Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Yes, living the dream
once again on a huge NFL Sunday. It is Fox
Sports Sunday, Hartman and Oramburger Company Alive from the guy
go Fox Sports Radio Studios. Fifteen minutes could save you
fifteen percent and more on your car insurance. Is a
guy got dot com for free rate? Quote? Eight games
(00:22):
about to kick off around the National Football League. The
big story of the day rich Ormburgers haircut, first one
since this pandemic started. How long had it been since
you had had a haircut? Nearly eight months if not more. Wow.
I mean it was like sharing a sheep is basically
(00:43):
what it was, right, Yeah, I mean, honestly, you can
make a beautiful tapestry out of some of the lettuce
they shedd it from my melon. This was I feel lighter,
I feel more streamlined and aerodynamics. I figure I'll fit
better in my helmet this season. I'll that's right. I
don't play anymore, but I get to watch all eight
(01:03):
games sitting next to you for the next four hours.
One thing, we have a couple of things about today's show.
Gavin's not here today. He was supposed to go to
Hawaii instead, he's vacationing in the o C. All right,
So I mean, if you can't go to the Big Island,
you gan go to MAUI go to the o C.
So that's what he is. We got bow in today.
Bow is gonna be producing bow. It is good to
(01:23):
have you, and uh, are you ready to be on
air bow as much as we are. You understand that. Yeah, yeah,
you know, I'm I'm excited to be here. It's gonna
be a lot of fund Yeah, he's yeah, it'll it'll
come through, don't worry. Yeah, I'm sure it will. Absolutely.
Of course I was. Sam is always hanging out ready
to roll. Uh, no chicken salad, no brownies, no ribs.
(01:49):
The problem was our four folks. As we're making that
final turn, we started to get a little sluggish. So
we said we're coming here like hungry dogs and we
are going to hunt all day long. Yeah, it's a
diet Sunday. Gascon I also said he needed to detox
for a week. We're just kicking off right now. A
couple of big games that we're watching, The Battle of Undefeated.
(02:12):
It's the Rams after their impressive blowout on the road
against the Eagles last week. On the road against a
Bill's team that has actually exceeded the hype, especially Josh Allen,
who's completing get this, seventy of his passes through the
first two weeks. That's been the knock on Josh Allen.
He's got legs. He certainly showed some improvement last year,
but at least two games in he's gone next level
(02:34):
this year and real quick on Allen. Uh. A humble
leader is exactly what you want for an NFL football team.
You want somebody who's gonna take criticism, and you want
somebody who's gonna lead by example. You want somebody who's
gonna be vocal and have everybody believe in. And you
got a singletary out of the backfield saying, look, he's
the general we've been waiting for. Everybody listens to this guy,
(02:55):
and he's constantly trying to improve this offseason. One of
the things inting trading for Digs and getting him on
the outside was we need to improve the downfield game.
And they worked on his throwing and they worked on
his accuracy and it's showing up in in the early
weeks of this NFL season. Yeah, they're throwing the ball
in Buffalo right now and first pass incomplete. They're another
(03:17):
undefeated team, the Raiders, who offensively have surprised a lot
of people so far. Jacobs have given him a legitimate
running game carrying over from last year. That's certainly opened
up things for Derek Carr. And they're gonna be tested
today because they're on the road against the New England Patriots,
who you know, we're able to show offense against Seattle,
but unfortunately Russell Wilson just destroyed them last week. Close game. Obviously,
(03:41):
Cam Newton had a chance and one of the worst
play calls we've ever seen on that. I don't know
what was that a sneak but from two yards out
it was a design run obviously, but it got stuffed. Um,
it was just a planned quarterback carry that Seattle had
the perfect play call at the goal line, designed for
They slanted every is seen win their defensive lineman the
(04:02):
way of the play. Uh. The lead blocker was undercut
by Adams from the safety position and so Cam had
nowhere to go. He was upended. And they've been going
to that well a lot at the goal line. Uh.
And they've had a lot of goal line moments early
this season, So I agree with you. Maybe a poor
play call on the last Just imagine if he had
taken one step forward a little pop pass, it would
(04:24):
have been wide open. All right. New England three and
out on their opening drive. So the Raiders are going
to get the ball starting at their own thirty yard line. Also,
Buffalo is punting into the Rams, so we're gonna see
how those teams fair. Here's another interesting game. The Minnesota
Vikings easily the most disappointing team the first two weeks.
They were humiliated last week. Kirk Cousins had probably the
(04:45):
worst game he's ever had. Are the Vikings that bad? No, No,
they're not. As a matter of fact, I believe that
the Vikings will rebound at some point. They're an underdog
at home to Tennessee. This game open and picked him.
It went to two and a half Tennessee deservedly, So
I I really I don't. I don't see or I
(05:05):
haven't seen much out of the first two weeks. And
so you know that Betters especially are going to pound
the Tennessee Titans. They may not turn it around here,
but again, with expanded playoffs and a team that you
know like all these teams who may be more affected
by not having a post or a preseason. You could
see the Vikings rebound and be in the playoff conversation
(05:27):
towards the end of the year. But it's got the
Bucks gotta stop somewhere. So it would be nice if
they figured it out against an undefeated Tennessee Titan team
at home. Impressive for the Raiders. First play of the
game for them offensively, just a straight hand out to
Jacobs and he picks up twelve yards right through the
middle of that New England defense. So impressive through his
(05:47):
first one and a half seasons in the NFL so far,
and it's really not even one and a half. I mean,
the guy is just nearly eclipse sixteen games as a
running back. But he runs hard between the tack he
can break away on the outside. Uh, the Raiders drafted
a great one in the first round a year ago
and Jacobs. Yeah, Derek Carr throwing in the Stefan Gilmore area,
(06:12):
that's always a risk. Almost throw a pick right there.
I mean, when you look at Gilmore, last year's NFL
Defensive Player of the Year, it doesn't happen very often.
Then you see defensive backs win that award. Um, that's danger,
that's always there. I mean, he is that good. If
I'm building a team, obviously, I'm worried about my quarterback first,
and then I'm moving on down the line to a
(06:34):
pass rusher next, and then it is not even closed.
A great cornerback, somebody who could shut down one side
of the football field is where I go next. And
Gilmore can absolutely do that. You can leave him on
an island against anybody in the NFL playing right now,
and you can guarantee they're gonna have a tough day
against him. He is an absolute Uh. He's almost peerless
(06:58):
right now. And the NFL's he is the best at
what he does. Uh. And I see a Jalen Ramsey
uniform on Boa today. Sorry, Ramsey is not in the
Gilmore class at this point. All right. The Rams, Now,
this is a team that was in the Super Bowl
a couple of years ago. Last year they sort of
fell apart. They got rid of a lot of pieces.
(07:19):
Talk Gurley gone, Brandon Cook's gone. Big question was after
Jerry Goff's numbers felt a lot last year, would he
ever really recover from that horrific performance he had in
the Super Bowl against New England. But so far the Rams. Yeah,
they may have looked out a little bit against the Cowboys,
but they just throttled the Eagles last week. The Eagles
(07:42):
are in trouble. That's a knowing two team will get
to in a moment because they're playing in an early
game as well. Uh. That has a lot of struggles
up front on the offensive line, injuries on the wide
receiver end, as it appears to be the storyline every
single season for the Eagles. Some years they overcome it,
some years they don't. But that often is struggling back
to the Rams, though, this is a much improved offense
(08:04):
because of the same issues that the Eagles are having
this year. The Rams have last year a patchwork quilt
of multiple sets of offensive lineman due to injury. Jared
Goff never looked comfortable and in the off season they
made some changes. They bring in an offensive coordinator and
Kevin O'Connell, who's also your quarterbacks coach. He's been working
with Golf every single day, showing him how to better
(08:27):
uh compose his body and throw on the run because
they roll that pocket a lot, and also helping him
learn to throw under pressure when there's trash in the
pocket and it's not perfect. How are you going to
keep your mechanics together? Early goings? It's looking really really
improved for golf alright, so far we got a couple
of field goals. The Titans opening drive against the Vikings,
(08:49):
they get a field goal Tannehill for for four or
fifty nine yards on that opening drive. And I believe
we just had the forty Niners with a field goal
as well as the forty Niners. Here, let's make sure
I got all these games straight. I gotta get my
bearings as we just skip this day started here again,
we have eight games, which is actually a downgrade. Um.
(09:11):
So the forty Niners taken on the pathetic New York Giants.
Uh And yes, the forty Niners do get a field goal,
Robbie Gould fifty two yard field goal is good. So
three notting forty Niners early in that game against the
Giants team that uh wow. In fact, the whole NFC East,
I know, the Washington football team came back and just
(09:33):
that opening game against the Eagles was unbelievable. Eagles were
up seventeen nothing and then got blitz creaked. But when
you look at the Washington Football team. The Cowboys really
got a gift last week against the Atlanta We're still
trying to figure out why the Falcons don't know the
rule about an on site kick that you don't have
to wait ten yards for the ball before you following it.
(09:54):
They had three guys literally standing. All they had to
do was dive on the ball over when you have
when you're coach, that's where it shows up, right. We
talked about time out usage, end of half ended game,
we talked about situational football, end of half ended game,
and it was clear Dan Quinn and his team with
this abbreviated preseason did not rep that play enough with
(10:17):
their hands team, with their onside kick team, and and
the Dallas Cowboys and Mike McCarthy did. That's how coaching
can lose you games. And that's exactly what happened against
Atlanta for the Dallas Cowboys. Uh, they looked excellent in
the comeback, but again like a sieve in the first quarter,
just giving up touchdown after touchdown after touchdown. Yeah, twenty
(10:39):
nothing Falcons after one quarter. At the halftime, we were
joking when Dallas scored to start the second half. Well
It's not like the Falcons have ever blown a big
lead before, and it was like they did it again.
All right, when the guy go Fox Sports Radio studios,
still waiting for our first touchdown of the day. Of course,
we're also always waiting for our first missed extra a
(11:00):
point of the day. You know, this time last week,
we'd already had like ten touchdowns. Yeah, it was like
it was just kind of yeah, it was the defensive
of tighten up so far. Will continue the best coverage
of the National Football League right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Coming up next. The Bengals got stopped on third and two.
(11:20):
We'll see if the defense can get a stop on
third and three. Wentz from the pocket throws the accepted
at the forty five yard line. It was deflected and
picked off by rookie linebacker Logan Wilson. He had ten
interceptions in college and he has his first in the NFL.
Al right, Bengals Radio networks, So things are going bad
(11:41):
to worse for the Eagles. Um, what do you make
of Carson Wentz? Is this salvageable? Because the biggest knock
on wins, and this goes back a year ago, was
that he was not popular in the locker room. I mean,
when you're a quarterback and you're not a guy that's
respect active for whatever the reasons, maybe in your old
(12:02):
locker room, that makes it tough, right and and look
those who are stories and a lot of that speculation
was squashed um by players advocating for Carson Wentz. Don't
get me wrong, Every locker room has their issues. I
think they are overblown usually in the media, unless there's
a guy who truly wants out. And then in that case,
(12:22):
usually we see a trade. That wasn't the case for
the Eagles, and I think they figured out buried whatever
hatchets there were. But the real problem with Carson Wentz
is the regression. We're seeing actual regression, and we saw
this with Jared Goff last season. But they fixed it
by bringing in an offensive staff who clearly has dedicated
this offseason to working with him and making sure he's
(12:44):
comfortable with the play calling, making sure he understands his
job for those plays, and working on his mechanics. Carson
Wentz is really struggling pushing the ball down field, stepping
into throws, on timing routes, and it's coming up week
after week after week. Now just through this ill faded
interception now, but we'll see what with this, Uh, with
(13:04):
this season holds for the Eagles. We got the Bills
scoring a touchdown right now against the is he down? Yeah?
We got Singletary who that was about a fifteen yard
run from the high red zone. I think they may
have single touchdown, but we have to take a look
where he actually came down a little bit early. Kneed
(13:26):
definitely down a great run though off the left side
of pitch play and uh, he just rumbled. He didn't
get touched until the second level. This offensive line has
been blocking well up in Buffalo. We had our first
touchdown Falcon sixty three yard touchdown Ryan Ridley, No, no, no, no,
it was a sixty three yard reception that got them
(13:47):
down to the one. We got down to the one.
Hayden Hurst caught the one yard room. I'm sorry, absolutely right,
So sixties where I kept passes set up the one
yard touchdown pass to the end, and we had our
first mix extra point ron cool touchdown from Houston here. Oh,
we gotta touchout a Houston on the board early against
the Pittsburgh Steelers. So that will be a game. It
(14:10):
appears look, a lot of people win with the Steelers,
they've been hot lately. Uh, But Texans trying to figure
it out and fell to ohen To a lot of
people didn't see that coming. And a nice little rub
route to the left side. The Shaun Watson fights Pett.
We'll get you the receiver on the receiving end of
that in a moment, all right. And we do have
(14:30):
a touchdown for the Bills right now. They do score there.
It is so the Bills get the early score against
the Rams. Stefon digs a little short pass from Josh Allen,
so the Bills get in the end zone first against
the Rams. And it was Randall Cobb who caught the
touchdown pass uh in the Texan game at Pittsburgh. Right
(14:51):
now they lead seven three extra point was good? All right,
Buffalo looking good. I'm telling you this Bill's team. I
know that people are excited New engl in early on
because Cam Newton has looked pretty good. But this Bill's
teams for real. This Builts team is built the right way.
They have a really really good offensive line in the
talented defense. A lot of people thought this was gonna
(15:13):
be another plotting season for the Bills, But they're doing
nice job through there. They're gonna review this Dig's catch.
It was a low pass. Did he the ball hit
the ground wide receiver bubble screen to Stefan Diggs? He
had three blockers in front of him. Uh, And it
looked like the reception could have touched the ground. So
(15:34):
did he trap? Did catching? Will come the game with
the brakes, so we'll come back to that. By the way,
did I just see what I saw? It looks like
a turnover for the Vikings. Boy, the Vikings are just
awful right now? Did Dalvin Cook fumble that football and
wasn't recovered by Tennessee? Yeah, there was a runback for
(15:54):
Tennessee Titans already leading that game three nothing. But I
mean if the Vikings lose today at home, to fall
to oh and three, I mean essentially their season is over.
And you have to wonder about Mike Zimmer's future. I mean,
if they if they have like a four and twelve,
five and eleven season, does he survived? They just extended him,
so I think he does. And and Zimmer has put
(16:15):
in some good time with this team. Obviously, Kirk Cousins
has looked about as good as he has in his
career as a Viking, well not last week. He didn't
know I'm saying. I'm saying track work record this season.
Last year he was m VP candidate for a short
time there. So I I look at Zimmer as being safe.
But you know how this league goes, You do that
(16:36):
again next year early on they can make a hard
decision there. But they just paid that man, so I
think they're gonna keep them around all right. So around
the league right now again, looking at some of the
early scores, we got Falcons up six nothing over the Bears,
tightens up three nothing over the Vikings, forty niners, three
nothing over the Giants, and the Texans a seven three
(16:57):
lead over the Steelers. Eagles were able to get the
ball back after the Wentz interception, and no score in
that game against the Bengals. No score yet between the
Raiders and the Patriots. Looking at some of the early
numbers in this game, New England hasn't shown must offense
only have thirteen yards in total offense to the Raiders
sixty five this Raider offense. And I you are a
(17:20):
big proponent of Josh Jacobs when he came out, I
I looked him as a big question mark because he
really platooned at running back at Alabama. We didn't see
a lot of him. Wasn't like he was like you know,
Derrick Henry. He's carrying the ball forty times. But he
is the real deal. And you get a sense now
you're three under Gruden that he has the players that
(17:41):
he wants and he has the system that he wants
right now, absolutely, and Derek Carr is the right quarterback
for that system because he's consistent. He's a great game manager,
which means he's not going to be the guy to
force the ball into bad situations and be a huge
turnover machine for you. And he can run an offense
and be dependable to do so. Look, he's a better
quarterback than a lot of people are willing to give
(18:02):
him credit for because he hasn't had a lot of
consistency in coaching. Well that's changed. Signed a ten year contract.
They have reversed the call The ball hit the ground,
so no touchdown for the Bills incomplete pass two Stephen Diggs.
They clearly hit the ball, all right, let's uh, let's
hear the Texans get in the end zone on third
(18:22):
and eight from the Steeler twenty eight. Watson and the
gun pocket the laps and throws downfield, got a man
at the ten, the five touchdown. Randolph Cob Houston takes
the lead. Sports Radio six ten Texans Radio Network seven
three lead there for the Texans. Third and goal now
for the Bills, and they are trying to get in
(18:43):
the end zone and okay, somebody blew a coverage. Do
how does Diggs get wide open? Aren't you thinking like, okay,
here's one guy. We have to sort of keep an
eye on Stefon Diggs and he literally is ten yards
away from anybody, I promise you. Yeah, there is a flag.
I'm curious if that's O p I, because how does
(19:03):
a receiver get that. Somebody must have picked. Now we
have holding on the offense. Okay, so check it out.
Oh wait a second, we may have offset There is
an offsetting penalty. So we got third and goal again,
third and goal. This has been they They had a
first and goal like ten minutes ago, and we are
still because we had a review on a play, we
(19:25):
had a touchdown call back, and all of a sudden,
now we have offsetting penalty. So so Diggs is going
how many touchdowns. Do we gotta score on this drive?
But if you look at it, you have a sellout,
all out blitz by the Rams, and yeah, you had
one on one across the board in the end zone. Digs.
I'm guessing his guys fired and he he shouldn't have.
(19:45):
Somebody just never picked him up. Now, I mean he
was untouched from the line of scrimins. He was started
dragging behind another receiver who did get picked up, and
no one picked him up. Alright, So third and goal
again Bill's Ramps. No score in this game, Raiders, New England,
no score. Those are sort of our two Markee matchup.
We're watching early this morning. Got eight games in total. Uh,
(20:06):
in another busy day around the National Football League. One
of the big surprises scheduling wise is the fact that
we have a Monday night game between the Chiefs and Ravens.
How did Money Night get that matchup? They never get
That's like your Sunday matches. This We need this at
least twice this season to reaffirm how great football is
in a standing alone moment. And I hope both of
(20:28):
these quarterbacks have a day. I'm as much a fan
as good defensive games. You know the pictures dual all that,
but on Monday night standalone, let's see that. Let's see
that scoreboard look like a slot machine. I'm pumped up
for it, all right. Third and goal was a direct
snap to single Terry, but he got stopped. So the
Bill is now a fourth and goal inside two minutes
(20:50):
to go in the first quarter, and they are gonna
go for it. It is inside the one yard line.
They are lined up in a classic I formation right now.
Now they're shipping up still in anne, so let's see
what they do. And it is Allen looking to pass
on the end zone and it is caught touchdown Bills
beautiful and he flags. I mean, are we there? Yeah?
Smith got that one. Yeah, Yeah, They're they're tight end
(21:13):
Lee Smith comes down with the reception. He had to
go up and get a tough throws, tough catches in
the low red zone at the goal line. Especially Josh
Allen on the play fake sold it well. The Rams
just rushed up field and you had single man coverage
on Smith who elevates and brings it down while Alan
was under fire. Really, really good job by the Bills
(21:36):
getting seven points for the third time at the goal line.
All right, giving him time. By the way, excellent pass
coverage right there, Uh for the Bills as far as
pass protection. All right, we're in the guy called Fox
Sports Radio Studios. Let's find out what is trending right now.
David gascon minus Food today, Are you okay? I'm all right.
I'm I'm asking like where your normal executive producer is?
(21:59):
And I am a little shock that bow is here
as well. Gavin is not here because he was supposed
to have a trip to Hawaii you find the big
Allen and Maui, and it got canceled, so he is
substituting time in the o C. Well, it's like to say,
that's that's interesting. Yeah, And I saw Bowie straight drinking
some cyanide after watching his Oklahoma sooners. Just what did
(22:22):
after having advantage? I didn't know that bow You guys,
I don't want to talk about that anymore. We were,
we were eye witness to that yesterday. We could not
believe what we just saw. I mean, that Oklahoma defense
just a lot of sad face emojis and Norman could
you imagine if that was a packed house to Maid revolt?
(22:43):
Can you imagine? We believe what we saw. We'll stay
here until next Saturday. How do you lose back to back?
Here's to Kansas State. I don't know. That is unreal.
That is a little bit unreal. Hey, uh guess gon
do you have a feud with bow? Should we expect
more pugilism here or do you guys see I No,
we we see eyed although he's like six ft five
or something, so it's more you look up to Yeah,
(23:06):
look him directly in the clavical. Yeah, I'm looking at
the Ramsey jersey. That's that's that he's done in today.
So but yeah, guys, you mentioned with the Bills, they
got it on fourth down seven nothing over the Los
Angeles Rams, Rams and Mr Fugal on their previous drive.
Titans by six right now over Minnesota six nothing, six
minths to play in the first quarter. Patriots and Raiders.
(23:26):
Nothing doing just yet, and Patriots are on the move
though they're at their thirteen yard line. Three nothing over
the New York Giants. Bengals and Eagles underway. Nothing doing
just yet. Carson went six of nine, has an interception
in the Houston Texans even evangely on third of eight
from the Steeler twenty eight. Watson and the gun pocket
collapse and throws downfield. Got a man at the ten.
The five touchdown Randolph Cob Houston takes the lead Theah.
(23:53):
They're up seven to three on that one. Bears and
Falcons going at a ballgames on Fox. Matt Ryan four
for two. It's in a touchdown pass. Atlanta leads six
to three. A p T was missing this ball game.
Julio Jones is not playing as well. Hamstring injury guys.
One quick note in the NBA Minnesota timber Wolves, Malik
Beasley was arrested yesterday in Minneapolis. He was averaging twenty
(24:14):
one points a game last season for the team UH.
He was charged with feeling a controlled substance of the
narcotics and also felony receiving concealed stolen property. He was
arrested after brandishing a gun and pointing it at someone
when they called the police. Fellas, Hi, David, thank you
very much once again, coming alive and the guy go
Fox Sports Radio Studios. Easy to say fift cent a
(24:37):
more in the car insurance and get go go to
guy goo dot com or call eight under nine four
seven otto. The only hard part figuring out which way
is easier. It took a while, but Bills, well they
got a touchdown. Snap, gonna throw it. Josh has time,
throws to the end zone, touchdown, touchdown, Buffalo. It is
Lee Smith, his first game, his first touchdown. Lee Smith
was wide open in the end zone. Al Right, w
(24:58):
g R and the Bills radio networks. So the Bills
now kicking off. They have a seven nothing lead early
against the Rams. Still no score in this Raiders New
England game. Are you surprised you got a touchdown in
Washington as well? The Washington football team on the board.
How about that? Yeah, this New England game. It's slow
going so far. But Josh Jacobs, who are just singing
(25:19):
his praises, he fumbles on the left tackle inside run
Calhoun stripped some Calhoun dives on it. So it's Cam
Newton and the Pats back on the field. Just about
at the two minute one or no, no, no, this
is first quartersill, just about two minutes left in the
first Yeah, Washington football team up seven nothing over the Browns.
Dwayne Haskins sooner off to good start, six yards and
(25:41):
a touchdown pass picked off. Wow, so he was under
a little pressure in the pocket. He gets to the outside,
trying to stretch the play. And it's Abram the safety,
the drafted safety from last year spent some time injured,
making some big plays on a lot of big hits
earlier this season. He picks off Cam Newton, so it's
(26:04):
Raiders ball back after the Jacob's fumble due to the
Cam Newton interception, Raiders. Oh boy, that has a bad pass.
I have no idea. Did he not see him? He
threw it right to him. Look at this. I I
don't know when he would. Oh, there you go. You
see that. He was trying to find his tight end
who was on the the QB scrambled literally right to him.
(26:25):
He never saw he lost Abram. He lost Abram, he
never saw him. Look, those are throws you want back
because there's nothing there. Just throw that ball out of
bound your way outside the pocket. So it's Raiders ball
inside the twenty against the Packs. Al right, So Raiders
trying to get the ball get on the scoreboard first.
You know, you look at the a f C West
right now, obviously the Chiefs the team to be, but
(26:47):
the Chiefs struggled against the Chargers last week. Now, the
Chargers got some bad news Melvin Ingram is gonna be
at at least three games. Uh, and that hurts because
what they showed against the Chiefs. Again, think about quarterbacks.
It's like a great shooter on the court. With Katina
and I were talking about this yesterday. You know, great
shooters can shoot from everywhere, but you got your spots.
(27:08):
Same thing with quarterbacks. You know, a guy like Mahomes,
he can throw it from anywhere, but he has his spots.
And if you're able to just move him around where
he doesn't seem to find a spot, then you can
cause some confusion. That's what the Chargers did last week
with so when you move him off a spot and
suddenly he doesn't get comfortable. Dalvin Cook scored a touchdown
(27:29):
in Minnesota. Looks like here, guys, yeah, So when that
was a long run by the way off tackle right,
nice designed run, Dalvin Cook. I mean after he passed
through the linebacker level, nobody home. And so the Tennessee
Titans did a poor job on run support from their secondary.
And now it is Minnesota seven, Tennessee six because they
(27:52):
hit their extra point. There you go. Gaskowski did not
still struggling. The future Hall of Famer rough Star mean
the Titans, they have two field goals in their mind.
I take it. Yes, he did not miss. They do
not take your guy, do not put him down. Two
field goals for him. All right, let's give him credit,
(28:13):
what credits to? So yeah, we're watching that Dalvin Cook
touchdown right there? All right, So let's hear from the
Washington football team first attended Cleveland's seventeen yard line, empty
backfield for Hasket's five wide receiver set, steps back, throws
over the middle, has his man inman touchdown, touchdown Washington
(28:35):
and I love you Scott Turner. I love you Scott
Turner w TM the team watching football team. Early seven.
Nothing laid against the Brown's team to look awful week one.
They did bounce back with a win in game two.
So both these teams sitting at one and one without
great expectations. But the Browns are at home today, and
(28:58):
so this was a game where you're like, all right,
Washington football team, they're not great. Baker mayfields off to
a decent start right now, but this is a game.
If you're the Browns, you gotta win this game at home. Well,
and also remember the last appointment was a win and
they ran the air out of the football against the
Bengals on Thursday Night football. That feels like forever ago
because it was. They have long rest and so the
(29:19):
Browns need to win this one because the Washington football
team has struggled and then they've looked good at times
inconsistent though the Browns struggled, but finally looked like they
found a consistent well to routinely visit in this run
game with Chub and Hunt, I would suggest very much.
So get back to that well. By the way, New
(29:39):
England's secondary is lights out. I mean, Derek Carr was
trying to find open receivers. He couldn't, so Carlson will
come on for a twenty nine yard field goal attempt
right now for the Raiders. No score in this game.
The kick is good, so the Raiders have an early
three nothing lead on the road against the Patriots. But
that New England's secondary, which just Scott Riddle, I mean,
(30:01):
that tells you how good Russell Wilson is. I mean
touchdowns last week he is, I mean right now in
the NFL, if I had to put two names at
the top of my list, and it's crazy to say
this because I was comparing him to a more than
average talented tight end when he entered the league. It's
Josh Allen at the quarterback position, and it's Russell Wilson.
(30:22):
Those are my one and two, and I'll say Wilson
has the slight edge. But I could be convinced today
on this Football Sunday that Allen takes the cake. By
the way we we make our preseason predictions the NFL
here at Fox Sports Radio, I was the only person
to pick Russell Wilson's the MVP Award this year. Well,
I'm with you. I think he's I mean, nine touchdowns
(30:44):
in the first two games. He has a pass radio
of a hundred forty completing eighty two percent. You have
a quarterback who can literally make uh diamonds out of coal.
I mean, he truly is an excellent facilitator of talent.
I feel very similar we actually about Kim Noon. I'll
explain why as the day goes on. But Russell Wilson,
(31:04):
what he's been able to do with some of the
receiving corps and some of the offensive one he's played
behind in the past, Uh, he's really made a lot
of people look really, really good. Who weren't all that great,
and so this year finally good offensive line, good receiver help,
he's really gonna shine. All right, let's get yet another
highlight in for our listeners and off Cook. He goes
(31:26):
behind the two Titans to the right. It's clear at
thirty Galvin ten five touchdown yard energy boosting touchdown by
Galvin Cook. We're all tied at six in corner one. Okay,
fam Minneapolis and the Vikings radio network. The extra point
was good, so the Vikings have a seven six lead
(31:48):
to a half minutes to go in the first quarter
of that game. So far, we haven't seen the wild
scoring that we saw last week. I mean last week
was just ridiculous. I mean, touchdown scene to be popping
up almost every time we looked up at a game.
Defensives have tightened a little bit. I mean, when we
go without a preseason early in this year, untested, do
(32:10):
you think offense has had the advantage the first couple
of weeks when we see a little more defense emerging
over the next couple of weeks. No, offenses have not
had the advantage. Defenses always due, but the league will
give the advantage to the offense as remember that first week,
and we've heard why. Now the league has released a
(32:32):
statement saying it only they're only calling fouls on egregious
penalties because they realize everybody's a little rusty. All these
offensive linemen may have their hands on the outside, so
defenders are really getting a raw deal through two weeks
of the season. We'll see what it looks like as
far as the yellow laundry on the field this week.
But that's the reason why we're seeing high powered offenses,
especially with mobile quarterbacks, because on the outside, when they
(32:53):
escape the pocket, you're not calling holdings. It's a lot
of yards and a lot of threat and stress on
your secondary. All right, we're gonna take up as right now.
We're gonna get back to our amazing coverage of the
National Football League. But first a word from Farmers. You
get a whole lot of something with Farmers policy perks
so much I'm gonna have to speed things up. You
can get new car replacement, or if your car is total,
(33:15):
Farmers will pay to replacement with a new one of
the same. Making up like we're uniting with an old friend,
but he had a benefit of that new car smell,
so it's really new car and new car smell replacement.
Get a whole lot of something with Farmers policy perks
start with a quote by calling one eight hundred farmers.
We are farmers, not for the legal something that covers
out the able and every seat only alble with like
pharmasmanic policy terms and condition underwriten the pharmastric and faranture
(33:36):
and exchanges are failing. Steve Harbin, Rich Armorer, We are
coming alive from the Guy Go Fox Sports Radio Studios.
Time now for our guy Go play of the day,
and off Cookie goes behind the two Titans to the right.
It's clear as the thirty five touchdown party nine yard
(34:00):
energy boosting touchdown by Galvin Cook. We're all tied at
six in corner one. Yeah, Kfam Innneapolis and the Vikings
Radio Network. Did you know that? Right now, guy goes
offering an extra fifteen percent credit on car motorcycle in
r V policies. That's fifteen percent on top of what
Geico is already saving you. So what are you waiting
for saving extra fifteen when you switch? By October seventh,
(34:23):
physic Geico dot com to learn more. Alright, So New
England still trailing three nothing and they came up short
on third and ten. So Nick Focus coming on for
a field goal attempt. We're going to tie this game
against the Raiders. Both offenses have struggled to get some
big plays done. The kick is good, So the Patriots
(34:48):
and the Raiders tied at three. Texans on the board
again David Johnson, this time off tackle right. So the
Houston Texans leading the Pittsburgh Steelers in Pittsburgh fourteen to three.
Nice little drive they put together there, and again they
need to win in the worst way. Oh and two
against the two and oh Pittsburgh Steelers today. And Josh Allen,
(35:11):
who you say right now, along with Russell Wilson to
your top two contenders for m v P has scored
a touchdown on top of passing for a touchdown. So
the Bills are up fourteen nothing over the Rams ten
minutes to go. Uh in the first half. There again,
tough for the Rams. Back to back East Coast trips.
Normally you would have stayed on the East Coast after
(35:32):
playing the Eagles. They didn't. They decided because of the
COVID situation to come home. Uh. In fact, here is
that second Buffalo score, second and goal from inside the
two Allen takes the snap, gonna keep it himself. The
third time goes rightside this time and he dives and
he is in touchdown. Buffalo Josh Allen three straight runs.
(35:52):
The last one puts points on the board. They got
down inside w g R and the Bills radio network.
So Allen has run for eleven yards and a score.
Seven attempt passing seventy five yards and a score, no picks. Uh,
he is looking like I mean, if they had a
most improved player uh in the NFL, they don't have
(36:13):
one of those like they have let's say in the
n b A uh, he might be overwhelming. They were
showing the stat of passes that he threw the traveled
at least twenty yards in the air his first two
years twenty eight percent or percent completion this year seventy
eight percent. Short sample size, but what we heard during
(36:34):
training camp and again limited media availability, so we had
a trust experts who are on the field reporting from
Buffalo that he was working on it and he was
looking better. We also know that he had a select
group of receivers meet him. Something to keep an eye on. Guys,
What do you got here? Bo Joe Burrow just got
blown up by Malik Jackson in the Bengals Eagles game,
and it looks like he is leaving the game all right.
(36:56):
So Joe Burrow, who watched his l s U team
without him lose. They were the first team to win
a national championship and lose the opening game the following
year since Michigan back in Well, we'll get you an
update on Joe Burrow leading that game. Three nothing. Joe
Burrow under siege all season long and again only two
games so far. But we saw what happened on Thursday night.
(37:19):
That was a tremendous standalone uh performance by Joe Burrow,
but with no help from his offensive line. They were
crashing like symbols in front of him while he was
just getting completely annihilated. We have an interception in the
end zone in this Packer excuse me, Vikings Tennessee game.
So the Tennessee Titans going for a nice long shot
(37:40):
and the Vikings come up with the football. So Vikings
ball in a game they currently lead by a by
a single point seven six. In Minnesota, the forty Niners
without Jimmy Garoppolo today Mullins quarterback game. They're struggling against
the lowly Giants six to three, forty Niners leading that game.
So no Garoppolo and right now the forty n offense
(38:03):
is not performing the way we've seen when Garoppolo is
in their six three forty Niners early, So they put C. J.
Bethord on the field, did the Bengals, and so that
will be who will take excuse me, no, no, no
is in the game for the Niners. So that they
just took as a joke said put C J. Bethard.
(38:25):
He said, oh, I thought you said that Burrow is
in the game, and he just got sacked for a
huge loss. So Joe Burrow, whatever was going on there
is back in. And meanwhile the Raiders are running the
ball effectively against this New England defense. They are getting
yards on the ground, which isn't New England. So New England,
(38:47):
while their past defense is elite, the run defense has
allowed a hundred twenty on the ground per game. So
I was assuming that Jacobs was going to have a
decent day today against especially with this town of a
radar offensive line as they have, even though they've had
to move some parts around. The run game is where
they shine. Derek Carr gets sacked in and there's a
(39:08):
fule in the backfield. Patriots jump on it. Flags everywhere,
and they say, now England has the ball, but there
are flags on the field that would be big right
there if that turns out to be a new England
uh recovery right there. All right, let's get back with
more highlights. Pashan takes the snap and off Johnson walks
(39:29):
into the right side. Touchdown. David Johnson, all right, So
that is Sports Radio six down the Texans radio network.
Texans on the road against the Steelers. Remember they were
owing two. Steelers were two and oh but the Texans
are leading that game fourteen to three. Really impressive performance
so far by this Texans offense. We've got another injury
(39:51):
to check out Steelers defense. What do we got bo? Uh?
Washington football team has lost Chase Young for the day
with a groin injury, the rookie out of Ohio State.
That is not good for them, and and something to
state about that. Look, you see this with some of
these like high wired, like twitchy, extremely muscular athletes, especially
(40:11):
at the wide receiver position and the pass rushing position.
I mean, he doesn't have an ounced body fat on
his frame. The soft tissue. Uh, injuries like hamstrings and
growing pulls and and calf pulls. You gotta worry about that.
With a guy like that, you gotta worry about overworking
him at practice. The Rams who golf taking a hit.
You don't want to see Goff running rights trying to
(40:32):
get some offense going alrighty down fourteen nothing on the
road against the Bills, seven fifteen to go in the
first half. There, Alright, so far, it's been an interesting
start to the day, not nearly as much scoring as
we saw at this point a week ago. We're gonna
continue to update you on everything you need to know
about the National Football League. Keep it right here in
(40:54):
Fox Sports Radio. All right, we're rolling along on another
big NFL Sunday, coming alive from the guy. Go Fox
Sports Radio Studios. Fifteen minutes could save you fift cente
Marty Carr Insurance is a guy. Go dot com for
a free rate quote. All right, let's give you a
quick update on some of the things happening out there.
(41:15):
We did get a Rams field goal. Uh so they're
trades Lean fourteen three and out of Buffalo. The Steelers
have just gotten in the end zones. So they have
narrowed their deficit. Fourteen ten. Now Ben Roethlisberger with a
touchdown past the Ebron your guy, uh, Eric e Uh
(41:36):
so fourteen ten now the Texans leading? Uh the Steelers
in that game? Uh? New England? What happened there? I
thought New England looked like they're on their way to score,
and it's it's still three all what's happening? I missed?
I missed what happened there at the goal line? Uh,
they're having trouble getting in and so did they say?
I've figured they were about to settle for three point?
(41:58):
It is fourth and goal and the Raiders five yard
line right now. No, No, they just kicked the field
goal and the field goal is good, so they settle
for three there. Yeah, this is again. This is a tough,
tough matchup. Defensively, Raiders definitely a better defense than people
give them credit for. They have a lot of speed.
Max Crosby is great upfront, in my opinion, probably one
(42:19):
of the more underrated defensive ends in the league right now.
Abraham in the defensive secondaries quickly become a feared adversary,
especially in the run game, and that looks to be
as we've seen over two weeks with the Patriots, the
commitment they're gonna pound the run and then they're gonna
surprise you with the play action off of a lot
of those Cam Newton design run plays and hasn't worked
(42:41):
against the Raiders yet, playing discipline football and Fox bro
in the early two quarters. All right, the Browns have
taken the lead. Mayfield under center call signals, turns, gives
Chup runs. He said ten, he said five. He's still
going chuck dive touchdown, Nick Chup. I want to run
(43:03):
by Nick Shobb, and I know I say that a lot,
but he keeps bettering these runs. All right, Brown's Radio Network.
Sixteen yards score for Nick Shobb, and the Browns have
a ten seven lead over the Washington football team. We
have a touchdown in the Falcons Bears game, Atlanta hosting
the Bears, and it was Brian Hill who had a
(43:24):
nice off tackle left play inside zone run where he
found daylight and wasn't touched, galloped into the end zone.
And so the Falcons lead the Bears fifteen three. Right. Oh, well,
you know that leads say for Alana, right, I mean,
I mean you could put that one in the bank
Falcons with the first half. League, you know that's a
(43:46):
he can put that down. Yeah, there is six three
with the extra point if there's every game. By the way,
the Bears remember in their first game, uh Tobisky through
those three touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to steal
that one. The Bears'm in this game two and all
the Falcons are oh and two and Trabinsky an improved year,
but still look there there are signs of inconsistency right now.
(44:09):
Eight of thirteen passing eighty yards, no touchdowns, no interceptions.
But did a nice job on that inside zone play,
just handing that ball right, crisp handoff to Brian hill
I bumped his head on the goal post like a
forty eight yard field goal for the Bengals. So they
finally tie this game three three. I mean, this is
not a game that's gonna go into the archives the
(44:30):
National Football League. Joe Burrow six atten just thirty one yards,
Carson Wentz eight of fourteen, only forty six yards and
a pick. Uh So both teams who came into this
game oh Into both lookting like oh Into football teams.
The bulk of the scoring so far this weekend fourteen
ten lead in Pittsburgh Houston Texans over the Steelers. DeShawn
(44:54):
Watson eight of twelve passing UH one twenty one through
the air. He's thrown for a touchdown and David Johnson
rushed one in earlier today. On the Pittsburgh Steelers side,
a little bit less consistent offensively, Ben Roethlisberger six of
thirteen passing seventy two yards. He threw a touchdown though uh.
(45:14):
He found obviously Eric Ebron most recently. But it's been
a lot on the ground for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Their
game is built around the rush. Yeah, so is New
England's game. They got seventy seven yards on the ground
so far, six three lead over the Raiders. But Cam
Newton is struggling. Five of thirteen thirty five yards, no
touchdowns and a pick that is not going to get
(45:36):
it done. Uh. You gotta have some kind of efficiency
with a passing game, and so far the Raiders have
come up with some answers against Cam Newton. Um, you know,
and you gotta believe you know, Cam hasn't played much
the last couple of years. Uh, And as you know,
you start getting a little more film looking at certain
tendencies at what is a completely new offense in New
(45:58):
England's running obviously from the Tom Brady era. Cam Newton
be in testa right now and so far really struggling
throwing the ball five at thirteen, just thirty five yards. Yeah, Kim,
Look he's a veteran, right, you know it's a thirty
year old man. This is somebody who understands this league.
He's been in tough games. He's seen a lot of
winning football, he's seen some losing football as well. So
(46:20):
if there's anybody who can react to a low scoring
slugfest earlier in a game, it's gonna be Cam Newton
right now. Patriots doing a nice job bottling up Jacobs
after it looked like he was gonna have a big
day on the ground. So this is a pictures duel.
This is a classic defensive struggle through a quarter and
a half of play in New England. Score currently three
(46:43):
for the Raiders, six for your Patriots. All right, bounce
back game for Kirk Cousins. Last week a disaster, I mean,
one of the worst statistical games I've seen in a while.
But he's off to a good start today. Eight of
ten passing ninety six yards and a touchdown to theland
and the Vikings, after being down six nothing are leading
the Titans fourteen to six. So that was one of
(47:04):
the big questions because the Vikings have looked awful the
first two weeks. Are they that bad? Uh? And they
seem to have righted the ship at least so far,
up fourteen six seven minutes to go in the first half.
There a storyline that we haven't touched on early today
and and yet really is this San Francisco forty Niners
back to back games that MetLife last week they lose
(47:27):
four players on that field and two of them, uh,
were that they were blaming the turf. Eric Armstead very
very critical of the field, turf and MetLife. The NFL
sent people to review the turf to make sure that
the conditions were playable. They said that all of the
feedback as far as the friction coefficient and and and
(47:47):
how difficult it was to release cleats from that field
came back as far as being a positive and safe
environment to play. But bad luck, they lose Solomon Thomas
last week, they lose Nick boast So last week they
lose Raheem most dirt last week. Who was their leading
rusher a year ago, Slee Garoppolo with the shoulder as well.
So Nick Mullins takes over. That game is tied currently
(48:08):
six six in New York. Josh Allen is absolutely on
fire right now. The Bills are trying to get a
score and right before the half already leading the Rams
fourteen to three, and they are inside the ten yard
and we got twenty seconds to go on the first half,
first and goal for the Bills. Josh Allen nine of
thirteen in a touchdown. Meanwhile, here's Pittsburgh score and in
(48:30):
the gun, he's gonna throw it for the end zone
and the pattis taught for a touchdown. What a crap fire.
Eric Ebron took it away from the defender and scored. Man.
That is a big play in this football game. W
d V one or two five FM and w b
g G a M Steelers radio network. So Steelers train
(48:51):
laying that game to the Texans fourteen the ten. Meanwhile,
we now have a second and goal for the Bills.
Uh wow, what a difference it makes when you got
a quarterback completing passes. Josh Allen, you know the first
couple of years look like as advertised. Remember, he completed
less than sixty of his passes in college, playing in
the Mount West, which is the conference where you see
(49:13):
some pretty big numbers. So physically he had the tools,
but the accuracy simply wasn't there. And the question is
can he teach accuracy at the NFL level? First two
years he was more proficient with his legs than he
was through the air. But at least early on this season,
he looks like a completely different quarterback throwing the ball
with confidence, with accuracy. All right. Meanwhile, the Tennessee Titans
(49:39):
trailing this game to Minnesota fourteen six. They got the
ball pass midfield and they are trying to get their
game going Derrick Henry. Did you ever think Henry was
gonna be this dominant? Mean won the Heisman Trophy? Remembers
first couple of years like a platoon guy. And then
a couple of years ago was mid season they decided, well,
let's just give this guy the ball last shear. Of course,
(50:00):
he led the NFL and rushing carried this team all
the way to the a f C Championship game. You know,
you can certainly not say that this Derrick Henry, because
remember he beat out McCaffrey in a close vote for
the Heisman. Some people said, well, we might have given
it to a long guy idea, because I gave it
to McCaffrey on my vote. But Henry is obviously a
major star. Is is what what you would call um
(50:22):
an energizer bunny at running back. He just keeps going
and going. He can going stronger as the game goes.
You know who he reminds me of the most. And
it's a recent example of this is uh is Marshawn Lynch.
That's the type of player who you do not want
to see in the fourth quarter because while everybody else
is catching their breath, everybody else has all that lactic
acid building up in their lower body and they're they're
(50:45):
really starting to slow as the game wears on. Marshawn
Lynch just found that fifth year and fifty pounds six three.
I mean he is He just hits you in the
face over and over and over and over and over,
just like Lynch in that interview. It is the living
embodiment of that interview. Watching Derrick Henry play football for
the Tennessee you never you don't see a lot of
(51:06):
backs that big. I mean, you know, thick, you know, shorter,
you know whatever. He is just huge. I mean he
gets ahead of steam. All right. We got a big
play right now for the Bears again trailing the Falcons.
We had already written this game off. We knew the
Falcons were safe. Right, sixteen three lead in the first half.
Wink wink. Five minutes to go. Now the Falcons have
(51:29):
a big play. They're inside the the Bears are inside
the Falcons ten yard line. Alright, forty three seconds to
go in the half. Right now, Bill's leading fourteen three
over the Rams. We got a second and goal. Josh
all little play action, wide open, walking touchdown. Second touchdown
to Lee Smith on the day. Excuse me, this time
(51:49):
it was Tyler Croft the other tight end. Josh Allen
did a great job rolling out on the bootleg pass
and he drew the defender. He threw a gore just
touch pass again, only seven yards. But sometimes those are
the ones you miss on the wide open receiver. You
just you lead him too far, you throw it too hard,
you throw it into the defender. It was perfect Josh Allen.
(52:12):
Right now, I'm gonna say something that a year ago
I would have never said. He's your league, MVP Allen
is your league watching player do a complete reversal on
all the things that he was criticized for a year ago,
for the first two years of his career. But this
(52:33):
first rounder out of Wyoming is knocking my socks off.
All right, we're in the Guy Go Fox Sports Radio Studios.
We're heading towards halftime here on our early games on
this Sunday. Will continue to update you everything National Football
League coming up next. Now, the staff fires wide open
(52:55):
Tyler Croft touchdown Buffalo. That's too easy, too easy. Shallon
throws a touchdown past three yards long to Tyler Croft.
But Bills have exposed the Rams defense. They're getting wide
open receivers. Nobody was near Croft on network. Yeah, w
g R and the Bills radio network. We are coming
alive from the Guy Go Foxworts Radio studios. I just
(53:18):
gotta believe as far as the Rams are concerned, back
to back East Coast trips, uh is tough. And when
you're playing a team that's playing as well offensively as
the Bills are right now, that's a tough assignment. They're
at the half twenty one three, Bills leading the Rams.
Josh Allen ten of fourteen yards to touchdown's note picks
he has also run for a touchdown. So the Bills
(53:42):
dominating that game. Uh, leading the ramsway score of twenty
one to three. Alright, so we're heading toward halftime here,
Rich Bears got on the board. They are trailing the
Falcons now sixteen to ten. Uh. Mitchell Trobiski a short
touchdown past to Graham. Uh. In that game, whatever happened
to Jimmy Graham. Wasn't there a time where it looked
(54:03):
like this guy was had a ticket for the Hall
of Fame? Yeah? There was. There was a point where
Jimmy Graham, Gronk Kelsey, they were all going off at
the same time. It was sort of the year of
the tight end. And then he dissipated. He went to
Seattle and that's where it just seemed to not happen well.
And I don't understand that all that well, because, I mean,
(54:25):
Wilson makes Disley look like a potential All Pro player,
So it is it is bizarre that they couldn't get
on the same page. There. Do we have the Jimmy
Graham score here? It is Mitch keeps out the thick
throws right in this Grail puts the ball over the
that slams it into the turf for the touchdown touchdown
Bears Jimmy Graham's second touchdown. It's sixteen nine Atlanta with
(54:49):
one on the half and they tacked on the extra
point there. That is w BBM News Radio seven eight
a m and one oh five point nine FM, Bears
Radio Network sixteen ten Falcons leading that game against the
Bears a little more than a minute ago in the
first half. Meanwhile, New England has a sixth ree league.
We're inside a minute to go in the first half
(55:11):
and they're driving again against this Raiders defense. The problem
has been Guinea in the end zone, no question. And
the New England Patriots offense has been a mixed bag
of creative rushing plays uh. So far today one, two, three, four, five, six,
Seven different New England offensive skilled position players have rushed
(55:35):
the football uh. And they have a bizarrely equal amount
of carries until you get to Sony Michelle and J. J. Taylor,
who've had eight and five respectively. But they are spreading
the football around in the run game. They're giving a
ton of different looks to this Raiders defense. Scept miss
by Cam Newton. We had a touchdown in the Cleveland
(55:57):
Browns game as well, Kareem Hunt with a pass from
big or Mayfield. All right, so that would extend the
Browns lead to seventeen seven over the Washington football team.
So as bad as the Browns were in that opening game,
and they were bad, um, they could well be on
their way to a second straight win. So maybe Baker
Mayfield's career isn't over yet. Let's move on and here
(56:19):
another highlight from the Steelers. Ben back first Town and
he said, hits a wide open man at ten and
walking to the end zone. Is ju Ju smith Schuster
for the Pittsburgh Steelers go ahead touchdown. He was nobody
was narrowble Yeah, w v E one or two five
(56:40):
mm w b g G nine seventy AM Steelers Radio network.
So the Texans had that fourteen three lead. Now the
Steelers are leading seventeen fourteen inside a minute to go
in the first half. And that play was a pass
all the way, a bunch set to the right, and
it took a long time to develop. But Smith Schuster
was just on a crossing route, a shallow crossing round
that he turned up field into what looks like almost
(57:02):
a wheel route and he catches it, and the announcers
were correct. He was all alone there. Twenty six yard
touchdown pass from Big Ben to Smith Schuster, and we
have a New England touchdown pass of a little pass
Rex Burke Head a little swing pass. They're getting in
the end zone for New England. They attack on the
(57:23):
extra point. So the Patriots are leading the Raiders thirteen
to three thirty four seconds ago. Let's watch this play
right now. So Cam Newton a little wheel route right
there and nic move that was just I mean, really
that was just a swing pass and it looked like
it looked like a screen if that was a a
tackle who released there and through the first block Burke
(57:46):
had did a nice job breaking inside, made three men
miss and then he dove over the ends of the
goal line, lost and try to keep him out. He
elevates and gets in for six. So the Patriots dropped
blood and now it's up to our car to try
to carve up this Patriots passing defense as they trail
in this game. Early another score that happened McKinnon a
(58:08):
ten yard run for the forty niners. So in a
game of field goals. The forty Niners finally get the
first touch. Now that game, they lead the Giants thirteen
to six. We got a minute to go in the
first half of that game. Again, no Jimmy Garoppolo, no
mos starred in this game. Those forty Niners went down
like crazy a week ago, but right now they're leading
(58:29):
on the road against a New York Giants team that
does not look good. We know this from the number
one running back as well with Kwon Barklay, and so
did the forty Niners. So no excuse, no fair dodging
in this game. The forty Niners lost their best player
on the field of Nick bo So last week probably
arguably their best defensive tackle and Solomon Thomas last week.
(58:52):
They're leading Russia Raheem Mostarred and their starting quarterbacks. So
the Giants have zero excuses and zero sympathy from me
the to New York team. I feel for their fan
bases because they cannot get out of their own ways.
You know the days of Eli Manning where people are like, yeah,
we need to move on. I bet you want those
days back, because it was looking pretty good with O'Dell
(59:12):
there for a second and then that trade forced what
looks like just a complete nosedive declined for that franchise.
Al Right, so we heard a touchdown for Pittsburgh, and
now the Texans have responded touchdown past Deshaun Watson and
Will Fuller. So the Texans have retaken the lead twenty
one seventeen Texans inside thirty seconds to go in the
(59:35):
first half. So, by the way, Deshaun Watson, how about
this for a first half? Fourteen of eighteen two oh two,
two touchdowns, no picks. That's looking good right there. Watson
a dual threat, a quarterback you want in a close game.
Talented guy DeShawn Watson will not let this team fall
to hoh in three if he has anything to do
(59:56):
with it. So I think it's going to be a
failure of the Texans defense before it's failure of the
offense if this game ended up swinging Pittsburgh's way. Uh,
Steelers hosting the Texans. All right, what happened here? What
do we got? It looks like San Francisco went for
two and just got stuffed, all right, So they went
for then they went for a two point conversion. They
(01:00:17):
score again. No, they were going for a fifteen to
six lead. Looks like they just got a they got
stuffed here. Who whoa hold on a second and they
couldn't have happened. They had just scored a touchdown and
got an extra point to go up thirteen six. So
that so what was that? All right, let's let's get
all right, curd description, see what's going on. You have
(01:00:38):
a play under review in that game. Forty Niners leading
with a minute to go in the first half. Oh,
it was an interception. So on the ensuing drive, the
Daniel Jones threw a pass to the right side intended
for Evan Ingram. It was inter accepted by linebacker. Uh
was it Warner for the forty Niners? So it was
(01:00:58):
first inten the New York Giants thirty two for Nick Mullins,
who threw a deep past. So now they got them
at the goal line and they're looking at it to
see if it was a touchdown rushed over the right
side by Jerick McKinnon. All right, so right now Mullins
is looking to make a play. They get a pass
that's gonna be inside the ten yard line. Clocks running
(01:01:21):
though eight seven clocks stop, seven seconds left in the
first half, forty Niners leading that game by a score
a thirteen to six. So we're getting a halftime right
now with all these games around the National Football League.
By the way, we got a busy schedule later on,
so we've had nothing but morning games, as we like
to call that out here on the West Coast war
(01:01:43):
Fox Sports Radio studios are. But this afternoon we got
five games, uh coming up, Jets at the Colts, Panthers
at the Chargers, Bucks at the Broncos, Lions, Cardinals, Cowboys, Seahawks,
and then of course the sunny night game the undefeated
Green Bay Packers on the road against the Saints. By
the way, Michael Thomas will be out of that game again.
(01:02:04):
The Saints passing game without Michael Thomas, we saw it
last week, does not look the same. Yeah, Drew Brees
definitely looked a little bit out of sync with some
of these secondary targets. Obviously a lot of work between
him and his primary Thomas with him out of the game,
did not look great against the stingy Raiders defense though
the Patriots having a hard time with them as well. Uh,
(01:02:25):
And we do have New England's most recent score, so
Rex Burkhead scrambles for a quick inside run and score
play fake to Edelman Day and his screen wife for perketch.
He gots it to the chench and it for Lodes.
The defender to the Fea goes airport in the end zone.
Touchdown Patriots five the Sports sub and Patriots Radio network,
(01:02:48):
giving the Patriots a thirteen of three lead. However, the
Raiders have just gotten in the end zone with seven
seconds to go a defensive hold against New England. Touchdown Raiders.
So what looked like the Patriots are gonna go on
the half up three? Let's watch this play here. Derek
(01:03:08):
Carr looking for a pass and look at that. Wow. Yeah, yeah,
Renfro gets behind the defense, Jones loses him. Perfect pass
by Derek Carr and was he down before across? Yeah?
Well the question is did he go down as the
ball was at the goal line? Right? They're the balls
(01:03:31):
at the goal line? I don't know. I mean, look,
we have a sideline camera will tell you what we're
looking at. So Renfro's hip touches, touches down, but where's
the ball? The ball has to be at the start
of the goal line. Reviewing, all right, So they're gonna
review that play seven seconds to go, they have ruled
it a touchdown for the Raiders. All right, we're in
(01:03:52):
the guy, go Fox Sports Radio Studios. Let's let's get
trending right now. Is David Gascott just like us at
spinning with everything going on around the National Football League? Yeah?
But uh, I don't know. How are you guys fantasy
teams doing lately? Mine right now is doing pretty well.
Of course it helps when I have Russell Wilson as
my quarterback. Are you guys actually playing games now? Oh? Yes,
(01:04:14):
we missed Week one? I one week two? How did
you do? Reach? I I won the both. I believe
I won both weeks in our league. I'm in three
separate leagues though here Gascon So in one I'm playing
against Josh Allen that's not going all that. In a
different one, I have Calvin Ridley that's going pretty well.
And in the league we do at the radio station,
(01:04:35):
things are looking up for Rich. Uh that's the only
one that you know. I mean, it's just for fun,
not for teams. The alarming thing in this Bill's Rams
game is not that the Rams are getting beaten up,
but it's these Bills were wide receivers that are just
running unmolested down the field. These guys are wide open.
The Rams look gast. Back to back East Coast trips
(01:04:56):
is always tough, especially when the second one is in
Buffalo against this Bill's team that's playing well. Yeah, short preparation,
short rest, you know, especially with all the travel. It's
taking its toll on the RAM so far early going
to three, right, they're still reviewing this h Raiders touchdown
right now. Well, let's do this Bill's Rams thing real quick.
How the stamp fires wide open Tyler Croft touchdown Buffalo.
(01:05:19):
That's too easy, too easy. Josh Allen throws a touchdown
past three yards long to Tyler Croft. The Bills have
exposed the Rams defense. They're getting wide open receivers. Nobody
was near Croft on that one. Yeah, Bills Radio Networks.
They leader right now, twenty one to three. Meanwhile in Cleveland,
a little bit different, second out takes the snap back
(01:05:41):
to pass, throws call Kareem Hunts got it. He fights
into the head soon touchdown thirty two seconds ago. And
I have had the props. Defense has give him the
ball to the Bronze offense on short fields twice and
they've taken both of them in for touchdowns. Guys, is
this the best tandem in the National Football League? Cream
Hunt and Nick Chubb? Boy, it's it's like nothing we've
(01:06:04):
seen in a while. I guess you'd have to go
back to DeVante Freeman, Keevin Coleman, maybe Ingram and Kamara. Well,
Chubb is a star. I mean, people forget he was
second in the league in rushing behind Derrick Henry Creem.
Hunt was no slotch either in Kansas legal problems and
that was that was all that controversy about the Browns
picking up a guy that a lot of people thought
(01:06:25):
should have been expelled from the league. Well, they took
a huge risk because we didn't know what the end
of that story was gonna look like. And it appears
at least he's been a model citizens since. Hopefully that
keeps up. And in the meantime, Chubb and Hunt they
are there are tandem. Yeah. Seventeen seven right now, O
over Washington. As Boa had mentioned earlier, Chase Young done
(01:06:46):
for the day with a groin injury. All field goals
for Tennessee. They trail at Minnesota seventeen to nine. Just
justin Jefferson, the rookie six receptions a hundred four yards
in this ballgame Patriots right now thirteen three that touch
it was called back against Raiders forty sixteen six over
the New York Giants. This ballgame is on Fox. Bengals
have the lead in Philadelphia ten to six over the Eagles.
(01:07:09):
Philadelphia does have the rock though there at Cincinnati's twenty
nine yard land with under admit to play in the
first half. Texans have recaptured the lead over Pittsburgh seventeen
to Shawn Watson. Nice bounce back for him two hundred
and two yards and also a couple of scores. Falcons
sixteen ten over the Bears. Not sure if they're gonna
blow that lead, guys. A p top twenty five pulls
out now for college football, it goes Clemson, Obama, Florida, Georgia,
(01:07:34):
Notre Dame, Ohio State, and then you've got Auburn, Miami, Texas,
and Penn State running out the top ten. Oklahoma, oh
my gosh, they are not number eight teen. Yeah, they're
likely to be there. What about l s U. L
s U is still the top twenty five there at
twenty and they got scored shirt yesterday by Mike Leach
l s U lost everybody from their team, I mean
(01:07:56):
people not paying attention. No, but they're ranked in the
top ten. They were, but that's the problem of the
preseason ranking. They were not the number sixteen country. Nobody
saw what we saw from Castello coming. That was an
un two years ago. Nine touchdown passes for Stanford. Listen,
I'm not saying he's intalented. And then you put him
(01:08:17):
in a leech off. Alright, there's Raiders. There was nine seconds.
They did reverse the touchdown call, but they get it back.
So the Raiders get the touchdown. They're gonna go for
just one right now. It is thirteen to nine, six
seconds to go and a half. All right, I think
we got it all covered. David, Thank you very much.
(01:08:38):
We'll check in with you a little bit later on.
We're coming alive from the guy called Fox Sports Radio Studios.
Easy to say fifteen percent more on car insurance with Geico.
Go to guy got dot com or call eight hundred
nine for seven otto. The only hard part is figuring
out which way is easier. Burrow fakes a handoff to
mixing throws into the end town touchdown. Te Higgins in
(01:09:00):
the back of the end zone, beautifully floated by Joe Burrow,
and the Bengals take the lead with one nine left
in the half. Yeah, there you go, Bengals Radio Network.
So the Bengals on the road against the Eagles, a
battle of winless teams. It has been a very forgettable
first half, but it's even more so now for the Eagles,
mean Eagles. Eagles actually just took the lead on Cincinnati.
(01:09:23):
They're touchdown pass from Wins to Greg Ward. What's happening here,
Like all of a sudden, these last seconds of these
first halves, we're getting this flurry of activity that is incredible.
So the Eagles get the lead back and it's thirteen ten,
sixteen seconds to go in the first half. Eagles and Bengals.
One of those teams unless there's a tie, which is
(01:09:46):
still possible these days, we'll get their first victory of
the season. Meanwhile, the Niners latest score Kendrick form goes
in most and watched by Brad Berry. So two receivers right,
they run left behind Trent Williams and Ken It breaks
the tackle acts for the end zone text. Okay, so
that is canbr forty Niners Radio Network. They did tack
(01:10:09):
on a field goal. So the forty Niners are leading
the Giants sixteen to six at the half. Oh man,
And I'll tell you the plan for the Raiders, or
I should say for the Patriots against the Raiders is
to shut down Darren Waller. He was targeted sixteen times,
received over a hundred yards in the performance on Monday night,
and so you knew that was going to be the strategy.
(01:10:31):
Do not let Derek Carr have his security blanket. But
in the interim, he's got a lot of other receivers involved.
Aglore's got two receptions, Hunter renfro He just set up
that goal line play where Foster Moreau, the other tight end,
catches the one yard score for Derek Carr, who I
just said moments ago, he's gonna have to carve up
(01:10:51):
this team because they were trailing by what was that
ten points just a moment ago. They've neared that gap
to three. New England leads thirteen ten in the last
six seconds of the half. One thing about this pandemic situation,
apparently there's no halftime. We're already two and a half
minutes into the second half of the Rams Bills game.
(01:11:12):
Did they even take a break and halftime. What happened here?
We're at the half and now we're already into the
third quarter. A lot of fact, we got a fourth
down for the Rams are down twenty one to three,
and already looks like they're gonna have to kick the
ball away. The Bills have to be thrilled because they
had that lightning delay last time they played. So this
one's motoring and hold on. The Rams are gonna go
(01:11:33):
for it on fourth and four near midfield. Golf is
rolling out and he throws it away. Wow, those are
gonna get the ball back at midfield. Meanwhile, the Raiders
did get in the end zone. Are they got the
defense to move? It's a free shot? Touchdown, Pats touchdown
pass Foster Brow Raider Nation Radio nine a m. So
(01:11:56):
the Raiders get on the board right before the half.
Third teen ten Patriots at halftime. Let me ask you this.
The Rams down twenty one to three, ball at midfield,
fourth and four, and they went for it and Golf
just threw it away. I mean, it's the only thing
you can do. Look when you go for it on
fourth and four on the other side of the fifty
yard line, what you're what you're looking to do is
(01:12:18):
go with h an absolute play and if it doesn't
work out, don't take the sack, get rid of the
football and uh and act as if it was just
a bad punt, and then you know, put that nightmare
away and get out there and play good defense. The
problem is the Bills are scoring machine. I don't blame
Sean McVeigh for the decision. They need to stoke this
(01:12:41):
offense and get them going because they've been fairly pitiful
so far today in Buffalo. Yeah, so again, Bills leading
this game twenty one three. That's the only game of
the early games in which it's already in the second half.
Everything else, well, hey there, I say that there's no
halftimes anymore. Browns Washington foot ball team. They're already into
the second halt al Brown's leading this game by a
(01:13:03):
score of seventeen and seven. Baker Mayfield eleven and sixteen
hundred one yards a touchdown, No pis Nick Chubb already
fifty three yards on the ground. Haskins has thrown two
interceptions for the Washington football team. By the way, you
look at that NFC East right now, I mean the Eagles,
the Giants, the Washington Football Team Dallas. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
(01:13:27):
it has been. It has been. Uh it's the NFC
least right now, as far as I'm concerned, it's it's
been a struggle to watch a lot of sloppy play,
and frankly, from the quarterback side of it, outside of
Dak Prescott, Uh, there hasn't been a lot of good
quarterback playing. That's what this game has become about. If
you don't have at very least a competent quarterback, you
(01:13:48):
don't even have a sniff at a chance in this league.
All right, Eagles did get on the board. Let's hear
it wins. You have the gun motion, so here saw it.
It's Pernick. Let's Texas snap's back. He is hiring and
is complaint and run again for the touchdown. It's Greg
Ward w i P. Eagles Radio Network, Like, there's stunned, Like,
(01:14:11):
let's throw a touchdown pass. That game is at the
half right now, Eagles leading the Bengals thirteen to ten.
Back to this Washington Football Team Browns game, which is
in the third quarter. The main reason why the Browns
have such a point advantage ten points with control the
ball in the third here seventeen to seven lead in Cleveland.
As the turnovers, Haskins has turned over the ball twice himself,
(01:14:34):
throwing two interceptions and a couple of could be interceptions.
And also you had a fumble by one of the
running backs. Gave that back to the Browns, so a
lot more opportunities for the Browns with the football to score.
Look at this single Terry run right now for the Bills.
So they had a little short pass coming off, stopping
the Rams on fourth down and single Terry boy, he's
(01:14:56):
a dynamite back, I mean, makes some great cuts. Rams
look absolutely gas defensively. So the Bills already up twenty
one three and they got the ball inside the twenty
yard line. So a lot of bad tackling by the Rams.
Just a lot England all that's high earlier. A lot
of these defenders are are leaving their feet. You gotta
(01:15:18):
break down when you get close to Sam is seeing
things right now, aren't you? You should I just ignore
you to know Gavin's gone and the wheels fall off,
you know, highlight, and I'm like, oh, look at this. Yes,
I follow your lead, say I apologize. I had a
two point conversion that didn't happen. Uh bows there bo
Bow has been on on fire though, all right, but both,
(01:15:40):
I mean it's just upset about what happened in the
Norman massacre. Yeah, it's a it's a great football weekend
for me right now. Between I think what's happened to
Sam is We've had so much food here the last
couple of weeks and little mal nutrition, but he's got
famished and I don't have the nutrition to keep up
with these games. All right, So there you go, all right,
Buffalo again twenty one three, leading this game and driving
(01:16:03):
again on the rams. All right, we'll continue all of
our coverage of what's happening or maybe not happening in
the National Football League. But first award from Farmers. You
get a whole lot of something with Farmers Policy perks
so much I'm gonna have to speed things up. You
can get the Farmer's signal appen that could get you
up to off your auto policy. That's just for using
the app and driving like the normal speed limited hearing
(01:16:25):
full stop making lane James signaling human being. You are
get a whole lot of something with Farmers Policy perks.
Start with a quote by calling one eight hundred farmers.
We are farmers, not for the legal something available in
every stating discount areas only available with slight pharmosprantic policy
subdigence conditions under bringing the pharmostrup fire cheers exchanges are Affilian.
(01:16:48):
Alan takes a look as a pocket fires into the
end zone in ease caught caught in the end zone
for the touchdown Stefon Diggs touchdown. Buffalo w g Are
and the Bill's radio network. It is a route Bills
blowing out the Rams twenty eight to three. Bow, What
(01:17:10):
jersey are you wearing today? Jalen Ramsey's yeah, well he
lost Stefan Diggs on that. That wasn't good. The Rams
are gassed back to back East Coast trips as bad
as I thought it might be. We're coming alive from
the Geico Fox Morts radio studios were into the second
half of the early games on this NFL A Sunday,
(01:17:33):
But the most impressive team by far today has been
the Buffalo Bills. Josh Allen has three touchdown passes and
he has running for a touchdown, so he's already been
touted for m v P Honors fifteen and nineteen three
touchdowns Note picks and he has running for a touchdown.
(01:17:53):
The Rams are getting shell ACKed. Uh and talk about Diggs,
who the word this week was all about his out running,
his incredible veteran pred presidents, and his downfield threat for
the Bills and all that is true and great, But
you just mentioned it what he did against Ramsey and
the end zone. I'll play that Allen was looking to extend,
(01:18:13):
looking his way the whole way. I mean, his improvisation,
his ability to create, especially in such short spaces, is
what led to that those six points. Really, nice job
by Dick's great job for Alan to put it on
him in a tight spot too. Alright, the Falcons of
score Todd Gurley a ten yard run extra point is good.
(01:18:33):
So the Falcons extend their lead over the Bears twenty
three to ten. Atlanta. Can we say this one is
safe for Atlanta? Uh? No, no lead is saved for
the Falcons, the Falcons until further review. Actually I'm losing
this game, yes so, But we saw Robinsky in the
(01:18:54):
Week one three touchdown passes into the border against the
Lions to pull that game out for the Bears. Remember,
Bears come into this game too, and all the Falcons
are o and two. Alright, so taking a look around
right now, Cleveland the leading Washington seventeen to seven. Third quarter. There,
Houston is leading Pittsburgh one to seventeen, forty Niners over
the Giants sixteen to six. Uh still at half. I
(01:19:18):
don't know what that. You haven't extended halftime. In Philadelphia,
they're up thirteen ten over Cincinnati and Minnesota with the
ball right now, seventeen to nine against Tennessee. This is
an absolute must win for the Vikings having started the
season oh and to Dalvin Cooks had a big day
eighty eight yards on the ground. Make that ninety three
now and a score of Vikings leading the Titans seventeen
(01:19:39):
to nine. Let's go back to a Texans highlight. Here's
the snap, the shot growing left side of the end zone.
Watstoller has him touchdown Houston and the Texans retake the lead. Yeah,
Sports Radio six ten Texans Radio Network. That was the
Texans score right before they have to retake the lead
twenty one seven teen over the Steelers. That game is
(01:20:02):
now in the third quarter of eleven minutes to go
in the third still Texans leading Pittsburgh by score of
twenty one to seventeen to Shaun Watson has been great
fourteen of eighteen two o two two scores and no picks.
They're all right if you're the Rams right now and
you've already basically lost this game to Buffalo, What what
are you trying to do here the rest of this game? Well,
(01:20:22):
you gotta play catch up in a hurry. Here. This
is where the Rams actually look the worst is when
they are forced to throw the ball there wildly uncomfortable.
When they can't set up the pass game with the
run and use the play action and the rolling pocket
and the bootleg passing and get Golf on the move.
When he has to sit in the pocket and he
has to use his arm to guide you downfield, it's
(01:20:45):
not usually where they're most comfortable. So you're gonna see
a lot of him still under center and there you go,
bootleg pass, play action and he's looking for the easy
dumping catch and they're inside the tan yard line. So
the Rams have got the ball moving right now. One
thing about Golf, he is and love with Cooper cup Boy.
They got a connection going seven targets, six catches for
(01:21:05):
Cooper cup in this game for the Rams. So again
a quick score here, But you gotta play some defense.
I mean, the Rams haven't done anything to slow down
that Buffalo offense. I don't know if there's anything to
slow down the Buffalo Bills right now offensively because everything's working.
Singletary looks like he could, you know, rush for the
most yards this season. Alan's your m v P digs
(01:21:25):
is working out perfectly. They're getting some of these they
just short of the goal line right there for the Ram.
So they're gonna have a second and goal just inches
short of the goal line. Trying to get in this
game again. Twenty eight to three Bills. We've got five
and a half minutes ago in the third quarter, Buffalo
firmly in control. All Right, we're in. The guy called
(01:21:45):
Fox Sports Radio Studios. Is that another hour gone? What happened?
We just got time of apera. I mean, it is
unbelievable what's going on around the National Football League. Alright,
rolling on on this NFL Sunday, coming alive and the
guy go Fox Sports Radio Studios. Fifteen minutes could save
you fift cent or more on your car insurance. Physic
(01:22:06):
guy got dot com for a free rate quote. Alright,
So the Rams did get in the end zone golfa
one yard keeper bill. Still with the big lead at
home against the Rams one to go in the third quarter.
In that game, Pittsburgh got a field goal rich so
they are now trailing the Houston Texans twenty one to twenty. UH.
(01:22:27):
In that game, the Giants got their third field goal
of the game. They trailed the forty Niners sixteen to nine.
The Eagles got a field goal to stend their lead
to sixteen ten over the Bengals. And so we have
a very busy Sunday morning here, Sunday afternoon wherever you
might be listening early starts of the National Football League,
(01:22:48):
no question about a lot of offense. As we neared
halftime and the early goings in the second half across
the league, it looked like it was gonna be a
defensive Week three. For a little while there. It was
a massive slowdown from the onslaught of scoring we saw
in the first quarter Week two and so far. That's
actually a storyline that has followed us through the season
(01:23:11):
so far. UH scoring records being smashed early this year. Obviously,
as we mentioned top of the broadcast, the rest are
slower to pull the flags that's part of the league's
UH judgment, UH to make sure that these teams aren't
going to be penalized for every little thing, just the
egregious holding penalties, and that's both defensive and offensive, and
(01:23:34):
so far, I think it's leading to more competitive, better
looking football, because nobody likes to win the whistles ball
in all game long. Alright on game we're definitely keeping
our eye on is the Patriots and the Raiders. The
Raiders did score right before the half to pull within
thirteen ten. We're in the third quarter right now, Raiders
with the ball. Cam Newton, who started off rough five
(01:23:54):
or thirteen, did complete five of his last six passes
that led to the New England's care before they have
but the Raiders did come back to score again, So
it's thirteen to tend Patriots over the Raiders. You know,
last week the Patriots offense was working against Seattle, but
against Russell Wilson, who, by the way, before the game,
Belichick basically said is the best quarterback in the NFL,
(01:24:15):
and he showed it with five touchdown passes against what
many consider the best secondary in the NFL. With the
New England Patriots arguably so defensive Player of the Year
and Stefan Gilmore shutting down the side of the field
for the Patriots, and then mccordy playing that safety position
(01:24:36):
about as well as anybody. And there they've been a
lot of nickel and dime packages, uh defensively, so we've
we've seen the secondary really highlighted the first two weeks.
As far as the Raiders go, doing a nice job
really playing left handed. No Darren Waller targets throughout this
game so far, because the Patriots saw what car did
(01:24:58):
on Monday Night football against the sat It's where he
was wearing out there and Waller and so the Patriots
taking that away. Derek Hard doing a night shob spreading
the football round. All right, Patriots got the ball back.
They are right now in their own territory. And yes,
we've got Nick Foles in the game in Wow in Atlanta. Wow. Alright,
So Nick Foles is in for Trobinsky because of an
(01:25:22):
injury or let's see, they just decided I can lead
in this game twenty to ten. Trabinsky in this game
thirteen yards, uh, touchdown and no picks. He also had
a forty five yard run, So maybe they're just looking
for a spark right now. Of course, a lot of
people speculated one of the Bears got Nick Foles, that
(01:25:44):
Turbinsky was on the endangered species list, except the Bears
start the season two and oh and of course he
was the key in their Week one comeback. So this
is from Pro Football Talk on Twitter, Bear saying Mitch
Turbinsky is not injured. Nick Foles is in So this
was apparently either just a mistrust in Trabinsky to weed
(01:26:06):
their way back in Atlanta. That's interesting two weeks after
he let an incredible come back. Yeah yeah, so so
trailing by sixteen points in the third quarter, Well, maybe
they think it's hard. Do they think it's hard to
come back against the Falcons? Because I could tell them
it's not. I've I've seen a lot of comebacks against
the Falcons. Radar defense is just sacked. Cam Newton's this
(01:26:32):
Rader defense which really hasn't gotten a whole lot of credit.
And what is going on? The Rams are in the
end zone again. Happens to be in my fantasy team.
Yeah wow, we had just written the Rams off, but
they are throwing it right back in our face. Buffalo
had a twenty eight to three lead. Rams scored and
(01:26:53):
they have scored again. No penalties, so penning the extra point.
It is twenty eight to six. Team a little roll
out for golf to Robert Woods, and the Rams are
right back in this game. How far down was Atlanta
against Dallas a week ago? Well, Atlanta was up twenty
nine to ten at halftime, or you excuse me, that's right.
(01:27:14):
How far ahead was Atlanta? But they were twenty They
were up twenty nothing at the end of the first quarter,
twenty nine to ten at halftime, and they lost the game. Well,
remember again, they were up what nine? Right at the end,
they scored a touchdown, they had to go for the
on side kick and Atlanta watched it go ten yards
so that Dallas could fall on the ball. Yeah, I mean,
(01:27:36):
I still don't have any clue what was going on there.
So that is a special teams coach keep his job
after that. I look, it was just I mean there
were literally three If you watch, it was a spinning
It wasn't a bouncing ball. It was like a spinning ball,
so it was moving it like a glacier. Was never
You've never seen I truly, I I the last time
(01:27:57):
I can't remember a worst coach sina Ario in an
end of game moment. I mean that those are sort
of the things, the last coaching points you give, like
you dive on that football if you have a chance,
if it's still within They had three guys that all
I had to do is fall on the ball and
the game was over all right, we have a Washington
score and a missed extra point. So the Washington football
(01:28:19):
team Antonio Gibson two yard run Brown still leading this
game seventeen to We've got a touchdown in Washington as well,
or in San Francisco with a Brandon and Uk rushing
touchdown for nineteen yards there it is right there, so
penning the extra point right there at the four Nineers
extend their lead nine over the New York Giants. Meanwhile,
(01:28:40):
New England right now has got a first in goal
on the radar six yard line. New England leading this
game thirteen and ten and they are in touchdown. New
England looks like they gotta run play. Who was that
was that burkehead who ran that ball? Yeah, it looks
like looks like bad five yard touchdown run for New England.
(01:29:04):
Did he go down? Quiz to the line of scrimmage
or excuse me, the goal line. Yeah, diving in backwards
into the end zone after getting up ended by one
of the Raiders defenders. Looks like Jonathan Abram got a
hat on his knees and burkehead rolls backwards into the
end zone, and that'll be a score for the Patriots,
now leading this game by nine? Do I have that correct? Yes?
(01:29:26):
Uh so the Rams d get the extra point. Seventeen
bills now to fifty two to go on the third quarter.
Jared Goff fifteen two hundred three yards touchdown in the pick,
Henderson has a hundred and one yards on the ground.
Uh for It's interesting because we've been talking about singletary
for bubble, but it's Henderson who's been the leading ground
(01:29:47):
gainer in this game. Has a hunter one yards. Meanwhile,
here's the forty Niners latest score. Here's a end around.
Do I yoke with you? Check out to block? And
also Garland Carolina pick time block touchdown, San fran Cisco
frand didas first to the NFL get that rookie the rock?
(01:30:08):
All right, So there you go, canbr forty Niners Radio network.
The play is under review, it said, and I'm I'm
looking right. There was that play under review. Well, all
scoring plays are under a review. Oh no, No, they
did get the touchdown and they got the extra points.
So the forty Niners are leading the Giants twenty three
(01:30:30):
to nine, three minutes to go in the third quarter.
There it looks like Minnesota just got in the end
zone again against Tennessee. Uh, if I'm seeing this correctly, Yeah,
there is a touchdown and we had a short past. No,
there's a deep throw cousins just oh man, who got
(01:30:51):
behind the defense like that? But Tennessee just got clean beat.
It's about a seventy yard reception. We'll get a name
on the receiver in a moment. Hey, what, it's Jefferson.
This is the kid out of l s U. Right,
Justin Jefferson, one of these zillion players hot L s U.
So Justin Jefferson, the rookie out of l s U,
(01:31:12):
first round pick, second pick overall. Seventy one yard touched out,
extra point is good. So the Minnesota Vikings now lead
the Tennessee Titans twenty four twelve. And you're absolutely right.
A line aligned in the slot just clean beat his
defender the whole way. When you look at how many
players have come out of l s U from this
team from no no wonder. I mean, we're gonna look
(01:31:34):
back on l s U season. Remember, they beat more
Top ten teams than any team in the history of
college football. But it literally might be the greatest single
season team ever. I mean, I mean, when you look
at how these guys project to the NFL, it's crazy.
He's done a nice job recruiting obviously, L s U.
(01:31:55):
I mean, look, they had the best quarterback, no question,
at college receivers running back, that Laire, that Jefferson. I mean,
the list goes on and on. That's not even accounting
for their defensive players as well, who there were many
and many talented. Hey yeah, so Jefferson runs away from
the Titans defense. Twelve in Minnesota, Vikings finally looking like
(01:32:17):
they're showing life this season. All right, let's hear the
latest Rams score. Boots out right pressure in his face,
gets rid of it quickly, caught by Robert Woods downfield
of twenty cuts outside fifteen Woods, the ten gets a
block Robert Woods bucket buffalo touchdown l A Rams Radio
Networks and the Rams defense on third and three sack
(01:32:40):
Josh Allen. So suddenly the Bills have gone off the rails.
Look at the Rams right now, fired up on the sideline.
We're still in the third quarter right now, but they
sack Josh Allen on a third and three, so the
Bills are gonna have to punt the ball right back.
You don't see if this big man gets sacked, but
oh man, they are coming after him. That was off
(01:33:02):
the right side there, And if I got it right,
was that Leonard Floyd got into the backfield just clean
beat the tackle and Josh look at this punt field
position for the huge punt by the Bills all the
way down the three yard line. That was a bomb.
That was incredible. Okay, so the Rams will take over
inside their own two yard line. They trail right now
(01:33:27):
in Buffalo. That was like a seventy yard punt. Well,
it was an incredible punt. All right. We got the
Washington football team scoring to take the lead over the
Brown I believe that's the second touchdown reception by dantrell
in meant today. Yeah, don trell im in a former Charger,
(01:33:48):
by the way. Uh that is a touchdown pass from Haskins.
So the Washington football team now leading the Browns twenty
to seventeen. We got a minute forward eve to go
in the third quarter in that game. So in men
the final scoring place here as well. Catch up on
everything for you. That was a eleven yard touchdown pass
(01:34:10):
and the extra point was good. Joe Burrow just through
a touchdown pass. I didn't see to who, but they're
back on the board in Cincinnati there alright. So Cincinnati
in this battle of Titans against the Eagles, Bengals and
the Titans, and we do have a touchdown for the Bengals.
We get you an update there. Meanwhile, we have the
(01:34:31):
latest score for New England and I'm on the right way.
Fer Cat behind me. It takes the hat up, runs
and left, firt Cat twisted into the end zone with
a time a touchdown for the Patriots. Firt Cat for
the second time today, leaves his feet ninety eight point five.
The Sports Hub and the Patriots Radio Network, New England
Lee in that game on the Raiders. We are at
(01:34:53):
six and a half minutes ago in the third quarter.
By the way, if you have Tyler Boyd on your
fantasy team, you're very happy right now. Already has eight
receptions in ninety five yards by way of Joe Burrow passing,
and that was who just caught that most recent touchdown reception.
Of course, the players under review currently before it's tallied
(01:35:14):
here seventeen sixteen in Philadelphia, Bengals leading the Eagles. Yeah,
Higgins has both touchdown receptions for the Bengals today, Burrows
nineteen hundred seventy two yards and those two scores. So,
as you mentioned, Bengals now lead the Eagles seventeen sixteen,
two minutes to go in the third quarter. They're also
(01:35:35):
been sacked four times. I mean, what's absurd about Joe
Burrow so far in his young NFL careers, how well
he's playing in how little he's been protected. I mean,
he's been holding the ball. You know. Again, a lot
of times sacks are quarterbacks just trying to do too much.
There's no question about it. Look, there's no question about it.
But I had a philosophy my whole career that I
(01:35:57):
learned in New England. You block him forever, Yeah, I mean,
it doesn't matter. That's the that's the franchise never had
a quarterback just saying dude, come on now, I mean,
we can only hold them off so much. Get rid
of the ball. No, no, it was never the quarterback's
fault as an offensive, as an I mean between friends,
you may say, dude, I mean, what is he doing
back there? But when when a quarterback walked into the huddle,
(01:36:21):
you have to do what he needs you to do
for him and uh, and that leads to better well,
it leads for a better offense overall. All right, here's
the latest Minnesota score. Cousins from under center, goes back
to pass, straight drop passing right Jefferson, Yes, from the
run twenty and he is god touchdown by this dynamic rookie,
(01:36:48):
justin Jefferson. Here it is. We told you about it.
KFAM Minneapolis and the Vikings Radio Network. Another one of
the potential superstars that came from that unbelievable national championship
team of l s u uh last season. All right,
we're rolling along. Let's take a little breath right now.
We are getting close to fourth quarter action right now
(01:37:11):
with the early games in the NFL. Are complete coverage
continues coming up next, just over four minutes to go.
In the third ball at the half yard line, Dave
Henry left side touch that Titans Henry has scored on
what is his nineteenth carry up the game w g
(01:37:35):
F X one or four point five Titans Radio Network.
Titans trying to get back in this game against the
Vikings nineteen Vikings leading in this game. Once again, we're
coming from the guy Go Fox Sports Radio Studios. Did
you know the right now? Guy goes offering an extra
fifty percent credit on car, motorcycle and RV policies. That's
(01:37:56):
fifteen percent on top of what Geico could already save you.
So what are you waiting for? Save an extra fift
when you switch? By October seventh, visit guyga dot com
to learn more. Carson went through a horrific interception. We
just had the Bengals take the lead seventeen sixteen. So
the Bengals get the ball back and they're at the
(01:38:16):
fourteen yard line of the Eagles. They got a first
and Tim Burrow throws to the end zone incomplete. But
Carson Wentz just continues to struggle for an Eagle team
at home that losing to the Bengals at home. Wow,
that could be the lowest of low. Okay, A bunch
of things to catch everybody up on. We have our
(01:38:37):
first injury in this rams Buffalo Bills game where time
has been stopped in three quarters of playing this early
slate of games. It looks like hide is down on
the field for the Buffalo Bills. So that game goes
to break. But the Rams have gotten off the plane
and are officially playing football, and Buffalo they're trying to
make that a game. You're absolutely right about wins. I
(01:38:59):
don't know where his it is. Philly fans begging for
Nick Foles to double shift as a second starter in
both of those games. And then as far as what
we're seeing across the league today, uh, you know, a
lot of running out of New England, a lot of
passing out of Minnesota, finally showing signs of life. But
(01:39:19):
Derrick Henry scored the most recent touchdown in that game.
All right, let's get yet another highlight. Parolis under center
takes the staff fakes to mix and looking to throw
throw us into the end zone. Touchdown, Hey Higgins his
second touchdown. Catch up the afternoon and the Bengals have
a chance to regain the lead. Al right, So that's
(01:39:40):
Bengals Radio network there. So not only did the Bengals
take the lead seventeen six team, but they call the
got the ball right back after the Wentz interceptions. So
we've ended the third quarter Bengals leading seventeen sixteen. They
are at the Eagles thirteen yard line, a third and
ten coming up. New England did at a field goal.
(01:40:01):
They have now raised the lead to twenty three to
ten over the Raiders. We've got a minute to go
in the third quarter in that game, and the Titans
have just taken the lead over the Vikings. Did I
miss a touchdown there? We may have missed. Oh yeah,
rushing touchdown, a very long one from Derrick Henry. What
(01:40:24):
was that sixty sixty something yards up the No, no, no,
it's a one yard run. One one yard run from Derk.
So somehow they got the ball back. So we're gonna
have something happened there, because they just scored. They got
the ball back, They just scored them. Vikings possession, they
go three and out and punt and so it's first
and ten at the Tennessee thirty five and Ryan Tannehill
(01:40:48):
on two consecutive plays. Now, actually was all Henry al right,
trying to get it straight. Here's what we know. Derrick
Henry said, back to back one yard rushing touch here
they did go for a two points and miss Titans.
Raymond caught a long pass from Tannehill got them all
the way down to the Minnesota for two consecutive plays
(01:41:09):
by Derrick Henry rushes in the right So Tidans went
for two, did not get it. They lead now the
Vikings four. Meanwhile, Jared Goff touchdown Rams. Unbelievable. Cooper Cup
is in the end zone. This is one of the
most remarkable comebacks we've seen since, oh, I don't know,
last week with the Cowboys and the Falcons. This game
(01:41:31):
seemingly was over. The Rams were down twenty eight to three,
and now they have scored three touchdowns to get right
back in this game. Beautiful play. So what they did
is it was a play action passed as many of
these players are bootleg from golf, but it was a
beautiful play design they had. Cooper Cup looked like he
(01:41:52):
was blocking down, cracking down on a defensive end from
his wide receiver bunch set to the outside, and he
just streaks across the formation and virtually completely unguarded, catches
a pitch and catch and they're going for a two
point and they get it. A two point conversion for
the Rams. So it is twenty twenty five Buffalo, twenty
(01:42:13):
two unanswered points for the Rams, and we still have
ten and a half minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
Jared Goff finds Higbee back of the middle of the
end zone. They're in a five wide receiver set, and
it's just a slam pass from the slot. Higbee right
in front of the goal post, right underneath the goal post,
catches it. So that's an easy two for the Rams.
(01:42:35):
All right. So right now we've got three games that
are one point difference. We have another game that's a
four point difference. So we got a lot of games
that are gonna get very interesting as we head into
the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, the Bengals are lining up for
a field goal attempt. Randy Bolock had a forty eight
yard or earlier. This is following that Wentz interception. The
(01:42:55):
field goal attempt is good. So the Bengals now lead
twenty to sixteen over Philadelphia just at the start of
the fourth quarter in that game. But how about the
Titans coming all the way back? Bengals were, I mean,
we're talking about the Vikings as a team that desperately
needed to win. They had the lead, and all of
(01:43:15):
a sudden, the Titans have come all the way back.
So a game that the Vikings can ill afford to lose,
are already oh and two and uh now trailing the
Titans four. As we have come to the end of
the third quarter in that game, I got a couple
more touchdowns to catch up on with you guys. But
we've got Baker Mayfield hitting Harrison Bryant to give the
(01:43:36):
Browns the lead, and Jeff Wilson Jr. In San Francis.
Jeff Wilson Jr. With San Francisco putting on another touchdown
on the board for the Giants are terrible. Uh forty
Niners leading that game now twenty nine and nine. This
game is in New York. Of course, no State kwon Barkley.
Here's the worst part for the Giants right now. Without Barkley,
they were leading rusher is Daniel Jones. They don't have
(01:44:00):
a running back with over ten yards rushing in this game.
How bad is it gonna be for the Giants? Meanwhile,
let's hear that Tennessee score blast and game at fullback,
Henry at tailback, second and goal inside the one. Give
it to Henry, pick us flide for the air like Superman,
toutch Down Titan w g F X one or four
(01:44:23):
point five the Titans radio network. Alright, so we got
a lot of things going on. Where the guy go
Fox Sports Radio Studios. Let's find out what's trending right now.
Things are happening fast, Mr David gascon Man. It almost
feels like the NFL is like the NBA now or
it's just a game of runs, right Yeah, I mean
this ram run has been unbelievable. This day was over, Yeah,
(01:44:45):
they were, they were dead in the water. It was
three and uh now it's are they playing this game
in Norman, Oklahoma? I don't know, but Buffalo better get
their offense going again. It's the NFL is looking more
and more like the Big twelve, and so is the
rest of college football as well. Uh. Nick Chubb just
rushed in another score. Are you doing his update right now? Everybody,
(01:45:08):
we're in the gas go updown's officially this is the
Actually we give gas on a chance, Steve, you never
do that, never, like we're like a pig and slav on.
It's football. So it's all good man, It's all free
right here. Um, guys, you mentioned it with that game
going on to with the Browns Atlanta ten of Chicago.
(01:45:28):
Buffalo is trying to receive some momentum right now, but
it is l a coming within three to five. You
mentioned the TD run by Nick Chubb. He's got eight
teen carriers guys for a hundred nine yards and two scores.
So clearly the leads Washington thirty one to twenty. Josh
and just threw a dime right now? Is that two digs?
I think it was. He threw his throws it down
to the twenty two yard line. Titans lead Minnesota to
(01:45:51):
twenty four. They were down by twelve points late in
the third quarter. Patriots over the Raiders in San Francisco
comfortably right now to nine. Joe burrowing company, trying to
shock Philadelphia. Eagles were always under center. Takes the staff
fakes to mix and looking to throw throw it into
the end tone touchdown. He again his second touchdown. Catch
(01:46:14):
up the afternoon and the Bengals have a chance to
regain the lead. Man they had the lead twenty to sixteen.
Joe Burrow twenty one of twenty nine. Oh my, Aaron
Donald just sack Josh Allen and Alan is slow to
get up near the forty eight yard line and he's
got the ball in his hands. Donald, I mean, what happened?
The grand count calls a fumble, but I mean, Donald,
(01:46:38):
I mean Josh Allen went flying. Yeah, you did, um guys.
At one point in de Shaw Watson was eight for
nine on third down attempts. He threw an I N
T to Pittsburgh and now they're on the move. Started
the fourth quarter. Steel Here's down by one, twenty one
to twenty. College football AP top is out. It goes Clemson, Bama, Florida, Georgia,
(01:46:59):
and Notre Dame. Your top five. Ohio State's back in
it now, Auburn, Miami, Texas and Penn State. Those are
your top ten. Central Florida on the outside looking then
there too, No but they're at number eleven. Lots of
things to get to. I love Ohio States back in
even though they won't be playing a game for what
three weeks? Penn State, what happened? They dropped them all
(01:47:23):
and then they brought them all back, even though there's
still a month away from slaying the game. Oregon is
also in the top twenty five. They're ranked right now
at number fourteen. M one program. That's notably not in it.
The Iowa Hawkeyes, aren't they number twenty five to work out?
Look at they were, they were ranked. Why would you
(01:47:44):
drop them out of the ranking? They have been played,
why would that? Inside out? Looking pretty good, Farmy and
Louisiana have taken the place the Hawkeyes. All right, all right, David,
thank you very much. Once again, we're coming alive from
the guy. Go Fox Sports Radio Studios. Easy to say
more on the current insurance. You gotta go go to
GYGA dot com recall eight nd night for seven out
(01:48:07):
of the only hard part freaking out, which way is easier.
Let's hear that RAMS latest score opens up left, fakes
the handoff, steps up and throws lock the ball left side,
couple loaded space. He'll take it in for the touchdown.
The Rams will have a two point conversion to bring
it to a field goal. Deficits RAMS Radio network, and
they got that two point conversion. So what was once
(01:48:28):
a twenty eight to three Bills lead is now we
got to go. Now. The Bills were driving, but Aaron
Donald just absolutely blew up. Josh Allen, I mean, that
was just ridiculous. Bills were looking to run a play
action pass, and he chased the hip of his UH
offensive lineman and it propelled him right into Allen where
(01:48:52):
I mean he destroyed him. I was fourteen yards behind
the line of scrimmage. It looked like I don't have
the accurate account, but what a deep sack and what
what great timing for the Rams as they continue to
pile on some offensive inertia. Alright, the Patriots and the Raiders.
It is still twenty three to ten Patriots in this game.
(01:49:14):
That Patriot defense has been outstanding with The Raiders are
in a position right now inside the Patriots ten yard line.
They have a third and seven right now from the
Patriots nine yard line. They need a score right now,
eleven minutes forty eight seconds ago, and they throw a
ball that is well short. They got a fourth down,
(01:49:36):
so they're gonna have to go for a field goal. Meanwhile,
here's the Browns latest score. Mayfield under center, gives the
ball chups coming out to the left. He's getting led
by Wyatt Teller. He's at ted five corner, top down,
Nick Chop, He's done it again. He is amazing. What's
he got to the fifteen? He was god twenty yard
touchdown run by Nick Chubb, and the Brons are up
(01:49:59):
by ted again with the point after coming off all right,
Browns Radio Network got that extra point. Browns over the
Washington football team inside eight minutes to go. Nick Chub
hunter nine yards, two touchdowns. Mayfield has thrown two touchdowns,
no picks, three picks for Haskins today. So the Browns
looking to go to two to and one on the season.
(01:50:20):
Third down opportunity for the Buffalo Bill seventeen yards to
make the line of gain and they call a time out.
It looks like the Rams called the time out. Okay,
there you go, so they've used their second time out
of the second half again, the Rams trailing, uh scoring
some That seemed weird for the Rams to burn a
time out defensively with seven half minutes ago Leason with
(01:50:43):
one time out. They clearly didn't like the look. Um,
I guess the Bills lined aligned in a personnel grouping
or an offensive set they weren't prepared for. So they
catch their breath there. Uh today so far the Bills
three of seven on third on conversions and they're getting
their kick already. But uh, this is kind of the
(01:51:04):
same script. It's just a different week for the Bills
last week against the Dolphins soundly beating them, allowed them
back in the game and had to come back and win.
And so I don't know what it is about this
Bill's team, but in back to back weeks they're allowing
their opponent to creep back in and potentially take the lead.
And there's an offside penalty false start by the right
(01:51:25):
tackle for the Bills. So that'll be a third and
twenty or two. You're coming out of a time out.
I know it's the Rams time out, but you're coming
out of a time out and you have that. So
what was a third and seventeen is now third and
twenty two, which, by the way, Bills, and by the
(01:51:45):
way critical as far as a field goal position. The
reason why it was a hard count was to try
to grab five easy ones from the Rams so you
could be looking at third and twelve and potentially get
better positioning for your field goal kick. How does that
look for him in the film room? That's not going
to be presented well. On the sack and the ball
(01:52:08):
is stripped and the Rans have it is just ridiculous.
Sushing over the left guard got to Alan as fast
as you could possibly get to God, it was almost unimpeded.
He tears at his throwing arm on the Let's see
what the flag of the penalty call is. It's against offense.
(01:52:30):
Is that unsportsmanlike? Uh? Yeah, I may have been after
the play, maybe Wow, Yet Josh Allen no less unsportsmanlike.
Aaron Donald, the two time defensive Player of the Year,
is just killing Josh Allen right now. Just a quick
RiPP and swim over the left guard and he puts
(01:52:51):
down Alan gently. You know, considering how clean of a
shot he had at him. You cannot handle this guy
in the middle, this guy at twenty sacks as defensive
tackle one here, Yeah, and I mean you talk about
a guy with a ticket to Canton. So, Alan, frustrated,
gets the unsportsmanlike conduct on top of the air of
the fumble, and the rams down by three seven a
(01:53:13):
half minutes ago, are definitely in the driver's seats. On
three consecutive plays, Aaron Donald factored obviously the deep sack
on Alan, he pressured Allen on the dig's completion, and
then that third down final play uh caused the forced
fumble fumble recovery absolutely ridiculous. Alright, the Steelers have retaken
(01:53:34):
the lead on a James Conner twelve yard run. We
haven't talked a lot about this game. Has been a
quiet second half, but Pittsburgh uh and they got a
two point conversion, have taken a twenty one lead over
the Texans. Texans trying to avoid an oh and three
start to the season. That's your guy, Billy O'Brien. How's
he looking right now, Billy O'Brien. This is the the
(01:53:58):
year that he has to prove it. He's taken off,
he's assumed complete control of this team. Here, got rid
of DeAndre Hopkins, your general manager, he's your head coach.
If if they don't have what's even trending as a
good season, the Texans have to move on because they
give him full, full control. All right. So the Rams
are at the fifteen yard line of the Bills. They
(01:54:20):
were down twenty eight to three. Robert Woods runs the
ball inside the ten yard line. They've been using Woods
on a lot of end a rounds. A little misdirection here,
so the Bills are absolutely on their heels. Were inside
seven minutes to go. If the Bills blow this game,
I mean that this is first of all in the
history of the NFL, I can tell you this, there's
(01:54:42):
only a handful of teams that have ever blown a
point lead in the second half. Because remember they scored
to go of three in the third quarter, and the
Rams of rattle off twenty two straight points and they
are threatening again second and four at the Buffalo eight
yard line. Who's saw this one coming? I mean wow,
if Sean McVeigh and his coaching staph credit, they held
(01:55:05):
their team together and now they've gone the ball that
looks like a first down for the Rams inside the
five yard line. Well, this is this is the testament
to not good teams, but great teams. And it's too
early to really crown anybody this season yet. But when
a team is behind, how do they react. Are they
gonna fold it up and and head home for for
(01:55:26):
you know, licking their wounds, or are they gonna come
out just as if to score zero zero first quarter?
And that's what the Rams did. They made up their
mind at halftime, we're not going to be the same
team in the second half. And the proof is in
the pudding, and they may put it in the end
zone right here in this drive. Meanwhile, Minnesota has retaken
the league thirty to five over the Tennessee Titans. Kirk
(01:55:47):
Cousins short pass to root Off, three are touched and
they went for a two point conversion and failed. So
it's thirty to Minnesota desperately needs a win today, uh
leeing the Tennessee Titans still ten minutes to go in
the fourth quarter. In that game, we got a lot
of exciting finishes coming up here. I want to stay
here with this Rams series. Second in goal from the
(01:56:10):
three yard line. They handed off twice to Henderson up
the middle. Nothing doing their short gains, and so they're in,
you know, one of those bunched up formations you typically
see in the regular areas of the field. I predict
they're gonna come up a little bit short on this play,
and they are. Look at that prediction. Do you see
a lot of Rams motioning for the touchdown? The Henderson
(01:56:30):
is down short of the goal line, So it's third goal.
I can say that because I'm watching the game ahead
of you right now. Yeah. Oh on red zone TV. Yes,
and the Rams ups gotten in the end zone. Touchdown
Rams Darryl Henderson in the end zone. The Rams have
come all the way back from a twenty eight to
three deficit. They have taken a thirty one to late.
(01:56:54):
Is this about a Rams comeback or is this a
Bill's collapse? This is well both, I mean, and let's
be honest with each other. What Aaron Donald did on
that last series, It's almost as if the offensive lineman
were on a strike and then coming back and then
stubborn enough to run the ball three times inside the
five yard line with little success the first two rushes
(01:57:15):
and to get Henderson Jr. In the end zone. The
Rams just made a message and it was work here
for all of it, and we came all the way back.
Is good? It is thirty two the Rams four and
a half minutes ago. Well, Josh Allen, who you have
in the m v P conversation, UH can prove it
(01:57:35):
right now, absolutely, because when you have a collapse like
this has been, that's twenty nine unanswered points by the
Ramps to take the thirty two to lead. Alright, we're
gonna get to updated on that game. All the exciting
finishes around the National Football League. But first word from Farmers.
(01:57:57):
You get a whole lot of something with Farmers policy
perks so much I'm gonna have to speed things up.
You can get the claim pre discount, which gives you
money off your homeowners policy if you've been claimed free
for three consecutive years. Also wise for three successive years
for years Brighton and was noting to in jurance fancis
to claim free three peek get a whole lot of
something with Farmers policy perks start with a quote by
calling one eight hundred farmers are farmers not for the
(01:58:20):
legal something not available in every seat, only available to
slick farmers branded policies which terms and conditions under rated
by farmer struck a fire insurance exchanges are affiliate from
the pocket pressure in his face. Aaron Donald rents into
the turf and jumps on the football a striped sack
and Donald in the Rams takeover goth from under center.
He takes a snap back to Henderson and he puts
(01:58:41):
it in the paints from town twenty five. The Rams
take their first lead and with four thirty to go,
the Rams are on the high side. Thirty one twenty
eight and Buffalo Rams Radio Network, So twenty nine answered Ram.
The Bills just got a huge first down on a
(01:59:03):
third and twenty two. Josh Allen to Beasley. So the
Bills have the ball, We got two twenty three to
go in the fourth quarter, Bills trying to get in
the end zone again. They're down four in this game,
a game they led twenty eight to three in the
third quarter, but twenty nine unanswered for the Rams. So
(01:59:25):
but we've been watching Josh Allen. He's been getting very shaky.
We were talking off air about his playoff game where
he just completely unraveled. He started unraveled again, he got sacked,
but then came up with a big play on third
and twenty two for the first down. And uh, I'll
tell you this is gonna be an exciting finish right now.
(01:59:48):
Uh you know, by the way, New England just scored again.
So New England firmly in control. They did miss the
extra point though. Yeah. Against the Raiders in Foxborough. I
New England the whole way after watching the Raiders on
Monday night. The game plan was Darren Waller left there
and Waller right, Darren Waller all night against the Saints,
(02:00:09):
and you knew that they were going to take that
away from the Raiders in Foxboro. And so car without
a security blanket and the Patriots run game able to
control much of this clock. There just has been no
light for Las Vegas here New England. They're gonna know light.
Thirty six to ninety Niners leading the Giants. Mullins three
(02:00:30):
forty three yard passing in this game. The New York
Giants have no offense. They had a hundred seventy five
total yards in this game. So the Giants are gonna
go to oh M three getting blown at at home
by the forty Niners. Let's get back to this Bill's
Rams game right now. Second and five for the Bills.
They are at the Rams forty two yard line and
they are trailing thirty eight. We're coming up on the
(02:00:52):
two minute warning, and there is the two minute warning,
all right, so we got a time out on the field.
Bills got a lot of work to do. They can
to get in the end zone. The goal is not
gonna do anything for them. Down thirty two to Cleveland
has added a field goal to excrease their lead over
the Washington football team thirty four to twenty in this game,
(02:01:14):
so that game seems to be pretty well in hand.
The Bengals are leading Philadelphia twenty to six team and
they had the ball second and goal at the Eagles
eight yard line. So with five minutes to go, the
Bengals trying to put away the Eagles and rich. If
they lose that game, they would be oh and three
on the season. Yeah, Doug Peterson is a good coach
(02:01:36):
and he does a good job coaching a resilient team.
Remember they had to win four straight to enter the
place playoffs last season because nobody wanted to win the
NFC East and so they reluctantly did. But that Uh,
that that team right now, if they dropped to oh
and three, it could be a death now it usually
is on a season. How about the Falcons though, even
though Nick Foles comes in our quarterback, still holding the
(02:01:59):
lead twice any six to ten in Atlanta, but Bears
are driving. I you know again, he hasn't done anything
to tell you why they decided to put him in
instead of Turbinsky. Uh, Titan's got a field goal, so
they have cut the Vikings lead to two. Now thirty
to twenty eight, Vikings leading the Titans with five minutes
ago in the fourth quarter. Uh. If he had a
(02:02:22):
sense that we're excited about these finishes, Uh, that is
very accurate right now? Uh? And the and the good
news is when these games are we got five more
games and then we got a sunny again. We're on
what we call NFL overload. As we sit here in
the Guy Go Fox Sports Radio Studios. We're gonna get
to all the exciting finishes around the National Football League
(02:02:44):
coming up next and we're coming alive and the guy
Go Fox Sports Radio Studios. Fifteen minutes could save you
fifteen cent mart and the curR Insurance. There's a guy
got dot com for a free rade quote. All right,
we got a fourth and nine right now for the
Buffalo Bills. They had ay to three lead twenty nine
on answer for the Rams. We just saw somebody you've
never seen before. A quarterback called for a face mask
(02:03:05):
trying to escape the rush. Josh Allen was getting a
little frisky with his left hand holding the ball away
from a defender face mask force a third and he
wrestled someone down a long pass up the middle to
create this fourth and nine, twenty five seconds to go
in the fourth quarter. This is at fourth and nine.
They need a first down. Remember they can get a
(02:03:28):
first down eventually, they would have to get in the
end zone. Rams are out of time outs. Allen is
looking over the middle. He throws the ball in complete,
complete and wait a second flag and it could be
a defensive hold. That was a flag? How late was
that flag? Was that a defensive hole passing and the
(02:03:50):
defense that's gonna be a first down inside the five
yard line up the Rams Sarius Williams. Unbelievable call get
called for It was a late flag. Let's watch what
happened here on the replay, he's lying to give the Bills.
Oh wow, yeah, yeah, too much contact? Wait much? You
(02:04:13):
are allowed to have your hands on a receiver inside
five yards? That was That wasn't five yards? No, no, no, no,
that pushed off the Bill yard. Didn't receiver push him off?
You can't. You cannot face guard in the NFL. You
cannot face guard in the NFL. So the Bill setting
up shop on the third there's only nineteen seconds left.
(02:04:34):
Alan throws to the end zone and it is good.
No my Tyler Croft with his second touchdown reception of
the dead sealer against the Rams. Fifteen seconds left on
the clock. And here's the problem. The Rams have used
all their time out, so they're down thirty two. Important
(02:04:56):
extra point coming up for Buffalo. But we were talking
about Josh Allen trying to somebody calm him down. I mean,
he was so erratic, trying to just hold himself together.
And now he throws a pass into the end zone
for the touchdown and the Bills have retaken the lead.
Fifteen seconds to go. Big extra point coming up right
(02:05:20):
now for Buffalo, but the Rams have no timeouts when
they get the ball back. But wow, I mean, I'm
trying to figure out is that is that even more
heartbreaking for the Rams having come all the way back
to take and losing as opposed to just getting blown out.
The extra point is good when two Buffalo the win
(02:05:43):
was yours. You got to taste it. Everybody talking about
they're talking to Pereira right now about that past interference call.
I'm sure, and buddy Mike Pereira saying, look like p
I to me, look, when you have contact on a
receiver beyond uh five yards as much as you saw
(02:06:03):
there with Williams locked up with I believe it was Digs.
I mean, you gotta get your hands off him. That's
the deal. We're watching to replay again, holding him, holding him,
and they receiver pushes away to get free and then
I don't I don't know Pereira is calling that. You
know when you know when uh, an offensive woman is
(02:06:25):
guilty of holding, you know, in a defensive back is
guilty when he holds his hands up like you put
your pumps to the sky and you go, wasn't me, Yeah,
it was you, and you just put a target on yourself.
So that was p I. He knew it, the ref
knew it. The flag came in and the Bills just
a lot of comeback after the Rams let their own
come back late in the fourth quarter. Unbelievable, all right,
(02:06:47):
So the Bills will obviously kick off right now to
the Rams. We've got fifteen seconds to go and the
Bills have a three point lead. Again, the Rams have
no timeouts left. They used them all defensively in the
set in half, and there is the kickoff squip kick.
Rams will pick it up right now and you've got
to get down and they do. So there's eleven ten
(02:07:10):
seconds to go and the Rams need a miracle, all right. Uh.
New England by the way, at end, So this was
a game that was close for a while. Now it's
all New England thirty six to thirteen. New England blowing
out the Ram the Raiders two hundred and fifty one
yards rushing for New England in this game, So you know,
(02:07:33):
New England, UH probably thought for a second there, Hey,
we got a chance to tie up the Bills in
the standings. But looks like Buffalo, barring a Rams miracle,
is gonna hang on to move to three and oh
on the season. We'll say this about Josh Allen uh
in the fourth quarter, as was on display today, there
are still things you need to tighten down, but twenty
(02:07:53):
four thirty three passing three hundred eleven yards through the air,
and many of those deep passes, especially in the fourth
quarter on those third and third on twenty five that
he completed to get them back in this thing, and
four touchdown pass. Rams are doing the fifty lateral play.
I mean you're talking about look at this, your league's MVP.
Right now. They have already lateral six times and the
(02:08:16):
game is over. That's it. So the Buffalo Bills have
come back after blowing a twenty eight to three lead
to beat the Rams thirty five to thirty two, and
Buffalo is now three and oh on the season. Meanwhile,
the Titans have just kicked a field goal. Gustkowski fifty
(02:08:39):
five yard field goal inside two minutes to go on
the fort to get the Titans a thirty one to
thirty lead over the Vikings. We gotta get that game on, guys,
look for that game right now, that Tennessee Minnesota game.
One to go on the fourth quarter, Titans have taken
a thirty one lead and the Vikings will get the ball. Getskowski,
(02:09:01):
who you mistakenly thought had missed another extra point, But no,
your man Getskowski today has been spot on. He has
had a tremendous game today. But that's a fifty five
yard field goal to give Tennessee the lead. An unbelievable
job by Goskowski, by the way, bouncing back from what
was an ugly Monday night start to his his season
(02:09:25):
has really been steadfast. How about this, we're talking about
the Bears down twenty six to ten of the Falcons.
How about twenty twenty three. Now, two touchdown passes by
Nick Foles has brought the Bears back within three, so
they had a two point conversion attempt that failed. They
(02:09:48):
did get another touchdown Allen Robinson thirty seven yard score
from Folds, So suddenly the Falcons They can't collapse again,
can they? Twenty six twenty three Falcons four fifteen to
go in the fourth quarter, back to back touchdown passes
by Nick Foles. Yeah, I I don't know. I don't
know how he does it. But Nick Foles, this speaks
(02:10:11):
to his preparation as as a backup, as an understudy.
He walks into games and the offense is that he commands,
never miss a beat. They just appear to understand who
he is. He understands the offense and he knows who
to get the ball to. It's just an incredible job
by Foles stepping in down by as much as the
Bears were making this ball game twenty one seconds ago
(02:10:33):
to the fourth quarter and the Eagles have just tied
up the Bengals twenty three all in that game, that
game could well go to ot unbelievable finish, like one
of these games. I apologize. I'm struggling to keep on
speaking in to the microphone. Matt Ryan testing the depth
(02:10:54):
of the Bears defense and that ball falls incomplete. The
Calvin ridd Oh no, no that was that was not
really but he was testing the depth of that Bears
defense on a long third down throw. And he overshot it.
Otherwise that six points, all right, So let's try to
get our bearings for a second here, let's go so
we all the Bills have beating the Rams. But right
(02:11:14):
now the Minnesota Vikings, who are winning this game and
need to win because they're oh and two on the season,
are trailing the Titans thirty one to thirty. And the
Vikings have the ball and Kirk Cousins was under drest
right there incomplete. Meanwhile, what apterception after the long third
(02:11:36):
coun try by Ryan Atlanta had a pint? There is
a flag on the return we have. So the Bears
who were down in this game twenty six to ten,
and you're thinking to yourself, there's just no way that
the Falcons can collapse again. And the Falcons are collapsing. Yeah,
the Falcons are in rough shape right now. Three in
(02:11:58):
Atlanta Bears football with less than four minutes remaining on
the clock, and and it looks like an unnecessary roughness.
One of the Falcon special teamers takes a shot at
the Bears return or while he was already on the ground,
and Keith Smith is charged with the personal foul. Sam
Darnell just threw a pick six to start the game
(02:12:18):
for the Jets. Well, so the Jets drew off to
a very Jets start, really a very New York Is
turnover machine. Their offense is struggling in while Justin Herbert
gets swamped by Carolina on his opening drive, fourth down
for the Chargers. So Justin Herbert getting the surprise start
a week ago, played extremely well against the Chiefs. But
(02:12:42):
you get a sense Carolina has got a little film
on this kid, and he held the ball and he
got sacked early punt for the Chargers, and we see
a little Philly special magic down in Atlanta by way
of Chicago with Nick Foles back in the game leading
the comeback against these Atlanta falcon who got come back
on last week by the Dallas Cowboys and gave it
(02:13:04):
up on the last second field goal on Nick Foles
operating out of five wides. Right now, and Steve, I
mean the NFL this year, I think it has turned
into the spread college football that we're used to seeing
on Saturdays. The points over the Tennessee Titans have defeated
the Vikings thirty one to thirty. So the Vikings blow
(02:13:27):
a late lead to fall to oh and three on
the season. Tennessee is three and oh. The Titans beat
the Vikings thirty one to thirty. In this game, Ryan
Tannehill did not throw a touchdown pass. He did have
three d twenty one yards passing, Derrick Henry hundred nineteen yards,
two scores. Dalvin Cook had a hundred and eighty one
(02:13:48):
yards rushing and a touchdown. Cousins three touchdown passes but
two picks. The Vikings are now oh and three. Al Right,
so we're watching this Bears game against the Falcons. They
are three minutes and counting in this game. We just
saw David Montgomery up the middle on an inside zone. Uh,
he carried it for about eight yards there. So it's
(02:14:08):
first intend Chicago at their own thirty five yard line.
Do I got that correct? Uh, it's been a good
day for Montgomery, or excuse me, it hasn't been a
great day for Montgomery. It's been a great day for
foals fourteen seven passing one through their two touchdowns and
a pick. But he's only played less than a half
of football so far. All right, So, no, they're at
(02:14:30):
the thirty yard line of No, they're on the other
side the way on the other side, So it's now
at the thirty yard line. Right now, Folls looks to
the end zone, out of bounds. All right, that's right,
the personal foul on the punt that got them over
the fifty. Al Right. I hate to do this, but
here's what we do. We take a little time out right,
(02:14:50):
we're gonna get to the finish of this Bears Falcons game.
Can the Falcons avoid another collapse? You're gonna find out
coming up next, wwints looking, rush comes, he steps up.
He is dashing to his right, still dashing. He's gonna run,
(02:15:11):
He's gonna dive. He's in touchdown. Carson once w i
P Eagles Radio Network that Carson went scramble was a
heck of a run. Tied the game senate to overtime,
and right now it is tied twenty three all Bengals
and Eagles. Seven minutes ago in the o t Meanwhile,
(02:15:33):
it's happened again. The Falcons blew a twenty nine to
ten lead last week, and they have blown a twenty
six to ten lead today. The Bears have taken the
lead over the Atlanta Falcons. Let me ask you this,
how does Quinn survive this? I mean, how is it possible.
(02:15:57):
Nick Foles comes off the bench. Honestly, it was he
hadn't done much right, like nothing was really happening. It
was still twenty six to ten going into the fourth quarter.
And now Nick Foles has thrown three touchdown passes and
the Bears have a thirty to lead inside two minutes
ago in the fourth quarter. Nick Foles should run for
(02:16:19):
vice president. I mean, what planet are we on? This
guy is incredible off the bench. We saw in Philadelphia
the city won their first Super Bowl when he comes
in after Carson Wentz goes thirteen win on the regular season,
wins them all on the postseason, and you got the
Philly Special memory, which was a special one because he
(02:16:40):
called the damn play. And then he goes to Chicago
after being on the bench last year and he comes
in the first action he season. Week three is to
come all the way back against the Falcons. Now matt
Ryan's got the ball, yes and one three to go
and see time outs? Yeah, they got time. I mean
they're at starting at their own twenty five yard line,
plenty of time for Mattie Ice. But uh, and he's
(02:17:02):
got a quick completion for a first down. So this
game is far from over. But again, they're down four
in this game. But we had the similar situation earlier
with the Bills, who were down four after blowing a
huge lead to the Rams, and the Bills came back
and pulled the game out. So let's see what Matt
Ryan does right now with his Falcons. He's gonna get
another first down. So two passes, two first downs, and
(02:17:26):
the Falcons are on the move. All right, overtime twenty three.
All right, now Bengals get the ball. Looks like there's
gonna be a holding call against the Bengals. Yeah, yeah,
you got Tyler Boyd or excuse me, t Higgins up
the sideline. Burrow finds him as he's rolling away from pressure,
but there's a flag late in the backfield he tackled him. Yeah,
(02:17:46):
it's a holding call on the Bengal, So that negates
the Higgins reception. Alright. Early on Carolina got a field goal.
Uh and early in their game against the Chargers, justin Herbert,
the rookie out of Oregon getting a second start. Of course,
we didn't expect him to start last week. This week
he will start and has started. So the Chargers have
the ball down three nothing we mentioned earlier. Indianapolis off
(02:18:08):
to a quick seven nothing laid on a pick six
against the Jets and the ball is intercepted by the Bears.
Is that yeah, the the game is over. The Chicago
Bears in the second half all the way back to
beat the Falcons thirty to twenty six, and with a
minute left in regulation, Matt Ryan throws a high deep
(02:18:32):
pass intercepted by the Bears. So they'll kneel on the football,
all right. Meanwhile, the Chargers right now, Justin Herbert went
back to pass and the ball was knocked out of
his hand. Is that a fumble? That is a fumble.
It's tough to tell that fumble. It was right at
the point where his arm. Boy, it's tough to tell
(02:18:52):
because it also went forward. Watched this, Yeah, they're looking
at this play right now and they called it alright,
they're reviewing this place. So basically, this was wasn't quite
the tuck rule. I mean, his his his his arm
was moving forward. He wasn't looking to tuck you and
the ball was knocked out of his hand as he
(02:19:14):
was trying to throw the ball forward. Night job by
the Carolina Panthers pass rush came from the blind side
behind Herbert. Here's a tough call. I mean the ball
was literally just as he was starting to move his
hand forward, the ball was knocked out of his hand.
The ball went forward. There's a different angle on this one. Wow,
it's right. That is a tough guy. I don't know
(02:19:37):
what the ruling is on that, because it seemed like
he was starting to move the ball forward, but just starting.
Here's here's what I think. Okay, that's who I think.
I saw the defender's hand come down, and I saw
the ball come from They gave it to Carolina. That
is a fumble, right, and that gives Caroline a great
(02:19:59):
feel position. And again already leading three nothing. And this
is some of the concerns that Anthony Lynn, who last
year saw Philip River's second league in interceptions. He doesn't
want quarterbacks to turn the ball over. Uh, and he's
got a young quarterback obviously feeling pressure. Meanwhile, that charge
of defense is a good defense, very good, very good defense.
(02:20:20):
Although they're missing Melvin Ingram for three weeks. Yeah, yeah,
they'll he'll be out for a little bit here. And
he's a bookend passer on Shara side. Joey botsa. But
it's a deep defense. They have replacement parts at all
levels of this defense. The only weak point is linebacker.
They improved that obviously in the draft with Kenneth Murray.
So we'll see how they hold up against Carolina. Hey,
(02:20:42):
we got good news for Jets fans. They scored. How
about that Jets have tied it up a sixteen yard
passed Sam Donald to Barrios right there, so seven seven
Jets and the Colts about five minutes ago in the
first quarter in that game. All right, we're keeping her
eye on this overtime right now, five and a half
minutes to go. Bengals and Eagles tried at tight a
(02:21:05):
twenty three right now and it is Philadelphia with the
ball five and a half minutes to go in the
o t Yeah, and the Eagles. Look, they've struggled this
whole season. That's no, uh, that's no, nothing's nothing's new
there as far as what we've seen at a Carson
Wentz in this offense. The offensive line though, has suffered
(02:21:26):
many injuries and they've struggled to protect ones. So as
much as we want to condemn him for his poor play,
he hasn't had a lot of time in the pocket.
Although on this play perfect pass, hurts on a gorgeous
touch bad pass that was good for about twenty yards
in the first down. Alright, So that puts them in
position right now at midfield. All right, So let's go
(02:21:50):
to this unbelievable finish of the Bears of victory over
the Falcons. They throw us, he said, he the touch down.
Let me know the episode. How beautiful prow ballad. The
Bears have the lead, Bears the first lead of the day.
Here's the snap. Ryana throws it down the right side
(02:22:12):
playing field. He intercepted, Bears have taken it away. W
BBM News Radio seven eight a m. And one of
five point nine FM Bears Radio network. So first the
third touchdown pass for foals in the fourth quarter until amazing.
They've had two games now where they get three touchdown
passes in the fourth quarter. Tobisky in the first game
against Detroit today with fulls as the Bears moved to
(02:22:36):
three and oh on the season. The man that runs
our board during the week, Brent Sperry, He's gonna be
a very happy guy. Bears fan. Uh and and now
a Folds fan. I imagine because after kneeling on the ball.
The Bears. You see Folds and Matt Ryan hugging it
out at midfield, and Dan Quinn, if there's a hotter
(02:22:57):
seat in the NFL, point to it, because looks like
the Eagles are driving right now on the other side
of the fifty yard line against the Bengals and ot
and all they need is a field goal to win
this one. So Peterson may climb out of the seller
at one and two if, if the Eagles can pull
off this victory. But the Falcons, what a rough start
(02:23:18):
to their year. Al right, games just starting right now
Seattle and Dallas and already a sack for Dallas against
Russell Wilson. Yeah, but then Seattle runs the ball. Looks
like they may have almost picked up a first down
on that one there, So that game is just starting.
Also getting underway right now, Tampa Bay on the road
against the Denver Broncos. The Broncos will have the ball
(02:23:41):
first in that game. By the way, we were talking
off air about Rob gren Colsi's comeback with Tampa. This
may not happen. Yeah, it's uh. I mean, he was
kidding this week that he was brought into block um
not for nine million dollars that they're paying him this year.
They were hoping to get the grounk of old. Uh,
and maybe he'll get his legs. But right now he's
(02:24:04):
They were expecting the gronk of old, and they got
old gronk. You know, because you're absolutely right, he's playing
himself into shape right now, and he's looking his age
and his injury because it just has not been the
smooth transition out of retirement back into play. And you know,
look the Buccaneers, they got a lot of kinks to
work out. We saw this when Arians took over in
(02:24:26):
Arizona and Carson Palmer was his quarterback. There was a
year lag they need he needed to catch up to
what Arians wanted him to do, and he threw a
ton of interceptions. Then year two it really exploded. Are
we gonna see that the same out of Brady? Does
the experiment lasts long enough to see that out of Brady?
We'll find out, all right, So we got a second
and nine team for the Eagles. Right now, they're still
(02:24:47):
in their own territory. Uh, we're running out of time
in this overtime. Remember if we get to the end
of overtime, we got ties in the National Football again.
The Eagles, with three minutes to go in the over time,
are facing third and nineteen. I believe that their own
forty seven yard line. Dude, that that sounds like a
shop you might have opened in downtown filming. We got
(02:25:09):
ties and to see that on the football field, but
we might be staring at one right here. Philadelphia obviously
in need of a win in the worst way. Cincinnati really, frankly,
nobody's expecting very much. Even though Zach Taylor's second year
and they were abysmal last season. They're in the middle
of a rebuild. You got Joe Burrow your franchise quarterback.
(02:25:30):
Now you're gonna have to draft well up front to
protect him, clearly. But the Philadelphia Eagles, they have their
franchise quarterback, Carson Wentz, needs to win, all right. I
don't know what they Chargers were looking at their review
to play on a fumble that wasn't a fumble. Clearly
the ball the runner was down. I think it was
Bridgewater scrambling, and so Carolina has the ball at the
(02:25:52):
Chargers eight yard line. E first in goal. By the way,
Justin Herbert in this game is over one passing with
two sacks. Um. So you know you talked earlier about
quarterbacks holding on the ball. You would never blame a quarterback.
But I'm watching a rookie right now again trying to
make too much out of a play, get rid of
(02:26:14):
the ball. No, no, I'm not arguing with you. I'm saying,
as an offensive lineman, you never blame the quarterback. But
when you observe Joe Burrow, when you observe Justin Herbert,
if we get an opportunity to observe too at some
point in the season, rookies will pat the ball and
they'll stare around the yard as if they have time
to this college they had time to. It's a different thing.
(02:26:37):
You have tight windows and you need reaction time. Bridgewater
setting up shop at the nine yard line looking for
some help downfield, and he finds an outlet receiver Davis again.
He seems to be there again. McCaffrey is out for
the Panthers, Mike Davis. So they're trying to get something
out of Mike Davis. Uh so, three nothing Caroline in
(02:26:58):
this game. Meanwhile, we now have a fourth down for
the Eagles, three oh three to go, so they're gonna
have to punt uh in this overtime. Right now, game
is tied at twenty three, and we're gonna see if
Joe Burrow is gonna be able to do something with
this ball. Otherwise we could be staring at our first
tie of the season. The punt is away and the
(02:27:22):
Bengals will get the ball starting at their own eight
yard line to to go. You only need a field goal.
You only need a field goal. That said, all right,
the Chargers have held, so it's a fourth and goal
for Carolina. And again this defense with the Chargers is
(02:27:42):
coming up big. There was a lot of questions last
week when they decided in overtime to give the ball
back to Kansas City, and of course Bucker ends up
hitting three. We've done it again. We've done it again.
We've we've lost track of the clock. So for David
Gascott is standing but I can't stop talks to go
to trending, my friends, please take it away. I don't
(02:28:05):
know what to do. I don't know where to go.
That Tampa Bay just blocked the Denver punt and they
have the football the Broncos ten yard line going in
right now, there is no score this ball game is
on Fox and the Fox Sports Go app. Joe Buck
and Trey Aikman are in Seattle, Seahawks and Cowboys. There's
no score in that game. As you guys mentioned Philadelphia
and Cincinnai. It's tied at twenty three apiece. There's under
(02:28:27):
three minutes to play in the extra session. Minnesota came
from behind to pull off ours. Give me. Tennessee came
from behind to pull things out of Minnesota. Tannahill takes
a knee again, and that is gonna do. Titans trailed
here today twenty four to twelve with eight minutes to
go in the third quarter, and they looked done, done, done,
(02:28:50):
and yet they decided to pick themselves up, dust themselves off,
and go win a game to get to three and
oh oh, how dramatic it is. And the type radio
now where thirty one thirty was the final score. Dalvin
Cook and a losing cause twenty two carries a d
eighty one yards and also a touchdown. Raiders are undefeated
no more. They get blasted by New England thirty six
(02:29:10):
to twenty San Francisco thirty six nine at the New
York Giants. Pittsburgh's three and oh they dupped Houston one
Texans or oh and three this season jetson Colts seven
apiece Carolina six is nothing over the Chargers, Lions and
Cardinals underwhether there's no score, gentlemen of the nightcap should
be a good one Packers and the Saints. No Michael
(02:29:31):
Thomas in that one? All right, thank you very much.
David once again coming alive and the guy go Fox
Sports Radio Studios. He's a say fiftent a morning Current
Surance and get go go to guyga dot com or
call eight and a night for seven otto. The only
hard part figuring out which way is easier. So Rich,
we got the Falcons on and three, the Vikings on three,
Texans oh and three. Wow. I mean, I didn't expect
(02:29:53):
the Texans. I figured they put up more of a
fight than we saw there. But but how about it?
I I mean, the Falcons is the story, the back story,
back to back weeks, commanding leads at halftime, giving it
all way in the second half. And I don't know
what's gonna happen with Dan Quinn, but I'm certain that
he's thinking about it on the drive home from that
(02:30:15):
beautiful new stadium that was empty today yeah, exactly. All right. So,
as we mentioned, we got several games underway, and we're
keeping our eye on this overtime game. Right now. We're
at the two minute warning in overtime. There's no double overtime.
Second and sixteen for the Bengals. At this point with
the Bengals, you're almost thinking what what would be better?
(02:30:37):
A tie or a loss. I mean, you're at your
own fourteen yard line. You got your rookie quarterback out there.
The last thing you need is a turnover at this point.
And Burrow is throwing the ball and he posted, Wow,
that was a defensive play. Great defense as well. A
little underthrown, but not too bad. We got a touchdown
(02:30:58):
in the Tampa Bay Denver game, Tom Brady to Chris Godwin. Alright,
so after the blocked punt for Tampa Bay, the Buccaneers
have taken the lead there. Yeah, nice pass by Brady.
Uh you know, tight throws tight windows down there at
the goal line and he finds Godwin, who just hit
the pylon with the tip of the football front corner
(02:31:19):
of the end zone for the score. Alright, the Allions
have kicked the field goal, taken early three nothing lead
on the road against the Arizona Cardinals. Meanwhile, the Dallas
Cowboys are on the move at the twenty six yard
line is Seattle. We also have a fourth down right
now for the Bengals. All right, so we got one
(02:31:39):
and Burrow gets sacked on third and seventeen or whatever
that Well, unless they get a big punt here, they're
gonna get the ball. Yeah. Yeah. The Eagles really benefited
from that three and out performed by their defense. Carson
Wentz may get another crack at playing hero here in
overtime and finally digging Philadelphia with the whole they put
(02:32:02):
themselves in early this season. The Carolina Panthers got a
second field goal after the turnover, so it's six nothing
Panthers leading the Chargers right now. The Chargers are trying
to get their rookie quarterback going a little quick pass
just to get a completion. Smart move right there, all right,
So one ago in the overtime, the Bengals will be
(02:32:24):
punting out of their own end zone after a fourth
and twenty three. I guess Joe Burrow didn't have the
magic for this one, but the Eagles should get the
ball in pretty decent condition right now. The punt is
out and it is not a great punt, So the
Eagles will get the ball at their own forty five
yard line, plenty of time, one to go. They need
just a field goal to come away with their first
(02:32:46):
victory of the season. Yeah, the big deal there here
is obviously no interceptions, no fumbles, protect the football, but
also don't take sacks because you are in this situation
where just what I don't yards gets you within field
goal range. So as long as Carson Wentz in, the
Eagles offense are careful with the football. Uh, they're looking
(02:33:08):
at a win here. Just watch Justin Herbert make a
big throw of getting pressure and everything else. Made a
throw getting in the Chargers in your midfield. There all
cross midfield. Um. But oh and we got a late flag.
The heck happened on that play. I'm not trying to
figure that one out. Becklo just took the ball, he
went out of bounds, and then all of a sudden
the flight flags. Just fine, you know, there's just no
(02:33:28):
reason for it, all right, Eagles. Yeah, they're on the
march right now. Miles Sanders catch a swing pass to
the sideline, steps out of bounds to preserve the clock
at second and three, getting nearer the fifty yard line. Alright,
trying to figure out what happened here? Is that a
personal foul on Carolina pushing a running back out of
(02:33:48):
bounds may have been considered too late, But it looked
like he held up Thompson from the linebacking position. Looks
like he'll tell you what if that's a penalty? I mean,
come on, and that cannot be. It's a hold on
the tight end, Virgil Green. So the Chargers will march
back ten alright, we gotta run up the middle by
the Eagles and Miles Sanders out past midfield and they
(02:34:12):
have the ball out to the forties seven yard line
of the Bengals right now. Alright, so go clock is stopped.
Twenty three all Eagles and Bengals in this overtime. Again,
the Eagles were trailing in this game twenty three to sixteen.
Carson Wentz scrambling around, got into the end zone for
(02:34:34):
the time touchdown. Both these teams coming into this game
oh and two, and the Eagles for one, especially in
what is a very winnable division, I mean Washington football team.
They lost. The Giants are awful, and you know Dallas
is okay. Well, yeah, they're they're right now. Dallas is
(02:34:57):
looking okay, But I mean and Dallas looked very okay
for most of the season last year and the end
of the season, they gave it all away. Right now,
they lead three nothing in Seattle eight minutes ago in
the first quarter. Uh so it's gonna be Jake Elliott
who's gonna have to be the hero here today? As
the Eagles offense sets up first intent, I mean, unless
(02:35:18):
they get in the end zone touchdown? When's this game
right now? There's a play under review? So this game is,
this game is gonna end after all the afternoon games
the wait, this overtime is going right now. Meanwhile, the
Chargers got something going right now, will swing past Austin
Ekeler picks up about thirty yards, so the Chargers down
six nothing to Carolina. Uh Ekeler, boy, he's on my
(02:35:38):
fantasy team. I love that guy. You can do so
many things. He piles up a former free agent. Not
a bad pick pick up for the Chargers. All right,
we're in the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios. We got
much more still to come, including the conclusion of overtime.
But first, a word from Farmers. You get a whole
lot of something. With Farmers policy works so much, I'm
(02:36:01):
gonna have to speed things up. You can get new
car replacements, or if your car is total, Farmers will
pay to replace it with a new one of the same,
making up like were uniting with an old friend, but
he had a benefit of that new car smell. So
it's really new car and new car smell replacement. Get
a whole lot of something with Farmers policy. Perks start
with a quote by calling one eight hundred farmers farmers
not for the legal something that covers and ever see
(02:36:22):
only the alble with pharmascratic policy terms under written. The
pharmascript and faranture exchanges are all right. Steve Harman, Rich Arminburger,
Kelly Alive and the Guy go Fox Sports Radio Studios.
The Eagles are gonna line up for a fifty nine
yard field goal attempt to avoid a tie twenty three
(02:36:45):
all nineteen sexes ago and overtime. Oh how about a
full start against the Eagles. Let's make it a sixty
four yard field goal. So Jason Peters just gets yanked
out of the game with an injury, and I don't
know if he's typically I would assume at the left
tackle position on the offensive line for field goal unit.
(02:37:07):
But their left tackle just jumped off sides and now
they're gonna punt, so they don't even get the field
goal attempt. They're just gonna punt the ball away with
nineteen seconds ago, we're staring at the tip. All right,
we want to thank I was Sam today, a little
rough start, but I always saying I'm always finishing strong.
David Gascon just a master of the updates throughout a
(02:37:29):
very busy day. You guys, when you get a chance
after the show's over, you gotta check out a wild
story on TMZ with Joe Montana. Yeah. I mean, let's
put it this way. There was almost a kidnapping and
Joe and his wife were able to stop it from happening.
I'm still trying to figure out how somebody just walks
into your party in Malibu. Right, Uh and Ben both
(02:37:52):
came in today and and it's been up and down
for ball. Right, he's an Oklahoma guy that didn't go
well yesterday. It's wearing the Rams jersey. Unbelievable big Rams
come back only to fall short at the end. Are
you okay, bo you okay, after today, on a weird
after this weekend, I hate football and I never want
to watch it again. All right, So he's done with football,
(02:38:13):
all right? The Eagles have punt of the ball away
right now. The Bengals will start at their own ten
yard line. What do you do with thirteen seconds to
go and over time? How about taking me and get
out of here? Um? Yeah, if you want your your
rookie starting franchise quarterback to survive the season, just just
kneel on the rock. Yeah. The Bengals have done simply
a terrible job of protecting Joe Burrow. So what what
(02:38:34):
would be the point here? Well, what could possibly be
the point? Well, especially if you threw the ball and
it's intercepted and then they get a field goal attempt.
You don't want to do that. So so not thirteen
seconds to go in the overtime, and it looks like
we may have our first tie game of the season. Meanwhile,
the Chargers did score, Austin Ekeler getting in the end
zone for the Chargers. Well, he's good forty yards rushing
(02:38:56):
already in this game. For Eckler and Justin Herbert after
missing on his first pass, four for four on that
last drive fifty four yards. There you go. So this
kid is looking pretty good, and yet they insist that
as soon as Torod don't call me Tyrod Taylor is ready,
he'll be back in the lineup. Well, look that's what
they said, and I think that's probably politics a little
(02:39:18):
bit because what happening. Literally said it multiple times, and
I don't doubt the reason why. When you have somebody
on your staff puncture a player's lung and that's the
reason why he gets wally pipped. He's probably owed a
start at some point during this season when he's healthy
enough to get back out there, because look, I mean,
(02:39:40):
there's no way. I mean, I don't know if there's
any way, but if I'm the Chargers, there's no way
I'm keeping that doctor around, first of all. And second
of all, if you take away his starting gig because
your medical staff damaged him, yeah, you're gonna have to
give him a start at some point. Philip Rivers is
throwing a touchdown passed to give the Colts a fourteen
having lead over the Jets eleven half minutes to go
(02:40:02):
in the first half. There they're looking at it a
play in the Cowboy Seahawks game, we had a touchdown pass,
big touchdown pass Russell Wilson to Tyler Lockett and it
looks like we may have a safety. Did we get
a safety call here? It looks like they did get him.
Say so, Zeke Elliott was trying to run out of
(02:40:23):
the end zone he felt and it is a safety.
So that ups the Sea Holid lead to nine to
three over the Dallas Cowboy. You don't see that often
running He sort of slipped and then he tried to
dive to the goal line, but the knee hit the ground,
So that is a safety right there. All right, wow,
weekend of football here. I mean, so many things to
(02:40:46):
talk about right now, just as we still have all
these games coming up. But I mean, uh, let's go
to Gascon now Bears it confirmed treat co and towards
a c l at another one to the list. He
has done, done, done for the season. Well, you know,
we were talking earlier about how the NFL injuries in
Week two was huge and then this week it's settled
down some. But how about Trek Cohen. By the way,
(02:41:07):
I just signed a huge extension and this production has
been relatively minimal for the Bears, and uh after that
he ends up tearing his A C L. That's good
timing as far as where the money went, but unfortunate
for the Bears. But at the same token, they come
all the way back tapping into Nick Foles his magic
in Atlanta. So they improved to three and oh, regardless
(02:41:30):
of how it looked prettier otherwise, that's an undefeated football team.
By the way, just a quick note here, Tampa's leading
the Broncos seven nothing. He blocked uput and then Tom
Brady got a short touchdown pass. The note I wanted
to mention on this game is we were talking about
Rob Grenkowski. You know, he'd only had two catches in
two games zero in the second week. He was joking
(02:41:50):
around saying I'm here to block. But he's already been
targeted twice and has two receptions for sixteen yards. That's
not a lot, but you get a say, and said
Tom Brady is like, he ain't blocking for me, man,
I'm gonna make your earn your money. We're gonna get
you into football shape if it's all possible. So early on,
Tom Brady says, I gotta get Gronk going here, man,
(02:42:12):
I it's a long season. We're gonna need you. We
need Gronk. So a good sign early on where Brady recognizes, hey,
I gotta get this guy involved. Well, he's only been
targeted six times this season, three in their opener against
the Saints, and only once last week. He did not
catch that ball. So yeah, Gronk needs get it going.
I have a feeling that's by design. Look, Gronkowski didn't
(02:42:36):
come from New England fresh off the field. He came
out of retirement to night joined Brady was on game shows.
He lost how much weight? About fifty pounds? I think
it was forty pounds. Yeah, he was down to like
wide receiver wave and he had to pack on a
bunch of lbs this offseason. So it's gonna take a
little while to get the wheels back, there's no doubt
about that. All Right, So we have our first tie
of the year, twenty three. All meanwhile, Carolina right now
(02:42:59):
trailing the chart. You're seven to six and they are
in charge of territory, so they are driving right now,
uh and expectively, So we see a seventeen to three
or seventeen to seven lead into yeah, so uh yeah,
pretty much what we expected to see. The Jets are
(02:43:19):
terrible and the Giants are terrible. Yeah, I mean, well,
which one will actually win a game for a cold
winter in New York. I mean that's gonna be really,
really tough. All Right. We've done as much as we
possibly can jam into our four hours, but don't go anywhere.
For the absolute best coverage of everything happening in the NFL,
(02:43:39):
keep it here on Fox Sports Radio.
