Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to sports.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Sound better. Everybody happy Sunday, fun day. That is a
right reunited and it feels so good. All pro safety
carry Rhoads and me reunite.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Hey, hey, nice.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
There we got montanis here. Thank you for hanging out
with us on this busy Sunday with everything going on,
Carrie getting into March madness. I was just telling Steve
Hartman and VJ. Hus why do you too have to question?
Why are we playing things? Sorry? That threw me off.

(00:44):
That was a commercial that I've been in.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
You're in the commercial, so you just kind of skyrocketed since.

Speaker 5 (00:51):
No, no, no no.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
I stopped doing that a little bit ago because I
was here and I was like, I don't have time.
You know how auditions are. They're like, hey, can you
get to bever Hills in forty five minutes?

Speaker 4 (01:01):
No?

Speaker 6 (01:02):
I can't, actually, but that's how auditions would go. And
it's very difficult to be an actor, a successful one.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Because you really have to dedicate your time to that,
and it was impossible to do that while having this
wonderful job. Yep, So I stopped, but I did do
some commercial work throughout my wow illustrious career I was.
I was a mom and a lot of things. Because
I'm Latino, so I should have a bunch of kids,
you know what I'm saying, And then I just have none.
But I was a mom and a lot of stuff.

(01:30):
And that that Chris Purfett who's on the Ones and
two so will be moving over to the anchor studio
in a little bit. He played a commercial for Goer
Animals clothing for Hits. Yeah I had twins. Yeah I
just can't well no, of course not. No, that's hilarious.
You know what I'm saying, Like I had twins, and
I was like, all right. As soon as it was

(01:50):
it was like, okay.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Called acting.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
You know what I'm saying. I'm saying it's called akatin.
But yes, that's what that was.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Chris profests story time to start the show. But I
was what I was saying before the show, with March
Madness and all this, like these teams that I have
no idea who they are, Queen's University, just punch their
ticket to the big dance.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Oh the big Queen's University.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Yeah yeah, of course everybody knows who they are. But
watching them win, even though I have no idea who
they are, watching them win, watching them celebrate, watching the
fans the moment. It is like such an awesome thing
to experience, even from Afar, just watching it on TV,
like I feel it. I feel the excitement, and again

(02:33):
I don't even know who they.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Are, Monty. It's nothing better. It's right, it really is.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
There's something to compare this feeling.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
It really isn't.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
I mean, when you get to see these kids living
out their dreams and obviously, like you said, a Queen's
New York team who've probably.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Never been before, and I know that's not true. I'm
sure they have.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Actually I've never been to see there.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
You never been, right, get to celebrate and have a
chance to go do that and celebrate it with their
friends and families and coaches, and people don't realize when
you're in it, and you shouldn't because you're in the moment,
But when you when you're my age and you get
a chance to look back at some of those things,
and for them to accomplish something that's never been done
at the university, it's such a big deal. And we

(03:11):
get to be the bystanders that get a chance to
watch it. The observers the fans that can realize with
them in those moments.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
So get it, you know what I'm saying. And I'm
only pointing this out not to tell you that you're wrong,
but because Queen's University is in Charlotte, and so I
just because again I didn't know who this team was,
so I you know what I'm saying. I had to
look this up and I was like, so I read
that this was this was their first ever game where
they could punch a ticket to the like that's how
big this moment was. And they went to overtime, like

(03:39):
he was just like, and here I am watching it.
I'm like, I don't even know who these This is
probably a mom that they're showing that's crying in the stands,
Like how there's I don't think there is something comparable.
And I think you're right about that because we're gonna
talk about the World Baseball Classic. But it's like I
watched that and it's like not that I have I don't.
I don't care for Italy, let's say, but when they win,
I'm not ex static that they're taking especial shots in

(04:02):
the dugout, you know what I'm saying, Like it's not
the same.

Speaker 6 (04:04):
This one hits. It hits differently.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
It does.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
It's kids, I mean obviously I think they're kids, right,
and so we know how emotional it is, right, Like
you take all those wins and losses so much to heart.
I mean as a you know, as a college player myself,
if we lost, I think I would physically I would cry.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
I would have a reaction to it.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
Right, So think about these college kids and having something
as big and memorable as that's as this happens.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
I mean, we can always go back to the Olympics.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
And that's more country, sure, right, and we are pride
and we are I mean I cried this time with
some of the backstories with like hockey, right yeah, and
Johnny Johnny goudrou.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
In his family in cage and stuff like that.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Like those moments are immortalized, right, But for kids in college,
that thing is gone and this is it.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
Like you said, it's pride, Like you kind of find
a reason to relate when it comes to the Olympics
with these schools in March. Madness is like I'm not
I'm not i'm not late, I'm not invested on anything,
and yet I feel for you guys. I feel the
joy just like you feel sometimes the sadness in it, right,
but like the joy. It's just like, h congratulations to
Queen's University out of Charlotte.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Charlotte.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Congratulations, But to your ticket to the Big Dance.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
We will talk about the Big Dance more because I
Carrie loves college basketball and I vacation in there. You
know what I'm saying. I always say like I don't
have real estate. I just airbnb it. You know what
I mean?

Speaker 3 (05:31):
What about time share? You got time?

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Do you know what I may be investing in a timeshare?
When it comes to college sports in general, maybe I
need to look into it. But we are going to
dive more into that. We're gonna have Adam Kaplan talking
about the NFL in the next hour. We've got easy
as one, two, three, four, carry on or off. Just
because Dan Byer is not here doesn't mean we're not
gonna do all the fun stuff on this show. And

(05:54):
we're also going to talk about the World Baseball Classic
later this hour. You can tweet me Montye Belanna, It's
Fox Sports Radio, Carrie twenty five roads. I just want
to know what you think of the World Baseball Classic,
Like what does that mean to you, because we're gonna
dive into some comments that were made by Bryce Harper
that rubbed people the wrong way. I don't I don't
get it. I don't get it, Carrie. We'll talk about that.

(06:16):
But if you guys haven't opinion on what the World
Baseball Classic is, just let us know. It does have
to be long. Just give me an idea what you
think the World Baseball Classic is. And we're gonna dive
into that later this hour. But we've got so much
to talk about. We are going to talk to Adam
Kaplan in the next hour about the NFL, but we're
gonna start with the NFL right now, Carrie, because even
though it's the off season, it is still king. Always
NFL is still king. And this week a big trade happened.

(06:40):
The Las Vegas Raiders, as I think many anticipated, traded
their star Max Crosby to a team you're very fond of,
a team that my boyfriend is very fond of, the
Baltimore Ravens. That's a team that is already you could
stay you could say, pretty stacked. Now. Last year, yes,
we saw the Ravens defense not delivering like the first

(07:03):
part of the season, but they tidied up and they
were pretty damn good by the end of it. It
was like a very different from the first a games
to the lasts.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
You don't want to see my.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
Favorite I know his Carrie's face, right, He's like, if
you no truer words I've been spoken. When it comes
to the defense of the Ravens last year from beginning
to the end of the season, obviously the biggest winner here,
you could say, yeah, the Ravens have to be super
excited about this, right, Like this is a huge deal.
Not only is this a huge player, but it's the
type of personality that I would want on my team.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
It fits their team.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Yeah, it fits their team as well. But a type
of guy you want, A type of guy that probably
gets mad when he loses, A type of guy that
is not there just for Funzis that's what you need,
especially in Baltimore with a new head coach.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
Yep, right, Manzi.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
It's the word here that really matters the most is attitude.
To be a really good defense you gotta have an attitude.
You gotta have you gotta have people on your side
that you know, if you go into a dark alley,
they're going to be the first one to fight.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
Right, He's one of those guys.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
I would bring him with me.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
He's one of those guys absolutely right.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
He's a guy that's fixed his life off the field
to be as productive as he is on the field.
I mean, he's been open with his uh with his
struggle with addiction and some of those things that he
overcome that he overcame.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
He's been six years sober.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
So you know that this is a guy that's intentional
with what he wants to do. So you bring a
guy with intention, you bring a guy with attitude to
your defense where you at the end of the year
got better and you can build on that you have
on each level. Now you have a playmaker that should
be one of the best playmakers at that position in
the league. You got Max Cosby now on the D line,

(08:42):
you got ro Kwan Smith in the middle, and you
got the best player in the defense that I think
if he can catch the ball, it's Kyle Hamilton. So yes,
three different levels, they got a playmakers, and you got
a defensive minded head coach coming in and mentor that
Jong got fired. He's got fired. He's he's designing this thing. Perfectly.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
So now you just want to see it all come together.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Absolutely, how they put it together. It's the Ravens doing
this was also big because they just were like, what
is the edge we need? Right, because the Ravens have
been there on the cusp the last couple of years.
They have talent everywhere, and they've been on the cusp.
This could be a guy that kind of puts you
over and he's hungry to win, and he's a closer

(09:23):
and he's wants it right.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
The thing with the Ravens, they have leads all the time.

Speaker 4 (09:27):
If you get a lead with the guy like Mex
Coffee that can just go rush the quarterback, it's a
different mentality.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
Absolutely, and that's the other part of it.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
So the second biggest winner out of this would be
the AFC West, right, would be like the Chargers, the Chiefs,
we've all survived, the Broncos, like this is good for us,
thank you so much. That's the next biggest winner. I
do think the Raiders did the right choice in this, right, Like,
if you are going to build around possibly for Nando Mendoza,

(09:54):
if you're gonna do this, this was a smart move
for you because you still have a lot of holes
and having b Crosby wasn't as beneficial to you as
it could be to one other team.

Speaker 5 (10:04):
Like the Ravens.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Right, yes, who do you think the biggest.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
Loser in all of this is the biggest loser is
Joe Burrow i'bsolar.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
So now he has to Philau, Miles, Garrett, T. J.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
Watt and Max Crosby next year, and so we already
know they struggle to protect absolutely and he has to
be sitting there like I got all these shiny toys,
but I can't even throw it to him because I'm
getting off my back. So he's the biggest loser. The
Raiders obviously had to do this right now. They got
two first round picks in this draft. They got another
one next year, and so you talk about a team
that's trying to build and trying to build something with,
you know, a new core. They got some pieces they got,

(10:37):
you know, they got Brock Bowers, they got Ashton Jense,
They they got guys on offense.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
Who I think we don't know what Ashton genty. We
don't know yet because of what he had to endure
last year. Right, It's like we don't know what he
is in fact Bretendant's his first year. Yeah, like pretendants
this first year, so that we could actually see what
Ashton Genty is going to be the.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
Men in Black flash real quick. It didn't happen.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
It did happen. It happened because I feel like so
many people just dismissed Ashton that he wasn't doing what
he did over at Boise State immediately, and it's like,
but do you see his O line? Like do you
see the situation? Of course he can't succeed And it's
like if everyone is targeting him when brock Bowers is
injured and out, what's he gonna do? Like it's like,

(11:16):
so I wish we really could bring out that flashy
pen from Men in Black and just see what Ashton
Genzy is gonna be able to do. Again. The Raiders
still have to make more moves, but I think they
are making the right moves. And I felt like some
of the Raider fan base was very upset about losing
Max Crosby, and I think it's like, yeah, because he
was a real Raider, like the definition of a Raider.

(11:37):
I feel like Max Crosby was.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
That for sure.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
No, yeah, you're losing the identity of something that's already happened,
and it's and it's been proven to not be beneficial
for the team, Like you've had enough time.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
To see it.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
Obviously, he's the cornerstone of your franchise. It happens a lot.
You have to sometimes move on. We just saw something
in an Aba right where you trade your franchise player
because of certain things. And you know, I'm not gonna
mintion thetain because it makes me sick my stomach at
the moment. But we see these things happen with Max Crosby.
I mean, he's just you're for him personally, you're wasting
away his great years. He's twenty eight, he's in his prime.

(12:11):
Let him go get a chance to be a disruptor
on the team that has a chance to win. And
for you, you get to bring back assets that can
also course correct your team as well.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
So I think there's a win win me.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
I agree. It's one of those early on win wins, right,
Like we'll see what happens, but right I agree, I
think it is a win win situation early on. Be

people is losing Max Crosby. But to me, Carrie, there
is another part of the Raiders story that came out
this week that I cannot wrap my head around. Maybe
you can help me. I can't wrap my head around
this decision that it looks like the readers are making.

(13:05):
What is that We're gonna dive into it next. Don't
go out anywhere. He is Carrie Roads, the former All

Big Dance. Chris Burphett is gonna give us the rundown

(14:15):
in a little bit, as Christophett is doing it all
the ones and twos and anchoring. We've got Shay Morgan
guard over as our producer. Hi Shay, have you said?
Hi Shay it all today? Hi Shay? There he is.
And we are gonna have Mary mac join us in
a little bit. So back to the Raiders, Carrie. We
just dove into this trade and how how good it
is it seems on the surface, not just for the

(14:37):
Baltimore Ravens, not just for my chargers in the AFC West,
and for the Raiders themselves, you know, accepting like we've
got it, We've got a lot of changes to make
in order to be successful and compete in this league.
We talked that the biggest loser is Joe Burrow in
all of this, Poor poor Joe. But one thing that

(14:58):
I read this week with the Raiders, I can't wrap
my head around this carry and maybe you can't help
me understand, but they're saying that they would like to
bring in a veteran quarterback, so that Fernando Mendoza, who
seems likely that they will be taking him at number one,
will sit squeeze. No, what are we doing?

Speaker 4 (15:22):
Let me get because I got you, I got you.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
But let me hear.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
If you do not already believe in Fernando Mendoza with
the number one pick, then don't take him. You should
see what you have up front instead you putting him
off to the side For a veteran. What veteran you're
gonna bring in, Joe Flacco? What veteran, honestly like, what
veteran that can genuinely teach this man what you want?

(15:49):
I don't think Aaron Rodgers is available, because here's my thing.
Any veteran that knows that the plan is for you
to eventually be benched, Aaron Rodgers is not gonna want that.
Kirk Cousins is not gonna want that. So who Philip
Rivers once again, like, who are we bringing in to
do this? And if you're gonna take Fernano Mendoza, put
him out there and see what you got, just like

(16:11):
we've seen with cam Ward and the Titans. Like, I
don't think the Raiders have this luxury to be able
to do that in this situation. It's it may be
a different team. I know it's ideal. In the past,
it's been very ideal to sit back and watch and learn,
but lately it hasn't that that hasn't been the luxury.
A lot of teams have had guys and we're not

(16:31):
in that situation. I don't think the Raiders are in
that situation. Go for it, you're not. You're not gonna
all of a sudden be the best team you've got.
You've got to see what you have in front of you.
And how are you gonna know if you're putting it
off to the side for what?

Speaker 3 (16:44):
I'll tell you why.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
Okay, change my mind.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
You just had a key word. Okay, luxury.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
Okay, they have the luxury to take their time, and
I'll tell you why.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
They have no expectations.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
Doesn't matter if they have a great draft, doesn't matter
who they bring in right now, they're not gonna win
this year, right exactly. Yeah, but the luxury of that,
we know that. So you're putting the guy in in
a losing situation, if you're bringing the up back, if
you're bringing in a veteran quarterback. And I'll just throw
out two names for you right now, the ones you
said probably wouldn't but I would say, you know what
I'm saying, But I would say Kirk Cousins. I would

(17:16):
say Derek Carr or I would say Jacoby Brissett. Those
are three guys that I would say, off the top
of my head right now, could go in there and
perform well. Not going to correlate the wins, but nobody's
expecting that. So you're giving your maybe your future a
chance to assimilate himself to the team, also assimilate himself
at his own pace to the game action, because it's

(17:38):
going to be hard with the way they're.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
Design right now.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
They don't have enough talent to be put somebody like
Fernando Mendoza who's not going to change their fortunes by himself,
by by immats. Give him a little time to learn.
That doesn't mean it's going to sit out the whole
year just to start the year. Don't throw him out
there in the fire. Give him a chance to ease
into it. Derek Carr, Brissette, Kirk Cousins, John Yeah, but sure,

(18:03):
but I'm tired of hearing his name. Give that young
man time, get the man young man time. But you
also said something else, old school mentality. Who's who's in
their front office right now? Tom Brady, he's been there.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
Who's sat but he was not the number.

Speaker 4 (18:18):
One you know, under saying he has that understanding.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
So then so then do you not take for Nano
Mendoza at number one?

Speaker 3 (18:26):
No, it doesn't change it. How does it just number one?

Speaker 4 (18:30):
Just because your number one pick doesn't mean you should
be played right away as a quarterback.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
I've seen that.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
It's funny because I you spun luxury, you spun it
on and I totally hear what you're saying, But I
still like, it's not making me change my mind that
putting for Nano Mendoza out there to see what he
can do, and then maybe, okay, take a break.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
One more thing. I have one more thing for you.

Speaker 8 (18:51):
You throw somebody out there and throw them in the
fire and they fail, you don't know how that person's
going to react to the failure, and so you I've
seen so many number one quarterbacks go out there and
play right away Manzi.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
Yes, and it is a disaster.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
We also saw Joe Burrow not be a disaster behind
a terrible O line as well.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
The first year. I don't think that it wasn't as bad.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
It wasn't as bad, but going to the super in
the second year, yes, you know, like we've seen, we've seen.
I think there's a lot of value in putting him
out there, and if there was somebody, I guess if
like there was a perfect person, Derek Carr. Okay, I
know there's rumors about him coming back out.

Speaker 6 (19:28):
I think Jacoby Brissett is staying in Arizona.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
I'm being completely honest with you. I do. I just
feel like Arizona's also a little bit limited in what
they can do. And they didn't play badly with him.
They scored. It was just kind of like their defense
couldn't do it at the end, you know what I'm saying.
Like it was Arizona was always up early in the
game at like halftime, and then by the fourth quarter,
you were like how did that just happen?

Speaker 3 (19:49):
He knew it was going to happen.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
You knew you knew that was bad. So I'm just
I feel like, maybe Jacoby Brissett stays there, but put
him out there, and I guess like saying this out
loud is what bothered me. I know, you want a
quarterback competition, you don't want him to feel like, but
don't say like we want him to sit. If I'm Fananleman,
doesn't be like, bro, I don't want to sit. Our
producer Seane Morgan guard got something to say here.

Speaker 9 (20:10):
Yeah, I want to like kind of put out two
situations because there's kind of two situations you guys are
kind of both talking about and we're kind of seeing
it right now in the NFL one with Jordan Love
and then one with Caleb and.

Speaker 3 (20:21):
Caleb with the Bears.

Speaker 9 (20:22):
Obviously, he came in, immediately started playing YEP, was put
into basically the thick of it, right, horrible O line.
But we see him develop into the quarterback that he
everyone thought he would be. The media was going crazy,
and we finally see him turn into this quarterback that
everyone thought, Hey, this guy can actually be a franchise QB.
That may have not happened if he was sitting on

(20:42):
the bench. But then we have someone like Jordan Love
on the other side, who was sitting behind Aaron Rodgers
for such a long time, and if he was thrown
out into the fire, this kid might have been out
of the league in two three games totally. But because
he had that experience, he was able to see, hey,
I can be a franchise quarterback. And now he is
the Packers franchise QB. So there's two ends to it,

(21:05):
and obviously there's a good and a bad to both
of them. But you got to see in what what
direction do the Raiders really want to go with Fernando Mendoza.
And I think right now, looking at the type of
play areas, I think they need to start up one hundred.
And I think Manci's right.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
I think his personality, I know exactly what you're saying,
it's I don't know for Nano Mendoza. This is me
just guessing. It's not like his reactions linked all of
that stuff, you know what I'm saying, Like, I feel
like he he has it in him to not get
mentally torn down if it goes badly for him. As

(21:44):
a number one over op pick. You know Jordan Love
the twenty.

Speaker 6 (21:47):
Sixth overall pick, like he wouldn't.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
So that's that's the is it?

Speaker 6 (21:52):
Because Fernanda Mendoza shouldn't be the number one over op pick,
but in this.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
Draft he is.

Speaker 3 (21:56):
And that's I was going to I was bringing that out.

Speaker 4 (21:59):
What what is What is Fernando Mendoza's cap for you?

Speaker 10 (22:04):
Like?

Speaker 3 (22:04):
What player in his ceiling?

Speaker 2 (22:07):
What do I see?

Speaker 3 (22:08):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (22:09):
You know, I don't know nobody and nobody knows.

Speaker 4 (22:12):
And so the recruiting process and the people who are
behind doors making these evaluations they should and so.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
That idea and so.

Speaker 4 (22:20):
So exactly, so we need to understand that part of it,
I know, the the public outrage or the outcry and
even the sentiments you share. If you're taking somebody with
number one pick, why would you throw them out there?
They have to have done their research and so even
the back and forth, I don't think either one of
our points is more right than the other.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
And it's I'm just saying like from.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
The how do you analyze this?

Speaker 11 (22:42):
You do it?

Speaker 4 (22:43):
And I think it comes from within closed doors. You
have to know that guy and he's definitely wouldn't be
the number one pick in my mind in another draft.
So if you're overreaching for a guy that has a
ceiling that you think could be really good, but he's
not that guy yet, don't throw him out there. And
I think that's where I'm coming from, okay, because I
don't think he would be this guy normally.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
But you still take him number one?

Speaker 3 (23:06):
Yeah? Right now?

Speaker 2 (23:06):
Still right now, you still take him number one. I'm
telling you, like, I have such a hard time with this,
even though everything he said makes sense, it does make sense,
but I'm just like, who, And I think, what's like
Jordan Love, It's like, yeah, it was Aaron Rodgers. Of
course you were gonna sit behind Aaron Rodgers. But Patrick
Mahomes sat, you don't like. But he also wasn't number one.
He was like early, I know he was early, but

(23:29):
not number one. He also sat, and so I know that.
But like Caleb Williams, I brought up cam Ward, who
like was thrown out there and it was not a
good rookie year for camp Ward and the Titans definitely
got better. Bryce Young remember his year awful? Still out there,
Fernando Mendoza, I feel like the guy seems again, I

(23:50):
don't know him, would love to have a cup of
coffee with him and Joe with him. I feel like
he would want to be out there. He almost would
maybe want to get his ass kicked and have to
come out of that.

Speaker 6 (24:02):
There's so there's some people who thrive in situations like that.

Speaker 4 (24:05):
I'll tell you one who didn't. I brought up his brother,
but uh, dated car did not do well. No, No,
he went out there right away and he got sacked
so many times. He was never the same.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
Yeah the first year, right was it his first year? Yes,
he got he has the record, yes, yes, for a
rookie being sacked.

Speaker 4 (24:19):
And he was never the same. He was gunshided the
rest of his career. That's why. And I played against him.
I've seen it. I'm like, that's not the guy that got.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
Going into it going. Did you think he would not like?

Speaker 5 (24:31):
Did you?

Speaker 2 (24:31):
Was it like, Oh, this guy's gonna do it, no problems,
he's gonna was that.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
The he seemed like sure, a surefire guy.

Speaker 2 (24:37):
He did.

Speaker 4 (24:37):
I mean at the time, yeah, at the time, but
it turned out to not be that way.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
Right, Yeah, No, that's it's it's a good point. I'm
just the luxury word you spun on me. I still
I feel I feel like the Raiders don't have the
luxury to do that. Throw him out there and see
what you got, build around it, and start planning. Now,
why delay the planning?

Speaker 3 (24:56):
I want to hear what the what the Twitter Twitter
world has to say about this.

Speaker 4 (24:58):
I want to I want to hear there there's no
thoughts on this as well, so we can kind of
see where we stand in Manzi.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
Yes, if you have thoughts on this, should the Raiders
sit for Nanda Mendoza a little bit? Should they just
throw him out there as the number one overall pick?
Carrie and I disagree here a little bit. Let us
know on ex Twitter he carried twenty five roads. I
am Monty belinos Or at Fox Sports Radio. But we're
gonna head over not to the news desk, technically over
to the pro technical producer desk. Why not with Chris Pherfett,

(25:27):
who is gonna give us the rundown on what has
happened today in this crazy Sunday.

Speaker 10 (25:33):
The news desk is just wherever the mind is. But
first off, in the words of Lebron James, Happy International
Women's Day, Oh.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
Thank you and now, with that out of the way,
of quiz, I want to start this with a little quiz.

Speaker 10 (25:45):
Monsey goes last on this because she might know this
because she was doing it in the updates.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
But whatever.

Speaker 10 (25:49):
Queen's University Royals ninety eight ninety three over Central Arkansas
to clinch their first ever NCAA tournament birth with the
ASUN tournament.

Speaker 3 (25:59):
Now, where is Queen's University? Okay, don't say mafia. Where
is Queen's?

Speaker 12 (26:04):
You want to know? Where is that?

Speaker 3 (26:06):
Chris? Just Charlotte, North Carolina.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
Chris Moncy correct, Okay, cool?

Speaker 10 (26:13):
I think there were some people in here earlier who
might have thought it actually meant Queen's Yet, Nay.

Speaker 2 (26:19):
Show we fixed we fixed it early on.

Speaker 10 (26:22):
Yes, yes, okay, well, very good, very good. That's the
that's the big story of it. By the way, high
Point wins the Big South with the ninety one seventy
six victory.

Speaker 3 (26:30):
I know what high Point is. I should know.

Speaker 10 (26:32):
I know it too because my mom worked there while
she was pregnant with me, because I was born in Greensboro,
North Carolina.

Speaker 3 (26:38):
R Look at that connection, North Carolina.

Speaker 5 (26:41):
Nice?

Speaker 3 (26:42):
Raise off?

Speaker 10 (26:43):
All right, let's see here, n I U over the
U c eighty four sixty nine in the Missouri Valley
Conference Final. Another one who's punching their ticket on right
now on CBS Michigan and Michigan State taking each on
each other on in the Big Ten. That current score,
if I swinned a little bit for already one thirty
nine Michigan State with a minor lead over Michigan in

(27:06):
one of the most deadly rivalries in all of sports.
I don't know if that's actually true. I'm just going
to choose to believe that one more the men's college
basketball score for you, And I don't know why I'm
picking this one out.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
Let's just found its way in here.

Speaker 10 (27:19):
In the second round of the Horizon League Championship, the
Northern Kentucky Norse defeated the Green Bay Phoenix ninety six
to seventy six. Oh so, unfortunately, our friend the fighting
Doug gott leaves his campaign is over. Ah right, that's okay.
Just don't get yourself in trouble at the podium afterwards.

(27:39):
Hold it in, Hold it in, coach.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
On the women's side of things.

Speaker 10 (27:42):
Texas has won the SEC with the defeat of South
Carolina six seventy eight sixty one U see a La
cleaning the Big Ten with a crushing ninety six forty
five rout of Iowa Duke women won the champ are
the champions of the ACC seventy to sixty five. Over
say it with me now wat to mouth Griff Louisville
for a game that Carrie is not conflicted about at all.

(28:03):
I am sure in spite of his light the fights
and finally on the pro side of things. Right now
Lake speaking of the happy International Women's Day Lakers and Knicks.
Lakers are actually up on the next eighty three sixty
five with about a minute ago in the third quarter.
The Celtics earlier defeated the Cavaliers one oh nine to
ninety eight, Jason Taitum twenty points as he continues his

(28:26):
road to return and and the Celtics move within three
games of the Detroit Pistons for the top in the East.

Speaker 3 (28:34):
Back to Moncie and Carrie.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Thanks Chris Berherfett, you are listening to Fox Sports Radio.
We are going to talk about the NBA because I
do feel like this whole week, maybe Carrie, or like
the last two weeks, didn't you feel like you're just like,
what is happening in the NBA. This team is beating
that team this year, beating this team, and you're just like, Okay,
we'll talk about that in a little bit, but we
do have not just march madness going on. The World

(28:57):
Baseball Classic and Bryce Harper on my my timeline this
came up and he was coming under fire for some
comments that he made.

Speaker 13 (29:06):
Obviously WC has been great, but style to the Olympics, right,
everybody knows that when the Olympics are owing, everybody's watching,
no matter what sport it is. It could be the
most random sport and it's got all the fans watching.

Speaker 2 (29:18):
People were very upset with those comments, and I was like,
I don't understand why we're Matt. I think what he
means is is right, or it's true when it comes
to the Olympics, you're watching no matter what. For the
World Baseball Classic. Do you think everyone is watching or
is it still baseball fans watching?

Speaker 3 (29:38):
It's baseball fans, right, Yeah, I agree with that's that sentiment.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
Ye, And he's been pushing for the Olympics, for baseball
to get back to the Olympics for a while. Now,
you know what I'm saying, Like this is something he's
been It's the hill he has been dying on for
the last couple of years. So it's like, this isn't new,
And I am I wrong in saying.

Speaker 6 (29:56):
And I'll ask you, guys, Shay and Chris ask you
guys this too.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
Am I wrong in saying? Like the World Baseball Classic
is almost like the fun tournament, like everyone wants to win, Yes,
but it's a little bit more fun than anything. You
get to play with guys you probably don't get to
play with. You hear that a nineteen year old has
struck out Aaron Jodge, You hear that, you know, a

(30:19):
plumber struck out Sho Heo Tawny, like you hear those
things more with the World Baseball Classic, that those funnier
lines than I feel like you would hear in the Olympics,
because there's so.

Speaker 10 (30:29):
Much pride in the go ahead, Chris, what you got, Well,
I think I think we'd still hear that in the Olympics.
It's just you know, I it's the nature of this
thing right now where we've got like, you know, we
were just talking about how guys get on Team Great
Britain from the Bahamas and things like that. Just because
like we're just trying to fill out rosters in some places.
I think part of that fun also comes from just
the nature of watching how baseball is celebrated by the

(30:52):
fans outside of the US, where everyone's just having a
big party. But I think at the end of the day,
as much as I appreciate Bryce Harpor trying to get
back in the Olympics, I'm someone who grew up with
a lot of Olympics in my life, and it's just
it was always a struggle when baseball was in the
Olympics to actually get Major League Baseball to care about it.

Speaker 3 (31:11):
To say play right, because it was always in the
middle of a season.

Speaker 10 (31:15):
It feels like playing the World Baseball Classic in March
when in place a lot of spring training is basically
the compromise position that they're allowed to do it. And
this isn't the only sport that's had trouble with it.
NHL keeps going back and forth whether or not they
want to take a break to send their players to
the Winter Olympics. It's always a fight with them. Over
all of that, the NBA is the only one who, really,

(31:36):
I think, has taken the Olympics mostly seriously, but it's it.
The time just doesn't work out for it. In the Olympics.
I understand the prestige of the Olympics, but I feel
like with the World Baseball Class, you've got something that
can eventually be held in that same high regard. Maybe
not like World Cup, but for a lot of these guys,
it's you can you can tell it. It's it's important.

(31:57):
Tarika's scoopl got one taste and he's like, I'm not
going back to the Tigers. I want to keep pitching.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
Absolutely. You see the teams their tears when they win.
Of course they want all that, but it's it is
I think I think the sentiment overall of what Bryce
Harper said where people were just upset that he was
saying the Olympics were bigger. I don't think that's a lot.

Speaker 3 (32:15):
It's not wrong. What was what was like some of
the some of the pushback, did you see what the
com Yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
So one. Some people were like this seems racially driven
as a Latina where it's a bunch of Latin countries
in the World Baseball Classic. That is really not That
is not what I took of it at all. I
do not think that was that's what he was saying.
I just think he was saying, the Olympics is much bigger,
and if like the World Baseball Classic is getting this attention,
imagine what the Olympics went. So I feel like that's

(32:42):
all And people people were saying that that they was
racially driven, that it was a way for him to
to escape. No escape when USA loses like that, you
know what, it's like, it's not that aha that he's
just making it seem like it's not that big of
a deal because the other teams may be are better,
you know what. But I I just it was like,
the Olympics are bigger and we should get there. I

(33:04):
think that's what he's trying to say.

Speaker 10 (33:06):
I will also say real quick, I think it's a
little bit different. We're talking about the Summer Olympics because
we just saw the hockey and the Winter Olympics. Everyone
liked it, but like, I feel like this for the
Summer Olympics, there's a lot more competition if baseball wants
to come back to it, because now you're talking about
everyone wants to watch the dream team USA. Basketball, swimming,
and track and field. These are all huge things for
US too, So I worry that maybe baseball might get

(33:27):
lost in that.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
It just how it won't. It's been so long, so
I won't. People we like when things are that far apart.
That's why the NBA All Star Game come back in
three years. Then we're gonna be like, oh my god,
then to watch it.

Speaker 10 (33:41):
You know.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
I'm so it wouldn't because it's been so long since
it happened. But I right, like, there was nothing wrong
with what he said, righty, Yeah, And the overall idea
that it's bigger. It is bigger Olympics.

Speaker 3 (33:53):
The Olympics is bigger than the World base And it's not.

Speaker 2 (33:56):
A bad thing. It's just different. It's just different. On
the other side of this, Carrie was a two way athlete.
Uh huh, he played two sports. An NFL player gets
released from his team, could he go to baseball? What
would you do? Carrie? We're gonna talk about that next.
Don't go anywhere. He's Carrie. I'm Mancy. This is Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 12 (34:16):

Speaker 2 (34:28):
What's Up everybody Sunday Funday here at Fox Sports Radio,
I am Monty Bolanos. He is the all pro safety
carry Rhoads hanging out with you on this very busy
Sunday full of everything, NBA, March Madness, punching your ticket
to the Big Dance, NFL, We've got it all, and
of course, of course the World Baseball Classic. Someone did

(34:49):
respond to your request to say, hey, let us know
what you think about our discussion when it came to
Fernando Mendoza, and you can still tweet out us just
because we already talked about it, but we we did
not agree on our Forernando in Doza situation with the Raiders,
I think he's got to play. You've got to start him.
He's your number one pick, and you think, no, there's
benefits in having him sit, getting a veteran quarterback for

(35:11):
him to learn.

Speaker 6 (35:12):
We've seen both of these situations.

Speaker 2 (35:14):
Before our eyes. Jason at Jason one fifty one Free,
j MP at JMP says, absolutely, play Mendoza from the
start if you draft him. You then said why, and
then he said, if you draft a quarterback at number one,
he's your franchise, play him now. Response yes, we appreciate

(35:35):
the response. That's kind of how I feel about it.
Like I said, everything you said also made sense. I
just don't I feel like if if Tom Brady is
saying that, Tom, sit down, don't you have a game
to cover, don't you have another game to go? Time?
Don't you have to go do something with that model
is stop, We're gonna play for Nando Mendoza, leave me alone.

(35:56):
Should you play Kyler Murray not just on the football field?

Speaker 11 (36:00):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (36:01):
Should you maybe let him come back to the Diamonds.
So Kyler Murray was released from the Cardinals or expects
to be released, whatever it was. We know he's gonna
be released. And they spoke to the a's owner earlier
this week and they just the manager general manager, excuse me,
David Frost, and he told MLB dot com on Wednesday

(36:22):
that the door is always open for Kyler Murray in
case you didn't know. In twenty eighteen, Kyler Murray was
the ninth overall pick by the Oakland eighth. That's pretty good, right,
pretty damn good. He declared for the draft NFL Draft
in twenty nineteen. He was a Heisman Trophy winner, but
was considered a five tool player at the University of Oklahoma,

(36:44):
which is basically a player that can do it all. Like,
he can do it all. He could hit well, he
could field well, he could he could do it all.
Is it crazy to think, I'm like Kyler Murray, you
should go see what could happen?

Speaker 3 (36:58):
How old is he now? MANSI, you know you got
to do you have his age handy right now.

Speaker 4 (37:02):
It's always It's always one of those things most of us,
most of us athletes are actually skilled in different things.

Speaker 3 (37:09):
But you just said it.

Speaker 4 (37:09):
I mean he was exceptional any other things, right, And
so when you have that as a backup plan, there's
and you're young enough years and you're twenty eight years old.
I mean I would not shut the door on that
because I was one person. What you said before playing football?
Ye play football and basketball, And Matt, I tell this
story very I guess I don't share it enough. But

(37:33):
in my third year playing with the Jets, I literally
consider going to try out for the Knicks. And it
was a real thing. And my agent was like, what
are you talking about. You're you're about to You're about
to sign the you know, a nice deal with the Jets.
Why would you even think about it. But as an athlete,
you have these internal things about yourself that you know

(37:54):
you want to kind of achieve we said those athletes, right,
And I always want to do that And I couldn't
do it the way I wanted to in college because
I couldn't keep waiting on there.

Speaker 3 (38:03):
There was factors, right. But after being kind of.

Speaker 4 (38:07):
You know, admonished and kind of banished by a team,
and now you have to like reconsider how good you
are at that thing you're doing. Now happen that as
a backup plan isn't a bad thing? Montys, I'm I'm,
I don't know, what do you think?

Speaker 2 (38:22):
And especially with baseball, Yeah, you get drafted and it
takes years for you to actually like develop it to
get out and play in the majors. Right, So, I
feel like Kyler Murray, you were playing professional sports, you've
probably maintained some of the most basic things you want
for an athlete. Do you still have the ability to

(38:43):
make contact with the ball? Do you still? And I
feel like it would be like riding a bike. If
you are that good, there's no way he's still not
that good, right, Like maybe it might take a second,
of course, but why not try it, and I'm not
there are things with Kyler Murray. It's like, just because
I'm saying this about Kyler Murray, this isn't every other
quarterback that maybe gets released has had another sport under

(39:04):
their belt. It just seems like you said kind of
put pushed off to the side, with rumors that he
doesn't study, with people saying he's too short. Let me
tell you could be short in baseball, You're gone. You're
absolutely fine. If you're short in baseball, you're good.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
It's actually a skill set they get picture got to
get the ball lower anyway, and you're probably faster.

Speaker 2 (39:22):
You probably still look at Louisa at I strike songs
not as high, you know, like there I feel like
he should legitimately look into that. And I wanted to
talk to you about it because of your history with
the with with basketball and the NFL. Y what in
that moment what made you even consider going to the Knicks.
Was it just like I want to see if I

(39:42):
can do it?

Speaker 3 (39:43):
It was that.

Speaker 4 (39:44):
Also, It's funny how at twenty five you have life,
you know, you have life crisises, and you think you
think the world is over, and you know, I played
a couple of years of the NFL, and I found
out that I was, you know, really good early, you
know what I mean, Like, mate, you know, talk about
all pro. I was all Pro my second year. So
I was like, oh, I can do this. Yeah, you
know what I mean, I can do this. I can

(40:05):
do so trying to think about basketball and like trying
to conquer that.

Speaker 3 (40:07):
That's all.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
The life crisis that I went through at twenty five
was not the same life crisis that you went through.
I think I was just trying to figure out which
heel I should wear to the club, you know what
I'm saying, Like, that's probably what I was doing. Kyler Murray,
give it a shot, try the try baseball. Why not?
I mean, just do it. On the other side of this, guys,
the NBA is in good hands. And I'm gonna explain

(40:30):
to you why he's carry on Monty. This is Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (40:35):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (40:39):
What's up, everybody, Sunday Fun Day here at Fox Sports Radio. Shade,
don't put pressure on carry Don't put pressure on him.
He doesn't like that. Carrie Roads be all pro safety
doesn't deal with pressure anymore?

Speaker 3 (40:52):
Did it?

Speaker 2 (40:52):
On the Field doesn't want to deal with it.

Speaker 4 (40:54):
Now.

Speaker 2 (40:55):
I can't blame him. I hate pressure. I am Monty Bilanos,
so I just can't. Don't put pressure on me right now.
Shape it was so good. Mary Mack on the ones
and tuessas joined us. Hagirl, Oh, Mary, welcome to the party.
We're happy to have you. NBA in full swing along
with everything else going on on this crazy month of March.

(41:17):
Carry But I briefly said it in the last hour
that this this week of the NBA has been funny
to me. You know, the Rockets lose to the Warriors
without Steph Curry, right. The Pistons just lost to the nets.
They didn't have Kate Cunningham, but they lost to the nets,
like all of these teams are. You're like, why are
you losing to these teams? It's just funny because sometimes

(41:40):
the picture you think you have of the NBA is
actually not correct because the regular season has been so
up and down the last couple of years with players,
you know, taking games off just for whatever reasons, whether
it's injury or or load management. But the regular season
has been I feel like sometimes a lie. I feel
like you and I have sat here and said that,
you know, but this past week there was a game,

(42:03):
and I know how much you love Victor Winn Banyama.

Speaker 1 (42:07):
No I do. I knew this.

Speaker 3 (42:10):
I knew this was going to happen.

Speaker 4 (42:12):
Yeah, I said, I said something last week when I
was just like, pumped the brakes on what his ceiling
is and if he's going to be the guy that's
going to take the NBA to this new stratosphere. And
so I know it lends itself perfectly to this conversation. Really,
but I do like him, So let's not says I was.

Speaker 2 (42:32):
I was, you know, poking fun and I know you
like him. You were just saying, like, guys, we don't
we don't really know what it is like. You know,
let's let's just pump the brakes because some of us
are just like, man, he's so great.

Speaker 3 (42:44):
I am one of those.

Speaker 2 (42:45):
I like watch him and I'm just like he seems
like I know, he's super tall, and so it's not
that it's impressive when he gets seven blocks. It's impressive
that he does everything else well right. And so that's
what I appreciate about Victor win Banyama. But this on Friday,
I believe it was Friday, My Clippers were up twenty five,
twenty five points against the Spurs in San Antonio. Kawhi

(43:08):
Leonard always plays well when he goes back to San Antonio,
even with all the booze, he always plays well. Clippers
were up twenty five and in the second half, San
Antonio just starts chipping and chipping and chipping. Comes down
to the final minute, Clippers are still in it, and
then a brain far after, a brain far after, a
brain fart, and the Clippers lose this game. I should

(43:31):
be upset. I should. I was a little bit annoyed
more than anything, because the Clippers do this to me a.

Speaker 3 (43:37):
Lot to a boy buys oh, I should do that.

Speaker 2 (43:41):
But after the game, Carrie, I sat there and I
watched Victor when Banyama get emotional, get so happy, go
up to Stefan Castle and hug him like like this
was not a regular season game, Like this was already

(44:02):
the playoffs, and it was a game that mattered more
than just adding it to your wins or your losses.
Call on and I sat there and I just was like,
this is why the NBA is in good hands. It's
not because the alien is the alien exactly it's because
of his approach to the game. We saw it at

(44:23):
the All Star Game, him playing defense. All of a sudden,
he one was like, oh, I gotta play defense because
he's playing defense. It's contagious. Yes, So if he's already
doing this and setting the tone for the young fellas,
like your boy Cooper Flag, who has who I think
has it in him right, Like he wants to win,
and he wants to play well and he wants to

(44:44):
be on the court. He's been hurt, so it hasn't
been exactly the ideal rookie season for Cooper Flag in
any way, shape or form. But Victor win Bayama hugging
Stefan Castle and getting emotional, I was like, that's it.
That is why the league is in good hands.

Speaker 3 (45:01):
I love that. I agree with you. I agree.

Speaker 4 (45:04):
I think there's a levels to it when you're when
your best player cares that much about the results, even
if it's a regular season game, preseason game, whatever, it is,
Like the motion that comes from that and trickles down
to your team, it's contagious. And sometimes it does look

(45:24):
annoying from the outside, some of the stuff that he does,
like it's almost like he's forcing it, but I don't
think he is, and I think he really cares about it.

Speaker 3 (45:32):
And in a moment like that that you're talking about,
I saw that and I was I was genuinely touched.

Speaker 4 (45:38):
I was like, this dude does really care and he
wants the best for not only him, for his team
as well.

Speaker 3 (45:44):
And so I think that part of it.

Speaker 4 (45:47):
It's such a I guess, like a it's such a
different mentality from like even like Ann Elwards. Right, absolutely,
he's like he doesn't care, meaning but that's part of
his show though he does care, but he presents himself
that when I So, I think those contrasting styles of
them two.

Speaker 3 (46:05):
If them two could be the top two teams moving forward.

Speaker 4 (46:07):
And they have to battle, I think the league will
be so good from just the Western Conference alone. Right,
you got somebody that's almost like can be an arch
nemesis because one seems like they care, Deldwin doesn't, and
you bring the best out of each other, they could
be cool.

Speaker 2 (46:21):
Oh okay, listen, you did get me on a train
because I was like, I don't like that, Anthony Edwards.
If if that's a shticks, you know, because you believe
it's a stick to me, I don't believe it's a stick.
I think Anthony Edwards wants to.

Speaker 6 (46:38):
Win, I do, but I think when he loses, he's like,
all right, yes, let's move on.

Speaker 2 (46:44):
And that's the difference, right. I feel like with Viktor
win Banyawa, even Cooper Flag again small, we have a
small sample size of what these guys are doing. I
feel like when they lose, it like it just makes
them feel sick.

Speaker 3 (46:57):
And on top of that, month it's not just him, No,
that whole team cares.

Speaker 2 (47:01):
That's what I'm saying. Contagious it is, but I guess.

Speaker 4 (47:04):
But I think his friendship and his relationship with Stefan Castle,
they are really joined at the hip, and so Stephan
Castle cares as well.

Speaker 3 (47:13):
And so it's crazy that team who is.

Speaker 2 (47:16):
Another young guy yep, like Stefan Castle has is not
a veteran. No, you know, we're not talking about dearon
Fox here who you know at this point he's a veteran,
right like we would say he's a veteran, He's not
a veteran. He's another young guy that seems to care
the way that Victor won Banyama, and we've seen it's
not the first time. I just like, this was the
first time I saw it in a game where like

(47:36):
they had to try. They were down twenty five. It
was a struggle. It didn't come easy, and they had
to play really good defense. They had to make the
Clippers uncomfortable in the final minutes, and they really did,
and it seems like it mattered so much to him,
And I was like, this is the type, this is
what I want to see. I feel like Jalen Brunson,
he hates losing. Yeah, we have him in front of

(47:56):
our screens right now with the Nick's losing right now
to the Lakers in LA one of the ninety. It's
about four minutes to go in the fourth quarter. He
looks like one of the guys that like it bothers
him if he loses, you know what I'm saying. And
we have the the we have the Lebron James of
the world that every play I see he's on the floor,
doesn't know which arm to grab, but every every every
play he's.

Speaker 3 (48:16):
Something hurts something.

Speaker 2 (48:17):
I mean, yeah, everything hurts for you, I'm sure because
you're old in a good way, Lebron, and in a
good way. Okay, no one could play like you at
your age, there's no denying that, right, but you you,
at this point, you make a mockery of the sport
to benefit yourself, to make yourself look better. And when
you have now these young guys putting kind of like

(48:38):
a different taste, a different flavor to the game, it's
even more obvious for the guys that don't care.

Speaker 3 (48:46):
And it's crazy. I'll say this, you just saw.

Speaker 4 (48:48):
I mean, you're a spot on with the youth movement
being a little bit more contagious to winning an effort,
which is a really great thing. But I mean it's
not just Victor, right, Like, it's not just it's not
just when, but you got when you have Cunningham, Kha
and Detroit who hates Salu it.

Speaker 2 (49:06):
Hates I was gonna say it looks like it irks him.

Speaker 12 (49:08):
Ry.

Speaker 4 (49:08):
Yeah, you got Castle, which I people don't talk about
him as far as being like a franchise guy, but
he is. I think it's both. I don't think it's
just Victor. I think it's him and Counsel on that
team alone. I agree with care about winning. And so
you have those guys and you even have like I
know people hate Boston and you have like Brown and
Tatum like those guys care about winning.

Speaker 3 (49:28):
Yes, so I would say the league is in good hands.

Speaker 2 (49:31):
And for a second, I was a little bit worried. Yes,
I was a little bit worried because you kind of
it's it's very difficult just in life to change and
spice things up something that has been the norm. Like
it's it's kind of scary to go in there and
try and change something that has been the same for
so long. And what I'm saying has been the same
for so long, where it's like the value of the
regular season of the NBA seems to have gone down

(49:53):
by a lot, Like a lot of players just don't care.
They're just like, let's just get to the postseason. And then, luckily,
because you're right, it's not just Swemby. You can even
look at the entire Oklahoma City Thunder team like right,
like all of them are all young, and they all
play the entire forty eight minutes from top to bottom.
They are in your pocket when you get out of
the busy, they are there. But now it's like other,

(50:14):
I feel like the contagiousness is starting to really spread
and now we're seeing it a little bit more so,
and it's easier to pinpoint where before it was like, oh,
like there, I think this guy cares. I think this
guy no, No, it's like no, these these young guys
are coming. They're coming.

Speaker 3 (50:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (50:30):
No, kids, if you're listening right now, it's cool to
compete and to care. Yes, I think that's the message
that Monsi's getting the cloth and myself as well.

Speaker 2 (50:39):
You should want to win, yeah, okay, and if you
don't win, it should bother you.

Speaker 3 (50:42):
It should you're playing a competitive sport.

Speaker 2 (50:44):
You should see me on Tuesday nights when I went
when I lose carry Oh.

Speaker 3 (50:47):
You still you're still getting there right now.

Speaker 2 (50:50):
I'm still I don't want to care level no, but
like I'm like at a seven and it's like I
don't want to care like this, but I can't help it.
And on Tuesday we played with five players and we
still won two of our three games with five. I
know sometimes people will be like, oh, do you wanna
do you want to use one of our guys, and
I'm like, no, I want to because we know how
to play against each other. We're easy. It's better with

(51:10):
five than you bringing me a random as a six player.
I don't I don't want that. And then like after
we won the first game, lost the second game, and
I made a few mistakes in the second game. So
when we start the third game, I'm like, guys, okay,
I'm sorry. I'm gonna do better. I won't make as
many mistakes.

Speaker 6 (51:23):
And my my best friend, my storty sister, actually she's like, girl,
it's okay.

Speaker 2 (51:26):
And I was like, actually, I am not here for fun.
I am not here for fun. I am here to win.
That's why I'm here. And then like my two bis
like like laps. It's like I don't want to feel
like that, but I can't help it.

Speaker 4 (51:38):
You know what's crazy, man, I'll take that loss and
go home as long as I'm healthy. Manti, I'm you know,
I'm in the lebron camp camp.

Speaker 2 (51:47):
I can't help it. Is it ever going to go away?

Speaker 3 (51:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (51:52):
Is it gonna go away?

Speaker 4 (51:53):
When your body is like I just want to make
it home safely, that's when it's going to change.

Speaker 2 (51:59):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (52:00):
I don't I can't believe that the competitiveness has left.

Speaker 4 (52:04):
You got into it left. But there is a level.
That's why I asked you what the level was, right?
You know, it's but it's really.

Speaker 2 (52:12):
And I just wish I didn't care. I wish I
could just have fun, but I can't. I have fun
when I win.

Speaker 6 (52:20):
We always win when we have Adam Kaplan on and
he is going to join us.

Speaker 2 (52:24):
On the other side of this, so we can dive
into the NFL, because we talked about the Raiders in
the first hour, but so much has happened in the
NFL just this week alone, So we can ask Adam
Kaplan all of those burning questions. Don't go anywhere. He
is Carrie rhads the All Pro safety. I am Monty Bolanos,
And you are listening to Fox Sports Radio. Listening to
Fox Sports Radio Radio Sunday Fun Day. Here at Fox

(52:47):
Sports Radio. I am Monty Bolanos. He is the All
Pro safety, Carrie Rhoades. Jason B. Diamond tweeted at us said,
with the lack of offensive talent around him, sign a
veteran quarterback. Letman dozes sit a couple of weeks.

Speaker 4 (53:03):
See, we got some some of our listeners out there.
Good job, Jason, I appreciate you.

Speaker 3 (53:07):
Brother.

Speaker 2 (53:08):
Carrie. Why is your chair so high?

Speaker 3 (53:09):
I don't know it rolls up by itself.

Speaker 2 (53:11):
What are we doing here? Can't you see this.

Speaker 14 (53:14):
It's such a funny image. Rolls up by itself, rolling down,
rolls up.

Speaker 4 (53:25):
You don't understand. This thing is insane. It goes up
and down. While I'm sitting here, I just I just
roll with the punches.

Speaker 6 (53:30):
Carry's seat is so high that I think his legs
are dangling, and they are not.

Speaker 2 (53:35):
And that's that's how high his chair is. He sits
like I got. My feet are always dangling. I don't
think Adam Kaplan's feet are dangling when he sits anywhere.
I don't think he's a short guy, or like I
am a short girl. Adam Kaplan, are you there?

Speaker 11 (53:51):
I am guy. Yeah, I'm six one. Yeah, I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (53:54):
You're fine. You should see Carry right now. His chair
is so high his feet are day seem.

Speaker 3 (53:58):
Like Phil Jackson right now.

Speaker 2 (54:02):
Adam kaviln ur NFL Insider Inside the Birds podcast, Adam.
So much has happened this week, but let's let's dive
into the Raiders, which Carrie and I did discuss that
I cannot believe that the Raiders are thinking of not
starting for Nando Mendoza and grabbing a veteran quarterback. I
don't know what veteran quarterback they're thinking of. But to me,
if you're going to take him number one, he is

(54:23):
your future. You put him out there.

Speaker 15 (54:25):
Typically, Mancy, these days, the rookie, the first rump pick
plays so long as they don't think he's behind, he's
gonna play and they're just gonna have to live with it.
When I first started covering, he wasn't like that there,
like what about you, Carrie. But teams are different. They're like, no, no, no,
we're not going to rush this. Now they're like, let
them learn. He only learns by playing. And you know

(54:46):
they more often not. The clubs are right.

Speaker 11 (54:48):
You take your you just you lick your wounds.

Speaker 15 (54:51):
If it's if it's a rough rookie season, if the
guy lea stayed healthy, you hope that you've got a
good coaching staff that they're going to be back with you.
But now when you look at the situation, you've got
a brand new coaching staff. At least a GM is
back at John Spytech. Who made the big trade this week.
Obviously that was there was a big decision. We obviously
can get to that. But this is a rebuild. Okay,

(55:13):
this is a total rebuild. They have the NFL's worst roster.
I don't even think it's debatable. They earned it Trump Peck.
But whether they were trying or not, Moncie to be
the worst team, they're the worst team, and all they
could do is go from.

Speaker 4 (55:25):
There and see, Adam, I knew you would agree with
me on that, just because your your coverage is in
doing it, so long as far as that was my
stance too, like I've just seen enough of both ways
and we both agreed. It doesn't I mean, nobody's right
or wrong here, but I the thing you just said
with the Intel, I was like, they know what type
they shouldn't know what type of guy he is, and
so throwing him out there in the fire with this roster.

(55:47):
For me, I can understand their stands on it, but
I want to switch over to the trade. Right and
so obviously Max Cosby to the Baltimore Ravens for first
for two first round picks twenty six twenty twenty seven.
What does it do for both teams? I think obviously,
I think the Raiders made the right move by you know,
cutting free. They got so many holes they need other options.
And for the Ravens, right, they finally get a closer

(56:10):
to go into games. I think that was one of
their biggest, you know, biggest buggaboos. They couldn't close games.
So how do you feel about this trade?

Speaker 11 (56:16):
Yeah, it's I can tell you that. I don't think
John Spike Tech wanted to do it.

Speaker 15 (56:21):
What happened is he put the price out at the
combine of two first round picks, and as of Friday afternoon,
I was told every team was out other than Dallas
and Baltimore, and three or four hours later the trade
got consummated. Now the reason why spy Tech finally gave
and said, you know what, it's just not worth it.
The guy's not happy and uh so close to Crosby's

(56:43):
told me repeatedly over the last two years that he
does not want to be around a rebuild. Well, even
without this trade, if Crosby was there, it's a rebuild.
It's a terrible football team. They're going to have a
quarterback obviously in Mendoza, but they have a bad roster.
And you know, I felt bad when he came here
to play against the Eagles. They got blown out, and
he's like a one man band.

Speaker 11 (57:03):
He has no help.

Speaker 15 (57:04):
And yes, obviously this situation with his The knee surgery
wound up being worse than we anticipated it. It woud
up being a tornamniscus. He had the repair its four
to six month rehab. He's had a lot of surgeries
in his career, and he's had a lot of cary.
He's played a ton of snaps. Yeah, he's like, he'sn't.

Speaker 4 (57:24):
Worried about He's an old twenty eight at him, I
know he turned right, especially twenty nine.

Speaker 11 (57:29):
He turns twenty nine. No, but he's you're right, he's twenty.

Speaker 15 (57:31):
He turns twenty nine August, which means RENFO persons, he's
twenty nine.

Speaker 11 (57:34):
You kind of worried about that.

Speaker 15 (57:36):
It's a lot to give up, but it gives John Spytech,
who's won a lot in his career with the Eagles,
the Broncos, and the Buccaneers. He's been around Tom Brady
a long time now. Him and Brady will work together
to get this thing turned around, but they have a
long way to go.

Speaker 2 (57:51):
Adam Kaplan, you just gave me the perfect transition mentioning
the Buccaneers. With reports earlier today that wide receiver Mike
Evans why I Love, will be testing free agency what
are the chances that he goes to my Chargers.

Speaker 15 (58:04):
Well, here's his plan has been all along, and his agent,
Derek Gilmore, is for him to seriously test for agency
for the first time like not like not just you know, hey,
I want to stay at Buck and you know that
I'm not really going to entertain anything this time around.
He's going to entertain it. And look, he's won a
Serper Bowl before. That's not the issue.

Speaker 5 (58:23):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 15 (58:23):
This is his last bite at the Apple. You obviously
take Buffalo off the list with the DJ Moore trade.
The Chargers are absolutely looking for help. Now you have
to understand, if you just looked at it, you go, well,
we they have Quinn Johnston, well, Quinn johnsons on the
last year as a rookie deal. Yeah, we have to
remember that this front office of coaching staff was not
there when he was drafted.

Speaker 11 (58:43):
They have no allegiance to him.

Speaker 15 (58:44):
They could do whatever they want and I could tell
you the talk from the combine was that they're looking
to get an upgrade. Keenan Allen's up who was their
slot receiver? McConkey has been a great story. Trey Harris
is not ready yet. Who was a Shcheka rounder last season.
They want one more piece that will certainly help them
if they could get somebody like Evan's or a veteran receiver.

(59:05):
Now here's the thing, though, guys that I'm looking at
my file here at veteran receivers, just not a good list.
Mike Evans is going to make some coin here with
I know Buffalo's they don't need anyone right now, but
New England if they cannot pray aj Brown off from
the Eagles, and boy, it's been really hard.

Speaker 11 (59:21):
The New England, I'm told by.

Speaker 15 (59:22):
Multiple people, have tried really hard and the Eagles really
don't want to trade him, but they have not gotten
their price yet. Honestly, it's the guys who are out
the Deebo Samuel is a nice player, but he's a
specialty player.

Speaker 11 (59:34):
Wanda Robinson's going to get paid. He's a slot receiver. Now.

Speaker 15 (59:37):
Calvin Riley could be cut realistically, he's got a bad contract.

Speaker 11 (59:41):
He was hurt last season.

Speaker 3 (59:42):
Most of it.

Speaker 15 (59:44):
I'm looking at my list at Cooper Cup may not stay.
He's oute about thirteen million and they have to make
a decision on a guaranteed A nine million becomes guaranteed,
fully guaranteed on March fifteenth for Cooper Cup. So, guys,
I'm telling you there's really nothing out there. Mike Evans
should do very very well.

Speaker 4 (01:00:00):
Adam the thing you just said something about the Buffalo
thing and DJ Moore they say they got that guy?

Speaker 3 (01:00:07):
Are they? Are they sure about that?

Speaker 10 (01:00:08):
Like?

Speaker 4 (01:00:08):
What's thee I mean? I think the Moore is a
good player. I don't know how how good he is.
Could you inform me and the listeners as well?

Speaker 15 (01:00:15):
Honestly the last two years carry he's actually dropped off.
That's what I'm and if that's where you're going, Yeah,
you and I are seeing the same way. He's a
good player. No, he's playing with a young quarterback. They
had a lot of pass targets. They had a very
diverse group of past targets. Now here's why he's going
to have to be the guy twenty four point five
million in cash this season that he's owed. Okay, so

(01:00:37):
he's got to be the guy to justify the straight
Jeff Palmer's not worked out.

Speaker 11 (01:00:41):
Former charge of receiver. I've always liked I was more
of a number three.

Speaker 15 (01:00:44):
Khalil Shake cares more of a number three who's who's
making over thirteen million per season. He's just not a
lead receiver. Kean Coleman has been a major disappointment. That's
why they made this trade. Now they'll be better for it.
And you know, Joe Brady is now their head coach,
who who's been the play called for the last few years.
But there's gonna be a lot of pressure here and
DJ Moore's got to live up to it.

Speaker 11 (01:01:05):
Carry I'm with you. To me, it's like a one A.
I don't think he's a one. Right.

Speaker 2 (01:01:10):
We are talking to our NFL insider, Adam Kaplan. You
can hear him on Inside the Birds podcast. You can
see him on Sports Grade TV. Adam, let's shift over
to the New York Jets. They do have the second overall, yeah,
the sixteenth, the row big, but they don't have a quarterback.
What is the latest situation with New York and their quarterback?

Speaker 11 (01:01:33):
They're gonna get involved with a veteran quarterback.

Speaker 15 (01:01:35):
That's kind of the word that I've had for a
couple of weeks now, whether it's Kirk Cousins who gets
cut by Atlanta on Wednesday, he should be cut around
for Eastern That's when they can do it, and they'll
have to live with a cap hit the Falcons, But
that's kind of the way that they plan this out.

Speaker 11 (01:01:53):
They're gonna look for a veteran. That's the direction they're gonna.

Speaker 15 (01:01:56):
Go, and they're alsosly gonna They're obviously gonna have to
add a young quarterback. But man, and we'll talk more
about this in the coming weeks, it is just not
good for the draft. I sometimes I say this that
I want it being better than you expect. But they
missed badly on Justin Justin Fields. I'm still the old
Fields contract Manzi. He's owed twenty million cash. Ten of
it's fully guaranteed, so they're gonna have to eat that.

(01:02:17):
That didn't work out. I don't know why they gave
him fully guaranteed money near two. That was stupid. I
know they didn't expect it to fail. But Justin Fields
has never been a consistently good quarterback. That's just been
Unfortunately he's still young guy, but he's not been very good. Yeah,
So Mancie, they'll bring a veteran in, They'll draft some one.
Uh they I'll say this much about Darren Mougie, their
general managers. They have so many draft picks the last

(01:02:40):
the next three years, it's hard to they have a
bad roster. It sound like they're gonna make the playoffs
next season. But in two or three years, if he
drafts extremely well and they made that big trade to
get to Andandre sweat de tackle from the Titans, they
get this turnaround two or three years.

Speaker 4 (01:02:55):
We talked about somebody that that is just about to
be released by their team. I want you to name
this guy. Ada won't put you on the spot. He's
about to be released by his team. But he's also
a five tool baseball player as well.

Speaker 3 (01:03:08):
Is there any.

Speaker 11 (01:03:11):
Kyl's a great looked really good.

Speaker 3 (01:03:14):
Is there any way that he would leave the ball
to go play baseball again?

Speaker 11 (01:03:16):
I don't see it.

Speaker 15 (01:03:18):
I just he's made see I know he's made a
ton of money, and he's still owed a lot of
money even if he decided again and they own money.
It's just crazy. Now, I'll say this about his career
football career. I'm expecting two to three teams to be
on it. Whether it's Minnesota. I know there's a rumor
out there people know who close to Murray think that

(01:03:41):
that's got a real chance of happening as I understand it.
You know, Minnesota knows that they have to do something quarterback.
They're going to bring someone into compete against McCarthy.

Speaker 11 (01:03:48):
That's happening.

Speaker 2 (01:03:49):
Ye.

Speaker 15 (01:03:50):
But yeah, the baseball thing, he he never really flirted
with it. He just talked about it. Well, here's the thing, Kerry,
if if he doesn't get what he wants, that becomes possible.

Speaker 11 (01:04:01):
I still think he does that.

Speaker 15 (01:04:04):
But Mancy, I'm telling you this, if you're like Kirk,
causes my final starting jobs more because after Mendoza, there's
still seven teams that need a quarterback, right the Raiders
are one of the eight, But then scratch them off
because we'll be Mendoza. There's just not enough quarterbacks to
go around. That's the stay of the league at the
quarterback position.

Speaker 2 (01:04:21):
I can't wait to get all these answered, all these
questions answered in the coming weeks as we get ready
for the NFL season that we're all waiting for. And
it's only March. Adam, thank you so much for joining us.
You'll be back next week with probably Dan and Carrie,
not me. Hey bye, Adam Kaplan. You can follow him

(01:04:43):
on Twitter x at Kaplan and FL and now let's
go over to the news desk. Christopher Fett has officially
moved to the news desk. What's going on?

Speaker 3 (01:04:51):
Didn't comfy over here? Just what we gotta do. Just
gotta be comfy.

Speaker 10 (01:04:54):
Wherever you're at, wherever we are at, wherever you are
in life. Try to stay comfy out there. Let's get
you caught up. Currently on the hardwood right now on
the in side of college basketball, Michigan and Michigan say,
Michigan's already clinched the Big Ten title. It is currently
and I just lost my note. That's also seventy three
sixty eight Michigan over Michigan say, four minutes to go.

(01:05:17):
Jeremy Fears junior to Michigan Sate was assessed a technical
foul for kicking someone in the groin again.

Speaker 3 (01:05:22):
He's so dirty, he keeps doing this. He's a dirty guy.
Is this the Journeys guy since Grayson Allen?

Speaker 4 (01:05:28):
Why?

Speaker 10 (01:05:30):
Because that is absolutely true of Grayson Allen, and you
know it. He was the last Dukey that Duke ever produced.
Duke hasn't been the same since, although they still win him.
But it's very close, Chris. Nobody's been able to hate
Duke since we lost Grayson Allen. We need a Grayson
Allen to hate duke. I hate this likable duke. You
get rid of coach k and everything.

Speaker 3 (01:05:50):
What are we doing here?

Speaker 10 (01:05:51):
Second half underway between Nebraska and Iowa, as well as
a Big ten season coming to a close forty six
thirty five over Iowa. Some championships that got settled. On
the lower rungs. Queen's University of Charlotte rolled Central Arkansas
ninety eight ninety three in overtime their first ever NCUBLEA
Tournament berth as they go in there as the a

(01:06:12):
Sun Tournament champions high point going back to the dance
after winning the Big South of the ninety one seventy
six victory over Winthrop. On the pro side, Lakers take
down the Knicks one ten ninety seven Luka Doncic with
thirty five points eight rebounds in that affair just underway
close to the end of the first quarter for Detroit
and Miami. Miami with a twenty five fifteen lead early

(01:06:36):
spurt there and with two minutes ago in the first quarter,
Dallas and Toronto Raptors on top by a narrow margin
of twenty six twenty four.

Speaker 3 (01:06:45):
On the women's side.

Speaker 10 (01:06:46):
Texas wins their first SEC championship with the defeat of
South Carolina seventy eight sixty one, and UCLA claims the
Big Ten with a crushing defeat of Iowa ninety six
forty five. Cardinals running back James Connor has restructured the
final year of his contract remained with Arizona for the
twenty twenty six NFL season. Diana Rassini is also reporting

(01:07:08):
that signs look optimistic towards Travis Kelce looking to be
coming back for another year in the NFL, although teams
still of course to be decided if he'll be back
with the Chiefs or not, so we will keep an
eye on that. It's a lot of signs, team signs, optimistic,
looking all that kind of fun stuff that we get

(01:07:29):
to and of course reminder, the tampering period opens at
noon Eastern on Monday, the real start a free agency.
Back to carry and Monsei.

Speaker 2 (01:07:37):
Thanks Chris, don't go too far, Christopher feed As, we're
gonna dive into easy as one tu if you've never
heard this before, it's really easy. I'm just gonna present
some questions over to Carrie Rhodes, but he doesn't have
to answer them alone. He's got a team, Mary, Shay, Chris,
they're all here to help him. Now. I'm not gonna lie.
I think this one's a little hard, but I think

(01:08:01):
you can do it. We did, Okay, we did, Okay,
we did.

Speaker 1 (01:08:07):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:08:07):
I'm gonna put the over under at six and a half. Whoa, okay,
and I've got a little bit of everything. So let's
just lets getting her headphones. I think she's getting her
headphones so she can dive into the way.

Speaker 10 (01:08:24):
Dan calling you out last week being like you've you've
gotten it soft on Carrie by allowing unlimited.

Speaker 2 (01:08:30):
Well, you know that's how I like to roll, So
I do what I want. Let's get into it, Okay, Carrie,
name one of two cities where the National Women's Soccer
League is going to be expanding this year. The new
National Women's Soccer They start this Friday, and there's two
new teams.

Speaker 4 (01:08:46):
One of two cities. Uh, two new cities. Anybody anybody know?

Speaker 3 (01:09:00):
Happy International Women's Day.

Speaker 4 (01:09:04):
Ah, this is a hard one, right, here's the hard
one I'm gonna I don't think anybody else knows.

Speaker 3 (01:09:08):
I'm going to take a step. You know something I
saw you moving.

Speaker 9 (01:09:12):
I would just say, like think of like not like
something like New York or Chicago, but maybe like a
Nashville maybe something like that, you know, like something that's
like it's big, it's a big city. Maybe like an Austin,
you know, like something like that, you know, like that's
that's I have no idea where it is, but that's
the only advice I can give you.

Speaker 5 (01:09:29):
I was gonna say Chicago. So actually, but I feel like.

Speaker 4 (01:09:32):
Chicago would already have one, you know what I mean,
maybe like like Massachusetts, like a Foxborough or something like Detroit.

Speaker 10 (01:09:40):
That might be see NWSL is kind of weird like that,
and that they only have a few cities like you
were saying Massachusetts, that might I think.

Speaker 3 (01:09:47):
So I don't think there's one in Boston. Yeah, I
think that they might go.

Speaker 5 (01:09:50):
I hate I don't hate the Texas what he was saying.

Speaker 3 (01:09:53):
I don't hate it. I like Boston. I like that
it's one or two.

Speaker 2 (01:09:57):
It's one. Yeah, let's no no pressure, Let's go there. Boston. Yeah,
show me Boston. Come. I'm done. That was impressed you.
You talked it out and you got there. Boston Legacy
FC and Denver Summit. Those are the two new ones.

(01:10:21):
Are you guys, that's impressive?

Speaker 3 (01:10:23):
Are you not entertained?

Speaker 2 (01:10:24):
I am so entertained. All right, let's move on here
the Oscars a week from today. Name two of the
three actors that have been nominated for the most Actors
for the Best Actor This men and women so together,
say one more time, most the actors. Two of three
actors men and women, so putting it together that have
been nominated for the most Oscars was the most nomination

(01:10:44):
yet nominated ever?

Speaker 10 (01:10:46):
Ever?

Speaker 2 (01:10:46):
Ever? Two of the three?

Speaker 3 (01:10:48):
Ever?

Speaker 9 (01:10:49):
Wow?

Speaker 10 (01:10:50):
Well, I don't go like Sean Penn, I know is
going for his third Oscar. I don't know if he's
been nominated A tonight. I would thank Leonardo DiCaprio one.

Speaker 5 (01:11:02):
Oh yeah, Leo would be one.

Speaker 3 (01:11:03):
He's one for sure. And is he nominade this year?

Speaker 13 (01:11:06):
Yes?

Speaker 12 (01:11:07):
He is?

Speaker 2 (01:11:07):
Okay, So how many you need to Two of the
three actors, women and men have been nominated for the
most Oscars.

Speaker 3 (01:11:14):
I do like Leo, I'm gonna I'm gonna be confident
about that.

Speaker 4 (01:11:17):
One for sure. Doesn't mean it's right, but Leo and
we need one more. See throughout the women as well.
So I would think that that there's one there as well. Guys,
you guys, I.

Speaker 3 (01:11:28):
Don't know the one Denzel is Denzel maybe one. I
was gonna say Denzel, but he's one though you said no,
most nominated.

Speaker 2 (01:11:34):
In general, in general doesn't have to be that they want.

Speaker 16 (01:11:37):
I was gonna say Denzel too, but I don't know
what recent movie he's just dropped.

Speaker 3 (01:11:41):
I'm just trying to remember who the nominees this year
are are. But the number actress, Oh, I don't see,
that's I don't know.

Speaker 5 (01:11:47):
I'm I think it would be like in all Oscar's history, right, yes, correct.

Speaker 3 (01:11:53):
Yes, but you go like Marlon Brendo or like somebody
like that. Why not.

Speaker 4 (01:12:02):
Time?

Speaker 10 (01:12:03):
I'm tremor because we had Lucky the Shoe on earlier
on another show and we were talking, Oh, Amy Madigan,
that's what we were talking about.

Speaker 2 (01:12:11):
Giving two of the three actors nominated up first.

Speaker 10 (01:12:17):
I think when weapons yeah, yeah, And I think Gwyneth
Paltrow is also in this this year two.

Speaker 4 (01:12:22):
I think I like mad At Madigan as one. No,
Madigan's not one, No, not all the time. Let's just
go Le, let's go Leonardo, and let's go Denzel.

Speaker 3 (01:12:30):
We don't got time, but I don't know from Denzel.

Speaker 2 (01:12:33):
Okay, is it Leonardo DiCaprio. No, he has been nominated
eight times a lot. That is a lot. And is
it Denzel Washing No, I actually don't know how many.
I'll find that out in the breaks. We'll take a
break and finish on the other side. You guys are
gonna probably feel a little bit dumb. Meryl Streep, Oh, mysh,
Meryl Streep has been nominated the most out of anybody

(01:12:55):
twenty one times. Wow, Yes, I thought you maybe would
get Meryl Streep.

Speaker 16 (01:13:00):
Jack Nicholson and came in and he literally said his name,
Jack Nichols on your.

Speaker 6 (01:13:06):
Side, and Catherine Hepburn, Katherine Heppern, who was hard.

Speaker 2 (01:13:10):
Yeah, but twelve both of them. Twelve Jack Nicholson, twelve
Merl Streep twenty twenty one time I'm nominated. Yes, I know,
that is a lot. Don't go anywhere easy as one, two, three, four.
We'll wrap up on the other side. Give these guys
and lady a break since I'm giving them more questions.
It's Fox Sports Radio. He's carried the All Pro safety.

(01:14:08):
two three.

Speaker 3 (01:14:08):
Four, Scotti total Field Jackson.

Speaker 2 (01:14:12):
Right, you are really you do look like that? Actually
easy as one, two three four where I asked the
crew a bunch of questions ranging from sports to the oscars,
and I made this one hard. So the over under
was at six and a half for a total of
ten points that they can win. They're at one point
right now, but we only had two questions, so there's

(01:14:33):
plenty of opportunities right now to get these seven points. Guys,
all right, name three of five because there was a tie,
But name three of five, and this is going into
today's NBA games. Name three of five players in the
NBA that have made the most three pointers this season.
Number one is kan nippleck.

Speaker 3 (01:14:53):
That's one. I'm going to say. Anthony Edwards is up
there as well. Okay, is it made or is it attempted?

Speaker 2 (01:15:03):
Cleary Anthony Edwards three of five because there's a I but.

Speaker 3 (01:15:09):
Yes, and I would think, Tyree, Max, Yeah, he just
the record, you go all right? So I got those
three in my mind.

Speaker 10 (01:15:16):
Well, he broke the sixers records, so I think I
don't think it's I'm not sure it's Maxie.

Speaker 11 (01:15:22):
I think can we.

Speaker 3 (01:15:24):
I'm not gonna let you talk me out of this.
He's definitely in the top five. He's definitely upset five,
so it's definitely up there.

Speaker 5 (01:15:31):
And if he's up there safe.

Speaker 4 (01:15:32):
But I'm not changing that. So con Andy and who else?
You guy's got anybody else that you can throw to
me right now?

Speaker 3 (01:15:40):
On mine?

Speaker 10 (01:15:41):
I gotta imagine it's like Luka Doncic has to be
up there. He Oh, he's attempted a lot, so probably.

Speaker 2 (01:15:47):
He's definitely attempted, but it's made. We're going made, no cheating, Chris,
I don't know what you're looking at A definitely script,
so well, yeah, this is the time to look at
your script while we're doing easy as what two three, four,
and all right, I like those?

Speaker 3 (01:16:02):
You like those?

Speaker 2 (01:16:03):
I like those. I like the support from Mary say
and told me.

Speaker 9 (01:16:06):
One more that just in my mind, I'm thinking right
now the trade. The trade is hard and kind of
I don't think.

Speaker 3 (01:16:13):
It's all right, let's go, let's go with the I
need one more, just to.

Speaker 9 (01:16:16):
Have there's one more. There's one, but I just knowed three.
But out of the far it's Tyres and Connor. So
it's and your and yeah's up there.

Speaker 6 (01:16:28):
I'm going to those three, all right, all right, that
is correct.

Speaker 2 (01:16:34):
He has made the most two hundred and twenty two threes,
breaking the record for a rookie as well. Show me
Tyree's MAXI he's coming that number two with two hundred
and two, made three starting to talk to me out
of Tyree's Maxie. I can't believe you, Chris, and is
it Anthony?

Speaker 3 (01:16:52):
That's what I needed? One more?

Speaker 2 (01:16:53):
Guys, you did, but you got hey, you got two there.
The others were Dante Devencenzo one have got one ninety
six and also Colin Gillips Gallopsy and Donovan Mitchell and Donovan.

Speaker 3 (01:17:08):
Got one of those.

Speaker 2 (01:17:11):
Luca has made the most attempts the most attempt.

Speaker 9 (01:17:14):
Yeah, but he not made not you weren't of I
was going to say Donovan Mitchell, but then James Herden
came in.

Speaker 3 (01:17:19):
But we Gott's last question here.

Speaker 2 (01:17:22):
Okay, name four of the five coaches in Division one
men's basketball that have nine hundred victories?

Speaker 4 (01:17:30):
Okay, so yeah, you got you got Bill Self's got
to be there.

Speaker 5 (01:17:37):
Okay, I think might be in there.

Speaker 3 (01:17:39):
Okay, we'll go. I got Chris On. He just long,
extremely long tenure.

Speaker 5 (01:17:45):
Yes, wait, wait, celebrating.

Speaker 4 (01:17:47):
Yeah, so Bill, Rick Patino for sure is up there.
How many PARI maybe I would take?

Speaker 3 (01:17:55):
This is one team? No four or five?

Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
No, this is just overall those nine hundred wins.

Speaker 3 (01:18:02):
Let's go.

Speaker 4 (01:18:02):
Let's gozz O Calipari, Bill's self and Patino and Potato.

Speaker 3 (01:18:10):
Potato those three for sure?

Speaker 2 (01:18:14):
Who else?

Speaker 11 (01:18:15):
I want?

Speaker 4 (01:18:16):
Self? He said, because he's Illinois. He won a lot
there and won a lot in Kansas.

Speaker 3 (01:18:20):
Off won a lot in Kansas. Yeah, let's go to
use four.

Speaker 6 (01:18:22):
All right, got it? Show me John Calipari.

Speaker 2 (01:18:26):
Yeah, he just hit nine hundred on Saturday with the
Razorbacks eighty eight to eighty four victory over Missouri. Show
me Rick Patino that is correct, he's another one.

Speaker 3 (01:18:37):
Oh, Larry Birdie walking through that door?

Speaker 15 (01:18:39):
Is it?

Speaker 16 (01:18:40):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:18:40):
Lord?

Speaker 2 (01:18:41):
Tom?

Speaker 3 (01:18:41):
Is are you kidding me? Chris kidding something too?

Speaker 10 (01:18:45):
Like?

Speaker 2 (01:18:46):
Literally tom Izzo has seven hundred and fifty one?

Speaker 5 (01:18:48):
Cake, I remember the seven hundred?

Speaker 2 (01:18:51):
Yeah, not nine hundred? Is it Bill Self?

Speaker 3 (01:18:55):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (01:18:57):
I don't know Bill selfs wins. I'll get there free
in a second. But you're gonna feel dumb. Wait, hold on, wait,
I wanted to say the who was just in the news?

Speaker 11 (01:19:07):
Is it Don Hurley?

Speaker 7 (01:19:08):
Hurley?

Speaker 5 (01:19:08):
Is he in there?

Speaker 3 (01:19:09):
No, he's not, He's not had eight hundred plus?

Speaker 11 (01:19:13):
I'm close?

Speaker 3 (01:19:15):
Who else?

Speaker 2 (01:19:15):
Who is Monty ready? Mike Skowski? Oh no, just.

Speaker 4 (01:19:24):
I would have got Beheim all those guys right, yeah?
Time and one more and uh one more? I would go,
is it men's and women?

Speaker 2 (01:19:37):
Just man's?

Speaker 3 (01:19:39):

One more like just all time? Who is the U
C l A Coach?

Speaker 10 (01:19:54):
Oh? Is it? Is it?

Speaker 3 (01:19:54):
Wooden?

Speaker 10 (01:19:55):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:19:55):
Okay, okay, tell me last one?

Speaker 2 (01:19:59):
Roy Williams course, yes, wow? So those John Caliperry. I
didn't say acted. I'm not saying yeah, I didn't. I
Jim Beyheim, Rick Patino, Roy Williams call, I didn't say
the word active. I just said it was nine hundred
wins and division ones.

Speaker 3 (01:20:18):
Yeah, I would have killed at all you did.

Speaker 2 (01:20:21):
You did, so it's kind I knew you want to
get that. It's all right. We'll say you kind of won.
It's all right. Don't go anywhere. We've got one more
hour to go here at Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (01:20:30):
Please listening to Fox Sports Radio. That's right.

Speaker 2 (01:20:34):
What's up, everybody? Happy Sunday, Fun Day from Fox Sports Radio.
Carrie Roads all pro Safety. You can follow him on
ex Twitter at Carrie twenty five Roads or on Instagram
at Carry Roads. I am Moncey Bolanos and you can
follow me across social media at Moncey Bolanos. Carrie. Yeah,
March madness is almost here. I mean we're literally in

(01:20:55):
the middle of some of the madness for some of
these schools as they're punching their ticket to the Big Dance.
Talked about it a little bit earlier in the first hour,
which you know, if you miss any of today's show,
you want to call, you definitely want to catch the podcast.
Just search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcasts.
Right after the show, Today's podcast is going to be
posted thanks to our producer Shaye Morgan Guard. Also, if
you just follow us, we'll retweet it, we'll put it

(01:21:16):
out there. Be sure to follow the podcast rate at
five stars, and you can even provide a review. Again,
just search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcasts
and you'll find today's full show. Post it right after
we get off the air. But we talked about like
the moments, like I don't know if there's anything to
compare to win a school for the very first time
punches their ticket to the Big Dance when I have
no connection to them, but I see them and the

(01:21:37):
feels that you get. I don't know if, like you
said it best, I don't know if those fills, those
feels come with anything else, like like a total disconnect.
I have nothing connected to this team. I just found
out there Queen's University is not Queen's New York, you
know what I'm saying, Like, we just found this out,
and I'm over here getting goosebumps and emotional for a
team going to the dance for the first time.

Speaker 3 (01:21:59):
Nothing like it.

Speaker 2 (01:22:00):
So tell me something I can't I can't wrap my
head around this discussion on social media on the air
about an undefeated team in Division one possibly not making
it to the dance.

Speaker 3 (01:22:16):
All right, I'm gonna stop you there. Put the camera
on means Shay caroon him.

Speaker 4 (01:22:22):
If Miami of Ohio doesn't get a shot at the
tournament being undefeated, I don't care if they're losing their
tournament or right they are undefeated. It's a great story
you put those young men in. Monsey talked about it
early in the opening of the show. There's nothing like
these kids in this moment. You only get one chance

(01:22:46):
at this, especially coming from teams like that. We talked
about queens or whatever. But in Miami of Ohio doesn't
get in the tournament, I made boycott it. And I
am one of the most loyal of fans when it
comes to Mars Madness really here, if they don't get in,
I may not watch it. That's and the fact that

(01:23:08):
we're even having this conversation MONSI, I know that it's
part of it, but there's no way this team doesn't
deserve to get in.

Speaker 2 (01:23:15):
You know, I'm really glad that we completely agree on this,
as we've kind of disagreed throughout the show for other reasons.
Here we completely agree I didn't even know it was
a thing, Like I didn't even know. It was like, well,
we don't know if they're gonna make it. They're on
the verge. What are we talking about? I thirty two
and O. That's not easy to do. It doesn't matter

(01:23:35):
if you are telling me that the strength of schedule
isn't what other teams have. I also read that they
tried to schedule games against other teams that would have
mattered more, but they didn't get it.

Speaker 6 (01:23:46):
So they tried. It wasn't like they were trying to
take the easy road here.

Speaker 2 (01:23:50):
They didn't do that. They tried, and they still came
out thirty two and zero on the season. And even
if they don't go far, why why burst their bubble
when you were undefeated? Let them go out there and
events at least they made it. Especially now, Carrie, how.

Speaker 3 (01:24:07):
Many teams are on this how many teams are sixty eight?

Speaker 5 (01:24:12):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (01:24:12):
And we can't put them in and we can't put
them in, you know, Like I think about college football.
What was it three years ago with Florida State and
their season, but they lose their quarterback and it was like, oh,
are they gonna make it? But at that time. I
think it was the final year of the four right
going into the college football playoffs. And so I feel like,

(01:24:34):
if this situation, if this field was okay, the top twelve,
all right, maybe you don't want to put them in,
I guess, but you're telling me when you're putting in sixty.

Speaker 6 (01:24:43):
Eight teams, you can't put in the undefeated team.

Speaker 4 (01:24:45):
And you put in these teams that have twelve thirteen losses,
doesn't matter what division they play, and you had your
opportunities to win and you lost them. And this one
you'd said it a great point that you brought up,
Manty is we don't know if they tried to schedule
these teams, and in your words, they did they go
and we know that a lot of times in college basketball,
teams don't want to do home and home things, and

(01:25:07):
they don't want to play these on these neutral sites
against teams that could they could possibly face later on
in the year to give away who they are. So
there's so many different variables that come into place when
you're trying to schedule games. And so the fact that
they tried and then they did what they had to do,
they controlled their own destiny by winning every game. It
doesn't matter if it was close, doesn't matter if it

(01:25:29):
was competitive, and it's not a competitive league.

Speaker 3 (01:25:31):
They've won every game. They deserve to be in the dance.

Speaker 2 (01:25:35):
And then this brings to the next bigger picture, right
of them wanting to expand it even more. No, it
makes no sense to me because I feel like, if
you're already having these bubble teams, which is like the
problem that all these these bubble teams were, the schools
are like, how is this a bubble team? You should
put them in right?

Speaker 7 (01:25:53):
Ye?

Speaker 2 (01:25:53):
If you expand it, is it really going to help
those bubble teams or is it just gonna help the
big schools.

Speaker 4 (01:25:59):
Already it's just going to help other people be on
the bubble, that's it, Because even if it's seventy two,
is going to be seventy six, it's gonna be the
first four out there.

Speaker 3 (01:26:07):
So it's still the same conversation Monty, the.

Speaker 2 (01:26:10):
Same I could not and this is I feel like,
this is that example of why you shouldn't expand. If
this team is already questionable with sixty eight, why are
we expanding this tournament? It makes absolutely no sense. It
makes absolutely no sense that it's a discussion of whether
they should be in or not as we get closer

(01:26:31):
Carrie to all of this, since you love college basketball
and like you said, you're you're a true supporter, and
how you said I will boycott it if Miami Ohio
is not in there? Who do you like out of
this tournament so far?

Speaker 3 (01:26:48):
Well, like, obviously you know, I'm a Duke.

Speaker 2 (01:26:51):
Guy, Duke, We've got Duke in your final four.

Speaker 4 (01:26:53):
Duke's in the final four. But they just took a
hit in the game yesterday against North Carolina. They obviously
events there, you know of their loss early in the season.
They went into that game with their starting center Pat
and Gamba. He was hurt so he didn't play. But
in that game, their starting point guard Caleb Foster also
hurt his foot, and we don't know the extent of

(01:27:13):
what the injury is, but if they're missing those two players,
they're not going to win it. No matter how deep
they are, how talented they are, they're not going to
beat those other teams at the top. So excluding hell,
Duke obviously is my front runner. But there are teams out.

Speaker 2 (01:27:28):
There right now worried about you about that house though,
Oh I'm worried Okay, Yeah, I don't think you had
said this the last time that we chatted about this,
which was like whatever a week. Whoever, Now you see
him a little.

Speaker 3 (01:27:38):
It just happened yesterday. That's why you seem worried. Yeah,
I don't the way he did it, the way he
couldn't come back in that game.

Speaker 4 (01:27:46):
And in the presser, John Shire, the coach of Duke,
said he doesn't expect either one of those guys to
be ready for the a SEC tournament. So I know
they're taking precaution there, but we don't know the word yet.
But there are other things out there. I mean, obviously,
right now, Florida's playing the best out of anybody I
think besides Duke at this moment, as far as they're
starting to heat up. They have the best front court

(01:28:08):
in college basketball. And so now their guards have come
back and started to play well, and now they're they're
on a roll. I mean, they could have a chance
to repeat as well.

Speaker 2 (01:28:16):
That's crazy because I feel like that's not that I
wasn't expecting you to mention Florida. I really wasn't. I
thought you, I don't know at the obvious ones, right,
like all of the obvious ones, and I knew you
would mentioned Duke over here.

Speaker 6 (01:28:28):
Anyone that you have that's like, this team might surprise you.

Speaker 2 (01:28:31):
Not that you think they're gonna, you know, get super far,
but they may surprise you in how far they get.

Speaker 3 (01:28:38):
Hum there is not to put you on the spot.
Ye there's a team that so you we mean far
like final four, good or legit.

Speaker 2 (01:28:45):
I just feel like, what is a team that can't
surprise you?

Speaker 4 (01:28:49):
I got to okay, Wisconsin is one that's kind of
Badgers run off the cast, kind off the cause they
when they're hot, they can beat anybody. They score a
lot of points. I think yesterday scored one hundred, you
know what I mean. They score a lot for college
so they can outscore a lot of teams. They don't
defend well, but if they get hot, they can win.
And I also think, and this one it may may

(01:29:14):
be a little bit of off Cuffs, but I think
Arkansas can make a deep run. They got the best,
They got the best freshman in college basketball. I think,
and I think I told you this. I mean, obviously
Cam Boozer is my guy, but Darius A. Cuff I've
said the name before a lot of people like Kingston
Flemens from Houston, people like Darren Peterson obviously a J. Debonton.
There's a lot of names, but he gets kind of lost.

(01:29:37):
And I saw them play Duke earlier, and they are
really talented. They're big and athletic. If they can get
on the run Arizona and Darius Acuff Junior, they can
make it run.

Speaker 2 (01:29:48):
What would if Arkansas the Razorbacks if they do get
what do you think that does for John Cali Perry.

Speaker 4 (01:29:55):
I think for him, he's been I think he's labeled
more as a as a recruiter, but that doesn't really
make sense.

Speaker 3 (01:30:02):
He was just talked about he had.

Speaker 2 (01:30:03):
Reaching nine hundred wins this past week.

Speaker 4 (01:30:05):
You know, Yeah, I think a lot of people think
he's failed at winning the big one, or.

Speaker 2 (01:30:12):
Not winning the big moments the games.

Speaker 3 (01:30:14):
Right, yeah, like enough, right, Like.

Speaker 4 (01:30:16):
He had the moment in UMass obviously with you know
those teams and Marcus can Be and those guys, but
then all those great Kentucky teams, the only won one
with Anthony Davis and old guys, and so he needs
I think he needs to get a deep run as well,
just to kind of validate him in the big games
like you talked about.

Speaker 2 (01:30:33):
H Yeah, again, I have vacation in college sports, and
I feel like with John Keller Perry, it's always like,
well like whenever he comes up, it's like, Wow, he
didn't he Can he do it?

Speaker 15 (01:30:44):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:30:44):
Can he do it when it matters? Because, like you said,
one in Kentucky and then he leaves in and it
was like the whole thing, and now he's in Arkansas,
and I do I mean nine hundred wins, That's.

Speaker 3 (01:30:54):
That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (01:30:55):
That's that has to matter. And if you're right that
they're a sneaky team that can make do some damage
that maybe people aren't looking at. I do think it
would help his.

Speaker 4 (01:31:05):
It will, yeah, because it's I think they are people
know that they're talented, but I think they have a
chance to if they get hot and you know the ball,
you know, the ball goes, bounces the right way, they
have a chance to make it, make a deep, deep
beat and run.

Speaker 2 (01:31:19):
Getting so close to it. Can't wait to fill out
the bracket. Don't leave Miami Ohio out because Carrie's gonna
boycott it and then he's not gonna do a bracket
and we need him to do a bracket as we
all do. Shout out to Tom who did tweet at
us and said, it's great listening to both of you.
That team as well is excellent and you're awesome. He's
had other things in there. I'm just keeping it, keeping

(01:31:42):
it quick, paraphrasing it, Tom, Thank you so much. Charlie
D did tone out put just tuned in? Monsy on
tuning out My girl, I was on the tweet. You
didn't have to tune in. You saw my name, You
didn't have to tune in if you saw my name
was Charlie D. I think it's a lady International Women's Day, Charlie.
But you commented on the tweet with my name saying

(01:32:04):
that I was on the show, So why'd you tune in?
You didn't have to tune in. I'm sorry. Just don't
even do that and learn how to read and then
you don't have to go tune in if you don't
want to listen. But thank you for feeling the need
to come and tweet about it. Thank you so much.
On the other side of this, Carrie, we're gonna dive
into a conversation in the NBA that, like I find
so fascinating because I find it so gray. I feel

(01:32:28):
like there's certain topics to me that's like very black
and white. I think Fernando Mendoza should start for the Raiders.
That's what I think. This situation in the NBA with
the Atlanta Hawks and the game that they are gonna
have with the Orlando Magic on a Magic Monday, Magic Monday,
I find it so gray and so fascinating, and we're

(01:32:49):
gonna dive into it, so don't go anywhere. He is
carry the All Pro Safety. I am Monty Bilanjos, And
this is Fox Sports Radio listening to Fox Sports. What's
up every buddy, Happy Sunday. Thanks for tuning into Fox
Sports Radio. I am Monti Bilanos. He is the All
Pro Safety, carry roads hanging out with us. It's flown by.

(01:33:12):
We're coming down to the end of it. It's flown
by flown By. But there has been a conversation this week,
Carrie that I have just I've been talking to everyone
about it. People my friends who don't even know about sports,
like who don't care about sports. I'm talking to my
friend's husbands about this, Like I just find this so
fascinating because I find it very great. The Atlanta Hawks

(01:33:33):
on Monday, March sixteen, will be hosting the Orlando Magic
and they will be having a Magic City Monday night.
You know, it's it's there. They're they're bringing something to
the NBA that we have not seen.

Speaker 3 (01:33:50):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:33:50):
Uh. The Magic City in Atlanta is a staple, right
like that, It's like you go to you go there,
if you're there, it's what iron just standing. It's a staple.
It's a place to be. H It is a gentleman's club,
is what it is.

Speaker 6 (01:34:06):
Even though people go for the wings like apparently we've.

Speaker 2 (01:34:10):
Heard about NBA players are they're just for the wings.
Eleven pepper wings are supposed to be really hotly he
has his own flavor.

Speaker 6 (01:34:17):
I think they're going to be part of Monday's game.

Speaker 2 (01:34:20):
There is merchandise for the collaboration about it, and obviously
it's caused a bit of a discussion. Lou Cornette of
the Spurs earlier in the week made a statement basically
going against it, and one of the things he said,
I won't read you the whole thing, because he does
he says a lot, but one of the things that
he said, the NBA should desire to protect and esteem

(01:34:41):
women many of whom work digilant, digilantly, diligently to diligently
every day to make this the best basketball league in
the world. We should promote an atmosphere that is protective
and respectful of the daughter's, wife's, sisters, mothers and partners
that we know and love. He said, more to it.
Luke Cornette said that, And to me, you get maud
at that. I don't think he said anything wrong. No,

(01:35:03):
thank you, Luke. I appreciate you trying to, you know,
protect the ladies. Thank you so much. Appreciate it. And
some El Horford came out and agreed with Luke. With
Luke Cornett, other people are like, you're not you don't
get it. It's Atlanta. It's like a thing. And here's
where the beginning of the grade comes in, because I
do agree that, like, no, the Minnesota Timberwolves can't have

(01:35:24):
this game. James Harden and the Cleveland Cavaliers, you can't.
You can't do this game. I don't know he's one
hundred percent going to be there, one thousand percent. Let's
hope Cleveland. It doesn't have a game on that Monday.
But it fits in Atlanta. Yes, it fits to me,
in Atlanta, and as a as a woman, I am
not I am not offended by any of this. I'm

(01:35:46):
not upset about it, like by all means go. In fact,
I would go. If I was in town, I would
go go to this game. It would not make me
not want to go.

Speaker 3 (01:35:54):
Yeah, of course not, because that's not who you are.

Speaker 4 (01:35:57):
And I think we're all individuals and we all all
do different things to provide for ourselves.

Speaker 3 (01:36:02):
Right.

Speaker 4 (01:36:03):
But the thing about this whole conversation for me is
the NBA is trying not to alienate anybody.

Speaker 2 (01:36:10):
It's a good way to put it.

Speaker 3 (01:36:11):
So this is may not be in quote.

Speaker 4 (01:36:15):
Unquote esteemed established establishment to the masses, but this is
a big business in the in that city.

Speaker 3 (01:36:23):
And so that's the thing.

Speaker 4 (01:36:24):
So like you have to remove yourself from what that
establishment is and think about all the other establishments that
may be team teamed up with a big a big
brand for their business. This is what this is.

Speaker 3 (01:36:38):
This is nothing bigger than that.

Speaker 4 (01:36:40):
The women are not going to be running around in
the in their birthday suits home at the game or putting.

Speaker 3 (01:36:45):
Anybody none of.

Speaker 2 (01:36:48):
There's not going to be any of that.

Speaker 8 (01:36:49):
This is a.

Speaker 3 (01:36:50):
Business where this is an opportunity.

Speaker 4 (01:36:54):
All some of these women who are at these at
these establishments, dancing to make a living also doesn't make
them bad women as well, So like, remove the I
guess the stigma of it and understand the business part
of it, and that's all this is.

Speaker 3 (01:37:09):
And so I don't have a problem with it at all.

Speaker 2 (01:37:13):
In fact, I like that you said that. I did
read a response from one of the women who works
at this Magic City responded to Luke Cornette and was like,
it's really not what you think it is, right, like
the image that you see in movies and TV shows
of what this place might be. We're not that you
should come it was.

Speaker 5 (01:37:29):
I thought.

Speaker 2 (01:37:29):
Her response was like great, yea, I have absolutely no
problem with it because also in sports there's already a
fine line of like women dancing in very skimpy outfits. Yes,
Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders they look great, Lager girls, they look great.
At the Super Bowl, I had women dancing at halftime

(01:37:50):
to Bad Bunny. Did anybody have a problem with that?
I don't think so, so I find it very great.
Now here's the thing. Do you open that door? Because
once that's a door that hasn't been opened, right, in
the NBA, and people want to compare this to gambling. No,
stop like it's two separate things, right, because again, women
and sports have go hand in hand.

Speaker 3 (01:38:11):
This is partnership.

Speaker 2 (01:38:12):
It's partnership. It's been in for years. Again for years.
This is not new and so it is to me though,
a question of like, once this door is opened, yeah,
what does that do for not just the NBA, but
for other other teams? Are they going to push the
boundary or push a door that has never been opened?

(01:38:33):
And that's the only that's that's again, so great, so
great again, I don't care. I'd be there, But does
the NBA want to get in there and be like,
we don't want to open the store.

Speaker 3 (01:38:43):
You got to have discernment.

Speaker 2 (01:38:45):
What does that mean? SATs What does that mean?

Speaker 4 (01:38:49):
You gotta have discernment, right, you gotta, I'll tell you.
Diment is having the ability to understand right from wrong.
That's it, okay, Bury simple right, love that you gotta
have discernment. Yeah, all all these things aren't created equal.
That doesn't mean it's magic city whatever, Like this is
one of the biggest establishments in the in the US,
and that that's and sounds weird.

Speaker 2 (01:39:11):
But it is it is correct. This is staple.

Speaker 3 (01:39:13):
This is big business.

Speaker 4 (01:39:15):
This isn't allowing anybody to be a sponsor or having
a sponsored night. This is something that's a staple in
that city. And so there are different staples in each city.
We don't know all these, but we know Magic City,
don't we.

Speaker 2 (01:39:27):
We know Magic City. Everyone knows about it.

Speaker 3 (01:39:29):
That's a difference. Correct.

Speaker 2 (01:39:30):
It's like I don't know anything about Atlanta except Chick
fil A and Magic City.

Speaker 3 (01:39:33):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (01:39:33):
You know what I'm saying. That's all I know. And
we do have another female here, Mary mac on the
Ones and Twos. Mary, what do you make of all
of this?

Speaker 5 (01:39:42):
It's I don't know. It's just slippery slope.

Speaker 4 (01:39:46):
Is it?

Speaker 2 (01:39:46):
Like you find it as a slippery slope, like like
opening this door? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:39:50):
Why why Mary? Tell me?

Speaker 2 (01:39:51):
I don't know.

Speaker 16 (01:39:52):
I just feel like, okay, yes, you're can be like Sana.
I think for me, I also have like a music
standpoint of it, of like once you start opening the
door to that, like I don't know, I feel like
it can get it get easily degraded, and it get
easily ignorant. It could easily open the door for a
lot of negative things to happen. And I definitely do

(01:40:13):
understand again the point of saying like the Dallas you know,
cheerleaders and the Laker girls and stuff like that.

Speaker 5 (01:40:19):
But it's like there's a.

Speaker 2 (01:40:21):
Boundary calendars with some of these cheerleaders, right, like isn't
there like like you know what I'm saying, it's it's
already there, it's already present.

Speaker 3 (01:40:30):
It's already there.

Speaker 4 (01:40:31):
It's already there, and they're not coming to the game
dressed in their work Attie, you know what I mean.
It's not that it's just the it's the brand. I
think people are just getting infused with the idea of
what they know about it as being but that's not
the game, that's not what's going to take place at
the game, you know what.

Speaker 16 (01:40:51):
True. But it's like I mean again, it's like saying
like that's the brand, that's the brand. So it's like
if that's the brand and that's what it's known for,
then it's like again, it can get to a slipper
slope of like I feel like both sides are very much,
they're both true, Like it's just again depending on the
perspectives you feel me.

Speaker 5 (01:41:08):
So, I don't know I feel like some people can
be like, oh.

Speaker 16 (01:41:11):
Well, what do they think about it on a moral
standpoint for children and for families and dah dah da da.
But then it's like, on the other hand, like okay,
but it's business like business business. For me, I personally
am like, okay, not all not all business is good business,
you know.

Speaker 5 (01:41:25):
So I think that's just.

Speaker 16 (01:41:26):
But that's on my own stand point. So every every
woman is different, every person is different. So I think
it just you again, have discernment on what you feel
is to be true.

Speaker 2 (01:41:36):
And Mary, not to put you on the spot, but
it sounds like if you if we all had to
say yes or no, you would say no to going
to do it, no to doing it to it. Like
let's say you just got you had to vote with
the NBA. Would you allow it, allow it, yes or no?

Speaker 5 (01:41:50):
I'd probably say it sounds that way.

Speaker 2 (01:41:55):
Again, it's so great, as you just said.

Speaker 16 (01:41:58):
Saying, because shay Shaye brought up something and I was like,
I told them, and I said, there's a time and
a place. That's what that's my thing is, there's a
time and a place for certain things. Because me saying
no to the NBA does not mean that. I also
I would love to go to Magic City. I well,
I would love to go just to like really see
what it is. But yeah, again, there's a time and
there's a place for certain things, and I get that.

Speaker 2 (01:42:20):
I just feel like this time in this game is
gonna be that you don't have to go to the game, right,
And like I if you had, if you had a
situation where you're gonna go with your kids and you
don't want to take them, I understand, you know what,
you could probably have those tickets and sell them for
a lot more money and then go to another game
and you'll be fine. I think if I had to
say yes or no, I think I would say just

(01:42:40):
that it happened. Yes, I think that's what I would say.
But it's such a like fifty three to forty seven
percent for me, Like I find it so great, And
listening to Mary, I'm like, you know, Mary's right, this
is a slippery so like I could be convinced.

Speaker 3 (01:42:54):
I think either way, listen to this guy.

Speaker 4 (01:42:57):
So we talked about big bins, were talked about sponsors
and people that are represented at games. There are so
many big companies out there that are partnered with these
NBAS and NFLS and these sports teams that if you
do research on those brands, they are terrible. And this
one right here is obviously it's just the name if
we all know it because of what it is. But

(01:43:19):
they're actually in this workplace making a living the best
that they can. And so I just think the stigma
of it is bigger than what the actual problem is.
Wh think about it.

Speaker 2 (01:43:31):
I think you're right about that, Shay.

Speaker 16 (01:43:32):
You just have to know what Atlanta is so and
also that's a very big important thing, exactly if you
know what Atlanta is rooted in and all of that
and how it then and so.

Speaker 6 (01:43:44):
Knowing that, you're like, they let the Atlanta do it,
you see what I mean?

Speaker 2 (01:43:46):
Like Atlanta do this?

Speaker 5 (01:43:48):
Said Atlanta.

Speaker 16 (01:43:49):
I was like, okay, like Alta could do it again
for me time and a place.

Speaker 2 (01:43:55):
No, I hear, I love it, Shae, Shaye, what what
do you make of all of this? I know I
was like talking to you about it before we started
the show because I just find it's so great. Again,
anyone can sway me like that's high? See this situation.

Speaker 9 (01:44:08):
No, I'd have to agree with you. It's extremely gray.
I mean, like I'm not going to do this in Utah,
but I'll definitely like it's Atlanta. I've been to Magic
City in Atlanta, and I'll tell you right now, it's
not like a strip club that everyone thinks. It's like
you go there, you get a table, you order wings,
Like it's the same thing as going to like one
Oak in La or Hide in La. Honestly, look at
all these places. But I'm just saying, it's just like

(01:44:34):
going to any club at any big city. Like at
this point, it's like in Atlanta that just ends up
being their club. Like I can't tell you one club
in Atlanta, but I could tell you Magic City because
of what it is, And it's getting to a point
where like people would rather go to Magic City because
of how safe it is. I always hear how safe
Magic City is and how great it is there and
all this stuff, and I don't hear the workers there saying, oh,

(01:44:55):
I hate I hate my boss, I hate this, I
hate the people that come in there. So it's like
if they're no. Obviously there is the whole other side
of it and what it is. But again it's a
gray area, like if the NBA is going to allow
it then you can't be upset about it. It's it
just doesn't make sense to me. We could go on
to the end, like is the NBA allowing this? Is
this even something that the NBA monitors and all that,

(01:45:15):
and that leads you to that entire discussion. But the
old NBA knows, Yeah, for sure, But it's not of
course they know. Do you think that the Hawks had
to be like, hey, this is something we're going to do.

Speaker 3 (01:45:25):
Is that okay? Or is it something that they just did?

Speaker 2 (01:45:28):
And I'm sure they did. I'm sure they had approval. Yeah,
some of some approval before doing it. Again, I have
no problem with it, but it is a door do
you want to open that?

Speaker 1 (01:45:39):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:45:40):
I don't know, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:45:41):
But the doors open, the doors open.

Speaker 4 (01:45:45):
Like I said, like these other businesses out here that
are doing way worse, and and they have sponsorships chicks
for like, they they're CEOs, and there are people that
have been in charge of those companies that have been
on record doing things that are just.

Speaker 3 (01:46:00):
Degradable, right, and we eat more chicken, you know what
I mean.

Speaker 16 (01:46:04):
So it's just that, yeah, as this depends on how
much you really care about that's the port causes and
are you willing to fight that's it?

Speaker 7 (01:46:11):
That's it?

Speaker 5 (01:46:11):
Not, then you might have just shut up and let
it have.

Speaker 11 (01:46:13):
That's it.

Speaker 3 (01:46:14):
You gotta give it to the Magic City marketing.

Speaker 2 (01:46:16):
That's great.

Speaker 1 (01:46:17):
I love it.

Speaker 3 (01:46:18):
We are talking about it.

Speaker 2 (01:46:19):
Trust me.

Speaker 3 (01:46:19):
I love SOT Sports Radio. It's crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:46:21):
I love it. And we we have carry on or
on or off. Next, but let's go to the news
desk with Chrispurphfett to give us the roundown and then
Chris just thumbs up or thumbs down on Magic City
Monday in Atlanta against the Orlando Magic.

Speaker 10 (01:46:34):
I'm interested in the wings. No thumbs up. I've I
lived in Savannah five years. We used to take trips
up to Atlanta all the time. I can't say I've
gone to Magic City. But anything to appreciate Atlanta, I'm
all for.

Speaker 12 (01:46:48):
There you go, I am.

Speaker 3 (01:46:50):
I'm a big believer and just let people do their
own thing. I don't really what.

Speaker 10 (01:46:54):
I am interested in right now, and why I feel
like I'm distracted here is because while we've been talking
about that, I've been trying to figure out how you
put four men on each side of a hockey team
in the penalty box because apparently that's something that just
happened between the lightning and sabers nice and we have
this clip here, so let me see if I can
play it.

Speaker 3 (01:47:12):
But for this stuff, I'm sure, I'm not sure we have.

Speaker 11 (01:47:15):
But there are the ones that a referee in the game.

Speaker 2 (01:47:19):
Can you all over here?

Speaker 11 (01:47:21):
I I need you to sit down. I don't starting
to look like Tampa Bay and Florida.

Speaker 1 (01:47:25):
Just like being on the buffs at five o'clock running.

Speaker 10 (01:47:28):
So we Yeah, there's there's a lot of guys in
a tiny little box over there, and I'm trying to
figure this all out. It's I'm not even sure whatever
one's the penalty for, but certainly enough everyone's going to
pile back onto the ice and immediately too many men
on the ice, I am sure. Anyway, let's get away
from the ice into the hard court where it's gone.

Speaker 11 (01:47:48):
Final.

Speaker 10 (01:47:49):
Finally, Nebraska took down Iowa eighty four to seventy five
and agonizing final minute. Also final agonizing minute in not
a close game, as Michigan took down Michigan say ninety
to eighty A and Tom Iso very upset in a
lot of the questions afterwards and saying I'm Nobody's little brother,
because you know that's that rivalry. It's it's as someone

(01:48:11):
from the area in Michigan, Michigan State as the rivalry is.

Speaker 3 (01:48:15):
So somebody with somebody with soning them.

Speaker 10 (01:48:19):
Michigan tries to Sun Michigan State all the time. And
now that Michigan's good at basketball too, that's kind of like,
this isn't fair. Jeremy Fears Junior assessed another technical foul
for hitting someone in the groin. Seems to be happening
quite a bit earlier on the day. For college basketball,
Queen's University Royals punched their first ever NCAA Tournament berth
with an ninety eight ninety three overtime victory in the

(01:48:41):
A Sun Tournament final over Central Arkansas.

Speaker 3 (01:48:44):
Where it's Queen's located, Chris Shining.

Speaker 10 (01:48:47):
North Carolina, Carolina down North anyway, NBA, I've got really
distracted there.

Speaker 3 (01:48:55):
Now, let's go to the NBA side of things where
the Lakers gotcha.

Speaker 11 (01:48:58):
It's defended by Ananobi Freeman. It's into quarter number three.
Loco with one has.

Speaker 10 (01:49:03):
To Lakers Television from Spectrum Sportsnet on the call there,
Luca Dons from thirty five points eight rebounds, Lakers take
down the next one ten to ninety seven. Currently the
middle of the third quarter, the Heat with an eighty

(01:49:24):
two to fifty six lead on the Pistons. Continue the
Pistons woes right here after they had lost to Brooklyn.
They've lost their last three and with a Boston win
earlier today, that East lead is evaporating. Raptors with a
seventy five to fifty nine lead over the Mavericks in
the third quarter. In the World Baseball Classic, Israel has

(01:49:44):
a one nothing lead over Nicaragua. Bottom of the second
rain delay has kept Panama and Canada from taking the field.
And on the women's side of basketball, Ucla claimed the
Big Ten with a crushing ninety six to forty five
route of Iowa. NFL New Cardinals running back James Connor
restructured the final year of his contract remained with Arizona
for the twenty twenty six NFL season tampering period beginning

(01:50:08):
at noon Eastern on Monday, which is really the real
start of free agency these days.

Speaker 3 (01:50:14):
Monsie and Carrie, it's been fun. I'll see you guys
in Magic City.

Speaker 2 (01:50:18):
Thank you so much. Christopherfett, who did are a little
bit of everything today the technical producer and moved over
to the news desk. But let's have some fun with Carrie.
That's all right, carry on or off if you've never
heard this segment. I'm just gonna present some statements to Carrie.
We're gonna see if he agrees or not. As simple

(01:50:38):
as that. All right, Carrie, Yukon's lost to Marquette, shouldn't
change her mind about the Huskies and the big dance.

Speaker 4 (01:50:46):
Oh, I'm off that one. Oh yeah, Khan, we know
their seiling is really really good. They're one of the
considered one of the top four teams going to that weekend.
This same is very inconsistent. I don't I don't really
see them having enough to win win it all, to
go on the major run to win it all.

Speaker 3 (01:51:06):
So I'm off the Yukon bendwagon at the moment.

Speaker 2 (01:51:09):
At the moment, do you think they get to the
final four? I do not. You don't, Okay, you already
got it, Okay, all right, they are a favorite of
many to get far. All right, carry honor off. The
Cowboys should make Brandon Aubrey the highest paid kicker in
the NFL.

Speaker 3 (01:51:24):
Oh, I'm on that one.

Speaker 4 (01:51:26):
Hey, anytime, anytime you can get you can get close
to midfield and you being scoring range.

Speaker 3 (01:51:33):
That's an asset. So Aubrey weapon leat the weapon numbers.

Speaker 4 (01:51:39):
What's his number with Brandon Aubrey's number, whatever his number
lead the weapon bare.

Speaker 2 (01:51:44):
He's a cheat code. Pay the man, Pay the man.
He is a cheat code, all right, carry honor off.
The Pittsburgh Pirates made a mistake by not signing the
great Andrew McCutcheon for one year. You know he's been there,
how long he's signing a one year deal with the
Rangers Pirates, drop the ball.

Speaker 3 (01:52:02):
M I'm on that, on that. I'm an Andrew McCutcheon fan.

Speaker 4 (01:52:08):
I am. I love love watching them in Pittsburgh in
a place where obviously it's hard to win and sustain
excellence for him to be an all star player, one
of their their longtime franchise greats. Yeah, give the man
one one more year and a great send off to
its retirement.

Speaker 2 (01:52:24):
Who else are you spending money on me?

Speaker 3 (01:52:25):
Exactly?

Speaker 2 (01:52:26):
Let him come back. I don't get that. I'm with you,
all right, carry on or off. There is no wrong
way to celebrate in the World Baseball Classic, that Italy
players are celebrating their home runs by taking shots of
espresso in the dugout.

Speaker 4 (01:52:42):
Oh, I'm off that one. I can only take one.
I can only take a double shot at max. So
if you're having a really good game and you're hitting
all these runs and you got nineteen nineteen coffee shots
in you, I was wondering that's you.

Speaker 3 (01:52:55):
I don't think you're gonna do too well.

Speaker 2 (01:52:57):
Ly Yeah, I mean just too jittery at that point.
All right here, Carrie, on or off the first ever
duel Applebee's and I Hoop restaurant debuting in New York.

Speaker 3 (01:53:08):
Oh, I'm off that too, Me too? How do you
mix those two?

Speaker 4 (01:53:12):
What I'm saying nobs already has an endless menu, so
you're gonna add another another part of a menu.

Speaker 3 (01:53:17):
To the mix. I also off it?

Speaker 2 (01:53:19):
What am I smelling? Am I smelling sweet stuff for
breakfast and like pancakes?

Speaker 3 (01:53:22):
Or am I smelling like Hello out Alfredo? Right?

Speaker 2 (01:53:26):
I hate this one, and I'm glad that you are
off it as well. At least we agree to that
one as well. On the other side, as we wrap
up the show, Carrie, this team has the answer right
in front of their faces and they don't want to
accept it. What am I talking about? We're gonna dive
into it next as we wrap up here at Fox

We've got Mary mac on the ones and twos again,
the crew back together. Mary, thank you nice and it's
so good. Chris Burfett already out the door, but this
I was here all day and did the technical producing,
then moved over to the anchor desk. We appreciate you
so much. But as we wrap up the show here, Carrie, listen,

(01:55:11):
when the answers are in front of your face and
you don't act on it, is it that you're stupid
or what you're insane? You're insane, right, and doing the
same The definition is what doing the same thing over
and over and expecting a different results.

Speaker 3 (01:55:27):
That's right?

Speaker 2 (01:55:27):
Okay. The Los Angeles Lakers today without Lebron James, took
on the Knicks at home in LA and La wins
one ten to ninety seven. Oh maybe Jalen Brunson didn't
play No there he is forty two minutes. Oh maybe
Carl Anthony Towns didn't play No there he is thirty
four minutes. Had a nice double double twenty five points

(01:55:49):
and sixteen rebounds to be exact. Oh well maybe no,
you guys. It was a full stacked nixt team and
it was the Lakers without Lebron and Ruya Chimura was
the came in as a starter for him and the
Lakers win it. Luka Doncic thirty five points. Austin Reeves,
who has been quiet ever since Lebron James, Lebron Lebron

(01:56:14):
names comes back to the court. Austin Reeves eight of sixteen,
three of six from the three point line, twenty five points,
four rebounds, and five assists, one turnover. Lukadanji was the
one that let in turnovers with six he usually does
because he does a bond says so much, how do
you keep how do you keep doing this? If you're
the Lakers and you see in front of you that

(01:56:34):
without Lebron James, your team is more successful.

Speaker 10 (01:56:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:56:38):
The problem, the problem with this was when they resigned
them in the off season. I think we all knew
that this was Lucas team moving forward. They the Lakers
made that clear. So if that was the case, they
should have probably moved on this year. This is a
This is the prime example of holding on to something
too long. And you know, obviously it's not it's not
a it's not a hit on Lebron. Lebron's Lebron. He's

(01:57:00):
the grades whatever. That's we know, right, But we're talking
about with this team in particularly the way that it's
set up. We saw early on when he wasn't playing,
Austin Reeves was having an all star year, not just
a good.

Speaker 3 (01:57:11):
Year, absolutely like almost like a superstar year.

Speaker 4 (01:57:13):
Yeah, alongside Luca, this team is better constructed right now
without Lebron.

Speaker 3 (01:57:18):
It's simple.

Speaker 2 (01:57:18):
It's very The offensive one two punch between Luca and
Austin Reeves works at least what we've seen this year,
except when he's not the one two punch and you
have to make room for Lebron James who It's like
my problem with Lebron. I have have so many problems with.

Speaker 1 (01:57:34):
With Lebron.

Speaker 2 (01:57:34):
It's like, Lebron, you actually could be really effective, but
you need to know what you can bring to the table,
and it's maybe what eighteen to twenty two minutes of
good basketball. And he doesn't want to accept that you
should be coming off the bench, you should be saving yourself.
You should not expect to play the same type of
minutes that an Austin Reeves, Luca plays because of your age,

(01:57:56):
but you can be effective, and I just he doesn't
want to accept that. It's like I should take a
limited role and help you guys win.

Speaker 3 (01:58:03):
I'm going to put some of that blame on jj
Reddick though, absolutely.

Speaker 4 (01:58:06):
I like that it's not about Justin Lebron and I
think that's what we do because that's what we've expected
or seen all these years he's been there. It's not
about him anymore. It's about this team and if jj
Reddick is the leader that he's supposed to be. I
love jj Reddick, but he has to make him be
accountable as well.

Speaker 2 (01:58:22):
Yeah, but their buddies remember like that. That's like the
problem that was from the beginning where it's like he
went from doing the podcast to then coaching the Lakers
where everyone's like, well he hands selected you know, JJ
Reddick without any experience, and other people have had that,
you know, get Steve National experience, got a head coaching job,
and sometimes it works as it doesn'ts it doesn't, but

(01:58:42):
it's they're friends, and I feel like that's what's not
working here because JJ Reddick should be the one that says, hey,
this is no longer your team, Yes, but I don't
think he can because they're friends.

Speaker 3 (01:58:54):
And that's the crazy part. That's why his team won't win.

Speaker 4 (01:58:57):
If you can't have accountability from yours don't quote star agent,
star player and the head coach, then how did the
other how did the other guys on the team kind
of fall in line?

Speaker 2 (01:59:07):
Again, things are contagious, and if it's just if things
are not working, it's gonna be contagious that it's not working,
like everyone's gonna feel that, just like Victor wyin Banyawa
is making it contagious to play good basketball the entire time,
even in the regular season. Okay, if you had to
put a percentage, what are what is the percentage that
you think Lebron James is a Laker next year? Zero?

(01:59:30):
You think it's a zero? Yeah, I think he comes
back as a Laker.

Speaker 3 (01:59:35):
You think he comes back?

Speaker 7 (01:59:36):
I do.

Speaker 2 (01:59:37):
I feel like Lebron is going to say to the Lakers, like,
one more year, this is gonna be my farewell tour,
and the the money and the attention that would come
with Lebron James in his final year. I feel like
the Lakers would do that. You know what I'm saying
like I just I think they would even though it's

(01:59:58):
not going to benefit them, it's not good for them.

Speaker 3 (02:00:01):
I think there's a real chance Lebron's going back to Cleveland.
You heard it here first.

Speaker 2 (02:00:04):
There's no way he's gonna rule with Cleveland's doing.

Speaker 3 (02:00:06):
No, it's still gonna be the farewell tour, but he's
gonna do it.

Speaker 2 (02:00:10):
James Harden and Donovan Mitchell and James Harden, who's gonna
have the ball.

Speaker 3 (02:00:14):
He's gonna be on the bench. It's a fairwheld tour.

Speaker 16 (02:00:17):
He's gonna have that.

Speaker 2 (02:00:18):
There's no way I can't with that carry rhads All
Pro safety. I am Monte Bolanos, don't go anywhere. There's
more here at Fox Sports Radio.
