):
Yeah, you're stop ruining the hobby.
Speaker 4 (01:20:34):
You don't wear your Jordan's, not.
Speaker 8 (01:20:37):
Carry Why do you buy shoes if you're not gonna
wear them?
Speaker 5 (01:20:39):
I got so many two months. Yea, that's bad, That
is bad. Yeah, I agree with you.
Speaker 8 (01:20:44):
No, Yes, wear your damn shoes.
Speaker 2 (01:20:46):
If you take a small scale into Target, you're a
loser because people.
Speaker 4 (01:20:51):
Will now weigh those cards.
Speaker 2 (01:20:52):
Yes, because because there's certain inserts and they feel that
if one weighs a little bit more or less, it
may have a special a special.
Speaker 15 (01:21:01):
Card in the box, ruining the hobby. I agree, and
that's according to months.
Speaker 8 (01:21:07):
And it wasn't an interception.
Speaker 2 (01:21:10):
Get her up at Manzi Blanos or as someone called
her on Twitter, baliness Balani.
Speaker 4 (01:21:15):
That was different.
Speaker 2 (01:21:17):
Hey, that happens. He's carry roads. I'm Dan Byer. Thanks
to Shay and Mary Mack. Coming up next. The Rams
are on the move and the Patriots are on their
way to the AFC Championship. It's all coming up on Fox.
Speaker 1 (01:21:29):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:21:32):
Well, if you thought the Rams were going to be
hampered by the cold weather in Chicago, think again. You
heard Monty say La on top of the Bears seven
to nothing. Bears had possession first drove down on a
fourth and two at the twenty one yard line of La.
They decided to go for it. Caleb Williams throw an interception,
so the Bears excuse me, the Rams and then took
(01:21:54):
over possession. Fourteen plays eighty five yards Kirraen Williams that
touched on run Matthew Stafford of ten on that drive
for sixty seven yards. As LA is up midway through
the first quarter seven to nothing on the Bears.
Speaker 4 (01:22:06):
Great start, the Rams get a defensive interception where the Bears,
I thoughts, would have taken points, but they went four
and foot down interception, go right back down the field,
methodically drove the ball down. Cole. Whether people thought it
was going to be an issue, we talked about it
in the start of the broadcast. If it's not wet
(01:22:27):
and it's not snowing, they're going to be fine. And
they come out and drive the ball down and get seven.
Speaker 2 (01:22:30):
And in the break you said to me seven to
three would have looked a lot better. Yes, And I
look at it and say, with how the Rams scored
with ease, I think that's why Ben Johnson went for it, Yes, right, yes,
knowing that field goals aren't going to win the game.
And I think that that he knows that, and now
there's a more pressure on the Bears. But either way
(01:22:52):
they would be down in this possession, and I think
that's why they ended up going for it.
Speaker 5 (01:22:57):
But then, yes, you're you're right.
Speaker 4 (01:22:59):
But the energy in the game three points versus the interception,
like going forward, I understand what you're saying, but like
when you go forward and you fail and you also
throw an interception, that energy changes the momentum change is
really and then you see the Rams get the ball
right away and go down to score a touchdown. So
(01:23:21):
there's validity in your point, but that energy in game
is different.
Speaker 3 (01:23:25):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:23:25):
I love these moments because I call these moments of truth.
Speaker 4 (01:23:29):
And this is where I.
Speaker 2 (01:23:31):
Can I can I can tell you the truth is
again the fact that the Rams picked off the pass
and then they have started thrown fifteen as opposed to
just knocking down the pass and being at they gave
up six yards of field position Carry Rhoades Carry says, hey,
if you're a dB, doesn't matter if it's fourth and
a mile, you got to catch.
Speaker 5 (01:23:52):
You're picking it off and and.
Speaker 2 (01:23:55):
The Williams, whether it was an interception or incompletion, the
Bears weren't going to score, but the Rams just had
nothing stopping them on their way. And now it's up
to the Bears offense to try to answer. I guess that,
you know, in one of the themes that we've seen
in these in these divisional games so far, San Francisco just,
you know, really had an awful time. But we've seen
(01:24:16):
two other games where possession of the football for certain
teams not as important, and it ended up costing them
Texas turning the ball over five times, or the Texans
and the Buffalo Bills turning the ball over five times.
The Rams aren't going to turn the ball over five times.
So if you're the Bears, you've got to make the
most of your opportunity because I just don't see la Matthew.
(01:24:39):
I get it, Matthew Stafford's turned the ball over at times.
Did it last week against Carolina? I just don't think
it happens today. I don't think that the Bears defense
provides that sort of resistance for him to turn it over.
So if you're Chicago, you got to You don't have
to play perfect football. But right now they're not on
pace after not cashing in on that first round.
Speaker 4 (01:24:58):
And then the Rams can win in a multitude of ways.
They can They can win in a shootout, obviously, but
as they just show show there, they can drive down
the field methodically. And so when you go when you
can be beaten both ways, it's hard. It's hard to
defend because the Rams can be patient and Sam McVay
sometimes will you know, he's a he's such a good coach,
(01:25:21):
but also yeah, such a good feel in game where
all right, we want to take our time, we want
to execute and drive the ball downfield.
Speaker 5 (01:25:28):
We need a big play, let's try that.
Speaker 4 (01:25:29):
But the Rams are going to do what they need
to do to win this game, and Chicago just doesn't
have enough resistance in my opinion.
Speaker 2 (01:25:35):
I also find it interesting that the Rams are leading
early because isn't this the story with the Bears? Yes, yeah, right, yes,
you know, and it would it was curious to see
on how the game could have changed if the Bears
put points up early, or if they were able to
get in the end zone on that first drive. But
now it's this situation that the Bears have been before.
(01:25:55):
They've been here so seven nothing but the caliber of
the caliber of opponents changes. When you're talking about the Rams.
Speaker 5 (01:26:02):
Yeah, they're not all created equal.
Speaker 4 (01:26:03):
And I think, yeah, with the Bears, you're right, they're
right where they're where they need to be in previous
previous games this year. But the Planet team that has
experience in this spot, a team that you know is
trying to get back to the mountaintop, and you can't
fall behind big time to the Rams here.
Speaker 5 (01:26:18):
And I know the weather report has been crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:26:21):
Manzi's talked about it throughout this week and the temperatures
in Chicago. But again from someone who's been in's from
that area of the country. Oh, the thing that I
just want to point out is, yeah, the Bears understand
like what cold is because when they have to walk outside,
maybe go into the facilities, they're walking in and it's cold,
(01:26:43):
you're walking into the grocery store, it's cold, but you're
not spending four hours outside, you know, in eight degree
weather like very rarely, a very very small portion of
the population is having extended hours outside in this cold weather.
And my point with that is the Rams are going
(01:27:03):
to be affected. Sure it's cold, but they got there
last night. They'll deal with it. They have a pregame
warm up. Yeah, it's not a huge advantage, if any
advantage for the Bears. They have to deal with the
same exact conditions of it being cold, of the football
being you know, maybe slick, yeah, being slick and firm
like a rock. However, however it is, they're also going
(01:27:24):
to have to deal with these sorts of things on.
Speaker 4 (01:27:26):
And that's what and that's what the point I was saying.
I'm with you as well. Dan, it's cold is cold,
and they're all going to be cold. If it's not
wet and it's not slick, both teams will be fine
and we're we can see it.
Speaker 5 (01:27:37):
I mean, both teams will move the ball.
Speaker 4 (01:27:38):
Well, Chicago passed up the points and didn't didn't convert
on the fourth down, but I mean they'll they'll, they'll
be fine.
Speaker 5 (01:27:44):
This this field looks like it's getting a.
Speaker 4 (01:27:46):
Little bit more snowing and as we go, so we'll
see how this game progresses. But right now, teams could
move the ball fine.
Speaker 2 (01:27:52):
Kayleb Williams with a chunk play with a with a
coast and Loveland, so the Bears are on the move again.
Loveland gets him down to about the twenty five yard line,
make it the twenty four yard line, so it'll be
a first and ten for Chicago two forty in counting
to go as the Rams are up seven to nothing
in that divisional playoff game. Earlier today, the Patriots stopped
(01:28:12):
the Texans twenty eight to sixteen, so it sets up
the AFC Championship game. Klamanung guy with a big run
inside the ten. That's what you love physical.
Speaker 5 (01:28:20):
Right, Yes, he's running that thing down here.
Speaker 4 (01:28:23):
Now, Dan, I'm gonna have to think about it, I
might have to switch to the Bears running back.
Speaker 5 (01:28:26):
Let's se let's see how well you know.
Speaker 2 (01:28:27):
I don't want to too Tony Horns because nothing has happened.
But I did say in this game that I thought
the Bears running game, if there was anything that could
be in advantage compared to what the Rams provide, I
thought maybe it would be the Bears being able to
run the ball, especially with a guy like Mnung. Guy
is such a physical runner.
Speaker 5 (01:28:45):
Yeah, that was That was nice.
Speaker 2 (01:28:46):
So they're set up first and ten or excuse to
be first in goal at the nine yard line, down
seven to nothing. In that contest, the Patriots end up
going and beating the Texans today twenty eight to sixteen.
So they'll be in Denver for the AFC Championship game.
So now you're New England. Do you look at New
England as the four point favorite of being I don't
(01:29:08):
want to say a lock, but how easy of a
task will it be for New England to go to
Denver and win without Bo Nicks on Sunday?
Speaker 5 (01:29:17):
It won't be easy, Dan. I again, this team is
new to this spot.
Speaker 4 (01:29:22):
Obviously, Vrabel has all kinds of history and success in
the playoffs, and it's fine to have that as you're
a leader. A guy that's been there knows how to
check the tenor of the guys. Because going into an
AFC Championship game, which I have been in before, both
teams have gotten there differently, right Denver, I mean New
(01:29:44):
England has been a success story, a team that's overachieved. Denver.
People were picking them and go to the Super Bowl
in the offseason. You were one of them. So I
think people are expecting them to be in this spot.
And now you're sayings your quarterback who obviously that's going
to be a big blow, but I don't know how
(01:30:06):
much he would have been comfortable in that spot.
Speaker 5 (01:30:09):
Either, and so sure you know there's there's.
Speaker 4 (01:30:12):
An unknown with him even being in that spot. So
now they're still unknown. They have a defense that's going
to go out there and keep them in any game
they play in. It's going to come down to the
turn over battle, which it always does. But Drake may
as well, he has no experience there. So we're going
to find out. This game is going to be close,
and I really think that Denver, still being at home,
has a chance to win this game. I do too.
Speaker 2 (01:30:32):
Like it's not that Denver doesn't have its warts. I
think we look at New England and think that they
don't have warts. Well they do, yes, And I think
that you're right about that, we just maybe haven't seen them.
I think that sometimes maybe we pump for as good
as Drake may has been, maybe we pump them up.
Speaker 5 (01:30:48):
A little bit more.
Speaker 2 (01:30:49):
The running game with Romandre Stevenson has been more of
a factor than Treveon Henderson. I mean, Kaishon Booty had
a great game today, but he hasn't been there weekend
and week out. Maybe that's part of their their strength.
But I agree with with that as we like assess
neng that that they aren't as perfect and if that
Denver defense, which may be the best unit on the field,
(01:31:13):
and that's a lot of times and when you're looking
at games, Ken Denver's defense win this for them on
Sunday and I think that they can.
Speaker 5 (01:31:21):
Yes, And Dan, what do what does bow Knicks do great?
Speaker 4 (01:31:25):
Right now? Right? Well they can't move?
Speaker 2 (01:31:31):
Yes, but yes, but I think yes, his mobility right
thinking what he does you know on the run or
on the move with the football.
Speaker 4 (01:31:39):
And I think Jared still would be fine in the
pocket like I think, he will be able to distribute
the ball at a at a good rate and if
he doesn't turn the ball over, they will have a
chance to win. It's just it's that simple. It's not
Sean Payton's not going to have a backup quarterback that
can't operate his offense. So I know that going into
the game he will be able to oper Will he
(01:32:00):
be able to make the off schedule plays like Nicks.
Speaker 5 (01:32:03):
That's the part that we don't know yet.
Speaker 2 (01:32:05):
It was a year year and a half ago going
into training camp, we weren't sure what was going to
happen with Bo Nix and being the rookie quarterback. He
ends up beating out Zach Wilson and Jared Stidham for
the job, but Stidham was thought to be the front
runner and they gave it to Bo Nicks and bow
Nicks took it and ran with it. The rest is history.
But there had to be some level of confidence in
(01:32:26):
Jared Stidham for the Broncos to consider him for that
spot at that time. Yes, I just look at I
look at this and the reason I don't like the
Nick Foles Carson Wentz thing because I don't think it's
as daunting for the Broncos as it was for Philadelphia
(01:32:46):
to navigate a whole playoff bracket and an end of
a regular season. What they were able to do in
just winning yesterday with bow knicks for most of that
game is a third of the work that they have
to do to win a Super Bowl. So now you
just have to figure out a way to win two games, right, Like,
That's what it is. It's not how do we keep
(01:33:08):
this going, how do we protect you? How do we
get this running game going? So we're set up for whatever.
None of that matters. It's the sixty minutes this Sunday,
and if they're fortunate enough to win that game, it's
the sixty minutes the next two weeks later in Super
Bowl sixty. And I actually think that portion of it
because nothing else does matter. There's not a guess what
(01:33:30):
Bonix is out with an injured ankle, He's going to
be back in six weeks. Well what happens if Jared
Stinham is great at quarterback? Well, Bonux, None of that matters,
all the other injury stuff. The matter is what matters
now is winning, And I think that really winning in
those sixty minutes. I think that really helps Denver find
the recipe, find the code, find the way to win
(01:33:51):
this game, the way that you think you need to
win this game, and go out and execute it in
front of your own fans. By the way, them having
home field advantage huge, huge day, absolutely for it. So
for you know when we're talking about teams in jockeying
for position, and you know how much it what meant
for Seattle.
Speaker 4 (01:34:06):
We saw that last night.
Speaker 2 (01:34:07):
If the Seahawks don't win that Week eighteen game, it's
likely the flip situation. You know, the forty nine ers
are our home last night and maybe have that home
field advantage. But a really really big deal. But it's
just sorting out that sixty minutes to make it work.
Speaker 4 (01:34:19):
Dan, don't overthink it. Yeah right, that's it. Like you
have a guy that you know can run your offense.
I know that I'm one hundred percent certain of that
and can make all the throws that bow Knicks can't
make in the pocket. The only difference is bo Nicks
on the run and off schedule. So I mean, again,
if they don't turn the ball over, and I think
also it actually helps Sean Payton to have less time because.
Speaker 2 (01:34:43):
Oh, he secretly loves this.
Speaker 4 (01:34:44):
By the way, exactly fourth.
Speaker 2 (01:34:46):
And goal for the Bears. They're at the end of
the first quarter. Now in the second quarter, Bears are
going for it at their own two and a half
yard line. So after the quarter break they think about it,
and it's a touchdown pass to DJ. More So, Bears
don't get the first fourth down conversion. Now they do
this one. I think makes sense as well. You had
(01:35:08):
him backed up, touchdown, Bears extra point ties it up.
Speaker 5 (01:35:11):
They took the points on the first drive, Dan, they'd
be up ten seven.
Speaker 2 (01:35:14):
Guys, he has character owns on Dan Byer to finish
the Sean Payton point. Yeah, there is a little part
of him that is loving this. Yes, I can win
win any quarterback. Yes, watch this Sean Payton legacy run right.
Speaker 4 (01:35:31):
That's and he's going to let us know about it too,
Dan if he gets done.
Speaker 2 (01:35:35):
And for a guy that's come up close, I mean,
they won a super Bowl, the Super Bowl forty four,
but to try to get that second one, to have
this be the circumstance, there is a part I guarantee
that he relish, that he savors, and he's looking at
at and saying, all right, this is this is what
this is all about. How can I get my backup
(01:35:55):
quarterback ready in a week to send us to a
super Bowl?
Speaker 4 (01:35:58):
And he has a fail safe because if he doesn't,
when are they going to say he wasn't right?
Speaker 13 (01:36:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:36:03):
I mean yes, So can't lose. Cannot lose.
Speaker 2 (01:36:07):
The same canopy said for Arizona State basketball as they're
down fifty one to twenty nine, sorry Shay, losing ninety
seconds left in the first half to seventh ranked Houston.
Speaker 5 (01:36:15):
They got twenty nine points.
Speaker 10 (01:36:16):
Five tweets just ran not happy.
Speaker 2 (01:36:20):
Oh the sun Devils are getting burnt right now by
the Houston Cougars. Hit him up back carry twenty five roads.

Speaker 2 (01:37:12):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio. Divisional playoffs. Rams
and Bears tied up at seven. Bears failed out a
fourth down on their first possession in Rams territory. Rams
answered with an eighty five yard drive capped off by
a Cairen Williams touchdown run. Bears then answered on a
fourth in goal from the two yard line, a touchdown
(01:37:33):
pass from Caleb Williams to DJ Moore, and then the
Rams punted. So the Bears have the football back on
serve if you will, as the Australian Open is about
to begin. If you want to use tennis terms, third
and ten, Bears have the football. Rams will get the
football at the start of the second half. As we mentioned,
Chicago had at first, but seven to seven, and I
know you would have loved it to be ten to
seven right now for Chicago, We're going to get to
(01:37:56):
carry on in a second. But I want to make
a point, Kerry, do you remember a couple of years ago,
and maybe it was a year or two ago. I
know Shay definitely remembers this. Do you remember when Jameis Winston?
I think in the Browns won that snow game? Was
it against the Steelers last year on Thursday on Thursday
Night Football? And how amazing that game was? Now everybody
(01:38:18):
fell in love with it, and we've seen other snow
games before. We had one with the Rams and Eagles
last year in Philadelphia, which is another reason. If you
saw the Rams and how they were able to adjust
within that game to the conditions, you would know that
they'd be able to play in this contest. This is
an amazing sight. It's snowing, it's the middle of January,
(01:38:40):
it's Chicago. I have been outspoken and I still stand
by it. I want to see the best of the
best play. That doesn't mean I want to see domes,
but I don't want weather hampering things so much that
the Rams and Bears cannot do what got them there.
And I've been steadfast with that. So I think what
happens is when we have a Blizzard game, it's just
(01:39:00):
so difficult and players are tiptoeing. Bengals and Bills was
a game this year and Joe Burrow still throws four
or five touchdown passes. He wasn't hampered by it at all.
Buffalo ends up winning the game on a comeback. You
have those conditions. I don't want the conditions to hamper
the players. But when the Bears are looking for a
new stadium, and whether it's going to be in suburban Chicago,
(01:39:24):
whether it's going to be in Gary, Indiana, wherever it's
going to be, when you have Cleveland making their indoor facility,
they are yes, I know in the suburbs.
Speaker 10 (01:39:34):
It's so sad.
Speaker 2 (01:39:36):
Those weather games are just going by the wayside. Yes,
So it is few and far between. So unless you
get the Packers playing a home playoff game, or you
get the Bills in their new stadium, like, the fact
is is they're going to be very Patriots, thank goodness.
But we are just getting fewer and fewer cold weather
(01:39:57):
sort of games that are out and it's a shame.
I don't want to play to be affected. But now
if the Bears get their stadium wherever it's going to be,
with the roof on it, it's going to be one
less place.
Speaker 10 (01:40:08):
We're going to miss out on moments like this too.
Speaker 1 (01:40:10):
I'm so happy and grateful get the Lord the best.
Speaker 6 (01:40:13):
Me to play in some snow, to be in true
football weather in Cleveland, Ohio at Huntington Bakfield today.
Speaker 4 (01:40:20):
To get him the glory. James Jamis is lyon from
He's from the best mayor Alabama. Like me, he does
not one to plays.
Speaker 6 (01:40:27):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:40:28):
I've been i fry in the face of everybody saying like, oh,
how great was it when guys are tiptoeing around because
they don't want to fall. I'm like, no, that's not
great football. But we've seen the Bears and Rams be
able to operate and this is operational weather and that
is going to be taken away. I mean, Kansas City
is getting, you know, their new facility as well, that's
(01:40:52):
going to be in Kansas and so those wind chill games,
like they're just everything is going by the wayside for
these facility that all end up kind of looking the
same with their roofs.
Speaker 5 (01:41:02):
And then that's the that's the issue.
Speaker 3 (01:41:04):
Right.
Speaker 4 (01:41:05):
Snow games can be fun like of course, as kids
when we were in Alabama and we would get the
occasional snow we were outside playing football, you know what
I mean, like it.
Speaker 5 (01:41:13):
Was part of our childhood.
Speaker 4 (01:41:15):
I think pretty much probably everybody's everybody's here, right if
the if the field isn't slick, which we talked about,
this game can still be played at a at a
at a high level. Yeah, And I think that's the
part where you talk about the Bears and you talk
about being super aggressive and passing up on points. This
this field might get sloppy and those three points you
(01:41:38):
may need later on. Right, we're scared of the Rams
scoring points, but if the surface changes and teams can't
be as explosive as they were, those three points can
come back to hunt you.
Speaker 2 (01:41:46):
Yeah, absolutely absolutely, But we've seen touchdowns so far, sir.
We'll see how the kicking game ends up being affected.
Here's Carry Rhoades.
Speaker 4 (01:41:57):

Let's go to the news desk, Manzie Belanos, who wasn't
(01:42:20):
there ten seconds ago?
Speaker 4 (01:42:21):
Magic?
Speaker 2 (01:42:22):
Like, I seriously, I looked gone. I looked down, I
look up in.
Speaker 4 (01:42:28):
There she is maybe I was here the whole time.
Speaker 10 (01:42:30):
I'm sure are you saying?
Speaker 4 (01:42:32):
I'm sure you can't see me over the desk?
Speaker 2 (01:42:36):
I talk about h I learned that last year what
I called Mary mack Young, Right, it was like whack
a mole, like he's the thing you justut of there.
Speaker 7 (01:42:45):
Leave me in my swinging legs alone here, okay, as
I sit on this chair. Oh guys, all right, we've
got the Nancy Divisional playoffs between the Bears and the Rams.
Speaker 8 (01:42:54):
Last I checked the weather.
Speaker 7 (01:42:56):
It said it felt like.
Speaker 8 (01:42:58):
It's felt like.
Speaker 7 (01:43:00):
And I just want to see if that's what it
feels like nine. It feels like nine in Chicago. The
Rams are driving. They don't seem affected by the weather.
I'm affected, and I'm over here. It is a tie game,
seven to seven, still early in the second quarter. Here
Matthew Stafford has thrown for ninety two yards, but it
was kyn Williams who got in the end zone for
the Rams, and Caleb Williams has thrown for eighty five
(01:43:21):
yards one touchdown. He does have one interception. That touchdown
went to DJ more So again, lots of game left
here in Chicago where it's snowing and cold, but the
Rams are driving. They're about midfield right now, still on
their own territory, approaching midfield. But the AFC Championship is set.
The Patriots will be taking on the Broncos at three
Eastern next Sunday.
Speaker 8 (01:43:42):
They came ready to play in.
Speaker 7 (01:43:43):
The Divisional round, defeating the Texans twenty eight to sixteen
behind four interceptions from their defense in the first half.
Drake May did what he needed to do. He was
sixteen of twenty seven, one hundred and seventy nine yards,
three touchdowns, and one interception. Houston did have a total
of five turnovers in this game. Other NFL news in
Casia mystaf former Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel's schedule to interview
(01:44:05):
in person Wednesday for the Browns head coaching job. The
Steelers are expected to speak with former Cowboys head coach
Mike McCarthy about their head coaching vacancy. The Tiants have
narrowed it down to three. According to multiple reports, They're
going to be meeting in person tomorrow with Chiefs offensive
coordinator Matt Nagie, forty nine Ers defensive coordinator Robert Sala,
who also had a virtual interview today with the Ravens
(01:44:26):
and Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Halfley, while the Eagles are
expected to interview former Giants head coach Brian Dable for
their offensive coordinator vacancy. In men's college hoops at halftime
number seven, Houston Leeds Arizona State right now fifty six
to twenty nine.
Speaker 8 (01:44:41):
In the NHL.
Speaker 7 (01:44:41):
Halfway through the third period, the Senators and the Red
Wings are tied at three apiece. In the NBA late
in the first quarter, the Bulls are up on the
Nets thirty one to seventeen, and also the Pelicans and
the Rockets, with Houston up twenty six to nineteen. But
just in Caseia missed it, NBA started in London today London,
and I'm a ramp played. Everyone thought he wasn't gonna play.
Speaker 8 (01:45:02):
No more is he being traded.
Speaker 7 (01:45:03):
He hasn't played six games. He played today double double
and the Grizzlies beat the Magic one twenty six to
one nine.
Speaker 4 (01:45:10):
They were in Germany a couple of days ago and he.
Speaker 7 (01:45:13):
Didn't play, and so they were just like, is he
not playing because he's being traded?
Speaker 8 (01:45:17):
But he played today, so.
Speaker 7 (01:45:20):
At the time he did and then ended with only
twenty four and thirteen, but Grizzlies were winning like the
whole game.
Speaker 4 (01:45:25):
So I don't know if that had to do it.
NBA Europe with.
Speaker 7 (01:45:28):
NBA Europe, and I think he made a three today
and brought out a bazookaka.
Speaker 4 (01:45:34):
I think he did it absolutely appropriate. He will never learn.
Speaker 7 (01:45:40):
It's just so funny, like how is he still doing?
Speaker 2 (01:45:43):
That's the thing is I just are you saying it's funny,
Like do you laugh?
Speaker 7 (01:45:48):
It's not funny, haha, it's funny, Like I can't believe
that this is still happening, Like it's just a joke
at this point, Like he's a joke.
Speaker 4 (01:45:58):
Yes, yes, yes, yeah, totally.
Speaker 5 (01:46:01):
I'm tired of him being handled with kid gloves, the grown.
Speaker 4 (01:46:04):
Man, grown man.
Speaker 12 (01:46:05):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (01:46:06):
My problem is is there's just there's there's no I'm
blanking on the word, but just admittance of yeah, wrong,
wrongness of accepting fault, accepting his responsibilities, I don't know
if his dad is still their court side.
Speaker 5 (01:46:28):
And you know you mean also Jr.
Speaker 2 (01:46:32):
Yes, it just seems everybody just wants the spotlight and
to do what they do and have no repercussions for it.
Speaker 4 (01:46:39):
You know what's crazy about that is they've been coddled
right Like you're the face of a franchise at nineteen,
and you get everything, you get everything you want early on.
And then I think when you get that and you
don't have any empathy for the people that are underneath
you and quote unquote like in the pecking order, that
stuff comes back to bite you anyway, because you're not
going to be in that position for long.
Speaker 5 (01:47:01):
It just doesn't. That's not the way the world works.
Speaker 4 (01:47:03):
Yes, and so do not have any empathy about any situations.
He almost got into a fight when his teammates about
picking the dinner spot the other day.
Speaker 2 (01:47:10):
Yeah, like it's that's ridiculous. Yeah, it doesn't make any sense.
Speaker 4 (01:47:14):
But we shall, we shall stand up, we.
Speaker 2 (01:47:18):
Shall carry on. Well, Monci has tacked that Pokemon collectors,
and according to Manci will see what Carrie Rose is
on or off about it. Give him five topics. He
tells me, if he's on board or if he's not.
Topic number one, the NFL needs to revamp their officiating
on it.
Speaker 4 (01:47:38):
Yeah, they're you want the best product on the field
from the players, from the teams, from the you know,
the organizations. Like that's what fans want and that's what
they deserve. The same should follow with the officials. I mean,
I know we want to say they're human. The players
are human. Everybody else is human out there too, And
if they're changing outcomes and affecting quality football on the
(01:48:04):
field from those star players out there, man, it's it's
bad for the business. And the fact that they're not
doing anything about it or trying to revamp it in
some way. It I don't understand it, and I do
know that they may have to pay more to get
the quality that they want.
Speaker 2 (01:48:20):
I think that that may be the issue. I understand
that there are a lot of rules and stuff that
goes with it. I understand a play like last night
with Brandon Cooks and Jaquan McMillan of being one that
is difficult to call.
Speaker 5 (01:48:33):
Yes, I have moral problem. They missed penalties.
Speaker 2 (01:48:36):
Yes, so the past interferences or however that's called those
Bank Bank players where we can't see the different angles.
I don't think that they're at fault, but the referees
on penalties, they're putting their spots for reasons, to see things,
to look for things. It's why, oh, holding may happen
on this side and the reps right there, but he's
not there to look at that. He's looking at something else.
(01:48:56):
That's where I have more of an issue. And I
do think that I do think that something needs to
be done. And I don't know if it's just making
them all full time, which I know isn't ideal, but
this is just an issue. I saw somebody post today
that in the wild card game last week, they placed
the ball. I'm just something needs to be done.
Speaker 4 (01:49:18):
Lack of consistency.
Speaker 2 (01:49:18):
Dan, Yeah, I wasn't service from a real or fake account,
so I won't even I won't even say what it said,
all right. Number two, Seattle is the toughest place to
play in the National Football League.
Speaker 4 (01:49:27):
Who you want her.
Speaker 2 (01:49:29):
Off of that?
Speaker 4 (01:49:29):
I'm I'm gonna be off on that, but it's real.
It's really close.
Speaker 5 (01:49:37):
My studio audience, it's really close.
Speaker 4 (01:49:40):
Seattle is a really tough place to play. But personally
for me, I just told you, Dan, The worst place
to play for me wasn't Minnesota in the Dome. It
was really loud, it was a terrible surface, and they
were committed that the minut the vikings in that, the
(01:50:03):
Purple people and that energy and just how that carried
old with Minnesota. Man, it was a very tough place
to play. Unique.
Speaker 2 (01:50:09):
Yeah, like get all domes like you were sucked in
exact out when you had to do the revolving doors.
Speaker 4 (01:50:14):
Exactly, couldn't memory.
Speaker 2 (01:50:15):
I've probably been to the Metro Dome five or ten
times in my life. I never saw a baseball game.
I saw college football there, I saw pro football there,
I saw basketball there, but never saw never saw a
baseball game with the Twins, all.
Speaker 4 (01:50:28):
Right, the number three.
Speaker 2 (01:50:30):
The New York Giants hit it big with John Harbaugh
as their head coach.
Speaker 4 (01:50:34):
Off, I'm off that, and you know, I'm off there, Ja,
I'll get there. They're getting restless in the studio. I'm
off it, man. I think John Harball is a great guy.
I think he's a quality guy. I think he's a
guy that obviously can go into the Giants and manage
the organization well. But I just saw him for the
last five years fumble an organization that had the MVP
(01:50:58):
on it.
Speaker 5 (01:50:59):
So I'm going to say I'm off that.
Speaker 4 (01:51:01):
I think he will help Jackson Dark in his early
stages of his career.
Speaker 5 (01:51:05):
But are they going to win a Super Bowl in
the next two years or three years? No, So I'm
off it all right. Number four switching gears to the NBA.
Speaker 2 (01:51:12):
The thunder are okay after finally beating the Spurs earlier
this week, I'm off.
Speaker 4 (01:51:19):
That as well. Okay, okay, yeah, yeah, okay, See, you
got some they got some problems they've I think they're smelling,
you know, smelling their cool their own kool aid a
little bit, and they're not getting the same production from
the guys that they got it from when they're really good.
J Dubb isn't Ja Dubb right now, and so they're
getting ancillary you know, points from other guys.
Speaker 5 (01:51:42):
But that's taking people out of their normal role.
Speaker 4 (01:51:44):
So I'm not sure that they're the juggernaut that everybody
thought they were in the beginning of the season.
Speaker 2 (01:51:50):
Did you just combine smelling the roses and drinking their
own kool aid? Just smelling their own kool aid? Yes,
I do love the.
Speaker 4 (01:51:57):
Y'll smell good.
Speaker 5 (01:51:58):
Right, Mary Mack is giving you off thumbs down. Mary,
I'm off it.
Speaker 8 (01:52:04):
You off it, You're off smelling the kool Aid.
Speaker 5 (01:52:07):
I'm off that. What's your favorite kool Aid flavor?
Speaker 4 (01:52:10):
I don't I'm not a kool Aid drinker. I'm a
water drinker.
Speaker 5 (01:52:13):
But probably blue, the blue kind.
Speaker 4 (01:52:15):
Okay, you said blue.
Speaker 2 (01:52:16):
I think Manci say red. I think she's singing red
black cherry for me.
Speaker 4 (01:52:21):
The fact that they didn't even say a real.
Speaker 5 (01:52:25):
The office what flavor? Blue blasts exactly?
Speaker 4 (01:52:28):
Blue? Blue blast?
Speaker 8 (01:52:30):
Does it matter?
Speaker 4 (01:52:31):
The red one?
Speaker 2 (01:52:32):
There are many, There are many flavors. My my college
roommate Don got me hooked on black cherry kool Aid.
I was a grape I was a greape guy, and
then black cherry.
Speaker 5 (01:52:44):
You're grape.
Speaker 12 (01:52:45):
I was.
Speaker 4 (01:52:45):
Did you see the Dave Sappell's kid where we were
talking about the guy the black guy picked the color.
It didn't pick grape. We just pick purple. The color purple.
I don't know what that is, but purple's you know.
Speaker 2 (01:52:57):
I love, Yes, I love grape stuff, but black cherry's
my favorite.
Speaker 4 (01:53:01):
Cool in all right, final one on or off?
Speaker 2 (01:53:04):
Tom Brady is now a top level game analyst. I'm
on it, I'm on it, I'm on it. He's not
the best.
Speaker 4 (01:53:14):
Let's get out, my gosh, they're standing for you know,
he's not the best, but he's definitely one of the
best now. And I mean I still think that Greg
Olsen is the guy right now for that top spot
in my mind. But Brady hasn't proved so much. And
obviously all the information and knowlogy has it's been great.
Speaker 2 (01:53:30):
Brady has put in the work and it is showed.
It showed these last couple of weeks. There it is
carry on and carry off. For January eighteenth of twenty
twenty six, guess what, another fourth down decision for the Bears.
They had a third down and one, they're in Rams territory.
They handed it off to DeAndre Swift. He didn't go anywhere,
So now it's going to be fourth and one. It
(01:53:52):
seems like a long one from about the thirty one
and a half yard line for Chicago. So the next
gen staf that NBC is showing us as go for it.
It's actually a shorter one, but they're at the thirty two.
They need to get to the thirty one yard line.
Kyle Manungai had a big reception earlier on this drive
they handed off to him. He goes nowhere, nowhere in
(01:54:15):
that situation. So the Rams get a stop for twenty
six to go until halftime, and it's tied up at
seven apiece.
Speaker 4 (01:54:23):
It could be thirteen seven, Dan, I mean that was
a longer feel go. I actually would have gone for
what there two probably.
Speaker 2 (01:54:28):
But there's pieces on the Bears offensive line. They had
to move some pieces around. I just I would have
put the ball in Caleb William's hands if it just
at least put him on the move at some point.
But then again, that's why I'm here talking to you
and not on the sidelines in Chicago.
Speaker 5 (01:54:45):
I'm here too. He is carry Rhoades.
Speaker 4 (01:54:47):
I'm Dan Beyer.
Speaker 2 (01:54:49):

know you're right. Actually, Mary point taking very good, very good.
I could give you the U oh, yes, you.
Speaker 5 (01:55:42):
Know I'm wrong.
Speaker 4 (01:55:44):
There you go.
Speaker 2 (01:55:45):
Every little step you take, Dan, I you don't again,
and this will blow your mind. But it was a
big new edition, Big Bobby Brown, Big Bell, BIV, Devel fan,
absolutely the whole deal, bib Yes, yes, even thought Johnny
gil fit in just you know, well yeah he did. Yeah,
(01:56:06):
I mean yes, I mean yeah he nobody did Bobby. No,
but Johnny Gill was really good.
Speaker 5 (01:56:15):
Yes, yes.
Speaker 2 (01:56:16):
And so then when they would have the reunions. Yeah,
this is the one thing I'll say.
Speaker 4 (01:56:21):
When I was.
Speaker 2 (01:56:23):
This is age me. I just turned forty nine on Friday.
I would buy CDs and CDs would be in cardboard boxes.
Speaker 4 (01:56:30):
Do you even remember this?
Speaker 2 (01:56:31):
They were long card usually you would get them with
like the plastic handle exactly, but prior to that they
were cardboard boxes. Two of my first five CDs were
Bellbev Devout.
Speaker 5 (01:56:41):
Yes, it was the Bellbev Devot.
Speaker 2 (01:56:43):
You know poison you know album, and then they had
WBBD Boot City, which was the remix album that then
they did their remix. So like, of my five first CDs,
two of them were Bellbev Devot, Elders Wow Yes, and
and I own Hoodie Mac, which is a follow up
album that very few people.
Speaker 4 (01:57:02):
Bought but I did. Hey, I don't know that one.
Speaker 5 (01:57:04):
No, you don't, but I do because I have it
in my collection.
Speaker 4 (01:57:07):
All right.
Speaker 2 (01:57:08):
The last go around here is the Bears and Rams
are currently playing in Chicago, tied up at seven in
the NFC Divisional Playoffs. Winner gets to go to the
NFC Championship Game to face the Seahawks coming up on
a week from today. Bears have the football right now
at their own thirty seven yard line, tied at seven,
with two fifty four to go, let's wrap up easy
(01:57:29):
as one, two, three, four. You've got your lifelines of Mary,
Max Shay and Monsey. Final question. This was thrown into
a curveball because I made it last night. Oh while
NBA games are going on, So you get a break.
You get a break.
Speaker 4 (01:57:44):
Here.
Speaker 2 (01:57:45):
Name four of the six leading scorers in the NBA
so far this season entering today's games, four of the six,
four of the six. You got four points so far.
If you get all four of these, you hit the
over of seven and a half.
Speaker 4 (01:58:00):
So we got Sga okay, we got Luca okay.
Speaker 5 (01:58:06):
So that's two. We need two more Luca st A.
Speaker 2 (01:58:09):
And I'm giving you six because of what transpired last
night that screwed up my question. If we would have
done this yesterday, it was fine, nice and clean. Top
four of the top six scores in the NBA season,
Lewis per game.
Speaker 4 (01:58:26):
Luca sta we got say you got something you about
to say? He's up there?
Speaker 6 (01:58:30):
He is?
Speaker 4 (01:58:31):
He is? He qualified? Then that does that matter?
Speaker 2 (01:58:34):
That's a good question. Qualified. They need to qualify. They
have to qualify.
Speaker 4 (01:58:38):
He hasn't played, he's miss yeah, Jayleen Brown might be closed.
Speaker 2 (01:58:42):
He's like he's right at thirty or twenty nine. You're
getting leeway because you're getting an extra answer. Here because
of a tie breaker.
Speaker 4 (01:58:49):
Okay, so I go Jayleen Brown, those three, I need
one more, Mancy.
Speaker 7 (01:58:55):
I want to what about what about Terry smacksym hm No,
I feel like.
Speaker 4 (01:59:00):
He's no, he's up there. No.
Speaker 7 (01:59:03):
No, Kawhi Leonard know because he isn't play enough, even
though he's had a crazy.
Speaker 5 (01:59:07):
James Harden No, no, not this year has.
Speaker 1 (01:59:10):
Not even going.
Speaker 7 (01:59:10):
Kawhi Leonard has been scoring more, but I don't know
if he qualifies.
Speaker 4 (01:59:13):
Luca Sda Brown, I like those. Yeah, it's got to
be one. Obviously, it's one more.
Speaker 10 (01:59:19):
Denny who Denny, No, he's not in a good year, but.
Speaker 7 (01:59:23):
Yeah, may Anthony Edwards he's injured.
Speaker 4 (01:59:29):
Yes, Anthony Edwards for sure. I'll take those for it
there all right.
Speaker 2 (01:59:33):
Show me s g A Yeah, second, thirty one point
eight points per game, Show me Luka doncic numero Uno
thirty three point six points per game, Show me, Jalen Brown.
There you go, fourth, twenty nine point seven points per game.
Show me Anthony Edwards the five points last week at
twenty nine points fifty five. Yeah, yeah, ties the Kola
(01:59:56):
Yokich they're both at fifth twenty nine point six.
Speaker 5 (02:00:02):
Well, I don't know I guess you don't know. I
guess that he's been out.
Speaker 10 (02:00:06):
He's been he's playing, he has been playing.
Speaker 8 (02:00:08):
He's been he's been injured.
Speaker 2 (02:00:10):
Tyree s MAXI was third at every point three point.
Speaker 10 (02:00:14):
Wow one from him.
Speaker 4 (02:00:17):
No, I know he's up there. I didn't know what
was tenty years thirty one.
Speaker 7 (02:00:20):
I feel like he's the only one from Philly.
Speaker 16 (02:00:22):
That's why think Glory Market was doing it because he's
That's why why did qualify thirty games played, he's ninth at.
Speaker 10 (02:00:33):
Twenty eight and then didn't qualify.
Speaker 4 (02:00:36):
No, Jannest did not qualify. But he's been going.
Speaker 2 (02:00:39):
Yeah, and Denny Aftia's top fifteen. He's fourteenth right now
in twenty six point one. For the job, guys, Yeah,
a good job. Hit the over of eight points.
Speaker 4 (02:00:48):
All right.
Speaker 2 (02:00:48):
We're sitting here even between the Rams and Bears. Who
wins this one? Carrie tied up at seven at the
two minute warning.
Speaker 4 (02:00:55):
Man, you know I'm going to Rams, Dan, But I mean,
Chicago's defense playing well and they're getting the ball back
to the Bears. If they play a little bit smarter,
the Bears can win this game.
Speaker 2 (02:01:06):
The Bears have been known to obviously make comebacks the
entire end zone is white, which does it They haven't
been around the end zone, but some of the some
of the field is getting to work on from a footprints.
I know the Bears like to be the comeback kids,
but if the Rams don't get this in motion, yes,
the more it favors Chicago, like we would think that maybe,
(02:01:27):
oh Chicago's gonna want to come from behind. No, I
think right now the Rams are spinning their wheels a
little bit. They had the opening drive, things were great.
Then maybe reality hits them. So if the Bears score
on this drive, I'll look out from Chicago.
Speaker 5 (02:01:41):
It's a big if. Saying I got a kick field
goal with the win this game.
Speaker 2 (02:01:44):
Not a chance, says Ben Johnson. He's carry roads. I'm
Dan Beyer. Will talk to you on Championship weekend next
week here on FSR
