Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
That is all right, sat.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
Happy Saturday, everybody, Welcome to Fox Sports Radio. Thanks for
tuning in to the Hartman and Bolano show, which had
had a great run.

Speaker 4 (00:18):
Had a great run, you know you know what it
was for me. So usually I don't have a regular
Saturday show. Now, we used to have, by the way,
the best Saturday showy one. Yes, and so I'm sort
of anticipating each week that text message from Scott Shapiro.

Speaker 5 (00:38):
Boss, I got.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
That hey can you fill in on this Saturday show? Well,
when he tells me it's your show, it's sort of
like you go through your mail and you get that
unexpected check in the mail. I'm like, I got a
refund or something happened here.

Speaker 5 (00:56):
Where did check come from?

Speaker 2 (00:58):
WHOA?

Speaker 5 (00:59):
That's what it's like for me when I get that
text saying, how would you like to do the show
with Monsey?

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Trust me, I got the text and I grinned like
the Grinch when I heard Hartman will be in for
Martin Weiss, who is fine and dandy. But remember last
time Hartman filled in it is for the same exact reason.
He's a married man, so now he has obligations that
he has to do.

Speaker 5 (01:19):
This is another one of those weddings.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
It is another wedding.

Speaker 5 (01:23):
What is that like, twenty weddings this year for him?

Speaker 2 (01:25):
It's something like that.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
I think you're right around that number. So don't worrybody,
Martin Weiss is good and dandy. He is celebrating a
wedding somewhere. He will be back, I'm sure next week.
So you get Steve Harmon and me Monty Belongos, and
we're going to dive into this, Steve, because we are
coming to the end here of college, yes we are,
and heading into what the playoff is going to look
like on its second year where too many teams go

(01:47):
in my opinion.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
All right, so let's let me let me go over
this here because I you know, I knew going into
the show today that this is going to be. Obviously,
we had a lot of NFL news, got a lot
of things we're going to talk about today. But as
far as where the bracket was going into this weekend,
and this is based on again on the playoff poll
that comes out. So the four buys were Ohio State,

(02:09):
who's playing right now against my UCLA Bruins. They should
not have a problem today ya, Malayava is out of
this game. But it's only seven to nothing right now,
four minutes to go in the first quarter. By the way,
Julian saying, the red shirt freshman who, by the way,
originally committed to Alabama. I knew about this case from
Carlsbad and he was a super hyped high school kid

(02:33):
and he had a verbal essentially to go to Alabama,
and then Nick Saban left, so he got out of Alabama.
Was a backup a year ago at Ohio State played
very little, actually red shirt of the year, and this
year is completing eighty point nine percent of his passes
eighty point nine percent. So yeah, I mean, Ohio State's

(02:54):
a clear.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Number one, clear number one. Their offense has looked unstoppable
the last two weeks.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
Indiana obviously winning today, they're home free really months because
they only have the one game left.

Speaker 5 (03:04):
They have a buy and then they have produced, so
they're going to be undefeated going into the Big Ten
championship game. Texas A and m Wow comeback today.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
You know, I hate that it's a comeback because they
were favored to win, right, you were supposed to win
this game.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
But a comeback that we had never seen, well.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
They had, they had never had a comeback in the
history that you know, great program at A and M
like this, down thirty to three at halftime and they
outscore them the second half twenty eight to nothing.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Twenty eight to nothing. It was it was quite the
turn of events. Good for them.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
It really seems like they just went out partying too
hard last night, came out a little bit slow, and
then at the healf, they're like, okay, now are we ready?

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Like, we're good, We're hydrated.

Speaker 6 (03:41):
Ready to go.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
Look, you're playing a South Carolina team that has talent,
especially at quarterback, and but they're three and six coming
in the game.

Speaker 5 (03:49):
So you're like, all right, we're at home. It's a
walk over. And if you don't show up, this is
what happened. Like with Buffalo last week, had the bill.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
You know, you have a huge win at home against
thee they're all psyched up about playing the Chiefs here
on the road against the miserable Dolphins. All you're reading
about is, you know, the team is completely discombobulated, firing
their general manager, and then you show up.

Speaker 5 (04:12):
I mean he literally did not show up.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
They did game and they got steamrolled by the lowly Dolphins.

Speaker 5 (04:17):
So those are the top.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
Three teams and that will not change because they're all undefeated.
But number four was Alabama and Alabama goes down at
home to Oklahoma. Now that is a game changer, Manceie,
it really is. Alabama did not look good in the
fourth quarter.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Now all they couldn't move the ball down after that
fumble by by almost in the right there was in
the red zone they took the lead.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
That's when Alabama lost the lead.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
They were up by one point going into the fourth
quarter and there was that fumble and then that's when
they took over, Oklahoma getting that field goal.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
And then Alabama couldn't move the ball at all after that.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
Well, in the first half, ty Simpson had twenty two completions,
second half six. Yeah, you could tell Oklahoma as By
the way, that's a couple of good wins because that
Michigan win they had earlier in the year is looking
better every week because Michigan continues to win even if
they had to go down the last second. They had
five turnovers today in that game against Northwestern. So you know,

(05:14):
Oklahoma was sort of the last team out. If you
look there ranked eleventh, and so yeah, the top ten
teams so after Alabama was Georgia, Texas, tech Ole, Miss Oregon,
Notre Dame Texas. Those are in and then the other
two teams were Miami representing the ACC. And then of
course that group of five right now is South Florida.

(05:36):
And so you know, with Oklahoma winning, Alabama is not
out of it by any stretch of the imagination because
they still control their own path to get to the
SEC Championship game. And even if they were to lose
that SEC Championship game, it's Alabama. They could be the
one team that could still sneak into the playoff with

(05:58):
three losses.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
That tumble came right up the end of the third
quarter coin into the fourth quarter, and I thought it
was early in the fourth quarter when it came. But
then the Sooners hit that field goal, and then Alabama
doesn't do anything. I agree with you, They're still a
live in fact, the Sooners needed this win more than
Alabama at this point. But having you here, mister Heisman Motor.

Speaker 5 (06:17):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
If I don't know, if you guys know that.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
Steve Hartman has a breaking news, breaking news, I don't
know if you know Steve di Seger, he has a
Heisman vote.

Speaker 5 (06:26):
It's absolutely crazy, is like, how many times have I
heard this?

Speaker 4 (06:30):
By the way, I do want to clarify something about
the Heisman Trust. You know, it used to be once
you sort of had the vote, the only way there
were two ways to lose the vote because they have
a certain allotment of votes per state, and then so
the only way to lose your vote was either to
leave the state or die.

Speaker 6 (06:52):
Got it.

Speaker 4 (06:53):
Now it's changed the last couple of years where I'm
actually getting a questionnaire from the Heisman Trust. How much
college football are you covering? What are you doing right now?
Give us an update? Blah blah blah blah blah. And
I think that's fair.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
That is very fair.

Speaker 5 (07:08):
You know, why are you still.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
Covering college football? Are you watching games? You know that
kind of stuff. So they're tightening up a little bit
on terms of who votes because they're not expanding the
number of voters. So you know, but yes, I've been
voting since Cam Newton won in twenty ten.

Speaker 5 (07:23):
But right now, I mean, it really looks like this.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Now, let me ask you actually, how I want to
present it.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
How I want to know what you think, because everybody
is waiting for somebody to rise up in the ranks
of Heisman, right, but you're also waiting for a moment.
Fernando Mendoza gave it to you last week in that
comeback in the final minute, right, Julian Sane. You just
said he's playing great, but he's also on a stacked team.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
So today Ty Simpson did his.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
Stock drop gone because of that fourth quarter gone gone gone.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
And in fact, at the end of that game, he
had a potential Heisman moment you're down to, right, you
got you know, drive to get a game winning field goal, and.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
He failed to deliver, and he failed to deliver.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
So right now, this looks like it's going to come down.
I mean, think about this potential matchup assuming Ohio State
wins out, assuming Indiana wins out twelve and oh versus
twelve and zero in the Big Ten Championship game, with
literally everything on the line, the number one overall seed
in the playoff and the Heisman Trophy. I mean, it

(08:27):
really comes down to Mendoza insane right now as the
two leading candidates. Obviously A and M's quarterback has done great.
You know, he let it come back today. But look
at the numbers Mendoza today against Wisconsin. You're playing a
team he should beat, and they did beat. And he
had the kind of game when you throw more touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
Yeah, two he missed two passes roight, he was.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
Twenty two to twenty four, two and ninety nine yards,
four touchdowns, no picks. That's the kind of game if
you're going to be in the Heisman conversation. Look, he
saved his Heisman last week with that, you know, and
how which was at him? And how much is one
of the greatest.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Catch up on the greatest catches. Absolutely, you know.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
But the fact is it looks like it's going to
come down to that game, the Big Ten Championship game,
unless there's some monumental upset. And by the way, you know,
Michigan always seems to find a way the last couple
of years against the highest state.

Speaker 5 (09:17):
But if they pull it off this year, I probably
be well, okay in shock.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
But anyway, if that does play out where we have
undefeated Ohio State undefeated Indian the Big Ten Championship game,
Mendoza's saying to me, are playing for the Heisman trophy.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
Jeremiah Love from Notre Dame doesn't have a chance.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
I wish I could get a running back in the mix.
Look last year, remember we had the all purpose man,
Travis Hunter as your winner, and then he had Ashton Genty,
a running back. I had one of the greatest seasons
of any running back ever, who, by the way, did
get my first place vote over Hunter. So we didn't
have a quarterback even in the top two. But and

(09:54):
I'm always looking for those non quarterbacks. Give me that
running back, give me, give me something. You know, I
voted for Manti tayl way back in the day over
Johnny Manziel because he had led Notre Dame to an
undefeated season.

Speaker 5 (10:08):
He had an insane year that year. He had never.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
Intercepted a pass until his senior year Notre Dame. That
year he had seven. Ye know, it was one of
those miracle year.

Speaker 5 (10:17):
It's one of the.

Speaker 4 (10:17):
Great That's how you get my vote, you know, if
you're a non quarterback. So but this year, really, honestly,
unless somehow Ohio State or Indiana stumbles, this is going
to be saying in Mendoza battling for the Heisman Trophy
in that Big Ten Championship.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Game, let's ypothetically, say we get to that game and
Indiana does not win, but Fernanda Mendoza has a great game.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
It's not impossible, and I'll really go back. Johnson is stacked.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
He's stacked.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
I will give you an example. And this is really
old school because only I can do these. And it
was a very similar game. In nineteen sixty seven. O. J.
Simpson was in his first year at US. He was
a junior, was a JC transfer, and he was already
lighting college football world on fire.

Speaker 5 (11:01):
With his yards. And UCLA had a.

Speaker 4 (11:04):
Much celebrated senior quarterback named Gary Beban, and that was
The votes were different.

Speaker 5 (11:09):
In those days. It was a mail in ballot.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
And it really some games still had to be played,
but that's when they But everyone was waiting for this
one game because UCLA came in ranked number one in
the country. S He had just lost, but they were
still favored in the game. Long story short, s he
wins this game twenty one to twenty and OJ ran
sixty four yards for the winning touchdown. What about ten
minutes left wasn't late in the game. But Beeban, who

(11:33):
had a bad back and everything else, was sixteen to
twenty four. Three hundred one yards, which was a ton
in those days, a couple of touchdowns. So even though
he lost the game, he ended up winning a close
vote for the Heisman Trophy. So is it possible that
Mendoza could still win the Heisman even if Indiana loses.
He would have had to have a phenomenal game. He

(11:55):
can't be throwing three interceptions, nothing like that. It would
be have to have one of those kind of games.
And same would have had to have you know, not
as good again. In other words, at the end of
the game, they're like.

Speaker 5 (12:04):
Wow, they want in spite of him, Well, it's just
that Mendoza outplayed saying in the game.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
Then it's possible, especially since again Indiana obviously has never
had a Heisman Trophy winner. They had a runner up
in nineteen eighty nine, the great Anthony Thompson running back.

Speaker 7 (12:20):
I'm not going to go all day.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
On this, but the bottom line is, yes, he would
still have a chance to win the Heisman even if
they were to lose that championship game to a high state.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
I I right now feel like it's Fernando Mendoza's Heisman
to lose at this point because of what he has
done with Indiana.

Speaker 5 (12:35):
I agree with you. I mean again, think about this.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
I mean they had what was the kid War Clash
year at India, they had another transfer quarterback. So Mendoza
comes in from cal you know, or he's a good quarterback.
But I mean, no one was looking at him. Well, look,
we say the same thing about Jade and daniels Man.
He was at Arizona State. No one looked at him
at Arizona State. Well that's a guy that's going to
win the Heisman Trophy. So but it's I mean's just

(13:00):
had a phenomenally year.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
He's had a phenomenal year, and so has Indiana, and
so has this team in the NFL that we're gonna
get to on the other side, who has won eight
in a row. But I I'm not sure how I
feel about this.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
I don't know if I don't think you can convince me.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
And I feel like that's what I'm seeing this team
and everyone is jumping on the hype train and I'm
not there yet, But we're gonna dive into that.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
He is Steve Harmon. We've got Mary mack here, Hagar
all on the ones.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
And twos, We've got our producer, our producer Shay Megngarde.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Shay, say, hello, Ian is not here.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
Everybody, Ian Roddy are typical producer with Martin and I.
He's at the USC game or he went to the
USC game in the rain that we've got going on.

Speaker 7 (13:40):
Yeah, he was one of the guys with the shirts off.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
Stop stop.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
If you're going to confirm that, I would love that,
but I don't think so. Steve Disager is going to
keep us updated on all the scores going on today
when it comes to college football, and a little college
troops going on as well.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
But we're going to dive into this team in the
NFL on the.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
Other side that has won eight in a row, and
I just I don't know how I feel about it.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
Don't go anywhere.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
He's Steve, I'm Moncy, and this is Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
Everybody? Happy Saturday? Rainy in some parts of the country,
like here in La.

Speaker 5 (14:46):
Which crazy, isn't it.

Speaker 3 (14:47):
It's so rainy, And yes, for those of you who
deal with the rain constantly in other parts of the country.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
I know I'm sounding annoying and whiney, but we're just not.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Used to the rain here, and people just don't know
how to drive in the rain. And when I say people,
I mean me, like, I'm the one going twenty five
miles an hour on the freeway.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
You know, I say like, because I don't trust anybody else.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
Well either people are either going twenty five miles an
hour or eighty five miles an hour fre which.

Speaker 5 (15:14):
Is also a bad thing to do.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
Look the I always said this, having lived in southern
California literally my entire life. The difference between living here
and just about anywhere else on the planet is we
don't have weather. We don't so there are no seasons
here and then it's not like, you know, the bitter
cold of winter and then you welcome spring and the

(15:37):
bitter heat of the summer and you welcome fall.

Speaker 5 (15:40):
I get it.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
Seasons sound remarkable when you have really really oppressive heat,
you know, high humidity all summer long, and you get
that fall relief, and then you get that bitter cold
of the winters. You know, my sister, the Valley Girl,
has lived in Iowa for over forty years, so she
moved into a state where they have season have weather.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
Here we really doesn't.

Speaker 5 (16:02):
And so when we are.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
Faced with weather, in this case rain, we have a
hard time. People just don't even know how to handle it,
and especially on the road. So yeah, for people listening
in the SoCal area on the road, just be smart.

Speaker 5 (16:16):
Just leave it.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
You have some space because you're slipping and sliding.

Speaker 5 (16:20):
Come on space from that car that you are falling.
Space can't tell you real quick.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
Yesterday I went to Disneyland with Loraina Peterson, who is
a technical producer here overnight, thinking that nobody was going
to go to Disneyland because it was raining. Y'all, everyone
and their mom was at Disneyland. I was, so I
was like, why am I here?

Speaker 2 (16:43):
I don't know, it was he.

Speaker 4 (16:45):
Okay, first of all, you can't bring umbrellas obviously onto
the rise.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
Right, but everyone had an umbrella. I did.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
I just had a raincoat. But like, it was so busy.
I could not believe my eyes. Everybody everyone either had
the same idea or everybody just was like whatever, who.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
Cares it's raining.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
I couldn't. I thought I was gonna walk onto rides. Guys, Guys,
I didn't walk onto anything.

Speaker 5 (17:06):
Do you have season passes?

Speaker 2 (17:07):
We do? We're those people. Wow, we're those people I was.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
I was very fortunate when my kids were young, you know,
working at our station. It was that time in the
two thousands, okay, when my kids were younger, that we
had literally free passes everything. We had free passes to Disneyland,
both both sides of them, you know, Park Hopper, the
whole thing, Magic Mountain, Universal Studios. I was literally an

(17:34):
annual pass there for years and years and years, so
I never had to pay a single dome.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
That must be nice, definitely.

Speaker 5 (17:40):
Phenomenal back in the day. Yeah, I bet you are.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
He is Steve Barvion. I want to bologna as you
are listening to Fox Sports Saturday.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
All right, Steve, I cannot, for the life of me
figure out how I feel about the steam in the
NFL that has won eight in a row for the
first time since Tom Brady. Yeah, the New England Patriots.
They are three and ozer in their division and they.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
Just beat the Jets.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
But watching that game, and this adds to my feelings
of uncertainty when I look at the Patriots, because Martin
and I talked about this last week. Watching this game
against the Jets, I was like, shouldn't you be dominating
the Jets. The Jets are not good on any side
of the ball. They just put Garrett Garrett Wilson on
ir They they they're not good. And the entire game

(18:28):
was a one score game until it wasn't later in
the fourth quarter.

Speaker 4 (18:31):
Well, and he also had this situation. Here's the problem
right now. Look, Mike Vrabel obviously coach runaway Coach of
the Year. I mean, yeah, by the way, and by
the way, to me, Bob Kraft cemented his rightful place
in the Hall of Fame as an owner because they
brought him Mayo as the coach, you know, to replace Belichick,
you know, and he's a legacy and everything else. It

(18:53):
was he was not the right guy at the right time.
Doesn't mean that down the road he could get another
opportunity and be the right guy in the right place.
They needed a veteran coach and Rabel was the obvious
choice from the get go, but they went in a
different direction. But what made the Patriots and what has
made the Patriots a winner throughout Bob Kraft's ownership is
when they make mistakes, they don't they cut their losses immediately.

Speaker 5 (19:17):
They did this with Belichick.

Speaker 4 (19:19):
Whether you were a high draft pick or an expensive
free agent, if you were the wrong fit, they would
just get rid of you. They wouldn't hang on to like, wow,
you know, give him some time. They don't do that
in New England, and they didn't do it with the
coach situation. They brought him Vrabel and he immediately brings
in a winning attitude. Now that being said, we saw

(19:39):
why Drake May He's obviously made huge strides in his
second year. You can argue, now, I guess Kayleb Williams
maybe in the mix, but with Jayden Daniels getting hurt,
Bo Nick's taking a mighty leap backwards. Michael Pennix obviously
in a mess right now in Atlanta that Drake May
may be the best quarterback in this draft. That being said,
you mentioned this game against it Jets. They were up

(20:01):
five driving the ball at that point, you just want
to get a field goal to go up eight, and
he forces a ball in the end zone that's picked off.

Speaker 5 (20:10):
Yep. Now they got out.

Speaker 4 (20:12):
Of that mess, but it was just like, those are
the kind of things that once you get into the postseason,
you can't do. I mean, they shot Vrabel after he
threw the interception. He just had that look like you
gotta be kidding me, what you can't do?

Speaker 2 (20:28):
You can't do that.

Speaker 3 (20:29):
And with this whole MVP conversation that Drake May has
put himself in because there's been no clear cut MVP,
just like the Heisman in college football, he's putting himself
in this conversation. In this game against the Jets in
the fourth quarter, justin Field fumbles in the red zone
and New England gets the ball back and they can't
get a touchdown.

Speaker 4 (20:47):
Right because he threw that interception, right, It's crazy. He
was like, what are you doing? He threw it into
full blown double.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
Coverage and all they're able to do is get a
field goal. I think after the fumble, right.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
It's just if that's what you're doing.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
I don't know how to properly assess the team moving forward.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
And if you look at who the Patriots.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
Have beat, they of course they beat the Bills of
Gors like that's one in their division. That is a
huge one. They've beat other teams like the Saints, the Titans,
the Browns, the Falcons, and the Dolphins. Like the other
good win would be the Buccaneers obviously.

Speaker 4 (21:28):
MONSI, I'll give you two examples, and I'm gonna go
old school, and really old school, all right.

Speaker 5 (21:33):
So in nineteen eighty one, the San Francisco.

Speaker 4 (21:36):
Forty nine Ers came out of nowhere with their third
year quarterback, third year coach Joe Montana, and Bill Walsh,
and they got in a roll. I mean, they were
a six win team the year before six and ten.
They go thirteen and three. But the Cowboys are looming,
and everyone knows the Cowboys are like a better team.
The forty nine ers are a flash in the pan.

(21:58):
They don't they have no playoff experience, they have nothing.
But they were playing the NFC Championship game at home,
and of course that game ended with the famous catch,
you know, the Dwight Clark catch, and they end up
winning that game, winning the NFC Championship game, and then
they go on to win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (22:17):
Same thing with the Rams in ninety nine with Kurt Warner.
They had missed the playoffs nine straight years, nine straight
losing seasons, and all of a sudden he brings this
obscure quarterback and they're lighting.

Speaker 4 (22:27):
Up the scoreboard. That's not going to happen in the postseason.
They will come back to Earth.

Speaker 5 (22:32):
But you know what, they had home field advantage and
they got that to the Super Bowl and then of
course won that Super Bowl. So if you look in
New England right now, if they can hang on, they
can hang on to that number one overall seed in
the AFC, and the Pats of the Super Bowl goes
through New England, that's not going to be an.

Speaker 4 (22:51):
Easy place to win. You'd give him a chance because
obviously with a young quarterback on the road. Now, you know,
look at last year with the Detroits, right, there's the
polar opposite. Now, we thought, all right, the Lions are
ready for prime time, you know, because they made the playoffs.
Now they're ready to go, and then they get blown
out at home by a rookie quarterback in the Washington Commanders.

(23:14):
So there's no rhyme or reason. But I will say this,
if New England can hang on and be the number
one overall seed, I wouldn't bet against you.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
You wouldn't bet against them, And it has to do
I think mostly for me it would be I'm betting
on Mike Rabel.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
Exactly right, like you're being there, done that, three time
Super Bowl champion. As a player, he knows the process of,
you know, navigating the postseason. He understands how it works.
Your players still have to deliver. I mean, they still
have to play well. If a Kansas City or a
Buffalo or a veteran team goes into New England, it'd
probably be favored. That doesn't mean they're going to win.

(23:52):
And so that to me it's you know, when you
talk about I don't know about New England, I don't
know about Buffalo and Kansas City.

Speaker 5 (23:59):
I mean said the teams.

Speaker 4 (24:00):
We know the Ravens were heard obviously when Lamar Jackson
got hurt, but you know, Mahomes have been healthy. Josh
Allen's been healthy, and those are the teams we have
been seeing over the last half decade in the AFC
head to head. Now, Kansas City's won all those matchups
in the postseason, but where are they right now?

Speaker 3 (24:18):
I mean, if I'm big, I'm trusting Kansas City over
the three teams we're just talking about quickly, Buffalo, Kansas City,
and New England.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
And it has to do with history, right because they've
been there, done that well.

Speaker 4 (24:27):
It's hard to bet against a team to the AFC
Championship game every year.

Speaker 5 (24:32):
The Mahomes has been their quarterback.

Speaker 4 (24:33):
But that being said, questions they're favored on the road
against Denver. I know how bad when people see you know,
they don't look like an eight and two team.

Speaker 5 (24:44):
There's no style points in the NFL, for especially lately,
there's no style points. You just have to win games.

Speaker 4 (24:52):
And as bad as bo Nix has been at times
and discombobulated as that offense has been, their defense is
performing a very high level and when they've needed plays
late in the game, somehow they've been able to pull
it out. So it's wide open this year, Moncie.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
It really is. And you know, for the best pre
Game show every weekend.

Speaker 3 (25:15):

Speaker 2 (25:35):
And then after it's end Zone Radio with you Steve
harm with you, Well, no, Steve Harmon is here with J. J.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
Husky. I am here doing updates. Speaking of updates, the
guy that we all aspire to be. When we're at
the update desk, Steve de Sager, Steve's gonna give us
a round about what's going on some teams trying to
stay in the college football playoff picture, Steve, what is
going on?

Speaker 6 (25:59):
And can't say so? You were talking about trying to
stay in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
I can't believe that they.

Speaker 6 (26:04):
Are still odds on favorite to win the Super.

Speaker 5 (26:08):
Bowl, even though right now, if the playoffs began today, they'd.

Speaker 6 (26:11):
Be out and they have to play at the Broncos
and then the Colts after that. They could be five
and six as of a couple weeks from now. And yeah,
they are tied with Jacksonville for the last playoff spot
right now, but they've already lost head to head.

Speaker 5 (26:26):
To Jacksonville exactly. So I mean, everyone's getting all hyped
up when they beat the Detroit Lions at home and
then they blew out the Raiders and the Commanders at home,
and I'm like, why they were huge favorites of Buffalo.
I don't get it.

Speaker 6 (26:38):
Still got to play the Broncos twice this year and
rematch with the Chargers and see the Texans great defense
ex exactly. We had a great comeback at number three
Texas A and m Aggie's win thirty one thirty over
South Carolina. I know one of you will remember a
certain Texas A and M game with a huge comeback
in it.

Speaker 5 (26:56):
I'll tell you how exactly it was. Forty forty ten
Texas A and M at the Rose Bowl was leading
UCLA season.

Speaker 4 (27:04):
It was a season over in twenty seventeen. Josh Rose
in the quarterback UCLA. Think about this month, soe UCLA
was losing forty four to ten with four oh eight.

Speaker 5 (27:14):
To go in the third quarter. Okay, and outscored him
thirty five to nothing from that point on from the
four minutes left in the third quarter, and they win
the game forty five forty four.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
Did anyone get fired?

Speaker 4 (27:29):
I have watched that game on replay, the saga, See,
I still don't get it.

Speaker 5 (27:32):
It's unreal.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
Nobody got fired after that. That seems like someone should
have been fired up.

Speaker 5 (27:36):
That was Kevin someone. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (27:39):
Eventually, yeah, eventually. So A and M engineered its biggest
comeback win in school history today, beating South Carolina, a
team that has won in seven in conference this year,
by the way, previously the biggest comeback win and AM
A and M history was with a Johnny Manziel team
a Bowl win over Duke fifty two forty eight eight,

(28:00):
where they came from twenty one down. The great graphic
that they put up during this telecast is in the
last twenty plus years of SEC conference games as this
was today, when a team falls behind by twenty seven,
their record oh and two eighty six since two thousand
and four until today.

Speaker 5 (28:19):
Now it's one in two eighty six.

Speaker 6 (28:20):
Absolutely and them was down at home at the half
thirty to three and still beat South Carolina thirty one
to thirty. The Florida Gators are three and six this year,
and they are leading at number seven ranked Ole Miss
under two minutes to go till halftime. Florida up twenty
one to twenty. Thirteenth ranked Utah leads at Baylor twenty

(28:40):
eight to ten under two minutes to go in the
first half. Top ten matchup at Georgia Bulldogs ahead of
Texas fourteen to three early second quarter, and Ohio state
number one in the country, has scored again seventeen nothing
to lead over UCLA. We have four and a half
minutes to go in the second quarter, and I believe
the precincts are in on this one. Actually it's only

(29:01):
seventeen nothing and it's only the second quarter. But as
you referenced early in the show, the starting quarterback Nikoya
Maliave is out with a concussion.

Speaker 4 (29:10):
Line in this game was thirty one and a half
before he built out, so now I think it was
like thirty five or more so.

Speaker 5 (29:17):
Yeah, UCLA is hanging in.

Speaker 6 (29:18):
The guy who's starting for UCLA tonight, Luke Duncan, has
not thrown a pass or had not until tonight in
his college career. He has nine yards passing in the
first half, so.

Speaker 5 (29:29):
So he's well on his way to double digits. That's
what you're saying. Barring a couple of Seass's four for
six for nine yards. I like it.

Speaker 6 (29:38):
I think the game is over. On FS one, Washington
at home leads Perdue twenty one nothing, two minutes to
go in the first half Perdue oh and seven. In
conference play, Number eleven Oklahoma wins at fourth ranked Alabama
twenty three twenty one. Sooners led ten to nothing in
the first quarter. Notre Dame wins at Pitt easily thirty
seven fifteen sixteenth nand Georgia Tech on a short field

(30:01):
goal and the final seconds avoided the upset. Winning at
Boston College thirty six thirty four, USC and soggy conditions
at the Coliseum came back to beat Iowa twenty six
twenty one. Michigan won at Northwestern twenty four twenty two.
In a game at Wrigley Field, a field goal as
time expired won them the game. The kick swored up
over the right field bleachers and there's a W four

(30:25):
the visitors. Navy beat number twenty four South Florida forty one,
thirty eight and Arizona a winner at number twenty five
Cincinnati thirty to twenty four in honor of Arnie Spaniard.
You know these are co hosts on Sunday Night. Is
Arnie the Arizona Guy and Chris Plank on the sidelines
for Oklahoma today. They are both going to be loving life.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
They really are.

Speaker 6 (30:46):
That rarely happens. I mean, Oklahoma's won a fair amount
of games over the years. Oklahoma and Arizona get a
big win on the same day, I'm not sure what there's. Yeah, anyway,
back to you.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
Thank you so much. Steve Disaga.

Speaker 3 (30:58):
You are listening to Fox Sports, and you know you
can come on Twitter and talk to Steve Hartman and
you can follow me at Moncy Belanos.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
You can join the conversation. You are Canon.

Speaker 4 (31:09):
Hartman at Cannonheartin's it's long and it's cumbersome.

Speaker 5 (31:15):
I know that.

Speaker 4 (31:15):
But actually my original when I first start was hater Hartman,
hater because that was sort of a thing over the years,
and uh, kat l A my TV station insisted that no,
we're not going to have hater Hartman as you need
to change it. And I was the loose cannon. So

(31:37):
I'm like, all Canon Hartman. Then I realized that's really long.
But I've never changed.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
But it's easy to remember Canon Hartman.

Speaker 5 (31:43):
Well, I get that you still call it Twitter instead
of backs.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
Because if I put Twitter dot com it takes me,
so maybe you should.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
They should change that first.

Speaker 3 (31:50):
If you do twitter dot com, it takes talking about.

Speaker 7 (31:54):
I'll take some blame for that. It says twitter on
the read.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
Don't worry about it, I still say. But I say Twitter, I.

Speaker 5 (32:00):
Like, I don't.

Speaker 7 (32:00):
I don't even realize it when I read.

Speaker 3 (32:01):
It, because it didn't because I, yes, I refuse it.

Speaker 7 (32:07):
It's Twitter.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
It is Twitter. The little blue bird, a little blue bird,
all right.

Speaker 3 (32:11):
See, let's let's go back to one game going on
right now.

Speaker 2 (32:16):
It is Georgia and it's Texas arch manning.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
At the start of the season, he was supposed to
be the Heisman favorite, supposed to come out, they were
handing him the trophy, and then Texas comes out to
a really rough start. But they've put some wins together.
All of a sudden, you're like, okay, they don't.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
They don't look as bad as maybe you thought at
the start of the season. But Arch Manning.

Speaker 3 (32:39):
Now, in the last two games, I'm gonna give it
to him. He has thrown for three hundred plus yards
three touchdowns against SEC.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
You know team so all great and dandy, but a
lot of.

Speaker 3 (32:52):
Those yards came after the catch, Like I feel like
that's a little bit deceiving. So, now nine games in
ten games in what is your assessment of Arch Manning.

Speaker 5 (33:01):
He's an average quarterback.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
He's an average quarterback with the name Manning.

Speaker 4 (33:05):
Right, I mean, and this is no knock on him.
His father Cooper, the non quarterback brother. You know, he's
not Peyton's son, and he's not Eli Sutton. He's Cooper son.
And so I mean, I'm not gonna say it's one
of the great con jobs of all time.

Speaker 5 (33:24):
But think about this. He sat for.

Speaker 4 (33:27):
Two full years behind a quarterback that ended up being
a seventh round draft pick in the NFL, And I'm thinking,
if he was that.

Speaker 5 (33:36):
Good, why is he not playing?

Speaker 4 (33:41):
And meanwhile, he was making millions in NIL and obviously
then finally we had to unveil him. In his third
year at Texas, they had the opening game against Ohio State,
and by the way, that game was actually worse if
you watch the film than what you actually saw in
the game, because the problem was their worse the receivers there.

Speaker 5 (34:01):
He just didn't pull the trigger.

Speaker 4 (34:04):
And so again when you go back even to his
high school years, he was at one of those high
schools where they're playing a lesser competition. He's rolling up
numbers and his name is Arch Manning. So you know, look,
he's not going to go into the NFL Draft. He's
going to come back to Texas next year.

Speaker 2 (34:23):
Yep, that's what I think too.

Speaker 4 (34:24):
Right now, he's not doing a whole lot. Georgia's up
fourteen to three over Texas.

Speaker 5 (34:28):
He's like seven for eleven and seventy five yards, not
really doing anything. And we'll see next year. But right now,
I mean he would not be anywhere near a first
round pick.

Speaker 4 (34:37):
Yeah, for sure. But I'm not going to say it
was a great con job. But in this day and
age of nil money, you can make millions and millions
of dollars as a collegiate athlete without actually doing anything,
and that really has been the story of Arch Manning.

Speaker 3 (34:52):
I think Hartman would say that Texas Longhorns are guilty
of counniness.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
What else or who else would we say is guilty. Well,
we're going to get into sports court next, so don't
go anywhere. He is Steve, I'm Monty and this is
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 8 (35:08):

Speaker 3 (35:20):
Hello, everybody, Happy Saturday, Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (35:23):
I am Monty Bilanos. He is Steve Hartman. Yes he
has a Heisman vote in case you did not.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
Know, if he's filling in for Marion Weiss, who is
fulfilling his duties as a new husband.

Speaker 4 (35:34):
Well, you know, has he has he spoken to you,
you know, off air at all about how his young
marriage is going.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
He has. I've gotten to no more Rowell the last
couple of weeks.

Speaker 5 (35:48):
I'm not surprised.

Speaker 2 (35:49):
Yes, he's a lot to share.

Speaker 5 (35:50):
When you're when you when you first get married, it's
a shock to the system, right and by the way,
it goes both ways, it's not just the guy, it's
you know, it's on both sides. It's you're now legally
tied to somebody.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (36:06):
We are legally tied to our producer Shaane Morgan guard, Shay,
what you got for us?

Speaker 9 (36:12):
All Rise sports Car is now in session. Some of
the biggest names is Spory on the docket and they've
got some explaining to do. All right, your judges, Lester
is Manzy Blano, Steve Hartman. Not a single bar exampassed
between the two of them. Now, let's get right into it.
Tom Brady stands accused of what meant to get into

(36:32):
this last week. So this is actually Ian's. Tom Brady
recently revealed that his current dog is a clone of
his previous one. His current dog, Juny, is a scientific
clone of his late pitfull Lua. As you guys might expect,
the Internet's reaction to this information has been mixed. So
what do you guys think? Tom Brady? Guilty or not guilty?

Speaker 5 (36:51):
Manty?

Speaker 7 (36:51):
Let's start with you.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
Absolutely not guilty.

Speaker 3 (36:55):
If I had the money for it, I.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
Old Dexter, Okay, so I don't blame him. Not guilty?

Speaker 4 (37:03):
Well, considering we lost two dogs with Duke and Lola, yeah,
I mean, would I clone them absolutely? I mean I
don't know about Lola's personality, Yes we would, But Dookie
was such a chill guy. I mean, how why would
you not want to clone your dogs, and so it's
a good question for the both of us because we

(37:24):
have lost our dear believes Yeah babies.

Speaker 2 (37:27):
Yeah, not guilty. Way to go, Tom.

Speaker 5 (37:30):
How did you feel about it, Shay?

Speaker 9 (37:32):
I am not a dog owner, and I never have
been a dog owner, So I do think it's a
little creepy, a little you know what it's.

Speaker 5 (37:38):
It's so it's I was never a dog owner. We did.

Speaker 4 (37:41):
I wasn't raised with dogs until I got married, and
then all of a sudden we got a dog before
we had kids, and now I'm a total dog.

Speaker 9 (37:48):
It makes sense, right, I had a turtle, I'd clone
the turtle. There you go, So yeah, maybe I would.

Speaker 2 (37:53):
There you go.

Speaker 7 (37:54):
Lamello Ball, come to the stand.

Speaker 2 (37:55):
Lamello Ball, what did he do?

Speaker 9 (37:57):
Back in the twenty twenty NBA draft of Minnesota, timber
took Anthony Edwards first of all, but at the time
he wasn't considered a consensus number one overall pick. LaMelo
Ball was in that conversation too well. In a recent
episode of the Zach Low podcast, The Athletics that John
Krazinski shared on an interesting tidbit about LaMelo's pre draft process,
which might have played into the Minnesota's decision to pass
on him. Apparently in an interview, when the Timbers asked

(38:20):
LaMelo about his post basketball plans, he responded that he
wants to be presidents of the United States. I guess
he's really shooting for the stars. So what do you think,
LaMelo Ball guilty or not guilty?

Speaker 5 (38:33):
Well, I don't have a problem with LaMelo Ball. He
can be whatever he wants to be.

Speaker 4 (38:36):
I mean, first of all, when it comes to president
of the United States, and this goes for every man
because there's never been a woman yet yet that has
held the position. Their path to be in the president
there is no exact.

Speaker 2 (38:53):
Path, right right, I mean at all.

Speaker 5 (38:55):
Everyone talks about Trump, but I mean, I mean, how
about Harry Drewan never graduated college, he never attended college,
and he became the president of the United States. So
I if LaMelo Ball wants to be president or power
to him.

Speaker 2 (39:10):
Yeah, no, I'm letting him go. You're not guilty. Why.
I mean, like, this is what if.

Speaker 3 (39:14):
I'm interviewing someone and they tell me something like they
have this aspiration that is like so crazy outside of
the job that I'm interviewing him for, I'd be.

Speaker 2 (39:22):
Like yes, I love that you have that aspiration.

Speaker 3 (39:25):
Go be president, but first I need you to go
win me an NBA championship.

Speaker 9 (39:29):
Not guilty show's ambition. Let's do this one quick. Bill
Belichick come to the stand.

Speaker 2 (39:33):
Guilty boy.

Speaker 9 (39:33):
He may be one of the greatest NFL coaches in history,
but a new statement he just released he will not
be pursuing any.

Speaker 7 (39:39):
NFL head coaching opportunities.

Speaker 9 (39:41):
Belichick says he has great respect to the Giants in
their ownership, but shut down any speculation that he's trying
to get back on the sideline. Is he truly done
or is this just misdirection from Bill?

Speaker 7 (39:52):
Is he guilty or un guilty?

Speaker 3 (39:53):
He's guilty because Jordan Hudson is still around, so.

Speaker 2 (39:57):
In a straight to jail. I don't know what's go
I don't believe.

Speaker 3 (40:00):
I bet you she's the one writing these emails and
speaking and saying he's that he's not interested guilty.

Speaker 5 (40:06):
His post Tom Brady run in New England spoke volumes,
and obviously what has happened in North Carolina has spoken
more volumes. This is his way of turning down a
job that was never offered to him. Nobody has interest
in him. Right now in the NFL to hire him.
So he says, well, you know, I'm not interested in
the end, They're not interested in you.

Speaker 10 (40:26):
Man.

Speaker 3 (40:27):
Guilty, guilty, Come on, that is false Scot on the
other side, Divas, that's right.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
What's up everybody?

Speaker 3 (40:36):
Thanks for tuning in to our number two on this Saturday.
As you heard Steve Hartman in for Martin Weise who
is off fulfilling his husband duties. So you get to
come in and hang out with me and Fox Sports
Radio Nation for three hours.

Speaker 2 (40:54):
Steve, thank you for being here.

Speaker 3 (40:56):
You could have left me with somebody else, You could
have left me with the stranger, but instead here you
are double dipping because I know you have to go
to work after this.

Speaker 11 (41:03):
I do.

Speaker 5 (41:04):
I have TV where I'm going to be talking about UCLA.

Speaker 2 (41:08):
How's that going for you?

Speaker 4 (41:10):
It's almost halftime. The good news is it looks like
they can survive the rest of the halt. There's sixteen
seconds ago. The problem is down twenty four and nothing.
By the way Jillian's saying it, came into the game
completing eighty point nine percent of.

Speaker 5 (41:24):
His passes, which, by the way, no one has ever.

Speaker 4 (41:26):
Done eighty percent in a Division one season, and in
this game he's completing ninety percent.

Speaker 3 (41:31):
Of course, yes, is that a testament to how bad
UCLA's defense is or is that a testament to how
good he is?

Speaker 4 (41:37):
I think a little of both, low both, But I mean,
remember Indiana beat UCLA fifty six to six, and I
think Ryan Day is aware.

Speaker 2 (41:46):
Of trying to get there, so he wants.

Speaker 5 (41:48):
To make sure that we beat UCLA as bad, if
not worse than Indiana than Indiana did.

Speaker 2 (41:54):
But has has.

Speaker 3 (41:55):
Ohio State had multiple games? Indiana has crushed everyone they
could until the Penn Stake, until the Penn State game,
but they were literally like trying to crush your soul.

Speaker 2 (42:06):
I don't know if played like that all season.

Speaker 4 (42:08):
They haven't, But I mean, look, if you're gonna go
man for man, Ohio State just has better talent than
in the end. Yes, that doesn't mean they're a better team.
It just means they have more talent. And we'll see
how that plays out again. What we're looking at, folks,
unless they stumble again.

Speaker 5 (42:24):
To Michigan like they did last year.

Speaker 4 (42:26):
And Michigan's a little bit better, although they have the
freshman quarterback and he showed it today through a couple
of picks. They had five turnovers against Northwestern, still survive
that game. But let's just assume that Ohio State and
Indiana went out and we have a battle of unbeaten's,
Heisman's on, everything's on the line for that game. Ohio
State obviously be favored in that game. But but that

(42:47):
doesn't mean.

Speaker 5 (42:48):
They'll win that.

Speaker 2 (42:49):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure.

Speaker 7 (42:51):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (42:51):
There's a couple of big matchups in the NFL coming up,
you know, to wrap up Week eleven, and one of
the teams that has a big matchup the Eagles. But
the Eagles have a diva problem?

Speaker 2 (43:04):
Is that what they have a diva problem amongst other things. Listen,
they're they're in it. What are they? Seven and two?

Speaker 3 (43:11):
They won three in a row. Although it hasn't been
a pretty season. When was it that the was it
last year?

Speaker 2 (43:18):
The Chiefs were like, yeah, they're they're ten and two,
but they're not that good. You look at the Eagles,
Oh that's not great.

Speaker 4 (43:25):
That's when you have a punt right before the half
that you drill into the chest of someone that's five
yards away from you. There was sixteen seconds left and
a half. I said, well, least you see like I
can literally change the course of anything with very words.
It's unbelievable.

Speaker 5 (43:46):
So Ohio State will have a few seconds left to
try to add to the lead, but the guy literally
hit it off the side of his foot right into
the chest of the Ohio State defender who wasn't really
going to block it. So, okay, so that was just
shocked the right. Yeah, bad, that was That was here.

Speaker 4 (44:02):
Here's the thing about And I was hearing our dear
friend TJ Huschman Zada talk about this today on their
show earlier today, and so he was defending AJ Brown, okay,
and the reason again obviously TJ former Pro Bowl wide
receiver in his own right, he goes, understand this, my
livelihood depends on me producing numbers as a wide receiver,

(44:24):
just like it would for anybody. He goes, Imagine you're
hired to do a job and then they are preventing
you from doing your job. That's the way he was
able to sort of explain the AJ Brown situation. My
retort to that would be this, that's fun if you're
frustrated in how many touches you're getting or why am

(44:45):
I not a bigger part of this offense? Especially since
our offense isn't really producing a lot, you don't do
it publicly. That's that's where AJ Brown has crossed. It's
not because he repeats it.

Speaker 5 (44:57):
Now. One thing about I know Philip Helia media really well,
and so they'll bait you.

Speaker 4 (45:03):
I mean, they know how to beta guy like this.
You know, they'll get this guy to start talking because
they'll say, wow, you got to be frustrated again.

Speaker 5 (45:11):
What'd you get?

Speaker 4 (45:11):
You know, three touches, you know, the targets in the
game and everything else, and you got to shy away
from that and unfortunately keeps opening his mouth.

Speaker 2 (45:19):
And let's actually play what he said.

Speaker 3 (45:22):
Okay, we've got sound of aj Brown on a live
Twitch stream and this is what kicked everything off for
this week.

Speaker 7 (45:30):
If you've got me on Fantasy, there, you're.

Speaker 6 (45:33):
Rid of the perfect.

Speaker 2 (45:34):
If you got me on Fantasy, get rid of me.

Speaker 5 (45:37):
You have him on Fantasy.

Speaker 3 (45:39):
No, I have DeVante Smith and it's worked out for
me because he's being a bit of a.

Speaker 2 (45:43):
Diva, which is not something new.

Speaker 3 (45:45):
And listen, divas can can coexist and work together. And
when we saw Kobe and Shaq do it for many
years until they got tired of each other and then
went their separate ways.

Speaker 2 (45:54):
So this, this diva mentality is it's not new. It's
not like the Eagles are not used to this type
of behavior either.

Speaker 3 (46:00):
So AJ Brown on a live stream of Twitch says
that gets asked about it, and this is what he
had to say, because after.

Speaker 12 (46:08):
The game, I said all the right answers, I still
made a story. You know that in that moment where
I'm just talking to my friend having fun with my friend.

Speaker 7 (46:18):
I'm not apologizing for that.

Speaker 12 (46:19):
Like like I said, because if you have eyes, you
can see that, and so like it's not that I
was throwing anybody on the bus. I'm literally trying to
laugh through this, but I'm trying to make fun of
the situation and to try to get through it.

Speaker 6 (46:29):
So you know, it is what it is.

Speaker 3 (46:32):
Four games this season where he's recorded below thirty receiving yards.
But in that clip, he says, I said the right
thing after the game. But that's what we're saying, AJ Brown.
You say one thing and then you think you can
spin it by saying the right thing quote unquote, and
like we're gonna forget what you said earlier.

Speaker 4 (46:50):
Okay, So okay, this is sort of a catch twenty
two for him. Obviously, he's a man that has talent
and we've seen some huge numbers from aj On over
the course of his career. But the problem right now
is is that the Eagles are proving they can win
without aj Brown, right, So how valuable is AJ Brown?

(47:12):
I mean if he's if he's barely registering a pulse
in this offense and they're still winning games, then how
valuable is he? So you know, he may be frustrated
and then let's say, fine, we'll ship you off to
some you know, non playoff team where you could get
a bunch of empty numbers. Had your stats that will

(47:34):
not translate into wins. So what exactly is your legacy here?

Speaker 3 (47:38):
It seems like he doesn't care about his legacy, right,
He just wants to have high numbers because he's already
a Super Bowl winner? So is that why he doesn't
care about winning another one? Because that's been checked off
his list? So now he just wants it to be
that he has all.

Speaker 2 (47:52):
These receptions and all these yards and all these touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (47:55):
I don't know, but if I'm Nick Sirianni, I'm frustrated,
and it sounds like he is frustrated as he responded
to the media.

Speaker 13 (48:04):
I'm close to being done answering these questions with us.
Like he's working hard and he is a big part
of this game plan and it'll be a big part
of the game plan going forward.

Speaker 3 (48:16):
So you move forward with him and you just try
and go as there's no problem.

Speaker 2 (48:20):
Is that how you approach this.

Speaker 3 (48:21):
You're about to face the Lions, You're coming into to
the second half of the season.

Speaker 2 (48:25):
How is this not a distraction?

Speaker 4 (48:27):
Well, you could say it's a distraction, but they're still
sitting with the seven to two records, So I mean,
as long as the Eagles are where they are now,
if they start losing games and then that's a whole
different story.

Speaker 5 (48:40):
So at this point, it's just sort of a distraction.

Speaker 4 (48:42):
It doesn't look good for him because unfortunately he has
been baited by the media to talk about this, and
he bites and he continues to voice his frustration that
he's not more of this offense. But you know, again
from Nick Sirianni's standpoint, look, I'm we've been trying to
get our superstar running back, who is the number one

(49:04):
guy in our offense untracked. I mean his numbers are
way down from where they were a year ago. So
overall the entire offense has been discombobulated. And then in
spite of that, they are still winning the problem again
for and again. I go back what TJ houschman Zada
was saying earlier today is because it's about getting paid.

(49:24):
I love that about TJ because he's very honest. And
so if his deal comes up and he has no
more guaranteed money in his contract, negotiated a new deal
with the Eagles.

Speaker 5 (49:35):
And they're like, see, you know, numbers are really down.
AJ numbers are down.

Speaker 4 (49:41):
Sorry, I mean, there no way we can pay you
what you were making because look, the numbers aren't there anymore.

Speaker 5 (49:46):
I don't know if that's by design.

Speaker 6 (49:48):
See that?

Speaker 5 (49:48):
See that?

Speaker 4 (49:49):
That's where you would get a little bit into that
paranoid shale. Are you guys purposely locking me out of
the offense to bring my salary number?

Speaker 3 (50:01):
Okay, I didn't think of it from that perspective, But
you're also not making yourself look good for another team
to want to take a.

Speaker 5 (50:10):
Chance on you exactly.

Speaker 2 (50:12):
That's that's kind.

Speaker 3 (50:12):
Of like the double edged sort of he's it seems
like he's got a lot around him. Because it's like
if if you're worried about your guaranteed money, which that
seems that's very common for us to hear from players,
but you're you're not selling it to other teams that
you can come in and fit into a system easily.
It seems like you're going to cause problems. And the

(50:34):
Eagles are winning, but like last week, they're winning, You're
you're not going to beat many teams when you score
just ten points. So there's it's it's they're winning, but
they're they're surviving. They're surviving, and they didn't they don't
look I think, as good as they want to look.
And here you're coming down to again the later part

(50:55):
of the season where you're about to face some teams
like the Lions, I mean, the Cowboys grow up and down,
the Bears, the Bills, commanders out, the window chargers, like,
it's not going to be an easy rest of the
way for the Eagles to tighten up and get it together.
And I just don't know what you do with aj
Brown because you obviously didn't trade him. He's still on
your bench. He's still sitting there, not on the bench,
but you're not utilizing him. You can't just put him

(51:20):
off to the side.

Speaker 2 (51:21):
He'll get more vocal.

Speaker 4 (51:22):
I mean, the irony of this entire thing is, so
you know, he was with the Titans, you know, and
they weren't a passing team obviously at the same you know,
Derek Hendrick Henry, so they're running the ball. So he
comes to Philadelphia and they had those two first years
were monster years, over fourteen hundred yards receiving, and they're
targeting him a third of the time, more than he

(51:43):
was being targeted in Tennessee. So really it was the
Eagles that gave him an opportunity to showcase his talent.
Last year, the numbers were already heading downward because why
sekwon Barclay ran for two thousand yards.

Speaker 5 (51:57):
Look at it.

Speaker 4 (51:59):
The problem again this year is that Barkley hasn't been producing.
They've had some changes on the offensive line, but the
Eagles are always going to be a.

Speaker 5 (52:07):
One first team.

Speaker 4 (52:09):
This wasn't going to be like this forever where aj
Brown was going to have you know, one hundred catches.
I mean, you look at the numbers that he had
in twenty twenty two and twenty twenty three, got eighty
eight passes, which in this day and age is a
big number, but not out of site number. Then he
caught one hundred and six passes in twenty twenty three,
well over fourteen hundred yards both times. Look, aj Brown
is a really good receiver, a really good receiver.

Speaker 5 (52:32):
Is he Is he one in the top five? No
he's not.

Speaker 2 (52:35):
Yeah, I was gonna say no. And the way he's acting,
he's acting like he is, right, I.

Speaker 5 (52:40):
Mean, I'm sorry, I mean. And then these these receivers
they come and go and we talk about receivers and
in terms like wow, this guy is like the best
guy ever, and then they all of a sudden they're not.
You know, that's the problem with being a wide receiver.
Somebody has to throw you the ball. There's nothing else
you can do. You know. It's not like a running

(53:01):
back where they're going to hand you the ball and
then you do your thing.

Speaker 4 (53:04):
You need a quarterback that can actually get you to
the ball. It was like Randy Moss, right, he comes
in the league. It's got rand o'cunneyam they got this
dynamic offense in Minnesota.

Speaker 5 (53:12):
Then he ends up with the Raiders. They had no
quarterback and so for two years, he completely fell off
the map and they basically gave him away to New England.
His first year in New England.

Speaker 4 (53:21):
He breaks all the records because he has oh I
don't know Tom Brady throwing the ball. So again, I
don't want to downplay wide receivers because there are receivers insane.

Speaker 5 (53:31):
But at the same time, there's nothing he can do
about it. And if he would rather play for a
bad team and put up numbers then having less production
on a team that is a Super Bowl champion, super
Bowl contender, yeah, that says a lot about his character
and his priority in what almost every player will tell
you is the ultimate team sport.

Speaker 3 (53:54):
And at this point we've have just had so many
conversations of Ajun not being a team player.

Speaker 2 (54:03):
At this point, it is what it is.

Speaker 3 (54:04):
If it quacts like a duck, that's duck, right, Like
he's unhappy until you just give him.

Speaker 4 (54:10):
As he said, at any point here, you're misinterpreting what
I say.

Speaker 5 (54:14):
No, he hasn't said any of that, No, but he thinks.

Speaker 3 (54:17):
He says other things after games where he's like, I
just want to help the team, and I want to
He has said things like that in order to kind of,
I think.

Speaker 4 (54:23):
But he wants to help the team by getting the ball, by.

Speaker 3 (54:28):
Getting the ball more right, and like you pointed out,
they've won without.

Speaker 2 (54:32):
Him, right.

Speaker 4 (54:33):
But I mean again, they're another They're like all these
teams right now where you're like, are they really there?
You know, I'll be honest with you right now, the
Eagles are a team we have not talked about in
the show.

Speaker 5 (54:47):
Right now, in my mind currently is the best team
in the NFL. We have not mentioned this team once
today in the NFC.

Speaker 2 (54:56):
Are they in the entire v but are they in
the in the NFC? I know who you're talking about. Yeah,
And I think we're gonna talk about them later, Okay,
I think we're gonna dive into that.

Speaker 3 (55:04):
Do they do they happen to play nearby?

Speaker 2 (55:08):
Do they happen to play nearby? I know who you're
talking about. We'll get into We're gonna get into that.

Speaker 5 (55:12):
But I just they play in Sherman Oaks.

Speaker 2 (55:16):
They play near by, That's all I'm saying. Near by.

Speaker 3 (55:19):
I if I'm the Eagles, I am having a sit
down conversation with aj Brown behind closed doors, and I
am lighting a fire up as you know what, and
saying these are your options. You either get with it
or you're sitting on that bench pretending to read a
book the rest of the season.

Speaker 5 (55:35):
Right, that's it. Will We'll send you down cam Ward
to Love throwing the ball to you.

Speaker 2 (55:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (55:41):
Literally, I just I if you the Eagles have a
chance to repeat, they do have a legitimate chance to
read and you have this guy that is making it
harder for you at the worst time of the season
as you're headed into the end of it. I feel
like you guys got to have a sit down conversation
behind closed doors and.

Speaker 2 (55:59):
Make it click for him.

Speaker 5 (56:02):
But I don't know.

Speaker 4 (56:02):
I I again, the fact is they keep winning. With
all the subtraction, they still are winning games.

Speaker 2 (56:09):
They're still winning.

Speaker 4 (56:10):
And that gets down to your quarterback. He is he's
not about this nonsense.

Speaker 5 (56:14):
He really is not.

Speaker 4 (56:14):
He's focused in on doing whatever it's necessary to win games.

Speaker 2 (56:19):
Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (56:20):

gears on the other side.

Speaker 2 (56:46):
Was he robbed? Was he robbed?

Speaker 3 (56:50):
We're gonna get into that. He's Steve Hartman. I am
Anti Bolanos and this is Fox Sports Radio. Welcome back
to the Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (56:58):
I am Anti Bilangos.

Speaker 3 (56:59):
He is Steve Hartman and for Martin Weiss, thanks for
hanging out with us. We are coming to you live
from the Fox Sports Radio studios. And don't forget that
you can hit us both up on Twitter. You can
find me Twitter X. Excuse me, our producer Shane Morgan
guard called me out for so calling it Twitter x
X on Moncy you find me at Monte Bellias across

(57:21):
social media.

Speaker 2 (57:21):
Canon Hartman you can find him on X.

Speaker 5 (57:24):
That's really long, but it's easy to remember. It is
Cannon Hartman.

Speaker 3 (57:28):
It's very easy to remember. Just in case you forgot
that Hartman has a high.

Speaker 4 (57:32):
I guess that's why I say X because X is
shorter than Twitter. And when you have a longer handle.
It's easier to go to it is.

Speaker 2 (57:39):
It is easier to go to X. It's true. But
if you're right Twitter dot Com, it takes you there,
all right, Steve.

Speaker 3 (57:45):
Not long ago, just a few days ago, we got
the MVPs in baseball National League show Heyo Tani back
to back becomes just the second player in history to
have four MVPs under his belt. A season or maybe
halfway you were wondering if Kyl Schwarber could take the
MVP from him, but it really was pretty clear by
the end of it that Otani was going to win

(58:07):
the MVP.

Speaker 4 (58:07):
All right, So let's put it in perspective. Four obviously
is impressive. Only Barry Bonds with seven as more. But
understand this, Shohey is the only player to have had
more than one unanimous vote. All four of his have beenianas,
all of them getting every single first place vote thirty

(58:29):
out of thirty four.

Speaker 5 (58:30):
Times in the last five years.

Speaker 4 (58:32):
That is what's absolutely mind blowing about show Hey Otani
and the MVP Awards. And it's not just the fact
that he's won four. He's won four unanimously.

Speaker 2 (58:44):
Yes, yes he has. And if you were watching the
MLB Awards.

Speaker 3 (58:47):
It was funny to me because they had him on
screen along with one Soda and cal Schwarber and one
Sodo and kul Schwarber.

Speaker 2 (58:52):
We're both kind of like, why am I here?

Speaker 5 (58:54):
We know he's going to win. I am glad you
mentioned this. Okay, I got to ask you. So he
was there with his wife, yes, and there and then
the three people behind.

Speaker 2 (59:05):
Him, well I'm not entirely sure.

Speaker 4 (59:08):
Okay, well they were incidental, they were Okay, So Don
manningly makes the announcement that SHOHEO, Tony's one of the
most Viable Player Award. He then leans over and he
could see his wife just like ready to get kissed,
except he.

Speaker 5 (59:23):
Kissed the dog. Yes, yes, he did not kiss his wife. No,
he kissed the dog. Am I right?

Speaker 2 (59:33):
No, you're not. You are correct, You are not wrong.

Speaker 5 (59:36):
Like she sort of turned to him because he was
turning toward her, feeling like, you know, you need to
give a nice little polite kiss, you know, Mark, And
instead he leans down and gives a full on kiss
to their dog that she's holding, and really left her
empty handed.

Speaker 2 (59:54):
Yeah, but she handled it like a champ. She actually
she handled it like a champ.

Speaker 5 (59:57):
She didn't make give it. You mentioned that afterwards.

Speaker 3 (01:00:00):
Yeah, she was probably like you made me look kind
of silly for a second, but she she handled it
really well that you kind of if you didn't notice it,
you didn't notice it right, Like she didn't stay there looking.

Speaker 4 (01:00:08):
Or like you if you were in her position, would
you have been upset?

Speaker 2 (01:00:12):
No, because it's the dog. I understand, you know what
I'm saying. I've just been like, well.

Speaker 5 (01:00:17):
The thing about it is, though you don't want to
kiss the dog and then kiss her, right, you know,
but you can't.

Speaker 2 (01:00:21):
I mean I I I understood.

Speaker 3 (01:00:24):
I thought it was funny too, but I thought it
was more like innocent in the moment, Like I don't
think he thought about it.

Speaker 2 (01:00:28):
He just went for the dog a baby. They also,
where's the baby?

Speaker 5 (01:00:33):
The dog is there? I mean, the dog's a star
apparently in that house.

Speaker 3 (01:00:36):
Did you also noticed? Because I'm sure you'll love this
in case you missed it. He had a translator, right,
so he's right. But then at the end the guys
talking to him through the screen were like, oh, is
decoy gonna get like an extra treat?

Speaker 2 (01:00:47):
And he he did not need a translator to tell.

Speaker 3 (01:00:49):
Him that, and he was like, yeah, Like it makes
me laugh when he doesn't use a translator.

Speaker 4 (01:00:55):
I don't understand this at the parade, so they were
at Dodger Stadium. Now you're do you know, but Yamamoto
did speak a little English. You can tell with him
it's a little newer. Yeah, Sho Hay has played eight
Major League seasons yep, eight yep. And then he spoke
rather clearly English at the parade. Why are we still

(01:01:16):
with this interpreter. You don't have to be perfect, No,
give it. And I go back to Fernando Vealezuela, who
was much younger at the time. He had an interpret
for like three years and then all of a sudden
he was speaking English.

Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
Right now, it's going.

Speaker 3 (01:01:30):
To be a security blanket at this point, because it's
just it's funny.

Speaker 2 (01:01:33):
It's funny. It is funny, not funny.

Speaker 3 (01:01:36):
In the American League side of things, where the MVP
was a big question mark, it was it was up
until the very end, who and you could argue either side.
I felt like there was a good argument for Aaron Judge.
There was also a good argument for cal Rawly and

(01:01:59):
maybe the this is why I am not a voter,
but I would have maybe voted what do I say,
emotionally and would have voted for Cal Rawly.

Speaker 4 (01:02:08):
All right, So in the history and I follow this
closely as you know, over the years with Major League Baseball,
and they've been voting for MVPs for almost one hundred years.

Speaker 5 (01:02:16):
The modern MVP, they're all over the map. Yeah, Like
You've had guys that have.

Speaker 4 (01:02:22):
Had great stats on bad teams that didn't make the playoffs,
and then you've had guys with mediocre stats whose team
did make the playoffs. Kirk Gibson the prime example of
this with the Dodgers back in nineteen eighty eight, he
won the MVP award. Darryl Strawberry with the Mets, had
better stats, but everyone recognized that, you know, it was
the emotional leader that he had brought the Dodgers back
from the dead. And this is before obviously the home

(01:02:44):
run in the World Series. So this was really the
question because judges numbers were literally off the charts crazy.
The majors, not just the American League, the majors in
what I call the modern day triple Crown, which is
batting average, on base percentage, slugging, percentage, so he led
the majors in all three of those categories. On the

(01:03:05):
flip side, cal Rawly, let's take away the fact that
he hit sixty home runs as a catcher or also
led the American League and runs bad at it. He
led the Mariners to their first division title in twenty
four years, and his consistency throughout the year was remarkable
because normally, when you're catching that many games, by the
end of the season, guest, you're really gassed, and it

(01:03:28):
really usually reflects at the plate absolutely, and it.

Speaker 5 (01:03:31):
Didn't with cal And he gets to the sixty home runs.
If I had a vote, this is a really tough
t really hard.

Speaker 4 (01:03:39):
It's really hard because obviously it's unfortunate because in almost
any other year cal Rawly wins the MVP award exactly.

Speaker 5 (01:03:49):
But judges numbers were so off the charts. And remember
the Yankees tied the Blue Jays were the best record
in the American League, so they weren't like some also
ran team. They had a lot of injury.

Speaker 4 (01:04:00):
He's in judge was such a consistent for so, you know,
we talked about cal Rawly helping the Mariners win a division, Well, yeah,
the Yankees don't make the playoffs without Aaron Judge's season.

Speaker 2 (01:04:09):
Both were so valuable to their team.

Speaker 3 (01:04:11):
But in a day where like hitting is values so
much in baseball, what Aaron Judge did with a batting
average where nobody has a high batting.

Speaker 2 (01:04:20):
Average anymore, No, he managed to do it and do
it well.

Speaker 3 (01:04:24):
He wasn't with power, with power right because sometimes you know,
remember like luisad Eyes.

Speaker 5 (01:04:28):
Yeah, exactly went three straight batting right, but he was.

Speaker 2 (01:04:31):
Just making contact and getting on base. Good for you
because well here.

Speaker 5 (01:04:35):
Arrise won the batting title and he had a war of.

Speaker 2 (01:04:38):
One exactly one exactly exactly.

Speaker 5 (01:04:41):
Whinning a batting title to show you how you know,
it doesn't mean any it does.

Speaker 2 (01:04:45):
It really doesn't.

Speaker 3 (01:04:46):
But for Aaron Judge to do it the way he did,
I understood why it was such a tough decision.

Speaker 2 (01:04:52):
He won what seventeen of the thirteen first place the there.

Speaker 4 (01:04:57):
Was thirty voters and they were first and second on
Ald Bell. Okay, so seventeen first thirteen seconds rally had
thirteen for seventeen seconds. It would have been great if
they both had fifteen.

Speaker 2 (01:05:07):
It really, honestly, and.

Speaker 4 (01:05:09):
By the way, we did have a tie way back
in nineteen seventy nine Willie Stargel and Keith Hernandez. And
by the way, that was the year where Hernandez had
the better numbers, but Stargo was sort of recognized as
just being the emotional leader of the pirates that year,
and they tied, and so they both get an award.

Speaker 5 (01:05:24):
That's the only time we've had a tie.

Speaker 3 (01:05:25):
And that's where Baseball I think dropped the ball. You
could have sneakily manipulated it and just made it a tie.

Speaker 4 (01:05:30):
Oh yeah, because nowadays, you know, it's interesting because and
I've talked to John Paul Morosi about this, whereas.

Speaker 5 (01:05:37):
You know, he's been a long time member of the
Baseball Writers Association does vote for some of these awards.
I go, there seems to be a lot more unity
in the voting.

Speaker 4 (01:05:45):
A little bit now, Yeah, Like it seems like, you know,
the same guys are getting the same number of votes.
Like one guys that gets every third place vote. I mean,
how does that happen?

Speaker 5 (01:05:55):
Right?

Speaker 3 (01:05:55):
Right?

Speaker 4 (01:05:56):
We see more of that, So obviously I think there
is a lot more converse station a lot more consensus
thinking when it comes to voting for these awards.

Speaker 5 (01:06:05):
So yeah, I even know, a couple of guys said, well,
who are you voting for? Tell you what I'll vote
for Rawly if you do this. Yeah, and the type
of thing.

Speaker 2 (01:06:12):
I really feel like they should have done that, and
I think it would have.

Speaker 5 (01:06:15):
Just it's unfortunately because cal Rawley again had.

Speaker 2 (01:06:18):
Unfair fair to go up against Aaron Judge. You should
have been the m v P. Aaron Judge. You were wonderful.

Speaker 3 (01:06:23):
And at the same time, I'm so torn about the
conversation Steve, because at the same time I'm like, I'm
glad Aaron Judge won it and that there wasn't voter fatigue,
like it's both you know, we see it so much.

Speaker 2 (01:06:34):
Should have won it.

Speaker 4 (01:06:35):
Well, Tani's proving that as well, exactly the unanimous, unanimous, unanimously.

Speaker 5 (01:06:39):
But he had no he had no competition with like
Schwarber led the league and home runs and runs bad.

Speaker 3 (01:06:45):
It is, yeah, and it was that there was a point,
but then it kind of like tapered off. While the
problem was that he tapered off and then Tony started pitching.

Speaker 5 (01:06:51):
You know, well that was it.

Speaker 4 (01:06:53):
That was Remember Otani had that one rough outing against
Colorado where he got lit up because he wasn't throwing
a lot of Indians. And I said at the time,
because at that time, as he are spiked over four,
I said, he's going to have to get that eer rave.
He want to win MVP, it's got to be in
the low threes. He actually got a blow three. Yep,
that was the clincher.

Speaker 2 (01:07:10):
No, it was.

Speaker 3 (01:07:11):
It was such an impressive year for all three of them,
and I really wish it would have ended.

Speaker 4 (01:07:15):
He No, I was surprised did not get more love
who will Smith. Will Smith was the most consistent hitter
for the Dodgers, and he obviously was among nationally catchers elite.

Speaker 5 (01:07:26):
He got one eighth place vote and one ninth place vote,
and that is it.

Speaker 3 (01:07:30):
It's it's the problem is you know what it is, Steve,
He's playing next to the stars that get the attention.

Speaker 5 (01:07:36):
Yeah, but the only other Dodger that got votes was
Freddie Freeman.

Speaker 3 (01:07:38):
But that's some point, it's like they're not they're gonna
look at show, Hey, they're gonna look at Freddy.

Speaker 2 (01:07:43):
They're gonna look at Mookie and then everybody else.

Speaker 5 (01:07:45):
But Mookie got zero, right, But people.

Speaker 2 (01:07:48):
Just don't think of will Smith because of who he's
surrounded by Now that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (01:07:53):
I just when a catcher a catcher. The MVV voters
love catchers to begin.

Speaker 5 (01:07:59):
Yeah, promise you that.

Speaker 4 (01:08:01):
It just seemed like he had one of those kind
of years that you know, you would get a little
more recognition than one eighth, one ninth place vote.

Speaker 5 (01:08:07):
Yeah, he would think so, but he had him the
top five.

Speaker 2 (01:08:09):
He also caught the entire World Series. I know that
that's absolutely, but would he is incredible? He is incredible.

Speaker 3 (01:08:14):
Absolutely. Let's go over to the news desk. Steve Desager
is there, Steve?

Speaker 2 (01:08:18):
Would you have voted for Aaron Judge or for cal Raly?

Speaker 6 (01:08:22):
I probably would have voted for Raleigh. They're obviously great,
great competitors for earning anyone's vote this season. But the
thing is when somebody does something like when Aaron Judge
had the American League home run record recently. Yeah, you
kind of lean it that this is a guy coming
off a gold Glove catcher season at a position that

(01:08:44):
you just don't get offense like that, and he broke
Mickey Mantle's all time record for home runs by a
switch hitter.

Speaker 5 (01:08:51):
Yeah, I mean you'll remember this, mister de Sager.

Speaker 4 (01:08:54):
So when Andre Dawson won the MVP a ward in
eighty seven, which is really like a makeup a ward
because he had come close couple times with the Expos,
he led the league in home runs and RBIs on
a last place team and Kirk Gibson won the next year.

Speaker 5 (01:09:07):
Kirk Gibson's win.

Speaker 4 (01:09:08):
Honestly was a reaction to what had happened the year before,
because the writers got so much heat, like saying, wait
to see it, How valuable could Andrey Dawson be? They
would have finished last with or without him, And Kirk
Gibson was on a team that had no offense RBI
season to be.

Speaker 5 (01:09:25):
Seventy six runs batted in and he still won the MVP.

Speaker 6 (01:09:28):
So, by the way, you were talking about translators, Philadimir
Guerrero Senior went fifteen years with a single interview.

Speaker 5 (01:09:35):
Say that, And by the way, he's still I say
this all that, You and I are the only ones
ever say this. He played sixteen years in the majors,
never once uttered a word of English. Ever.

Speaker 6 (01:09:47):
Ever, so let's just say I appreciate at the celebrations
at Dodger Stadium that we've heard English from Otani and Yemen,
because I know what I didn't hear from a guy
who made the Hall of Fame. Yes elsewhere programming note,
Fox TV has got a doubleheader of basketball, finishing up

(01:10:08):
the men's hoops game in Boston. Number three Yukon is
leading number seven BYU eighty five eighty two, ten seconds
to go. That's airing only on the Fox Sports app though,
because they've gone to the women's basketball game.

Speaker 5 (01:10:23):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (01:10:24):
End of one quarter. It's in downtown LA. A top
ten matchup with South Carolina leading USC twenty to sixteen.

Speaker 11 (01:10:31):
No I do.

Speaker 6 (01:10:32):
I don't know why they didn't, but okay, okay, it's
way over my pay grade, even mentioning it is over
my pay grader on this place. To college football, number one,
Ohio State is still shutting out UCLA twenty seven nothing.
Early in the third quarter. The Bruins are up to
thirty two yards passing with the back of nice.

Speaker 5 (01:10:51):
Nice.

Speaker 6 (01:10:51):
So there's that. There's a top ten matchup at Georgia,
with the Bulldogs ahead of Texas fourteen to three early
in the third. Late third quarter, thirteenth rank Utah leads
at Baylor thirty five to twenty, and late third quarter
the Florida Gators are still leading at number seven Ole
Miss twenty four to twenty Florida three and six this season.

(01:11:12):
The late game in about a half an hour will
have TCU at number twelve. BYU already, Texas A and
m somehow escaped with a home win their third ranked
they're still undefeated. They won thirty one thirty over South Carolina,
even though the Aggies trailed at halftime thirty to three.
Indiana and Texas Tech with wins Notre Dame as well.

(01:11:33):
Oklahoma won at number four Alabama twenty three twenty one
BAMA with three turnovers victories from Miami, Virginia and Tennessee.
Sixteenth ranked Georgia Tech won thirty six thirty four at
Boston College on a short field goal in the final seconds.
Usc won its top twenty five matchup on a saggy
field at the Coliseum against Iowa twenty six twenty one,

(01:11:54):
as the Trojans had trailed twenty one seven late in
the first half. Michigan ranked eighteen one against Northwestern at
Wrigley Field on a field goal as time expired. Navy
at home upset number twenty four South Florida forty one
thirty eight, although upset is in quotes Navy six and
one in the American Conference. South Florida had also lost

(01:12:15):
at Memphis. Recently, Arizona won at number twenty five Cincinnati
thirty to twenty four in the NBA Oklahoma City in
Action again tonight and it's another victory. The Thunder thirteen
and one after winning at the Hornets one oh nine
ninety six Shay Gilgess Alexander thirty three points, Cleveland beat
Memphis one o eight one hundred John Morant, Memphis guard

(01:12:36):
left with a sore calf I mentioned the College basketball
it's a four point Yukon lead over BYU with six
seconds to go. Now in the game. Thirteen NHL contests,
including Anaheim in action and Minnesota shut out the Ducks
two to nothing. Number one Carlos Alcarez will face number
two Rankedonic Center for the title Sunday at the ATP Finals.

(01:13:00):
Ver Broncos running back JK. Dobbins will have season ending
foot surgery and Hall of Fame safety Kenny Easily passed
away at the age of sixty six. He started with
the Seahawks and UCLA easily was drafted number four overall
in nineteen eighty one, Steve Hartman from UCLA. I remember
this guy as an incredibly physical defensive back. Quite a

(01:13:21):
ballhowk Well.

Speaker 5 (01:13:21):
I was mentioning a Monsei that I'd like to say
something about Kenny Easily. So Kenny Easily went to UCLA.

Speaker 4 (01:13:30):
When I went to Ucla, he was actually year after me,
but when I was sports enator of the Daily Brown.
This is a true story, so I have sports editor
of the Daily Brown. In nineteen seventy nine, we go
up to Stamford to play game and we had We're
a little on a losing streak and this was a
big game for ucl It was a tie game seconds
to go and the Stamford kicker, I believe his last

(01:13:54):
name was Neighbor, kicks a fifty six yard field goal
to win the game.

Speaker 5 (01:14:00):
Brutal loss for UCLA. So after the game, we got
the buses that.

Speaker 4 (01:14:06):
Are going to take us back to the airport and
I get on an empty bus. I'm waiting for the
team to come out of locker room, so I'm literally
the only person sitting on a bus. Kenny Easiley, our
All American safety, starts to walk on the bus. He
stops and he looks right at me. Again, I'm the

(01:14:28):
only person on the bus. There's not even a driver.
He looks at me and he goes, you're sitting in
my seat. And the look on his face. And he
was an imposing guy, sixty three, I mean, one of
the great all time players. And then he just walked

(01:14:50):
off the bus. So he looked at me, said you're
sitting in my seat, and then.

Speaker 5 (01:14:56):
Got off the bus.

Speaker 4 (01:14:58):
I got up and got off off that bus and
got on to another bus. So we get into the
LA airport and as I'm walking off the plane, I
feel a hand on my shoulder.

Speaker 5 (01:15:11):
I turn around. It's easily.

Speaker 4 (01:15:14):
He looks at me and he goes, I had you going, yes,
I go. I was not messing with you, Kenny at all.
He was such an amazing person. His career was cut.

Speaker 6 (01:15:30):
Short kidney diseases, erics.

Speaker 4 (01:15:32):
So what happened was this And this was at the
same time I was working for the RAID Organization and
Football Hall of Fame I was so excited for In fact,
I interviewed him when he got into the Hall of Fame.
We sort of reminisced back to the USA days. But
he was eating, he was taking advils. Advill was like
the new you know, ibuprofene thing and it looks like Eminem's.

(01:15:55):
He was eating like twenty a day for months and
it shut down in kidneys. He eventually at kidney transplant.
He never fully recovered, obviously ended his career.

Speaker 5 (01:16:05):
He maturely.

Speaker 6 (01:16:06):
The label warning does mean something.

Speaker 4 (01:16:08):
It does that they didn't, and he sued the Seahawks.
He sued the NFL because they didn't step in and
do anything. It was settled out of court.

Speaker 6 (01:16:15):
But needed a transplant, as I recall, makes it into
his sixties.

Speaker 5 (01:16:19):
He did, he did, and he had some heart problems
as well. But he was a phenomenal person, an incredible player.
So happy when he got into the Pro Football Hall
of Fame. I was in college Football Hall of Fame,
three time All Americans, So yeah, the great Kenny Easley.

Speaker 6 (01:16:32):
And he was also starting really a golden era of
UCLA football the nineteen eighties with the Hall of Fame.

Speaker 4 (01:16:39):
Absolutely absolutely, he finished top ten in the Heisman as
a safety on a five and sixty UCLA team.

Speaker 5 (01:16:44):
That's how good he was.

Speaker 2 (01:16:46):
Well, thank you Steve and Steve, thank you very thank
you both.

Speaker 3 (01:16:49):
On the other side of this an NFC West showdown
that we're going to dive into. Don't go anywhere. He
is Hartman, I am Bolanios. This is Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:16:59):
Fox Football Well Saturday.

Speaker 3 (01:17:02):
I am Anti Bilano's. He is Steve Hartman. Hartman filling
in for Martin O Weiss. What a big matchup happening
on Sunday tomorrow tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (01:17:12):
Actually a team that you've been high on for a minute.

Speaker 3 (01:17:17):
I was not high on either of these teams coming
into the season, and this game has huge implications. I'm
talking about the Seahawks and the Rams facing off tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (01:17:30):
Okay, the Rams, as we speak right now, are the
best team in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:17:36):
It really does look that way.

Speaker 4 (01:17:38):
Okay, we talk about MVPs. Matthew Stafford has twenty five touchdowns.

Speaker 5 (01:17:42):
And two picks.

Speaker 2 (01:17:43):
I know, it's crazy.

Speaker 4 (01:17:44):
So you have and by the way, DeVante Adams now
leads the NFL in receiving touchdowns. He has six in
the last three games. Phoka Nakua speaks for himself. You've
got Kira Williams of Pro Bowl running back. You have
a young defensive line that can get to the quarterback.
Who are the top three finishers in the Defensive Rookie
of the Year voting A year ago. I said before

(01:18:05):
the season, you know this, Monci that if Matthew Stafford
is healthy, remember his three season.

Speaker 2 (01:18:12):
The questions about his back back, yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:18:14):
Seizing up and everything else.

Speaker 4 (01:18:15):
But I said, if he is healthy, they are the
biggest challenge to the Eagles in the NFC. Well, not
only has he stayed healthy, he has never played better.
He is one of those very few players who played
a long time. I was never a huge Matthew Stafford
guy that I am now a Matthew Stafford guy.

Speaker 2 (01:18:33):
I understand that.

Speaker 3 (01:18:34):
I think coming into the season, I thought the Niners
were going to have the easiest route in that division
because of their schedule, so I thought that they could
do some damage right a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:18:43):
The Rams.

Speaker 3 (01:18:44):
I just had questions because of Matthew Stafford and his injuries,
his age.

Speaker 2 (01:18:49):
His immobility. You just didn't know what the Rams could do.

Speaker 3 (01:18:52):
Now you have Devonte Adams, you have Pukinakua, you have
Kien all the other stuff, but you had questions about
Matthew Stafford.

Speaker 2 (01:18:58):
Then with the Seahawks, I really I just didn't think
that they would be this good.

Speaker 3 (01:19:01):
But it seems like, the Seahawks are very good, really
good in every department, and then their defense is like
a little bit better than good.

Speaker 2 (01:19:08):
But this game, I'm.

Speaker 3 (01:19:10):
Trying to see who comes out on top, because the
Seahawks they I think they're second in sacks, and we
know Matthew Stafford is not the most mobile, Okay, Jackson
Smith and Jig but leads the league in receptions. He's
on target for something. He's a receiver in the league
this year, this year, this year, by far, by far.
And then we know that Sam Donald last year on

(01:19:31):
I would say a better Vikings team unraveled at the
end in important games.

Speaker 4 (01:19:38):
Yes, this is unimportant, yeah, for first place obviously in
the NFC.

Speaker 5 (01:19:42):
West and also maybe in the NFC in the NFC
as well as well.

Speaker 3 (01:19:46):
So I mean, I just is Sam Donald going to
be able to just hang on to what Sean McVay
is gonna throw at him?

Speaker 4 (01:19:56):
I Like I said, I just think right now, the
Seahawks have been this surprise in Mike's been a really
you know they you know the thing about the Seahawks
think about this. They got rid of Russell Wilson.

Speaker 5 (01:20:08):
At the right time, it seems.

Speaker 4 (01:20:10):
Then they lucked into Gino Smith, and then they lucked
and they got rid of the Gino Smith at the
right time. And now you can say they sort of
lucked into Sam Darnold that he is actually as good
as he saw a year ago with the Vikings.

Speaker 5 (01:20:22):
So I look, the Rams are at home. They went
at the home. However, the Seahawks are four to oh
on the road this year.

Speaker 2 (01:20:31):
I don't know. I wonder if this will be in
one of our picks next. Oh, what's up everybody?

Speaker 3 (01:20:37):
Our number three with Hartman and Bolanos here, that's right,
Steve Hartman filling in for Martin and Weiss. I am
Anti Bolanos, thanks for hanging out with us. Steve, you
were justin press with arch Manning I did.

Speaker 4 (01:20:48):
He just threw a touchdown pass, and I'll tell you
what was impressive about what was it?

Speaker 11 (01:20:52):
So?

Speaker 4 (01:20:53):
Right now Texas now is within four down fourteen on
the road against Georgia. But it was a long pass,
but it was one of those where he took a
moment and looked at his options, and he checked down,
checked down, and then found the right receiver crossing to
the back of the end zone through an absolutely perfect

(01:21:15):
pass and stride. So that was impressive because again, he's
been a little hesitant at times to really throw it
into traffic, which, by the way, when you get to
the NFL level, it's.

Speaker 5 (01:21:25):
Always in traffick.

Speaker 4 (01:21:27):
You've got to trust your receivers get the ball somewhere
near them that they can actually make a play. So, yeah,
that looked like an NFL pass.

Speaker 3 (01:21:35):
There have been moments where Manning looks good, but the moments.

Speaker 2 (01:21:40):
Are so small and far away from each other.

Speaker 4 (01:21:45):
Well, it just again, I don't know if it's putting
pressure on yourself to live up to the hype.

Speaker 5 (01:21:49):
I mean, this is a young guy, right. I always always.

Speaker 4 (01:21:52):
Think about that when you talk about these young quarterbacks
and they're vying for you know, Heisman Trophy or All
American honors, whatever, and there's so many pressure. There's so
few games relative, so I think arch Manny was deer
in the headlights, especially going against well the number one
team of the country of Io State, Texas.

Speaker 5 (01:22:11):
I know was number one going into that game.

Speaker 4 (01:22:12):
But it has proven Ohio State as that team. And
then after that and all of a sudden you start
having doubts about your ability. And so what's happening over
the last couple of weeks is he seems to have
gotten his stride back, and that was certainly one of
those pass that we say, Okay, yeah, that's NFL good.

Speaker 3 (01:22:31):
He's playing like he knows the playoffs are on the line.

Speaker 5 (01:22:34):
Yeah, well, it's an absolute must, absolutely, Mike to not
get a third loss. Texas will not get into the
playoff with three losses.

Speaker 3 (01:22:42):
We'll see again. Georgia is on fourteen to ten less
five minutes to.

Speaker 2 (01:22:45):
Go in the third quarter, and we'll keep you updated
on this game.

Speaker 3 (01:22:48):
But let's turn it over to our producer, Shay Mogan Guard,
who will.

Speaker 2 (01:22:52):
Get us going with our NFL picks for this week.

Speaker 7 (01:22:55):
Let's get right into this.

Speaker 5 (01:22:57):
Wow, look at Shay's taking over.

Speaker 7 (01:23:00):
You miss me, Steve, I do Jay, you missed me?
I know you do. End Zen radio.

Speaker 9 (01:23:04):
Though, let's go. Let's get right into it. So we
got Chiefs versus Broncos. Kansas City Chiefs are coming in
at minus four into the game.

Speaker 2 (01:23:12):
Minus four. I thought it was three and a half. Okay,
it was.

Speaker 9 (01:23:14):
It started minus three and a half. It changes after
a while, but yeah, so it's minus four right now,
and that's where we're going to be locking in with
Steve Well.

Speaker 5 (01:23:23):
I the Broncos are ugly. The Broncos are ugly, really ugly,
and all the money is pouring in on the Chiefs
in this game. Look at I again, home dog. When
you're eight and two on a winning streak. Yeah, give
me the points. I'll take the Broncos.

Speaker 2 (01:23:40):
Really, here's the thing.

Speaker 3 (01:23:42):
Like the Broncos you just said, they have not looked great,
and Bonnicks looks good in short passes, but when you get.

Speaker 2 (01:23:49):
To like mid passes and long passes, he doesn't look as.

Speaker 3 (01:23:52):
Good as he He's just chucking the ball down, He's right,
and probably guy can.

Speaker 5 (01:23:56):
Sistently overthrow the ball. That means he's just chucking he is.

Speaker 2 (01:23:59):
Yes, you're probably right about that.

Speaker 3 (01:24:01):
Chiefs coming off of buye with Andy Reid are always
are really good, and so I just don't know how
bo Nicks is going to survive against Steve Spagnolo.

Speaker 2 (01:24:10):
Really, bo Nicks is not. I don't trust anything that
that guy is doing this year. Give me the Chiefs
all right against the spread here, I look at the.

Speaker 4 (01:24:20):
Chiefs have to win if they have any designs on
continuing their streak. What is it, eh, straight AFC West titles.

Speaker 2 (01:24:26):
They need.

Speaker 5 (01:24:26):
They lose this game, it is over in terms of
winning the division.

Speaker 2 (01:24:30):
No Chiefs are gonna they got it.

Speaker 3 (01:24:31):
They gotta win with with authority.

Speaker 9 (01:24:35):
Go for a sha next game, Ravens versus my Browns.
Ravens are coming in a seven and a half favorites,
Fazi take it away.

Speaker 3 (01:24:48):
I don't like this game at all. Listen, your Browns
are no bueno. They're not gonna win. It's just how
bad are they gonna lose? That's the question. But it's
also a division game where the Browns have beat the
Ravens in the past. They do make it hard for
Lamar Jackson and Baltimore.

Speaker 7 (01:25:06):
We do beat the good teams.

Speaker 2 (01:25:07):
You beat the.

Speaker 3 (01:25:08):
Good, you make it hard for good teams because your
defense is solid.

Speaker 2 (01:25:11):
Seven and a half.

Speaker 3 (01:25:12):
Yeah, I'm gonna take the Browns to cover.

Speaker 2 (01:25:17):
I can see the Ravens winning. I'm gonna take that.

Speaker 3 (01:25:19):
I think the Ravens go win by a touchdown. But
you know, I see the Browns cover.

Speaker 2 (01:25:23):
Why not?

Speaker 5 (01:25:24):
Okay, the Ravens defense is not good. It's not Lamar.

Speaker 4 (01:25:28):
It's better Lamar Jackson's numbers, guys, he has a passer
radium one hundred and twenty seven he has fifteen touchdowns
on one pick. I mean he's picked up right where
he left off before he got hurt. Seven and a
half is a sucker line. I'm telling it is. Because
you see seven and a half, you're like, well, if
they only lose by seven, I win. Nope, I'm telling
you guys, the Ravens. It's a double digit victory for

(01:25:52):
the Ravens. They just have way too much firepower and
the Browns can't score. They can't Gibrael is just not
going to get it done. They don't seem to be
concern about changing their quarterback. So no, I'll take the
Ravens to cover the seven and a half.

Speaker 9 (01:26:06):
Thank you for bringing me back to life after Bonci
gave me some hope there by the.

Speaker 4 (01:26:10):
Way, Ucla, by the way, is on the comeback trail,
and they just scored thirty four to seven. Now, Ohio
stated the comeback smelling comeback.

Speaker 2 (01:26:20):
Should didn't mean to give you hope. You keep not winning.

Speaker 9 (01:26:23):
You did a really good job though you're good at
your job. Thanks, I have to give that to you.
So next game, we got the Seahawks versus the Rams.
You guys have talked about it a little bit let's
give you some color on the betting field. The spread
is opening up at minus three and a half for
the Rams. Steve, I love the Rams. I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (01:26:43):
I mean, like I said, the Rams are the best
team right now this week, Week eleven in the NFL,
the Rams are the best team currently in the NFL.
They will take care of business. They will cover the
spread at least a touchdown win for the Rams at
home against the Seahawks.

Speaker 3 (01:26:57):
I kind of agree with you a little bit, like,
I don't why am I going to bet against the
Rams right now? There's and it's more of like Sam Darnold,
I need you to prove to me that you can
win in a game like this. Stafford since Week four
has thrown twenty touchdown passes without an interception since week.

Speaker 5 (01:27:15):
One, Like I said, Adams, like they were trying to
kick earlier. Six touchdowns in the last three games.

Speaker 2 (01:27:22):
Yeah, they've both won four in a row. They have
the same record.

Speaker 3 (01:27:27):
They're both top five in scoring offense and in scoring defense.

Speaker 2 (01:27:30):
They're both top ten in red zone defense.

Speaker 5 (01:27:32):
I know, look what happened to UCLA.

Speaker 4 (01:27:34):
They scored a touchdown, just gave up a kickoff return
for a Touchdow.

Speaker 2 (01:27:37):
Well, then that means they get to go back on offense.

Speaker 10 (01:27:39):
Give me wow, I wish you could see see right
now we got to cover all right, rams to cover,
so both of you guys will be taking the rams.

Speaker 2 (01:27:53):
Yeah, we're taking off.

Speaker 7 (01:27:54):
Next game, we got a big one.

Speaker 5 (01:27:55):
Buccaneersaid bills.

Speaker 9 (01:27:59):
Yeah, minus six for the Bills that opened that.

Speaker 7 (01:28:06):
Changing a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:28:07):
Okay, start with this one.

Speaker 3 (01:28:10):
Listen, this one is uh, it's hard because the Bills
just had an embarrassing loss. So I feel like they
have to win. They have to come out. But the
Buccaneers are also not going to just go away easily,
even though without Bucky Irving, Like, I just don't I
don't know what Tampa Bay can do right now.

Speaker 2 (01:28:32):
But five and a half seems.

Speaker 3 (01:28:35):
So it's six seven, so they have to. I'm gonna
say the Bills come out and win in a dominant fashion.

Speaker 2 (01:28:49):
To make to make it more interesting in the NFL,
because I think some people are like, oh, give me
the Bills to cover, give me the bills to cover.

Speaker 5 (01:28:56):
At home, that's interesting MANSI.

Speaker 2 (01:28:59):
I yes, I'm not confident in my decisions.

Speaker 5 (01:29:02):
Well again, what do we know about the NFL? What
what happened one week has no bearing on But again,
the Bucks are coming off a loss, you know, a
tough one at home at home.

Speaker 4 (01:29:14):
Against the Patriots, and so I would say, you're.

Speaker 2 (01:29:19):
Going to Buffalo where it's cold. You're used to warm weather.

Speaker 5 (01:29:21):
I understand that. But Baker Mayfield played you know, sure,
you know, you know he can play in cold weather.
I'm going to take it. I'm going to take the
Bucks to stay close in this game.

Speaker 4 (01:29:34):
You know, the Bills have had a couple of games
where teams didn't I mean the Saints covered the spread, yes,
at Buffalo.

Speaker 5 (01:29:40):
No Saints exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:29:42):
Because the Saints.

Speaker 5 (01:29:43):
Could cover the spread at Buffalo, the Bucks can't.

Speaker 2 (01:29:45):
I'm ting but Billsy to get it into gear.

Speaker 5 (01:29:48):
They do, by the way, they.

Speaker 4 (01:29:50):
Might pick to win the Super Bowl preseason, which of
course is the kiss of death.

Speaker 9 (01:29:54):
So this is the game where Baker Mayfield will show
the MVP.

Speaker 2 (01:29:58):
Is here right, all right?

Speaker 9 (01:30:00):
Liones at Eagles the last game of the night on Sunday.
It's at five to twenty pm Pacific Standard time. The
Eagles are coming in at minus two and a half favorites.
Steve finish this one off for us.

Speaker 4 (01:30:13):
This is a very interesting game, and we were talking
obviously about the whole AJ Brown situation that just is
lingering week after week after week. That's also a that's
a weird line because you say, wait a second, Eagles
only two and a half at home, they win by
a field goal. I come away a winner. I'm taking
the Lions on the road. Yeah, I'm going to say

(01:30:37):
the Lions cover that if not.

Speaker 3 (01:30:38):
Straight up, listen, Lions, along with the Chiefs and the Seahawks,
are ranked top ten in both offense and defense. The
offense for the Lions, I really don't know what the
Eagles are going to do, and the Eagles beating the
Packers last week with just ten points on the board
was not impressive at all. I am taking the Lions. Wow,

(01:31:00):
Why I'm taking the Lions.

Speaker 2 (01:31:02):
I'm with you, Steve. I'm taking the Lions to cover
on the road, all right.

Speaker 3 (01:31:07):
Even though this I read on the Athletic if Philly
wins this, their chance of securing the number one seed
in the NFC.

Speaker 2 (01:31:16):
If they win this game, just by numbers, it goes
up to fifty.

Speaker 4 (01:31:19):
Well again, the NFC East right is a lot easier
than the NFC West right.

Speaker 5 (01:31:25):
Now, see, even if the Rams win, they still have
a lot of tough games. By the way, I love
how you skipped that.

Speaker 4 (01:31:30):
Are they actually going to play that Monday night game
with the Cowboys at the game?

Speaker 8 (01:31:36):
Wow?

Speaker 11 (01:31:37):
Bad?

Speaker 7 (01:31:38):
A lot of Browns Raiders this week.

Speaker 4 (01:31:40):
Will Yeah, you gotta have some serious money on that
game if you're going to watch that.

Speaker 5 (01:31:45):
Oh yeah, big time time.

Speaker 7 (01:31:47):
Are you kidding me? Monday night football?

Speaker 2 (01:31:49):
Baby, let's go. Let's go.

Speaker 9 (01:31:50):
All right, guys, we're done with those, but we still
got our Atomic dogs to go. Manzi, who killed it
with that? Oh my god, Ricky did a great job
with that. Yes, I was I didn't even know we
had any color or sounders or anything like that.

Speaker 7 (01:32:07):
My goodness, that was.

Speaker 5 (01:32:10):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:32:10):
No, it's great. It is great.

Speaker 7 (01:32:13):
Atomic Dogs.

Speaker 2 (01:32:14):
You've heard.

Speaker 9 (01:32:16):
Monzi and Steve give us their dogs of the week
who they think will win and they shouldn't win, Manzi,
let's start with yours.

Speaker 3 (01:32:24):
You know, there's a few that kind of like stand
out to me. Like, for example, call me crazy, but
I think the Panthers can upset the Falcons because the
Falcons have been so inconsistent, I don't trust them.

Speaker 2 (01:32:34):
But that's not gonna be my pick. That's not gonna
be my pick. I'm just telling you, I Bears.

Speaker 3 (01:32:39):
I also like the Bears upsetting the Vikings. I'm not
gonna lie, but that's not gonna be my pick. My
pick is going to be the Lions beating the Eagles
in Philadelphia.

Speaker 2 (01:32:49):
They're not just gonna cover, They're gonna win. Detroit is
gonna win this.

Speaker 5 (01:32:52):
Game, my dog, and I have no doubt this is
a winner.

Speaker 2 (01:32:58):
Write it down, Write it down.

Speaker 4 (01:33:01):
The Denver Broncos will beat the Chiefs at home, four
point dogs. That's that's outrageous that an eight and two
team that's five and zero at home is a dog
against a five and four team that currently is not
even in the playoffs. Denver will Bury Kansas City, Bye
Bye Chiefs. No AFC West title for you this year.

(01:33:24):
I said it all season long on End Zone Radio.
Patrick Mahomes has played in his final Super Bowl. He
will never play in another Super Bowl ever.

Speaker 3 (01:33:36):
You are like, I don't know what to say this
because the Broncos just beat the Raiders by three, Texans
by three.

Speaker 5 (01:33:46):
Again. There's a repeat there. They beat they beat, they
beat the two. Forget it doesn't matter.

Speaker 2 (01:33:54):
Ugly, yeah, very ugly.

Speaker 5 (01:33:56):
Deep their defense is good. No, I'm just trying to
help you out.

Speaker 4 (01:34:00):
And Bonis every time he needs to actually make a
play that could decide a game, he seems to go
that Giants game.

Speaker 5 (01:34:08):
What that comeback was unreal?

Speaker 7 (01:34:10):
I don't know.

Speaker 9 (01:34:11):
The Broncos would like the fat, shakey take home when
the lights come on at the bar and you're like
you don't have a girl anymore, and you're like, all right,
let's go Like that's what I see. That's the Broncos,
you know what I mean. And it's like, there's no
other way to put it.

Speaker 4 (01:34:23):
You guys are going to be sitting here saying I
can't believe Harburn was right for once. No, the Broncos
would win this game, straight up win.

Speaker 2 (01:34:33):
I don't either.

Speaker 5 (01:34:34):
I don't boom.

Speaker 2 (01:34:36):
I mean, I'm not again.

Speaker 4 (01:34:39):
By the way, this UCLA game right on the points
forty one seven. The spread was what thirty four? It's
right on the number.

Speaker 7 (01:34:48):
Still we have the whole fourty Yeah you got fourteen
minutes ago though.

Speaker 5 (01:34:51):
Yeah, they keep showing on the sidelines, cool glass and
money's coming in.

Speaker 2 (01:34:56):
Yeah, it's coming in. All right, do we wrap that up?
We're wrapped it up. That's the atomic picks. We're gonna ask.

Speaker 3 (01:35:03):
Martin Weiss his too, so we can have a update
next to week.

Speaker 2 (01:35:08):
You know below the UCLA, Ohio STATEA.

Speaker 5 (01:35:10):
My pigs are good. He can take him.

Speaker 2 (01:35:11):
No, that's not fair either. He can take him now,
but he has to say it ahead of time. You
get what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (01:35:15):
If not, he get if he doesn't agree, he's got
to say it ahead of time. We've also got the
NBA going on, and we're gonna dive a little bit
into that because I think everybody was expecting the younger crowd,
the younger stars in the NBA to take over, and
we are seeing Victor Winn Banyama get out there and dominate.
He just dunked on Draymond Green last night. That was awesome. Okay,

(01:35:36):
see out there delivering. But Steve, the unks are not
going anywhere.

Speaker 8 (01:35:42):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:35:42):
We're gonna dive into that next. I'll go anywhere. He's
Steve Harman.

Speaker 3 (01:35:45):
I am Anti Bolanos and this is Fox Sports Radio,
Fox Football Saturday.

Speaker 2 (01:35:51):
I am Anti Bolanos. He is a Heisman voter.

Speaker 5 (01:35:54):
Steve Hartman, Do I have a Heisman vote? Yes?

Speaker 8 (01:35:58):
I do.

Speaker 3 (01:35:58):
Yes, you knew in case you didn't know breaking news.
He is in for Marin Wise. Don't worry marn Wise,
so we'll be back. He wants to be starting something.

(01:36:38):

Speaker 2 (01:36:41):
He's just very excited because it looks like UCLA is
gonna cover well.

Speaker 8 (01:36:44):
I love it.

Speaker 5 (01:36:45):
I love what a team.

Speaker 4 (01:36:46):
You're down forty one to seven with eight minutes to
go in the game and you kick a field goal, right,
so you're like, why are you kicking a field to
make it forty one ten spread on this game?

Speaker 5 (01:36:58):
Thirty three time?

Speaker 7 (01:37:00):
I checked?

Speaker 4 (01:37:00):
That's right, So instead of being down by thirty four,
now you're down by thirty one.

Speaker 5 (01:37:06):
It's not by accident.

Speaker 2 (01:37:07):
No, I would handle it the same way.

Speaker 3 (01:37:08):
In fact, Steve Disager can give us the updated score
on that and everything else happening in the world of sports.
From Steve Harmon to Steve Disager, I am inside of
a Steve sandwich.

Speaker 6 (01:37:19):
We do have a lot of college I'm just moving on.
We do have a lot of college football to get to,
including the late Old Miss lead and laid Georgia lead.
But can I mention a stat that I just came
across with the Lakers leading big at Milwaukee late that
Luka Doncich apparently has more forty point games already this
season than the Dallas Mavericks have victories.

Speaker 7 (01:37:38):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (01:37:39):
Nice, and he missed three games.

Speaker 2 (01:37:42):
Oh goodness.

Speaker 6 (01:37:43):
Lakers have one ten to ninety three at Milwaukee under
two minutes to go. Doncis with forty one points, almost
half of that from the foul line. And there's women's
hoops on Fox TV, a top ten matchup downtown La.
South Carolina leads USC mid third quarter forty seven thirty six. Earlier,
in men's cow hoops in Boston, number three Connecticut beat
number seven, ranked BYU eighty six eighty four out of

(01:38:06):
the college football it's under two minutes to go. At
number seven Ole Miss Rebels have just scored again, two
touchdowns in the fourth quarter, and they're leading thirty four
to twenty four against Florida again under two minutes left.
This would drop the Gators to three and seven this season,
about eleven minutes to go. At number five Georgia Bulldogs
leading tenth ranked Texas twenty one to ten. Number one

(01:38:29):
Ohio State over UCLA forty one to ten with under
nine minutes to go. Ucla out of nowhere is over
one hundred and fifty yards pass They were under fifty
yards passing.

Speaker 5 (01:38:40):
Sugar nut. Sugar nut.

Speaker 6 (01:38:42):
Who needs that Nico guy bring in this? What's his
name again? What's number thirteen? Utah leading at Baylor forty
nine to twenty eight with four minutes left.

Speaker 5 (01:38:52):
The fact that I don't know his name speaks volumes.

Speaker 6 (01:38:55):
And we won't see him again. I assume as long
as the starter comes out of procol. I mean, we've
got the sc game left, and for most teams it's
really only two games left in the season. It's Luke
Duncan for the BRUINSI for the record, to TCU at
number twelve BYU just underway and already at early field
goal for the BYU. Cougar's up three to nothing wins

(01:39:17):
in the top ten for Indiana, Texas Tech, and Notre
Dame number three Texas A and m is still undefeated.
It did trail at home to South Carolina thirty to
three at halftime, and then engineered their largest comeback in
school history thirty one thirty Aggie's the final Oklahoma wins
at Alabama each team eight and two. Sooners were up

(01:39:37):
ten to nothing in the first quarter and beat Bama
twenty three to twenty one. Alabama with three turnovers, Miami
and Virginia with wins Tennessee as well. Sixteenth ranked Georgia
Tech is nine to one after escaping at Boston College
thirty six thirty four on a short field goal in
the final seconds. At saugi USC, the Trojans were trailing
Iowa twenty one seven late in the first half, but

(01:40:00):
beat Iowa twenty six twenty one. Michigan eight and two
after a win against Northwestern at Wrigley Field twenty four
to twenty two on a field goal as times expired.
Michigan wins despite five turnovers, two miss field goals, and
not a single sack from the defense. Navy at home
beating number twenty four South Florida forty one to thirty eight,
Arizona a winner at number twenty five Cincinnati thirty to

(01:40:23):
twenty four on FS one, Washington forty two to thirteen
leaders against Purdue with two minutes to go two minutes left.
Florida State is leading at home thirty four to fourteen
against Virginia Tech. Florida State at the moment one in
five in the ACC. Bill Belichick's North Carolina tar Heels
two and four in conference. They lost twenty eight to

(01:40:43):
twelve at Wake Forest. One of these non conference wins
they had early was against Charlotte. Charlotte is one and
nine after losing at home to UT San Antonio, Oregon
State two and nine after losing at Tulsa, and good
news for North Texas which got a win and Tulane,
which you gotta win. Not only did Memphis lose again,
but there was that South Florida loss, and they had

(01:41:05):
lost also at Memphis recently. It's a chance that the
last college football playoff spot goes to, for example, the
Mean Green of North Texas, who are now nine and
one back to you.

Speaker 2 (01:41:17):
Thank you so much, Steve Disager.

Speaker 3 (01:41:19):
I am Anti Blanas and he is Steve Hartman and
I we're going to dive into a little more.

Speaker 2 (01:41:23):
College football here with JD. Pikel JD.

Speaker 11 (01:41:26):
Are you there, I'm here?

Speaker 2 (01:41:28):
Yeah, all right, thank.

Speaker 3 (01:41:30):
You for hanging out with us again every single Saturday.

Speaker 2 (01:41:34):
We appreciate you. But let's dive right into it. Let's
starve right into it.

Speaker 3 (01:41:40):
Oklahoma, their defense takes down Alabama really at the end,
getting that crucial stop and they win it. How big
is this for Oklahoma? And really what does this mean
for the Crimson Tide?

Speaker 11 (01:41:55):
It's absolutely huge. Oklahoma. You're staring down the barrel more
games that are not nearly as difficult as the one
you just won with the game against Missouri, in a
game against LSU, and Missouri is gonna be out there
with the likely I shouldn't say likely, but it looks
right now like it'll be a threshing quarterback. And then
Elis You's got an interim head coach and like a

(01:42:17):
question mark quarterback too. So for Oklahoma you're like, okay, now, hey, boys,
just walk this tight rope. The last two steps and
we're in the dance attending two is how it would
feel should this result hold with the Texas and Georgia.
For Alabama, that IRONBLL is gonna have a little bit
more juice than it already had before. And I'll say
that because if Alabama loses one more game, they're out

(01:42:40):
of the College football playoff. And can you imagine just
the pandom moments if we're sitting here going into this season,
Alabama has got one lost and they finished losing two
of the last three and missed the dance for the
second year in a row. People would the other happened.
So to put it simply, it's massive for both sides.

Speaker 4 (01:43:01):
The thing about Alabama is this they still control their
own destiny in terms of getting to the SEC Championship game.

Speaker 2 (01:43:08):
Hold on, I think we're gonna call JD back.

Speaker 5 (01:43:10):
I heard that interesting, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:43:12):
Because it sounds a little bit JAD. If you're there,
give us a second. We're going to call you back
just so we can hear you a little bit better.
We hear you, but we just want to hear you
a little bit better.

Speaker 5 (01:43:22):
Yes, we have problems with that. It's amazing. In twenty
twenty five that we have any of those kind of problems.

Speaker 2 (01:43:27):
I know, Well, it's probably a little bit of the
weather out here.

Speaker 3 (01:43:29):
Maybe, you know, we do have a little bit of
weather going on in southern California.

Speaker 4 (01:43:33):
All right, Well, JD, I just to follow up with
Moncie was asking about Alabama. You say a third loss
ends their season, But I'm I'm just curious because Alabama
still controls their own destiny in terms of getting to
the SEC Championship game. And let's say they have a
matchup against sexist A and M and they lose twenty
one to twenty. Okay, I get like it's an insanely

(01:43:54):
competitive SEC Championship.

Speaker 5 (01:43:56):
Game that they lose by a point.

Speaker 4 (01:43:59):
Is there's still a chance that a three loss Alabama
team could sneak into the playoffs?

Speaker 11 (01:44:05):
I think absolutely, so long as what you just said,
the qualifier is that third loss comes in the SEC
title game. I personally have a hard time seeing a
three loss Alabama with losses to Oklahoma and Auburn down
the stretch, finding their way into the SEC Title Game
to begin with. But as long as they show up
to that game in Atlanta where they play, and I

(01:44:27):
mean they get the doors blown off quite frankly by
A in M, and I think as long as it's
still an Alabama team that showed up played, whether it's
A and M, whether it's Georgia, however the math works
out here. Moving to the final two weeks of the season,
I still think Alabama would have a hard time getting
left out. Given where they're ranked this weekend and how

(01:44:47):
far they're going to drop. I have a hard time
seem them dropping outside that top ten.

Speaker 3 (01:44:51):
Before we fully move on away from Alabama with Heisman
talk here, do you think ty Simpson just kind of
dropped out of the highs men talk and Fernando Mendoza
kind of is leading the way?

Speaker 11 (01:45:06):
I think Banana Mendoza is absolutely leading the way. I
think ty Simpson I have a hard time writing him
off just yet because of what we just mentioned. There's
so much there're still for Alabama to play for. Like
if they go win these next couple of games and
they go beat A and M. Let's say it's an
unbeaten A and M, and they play in Atlanta and
ty Simpson goes gangbusters and throws for over three hundred
yards and four touchdowns. Heids in such a funny award

(01:45:28):
because it's such a vibes award, it's such a what
have you done for me lately? Award? And I think
voters getting to see Ty Simpson carving up an unbeaten
A and M as the last data point, I think
that would be pretty difficult to refute now Forana Mendoza
could absolutely still do that in his own right and
be the guy. But I'm not writing out Ty Simpson
just yet with a couple.

Speaker 4 (01:45:49):
Of weeks left in November, well as someone that actually
has a Heisman vote, I look at it. I look
at Ohio State Indiana. Everything's going to be on the line.
And assuming they've went out and they're both undefeated, one
two the country Heisman number one seed in the playoffs,
I think everything's going to be on writing. With saying
completing eighty percent of his passes, he is a little
bit harder to ignore. I want to get to South

(01:46:11):
Florida losing today. Okay, so explain this to me, JD.
We got to have this group of five team into
the playoff, but what if there's no group of five
team actually ranked in the playoff top twenty five?

Speaker 5 (01:46:29):
How would that be decided?

Speaker 11 (01:46:31):
On?

Speaker 4 (01:46:31):
Which team would be representedive or can do they have
to be ranked in the top twenty five to actually
get into the playoff.

Speaker 11 (01:46:41):
Yes, it's a good question, Glad you asked. So in
these very first rankings, there was no Memphis or USF
or JMU in the top twenty five, and so the
way the committee went about that, they're still ranking these
teams past twenty five, and so they say, okay, your
quote unquote not ranked our top twenty five, but who's

(01:47:01):
the highest ranked or highest viewed G five team at
this point in time. So I think a lot of
that's going to work itself out to where we will
get a team that's ranked in the top twenty five
from one of these G five championships. But I'll have
to say, just because they're not top twenty five doesn't
mean they won't still have a spot in this college
football playoff if they're the highest ranked G five champion,

(01:47:23):
even if that ranking is below twenty five.

Speaker 3 (01:47:26):
We saw major comeback today Texas A and M, which
was supposed to be South Carolina the whole time, but
they looked like they were hungover in the first half
and then came out, put it together and win it
thirty one.

Speaker 2 (01:47:38):
To thirty.

Speaker 3 (01:47:39):
Is there any knock on Texas A and M for
how they won this game?

Speaker 11 (01:47:44):
Yeah, I mean I think I'm glad you brought this up.
I have two different thoughts on this. One is if
you do that against a more well runned team, you're
going to get beat. And it's not good to see
that in the month of November, where let's face the
AM's most important game they're about to be played here
with the game against Texas, in the game in Atlanta,
probably against in Alabama. So I don't love that. And

(01:48:05):
I think the fact that you're capable of a look
like that, like Ohio State gets knocked for not playing
anybody quote unquote, but I'm like Ohio State looks how
they're supposed to look with they don't play anybody like
South Carolina is not a very good team, and AM,
like you said, should have taken the doors off of
them from the jump. So that's the first part I
feel about this. I don't like seeing it. It's a

(01:48:26):
bad vibe. You can't excuse it. At the exact same time,
A and M is one of those teams to where
when they find their flow state, you know what I'm saying,
When they're seeing it when they're in the zone, when
it's all clicking. I don't know if there's a team
not named Ohio State that's beating them. So while you
knock them for the first half, there's a part of that.
Watching that second half, I'm like, God, le though, when

(01:48:48):
it's when it's pretty, it's really pretty for A and M.
So if they had lost, maybe we view that in
a different context. But the fact they got it done
and the fact it turned on the second half to
it had done hard not to be a little bit
impressed by optically, JD.

Speaker 4 (01:49:03):
Are you a believer in USC usc one today that
came back from a halftime deficit.

Speaker 5 (01:49:09):
In the rain here in La to beat Iowa. Now
they had the Eugene to take on Oregon.

Speaker 4 (01:49:14):
Obviously USC wins that game, they find themselves very much
in the playoff picture. A loss would eliminate them from
any playoff consideration. I ask you this because I have
insisted almost from the get go that Lincoln Riley is
one of the greatest frauds in the history of college
football in terms of being a elite, elite coach. I mean,

(01:49:36):
to me, he's like a poor man's Cliff Kingsbury better
seated to be a quarterback coach than actually a head coach.
He seems that he loses every close game that he's
involved with. But what are your thoughts on USC this year,
because obviously it has been a vast improvement over we
saw the last couple of years.

Speaker 11 (01:49:53):
That's tough Flenn, right there, Steve. I mean, I'd love
to dive into that as to why you feel that
way about a one, mister Riley. I would say for me,
this year for USC was always about twenty twenty six,
which for the folks in LA listening to this are like,
that is a loser toime. Get it that way, get
that we're USC, Get that away from us. What I
mean by that is we all saw what happened last

(01:50:14):
year at USC, and we saw the deficiencies. We saw
the defense look better, but we saw there was still
issues in a lot of scrimmage. This year to me
was a just show me the arrow is pointing up Lincoln.
Just show me that this thing is going somewhere. Get
us to nine wins, keep that top ranked class intact
on the recruiting trail, and then twenty six we'll see
what's going on. So as far as I'm started, it's

(01:50:35):
house money for USC. I don't think there'll be a
playoff team, but I mean, hey, when they go play
Oregon in the Eugene, if they find a way to
look a little bit frisky, it's a weird year. I mean,
I didn't think Alabama would lose to Oklahoma either, so
we'll see what happens.

Speaker 3 (01:50:50):
I mean, last one here, Jad, thanks for joining us again.
But Texas looks like they're about to lose to Georgia.

Speaker 2 (01:50:57):
There is no viable way that they.

Speaker 3 (01:50:59):
Can still get it to the College Football Playoff with
three losses, is there?

Speaker 11 (01:51:04):
You know, it's such a funny thing right now to
speak in absolutes in college football, because I wouldn't so
like Befourth that I would have said absolutely. But now
we're looking at the chaos that could 'sue. Michigan didn't
look all that unbeatable today. I'll say this, I would
be wildly shocked if we saw a nine to three
team get into the College football Playoff. However, I could

(01:51:26):
see a world where we get a lot of chaos,
and if A and M beats Tech, if Texas beats Texas,
A and M, the last game of the regular season,
and that's the last data point committee has to go
off of. And A and M's unbeaten. It's a pretty
good data point. So I'll say probably not but probably
the funny word right now.

Speaker 3 (01:51:44):
Y'all, we get that JD. Mquel are on three College
Football Insider. Make sure you check us stuff out on
the hard account because he will cover all things college football.

Speaker 2 (01:51:56):
Thank you, JD. We appreciate you.

Speaker 5 (01:51:57):
We'll talk to you next week.

Speaker 11 (01:51:59):
Appreciate y'all. See best luck on the Heisman Boe Brothers
where that goes.

Speaker 5 (01:52:04):
Yeah, it's a tough vote this year.

Speaker 4 (01:52:06):
By the way, of the last two years, I did
not vote for the person that actually won the award,
so I packed gent last year and the year before
I picked Pennix.

Speaker 11 (01:52:16):
Let's go. I love it.

Speaker 3 (01:52:17):
Thanks, get y'all, Bye, Thanks Jady Uh. This can get
really messy in college football.

Speaker 5 (01:52:24):
Yeah, Texas is getting work now.

Speaker 2 (01:52:26):
They are now no way.

Speaker 5 (01:52:27):
A three loss Texas team after this loss is going
to be anywhere near the playoff.

Speaker 2 (01:52:31):
But it's crazy that it's not definitive.

Speaker 5 (01:52:33):
But the I re loss Alabama team.

Speaker 4 (01:52:35):
If that third loss is the SEC championship game, I
think one hundred percent because it's Alabama.

Speaker 5 (01:52:41):
We get into the.

Speaker 2 (01:52:42):
Playoff, We get into the playoff.

Speaker 3 (01:52:43):
Well, Steve Hartman and I are going to get into
the NBA. I know I teased it earlier today, but
we're going to get into it because the on star
delivery and it's not just the Youngins.

Speaker 2 (01:52:52):
So we'll get into that next. Don't go anywhere. I'm moncy,
he's Steve. This is Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Saturday.

Speaker 3 (01:53:00):
If you've been hanging out with us for all three hours,
we appreciate you.

Speaker 4 (01:53:04):
Hold on a second here, I'm watching the UCLA Ohio
State game. Ucla had ten seconds left to try to
score to cover the spread forty eight ten Ohio State. Instead,
their last play was a run up the middle to
run out the clock.

Speaker 3 (01:53:21):
That is mister Steve Hartman, who was just upset that
Ucla did not cover. So like New Zeale was never
gonna win, guys, No, he's just upset that they didn't cover.

Speaker 5 (01:53:29):
They had a chance, they had a chance.

Speaker 2 (01:53:31):
What was what was the number?

Speaker 4 (01:53:33):
The number was like thirty three, thirty four and they
were down thirty one. Then Ohio State said no, and
we're gonna go right down and score, which they did.
Ucla had a little time left on the clock and
they literally might as well just taken a knee.

Speaker 5 (01:53:46):
Embarrassing.

Speaker 2 (01:53:47):
I mean, it was always going to be embarrassing.

Speaker 5 (01:53:49):
It was.

Speaker 2 (01:53:49):
It was always going to be here, just upset the time.

Speaker 4 (01:53:51):
However, Indiana did beat UCLA worse they did then Ohio States.
Instead of fifty six to six, it was forty eight
to ten.

Speaker 3 (01:53:59):
Ohio's state has not dominated the way we've seen Indiana
dominate throughout the year.

Speaker 4 (01:54:04):
No, but again, they haven't had a game like Indiana
had against Penn State.

Speaker 5 (01:54:07):
No, that took a miracle to win that game.

Speaker 2 (01:54:10):
Absolutely, absolutely.

Speaker 3 (01:54:12):
As we wrap up the show, thanks to our crew
Mary Mack on the ones and twos keeping it real.
Thanks girl, Shaye Mogan guard who is here villain for
Ian Roddy who was at the USC game. Good thing
they won, Yeah, right because it was raining.

Speaker 4 (01:54:26):
I was like, you're so, did you actually see him shirtless?

Speaker 7 (01:54:31):
I don't think he's No, he might have I don't know.
You about have got some drinks in him. He's with
some friends homecoming at US. You never.

Speaker 5 (01:54:41):
Are you saying that Ian is a guy that parties hardy.

Speaker 7 (01:54:46):
I think I think is a fun guy.

Speaker 3 (01:54:48):
A fun guy, I will take that away from him.

Speaker 7 (01:54:51):
I think he could.

Speaker 9 (01:54:52):
He could show up to the occasion, and I think
this was an occasion to party hardy.

Speaker 2 (01:54:55):
He means a fun guy and not not like Kawhi.

Speaker 3 (01:54:58):
Leonard and Steve the Sayer over at the news desk
keeping us updated.

Speaker 2 (01:55:01):
Thank you Steve again.

Speaker 3 (01:55:02):
I am inside of Steve Sandwiches where I'm at.

Speaker 2 (01:55:06):
But NBA, Steve, the season has started.

Speaker 3 (01:55:10):
I love the NBA, even though I know it's hard
to defend the product. I'm fully aware of that, But
I like basketball. I enjoy watching hoops and listening. Yesterday
the Clippers finally won a game in double overtime.

Speaker 5 (01:55:20):
Then I saw me right there.

Speaker 2 (01:55:22):
No, can I.

Speaker 3 (01:55:23):
Give some love to James Harden, who it has been
the only.

Speaker 5 (01:55:27):
First forty point triple double and Clippers his clipper.

Speaker 2 (01:55:31):
He played fifty one minutes a career.

Speaker 5 (01:55:34):
So I was rocking.

Speaker 4 (01:55:35):
Norman Pale put up thirty eight for Miami yesterday. Yeah,
and how's that Bradley real thing looking?

Speaker 2 (01:55:41):
He's out, thank goodness out.

Speaker 4 (01:55:43):
He was averaging a whopping eight points a game. That
was a disaster.

Speaker 2 (01:55:46):
It really was a disaster. So bye bye, thank you.

Speaker 4 (01:55:48):
For that, although his agent says he'll be fully healthy
next year.

Speaker 3 (01:55:51):
Sure, sure, sure, Steph Curry has been unbelievable, believable back
to back wins against the Spurs.

Speaker 5 (01:55:59):
This guy's he's thirty seven, plays like he's twenty two.

Speaker 3 (01:56:02):
Absolutely, and it's like we're seeing the young stars deliver,
like Victor wan Banyama looks incredible, Anthony Edwards looks great. Okay,
c looks phenomenal. But the unks are doing it. Russell Westbrook,
do you see what he just did?

Speaker 2 (01:56:16):
Do you see the rare air that he is in
right now? Absolute rare air.

Speaker 3 (01:56:20):
On Friday, he reached ten thousand career assists ten thousand,
just one of eight players to reach.

Speaker 2 (01:56:27):
Can you guess the eight players?

Speaker 5 (01:56:29):
I got most of them, I know stocked in, I
got magic. I go. Is Mark Jackson on that? Yes? Okay,
you got the guys there, Steve Nash, Yes, uh huh.
Let's see who else would be on that line.

Speaker 2 (01:56:44):
You're missing three.

Speaker 5 (01:56:45):
Listening three on that list. I know Oscar didn't get there.

Speaker 2 (01:56:51):
He's not there, so I know he was.

Speaker 4 (01:56:52):
He topped out at nine. Who there's obviously some obvious guys.
You are still playing, Harden obviously.

Speaker 3 (01:56:59):
Nor has not reached not reached ten thousand? Really, yes,
he's not reached ten thousands.

Speaker 5 (01:57:05):
James hard had already gotten there. Who am I missing?

Speaker 2 (01:57:07):
You are missing a current clipper?

Speaker 4 (01:57:09):
The current clipper who's been on the bench a lot.
I've forgot about c P three like you thought. You
just faded from my memory.

Speaker 2 (01:57:21):
The one is playing or coming back from Sciatica.

Speaker 5 (01:57:24):
Oh, Lebron has over ten thousand?

Speaker 2 (01:57:27):
And what is a current coach?

Speaker 5 (01:57:29):
A current coach? Let's see? Uh? Is he a suspended coach?

Speaker 6 (01:57:34):
Cholsey?

Speaker 5 (01:57:36):
No current coach? I don't know who is it?

Speaker 11 (01:57:39):
Is?

Speaker 7 (01:57:39):
It?

Speaker 2 (01:57:40):
Is it Jason kidding?

Speaker 11 (01:57:41):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (01:57:41):
Jason Jason. These are names that just sort of flopped
out of my head. Correct, all right, good stuff. That's
that's a pretty good list. Got the hardest guy another
hold on?

Speaker 3 (01:57:51):
Yes, yes, you did a great job on that. I'm
not gonna lie. But Russell Westbrook the air I'm talking about.
He is now, along with only Lebron James Games, they
are the only two players in NBA history to have
twenty five thousand points and ten thousand assists.

Speaker 4 (01:58:07):
Here's the crazy thing about Russell Westbrook. His freshman year
at UCLA, he was an afterthought. In fact, he was
the only reason that these UCLA even signed him was
Jordan Farmore had left Jordan Farmer after his sophomore year
and they were looking for someone that was an athlete,
someone that can maybe helping a defensive end. He had
a verbal to go to Pepperdine. No one had heard

(01:58:27):
of the guy. He's not even ranked the top one
hundred and fifty high schol players.

Speaker 5 (01:58:30):
Someone at I saw him and thought, he can't shoot
a lick, but he's an athlete.

Speaker 4 (01:58:35):
And I remember taking my boys to a game that year.
I think Garrett was my younges.

Speaker 5 (01:58:40):
Maybe eight years old, And so after the game we
were going to say how to Ben Hollan because I
knew Ben Hollan the coach of the team.

Speaker 4 (01:58:46):
And I'm sitting there with my eight year old I'm like,
who do you like on this UCLA team?

Speaker 5 (01:58:49):
He goes, I like number zero. I go number zero.
The hell's number zero? And I look around, I go Westbrook.
He didn't even play. Are you kidding me?

Speaker 4 (01:58:57):
This guy does not play. He will never do anything,
I promise you. And two years later he's the fourth
pick in the draft and the rest is history.

Speaker 2 (01:59:04):
Yeah, you really just kind of always.

Speaker 4 (01:59:07):
I'm always wrong wrong. I mean we did a show together.
What was our competition? I kept trying to change the rules,
actually made it worse.

Speaker 2 (01:59:17):
Yeah, by the end of it, I believe rushed you
the way Agent.

Speaker 4 (01:59:21):
I can either destroy or catapult a career with a
mere word.

Speaker 2 (01:59:26):
You know, it's just Russell Westbrook.

Speaker 3 (01:59:28):
I feel like is such a controversial player, right, like
people where it's like should he still be playing? Is
he does a team benefit having him on the team?
And I'm such a Westbrook fan And is a proof
that he's still delivering.

Speaker 5 (01:59:41):
Oh, he's still looking.

Speaker 4 (01:59:42):
He brings energies and always brought energy in every game
that he's ever played in the NBA. An all time great.
And now, as you said, he's in good company with
Lebron James.

Speaker 3 (01:59:53):
With Lebron James, way to go to all the unks,
Way to go to you filling them for Martin? Thank you, mind,
don't go anywhere because Aaron Torres and Jason Martin are
coming up next.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
