Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
That is write fn A on fs R. Thank you
guys for listening as you do each and every week
as we get you ready for the super Bowl. Super
Bowl sixty coming up on Sunday afternoon at k FIG
one is where you can find me. On x you
can find Adam at follow Adam A. Adam playing hurt tonight.
But it's all good. He's brought the energy. Clipper's got
a victory, so he's ready to go.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
I feel I guess I feel terrible. I feel awful, Kevin.
I told you as we were doing some prep earlier today,
I'm gonna be more worthless than usual on the show,
and you're gonna have to carry me like Sam carried
Frodo in uh Return of the King, Because I think
I just saw the extended edition of that a couple
of weeks ago when it was re released back in theaters.
(00:45):
You can hear it in my voice. Is it more
nasally than usual?
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Yes? It is.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
You know what I think this is, Kevin is the
zoo flu A Viza zoobos, my favorite clipper in Zulenza.
Like Viata zoobots, my favorite got traded away. And I'm
actually sad about it. I'm legit sad. It's the first
time since I was a kid that a player got
moved from my team and it affected me emotionally. Maybe
(01:10):
we can talk about that later in the show or
something and take some phone calls.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
But we'll definitely get into the NBA trade deadline a
little bit later in the show, for sure, because a
lot of moving and shaking going on, a lot of
I would say more often or more than usual trades
that I think were beneficial for both parties involved that happened.
So we'll get into the NBA trade deadline coming up
in a little bit for sure. And the Clippers obviously
were a big mover in Shaker when he came to
the deadline, with Harden going to Cleveland and Zubats going
(01:35):
to the Indiana Pacers.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
We will help you, guys by bringing you a former
NFL player a guest in the second hour, Ephram Salom
from Fox Sports Radio will be here and he'll help
break down the big game coming up to We'll also
talk about I think some Olympics, I think the coaching
hires going on, Like there is much to sink our
teeth into.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
I want to dig into Ephram's brain because Ephrom played
in the Super in nineteen ninety eight. He was a
part of the Atlanta Falcon team that had to deal
with the Eugene Robinson situation the night before the game.
So talk about just what the distractions, how that situation was,
just the distractions in general when you're preparing for a
football game, the biggest football game of your life, and
then there's the backdrop of all of these other things
(02:18):
going on, you know, with all the media responsibilities and
all the pomp and circumstance and getting yourself mentally ready.
So I want to kind of dive into Ephram's brain
about that.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
All right, let's get started, though. In first off, there's
go time that's wrong.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
So a lot of people feel that, for whatever reason, Adam,
there's just not a lot of juice, for lack of
a better term, when it comes to this year's Super Bowl.
I don't know if it's because there's a lack of
star power, if there's a lack of non football interest
that we've had the last couple of years, you know
what I'm talking about when it comes to Travis Kelce
and Taylor Swift and all that sort of jazz, maybe
the lack of big time personalities. I don't know what
(02:56):
it is. I'm jazzed up for it as I ever
can be, to be honest with you, but I'm all
a football nerd and this is what we do, and
so I love it.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
Are you saying this is not a super Bowl for
the casuals out there? Is that what I'm saying, Kevin?
Speaker 2 (03:06):
That is what the general vibe has been. I don't
know when the circles you run in or what you've
seen and heard, do you kind of get that same
vibe that they're just not the same sort of oh
or excitement around this year's game as we've had in
recent years.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
I wasn't sure if it was just me, because I
was so focused on the NBA trade deadline, and you know,
I wasn't in the NFL bubble, and we're obviously not
up in Santa Clara doing the show or anything like that.
I wasn't sure if it was just me, But it
sounds like it's everybody. There isn't the same bus. There
isn't the same gravitas or whatever you're looking for with
the Super Bowl, because the problem is you have two quarterbacks.
(03:45):
The people who can easily attach themselves to the casuals.
It's usually the stories with the quarterbacks. One guy's only
in his second year. Granted he's playing for the Patriots,
but it's still just his second season. The other was
a Berney men who was initially a high draft pick. Yes,
figured it out last season with the Minnesota Vikings in
Sam Donald. There just isn't that much of an attraction there,
(04:09):
storylines there. None of them really talk or say anything
that interesting. They're too damned professional, they're too good, They're
too good.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
It's like, so five of the last six Super Bowls
have featured the best quarterback in the league, that being
Patrick Mahomes. The only other Super Bowl that didn't feature him.
Rams and Bengals. You had Joe Burrow, one of the
best quarterbacks in the NFL. Matthew Stafford one of the
best quarterbacks in the NFL in one of the biggest
markets in the entire country in Los Angeles. So I
think that I think that's the big part of it, and
you brought it up, the fact that there's just not
(04:37):
Drake may might end up being one of the best
quarterbacks in the NFL. He could end up being the
Andrew Luck to Peyton Manning. As you know from Tom
Brady handing it off to Drake May. He could end
up being that he was runner up in the MVP voting,
which we'll get into a little bit later, but he's
not a household name yet. Sam Donald, even for being
a top six pick or whatever he ended up being
for the Jets, he flamed out. He's a great redemption story.
(04:58):
But to your point, no one really outside of NFL
circles really knows who he is. And I'll even extend
it out just to the rosters in general. If you
say there's no star power from the quarterback position, it's like,
all right, is there anybody else that really stands out?
And honestly, even NFL fans who are non casuals, people
who generally follow the league closely, outside of Jackson Smith
and Jigba, maybe Christian Gonzalez defensively for the Patriots, Stefan Diggs,
(05:22):
there's only a handful of guys that I'll be honest
with you, most people who don't follow this on a
day and day out basis who they even know who
they are. So it's really just it's two franchises who
have had a run of success for the past decade.
Now it's two different iterations of the Seahawks and the
Patriots played each other. What was it ten years ago now,
however long ago it was, but two great franchises that
(05:43):
have had sustained success, that have turned over their rosters
and have different faces. But none of those faces, at
least as of right now, are big time stars and recognizable.
And I think that's a big reason why there's just
not a lot of juice behind it right now.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
You don't have the legacies on the line type of
feeling in this Super Bowl where there's just a lot
of skin in the game from either side. If Sam
Donald loses what or plays poorly, a lot of people
just say, well, that's who Sam Donald is. It's immense
it for him. If Drake May loses, they're gonna say, well,
he's got all this time to still win. He's a
young quarterback. The Seahawks were favored, they were at a
(06:16):
disadvantage with the Patriots. Like, it doesn't feel like there's
anything that critical here. The stakes aren't high enough in
this game. That's what it feels like to me.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Yeah, And you know, also the problem is with the
Patriots is the way that they've been winning. Like Seattle's
been exciting now. They ran San Francisco off the field,
but that Rams game was back and forth. I mean,
that was phenomenal. And I know a lot of people
are saying that was the Super Bowl anyway, and it
may have ended up being that.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Well, you know, like Seattle beat the forty nine ers
and then just ran over the Denver Broncos with Peyton Manning.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
I don't know if anybody saw that coming on. That
paid that offense for Denver with spectacular that year, broke
so many records in Seattle held them to what eight
points or something like that. Yeah, that was spectacular. That
was an unforeseen domination in that game. But the fact
that the Patriots have looked so unimpressive in all of
their wins. I mean, Drake May has been sacked five
times and all of their victories they've not racked up
(07:08):
over three hundred yards of offense. They look very, very unimpressive,
but just found ways to kind of win in a
work wind like fashion. I think if New England had
rolled into this game playing the same way Seattle had
and we had two big time, high powered offenses, no
name or not, it kind of gave you something to
look forward to. Well because Seattle, you know, one in
such spectacular fashion against the Rams, are like, all right, great,
(07:29):
and the Patriots just looks so pedestrian. I think that
kind of takes a little bit of shine off of
the game too.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
The dirty little seekert all season long is that the
Seattle Seahawks. Obviously they have been the best team in football. Yes,
they've been flying under the radar and doing it with
just the same stuff we're talking about now because they
don't have a ton of star power. They don't, but
they've gotten to this point and their defense, I don't know,
maybe we talk about them later on and this is
a historically great defense eventually, but Sam Darnold doesn't move
(07:59):
the needle for many, Like I literally just said, the
Super Bowl, the stakes aren't high enough in the freaking
Super Bowl?
Speaker 2 (08:06):
How can they get any higher?
Speaker 3 (08:07):
You know, that's how it should be, but it doesn't
feel like that now. From going from Mahomes to this
and Mahomes against Philadelphia last season, which was a rematch
of a Super Bowl from a couple of years before,
it just feels like such a steep drop off. Do
I need all that out of this stuff. No, but
these are the reasons why the casual viewer or there
(08:29):
isn't the same buzz that there was last year. That's
what it comes down to. There have been some great
Super Bowls recently and some great matchups, and this one
falls short of that clearly.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Yeah, well considered, I mean these super Bowls have all
had either some element of Patrick Mahomes or Tom Brady
or Joe Burrow or Matthew Stafford. And we talked about
the lack of star power. Actually went back, so remember
the last so the last time that neither side had
a superstar quarterback, you had to go all the way
back to two thousand and five. That was a rookie
bit Roethlisberger who wasn't Big Ben yet. And look, Drake
(09:02):
may might end up being becoming that guy, but he's
in year two just like Big Ben was. He wasn't
a star yet. And Matt Hasselbeck, who was a good player,
I was a pro bowler. He was a good player
throughout his career, but certainly didn't move the needle for anybody.
And I would say the hype going into that game
wasn't necessarily that huge although you did have you had
a marquee franchise in the Pittsburgh Steelers, so that's always
going to help you carry it a little bit, you.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
Order versus their tight end. What was the smack Jeremy Stevens.
Jeremy Stevens. Yeah, that was a lot of the smack talk.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
It was, you know, And so since then, you know,
that's the last time you've had kind of a non
superstar matchup at the quarterback position. You've always had one
of the best players at the best position performing on
this stage. So this is a rarity that we have
a situation like this. So I do think it's just
a it's a weird combination of certain stars aligning. I
think it would feel a little bit different if Matthew
Stafford and the Rams had found a way to beat
(09:51):
Seattle and they were in the Super Bowl taking on
the Patriots. It just adds a little bit of extra
mph to it. It doesn't make anything. Here's the thing, though, Adam,
are people not going to watch?
Speaker 3 (10:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (10:01):
People, are you not gonna watch the game? I know
the commercials you can all go online right now at
you two probably and find all of them. But if
you're not gonna are you not gonna sit there or
your wives are not gonna sit there and want to
watch all the commercials? If you know, are you intrigued?
Some people may be. Some people may not buy a
bad Bunny in the halftime show. You're gonna watch it,
or the alternative halftime show with Kid Rock or whoever
else you want. You're gonna jump into all so we
(10:23):
can talk about this and talk in circles about how unintriguing,
how unexciting and all this is gonna be. Every last
one of us is gonna be sitting in the exact
same spot on Sunday, watching the exact same damn thing.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
I think part of the problem too, is if the
matchup just seem closer, even if there was the anonymity
between not having the stars like we're talking about here
versus past seasons. But most people just accept that Seattle's
gonna win by like a touchdown or two, or just
blow them out, like people don't believe. The New England Patriots,
(10:54):
I think, are legitimate title contenders, and they got by
through a soft schedule during the regular season, and then
they get a Broncos team in the AFC Championship that
is missing their quarterback. They've been very fortunate along the way,
and it just seems too early for Drake May. Now,
this could all be turned on its head if Drake
(11:15):
May leads them to a victory and it's more like
and they're not fourteen point dogs like the Patriots were
against the Rams in two thousand with the coming out
party with Tom Brady then. But it would feel definitely
like an upset to me if the Patriots won this
game somehow, because I'm looking at it like most are.
Seattle's defense is way too good. He's gonna have to
(11:36):
play perfect out there. And Sam Darnold, he's very talented
if he doesn't completely implode because of all the criticism
over the years of him not getting it done in
big moments. Seattle's fine, They're gonna win this.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
Yeah. It's been funny all week, just trying to find
so many people trying to convince themselves why the Patriots
can win with us can win this game, and I'm
saying that they can't. We've seen improbable things happen before.
You mentioned the greatest show on turf, Rams losing to
almost no name, basically a New England Patriots team back
in two thousand and one, so it can't happen. But
you look just across the board, matchup by matchup, where
(12:11):
do the Patriots have the edge over the Seahawks, maybe
at quarterback? And do they even have it there? I
mean the way Sam Donald's played this year, I mean, who.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
Knows Sam Donald the first nine games of the season
was grading out as maybe the best quarterback in the
league at that time, right the way we were looking
stuff up with pro football focus, like, his numbers were astronomical.
It was the first Rams game that turned the season
around and made people believe he's the same guy that
he was last year with the Vikings. But then he
comes through in the NFC Championship game. I'm not going
(12:41):
to say he outperformed Matthew Stafford, but he more than
held his own and did his part.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
He went toe to toe with him. Yeah, Ahalla. First,
he was someone who's going to end up being a
first ball of Hall of Famer.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
It was a superstar like performance from him. They needed
all of it and he delivered, and I think that
might have gotten the monkey off his back to the
point where he could be a little bit looser now
in the Super Bowl against a team that Drake may
has had some really bad turnovers along the way in
the playoffs, and they've gotten away with it. They got
away with it against the Chargers. They could have easily
lost that game if Justin Herbert just hasn't totally didn't
(13:13):
totally implode. So I think there are a lot of
doubters when it comes to this Patriots team, and I'm
kind of one of them right now. I don't think
this is one of I think the Rams would have
beat him. There's a handful of teams that I would
have taken healthy against this Patriots team. I would have
taken Buffalo against them.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
I might, Yeah, I might have taken San Francisco against
the Mommy. There's a handful of teams out of the
NFC that I would have taken over the Patriots at
this point, and which puzzles me. And Vegas always knows.
You know, the fact that the line is only three
and a half tells you a little bit something, because
I'll be honest with you, I would if it were me,
this line is at least seven. Yeah, I'm going up
to probably say if you just look just look at
(13:49):
all the numbers, look at the production look at the
way the teams have played through the postseason to this
point in time. There's no justifiable reason, if you're being objective,
that the New England Patriots would only be three and
a half point dogg against Seattle.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
I think it's that Boston money coming in. Could you
know they must be pushing it because they're all betting
on the on the Patriots, because it doesn't make a
lot of sense to me either. I would have thought
Seattle minus six or something like that. At least this
is interesting. But as you mentioned, all that matters is
we're still going to be glued to the television on Sunday,
and if it turns out to be a great game,
(14:23):
none of the letdown leading up to it, that's inconsequential
at that point.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
Yeah. Well, one thing I don't want. I don't want
it to be the Patriots in the rams from a
few years ago. What was it was that thirteen to
three or something like that that was ugliest football games? Yeah,
Jared Golf, you know missed an open guy. You know,
Tom Brady had a throat at Rob Gonkowski. They set
him up for their only touchdown. That was one of
the ugliest Super Bowls. I can remember very forgettable.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
You're right, This I'm hoping is at least competitive enough
to make it interesting to where it's not about the
commercials or the halftime showing one of those type of
Super Bowls.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
Definitely, definitely when we come back. This is F and

coming up in just a little bit, not because I'm lazy,
because I'm sick as a dog right now, and I
got like, you know, when you're in the eye of
the storm of the zoo flu and you got the
shakes and you got the fever and all that stuff.
I'm sick as a dog, and I'm so nice that
(17:10):
I offered not to go into the control room to
infect anybody else in there so we can keep it
controlled in the studio here. Kevin and Breece still got
mad at me for that. And by the way, I
let Brie have the option of doing and leading on
geek News or Stranger than Fiction coming up. Okay, and
she's gonna lead on Stranger than Fiction because I'm too sick,
(17:32):
pathetic and I need everyone else to carry me through
the next three hours.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
Ada needs to save his pipe, so I understand.
Speaker 7 (17:37):
And he thinks he's so nice for doing that, which
I don't really understand.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
Why would I not be looked at his sport nice.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
I think he's being nice to you and Mark by
staying as far away from you guys as possible.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
So what this this is the start of World War Z?
Like this is the star of that movie.
Speaker 7 (17:53):
Oh my god, I swear the fact that the last
two weeks we've we've mentioned the Clippers at the start
of every single show, just like gives me like the
eegb's over here.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
Okay, if it was the Suns, though, did you guys
make any moves?
Speaker 2 (18:06):
No, you didn't.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
Nothing of consequence. So we're talking man a mere coffee.
I love a mere coffee. You know, a former will
upset me seeing him in a son's uniform. But we'll
talk more of the NBA trade deadline. What actually did happen?
But Kevin, uh, what about what didn't here?
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Yeah, the big Fish or I guess the big deer,
whatever you want to call him, I guess it didn't
get moved at the deadline. All the rumors we talked
about this last week on the show about Joannison Totakumpo,
when whether or not he'd be moved at the deadline
and asking for a trade but not really asking for
a trade, which is really really annoyed that living crap
out of me, the way he's handled this situation from
(18:45):
last week and then the fallout this week from not
getting traded and the Wolf of Wall Street video. Okay, right, right,
whatever you say?
Speaker 3 (18:56):
Honest, do you think he was trying to ingratiate himself
back with the fan base at for knowing that he
wasn't going to be traded. I think that came out
from Shams like early in the day on Thursday, that.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
They stopped fielding calls and they were going to keep him.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
Which is wild to me. After all the rampant speculation
going back to last summer where he's talking with a
YouTuber speed about if he's going to still be a
Milwaukee Buck in the future, and he said something to
the effect and we'll see what happens. There's been so
much smoke around this and for him to still be
a member of the Milwaukee Bucks. And I know the
(19:29):
injury probably played a bit of a role here, because
if he wasn't injured and a team could trade for
him right now and have him playing, maybe he's already gone.
But still the semantics, the verbiage where he doesn't want
to have to say I want to be traded or
I want out, it does look very passive aggressive. It
looks like he's trying to keep all that good will
(19:51):
with Milwaukee. And I'm here to tell you, honest, they're
gonna love you forever. You got them their first championship
in fifty years. You can do no wrong, even if
you say and hold a press conference and do your
own decision that you want to leave Milwaukee, they would
still love you in the end.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
It's just so weak. And I heard our friend and
colleague Yovan Bouja does a great job covering the Lakers.
He kind of used the analogy of like you're in
a relationship with somebody, but you don't want to initiate
the breakup, but you just end up being a giant
douchebag and just trying to sabotage as much as possible,
so the other person breaks up with you, they force
their hand. Yeah, that's kind of seems to be like
what Yiannis is doing. He's trying to do the old
have your cake and eat it too, And it's like, look, man,
(20:29):
if you don't want to be there anymore, they don't
be there anymore. Don't do these long interviews with the
Athletic and then Milwaukee Journal Sentinel want to talk about
how much you love Milwaukee and like you want to
be able to compete and I want to be able
to retire and win here. But if these things aren't
aligned and what they feel like they need to go,
they need to go into a different direction. Well, I
guess that's something they have to consider. Just say, look, man,
you guys are not in a position to win. We
haven't been for the last couple of years. The Dame
(20:51):
situation didn't work out. I'm not a fan of Doc
Rivers as a head coach. Send me somewhere where I
can win. I don't owe you guys anything. You guys
don't owe me anything. Let's just move on. Just say it.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
Milwaukee is trying to accommodate him and take care of him,
so it's amicable. So it's a mutual parting of ways,
so it's not some nasty divorced type of split out there.
So my guess is because all the reporting said Golden
State was hot form, Minnesota was hot form. Golden State
had four first round picks they could give up. Minnesota
(21:22):
had Jaden McDaniels, and I think three first round picks
they could give up. Right, there were teams that I
think were willing to trade, and maybe Jannis didn't want
to come all the way to the West coast because
then he wouldn't be able to fly to Greece as
easily like or.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
Or Speaking of the video that he posted, the legends
don't chase in the rumor that he doesn't want to
play second fiddle to Steph Curry. Sure and feel as
if it's going to tarnish his legacy as and be
seen as a ring chaser, which, by the way, no
logical person would say that, because one, there'd be no
comparison to Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant joined the team that
had the best record in the history of basketball, and
(21:58):
if Jamont Green isn't kicking guys in the nuts in
the NBA Finals, they'd probably win that series against the
Cleveland Cavaliers. So that's one. Two. You already won a
championship as a lead dog in Milwaukee, so it's not
as if no one's gonna say you weren't able to
do it without help.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
So he needs to be on social media more to
see what the fans are saying about him, because you're
completely right there, there won't be that level of back lasts.
You'll be fine.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
And Golden State's not doing jack the last couple of
seasons as great as Steph Curry is, and he still
is great, So if anything, he would be viewed as
almost like a savior. He came in and helped float
this thing back up to where they were the last
few years when they when last won the championship a
few years back, so he could be seen as the elixir,
as the missing piece, he wouldn't be seen as a
gravy trainer. So that part doesn't make sense to me either.
(22:43):
So if indeed he is the one that potentially shuttled
any sort of trade for the Golden State Warriors, then
I think that was a short sighted look on his
part by saying he doesn't want to be in Steph
curry shadow.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
The only reasoning that makes sense to me of not
willing to go to Golden State is because has all
that stuff you said is true. But Steph is so
damn beloved there as he should be. I think he's
the top five player of all time. He's their favorite son.
There's no way to overcome that. It would be one
thing of like, twenty years from now, you go to
(23:15):
Golden State and you are the next guy. If you
go there right now, play with Steph's Steph eventually retires,
you're still there. You are always going to be in
his shadow to some degree. With how much they love
Steph Curry, KD won those MVPs. They don't care. They
still love Steph Curry. It's just different. I understand that
(23:36):
I could get that part of it, but it was
still not kd. It is not the same. It's not
analogous to what Kevin Durant and what he had to
deal with there because he hadn't won yet. He blew
a three one lead to Golden State the year before.
Speaker 2 (23:49):
Jannis could retire right now and say I'm not playing
for anybody, I'm not playing for Milwaukee. I'm gonna take
my bag, take everything and go back to Greece and retire.
He'd be a Hall of Famer. He'd be considered one
of the all time grace and maybe if he doesn't
play this out for another six seven years, you can't
potentially have him competing for a top you know, eight
spot or whatever all time. But he's certainly defensive player
of the Year, one of the great two way players
(24:10):
in the last twenty seasons. So he doesn't need anything.
He doesn't So what if it's an ego player on
his part, I'm here to tell him your ego doesn't
need to be play kated when it comes to playing
with Steph. Even if you win go to Golden State,
win a championship or two. Your legacy has already cemented,
so that doesn't necessarily unless it's just in your head.
You feel like you're worried about what other people who
(24:31):
are uneducated, what they might think.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
Now that's their reason why. That's very kDa Katie.
Speaker 6 (24:37):
Kevin Well one almost.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
Secure superstar players probably in the history of sports.
Speaker 3 (24:44):
He just tweeted you, Kevin, you might want to check
your messages there.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
From which account.
Speaker 3 (24:48):
Let me see what I don't like is Yannis tested
the waters here. He tested the waters, he saw what
the trade packages were, he saw the locations, and he
eventually agreed with Milwaukee, Ya, we don't need to do
this right now. So shifting into acting like, oh, I
was never going anywhere, it's ridiculous. With the Wolf of
(25:08):
Wall Streets stuff, It's like, no, no, no. If the price
was right, if the location was as desired as they
thought it would be for you, you'd already be gone
by now. So now that it's convenient because the trade
deadline is but behind them, to be like, ah, I
was always with you, legends, don't go anywhere else, that
seems a little bit off to me now.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
Seeing that mean, if I was a Bucks fan, It's like,
don't sit here and gaslight me. Man, Like, I love
you to death. Your your our favorite son. You're a hero,
we drafted you, cultivated you. You want a championship. You're phenomenal.
Don't sit here and gas light me. Just be honest.
I think all anybody's asked for is just for a
little bit of honesty here.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Just be honest.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
Yeah. Right.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
If I saw him coming to the Clippers, when I
retract everything, I just said, yes, I do love you honest.
I do like his personality. I've always liked the way
he has played. I love he gave one of the
all time answers a couple of years ago when they
asked him if this season was a failure, and he
pointed out, how there's a process to all of this
and in all those seasons we didn't lose, eventually got
(26:07):
us to a championship. And it was really cerebral and
really interesting and fascinating to get that type of insight
from an athlete at that high of a level. And
he is, he's a Hall of Famer today, he is.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
He is.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
Did he make the top seventy five team already?
Speaker 2 (26:22):
I'm not sure, actually, I mean, I'm not sure.
Speaker 3 (26:24):
He's there now. I'll say that I think Giannis is
so good when you look at how many times he
finished top five in MVP voting, and he's got MVPs,
he's got a Defensive Player of the Year award. He
has maybe the best at least best modern closeout game
in an NBA finals at least the last fifty years,
with his fifty point game that he had against the
(26:46):
Phoenix Suns sorry Brie in that game six back in
twenty twenty one. Yannis is historically great and we've lost
sight of that a little bit because of him being injured,
of him of them not having a great team around him,
Janni's you know, and the Milwaukee Bucks just not performing
well enough in the playoffs, even though Yanna still puts
(27:07):
up monster numbers. I just think they've mismanaged things, and
some of.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
It is bo He hasn't been available in the playoffs
for a couple of runs too recently.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
He's been out and they sold out to get that
championship in twenty twenty one, and that hurts some of
their future with draft capitol and guys they gave up
and it's all, okay, you won your first championship in
fifty years. But if he goes somewhere else and wins,
because they're not gonna win in Milwaukee and all this
bs right now that like, oh, he's going to stay
and they're going to try to build around him this
(27:35):
summer and still try to make this work. How many
times are we going to go through this. It's not
going to work. They don't have the assets, they don't
have the young guys, they can't build a good enough
team around him. He goes somewhere else and wins as
the lead dog. I'm saying, Yannis is like a top
fifteen player of all time, maybe top ten, Like that's
how good he has been. So a guy that competitive,
(27:57):
that wants to win, that always accepts challenges and knows
what his legacy is. I gotta think it's still gonna
happen this summer, regardless of what they're saying right now.
I don't buy it.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
It's not gonna be easy, but it is possible for
them to potentially try to put more pieces around them
and try to get them to win. They will have
the ability to have three first round picks that they
can trade over the summer. The way this season is trending,
one of them is going to be a lottery pick,
and you know who the hell knows where that falls.
The Dallas Mavericks had a how many percent chance to
get Cooper flag and they ended up getting it. So
if one of those six, if one of those picks
(28:31):
is in the top three, to go with two more,
you have Kyle Kusma's expiring salary at around twenty some
million dollars. If the right player comes available in the offseason,
you can say, well, hold up, we don't necessarily need
to move on as to Blank. We can bring somebody
else here and it can end up helping us and
raising our ceiling a little bit. Do I think that
is likely? No, But I'm saying that this summer similar level.
(28:52):
We're talking about a bunch of these other teams that
are trying to court you honest that once you know
the summer starts, you have an additional draft pick to attach,
you have more compensation, and the packages for Gianni's become
more robust to present to Milwaukee. Milwaukee also has more
assets that they have available to them to be able
to try to throw at other teams to see if
they can bring in some help.
Speaker 3 (29:10):
I think this is more about and I think you
believe this too. Of course, that other teams, they could
get more offers and more teams bidding against themselves this
summer because other teams will have more assets. Like talking
about the Lakers, they'll go from one first round pick
they could offer now to three. Miami, one of the
destinations he's interested in, could go from two first round
(29:31):
picks to having four this summer. Minnesota apparently doesn't have
a first round pick they can offer currently, they would
go from zero to one. New York would go from
zero to having two this summer. And San Antonio, I
mean they could have made it happen right now, the
other players they have.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
If they wanted to. We talked about this last week.
San Antonio and Oklahoma City, if they really wanted to,
could easily have made this deal.
Speaker 3 (29:53):
They still go from three first round picks they could
trade right now to five or not right now, but
before the trade deadline having five first round picks they
could trade this summer. So maybe it's just good business,
maybe being patient waiting for Giannis to recover, who has
also said like he still wants to play this year,
even though they could just go into total tank mode
(30:14):
with all the other teams that are because this is
a great draft.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
All due respect to Doc Rivers, I kind of take
what he says with a grain of salt because I
don't know if he's going to be here this time
next year. That's a bunch of crap. Well, that's a
bunch of crap, and y'all know it. Well, you know
all the way the organization organization is being run. You
might be right. Doc might still be there next year.
That might be a mistake. Though, to be honest, considering
the things that Giannis has said about Doc and about
some of his teammates publicly in the media, I can't
(30:37):
see if he does have any designs of potentially staying there.
Doc Rivers is not going to be the head coach.
I'll tell you that right now. That's a bunch of crap,
and y'all know it.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
I think Kevin might be right. I can't believe Doc
said the other day Joel Embiid is the most talented
player I've ever coached. While he is coaching Giannis is
at a koupa. There no need for that.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
Yeah, of course, And you know he knew what he
was doing when he said that. He's like, two can
play at this game, honest, you know what I mean?
So maybe Doc already knows he's on his way out.
He's like, I don't care.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
Does his contract go well past this year where he
can just sit at home collecting checks or do some broadcasting.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
Probably, yeah, he'll get fired. He'll be He'll show up
next to No What Eagle on NBC next week.
Speaker 3 (31:15):
I like that broadcast team.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
The Doc is a good broadcaster. Doc will always have
a job in broadcast whenever he wants. He does a
good job, no doubt.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
So if she cares enough to handle things for us
in the very next segment, it's stranger than fiction breed.
Do you want to tease something out here? What do
you got? Give us that good tease? Come on, this
is profressional radio.
Speaker 8 (31:35):
Okay, so we're getting what.
Speaker 3 (31:37):
Do you okay? Okay, okay.
Speaker 8 (31:39):
So you see you.
Speaker 7 (31:40):
Always cut me off too, which is like another reason
I don't love doing that.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
I'm cutting myself off. Oh you you need a question,
floors Yours.
Speaker 8 (31:47):
About ten years too late for that.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
Anyways.
Speaker 8 (31:52):
So Valentine's tea is coming.
Speaker 7 (31:53):
Up, so we're gonna do like a little like love
science kind of experiment, but really dark and resting.
Speaker 8 (32:00):
Also, wow, hell.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
Dark and depressing love science experiment. Yes, sounds right up
Adam's alley.
Speaker 7 (32:06):
I like it well they I also think of the Notebook,
but like with like nitrogen oxide.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
So like the Notebook meets death note that movie. Okay, perfect,
thank you, this will be fun. More f and A
coming up next. Breebrie is leading with Stranger than Fiction.
This is Fox Sports Radio Alarmed.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
Here Fna Cotton on FSR Fox Football Saturday, Get ready
for the super Bowl coming up on Sunday afternoon. Have
you ever wiped with a piece of dry toilet paper
and wondered? Is this as good as it gets?
Speaker 6 (32:40):
Well?
Speaker 2 (32:40):
It is not switched to life changing wet extra large
flexible Dude Wipes because Wedter just cleans better. Available at
Amazon and at major retailers nationwide. Dude wipes best clean
pants down.
Speaker 3 (32:53):
All right, we're gonna try something new now. She's done
it plenty of times before. It's Stranger than fiction with Braebris,
a fast food customer defending criticise n called nine one
one after her McDonald's run out of McNuggets he can't give.
Speaker 9 (33:07):
A drunk man riding a horse at EWI and go
on like cars or they don't have motors.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
They have in mind in their.
Speaker 3 (33:12):
Own twenty four year old man now Juesay throwing an
alligator through a drive through window. Change, what's that?
Speaker 2 (33:27):
Bray?
Speaker 3 (33:27):
What's going on?
Speaker 7 (33:28):
Okay, So you guys saw the Notebook, right, we're getting
close to Valentine's Day.
Speaker 2 (33:33):
I have seen it.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
Yes, I wear it like a badge of honor that
I've never seen it.
Speaker 8 (33:37):
Why am I not surprised?
Speaker 3 (33:38):
What was that supposed to me?
Speaker 8 (33:39):
I just feel like you'd be like, oh, it's too mainstream.
Speaker 3 (33:42):
It looked like it was done on the Hallmark channel
or something like that. No disrespect.
Speaker 7 (33:46):
Ryan Gosling is an Academy Award winning actor.
Speaker 3 (33:50):
Not for that.
Speaker 8 (33:52):
That's harsh.
Speaker 7 (33:53):
Alrighty, Well anyway, well then I'll just tell you and
pretty much most of society has seen The Notebook, but
at the very very end of the movie, they're a
little bit older and they die within like they die
at the same time.
Speaker 8 (34:04):
Basically they dye in each other's arms.
Speaker 7 (34:06):
Right, Okay, So I there is this article about this
controversial Sarco quote unquote suicide pod which allows couples to
die together.
Speaker 3 (34:19):
A suicide pod, a pod, a pact for a pod.
Speaker 2 (34:23):
What is this?
Speaker 3 (34:23):
This is dark? Are we talk about this?
Speaker 7 (34:27):
I'm sorry it would say I thought it was really
creepy but cool in a weird way.
Speaker 8 (34:33):
Okay, well, because I really like the name of it.
Speaker 7 (34:35):
It's called the Sarco pod, which is short for sarcophagus.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
Okay, oh, how clever, I know.
Speaker 8 (34:41):
And so it's a.
Speaker 7 (34:42):
Three D printed euthansia device, and so it's drawn like
attention because of its design and purpose, you know, but.
Speaker 8 (34:50):
Really it's the whole point is so couples they.
Speaker 7 (34:52):
Go into it, they go into this pod together and
they both press a button at the same time, and
it releases night and gas inside and reduces the oxygen levels.
Speaker 2 (35:03):
This sounds very romantic.
Speaker 8 (35:06):
Lethal amounts, and so the guy who's.
Speaker 3 (35:08):
Asking themselves to death, that's what we're talking about, couples
using a gas chamber to die together. Again.
Speaker 7 (35:15):
The only reason why I thought this story was a
little bit interesting was because we're getting close to Valentine's
Day and it just kind of opens that wide discussion
of like couples that they do kind of like sometimes
couples just die like days or minutes apart from each other.
A couple that's been together like fifty sixty years.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
That's one goes dying of a broken heart, isn't it?
Speaker 8 (35:36):
Broken heart syndrome is real?
Speaker 3 (35:38):
Like me with the beats of zoo bots and the
zoo flu.
Speaker 8 (35:40):
Well, you look great though, unfortunately, wow?
Speaker 2 (35:44):
Is that it?
Speaker 8 (35:45):
Or it's not?
Speaker 7 (35:46):
Like you're on a plane in Indiana right now. I
would be more, I believe that, you know.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
But anyway, so that I would go.
Speaker 2 (35:52):
If they wanted them, if they threw him into the trade,
Adam will.
Speaker 3 (35:55):
Go take me away you.
Speaker 7 (35:56):
He'd wear that yellow jersey really proud. I'm sure it's anyway.
So it was developed by this Australian physician and so
he's actually known for his advocacy of assisted suicide.
Speaker 3 (36:06):
Doctor.
Speaker 7 (36:09):
So assistant suicide is actually like a big deal in
like Switzerland. Actually wrote a paper about this in college.
Speaker 2 (36:15):
So maybe I just have to you're an extrata. This
is right up your ally.
Speaker 8 (36:20):
I wrote a paper kind of like advocating for it.
Speaker 3 (36:22):
Advocating for it.
Speaker 7 (36:23):
Yeah, it's suicide. So so Switzerland is like a big deal.
And actually another movie where that was like really prominent.
Was Me before You Great? Also Ram Calm movie that
people should check out.
Speaker 2 (36:37):
I don't know that one.
Speaker 7 (36:37):
Oh really Amelia Clark, she's from Game of Thrones Calisi.
Speaker 2 (36:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (36:45):
And then the really a super hot guy that I
can't think of his name, but no, no, he's not
a Game of Thrones, but.
Speaker 8 (36:52):
It's super he's super hot.
Speaker 7 (36:54):
It's about a paralyzed gentleman who's really really rich and
hires Amelia Clark is like his uh kind of like
caregiver slash, you know, house keeper, and they kind of like,
well in blah blah blah blah. But he's paralyzed and
he's young. I mean he's probably like in his early thirties.
So they also kind of talked about assist suicide in
that one. So he received interests. The scientists that received
(37:16):
interest from couples, including one from Britain that said they
wanted to quote unquote die in each other's arms. Okay,
so the new design, they call it a double Dutch Sarco,
the double Dutch, the bubble dutche.
Speaker 8 (37:30):
It shouldn't laugh, but it's so funny.
Speaker 7 (37:32):
So that both occupants must press their buttons at the
same time or the device will not be activated, and
so the proposed device would actually use AI to assess
the mental capacity of the occupants, because what if they're
both a little.
Speaker 8 (37:48):
Cuckoo you know.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
Yeah, well, yeah, feel confident the computers determining that that
makes sense to make sure. Yes, sciences I'm sure do
very well in determining and the classifying human.
Speaker 3 (38:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (38:01):
See, I don't know about that. So yeah, so that's
what that's what I got.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
So you got plans for how you're going out basically
the scene.
Speaker 7 (38:11):
I just feel like, you know, you're just kind of
taking matters in science and you know, kind of evolution
into your own hand Darwin Serie into your own hand.
Speaker 2 (38:18):
That's a great first date icebreaker right there.
Speaker 3 (38:21):
How would you feel suicide pod together.
Speaker 7 (38:25):
Yeah, I mean, just you know, things are getting dark.
Maybe you can't afford rent or something.
Speaker 2 (38:29):
I thought even afford rents, you know, you can move out,
you know, or get some more roommates. You don't necessarily
have to end it all. I was like, well, rent
went up by five hundred bucks. I guess it's tough
for me to go go to the mansion in the
sky with the Lord Jesus.
Speaker 3 (38:43):
I thought even mentioning a movie that had the name
suicide when we went through the Halloween movies. Adam's horribly
long list of Halloween movies would be too far. We
just did a segment on it now.
Speaker 8 (38:55):
Okay, but again we're still on the air again.
Speaker 7 (38:58):
The whole point, the whole point was the fact that
we're near Valentine's Day.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
You couldn't breath, you couldn't find anything else Valentine's Day
related or couples related.
Speaker 8 (39:09):
Just reminded me of the notebook.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
That's the only reason be mine in the suicide pod.
Speaker 7 (39:16):
Because pods are used in sports too. Okay, it's just
like the hyperbaric chambers.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
Yeah, cryo therapy and stuff like that.
Speaker 7 (39:23):
Yeah, So that's what I'm saying is just now they're
expanding into different realms of life.
Speaker 2 (39:29):
There, instead of helping your improve performance, we're gonna help
you kill yourself. Great, this all sounds like progress to me. Bri.
Speaker 3 (39:36):
Well, it's gonna be hard to be standing erect if
you're in the suicide pod, like this is no, you're right,
this is stranger than picture.
Speaker 2 (39:48):
All right.
Speaker 8 (39:49):
Okay, but see I feel like I really hit my
mark here.
Speaker 3 (39:52):
Couldn't there have just been they tried to freeze their
bodies to like rejoin each other in the future somewhere
or story like that.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
Something just cryogenically frozen.
Speaker 8 (40:02):
Okay, if you had a choice, what would you rather do?
Speaker 7 (40:05):
Would you rather be like Captain America and go freeze
yourself or just be like it's my time, It's my time.
Speaker 3 (40:10):
It's like a heavy assistant suicide. It's like a heavy discussion, man,
whether pull a plug on someone or not? Is that
sports radio appropriate?
Speaker 8 (40:21):
But you have the choice, that's all I was saying.
Speaker 7 (40:24):
This is all This is the whole point again Valentine's Day,
and you have the choice to do whatever you need
to do.
Speaker 2 (40:30):
I choose to have just a nice, you know, date
with my wife and enjoy each other's company and talking
about the future. In the future that doesn't include us
killing ourselves in a suicide pod.
Speaker 3 (40:40):
Yeah, it's one thing to like plan to have your
caskets and be buried next to one another. This seems
a little bit different than that, although I guess this
is cheaper. It's one casket rather they just get buried together.
Speaker 8 (40:50):
It's one Sarco pod. Double dutch, double dutch.
Speaker 3 (40:53):
There you go, double dutch.
Speaker 2 (40:56):
Well, maybe we'll move on to something more brighter. Past
is coming up on the next segment. That's a hard
win to transition out of there, Bri.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
I gotta say, I guess Matt Stafford's not going to
greener pastors. He's coming back next season with the Rams.
We'll talk about him winning the MVP next here on
F and A on FSR.
Speaker 1 (41:13):
By God, Bri, you're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (41:18):
That's right hours away from Super Bowl sixty in Santa
Clara with the Patriots taking on the Seattle Seahawks. It
is Kevin Figures and Adam Alton here on Fox Sports
Radio at k fig one is where you can find me.
On next at follow out of May is where you
can find Adam. Adam, Why are you shaking your head?
Speaker 3 (41:33):
I'm just surprised we're still on thought. I thought Breed
might have committed career suicide after that last conversation in
Stranger than Fiction.
Speaker 2 (41:41):
My god, that's gonna be a hard win to transition
out of.
Speaker 3 (41:44):
I feel bad enough. I got the zoo flu over here.
Speaker 8 (41:48):
Come on, it wasn't that bad, you guys.
Speaker 7 (41:51):
The Sarco pod no double Dutch Sarco Podus let's we
forget the double dutch, double dutch.
Speaker 3 (41:58):
Kevin hold me in the double dutch position after that story.
Speaker 2 (42:02):
Please, it's coming up later this hour, we'll speak to
our Fox Sports Radio colleague, Ephrom Salam. NFC champion Ephrom
Salam play with the Atlanta Falcons in nineteen ninety eight,
played in the Super Bowl against the Denver Broncos. Got
a lot to get to with Ephraim. But before we
get to him, we got to talk about this MVP race,
which we've talked about. I won't say ad nausea, madam,
(42:23):
but the last couple of months of the season, you know,
and I remember bringing up, maybe even in October early November, Hey,
Matthew Stafford probably putting up a pretty good case to
be the MVP of the league right now, despite the
fact that the Patriots are playing extremely well. And then
really I think what really closed the gap, and by
the way, Stafford winning the award by the narrowest of margins,
just one first place vote, the fact that the Rams
(42:46):
kind of stumbled towards down the stretch of the regular
season and the Patriots just continued to roll with He
and Drake May's numbers were for the most part fairly comparable,
which ended up leading to the vote being as narrow
as it was.
Speaker 3 (42:58):
I'm glad cooler has prevailed or there was a couple
more voters that were in favor of Matt Stafford because
I think we made the case for him. It just
made more sense. Drake May has had a great season.
It's only his second season, though, and they played one
team or got one victory. I guess a team that
was above five hundred. That team they also lost to
because it was the Buffalo Bills. So it just wasn't
(43:21):
that impressive of a resume when you look at it
that way. I will say this, though, I forget who
was on with us that point out. You know, Drake
May probably doesn't have as good of weapons as Matt Stafford.
I think that's a fair argument. DeVante Adams, Pokinakua. You
can't say he's got Sean McVay, that he was more
(43:41):
set up to have this powerhouse of an offense, and
we knew they probably would be coming into the season
as long as Matt Stafford was healthy and he had
to go through the back and issue with all that,
then Drake May, like Drake May, didn't have the necessary weapons.
I'm surprised Stefan Diggs is still this good coming off
the ACLA, But I don't think he had an advantage
(44:02):
weapon wise. But the schedule is just very meaningful to me.
Speaker 2 (44:06):
I will say that too, because and it's really hard
when you start playing these hypothetical games. But all right,
if the Rams had to schedule the Patriots had who's
the say, Matthew Stafford win that throw for fifty four
hundred yards and fifty five to fifty six touchdowns instead
of forty, you know what I mean, It's like his
numbers could have been way more inflated if the competition
he faced was was easier. But the Rams played one
of the toughest schedules in the entire league in recent memory. Meanwhile,
(44:30):
the Patriots had the easiest schedule in the history of
the entire league this year history of the league.
Speaker 3 (44:35):
The NFC West this season was one of the best
divisions we've ever seen in football.
Speaker 2 (44:42):
Right?
Speaker 3 (44:43):
Did we get three teams that all won twelve games
at least between the Niners, Like that's insane the level
of competition when you have to play all those teams
twice and they had some really close losses by the way,
where Matthew Stafford was still very good and even though
he lost in the Panthers late in the season, even
(45:03):
though there was that Monday night game against the Atlanta Falcons,
overall body of work, I think while it was close,
I definitely leaned towards Matthew Stafford, and I guess that's
how the voting eventually shook out.
Speaker 2 (45:18):
Yeah, I would not have been necessarily upset or like
you know, throwing things across the room of Drake may
would have won, but I would have been disappointed because
I do feel that Matthew Stafford would have earned this
award and for the people because a lot of comparisons
that have been drawn between this Patriot team have been
to the Greatest Show on Turf and their breakout year
in ninety nine with Kurt Warner, you know, because they
say they had one of the easiest schedules in the
(45:38):
in leak history. They ended up winning a Super Bowl
and Kurt Warner won the MVP. So why is that
used against him because there really wasn't any competition. Do
you know who was runner up to Kurt Warner that
year for MVP. His teammate Marshall Falk, so they basically
stole votes from each other, and in third place was
a distant threat. It was Peyton Manning, whose numbers at
that time were nowhere close to what Kurt wan production was.
(46:01):
So this is like a neck and neck race when
it comes to like the individual stat numbers. So then
you have to start getting into the nitty gritty. You know,
who did you play, who was healthy when they played,
who was injured when they played. You know, all that
stuff factors in, which was why it made it easy
for me to say, Matthew Stafford, even though he has
all these weapons, it's playing in a tough division, one
of the toughest schedules in the history of the league,
(46:21):
just opposed against Drake May, who's playing against one of
the easiest schedules in the league. And that's ultimately what
put it over the top for me.
Speaker 3 (46:27):
Granted, Drake May had a great year, it was close.
His offensive line didn't grade out that well either, No,
but the way he threw deep balls with pinpoint accuracy
was really impressive. And if they go on to win
against the Seahawks, he's going to have to be marvelous
out there. He's going to have to have an all
time performance against that defense, and he has risen to
(46:50):
the occasion at times. The Baltimore game with the comeback there.
That may just be on John Harbaugh and the way
things have gone there. But Drake May he is it
is second season, like the future is so bright. Some
probably held that against him, like he's going to have
other opportunities to win. Let's give this one to Matthew Stafford.
Speaker 2 (47:10):
Yeah, I've heard that notion to the people saying that
this is a career achievement award for Matthew Stafford, which
I'll be honest, I don't think it's fair to him
because if you look at this production, leading the league
in passing I think he was second behind May and
passer rating, leading the league in touchdowns. This is not
a charity award for Matthew Stafford. No, he earned this.
He played his ass off. He played his ass off
in the NFC Championship game. You can't say that he's
(47:31):
the reason why they lost to Seattle. They just couldn't
get to stop when they needed to. That wasn't on
his shoulders. So this is far from a copate career achievement.
You know what, it does do is It solidifies him
and I mentioned this in the first segment of the show.
It solidifies him as a Hall of Famer if there
were ever any doubts of whether or not he would
make it. Right now, six all time in passing yards,
He's two touchdown passes behind Philip Rivers for six all
(47:52):
time when it comes to that stat and he has
a Super Bowl victory, so no longer stat Patford. He's
putting up big numbers and it's mattering in games that matter.
He's winning Super Bowls, winning league MVPs. He is definitely
a Hall of Famer at this point. There's no question
about it anymore.
Speaker 3 (48:06):
He's one of the best cases of somebody flipping the
narrative on him. You mentioned stat Padford. Rob Parker came
up with that, and it's it's brilliant.
Speaker 2 (48:14):
It really really is.
Speaker 6 (48:16):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (48:17):
Throw my eyes out about eighty eight percent of Rob's little,
you know, acronyms.
Speaker 3 (48:21):
But that was a good one, and he ended up
getting cooked by it when he continued to doubt stat
Padford throughout his run with the Rams to the Super
Bowl a few years ago. And I think he still
tried to take some of the credit away from him somehow,
go did he? I believe at that time it's like
there's one throwaway from losing, and they had that. They
(48:42):
was so close in some of the games.
Speaker 2 (48:44):
Okay, plenty of all time greats have been one throw
away from losing a super Bowl or a championship or
two or three.
Speaker 3 (48:50):
Yeah, he seems to love to point that stuff out
with Tom Brady all the time. Yeah, he could take
away four Rangers.
Speaker 2 (48:56):
What that throw from Joe Montanna to Clark is about
four inches.
Speaker 3 (48:59):
Too high to swear he was just trying to throw
that ball away, But I do think he was looking
for him.
Speaker 2 (49:03):
I do too.
Speaker 3 (49:05):
But Matt Stafford, he's one of the few guys ever
to get the opportunity to rewrite his legacy, you know,
and he took advantage of it. And I think Sean
McVay could go down as one of the best coaches
ever when all things were said and done. Is he
even forty yet, Like he's got a lot of time
to carve out his legacy as well. And some people
might use that against him. Well, look what Sean McVay
(49:27):
was able to do for Jared Goff. But Jared Goff
also has still been playing at a very high level.
Obviously with Detroit, Matt Stafford independent of the Rams, we
knew they weren't all empty numbers. This was a good
player with a bad organization on a bad team that
if you gave him the requisite weapons with a much
better franchise, he could go on to win it all.
(49:49):
And that was the question mark around him, and he
was able to turn that narrative around, like that's impressive.
Speaker 2 (49:55):
The Rams sold the farm to get him. They knew
that Jared Golf was over. They traded him away a
couple of first round picks and to bring Stafford in
to this offense with Sean McVay, and the results have
been nothing short of spectacular. You know, a super Bowl championship,
an MVP award, knocking on the door of another Super
Bowl appearance, and I'm actually happy for him that he
made the announcement while he was accepting the award they
(50:16):
was coming back for another season. I do not want
to see his spectacular play in Look, why not trying
to go for another MVP award at the age of
thirty eight. You know, there's a trend between him and
Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady all these guys playing into
their forties, playing at a high level, why would you
want to see it end?
Speaker 3 (50:32):
It seems like he's seen the field about as well
as he ever has been. The arm hasn't lost the
strength that we thought maybe was going to happen when
he had the arm issue, and then he came into
this year with the back injury, which was very nebulous
and unclear on just how this would go for him
to put together an MVP season with all that stuff.
(50:52):
With him aging out, we thought like, yeah, you got
to come back and run it back because they've surrounded
him with those weapons we talked about earlier that can't
extend guys careers even though maybe he's not in his
prime anymore. You give him good enough weapons like the Vision,
the REDS, the football IQ. That's all the last stuff
to go. The anticipation that he still has in his
(51:13):
game so he can still look like he's at peak
form even though he's.
Speaker 2 (51:18):
Thirty seven, thirty eight, no doubt. Now here's one source
of controversy when it comes to the MVP vote, because
so we know, as we mentioned, one first place vote
is what separated Drake May from s Matthew Stafford, so
the first. So there were a couple of first place
votes that did go to Josh Allen which didn't have
I mean, he had a great year, Josh Allen. I
think a few people would argue whether or not he
shoul get a vote. I don't think there's really much
(51:39):
issue with that. Yeah, there is one first place vote,
and this is from a former Pro Football Focus writer
who voted for Justin Herbert. Yes, and he admitted that
it was him. He put a post on X on
Friday afternoon, Okay, I put your name up. Yeah, he
put his name on it says I'm the one that
voted for Justin Herbert. I did it because his office
(52:00):
line was terrible, his offensive weapons are terrible. He had
to throw on a cape and be Superman every single
solitary week, and the fact that he was able to
drag that offense into even being a playoff team was
nothing short of spectacular. So that is my justification for
voting him number one on my MVP ballot. I don't
necessarily disagree with the notion that maybe he should have
gotten some first are some MVP votes. I think first
(52:21):
place vote is a little bit rich for me, but
I certainly can understand his line of thinking and doing that,
But basically that was the swing vote. That's what basically
ended up the one vote for the Los Angeles counterpart
quarterback is the one that basically put Matthew Stafford ahead
to be able to win the MVP Award.
Speaker 3 (52:37):
Well, if it took that to get it right, all's
well that ends well, I guess, But it's not that nuts.
Speaker 2 (52:45):
I understand the rationale behind it.
Speaker 3 (52:46):
Yeah, some people did say this during the season. Look
at what he has to do. They lose their two
best offensive linemen. He's getting beat to hell. Most sacks
in the year or most hits anybody's taken quarterback hits
twenty five years or something like that. Yes, there's something
to it.
Speaker 2 (53:03):
I had a broken hand. He played through the last
half of the season.
Speaker 3 (53:06):
Yeah, he was heroic at times. He did elevate his team,
like they would have had no shot to make the
playoffs if he wasn't playing so far above his head
and keeping them above water at the same time. Like
it was impressive. But the problem is, you do have
two other guys that clearly are just playing better. But
you could make the argument, Okay, put justin Herbert in
(53:27):
their situations with those receivers with that offensive line. You know,
it's very circumstantial. As someone loves to say.
Speaker 1 (53:34):
We're trying to bite a Show's true.
Speaker 3 (53:36):
It's totally fair. So I don't it's one guy voting
for him. I'm glad he backed it up and gave
us his logic along the way here, and.
Speaker 2 (53:44):
The logic makes sense. He wasn't just like, oh, I'm
just gonna come in and just muck things up just
for the fun of it, just to mess up the
process like people doing the Hall of Fame voting process
a lot of times. He put his name on it,
he backed it up, and you know it, Like I said,
I wouldn't have done it, but it certainly makes a
lot of sense to me.
Speaker 3 (53:57):
I first thought, did Matt Lennie Smith have a vote
for him? A second?
Speaker 2 (54:01):
Matt Money Smith's proxy for sure.
Speaker 3 (54:04):

If I sound more nazy than usual, it's because I'm
sick battling through, not just sick in the head.
Speaker 6 (55:08):
Warning hurt more than me.
Speaker 3 (55:10):
I got the zoo flu and it hurts Kevin.
Speaker 2 (55:12):
You're playing hurry? What is it? Sam Darnold had the
oblique and Drake May has the shoulder.
Speaker 3 (55:18):
Yeah, and I got this and it's much worse than
anything any football player has ever dealt with in the
history of the.
Speaker 2 (55:23):
Game than you're powering through, you know. Lindsey Vaughn's got
nothing on you, Adam. That's for damn sure. I have
the power coming up in about thirty minutes or so,
one of the best defensive players in the NFL could
potentially be on the move this offseason. So we'll talk
about that. But coming up right now, we got the
Super Bowl sixty coming up obviously on Sunday afternoon. Someone
(55:44):
who has some experience in a situation like this is
going to join us right now, Adam, Let's get to it.
Speaker 3 (55:49):
Alan Drakan did thank you, Doddy well with the Super
Bowl on Sunday. We needed intel from a man that
has played in the Big Game. He lived it, he
breathed it. Didn't have to listen to Big Bad Voodoo
Daddy play at the halftime show as he was in
the locker room with the rest of the Atlanta Falcons
during Super Bowl thirty four. It's our friend and colleague
here at Fox Sports Radio, Ephram Slom Ephraim, thanks for
(56:12):
joining us back here on FNX.
Speaker 6 (56:14):
What's happening man and you just so you know, it
was Super Bowl thirty three. I wish I was in
the Super Bowl thirty before that means I would have
went back to back.
Speaker 2 (56:21):
So let's talk about that from it, because I believe
that was your rookie year. Was it not that you
went to the super Bowl with Atlanta?
Speaker 6 (56:27):
That was my rookie year. It's funny. I was having
a conversation last night with some friends about if I
would have known been what I know now. Like my
rookie I was the youngest player ever to start in
the Super Bowl at the time, and I just thought
it was normal. I thought every year we would be
going to the super Bowl, having an opportunity to go
(56:48):
to the Super Bowl. Boy was I wrong, because that
was the closest I've ever gotten to a super Bowl
in the twelve years I played after that. So it's
one of those things where my nephew is playing for
the New England Patriots, Elijah Ponder, and I was telling
(57:11):
his mom and his dad last night that I was
telling him to cherish it now. He was undrafted out
of Kyle Poly Defensive end number ninety one had a
tremended He's the one they sole a touchdown from. He
picked up the fumble they gave him. The fumble took
the touchdown away from him. Last week in the AFC
(57:33):
Championship Game, but I was just telling them to look.
Number one, don't let the game get too big. Number Two,
take this opportunity as an undrafted player to capitalize on this,
because this is something that could start your career for
(57:53):
you know, ten twelve years, you know, playing games like
this so young.
Speaker 2 (57:57):
Yeah, from And maybe it's different because you were and
wide eyed at the time and it was so cool
and amazing. Because I've asked different athletes this question, and
I get different answers. Once the game, you know, begins,
and all the pomping circumstances over and you're out there
and you're lining up and you know who you're playing, Like,
do you still feel I'm playing in the Super Bowl
or is it just another football game for you?
Speaker 6 (58:17):
No, you don't. You do you feel it the whole time? Yeah,
it's it's intense because number one, it took forever to
get there. The journey you have to go on to
get there is unbelievable, and you can't block the fact.
I remember when they called us out in the starting lineup.
I was running out and all I was doing was saying,
(58:40):
please don't fall, please don't because I couldn't feel my
legs like I couldn't feel my legs running out and
during the starting lineup, and I was just like, please
don't fall on national TV. And then Share was over
their thing and it just was a It was one
of those things where it was surreal the entire time
(59:01):
because this was everything, and as a rookie, I was like, Wow,
I get to be a Super Bowl champion my first
time out, right Like, that was the constant thought. Now
as we started getting the dirt beat out of us
by the Broncos, it started to fade and it just
(59:26):
became how do we get back in this game? Right Like,
it became smaller in terms of the grand stage of
it because we were behind and just trying to figure
out a way to get ourselves back in the game,
which we never did, by the way.
Speaker 2 (59:39):
Yeah, well that was a tough one to take, but
you know, Rod Smith exactly. Speaking of Rod Smith, and
I don't want to bring up bad memories, but I
mean we talked about Gugene Robinson, who gave up a
big touchdown pass in that game, and of course that
was that kind of casted a pall over the weekend
a little bit for you guys. The fact that he
won the what was the Sportsmanship of the Year award
or whatever, and.
Speaker 6 (59:57):
Then the bart Star Man of the Year award.
Speaker 2 (59:59):
Yeah, and then we can find out the night before
that he unfortunately was arrested for attempting to a solicitor prostitute.
Did that have any sort of effect on you guys
mentally your preparation the way that did it throw you
off at all? You know the going into it?
Speaker 6 (01:00:12):
Yeah, it would throw you off if your co host
got arrested on the way to the state to the
station to do this show.
Speaker 2 (01:00:19):
Absolutely, you'd literally be like, what what happening?
Speaker 6 (01:00:26):
It was the way it happened. And then the fact
that he played in the game, I mean, you know
he wouldn't be at his best, you know. Eugene was
a hell of a player, pro Bowl player, played in
the Super Bowl the year before, the year prior with
Green Bay, so he had the most Super Bowl experience
(01:00:47):
on our team outside of our coach Dan Reeves. And
it was one of those situations where I don't think
it was handled properly because we never really talked about
it because it happened the day essentially early morning of
the Super Bowl day, we didn't have time to really
process it. And address it. And then Eugene goes out
and plays in the game, knowing he probably didn't get
(01:01:08):
any sleep the night before, Presley, not with your you know,
your wife and your kids at the hotels you have
to go back to after being booked, it was probably
safe to say that he didn't get a lot of
rest that night. And so it kind of it caught
us off guard all that morning because all the reporters
(01:01:28):
and I mean our hotel was full of every news
outlet and all they wanted to talk about was was
the incident that happened.
Speaker 3 (01:01:36):
I mean, I'm probably not getting busted by a hooker tonight,
but you know, under the influence of too much day quill,
which made me think it was Super Bowl thirty four
instead of Super Bowl thirty three. But I got big
bad Voodoo Daddy right, and Maria Steffan was there, and
who Stevie Wonder was there?
Speaker 4 (01:01:52):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:01:53):
What about what about all the other distractions with the
preparation leading up to it, ephrom and just everybody bug
in you for tickets, friends and family.
Speaker 6 (01:02:03):
Yeah, it was it was something to be old. I
remember that Super Bowl was in Miami, so Miami itself
is a distraction. Okay, so you take a young twenty
two year old kid and drop him in the middle
of South Beach a week before the Super Bowl. It
(01:02:24):
was it was it was something to behold. It was
one of those things, was like, man, I'm glad we
didn't have camera phones back then. You know. It was
it was a lot. It was an excess of fun
and excitement, and then the family aspect of everybody. I
remember my freshman, my freshman high school football coach called
(01:02:50):
me when we were going to the Super Bowl and
left me a VOICEMAX because essentially I just turned my
phone off. It was ridiculous. And he just was like, hey, congratulations,
my wife and I are coming out to the Super Bowl.
All we need from you is playing tickets and Super
Bowl tickets and then we'll find a place to stay.
And I was like, this is my freshman football coach.
(01:03:14):
I'm the one who got you your start in football.
And now, mind you, I only played like half the
season as a freshman. Then they moved me up. So
that that was the level of people who were reaching
out to people I hadn't heard from in years.
Speaker 3 (01:03:28):
Now.
Speaker 6 (01:03:29):
I've been through college and all of that, and he
I hadn't talked to him since then, and he was expecting,
you know, a trip to the super Bowl with the ticket.
Speaker 2 (01:03:40):
It's ridiculous. It's like, hey, remember that one time I
gave you an hoh lator back in third grade. We
have some tickets. It's like one of those.
Speaker 6 (01:03:49):
So you remember we was walking to my mom and
I gave you a ride.
Speaker 2 (01:03:53):
School, right, see from salam joining us here on Fox
Football Saturday. So you know you brought up Elijah Pond,
so you obviously have a little bit of a rooting interest,
and it was a big story this week on a
lot of Tom Brady's former Patriot teammates called him out
saying that, you know, he should be rooting for us.
He shouldn't say that he's neutral. You know, what are
your thoughts on Tom Brady, who is now by the way,
a broadcaster, now an owner, who's part of hiring the
(01:04:16):
Seahawks offensive coordinator to be the new head coach of
the Raiders, So he's probably conflicted when it comes to that,
But just your thoughts on his former teammates being upset
that he's not being a Patriot homer this week.
Speaker 6 (01:04:26):
Yeah, See, that's the problem. Like most guys who retire
like they don't understand the level of responsibility tom Brady has.
Most guys retire and they go off and do whatever
they want to do. And you know, whether you can
be at a you know, a talking head on the
radio or TV, or you going with your life tell
Insurance or whatever. Tom Brady's still in the game as
(01:04:47):
not only an owner, but as a colored commentator on air.
So there's a level of bias. And it goes into
that he's not doing the pregame show where they do
their pick. He's actually calling games. So you can't call
games and be by well, I you know, that should
have been a flag, like you can't be up there
(01:05:08):
doing that on fact. On top of the fact that,
like you said, he did there, they are hiring Clint
Kubiak right for that, the Raiders new head coach.
Speaker 2 (01:05:20):
Right, it can't be official, it's the latter the game
is played, but all signs of point, right, But yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:05:26):
So yeah, he has a different rooting interest in what's
going on. I don't have a problem with it. Guys
in their feelings don't obviously have a lot on their plates,
so yeah, they can still be fin like I'm not
a fan of every team I played on. I don't
root for every team I played on. Now, Tom Brady's
(01:05:46):
a little bit different because he won, you know, six
Super Bowls with New England. But you know, he's moved on.
He's still in the business. He's part owner of a
team in the business. Why would you drum up more
conflict on top of conflict that he's already experienced this
(01:06:07):
year about calling games but also being you know, talking
to teams and figuring out what teams are doing, and
then going and sitting in the owner's box at the Raiders,
and you know, is there a misuse of information as
an owner and as a color commentator, all of those
types of things. Why create more of a story. So
(01:06:31):
him saying I just want to see a good game,
and you know, whoever win, the best team will win.
I'm okay with that. Politically it's the right thing to say.
And for his teammates to not agree with that, it's fine.
He still has a statue out in New England, so
it's fine. He's the only one up there, So that's
(01:06:53):
fine to me. I don't have a problem with that
at all.
Speaker 3 (01:06:55):
He ain't got to sweat it too much. His legacy
will be in tax still you from what is the
for New England winning the Super Bowl as everyone seems
to be taking seattle here.
Speaker 6 (01:07:06):
They got to get pressure on Sam donald Say what
you want. Sam Donalds had a tremendous year, a tremendous
two years. Right. I think he's the only quarterback to
ever win fourteen games back to back years with two
different teams. So people waiting for the proverbial shoot to
fall for Sam Donald They that weight is over. He's
(01:07:30):
proven that he can play in big time games and
make big time throws. And Jack and Smith and Jigba
and him in that relationship with him is dynamic. It's
one of the best in the league we have this year.
And so in order for New England to have an
opportunity in the chance in this game, they got to
make them uncomfortable. They got to make them quote unquote
(01:07:50):
see ghost and put pressure on him and get him
off his spots and make him uncomfortable in the pocket.
For me, that's the only I think, you know, them
being able to run the ball and hold on to
the ball. I know early on their running backs at
Stevenson had been fumbling issues and all of that they
can't turn the ball over. If they turned the ball over,
(01:08:11):
they can't win this game. From a coach, they have
to win, they have to win the turnover battle.
Speaker 2 (01:08:17):
From a coaching standpoint, are you from how much emphasis
or importance do you place on the fact that you know,
Vrabels played the multiple Super Bowls One championships, Josh McDaniels
has coached in multiple Super Bowls one championships, and the
Seahawks staff is fairly inexperienced when it comes to that.
Does that factor into how this game will play out
at all in your mind?
Speaker 6 (01:08:34):
Well, I think in factors in the most in the
second half. Those second half adjustments can win and lose
you the game, whether you make the right ones or
you don't make any that can win you the game.
We've seen time and time again New England go in
at halftime and come out, most notably, you know, against
the Falcons in the Super Bowl and they were down
(01:08:55):
you know what was it, twenty eight to three or
something like that, and they came back and and won
that game. It's because of those halftime adjustments and being
there and having the experience of being there matters. It
really does. Now Seattle. Can you know overcome that if
they make the right adjustments at halftime. See the game
(01:09:15):
the way it's it, don't look at the game the
way it has unfolded. Look at the game coming out
of the second half as it can unfold, right, Like,
what can they do to stop the success we've had
in the first half? And you have to be ready
to counter that.
Speaker 3 (01:09:35):
He from we saw yesterday in the NFL Award Show
or whatever, Matthew Stafford's coming back after winning the MVP.
The voting was as close as its Bens and Steve
McNair and Peyton Manning back in the day. Did you
agree with matt Stafford being the guy holding up the trophy?
Speaker 6 (01:09:52):
Oh yeah, Matthew. You know, I had the pleasure of
playing with Matthew Stafford his rookie year, my one year
in Detroit. But just right then, from an early early
on as a rookie, Matthew Stafford, number one was the leader.
But number two can throw the ball. I mean, he
just was in purgatory for twelve years in Detroit before
(01:10:15):
he got out of there and came and won a
Super Bowl here, so well gets to see just how
dynamical quarterback he is. You look at his numbers, He's
a prolific thrower of the football, can make every throw,
a tremendous leader. I think he had a phenomenal year
and he deserved the MVP this year.
Speaker 2 (01:10:31):
Last one for you from talking about the Hall of
Fame selection that was made during the award ceremony as well,
did you have any issues with any of the guys
that made it. I know there's some people who are
saying like, well, if you're not gonna put Craft and
you're not gonna put Belichick, can you put Brady in?
Can you put Vinetari? What is your thought about the
Hall of Fame and how it affects specifically the Patriot
guys who are now all of a sudden becoming eligible.
Speaker 6 (01:10:51):
Well, I think I think it was a midstep on
behalf of the Hall of Fame in terms of coach
Belichick and then Robert Kraft not making it. They've shown
they've shown the ability to exude excellence when it comes
to winning, when it comes to building a franchise and
(01:11:14):
being ambassadors of the league. Now, of course you got
Spygate and Deflaygates, which there are black marks on the
team and ownership in that aspect, but you can't take
away from what they've done and what they've meant to
the league. Now, you can't not put Tom Brady in
(01:11:36):
on the first ballot like that can't happen. They did
something foolish a couple of years back with t O
when he was up, and to make him wait the
year was a gross dereliction of duty in terms of
his numbers and being a prolific receiver and what he
meant to the game of football. So you can't. I
(01:11:58):
hope they got it all out of their system now
with with Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick, because you can't
do that. You cannot do that to Tom Brady when
he's eligible.
Speaker 3 (01:12:09):
He is He from Salam check him out after the
game on Fox Football Sunday with Mark Willard. He from
thanks for doing this here on f and A on FSR.
Speaker 6 (01:12:19):
I absolutely appreciate you guys.
Speaker 3 (01:12:22):
I love that guy.
Speaker 2 (01:12:23):
Oh, he's the best.
Speaker 3 (01:12:24):
You think he loves us, I think he likes us,
all right, he likes us, he likes us. I will
take it good. Get by you, Bri almost made up
from what you said earlier in that story and straight
with the picture.
Speaker 8 (01:12:36):
So actually it's kind of funny.
Speaker 7 (01:12:37):
So I saw him on Sunday and I, oh gosh,
I saw him on Sunday, and I was like, hey,
are you like free on Friday? And I guess I
said it like that like a He was like, oh, yeah,
I'm free on Friday, and like he did a little
head tilt.
Speaker 8 (01:12:50):
Oh yeah, and so we were playing blonde.
Speaker 2 (01:12:53):
I can't yeah, I can't see you right now, Brie,
but it's like I'm imagining you, like taking your finger
and curling your hair, like, so are you like free on?
Speaker 8 (01:13:00):
Are you free?
Speaker 2 (01:13:01):
And when I go to the movies and grab like
some soda.
Speaker 3 (01:13:05):
Legally abri over here, legally are over here?
Speaker 8 (01:13:07):
And I don't even know why I said it like that.
I was just like, hey, there are.
Speaker 7 (01:13:10):
You free on like Friday, and I don't know, go
to the mall min cheese. But he did it back
with sushi, so oh I had sushi tonight. So he
did it back though, so good. So I should have
like jumped in and been like, oh, can you do
an impression of like a blonde girl? And I totally
forgot God. Yeah, So yes, he does love us and
many talents.
Speaker 3 (01:13:31):
It's writing impersonations dumb blondes. Not that that's the thing anymore.
Can you still say that?
Speaker 2 (01:13:36):
Did I just get you? Just did well? Between between
suicide and had to making fun of blonde people?
Speaker 3 (01:13:42):
I was talking about Reese Witherspoon in a certain movie,
like a particular blonde, a particular character that you know,
made millions of dollars in the box office. It worked
out for them. Is this gonna work out?
Speaker 2 (01:13:54):
Its gonna work out for you?
Speaker 6 (01:13:56):
Played it to me and his money?
Speaker 3 (01:13:58):
I don't know about that.
Speaker 2 (01:13:59):
Don't one man who's made millions of dollars in his career,
but man just can't break through to actually winning games
when it actually matters. Could that be on this horizon
or is he stay input? We'll talk about that coming
up next. FNA on FSR.
Speaker 10 (01:14:11):
If I have offended any Cowboys, any Texans, any horses,
anybody else that would be offended by these comments, I
want to apologize.
Speaker 2 (01:14:19):
FNA Cotton, That's right. It is f and A on
FSR here on Fox Football Saturday. Have you ever wiped
with a piece of dry toilet paper and wondered is
this as good as it gets? It's not switched to
life changing wet extra large flushable dude wipes because wetter
just cleans better. Available at Amazon and at major retailers nationwide.
(01:14:41):
Dude wipes best clean pants down.
Speaker 3 (01:14:45):
I know Raiders fans have needed some of those over
the years watching this team. Max Crosby, what's the latest, Kevin,
he wants out?
Speaker 10 (01:14:52):
Now?
Speaker 3 (01:14:53):
Who assaulting around it? Like Giannis and Dinna Kooma.
Speaker 2 (01:14:56):
Well, here's the thing. So you have rumors and in
the window that's been throwing out out there, and one
of the best in the business, in our colleague, Jay
Glazer from Fox Sports, did an interview earlier this week
where he and basically in no uncertain terms, said that
Max Crosby wants out. He didn't say that yours, but
he basically alluded to the fact that Max Crosby is unhappy.
The fact that the Raiders sat him down the last
(01:15:17):
game of the regular season. Max was not happy about
that was definitely reported on the record. We know that,
and so now there are reports that he potentially wants
to be traded from the Raiders. There's rumors that he
might want to go to Detroit to play for Matt Campbell,
or that he might want to go to the Patriots
to play for Mike Vrabel and interestingly enough, and I
don't know if this was pre planned or it came
upon spontaneously, but Colin Kawer heard here on Fox Sports Radio,
(01:15:40):
actually spoke with Max Crosby on Friday and brought up
the prospect of Max potentially not wanting to be in
Las Vegas anymore. And here is what Max had to say.
Speaker 10 (01:15:49):
It's like, Dan, if you do, Dan, if you don't,
you know, for me, in the past, I've learned, you know,
being too vocal and too involved with trying to make
you know I want this coach or I want this
like and nowadays, you know, especially like, I'm not talking
about stuff.
Speaker 6 (01:16:03):
Like that because that's not my job.
Speaker 10 (01:16:04):
And I've been advised, Hey, I know you care, You're
obsessed with about it. You want to win no matter what, like,
but some you can't control everything.
Speaker 6 (01:16:12):
And I've learned that. So now that I be quiet.
Speaker 10 (01:16:14):
Now now that I'm quiet, now I got random people
making big statements for me, I know my truth. And
when I go to bed at night, I have a
smile on my face because I don't have to explain
nothing to nobody. I'm getting healthy. I'm in the building
every single day. If I'm in this building before six
am and it's dark out, and I am in here
until almost two o'clock, almost eight hours, I'm putting in
(01:16:34):
straight work, rehabbing, lifting, getting prepared for the next season.
Like that's all that I care about, So all the
noise it's news to me. Sometimes I got up two
days ago, I look at my phone and all of
a sudden, now I got a bunch of PR people
talking about what they you know, what Max is doing,
And it's like, I just I just laugh because if
I address it and then someone's going to pick apart
what I say there, So it's a lose lose. I'm
(01:16:57):
just going to keep doing what I'm doing. I'm getting
healthy to be the best version of myself upcoming this year,
and I'm gonna put myself in the best.
Speaker 6 (01:17:04):
Position to do that.
Speaker 3 (01:17:05):
Do you think he's characterizing the situation accurately there, Kevin,
I wish you weren't a liar. No, I'm not saying that.
Speaker 2 (01:17:11):
I'm just asking in some senses, yes, but in other
senses no, the facts yeah, Like, well, it's like people
are speaking for me and things that I never said.
It's possible that he never said or told anybody explicitly
that he wants to trade from the Raiders and that
he wants to leave. He also never denied it in
that clip with Colin Caihard either. Yes he's in the building.
He was sitting in the Raider facility in between workouts,
(01:17:34):
I believe when he was having that conversation with Colins.
So yes, he's in the building. He's working out, which
any player can do during the off season. That's not
a revelation whether you want to be there or not.
So I think what people potentially want to hear is
if you truly do want to be in Las Vegas,
you can very This is like Johannis. You can easily
say I don't want to be traded. I want to
be here. I don't want to go anywhere else. This
(01:17:54):
is where I started my career. I got a Raider
tattoo for a reason. This is where I want to be.
Speaker 6 (01:17:59):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:17:59):
I understand too, you back yourself into a corner if
and when you do something like that, so you're putting
yourself in a tough situation. But you know, he basically
said a lot of nothing other than the fact that
I'm gonna stop talking and stop running my mouth because
people take things out of context. It's really hard to
take out of context. If you say I want to
be a Las Vegas Raider, I do not want to
(01:18:20):
be traded.
Speaker 3 (01:18:21):
Is he above reproach?
Speaker 4 (01:18:23):
Like?
Speaker 3 (01:18:23):
Is he a guy that because he's such a hard worker,
because he's their best player and has been for some
time now, that fans would forgive him if he wanted out.
Speaker 2 (01:18:33):
Yeah, I think he's kind of in the Giannis camp
as a bit of a sympathetic figure for a lot
of Raider fans. You feel like he embodies a Raider
and he has the look, he has the attitude. He
plays already as an under or he's an overachiever, all
of that. But I do think now that you have,
you know, the first overall pick, the team is basically
going to be toren down from his core and rebuilt up.
(01:18:54):
It's probably gonna be at best a two year project
in probably three years. So now you're potentially asking Max Crosby,
who I believe is now twenty eight, to wait until
his early thir early to mid thirties to try to
actually be in a situation where you could turn things
around and win. I don't think Raider fans, and I'll
speak as a Raider fan myself, I wouldn't be upset
if he said he wants to be traded and go
somewhere where he can win. I would want to do
(01:19:16):
that for him. You know, I've told you had times
being an Angel fan and a fan of Mike Trout,
how terrible I feel that they wasted so many of
his prime years. But with the trash teams around him,
I would love nothing more than for a Mike Trout,
even if it's as in an ancillary role as a
role player, to go somewhere we actually has a chance
to play on a big stage and have a chance
to win championships. I feel that exact same way about
(01:19:36):
Max Crosby, so I would not hope that against him.
Speaker 3 (01:19:38):
It's tough to blame anyone for wanting to leave the Raiders. Really,
the Raiders shucked, Like, what was the best team he
was on? That wild card team.
Speaker 2 (01:19:46):
That team that lost to Cincinnati.
Speaker 3 (01:19:48):
Yeah, they beat the Chargers the final game of the season.
There was some awkwardness to look like who was trying
to win that game? They could have tied and both
gotten in.
Speaker 2 (01:19:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:19:58):
I think Max Crosby, he is a badass out there.
He is a wrecking ball, He is a raider. He
does have the look and feels like he should be
there for a long time. But it's like, if you
couldn't get right over the last five six years now
and you're in this perpetual rebuild cycle, which they have been,
(01:20:18):
and they're about to draft a young quarterback. Yeah, I'm
not going to fault anybody for willing to get out
of that situation. He's never going to see the promise land.
Most likely he has to go somewhere else.
Speaker 6 (01:20:30):
To do that.
Speaker 2 (01:20:31):
Now, as bleak as that sounds, and you're probably right,
as much as I hate to admit it, you're right now,
and this will be a mutually beneficial situation.
Speaker 6 (01:20:38):
I know.
Speaker 2 (01:20:38):
I Look, we debated back and forth about Michael Parsons
and whether or not you trade somebody like that away.
I would always rather have a bird in the hand
when I know I have a great player like that
and try to fortify around him. Look, the salary camp's
going up by one hundred million dollars this next year,
so it's like you won't be able to afford him.
But if someone's running to knock your socks off, if
you're the Rams and you have the number thirteenth and
the number thirtieth pick, and you want to trade for
(01:20:59):
mass Crosby. As a Raider fan, I'm not going to
say no. Why the hell not? It helps kickstart three
build even more.
Speaker 3 (01:21:04):
He's one of the best defenders in the league. He's
not on your timeline for whenever the Raiders are going
to be good again. It makes sense to send him
someplace he can win. Now, speaking of trades, the NBA
trade deadline just passed. Who are the winners and losers?
This is fn A on FSR.
Speaker 1 (01:21:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:21:24):
That's right final hour of Fox Football Saturday. Here with
Kevin Figures and Adam Alslin at k fig one is
where you can find me on Twitter, slash x at
follow Adam A is where you can find Adam. We
will have our official Super Bowl picks coming up later
this hour. For sure.
Speaker 3 (01:21:40):
Mine are still going to be unofficial.
Speaker 2 (01:21:43):
Unofficial. Okay, so we're not going to count this against
the tally.
Speaker 3 (01:21:45):
All right, No, the tally you won. You won the
regular season. I don't know where we're at now in
the postseason.
Speaker 2 (01:21:53):
I probably won that toofew Kevin.
Speaker 3 (01:21:55):
I'm sick. I got the zoo flu and you're in
your pilot all ridiculous the zoo flues.
Speaker 2 (01:22:04):
Speaking of the zoo flu, I mean you bring it up.
We got to talk some fn NBA foo before we
dive back into the NFL. Right, yeah, pretty epic NBA
trade deadline, uh this past week, and you are a
mister NBA expert, mister clipper. But before we get to
the Clipper moves, I do want to talk about the
one they call mister Glass aka street clothes, Anthony Davis
(01:22:25):
on the move to the Washington Wizards in a move
that I think is actually mutually beneficial for both teams.
I know Washington's gotten ripped a new one from a
lot of people, but I don't hate it. And the
reason why, if you're Washington and you've been this bad
for this long, how long are you going to sit
there and continue to be terrible and hope that you
get the top overall pick in the draft or at
(01:22:45):
a certain point in time and you just pull the
trigger and say let's try it and see if something happens.
You get Trey Young, who's hurt, who knows when he'll
be back? You get Anthony Davis, who's hurt and according
to Chris Haynes, he's not going to be back this year.
They called me, mister Glass. They traded to first round
pick to the Dallas Mavericks, but one of those picks
was not their own in this June's draft. So if
(01:23:06):
they're terrible, which they are, and it will be a
lottery team, which they will be, they have a chance
to potentially maybe get the top overall pick in the
draft this year, which could be another asset that they
could potentially trade away and turn themselves into contender. Is strong,
but at least be a playoff team, which if you're Washington,
if you're if you're if you're Washington, and you haven't
(01:23:27):
sniffed the playoffs, and god knows how long, I literally
do not know. It has been ten years since have
they made the playoffs since Gilbert Arenas was there on
Karen Butler.
Speaker 3 (01:23:34):
Yeah, because John Wall and Bradley Beal made the plays
a few times.
Speaker 2 (01:23:37):
I was being slightly facetious, but I mean, sure enough,
it's been it's been a pretty it's pretty long drought
there for Washington. So you as the Washington Wizards, not
a destination franchise free agents aren't gonna come there. Unfortunately,
these are the kind of swings that you're gonna end
up having to take.
Speaker 3 (01:23:53):
I get it, they got a good one in Alex Sar.
They want guys to get real reps next to veterans
who have some semblance of an offensive construct, so these
guys can get better and develop next to guys who
have been there and done that to some degree in
Trey Young and Anthony Davis. I don't hate it because
(01:24:15):
the two first round picks going to Dallas are going
to be late first round picks, almost second round picks.
One of them I think is okay C's pick. We're
for the last pick in the first round. I just
the impatience from the ownership group. I worry about stuff
like that because then you end up taking half measures,
(01:24:36):
which only gets you so good, and then all of
a sudden you're not bottoming out, but you're also not
a contender and you get stuck in this place of
mediocrity for years, and that's not the place to be
in the NBA. Now, that doesn't necessarily have to happen
with the Washington Wizards, and they still get another bite
at the apple in this lottery, which is deep. We
(01:24:56):
know that I just don't trust. Look, Day Davis was
going to play sixty to sixty five games next season.
Speaker 2 (01:25:03):
If you can tell me that, give me fifty.
Speaker 3 (01:25:05):
Yeah, if you could tell me that, I would sign
up for this because he is actually the perfect guy
to pair with Trey Young, because Trey Young is so
bad with point of attack defense. AD can clean up
a lot as your last line of defense near the basket.
Like I do like the pairing in theory.
Speaker 2 (01:25:24):
Well, in that screen and role combination, I mean potentially
could be devastating.
Speaker 3 (01:25:27):
Yeah, with Ad he can be picking pop a little bit,
but also rolls to the basket.
Speaker 2 (01:25:32):
It's just and by the way, this is AD on
the back line, not to cut you off. With Alex Sar,
I mean you have a twin tower to the defense
right there.
Speaker 3 (01:25:39):
Alex Sars leading the league in blocks. I guess As
has been that good and that is a great guy
for him to learn from too. It's just how much
is he going to be out there in the court,
Like he's become a caricature of himself and everybody joking
about him being straight close. Yeah, so that's pretty much real. Now,
some of it with Dallas. You want are they really
(01:26:01):
trying to win?
Speaker 1 (01:26:01):
They're not.
Speaker 3 (01:26:02):
They want to get back into the draft and get
another high draft pick because I think they don't have
their own the next two years. This is the last
season they have their own for a little bit. But
Anthony Davis, I've said this before with Blake Griffin back
in the day, Guys who were perpetually injured when they
were younger don't magically become healthier as they age. They
(01:26:25):
become even more likely to have injuries and injury concerns
pop up all over the place. We're talking about a
guy in his prime that was brittle and Anthony Davis,
same with Blake Griffin.
Speaker 2 (01:26:36):
Well, one thing I'll say from the Washington standpoint, it's
not like it sets you back that much. So you've
been terrible for the last couple of years. Anthony Davis
is on the hook for two more years after this.
He has one guarantee year and then a player option
for sixty two million dollars, which I can almost guarantee
he's going to pick up because he ain't sniffing that
on the free agent market.
Speaker 3 (01:26:52):
Do you have some breaking news Anthony Davis just opted
in I guarantee, you might as well say that.
Speaker 2 (01:26:58):
So you go on the next season and see what
happens with him and Trey Young c how it plays out.
Maybe they play well, maybe they don't. If they don't
and it's not working and Anthony Davis is hurt, you
have a sixty two million dollar expiring contract that you
can dump off on somebody, and you can get more assets,
younger players, whatever it is, and then still kickstart or rebuild.
So I think you're kind of you mentioned kind of
(01:27:20):
half measures. I think they're kind of positioning themselves in
a pretty solid spot. Let's see if it works. If
it does, we'll continue this thing. If it doesn't, we
can very easily get out of this. Trey Young has
a player option, so he's gonna be on a one
year deal and going into next year, I think you're
basically gonna have Anthony Davis a one guarantee year and
you can trade his contract the following offseason. So I
really don't see a whole lot of downside here for
(01:27:41):
a franchise like Washington.
Speaker 3 (01:27:42):
Michael Winger, who was underneath Lawrence Frank with the Clippers
as their president of basketball Operations and he's a smart guy.
He originally as was with Sam Presty with Oklahoma City
before that. So I do think there's a lot of
logic in rationale. I don't hate these moves. I just
worry what it could say about ownership and where things
(01:28:03):
could move from there if they just continue to be
impatient like this. This there's plenty of rationale, there's plenty
of logic. I don't hate it. I think it could
end up working out for them where they're playing team
next season. Health defending, that's just I just.
Speaker 2 (01:28:19):
Especially with those two guys, two of the more i'd
say frail players in the league the last decade.
Speaker 3 (01:28:24):
Prety Young's like twenty seven, and now he's banged up
all the time too.
Speaker 2 (01:28:28):
He has the body of a forty seven year old.
Speaker 3 (01:28:29):
Yeah, I and he's small in stature and a lot
of the shooting numbers are starting to fall off with him.
Like he looks like one of those guys that just
doesn't have a long sustained career in the NBA, and
his prime came very early on.
Speaker 2 (01:28:45):
Well, thankfully he signed his extension when he did because
he got paid because he might not have sniffed another
contract that closed Another thing that to me and his money,
that did something similar to Washington was the Utah Jazz,
also getting ready to have a lot of repick this year,
but they swing a giant movie and bring in Triple J.
Jaron Jackson Junior. Look, you'll have that lottery pick that
you can either use or trade. You can sign and
(01:29:07):
trade or potentially keep Walker Kesler. Now, I don't know
how this is going to work between them having Kessler
and Triple J, you know, and marketing all at the
same time, which tells me they're looking to move on
from one of them. Kessler's going to be a restricted
free agent, so they could keep him, or like I said,
they can sign and trade him and get more assets
and try to beef up with more veterans to see
if they can make a run at it. County George
(01:29:28):
looks like a perennial All Star in the making, So
they similar to Washington, although they're younger. I think I'll
feel better about their upside than I do about Washington's.
Right now, they feel like now was the time for
them to go at it. I'm not a fan of
Triple J's contract, but I understand why they made the move.
When they did.
Speaker 3 (01:29:43):
Yeah, there's so much crossover and similarities between him and Marketing.
You wonder is that an asset. Is that a strength
or is it a weakness because they are really versatile
bigs and they can make up for what each other
do out there on the floor, and it keeps more
continuity between lineups and rotations if you always have one
(01:30:05):
of them out there. Everybody knows how those two guys
play and they're so similar. But Walker Kessler, to me,
that's the one I would be looking to hold on
to because it's going to cost you less. Marketing and
Triple J are basically on the same type of deals,
and Marketing's making forty six million this year and he's
(01:30:27):
signed through the twenty eight twenty nine season. Walker Kessler,
you should be able to get for maybe like twenty
five million per year.
Speaker 2 (01:30:35):
And I think how much it can make is capped,
I believe right because of his agent service time. You
can't give him a fifty million dollar per contract even
if you want it one.
Speaker 3 (01:30:42):
You wonder how serious the shoulder injury or was this
season or if it was just well, we're not going
to even try to bring him back because we're still
trying to lose this year because their pick is top
eight protected. If it falls out of the top eight,
I believe it goes to Oklahoma City, so they have
an an incentive to lose, to continue to lose. Cayantay
(01:31:04):
George was bawling at a rate that it looked like
he was an All star, Like he is that good,
like a top fifteen, top twenty type of player this season,
too good for this team. All of a sudden, he's hurt.
And we saw this stuff last year with Utah where
they ended up getting fined by the NBA for injury
report nebulous stuff where guys were out for far too
(01:31:25):
long and it looked like they were just intentionally tanking.
But Ace Bailey was their draft pick. This season, they
won another bite at the Apple, getting into the lottery again.
I would try to move Marketing if I was them.
Speaker 2 (01:31:37):
Yeah, something's got to give. They're not keeping all three
of those guys at the cap numbers are all gonna command.
That's not happening.
Speaker 3 (01:31:43):
Somebody's gonna be on the move. It doesn't seem sustainable.
I like Triple J and his upside a little bit
higher than Marketing because of his defense at the rim.
I mean he won Defensive Player of the Year. Some
people thought that that was you know, and that's should
have gone to Avin Mobley. Talk to our guy, Bob Schmidt,
right uh.
Speaker 2 (01:32:01):
And I feel like his defensive his defensive effective. This
has gone down a little bit the last couple of seasons.
Speaker 3 (01:32:06):
It has, and he hasn't looked like maybe he won't
ever reach his ceiling. But his ceiling is still a
little bit higher than Marketing's in he's a little bit
younger than Marketing, And.
Speaker 2 (01:32:16):
I think playing next to Kesler is a perfect type
of type of center for him to play next to.
Speaker 3 (01:32:20):
Yeah, and Triple J being the stretch big can play
next to a guy like Kesler who has a little
bit of range himself out there. But I just think
of cost control assets, and if you can hold on
to Walker Kessler on a cheaper deal and have him
as your defensive anchor for the next ten seasons, that's
the way I would I would handle this. But teams
are gonna come calling.
Speaker 2 (01:32:39):
They did.
Speaker 3 (01:32:40):
The Pacers did that before they pivoted to a Visa Zubats.
They were trying to see what they could give for
Walker Kessler because it's not like Indiana's trying to win
this season anyway, so bringing in a guy who's on
the IR doesn't matter to them.
Speaker 6 (01:32:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:32:52):
For for Utah, it's like, I think you basically who
gives you the best the best offer? So if Walker
Kesler is probably going to get you a better return
than Marketing. Not that Marketing is a good player, but
you know, Kessler's younger, So who's gonna give me the
best offer for one of these guys? And that's how
we're gonna end up moving forward. So you mentioned the
Indiana Pacers, and this is where we get into your
clipper territory and your zoo flew.
Speaker 3 (01:33:12):
I got it, I got it bad. My head's hurting,
I got the shakes.
Speaker 2 (01:33:17):
Look by the way I understand the it's even more
than just sentimental from a production standpoint. He's one of
the more underrated big men in the entire league. So
it's not like this is just like a fan favorite
who everybody loves off. But this ain't Mark Mattson waving
a towel on the sideline or disrespect to Mark, you
know what I mean. But you could have gotten a
lot worse return than you did from Indiana for trading
(01:33:38):
away someone as good as Zoo.
Speaker 3 (01:33:39):
Oh yeah, I mean they cleaned up pretty pretty nicely,
especially if they end up the interesting first round pick
they got to They got Benedict Mathern from Indiana for him,
but they could potentially get the fifth pick in the
draft this season from Indiana. It's protected one through four
and then ten through thirty.
Speaker 2 (01:33:59):
I've never seen a protection like that before.
Speaker 3 (01:34:01):
By the way, I think the Clippers intentionally asked for
that ten through thirty. So therefore, if it doesn't finish
five through nine and it ends up going to Indiana,
the Clippers still get a first round pick from them
down the line, twenty thirty one, maybe when they're really bad.
Who knows how they're going to be, you know, five
six years from now. So I'd rather have that than
(01:34:23):
it bumps to next season's pick from Indiana because they're
probably going to be really good. Haliburton will be back,
they'll have a Visa Zubos, they're going to make another
run at it in the Eastern Conference. But getting that
opportunity to get into this draft if it falls five
through nine, would be huge for this Clippers team.
Speaker 2 (01:34:41):
So you're being very smart, you're kind of crossing your
figures and hope you have the stat the other day.
What are the odds of them potentially getting that that pick?
Speaker 3 (01:34:48):
It's forty eight percent is the chance that the Clippers
end up with you.
Speaker 2 (01:34:52):
You're knocking on the doors of fifty to fifty here,
So I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:34:55):
It's a coin flip. There's a good opportunity now. Indiana
is probably going to continue to lose here. Viata Zoobots
is currently out with an ankle is issue and he
did have it with.
Speaker 2 (01:35:04):
The Gonna says, show up with a mystery injury on
the injury report.
Speaker 3 (01:35:08):
They have had some guys out. They are more so
than ever U incentivized to take a little bit. So
they're gonna say, don't end up with that pick.
Speaker 2 (01:35:17):
I know his wife just had a kid. They're gonna say,
Zoo's on maternity leave, not paternity leaves. Oh he can't
walk a man, he's still recovering, you know what I mean.
Take as much time as you need there, brother.
Speaker 3 (01:35:25):
I'm I'm kind of heartbroken over this, though in a
way that I didn't think was still possible because I'm
too old for this. S Visa Zoobots is the first
guy in a long time. That left one of my
teams where I feel like this is a changing of
the guard, a new era. It will never be the
same again. When was the last time I think Steve
Smith leaving the Panthers and going to the Ravens.
Speaker 2 (01:35:48):
Steve Smith will tell you don't cry.
Speaker 3 (01:35:50):
I know he he called me a bee because there's
something like that. Tough enough, but I can't help myself
with the Visa Zubos and a lot of Clippers fans
feel the same way. He was the longest tenured Clipper.
He had been there for seven years. Even though he
started off as a Laker, it felt like he was
a Clipper. It felt like he was, you know, raised
as a Clipper with this team because the way they
(01:36:11):
just fleece the Lakers in that train with Mike Muscala.
I even saw this. I just got a notice from
this guy, Big Guppy, and I don't know if this
is a joke or not, but it says it's a
digital flyer that he sent on Twitter to a bunch
of people that says Saturday, February seventh, at seven point
thirty at into a dome. Posters and flowers are highly
(01:36:36):
suggested in Loving Memory of a viza Zoobots La Clippers
twenty nineteen to twenty twenty six, like they're going to
have a candlelight vigital in head. Well, it does say that.
In the digital pamphlet it said he is not dead,
even though it feels like it. This is just to
show our appreciation for Big Zoo. Are people really going
to line up outside of into a dome at night
(01:36:59):
a little bit?
Speaker 2 (01:37:00):
Let's put it this way. If they are, I know
who's gonna be the first person there. Adam Austlin.
Speaker 3 (01:37:06):
All yeah, I'm gonna have a big candle light in
that thing. I love Big Zoo. It's rare for me
to get like this about any player. I think it's
been at least ten years or so, but he's won.
But I also understand the trade.
Speaker 2 (01:37:19):
So there's not going to be a vigil I'm guessing
for James Harden outside of into a dome. No, I'm
not want to move to Cleveland.
Speaker 3 (01:37:26):
I respect James and I think a lot of people
turned around on how they felt on him when he
first came to the Clippers, and he won them over
because he played really well. He was available, he was durable,
played through injuries, a ton like he laid it all
out there as a clipper, nobody should have any issue
with him, and you got Darius Garland for him, so
(01:37:46):
I think they made out like bandits. Honestly, if you
had to lose James Harden of East Zoobots, which seemed like,
you know, a pretty much a long shot a week ago,
you end up with Darius Garland, Benedict Mathern, two first
round picks, and a second round pick. I think he
did pretty well. That's a whole yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:38:06):
And by the way, it's not like you're totally, you know,
bottoming out and being a terrible team, like you still
have Kawhi Leonard, Like you're still talented enough to be
competitive on many nights, I'll put it that way.
Speaker 3 (01:38:17):
The doves on this of Eats Zoobots digital flyer that
I'm seeing right now, Kevin, like, I'm gonna at you
in this just so you can see what the hell
I'm looking at.
Speaker 8 (01:38:26):
Any did you guys do this for Norm Powell?
Speaker 2 (01:38:28):
Because I feel like this was there a vigil for
Norm pal too.
Speaker 8 (01:38:30):
I just feel like there should have been.
Speaker 3 (01:38:31):
We do love normOn Powell, but they ended up getting
John Collins, who everyone in Clipper Nation wanted for so
long that it lessened the blow. But I do still
love normOn Powell.
Speaker 2 (01:38:40):
Do they love John Collinson as much as they did
and then as they do now?
Speaker 3 (01:38:44):
Well, he started off so slow. Immediately people are like,
we should never should have done this. normOn pal is
gonna be an All Star. Yeah, there was a little bit,
but the last six weeks and this Clippers turnaround where
they're eighteen and six their last twenty four games. John
Collins has been spectacular now, so he's living up to
the contract and he's an a restricted free agent at
the end of this season.
Speaker 2 (01:39:04):
I'm thinking of Harden to Cleveland. It's a little bit
of an awkward fit with him and Donovan Mitchell, but
I certainly understand why you make the move, considering Darius
Garland just isn't available, and when he has been available,
at least in the postseason, granted a small sample size,
he doesn't necessarily played well. Now Harden hasn't played well
in the postseason either, but a lot of the burden
is not necessarily going to follow on him at this
point in time to have to be the number one guy.
(01:39:26):
So I'm interested to see what the dynamic between he
and Donovan Mitchell, who reportedly are onto this giant recoupment
push for Lebron James next season. How this all ends
up playing out, I think.
Speaker 3 (01:39:35):
That's gonna happen. I think that's real. I think Lebron
is going to finish off his career in Cleveland. I
mean that's not some new notion or something groundbreaking, but
I think it's very possible. And you're right, because they're
both so IYO heavy, it's going to be some my turn,
your turn. But it's not like Kawhi and James Harden
(01:39:56):
didn't do some of that either. They were able to.
And if Donovan Mitchell was push for this and he's
like extension eligible and he could be a free agent
in twenty twenty seven for Cleveland, well they got to
make him happy. If he wants James Harden, he bring
him in.
Speaker 6 (01:40:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:40:09):
Yeah, So look, what do you have to lose for Cleveland.
You know, you lose Darius Garland who has been available
and is making a lot of money, and James Harden.
You have the right to potentially extend them or not
extend them. See how this run goes this year and
potentially next year, Well, the only.
Speaker 3 (01:40:23):
Thing I'd say that's risky, and there's risks on both sides.
The Clippers bringing in a guy who has had injury issues,
is it could shorten Cleveland's overall window because Darius Garland's
ten years younger than James Harden.
Speaker 2 (01:40:37):
But I like it.
Speaker 6 (01:40:39):
I like it.
Speaker 3 (01:40:39):
I think it works for both sides. I'll be rooting
for James Harden and Cleveland, and I'm happy to see
Darius Garland be a Clipper because if he can stay healthy,
they're in real good shape with reloading, retooling, staying competitive
now while they still don't have a lot of their
picks winning games. And then also they can look towards
the future with some of these young guys.
Speaker 2 (01:40:56):
Have you ever wiped with a piece of dry toilet
paper and wondered, is this as good as it gets?
It's not switched to life changing wet extra large fleshable
dudewipes because weder just cleans better. Available at Amazon and
at major retailers nationwide. Dudewipes best clean pants down. So
controversy surrounding some hires around the NFL. Head coaching hires
(01:41:17):
ten available jobs in this cycle, yet only one minority
was hired. Why is that and is it a symptom
of a larger problem. We'll talk about that coming up next.

the end of our one of the show.
Speaker 3 (01:42:41):
What's Breeze three? The three best ways to take yourself out? Well?
Speaker 2 (01:42:47):
Three? What is breeze three? By the wabor you.
Speaker 3 (01:42:49):
Want to give us a tease? Are you too busy
with the Wingstop?
Speaker 2 (01:42:53):
I did hear about wingstopp?
Speaker 3 (01:42:55):
I'm very good Now she's upset.
Speaker 2 (01:42:58):
Oh wow, guys just airing out what I can't mention
that you're getting wings that you have when we're.
Speaker 8 (01:43:04):
Starting in the morning.
Speaker 7 (01:43:05):
I should not be eating stop says my metabolism in
six hundred pound life and waiting for me.
Speaker 1 (01:43:12):
Give me she can sell frost.
Speaker 2 (01:43:16):
We were talking though about wings and like Wingstop by far,
by far the best I'm really.
Speaker 8 (01:43:21):
Late to the Wingstop party is it is I hate
buffalo wowings.
Speaker 2 (01:43:27):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:43:28):
Tell me what our sponsor is and I'll tell you
that that's a smart man right there? Are they bringing
back Hooters wings me? Because Kevin and I, you know,
back in the day, I know it's like saying I just,
you know, got the Playboy for the articles. But no, really,
really their wings were good.
Speaker 2 (01:43:46):
They actually were very solid back.
Speaker 6 (01:43:48):
In the day.
Speaker 8 (01:43:48):
Okay, the sauce is really good. They still sell the sauce.
Speaker 3 (01:43:51):
We talked about this, it's still the sauce. What was
which sauce?
Speaker 2 (01:43:56):
What does that mean?
Speaker 3 (01:43:57):
You have to be more special?
Speaker 8 (01:43:58):
I think it's like the Buffalo medium?
Speaker 2 (01:44:01):
And where do they sell it? Because I mean most
of the Hooters are closed now.
Speaker 8 (01:44:04):
Right, it's on Amazon. I think my dad gets it,
but like, definitely shut one down. I think there's one
in Long Beach.
Speaker 2 (01:44:14):
There is, there's one in Long Beach.
Speaker 3 (01:44:17):
Hotel, right, Hooters Hotel that's gone.
Speaker 2 (01:44:20):
Okay, I knew that was leaving, but I was still.
Speaker 10 (01:44:23):
There or not?
Speaker 3 (01:44:24):
R ip So next to the Buddy Ranch. Wasn't there
a Hooters on Figaroa. Wasn't it were one by the
Staples Center back in the day?
Speaker 2 (01:44:32):
Oh yeah, that would be Yeah, that that one closed
years ago. That whole complex got destroyed and re demolished
and re remodeled, so there's not even vestiges of that
Hooters anymore.
Speaker 3 (01:44:42):
Here's why their wings were really good, and it's not
about what you think, okay, it isn't get your mind
out of the gutter. Hello, beautiful. They would give you
not deep fried nuggets, boneless wings. They did deep fried
traditional bone in wings that were deep fried on the outside,
so it was like fried chicken, but with different sauces
(01:45:03):
and stuff. It was amazing.
Speaker 2 (01:45:05):
It was very good, Adam. And I would go every what,
I don't know what day of the week it was,
but they would have like bottomless wings or something like
that Wednesdays Wednesdays and we go in and watch an
NBA doubleheader and just you know, and just post up
for a while.
Speaker 6 (01:45:18):
Now.
Speaker 3 (01:45:18):
Maybe I also used to drink back then, and so
Matt is one of the contributing reasons to their wings
tasting much better than anything.
Speaker 2 (01:45:26):
Maybe Michael Phelpson swim a little bit. Maybe it's like
not be modest here, Adam, both of us, both of
us could put it down back in the day.
Speaker 6 (01:45:37):
You know.
Speaker 3 (01:45:39):
Yeah, I used to get some long islands there. They
were cheap and they didn't skip, did no, Maybe a
little too strong? All right, how the hell are you
going to transition it to this subject?
Speaker 10 (01:45:52):
Vin?
Speaker 8 (01:45:52):
Oh, you heard me out for eating wings. Actually, both
of you.
Speaker 2 (01:45:55):
I didn't hear you out. I gave you credit. I said,
I was jealous. I'll be right there with you. Well,
it depends on flavory reading.
Speaker 8 (01:46:01):
I got buffalo and Korean barbecue.
Speaker 3 (01:46:03):
I'm on day quill dangerous amounts and can't be trusted
with what comes out of my mouth right now? Okay,
so I can say what I want, bray, Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:46:13):
There are ten head coaching openings in the NFL during
this coaching cycle and only one minority hier. That was
Robert Salah going to the Tennessee Titan. So of course
that has a lot of people up in arms, saying like, well,
we have all these diversity programs and transitioning programs and
you're trying to link up assistant coaches or prospective coaches
with executives and owners, and what do we have to
(01:46:34):
show for it? Literally? Nothing? Literally nothing, is what they're saying. Nothing.
Say it again, what I mean the way I look
at it, Adam, I was like, is it a problem?
Speaker 6 (01:46:43):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (01:46:43):
But is it because the owners are racists and trying
to hold the black man down? I don't think so,
does you? Said?
Speaker 3 (01:46:49):
Double yes?
Speaker 2 (01:46:50):
I was like thousand percent, But I do think what
it stems from and so like, what direction is the
league going in? And we've talked about this, the CEO
versus you know, who you hire as far as there's
a specialty on one side of the ball. You have
some defensive coaches. We have two defensive head coaches in
the Super Bowl right now. But the higher du jour
over the past few years has been the young hot
(01:47:12):
shot offensive mind, offensive coordinator, offensive play caller. Well, how
many black offensive play callers, offensive coordinator's, quarterback coaches are there?
Speaker 6 (01:47:21):
No?
Speaker 3 (01:47:22):
At least one I could qui And this guy apparently
hasn't interviewed.
Speaker 2 (01:47:27):
Well, yeah, Eric the enemy. Yeah, he's the only one.
And he wasn't even a play caller, by the way,
he wasn't a play caller with Andy Reid when he
was in Kansas City before he was the OC. But
Andy called the place. So that's you know, and whatether
it matters now? He did get head coaching interviews, many
of them, but obviously nothing ever came of it.
Speaker 3 (01:47:44):
So Andy Reid, you're telling me was not holding a
menu for Daddy's. That was an actual I'll tell you
that's a low blow.
Speaker 2 (01:47:52):
I do like after Kansas City, I think is when
they won their first Super Bowl and Peter King was
the interviewing him. He was like, what it was the
first thing he did after the game, Andy re said
he wouldn't got a couple of cheeseburgers. Like love, Andy Reid,
I love? That was just that was that, you know what?
Speaker 3 (01:48:08):
That was a stupid joke that a lot of people
have made over the years. He's holding the menu there.
Whatever works come on.
Speaker 2 (01:48:15):
So I think the problem is more than anything. It's
not about because owners are the formulas kind of in place.
You know, you have these search committees. These guys are
attached to certain coordinators. You have a certain look or
a certain vibe that you're that you want your head coach,
and a certain skill set and the skill set du
jure is the young, hotshot offensive offensive mind. And I
look at us. I looked. I use Sean McVay as
(01:48:36):
a perfect example. People talk about these coaching trees. Look
at Sean McVay and look at all of the offensive
assistants who have gotten jobs, Zach Taylor, both of the
Lafleur brothers now, Kevin O'Connell, Liam Cohen and by the way,
take a wild guest, now that Matt Lafloor has taken
the job of Mike Lafloor is taking the job at Arizona.
Take a wild swing as who the new offensive coordinator
(01:48:57):
forms for the Rams is likely to be. Kingsbury, another
one on mcvay's boys from back in the day.
Speaker 3 (01:49:03):
So you're saying mcveigh's the one who's racist.
Speaker 2 (01:49:05):
I'm not saying mcvay's racist, but it is very insular.
You have people who come from certain backgrounds, with certain
schools of fought and people are kind of unwilling to
kind of rock the boat and bring in new and
different ideas. And by the way, this goes to Andy Reid,
a lot of people were saying, why would you bring
back Eric Bienemy when your offense has been so stale
the last couple of years. Maybe you're bringing somebody from
(01:49:26):
outside the family, just to shake things up a little bit,
a little bit more, get some fresh eyes on it,
get some fresh eyes.
Speaker 6 (01:49:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:49:31):
So it's it happens to a lot of these guys
because and what ends up happening is you fall back
on the guys that you're friends with, of the guys
that you feel most comfortable with, and that's a little
bit of an issue. So I think that's the issue
that we're running into more than anything else.
Speaker 3 (01:49:46):
So you think, is it safe to say there could
be a problem. But it's not as simple as just
they have to hire more African American head coaches.
Speaker 2 (01:49:56):
Like this start pipeline.
Speaker 3 (01:49:58):
Yeah, this starts with the lower levels because those are
the guys that are working their way up and eventually
getting hired, and they tend to be on the offensive
coordinator side.
Speaker 2 (01:50:07):
Yeah, and look there's you look at some of the
past you know, blackhad coaches. The great majority of them
and I mean like eighty plus percent have been defensive minded.
I mean you go back to Jim Calwell, offensive minded
head coach, who, by the way, was successful. He took
the Colts to the Super Bowl. People forget that.
Speaker 3 (01:50:22):
Yeah, I know that was the day a perfect season.
Speaker 2 (01:50:24):
They almost had the perfect season, and they rested their
guys and got you know, but they got to the
Super Bowl. That was the Tracy Porter breed, you know, championship.
Congratulations to your Saints.
Speaker 3 (01:50:32):
Yeah, wait a second, they didn't lose that super Bowl.
That super Bowl win doesn't even count. That was bounty gate.
Speaker 2 (01:50:38):
Let it go, all right, whatever you say Elsa. But
we so we go from Jim Callwell then who went
to Detroit by the way and has success there, ends
up getting fired because Peyton Manning's arm, you know, or
ends up getting fired there, and there's a playoff game
they should have won. The old controversy around the flag
that was thrown against Dallas and it was picked up mysteriously.
(01:50:58):
That was Jim Caldwells Detroit Lions, I believe so, and
never got really a fair shot after that. Dennis Green
did great with the Minnesota Vikings, got a second shot
with Arizona that one didn't go so well. And Anthony
Lynt I thought, did a solid job with the Chargers
and because of like has affected every Charger coach the
last twenty years, injuries and bad luck is the reason
why he lost his job.
Speaker 3 (01:51:19):
Yeah, there's a common denominator there. The Chargers are actually cursed,
like They're the one team that you can make that
statement and I'm not even going to question it.
Speaker 2 (01:51:28):
So, I mean, so's there's not been There have been
some opportunities, but there has not just been a lot
of opportunities for the very few black offensive minded assistants
that there have been Byron Leftwich, I believe interviewed for
the Buck's head coaching job or a head coaching job
at one point, fell out of favor with that, and
I don't even know if he's in the league as
an assistant anymore.
Speaker 3 (01:51:47):
At this some we're saying, how does Philip Rivers get
an interview with the Buffalo Bills and not someone like
Byron Leftwich?
Speaker 2 (01:51:56):
I mean, yeah, and I think that's a legitimate quest.
Byron left was a quarter of coach. Philip Rivers got
pulled off of his couch. I know he was coaching
high school, but with all due respect, it's freaking high school,
you know. Yeah, comes in plays in the NFL, and
all of a sudden he's getting hit coaching jobs.
Speaker 3 (01:52:11):
He's with Dion Colorado Brook.
Speaker 8 (01:52:13):
Yeah, he's an assistant coach.
Speaker 3 (01:52:14):
I didn't know that.
Speaker 2 (01:52:15):
Okay, good, well, good baby.
Speaker 3 (01:52:16):
That's why he's not getting the shop interview right now
after the year they just said.
Speaker 2 (01:52:20):
Seeon's rotting a lot of former players, black players, by
the way, to his credit to be assistants on his
staff at Colorado. So yeah, all power, all credit in
the world to Deon Sanders. Now they just got to
get some some better production there on the field out
there and Boulder. But it's not as if you can't
tell me that there just are many black guys who
are not interested in being offensive coaches. That's obviously ridiculous,
(01:52:43):
no doubt. It's just you have to get a pipeline
available and get these guys opportunities as assistants. You have
to be able to pump up. There's a lot of
guys who have been like running backs coaches. You know,
Rodney Pete, our colleague, his brother Skip has been a
running backs coach for twenty years or whatever. I don't
know if he has aspirations of being a coordinator or not.
But you see a lot of guys in his position
who have been positioned coaches and never really get the
(01:53:04):
bump up. Now, is that because they don't want it
or is that because they just aren't getting in the opportunity.
And if they're not getting the opportunity for the bump,
that's the question we need to be asking. We need
to go beyond or take half a step back and
stop talking about head coaching positions. Why aren't these guys
getting coordinator positions?
Speaker 3 (01:53:19):
And it looks like Roger Goodell in the NFL. They're
trying to get a grasp on what's happening.
Speaker 6 (01:53:25):
Here, evening commission.
Speaker 3 (01:53:28):
It's not lost on them. It's not being rushed under
the rug or anything like that. That seems to be
a high priority in figuring this out. And it makes
sense when seventy percent of the players, is it, are
African American in the league. There should be more African
American head coaches.
Speaker 2 (01:53:42):
Well, they've had so many programs that versionary programs. They
were incentives. If you hire a black offensive a black
offensive defensive coordinator, head coach, or general manager, you get
draft compensation for that, so they'll give you a compensatory pick.
So it's almost basically like, if all things were equal,
we're actually gonna compensate you if you hire a minority.
We can get into arguments of affirmative action and all
(01:54:03):
that if you want, But I mean, there are incentives
that are in place to be able to try to
empower teams, to give them the opportunity to try to
get more black people into those situations or minorities in
general into those roles, and for whatever reason so far,
now that program started in twenty twenty twenty two, So
about four years ago and then for whatever reason, it
was paused this past offseason. Roger Goodell says they're going
(01:54:27):
to add some tweaks to it and then reintroduce it.
But I'm not gonna jump up and scream on the
table and say that everybody's racist. But I'm also not
gonna bury my head in the sand and say that
there isn't an issue, because it definitely is.
Speaker 3 (01:54:38):
Yeah, I think it's valuable to look into and I'm
glad they're at least taking those steps. We'll see what
happens next. But you know, every year is different. We
tend to talk about this every couple seasons. It feels
like Kevin, but this is definitely one of them. There's
only three current head coaches that are African American now
(01:54:59):
now obviously Mike to almost step down.
Speaker 2 (01:55:01):
Yeah, And even if you were to throw Tomlin back
in the mix, what do they all have in common
other than being black defensive guys. They all have defensive
backgrounds or all defensive coordinators, which historically the thought is
you don't have to be as intelligent or as crafty
for defenses, and it's aggressive. It's not a thinking man's position.
That's the stigma that gets attached.
Speaker 3 (01:55:20):
To us considering the offenses in this league. I think
you've got to be very brilliant to be a defensive mind.
Speaker 2 (01:55:25):
Yeah. I mean, I'm with you to a certain degree.
But there's just a different aura around being a quarterback
or offensive guru than it is being a defensive guru.
And the ownership and the hiring process has shown you
that you.
Speaker 3 (01:55:37):
Know who has aura. Oh, we're going to close things
out with Breeze three coming up next, and then we'll
give our Super Bowl picks as well. Final segment of
the f and a takeover of Fox Sports Radio is
coming up. I met a Bossilis. Kevin figures.
Speaker 2 (01:55:52):
This is FSR.
Speaker 1 (01:55:55):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:55:58):
This place is dead anyway, Man, FNA COTTONNA.
Speaker 3 (01:56:03):
It's got multiple meetings there. Welcome back in. It's fn
A on FSR. I'm out of Osleni's Kevin figures. Final
segment here before we get to our Super Bowl picks.
Speaker 6 (01:56:13):
Not one. But it's entertainment.
Speaker 1 (01:56:20):
It's good. It's Breeze three.
Speaker 8 (01:56:25):
We got breathe alrighty guys.
Speaker 7 (01:56:26):
So earlier this week, Roger Goodell announced that they were
going to be expanding games, like there's gonna be nine
international games this coming season, so including Paris, Madrid, Brazil,
and Australia.
Speaker 3 (01:56:38):
They gotta drink somebody else's milkshake. They got to keep expanding.
Speaker 7 (01:56:41):
They got to keep expanding because you know, a lot
of people at these countries really really care.
Speaker 8 (01:56:45):
About the NFL. Okay yet, but they will they pair supposedly.
Speaker 7 (01:56:49):
So I thought, Okay, if you can travel anywhere in
the world to see an NFL game, I mean, I
don't really know how many how many of us would
actually but if we did want to travel and like
kill two birds with one stone, because.
Speaker 8 (01:57:00):
I kind of want to go to Paris to see
the Saints.
Speaker 2 (01:57:04):
Like one stone, Like you know, the wife and I've
talked about going to France because neither of us have been.
It will be nice if we can, you know, catch
a catch an NFL game on a fly by while
we happen to be there watch then dare you.
Speaker 8 (01:57:18):
That was cool?
Speaker 2 (01:57:19):
Have a bag yet or two? Yes?
Speaker 1 (01:57:21):
A bad yet?
Speaker 8 (01:57:22):
Oh my gosh, oh, I'd be so happy.
Speaker 3 (01:57:24):
Kind of looks like a football.
Speaker 8 (01:57:29):
So always. So that's so that those were my that's
my breeze. Three of like if you could go anywhere
in the world to see a game.
Speaker 3 (01:57:34):
Where would you go a football game?
Speaker 2 (01:57:36):
Game?
Speaker 7 (01:57:37):
Okay, okay, So my first one I went to Czech
Republic just because like Game of Thrones and I think
it'd be really cool to like build a stadium with
like the castles in the background.
Speaker 8 (01:57:47):
Because you've been there, right, right, keV, did you go
to the.
Speaker 2 (01:57:49):
Check I've not been in the Czech Republic.
Speaker 8 (01:57:51):
You went to Croatia. Oh you know what, I'm talking about? Croatia.
Speaker 3 (01:57:54):
Which place had the red light district?
Speaker 2 (01:57:55):
Which one was? That is Amsterdam?
Speaker 7 (01:57:58):
So that was one of and I actually I think
talking about Croatia, not Check Republic, So I already messed
that up. Then Iceland was my second one. I think
it'd be really cool to play in really like cold conditions.
I thought that'd be super fun. And then the third one,
I went Barbados, so it'd be like very tropical. Yes,
so I'm hot cold, And then Game of Thrones.
Speaker 3 (01:58:17):
All right, so yeah, who's up next?
Speaker 8 (01:58:19):
Mark, You're up?
Speaker 9 (01:58:20):
So the first thing I thought of was Turks and
Caicos Island.
Speaker 2 (01:58:25):
I have no idea.
Speaker 9 (01:58:26):
I've only heard that mentioned. It's a great destination for vacations.
People go there for various reasons. And then the second
place I thought was, I've always wanted to go to Italy,
so I just picked Naples to go to Naples, Italy
for a football game, so whatever. And the last place
I thought of is just so they could be a
Godzilla tie in, we can go to Tokyo, Japan.
Speaker 6 (01:58:48):
Nice.
Speaker 3 (01:58:49):
You know, I just watched shin Godzilla on HBO. Pretty good.
Came out in twenty sixteen. It's all from the perspective of,
like the government, who's very realistic take on Godzilla, what
you would do in that situation. I'm sorry my game
sidetracked down.
Speaker 2 (01:59:02):
Did the star of the movie die in the first
five seconds?
Speaker 3 (01:59:04):
Now, Brian Krasten wasn't in this one? Okay, the Summers
with the Stars Godzilla by the way, who also wasn't
in that movie? Very much.
Speaker 2 (01:59:15):
I'm gonna go with France too. I mentioned that a
little bit earlier in this segment. Obviously, that would be
a great one for me. The Melbourne, Australia, I know
that's on the DUTs on tap. They announced last year
that the Rams are going to be playing. They announced
earlier this week that they're going to be playing against
the forty nine ers, and I guess they gave up
that home game. And is it really a home game
when the Rams are playing the forty nineers at so far?
I mean, it's basically a forty nine er home game,
So I would have given it up too far with them.
(01:59:37):
So yeah, going to it to Australia would be great,
despite the eighteen hour flight or whatever the hell it
would be. It seems I could be well worth it.
It's very beautiful out there and this isn't a place.
But I mean, if they could play college basketball games
on an air for aircraft carrier? Can they play football
games on aircraft here? Can I see that? Can the
carrier be actually, you know, going through the ocean as
the game is being played. Is that possible?
Speaker 3 (01:59:57):
What's the yardage on an aircraft carrier. It's got to
be a.
Speaker 2 (02:00:00):
Hundred yards, I would imagine, so right.
Speaker 3 (02:00:01):
What about the width though?
Speaker 2 (02:00:02):
There could be that's the thing that could be an issue.
If a guy trying to, you know, dive on the
sideline for for a ball, he might have fallen too.
Speaker 8 (02:00:08):
The Pacific, Jefferson might be like trying to catch something.
Speaker 3 (02:00:11):
And then all right, I got Brazil, just the Amazon jungle,
just like, just drop a game in there, because I
noticed Auson Stadium where the Ducks play. It's just in
the middle of a forest. Is beautiful, It's amazing. I'd
love to see that in a more tropical setting. And
then also, I don't know if I can claim this
one like the moon, Why can't we play zero gravity football? Okay,
(02:00:36):
I wouldn't that be fun.
Speaker 2 (02:00:37):
Adam's hanging with Elon Musk up there right.
Speaker 3 (02:00:39):
Yeah, give me my SpaceX or whatever. We'll make it happen.
And then finally, because the Kings are getting it done,
Sacramento deserves a football team. They deserve to see some
real sports right now. They used to have in the
United Football League, the Sacramento Mountain Lions. And I'm from
sack Town. And guess who was the head coach of
(02:01:00):
that team, Kevin speaking of uh, not enough African American coaches.
Speaker 2 (02:01:05):
Okay, I was gonna say Bill Belichick, so not him.
Speaker 3 (02:01:08):
It was Dennis Green. I mean, that's awesome it is.
They had that team for I think four years. The
United Football League lasted four years. That's kind of crazy.
Speaker 2 (02:01:18):
Yeah I did, right, Yeah, super Bowl predictions there Adam,
what do you got are we going spread to let's
go spread. Seattle is a three point favorite, three and
a half point fait.
Speaker 3 (02:01:26):
That's it, all right, that's it. How am I not
taking Seattle mist three and a half.
Speaker 2 (02:01:31):
I've heard a lot of people going on the patriot side,
but not really.
Speaker 3 (02:01:35):
Good Jack and Matt Damon.
Speaker 2 (02:01:36):
Maybe I also have the Seahawks by three and a half.
They're going to win the Super Bowl, Sam Donald, MVP
Project and Il coming up next on FSR
