Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Dude, not adjust your radio. Monty, It's happened. It has
finally happened. Oh my goodness. The saga, the saga that
has gripped Pittsburgh fits the fish landed in there even
fish to stay Pittsburgh, the saga that has gripped Pittsburgh
since the fish. Aaron Rodgers just an hour ago was
(00:24):
cited on Pro Football Talk and by at Brogie four
one two with Ben's chronic Pete Pat Friar Muth and
Mason Rudolph at an ice cream shop. The news Now
Adam Schefter tweeted it, So it's has got to be
a fishing. Aaron Rodgers back in the Black and Gold
for one more year, one more year, one more year.
(00:49):
I'm Martin Weiss. That's Monty Belayos. Aaron Rodgers, the new quarterback,
the old quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Again, the more
things change, the more they stay the same. So we
had the Aaron Rodgers. Where is he? Oh my god,
I don't know where he's going to be. I mean,
Pittsburgh apparently one of the easiest places to hide out
(01:11):
in America because a first battle Hall of Fame quarterback
was able to be under the radar for approximately seventy
two hours. I want to keeping track minute by minute,
but I know people were, but the saga is ending
Aaron Rodgers, a Pittsburgh's dealer. I think the big question, Moncie,
do you care?
Speaker 3 (01:28):
No, I really don't.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
I'm so glad you put it that simple, because I
was going to.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Say, are we supposed to be surprised?
Speaker 4 (01:36):
I feel like we all were just waiting for the
news that it officially happened, and whether it was going
to be a one or two year deal whatnot. But
this was a situation last week right where the reports
were He's going, there's an expecting of a deal to happen,
the expectation of a deal happening this weekend, which was
now a week ago the schedule officially came out.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
I'm not surprised. I guess good for the Steelers.
Speaker 5 (02:02):
I guess, well, this was obviously the player right for Pittsburgh, right,
So I guess it's a good thing that your plan
is working out.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
But I just I can't. I keep going back to
last season and mon see, maybe it's in bad form
by my part, but I just used to I'm a
fan of the New Orleans Saints. That's the team I
grew up rooting for. I grew up going to games
with bags over my head because everybody else in the
(02:33):
stands had bags overheads, and they called the team the Aints.
My dad used to say, when you looked at the scoreboard,
you know, the game of the scoreboard, it'd be like
at el versus New Orleans right be et vers n O.
My daddy said it NL stood.
Speaker 4 (02:47):
For no team for no no points, no team, no.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Tea, no team right our Wise, Michael vic go crazy
all over the saying, oh so when I had to
hear the common frame from Pittsburgh of we actually want
to suck, we want to be bad. Mike Tomlin has
never won a playoff game since like nineteen whatever. It's
(03:12):
been all these years since Mike Tomlin can can procres
and you know what, it's all Mike Tomlin's fault. They
need to fire Mike Tomlin because they can't win Super Bowls.
Never you mind, they make the playoffs every year. Never
you mind, they never have a losing record, and people
will say, oh, it's a loser mentality. It's supposed to
(03:33):
swing for the fences. Well, let me tell you something, monsie,
it's real hard to take the girl home if you
don't have a ticket to the dance. It's really hard
to say at the letout right and hey, hey, hey,
where are you going back?
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Hey?
Speaker 2 (03:47):
How you doing?
Speaker 6 (03:48):
No?
Speaker 2 (03:48):
I didn't see you all night. Where you've been? Your
shirt is too your shirt is too pressed. I could
tell you weren't at the party. You couldn't afford it.
The Pittsburgh Dealers always came out of the postseason with
a wrinkled shirt, you know, Yeah, they always came out
with a wrinkle shirt. Yeah. And now now that they
finally got their wish that Mike Tomlin is gonna be
(04:09):
calling Sunday night football games, they got a new coach
and all of that, You know what, you got the
same damn thing. You got the same thing on repeat,
just a different color, Mike calling the shots. And so
I laugh at all these Pittsburgh Steelers fans who said
it is Tomlin's fault that we can't get over the hume,
because clearly this has been it was an organizational mandate.
(04:33):
And Mike Thomlins said, you know what, I'm done, y'all
booed me I'm out of here, and so I guess what,
I think you got a worst football coach now in
the same scenario.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
I don't know if it's the worst football coach. It's
I hear what you're saying, though, because I'm with you.
I don't think Mike Tomlin was the problem. I actually
think he kept everything together, and like you mentioned, you
were so used to going to the playoffs, which in
itself is something that so many other teams have no
idea what that is like, and you get tired of
(05:05):
losing in the playoffs understandably. So I don't know if
McCarthy is going to be able to go in there
and deliver a playoff season. But I will say it
seems as though the Pittsburgh situation, they thought having one
more year of Aaron Rodgers and possibly waiting for the
next year to see what quarterbacks come out of the
next draft class might be a better a better path
(05:29):
for us. Also, that division, you know, at some I know,
the AFC North has always been a really tough division.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
But is it still correct?
Speaker 3 (05:40):
But is it still that?
Speaker 4 (05:42):
I don't know if it is, so, I feel like
that division is up for graps. I don't know who's
going to come out of it this season, And maybe
maybe the Steelers are also looking at like that. When
you have Mason Rudolph, Will Howard Drew Aller, you probably
needed a different quarterback to come in and at least
helps steal the ship some way, somehow.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
But it's just my thing. Aaron Rodgers. Now a compensation
update from Adam Schefter. It's a one year deal worked
up to twenty five million dollars wow. Expected to include
a base salary of twenty two and twenty three million
dollars with a few million more in incentives. I can
do the math about two to three million more in
incentives if the base allery is expected to be between
(06:25):
twenty two and twenty three. I'm fascinated to know. Remember
Mike Florida from FRO Football Talk speculated whether or not
Aaron Rodgers was essentially trying to get a first ride
of refusal if in fact this thing went to the tank,
that if he were released, he'd be able to kind
of pick and choose where he was able to go.
(06:46):
He would have to go through waivers and have potentially
land somewhere he wasn't interested in landing because if you
because we and we and it is not. People kind
of gave him a lot of trouble for that. I
didn't really care about that one. It didn't really bug
me that much because how many times have we seen
starting quarterbacks get benched in week eleven, twelve thirteen and
get sent home? So if I'm Rogers, I clearly don't
(07:07):
want to get sent home. I probably have somebody that
would want my services. We could talk this out. I
didn't really have a problem with that. And I also
didn't have a problem with like a twenty to thirty
million dollar range of guaranteed money in that, like you
gotta pay bro, like you gotta pay me man, Like
I still am a quarterback right right, Like you gotta
(07:29):
make it worth my time to come out here, like
I want to be here. But still, Montie, you and
I aren't exactly volunteering right now. And that's think it's
a different thing. They expect Aaron Rodgers to do the same.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
Yeah, that's fair. I think that's fair. They were the
Steelers just were stuck, right who had the leverage? It
was Aaron Rodgers. Oh yeah, yeah, So I'm not surprised
at it at all. The Steelers, I think we're stuck,
but also trying to not fully pump the season. They
also didn't want to fully do that because they could
have gone with their quarterback room.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
But what fun is that?
Speaker 2 (08:04):
I mean? But I think that if you're a Pittsburgh
Steelers fan today, I do wonder because I'm a little
tapped in with some of the beat reporters over there,
and they are just the biggest. The standard is the standard,
you know, I get it is a Mike Tomlin is them.
But like the idea that like if they Pittsburgh Steelers fans,
(08:25):
from my opinion, if they do not win a playoff
game this year, will feel like it was a lost season.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
Well, they're going to have to readjust their their thoughts
going into the season because there's no way that that's
it's either playoff win or bust.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
Because I'm gonna lean towards bust.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
Well, and that is kind of where I'm at with it.
Steelers thought they were firing Mike Tomlin and all of
a sudden that was going to be better and different,
and you know, everything looks exactly the same to me
Pittsburgh man as well mean purgatory because everything looks the
exact same This is going to be another nine to
(09:01):
eleven win team. This is going to be another team
that flirts with the wild card, maybe a division win
because to your point, AFC North Okay, Well, Baltimore is
interesting because they also have a new head coach, new
system that is just on its face different, Right, it's
gonna be different, but you do have the continuity with
(09:22):
Burrow and Zach Taylor and Cincinnati. They their defense should
not just be it should not look like they have
nine players on the field after trading for Dexter Lawrence
right and getting some of the you know, this should
be at least passable, yes, right, And so when you're
looking at that, so it it just feels like very
much this team is always the last team to sneak
(09:44):
into the postseason, and when they get into the postseason,
it's very much NBA style one seed versus eight seed.
This team has like it's very much when the eight
seeds lose in the NBA postseason or the six seeds
lose in the NBA postseason, it's not like like, oh no,
what a disaster. It's really like, well, what does this
he need to do to try to get over the
(10:05):
home How do we retool this thing. You know what
I'm saying, how do we the Temples lost sessionday, We're
gonna talk about what they need to do to move
forward to get back. We're not going to be like, Wow,
championship aspirations lost in the win yet again, right, it's
kind of not the framework of that. Steelers feel like
they have the championship aspirations framework and none of the
other parts that build into it. And it's infrastructure, and
(10:28):
it's a complete infrastructure, and I am fascinated to see.
I think if any team bottom falls out this year
that you'd be like, wow, who saw that coming? I
think it's to Pittsburgh's team.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
We're putting a note on that.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
Let's keep track of that.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
In He thinks that the Steelers being terrible is not
gonna surprise you.
Speaker 7 (10:46):
That's what you're thinking, but not so bad.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
I don't see like Jets level of last season better.
But you're like, wow, this is one of the worst,
like one of the worst units we've seen.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
That's not what you're saying, But you're saying, clearly steps
back from what we saw last year. Yes, like you
don't you wouldn't be surprised if they can't even produce
the same exact type of season.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
I would not be a seven and nine, seven and
nine years, seven and ten year. Keep forgetting there's seventeen
games and a seven and ten year. I would not
blink twice at all. I would not be shocked at all,
especially when you consider and I don't expect Aaron Rodgers
to get hurt. He does have a way of getting
rid of the ball very quickly. And I think I
do think that there is something too. Injuries for quarterbacks
(11:32):
can be a bit of a quarterback thing.
Speaker 4 (11:35):
One hundred percent. I so agree with that. Look at
Joe Flacco. How does Joe Flacco come in there and
deliver for the Bengals, but Joe Burrow can't stay healthy? Right,
There's something in that, and again just a little.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
Sometimes you have bad luck, sometimes you have sometimes it's
a feature, not a bug, like like Jan Burrow for
his for his sake, the next time they line up
and play and shotgun, the next time they line up
under will be the first time they line up under
center in the Borough era. And it's like, you know
what helps kind of fool defenses when they can't see
(12:08):
where the ball is. Does the running back have the ball,
the quarterback oft the ball. I don't know. I'm gonna
take a second and figure it out and then maybe
I can go over the top to my great wide receivers.
But he likes to be the shotgun, likes to see everything,
and as the result, hangs onto the ball too long.
We talked about it last when he did get hurt
last season. There is something to it. You have to
get rid of the ball. Aaron Rodgers absolutely will get
rid of the ball and on a better team around him.
(12:31):
I think Aaron Rodgers could be super successful. Like if
Aaron Rodgers was somehow the quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles
last season, I don't think you're shitting there. AJ Brown
not reading no books on the sideline. If Aaron Rodgers
the quarterback, because the ball's coming out, it's coming up
fast and to get the ball.
Speaker 4 (12:46):
To his guys, or if he was like on the
Atlanta Felcons.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
There you go. He got Drake London picked Bijon Robbinson.
Just weapon after weaping after wepping after weapon. If Pittsburgh
Steelers got water guns.
Speaker 4 (13:02):
Water guns, that's okay, Yeah, you're not that scared. It's like, okay,
you're gonna get me, but you're not gonna get me,
you know.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
Okay, we'll have to pay attention to DK Mataf who
can run three routes. Sure, I mean last year the
team's offensive MVP was Kenneth Gainwell. Great name for a
running back. Shouldn't be your league or your team MVP.
Speaker 7 (13:23):
M m M.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Yeah, all due respect to mister Gainwell.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
I'm telling you, I think the Steelers realistic expectation is.
Speaker 4 (13:32):
That you have a that you maybe make the playoffs
once again as a fringe team, and that's it. Don't
expect beyond that. That would be realistic expectations for the Steelers.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
I do know this though selfishly I'm glad he's back.
I'm glad he's back. Let's do it. I'm so glad
he's back. The there's nothing as somebody who again, you
know this and if you're just first time hearing this.
I do price conferences the way that people do lunch right,
(14:05):
like daily quite a bit and honestly sometimes very unsatisfied
like his podcast. Yeah, this is what I do. And
there is nothing better than a midweek Aaron Rodgers pressure
when they're like one in two, one and three and
it's just like, oh man, primetime stand alone receiver slips
(14:27):
on a route, Aaron Rodgers. That's my favorite version of
Aaron Rodgers. Yeah, that's my favorite. Oh you know, he's
got to run on the red line and then everybody
googles frantically, what's the red line? Like wilerce I did?
I did, run down the road, throw me the ball.
I got the ball where I'm at? Aaron, No, I'm
not gonna do that.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
I hope we get another moment of him getting mad
at one of his linemen for wanting to celebrate and like,
you know, tackle him out of out of happiness.
Speaker 7 (14:55):
That was really fun.
Speaker 2 (14:56):
That was so funny.
Speaker 7 (14:57):
He looks so mass, so happy, and then he got
knocked over by his lineman trying to match his energy,
and he just was so mad immediately.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
I love Roger Jones. That's one of those days you
always remember because it's like, dude, that could have been
the end of your career.
Speaker 7 (15:12):
But like, we should do this, what if that ended
his career?
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Put this, We should put this in a file, this
away somewhere down the line. What week it is that
Aaron Rodgers gets into a faux fight on the sideline.
Remember Rogers versus Sala? Whoever before Sala got hired? Rogers
versus Rogers Jones, Oh dude, Rogers versus McCarthy put it
on pay per view? All right? Coming up next. H
it was a one two three k't coon, but apparently
(15:38):
the flight left a little early for one player. We'll
get to that coming up next. Martin Wis mos Belan

Speaker 4 (16:57):
I try.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
I should be better. I'm getting better at retweeting things, though.
Speaker 7 (17:02):
I am there you go.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
There was a period I was just like, dude, I'm out. Yeah,
I'm just gonna read this thing like it's a newspaper,
because like, what are you guys doing over here? This
is weird? All right? Hammer and Hank says Monty, why
is that? Buddies? Do you think the Chiefs will return
to Super Bowl contender this season or do you think
the dynasty is over your.
Speaker 4 (17:22):
Thoughts, I'm not closing the door fully on the Dynasty yet.
Maybe talk to me after this season. I'm not closing
the door on the Dynasty. I don't know if they're
making it to the postseason, though. I need to see
what Patrick Mahomes looks like coming off that injury. I
think it's just the expectation is too high after an
injury like that when the Chiefs are not getting any
(17:44):
younger necessarily. But I'm not closing the door on the
dynasty just yet. It is on its way to close.
What about you, Martin? What do you think?
Speaker 2 (17:53):
Uh, the screen door is closed and it's getting a
little chilly inside. Yeah, that's where I'll land. If Mahomes
is out there starting week one. And I did see
him playing golf, which feels like it should matter, but
it honestly really doesn't in terms of football. But he
looked good hitting it. He looked good driving the ball
(18:13):
off the team. So I think about their week one
and if that's the case, Uh, then we'll have to
wait and see. But if no Mahomes at no bueno.
Speaker 7 (18:21):
I like that screen analogy. That's good. You know the
windows technique, you know, you could say the windows still open.
If you come at it with enough force, you can
still get through that window.
Speaker 4 (18:29):
But it's a lot of worry.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
It's just a little chili, Just a little chili, all right, Monci.
The moment heard round the Western Conference finals, after many
many Americans had turned their TVs Off Anthony Edwards after
being subd out of a game and earned a timeout
and a game in which it was a as the
(18:51):
kid the Timberwolve clock the belt. And it's the third
consecutive year, mind you, that they've been down thirty or
more than a nation game, so familiar territory for Minnesota
most of the time. It was happening in the Western
Conference Finals, this one in the second round. But Anthony Edwards,
with about eight minutes left on the clock, walked down
to the Spurs side of things and shook the hand
(19:14):
of just about every man, woman, and child in their
entourage to say good game. This engendered outrage among many
and others saying, no big deal, moncy, what say you?
Speaker 4 (19:26):
What I say? What I've been saying? What have I
been saying about Anthony Edwards sitting right here next to you?
Speaker 2 (19:32):
You're standing?
Speaker 3 (19:33):
I thank you.
Speaker 4 (19:34):
You're right. I'm standing right now. That's true. He's not
bothered by losing the way I wish he was. I
would never have been able to do something like that. Never.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
If I'm getting blown.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
Out in the middle of a game, I am livid.
Sitting on the sideline pretending I'm not livid, cheering on
my teammates that have to finish a job that I
couldn't do. I was taken out because I couldn't do
this job. Now, granted he's hurt, I know he is.
The Timberwolves were not, were not at the strength that
they thought. No, it'd Devincenzo. I understand all that, But
(20:07):
there's something in like the way that I wish Anthony
Edwards led his team that I think could get them
over the hump, over the edge, and that when I
saw was just me feeling like this is what.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
I'm talking about.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
I think he is not bothered by losing the way
I wish he was. And I'm not saying that is
a quality that is healthy. It is not a healthy quality.
But I think that's what makes Kobe and Michael Jordan different,
what looks like makes maybe Wemby different, that they are bothered.
It's not that it's not okay, that was weird. It
(20:44):
was way too much time, and it seemed to me
like you weren't bothered.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
I actually read it the other way. I think he
was very upset in part because he, after hybrid extending
his knee, played the most minutes of any wolf in
the series and with like the idea that a team
with Anthony Edwards playing even marginally as well as he
(21:08):
could gets blown up by thirty as wild, but also
just like the team had given up well long before this.
And I'm not saying that it's something that you would
like to see all the time, and I'm not saying
it's something that you but like there was no concept
when you when I'm watching Kyle Anderson in the playoff game,
(21:32):
we all know we're playing out the string. The reason
why this, I think hit a lot of people's radars
is it's simply moncie because of the order of operations
in which it happened. This was in a timeout, and
Anthony Edwards was being subed that they did wholesale changes
during the timeout. I've watched and I don't want to
(21:56):
throw tell Tales out of school, but you know, you know,
I sit here for the updates prior to and uh
hear the shows that let go up and I heard
I would never have seen Lebron James or Michael Jordan
do this in a losing effort, and it's like several
instances of that happening that this is the difference they
(22:17):
to a man, got taken out off after like a
live ball turnover, and shook the hands of the guys
on the court right, and then walked off to the
to the sideline. This was after a time out, so
there was no guys on the court. I think it
looked a little odd because he shook everybody's hand, But
(22:37):
I think if it had been a time out, he
would have said, like salute to Wenby, I'm going to
the bench. I know I'm done today. It's not a
great look, but ultimately it's not something that And maybe
it's just simply because and Ian asked me this question earlier.
Is this just because I like Anthony Edwards in this instance,
I didn't crush Lebron when he walked off the court
(22:58):
with four minutes left and shook every one Warrior's hands
after they were about to get.
Speaker 4 (23:01):
The finals game. Yeah, in the championship, Yeah, a half
minutes to go.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
Yeah, when they.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
Were about to get the sure work. We're doing the
same thing and they.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
Were down like fifteen. He's coming out of the game,
the coach has pulled the coach is waving the white flash.
Speaker 4 (23:14):
Yeah, two and a half minutes ago, it's over they're
about to win the NBA Championship.
Speaker 2 (23:17):
Yes, well, they're about to lose the NBA.
Speaker 4 (23:19):
Oh no, I meant the Warriors. They're about to win
the NBA Championship.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
But ultimately the coach took him out of the game.
He's shaking everybody's hand. Its four minutes left to look
it up. Earlier today, I didn't have a problem with that.
I also don't have a problem being down thirty and
doing this. I think it's relatively good sportsmanship. But I
also think it is something that if I was in
Minnesota brain Trust, I'm having a conversation with ant because
it's like, dude, I understand the intent, but that's just
(23:44):
a really it's not a good look.
Speaker 3 (23:49):
No, I don't like any of it.
Speaker 4 (23:50):
I don't. I don't think there's what you said to
minute to say. It's not a big it's not.
Speaker 3 (23:56):
Really that big of a deal because it was a
time out. He knew it was over.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
If you would have just exacerbated what looked, it made
it look way weirder than it would have been.
Speaker 4 (24:06):
Well, right, because the adoption is not doing that and
not looking weird.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
There was either do that or not do that, you know,
like there was no apa between.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
There was a ton of instances and guys after play
as a playoff series is ending guys getting subbed out
to get for sure, to get the claps from the crowd,
and then them dapping up guys as they're walking off
the court. That's that's That was my only point to that.
Speaker 4 (24:29):
But I feel like there was so much time left
we had to sit and watch you.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
We had to watch you for.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
An entire basically quarter, eight minutes left more of the
quarter than not. There was so much time left for
for that moment to happen, and that in that moment,
it was just like, I understand that you're not at
full strength and you realize it's over and everybody's waving
the white flag, including your team. They didn't even show
up to play this game. But that was not something
(24:56):
that if you are bothered by losing, you do that.
Speaker 7 (24:59):
I you know, you know what it kind of reminded
me of a little bit is like if you're playing
just say you're playing a video game against your friend.
You're playing two K against your friend, and say it's
like that eight minutes left to go in the game
and you know your friend won. It's like you just
dropped me, like putting the controller down to being like
all right, dude, you won.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
That's the way I take it. It's like it was
a very much. I've done everything I can do here.
I've played all the minutes I could play. I got
multiple starts. I got Rudy Gobert scoring three points in
two games.
Speaker 7 (25:27):
But it's one thing when it's like a video game
and you can just have out like every start, right,
But it's when when it's your your teammates are still
on the court, still playing, and it's disrespectful to an extent.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
But that's the thing they weren't. I mean, I get
that they I understand the game was still playing, but
there are the five guys that came in the game.
All I had to get undressed before they win it.
The game was over. Let's kick it over to Steve
de Seger because there's some baseball games not over quite yet. Steve,
how you doing doing okay?
Speaker 7 (25:54):
Thank you? And of course it's one writer put it.
Speaker 10 (25:57):
I guess the NFL offseason has just ended because Aaron
Rodgers has signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Officially, he is
their quarterback at one year, twenty two million dollars plus incentives.
His head coach is now Mike McCarthy X of Green
Bay Rodgers. Will turn forty three in December. This will
be his twenty second NFL season. Last year with the Steelers,
(26:17):
he had twenty four touchdown passes, seven interceptions. He went
ten and six. Steelers, by the way, host Green Bay
in their first exhibition in mid August. In late October,
Pittsburgh plays a game in Paris against New Orleans. Rodgers
is due to be the first Steelers quarterback to start
consecutive season openers since Ben Roethlisberger, who started eleven straight
(26:39):
from twenty eleven through twenty twenty one. No NBA playoff
game tonight. The league does have a game seven on Sunday,
Cleveland at Detroit. There could be the end of a
second round series in the NHL Playoffs tonight. Couple early tallies.
The Sabers at Canadians game has tied one to one
in the first in Major League Baseball on Fox TV
(27:00):
for most of the country. The Mets have taken the
lead to to one over the Yankees in the bottom
of the fourth, scoring on an Era and a wild
pitch by Carlos Rodin. Padres lead at Seattle five to
one in the bottom of the fourth. The Dodgers in
an hour get going in Anaheim against the Angels again.
Dodgers lefty Blake Snell will have elbow surgery on Tuesday.
(27:22):
Among the other games in progress, White Sox lead the
Cubs five nothing in the bottom of the fifth inning. Earlier,
Miami won in ten innings ten to five at Tampa Bay.
The Marlins scored eight times in the top of the tenth.
Tampa Bay Rays, first in the AL, started the day
two games over the Yankees, and Philadelphia won six to
(27:42):
nothing at Pittsburgh. The winning pitcher Christopher Sanchez, with a
complete game, thirteen strikeouts, no walk. Sanchez is five and
two with an ERA of one point eight two so far,
and he's thrown nearly thirty straight scoreless innings goal by Montreal.
Canadian at home have just gone up two to one
on Buffalo eleven and a half minutes to go in
(28:04):
the first period. Only two shots and two tallies for
the home team so far.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
Back to you shooting one hundred percent. It's good math.
Speaker 10 (28:13):
I'll say that's not gonna probably for the.
Speaker 2 (28:16):
Best pre game show every weekend, be sure to tune
into Fox Sports Radio's Countdown presented by bet MGM every
Saturday and Sunday morning from nine am to noon Eastern

all the biggest games of the weekend. Tune into Countdown

here on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeart App. But
(28:38):
I know with schedule release, those boys are gonna they
won't be able to help themselves. They will be all
over you know. Hey, you see the Rams got to
go to Australia this.
Speaker 4 (28:49):
And that it might be a Christmas for them, you
know exactly or Thanksgiving Eve.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
Yeah, the Packers. Uh, let's do a little buy or
sell NFL off, especially in those schedules out.
Speaker 7 (29:02):
That's right, all right, So we did it last week,
did a few teams, going to get to a few
more this week, and actually by the end of today's show,
we should have about half the league's teams done. So
nice buy or sell. I'm gonna give you guys a
few offseason moves that each of these teams have made,
and you're gonna tell me whether you're buying or selling
their off season so far. So start with the Minnesota Vikings.
(29:22):
Things they've done so far this offseason. They signed quarterback
Kyler Murray on a veteran minimum contract. Might I add,
drafted defensive lineman Caleb Banks out of Florida at eighteen overall,
and they traded away edge rusher Jonathan Grenard, who's not
with the Eagles. So we'll start with Monsey. Are you
buying or selling the Vikings offseason so far?
Speaker 4 (29:43):
I hate to say this, but I think I'm I
think I'm selling so so so so it's hard for
me to believe in Kyler Murray. I would be fine
if he proves me wrong. I don't believe in Kyler Murray.
I don't believe in nine either.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
What's his name?
Speaker 4 (29:59):
I only think of him as nine now sure?
Speaker 3 (30:01):
J McCarthy, Hey, J McCarthy, thank you so much.
Speaker 4 (30:04):
I don't it's I don't believe in them, so I
can't believe in the team. The defense wasn't the problem
last year. I'm not saying it's gonna be a problem
this year. But if your offense can't do it, then
I'm selling.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
I'm selling. I said it last year. I was like,
this is the type of move as Sam Donald continues
to tear through the NFL and Daniel Jones had a
little nine game stretch moving off from both of those
guys who cost you your job, and well, Kyler Murray
eventually falls off the cliff. He falls off every single
fall around Thanksgiving's going to be the same story again
(30:37):
for the Minnesota Vikings at Kevin O'Connor, who seems to
me to be a hell of a ball coach, he
just can't seem to stick with a quarterback. And that
is ultimately what did you get measured by?
Speaker 10 (30:47):
All right?
Speaker 7 (30:47):
Next up the Buffalo Bills. Things na've done this offseason.
They promoted offensive coordinator Joe Brady to head coach or
placed some Sean McDermott. They traded for wide receiver DJ
Moore from the Bears for a second round pick, and
they signed defensive end Bradley Chubb previously with the Dolphins.
And they drafted defensive end TJ. Parker at a Clemson
with their second overall pick. So Martin buying or seller
(31:09):
sell sell, Sell.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
Sell, Sell sell. The Bills are the pay of the Bills.
Are the Steelers North with a really good quarterback that's
it every single year. It's the same thing. Let's trade
for a veteran receiver who is other two's team didn't
want Dj Moore. Oh, okay, let's trade for an aging
pass rusher Von Miller. And then we did it again
with Bradley Chubb. It's just the same thing over and
(31:31):
over again, and it's just gonna We'll see in the
AFC Divisional round some receiver who's thirty four years old
drop a pass and everybody'd be like, well, Josh Allen
really didn't lose that game. The Bills lost it around it.
Speaker 4 (31:45):
I really like how Marion put that together. Is there
one in the middle?
Speaker 3 (31:48):
Can I hold on to it and think about it?
What would that be?
Speaker 7 (31:51):
Yeah, it's just hold.
Speaker 4 (31:52):
Hold. I think I'd hold. And even though Martin.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
Is getting me to sell like that was a really good.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
Forgot to mention, how do you get from after that?
Speaker 4 (32:01):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (32:01):
You got promoted, Like I don't want to talk about
battlefield promotion because the head coach had got Yeah, I'm out.
Speaker 4 (32:07):
The reason I want to hold is I feel like
they dealt with some injuries on their O line and
so I just feel like the Bills maybe still have
a year in them.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
I like that they promoted from within for the coach.
So I want to hold.
Speaker 4 (32:23):
I want to hold, but I lean with what Martin
is saying.
Speaker 7 (32:28):
Next up the Atlanta Falcons. They hired head coach Kevin Stefanski,
replacing Raheem Morris now with the Niners. They signed quarterback
to a tug of Iloa to compete with Michael Pennix,
and they drafted corner Avon Terrell to play across from
his brother AJ. So you're buying or selling the Falcons
so far this offseason, Mansie, I.
Speaker 4 (32:49):
Am so buying.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
I'd buy that for a dollar.
Speaker 4 (32:52):
I'm really looking forward to seeing the Atlanta Falcons behind
Kevin Stefanski.
Speaker 3 (32:57):
With two atago Iiloa, because they have weapons. The team
is there.
Speaker 4 (33:01):
I feel like we've been waiting for like last two
years for the Falcons plan to come to fruition, and
I feel like this might be the year that it happens.
Because if something happens to Michael Penick Unior, who we
know has his injury prone, that's not a shocker here.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Tua Tua could do it.
Speaker 4 (33:16):
Tua is can be good enough to get.
Speaker 3 (33:19):
Them to go far. What's far definitely a win in
the postseason.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
Okay, I will buy that the Falcons are wildcar contenders.
I'd buy that for But the most funny thing about
it is Kevin Stefans. He can't quit soft toss and
lefties and I just can't do it. He's like middle
if he will be a middle reliever. He made the
league Baseball Kevin's fans and he's like, I want that
guy to be flack quarterback. I mean, from Dylan Gabriel
(33:48):
to now some combination of Michael Fannix into a tongue
vlow probably a little bit of bulk because both of
those guys will probably see the blue tent more than
they see the green field when it hits the season.
But my, he's right. They got a lot of weapons
around there in Atlanta, and if it's honestly, I thing,
if Tua is able to distribute enough, it's fascinating interesting
to see them in a don't But I do wonder
(34:11):
what that offensive line gonna do, because if that offensive
line is not sturdy, boy, let me tell you that thing,
that's a potance to fall off of a come coming
up next. It's a tough job, but somebody's got to
do it. Me and MONSI. We step up to the
plate every day. We make sure the innocent go free
and then guilty do their time. We'll play sports court.
Speaker 1 (34:35):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
In the sports justice system, there are many decisions that
must be made. A jury of two Martin, Weiss and
Monty decide the fates of many here on Fox Sports Radio.
This is their stories Sports Radio. Let's play sports court.
(35:00):
The defense is wrong.
Speaker 1 (35:02):
Help sports sports court.
Speaker 7 (35:05):
All right, it's that time of the week, the sports court.
I have a list of four people accused from around
the world of sports, and you guys are going to
tell me whether they are guilty or innocent here in
the sports court. So let's start with this. Garrick he
Goo stands accused PGA golfer Garrick Hego took a two
stroke penalty at the first round of the PGA Championship
on Thursday after he was about ten minutes late to
(35:27):
his tea time. He said this on PGA Championship of
Radio after the round.
Speaker 11 (35:32):
I always cut it pretty fine. There's a lot of us,
who do you know. We don't want to get to
the t box ten minutes early and be cold, you know.
We have to hit it far and straight. It's our
job to do that. I don't really think it's my
job to be ten minutes early, so obviously cut it
too fine. I thought I still had a few minutes.
I didn't have my watch or my phone on me,
(35:53):
and my Caddy was dropping off my track man, so
went to the potting Green, hit one part and then
heard my aim and run down.
Speaker 7 (36:01):
All right, So Garrick, he goo guilty or not guilty,
We'll start with Manci.
Speaker 4 (36:05):
I'm sorry, my guy. I am late or barely on
time to anything besides work, and so I feel for
you because I don't even think he.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
Was one minute late.
Speaker 4 (36:14):
Actually, I think he showed up to the tee within
like the minute window, but it had passed the eighteen
minute I think, if I'm correct.
Speaker 3 (36:22):
But he's so guilty, Lias, he did he did that?
Speaker 2 (36:28):
Yeah, I mean this is pretty cut and dry. Six
o'clock at six o'clock, yeah, seven o'clock, seven o'clock, fifteen,
seven fifteen. He's supposed to be there whenever you're supposed
to be there. I cut it pretty fine, well, don't
be guilty, all right next time?
Speaker 4 (36:42):
And he missed the cup by one stroke, like the
to play this weekend.
Speaker 7 (36:46):
He was playing well on day way he.
Speaker 4 (36:48):
Was, he missed it.
Speaker 3 (36:49):
I'm pretty sure by a one stroke.
Speaker 7 (36:50):
Oh god, that's brutal. It's next up. Jannis Antetokunbo stands accused. So,
interviewing on Breonna Stewart's Game Recognized Game podcast, Bucks, Miles
Turner revealed that Doc Rivers never find any of his
players for anything, whether it be for being late, missing meetings, whatever.
So Brianna Stewart asked Miles Turner which teammate was the
(37:10):
worst offender when it came to that kind of stuff,
and he had this to say.
Speaker 3 (37:14):
Who's the teammates that's most likely to be late?
Speaker 6 (37:16):
Oh that's easy, honest, Jannie is going to show up
whatever he wants. Really, you know, I think that that's
kind of just came with the territory that and once
I kind of saw it was going down, I was like,
a man, more power to you. They ain't gonna find you.
Do what you do.
Speaker 7 (37:27):
So these are both about being late being on time.
But what do you guys think about this one? Jannis
on teda Kunbo guilty or not guilty? Martin, He's guilty.
Take him away, boys, I am the chief hair.
Speaker 2 (37:38):
Ultimately take him away. Oh my goodness, ultimately the guilty away,
right the ultimately the guiltiest is the Milwaukee Bucks. Gianni's
Antetokounmpo has shown through years and years, except for when
he talks about it, that he wants to be traded.
This is this is episode seventy five billion of I
don't want to be here. Trade him, then you'll have
(37:59):
this problem.
Speaker 4 (38:00):
Straight to Jill.
Speaker 2 (38:01):
He's going away a long long time.
Speaker 4 (38:04):
And with him, he needs to take his coach too,
because I'm with you. It's not just Yannest. There's so
many people to blame, but Yannis, get it together. What
are you doing?
Speaker 3 (38:15):
Set the example straight to Jill.
Speaker 7 (38:17):
Next up, Steve Kerr stands accused, So the Warriors head coach,
fresh off a new contract extension, revealed to the media
that this past season he'd been secretly sneaking Taylor swift
lyrics into his press conferences. Kind of a funny little
easter egg there, but considering the team struggles this year,
some fans are pretty irked hearing that. What do you
guys think though, Steve Kerr guilty or not guilty?
Speaker 2 (38:38):
Oh? He's not guilty. These allegations are false, dude. I
don't begrudge guys who do things like that. It's a long,
long season, man. You gotta find some type of way
to break up the monotony. I do not begrudge something
like this is so harmless. I don't be good.
Speaker 4 (38:53):
I don't knock so innocent.
Speaker 2 (38:56):
I'm gonna walk out of here, damn sing what you
can do about it.
Speaker 4 (39:01):
If any of you noticed it during the time and
you were upset about it, that's a different story. But
now you're being told that this happened, and there's not
even proof of it because apparently he said there was
a video mate, but he didn't want it to be
put out to the public. But there's a video that
somebody in his family I think put together. Nobody knew anything.
Speaker 3 (39:17):
Nobody knew anything, and now you hear about it, and
now you're ticked off. Shut up, you go to jail.
Speaker 7 (39:22):
Last one here, John Rahm stands a cue. So on Thursday,
during round one of the PGA Championship, golfer John Rahm
shanked one of his shots and subsequently swung his club
into the ground in frustration. Unfortunately, doing that caused a
big fat divot to fly up and hit a volunteer
for the event, which happened to be a nice elderly
man hit him in the face. It is worth noting
that Rom immediately apologized to the man, went over and
(39:44):
talked to him. But is that enough to give him
an innocent verdict here in the sports court though? What
do you guys think John Rahm guilty or not guilty? Monci?
Speaker 4 (39:51):
I would have done the same thing. He's innocent.
Speaker 2 (39:53):
I'm innocent and we helped me out.
Speaker 4 (39:57):
Did that when I miss? If I strike out five misses,
serve five miss arethrow I'm throwing that against someone, No,
not someone a wall, the floor, But you get it.
I would have done the same thing.
Speaker 2 (40:08):
You're letting them go again. Listen, if you decide you
want to put on that yellow jacket that says TSC
security or whatever, look a lot all right? Like this?
You know this reminds me of you remember when DeVante
Adams and and who's the raiders who was coming off
the sideline and you got pushed photographer Devanta Adams just
(40:29):
was paid millions dollars go push people around on the field.
Speaker 4 (40:31):
Get out of the damn way, look alive.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
Like Ron move the other way, don't listening to Fox
Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (40:41):
Martin Wise Monsey Belongo's broadcasting live from the Fox Sports
Radio studios. Monci, what was up? Do you remember that
song by Bobby Schmurta. It was all good about a
week ago. Yeah, that's how it was a Philadelphia. That's
(41:02):
all it was in Philadelphia about a week ago. It
was all good, ride and high, just beat the Celtics.
Joe LMB looking.
Speaker 4 (41:13):
Good after his epidectomy.
Speaker 2 (41:15):
Certain weekend radio whists say this, Tay, you could go
to these conference finals. That guy so looks an.
Speaker 4 (41:22):
Idiot, and girl, I think I said the same thing. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (41:26):
So all of a sudden they have two games in
New York and then two more games in New York
South apparently the Philadelphia seventy six ers, as there was
a takeover at the Wells Fargo Center. Somebody's gonna have
to explain to me just the dynamics there. Like people
(41:47):
just say because the tickets are so much less expensive. Okay,
I understand that, but do people do Philadelphia is just
not have money?
Speaker 4 (41:54):
Right? Or like what about the travel? And I mean
to me that sounds crazy though.
Speaker 2 (42:00):
Is like San Diego to La, but you're still.
Speaker 4 (42:02):
It's still not It's not just money. That's my point,
you know what I'm saying, Like it's not just the
cheaper ticket. You do have to sacrifice in other ways
because it's not down the street.
Speaker 2 (42:12):
Also, another sneaky part about the Philly thing is half
of the Knicks one the college in Philly, So I
think they might have like, you know, late connections, you know,
Jaylen Brunce and Josh Hart all yeah, yeah. Anyway, after
the seventy six years, UH put up a meek fight
(42:33):
against the New York Knicks playing the required four games required. Seriously,
they you know, they've made some changes in Philly. But
right now, Josh Hart was saying, I saw a clip
of this on the Roommates podcast that he does with
Jalen Brunson that he kind of wanted to play. I
felt like the Knicks were in a rhythm. They were
(42:53):
so JB was coming off the ball paraphrasing JB was
coming off the ball, Kat was assifting, and Mike Brown
had found his glasses. So the Knicks were really cooking.
So I ask you, is there such a thing as
the Eastern Conference semi finals not wrapped up yet. We'll
have resolution of that tomorrow afternoon or evening when the
(43:14):
Pistons played the Cavaliers. We'll talk about that game the
next hour of the show. Is there such a thing
as too much rest?
Speaker 4 (43:22):
I think there is, and I think it's dependent on
the team, and I think for the New York Knicks
it can be a real problem the extended rest for
the Knicks. Are we talking about the Kansas City Chiefs,
you know what I'm saying, in the middle of their dynasty,
they probably would handle it differently. But the Knicks are
here knowing that the expectation is to win, not just
(43:45):
make it to the NBA Finals, but to win based
on what happened last year. So just getting to this
is not is it's nothing to them. They are waiting
to get to the finals, and I agree they were.
They were clicking. The first couple of games. The Knicks
were so inconsistent, not even from game to game, but
(44:06):
from quarter to quarter. And one of the things that
has really clicked for them, I agree, is Karl Anthony
Towns dishing that ball. Everything else is working, Everyone's making shots,
and now once you're in a rhythm, you gotta pause
it and you have to replicate it the minute you
get back on the court.
Speaker 3 (44:23):
That's a lot of work.
Speaker 2 (44:26):
And so I do think that there is something to
the rolling, Like guys are in such a rhythm through
the regular season and through the postseason, and I do
think they're like you know, Josh Hart was making the point,
I don't know what to do with myself because I'm
supposed to be I'm supposed to have played a game
by now. I'm supposed to have gotten ready for a
game right now. I think there's ways around it. Like
(44:49):
I think it's completely different in football. Football give me
as much time off as possible. In basketball, I would
have done like a little inner squad scrimmage by now,
Like let's go bump into each other a little bit,
let's get a sweat up, let's let's run around a
little bit, just just to be able to stay lose
and stay fresh. I ultimately do think, though, if for
(45:10):
no other reason, that they have been so dominant do
the first two rounds of the playoffs save the first
three games, uh C. J McCollum had two good games
and that was it against his Knicks team. I think
that they've been playing like either they are the best
team we've ever seen ever, or they're playing above their heads. Yeah,
(45:35):
I'm telling you, I think Detroit wins tomorrow, and I'm
picking the Pistons to beat them in the conference finals.
Speaker 4 (45:43):
I don't know if I would pick that. I don't
know if I'm picking Detroit to win tomorrow either. But
when we get there, we'll off up. I'll figure it out. Yeah, game,
So you know, maybe that's what it is.
Speaker 1 (45:51):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (45:52):
I don't know, but I can't I'm not saying we'll
get there. The Knicks, I agree, they're either playing they're
playing way better than they should be, or this is
honestly like the greatest team, or it can also just
be that they are this is they are on a
on a different ride or on a different level, a
different high this season. I like that you kind of said,
(46:15):
you know, you're right, let's not compare NBA and NFL
because you're right. But if the Knicks were an older team,
this break would be helpful. But the Knicks are not
an old team, and I feel like that's what Josh
Hart is saying.
Speaker 3 (46:28):
Maybe, you know, like Lebron James could absolutely use the time.
Speaker 4 (46:31):
I think the Denver Nuggets absolutely could use the time
the Knicks. No, the Knicks finally tapped into something that
we hadn't seen, and they have to now hold on
to it and bring it back out immediately because whatever
team wins Game seven between Cleveland and Detroit is going
to come out in rhythm, and they're about to go
(46:51):
play a team that hasn't played in how long.
Speaker 2 (46:54):
Rhythm. Offensively, they would love rhythm.
Speaker 3 (46:59):
But they're gonna come, They're gonna come.
Speaker 2 (47:01):
They'll come out I'm not I'm not not disputing your
point out, and they'll come out in the rhythm of
having played.
Speaker 3 (47:09):
It's just not the offense is the New York Knicks.
Speaker 4 (47:12):
Oh for sure, not the offense of the New York
Knicks that we saw again how long ago? I already forgot.
Speaker 2 (47:19):
It's been a while.
Speaker 7 (47:22):
They won on Sunday, so almost a full.
Speaker 3 (47:24):
Week, almost a full week. They've just been chilling.
Speaker 4 (47:27):
And even the.
Speaker 2 (47:27):
Game one of Eastern Conference Finals would be what Tuesday,
I believe, so that Monday. No, they're not going to
play Monday.
Speaker 4 (47:37):
Tuesday because Monday is Spurs And you said, like I would,
I would have them, you know, have a scrimmage and
bump each other a little bit, it's still not the same.
You can try all you want to replicate that, it's
not going to be the same. I hope they're doing
a scrimmage. I hope they're doing that. I hope they're
not just at home chilling. I hope that. But I
don't think you can replicate it. And uh, they better
(47:59):
be on their toes. Better just be.
Speaker 3 (48:02):
It must suck to wait. It's like hurry up and wait.
Speaker 2 (48:05):
You know, I do think that if you are Josh Hart,
you're probably looking at this through the wrong lens in
that I don't know if the Knicks, obviously, I just
picked him to lose to the Pistons in Hestern Conference finals.
I've kind of been consistent with this all year, but
I didn't think that kat Carling any Towns is going
(48:25):
to average like seven assists a game. I know that's
something that is new for me. I didn't change that
into the way I was handicapping S this postseason. But
as I look at it, I still see that team
defensively needs ogn and obi At to be the athlete
that he is, and offensively he was film He's better
(48:49):
than found Money offensively, Like you know what, I saying,
but he like, I don't. I mean, he was shooting
like eighty percent from the field before he got hurt.
I expect that to take a drop back. But on
the wing, especially if they're whoever they're playing, is gonna
have dynamic, big guards that they're gonna have to try
to maneuver against out of the Western Conference og on
(49:10):
the wing somebody, I think they're going to absolutely need
to be at a place where he's effective. So that
week off of the Knicks might just be the blessing
in disguise that Josh Hart's not, you know, not necessarily wanting.
But you know what, sometimes you don't what you want.
Sometimes you want ice cream, you really need broccoli.
Speaker 3 (49:29):
Yeah, yeah, that's what this is.
Speaker 4 (49:31):
The Good thing about the Knicks though, is clearly they
in the last Again, besides the first couple of games
against CJ. McCollum and the Hawks, the Knicks seem to
thrive off of their fans, which is not a shock,
and the fact that their fans travel well, like obviously
I don't know how it's gonna go, whether it's Cleveland
(49:52):
or Detroit. If their fans continue to show up, that's
huge for the Knicks. I feel like they they feed
off of that more than any team this season, maybe
even almost just like the Thunder. I feel like the
Thunder are just so used to their crowd, that's all
they know. But I feel like with the Knicks, it's
like they are really thriving off of that crowd.
Speaker 2 (50:14):
Let's say talk about the crowd for a moment, because
there wasn't one in Philadelphia for the seventy six ers, not.
Speaker 3 (50:20):
At all, and they were trying to give free tickets.
Speaker 2 (50:23):
Daryl Moury fired. I know the wording may not have
said fired, but I'm here to tell you, folks, you
got fired, right Shams Sharani. And now no one ever
gets fired. He's always he's just not going to work
there anymore. M But do you think that if the
seventy six Ers had just lost Game seven that Daryl
(50:46):
Morey would have been fired? Or is it after getting
molly wopped by the seventy six ers, I mean by
the Knicks in the way that they did, and they
see the up and down of Joel embiid to see
to see like the sparkles in the dirt, right, you know,
said the diamonds in the rough, the loh man, that
vj Ed Cobkime is fast, that Maxi Kid is something else.
(51:09):
And then it's like, wait a minute's Paul George fifteen
points in the first quarter and then nothing else.
Speaker 4 (51:14):
It's tough, Martin. That is a great question, and you
know what, I'm here all day. That's a great question.
Speaker 3 (51:19):
I bet you.
Speaker 4 (51:20):
Had they lost to the Celtics, he would not have
been fired because at that point Joelle.
Speaker 3 (51:26):
Embiid wasn't even playing. It was right. He didn't come
back until the second round.
Speaker 2 (51:30):
He finished the Celtics series.
Speaker 4 (51:32):
He finished the Celtics. That's yeah, he finished. He didn't
start it. He didn't start it. He finished it.
Speaker 3 (51:36):
That's what it was.
Speaker 4 (51:37):
But because he wasn't fully healthy, I feel like they
would not have looked at it. They would have just
been like, man, it was unfortunately we played against a
team that has beat us, that is expected to go far.
I don't know if he would have been fired, but
it's everything that happened in the series against the Knicks.
Speaker 3 (51:56):
It was bad.
Speaker 4 (51:57):
It was like you said, they played four games because
that's what was required. Had anyone known, I think we
could have just played one game because I saw the
same thing in all four games I saw anything different,
not from the crowd, not from the team, not from
the coaching aspect of it.
Speaker 3 (52:11):
It just seemed like.
Speaker 4 (52:13):
They exhausted everything in there in there, whether it came
to energy, whether it came to the playbook, whatever, like
they exhausted it all against the Boston It really.
Speaker 2 (52:25):
Baseball, I should say, basketball series playoff series are like
baseball pitchers when you're watching them go one time through
the order, second time through the order, third time through
the order. Eventually even the best pitchers start to crack
a bit. Sure, even the best team start to crack
a bit. The knixt pitch to complete game right time,
(52:49):
the knickt flit's a complete game. Yeah, did strikeouts, no walks? Ah,
that is just like there's no there. There was never
a concern of like, hey, do we need to go
to the bullpen and get the closer out. I don't know.
We're good, We're good. We'll get all twenty seven right
here on this left arm, all right, coming up next.
It is a a style of play versus something we've
(53:11):
never seen before. Debate. It is, you know, a big
moves big time for foreigners too in this Western Conference final.
But it's the Alien birth the Floppers. I'm just kidding.
We'll get into thunder Verse first preview coming up next,
Martin Wise, Mansu Lane's coming to you live from the
(53:33):
Fox Sports Radio Studios. Tell you what Monci. When they
say things like the NBA is fixed, are rigged, I
always laugh because, like, all due respect to the cities,
(53:56):
I'm about to mention, I'm thirty six years old, the
vast majority of my life, the epicenter of the NBA
has been either San Antonio, Texas, Los Angeles for a moment,
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and uhh yeah, those are the three
(54:25):
San Antonio, Oklahoma City, you know, just real vacation hotspots
in Cleveland with Lebron James just you know, when you
are looking at Expedia, those are the first ones that
pop up right when you're trying to book your week
long vacation.
Speaker 4 (54:44):
Right So, I just making it.
Speaker 2 (54:47):
This makes me laugh, Like if it was rigged, like
they knick, we wouldn't be talking about this. This is
the best chance the next had to make the finals
in like twenty years.
Speaker 4 (54:54):
Really though, you know, it's like you would think they
would rig for them, right right.
Speaker 2 (54:58):
So, especially when you're looking at Victor Women Yam in
San Antonio, Shay Yodas Alexander in Oklahoma City, two of
the top whatever players in the league, Shay's top three.
Have you whatever flavor asking me like that day Wenby
might be in your top one if you discount seriously though,
(55:20):
if you if you don't have any of the uh
the accolade driven idea and your thing. If you're like,
if you're one of those people who before Nicola yakus
one of the titles like this is the best player
in the league, you probably got Wemby up there with right, Like,
I like a little side of winning with my best player, dish.
I prefer that I do have a trusty. There's a
(55:44):
lot of people that don't.
Speaker 4 (55:45):
Yes, no, I get it. As a Clipper fan, I
get it.
Speaker 2 (55:47):
But I'm wondering now as we prepare for this Western
Conference final. Sometimes we talk about things we talk about
the second like this draft. For example, everybody knew Fernando
Mendoza was going number one, so it wasn't a discussion.
David Bailey r V L rees. Then we started to
(56:08):
talk about that dude shoots straight up. The Thunder haven't
lost the postseason game since last postseason. Since Game seven
of the NBA Finals, They've yet to lose a postseason game,
and I'm wondering if we have been doing this. Oh man,
the Knicks are so cool. Oh James Harden Game six,
(56:31):
Game seven, is you gonna fail? Oh man? Can you
believe Anthony Everis was shaking hands with eight minutes before
the end of the game. It's all because, like, it's
no fun to say that Oklahoma City might be the
first undefeated team of the postseason. Yeah, and that's once
you have the opinion. Oh you know what, No, they might,
(56:53):
they might not be. Well, you know, Okay, then we
just keep going.
Speaker 4 (56:55):
It's also not fun because I don't a lot of
a lot of people don't like the thunder there very
They're a very polarizing team. You either hate them or
you deal with them. If you are their fan, then
you love them. But they are not loved in ways
that other teams in the past have been loved by
non fans. You know what I'm saying, Like they're different
(57:16):
for some reason.
Speaker 2 (57:17):
Like to your point, when the Minnesota Timberwolves knocked out
the Denver Nuggets this year, the Timberwolves were the winner. Yeah,
Online Oh yeah.
Speaker 3 (57:27):
People were so happy for them. People love Anthony Edwards,
they really do. And I'm not I I like it.
Speaker 9 (57:35):
Was.
Speaker 4 (57:35):
It was because he was rubbing people the wrong way,
especially now because you know the way he plays is
very annoying, even though I do think he's absolutely the
greatest right now, like he's so great anyway, Wemby's great.
There's a lot of great.
Speaker 3 (57:47):
I was gonna say it is rigged because did you.
Speaker 4 (57:49):
See that they accidentally ran a Cleveland Knicks promo this
morning for the Eastern Conference finals. So listen, I'm joking,
but did you see that?
Speaker 2 (57:57):
That's kind of funny I did with what I really
need people to understand. I could hear my voice add
somebody who has paid a lot of rent producing television,
it's a lot. It's very easy to click the wrong button.
Speaker 3 (58:15):
For sure.
Speaker 4 (58:15):
The packages have been done. Yes, the packages have been done.
Somebody did it accidentally. I just thought it was hilarious
that that's what was going with it. Now it is here.
We're in a situation where the thunder are so good
that it's not a fun story. That's what you're hitting at.
(58:36):
You want to hit on the other ones because they're
just so good that it's almost not fun to even
discuss it.
Speaker 2 (58:44):
In journalism school, you learn the difference between what happens
every day and what a story is. Dog bites man
happens every day. That becomes news with the verity of
in which it happens. But a dog bites a man
or woman every single day. Man bites dog is newsworthy.
(59:10):
That doesn't happen every single day, no matter how much
biting was done. We probably got to talk about this. Yes,
the Thunder are dog's biting men. It's about the severity.
It's like, Joe, did you see this pit bull just
kill the man? Did you see the Thunder just won
by fifty It's like, wait, lord, yeah, but if like,
(59:30):
oh yeah, yeah, the Pool will just bit my toe
and another fifteen point thunderwin whatever.
Speaker 4 (59:36):
I actually think after watching the Spurs that the gap
between the Spurs and the Thunder is a lot closer
than I thought. I think prior to the start of
the postseason the playoffs, I still think it's the thunders
Championship to lose. I think the Thunder win this, but
after watching the Spurs during their two first rounds, I
(59:58):
think the Spurs are a lot closer to the thunder
than I was prepared to admit, or maybe everybody else
was prepared to admit. Nobody wants to think that the
Spurs have made this drastic jump because they haven't. You know,
this is what Wenby's thirty year then one year he
had the blood closs real it's really his first full.
So no one is expecting them to actually have made
(01:00:20):
such a big jump. We're always talking about the teams
all you have to lose on your way to winning,
and the Spurs haven't really done that, and so nobody
is taking me. Also, I did not think they were
as close to the thunder as they are.
Speaker 2 (01:00:35):
I don't know if anybody's close to the thunder when
you're breaking them down on paper, but paper, I talk
about this. We talk about this every year on paper.
The teams that are supposed to be great are supposed
to be great, but then they go and play games,
and then it takes eighteen innings to beat the Dodgers
in Game three, right, or it takes seven games for
a Pacers team that wasn't a top one.
Speaker 4 (01:00:58):
Or two seed great one to they pushed.
Speaker 2 (01:01:01):
Seven and if tybes Helibert, nothing hurt in the first quarter,
it might have been a whole different story, right, you
know what I'm saying. But obviously it gets hurt, things
fall apart. Uh. But then the Thunder ended up walking
through that game seven. Uh. That was one of those
I went to the bar for that game and he's like, man,
we could get the ticket a little early here. But
you know, but to the point, it's still it came
(01:01:23):
down to do or die moment. Like the timberwol series
with the Spurs, it was it was over, but it
wasn't no do or die moment. Do you see what
I'm saying? Like the Thunder, the Thunder had a do
or die moment when it came down to it. So
I fully expect while Oklahoma City is a way better
team in my opinion than San Antonio, it don't matter
(01:01:47):
how you win. You could win four games about four
points and lose three games bout thirty. As long as
you win the four about four points. I think this
is going to be a six to seven game series,
and it's just in that moment I would then give
the edge to Oklahoma. But I'm just being completely totally honest.
Most of the time, the s on my chest stands
for straight down the middle. I want san Antonio to win.
Speaker 4 (01:02:09):
I feel like a lot of people would be on
your side. That backcourt of San Antonio can be a
real problem. If Wenby is playing well along with that backcourt,
I think they can absolutely give the Thunder a run
for their money, because it's crazy. You have SGA and
if SGA, if.
Speaker 3 (01:02:27):
You're doubling SGA.
Speaker 4 (01:02:29):
The way the Thunder have had so much success, as
we have sat here and talked about, it has been
their role players, It's been everybody else when SGA dishes
the ball, Because if SGA gets doubled and he dishes
the ball and Oklahoma City scores, then what do you
do next? What else can you possibly do? You can't
add a third person to guard SGA because then you're
leaving another shooter open. You look at San Antonio, it's
(01:02:52):
the same thing. Wemby is who you're worried about. But
you send a double team to Wenby, Chut Holmgren and
someone else. They dish it out to one of their
back core players, whoever it is, whether it's still in
Harper Der and Fox Stefan Castle, they're making those big
shots and now all of a.
Speaker 3 (01:03:07):
Sudden, What are you gonna do?
Speaker 4 (01:03:08):
Okay, see, if you're also trying to you have to
kind of approach them the same way, which is what's crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:03:15):
I'm telling you they're a lot closer. I'm you're right,
Thunder is better.
Speaker 4 (01:03:18):
Thunder is better, but they're a lot closer.
Speaker 2 (01:03:21):
I need, I do need this to happen. If in
fact San Antonio loses this series to the Thunder, it's
okay that win be lost. Please, this is an open
cry to the media, Please do not do what y'all
did with Nicola Jokicch last year was getting bounced out
(01:03:42):
of the postseason and coming back and being like, well,
you know, I know that this team just won the
championship with this guy's the best I've ever seen. Let's
make winning matter, all right. That's where the whole thing
fell apart with Yo Kicch And I don't want to
do that with Limpy.
Speaker 3 (01:03:58):
But Yo Kic did win, you know, like they did win.
Speaker 2 (01:04:01):
But he was determined by the consensus media that he
was the best player in the league and winning multiple
MVPs as he was getting bounced in the first and
second round of the playoffs. And that's why when he
got bounced this time. Everybody was doing a lap of
I told you so, because it was if, in fact,
(01:04:24):
you're comparing this guy to freaking Shock and all these
other great players, there's a certain level of winning that
has to come along with that, and that is Okay, Wemby,
if he does, in fact lose this, we'll not have one,
but two playoffs series. Yeah, okay, we should just keep
I'm I'm just begging people, the police keep in perspective
(01:04:46):
that the boy has won eight playoff games thus far.
Speaker 4 (01:04:49):
Yeah, I'm with you.
Speaker 2 (01:04:50):
You know what else is with us? That's Steve the Sayer.
Speaker 10 (01:04:54):
Whoop Shaquille O'Neal with a master's degree received at LSU.
But hasty congratulations to him.
Speaker 3 (01:05:02):
That's a shock.
Speaker 10 (01:05:03):
Also in the NHL playoffs, Montreal Canadians at home tonight
scored three goals on their first three shots on goal.
Speaker 4 (01:05:09):
Oh really, that is man bites.
Speaker 2 (01:05:11):
Dog, That is definitely dog.
Speaker 10 (01:05:15):
They're the first playoff team since at least twenty ten
to do that. So they had a three to one
lead at home after only about ten minutes placegoing nuts.
They're already up three games to two in this second
round series against Buffalo Sabers pulled their starting goalie and
Buffalo has come back to tie the game. It's three
to three second period, about twelve minutes to go in
(01:05:35):
the second, Buffalo is out shooting them twenty one to nine.
Speaker 2 (01:05:39):
At this point.
Speaker 10 (01:05:41):
Carolina had swept Philadelphia last Saturday. It has been hanging
around kind of like in the NBA. Oklahoma City swept
the Lakers last Monday. Nick's last Sunday swept Philadelphia. Game
one of the West Final is Monday, Spurs at Thunder.
Game one of the East Final Tuesday. The NBA does
have a second round game seven tomorrow, Eveland at Detroit.
(01:06:01):
The WNBA off today four games for them on Sunday.
The Steelers re signed quarterback Aaron Rodgers, agreeing to a
one year deal reportedly worth twenty two million dollars plus incentives.
The Steelers host green Bay in their first exhibition in
mid August. Rogers head coach now is officially Mike McCarthy
X of green Bay. To the Major League Baseball Scoreboard,
(01:06:23):
the White Sox lead the Cubs eight to one in
the eighth inning. Houston for to one over Texas in
the top of the ninth to the seventh inning on
Fox TV for much of the country, met still leading
the Yankees five to two. Tampa Bay already lost in
ten innings today ten to five to Miami. The Rays
are the first place team in the Al East. There
were two games over the Yanks to start the day.
(01:06:45):
Padres leads seven to two at Seattle, bottom of the
eighth inning. Dodgers at Angels about to begin. The Dodger
news today that lefty Blake Snell, who could not start
last night, will in fact next week have elbow surgery.
They expected to return this season. At the PGA Championship,
Alex Smalley of the US leads by two strokes. John
(01:07:06):
ram is in a five way tie for second place.
Rory McElroy is three shots back after a third round
sixty six. He had shot seventy four in round one.
The Preakness was won by Napoleon Solo at seven to
one odds. Iron Honor finished second fourteen horse field in Maryland.
The Kentucky Derby winner did not race today, nor did
the runner up from two weeks ago. Coco Golf was
(01:07:28):
beaten in the French Excuse Me Italian Open Final. The
French Open tune up the event in Paris. Starts in
a week Elinas, Fidelina, Today's winner in the final in Rome.
Golf lost the final in Rome. A year goes well.
Speaker 7 (01:07:40):
A reminder.
Speaker 10 (01:07:41):
NASCAR's on FS one again Sunday, Fox's final Cup series
telecast of the year, the All Star Race at Dover
one pm Eastern Time.
Speaker 2 (01:07:50):

(01:08:10):
it'll always pop up right at the top of your screen. Moncey,
let's go ahead and do it again, going once, going twice,
Going soul by or so NFL.
Speaker 7 (01:08:18):
All, that's right, Let's continue on some more teams. I'm
gonna tell you what they've done so far this offseason.
If you are their most noteworthy move, and you're gonna
tell me whether you are buying or selling it so far.
So next up the Arizona Cardinals. They have hired new
head coach Mike Laflour, previously the offensive coordinator for the Rams.
They drafted running back Jeremiah Love with the third overall
(01:08:39):
pick in the draft, and they moved on from quarterback
Kyler Murray, taking a massive dead cap hit in the process. So, Moncey,
are you buying or selling the Cardinals offseason?
Speaker 3 (01:08:49):
So far, there's no reason for me to buy. I'm
going to sell.
Speaker 4 (01:08:53):
I watch shop and it's just impossible for me to
forget how the Cardinals played live last year, where they
were up in games and then it would just they
would just.
Speaker 3 (01:09:05):
Unravel in the second half.
Speaker 4 (01:09:07):
So I don't expect a jump from three games to
three wins to seven wins. Maybe they can get four
or five wins. But because of that, I'm selling.
Speaker 2 (01:09:19):
Yeah, I'm selling. I like Jeremiah Love, and I am
a proponent of draft thing monnybacks in the first round.
I think it's not the worst thing that you can
possibly do, you know. But I will say the thing
I am most concerned about is I read Mike Silver's
book The Why Is Everything, which focuses on like the
Lafloor McVeigh relationship in Washington and how it all spills
(01:09:42):
out It's a great read if you're interested in the NFL.
Especially this iteration of the NFL is a great time capsule.
But in that book, Mike Lafleur is like the kid
picking up trash off the floor because he's like the intern.
I can't shake it. I can't shake the vision, and
I just wonder how far down does it go? Right?
It might be diminishing returns here. Maybe he knows how
(01:10:04):
to beat all of them and those other tricks, or
maybe big Brother and Big Brother's friends continue to beat
up a little brother.
Speaker 7 (01:10:12):
Next up, the Denver Broncos. Noteworthy moves they've made so
far this offseason. They traded for wide receiver Jalen Waddle
from the Dolphins. That was her first round pick. They
drafted running back Jonah Coleman out of the University of Washington,
and they lost defensive lineman John Franklin Myers in free
agency to the Titans. So are you buying or selling
the Broncos offseason, Martin?
Speaker 2 (01:10:34):
I'm buying the offseason. I'm selling the first three weeks
of the year. I am not a scheduled guy. I'm
not a scheduled guy. I really truly not. But when
I saw that, I was like, oh, my god, they
have a murderers row for the first three if they win,
if they finished like five and one through the first
six weeks of the season, congratulations that team is winning
(01:10:55):
the division, because Lord have mercy, it is Monsi's looking
at it now. You're bigger and bigger and bigger as
each team comes up.
Speaker 4 (01:11:04):
Yeah, I did not know that that's how they I
knew Week one was against the Chiefs, but you.
Speaker 3 (01:11:09):
Know, I'm buying. Buy how much I'm buying, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:11:17):
But I do like the addition of Jalen Waddle for
bo Nicks, and I know he's coming off an injury
not as severe as other injuries, so I was gonna
say I don't trust him the first couple of weeks
because of the injury.
Speaker 3 (01:11:30):
Had no idea that the schedule was that tough.
Speaker 4 (01:11:32):
You were right. If they get if they come out
of the first six weeks three and three.
Speaker 2 (01:11:36):
I'll be like, oh, they're going to be a problem
if they because it's not only proof of concept, it's
a good team, but it's also the record.
Speaker 4 (01:11:43):
The record. Yeah, but I'm buying for now.
Speaker 3 (01:11:45):
I'm into it.
Speaker 7 (01:11:46):
Next up, the Houston Texans things they've done this off season.
They extended star pass rusher Will Anderson, making him the
highest paid non quarterback in the NFL. They signed running
back David Montgomery in free agency formally with the Lions.
And they drafted offensive guard Keelan Rutledge in the first round.
So based off of that stuff and any others you
want to throw in, Moncie, are you buying or selling
(01:12:06):
the Texans offseason?
Speaker 3 (01:12:07):
Call me crazy.
Speaker 4 (01:12:08):
I'm buying crazy, Thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:12:10):
I'll tell you why.
Speaker 4 (01:12:12):
We have seen c J.
Speaker 3 (01:12:14):
Stroud be really good and we have seen CJ. Stroud
be really bad.
Speaker 4 (01:12:20):
So by just balance of life, I assume we're gonna
get up decent season at worst from c J.
Speaker 3 (01:12:27):
Stroud. I don't there's no way he's gonna be just
as bad. I think he's gonna.
Speaker 4 (01:12:31):
Find the middle ground and the Texans were right there,
so if he can just play a little bit better,
Houston does not want to scoff at. I'm buying.
Speaker 2 (01:12:40):
I'm selling. I didn't believe in this team all last year,
but now I do. I something about the way to
end to the season. I like the way to end
to the postseason. Liam Cohen, the first year we seems
to me to be a little spotty, but I think
(01:13:02):
that that's a team on the rise. And I'm looking
at the Texans. I think that they are gonna plaateau
kind of right where they're at, But that means Jacksonville
leap frogs. Though.
Speaker 7 (01:13:12):
Curious what you guys have to say about this one.
The Kansas City Chiefs. They have signed running back Kenneth Walker,
reigning Super Bowl MVP, traded corner Trent McDuffie to the
Rams it's a first team All Pro, and traded up
to draft corner Mansour Delane out of LSU and as
another extra, I'll say they also drafted defensive end R
(01:13:32):
Mason Thomas in the second round. So are you buying
or selling the Chiefs offseason so far?
Speaker 2 (01:13:36):
Martin, I am buying. As long as Patrick Mahomes feels
back healthy, I am buying. And especially like dudes, I
would like them to address more weapons. But the biggest
problem kids, they can't run the ball. Kenneth Walker is
probably overpaid at fourteen million dollars, I think on the
free agent market, But like when you need a car,
(01:13:59):
you just buy the car you can get, and I
think he was the best car that they could get.
Speaker 4 (01:14:04):
That was a nice weapon. But that's why I'm kind
of stuck, and I kind of want to hold because.
Speaker 3 (01:14:08):
I don't know about their wide receiver room.
Speaker 4 (01:14:11):
I don't know how much I trust them to be
honest with you, let alone what they're doing off the field.
Speaker 3 (01:14:15):
I'm just talking about on the field.
Speaker 4 (01:14:17):
I don't know if I can trust them, And obviously
question surrounding Patrick Mahomes's health and like it seems as
though everyone thinks he's gonna be ready for a week
one week to two primetime games, like we're expected to
see him out there.
Speaker 3 (01:14:29):
But I want to hold, don't.
Speaker 4 (01:14:31):
I don't know. I don't trust that wide receiver room.
Speaker 2 (01:14:35):
Coming up next, let's go ahead and play. What's that sound?
Did you hear that?
Speaker 4 (01:14:39):
He would? Yeah? I did?
Speaker 2 (01:14:43):
All right, I play a game. But what's that sound?
Did you hear that? Coming up next? Comes you lying
from the Fox Sports Radio studios on Martin Weiss with
Mancy balaos He. You can tweet us if you'd like.
I'm at Martin Wise. He's at mon Suplanols Shocker. Kyle
(01:15:04):
Gilman would like to share ant Man is still him?
Hashtag Wolves back hashtag Wolve's back home.
Speaker 4 (01:15:12):
Yeah, I was like, but they're not back. They're not back.
Speaker 2 (01:15:16):
I tell you, I don't remember who the first person
to put the little slogan on the shooting shirts and
all like that. For the postseason. I feel like it
was a March madness thing a few years back, like
when Michigan won the National championship. Uh are I've broken
that in my brain when Michigan lost the National Championship
to Louisville, which was eventually vacated by Rick Patino, and
(01:15:38):
it's cheating itself. The shooting shirt said.
Speaker 3 (01:15:42):
We on on.
Speaker 2 (01:15:44):
It's like we on what Wolve's back where. Let's play
a game, all right?
Speaker 7 (01:15:52):
So for this game, it's actually been like a year
since we've played this, so counting on a lot of
a lot of these being forgotten by you guys. But say,
I think it's been long enough. So we're guessing I
don't know, gona memory like a steel track. Well we'll
see that. But we're guessing teams based off of sound bites.
So I have a bunch of sound bites here that
sam Iowa sam our buddy is going to play for us,
(01:16:12):
and you guys are going to have the job of
guessing what team, whether it be football or basketball. So
it's NFL and NBA teams that each one of these
corresponds to. So we'll start with this one as an example.
Speaker 4 (01:16:23):
I feel like this stressed me out the last time.
Speaker 2 (01:16:26):
All right?
Speaker 4 (01:16:34):
Is that the sound?
Speaker 2 (01:16:35):
So? Okay? So at first, at first I thought I
was gonna say that is this supposed to be the jazz?
Speaker 7 (01:16:41):
The music made a little confusing.
Speaker 2 (01:16:43):
That we probably should have had the music a little
bit earlier.
Speaker 3 (01:16:46):
I know what this is now, you know what this is?
Speaker 4 (01:16:50):
What the heck is this?
Speaker 7 (01:16:52):
You know what it is?
Speaker 2 (01:16:55):
This is the Los Angeles charges.
Speaker 7 (01:16:56):
And is the Los Angeles charges.
Speaker 4 (01:17:00):
You get there?
Speaker 2 (01:17:00):
That is one thousand percent the noise that your phone
makes when you plug it in, a few years ago,
not this phone charger, not this edition of the phone,
but a few years back that.
Speaker 7 (01:17:11):
Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 4 (01:17:12):
I like that. I was never gonna get there.
Speaker 3 (01:17:14):
I was like, it's a notification of your teams.
Speaker 4 (01:17:17):
Yes, you're right. When I think of the chargers, I
think that sound. Okay, I get it. That was good.
Speaker 3 (01:17:22):
Okay, see I did get stressed.
Speaker 4 (01:17:23):
I'm got a trussed on.
Speaker 7 (01:17:25):
You got the actual next sound here we go.
Speaker 4 (01:17:29):
Obviously it's a shot made all right.
Speaker 2 (01:17:32):
Yeah, that's correct.
Speaker 4 (01:17:33):
Okay, you do.
Speaker 2 (01:17:36):
We want to do this me verse Monsie, because I
would have nailed that one as well.
Speaker 4 (01:17:41):
I need. I mean, if we're gonna, you're gonna, you
could go, you.
Speaker 2 (01:17:44):
Could go, you could be me.
Speaker 7 (01:17:46):
I think it'd be funny if you both gave a guess.
You both have to give it faster.
Speaker 4 (01:17:51):
I take the scenic round.
Speaker 7 (01:17:52):
All right, So you got nuts, you got chargers. Let's
go to the third sound.
Speaker 2 (01:17:57):
Clippers.
Speaker 7 (01:18:00):
But you can say you have the answer, and then
Monsey has the answer. Next sound, expect guys, think you
know that one?
Speaker 2 (01:18:13):
Oh? I know it now?
Speaker 1 (01:18:15):
I think?
Speaker 3 (01:18:16):
I mean, I could guess it.
Speaker 7 (01:18:18):
Okay, Monci, what's your guess?
Speaker 4 (01:18:19):
The magic?
Speaker 7 (01:18:20):
No, that's a good guess.
Speaker 2 (01:18:22):
Okay, well honestly, that's your count. That's your count. It's
the wizards.
Speaker 4 (01:18:29):
Okay, got it, we got it, all right?
Speaker 7 (01:18:35):
Next sound he loves its correct, but again, just say
you have.
Speaker 4 (01:18:42):
The answer, all right?
Speaker 7 (01:18:50):
Next up.
Speaker 4 (01:18:55):
Played again, played again?
Speaker 2 (01:18:57):
How do you play seven expector patrons in this? Once?
I don't know. I had no clue. The springs sounds like.
Speaker 7 (01:19:07):
A SPRONZI you guessed it, you guessed it for the
expected patronum one the magic correct.
Speaker 4 (01:19:15):
It does sound like something's appearing.
Speaker 7 (01:19:17):
You guys think that's better for magic or expecting patronum
is a better one for magic?
Speaker 2 (01:19:20):
Probably expected patron.
Speaker 7 (01:19:23):
Fair enough? All right, next time.
Speaker 4 (01:19:32):
I got it?
Speaker 2 (01:19:33):
I got it too, that's all right? Say it together?
Speaker 7 (01:19:34):
Yeah, good one, next one?
Speaker 2 (01:19:43):
Oh, I remember this one for the last time, and
I was annoyed with it.
Speaker 7 (01:19:49):
Yeah, this one's tough. I am this is.
Speaker 2 (01:19:57):
You're you're you're selling me that this is a pick
act striking rock.
Speaker 4 (01:20:01):
No, yes, so what would it be?
Speaker 2 (01:20:05):
I think it's the Nuggets. I remember being upset when
he told me what this one was the last to
take that bean coming out of the air.
Speaker 4 (01:20:14):
I even know, like, yeah, I don't have no idea
what the Steelers.
Speaker 7 (01:20:18):
There's a steam at the end.
Speaker 2 (01:20:22):
That's a bad one.
Speaker 1 (01:20:24):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio Cleveland.
Speaker 2 (01:20:29):
This one wasn't for you, Martin one hour last until
our national tyranny of foxtrots radio is over. Just kidding,
you're having show MONSI And if you subscribe to the
(01:20:50):
Fox Rot Radio YouTube channel, you can see Monzi's clipper shirt.
Yeah she's wearing today.
Speaker 3 (01:20:55):
Felt appropriate. There was no NBA, you know, felt appropriate.
Speaker 2 (01:21:00):
You search Fox Sports Radio on YouTube see all of
our best videos from all the shows. Don't stop there,
hit the thumbs icon, thumbs up.
Speaker 3 (01:21:08):
Icon, thumbs up icon.
Speaker 2 (01:21:09):
Easy for me to say, let us know whose takes
you like and even who takes you don't. Just search
Fox Sports Radio on YouTube and subscribed. No truth to
the rumors that Monty Beilano is single handedly taking over
the Fox Shorts Radio YouTube page. There's just been a
lot of filling with ju Gotts has been you know,
cough coughs the gout out of the areas. I saw
a picture of Steve Cavino in Japan. It's the time
(01:21:33):
change makes it hard to do the show right. So
Monsy admirably been filling in alongside Dan Bayer throughout the week.
So it's it's a lot of her up there, but
you know, so get up there and go check it out.
Great job, thanks Dan, Great job on airbnb.
Speaker 4 (01:21:50):
On Airbnb.
Speaker 2 (01:21:51):
Hey, we have a second most of the time, Sham
is there as well.
Speaker 3 (01:21:53):
It is true. Sam was a part of all the shows.
Speaker 12 (01:21:56):
Me and mons have been doing shows together for like
two weeks now, two weeks straight.
Speaker 2 (01:22:00):
Great.
Speaker 3 (01:22:00):
We wore Caitlin Clark Iowa shirts together.
Speaker 2 (01:22:02):
I saw that. Yeah, I saw that. And who do
you think has been a rougher for the last weeks,
Moncey or our eye with Sam as they've had to
work together.
Speaker 7 (01:22:12):
I don't know. That's pretty tough for Sam. Moncey's Monty's
a tough hang.
Speaker 2 (01:22:15):
I mean I.
Speaker 12 (01:22:16):
Did have I had a bad day, but it was
like everyone piling on me. This was like a week
from last Thursday, and we had just done Stu Gotts
and then, like I told them in the and the
change over from the show, I was like, thank God goodness,
we're changing the turning the page to you guys.
Speaker 7 (01:22:32):
I'm a little stressed out.
Speaker 12 (01:22:33):
And then for the rest of the show, Moncey and
Dan and Jason were like, say, I'm stressed out. They
kept saying. It just made my attitude continue to go downhill.
So but otherwise it's been fun.
Speaker 2 (01:22:42):
I have to say I just shut out Sam though,
because it was it Wednesday, I'm scheduled to do the update.
It's fifty seven. I'm on in three minutes, realized I
left my headphones in the car. Nice I opened the
door to the updates dude on the show head bob headphone.
(01:23:02):
Then I closed the door, so I figured, I'm you know, hey,
I'm gonna have to you know. They say, like, you know,
you've raw a dog to fly, and.
Speaker 4 (01:23:09):
I'm sure you got through it right? Did you time it? Well?
Speaker 2 (01:23:12):
I'll say this ninety seconds later, with the softest knock
ever at the update on the update door, who is
it but Sam with some headphones?
Speaker 4 (01:23:22):
Sam?
Speaker 2 (01:23:26):
That pretty much was exactly how I held it. And
Sam came through. You came through it to the softest
knock ever and said, did you say you need some medphones? Yes?
Right now? In fact, right all right. So the Cavaliers
had a chance to close this Pistons team out in six.
(01:23:47):
They are now the second team with an opportunity to
close the Pistons out, and those teams are not oh
for two. The Magic had three chances GAVs with won
this most recent time, and I'm here to tell you
I think they blew it. And when I look at
this series, I understand all of the platitudes you'll have
(01:24:11):
to say about Detroit. They don't have a good enough offense.
Tobias Harris if he's not scoring twenty points. The spacing
is Asar Thompson actually sometimes feels like he scores for
the other team on offense, right, Like you know, it's
like it's very hard to play, there's no spacing. Kay
Cunningham dribbles the ball off his shoelace. I get it all.
(01:24:34):
But this also was a It took a tying of
a second a playoff record by Donovan Mitchell to get
one of these wins. And it took Evan Mobley having
a moment that I honestly, I think the GM of
the Cavaliers was like, really, dude, now, after all this time,
(01:24:55):
after all this money, now you show up. All right, thanks,
But it's like, you know, Evan Mobley had that moment.
It came from behind, which completely masked a bad down
the stretch. James hard game. I know he had thirty
in Game six.
Speaker 4 (01:25:06):
I agree. I don't think it was good the scyess.
Speaker 3 (01:25:09):
I'm with you.
Speaker 2 (01:25:09):
The last five minutes of that thirty was ugly. Yeah, okay,
especially some of the flops. I think that Detroit has
shown through the series again, individual game by game basis,
Cleveland's gonna get some. They have really good offensive players
when everything is clicking, Detroit to me just seems head
and shoulders better than this team, the same way that
Minnesota are, the same way that San Antonio was head
(01:25:32):
and shoulders better than Minnesota is. In game by game basis,
you might have shot if Donovan Mitchell goes for thirty
nine in the second half, or if Evan Mobley has
seven points in ninety seconds in the fourth quarter of
force overtime in a game where the spacing for the
Pistons Doctor Robinson doesn't play. But as long as they
have a semblance of spacing on the floor, I just
(01:25:56):
think the Pistons is gonna win this game. The story's
gonna be Donovan Mitchell, James Harden yet again can't get
through the second round.
Speaker 4 (01:26:03):
I do not think that the Pistons are head and
shoulders better than the Cavaliers.
Speaker 3 (01:26:08):
I don't see it like that.
Speaker 4 (01:26:10):
I think the Pistons are really good, and I think
Kate Cunningham is.
Speaker 3 (01:26:13):
Probably the best player on that court.
Speaker 4 (01:26:16):
But I said this before, I think he does too much.
And the fact that the Pistons had to go to
overtime was that Game five, Game.
Speaker 3 (01:26:32):
Six was overtime. They were up.
Speaker 4 (01:26:35):
Nine points with like three minutes to go and.
Speaker 3 (01:26:39):
They let it slip.
Speaker 4 (01:26:40):
So I think the Detroit has had a lot of games,
a lot of moments where.
Speaker 3 (01:26:45):
The flaws are there.
Speaker 4 (01:26:46):
And of course, if Tobias Harris isn't making shots, if
Jalen Duran isn't doing anything, it obviously doesn't open up
the situation for Kate Cunningham. And that's the case with
all the teams. With all teams, how are the supporting
casts going to support your main player or your main
two players? That is what it's gonna come down to.
(01:27:08):
So how is Caid going to get the support? Gay
five was overtime, Okay, whatever we got there.
Speaker 3 (01:27:14):
He's seen it, crowd. The point was that they blew it.
Speaker 4 (01:27:17):
They blew it recently, We've seen it happen. But it's
gonna come down to who is going to get the
more the most support. Is it gonna be Kid Cunningham
from his teammates, or is it gonna be Donovan Mitchell
and James Harden from their teammates, or you canna say
Donovan Mitchell and James Harden. Is James Harden gonna come
out and play?
Speaker 3 (01:27:33):
I don't know. He had eight turnovers in Game six.
Speaker 4 (01:27:36):
That is not gonna work in Game seven on the
road in Detroit, where James Harden does not play well,
not just in game sevens, but on the road when
it gets late in the series. That's typically it starts
with game five and you just don't even know what
you're gonna get for those last couple of games.
Speaker 3 (01:27:52):
But I think Caid does too much.
Speaker 4 (01:27:55):
I think so much is required of him offensive defensively.
He has to have an almost near perfect game where
we've seen the Pistons lose, where he has a near
perfect game, and then you have a game where you
see the Cavaliers win because everything works, or they win
because at least one person made it work.
Speaker 3 (01:28:16):
The Cavs, to me, have a little.
Speaker 4 (01:28:18):
Bit more of a balance when it comes to their
offense compared to the Pistons. So that's why I don't
think Detroit is that much better if they're probably better,
but not by a lot.
Speaker 3 (01:28:29):
Now, obviously it's game seven, so logic, right.
Speaker 4 (01:28:32):
Logic goes out the door typically with Game seven, but
it is in Detroit, and I don't I think Kid
Cunningham has to do too much. I really am leaning
towards the Cavaliers pulling this upset off which would be
crazy to think. But I don't trust. I don't trust
(01:28:55):
Cleveland either, I really don't. But I just think they're
a little bit more balanced. If if James Harden is
not playing well, Donovan Mitchell can take over. If Kate
Cunningham is not playing well, he can't. He has to,
he has to figure it out.
Speaker 2 (01:29:10):
I just expect. I don't think he's played Kate, save
the two games three and four of this series, I
don't think he's played poorly. He does have some really
bad turnovers and turnovers that are really in the game
six and overtime the game in the game five, right
of the game to wins overtime, that was a terrible
(01:29:31):
turnover that he had u Max Struce ripping him in
the in the back court.
Speaker 4 (01:29:37):
Why Donovan scored five points in ten seconds that one.
Speaker 2 (01:29:41):
A big part of the reason why is because the
ball never passed a free throw lof right, you know,
Shruce ripped him and stole the ball, saved it, kicked
it to Mitchell. He hit his second three of the night,
and that's something like that. But that's what I'm saying.
It's like I'm looking at Donovan Mitchell. I'm looking at
James Hard and I'm like, these are the guys that
I'm supposed to be worried about that can Assistency's not
there for me. I think the Pistons can win this
(01:30:03):
game as long as and I think you got does
that game six? You got right there? How many minutes
did Marcus Sasser plays off the bench? I think they've
found something because that's so much of the postseason is
who can I play? And it's the NBA, so like
(01:30:26):
it's there's not guys on the bench that can't hoop,
right like everybody can hoop. It's a lot it's about matchups.
Like Terrence Shannon Jr. For Minnesota couldn't get off the
bench after he got back from injury all of a sudden.
I think Evencenza goes down and he becomes a key
rotational piece for them because he could play and he
was a good matchup for them in certain spots, right
(01:30:48):
Like Marcus Sasser to me, gives the Pistons some backup
ball handling that they don't have or weren't utilizing consistently
with K Cunning And it took JB. Bickerstaff, I don't
know eleven postseason games to kind of see that, and
he's also making the move with Paul Reid to you know,
(01:31:11):
bench Jalen Duran. But he did take them all the
way on the fourth quarter of overtime in that game,
and I thought Durran actually responded, I don't have his numbers.
You got his numbers right in front of in front
of you. But just in terms of his assertiveness to
the basket, put the ball on the floor a few times,
looked like he wasn't afraid to go to the free
throw line. That's what I think was just missing from
(01:31:32):
his game, one of the things that was missing from
his game. And if he can get that back, that
gives me a cost for maybe he don't go all okay,
doesn't have to carry the whole thing by himself.
Speaker 4 (01:31:43):
I can jump on that ship with you, Jalen. During
twenty seven minutes, fifteen points and eleven rebounds, I feel
like the Cavs interior defense is is a hole in
their game plan and if Jalen Duran can get in
there and cause a little bit of disruption that I
think can help Pistons so much. The interior defense in Cleveland,
(01:32:07):
I think is the way to go and win that
game because of Cleveland.
Speaker 5 (01:32:11):
People say they got too bigs. What they really got
is too tall. Yeah, I'm with you, they got too tall. Yeah,
Jared Allen, is it tall? Is it Tallan mob is
a tall? Is it tall? You say like that Holmgren
is a tall correct?
Speaker 2 (01:32:26):
Jayalen Duran is a.
Speaker 4 (01:32:27):
Big I would say Sarr Thompson is a big.
Speaker 2 (01:32:30):
Well, he sure shoots threes like one. Yeah, I tell
you that's I'm forgetting this text a lot. I'll go
behind the curtain here. Jason McIntyre and I work together
every day and he's picked against the Pistons every step
of the way. And I have picked the Pistons every
step of the way from the All Star break mind you.
(01:32:53):
So like we've been at this for a while.
Speaker 4 (01:32:55):
Oh man, I regret my decision saying the Caves because
he's just taking the Cavs.
Speaker 2 (01:32:59):
Care will you agree with? And I have. He has
texted me at every point of dire need for the
Pistons and said, how do you fix the Pistons? First
of all, I think they're gonna win this game. But secondly,
there's a very easy fix for the Detroit Pistons. Asar
Thompson make a basket challenge. Yeah, just shoot the ball
(01:33:24):
and put it in the basket more than you miss.
A little mid range. A little bit of mid range
in my life would be lovely for a sar Thompson.
I don't even need the long range.
Speaker 4 (01:33:35):
No, there's a little bit of mid range, and it
seems like it's there, like it's I like him, I
like his play. I feel like there's so there's there's
untapped potential there.
Speaker 3 (01:33:46):
When it comes to his offensive game, he's.
Speaker 2 (01:33:48):
The second best of Oh of the hell Yeah, he's
the second best defender in the postseason by metrics and
just by watching. Because part of the reasons seriously watching
Victor weinbin Yama half people who are six' five and
up be, LIKE i don't THINK i want to go
try to lay the ball. Up i'm gonna turn around
(01:34:09):
and go the other. Way i'm Watching James, harden WHO
i know ever so often it looks like The monstars
just sapped his. Talent But i'm Watching Theasar thompson Just
e Race First Battle hall Of. Famer i'm Watching Theasar
Thompson E. Race, say for one, Half Donovan, mitchell who
(01:34:32):
is a known while you can't get to the second
has it gone to the conference. Finals it's not for
lack of.
Speaker 3 (01:34:38):
Scoring he's a bucket. Geter ain't for lack of.
Speaker 2 (01:34:40):
Scorn i'm. Watching it's just eraser and it's just, like,
DUDE i Saw Jenny fry say. This if he was a,
cornerback he'd Be hall Of. Fame the only problem is
you got to catch. Passes speaking of THE nfl released its, schedule,
well all thirty two teams did their little slick, videos
(01:35:02):
our thirty one teams and The cardinals did slick. Videos
The cardinals, did BUT i don't Think apparently everybody. Hated
but it has us wondering could last year's wonder kids
be falling out of. Favor it's to a. Next Martin,
Wis Monsey Blino's Fox Sports radio comes to you live
(01:35:24):
from The Fox Sports radio. Studios you can follow us
On twitter and tweet the. Shaw i'm At Martin, Weiss
moncey's At moncey here for about another half, hour keeping
the season one For aaron To oris And Jason. Martin
that's how at walk in here a minute. AGO i
know he's in the back getting his notes. Together pair
(01:35:44):
to take you the rest of the way on This saturday,
Night so, moncey you, know And ian told ME i
have to tell you this off the, air AND i
didn't do. IT i don't like THE nfl schedule. RELEASE
i don't like.
Speaker 3 (01:35:59):
It you don't like the schedule that was, released or you.
Speaker 2 (01:36:02):
Don't like the concept of THE. Nfl, okay? GOTCHA i
think that it hit one time when they did that
like walking In nashville thing with The Tennessee, titans.
Speaker 3 (01:36:14):
Which they kind of did again this.
Speaker 7 (01:36:15):
YEAR i, mean and it was.
Speaker 4 (01:36:17):
Funny you, know it was.
Speaker 2 (01:36:19):
Funny you know. What i'll have to take your word for.
Speaker 4 (01:36:21):
It you didn't see.
Speaker 2 (01:36:23):
It and not only DID i not see it us
things DID i go out of my way to? Avoid,
yeah this is one one of. Them because ALSO i
find that this scheduled release does very little for me
in terms of who's going to, play who, went and
(01:36:44):
that's primarily WHAT i used the schedule. For so LIKE i,
Didn't i'm not watching eight minutes Of halo to see
who The week nine opponent, Is, Dude i'm definitely, not you,
KNOW i take that. BACK i watched about forty five
seconds of The cardinals because they said it was so
bad that it had to be, seen AND i it
(01:37:06):
just reinforced my feeling of because that's all about ten
seconds of The chargers.
Speaker 4 (01:37:11):
Were, Yeah chargers is the.
Speaker 2 (01:37:14):
Best ever and The cardinals is the. Worst AND i was, like,
dude this feels like eighty seven to eighty four in
terms of, Degrees, LIKE i don't, know it doesn't feel
that much.
Speaker 4 (01:37:24):
DIFFERENT i don't need. It some of them are, fun
but most of them are. Not AND i think that's
what people need to, realize, like not every team needs
to do, this especially if it's gonna. Suck i'm so with.
YOU i didn't See Arizona's.
Speaker 3 (01:37:38):
CHARGERS i don't Play.
Speaker 4 (01:37:39):
Halo that's my.
Speaker 2 (01:37:40):
Team they've been blamed AND i was, like, oh The
cardinals have been accused of USING.
Speaker 4 (01:37:44):
Ai, okay, good, okay, hey, Okay i'm not even bothered by.
That then that's it's disappointing that it sucked and that
they USED. Ai maybe stop USING ai and get creative
with real. People but The chargers that's my. TEAM i
don't Play, Halo so for, me it was very underwhelming
AND i. COULDN'T i don't even THINK i got through.
It and THEN i went back to it to see
what they did against The, patriots.
Speaker 3 (01:38:05):
And THEN i was, like, okay that's not.
Speaker 4 (01:38:07):
Okay i'm moving. ON i was not into. It there
are some that were. Funny at one was The. SIMPSONS
i think that was The cults like that one was.
FUNNY i thought The cowboys one was. Funny they FaceTime
people and they just wouldn't, move like it was Like Jerry,
Jones Dak, prescott a, mascot a, cheerleader somebody else was,
there and so they would call people on FaceTime and
(01:38:29):
the people answering was Like Kay, adams who's A bengals.
Speaker 3 (01:38:31):
Fan so they were trying to tell you they were
gonna play The, bengals and.
Speaker 4 (01:38:33):
Then Kay adams would answer and she was, like, hello
what's going on? Here they Called megatron and it was
like and they wouldn't, move which was a bit years.
Speaker 3 (01:38:40):
Ago it was something that was being done when you.
Facetimed some of them were.
Speaker 4 (01:38:45):
Funny The eagles had players together AND i saw that
it was thirteen. MINUTES i was, Like i'm not watching.
Speaker 3 (01:38:49):
This i'm not watching thirteen.
Speaker 4 (01:38:50):
Minutes Of Saquon barkley And Jalen hurts opening envelopes.
Speaker 3 (01:38:54):
To tell me who they're.
Speaker 4 (01:38:55):
Playing i'm not watching thirteen minutes of.
Speaker 13 (01:38:57):
This this is one of the things things That i've
determined BECAUSE i truly try not to have the sports
take of oh sports think as a sports. Guy, yeah
And i've just realized that some things are for the
fan who has a real.
Speaker 2 (01:39:12):
Job Like i'm not the fan with a real, job,
Right i'm the fan with a fake job that my
whole job revolves around. Sports like WHEN covid happened and
there was no more, SPORTS i was, like, wait, wait
LIKE i don't there's nothing to. Do this is what that's. For,
like this is for the guy who's A jets fan
(01:39:33):
who goes to, work he wears a tie every day
with his, briefcase and he comes home and he's got
two and a half kids hanging from either, elbow and
he's got like seven minutes to Ingest jets content.
Speaker 4 (01:39:45):
For the day in an entertaining.
Speaker 7 (01:39:48):
Way but for, me if that's the, case he'd be
pretty disappointed with The jets one this year with just
the mixing paint and.
Speaker 3 (01:39:53):
Stuff is that what it?
Speaker 4 (01:39:55):
Was mixing?
Speaker 7 (01:39:55):
Paint, YEAH i mean a lot of people thought it was,
creative but and it. Was but it's like if if
the situation you're describing where there's a guy that's just
had a whole work, week he's been looking forward to,
this and like that's what they came up.
Speaker 2 (01:40:06):
With but that's some of the things that THE nfl
does a great job of is taking things that literally
were an.
Speaker 3 (01:40:14):
Email literally don't, matter and like prior.
Speaker 2 (01:40:17):
To being an email was like a handwritten, message a
phone call presented from the league office To, Burrea ohio
to get The browns week, one and somebody had to
write it. Down Amy trask has outlined how she used
to do this for The. Raiders they call back then
In oakland and she's write down who they were playing
(01:40:38):
and where they were playing at and then she'd go
give the list To Al davis and that's how everybody
found out what the schedule was and NOW i got
to watch freaking.
Speaker 7 (01:40:46):
Minecraft, well in recent, years it's become a much bigger
deal because of how viral some of them have. Got
like you mentioned The titans, ONE i remember a few
years The chargers did. Well, obviously The chargers are considered
like the pinnacle of these and part of that was
because as they did that anime one a few years.
Ago you guys remember that it was like the anime
song with the. Ah, well of course you didn't, watch
but but it just feels like because of those it's
(01:41:09):
become such a big. Deal but it feels like most
of these teams are trying way too hard at. IT
i don't know if.
Speaker 4 (01:41:15):
That maybe that's what it, is because it's like it
doesn't have.
Speaker 7 (01:41:19):
To be a lot like it just feels very.
Speaker 4 (01:41:21):
Forced jacksonville watched me get Watched jacksonville made me Watch
Trevor lawrence get a haircut in their.
Speaker 3 (01:41:28):
Video that's what it.
Speaker 2 (01:41:29):
Was short his.
Speaker 3 (01:41:30):
Hair oh it's super.
Speaker 7 (01:41:31):
Short, no but it was. Fake it was a. Wig
it was a. Wig he didn't really cut.
Speaker 4 (01:41:35):
It now the video is even. Stupider are you kidding?
Me it wasn't even.
Speaker 3 (01:41:39):
Real no got Had i'm still SENT i got.
Speaker 7 (01:41:44):
Sentiled it was their, video but, yeah not not actually.
Cut you Got spaniard.
Speaker 2 (01:41:50):
Only twenty four hours in a, day seven days of the.
WEEK i don't have time in my life for. This monsi's.
Offender she's still. Shook the look on her, face the
look on her face because she Thought Trevor lawrence says short.
Speaker 4 (01:42:05):
HAIR i Thought Trevor lawrence is short, hair AND i was, like,
okay all, right he's ready knew, him ready for a new.
Season did you.
Speaker 7 (01:42:13):
Guys see the Step brothers one? Though for The, Raiders
well Again, MARTIN i saw the. Thumbnail that one was,
Funny that one was. Funny but again it's it's just
this long thing and it's not you're not even telling
us the. Schedule it's like just a little bit with
sketches and then at the end you might just show
us what the games. WERE i will, say this getting.
Weird we're losing the.
Speaker 2 (01:42:30):
PLOT a sign that the plot was all the way
lost should have been the headlines of ISN'T nfl team
gonna make reference to The patriots? Scandal is somebody gonna
make reference to rabel And? Rassini and then The chargers
did the little N y post commented on your thing.
Speaker 4 (01:42:52):
Also photo dump in a coming next, EXIT i think
was one.
Speaker 2 (01:42:58):
The idea THAT i think in a, twist in a twisted,
way The chargers took the pressure off of everybody else
for doing, something and it's, like why is this considered
a point of? Pressure it's, like why is this considered
something that, like, oh if they don't address it in
the schedule release. Video oh, No oh my.
Speaker 4 (01:43:18):
GOODNESS i feel like THE nfl wanted more teams to do.
It that's why they sent that memo that, said no
one's gonna get in.
Speaker 3 (01:43:25):
Trouble we're not gonna be monitoring for. This don't worry.
Speaker 2 (01:43:29):
That that screamed to. Me we're going out of town
for the. WEEKEND i dare you to come.
Speaker 4 (01:43:34):
Home no for, me.
Speaker 3 (01:43:38):
They're literally playing week. One why else would they be
Playing week? One you want to see them pretty much
of the Super Bowl week? One you're, lying, no you
don't because the Super bowl.
Speaker 2 (01:43:46):
SUCKED i, Mean i've wanted to see a. Remach it's
a Super bowl that we, Had but.
Speaker 3 (01:43:50):
Do you want to see it in week?
Speaker 4 (01:43:52):
One?
Speaker 2 (01:43:52):
YEAH i actually THINK i don't that this Super. Bowl
somebody asked me about it in the middle of the.
Game he might be. Listening my Boy alix asked me
in a mill Of Super bowl IF i thought this
was a boring, game, Right AND i, SAID i understand
why people think this game is, boring BUT i also
think this is going to mean something so drastic and
(01:44:15):
radical for the league going, forward that this is going
to be an inflection Point like this. Moment these four
quarters might be deemed bad or boring, football but looking
forward is going to be something we view all football
through the lens Of i'll explain coming up. Next we
got developments in THE. Nhl see the. Saker, yeah this
(01:44:37):
is one of.
Speaker 10 (01:44:38):
The worst postseason nights in years for The Montreal, canadians
and they have quite a proud.
Speaker 2 (01:44:43):

Speaker 10 (01:44:44):

get off of. The air, So, yeah mansi it was
sometime in between like the fifth and sixth Sack Of
drake may felt like In The. Super bowl when My
buddy alex, texted me, he said is this a boring game?
To YOU because i kind of look at Sports like
my wife's the. Entertainment journalist when she covers, a movie
(01:48:26):
there's no guarantee it's gonna, be, good right she's, gotta
watch she has. To watch if the movie's the worst move,
all time she still got to watch it to, the,
end right you never know what's, gonna happen and EVER
since i had my finger on the power button of,
the remote And Then myles Garrett Hit mason ruff and
held with. A helmet I'VE not i don't really turn,
(01:48:47):
games off do you Know what? I'M saying i, don't really,
you know you don't know what you're gonna miss as you,
don't know, you know the man just might bite. The,
dog yeah, and so but my takeaway From The super
bowl was We Watched sam donald are better phrased a
(01:49:08):
team Quarterbacked By sam donald walk through the last few
weeks OF the nfc got some competition From, the rams
but really LIKE from i MEAN the i forget what
week that forty nine er, game was but towards the
end of, the season but really it was a SmackDown
(01:49:31):
from like Thirteen on week thirteen or week twelve On
And kirk cousins was talking about the way they played
defense and how the pure progression reads that have taken OVER. The,
Nfl basically seattle's defense is design to. Stop it and
(01:49:53):
what it reminded me of Was Watching. Patrick Mahomes When
patrick mahomes took over from break right like, took over
like kind of the best quarterback in. The World, mantle
right he took, it over partly because you're, so athletic
but also because he was just throwing. Behind, Defenses right
he's going back, behind you back. Behind defenses all of,
a sudden everybody's running too. Deep shell everybody, backs up
(01:50:18):
to the point that there are reputable people on television
SAYING the nfl should outlaw the too deep shell because
it's forcing quarterbacks to, check down, check down. Check down,
seattle's defense, to me is the. Newest iteration it's the
new thing that everybody's going to be trying. To replicate
and as, a result what we are going to see
(01:50:41):
is really we're really gonna see guys dialing. It up
in terms of, Offensive coordinators we're really gonna be able
to separate who can really play the cerebral level. Of, Quarterback,
first like we've had a lot of really good athletes
who also play quarterback. RIGHT now i think it will
BE a i think it's going to go back to
more quarterbacks who are being able to read the, game
(01:51:03):
BETTER and i think ultimately we're going to be better.
For IT as nfl.
Speaker 4 (01:51:07):
FANS interesting, I mean i feel like there's been a
lot of a belief THAT the nfl right has quote
unquote simplified the game to be more like college and
simplify it for, everybody involved.
Speaker 2 (01:51:20):
Especially on the, office especially there's playing fast and. Playing
simple are playing simple and fast is better than complicated
and slow is.
Speaker 4 (01:51:30):
The energy it's kind of, the energy and, you're right
it is with offense more. Than Anything, uh so. IT'S interesting,
I believe i believe everything.
Speaker 3 (01:51:39):
You're saying i'm.
Speaker 4 (01:51:40):
With you but even with all, of that this is
not the first game of the YEAR that i want.
Speaker 3 (01:51:44):
TO see i don't.
Speaker 4 (01:51:46):
To me, to Me the patriots And the seahawks are
not going to be, an exciting entertaining.
Speaker 3 (01:51:53):
Game Whatsoever in? Week one had you push that.
Speaker 4 (01:51:56):
Maybe later in, the, season MAYBE but i, just like,
to me this is a missed opportunity to Put the
seahawks against an opponent Like The chicago bears.
Speaker 3 (01:52:07):
Unopening, NIGHT yeah i don't HAVE.
Speaker 2 (01:52:10):
A i Like The super bowl rematch to kick the,
season off even if the teams are not going to
be not going to matter at the end of. THE
season i Think the seahawks have a better shot at
mattering Than the patriots do when it's all said and
done at the end of. The seasons because of, THE
division I think buffalo's might go back to winning, that
(01:52:30):
Thing so patriot's be a wild card While put seattle
as the favorite In the west currently even with some of.
Their losses but we, need. Tradition moncie there's too many
things that are changing. Too rapidly it's not.
Speaker 3 (01:52:43):
A tradition it's not always A super. Bowl rematch when's
the last time? It wasn't was the year before an
Actual super.
Speaker 2 (01:52:49):
Bowl rematch, pretty consistently it's The super bowl rematch of the. Year,
prior okay, go ahead look. It up i'll be, you
know you can see HOW right i am after the
commercial break if you like to. Do, that, because uh
There's A spice, girl song, you know When three? Become
one you Know what i'm talking?
Speaker 3 (01:53:09):
About it, of course OF course i know, the SONG.
Speaker 2 (01:53:12):
And i just said in The Movie, spice world they
make a reference to the it is when three? Become,
One right so it's spared. With me it's been twenty
YEARS since i saw, the movie and that was LONGER
since i saw. The song is my sister's favorite shout
out to her it was her, birthday yesterday, but birthday,
but uh it's just something weird when you're trying to
(01:53:33):
have number three become, number one especially when number three
might not have been number three the entirety at. The
time we'll get To what i'm, talking about and it's very.
Confusing tease it's related. To basketball in just, A Moment,
Martin Weiss monster bilanos furiously trying to prove. Me wrong,
spoiler alert in, Five minutes i'll still. Be right tune
(01:53:54):
in to FIND out.
Speaker 9 (01:53:57):
I.
Speaker 2 (01:53:58):
Was wrong, monsy's right and so now not to steal
any of, Your, shine moncey but me being wrong now
and you, being right let's go ahead and both. BE
right i Was sam levy to challenge. To Us, sam
levy the challenge, To, us yes in. The, break OKAY
(01:54:20):
so i could only remember two of.
Speaker 12 (01:54:21):
The five but name All the spice girls that YOU remember. I,
REMEMBERED okay i, Know, THEM okay i lived this is.
Speaker 4 (01:54:27):
MY life i lived, It, too no NOT like. I DID.
Speaker 2 (01:54:31):

you have the? Other three if you can, let me
then you fill? Them out you think so you Got,
posh Spice Who's victoria, Beckham's Right scary spice Who?
Speaker 8 (01:54:47):

Speaker 4 (01:54:52):
SAY sporty i said scary.
Speaker 2 (01:54:53):
And sporty scary, and SPORTY so i just know the two.
Of those And Then. Ginger. Spice correct there. You go
i'm phoning. A friend you were.
Speaker 3 (01:55:04):
Talking About baby spie.
Speaker 7 (01:55:05):

Speaker 4 (01:55:08):
THAT'S right i can see.
Speaker 2 (01:55:09):
The, pick yeah you can.
Speaker 7 (01:55:11):
See it so how Does a spice girl earn? HER
nickname i don't know how. They like Was sporty spice
just clearly the most sporty of all? Of them, You know.
Speaker 3 (01:55:19):
It's funny it's like her outfits.
Speaker 4 (01:55:21):
WERE sporty i never saw her. PLAY anything i don't
think she was out there playing basketball, or anything but
she was definitely.
Speaker 3 (01:55:27):
A tomboy like, a tomboy she was a.
Speaker 4 (01:55:29):
Bit sporty she was.
Speaker 7 (01:55:30):
Always looking does she have a Take On anthony edwards
Congratulating the spurs with eight minutes.
Speaker 2 (01:55:34):
To go in.
Speaker 4 (01:55:34):
THE game i would love. To know if we could
get in contact, with her that would be. So GREAT
but i think sporty spies would also say. SWIFT swaft
i would not have.
Speaker 2 (01:55:44):
Done that is that is that was an attempt At a. British,
accent no not.
Speaker 4 (01:55:48):
At all, OH no i can't Do a.
Speaker 7 (01:55:49):

Speaker 4 (01:55:54):

are getting on the fans for not wearing the shirts at.
The game that's because People in detroit are wearing their.
Speaker 4 (01:56:27):
Own outfits like here in la but a little bit of.
Speaker 2 (01:56:30):
A different way in that la everybody's wearing what. They
want there's certain level that are is dressed. To impress
there's certain people, Who's like i'll could wear, whatever want
WEAR whatever i want because Of, la.
Speaker 4 (01:56:41):
Yeah you Know what.
Speaker 3 (01:56:42):
I'm saying, Like that So, in detroit everyone's dressing dressed and.
Speaker 2 (01:56:45):
Impressed dress i'm At the. PISTONS game i got, my
glasses got, my hat got. MY shoes i am. Very
intentional i'm not wearing this shirt that forty other forty
thousand other people. Are wearing i'm getting my. Fit, Off
okay and there's a very territorial Energy. To DETROIT and
i almost caught myself. Do it you said Your friend Lauren,
(01:57:06):
From DETROIT and i was about To say lauren From
actual detroit or From, metro detroit which is a designation
that matters to about a. Million people. That's it the
rest Of The united states. Doesn't care Because if lauren
Went To west bloomfield Or like Goryan or pontiac Or
or clarkston, or whatever any two four eight SCHOOL like
i would have went to a play against, high school you,
know what she would have said that she was in here?
(01:57:28):
Right now where is She? From detroit because nobody knows those.
OTHER places i saw There's a pistons fan on. Social
media his Name. Is Tom, He's, korean Okay, from korea
posts About the. Pistons consistently, this Kid the pistons see
the kid posting. All, this somehow someway he ends up
going To a pistons game kind of like all behalf of.
(01:57:50):
The team people. Are mad people, are mad like why
don't you Send a detroiter up there to? DO that i, don't,
know man because a Guy from korea is. Going viral,
It's okay. It's okay this whole this, is like there's
this thing now there's big conversation in between The. Two
DETROITS when i Worked in detroit's ports, talk radio people
(01:58:12):
Call the Pistons the stones all, the time like it as.
A nickname it, wasn't common but it wasn't. Like bucking
it was like when somebody will Call the Pirates, the
buckos right For The. Pittsburgh PIRATES if i, say this
it's Not what i'm, Talking about but you don't necessarily?
What where?
Speaker 4 (01:58:31):
She responded, she responded SHE and i just said where
exactly are? You from Like, in michigan and She Wrote,
Metro Detroit. METRO detroit i Went To Northville, high school.
Speaker 2 (01:58:44):
Which is Squarely. Not. Detroit right it's like, Saying that
but it's also like saying if you Lived In, sherman
oaks where, you're from you JUST. Say, la right it's Not.
Downtown la but if SHE.
Speaker 7 (01:58:57):
Tasically la but it's like it's a different not like
we got listeners In like Florida and texas right now
who are, just, LIKE what i don't get any.
Speaker 2 (01:59:06):
Of this it's happening, in games. Happening tomorrow you'll see.
The pitch i'm trying to explain why people, are like
Why is game seven? Environments stink and you know it's
because everybody. Needs choice men thousands of dollars on. Their
outfit they're not wearing YOUR stupid. T shirt they just
get to twirl. The towels THAT'S what.
Speaker 4 (01:59:23):
I do i think even the ones YOU'RE in la
that aren't dressing to, the nines they still want to
show off THEIR graphic t shirt that, they got, you Know. At, Target, probably.
Speaker 2 (01:59:31):
Well Should the Blakers bring, Lebron back they're. Probably gonna
they're probably, Going TO and i think it's a. Good
IDEA yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:59:38):
I don't i'm not, against IT and i think that
they his stock is higher than it was a start of.
Speaker 2 (01:59:43):
The season, but ALSO if i people are Talking about
lebron disrespected and this, and THAT and i know we
had ten, seconds Left so i'm not gonna get too far,
INTO it i would be a little. Upset too if
it was clear you also we had to be the
third option. All year It's clearly i'm, at minimum.
Speaker 4 (01:59:57):
SECOND minimum i was the only one available the higher.
Postseason run what are you talking about but he can't take.
Speaker 2 (02:00:02):
Fifty mil i'm, just saying you want me To be
