you know, the individual awards that he got and whatnot.
Dude was fantastic, like fantastic really the almost one of
the first of his kind to be able to do
it out of the backfield as a pass catcher and

then between the tackles as well too. He was awesome.
So all these guys are deserving. You've got Larry Fitzgerald
getting in, Drew Brees is gonna get in. He's gonna
be the grand finale of this whole thing. Luke Keikley
got in, like all with Adam Bittari, like, all of

these guys all deserve to get in there. You can't
argue with any of the guys that got into the
Hall of Fame this year. I mean you could probably
argue if you wanted to, for some guys maybe in
the past, Right, does this guy deserve to be first ballot?
Like whatever? Like listen, like have that discussion. All you want,

you know, complain about the fact that Eli Manning hasn't
gotten in, Like DD, what you gotta do. That's fine,
have at it, enjoy yourselves. Here's one thing that I
got a problem with with the Hall of Fame. Could
somebody get a fan on stage. And I'm not talking

about somebody to root on these guys. I'm talking about
somebody to cool these guys off. Every single year, we
got to watch the NFL's great the players that have
laid the foundation for the league, the guys that we've
grown up watching, the legends of the game that we've
been lucky enough to watch and see grow and play

and win championships at awards and go and retire, And
then what do they turn into at the end of
this whole thing. They get on stage and everybody's sweating
their ass off. There's not a like nobody can go
to a home depot nearby. You can't get like an
industrial fan to shoot up at these guys. So they're

not profusely sweating. Well, maybe they're nervous. No, it's hot
as balls, it's cannon Ohio, and it's August. Remember the
Hall of Fame game a few years ago, the field melted.
Has nobody figured this? What is it? Gonna drown out
the noise, get better speakers. This supposed to be one

of the great events, and we're nickel and diming it
up here. What do you got like one of those
like old school three speed circular fans that like go
in rotation. Hey, it's oscillating. No it's not. It's blown
hot air around, that's what it's doing. What is so
difficult about this? Go to home depot, buy some industrial

sized fans, put them on the stage that's to the monitors,
or get something going on the top. It can't be
that hard. They showed Roger Craig a second ago. It's like,
my god, he's already crying. No he's not, he's leaking.

What are we doing here. It's the middle of August.
You're making them wear a thick sports coat, go stand
on stage. Yes, all adulge. There are some nerves. I
get it, But these guys are drowning in their own sweat.

They're dehydrated after they leave the stage because nobody's thought through,
Hey maybe we ought to cool these guys off, you know,
maybe we should do something about this. You got them
up there making speeches there to be celebrated, and it's
the easiest fix in the world. It should be the
most obvious thing you do, and you just don't do it.

We got everything else figured out, just not that. It's
like throwing a party and forgetting booze. Everybody gets over
to the house and everybody's looking around like, all right,
let's get something to drink, and they look in the
in the fridge and there's a Capri Sun, two Ecto coolers,

and a bottle of water. Nobody got booze. Nobody went
out and grabbed any sinsuckers on the way back from
the store, and nobody thought that through easiest thing in
the world, and they fail every year. Pisses me off

time every year, and some of those conversations in the
NFL I understand and make a little bit more sense.
And then there's other ones, like the ones that are
happening this year that I don't understand and don't make
any sense whatsoever, because it's really really obvious what is happening.

Quarterback competitions. Okay, quarterback competitions, right, so you could go
through the league right now and you could find different
scenarios where there's a quote unquote quarterback competition going on. Okay, right,
you could run around the league and you could make

a stop in Las Vegas if you want, you know,
you could make a stop there. You could mosey on
over to you know, Atlanta if need be, go to
Atlanta and take a look at that. You could go
north and go to Cleveland and take a look at
that and talk about these quarterback competitions that are taking place.

You could even work in the Arizona Cardinals if you
wanted to, based on Carson Beck's performance, and you just
kind of there's like all these quarterback competitions that are
going on. And what's funny about it is the daily updates,
like in Minnesota. Did you see the one in Minnesota
where it said, hey, man, JJ McCarthy just had his

best day of practice yet at training camp. Oh, it's awesome,
that's awesome. Cool. What about last year? But do you
have any update on last year? Oh no, never mind,
we already got our update. It was called bringing in
Kyler Murray. That was our update. Let me just help

everybody out here, because this really isn't that difficult? All right,
let me just go ahead and we'll go step by step.
All right. We'll start in Minnesota. Kyler Murray is going
to be named the starter. Okay. We'll go to Cleveland.
Deshaun Watson will be named the starter. All right, I
think the pretty we're dumb. We're good with that, Okay. Cool.
We're going to go to Arizona. Jacoby Brissett's going to

be the starter. Right, We good here, everybody good on that.
And we'll go to Atlanta to Atagoilo is going to
be the starter. All right. I just want to make
sure that we're all clear here, because the reasons that
those things are all true and all factual is because
a the money that's involved number one, and b the

move that was made number two. Kyler Murray was brought
in because JJ McCarthy struggled last year and didn't play
the year before because of health issues. It's not gone well.
Kyler Murray was brought in on the cheap because of that,

(09:21):
and so you could say, well, I mean, you know,
technically they're only paying him one point something yeah, for
this year, and then when he plays well, he gets
a long term deal that quarterback competition isn't a competition,
It's a coronation. Kyler Murray will be named the starter.

(09:42):
Same thing in Atlanta, hey Man Pennix to a tuck
of I loa, No, it's going to be to a
tugo ila And do you want to know why? Same
thing that happened with JJ McCarthy, Michael Pennix junior. There
were times that he struggled and also couldn't stay healthy,
still trying to recover, still trying to get back, like

Kirk Cousins for Ananimate, like all of these conversations, Deshaun
Watson should or Sanders I know that it should or
Sanders I get it, I understand it should, or he
moves the needle. The problem is, Deshaun Watson's getting paid
a lot of money, and if you're the Cleveland Browns,

you'd like to get something for your return. No, you'd
like to at least be able to say, hey, you
know what, I know. We signed to a five year,
two hundred and thirty million dollar, fully guaranteed deal. We
know all that, and then we know that he's been injured.
We get all that, and we know that he struggled
at times when he did play. We understand all that,

and we know that, you know, he got suspended for
like eleven games because you know, he decided he had
to go to a you know, the grab lab and
have that whole fiasco and that whole issue go on,
and we get all that. He's got all his flaws.
He's also got a lot of money coming his way.
So wouldn't it make more sense. Wouldn't this just make

more sense for everybody involved if you started to Sean
Watson and then if you really had to go to
Shador Sanders, Like, hey, Carson Beck might be the starter maybe,
or you could start with Jacoby Brissett and then give
it to Carson Beck at some point during the year.

(11:34):
Wouldn't that make more sense based on the contract? Wouldn't
it Like if something drastic happens in Arizona and Carson
Beck just completely out, then that one makes a little
bit more sense based on the financials. But Cleveland it
does not, Minnesota, it does not Atlanta. Not really Like

there's all these like conversations that are happening. Taking a
look around at the quarterback competitions, dude, most of these
aren't really quarterback competitions, But Yeah, they're kind of going
through the Uh, they're going through it and making it
seem like, hey, you know, this was all everybody knows.

It's not that difficult to figure out, but for some
reason we make stories of it. It's not that hard.
All of those are gonna go the way that I
laid it out. Deshaun Watson's going to be named the starter,
Tua is going to be named the starter, Kyler Murray's
going to be named the starter, so on and so forth.
It's not that difficult. It's not that hard. At this point,

we're just grabbing for storylines because you're not really sure
who's going to be playing in the preseason and what's
going so you're just looking for conversations to be had.
I get it. I you know what happens every year.
This year feels like it's a pretty much slam dunk
all the way through. We kind of know who's gonna

acquiring Trek Schoogle from the Detroit Tigers, and you know,
Trek Scooble love Detroit, was very emotional and leaving Detroit
and so much so that he would be open to
the eye idea of going back to Detroit, and said
so on the latest edition of Pardon My Take.

I would love to play my whole career in Detroit,
you know, I would love to And hopefully those negotiations
can pick back up in in November, you know, once
the playoffs are done, and we'll see where that goes.
You know, hopefully they're involved with everything. You know, I
would love to return. I got nothing but good things
to say about the city of Detroit, and you know,
the manager, the coaching, the staff, the trainers, the teammates, like, yeah,

it's it's tough, you know, and I'm going to try
not to cry right now, but yeah, I mean I
love all those guys. So hopefully they're involved in November,
and you know, we'll see what happens.

just got to a new place. They traded you away,
and you're already talking about going back. Not great fair,
I get it, probably poor timing, probably not a great look.
But I would also like to urge people to go
back and look at Freddie Freeman's press conference when the

Braves came to town, or when he went back to
Atlanta to play the Braves the first time, a sobbing, crying,
emotional mess. And since then, I don't know, things have
gone pretty well for Freddie Freeman in Los Angeles, you know,
like things have gone okay. So this whole idea that,

hey man, this is a bad look, and I get it.
It's awkward. It creates a potentially awkward conversation to be had,
Hey are you with us? Do you want to be
back with them? So on, But dude, none of that
is going to impact whether or not Trek Schoubel performs
well as a member of the Dodgers down the stretch,

or whether or not he's going to actually legitimately sign
back in Detroit, the same place who had all these
opportunities to sign him over the past couple of years
and did not. He got traded because they didn't want
to give him the deal. He got dealt because they

(18:06):
didn't want to give him the contract. There was an
arbitration mess that was had between the two. So yeah,
I'm sure he misses those guys. I'm sure he misses
the locker room and the clubhouse and all that. I'm
sure he misses all those guys, But it doesn't change
the fact that the organization didn't want to pay him.

And if you believe other reports that were out there,
if he did get to free agency, his number one
destination and choice would have been the Dodgers. So this
whole notion that, oh my god, this is a bad
look for let me tell you what's happening here. The
Dodgers are the villain of Major League Baseball, right And
it happens all the time, all the time. We've talked

about it before. It's this weird thing that happens when
it comes to sports fan where you're allowed to be good.
You're allowed to be really good. You're just not allowed
to be so good that it makes us feel like crap.
You're not You're only allowed to be good to a

certain point and after that, screw you. You Remember when
the Patriots Adam Minitari just got inducted into the Hall
of Fame. Remember that Super Bowl the Patriots won when
Adam Minitari kicked the game winner, the first one against
the Rams. When the Patriots came out before that game,
nobody'd ever seen a team come out altogether. It had

always been individuals announced one at a time, and the
Patriots came out as a team and it was like, man,
this is awesome, this is awesome, and they were the
darling of the NFL. Three four years later, everybody hated them.
You're allowed to be good, you just not allowed to

be that good because it makes us feel insignificant. That's
how this works. The Dodgers have not just great players,
really good people that are part of the organization, and
if you're not one of those people, you're gone. Trevor

Bauer and all the stuff that happened off the field,
which you know, upon further review, guy got kind of
screwed over for being honest here. You know, we get
kind of screwed over. But even before all of that
stuff happening that would happen, Trevor Bauer showed up to
spring training and had his own camera crew with him,
and the Dodgers are looking around, going what is this?

What are we doing here? Like I don't but why
they couldn't wait to get rid of him. They couldn't
wait for that guy to be gone on because it
just didn't fit. You go and talk to anybody who
covers the team, anybody who spent enough time around. The

team really legitimately great human beings, all of them, the
stuff they do in the community, the way they treat
the media, like all of them. But their problem is
they're too good. And the way we do things here
as sports fans is you're allowed to be good to

a certain point and then after that f you. That's
how this works. It's the weirdest thing in the world.
That's just how this is. So Trek Scouble coming out
and saying I'd like to go back to Detroit. People
are gonna pile on this because they're the villain. You

just acquired him. You're in the middle midst of a
seven game losing streak. I got news for you. I'm
pretty sure they suffered a seven game losing streak last year.
I don't know if anybody saw the World Series they
won that thing. They suffered a losing streak back in
twenty seventeen or twenty eighteen, still went to the World Series.

(22:13):
They didn't do anything wrong. They've done nothing wrong. There's
been nothing illegal. They're not cooking the books like there's
nothing wrong. They're deferring money, they're paying it later on
like whatever. But people don't like that. Well, they're ruining baseball. No,
they just make you feel like crap because either your
team isn't doing enough or you just feel like that. Anyways,

that's how this works. So look Trek Scooble saying these
things in the moment. It's still pretty fresh, it's still
pretty raw, it's still pretty emotional, just like it was
for Freddie Freeman. And the next thing you know, Freddie
Freeman's walking off a home run in Game one of

if I lived in the olden days where you had to, like,

you know, walk thirty paces and turn around and get
into a gunfight, Like if I was on the set
of Tombstone, I would have been Johnny Ringo, Like I
wouldn't have gotten the gun out. Wow. Drew Brees walked by,
and by the time I was able to get my
phone out of my pocket to take a video to
send to you, he was already gone, like a smell.
Smells like some yeah, And it would have been me
back then, because I'm too slow on the draw with

my phone. So when did this fandom for Drew Brees
and the Saints start? Are there New Orleans ties? Is
there a New Orleans connection? How did this start with you?

I was twelve years old and Reggie Bush got drafted
to the Saints, and my family they're all usc fans,
and so I was a Dolphins fan at the time
because I was a little girl and I love Dolphins.

Right of course, obviously, Ricky Williams that whole you know,
that was a great time.

But I Reggie Bush got drafted to the Saints, and
I kind of felt like, I feel like I need
my own like football team that actually like makes.

Sense for me.

And I was a huge Reggie Bush fan, so that's
how that happened. And then Drew Brees was already there,
and then I just like fell in love. And I've
just been a hardcore, die hard psycho Saints fan since.
So I was thirteen twelve, I was twelve years old.

I was at that NFC title game Bears Saints two
thousand and seven, so it was it was the two
thousand and six season, but it was Reggie Bush's rookie
year into two thousand and seven, and that was the
one where Reggie Bush scored a touchdown and then started
dancing and it pissed the Bears off at Soldier Field.
Bears fans were pissed. So I was there, and I'll

just say this, Bears fans, that was not the classiest
moment of their of their of their life. Like there
was a fan that was holding up a sign that said,
today the Bears finished what Katrina started. Oh I remember that.
It was like, what are we doing? Here it was,
and the Saints fans were partying in town and they
were super cool. But I so the reason I asked

you the Saints fandom. I can remember being working in
the South when the Saints won the Super Bowl and
everybody was shocked, and I think, I don't think people
wreck totally understand or realize how much that meant to
that city, like it is, and they'll tell you, like, man,
it was you know, post Katrina all that, but like

people calling in, like we were in South Carolina. We
weren't anywhere close, but there were people that were listening
to the show that we're calling in on the radio
show I was doing that, We're crying talking about what
the Saints meant to the city. Yeah, like it was.
It was like a really big deal. But I just
remember that Super Bowl team. All right, this this ot
to show you how low budget our radio station was.

(30:31):
I so it's kind of you had to do a
little bit of everything you had to. So it was hosting, producing,
running the board, answering the phones, doing updates. You had
to do it, like doing commercials. You had to do everything.
And so I remember my boss telling me said, hey,
you know, we need some sound for each update previewing
the Super Bowl. Well, we didn't have an editing department, Like,

(30:52):
we had nothing that was you and there. So what
I did is I found a generic Reggie Bush SoundBite
from like week two, can play that, and I used
that in my Super Bowl preview update. Wow, and I
just said, here was Reggie Bush talking about the upcoming matchup. Yeah,
We're just gonna go out there and play hard. We're
gonna treat it like it's every other, the same game

(31:12):
every week, and uh, the best team. And it worked.
Nobody knew, nobody knew. So congratulations to Drew Brees and uh,
and now we know a little bit more about Brie
and how she became a fan of the Saints. So
do you remember where you were when they won the
Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (31:28):
I was crying in my living room, hysterically, hysterically crying.

Speaker 6 (31:32):
I never cried so hard over like a win like that.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
It was huge. I think I had money on the Saints,
I would hope so positive.

The plot thickens as with Rams and former defensive tackle
Aaron Donald as he worked out for the Rams on
Wednesday after he was seen at RAMS practice wearing a
RAMS helmet.

Do you care? No, I'm done. I'm going out. Listen
and not to be disrespectful, it's just this thing is
dragged on too long. The constant updates are unnecessary. I
don't need to see that he worked out with a
helmet on. I don't need to see that it was
showed up on a transaction wired to the league. I
don't need to see Sean McVeigh try and give a
funny little smirk when asked about the question it's over,

(34:15):
We've done. This is where I'll give Rich Paul a
little bit of credit when he was sort of stringing
everybody along for Lebron James's two hundredth season coming up,
at least he did like a whiteboard breakdown and other
things to kind of throw some stuff in there, throw
a little flair. This is just a bland, drawn out
rolling out of the fact that Aaron Donald's going to return.

(34:38):
It's happening. I don't think anybody would be surprised at
this point that Aaron Donald returns. I think they'd be
more surprised that he doesn't return. It's just gone on
too long.

Speaker 7 (34:47):
I'm good next, jonas per You, Athletic Director. At Athletic
director Tommy McClelland took a shot at Indiana in his
introductory press conference, saying, we are here to win championships.
If you do not want to win championships, go to Indiana.

Speaker 2 (35:05):
Do you care? Yeah? And I can't love this reason.
Not everybody can give a great speech. Some people get
nervous and they go on stage. I get it. I
get it, like you're walking into the Hall of Fame.
There's some speeches that are that are maybe better than
other or some guys seem a little bit more nervous
than others and I and that happens everywhere, like public

(35:26):
speaking is hard for some people. And it's not you know,
it's not the Poke Funter. This guy's awful, awful. And
it's not even just the fact that you took a
shot at Indiana and said, if you want to win championships,
or if you don't want to win championships, you know,
go to Indiana. It's like him, man, I don't know
if you were around a few months ago, but they
won the national championship. I don't know if you've seen

(35:47):
the football team play, but they were under But so
that's one thing. And then he goes on Pat McAfee
show and he says, yeah, listen, you know my one liners.
It's like, oh, well, at least he acknowledged that he
kind of with there that you know, oh yeah, kind
of a mistake. But then you're watching him as he's
giving his speech to Pat McAfee and you can see
that he's clearly reading off a piece of paper that's

(36:10):
in front of him, like just people would respect it
more if you make some mistakes. You make some mistakes,
but at least like make it seem authentic, make it
seem natural. It looked just looked awkward. It looked it
looked like he was really really sweating out the idea.
I get it. Public speaking is hard, totally understood, but dude,

(36:33):
just have him put a prompter underneath the phone, Like
there's little apps you can get that do prompters for you.
It looked he looked totally ill prepared for the moment,
and it came off worse than his introductory press conference.

Speaker 7 (36:44):
Next jonas one of the marquee free agent wide receivers,
Stefan Diggs signs a one year deal worth up to
twelve million dollars with the Commanders to team up with
Jayden Daniels and Terry McLaurin.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
Do you care, uh not? Really look more, the story
about the Ayuk departure is more what I'm looking at,
going all right, there's there's a tale to be told there,
like clearly, but Stefan Diggs at this point in his
career like like who knows, man, I mean he's bouncing
around from one team to the next. Like last offseason

(37:18):
was so much more fun with Stefan Diggs. And I'm
not promoting this. I'm not telling people to go out
and do this, but if you are on a boat
like it did him using two c on the boat
did add a little bit more to the story. I'm
just saying, man, I'm just saying, like, at least it
added a little bit of flare to the story. But
unfortunately that's about it for me.

Next all right, Jonas, the NFL is officially back. We
had the Hall of Fame game this past Thursday. Now
that it's back, do you care about the NFL preseason?

Yeah?

I love it. I love it. I love the NFL
plus season. I love I can't get enough of it.
I like the fact that they roll out football fields
without you know, that are like half painted. It's almost like, yeah,
whatever this will do?

Like I remember, I bought like this this uh thing
of chalk for my son. He wanted to play basketball outside,
so we like I drew some lines for him to
put like a real authentic basketball court, and I really
went all out. And then like the third day in
a row, I just half asked it, Like I don't
even know if it Like there was no real three
point arc. There was just a line that said the

number three on it. Or you know he's half Mexicans,
I put trace. But like, the whole point is, it's
just it's such a the way they roll it out
is so halfway done, and yet you've got guys out
there competing in their final games of their careers. I
think it's awesome. It's and you can bet on it.
Imagine that, Like you can bet on these things, all right.

(38:45):
So if you're out there looking around for something to
do and it's too hot out and you don't want
to go in the swimming pool because it's already been
contaminated because somebody yet didn't get to the bathroom in
time and all that, And that's a true story based
on where I live. But like, if you like, if
you're looking to like, you know, really have some fun
and add a little hot sauce on some games, it
don't matter. The preseason is yours and I love it. Next,

whatever's going on there, But congratulations, everybody's in. Most of
them were pretty obvious selections, right, pretty obvious. Roger Craig

(41:46):
had to wait a little longer. And I believe Roger
Craig during his speech actually said that he's been diagnosed
with dementia, which you know, pretty sad to hear somebody
discuss that. So you know that's going to come with
a lot of conversations about the health and safety of
football and whatnot. And it's a terrible disease and it's

(42:06):
it's awful anybody that's ever been around anybody who's dealt
with that, like, you know, what a struggle and how
heartbreaking it is. So our thoughts are with Roger Craig.
He deserved to get in. He probably deserved to get
in a long time ago. Larry Fitzgerald, Luke Keighley, Drew
Brees like all of those guys so deserving of the
opportunity and the honor to get in and to be

(42:29):
Hall of Famers. And you look at the NFL, you
look at all of the guys that are going to
be shoe ins, you know, coming up in five years
from now or next year or whatnot, and there's just
really really obvious players that are going to be in
the Hall of Fame throughout the course of this And
it feels like a pretty slam dunk opportunity to celebrate

(42:51):
these guys and celebrate everybody, you know, Vinit Terry who
had a great run and a great speech, and Fitzgerald
and Keighley and awesome everything. I think, super super celebratory
mood and very very apparent early on who is going
to get in who is not, especially as the years
come up, so we congratulate all those guys. There's also

(43:13):
other things that are pretty obvious as well too. And
I said this earlier, these quarterback competitions, that you're being
force fed these storylines, it's pretty obvious how in my mind,
how these things are going to turn out. Kyler Murray
is going to be the starter despite JJ McCarthy having
a really good practice. Reportedly, Kyler Murray's going to be
the starter. Deshaun Watson's going to be the starter in Cleveland,

(43:34):
despite everybody trying to push the Shador stuff out there
like that's based on the contract, that's how that's going
to go. I think Tua is going to be the starter.
With the Atlanta Falcons. We know Kirk Cousins is going
to be the starter. I don't think he should be
the starter. I think if you're going to go, give
it to Franana Mendoz and just let him have the
whole year. But that's how they're going to work things,

(43:54):
and that's how they're going to have it, and all
of that is fine. It just it feels like a
lot of these things are pretty obvious and maybe not
as much of a competition as they want to make
it out to be. And there's also, much like the
guys who got into the Hall of Fame, obvious selections,
much like the quarterback competitions, obvious selections. The fact that

(44:17):
the Washington Commanders didn't make a move to bring in
Brandon Ayuk kind of an obvious conclusion, wouldn't you say.
Adam Schefter was speaking recently and said, hey, listen, there
was a lot of people that thought Washington was going
to be the place for Brandon Ayuk. It was a
place that made a lot of sense and they were

(44:38):
really really interested. Yeah, so what went wrong?

Man?

You know the social media stuff? But you don't say,
no kidding gosh, you know, I would have thought all
that stuff on social media would have worked out well
for him. Can you imagine that? Who to thunk it?
When you take that approach publicly, come man, As it

turns out some people may not want to sign up
for that. Can you believe it?

I just and I don't.

I like, I don't understand. There's got to be something
that and you know, people appoint to you know, mental health.
I have no idea, Listen, I got my own problems.
I can't worry about his mental health. Like I don't know.
I don't know, and neither do you. But it's like, oh,
well he's crashing out and it's like a cry for help,
and it's like, okay, well then just say help, and
that's what it is. Just say that. But here's what

I wouldn't recommend you do. If you're trying to get
to someplace in the NFL. I wouldn't recommend doing any
of that. Like we talked about the w NBA, Like
the WNBA has now got you know, former NBA players
that are that are going to apply for the WNBA

draft because they're you know, they're trying to determine what
is a woman and what's not a woman. The whole
thing is nuts. It's crazy. Like and I said it,
I'm like, if you just want to know how not
to start a league, that's the one. And I made
the point, like I've said before, Look, you may not

know what you want, but you always know what you
don't want. Like, hey, what do you feel like eating? God,
I don't know. Do you feel like you want like
Mexican food or Chinese?

No, no, no, definitely not, definitely not. It's like, if
you were trying to start a league, don't do that.
And if you were trying to get to a team specifically,
don't do what Brandon Ayuk did, especially when you consider
the fact that the Washington Commander's front office and the

forty nine Ers front office, like that guy spent time
in the other place before he went to Washington. He
was in San Francisco for years. You know the head
coach for Washington. Yeah, that guy and the head coach
for the Niners are friends. They were on the same

staff together in Atlanta. What do you think those conversations
are gonna be like when it comes to you potentially
joining them? Of anybody that would know the flaws and nay, this,
wouldn't you think that that would be that?

Speaker 2 (47:34):
You know? I learned this lesson a long time ago
one of my mentors in radio, one of the great people,
one of the nicest human beings radio, not radio whatever,
one of the nicest people of the world, Jeff Biggs.
Jeff Biggs was a Southern California radio legend, great guy,
and I remember him telling me a long time ago,
don't burn a bridge because you never know who you're

(47:57):
gonna be working for or with later on. I always
remember that, not that I ever would have done it anyways,
because it seems like a pretty up but it's just
a reminder, like, don't purnt a bridge. And it's like
Brandon Nyuk took a nuke to the bridge, but he
took a scud missile from one end of the bridge

(48:18):
to the next, and then was looking around going, well,
how much was it get over there? I don't know, man,
what do you think. I think maybe you shouldn't have
done what you did if I don't know, like they
chose Stefan Diggs over Brandon Ayuk. I don't know if
you're familiar with Steffan Diggs's work this offseason, but let's

(48:39):
just say there's been some allegations, Okay, like there's a
reason why Steffan Diggs has been as productive as he's
been everywhere he's gone and everybody's just okay, moving on Minnesota, Buffalo,
he was really really good, really productive, and they were like, yeah,

(49:01):
at a certain point, it's just ay, We're we're good here,
it's fine, everything's fine. Goes to Houston, New England, like,
it's just they chose that over you. Why do you
think that is? And in the midst of him doing

(49:21):
all of this, you're looking at it going but why
would any like who would want any part of that?
And then the other conversation that comes up that few
talk about, is it Brandon Ayuk ever plays again, which
apparently he's got to send some letter of reinstatement into
Roger Goodell to because he's on this you know NFL.

(49:43):
He's not not part he isn't count against the Niners roster.
It's this this list that he's on. Do you really
think Brandon Ayuk's gonna humble himself enough to write a
letter to Roger Goodell to get reinstated. Probably not so
by the time he comes around to doing that, it's
been about two years since he last played. There's that too.

(50:04):
It's just the worst way you could have handled any
of this if you did want to play. Maybe he
doesn't want to play. Maybe he got his contract, he
got enough money for sure, and he's like, man, I'm good,
I'll just have some fun on the way out. I
decided I don't want to play any longer. And that
happens all the time. You saw Luke Keigley get into
the Hall of Fame earlier, Luke Keigley retired and I

(50:24):
think he was twenty eight twenty nine. So guys getting
out after they've made a little bit of money and
deciding they don't want to do this anymore. You can
look at it and say, well, that's a six or
seven year career. Why would you want to get out
so early? It's like, well, you're forgetting about all the
years they played before. Then it's probably more like twenty
years they've been playing the same thing over and over,

(50:45):
and they're like, Man, I'm banged up, I'm hurt. I
actually got to make a little bit of money towards
the end. I'm good if it's that cool. But if
you really wanted to get to someplace else, why the
f would you do any of what Brandon Ayuk did, like,
and Adam Schefter is like, yeah, they were, you know,
the commanders were really thinking about signing him. A lot
of people thought it was gonna happen, and then the

(51:06):
social media stuff popped up. You know, you don't say so,
as it turns out that was a terrible idea, no kidding,
Just like some of this stuff is so obvious. I'd like, well, God,
is anybody gonna talk to him say what? Like, what
are they gonna say, like, hey, man, whatever you do,

don't go on to your social media and like do
weird stuff. Okay, no problem. And then he proceeds to
go on and do weird stuff. Like hey, whatever you do,
don't go on in trash you know, the organization anymore,
so you can kind of work with them, you know,
so you can come towards, you know, some sort of
a conclusion here and we can get you to a
place you want to play for. And what does he do?

Goes on social media and talks about the big white
man that showed up to his front door and him
I'm gonna call his wife to tell her not to
come in. Like, it's just like, what what fairly obvious
situations that are happening all over the NFL? Fairly obvious
to everybody except for Brandon Ayuk at the Jonas Knox

secret dealing with the video board company Daktronics. Who cares
that the Clippers circumvented the cap and gave him a
little bit of money? Here it is like, who cares?
What does that matter to anybody? Well, to Lego, you

can't do that Okay, so if we're gonna play that game,
let's look into the books at every NF NBA team.
Let's do that. Let's go to every NFL team. You
really think, are you that naive that you think that
this doesn't happen elsewhere? Really? Really, you want to know

thing has been dragging on and on. You want to

it afterwards. And what's great about this and it sort
of lines up perfectly with Roger Craig getting into the
Hall of Fame because Roger Craig was really one of
those guys that you could use out of the backfield

guys are phenomenal, and you almost you almost have to

have that nowadays because the thought is, look, man, if
you draft a running back, I mean you could literally
just run him into the ground and then just draft
another guy afterwards. You could take that approach, but both
those guys are such key members of the offense and
they've been so fantastic they get their deal done. You

being dead, and I don't think it's that the running
back is dead or the running back position is dying.
I just think the offenses have a ball to the
point to where and now you just want to throw
the ball down to try and pick up a first down.
It used to be running on first down, running on

back position has died. It's just evolved to the point
