Speaker 1 (00:01):
You don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
That's why we're broadcasting live from the Fox Sports Radio
studios on Martin Wises with Monsi.
Speaker 3 (00:09):
MONSI, how you doing today? You pulled a little Martin Wis' duty.
Speaker 4 (00:13):
I did.
Speaker 5 (00:13):
You were out fulfilling your new husband duties and uh
this brother stuff, oh brother stuff, brother stuff, and so
I was happy to cover for you. And now we're
back together here, and I must say, you smell delicious.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Thank you. You're the you're to blame for this.
Speaker 4 (00:31):
Is it what I gave you?
Speaker 2 (00:32):
It's not what you know whatever. I actually forget what
you actually gave me.
Speaker 4 (00:36):
Okay, but I know what, Yes, you told you.
Speaker 6 (00:38):
This was a Christmas Christmas care package from mons Yes,
two years.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Ago, two Christmases ago, Monsy comes and brings a care
package for how many people get thirty five.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Or so something like that, right, people that.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Work here, right, and and and all of them are,
you know, pretty the same. It's very much, uh the
adult version, if you will. When you're in grade school,
you get the class like Valentine's or something.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
For somebody's birthday. Everybody kind of brings like this.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
So they're all a little different. But they're all essentially
the same goodie back. And so she hands me this thing,
and you know, folks, we were at a radio station.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
It's like radio radio people are yeah, weird. Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
So she hands me this and she's like, I like
the guys I work with to smell good, which okay,
green green flag there.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
But I looked around. I was like, whata you mean.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
I smelled like the rest of these guys. That's what
you're trying to tell me. I smell like the rest
of these jokers. Oh my goodness. And then it it
had a bed bathroom. I get them. I get them
mixed up bed bathroom. I call it bed bathroom bodyworks.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
Yes, yes, bathroom bodyworks.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
It had one of the radio and so my experience
with radiodor Priorty that was acts.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
Which is fine, but there's better.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
And then so now I went there, and now I
get the discounts. Yeah, one power Joel plus hand lotion planets.
Speaker 7 (02:11):
You know you spring acts.
Speaker 5 (02:13):
No Mary that he's familiar with that, he's that he
knew prior to this one, like a body spray.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
I would just like to think if anybody's paying attention,
it would be.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
The four people.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
I get it if you're in the car, maybe you
missed out at the beginning, like wait, I don't get
away what happened?
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Wait, but you say if you miss hurt, sorry, you
know it's you know.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
If there's anybody paying attention, I would love maybe it'd
be us. All right, so good, so much most of
the time. I think we see this happened a lot
with Midwesterners. They get a job, they grow up, go
to like you know school around there, you know, Northwestern
state or wherever, they get a job, and after a
(02:57):
while they look up and you know, it is way
too cold. I'm sick of this. I'm moving and where
you move it to, I don't care. I'm moving south.
We're going to Texas, We're going to Florida, We're going
to Arizona. And you just say why because it's not
snowing anymore. Kind of had like the reverse of that.
(03:19):
The Arizona Cardinal Arizona said, Kyler Murray, we are sick
of you. We're sending you to the cold and the snow.
We'll pay we'll pay all your salary if you will
get the heck up out of here. Kevin O'Connell said, listen,
please come and play quarterback for me, because if I
just had a single quarterback last year, a single one,
(03:41):
we've may have won ten games.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
What nine games? Nine games? But JJ McCarthy and Max Brosmer.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
So the Minnesota native, I'm sure, so maybe he needs
to go south.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
He needs to go south.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
So Kyler Murray. I think the Kyler Murray thing for
me is this, three things are true. Kyler Murray had
a million dollars or so that the Vikings are gonna
have to pay him for his services is the best
bargain at quarterback in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Right yep.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
If the Minnesota Vikings had a quarterback that was slightly capable,
they would have been a much better team.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
I think Kyler Murray is the worst quarterback in the North.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
And I am also Oh and here's the fourth thing,
JJ McCarthy, your career is over.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
It is over finished, finito done.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
I hope that you take that signing bonus and invested
wisely because it's more money than I'll probably ever see
in my life. So I say this with I say
this without judgment, but that second contract that you will
get will come with it. It'll be a W two
with noncompete clauses all up and through that bad boy,
because you could be working for the Big ten network.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
This is advice from one Wolverine to another.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
Advice sign for the Alumni Association and how you get
a job?
Speaker 4 (05:10):
All right, So.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
Over Manti, No, I don't want to hear it.
Speaker 5 (05:14):
No, over, I'm not that's not my that's not my pushback.
I do think with JJ McCarthy it's probably over. That's
not my pushback, and not it's not a big pushback.
I think that Kyler Murray there is still at least
(05:36):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
What he is.
Speaker 5 (05:40):
And I say this because with Anthony Richardson, I feel
like with Anthony Richardson, I have an opinion about him
that is, you can't stay healthy.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
You can't be a starting quarterback.
Speaker 5 (05:50):
It's been only X amount of starts for you. But
if you cannot be healthy, then I can't trust on you.
Health is the most important thing. Okay, So let's move
away from Anthony Richardson and then we go to Kyler Murray,
who has been underwhelming after he got his contract with
his extension with the Cardinals. Underwhelming, and the Cardinals have
(06:11):
been underwhelming also as a team, like last year, even
with Jacoby Brissett, the offense would be clicking, and then
you'd get to the fourth quarter and then they would
just lose the game after being up by double digits.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
At times, the Cardinals just seem a little bit.
Speaker 5 (06:30):
A little JV in comparison to other teams that are
let's just call the varsity, right. So I'm not completely
saying that I am out on Kyler Murray.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
I am saying that there is a chance he.
Speaker 5 (06:43):
Goes to Minnesota with Kevin O'Connell and revitalizes his career
enough that Minnesota wants to hold onto him for the
next couple of years. Minnesota lets several quarterbacks walk out
that door, and they probably regret it.
Speaker 4 (06:59):
But after this.
Speaker 5 (07:01):
NFL season, I think every team is looking at their
at their rosters and it's like, all right, where are we?
We do know that you do not need a top three,
top five quarterback to win the Super Bowl. That's the
one thing that I think everybody's walking away from with
this past Super Bowl. Marn you don't need an elite quarterback.
You just need somebody that can play the position. And
(07:22):
JJ McCarthy clearly couldn't. Can Kyler Burry play that position
enough for the Vikings.
Speaker 4 (07:27):
I think so.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
So that's what I'm saying. He is way better, way better.
But you say you don't know who Kyler is yet.
Speaker 5 (07:35):
Yeah, I feel like I'm still my jury is still
not out on Kyler Murray.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
But we are year seven.
Speaker 4 (07:42):
I know, I know it's been.
Speaker 5 (07:44):
A long time, and there's conversations about how much maybe
he puts into actually studying film and.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
You know all of that. I know, yes, but I do.
Speaker 5 (07:55):
Think I'm willing to I'm willing to let him come
in and see what he can do. I'm not willing
to let Anthony Richardson come in and see what he can.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Do well see Anthony Richardson. And I'm not making the
case that you like. Here's the thing, the reason why
the Vikings are in the Kyler Murray business and not
the Anthony Richardson business or the anybody else businesses, because
if we don't win games right now, like the Vikings
have to win games this year, and I told people
(08:24):
last summer, like if JJ McCarthy does not play well,
this is the type of move that gets people fired
because you have to have such confidence in your scouting
and such confidence in your ability to let a fourteen
win quarterback walk out of the door, because most guys
aren't fourteen win quarterbacks. Now, to your point, Sam Darnold,
(08:45):
just by himself, I don't think he's a fourteen win quarterback, but.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
You put it in the right infrastructure and you build
it out.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
But it's like to the point of you see Patrick
Mahomes he goes down for Kansas City, It's like, oh,
this whole thing falls apart. And I get it that
he didn't play well to start the season, but it's like,
you saw how bad the team was. As soon as
she falls, as soon as she goes down, it's like, oh,
this is you know, we were on the Titanic, but
this was the only thing that was still keeping us
afloat at all in terms of how the Chiefs and
(09:15):
the wather It's season ANDed last year. There's classes to quarterbacks.
When you look at this, Kyler Murray is very much
I gotta save my job moment right now for Kevin
O'Connell because if I don't put competent football on the field,
it's going to start really be a thing of like hey,
because if I live in Minnesota right now, I look
at the way that nationally talking about my coach, and
I think I have a different perspective.
Speaker 5 (09:37):
Seriously, Yeah, I do you do you put blame on
Kevin O'Connell with what happened?
Speaker 4 (09:43):
Like, isn't it more on the front office?
Speaker 2 (09:45):
When you go out and say and for better or
for worse, this is a quote business sometimes a quote
of burn you. But when you go out and say
organizations fail quarterbacks, where the quarterbacks fail organizations? And we're
looking at the worst starting quarterback in in the NFL
since Anthony Richardson, right, since Anthony Richardson, Like and the
(10:06):
difference even between the Anthony Richardson and a JJ McCarthy
to me is out. JJ McCarthy had one quarter where
he had a couple scrambles. Outside of that, to me,
he has never shown that he's gonna be able to
be a high level starter like Josh Allen when he
was having bone headed turnovers. They're like, man, there's enough
(10:28):
here where it's like if I can mold this piece
of clay and sure, maybe his turnovers will turn up
at the worst possible time. AFC Championship game right before
the half. Hey, gotta hate that.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
What I loved it?
Speaker 2 (10:41):
If that was Week six, Josh where when the super
Bowl is not on the line, but it was, and
that's what happens. But you would have ever got there
if Josh Allen wasn't playing at that level. Kyler Murray,
to me, has shown through this stretch of his career
he's not gonna be the type of guy that you
look up and his when you look up at the
last game of the year, which ever thirty one teams
(11:01):
lose it right when you look up and be like, damn,
I know you didn't play well in this game, but
you're the reason we got here. It's Kyler Murray's not
that and J. J. McCarthy will never be.
Speaker 5 (11:10):
But it's kind of what you just said about the
organization aspect of it, Like I think you look at
the Cardinals and you wonder if the Cardinals did right
by Kyler Murray and the pieces around him.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
When it came to Anthony.
Speaker 5 (11:20):
Richardson and the Colts, the Colts have had a great
O line since I want to say Anthony Richardson was drafted,
they've had a really.
Speaker 4 (11:27):
Good O line.
Speaker 5 (11:28):
So they definitely had the right pieces around the quarterback
to see what they had and then he didn't do
anything with Kyler Murray. It's like, I don't again, I
feel like the like the I look at the Cardinals
as a roster and their pieces and I'm just like,
it doesn't fit to me. And I wonder if that's
what Minnesota is looking at the organization like Cardinals was
not the right organization.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
We can be for him, sure.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
But okay, but just okay, but play it out when
you look at the obviously we were haven't had the
draft yet, right, but if you were projecting right now,
fast forward to ten months from today, you know who
the head coach and quarterback combination is going to be
for both of the all four of the quarterbacks, all
four of the teams rather in the NFC North, and
we know for damn sure, there's not going to be
(12:09):
JJ McCarthy. I'm telling you this right here, right now.
I'm not even considering this a quarterback competition. No, it
shouldn't be right because I don't. I don't even consider
it a quarterback competition in the slides. I think it
is Kyler's job and that.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
Is that right.
Speaker 5 (12:22):
And I think they told him that essentially without him saying,
even though they asked him in his press conference, he
like signed and then like an hour later he was already.
Speaker 4 (12:29):
Speaking about just speaking or you know, with the media.
Speaker 5 (12:32):
And they asked him and he very he answered. He
answered it perfectly like a politician. Didn't say that he
wasn't expecting to do be the start, that he thinks
he's going to go in blah blah blah, and there's
gonna be a competition, but he's grateful for the opportunity.
He knows he is the starting quarterback. If anything, they're
just trying to tell JJ McCarthy. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's
a it's a competition. Just you just wait when in
(12:53):
reality it's not a competition. No, they're going to bring
in another quarterback.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
I don't think that. Actually, I think they'll actually I
have Max bros.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
From on the practice squad, and then after they win
seven and a half games or so next year, they
will be trying their best to mortgage.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
Their way up to get one in this upcoming draft.
Speaker 5 (13:12):
But you're gonna go with JJ McCarthy as your backup,
like in case something happens.
Speaker 3 (13:17):
I think that that's in question.
Speaker 6 (13:19):
You guys, Do you guys think JJ McCarthy's NFL career
is done because of this or do you think he
can get another chance.
Speaker 4 (13:25):
I think it's really close to being done. I'm with Martin.
Speaker 5 (13:28):
It just what what did you see that? It's like,
you know what, I can work with this. I don't
know if there was ever a moment like that. I
agree with Martin.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
And he was what pick was he?
Speaker 3 (13:38):
Eleven?
Speaker 4 (13:39):
Eleven?
Speaker 3 (13:40):
And then turned Jersey number nine?
Speaker 4 (13:43):
Now, yeah, I tenth pick? Actually tenth, tenth, tenth, Like
it's not looking good for him?
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Who picked eleven that year?
Speaker 7 (13:56):
Stand by?
Speaker 3 (14:00):
I got all the answers.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
Yeah, he had all the answers except except for that one.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
You know what? Sometimes well I looked up what pick
was he? Instead of just looking at the drafts. You
know what that would have been. That would have been
the missing piece.
Speaker 4 (14:14):
That would have been the missing piece.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
So somebody said they are the missing piece.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
I'll tell you what it's missing piece? Is this a
few years younger than me? And I got two hamstrings?
He only has one.
Speaker 3 (14:27):
The Jets picked eleventh that year, Jets picked eleven.
Speaker 4 (14:29):
What's the irony there that he's a jetsman? Didn't know that? One?
Speaker 3 (14:33):
Is that? The who they draft? The linebacker? They're left
tackle left tackle.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
All right, there you go, all right? Coming up next?
Is this the missing piece to the puzzle? Out West.
We'll get to it next. Barn West, Monsey Belanos. Fox

if I'm wrong, Okay.
Speaker 4 (16:27):
Paint me the picture. What do you see?
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Forty nine Ers sign Brandon Ay to a big old contract.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
Brandon Victoria's nea didn't come back to work, didn't show.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
Up to work, and now they said, Yo, not throwing
bad money after good anymore. I'm gonna go ahead our
good money after bad. Let's go ahead and sign Mike Evans.
Mike Evans comes into the forty nine ers, you know,
uh facility, not substation near the substation, and has a
(17:03):
lot to say to forty nine or faithful.
Speaker 10 (17:07):
A team that always they always compete, even with the injuries.
Last year, I think they went thirteen to four. I
mean I feel like they were one piece away, and
I think that I'm that piece and I'll look forward
to coming here and improving that now.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
I think when you make the point of all the
injuries that were kind of one piece away this team
the best two teams in the NFC last year, I think,
you know, base off NFCY Championship, all that you had
the Rams and the Seahawks. The forty nine Ers were
toe to toe in that division really up until Rashijia
(17:43):
he took that kickoff return. And that's after mission Mac Jones,
George Kittle got hurt. Like, there was really too many injuries,
so many show the conspiracy theory was started about why
they had hurt.
Speaker 4 (17:58):
The share I could not believe.
Speaker 5 (18:03):
At the end of the year, they lost to the
Seahawks thirteen to three in that final game of the
regular season, but before that they had won six in
a row, Like I don't think anyone anticipated that, not
even our Niner fan Brandon Deutsch, you know, always such
a pessimistic about his Niners. But they won six in
a row out a time when I think all of
(18:23):
us were like, huh, how are they? How are they
doing this with all of the injuries. Mike Evans, I
love Mike Evins. Mike Evans can say about any team,
I think they were missing a piece, and it's me.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
No matter where he went, he can say that.
Speaker 5 (18:41):
And I do think with the Niners they were they
could use a true wide receiver one.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
I think when you break down to Kyle Shanahan's former stops,
you look at when he first burst onto the scene,
kind of all outside of Dad's shadow in Washington, he's
in used.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
Andre Johnson. This is wide receiver number one.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Matt shawp as an MVP season, Okay, he goes to Atlanta.
Julio Jones is a wide receiver number one. Matt Ryan
as an MVP season.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
Okay. Now, neither one.
Speaker 2 (19:16):
Of those guys at MVP seasons prior to or after,
you know, and I'm not saying that Perdy is about
to have an MVP season, but I am saying that.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
And I get that.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
Mike Evans just thirty three, thirty four years old, but
he's durable.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
He's been really a target. And you know what. The
other thing, he's played with a ton of great quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
And when you look at the list of the guys
that I just named off, what do they all have
in common? They're all big, big shoulders, six to four
guys go up contested, catch, go give me the ball.
Throw the ball up, I'll go get it. The forty
nine ers haven't had that. Their big body guy was
George Kittle, and he's tight end Hall of Fame tailand
at tight end, but still a tight end. On every
(20:01):
single play, there's nobody out there that they're lining up
outside one on one where you're the defense is like, oh,
we've got to double him on the outside or we're
gonna get burned.
Speaker 5 (20:13):
I can you imagine how this will open up the
field for like Christian McCaffrey, Like, like you just said,
Mike Evans, I have seen him be covered by two
people and he manages to catch the ball. It's incredible,
And I know the injury like it's but I think
that Mike Evans one is an X factor and it
(20:33):
doesn't matter what team he went to and on the
forty nine ers, I think it is a nice X
factor that is is probably gonna fit in nicely.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
When they all had Well did you talk about fitting nicely?
Like when you think about the type of guys, and
I think this is something that maybe the forty nine
ers have like the ability to do it just because
of the infrastructure and the continuity in the front office
and such, or maybe it's just something that they really
truly value.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
It's like they're best players.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
All of them are like you would quantify like football
guys like Fred Warder, Nick Bosa, like George Kittle. They're
all like they're like stick your tongue out type maniacs
that you really want on a football field, but also
like are seem to be relatively normal people outside of it, you.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
Know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
Trent, Trent Williams another type of guy, like these guys.
Are these guys part of the reason why they're hurt
so often, I'm sure is because they're in pretty hard,
just cracking each other, just crack right, and so like
that ends up happening, and it plays out because you
only got so many it's but even Deebo. Then as
soon as Deebo goes off on the kicker next off season,
(21:42):
see you later, and you know what, Deebo's right. Jake
Moody was terrible, right, you know, it was terrible first
San Francisco for that time period. But you know what,
that's not what we're doing here. Kyle Shanahan and he
gets them up out of there. That's that's an organization that,
like I think, really deserves a lot of respect and
(22:03):
the way that they run it because they do miss.
They drafted Trey Lance third and spent a ton of picks.
They put a contract on Brandon Iu and now I'm
gonna pay all that money. Like they do miss, but
they have such a good infrastructure around it that oftentimes
when they miss, it doesn't really matter.
Speaker 5 (22:21):
And within their division, they knew they had to make
a big move, you know what I'm saying, Like, because
it's not gonna be easy next year for them at all.
It's gonna be a really tough division for the Seahox,
for the Rams for them, So the forty nine ers
being so close with all those injuries, I feel like
making the move for Mike Evans. And I'm just surprised
that Mike Evans actually went for it. I really thought
he was gonna stay in Tampa. I thought he was
(22:42):
gonna be one of those guys that just stayed with
one team, especially because he won already a.
Speaker 4 (22:46):
Super Bowl, you know what I mean. Like he's not
looking for that, he doesn't need to do that.
Speaker 5 (22:51):
He's going maybe just a change of scenery and if anything,
this just shows how much those the theories that conspiracy series,
that that substation.
Speaker 4 (23:01):
Was causing the injuries.
Speaker 5 (23:02):
For somebody like Mike Evans who just went through an
injury to go decide to still play with the Niners,
he clearly doesn't believe in that's in that conspiracy.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
Well, it reminds me of what we were talking about
at the end of last season as we were prognosticating
the NFL playoff picture and how things were gonna go,
and also kind of picking out what.
Speaker 3 (23:22):
Coach is gonna get what coaches are gonna get fired.
You'll remember MONSI.
Speaker 2 (23:27):
In a beautiful, beautiful like Chef's kiss uniform matchup played
in the Pacific Northwest in the early week seven eight
or nine, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers playing the Seattle Seahawks
toe to toe thirty eight to thirty five. The margin
of that game, right, Tampa from that point on just
(23:48):
played five hundred football.
Speaker 3 (23:49):
To They just lost out.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
It was right, and Carolina and Bryce Young snuck in
and won that play and went to the playoffs at
eight and nine. And when we sat here and wondered this,
tieballs is the job? Secure is everything? Okay in Tampa, Like,
what's going on?
Speaker 3 (24:10):
Member?
Speaker 2 (24:10):
Because I told you Mike Evans when he threw his
helmet on the sideline after breaking his cars, Like, this
is not what Mike Evans.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
Normally does something that I'm telling you.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
It looks I see the sun is up.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
Okay, I get it. It's like see when I lived
in Michigan. I moved.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
When I moved to Michigan from Louisiana and the winter
time started coming there, sometimes there are not signs.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
That is cold out, the sun will be up.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
It was beautiful, beautiful, no wind because no leaves on
the tree, you can't see the wind blowing. It just
looks like it's no regular wind. Today you walk outside,
it is negative ten degrees outside. Because you can't see
how cold it is. Everything looks right, but as soon
as you walk outside, this damn sure don't feel right.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
That's what it looks like in Tampa right now.
Speaker 6 (24:57):
To me.
Speaker 5 (24:59):
I thought Todd Bowles was definitely on the chopping block.
But during the end of the season, whenever you know
we were here, we would talk to insiders or like,
I feel like the fans are like people who are
not insiders, thought Todd Bowles was on the chopping block,
and anybody who was an insider was like, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
He's loved there. And I'm like, what where.
Speaker 5 (25:17):
Why do we, as an outside, you know, looking in,
feel like there is some disconnect here, But everybody else
who's an insider is like, no, no, no, they love him.
Speaker 4 (25:26):
He's not going anywhere. I couldn't believe that. I could
not believe that.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
And speaking of inside, I've had enough about this whole
insider insider insidiousness.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
We talk about more at the top of the hour,
as we had the breaking news time I got back
Crosby and Raven and then all of a sudden, the
breaking news time I got back Scrosby is not you
know what? You know what all this is?
Speaker 2 (25:47):
Maybe none of it was actually true before the league
year starts.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
An'll win.
Speaker 4 (25:51):
Well, then don't tell me, don't tell me. We've agreed
to terms.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
It's almost like it's not news.
Speaker 4 (25:57):
Don't tell me, you know, well, email about it.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
I've agreed to terms. To kick it to Steve to
Sega for this update.
Speaker 9 (26:05):
They had agreed to terms.
Speaker 4 (26:07):
Hey, yeah, they agreed to terms.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
I'll tell you what, Steve, my wife agreed the terms
when I proposed.
Speaker 9 (26:13):
And then you took a physical, and.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
There's a lot of stuff. There's a lot of stuff
that happened between agreed to terms and sign the paper.
Speaker 9 (26:22):
I think your sun analogy it reminded me when there
was this star offensive lineman who wound up in All
America at Colorado. He was recruited out of sunny southern California,
and they told him in the recruiting pitch, you know
it's almost three hundred days a year. We have son
here in Boulder, Colorado. And then it got there and
didn't realize it was Sonny.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
In thirty five, you had a son, had a son.
Speaker 9 (26:44):
He didn't lie. The sun is out, Yes, the sun exists.
We've got about a half an hour to go until
this last quarterfinal game of the World Baseball Classic begins.
It'll be on Fox TV four and OH Japan with
picture Yoshinobu Yamamoto of the Dodgers again. It's Venezuela and
veteran pitcher Ranger Suarez ex Philly, now big money contract
(27:05):
with the Red Sox. Tonight's winner goes to a Monday
night semifinal against Italy. They're still alive. They're still undefeated
five to zero in the tournament after eliminating Puerto Rico
eight to six. The loss to starter Seth Lugo, who
lasted a third of an inning Sunday night in a
semifinal USA and pitcher Paul Skeins against the great lineup
(27:26):
of the Dominican Republic. Now to college basketball, Arizona has
just won Big Twelve champions Number two Arizona beats number
five Houston seventy nine seventy four, starting up in about
ten minutes in Charlotte. Number one Duke against tenth rank
Virginia in the ACC Tournament final five minutes to go
(27:48):
on Fox TV. In the Big East Final in New York,
Saint John's has extended the lead over six ranked Yukon
sixty five to forty nine in the semifinals. Today, the
SEC Vanderbilt whip Florida. Arkansas in overtime defeated Old Miss
in the Big Ten Semifinals. Number three Michigan wins on
a last second three pointer against Wisconsin. Purdue beat UCLA.
(28:12):
Utah State has won the Mountain West Championship, defeating San
Diego State. A Bubble Team America East final goes to
UMBC defeating Vermont. Howard won the MEAC over North Carolina.
Central Selection Sunday for the NCAA Tournament is this Sunday.
NBA Boston has just sent Washington to an eleven straight loss,
(28:32):
one eleven to one hundred at San Antonio. Victor wimbin
Yama thirty two points in a win over Charlotte one
fifteen to one oh two. Atlanta won its ninth straight game,
whipping Milwaukee. Philadelphia beat Brooklyn. Coming up in just a
couple minutes, the Lakers host Denver. The late game will
have the Clippers hosting Sacramento. New York's Carl Anthony Towns
is due to return Sunday after Nie hornis. Among the
(28:55):
fourteen NHL games, Winnipeg defeated Colorado three to one, but
it's sunny. Ludwig Oberg leads the players by three strokes.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
Back to you, Thanks Steve. Uh this is second. We gotta,
we gotta.
Speaker 2 (29:08):
I know words mean less and less and less than
they ever have, but I mean the word record still has.
Speaker 3 (29:13):
To mean something.
Speaker 4 (29:14):
It should.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
Okay, goodness gracious, all right, But for the best pre
games show every weekend, be sure to tune into Fox
Sports Radio's Countdown, presented by bet MGM every Saturday and
Sunday morning from nine am to noon Eastern six am
to nine Pacific, will count you down to all the
biggest games of the weekend. Tune in the Countdown presented
by bet MGM every Saturday and Sunday morning right here
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app. MONSI this
(29:36):
is why I said this, And I have a master's
in journalism, and it's like one of the few things
that I'm like, yo, I will knock like I will
knock that out of the park, like my hype when
to put one of the biggest beefs I have with
AI is honestly the proliferation of the m dash in AI,
because he's now taken away what I feel is one
(29:57):
of my freaking superpowers as a writer, and I I'm
not giving it just so everybody knows I wrote it,
all right, because I write it better than the computer
does anyway.
Speaker 3 (30:05):
I grass the word record.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
It means the most that had done something like it's
the amount acquired to have the most when you did it.
Right now, that's not ox Forra's definition, right, but that's
my definition, and it has always checked the same box.
So I was on the phone with my pal because
you know what I was not doing on a Tuesday
night watching them Washington Wizards.
Speaker 3 (30:30):
Yeah, I heard it, said Bam has sixty seven points. Said,
no he doesn't. That was some No he doesn't.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
You're reading it wrong, the app is off whatever. Nah, bro,
Bam got sixty seven points.
Speaker 3 (30:43):
I gotta go.
Speaker 4 (30:45):
I gotta go.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
I gotta go watch, I gotta go. I still said no.
I kept I said, let me see a boy.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
Five minutes I said, let me see, And by that
point it picked up the seventy five. I said, man,
this is still so's wrong. Turned on the last couple
minutes of the game. Saw But the thing that I
so people have given it a lot of is been
a lot of humming and.
Speaker 3 (31:07):
Hun about ethical basketball and all this and that.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
And I don't take, like, I personally think everybody who
has those conversations all needs to go outside and go
like talk to a girl.
Speaker 6 (31:22):
You know.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
So I'm not here to talk about that part of
it was ethical or not. I thought it was fascinating
how you could see Miami was trying to score the
points for Bam yeah, and the Wizards were trying not
to score the points. That like they were trying their
best to stop bamroom stud to get down right, But
what's your take on that aspect? First, because my whole
(31:42):
thing I have. My take away from all of it
was more Eric Spolstra than anything else.
Speaker 5 (31:47):
So when it was happening, I didn't watch it. I
got a text about it and I was like really,
and I looked. I was like out. So I looked
at the box score. I was like, oh, that's interesting.
Oh he scored how many.
Speaker 4 (31:57):
In the first quarter?
Speaker 11 (31:58):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (31:58):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (31:59):
Oh.
Speaker 5 (32:00):
And then at the end of the night, I was
somebody texting me something about Aaron Judge not doing anything
in the World Baseball Classic.
Speaker 3 (32:05):
Oh who right, Like they were locked into that.
Speaker 11 (32:08):
Somebody says about Aaron Judge and I was like, I'm
more offended that Bam broke Kobe's record.
Speaker 4 (32:12):
That's what I said that night. Okay, So how do
I feel about it?
Speaker 3 (32:15):
Now?
Speaker 4 (32:16):
I good for you, Bam, Good for you. I have
no problem with it.
Speaker 11 (32:22):
I feel like people are just wanting to have an
opinion on it, just to.
Speaker 4 (32:26):
Have an opinion on it, and it's kind of like
he still had to score that. What are we talking about?
Speaker 5 (32:31):
No, Tyler Hero No Norman Powell the top two scores
for the Miami Heat.
Speaker 4 (32:36):
He had forty plus points in the first quarter. This
didn't just happened out of nowhere. It started from the
very beginning.
Speaker 5 (32:42):
And I would be a hypocrite if I told you
that I got to seventy going into a fourth quarter
of a game that I wouldn't try.
Speaker 4 (32:48):
And break that. Wow, I would call myself a hypocrite.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
Good eighty one points was not the scoring record.
Speaker 4 (32:53):
I understand, But here's the problem.
Speaker 3 (32:55):
It's also not the modern night record. The NBA is
only fifty some years old. It's just not the record. Fine,
not a record.
Speaker 5 (33:02):
It's just I'm sorry. But for many people, I know
it's not a legit argument. But the Wilt Chamberlain game
that happened in nineteen sixty two, a month before Dodger
Stadium opened its doors, that wasn't televised, like I to
many people, that's a disconnect.
Speaker 4 (33:18):
It so what I'm sorry, it's a.
Speaker 3 (33:20):
Disconnect right now is shaking his telling me that I am.
Speaker 4 (33:25):
I am just telling you, no matter what is it.
Speaker 3 (33:28):
On you, it didn't exist.
Speaker 5 (33:30):
I'm not saying it didn't, but there is a disconnect.
Speaker 4 (33:34):
There is a disconnect.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
I suggest it's not the RECT.
Speaker 4 (33:38):
No, it's not the RECT. I agree. I'm not disagree.
I'm not disagreeing with that at all. I'm just telling
you what it is. Why that's a conversation.
Speaker 5 (33:45):
It's not the record because because you're people are telling
me there was one hundred point game.
Speaker 4 (33:50):
I have no proof of it, but somebody's people are telling.
Speaker 7 (33:54):
Me, right, people are telling me, and Steve.
Speaker 5 (33:56):
Is not you know what I'm saying, But there is
a disconnect to today's Yeah, NBA fans.
Speaker 2 (34:01):
People told you that who won the nineteen seventeen World Series,
but it had like so, I guess we got to
throw it out right, like because you know, like, what
do you mean?
Speaker 4 (34:10):
I'm not telling you I'm right.
Speaker 5 (34:11):
I'm just I'm just saying that there is a disc
I understand the disconnect.
Speaker 4 (34:15):
Not that I am right, but I understand the disconnect.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
I think that's foolish, sure, And I think that if
this God bless the dead, if Carmelo'briant, Carmelo Bryant, if
Carmelo Anthony, if Carmelo Anthony had scored eighty one points
in an NBA game and then bam Adebio broke that
that second place spot this conversation doesn't even exist.
Speaker 4 (34:42):
Now, I will agree with you.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
But I don't we get all right, let's you know,
let's keep this because I want to talk about Eric
Expolsion what he said.
Speaker 3 (34:49):
We'll do it in about an hour, Okay, because I
want to think about No, No, we'll talk. We stay
here for now.
Speaker 2 (34:53):
But Eric Expulsion said the quiet part out loud, which
is why nobody should have a problem with this at all.
Speaker 5 (34:58):
Sure, Yes, what I forget what I was going to
say is I agree with you in the sense that
Kobe Bryant being attached to the name here is causing
this more of an uproar than it would It wasn't
Kobe Bryant.
Speaker 3 (35:12):
People don't like the way it makes you feel he doesn't.
Speaker 5 (35:15):
And then there's a story of like who was it,
didn't Jason Tatum not break it on purpose?
Speaker 4 (35:20):
Or like there's been two players that I that.
Speaker 3 (35:22):
Have gotten close gotten close to.
Speaker 5 (35:24):
So I feel like there's two players that have gotten
close and they've taken themselves out of it and haven't
Devin Booker.
Speaker 4 (35:29):
Maybe is Devin Booker.
Speaker 6 (35:30):
Devin Booker scored seventy at one point, at one point
five years.
Speaker 2 (35:35):
So like so like all right, but like Klay Thompson
ad but so they're Klay Thompson at sixty two. I
believe through three quarters and sat the fourth quarter. There
are instances of guys who have big blowout. Generally big
blowout like this in early in the second half, we
have a big point total, that will shit. But I
think even in Kobe's game like this is this it
(35:57):
was a single possession in the fourth quarter. I'm not
I'm not faulting somebody for that. Like if you're up
by twenty five, like we see these games where teams
were up by twenty five points at the end of
the third I mean at the start of the third
quarter or end of the third quarter, it's all right, bro,
now you're truly gunning for it. But like if it's
a ten point game in the in the fourth quarter,
(36:20):
if it like it's a a couple of possessions and
you end up scoring, you know, something to add on
making a fifteen to twenty point margin.
Speaker 3 (36:29):
I can't waste tears about that.
Speaker 4 (36:30):
Mariyan just wanted Bam to go for the hundred.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
No, actually, I just the quiet part.
Speaker 2 (36:38):
Eric Sposter said it out loud and nobody wants to
pay any attention to it because it's all about did
he ethical hoopshit?
Speaker 3 (36:45):
They were failing? Did you watch the defenses they were playing?
Speaker 2 (36:48):
Eric Sposter told everybody what it was all about. And
I'll tell you because you weren't listening.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
At what time? Is that?
Speaker 2 (36:56):
Nine? Five, six forty five? I'm coming up next? Damnit Ibio?
Guilty or not guilty? The world says guilty.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
I say let him walk, Yeah, not guilty. We'll do
sports Core coming up next.
Speaker 2 (37:12):
You's the sports you know, as these.
Speaker 3 (37:20):
Mobile users next to me, the mobile error.
Speaker 2 (37:23):
I don't know how to describe it. I was gonna
computer nerds. So if I didn't see it, it didn't happen.
If I don't see it on YouTube in the world
of AI, you're.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
Gonna be in a lot of trouble, buddy.
Speaker 2 (37:34):
You know when you see like Joel embiad holding an
NBA Finals trophy done by chatg ept.
Speaker 3 (37:41):
But I saw it, it happened. I saw it, it happened.
I don't know, we'll never scored a hundred, but I
saw Joeling be with the trophy.
Speaker 11 (37:50):
Now we're really getting away from it, aren't we I'm
just saying, let me tell you, Jo Beat is probably
never gonna have a trophy.
Speaker 3 (37:57):
Hey, if you can make it. You can see.
Speaker 4 (37:58):
Anything these days, handsy anything.
Speaker 3 (38:00):
Yeah, let's play sports school.
Speaker 4 (38:02):
Okay, that's pretty No, that's pretty good.
Speaker 7 (38:10):
Okay, yeah, that was.
Speaker 3 (38:13):
All right.
Speaker 7 (38:14):
That is not what we're saying. But this is not
the time for this conversation.
Speaker 6 (38:17):
So the sports cood have got a list of people
from around the world of sports that we are going
to put on trial here, and that's up to you guys,
the jury, to tell me whether they are guilty or
not guilty of what they're being accused of. So let's
start with Julio Rodriguez stands accused. So, the Mariner's outfielder
was asked by a reporter whether he'd rather win a
World Series or a World Baseball Classic. He responded saying
(38:38):
he'd rather win the World Baseball Classic than a World Series.
Some Mariners fans and baseball fans in general are understandably
upset about that response, But to each his own, what
do you guys think, Julio Rodriguez guilty or not guilty?
Speaker 5 (38:50):
Manzi, Well, Julio Rodriguez can do nothing wrong in my eyes,
so not guilty, did not do it?
Speaker 2 (38:55):
Ah oh, also going that guilty, but these allegations. I'm
also calling the attorney to the staff for a leading question.
Speaker 3 (39:04):
Mary Anders.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
Fans understandably upset you're not paying this salary. He's not
gonna not try to win a World Series. But you
asked him at the World Baseball Class. You're probably go
to say, well, you know what I'm hearing now, might
as well witness day.
Speaker 5 (39:16):
I also feel like in baseball, I think you know,
the best team doesn't necessarily win. It's so hard to
win a World Series and players know that. I feel
like with the World Baseball Classic, it ties into your
family and your heritage, and so it's it doesn't bother me,
but let's get that on TV.
Speaker 4 (39:33):
Bar Yeah, let's put that on TV, for sure. But yeah,
not guilty.
Speaker 6 (39:36):
Ever, Travis Etn stands accused.
Speaker 7 (39:40):
I don't know if that's yeah, well, let's see.
Speaker 6 (39:42):
Former Jaguars running back Travis Etn had his introductory press
conference with the Saints media this week, and during it,
he shared that that isn't even how you pronounce his
name at all. And we've been saying it wrong the
entire time. Apparently it isn't etn, it's a chan. Everybody's confused.
I'm confused. I'm wondering why he didn't bother to let
us know at any point in the last five years
(40:02):
that that's how you pronounce his name. But what do
you guys think, Travis ah Chan guilty or not guilty?
Speaker 3 (40:07):
Martin not guilty.
Speaker 10 (40:09):
These allegations are false.
Speaker 3 (40:11):
It's not a chan, I guilt.
Speaker 2 (40:12):
What he's trying to say like I would now if
I'll try to nail it, but it's like an at
n is. What he was trying to say, is like
it's more of a it's supposed to e t n
H the way like I write his name with three
letters right right, that's what it's not that, and that's
what everybody pronounces it as. And if I had known
it was from Louisiana initially, then I would have agreed,
like I would have understood that, and you would see it.
Speaker 3 (40:35):
You could see the different type of names.
Speaker 4 (40:37):
Not guilty, not guilty.
Speaker 3 (40:40):
Did it.
Speaker 5 (40:42):
Nobody knows how to say my name. It's the story
of my life. Still, I think till this day, people
don't say my name correctly, even when I say it
to them. Montserrat is my name according to my mother.
But as somebody who has experienced that, I don't blame
him at some point, just yeah whatever, Monserrat, Monsrat, Monserrat.
Speaker 6 (41:00):
I just said, yeah, as long as he's not saying
it like telling everyone to call him that, which I
guess maybe he is.
Speaker 7 (41:07):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (41:08):
I think it was just a he's like, you know what,
let me share this.
Speaker 2 (41:11):
Let me set the records right out and being down there,
those are people who actually will know how to say it.
Speaker 4 (41:16):
Correct Yeah, all right.
Speaker 6 (41:18):
Next up, de Jontay Murray stands accused. Pelican's guard. De
Jontay Murray went viral this week for his reaction to
an ankle breaking crossover in his game against the Raptors
on Wednesday. With Jamal Shed guarding him, Murray put some
moves on, sent him flying to the ground, and then
drained the shot. In celebration, he stood over Shed, flexing,
leaning down to get right in his face yell at
him that drew a technical foul.
Speaker 3 (41:38):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (41:38):
People are calling it disrespectful, But what do you guys think?
De Jontay Murray guilty or not guilty?
Speaker 3 (41:43):
I'm gonna go not guilty by principle your runner.
Speaker 1 (41:46):
I objected because it's devastating to my case.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
That's actually a great drop for it. I think what
he did was obscene, Like what is your issue, bro?
Like there's twenty win you you haven't bouked the twenty
five win mark?
Speaker 3 (41:58):
What's the problem. But I think that there's a history there,
and if so, I appreciate.
Speaker 4 (42:03):
Uh, not guilty. I'm innocent, man, we help me. Not guilty.
But he dug his own grave because again, how many
have they won? I don't know why he chose.
Speaker 5 (42:15):
To do that then in that moment. If it was
any other situation, we wouldn't care. I just think he
dug his own grave by doing that.
Speaker 4 (42:21):
But not guilty.
Speaker 2 (42:23):
You know sometimes when they'll be at a psychic and
the FBI guys there, they're like, you couldn't see this coming, Insiders,
you couldn't see this coming.
Speaker 1 (42:30):
Don't listen the Fox Sports.
Speaker 4 (42:36):
I thought you were going to jump in there. So
I was I was wooy here jumping or Martin.
Speaker 3 (42:44):
I was trying to ask the question.
Speaker 4 (42:47):
When were you asking chat Gibt.
Speaker 3 (42:49):
I wasn't asking tat.
Speaker 4 (42:50):
I don't believe it, I'm.
Speaker 2 (42:51):
Not it was Google Gemini, So I was AI, but
gbt im I used to the other. Okay, I was
trying to remember this movie because it's the problem to
google it first. Google is like, what do you want? Sorry,
but no, there's a movie. I'm pretty sure it's analyze
(43:15):
this where all the mobsters. It's like a cut scene
where all the mobsters are getting arrested. You know a
lot of times, just how those movies, Like the final
act of the film has a lot of that's where
the FBI and the mob meet.
Speaker 5 (43:28):
Right, yeah, sorry, Rick Patino looks like he's part of
the mall right now, okay, carry on.
Speaker 4 (43:31):
Look at that pin stripe suit with the red.
Speaker 3 (43:34):
Tie right now. I can make him off. But go
ahead and win the big East the pinstripes.
Speaker 4 (43:41):
Let's do it.
Speaker 2 (43:42):
So like gosh, just hold on tight to that microphone.
You know, it's a ruling broadcasting. Don't let go the
mic don't not go on the microphone, never let go.
Speaker 4 (43:51):
Yeah, because you don't know what's gonna happen, exactly. You
can't these people.
Speaker 3 (43:54):
You're the only one at work. Remember that. Remember that,
so and analyze this.
Speaker 2 (44:00):
They're sitting around and I believe it's I can't remember
his name, the fat guy, big big stuff in his
face while was trying to google it. Yeah, the police
kicking the door. He's at the psychic and he said,
you couldn't have seen this coming.
Speaker 3 (44:14):
Future.
Speaker 2 (44:15):
He's like, you couldn't have the police are here, You
couldn't have seen this coming.
Speaker 3 (44:18):
You couldn't have given me a warning this was gonna happen.
So we were here, Monci.
Speaker 2 (44:24):
I was feeling on the eyd couple when you hear
breaking news. Steve the Sager comes on Max Crosby going
from Vegas to Baltimore, and it James two first round
picks and so on and so forth, and you know,
(44:45):
I sat and I was like, I'm kind of shocked
by this move. I get that the Ravens need a
pass rusher, and I get that the Raiders may feel
like they're not ready to win now. But the point
that I made that at the time was we we've
seen how many first round guys and quarterbacks basically throw
away their rookie year because there's nothing around them.
Speaker 3 (45:09):
Cam Ward's rookie year.
Speaker 2 (45:11):
The Titans are right back in the same spot that
they were before, Like Joe Burrow's rookie year got hurt.
But it's like as soon as Joe Borrow was healthy
and playing, you see the Bengals elevated to a new place.
That's what I feel like. You're looking for the quarterback
and you take him in the first round. So like
when I said, if I'm the Raiders, I wouldn't have
wanted to make that move. I get to two first
(45:31):
round picks, but at a certain point you got to
start winning. And like when I just watch the Patriots
win four games and back to the back years and
go to the super Bowl and the team that was
in the way the super Bowl was the Broncos that
had the most dead cat money in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (45:44):
Prior to that.
Speaker 2 (45:45):
It's like, I think that now, if we're gonna draft
the guy we think he's the guy, we should.
Speaker 3 (45:50):
Go all in and go do it.
Speaker 2 (45:51):
So I don't know if any of the people are
gonna apologize to me about that post.
Speaker 3 (45:56):
Afterwards.
Speaker 2 (45:56):
I was just hating on the Raiders for not for
trading Max Crosby because I think, now if you're sitting there,
the trade being off is a different is a conversation
we can have for sure, But I think It's the
fascinating thing about it is the Raiders aren't a better
spot today than they were when they traded him, like
(46:19):
because you got every once you could get hit back,
like sure, could you have two first one picks, that'd
be great, But all the free agency things that you
were going to do reportedly you were still able to do.
Speaker 3 (46:32):
And you have Max Crosby. I hear.
Speaker 4 (46:35):
I totally hear what you're saying.
Speaker 5 (46:37):
I think the Raiders were just kind of in a
position of all right, Max Crosby is unhappy with us,
because did.
Speaker 4 (46:44):
He outwardly demand a trade?
Speaker 1 (46:47):
No?
Speaker 5 (46:47):
Right, it was just he was unhappy, so he or
did he did I miss that?
Speaker 3 (46:53):
You remember he wanted.
Speaker 5 (46:55):
To play at the end of the season, right, and
so did he say I want to trade after the
like straight out it?
Speaker 4 (47:01):
Or was it implied?
Speaker 2 (47:02):
Jay Glazer said that he Max Rosby's done in Vegas?
Speaker 5 (47:06):
Okay, but we've seen other players outwardly say that they
wanted a trade.
Speaker 1 (47:09):
Right.
Speaker 4 (47:10):
We didn't get that from him.
Speaker 3 (47:12):
Paul Vaty.
Speaker 4 (47:14):
Oh good, all right, great, we got it.
Speaker 2 (47:17):
But no, it was Max Rosby was not happy with
the Raiders organization because of the way that they moved
with all of.
Speaker 4 (47:22):
That and Yendell, but he didn't say I want to trade.
Those words didn't come out of his mouth, right, Those
words did not. That's my point. Okay, So I know
he was unhappy.
Speaker 5 (47:34):
I know at the end of the season, it didn't
It didn't end the way Maybe Raider fans wanted it
to because of the situation with Max Crosby, But I
think Las Vegas was in a position.
Speaker 4 (47:42):
Where they were like, Okay, what do we do. Do
we just keep him because he is a Raider through
and through, or do we actually look to our future?
Speaker 5 (47:49):
As you just said, typically a rookie quarterback coming in
and starting for a team hasn't gone well the last
couple of years. Let's not look at Jayden daniels rookie
year because I think that was more of an outlier
than anything.
Speaker 3 (48:00):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (48:01):
I don't know. I mean, look what happened the second year.
Speaker 2 (48:03):
I understand, But I say, but to me is this,
it's not the rookie year thing. I get you, but
it's like the young quarterback deals what I would get to.
But like, I get it. Okay, his first year, he
goes second year's rough. Dreg May second year he's in
a Super Bowl, right, like I think the younger quarterback thing.
But to you, I'm sorry to mean a cutch.
Speaker 5 (48:19):
On, but the organization around matters, what's around you matters,
and you know that Raiders offensive line was not good,
So putting a rookie quarterback in that situation, you're already
hoping for a lot with the with not much around
your rookie quarterback.
Speaker 4 (48:34):
So I think the Raiders were just kind.
Speaker 5 (48:35):
Of put in a position where they were like, Okay,
if we can find a suitable partner that wants to
give us two first round draft picks, then we're gonna
do that because that way we can look towards the future.
Speaker 4 (48:46):
And somebody did the.
Speaker 3 (48:48):
Raiders got it off or they couldn't refuse, that's what.
Speaker 11 (48:50):
And so you can't blame them for saying yes in
the first place, because moving on from Max Crosby does
signify a change in Las Vegas, not saying that they're
not changing now.
Speaker 4 (49:01):
With Max Crosby. They just had to pivot with him
back on the roster.
Speaker 5 (49:05):
I don't disagree that you're saying that the Raiders right
now seem better in a better position than they were
without Max Crosby with Linderbaum and whatnot, and they still
have to improve the O line and I feel like
that's what they were looking forward with these maybe extra
first round draft picks to help their team.
Speaker 4 (49:24):
They're in a better position. The situation though, is still
very like Raiders.
Speaker 5 (49:31):
Raiders still were the ones that got screwed in the situation.
Speaker 4 (49:36):
Even though they got Max Crosby.
Speaker 11 (49:38):
Again, it's just like all of this, all of this
was really messy and it wasn't handled well by Baltimore.
Speaker 2 (49:43):
Well that's because they thought they were gonna be able
to get the Raiders. I'm saying when I say they
thought they were going to be able to get this
massive package back for Max Crosby. And sure it's the
two first round picks. But again, the thing about like
people say this about the Rams for example, Oh they
just of all their picks. Yeah, they do move a
lot of their first round picks. You know, they move
(50:03):
them for solid ass like players that.
Speaker 3 (50:07):
They know already can play. It can fit. A pick
is nothing but a pick, correct, right.
Speaker 2 (50:12):
So like we assigned a lot of like what is
it about the Vegas Raiders and and I'm saying, got
the two shots in my mouth, because I'm like, when
is the winning supposed to start? Because it's a new organization, right,
but historically wasn't it about the Vegas Raiders that makes
you think that you gave them two shots to the
first round pick, they're gonna have a batter, you know
what I'm saying, Like, yeah, like that's that all of
(50:34):
a sudden. Now you're gonna find two took in the draft,
Jonathan Ogden and Ed Reid in the same draft, like
I would it, Like I don't know.
Speaker 5 (50:42):
But with those picks, you can turn them into getting
a more established player, like even with you know what
I'm saying, that does add to their arsenal of of
players and picks that another team may be interested in
it and to make another move.
Speaker 2 (50:58):
I just if I'm in the business and winning for
fotball games, I'm also not in the business of trading
players I think helped me win games, Like I like,
if I'm trying to Like, if I'm trying to win,
then I'm not trading winning players. And as much losing
as he's done in his career, I think that Max
Crosby is a winning.
Speaker 4 (51:16):
Player, absolutely a winning player.
Speaker 5 (51:19):
But if your winning player wants out or if things
aren't going well with your winning player, you're gonna try.
Speaker 4 (51:24):
And get the most out of it. Dude, what's what
they did that's gonna be here?
Speaker 3 (51:28):
You gonna work here, You work here. I'm sorry, Paul,
but you know.
Speaker 2 (51:33):
If you don't want to work here, you know what
you could have not did just seventeen games ago, sixteen
of what you played it you signed this big old contract.
Speaker 4 (51:40):
I hear you.
Speaker 5 (51:41):
But that's it's a business that they have to protect
themselves for the future.
Speaker 4 (51:45):
And if he doesn't want to be there, then that
changes things.
Speaker 2 (51:49):
Oh wow, a leadoff homer for Team Jim. I'm sorry,
Steve Venezuela hit a leadoff hover who's pitching for Japan
right now?
Speaker 4 (52:00):
She Nobo gives them.
Speaker 3 (52:02):
Wow, how about that? Ronald L.
Speaker 2 (52:04):
Kuni takes Yoshinobu Yamamoto yard leadoff. Say, my little cousin
is a huge Ronald Cooney junior fan. But uh so
he's excited right now. But this World Baseball Classic, here's
the thing about it. Everybody else care, like see like
(52:27):
everybody else cares.
Speaker 3 (52:29):
And this is okay, this is okay.
Speaker 2 (52:32):
We don't And honestly, I'm a okay with it, and
I like it. But every all these other teams care
way more than the United States does. And I'm okay
with that, ye and I and I And I'm not
saying that there's anything I like the way that they
show that they care, right, you know, it's like we
looking at Kunya and I watched a Cuna play I
(52:53):
don't know, probably roughly one hundred and fifty baseball games
in his career, right excluding postseason record sheets of baseball game.
He's in the dugout, slapping his chest, getting high five,
you know, doing everything just I mean, dance is celebrating
all of that.
Speaker 3 (53:11):
I think that's awesome. I think you should be able
to do that.
Speaker 4 (53:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (53:14):
I also think it goes into a little bit like
this tournament is scripted, you know that, right it was
it was written that the USA and Japan cannot see
each other until they get to the final, so like
things would have been readjusted and they had to be
right because.
Speaker 4 (53:31):
USA didn't be Italy. Like the plan was for USA
to go on and.
Speaker 5 (53:35):
Then Japan and the USA to not see each other,
and then USA messed up by losing to Italy and
then they had to readjust it.
Speaker 4 (53:42):
That is a scripted tournament.
Speaker 5 (53:43):
You don't want to see Japan face the US before that,
and they were they said, we will change it if
we have to. So I think Venezuela knows that Japan
is expected to come out of this, like everyone expects
Japan to come out of this, the defending champion Japan,
and he.
Speaker 4 (53:57):
Hit it off of Yoshinobu Yamamotos So for him, it's.
Speaker 5 (53:59):
Like, I'm doing it for Venezuela because no one is
expecting us to come out on this against Japan, and
I'm doing it against the guy that plays with the Dodgers,
who many people don't like as a Dodger. You got
them signed the Dodgers organization.
Speaker 3 (54:13):
People not like.
Speaker 5 (54:14):
Because he's a Dodger, because it's a Dodger, because he's
part because he's.
Speaker 4 (54:17):
Part of the Dodger.
Speaker 2 (54:18):
Because I just asses yes, because he is a dog.
Speaker 3 (54:23):
He is a dog in the batter's box looks at
it but says.
Speaker 4 (54:26):
You're a Dodger.
Speaker 3 (54:27):
Don't like dog, of course.
Speaker 4 (54:30):
So it's like a little bit of both. But this
is you know what I'm saying. It's it's a it's
a bit a scripted.
Speaker 3 (54:36):
It's also exceeded.
Speaker 4 (54:38):
But but I'm telling you they.
Speaker 5 (54:40):
Literally changed it because they don't want US and Japan
to see each other before the final.
Speaker 4 (54:46):
Oh if that's not thank you Mary. If that's not
a scripted tournament, I don't know what is?
Speaker 3 (54:54):
Do you what should we do about it?
Speaker 4 (54:56):
There's nothing we can do about it. It's just what
the world is. Just what people want. People want to
see Japan and USA. People want to see oh Tani
take on.
Speaker 5 (55:04):
I don't know USA players right USA, but it's like
weird because there's so many other you know, MLB players
on other countries obviously, but yeah, they want to see
US and Japan.
Speaker 4 (55:14):
That's what this tournament wants.
Speaker 3 (55:17):
This whole tournament is using the words loosely because like
some of these like he's into it of.
Speaker 2 (55:26):
The Venezuelans, I feel they're actually from Venezuela.
Speaker 3 (55:30):
You know. The Japanese are a lot from from Japan.
Speaker 4 (55:34):
Yeah, but like, like, was it Korea? Is it the
Korea team that you're like, how are really?
Speaker 3 (55:39):
Well, it's just.
Speaker 4 (55:41):
There's the players.
Speaker 2 (55:42):
I'm looking at the Italy team and I google it
and it's like, wait, John Birdie's from Italy.
Speaker 3 (55:48):
Well, I know he's not like, damn, what do you get?
He's played in the majors for like twenty years? When
did that happen? I feel like I would have known.
Oh that's right, I did. I did know.
Speaker 2 (56:02):
Ah, you know, I'll tell you what, Scar shitty MONSI
is the best value that you can have. Sometimes if
you're the only one out there, that's sometimes the best
position to be in.
Speaker 3 (56:14):
And that's what happened for one guy this this summer.
Speaker 2 (56:17):
He was the guy out there and as the result,
he's sitting there in George happiest can be.
Speaker 3 (56:26):
We'll get to that just a minute. Martin Wes's Master
Fox Sports Radio. You want to talk about you know what?
Speaker 2 (56:36):
All right, Martin Wess Monsters Fox Sports Radio, pay phone
by Maroon five and which Khalifa is playing right now?
And I'm oh, I don't have to tell you because
you can hear it. That's MANSI.
Speaker 3 (56:51):
By the way, my mic.
Speaker 4 (56:55):
Was I was singing to you.
Speaker 2 (56:57):
Well, I could hear it through my headphones, so I
don't we still got it. But I'll say this, as
I'm sitting listening and you hear the first few words,
I'm calling, what did kids say? They'll call a cat
there's no chance anybody in the room. Five and when
this song came out was at a pay phone trying
to make a call.
Speaker 3 (57:18):
You can't find any change? You understop it? Who's got change?
Where's the payphone?
Speaker 6 (57:25):
Now?
Speaker 1 (57:25):
Like?
Speaker 12 (57:25):
Oh, I think twenty ten eleven, Barry Mac hold of
you twenty by the time twenty three and two weeks.
Speaker 2 (57:31):
Okay, twenty three and two weeks. So when was your
well how what year was your junior.
Speaker 3 (57:37):
Or in high school? Twenty twenty, twenty twenty. When in
your life have you ever seen a payphone?
Speaker 7 (57:44):
I have seen one.
Speaker 2 (57:45):
How many can you count on one hand how many
payfold you seen in your life?
Speaker 7 (57:50):
I actually was gonna say five.
Speaker 3 (57:51):
Do not lie, okay about this, I don't lie to
me on this radio. Say five, all right, thank you?
I actually really wanted to use one, I'm sure. And
then you know what you did.
Speaker 2 (57:59):
You reached in your back pocket and pulled out your
cell phone, which has existed the entirety of your life, and.
Speaker 3 (58:06):
Then called now, my mom.
Speaker 12 (58:08):
She didn't let me have a payphone until like freshman
year high school.
Speaker 4 (58:10):
Mary used to call.
Speaker 3 (58:11):
They've existed your whole life. You just got one.
Speaker 4 (58:14):
Day twenty twelve when the song came out.
Speaker 5 (58:15):
I do think there were pay phones still, maybe not
as many, but there were still in twenty twelve. I
used to call my mom like a collect call and
then just say my name and hang up, like because
she wouldn't accept it.
Speaker 4 (58:26):
Steve to sing talking about.
Speaker 5 (58:27):
Like you make you make a collect call, but then
they're like, oh blah blah blah.
Speaker 4 (58:32):
Call youck me up and I don't hang up and
then that's it. And then yeah, so I used to
do it.
Speaker 3 (58:36):
I don't know, Steve, was it on YouTube? Maybe didn't
it ever happened?
Speaker 4 (58:39):
Well? I lived it, so I lived it, so I
can tell you there may be a disconnect for Mary,
but for me there is it because I lived.
Speaker 3 (58:47):
There one day. You know what I'm saying. If you
end up, if you end up having kid.
Speaker 2 (58:50):
Yourself, you're talking to your little little crump snatchers, as
my dad would say, and you're gonna be like, yeah,
you know what I used to do.
Speaker 3 (58:56):
I used to I used to call collect. They'd be
like collect what He'd be like, No, what happened?
Speaker 2 (59:02):
He'd be like, I don't know, I didn't see it
was a disconnect. No, we're disconnected with the phone was.
Speaker 4 (59:06):
Disconnected, So you respect your elders. That's what I'm gonna
tell them.
Speaker 3 (59:11):
It is. That's what Will said. That's what Will tried
to say.
Speaker 2 (59:18):
It's conference tournament's weekend selection Sunday is tomorrow, and Miami
of Ohio not playing in the championship game. They've lost
one time one this season. And I'm here to tell you, Manci.
Speaker 4 (59:35):
What are you gonna say to me? Don't upset me.
Speaker 3 (59:38):
Oh I don't pretend to know what's gonna upset you
into what won't. But well, I do know this.
Speaker 4 (59:46):
You know how I feel about this. I texted it.
Speaker 2 (59:48):
If you go that's true. If you go undefeated in
the regular season and you do not make the postseason
in college basketball, then it's just time to cancel the sport.
Speaker 4 (01:00:03):
Okay, good, good.
Speaker 3 (01:00:04):
It's time to cancel the sport.
Speaker 4 (01:00:06):
Yes, I agree with you.
Speaker 3 (01:00:07):
I understand that they won.
Speaker 2 (01:00:10):
Miami of Ohio won a game by you know, they've won,
been tight margins, double overtime.
Speaker 6 (01:00:17):
All this.
Speaker 3 (01:00:17):
But you know what they didn't do. They didn't lose.
Speaker 2 (01:00:21):
And I know that Miami of Ohio has got a
snowballs chance in hell to win the whole thing. But
that shouldn't matter in terms of who's going to make
a sixty eight team tournament. The entire freaking field is
(01:00:41):
sixty eight teams, first four.
Speaker 3 (01:00:44):
And all of that.
Speaker 2 (01:00:45):
Even when it was sixty four teams, even if it
was fifty teams, if it was thirty two teams, it
still really wouldn't matter, because, just like in every other
sport that we have on this continent, if we're being
honest with ourselves, there are three or four teams that
(01:01:06):
can really win it, maybe two or three more that
have a shot, and everybody else is just filling out
the dance card.
Speaker 5 (01:01:15):
I could not agree with you more, you know, And
I'm glad you said that, because as you spend more
time more of your you know, history with college sports
than I have, I wasn't sure how you felt about this,
but I agree.
Speaker 4 (01:01:28):
It's like the field is way too big to even
consider them not making it. They're not gonna win. That's
not the point of this.
Speaker 5 (01:01:35):
The point is give them an ATA boy for going
undefeated in the regular season.
Speaker 4 (01:01:41):
Good job.
Speaker 5 (01:01:41):
That is not easy to do by any stretch of
the imagination, even if even.
Speaker 4 (01:01:45):
If it is what you considered an easy schedule.
Speaker 5 (01:01:47):
When I read that they try to book games against
better teams and they didn't.
Speaker 4 (01:01:52):
They didn't get it. They tried, so it makes no sense.
Speaker 5 (01:01:55):
Losing obviously in their tournament is not what they wanted,
but they still went undefeated in the regular season, and
that has to matter.
Speaker 4 (01:02:01):
That has to matter.
Speaker 5 (01:02:02):
If Shake Gil Just Alexander can break Wilt Chamberlain's record
for the most consecutive twenty point games with one hundred
and twenty seven, and that only includes regular season, then
we can let them in because he did not make
twenty points in a playoff game. So if we're gonna
if we're gonna say regular season matters in that sense,
then let it matter. Also when it comes to the
Big Dance.
Speaker 2 (01:02:19):
I'm gonna take a wild guess and guess that the
last time Shake Guilds of Alexander was held below twenty
points would have been Round one last year against the
Clippers against the the way that I'm asking, if the
way that you looked made it look like you knew it,
like you knew that it was a postseason game against
(01:02:42):
the Clippers, and when Shay did not score over twenty points,
and that's why you said this has an asterisk on it.
Speaker 5 (01:02:48):
No, No, it wasn't against It actually was not against
the Clippers. It's just this is what everybody was talking
about because it was like, it's not a it's a
regular season award. It's not, you know, playoff, a playoff award.
But he didn't score twenty against the Raptors. Actually, so
not the Clippers. Not the Clippers A lot years ago,
(01:03:10):
like in his first year.
Speaker 4 (01:03:11):
Is okay?
Speaker 2 (01:03:11):
See, I think I was about to say that would
have had to have been in the regular season.
Speaker 4 (01:03:14):
Because oh it was, it was it was supposed to be.
It was like years ago. It was I think his
first postseason. So three years ago, was that his first
post season free sounds about right. Maybe it wasn't the Raptors.
I thought it was the Raptors.
Speaker 3 (01:03:24):
It couldn't have been.
Speaker 4 (01:03:25):
Let me see you hold on because they.
Speaker 2 (01:03:27):
Would have had to play in the finals because she's
always been in the West.
Speaker 4 (01:03:31):
Let me tell you, I'll tell you, give me two seconds.
Speaker 3 (01:03:33):
You know what, while you're going to got it.
Speaker 4 (01:03:35):
I looked at it.
Speaker 3 (01:03:36):
I got it.
Speaker 4 (01:03:37):
I got it.
Speaker 5 (01:03:37):
It was against the Spurs. Makes Does that make more sense?
That's makes more sense. Maybe he did not score against
the Raptors, but that was something else.
Speaker 4 (01:03:46):
It was against the Spurs. He only had eighteen points.
Speaker 2 (01:03:51):
It makes a lot more sense go from that to
something that didn't make a ton of sense to me
on its face. But when you look at the contract,
it's really not that bad. And we're actually seeing a
team get out of a contracts just as similar today.
That is what a new NFL free agent. All right,
I'm sorry former NFL free agent is going to have
(01:04:11):
to deal with. We'll get to that in just a minute,
but first Steve de Seger will update us on the
uh the bombs away down there at the World Baseball Classic.
Speaker 3 (01:04:20):
Huh yes, sir.
Speaker 9 (01:04:21):
And by the way, I love how this last topic started.
Speaker 3 (01:04:24):
You bring up the topic.
Speaker 9 (01:04:25):
She says, don't make me mad, and your response is,
I have no idea what will make you matter? I
don't pay like a man who is married, because absolutely
that is the response.
Speaker 3 (01:04:36):
Predict what makes you mad? I can't.
Speaker 2 (01:04:39):
It's like saying it's like say I predict a lottery numbers.
What I was supposed to do here?
Speaker 3 (01:04:44):
I don't know.
Speaker 9 (01:04:46):
Clearly that last SGA game under twenty would have been
early in a season, not late in the previous season anyway,
quite a start to the quarterfinal of the World Baseball
Classic that's on Fox TV right now. Japan four and
oh facing Venezuela and Japanese starting pitcher from the Dodgers,
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, allowed a leadoff homer to Ronald Acunya, and
(01:05:08):
then the starting pitcher for Venezuela, now with the Red Sox,
pitcher Ranger Suarez ex of Philadelphia, allowed a leadoff homer
bottom of the first to show hey Otani. Bad news
for Japan Cubs outfielder Sea Suzuki has limped off after
he was caught stealing to end the previous frame. The
game is in the top of the second. Japan won
(01:05:29):
Venezuela one. The winner goes to a Monday night semifinal
against Italy, which is five to zero in the tournament,
eliminating Puerto Rico today eight to six. It was an
eight to two lead in the fourth inning. Attendants thirty
four thousand in Houston for that one Sunday night. In
a semifinal, the USA and pitcher Pol Skeins go up
against the incredible lineup of the Dominican Republic to college
(01:05:51):
basketball finals. Duke ranked number one in the country only
leads at halftime thirty eight thirty six against tenth ranked Virginia.
Number two Arizona beat fifth ranked Houston to win the
Big twelve seventy nine seventy four in Kansas City, where
they're actually playing on a hardwood court these days. In
the Big East Final in New York City, Saint John's
(01:06:13):
seventy two fifty two over Yukon. Akron has come back
to tie the MATC Conference Championship game sixty three all
against Toledo under eight minutes to go. And we've got
coming up in a half an hour Hawaii against UC
Irvine in the Vegas area for the Big West Final,
and Las Vegas is hosting at midnight Eastern Utah Valley
(01:06:36):
in the WAC Tournament final against Cal Baptist.
Speaker 3 (01:06:39):
By the way.
Speaker 9 (01:06:39):
In the SEC SEMIS, Arkansas won in overtime against Old Miss,
Vanderbilt beat Florida ninety one seventy four in the Big
ten SEMIS. Number three Michigan on a last second three
pointer beat Wisconsin, and Purdue defeated UCLA Mountain West winner
Utah State America East Championship goes to UMBC and Howard
(01:07:00):
took the MIAC Final. In the NBA, Boston sent Washington
to an eleventh straight loss, won eleven one hundred. Atlanta
won its ninth game in a row, one twenty two
to ninety nine against Milwaukee. NHL wins for the Rangers
in Winnipeg. Ludwig Oberg leads the players by three strokes,
and the New York Giants signed wide receiver Darnell Mooney,
(01:07:21):
who was cut by Atlanta.
Speaker 2 (01:07:22):
Back to you thanks Steve as Venezuela action another one
off of Yamamoto two to one.
Speaker 3 (01:07:29):
Now Venezuela is leading who hit that.
Speaker 9 (01:07:35):
They haven't gone back to the top of the lineup,
so it looks like Cleve bar tourist.
Speaker 2 (01:07:38):
There you go, glavor tourist who was having trouble getting
into the lineup earlier.
Speaker 3 (01:07:42):
That's all I believe I saw. It's like shows you
how stack some of these teams really are.
Speaker 9 (01:07:47):
That dr lineup for tomorrow night against the US. I mean,
I know they may not have the pitching of the US,
but it's silly. This is like an All Star game.
Speaker 4 (01:07:55):
It really is. Yeah, it really is. So Mancie, all right,
can I correct myself one more time? Because I was wrong.
Speaker 3 (01:08:02):
I was wrong again, all right, let's rewind.
Speaker 5 (01:08:04):
Let's r the last time that he scored that he
scored under twenty in a regular season game was against
the Spurs Shake Gildes Alexander, but that was in twenty
twenty four.
Speaker 4 (01:08:14):
In October twenty twenty four.
Speaker 5 (01:08:16):
He scored eighteen against the Spurs, but that was regular season,
so that's when the streak, you know, really began. The
last time that he didn't score twenty, just in general,
was in the playoffs last year May of twenty twenty
five against Denver.
Speaker 9 (01:08:31):
So you bring up a good point. All these records
count regular season games exactly, whereas the great baseball record
that oral Herscheiser said, if consecutive scoreless innings pitched in
his very next start after the regular season ended, he
pitched eight more scoreless innings and they don't count that
on his total, that was his very next start, I.
Speaker 4 (01:08:50):
Would be mad. Of course they should.
Speaker 5 (01:08:52):
They absolutely it should count.
Speaker 9 (01:08:55):
The real record should be sixty seven straight scoreless innings,
not fifty nine.
Speaker 3 (01:09:00):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:09:00):
Hold on one second, Steve, let me pull up YouTube
and see if I can find if this existed. This
confirmation to make sure all highsizer actually did pitch all
those scorelessents a way.
Speaker 9 (01:09:10):
That Will Chamberlain the hundred point Wilt Chamberlain game in
the early sixties, There is actually I have heard it.
The radio broadcast does exist, aside from the interviews that
we've seen NBA TV of the actual statistician of the game,
who back in those days was also the pr guy
at the game, to verify that all that went on
that we thought actually went on. But the thing is
(01:09:33):
some station had heard about the result of the game,
and somebody taped the midnight replay of the radio station,
and that's why we have the recording of that game.
Wow genius, Wow, Because that was a Philadelphia game that
wasn't played in Philadelphia that night. It was Hershey, Pa,
so not a lot of writers.
Speaker 3 (01:09:51):
Went to it, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:09:53):
And when Bam scored eighty three points, that was just
a regular season Washington Wizards game, so not a lot
of writers were at that one.
Speaker 9 (01:10:00):
Actually, by the fourth quarter, it looks like some of
my school yard games. Let's miss a free throw on
purpose so we can get the ball to sell it.
Speaker 3 (01:10:07):
So, yeah, it was embarrassing. I think it's the word.
Speaker 2 (01:10:11):
Yeah, that was a tough scene looking at mister eighty
three points himself right now they're playing New Orlando Magic.
Speaker 9 (01:10:19):
Really, he's not taking the season off after that, you
know it came to work the next day.
Speaker 4 (01:10:24):
And drop twenty one. I think the next game did.
Speaker 3 (01:10:26):
With the iHeart Radio app, you can stream us wherever
you happen to be.
Speaker 2 (01:10:29):

Speaker 3 (01:10:32):

Speaker 2 (01:10:34):
Just search Fox Sports Radio and the app to stream
us live all day, every day, and be sure to
select Fox Sports Radio as one of your presets in
the iHeart app and it will always pop.
Speaker 3 (01:10:43):
Up at the top of your screen.
Speaker 2 (01:10:45):
We'll talk a little bit more about that about ten minutes,
But first, MONSI.
Speaker 3 (01:10:50):
Do you think has there been okay, what do you think.
Speaker 2 (01:10:57):
The equivalent, the radio equivalent, like leak willis right now,
would be like if you got hired, if they were
like if Dan Patrick was like like just think about it,
think about it, like we've shows for like a year
and they're like, you know what, dan Patrick out you
guys in yes right now?
Speaker 3 (01:11:15):
You guys good? Ready? Am I going with that?
Speaker 4 (01:11:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:11:17):
I think we both would be like, sure, yeah, let's
do it. We've both let's do it.
Speaker 4 (01:11:22):
Let's do it.
Speaker 3 (01:11:23):
But I might show up in George, I don't know
if I'm ready, just saying I don't know if it's
Are we sure there's enough there? Sure enough time there?
Because that's a big job, man, that's a really big spot.
Like we shut there's only been a year really together?
Speaker 5 (01:11:40):
Are we sure that's a that's a big decision.
Speaker 2 (01:11:44):
Are they going to be able to work? Are we sure,
like a year and a half or now, we're not
going to regret this? I think they might be Dolphins, Mike.
That's why they offered them the contract that they did,
because if you look at it, it's three years, sixty
some million dollars, But it really breaks down with the
guarantees of two years forty million dollars with the New
York Jets are showing you right now, if we don't
(01:12:05):
like the first year, we'll be perfectly fine.
Speaker 3 (01:12:07):
We'll cut in the second year. Two years, forty million dollars.
That's a few right, right.
Speaker 4 (01:12:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:12:13):
I don't know what to make of this, to be
honest with you, Martin, because obviously the Dolphins, obviously I'm
hoping the Dolphins did their due diligence, their homework, and
whatever tape they saw Malik Willis with green Bay they
must have really liked. And I hope that they also
realize green Bay is.
Speaker 4 (01:12:32):
A good team.
Speaker 5 (01:12:33):
Just is a good team around him, he had everything
supporting him to be successful Miami.
Speaker 4 (01:12:41):
Maybe the question marks.
Speaker 5 (01:12:42):
Are around Miami for me, like what is Miami gonna
bring to the table for Malik Willis. Maybe that's how
I'm looking at this, where I don't know what to
make of the signing, but maybe it's the Dolphins. I
have questions regarding the Dolphins.
Speaker 2 (01:12:57):
I'll look at it like this because free agents see
free agency is shopping for a used car flatly, because
let's be honest, if in fact the player that you
acquire free agency was the top of market, they would
(01:13:20):
be with their own team, their team. The negotiation windows
they're so long in the NFL. The team has so
much power in the NFL. What do you really see
a everybody gets a second contract unless you don't, right,
But like you know what I'm saying, Like we were
looking at these part of the reason we know Kyler
(01:13:41):
Murray has study habit issues or whatever is because he
got a second contract. Right, He's not exactly the reclamation
project that you would look at of Daniel Jones or
Malik Willis for that matter, because those guys didn't get
second contracts with their initial team.
Speaker 3 (01:13:58):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
This to me, though, if it was going, I like
it for Miami better than for anywhere else because the
brain trust in Miami obviously came from Green Bay. It's
the difference between buying a used car from a buy now,
pay later lot might work out just fine, Right, I've
bought my fair share and they run like that.
Speaker 3 (01:14:23):
This is not a shady lot.
Speaker 2 (01:14:25):
It's just you don't have a lot of the protections
that you would have went to the dealership. But that's
why the car is gonna be seven thousand dollars, you
know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:14:32):
The it's got airbags, we're gonna be straight.
Speaker 2 (01:14:35):
Or buying a used car from Grandma or like, you know,
getting the ground getting Grandma's car after she passes away,
because you know, Grandma was driving to the grocery store
and to Bridge on Wednesday nights and to church on Sunday,
and that's really the only time that Jeep ever left
the garage, right, so you know, and then she got
gassed once a month because that's all she needed to
(01:14:57):
get was gas once a month, right, because that's all
she was you know. Let you go to Raffs on Tuesday,
Bridge on Wednesday, church on Sunday, and that was all
she was doing, just.
Speaker 4 (01:15:05):
Pupping problems during that time.
Speaker 3 (01:15:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:15:07):
So yeah, this car is twenty five years old, understood,
But look why it only has seventy thousand miles on
it Because she only drove seventy thousand miles to twenty
five years.
Speaker 3 (01:15:15):
That's what you don't.
Speaker 2 (01:15:15):
Get, you know, as opposed to Nah, this car is
beat up, you know, turn around, all messed up.
Speaker 3 (01:15:22):
You know, that's what the Dolphins were able to do.
Speaker 5 (01:15:24):
Love this comparison, by the way, Well I don't know
if you thought of it beforehand or if it just
popped into your head, but it is phenomenal.
Speaker 4 (01:15:30):
I love it.
Speaker 11 (01:15:31):
Yeah, I agree with you, because Malik Willis is they
went with the exact opposite of Tatakova la You.
Speaker 4 (01:15:39):
Know what I meant.
Speaker 5 (01:15:39):
They went with a dual threat quarterback, something that they
didn't have the last couple of years.
Speaker 4 (01:15:44):
That is not what Tua is.
Speaker 5 (01:15:46):
So they obviously wanted something completely different, completely change the
identity that was the Dolphins for the last three years,
and I I think there's more upside than there is downside.
Speaker 4 (01:15:59):
But again, you have to provide.
Speaker 5 (01:16:01):
The right pieces for Malik Willis to succeed because the
Packers are a complete a pretty complete team.
Speaker 3 (01:16:09):
I know this.
Speaker 2 (01:16:11):
I wish somebody would fool owd with that little amount
of tape on the resume. Right with that little I mean, some.
Speaker 3 (01:16:23):
People get all the lucked, I'd say.
Speaker 2 (01:16:24):
And I'm not wishing anything. I'm not trying to talk
mess on Malik Willis. He seems like a nice kid.
Speaker 4 (01:16:29):
And look, he won important games for the Packers leader
last year.
Speaker 3 (01:16:32):
He did.
Speaker 2 (01:16:33):
But in one of those games I was looking it up,
he completed date passes.
Speaker 4 (01:16:37):
Yeah, but that's okay.
Speaker 5 (01:16:38):
I mean the organization right, the team around him, how
are you going to help him be successful?
Speaker 4 (01:16:43):
Miami?
Speaker 2 (01:16:44):
So I think ultimately what it was down to is
they're not going to be successful. It's going to be
a bad team again. But the ultimate thing is you
run Malik Willis out there. You see, if you have
something again, you can get out of this contract like that.
Speaker 3 (01:16:59):
It's very easy.
Speaker 2 (01:17:00):
Just look at justin fields and the guaranteed money is
about the same.
Speaker 3 (01:17:04):
And guess what we've seen in this in.
Speaker 2 (01:17:06):
Today's NFL, they don't give a good dog on what
the guaranteed money is to because I'll go ahead and
take a hundred million dollars of deadcat money and deal
with that later.
Speaker 3 (01:17:16):
All Right, We've pushed it off long enough.
Speaker 2 (01:17:19):
I'm looking right now the Miami Heat could use Bam
atabiotus are hunting some shots. They only have sixty six
points with six minutes left in the third quarter. I'm
gonna tell you why not only am I.
Speaker 3 (01:17:34):
I'm gonna tell you what.
Speaker 2 (01:17:35):
I'm not upset about BAM's eighty three because of one
thing that Eric Spolster said. We're gonna play the sound
coming up next, and that's what That's really what I'm
upset about. All Right, we'll get to that coming on that.
Martin wants to Belinos Fox Sports Radio. Martin Wis Monster
Beloos coming to you live from the Fox Sports Radio studios.
Speaker 3 (01:17:58):
You can hit it us, hit us up on Twitter.
Speaker 2 (01:18:01):
I'm at Martin Wise, Moncey's at Monty Blos. You're one
hundred percent off on buying Grandma's car. The less used
isn't a good thing. Short trips create all sorts of leaks. Yeah,
buy one at least hunter K on it. Yeah all right, yeah,
I know, thanks a lot. Truck stop fungus. Oh he
listens to Mallor all the time. I guess he's one
(01:18:22):
of the uh the militia truck stop fungus. Yes, buy
with at least one hundred K on it. Yeah that
is it's not bad like a used car with only
like sixty thousand miles on it. Dore's got You know,
it's gonna be a lot of issues. You need to
have one that's been used a little bit. I love
Mike Evans from JJ Bigfoot. Listen to Monsy he is
(01:18:42):
that guy. And Devin Pendergrast says Martin sounds drunk as
hell on the air right now.
Speaker 3 (01:18:47):
I'm not, but thanks for listening.
Speaker 4 (01:18:50):
He's definitely not. He smells good, but he's not drunk.
Speaker 3 (01:18:54):
So and it's actually called Distiller's gin.
Speaker 4 (01:18:57):
Oh yeah, it's a good one. It's a good one.
Speaker 3 (01:19:00):
Freaking knocks them out. Yeah, tell you.
Speaker 2 (01:19:02):
Speaking of knocking him out, bam Adebayo knocked them out.
Washington eighty three points had issue defining record He's now
the second highest point total ever in the NBA, which
is disconnected or not. Will did score one hundred points
in the game. They've talked about it, however, Eric Spolser
talked about bam Adebayo and his eighty three point outing.
(01:19:26):
This is actually not immediately following the game. This is
following the twenty four hour news cycle that happened after
the game, in which Eric spols just said this.
Speaker 13 (01:19:36):
I apologize to absolutely no one yeap period. And you know,
going into the game, you know, it's a Tuesday night
game against a team, whether they're not playing for anything,
whether organization is trying to lose.
Speaker 14 (01:19:52):
We've already lost the game. You know, in that kind
of situation, we have players that are sitting out and
I I spoke to bam about I want, as our
best player on team captain for him to be locked
in and ready, and he sure.
Speaker 2 (01:20:08):
Was, so he's he's said the choir port, I love
MOSSI going in. It's a Tuesday night against a team
that is trying to lose.
Speaker 3 (01:20:23):
Everybody just doesn't like the way that this felt, because the.
Speaker 2 (01:20:27):
Wizards would have much rather forfeited the game than actually
have played it.
Speaker 4 (01:20:33):
Seems that way. Don't let him score forty plus in
the first quarter.
Speaker 3 (01:20:37):
Hello, And so I'm with Spoe.
Speaker 2 (01:20:41):
Honestly, if I'm this game, if I'm a coaching point, nah,
I told we have guys sitting out, We have guys hurt.
BAM's a two time gold medalist, You're our best player,
a team captain. You're gonna be out there. You gotta
play because we don't. We are not in the business
of losing game. I respect that.
Speaker 5 (01:21:02):
Especially the heat you know, on the in the Eastern Conference,
like not that they're gonna do much, but they're not
trying to get into the playing tournament.
Speaker 4 (01:21:11):
They're trying. They're above it and they're trying to stay there.
So they needed to win.
Speaker 5 (01:21:14):
But I feel like that some people, it's like they're
mad about the free throws. They're mad that Bam is
not like a shooter, you know, like a natural shooter.
Speaker 4 (01:21:23):
That's not what he's there for. He's not a high
scoring player. But I feel like I don't care about
the freight throws.
Speaker 5 (01:21:28):
And I think it's cool that a player that is
not a straight up scorer like a Devin Booker, like
a Lilugadancic was able to do this, and I don't
think it was the plan going into it. I just
think it kind of happened before their eyes where it became.
Speaker 3 (01:21:42):
I think that's what happened. He got the he got.
Speaker 2 (01:21:44):
The quarter cause you said, like you want to be
locked dead coach.
Speaker 3 (01:21:50):
I got it unlocked dead coach.
Speaker 4 (01:21:51):
I would have been like, I'm going for one to twenty.
Speaker 2 (01:21:53):
I also find this to be one of the biggest
like whenever you would people achieve something and everybody's like, man,
that kind of stunk, it's like that's gotta hurt.
Speaker 5 (01:22:03):
Yeah, And I'm glad that said what he did because
he was like, apologies, know what, You're right, You're right,
and I'm glad that Bam is also sticking up for
what he did.
Speaker 4 (01:22:12):
Good for you, Bam, you dropped dating three points NCI.
Speaker 2 (01:22:16):
Every year in the NFL, we have teams go from
worst to first in division and maybe worse to just
stay in worse because sometimes they just think we'll tell.
Speaker 3 (01:22:26):
You who's going to do that. Next Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:22:32):
That's right, and we're broadcasting live from the Fox Sports
Radio studios here in a Fox Sports Saturday.
Speaker 3 (01:22:39):
You know, Monsti is secretly the Lakers the last few days.
Speaker 4 (01:22:46):
You know, it wins together.
Speaker 3 (01:22:48):
I was kind of doing and gloom. I think it
correlates with Lebron shaving all of his head.
Speaker 4 (01:22:53):
It was about time, about.
Speaker 3 (01:22:55):
Time, it needed to happen a long time.
Speaker 4 (01:22:59):
Accept it, Lebron.
Speaker 2 (01:23:00):
But it seems as if we are at like lebron
hair is at an all time low. And I think
that the lower that it gets because you gotta be
honest with yourself. And I think that that was really
you were talking all these problems with the Lakers.
Speaker 3 (01:23:14):
They don't play.
Speaker 2 (01:23:15):
Defense to big three to the face like this also
needs to be truth with self. Sure, And I think
now that we see the honesty, now we're seeing a
little bit more winning.
Speaker 5 (01:23:23):
Yeah, it didn't help that the Lakers were winning without Lebron.
They won like a few games without Lebron, right and
then he came back and they still won.
Speaker 4 (01:23:31):
And right now they're up again against Denver in LA.
Speaker 5 (01:23:34):
And it's not like Denver is playing without Nicola Jokic
or without Aaron Gordon.
Speaker 4 (01:23:38):
I see them both on the court.
Speaker 5 (01:23:40):
So yeah, right now LA Lakers are putting some wins
together with Lebron in his shaved head.
Speaker 2 (01:23:47):
Jokis she's got nothing for a dominating DeAndre eight.
Speaker 4 (01:23:50):
Okay, okay, let's let's let's.
Speaker 3 (01:23:53):
Not so you know, I almost said this, but it's
really not true.
Speaker 2 (01:23:58):
NFL free agency is almost over, except I'll phrase it
like this, NFL free agency excluding Aaron Rodgers division is
almost over. When we were seeing you can tell Monsei
and I know that you know this as somebody who
sits at the update desk much more frequently than I
do and does a much better job at the night
(01:24:20):
By the way, Tim Hardomer Junior versus Lebron trying to
dunk in each other YouTube that that's that's incredible. But
you notice the fact Wednesday, at four o'clock Eastern, one
o'clock Pacific, you start to see all the money comes out.
It's like three years, sixty seven million dollars from Lague
(01:24:42):
Willis and all. By about Friday you just see XYZ
player has signed with this team. Because nobody wants to
brag about the money anyway, I say, you know, the
things are dwindling down. So these teams will add some
draft pick obviously in the upcoming NFL draft, but the
(01:25:04):
teams are pretty much what they are, and so Ian
brought up a good, good question for us to discuss today.
Our producer Ian Roddy said, and this is one that
he's familiar with as a team that drafts in the
top five, quite a bit fan of the New York Jets.
But we talked about, you know, team goes from worse
(01:25:24):
to first every year, and so oftentimes we see a
team go.
Speaker 3 (01:25:29):
From first to third or worst or.
Speaker 2 (01:25:32):
So on or like you know, the Vikings were not
though one they weren't that they didn't win the NFC North,
but they won fourteen games, then all of a sudden they.
Speaker 3 (01:25:40):
Last in the division. It moves quick, is what I'm
trying to say.
Speaker 2 (01:25:45):
He is set up the top five of the NFL draft,
and we're trying to trying to spot a team that
we think won't be here next year.
Speaker 6 (01:25:52):
All right, So picking first overall, talked about it plenty
Las Vegas Raiders, and everyone assumes they're gonna take for
Nana mendoz A. Number two the New York Jets. That's
where things get interesting. Really a lot of possibilities there.
Number three is the Arizona Cardinals. Number four is the
Tennessee Titans, and rounding out the top five is the
New York Giants.
Speaker 2 (01:26:14):
Okay, who Munts of the list do you think will
be back? Like picking right back where they were a
year from now, or if you want to go the
other way, which one of these do you think is
not going to be back?
Speaker 4 (01:26:29):
Okay?
Speaker 5 (01:26:30):
I think I'm sorry, Ian, I think the Jets are
going to be right back in a top five position,
if not the number one Overa'll pick next year.
Speaker 4 (01:26:44):
The Jets schedule. Have you looked at who they're playing?
Speaker 5 (01:26:48):
It is not an easy schedule for the Jets. It's
tough through and through, and then you get Geno Smith
and you know, I maybe they were like, well, Geno
Smith helped Raiders get the number one overall pick, maybe
he can help us get the number one overall pick.
Speaker 4 (01:27:04):
Come on over Dante Moore.
Speaker 3 (01:27:10):
Here.
Speaker 2 (01:27:11):
But I think they will be little I would borderline,
and maybe this is just hoping on hope.
Speaker 3 (01:27:18):
For Aaron Glenn. It cannot be as bad as it
was last year. It simply can't. It simply can't.
Speaker 2 (01:27:25):
It can't look worse like there's an abject dissester, like
you know what I'm saying, It was like if that
was like the desert.
Speaker 3 (01:27:33):
Yeah, in terms of just everything. One tree would make
it look so much better. Just a little shade.
Speaker 5 (01:27:39):
Yeah, one interception, that's as good as it's gonna get.
Speaker 4 (01:27:42):
That's gonna be the improved. Guys.
Speaker 6 (01:27:43):
Know, they just traded for Menka Fitzpatrick who had one
interception there, so.
Speaker 4 (01:27:47):
You get one and that is going to be.
Speaker 7 (01:27:48):
More than the entire team has.
Speaker 4 (01:27:50):
But I actually think.
Speaker 5 (01:27:53):
I see the opposite of what you say in the
sense of like because Aaron Glenn is return, I mean
you're saying there's no way it can't be as bad.
I'm saying it actually can be just as bad while
all these other teams have a new coach.
Speaker 3 (01:28:06):
But I don't think maybe he's just sticking on priors.
Speaker 2 (01:28:12):
There has not been much to show, if had anything
at all over the first seventeen games, that Aaron Glenn
is going to be a redeemable NFL coach.
Speaker 3 (01:28:23):
But I thought when he got hired, I really liked
the move.
Speaker 2 (01:28:27):
I really liked every stop he had prior to And
part of the reason why I liked it so much
is because Aaron Glenn came up as a scout and
he really did a good job.
Speaker 3 (01:28:37):
And you could go back and draw a line.
Speaker 2 (01:28:40):
Guys, Aaron Glynn scouted in the way that they turned
out as players. So that tells me I want to
give him a little more time to get more of
his guys in and then if they hadn't midway through
the season, I liked the team quit absolutely, But they
also traded away Clinton Williams, the sauce gardener and all that.
(01:29:02):
But I was clamoring, listen, man, this thing is done.
The Titanic is sinking. You might as well throw out
this stuff now and get the picks as you can
get back, because it is it is time to rebuild.
Speaker 3 (01:29:15):
We have to rise from the ashes.
Speaker 2 (01:29:16):
Around here because this thing where there's no renovation is
going to be able to happen. So and so, I
don't know if I'm mixing my analysis with rooting a
little bit. I do think the Dolphins are going to
be terrible. I thought the Dolphins gonna be the worst
thing with football last year. I think they're going to
be competing for that again. If I had to spot
one here right now, though, there's the.
Speaker 3 (01:29:37):
Cardin is gonna have to number more picking the draft
next year.
Speaker 4 (01:29:40):
Really, why do you think that?
Speaker 2 (01:29:41):
Well, because first of all, my see, you got the
defending super Bowl champions, and everybody doesn't even think that's
the best team. The team that everybody thinks is the
best team the Rams, and then everybody's favorite co coach,
and Mike Evans just told you the forty nine ers
(01:30:04):
are a piece away.
Speaker 3 (01:30:06):
Those are six games just off the top.
Speaker 2 (01:30:08):
You talk about who you got to playouts side of
the division, welcome to your division. That's like Ali, Fraser
and Holmes, but you got home and away for all
of them.
Speaker 4 (01:30:17):
I hear you.
Speaker 5 (01:30:18):
But I think because of what I told you in
the last hour when we were just talking about the
NFL in general, there were times many games last year
where I thought the Cardinals actually looked good and then
it just got away from them in the fourth quarter.
So that's what I'm holding on to as you're holding
on to the Jets because of Aaron Glenn and he
was a scout, he was also part of your Lions
(01:30:39):
for a long time.
Speaker 3 (01:30:40):
Well just thought I thought, when you look at all
the injuries, I thought he did well with what they had.
Speaker 2 (01:30:44):
And I think if you're a team like the Jets,
you need somebody that can do well with what you got.
The thing that worries me about the Cardinals thing you like,
I get the Shanahan tree is attracted, but at a
certain point not all the apples that fall from it
will bear fruit.
Speaker 3 (01:31:01):
And you've now got the brother of Mike Michael, the
brother of Mike laflor.
Speaker 4 (01:31:09):
Who was well Matt, he's Micha.
Speaker 3 (01:31:12):
Sorry, yes, they're all put.
Speaker 2 (01:31:15):
They got a hand who hired McVeigh. McVeigh hired la
Floor and they all kind of worked together. And then
like Mike Lafleur was like a little brother who kind
of then got hired after all of that, And I
just sit and I wonder how much how much trickle down,
how much trickle down exists, like trickle down football?
Speaker 3 (01:31:35):
Does that? Is that a thing that happens? You know?
I say this whole time.
Speaker 2 (01:31:39):
I sat next to Shanny Shark for six years, Monday
through Friday, we worked together. I sat right next to
him every day. I did not get any bigger. I
did not get a single muscle, I got no richer.
I was sat next to a millionaire bodybuilding for you know,
for years, for years. It never had it never, it
(01:32:01):
never just rubbed off on me, you know what I'm saying,
So like we I hear like people say it'll just
rub off on.
Speaker 3 (01:32:07):
Well, I'm living proof. I'll I'm living proof.
Speaker 5 (01:32:11):
I think the Cardinals kind of starting really over, Like
you said, a new coach and the whole thing.
Speaker 4 (01:32:17):
I guess.
Speaker 5 (01:32:18):
I am anticipating them having those close games that they lost.
I'm anticipating them having a couple of better wins. They're
obviously in a tough division, absolutely, but I really can't
say that I think the Jets are gonna be any
better that I can't.
Speaker 4 (01:32:35):
I can't say that with confidence.
Speaker 2 (01:32:37):
I can't because I mean, well, it depends on what
you think that. I mean, obviously paid for the Super Bowl,
so what you think of them. Buffalo's got a new head.
Speaker 5 (01:32:45):
Coach, sure, yeah, but the same the same pieces. A
new head coach within the system, so not not not
Brent Arizona's like, we're gonna we're starting over. We're gonna
Jonathan Gannon out the door. We're gonna we're gonna establish
a new way of playing here.
Speaker 4 (01:33:01):
At least That's what I'm assuming you would do. If
you're gonna start over like that, You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (01:33:04):
Right, But okay, so just do the same, ye say
the same take take Arizona Johnathan again, and now do
the same with Buffalo and Sean McDermott.
Speaker 5 (01:33:13):
But if the coach within the system and you have
your quarterback Arizona has.
Speaker 3 (01:33:18):
Understand I'm not making any argument. I'm not saying that
you're wrong.
Speaker 2 (01:33:22):
All I'm saying is you said about Arizona, we're gonna try,
we need we're not getting it done. We're going to
replace a guy to try to go ahead, and basic
same thing happened. It's the same thing in Buffalo. That's
the reason you fire your head coach.
Speaker 5 (01:33:36):
Right, sure, but the Buffalo's trying to do is not
the same thing as what Arizona's trying to do.
Speaker 2 (01:33:40):
But even though that, these teams like Buffalo and Baltimore
and I think this is something that like just as
an aside we had. I was talking to Ian about
this the other day. These are different. Pittsburgh is the same.
These organizations. Now we can't like the Ravens doing this
trade and being like, oh, that's.
Speaker 3 (01:33:59):
Not a very raven Z thing to do.
Speaker 2 (01:34:02):
We no longer in my opinion, is it fair to
say what a raven Z thing is, or a Steelers
e thing is, or a Bills y thing is because
the you pick second most to fourth most, fifth most
important person in the building is gone, right, And it's
(01:34:25):
like in Arizona, you make that move because you looking
as that we're not getting over the hume.
Speaker 3 (01:34:30):
We're not getting over the hump.
Speaker 2 (01:34:31):
Now there's different humps, right, but it's still we're not
getting over the hume.
Speaker 3 (01:34:36):
We're not getting over the home. We're not getting over
the hump.
Speaker 2 (01:34:37):
It was why you make what is deemed to be
a radical change right now, I hear you. Buffalo's is
maybe less radical than Baltimore's, but it's still a big
difference because just even because and you don't like to
do in baseball like these guys, some of it really
(01:34:58):
matters how much do I like this guy because I
gotta work.
Speaker 3 (01:35:01):
I gotta go to work every day, you know what
I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (01:35:03):
And we don't this well, and I'll leave it at
this with Tomlin kind of think about this all the time.
And I know that they don't run their social media
is in the same way. But there was a point
in time that Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown were actually
tending out all the tweets that they were and Ben
Roethlisberger and so on and so forth. He still probably
does his but you get my point of these all guys.
(01:35:23):
These guys were all in the same locker room, and
as soon as they left Pittsburgh it all started to
get really weird.
Speaker 3 (01:35:32):
Antonio Brown's and he ends up with no shirt on.
Speaker 2 (01:35:37):
Le'Veon bell is now boxing like like Nate Robinson, like you.
Speaker 3 (01:35:43):
Know, and it's like, wow, Mike Tomlin really like he was.
Speaker 4 (01:35:46):
Really right with all these characters.
Speaker 2 (01:35:50):
So like, you know, the Ravens do something that we've oh,
we've never seen the Ravens do this before.
Speaker 3 (01:35:54):
Well everything John's not there, yeah, and.
Speaker 2 (01:35:57):
He hasn't been for eight and he's been there for
eighteen years and now he's not anymore. What's the difference,
you know what I'm saying, what's the same and what's
the difference. So I think that these teams you gotta
look at them. I'm not saying you just throw it
all out. But it's just like the under new management, right,
they're under new management.
Speaker 4 (01:36:15):
Under the sign is there undernew managers.
Speaker 2 (01:36:17):
So you might you might have loved the number three before,
but new management said, well, you know, we gotta we
gotta cut this corn starts out of here and they
do something else.
Speaker 3 (01:36:25):
It doesn't work.
Speaker 5 (01:36:28):
Between the Jets, the Dolphins, and the Cardinals. I feel
like I might change my mind week to week on
who's gonna.
Speaker 4 (01:36:33):
Be the worst. To be honest with you, like I
think you can. Right now, I think it'll be the Jets,
But maybe next week I would change my mind.
Speaker 5 (01:36:40):
I do think that the Giants seem to have the
biggest upside based on the talent on the roster and
the coach.
Speaker 4 (01:36:50):
And the moves they made.
Speaker 3 (01:36:52):
You know, also, thing has.
Speaker 2 (01:36:55):
You know what I'll say this, Okay, I think the
Giants are a sneaky team that a lot of people
have been talking about.
Speaker 4 (01:37:00):
The biggest I think so upset.
Speaker 2 (01:37:03):
There's one team this year that made a head coaching
higher and I just think it's like flying under the
radar is one way to put it.
Speaker 3 (01:37:13):
This team. It's like they're not even flying.
Speaker 2 (01:37:15):
It's like, did anybody even pay attention to the fact
that this team is.
Speaker 3 (01:37:18):
In the air just like everybody else?
Speaker 4 (01:37:20):
Are you talking about the Titans?
Speaker 3 (01:37:21):
I'll tell you who are talking about next?
Speaker 2 (01:37:28):
Fox Sports Radio Martin wiss Montsi Bolano that about another
half hour here. Steve de Seger coming up in about
seven or so minutes to update you on everything going
on on a conference championship weekend. Duke in Virginia right now,
acc quarters going at it.
Speaker 3 (01:37:48):
Wally Walker seventy six, a SEC tournament champion. Everybody knows that.
Speaker 2 (01:37:53):
Bam Adebayo with the Miami Heat have less points right
now eighty three point I'm sorry, hundred and three points,
so just twenty more than bam scored a few days ago.
Speaker 3 (01:38:05):
You're gonna lose this game to the Orlando Magic.
Speaker 4 (01:38:08):
Yeah? Can I can I slightly just change the subject
for a hot second act?
Speaker 3 (01:38:12):
Do whatever? You love that.
Speaker 4 (01:38:13):
Turbo Max commercial with Oh my god, Brody no Adrian Brody?
Where he because he cries and everything.
Speaker 5 (01:38:22):
But in the Turbo Max commercial, he's like, so when
do the people cry?
Speaker 4 (01:38:25):
And they're like, no, no, no, no, he cries for Triple Max.
It's okay. And then he's like, can I cry? And
then he like sheds a tear. It's so hilarious.
Speaker 5 (01:38:33):
It is so commercials nowadays suck, and so when I
see a gem of one, I have to I have
to point it out.
Speaker 3 (01:38:39):
You know what the problem is with commercials today, MANSI?
Speaker 4 (01:38:42):
They're all terrible it's not.
Speaker 3 (01:38:43):
I think it's less that there's there's no diversity anymore.
Speaker 2 (01:38:48):
By the third time an hour I have seen Scoop
there it is, I now am boycotting your product?
Speaker 3 (01:38:55):
Do you know what I'm saying? Like, I now am
boy like that's my issue? Is I shot? That's your commercials?
Speaker 2 (01:39:01):
That I oh, that was funny, right, I now immediately
am like, I'm gonna just I'm gonna hate this.
Speaker 3 (01:39:07):
I'm gonna see it all the time every single commercial break.
Speaker 2 (01:39:11):
I can't between freaking DraftKings Fandel and Serena Williams trying
to sell me g l P one. I cannot That's
all I get.
Speaker 3 (01:39:21):
That's it.
Speaker 4 (01:39:22):
I mean, it's true, it's true. I know exactly what
you're saying. But this one with Adrian Brodie cracks me up.
It's so good.
Speaker 3 (01:39:31):
I just don't understand. I'm like, Serena, woops, you're you're you're.
Speaker 4 (01:39:34):
In a world class athlete, you're an athlete. I can't
believe we're promoting.
Speaker 3 (01:39:37):
What do we do it?
Speaker 2 (01:39:38):
At least Charles Barkley, I saw him fat well what happened?
I watched it and I look at Charles Barkley.
Speaker 3 (01:39:46):
Now this looks like that. What happened to you to go?
Speaker 2 (01:39:49):
Yes, it judged me nuts, But I tell you if
I'm watching, because you know, we got to we have
them split up. So I have a few of the streamers,
and then my wife asked some of the other ones
depending on who's got what in the accounts or whatever,
who knows what, so you could tell who's got it
because some of us will be like, do need passive income?
Speaker 3 (01:40:12):
Pro I want a massive income. Don't look by one kid?
Want draft kicks? Fit's all free? Do you want to
you know all of that?
Speaker 2 (01:40:22):
Like Jason Tatum is back, use your sixth time parlay
boost max bonus bet to put a dollar down and
win a million if Jason Tatum.
Speaker 3 (01:40:32):
Ties his shoes. You know that's my best mind and
hers are like, you know, I used to win Grand Slams,
but now.
Speaker 4 (01:40:42):
Now it's just a.
Speaker 3 (01:40:44):
I lose my weight with row.
Speaker 4 (01:40:46):
Yeah, look at what I unlocked here.
Speaker 3 (01:40:50):
I'm a world class athlete, but look at my row.
Speaker 4 (01:40:54):
Well why are you doing the row?
Speaker 3 (01:40:55):
Girl?
Speaker 4 (01:40:56):
If you're a world clas class athlete.
Speaker 2 (01:40:57):
I don't have the question. I don't have the answer.
I'm just I'm a commentator.
Speaker 4 (01:41:02):
Oh look at the score of that game. When did
that happen?
Speaker 3 (01:41:05):
Mm hmm about two minutes, Steve will tell.
Speaker 4 (01:41:08):
You did Lebron's hair grow?
Speaker 14 (01:41:11):
That?
Speaker 3 (01:41:12):
You know, that's that's back, that's fact. When commercials were good.
Speaker 4 (01:41:18):
Commercials were good.
Speaker 2 (01:41:19):
No, but seriously, that I really do like because now
I refuse to pay the extra money for the.
Speaker 3 (01:41:27):
Tears because you know, I watched my whole life growing
up before. I was fine, Right, It's fine. I was.
I was getting fact. Sometimes I liked it me too.
I needed five minutes.
Speaker 7 (01:41:37):
What's your most memorable out done?
Speaker 1 (01:41:39):
Why?
Speaker 3 (01:41:42):
I could keep going. But what I'm saying, I could
keep going irritate office linebacker.
Speaker 2 (01:41:47):
You know why, Mary, because twenty five years ago they've
used to make commercials with like art. Yes, okay, Don
Draper and the like. We're in there making art.
Speaker 4 (01:41:56):
All the Coca Cola, Colar, Polar Bears. Every commerce.
Speaker 7 (01:42:02):
Was a good with the frogs.
Speaker 2 (01:42:05):
See there's the one I remember, the Dabasco commercial, Mary mack, So,
I believe it's nationwide. It might only been local, but
the nationwide Tabasco commercial. A mosquito came landed on my
man's arm and he sucked the blood out flew off
and the mosquitoes boom blows up because you get it
because the Dabasco was in my man, it was it
(01:42:25):
was in the blood stream of the guy.
Speaker 3 (01:42:27):
So the Tabasco made the mosquito boat.
Speaker 2 (01:42:29):
See see is combustible, it's creates creativity. Now it's just
be like Tabasco buy it. Here here's a scanning QR
code to buy Dabasco.
Speaker 4 (01:42:39):
Three for a dollar and a celebrity telling me to
do it.
Speaker 3 (01:42:41):
Yeah, like you know, yeah, here's Tabasco sauce.
Speaker 12 (01:42:45):
I was a JEP commercial yesterday and they were like
interviewing like animals, but all the animals were Ai. You
could tell was AI these dark times. But my favorite
one is the hamster's driving the fire Fiat.
Speaker 3 (01:43:00):
So this course for a Kia Soul. Yeah I remember,
because oh it was it's.
Speaker 4 (01:43:08):
Was it a green Kya sool Only it's it's.
Speaker 3 (01:43:12):
Just it's just something about it didn't sit right. It
was like you don't like it. It was like, you know,
it was just something about it. It's just it didn't
sit right.
Speaker 4 (01:43:22):
But you know, I missed the most interesting commercials.
Speaker 3 (01:43:25):
See see.
Speaker 7 (01:43:29):
Companies are getting free advertising right now. Well from this segment.
Speaker 3 (01:43:32):
You know what it's because now I guess advertising is
too much.
Speaker 2 (01:43:35):
They may need it because the only people with pers
that can pay for advertising get sports books and and.
Speaker 3 (01:43:41):
Lose weight shots. That's it. That's the only people that
can afford advertising. That's all I say. That's it. That's all.
Speaker 7 (01:43:47):
The Sports Center ones are always classic too.
Speaker 4 (01:43:49):
They were sports There, we are Fox Sports.
Speaker 2 (01:43:53):
Twenty three this month. She has no concept of what
it was like to shit there through commercials that you want.
Speaker 3 (01:44:00):
Don't do that. Look, I'm not saying it was not.
It's just it's just the times change. The world is different.
I had Comcast, alright, I had. I used to watch
all the ads.
Speaker 2 (01:44:11):
You have no concept of what it's like to change
to the channel that was telling you everything that's on TV.
There used to be one channel that had all the
other channels on it that will let you.
Speaker 4 (01:44:26):
I had the channel.
Speaker 11 (01:44:27):
You got to wait until I rolled back towards the
channel you wanted.
Speaker 3 (01:44:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (01:44:31):
I used to try to see you where I could
see you, Hannah Montana when it was gonna come on,
and you know, yeah, I had that.
Speaker 3 (01:44:37):
I had the TV guy. Don't do me crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:44:39):
Oh this is good, Mary Mac twn about his much
truth as the Brown's holeline.
Speaker 3 (01:44:43):
Let's kick it over Steve the Sager.
Speaker 9 (01:44:45):
I remember the scroll for the TV guide.
Speaker 3 (01:44:47):
It's like, did they just say say by the bill.
Speaker 4 (01:44:51):
Scroll?
Speaker 2 (01:44:53):
That was the way they said when I was a kid.
That was the one thing that would started me from screaming.
The TV guy channel just kept put him in.
Speaker 9 (01:45:00):
Front of the TV got too well, it did move.
There were things to read exactly. You asked about the
Laker game. They are hosting the Denver Nuggets, and the
Lakers were leading by eleven with about four minutes left
in the third. They are now trailing ninety to eighty seven.
Early in the fourth, Nuggets were down seventeen at one point.
Miami Heat trailing at home Orlando one seventeen to one thirteen.
(01:45:24):
The Heat have made it close about thirty seconds left
in the game. Bam Adebayo with a mere twenty points
in this game, but they do have Norman Powell back
tonight off the bench. He has eighteen. As for the
college hoops under four minutes to go in the ACC
Championship game, number one Duke only leads tenth rank Virginia
sixty six sixty five Duke star Cameron Boozer three of
(01:45:48):
fifteen shooting from the floor.
Speaker 3 (01:45:50):
My goodness, exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:45:52):
I was sitting here watching him miss after miss, but
I thought there was more makes than that.
Speaker 9 (01:45:57):
Caden Boozer with fourteen points as a duke store. I
know they're brothers, but wow, things have reversed.
Speaker 2 (01:46:04):
I don't think they could take they don't. It doesn't
combine when they take it home, you know, No.
Speaker 1 (01:46:09):
No.
Speaker 9 (01:46:10):
Number two Arizona won the Big twelve seventy nine to
seventy four over Houston Big East champs. Saint John's in
New York City ripped Yukon seventy two to fifty two.
As for Utah State, they were in Vegas at the
Mountain West Championship game.
Speaker 6 (01:46:25):
There's your Horde and the Abbes are coming back to
Cash Valley as your Mound West Conference Tournament champions.
Speaker 9 (01:46:31):
They beat San Diego Stay seventy three to sixty two.
As Tech's a definite bubble team at twenty two and eleven.
That call from KZNS twelve eighty the zone. Currently we've
got under four minutes left in the Conference USA title game.
Kenesaw State leads sixty five fifty four over Louisiana Tech.
Already conference titles for UMBC Howard, Prairie View and Akron
(01:46:56):
on a late three point one seventy nine seventy six
against to win the MAC Conference to the World Baseball Classic.
Japan is four and oh in the tournament and leading
tonight against Venezuela five to two in the bottom of
the fourth inning. Sho Hee Otani with a leadoff homer
in the bottom of the first after Brave star Ronald
de Kunyait hit a leadoff homer in the top of
(01:47:18):
the first, and that was off starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto,
who eventually settled down for four innings of work and
five strikeouts. Tonight, Cubs outfielder Seja Suzuki of Japan limped
off in the first inning after a caught stealing. His
replacement later hit a three run homer, so Japan's up
five to two bottom of the fourth. The winner gets
(01:47:38):
five and oh. Italy in a semifinal, the Italians eliminated
Puerto Rico eight six Today Sunday night in a semifinal
USA against Dominican Republic. I mentioned the Lakers are trailing
early in the fourth in the NBA, Atlanta won its
ninth in a row, beating up Milwaukee. Boston sent Washington
to an eleventh straight loss. Wins for San Antonio and
(01:48:01):
Philadelphia the late game about to start, Clippers hosting Sacramento.
NHL wins for San Jose and Carolina. Ludwig Oberg leads
the players by three strokes. The New York Giants signed
wide receiver Darnell Mooney, who was cut by Atlanta. The
Chargers re signed backup quarterback Trey Lance a couple items
from Cincinnati. Bengals gave tackle Orlando Brown a two year extension,
(01:48:23):
and Cincinnati signed veteran quarterback Josh Johnson.
Speaker 3 (01:48:26):
Back to you, how about that, Josh Johnson.
Speaker 9 (01:48:28):
That's his fifty second football team, ladies. Oh okay, maybe
not exactly fifty two.
Speaker 15 (01:48:34):
Yeah, yeah, like that, but fifty I think it's actually
close to fifteen. And if even like, do you say
that's his fifteenth football team, it still sounds like way
too much. Yeah, like, it still sounds he's the ultimate
immaculate grid clue of guys who played on multiple teams.
Speaker 9 (01:48:52):
Correct me if I'm wrong, but he's been around so long.
His college coach at the University of San Diego is
Jim Harbaugh.
Speaker 3 (01:48:58):
That is correct?
Speaker 4 (01:49:00):
No, Wow, the guys really puts it into perspective.
Speaker 9 (01:49:03):
He's about forty years old. He re signs for the NFL.
Speaker 4 (01:49:07):
Good for him, and.
Speaker 3 (01:49:07):
Think of it.
Speaker 6 (01:49:08):
That's before Jim Harbaugh had other stops in college before
stands stand and then he went to the NFL for
his first go round.
Speaker 9 (01:49:15):
He had finished as a San Diego Charger quarterback, got
a gig University of San Diego.
Speaker 4 (01:49:21):
Yeah, puts it into perspective.
Speaker 2 (01:49:23):
Josh Johnson, he's seen it all. The biggest moment of
his career. It's when prock Party's elbows that got conference championship,
that NFC Conference Championship game. I lost a lot of
money that day. I remember vividly.
Speaker 7 (01:49:39):
Oh so you remember that day.
Speaker 3 (01:49:40):
I do.
Speaker 2 (01:49:41):
And you know what, Steven, it happened because it was
on camera and everybody saw it on TV.
Speaker 3 (01:49:45):
So it did happen. So it did have it.
Speaker 2 (01:49:47):
There's video evidence that, uh, potentially playing Christian McCaffery a
quarterback might have been a better right.
Speaker 9 (01:49:54):
Because I heard there was some injury in like the
nineteen sixty one NFL Championship. I'm not sure that it's
just because he.
Speaker 4 (01:50:00):
You feel disconnected?
Speaker 2 (01:50:01):
Yeah, exactly, thank god that you know what, there was
video of Super Bowl one and Max McGee didn't win
the MVP for the Packers.
Speaker 16 (01:50:12):
So two touchdown catches, I'm here to say, and you
know what not only two touchdown catches. The first one, oh,
behind the back almost if you saw it that people
would not believe if you just put that on social.
Speaker 3 (01:50:24):
Media without the sick believe that catch. I like that.
That's how did this guy that win MVP?
Speaker 2 (01:50:30):
And then after that monasty two years later, Joe Namath
guaranteed the Super Bowl for the New York Jets, and
after that it was over.
Speaker 3 (01:50:35):
It was going to be a quarterback league from that
moment on.
Speaker 9 (01:50:38):
And the Jets literally have not been back to a
super Bowl since that was in the nineteen sixties. I
think that was the sixty eight season. They have not
been back to a Super Bowl, have not. That's astounding.
Speaker 2 (01:50:52):
You know, there was a football team in New York
formerly called the New York Titans. That's true, you can
look it up and play in the NFL, but the
Tennessee type they became the Jets, right, They eventually became
the Jets. But the Tennessee Titans. They have new uniforms
that looks sneakily like the Houston oiler outline of the former.
(01:51:12):
But that's that's that is one of those if you're
in that area, it's hotly contested and like the rest
of America is just not tapped in.
Speaker 3 (01:51:21):
Like I know that Buck Rising, this is the show
before us.
Speaker 2 (01:51:24):
I'm sure that on his weekday show they get a
lot of calls, well, why we count in this nationally?
Speaker 3 (01:51:30):
It is just not something I hear.
Speaker 7 (01:51:31):
He covers the Tennessee Titans allegedly allegedly.
Speaker 9 (01:51:34):
Not sure if I've ever heard that on the air
on the show, but I've heard that he does that,
and that someone here has a Heisman vote, and I
think of some things that just never gets said on there.
So it's hard to really get them implanted.
Speaker 4 (01:51:49):
I can't think of it. I can't. You're right, Yeah,
I just.
Speaker 3 (01:51:54):
Know wherever he is, he's wearing his Saturday shirt right now.
Speaker 4 (01:51:58):
Unless he's doing TV, then he's in a suit.
Speaker 3 (01:52:01):
Well yeah, but then this Saturday should have go right back,
go right back on.
Speaker 4 (01:52:04):
You're right, he carries the suit. You're right, You're right.
Speaker 2 (01:52:07):
The Titans and cam Ward and Robert Salah and Brian
day Ball, to me, have had a really really good
off season for a really really bad team. Right, Like
we were just talking about this. The Cardinals fire their
head coach, the Bills fire their head coach. It's for
the same reason to get over the hump. It's just
(01:52:30):
way different humps.
Speaker 3 (01:52:31):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:52:31):
So when I said the Titans have had a good
off season, I'm saying it in reguards to a team
that you just had. That there's a lot of holes
to fill on this boat. So as soon as we
start filling any holes, we're going to be in a
lot better shape. But when I look around the AFC
South and I look at the moves that everybody's made
(01:52:52):
this this offseason, I feel more and more convinced that
the Titans are not going to be the worst even
in this division.
Speaker 3 (01:53:04):
And that the Indianapolis Colts are ooh okay.
Speaker 14 (01:53:08):
Like.
Speaker 3 (01:53:10):
I don't. They are chasing after.
Speaker 2 (01:53:15):
A great first date after seeing three or four red
flags down the way that should have like pull up, buddy,
she's not that into you. She's got you saved in
her phone as free food, and you keep calling saying
would you like to go on a date? That's kind
of how I felt, cause, like, when you're transition tagging
(01:53:37):
Daniel Jones, why who else is in the bidding? I
understand that Kyler Murray went for a million dollars, right,
but Daniel Jones has one leg.
Speaker 3 (01:53:47):
Right now, I know it's sure he's the one day
he won't they'll get put him all back together.
Speaker 2 (01:53:53):
But to transition tag to to fifty million dollars, I
mean for a hundred million dollar Connor for two years
and then like when did Alec Piers run the route tree? Like,
if I'm saying go for it, then run straight, young man,
go for it. But like, if I'm gonna be if
you're gonna be my highest pay receiver on the team,
(01:54:14):
you gotta do a little bit of this, a little
bit of that. And I'm looking at the other highest
paid I'm looking at just Jeffersons as our chases and
so on, a j Browns of the world, and I'm
not seeing Alec.
Speaker 5 (01:54:26):
Pierce, Okay, So I feel like this is not that
they're holding on to a first date. I like your example.
It sounds to me like you want them to break
up with Daniel Jones because he didn't order for them
at dinner.
Speaker 4 (01:54:42):
And that's a red flag? Or are you just splitting hairs?
Speaker 2 (01:54:46):
It's like this, I'm saying, I'm not moving in after
the guy ordered my meal perfectly all first time, right,
So yes, we had an amazing first he knew exactly
what I wanted and he paired the wine perfectly.
Speaker 3 (01:55:03):
And then how did he know that I wanted ice cream? Afterwards?
It's like he read my mind, Grace.
Speaker 4 (01:55:09):
I don't know what to do, That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:55:10):
Okay, I don't think you can't move in.
Speaker 4 (01:55:12):
Nobody. It wasn't just a first state.
Speaker 5 (01:55:14):
After what we've seen with teams letting quarterbacks walk out
the door.
Speaker 4 (01:55:18):
I hear what you're saying of like he's hurt right now,
what other team was really going to do?
Speaker 3 (01:55:23):
Crazy?
Speaker 5 (01:55:24):
I get all that, but we've seen teams literally let
go of quarterbacks that have done a good job. Daniel
Jones for the Colts, when they had not seen a
capable quarterback for the last couple of years, had somebody
that was putting them on a winning streak.
Speaker 4 (01:55:41):
There was MVP talk with Daniel Jones.
Speaker 11 (01:55:43):
Before he got hurt. He got hurt and it all
spiraled down. I don't I don't see what you're saying
with the Colts.
Speaker 4 (01:55:51):
I don't see that.
Speaker 5 (01:55:52):
With the Titans, it is eerily quiet for the moves
that they made, for the coaching staff that is coming in,
it is eerily quiet. But I think that benefits them
because this division there are there's still question It's like
the Jaguars, how real were they right? Like people are
still going to say that Houston, Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:56:10):
The defense was excellent CG.
Speaker 3 (01:56:12):
Stroud.
Speaker 11 (01:56:13):
Not so much questions around that With the Colts. The
Colts are hoping that we bring Daniel Jones back healthy.
Why can't we pick up where we left off? That's
what they're thinking. And I don't know if I blame them,
And I feel like a lot of what.
Speaker 2 (01:56:26):
You were using to get to that point is now
out the door. Michael Pittman is a really good player
to me, he was yes consistent, and.
Speaker 3 (01:56:35):
I think the offensive line takes a step back.
Speaker 2 (01:56:37):
She loses Ira Franklin, who led the league and tackles
two years ago, like and then it's just you know,
But i'd also it's more of a plus on what
the title. How the Titans have moved. I don't think
that they'll be drafting in the top five again. Like
you know, Ian was talking about the team that end
up sticking right back there. I don't see the Titans
in that spot again. I would see the airs of
(01:56:59):
the card, and I think the Giants. This is what's
fascinating about the Giants, how bad they've been. They can
double their win total and still have a losing record.
Speaker 4 (01:57:06):
I know that's crazy. Yeah, so's it's gonna be tough
for them coming up next.
Speaker 3 (01:57:11):
We had over a third of the NFL replace their
head coaches.
Speaker 2 (01:57:17):
We'll get into some of the prognostications looking forward for
this new the freshman class, so to speak, because I
just told you I think the I think the Robert
sold and the Titans, I think they're gonna be pretty.
I think they're gonna be above at wid solid, a
solid AFC team. You're gonna have to bring your mouthpiece
(01:57:38):
in week fifteen to play this team. They're gonna be
playing for something when it comes down to it, Will
any of the new guys.
Speaker 3 (01:57:45):
I know Manchi is gonna say big Tom Monken girl
over here. Just wait. Martin White's Many.
Speaker 2 (01:57:50):

Mid sentence, mid blink, Mike the mid sentence.
Speaker 3 (01:58:49):
Right, Monsie, So how do you march madness?
Speaker 5 (01:58:52):
How do I march madness? I will definitely be filling
out a bracket. Okay, I will do a little bit
of reading, just a smidge, just a little bit, you know,
I want to I want to kind.
Speaker 4 (01:59:05):
Of hear what some of the like, you know, experts
are saying.
Speaker 5 (01:59:09):
And then I will fill out a bracket after I've
done a little bit of light reading to see of
what I feel. If I could just find someone to
support it, you know what I mean, Like, this is
what I think. Can someone tell me that I'm not crazy? Okay,
you think this, I'm going to go with my gut
and so.
Speaker 3 (01:59:23):
And then I'm gonna we're not going to go with
your gutecause I liked my gut, but then I needed your.
Speaker 4 (01:59:29):
For my gut. And so that's how that's how I'll
go about it. And then once it starts, let's go.
Speaker 2 (01:59:35):
This is the time of the year that I decided
I had to work in sports because of March madness.
Speaker 3 (01:59:42):
I'll tell a story please. I was a Spanish class.
Speaker 2 (01:59:44):
I had a D plus Spanish Spanish, Yeah, Spanish two
thirty one winter semester, had a D plus, which is
not great. I'm shitting in class, and in Spanish class
of college, there is there's no English spoken, right, We're
just sitting there and popped the computer like there's no computers.
Speaker 3 (02:00:01):
At the time.
Speaker 2 (02:00:02):
If you can believe that, if you could hear my
voice and you're under thirty, yes, we did actually have
to use pen and paper to do like school assignments
and in Spanish class, there was no need for a computer.
I had mine out watching eighth seed in the Big
Ten Tournament, Michigan play Ohio State Nevin Turner. Evan Turner
(02:00:24):
hit a half court shot, knocking Michigan out of the
Big Ten Tournament, out of ANTBAA tournament contention at the time,
and I.
Speaker 3 (02:00:31):
Was furious, so upset, and I was failing this class.
Speaker 4 (02:00:35):
This is in college, and your college wasn't showing this
game like in class.
Speaker 2 (02:00:41):
It was like a Tuesday two o'clock it was it's
like the Big Ten tournament. So it's like it's it's
in the middle of the day, Like, yeah, they're not
moving school for this, like the Big Ten quarterfinals, right,
you know what I'm saying. It's like if they were
in the national championship game or something like that, then
it's a different story. But they also wouldn't play the
national tie average game Tuesday at one o'clock in the afternoon.
Speaker 3 (02:01:03):
And it was around that time.
Speaker 2 (02:01:05):
That I realized that I was gonna have to find
a way to either make money in sports or not
care about sports as much because I'm failing classes to
watch eighth seed Michigan lose, and it was another moment
in the same season, alex Marcatulio got off the bench
from Northwestern and I knew everything about him. Now, I
(02:01:26):
happened to play againt him in high school, but this
was the seventh man off, the second man off the
bench from Northwestern, which was stunk.
Speaker 3 (02:01:33):
Right, and I knew it.
Speaker 2 (02:01:34):
I was like, I should not know this much about
him and not know this Spanish has on my lap,
like I'm sitting here in this textbook. And now the
funny part is I'm way better at Spanish than I
am at knowing college basketball bench players.
Speaker 4 (02:01:50):
Are you much better at Spanish than knowing bench college
basketball players?
Speaker 3 (02:01:53):
Yeah, but I like now endeavor to actually learn it. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:01:55):
It's like when you're in school, you don't want you well,
it's only that, It's just I was supposed seven different
things in one day. You gotta go to so many
different classes. That's why people talk about you should stay
in school, no go pro, because when you're a pro,
all you gotta do is practice.
Speaker 4 (02:02:12):
All you just focus on the one or two things
that you're supposed to do, not learn all eight.
Speaker 3 (02:02:17):
Do you know about Prussia? For I don't know.
Speaker 11 (02:02:20):
Why do I need to know about related rates in
a calculus classical equations get out of he
