Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports. Yes, living the dream once
again on a fabulous NFL Sunday. This is Fox Sports
Red Zone Radio, Hartman and Orne Burger. We're about to
kick off seven games around the NFL. Let's give you
the list. Jets at the Browns, Commanders at the Lions,
(00:21):
Buccaneers at the Saints, Panthers at the Giants, Patriots at
the Steelers, Colts at the Jaguars, and the Dolphins at
the Ravens. And as we get ready to get ready
for our show today, Rich, your odyssey over the last
time I don't know forty eight hours is almost indescribable.
(00:42):
Understand this. Rich is part of the broadcast team for
San Diego State. They were in Utah late last night
getting drum by the way by the youths Big payback
Gay for Utah, And so he had a flyback late
from Utah with San Diego State to San Diego, get
I don't know an hour's sleep, and then drive up
(01:04):
here to Los Angeles to get ready for the show today.
And there was a lot beat on that. Okay, there
was a lot. It was on a backstory even before that.
So Rich, I'm happy here here will carry you. By
the way, we have pizza coming later on today. Well
that's all I need to look forward to. How about
that on the football, So I know Mancy wanted to
go with the vegan wings again. Well we'll keep that
(01:25):
rested for a week. Yeah, we got to keep an
eye on. But we're gonna get some really good pizza coming.
I'm in here today, but seven games today Week two.
Week two is always really interesting to me in the
NFL because you go into the season, you've got an
idea of what certain teams should do, and some teams
exceed expectations week one, others fall on their face, and
(01:46):
so Week two tends to be over reaction week like, wow,
they really sucked, man, and then all of a sudden,
Week two they look like the team they were supposed
to be, both good and bad. So I I always
and I you know, our buddy Jeff Schwartz, they did
the morning show and he always warnts the toughest gambling
week in the NFL is week two because everyone seems
(02:09):
to overreact, good or bad to what happened in Week one.
Oh yeah, yeah, and he's one correct. It is so different.
We have a touchdown already the Baltimore Ravens are on
the board? Was that the return? Did that go to
the house? On the return? Duverney is there and what
happened here? Let's watch kickoff return? He gets to five
(02:30):
yards deep in the end zone, follows blocking in between
the Hashes, breaks it out to the left sideline, never
the way up the alley, Duverney to the house. He
never got touched, never a single glove on him. So
just like that, the Ravens are on the board against
the They don't even have the game kicked off yet
(02:51):
on the website, so there it is. The Ravens taken
early seven nothing lead against the Miami Dolphin team that
again last week look to mite uh in their opening
domination of the Patriots, Like wow, they look great. Uh, well,
we'll see how this plays out. But just like that,
thirteen seconds into the game, the Ravens have a seven
(03:11):
nothing leads. So we got a couple of games we're
definitely focused in on this morning. Tampa Bay is on
the road against the Saints and Jamis Winston apparently has
multiple fractures in his back. I mean, some crazy injury report,
and yet he is going to be playing today as
the Saints quarterback. Uh. And of course we have that
(03:32):
Tom Brady controversy we're gonna get to and everything else.
And then also another game keeping an eye on today
is the Patriots and the Steelers. I love this game,
the Patriots and the Steelers. He got two Hall of
Fame coaches going head to head. Steelers stole a game
last week against the Bengals. I don't know how else
you can talk about. We watched that craziness last week,
(03:53):
missed extra point to win the game. It was just crazy.
But the Patriots really need this game rich because they
got a road game next week against Denver and then
you know, I mean you look at their schedule, they
could go on four. I mean if they don't really
sort of get their act together here quick, because offensively
they did not show up in that opener against the Dolphins.
(04:15):
And a quick three and out for the Steelers against
this Patriots defense on the road, So that's a good
start for New England. As the ball gets buried deep
into the Patriots end zone and that is going to
be a touchback. Oh my goodness, that was almost a
muffed punt that could have led to six points for Pittsburgh.
(04:35):
But yeah, it'll be Patriots football when the actions who's
there just want to correct here? So here's here's the
wing in scheduled. They lost at Miami, they're at Pittsburgh today,
they have a Ravens game at home, and then they're
at Green Bay. Yeah. Tough, tough slipt. I mean, can
you imagine if they were towing four? Well, and and
it's conceivable, now do I think they're gonna be on
(04:55):
far for No, Typically well coached teams don't go home
for to star the season. And uh, is it conceivable
though that they lose here on the road to the
Steelers and they put themselves behind the eight ball, especially
going to the teeth of this early schedule. Yeah, yeah,
that is conceivable. So this is uh, this is time
for mac Jones to grow up in a hurry. We
(05:16):
heard about the offensive issues this preseason. We saw some
of those miskewse against the Dolphins in Week one. They
need a hem, this thing tighter on the road in Pittsburgh. Alright,
so the Dolphins have the ball after giving up that
opening kickoff for a touchdown to the Ravens. What we
saw last week from Miami was what we thought or
at least they were advertising. Mike mcganne comes in. He's
(05:39):
a promising young head coach. But their offense looked completely
different with Tyreek Hill to a tongue of volo through
the ball. Well, uh, they're on the move right now,
and they seem to have a lot of more I
don't know, diversity in their in their offensive attack right now.
So we'll see if it carries over. But that again
could be a team where you might have a little
overreaction like, wow, Miami look really good last week. We'll
(06:02):
see how they do today. But now right now they're
down seven to nothing. Yeah, and that's a tough way
to start on the road. When the special team's unit
does something special, gets the crowd involved really early on
your defense comes on the field, it's got to be
definitely loud for two on this offense. As the Dolphins
get underway, all right, the Giants have had a field goal,
so they take an early three nothing lead against the Panthers.
(06:24):
What we saw last week from the Giants is when
you have a healthy se Kwon Barkley, they look like
an entirely different team. Table one for the two went
for the win last week. That was a huge confidence
builder for the Giants. But if you if you had
said before that game that Barkley would have twice as
many rushing yards as Derrick Henry, which is exactly what happened.
You're like, well, the Giants have a good chance. And
(06:44):
when yeah, yeah, you would say that, would you guess that? No?
But you know the way that se Kwon Barkley had
been talking this preseason. You know that he's out to
show the world how talented he is, that the rookie
year wasn't a fluke, that it's been injuries that have
really been holding him back. If he can stay healthy
and that offense stays as dynamic as they looked in
the opener, look out for the Giants. I'll say this,
(07:06):
though I hated the two point play, I love the
decision to go for it. I hated the two point play.
I mean, take Kwon Barkley was poorly ran, poorly executed,
But I didn't like to play period to play call.
He had to break two tackles in order to get
those two points. So, uh, you put the game on
the shoulders of your best players, and usually good things happen.
And that's what dabol did, and that builds a lot
(07:28):
of just confidence, just confidence around the coaching staff. When
you're coaching staff, trust your team, your team, trust in
your coaching staff more as those a huge statement win
for the New York Giants. All right, So we're mentioning
this Tampa Bay New Orleans game and Jamis Winston was
limited in practice. He has multiple back fractures, multiple back fractures.
(07:49):
He is playing right now and the Saints are on
the move on the opening drive of the game. In fact,
they're already burning over five minutes on this drive. Tampa
has to had the ball yet, and they are now
seventeen yard line of New Orleans right now, and so
far Jamis Winston is a perfect four for four. All right,
let's hear the first touchdown of the day, and we
(08:11):
are under way with a kickoff in week two, Devin
Duberne takes it at the gold line, brings it out
across the ten in between the hash marks. Twatty at
an alley ben for the outside thirty farside quarty outside
about was more cool. Two out of meat, piece of
adolphin party, County kem couch down Devinder go for have
(08:32):
this parce ninety eight rock Ravens Radio Network. That's a
good way to get the home crowd into the game,
right Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, early like touchdown. That makes
a challenge. But I'll tell you what. Miami right now
has the ball and they're moving and two and showing
great accuracy with its throws. You can just see, I
(08:54):
don't know, a different two of this year, a lot
more comfortable. He's got a certain purpose out there that
we didn't see often a year ago. That is a
great way to describe it. He looks purposeful with every
single throw that he makes, and they are dialing up
the throws he's comfortable making. You're seeing a lot of slants.
You're seeing a lot of crossing routes. You're seeing especially
(09:15):
throws near or between the hashes. Is exactly where to
a tongue of Valo wants to go with the football.
Can he get the football to the outside? Yeah? He can?
But are those his best throws? No? No, they're not so,
Mike McDaniel. He's doing exactly what they did with Jimmy Garoppolo.
They're keeping him more toward the middle of the field,
more toward the high percentage throws, and when this offense
(09:35):
can really kind of step on the neck of the
defense and complete those passes. Especially you're you're going to
see in Miami offense that can really move the football well,
and they're doing it early slant pass as a drive
starter to Jail and Waddle. You just saw the deep
crossing route to Giziki to get another first down. And
they're already in Baltimore Ravens territory. Alright, Saints drive stalls,
they settle for a field goal. So the Saints getting
(09:58):
early three nethinge laid against t but Tom Brady and
company will get the ball for the first time. All right,
We're just getting started. Seven games right now around the NFL.
Will have previews of the game's coming up later on
today in the NFL talk about that interesting matchup we
have between the Charters and the Chiefe back on Thursday.
Keep it right here. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio,
(10:28):
just same. Better go to Maco dot com for an

Way Tire Buying should be coming up later. Mark Sanchez
gonna be joining us Fox NFL analysts getting ready for
that Rams Falcons game came coming on a little later
on this afternoon. Updating scores right now. The Browns have
just scored a touchdown. The Browns already one to know
(11:11):
on the season. Remember they're sitting around waiting for the
return of Deshaun Watson. Jacobe Bursette opening drive five for
five thirty nine yards the hapless Jets, uh boys. Another
long season probably for the Jets. But right now seven
nothing Browns Lions are on the board first, three nothing
lead over the Commanders. You mentioned the Saints leading the Bucks.
(11:33):
Three nothing Giants over the Panthers. Three nothing Patriots on
the board first. They get an early three nothing lead
against the Steelers. Ravens have the seven nothing laid against
the Dolphins, Ravens getting the ball back after a tip
ball interception only score lest game. The two teams that
are matched up without a win this season, that would
be the Colts and the Jaguars. Yeah, how about that. Yeah,
(11:56):
It's it's been busy early on but still kind of
quiet as defenses early this season, in my opinion, have
been playing better sharper football than the offenses. Look, we're
in a league now where offenses can score bunches um,
but but defenses always seem to coalesce faster. It's just
it's just easier. It's more read and react. You have
(12:18):
less pieces that you have to worry about playing in
perfect concert and harmony, and so oftentimes that we see
pretty important third and one here early in the goings
for the Miami Dolphins defense and they get stiff against
this Ragevens rushing attack on their side of the field
and so nowhere. Yeah, jeez, wow, that was that was
(12:40):
stuffed in the backfield. That might have been a loss
of yardage there for Baltimore. Yeah, so the Ravens now
facing a fourth and one. Wet of interesting notes about
that Charger game that they ended up losing. That was
that was brutal loss, I mean, a very winnable game.
Those are the frustrating games that you look back saying, wow,
we should have won that game, no doubt. And you know,
(13:01):
a miscommunication with a receiver who, by the way, put
out no effort on a yard touchdown return to even
you know, I don't know, tackle the guy or slow
him up a little bit. A lot of controversy on
that play, and then you had the heroic efforts of
Justin Herbert with this Uh what a cartilage? What is
that fractured rib? Cartilage is what it's officially being reported.
(13:23):
He from Salim yesterday told me it says it's not
like a broken rib. You would know the difference, but
that's painful. And then he made one of the greatest
throws I've ever seen in my life. He threw a
laser beam that traveled what yards through the air, just
a perfect a window of about I don't know, two inches,
and you could tell he was grimacing through every single throw.
(13:45):
He was laboring out there to get the job done.
Uh and and was successful in his efforts, but the
Chargers overall were not, and they felt to the Chiefs
in just an absolute heavyweight slug match out of the
n f C West. Want to take away from that
game was that Randon Staleo got you know, some he
little controversy a year ago going for on fourth down.
As much as he did, he didn't do that this time.
(14:06):
He did not uh And part of it was, you know,
a better Chargers defense. All right, let's get that Brown score.
Motion by Tilton with Chup on the backfield for set turns,
gives to Chub, sweeping upside taste of the two, the
one touchdown the chop. What a drive by the Browns.
They took it ninety yards and they gave it to
(14:27):
Chub and he took him into a six nothing leading
Brown's radio network. So Brown's leading the Jets seven nothing.
What if the Browns go eleven or no with Jago
Bieber said, he's like league MVP. You bring into Shaun
Watson because well, you have to pay him a lot
of money, goes out, throws four interceptions in his first half,
they get blown out of the game. Well, look, Kevin
Stevenski is a smart guy and he understands. I think
(14:49):
at the end of the day, what he's going to
be adjudicated on is his wins and loss records. So
even though you do want to keep the future of
your franchise very happy, uh, you're gonna probably want to
keep them on the bench if you are rocking and
rolling at the tune of eleven and oh is that likely? No? No,
it's not. It's maybe if they play the Jets every
week they have Yeah, yeah, look the Browns. The Browns
(15:12):
have a really great team, They have a really great roster.
The Browns had a big problem at quarterback last year.
Baker Mayfield, who is playing injured virtually the entire year,
and they had other key injuries. It wasn't just Baker's
injuries that were the issue. Um, but if they stay healthy,
this is one of the better teams on paper in
the a f C North and that's a tough division.
(15:32):
So if they stay healthy and they play the way
that they've shown, they can play out the gates this season.
This could be a special team, by the way, looking
to improve to two and oh for the first time
since Bill Belichick was the head coach back then. By
the way, New England we were talking a little bit
earlier after a really bad performance against Miami. They got
dominated in that game. In fact, they only got the
(15:53):
ball in the red zone once in the entire game
did score there. Look like a different team early so
far on the road against Pittsburgh. Total yards in this game,
New England has seventy six to just twenty four for Pittsburgh.
Mac Jones five or seven fifty three yards um and
and this gets back to, you know, the whole offense.
(16:14):
They basically taken Josh McDaniel's offense, and they have refined
it a little bit this year. Of course, Matt Patricia
is now calling plays a longtime defensive coach. It's a process.
But again, when you got Bill Belichick, you get a sense.
I mean, I can only imagine what it was like
getting ready for week two. You know, let's go back
to the drawing board, what worked, what didn't work? A
(16:36):
lot didn't work, and let's let's make some changes. You've
obviously been in those meeting rooms your three years with
the Patriots organization, so I imagine that would have been
an interesting prep week for week two after what happened
Week one. What's so fascinating about New England? And this
is very different from everywhere else I played. There was
zero carry over from week to week, the same way
there's zero carry over from say, the twenty one season
(16:58):
to the twenty two season. He he approaches game weeks
very similarly. You watch the film, you learn what you can,
you self scout, you improve yourself by watching the film,
and then as soon as Tuesday comes. It's as if
that game you just played didn't happen, win or loss,
and you're onto your next opponent and you're breaking them
down in earnest and you're looking at their weaknesses, you're
(17:18):
looking at their strengths, you're talking about what you can
do to beat your next opponent. And it's in a vacuum.
You are just completely there is no concept of what's
happening on the outside. There's no concept of what's happened
to you earlier in the year. You're just focused on
the moment. And that's the reason why the Patriots are
such a dangerous team week by week, because if you
(17:39):
have a bunch of guys who believe the only thing
that matters is right now, you have a team that
can't be really defeated by one bad loss, you know,
because they can turn the page really quickly. And that's
hallmark of Bill Belichick teams that game plan offense, that
game plan defense that you see week after week. Giants
have added a field goals six I think Giants over Carolina.
Baker Mayfield is doing nothing. He has two for three
(18:02):
for two yards passing, so the Panthers often struggling. Meanwhile,
the Ravens are knocking on the door to build on
that early seven nothing lead. Lamar Jackson, show me the money.
I mean, you know, we were talking about this yesterday.
Rich We're you know, we're saying, if you're Lamar Jackson, fine,
franchise tag me. I want to wait to see what
kind of numbers are on the contracts of a Justin
(18:25):
Herbert or a Joe Burrow. Right, I'm not going to
use the Deshaun Watson contract to find my new deal.
I'm gonna wait for those two guys because they are
going to raise that bar to the next level. And
if you're Lamar Jackson and say, yeah, I'm okay, I'll
take forty million or whether I get in a franchise
tag next year, but I want my long term deal
(18:45):
to exceed or be the equal of the next big thing,
which is going to be the contracts of Herbert and Burrow.
Have they done what the Arizona Cardinals did essentially, which
is looked at the comparable and then gave him a
dollar more. That's what they Coller's contract. They looked at
Deshaun Watson and said, Okay, that feels like the same wheelhouse. Right,
So we'll give you basically, you know, a hundred thousand
(19:08):
dollars more annually than Deshaun Watson's earning on your contract. Deal. Okay,
good deal, and Murray gets paid. Well, Deshaun Watson looks
at himself as the best quarterback in the NFL. Excuse me,
Lamar Jackson looks at himself as the best quarterback in
the NFL. So he said, well, who's the highest paid
annual quarterback. Well, that's Aaron Rodgers at fifty million dollars years.
So that's what I'm looking for, Ravens. I'm looking for
(19:28):
fifty million dollars plus the sweetener. Can we do business?
And they said no? And so he's playing without a
contract right now. I'm playing really well. All right, Jacksonville's
in the end zone. Shotgun formation dropping is Trevor looking
fires be little field caught by Christian Kurt please turn
the ends touched down but ten yard touchdown path from
Trevor Lawrence to Kristen Kirk. Alright, So that is w
(19:52):
j x L A M ten ten and FM ninety
two point five Jaguars Radio Network. Trevor Lawrence is seven
for seven so far in this game against the Colts
five yards and that touchdown past the Christian Kirk. So
the Jags have an early seven ething lead over Indianapolis, who,
by the way, last week had a very disappointing tie.
(20:13):
Uh in a bizarre game. Did anyone ever really get
on Lovey Smith playing for the tie? No? I did,
but nobody else seemed to care. I was really disappointed
with Lovey Smith. I couldn't believe what we were watching,
what was happening. You knew my reaction fourth and two
short to at midfield in overtime and he punted. Could
not believe it. Could not believe it. I mean, honestly,
(20:34):
when you think about it, in the n f C South,
you're playing against the division rival, You're you're playing basically
with house money this year, that nobody's expecting the Texans
to do anything this year, and you're gonna punt it away.
It just it's the exact opposite of what the Giants did.
Dave Bill goes for two and they end up winning
an emotional game at the end of the game. But
(20:55):
either way, this locker room would have known, Okay, this
guy believes us. When you're love E Smith and you
pump the ballway in a tie game with thirty seconds
left on the clock on the fourth and very manageable
get for your offense. It says, I don't trust any
of you. I don't. I just I just don't trust
this team. I don't trust our defense. I I don't
want to lose this game. It's playing scared. Nobody wants
(21:18):
to play for a coach who play scared. And that's
exactly what happened in the opener, in the opener for
Love You Smith in the Texans. Alright, so early action
around the NFL. We're gonna get a preview of the
upcoming game between the Falcons and Rams. Mark Sanchez will
be joining us, but first let's find out what's trending
as we welcome on see another edition here of Fox
(21:39):
Sports Red Zone Radio. So what was Week one for
you last Sunday? I mean, uh, very stressful and fun
and stressful and fun back and forth. It was like
all these mixed fillings that went up and down, up
and down, up and down. It is there's no time
to breathe on this show. We had double overtimes last week.
(22:01):
It was absolute craziness. A little lighter schedule, we have
nine games last week. This time we have seven games.
So what's happening out there? Mons? Well, like you were
just saying, the ravenstret trying to increase their lead. They
just ended the first quarter, but they are third and goals,
so we'll see how they start the second quarter. They
are up seven zero on the Dolphins. The Patriots and
the Steelers still going at it. The Patriots are still
(22:23):
just up by a field goal two minutes ago in
the first quarter. The Buccaneers Saints also, Saints are just
a buy a field goal. This is about to end
the first quarter. Tom Brady, did you guys hear he's
gonna have Wednesday's off? Oh boy, yeah, I was reported
today the NFL network that he is going to have
Wednesday's off, a veteran day or something is they're calling it.
(22:45):
What's going on there, Rich, We'll get into that little
bit here, because Tuesday, of course this day off for
the players, but apparently gets so he's gonna be home,
he will be away from the facility, is correct. He's
going to receive a veteran rest day each Wednesday during
the season, so that means he has Tuesday and Wednesday.
All yep, Well, you know just i's gotta work. She's
(23:06):
gotta work. So that that's thing. She said, I need
to work. You promised me you would be retired. I
had planned to go back to work, and I'm going back.
Somebody's got to watch the kids. Thomas exactly Tuesday, exactly
what's happening exactly. The Browns up by eight touchdown on
the Jets. They are about to start the second quarter.
The Giants are up on the Panthers six zero, one
(23:29):
minute to go in the first quarter. The lines up
by a field goal on the Commander's Carson wentz. Come on,
I picked you up for my fantasy. He's not doing great, guys,
but it just got started. I had I had a
Dak Prescott, so I had to get another quarterback. That's
what happened to me. Jaguars are up by eight touchdown
on the cold seven zero, about to start the second quarter.
Back to you, guys, it looks like someone scored, because
(23:50):
I see Ryan, Ryan's cheering. Someone scored. Maybe the Ravens
have scored. Touchdown, Lamar Jackson, there we go. There he
is adding to uh the numbers on his contract in
the future. Thanks so much mine, see Welcome back to
the Fox Sports Red Zone Radio live from the tire
IRAQ dot Com studios. Now it's time for the NFL
(24:15):
Fox Focus. All right, Steve Irman, Rich hornburgerre here with
Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. Join us right now. Our
dear friend, Fox NFL analyst Mark Sanchez Marks working that
Falcons Rams game today, and Mark, let's get right to it.
I mean, the Rams looked awful in their opening game
against the Bills. Any need to concern themselves about that?
(24:37):
I know they're a double digit favor today against the Falcons,
but what went wrong for the Rams in Week one? Well,
good morning guys, Happy football Sunday. We're fired up to
be here in l A. But you nailed it. I mean,
they dropped a big one in their season opener at home,
the night they hang the banner for their previous accomplishments
(25:00):
US year, and just got embarrassed, right, got stunned thirty
one to ten by the Bills. But you gotta understand,
and I've said this all week. You know, Week one,
as we know, can be a dirty little liar like
your ex girlfriend, you know, And basically basically, I mean
look at the Bills last year, right, they got stunned
and shocked by the Steelers last year in Week one
and ended up being one of the best teams in
(25:21):
the Final four. Right, So it's you know, these kind
of things happen, and obviously the Rams their roster had
to spin out a little bit when you have that
kind of success and things just didn't go right. You know.
Stefon Digg went off, you know, and he was a
problem for Jalen Ramsey, Matt Stafford through UM three interceptions
and and they just looked off. They got down early,
(25:42):
and UM basically had to play catch up in that
second half, and the Bills blew the doors off it.
So most importantly for today, I think the Rams really
abandoned that run game last week, and they had to
because they were playing catch up. But they gotta get
Acres going, They gotta get Henderson going to do. What
you know, really gave Sean McVeigh a ton of publicity
(26:04):
in this league is that play action game. I mean,
he's so good at dialing up these these play action passes,
and they have to you have to get your run
game started for that to even work, or else you're
faking something for no reason. Right, You're wasting your time,
and it can't just be an all out drop back
game or Stafford has to throw at sixty times like
he used to do in Detroit. That that just doesn't
(26:25):
work for this team. And I think if they're gonna
they're gonna do it. They have a great opponent to
do it again too. You know, coming off a huge
loss last week and really giving out. They gave up
sixteen points on some crucial plays to a division rival.
You know, they could be just exhausted. Now they gotta
fly across the country and play the defending champs. I mean,
this is uh, this is an important game for both teams.
(26:46):
None of these guys want to be on too. Yeah, no,
definitely not. We know the statistics on that. You know, Mark,
I look at this Rams team and you mentioned it.
You can't throw the football sixty times and expect success.
And that really starts with the offensive line, where it
looked really desperate against the Bills, who only rushed three
and four rushers the entire game. They did not blitz once.
And it gets worse for this old line unit, who
(27:09):
has now suffered some injuries. Brian Allen is going to
be out of the game with a knee injury. That's
their center. So Shelton is sliding over in his place,
Anchorm is coming in who's barely played in the NFL.
You have a left tackle with yeah, yeah, and so
uh and you've got a left tackle who's banged up.
So so what what do they do? How do they
get around their obvious issues up front and then now
(27:30):
injuries on top of it. Well, I think, uh, you know,
the important thing is Shelton's played a little center before
he's done it last year. I think for a game
at least, any kind of experience like that is important.
And once again, we've got to keep in mind, you know,
the one week isn't going to tell the whole story, right,
It's not fair. There's sixteen more opportunities. And I'm not
apologizing for the ramp. They admitted it in our production meetings, like,
(27:54):
hey man, we blew a great opportunity there and we
just kind of came out flat and got done. But
the most important thing for these guys today is get
off to a fast start, get the get those guys
up front, the guys, that's what they want to do,
right the hog Molly's up front. What do they want
to do they want to go road grade some people,
they don't want to just be sitting on their heels
waiting for guys like Von Miller and uh, you know Phillips.
(28:14):
Last week, Phillips was a problem for the Bills, And
now they're facing another uh you know, three technique or
nose tack or whatever with our defensive tackle with Grady Jarrett.
I mean, that guy can wreck a game. So that's
gonna be important to get some double teams on there.
Make sure these uh, these half backs and stuff. In
the past game get a little we used to call it,
(28:35):
get a little rib meat on your way out to
your to your running back route, on the way out
of the backfield. Just get a little chip on the
end there. I know Michael Parsons didn't like it, but
that's just kind of way the games goes nowadays, especially
with the passing league the way it is. You've got
to slow down these pass rushers because those guys are
at a premium. But it's it all starts at the
run game up front, and let those guys get some confident,
(28:56):
move some defenders around and um and and clear the
way for these running backs. And Sean McVeigh challenged Acres
this week. You know, Acres was a little surprised about
the lack of touches last week. You know, he's got
to get involved, right, You're gonna get your touches, Now
do something for me, you know. So everybody's uh, everybody's
kind of on notice here in l a and they
know what's at stakes. I know Atlanta is excited about
(29:16):
the future of your fellow Trojan Drake London, of course,
and he may get matched up a few times with
Jalen Ramsey, who really got a lot of heat for
his subpar performance against the Bills. What have you seen
in Drake London got hurt obviously last year, still was
an All American even playing half a season. That's how
dominant he was. How he is going to fare in
the NFL career. And when you have your pride hurt
(29:39):
on national TV like a you know, a three time
All Pro like Jalen Ramsey, how does he bounce back
from that? Well, I think Jalen Ramsey's gonna be a
little salty, that's for sure. And rightly so, you know
the same thing, just like the rest of the team
that came out and Stefon Diggs had a big day,
stunned him a little bit. Well, now you gotta bounce back,
and that's what a three time All Pro should do.
For Drake London, Sky's the limit. That kid is just
(30:02):
an all out baller, and I think his basketball background
is what allows him, even with his big body, to
play in the slot. And that's what he did at
SC a little bit. And that's why he's not just
a straight line speed guy, right Like You've got some
of those guys that are his size and they can
only run go balls, deepen routes, post routes, you know,
very little stop and start type routes. But this guy
(30:23):
can run in the slot, run the option routes, have
have different ways to go on these on this route tree,
and he's really got every route in the tree, which
makes him special. Now he's just learning and that learning curve,
you know, he's trying to cut it down as fast
as he can and understand this game. But he is
set up so well with with Dave Drown, their offensive coordinator,
(30:45):
with Arthur Smith, They're gonna find ways to get this
kid the football and continue to give him confidence. But
he's gonna have his handsful today. It'll be a fun
matchup to watch now. I saw some mistakes like everybody
else with Marcus Mariot's play in the game against the Saints,
but there were a lot of positives. What do you
think of the way uh Marcus played in in his opener? Well,
I think, you know, when when you really look at
(31:07):
that game and break it down, the way they were
able to run the ball out of multiple personnels, big personnels,
different formations, pistol zone read, I mean, they were all
over the map with these runs. And now it starts
to look a little bit like San Francisco, like Baltimore,
a little bit like Oregon, like when he used to
run with the Ducks and stuff. It's different bird on
the helmet and different colors, but some of those plays
(31:28):
looked identical. And the idea is, with those kind of offenses,
you've got to get this defense on their heels. And
the Saints were on their heels for about three and
a half quarters until they mounted to come back. But
they were running them side to side and they were
just exhausting that front seven, and every once in a
while one of these runs would pop and Mariota just
kept him off balanced by you know, moving the pocket,
(31:50):
moving the launch point of the quarterbacks. So these defensive
linemen can't just pin their ears back and sprint to
about eight and a half nine yards deep in the
backfield and know exactly where the quarterback is gonna be.
That that makes it tough on those guys and it
just throws them off balance and wears them out. So
I love their attack. It's the biggest thing for Mariota.
He's just got to take care of that football exchange
(32:11):
from the center that he fumbled on a third and one,
and then you know the big emphasis when they got
down inside, you know they were going to be in
gold to go situation. He scrambled for like a third
and five, has the first down, dives for a couple
of extra yards, which was a little unnecessary, and that's
where he fumbled the ball and give up what would
have you know, potentially gone up another seven points. That
would have been huge, right, potentially the nail and the
(32:33):
coffin for the Saints last week. So those kind of
mistakes have to get cleaned up. But there Arthur Smith's
credit to those guys. They look a lot different. We
covered five of their games last year, so we were
basically like their home team, you know crew, their broadcasting crew,
and we saw a lot of Falcons football, so this
team looks a whole lot different than last year. I
(32:53):
know the narrative is, oh, well they blew the lead
and this is just like the three Super Bowl. Well
hold on now, it's just week one hanging there. I know,
I know they're getting a lot of points. So I
don't know how it's gonna work out in Vegas, but
people will figure that out. It always seems to get
figured out. But these guys are gonna be These guys
are gonna be tough. I don't think I think it'll
be closer than that. Two teams looking for their first
(33:14):
win of the season, Falcons at the Super Bowl Champion
Rams and this man is going to be in the
booth calling all the action for you, Mark Sanchez, Market
It's always great to catch up with you. Will talk
to you down the road. Awesome, Thank you guys so much.
We'll talk soon. All right, that's Mark Sanchez, their Fox
NFL analysts. All right, a lot of things happening right
now in the early games. We're gonna get you updated
(33:35):
on everything. On the other side. Keep it right here.
This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. All right, this
is Jay Glazer. And you may know me for the
world of football or fighting or even shows like HBO's Ballers.
Well you don't know is for my entire life. I
have lived in something I refer to as the gray
depression anxiety. So now I'm coming out with a new podcast, Unbreakable,
(33:57):
a mental health podcast with Jay Glazer, where each week
when we talk about mental health, I hope to describe it,
give it words. Listen to Unbreakable with Jay Glazer on
the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast or wherever you
get your podcasts. Oh, this is Fox Red Zone Radio,
(34:20):
and we've got the place that you may have missed.
There's the snap. He's back in his end zone to
grow which hick the balls lose out of the back
of the end zone. That is a safety. Charles Harris
got him. That's how you step up and make a play.
Right there, there's the snap to go off back in
the pocket, rolling light being Chase throws end zone suck
(34:43):
down the try lines. Wow, I'm in ross At Brown
had to go up to get it and he did it.
Now back live to the studios of Fox Sports Radio.
This is Fox Red Zone Radio. That was w x
(35:05):
y T FM nineties seven point one the Ticket Lions
Radio network. And how about the Lions right now. Yeah,
they're off to a twelve nothing lead over the Commanders.
Just kicking off that a second quarter. There once again,
welcome back to the Fox Sports Red Zone Radio live
from the tire Rack dot Com studios. We got some
(35:27):
Jets action going on. Paco takes the snap, loud passed
right for Wilson. He's got it to top right corner
of the end zone. The rookie gets on the board.
Karen Wilson with the Jets Town All right, that's Jets
Radio network. That tied the game against the Browns seven seven.
But the Browns have just scored again touchdown pass. So
(35:47):
the Browns have a fourteen seven lead. How about this.
Jacoby Brissette is ten of eleven right now. He's looking
awfully good. My favorite touchdown celebration in the NFL right now,
We just got to watch a Jalen Waddle caught a
six yard touchdown reception from two a tongue of voloa
as Miami Dolphins put together a really nice drive here
(36:10):
in the second quarter. Just an RPO fake to a
bubble screen to waddle on the sideline and you have
blockers in front of him, and he gets in and
he does his trademark wattle WA's this check this out.
We watch hi wiggle now stuff alright. By the way,
remember we had said that the Ravens had scored a touchdown.
That touchdown came off the board. So the Ravens and
(36:34):
Dolphins with the extra point and now tied seven seven,
So they looked like the Ravens are about to put
him away. Speaking of putting away, how about the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Trevor Lawrences ten of eleven. They just scored again. The
Jags are up on the Colts fourteen to nothing. Yeah,
first touchdown was a Christian Kirk reception from Trevor Lawrence,
(36:55):
just a ten yard strike there. And then a huge
run from James Robbins thirty yard yard rush for the score,
and that puts them up two touchdowns over the Indianapolis
Colts Division rival there. Uh for the Colts not off
to a good start, I mean a tie against the
Texans and now you're down to touchdowns early to the Jags.
You look at the schedule like, oh, perfect opening Texans Jags.
(37:19):
Nice easy opening for the Colts, but right now they're
in total disarray. Yeah. You look at their schedule early
on and you say, okay, this is this is a
Colts team that they're gonna run into a little trouble.
But if they're two and two when they get finished
with their first four games, that's good, right, because you
beat the Texans, you beat the Jags, then you're going
to host the Chiefs, You're gonna host the Titans. You
hope to win one of those, but you could lose
(37:41):
both of them. Two and two, three and one, Yeah, okay,
I would say, yeah, successful start for the Indianapolis Colts,
but you've put yourself now way behind the eight ball,
especially early in the first half of this one against
the Jacksonville Jaguars. So it's not getting any easier. And
it's weird, right because Frank Reich with Philip Rivers, with
all the quarterbacks that he's worked within their first year,
he's had some immediate success. He hasn't really clicked in
(38:04):
with Matt Ryan yet. Yeah. A lot of people were predicting,
including years too. It doesn't matter what I predict, it's
always wrong. And you know, I was like Matt Ryan
is your leading candidate for Comeback Player of the Year. Uh.
Speaking of comebacks, the Steelers have come back to tie
the game against New England. So after getting a field
goal in a nice third team play seventy one yard
drive with their opening drive with the Pats second possession,
(38:27):
Mac Jones throws an interception that led to the uh
time field goal for the Steelers. So Patriots and Steelers
are tied at three and three. I mean, well, not
much action in the Saints Buccaneers game. The State's got
an early field goal on their opening drive and that's
where we stand right now, Saints leading the Tampa Bay
Buccaneers three nothing. Brady's off to a good start. He's
(38:50):
eight of eleven a hundred yards. What do you make
of this story now that he's gonna have Tuesdays and
Wednesdays off apparently to babysit while his wife goes to work. Yeah, look,
good players get special treatment, and it happened throughout my
entire career. There are certain guys who have their own
private masseuses and they have car blanche to team travel,
and there are certain guys who have, you know, second
(39:11):
hotel rooms on the road. For family members. Well, doesn't
matter that you're starting quarterback is missing Wednesday practice every week.
That's when it gets a little strange when it starts
to affect official team activities, like him taking eleven day
restpite during training camp, you know, and I love the
people rushed to his defense like, well, he only really
missed like four practices. It's like, okay, name another storting
(39:31):
quarterback in the NFL who missed eleven days during training
camp or four practices for personal matters. It hasn't happened.
It hasn't happened. It's just an oddity. And so am
I saying it's not gonna work. No, I'm not saying
it's not gonna work. It's Tom Brady. The Buccaneers are
very talented roster and they've reloaded for this season. And
that was very clear week one. Do you need a
quarterback and Wednesday practice getting ready for a game. There
(39:54):
are plenty of points in seasons where key players are
off the field on Wednesday's getting rest, but usually they're
around the facility. The difference is going to be that
he's not going to be around the facility. Now do
I think he isn't gonna be working hard at home
to get ready for these games. Absolutely he will be so.
I don't think there's gonna be a drop off. But
this is one of the strangest pre seasons and seasons
(40:15):
we've ever seen from a starting quarterback in league history.
All right, lines have got another field goal. They are
just blowing out the Commanders early, will not quite blow up,
but they're commanding a fifteen to nothing lead. We got
a full full Sunday for you around the NFL. This
is the place to be. Keep it right here. This
is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. Fox Sports Radio has
(40:36):
the best sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch all
of our shows at Fox Sports Radio dot com and
within the I Heart Radio app search f s R
to listen live to the shotgun. Thanks to snap. They
throw a screen to the left side of the wall
that was Dolphins Radio Network. But guess what the Ravens
(40:58):
answered back to face the jet sweep hand up throws
across the middle. Want to kept take it? Has it
like fifty farsight forty piece to the forty to twenty
papen ten brush on Patel nine Rock Ravens Radio Network.
Ravens lead the Dolphins right now fourteen is seven seven

we are broadcasting live from the ti iraq dot Com

an unmatched selection fast free shipping. Free road has a

The way tire buying should be very busy day here
on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. Steve Hartman, Rich Armburger.
(41:42):
We're here all the way through all these early games today.
Seven games kicked off early. We got five more of
this afternoon, actually four in the atlet's see, we got
five afternoon games. And then of course we have the
Sunday night game. The Packers are going to be hosting
the Bears. Uh. And to Monday night games. Yeah, to
(42:02):
Monday night doublehead, Yeah, Titans, Bills and Vikings Eagles. We
got a lot of football ahead of us right now. Uh.
Surprises on the board. Ridge and I certainly look at
the Lions and the Jaguars. Uh. These are two teams
losing their opening games, two teams coming off miserable seasons,
and right now the Lions have a fifteen nothing league
(42:23):
with nineties seven ago in the first half against the Commanders,
and the Jags are up fourteen nothing over the Colts
a little over two minutes to go on the first half.
So two teams looking to, you know, shake off a
horrific one season, you know, trying to get things going
in the right direction. That's good so far. And you
look at the Lions last week, and this was the
(42:44):
story of their season as well. They went toe to
toe with a lot of teams, a lot of close
losses for the Lions a year ago. Uh, and they
found a way to do it again against the Eagles
last week. I was the thirty eight thirty five ball game.
Anybody could have won that football game last week. So
don't kid yourself. The lines are different team in some respects,
(43:04):
but they're the same old lines. And until they start
closing out some of these close games or blowing out
some of these opponents who they could potentially get an
advantage on early and so far in the early goings
against the Commanders, Jared goff In, this offense really rolling. Yeah,
they're rolling again. By the way, we're gonna added that
fifteen nothing. Look at some of the numbers, you're ready
for these numbers total yards, in this game, Detroit has
(43:28):
two hundred and twenty one. The Commanders have twenty seven.
Carson Wentz is three of six for twenty five yards.
He's already been sacked three times, so they have fourteen
net yards passing Washington and Antonio Gibson. He's the only
ball carrier they had. He has five carriers for thirteen yards,
so no offense for the Commanders and Jared Goff nine
(43:52):
hundred thirty four yards a touchdown. Mon Ross st. Brown
is really lightening it up. Five catches eighty two yards
and that score. DeAndre Swift had a fifty yard run.
So yeah, Detroit offensively doing a job. What do we
read on Carson Wentz so far? Well, so far he
looks a lot like Carson Wentz, you know. I mean,
when it's good, it's really good. When it's bad, it's
(44:13):
really bad. And those inconsistencies, what are what have haunted
him since he lost the job in Philadelphia. Uh, And
the injury had a lot to do with that, and
then it shook his confidence watching Nick Foles win a
championship for that team in that city, and he just
hasn't looked the same since. Really, the story of this game.
Those first downs. If you look at the Detroit Lions,
(44:33):
they have ten first downs through the first quarter and
a half of this ballgame. The commanders have zero. When
you can't get first downs, he can't play, and so
the offense is spending zero time on the field. That's
really stressing this commander's defense, which is a talented unit.
And so the Lions are making their way down toward
the end zone again inside the commander's five yard line,
(44:55):
knocking on the door. Yeah, looking to add to that
fifteen that thing labor inside seven minute mark in the
first half, Goff throws in the end zone, got both
feet down. Wow, they rulled touchdown. That'll be a touchdown
for sure. Josh Reynolds on the receiving end of that pass.
They're from Jared Goff. So just it was just a
(45:16):
beautiful play design. The Detroit Lions obviously having success running
the football. They show play action near the goal line
and it sucks up all the linebackers and Reynolds was
able to run just just a post route right behind
the defense and nobody was home. Let's see if he
gets both in man and toe drag, that is six
(45:37):
on the ground. Yeah. I believe. Yeah, well they rulled
it and so they reviewed it. So it is touchdown
witty on the extra point right now, and the Lions
are taking over big time, up twenty two to nothing
in that game against the Washington Commanders. All right, I'm
we'll get it. A couple of the games going on
right now, Rich, very busy start to our day. Uh.
(46:00):
We mentioned the fact that the Saints and Buccaneers not
a whole lot of action three nothing. I want to
get back to the Giants and the Panthers. The Panthers
obviously with Baker Mayfield right now, he's seven or thirteen
sixty two yards, no touchdowns, they haven't scored three field
goals in this game, Giants leading by a score of
six to three. But we mentioned the Giants getting that
(46:20):
dramatic victory last week Week one, Brian Dable going for
the two point conversion and the win. By the way,
today se Kwon Barkley had a hundred sixty four yards
rushing last week. How about five carries for three yards.
In fact, the Giants right now have zero yards rushing
as a team, zero with five minutes ago in the
first half. So that Giant offense that was looking so
(46:42):
dynamic a week ago. They only have fifty one total
yards in this game right now. How much of a
difference is Dable gonna make? I mean, is he a
miracle worker? Everyone obviously giving him all this uh accolades for,
you know, making Josh Allen into an m v P
contender in Buffalo. Can he have the same impact on
Daniel Jones? Does he have what it takes they have
(47:05):
impact as a head coach in the NFL? Yeah? I
think he Look I think from everything I've heard about
him and I've known people who have worked with him,
he's a really smart guy. He's a really energetic leader.
He gets a lot, he makes believers of everybody around him,
and I think this Giants team has a long way
to go. Was it an emotional and great start to
the season getting the victory the way they did last week? Yeah? Absolutely?
(47:28):
But is Daniel Jones a complete product in Week two
of this NFL season? The answer is absolutely not. You know,
as Sae Kwon Barkley back, well, I mean great outing
against Titans defense that you know, really they were stout
against the run it season ago. But but that's one
game you have to be able to replicate success. And
once you put that on film, teams are gonna go
(47:49):
ahead and start selling out to stop the run. And
they're gonna say, well, if you can't beat us passing
the football, you can't beat us. And that's been the
plan so far for the Carolina Panther. All right, I'm
watching Lamar Jackson. Okay, so far in this game. By
the way, Ravens leading the Dolphins fourteen seven. Ravens are
driving right now. A nice scramble by uh Lamar Jackson
(48:14):
is gonna stand because it was a defensive hold against Miami.
Right now, Rich, he's six and seven passing for a
hundred and twenty eight yards. That's eighteen point three yards
per tenth, one touchdown and no picks. And he's also
run I don't know how long that run was something
like that, so he's got like thirty nine thirty eight
yards on the ground. I mean, we talk about who
(48:38):
is the most dangerous offensive weapon in this league, and
when Lamar Jackson is playing at his peak, as we
saw in his m v p's season. Of course last
year he got hurt. But when he is playing at
his peak value, who's more dangerous than Lamar Jackson. It's
it's hard to quantify, and he just threw a strike
(48:58):
for a touchdown to market. Drew's his big tight end
right on cue. Yeah, and again I'm gonna get back
to this, because on fire right now, I mean just
absolutely on fire in this game against the Miami team
that looks so good a week ago, and he's lighting
him up. Yeah, look at this. This is just a
beautiful steam route by Andrews. He was able to keep
skinny between the linebacker and the safety health over the top.
(49:21):
Actually it was a safety covering him. You have to
cover him with the defensive back, that's how good he is.
But he's such a big man that he can muscle
up against those d backs. So really you have to
double him. But how do you double him when you
got Duvernet and all the speed that he has And
you just saw Rashad Bateman take what a ten yards
slant to the house. This this offense, especially with Lamar
(49:42):
Jackson and the praise and accolades you were just heaping
upon him, I think, incredibly explosive. Yet his knee was
down at the one yard line, so it looks like
the Ravens have a little bit more work to do
on this drive before they get six. But a great
pass by Lamar Jackson, who oddly enough is still under
did in this league as a passer. Well he is.
(50:02):
That's my whole point. And I mean this goes back
even to his college days. You know, Heisman Trophy winner
at Louisville. You know the year he wonted his softbore
year and then the next year is junior every by
the way, he finished third in the Heisman the following year.
He had better passing numbers his second the year after
he won the Heisman than the year he won the Heisman.
So with that completion right now, he's seven of eight
(50:23):
passing about a hundred and six t hards crazy five
carries thirty three yards. Lamar Jackson putting on a show
right now as the Ravens probably gonna get this touchdown
called back because the replay seemed the show andrews uh
knee went down before the ball across the goal line. Meanwhile,
no one can stop the Lions right now. Golf takes
(50:43):
the snap, turns fakes to Jamal Crows and Son. It
is tuck touch down the Tart Lions. Josh Reynolds again.
Oh Fatty went with the run fakes, he found Reynolds
and the Lions after that leave w x y T
FM ninety seven won the Ticket Lions Radio Network twenty
two to nothing. Lions are leading the Commanders right now. Meanwhile,
(51:07):
the Jags have added a field goal seventeen nothing rich
over the Colts inside two minutes. Uh. Trevor Lawrence is
fourteen of seventeen, a d thirty seven yards and a
touchdown in that game. All right, things are heating up
as we head towards the halftime. Shows here in these
early games around the NFL. For everything you need to know,
(51:27):
keep it right here. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
The Ohs are out there scratches, dense, unexpected natural events.
With Mako and their magic, your car is no longer tragic.
So when life throws you out, just say fat Mako
and go to mako dot com to book your appointment today. Oh,
(51:49):
this is Fox Red Zone Radio and we've got them
plays that you may admits. So on first and goal, Jackson,
play action lot back of the end to old touched
Mark Andrews got the stat after all. Now back live
to the studios of Fox Sports Radio. This is Fox
(52:11):
Red Zone Radio ninety a Rock Ravens Radio Network. Ravens
lead the Dolphins twenty one seven two and a half
minutes to go on the first top. By the way,
Lamar Jackson rich eight of nine four yards, two touchdowns,
snow picks. That is a perfect passer rating one fifty
(52:32):
eight point three. Doesn't get any higher than that. That
is a perfect passer rating so far. Lamar Jackson, by
the way, also has five carries thirty three yards. This
is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. We're live from the
tire rack dot com studios. So the Ravens looking very
very good. Let me just say the guy that's looking
good is Lamar Jackson. He is putting on a show today.
(52:53):
I don't know. Maybe he's your early favorite for m
v P. Meanwhile, other things going on right now. The
Jets tied up their game with the Browns at fourteen
and now the Jets have a third and goal at
the Browns ten yard lines. So the Browns are dominating
early in the game. Joe Flacco has thrown a couple
(53:13):
of touchdown passes. Joe Flacco. Wow. Um, so that game
is tied. We got eleven seconds to go in the
first half. And the Jets knocking on the door third
and goal, and what happened here? I guess they got
the touchdown, is what they did? Well? That tied the game,
all right, tall pass from Joe Flacco to tie the game.
(53:38):
So that tied the game at fourteen. So they're kicking
off right now, final seconds of the first half there. Meanwhile,
the Pats get on the board. Jones takes the staff
on the third down in three Gats is in the pocket,
throws a long ball right we some contact side, the
five head in for the score at galore touchdown. Patriots
(54:00):
the Sports Hub and the Patriots Radio network. So the
Patriots take a ten to three lead over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Mac Jones ten a seventeen hundred forty three yards touchdown
and a pick. Earlier in the game, it's Shubinsky eleven eighteen,
just ninety six yards and a pick. So this figured
to be a pretty low scoring game, and it's certainly
lived up to that height. Yeah, no question about it.
(54:22):
But how about the Patriots getting a little explosive with
Nelson Aghlor and it was an acrobatic catch made for Aglore.
They're on the sideline and Mac Jones airing it out,
doing most of the work with his arm there. So look, yeah,
not an offense. You're expecting explosive plays from the passing game.
If they do have explosive plays, you're expecting it to
(54:43):
be in the run game. But but away Ton cork
it there in the first half year as time is
ticking off, the clock almost at halftime in Pittsburgh. And
I'll tell you the game to watch though, if you
are interested in offense is this Miami Dolphins Baltimore Ravens game.
Because the Ravens they're just dominating right now offensively. But
(55:03):
the Miami Dolphins, I will say this about Mike McDaniel,
it is a creative offense. It is. Uh, it's still
on a learning curve, I think, not not every single
play you see. Everybody's on the same page just yet.
But it's exciting to see it take shape, especially with
the weapons they have around to a tongue of Voloa
there in South Beach. I mean, they have a real
(55:25):
tight end in Giziki. They've got a real threat of
receiver and hill. Uh. You already saw what Jaillen Waddle
can do in the first two games of this season.
I should say the first game. In the first half
of this game this season, it's fun to watch. And
they're facing a fourth and one against this Ravens defense
right now. This is quite a move from their own
forty five yard line. They're gonna go for It's two
(55:45):
minute warning time here, so two minutes to go on
the half. Dolphins are down by fourteen and at least
now they're going for it on fourth and one. It's
a full one from their own forty five yard line.
So we talked about analytics and going for it on
fourth down. You wonder if they're gonna try to do
a long snapcat to try to draw him off sides. Instead,
(56:07):
it's a snake by two a tongue of byla. Did
he get there? Boy? That was close. I remember he's
a he's a quarterback that's only six ft tall. Yeah.
I don't mean that he's short. I meant that. I
think well, I was thinking both ways. I mean, it's
not like justin Herbert. You got a six six quarterback
here doing the sneak and that was a full yard
(56:28):
he had to get. I think it's short, man. I
think the Baltimore Ravens defense held the offensive line just
did not get a lot of push up front. Yeah,
he doesn't move at that point. It depends again where
they mark the ball is. Helmet is not where the
ball is. He's trying to move forward. It's just just
a massive body's hard to really calculate exactly where he is.
(56:51):
By the way, meanwhile, halftime right now, Saints Lee the
Buccaneers three to nothing. All right, they're gonna measure that
looks like a pretty favorable mark. Looks I think they're
gonna get it. They they did. Wow, that's a first
down Miami. And so with one forty four left on
the clock, trailing fourteen on the road against Baltimore, they
(57:11):
extend this drive and nearing midfield here. This that is
a huge momentum shift in this game, because can you
imagine if the Ravens get the ball back with all
that time and score again. I mean, put this baby
to bed. But they've got an opportunity to return fire
here before the half. All right, Jets making a comeback
the Browns with two down linemen, they rushed three black
(57:33):
coat swings it right cut by Hall half he walks in.
That's a Jet touchdown. On other rookie scars here in
the first half. All right, so Jets and Brown's right there.
That was Jets Radio network tied at halftime. Now fourteen
all I want to get back to halftime with this
three to nothing Saints lead against the Bucks. I don't
know how many times Tom Brady has been shut out
(57:54):
in a half. I would guess not often. Not Offen
isn't anything terrible. He didn't lose a fumble. There really
isn't a whole lot going on on either side. But
I don't know. I I would love to be inside
the head of Tom Brady right now. I mean, something
is not normal for him. I mean he has an
act of normal. Uh. He's been trying to explain his
(58:15):
personal situation without getting any depth about his personal situation.
People say, is it fair to ask him? I'm like, yeah,
it's fair as long as he's gonna play football and
it has an effect on his game, of course, it's fair. Game. Well,
all right, Dolphins looking to throw deep and that just
thrown up for an interception. Oh wait, they're saying, no interception.
(58:36):
Did he bobble it looking for Jalen Waddle down the
left sideline to a tongue of lower He just heaved
this thing accepted he was way overthrown, and yeah, it
looked like Williams did he get his feet down. I
guess the left foot. The right foot is down. The
left foot now he dragged it. I think it's an interception.
I think it's an interception. Looked like he dragged that
(58:57):
left foot easily in Well, I will say that. I
will say this, if you're gonna take a first down
shot after successfully converting a fourth and one, it's basically
as if they punted on fourth down. But it was
I have full double coverage on the I understand, but
I'm saying. I'm saying, had they elected to punt, nobody
bats an eye. You go for the shot down field,
and the worst thing that happens did, which is an interception.
(59:20):
But now Ravens take over in their own territory around
the twenty yard line, it's basically punt. So I'm not
I'm not hugely against the decision by two or Mike
McDaniel to pump it down field, especially when you need
to score in a hurry here against the Ravens. Back
to what we were talking about though, with Tom Brady
and this situation. Yeah, of course, of course you're allowed
(59:41):
to ask him about what's going on in his personal
life because it's having an effect on his professional life. Look,
there's no fair dodging here. This is professional football. It's
written into our contracts as football players. I did it
for six years where you have to talk to the media,
and the media is gonna talk to you about your
job and if things are happening off the field that
are affecting your job, whether it's a death in the
(01:00:02):
family where you have to miss a game or miss
time at practice and you're there and you're available for
the game, what was that like? You know, of course,
the questions are gonna come, and that's part of the
fan experiences getting to know these players. And Tom Brady
classically has been very guarded with, you know, his personal life.
We haven't heard a lot about it. You know, he's
let us in a little bit more with the Facebook
(01:00:23):
series he did and you know some of the documentaries
that he's done along the way. But this is very different,
Like you pointed out, Steve, he he is having a
very different kind of preseason. Obviously retiring and unretiring and
then the time he took off during training camp. He's
having a very different regular season. We just heard the
report this morning that he's gonna take Wednesday's off. So
(01:00:44):
Tuesday's off for the normal team days that players have
off during the regular season, and then Wednesday's is typically
a work day. Well, Brady is not going to be
in the facility until Thursday. Uh So it is a
very very different season, and so a lot of questions
are gonna be asked about your personal life, especially when
it reaches into your professional life. And last week we're
very ordinary numbers for Brady. Again, Dallas was just completely
(01:01:07):
inapt and the Bucks won that game nineteen to three,
but he didn't do anything spectacular. Right now, again, Buckingers
shut out in the first half against the Saints. Saints
lead that game by a score of three to nothing.
All right, let's find out as we're getting a halftime
in all these early games, what's trending right now? And
Munsey is back, so we get a little breathe right
(01:01:28):
now with all these halftimes just slightly months, yeah, halftime
and today, like you said, it's been a little less
crazy than last week, for sure, a lot more manageable
on my end. Totally. Most of these games are at halftime,
except the Dolphins and the Ravens. The Ravens are killing it.
(01:01:48):
This is what Lamar Jackson is saying. Just like that.
He's screaming it as he's playing. Like you said, eight
of nine hundred and fifty four yards two touchdowns. The
Races are up twenty one to seven on the Dolphins
about ninety seconds to go in the first half. The
Jaguars are just killing the cold seventeen zero Trevor Lawrence
(01:02:10):
fourteen of seventeen a hundred and thirty seven yards a touchdown.
We also have the Patriots and the Steelers. Patriots are
up by a touchdown. They're up ten to three. We
have the Panthers and the Giants. They are tied six
a piece halftime. The Saints are still up by that
field goal on the Buccaneers, who have yet to score.
Tom Brady nine of thirteen a hundred and four yards.
(01:02:30):
We also have the lines that are also just handling
the Commanders twenty two to zero, and it's killing me,
Carson Wentz, You're killing me. Jets and Browns are also
tied fourteen piece halftime. Jacoby Pricette twelve of thirteen a
hundred and one yards and a touchdown story that I
found quite interesting in the NFL, Tarad Taylor is suing
(01:02:51):
the Chargers doctor David gazanigamn right because of malpractice. He's
saying that he punctured is long. He's suffered a punctured
long when he was admitted that's what happened, and of
course it had launched the career Justin Herbert where he
literally was thrown in the last second against the chase
(01:03:12):
and never looked back totally. And it's the same doctor
that's handling Justin Herbert's rib issue. Yeah, so he's suing
him for five million dollars, saying that because of him,
he became a backup quarterback. And that's kind of like
the difference in salary is minimum five million dollars when
you're starting quarterback to a backup quarterback. Uh. I find
(01:03:33):
it so interesting, same doctor dealing with another injured rib
issue with Herbert also chiefs what too many coincidences here?
Pretty crazy? Five million bucks, that's it? Yeah, I think
that's a low number. I think you'd go actually higher
than that. Yeah, I I think so as well. I
was surprised to see that it's only five million to
(01:03:53):
be honest, all right, Monsey, thank you very much. Once again,
we are Fox Sports Red Zone Radio live from the
High iraq dot Com studios. Ravens are not done yet.
Lamar Jackson just threw another long pass. So with forty
three seconds to go in the first half, Lamar Jackson
is nine of ten for a h eight yards two
(01:04:14):
touchdowns of note picks. That is still a perfect pass.
Already a one fifty eight point three at six carry's
thirty nine yards. Boy, you talk about a guy in
a mission. This This is the Lamar Jackson we saw
at the height of his m v P season where
there you're there are no answers for this guy, pick
your poison, and he throws the ball as accurately as
he throwing it right now. So they have a first
(01:04:36):
down at the Miami twenty two yard line, and they
just got another first down, uh, looking to add on
to their already twenty one to seven lead. But when
he is throwing like this, there is no defense. Yeah. Look,
I mean this offense is surrounded by four three forty runners.
We mentioned it earlier, Bateman and duvern At both four
three guys. Lamar Jackson's absolutely a four three guy. Mark
(01:04:59):
Andrews is a just a big bully in terms of
a tight end. They got enough in that backfield with
Davis and and Jackson and Drake. I mean, they are
just loaded for bear. I mean, how how do you
stop them? How do you stop Lamar Jackson and this
offense when um, when they're really rolling And the answer is,
(01:05:20):
I don't think there's a defense in the NFL that can.
And so you have to find a way to put
pressure on Lamar if you can, and you have to
keep them in the pocket if you can. You gotta
make it about throwing the football if you can, and
taking away the run completely if you can. But I've
said if you can many times during that little soliloquy there,
because it's really difficult to do. Remember they were talking about, well,
(01:05:42):
who you have to throw the ball to this year? Right? Gone? Yeah?
Rashad Bateman four carry, four catches hundred eight yards and
a touchdown likely also has two catches for thirty eight yards.
So they're getting the ball down the field and that
just completing passes and he throws well just escapability finally
to an incomplete path there. But his escapability is simply unmatched.
(01:06:03):
So the Ravens, at least so far today, are the
most impressive team we're seeing early, uh, in this Week
two of the NFL. Yeah, you know, and then you know,
you bring in a guy like Isaiah Likely who was
just a fourth rounder and and he hasn't gotten a
ton of run in this league yet, but he's a big,
tall target and they're giving him a bunch of run
(01:06:24):
here as the Ravens get close to the end zone,
because again, in the red zone, hype matters and if
you're able to toss it up. I look again, I
don't know what this season is going to look like
for the ANFC North, for for the Ravens, but I
know this, if they stayed healthy last year, it may
have been the Ravens in the super Bowl instead of Bengals.
I could. I could promise you would have looked very
differently if Lamar was healthy last year. Touched Ravens. Wow,
(01:06:49):
another strike, cheez oh man, And it's Robinson on the
middle of the end zone, throw in between two Miami
Dolphins receivers. How is that punt pass by two? Uh?
And it's like that have times running out Ravens go
right down the field. Again. I still don't hate to
play even though this has happened. You have to be
(01:07:10):
able to count on your defense with only a minute
fifteen a minute twenty left on the clock to get
a stop. The Ravens were facing an eight yard field
and they're just that efficient that they're able to six
plays eighty yards later score a touchdown in less than
a minute. All right, Lamar Jackson is now. But if
you have fantasy, Lamar Jackson eleven of thirteen, two hundred
(01:07:34):
ten yards, three touchdowns, note picks again, that is a
perfect passer rating of one fifty eight point three and
also six carries or thirty nine yards. So it doesn't
get any better than Lamar Jackson in his first half
twenty eight to seven. Now Ravens blowing out the Dolphins
twenty nine seconds ago. Uh in the first half, Wow,
(01:07:55):
what a performance by Lamar Jackson. And now sudden Ravens like, hey,
remember that offer that we pulled off the table? Can
we get that one back? And he's like laughing in
their face. So who's who's scored again? It was Duvernet
on the kickoff return, it was Bateman on the long pass,
it was Andrews. And now to Marcus Robinson. So the
(01:08:16):
four different guys you just think about also the versatility
of the offense in terms of weapons. I know Duverne
scored on special teams, but I mean they're spreading the
ball around. Uh, it's just unbelievable how they're able to
get the ball into the hands of playmakers. And it
starts with Lamar Jackson because he's such a threat running
the football that you have to respect him and and
(01:08:37):
play someone close to the line of the line of
scrimmage to spy him or try to contain him in
the pocket. And as a result, you're playing a lot
of man coverage and they can exploit those some of
those mismatches. Alright, one game, they'll just underway in the
third quarter where Jacksonville is stunning the Colts by a
score of seventeen nothing. You look at the numbers in
this game, rich unbelievable. Trevor Lawrence seventeen sixte arts, he
(01:09:00):
has a touchdown, that's a one seven team point three
passer rating. They also have fifty nine yards on the
ground Indianapolis, forget the Matt Ryan nine twelve eighty three
yards and a pick. How about Jonathan Taylor five carries
for four yards. Wow, Wow, Well that's very last. I
mean his longest run is two yards against Jacksonville. And
(01:09:21):
suddenly Jacksonville got a stonewall defense. We're gonna shut down
Indianapolis's running game. Jonathan Taylor, I mean, he's high and
everybody's fantasy football list had a huge first week figure
he's gonna have another big week against Jacksonville. Five carries,
four yards. Well, clearly what what Jacksonville did all week
long in preparation for this game? As they said, Look,
(01:09:42):
if we're gonna get beat, it's gonna because Matt Ryan
beats us, and and the skill position players beat us.
And Pittman, by the way, injured last week. So you know,
you have that situation going on for the Colts. You know,
Jonathan Taylor, if you're able to neutralize the rushing attack,
what's left for this Colts offense? And so far in
the early going, not much. Seventeen nothing at halftime in Jacksonville.
(01:10:03):
All right, so officially halftime Now the Ravens and the
Dolphins to seven. Ravens lamar jackson again. Eleven and thirteen,
two hundred, ten yards, three touchdowns, no picks of perfect
passer rating of one fifty eight point three. Let's hear
that last touchdown. Jackson empty backfield in the gun, takes
a snap looking over the middle, fires touchsdown by Marcos Robinsons.
(01:10:27):
The Ravens extend the lead with their fourth touchdown of
the opening half. Ninety eight Rock Ravens Radio Network. We
said that plenty in the first half. So Ravens commanding
seven lead by the way to attack by law seventy
yards a touchdown. Not bad, but two picks. Uh in
this game. Not much of a running game. Mostard has
six carriers or nineteen yards. So Miami is gonna have
(01:10:50):
to get back to the drawing board if they're gonna
come back. Uh in this game. Uh. The New England
Patriots with that ten to three halftime lead, rich over
the Steelers act Jones Tennis seventeen hundred forty three yards.
That's pretty good numbers right there. He had an early pick,
also had a touchdown pass. Interesting to see how this
second half plays out. You know, when the Steelers beat
(01:11:11):
the Bengals last week, he almost got a sense from
Mike Tomlin like, wow, we really stole that one. I
mean a miss extra point at the end of regulation
that would have wanted for the Bengals, a very makeable
field gold mcpheerson missed that and overtime and somehow the Steelers,
as they have done throughout his run, they find ways
(01:11:31):
to win games. So I know there's no panic here
at halftime for Pittsburgh. I guess one of the questions
in Pittsburgh is are they gonna stay with Robinsky if
they can't move the ball offensively? Will they go with
Kenny pick up the rookie? Will they give him an
opportunity when you pull the trigger on something like that. Well,
I'll say this first and foremost about the Patriots who
(01:11:52):
they're playing against. That's a talented defense and that's Bill
Belichick running that defense, and so you know they're going
to be wired tight, especially as to see season goes on,
especially Week two because he gets to the for for
the first time in real, live game action self scout
and say, okay, where are our limitations defensively? How do
we put ourselves in the best position to win? And oh,
(01:12:13):
by the way, you have tape on what Pittsburgh do
is doing this year, which they're doing different things this
year than they were doing last year. With Ben Roethlisberger.
It's very clear that this is gonna be a different
looking offense for the Steelers. So the the New England
Patriots are are formidable foes here on the home field
for Pittsburgh um offensively, though, if it doesn't click in
(01:12:36):
soon for Mitchell Trobiski, I mean in total, like where
you're you're seeing productive offensive series, you're seeing first downs,
generated you're seeing him command the field the way that
he did during the preseason, then you do know that
you can go to Picket and I would I would
try to stave that off as long as possible. That's
just my own personal subjective analysis. To give him more
(01:12:57):
time to understand the speed of the game at the
NFL level, give him more time to practice with with
his his players and build chemistry with this offense who
he's just met um. But but sooner or later it
will be Pickett's team, and if Rubinski plays poorly, it
will be sooner alright. The Saints and Buccaneers third quarter underway.
(01:13:18):
Tampa Bay had the ball first three nothing Saints in
this game, and after one first down they had a punt.
Tom Brady is eleven and eighteen hundred fifteen yards. He
had a fumble, no touchdowns, no picks. Uh. He threw
his helmet down in frustration after they were forced to
punt to start. So what's going on with Tampa Bay? Well,
(01:13:38):
right now, no offense is what's happening? All right? We
are just getting the second half's underway. Keep it right
here for all your information. This is Fox Sports Red
Zone Radio. This is Fox Red Zone Radio, and we
got the place that you may as Joy Smith and
(01:14:02):
Anderson formation left, d J. Moore of the right, the snap,
Baker faces it to, McCaffrey, rolls to his right, throws
head zort wide open, d J Boor who does a
little Summer Souf touchdown Carolina. Now back live to the
studios of Fox Sports Radio. This is Fox Red Zone Radio.
(01:14:28):
All right, that's seven the Fox Panthers radio network. They
leave the Giants right now. Thirteen is six, about three
minutes into the third quarter. Welcome back. This is Fox
Sports Red Zone Radio, live from the tire IRAQ dot
Com studios. I guess if you're a fantasy football player
(01:14:48):
and it comes to the Carolina Panthers, the guy you're
looking at his Christian McCaffrey and he's not doing much today.
Ritchie has nine carries for twenty eight yards to catches
for twelve yards um. And yet they're winning right now.
In fact, how about this, Baker Mayfield has more rushing
yards than McCaffrey. He has five carriers or thirty three yards.
(01:15:09):
His numbers are pretty good, eleven of eighteen hundred nine
yards a touchdown note picks. That's a passer rating over
one hundred. So mayfield numbers are good. But but where's McCaffrey. Yeah,
McCaffrey has been a no show so far this season
in terms of UH, in start of in terms of
yards gained. It's it's going to be um I think,
(01:15:30):
really honestly a slow start for McCaffrey because he just
has not played much football in the NFL so far,
I mean, and he hasn't been very healthy. So it's
gonna take a little while to get your legs underneath
you if you're Christian McCaffrey. And I think we're seeing
that live and living color on this Sunday afternoon. We
got to score on the board finally from the Washington Commanders,
where three minutes into the third quarter in the action
(01:15:54):
in Detroit where they lead now twenty two to seven.
It was Curtis Samuel caught a front of the ends
own uh touchdown pass from Carson Wentz and got absolutely
creamed catching the football. It's amazing he held onto it. So,
like I said, it's seven Lions still with a commanding lead,
all right, And I believe we just had a missed
(01:16:15):
field goal by the Patriots yikes, as a makeable field
goal miss. So the Patriots still lead the store Steelers
by a score of ten to three, nine minutes to
go in the third quarter in that game. So let's
get you updated on the score. So the Browns are
leading the Jets seventeen to four to go on the third,
Lions over the Commanders twenty two to seven. We're about
(01:16:37):
thirteen minutes left in the third quarter. There Buccaneers Saints,
I mean, who could have seen this coming? Three nothing Saints,
nine minutes to go in the third quarter, Panthers over
the Giants thirteen six, Pats over the Steelers ten to three,
Jack's Lee and the Colts seventeen nothing. And it's still
at the half, and the Ravens blowing out the Dolphins
by a score of twenty eight to seven. Let's hear
(01:16:59):
that commander's score wets to the gun. Three wide receivers
to the right, one to the left. It's mcclura. Wet's
tie throws toward the Chelscot Samuel caught touchdown, touchdown, Washington.
What a way to start the second half? Alright, big
one Commanders Radio Network. Yeah, unfortunately're down twenty two. Nothing
big way to start it though, when now we're back
in meanwhile, looks like the Giants are in the end zone.
(01:17:24):
Has that been ruled a touchdown? The Giants are celebrating, Yeah,
and it was Daniel Bellinger, They're big tight end on
a San Diego State, a draft pick who reached out
for the end zone. It looks like unless a knee
is down, that will count as six against the Carolina Panthers.
That is a touchdown. That is a touchdown. That is,
(01:17:45):
this knee is not on the ground and that ball
is across the goal line. So it looks like the
Giants have a chance to tie up this game right now.
Uh touchdown pass there from Jones to Bellinger. And you
know Bellinger, well I do. I called every single game
of his college career. He's really talented. Rookie Giants have
fell in love with him during training camp, and so
(01:18:08):
now it is a thirteen twelve at your point is good?
So thirteen all in New York right now? Yeah? They
really Uh they love his physicality in the blocking game
and obviously just saw what he can do in the
passing game. All Right, the Bucks are down three nothing,
We got nine minutes to go on the third quarter.
They're facing a third and eight, and it's been a
(01:18:29):
very frustrated Tom Brady in this game. But he gets
a first down there. Nice pass um. Actually I said
earlier he threw down his helmet in frustration. It was
actually his tablet that he threw down in frustration after
they were forced to punt on their last drive. Uh boy,
(01:18:49):
you have to look this one up. Where Tom Brady
has been in a game where his team is scoreless
this deep into a game. I imagine it's happened too
many types they have across midfield. Though they have a
first down at the Saints forty five yard line inside
nine minutes ago in the third quarter, he's got plenty
of time to pass and throwing the ball to No. One. Yeah,
(01:19:11):
looking for Scotty Miller toward the left sideline and just
nobody home. So I don't know if he tried to
underthrow that to keep it out of trouble. But he's
now twelve of twenty one passing, and I look if
I haven't seen him get too roughed up in the
pocket so far. He's been in perfect protecting terms of sacks.
(01:19:31):
It's just these Saints are playing tight coverage and Tom
Brady he just hasn't been on the money with these throws.
Nice crossing route by Scotty Miller. He found a and
now the linebackers are running well with these receivers. They
have a good plan the Saints, and they got a
lot of team speed on this defense. All right, Dolphins
trying to get back in this game. Down three touchdowns
of the half to a Ravens team that has been
(01:19:53):
all Lamar Jackson. He had literally a perfect first half
in terms of passer ratings. So the Dolphins have the
ball first and they are moving down the field. Let's
get a quick highlight from the Giants. Rolls left, Rolls
left wide open, his bellinger the rookie guys from the
pilot as he in no signal yet. Touchdown Giants w
Fan Giants Radio Network. So the Giants have tied that game.
(01:20:16):
Now thirteen all against the Panthers. All right, keeping our
eye again on the Bucks. Can they get on the
board in this game? Down three nothing to the Saints.
Not like the Saints are doing anything, but it has
been a struggle for both of these teams. Anybody played
the under on this one? I don't think anna hit. Yeah,
(01:20:37):
you're gonna run to the bank on that one. All right,
we got a lot more coming up or deep in

(01:21:21):
I need a new tire in my car. By the way, Yeah,
you ever have one of those tires You're like looking

still got life left. I will say this, don't just

Right now, the Jacksonville Jaguars are blowing out the Colts
(01:21:41):
twenty four to nothing, and Trevor Lawrence is twenty three
and twenty seven seven yards and two touchdowns. We asked,
will Doug Peterson be an upgrade over Urban Meyer. Yes?
The answer was yes, that was very easy. Yes, So
Jacksonville really having a break out game. Do we have
that latest touchdown by Jacksonville. Let's hear it. Twenty two
(01:22:05):
second of playing the third Trevor under center, play fake,
Trevor is gonna run to the right. He's gonna talk
that Christian Kirk a touchdown touchdown path from Trevor Lawrence,
Chuck presstut CAER, w j x l A, M ten
ten and FM ninety two point five Jaguars Radio Networks.
As I mentioned, Lawrence twenty three, twenty seven two, twenty
(01:22:28):
seven yards, two touchdowns, no picks. Christian Kirk, by the way,
six catches, seventy eight yards and two touchdowns. James Robinson
has sixty one yards rushing and a touchdown. So this
offense total yards in this game, rich Jacksonville has three
hundred and eight and the Colts have a hundred and thirteen.
This is a complete blowout for Jacksonville. Yeah, the Colts
(01:22:52):
better score quick because at this point you're playing for pride.
You just want to get goose egged out there. We
also had Chris Boswell knocked through field goal in these
Pittsburgh Steelers New England game. Uh. New England still leading
ten to six. Stand possession of the football for thirty
eight left in the third and then Mike Asicky tight
end Miami Dolphins, UH caught UH leaping grab back of
(01:23:16):
the end zone and that'll bring the game with him.
Four team Baltimore Ravens still leading at home to fourteen.
That's a very impressive drive. So you're down twenty one
at halftime, right, you're getting blown out by the Ravens.
You're gonna get the ball first in the second half
and you go thirteen place seventy five yards and get
it touched at and you should have seen the strow
from to UH three Baltimore defenders nearby. Mike a SICKI
(01:23:40):
and he basically threw the football at the crossbar and
he said, hey, big man, go up and elevate and
bring that one down for six, and he absolutely did.
It was the only place he could have thrown the football,
whereas tight end had a shot at it and the defense,
uh could not get to it to knock it away
or turn it over. And so really good productive drive,
like you said to, aren't the second half? A lot
(01:24:01):
of work to be done? Trailing twenty one at halftime?
But first, uh, first step on a journey of a
thousand miles is a step or however the saying goes,
and they've taken their first step. That's why I don't
know any Saints. I don't use any of those because
I'm always getting wrong. Bucketeers finally get on the board.
They get a field goal, so Saints and Bucks are
tied to three. We're inside three minutes to go. Uh.
(01:24:23):
In the third quarter, there Tom Brady's fourteen and twenty
four a hundred forty two yards, no touchdown, passes, no picks.
He did lose a fumble earlier in the game. They're
not getting much of a running game either. Leonard for
not just eleven carries for twenty nine yards in this game.
By the way, if you miss it, Jamis Winston is
playing in this game with multiple back fractures. Yes, uh,
(01:24:44):
and the numbers are weird, to be honest with the
He's sixteen or twenty four for just ninety five yards,
so that's five point nine yards per completion. Michael Thomas
had three catches or thirty seven yards. Everybody else's averaging
less than six yards of reception. Mark Ingram has nine
carries for fifty one yards in this game, So I
(01:25:07):
I don't know. And we got a fumble. Saints just
turned over the football in the red zone. It was
a rush up the gut. Not sure who the ball
carrier was, but as he was being tackled at the
Tampa Bay ten yards yet, I mean, the bucks a fumble.
It's just a fun We don't know who dove on it.
But at the bottom of the pilot looks like the
(01:25:29):
fucking years they still have yet to signal. Right now,
and they're still not signaling. Everybody's standing up. Karl Nassi
was at the bottom of that pile. All right, let's watch.
It's definitely a fumble, no question about them out. You
can't tell. It looked like Karl Nasseb has it. And
that's a really digging in right now. But they still
(01:25:50):
haven't had a ruling on the field. We don't know
who's football it will be. Awhile, the Steelers just left
a punt and it's recovered there by New England. So
a muth punt. Watch this Rich right here, I'm gonna
hit him right in the face. Waters saw the ball
bounce off the face mask of the Steelers returner, and
(01:26:14):
that is going to be Patriots football deep in Pittsburgh's
So New England leading that game by a score of
ten to six. Meanwhile, here was that Miami score back
to throw plenty of time looking end zone touchdown high
to holdout Dolphins. Radio Network fourteen Ravens. So the Ravens
(01:26:37):
now get the ball in the second half. Lamar Jackson
in the first half was like perfect eleven or thirteen
over twenty yards, three touchdown snow picks, a perfect passer
rating of one fifty eight to three one fifty eight
point three. So let's see if they can continue going
the same way now that they have the ball in
the second half. He has been the player of the
(01:26:57):
day to say the least uh Jets and rounds Rich
the Browns leading in this game by a score of
seventeen to four. Team uh Jets have the ball right
now a minute to go on the third quarter. Joe Flacco,
of course, he is filling in with the Zack Wilson
out for what They have a clear definition when he's
gonna be back. No, they said at least week four.
(01:27:20):
They're going to keep him on the shelf. But he's
got some torn ligaments in his knee that are tender
to start the season. So they said originally it was
only gonna be one week injury, and then I think frankly,
they just got tired of answering her questions about it,
So he's now going to be missing the first month
of the season. Damien Harris short passed from Mac Jones
to the left sideline, got close to the end zone,
(01:27:41):
and he just pounded in for the score. So New
England now leading sixteen to six in Pittsburgh after it
was Brendan's schooler who dove on the football after the
month month to punt. Three plays later, the Patriots get
into the end zone and they have a nice little
cushion now against the Steelers here in the third quarter.
(01:28:02):
By the way, game back to Jets Brown's game, Flacco
has played well fifteen or d seventy five yards, two
touchdowns and no picks. Jacobe Brisett has been better for
Cleveland eighteen of twenty two eight seven yards, a touchdown
and no picks. One guy that's performing well for the
Jets and Iowa Sam is happy about this. The former
(01:28:23):
Iowa State All American Breece Hall six carries for forty yards.
Also updating you on that Tampa Bay Saints game, it
was Ingram who fumbled the football and Karl Nassa did
recover for Tampa Bay. So they start their next drive
at the ten yard line after getting their first points
on the board to nine play drive. Last drive, Uh,
(01:28:44):
they kicked the field goal and tied it up here
in New Orleans. But right now we're looking at a
three three ball game and the Bucks are facing a
ninety yard field with just seconds left on the clock
in the third quarter. All right, The Commanders down twenty
two to nothing at half time to the Lions score
to make it twenty two to seven, and they have
the ball once again. Carson Wentz, who was miserable in
(01:29:06):
the first half, starting to heat up a little bit
in this game, but the Lions still leading by a
score of twenty two to seven, sixty to go. You
mentioned New England now leading seventeen to six taking advantage
after that, muff pun and mac Jones sixteen twenty four yards,
a touchdown and an interception. So at least he's looking
(01:29:27):
better than he was a week ago. Yeah, you know,
And and that's all you can hope from a young
quarterback is every single week you see some improvement, especially
after what the Patriots have underwent this offseason. Talk about
a culture shock. A coach who has been on your
staff for a decade, uh leaves to become a head
coach again, longer than a decade. I mean that was
(01:29:48):
since I was on the Patriots. I mean, so Josh
McDaniels has been around those hallways for a very long time.
And so you don't just think about the brain drain
for the quarterback, but for the rest of the offense
as well. These receivers, these offensive wine him and you know,
the same voice in the room year after year after
year getting used to the way things will be done.
Now with Matt Patricia at the helm and getting things
(01:30:09):
done on the road. At Pittsburgh, we got the Colts
knocking on the door. First and goal opportunity for Matt
Ryan and this Indianapolis offense, and they elevate back corner
of the end zone. Is he in out of bounds?
It is ruled out of bounds. He might review this play,
but we'll see on that one one ft down It
(01:30:29):
was hard to tell the second it was clearly out.
But did he actually have that right foot down before
the left foot went down. They may take a second
look at that one. Meanwhile, the Commanders looking to get
on the board. They are down seven a deep. That
was a catch. Wow, that was a hell of a
catch man that that looked like he's scooped it right
(01:30:52):
off the ground. All right, we are just updating right now.
We are actually heading to the ends of the third
quarter now around these early games. Seven games going on
right now in the NFL. Keep it right here. This
is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. This is Fox Red
(01:31:12):
Zone Radio. And we got the place that you may
have missed. Henry handing down clad I left two backs
as top last of the middle. He's in put the
touchdown Patriots lead. Now back live to the studios of
Fox Sports Radio. This is Fox Red Zone Radio. That
(01:31:39):
was five, the Sports Hub and the Patriots Radio Network.
Patriots leading the Steelers seventeen to six. Steelers right now though,
have the ball on the New England eight yard line,
trying to get back in this game as we head
to the fourth quarter. There welcome back to is Fox
Sports Red Zone Radio live from the tire rack dot
Com studios. Meanwhile, the Manders back on the board. What's
(01:32:02):
in the gun? The kissing with him stays back to
protect what steps up over the middle of the field
as Logan Thomas touchdown touchdown Washington, Here's what's in the gun?
Three wide receivers to the right. Samuel in motion, wits
rolling out. So if they got it johat dots at
center of the D zone, I guess they knew something
we didn't Big one Commanders Radio Network. So that made
(01:32:25):
it twenty two to fifteen Lions. But the Lions answer
went right down the field DeAndre Swift twenty two yard
touchdown reception from Jared Goff, So the Lions increased their
lead to twenty nine to fifteen, and the Lions obviously
looking for their first win of the season. Commanders winners
last week. The Browns and Jets are now tied at seventeen.
(01:32:49):
Bucks and Saints. We had a fight and Mike Evans
has been kicked out of the game. Yeah, Mike Evans ejected.
So Marshawn Lattimore, Saints corner, got into it with Tom Brady,
just a little verbal altercation. Then for Net came in
and shoved him. Then Mike Evans came flying off the
sideline after unsuccessful Tampa Bay Bucks drive and just completely
(01:33:14):
decleted Marshawn Lattimore. So personal foul would be assessed on
this ensuing drive. And uh, and and Evans day is over. Yeah,
I mean he, I mean he was heading to the sidelines.
I guess he overheard there to protect his Uh. Lattimore
is also kicked out of the game. Okay, there you go.
So both he and Evans are heading into the locker
(01:33:37):
room area. Uh. Meanwhile, we have a touchdown pass Mitch
to Biski to uh what is it free Earth month fireman. Okay,
Pat Friar, meth right there. Eight yard touchdown and a
two point conversion is good. So New England's seventeen six
(01:33:57):
lead is now seventeen four team as we just got
the fourth quarter underway, New England leading the Steelers by
that score of seventeen of fourteen. You know, it's it's
about that time, Rich where we start looking at these
games like, all right, so which games are gonna come
down to the wire? And last week was weird because
we had a couple of games that looked like they
(01:34:18):
were over. Like we were sitting here right at the
start of the fourth quarter, like all right, that game's over,
and then we kept looking up and like, wait a second,
we got a game going on and all craziness. So
right now we got Bucks, Saints tied Panthers, Giants tied
Pats with a three point lead over the Steelers, we
got Jets, Brown's tied. Um, so we got we got
(01:34:41):
some close games and some exciting finishes coming up. But yeah,
the Saints Bucks game, which has been an absolute boarfest
three three game, just got a little exciting with Lattimore
and Evans both getting get kicked out of this game.
The Ravens meanwhile, they're trying to put it away at home.
They lee over the Dolphins and Lamar Jackson on a
(01:35:02):
third by just when up the gut and he may
take this to the hello, he may not be able
to stop. He did unbelievable. What a game? What a
game is having his heisman moment? Alright, So again, let's
let's try to update you as he just ran. I
don't know how many yards. We'll get an update on
it for a second. Here seventy nine yards, all right,
(01:35:25):
So this is where we're at. You ready for this.
We're seeing the ball fourteen of seventeen two or twenty
eight yards three touchdown note pics. That's a perfect rating
of one fifty eight point three. And he has seven
carries for a hundred and eighteen yards and that seventy
nine yard touched out. It was just a beaut any
better than this guy. So when you have a capable
(01:35:45):
running back at quarterback like Lamar Jackson, and by the way,
he's a capable quarterback to I'm not trying to demean that,
but when he is such a capable ball handler, what
you can do on these short yardage plays is have
an extra blocker, you know, you run it with the
eleventh man. Normally the quarterbacks just sitting back there carrying
out a fake and he's watching the running back do
the work. But instead this time they had fly sweet
(01:36:08):
motion to the play side. They had a quarterback power
and he took it to the house because sold out
to the line of scrimmage to stop the run. All Right,
when it comes to fantasy football, you're far more. Uh,
I'm in app completely, I'm out of it this year.
How many points are we talking about with Lamar Jackson?
Let me let me get teena seventeen two yards, three touchdowns,
not picks, a perfect pass rading on three seven carries,
(01:36:31):
a hundred eighteen yards and a touchdown. Yeah, I'll give
you the live update if I can on the in
in my league where it's six point passing touchdowns, He's
currently at forty four point nine. Is that good? I
mean what what would a good score be normally? Like, yeah,
thirties a very solid score. I mean anything above twenty
(01:36:53):
five first starting quarterbacks we love, but Lamar Jackson because
he does so much on a football field, you know
you're gonna get that at a benefit of his rushing attack.
But this is just unique and and he is unique
as an athlete. And against the Dolphins defense, who, by
the way, in Week one played very well you know,
so this is uh, this is a feather in a
cap for a Ravens team that had an easier slate
(01:37:15):
Week one, and you could argue a tougher sleep even
though hosting the Dolphins. They've completely blown up in this
game in the final waning moments because we're under the
two minute warning and they have a commanding twenty one
point lead. Again all right, Brown's Jesson mentioned tide at
sevente ago in the fourth quarter. In this game, the
Browns have a first and goal at the Jets seven
(01:37:37):
yard line. Again, Jacoby Perset has had a great day.
He's twenty twenty four, seventy yards, one touchdown and no picks.
Nick Chubb has seventy one yards rushing and a touchdown
on the Granda Marii Cooper. You think he's made a
difference for the Browns. Eight catches, ninety yards and a score.
Keep the highlights coming here. Golf's back. Washington brings the pressure.
(01:37:58):
Golf throws it is complete, This swift falls down, gets
back up and once it's not the townly to the
house touchdown. The try lions from the seat of his
path to the end zone. W x y T fm
N one the ticket Lions radio networks. After the Commanders
(01:38:19):
had cut the Lions lead. Lines were up twenty two nothing.
At halftime, Commanders got to within two fifteen, but the
Lions answer back on that golf to swift pass for
the touchdown. So we are heading to the fourth quarter
in that game. By the way, just a breather for
here for a second, guys, anybody enjoying pizza right now?
(01:38:40):
How's the pizza? Is the pizza working, Sam? Is the
pizza working for it? Oh? Yeah, yeah, Town, right now? Yeah? Town.
I saw Ryan with stacks of pizza. Then the Buffalo
Chicken Labs. Now we got we had like that pepperoni
and hallapeens. But it cooled down a little bit. Yeah, yeah, honestly,
(01:39:02):
yeah now, and I it's cleared my sinuses. I feel
much better, by the way. Um. The Saints opened their
drive after the ejections of Mike Evans and Marshawn Lattimore
after the Tampa Bay punt, with the first intent run
just about a two yard game to the their own
forty seven yard line. Jamis Winston absolutely heaved the ball
(01:39:25):
deep down the middle of the field and it was
intercepted by Tampa Bay So Tampa Bay takes over after
the touchback when playing Who's They're still a three three
ball game to go on the fourth quarter game that's
inside the eight minute mark in the fourth quarter the
Jackson Colts. It's been all Jags today, I mean all Jags.
(01:39:45):
Twenty four and nothing. Trevor Lawrence twenty five of twenty nine,
two thirty five yards and two scores. Indianapolis trying to
finally get some points here Rich They are now second
and seven at the Jackson bill eight yard line. It
has been a rough day for Matt Ryan and company.
He has a pick, no touchdowns, obviously no points. And
(01:40:09):
you know, Jonathan Taylor finally got some yards, but is
it too little, too late? And the ball is almost
intercept in the end zone. I gotta tell you dropped
in the end zone. We know it happens at a
certain point, and I'm not willing to say it's happening
with Matt Ryan, but there is a point in every
single quarterback's career where all of a sudden, the game
(01:40:29):
speeds up, their arms slows down. It's just not working anymore.
And I don't I don't know if we're there with
Matt Ryan, But this has been a rough start to
a season. They really depended on him a lot of
weeks ago through over fifty passes in that loss or
excuse me, tied to the Houston Texans on the road.
But this game, this offense has been completely in nep
(01:40:50):
They've they've gone two of nine on two for nine
on third down conversions. They're over one on the day
fourth down efficiency, and they only have nine first downs
overall to twenty one for the Jacksonville Jaguars. So it's
not only going poorly for the Colts offense, it's just
it's going just as badly for the Colts defense. Yeah,
(01:41:12):
Matt Ryan last week became just the eighth quarterback in
NFL history to get to sixty thousand career passing yards.
It was something something on the football about referencing three.
Did you see this? Oh, they they sent it to
the like there was you know, it's you know, the
only eight. It was a serial number on the ball.
(01:41:33):
It had twenty eight three R two eighty three, which
of course is infamous three the lead that they had
in that Super bowlar Men about Matt Ryan. Is he
a Hall of Famer? You know? And this is you know,
the longevity question has Frank Gore dominant sixteen thousand yards rushing,
a Philip Rivers has over sixty thousand yards passing, Matt
(01:41:55):
Ryan sixty thousand yards passing. I know you've talked about
this because you have total disdain for any awards are
halls of fame. But you say, from a player's perspective
that longevity means something. It means a lot. It doesn't
mean something. It means a whole lot. If you're able
to sustain your health in such a brutal, violent game, uh,
(01:42:16):
and play a long career, especially one with as much
success as Matt Ryan, that's an achievement in and of itself.
And so look, you know a lot of people say, well,
you know, it's just uh, you know, Pad Stafford. While
Matthew Stafford was out there in Detroit, well, I mean
he showed up every single week and he was the
best thing going in Detroit for virtually his entire career there.
(01:42:37):
You know, you had that stint with Calvin Johnson, but
outside that it was Matthew Stafford and not much else.
He goes to the Rams, he wins the super Bowl,
and now he's a Hall of Famer. Yeah, I just
I just don't look at the team accomplishment for an
individual Hall of Fame accomplishment as being as important as
people make it out to be. But look, that's conversation
for a different day. Tons of NFL football going on
(01:42:59):
right now. And these Colts, I mean, trying desperately to
get something going turnover on downs in the red zone
so to be JAG's ball, and they really haven't protected
Matt Ryan well five sacks on the day. All right,
let's find out what's training right now. I'm wondering how
Mons he's doing. What's she able to get any of
that cheese pizza? Yes, I was able to get two slices,
(01:43:21):
but it's a cheese pizza is popular. It's the one
that's almost gone. Everybody loves. Who else is eating cheese
pizza around here? I don't know, so I know I'm
gonna have to only have two slices. Ridiculous. It is
so so good. That is New York style pizza. But
it's it's so good because you know a lot of
people you can't mess up pizza, but pizza is always good.
(01:43:44):
This is like not just good, it's so good. I
agree with that statement there there. Look, I mean, there's
no such thing as bad pizza. I mean there's pizza.
I prefer correct more than others. But but this just
happens to be excellent. Glad you're enjoying it, especially after
we had our vegan wings last week, which were so
good to our world a little bit, you know. I mean, yeah,
(01:44:07):
there were a lot of smiles around the room while
we're diving into the bamboo sticks in the middle of
the wings. And I mean those weren't bones. They were
not bones, but it made me feel like you were
holding a bone. Sure. The Browns just took the lead
on the Jets thanks to Nick Chubb rushing for a touchdown.
He has fifteen carries, seventy yards and two touchdowns. But
(01:44:28):
the Browns are now up on the Jets to seventeen
nine minutes to go in the game. The lines are
still up on the Commanders, but hey, Carson Wentz now
has actual points. In my fantasy he was negative too
for a lot. Now he actually has got me some points.
Commanders are on the board, but they're still down twenty
nine to fifteen on the Lions twelve minutes ago in
the game. The Bucks in the Saints. They get a scuffle,
(01:44:50):
people get ejected. The score is still three to three,
ten minutes to go in the fourth quarter. The Giants
are now up on the Panthers by a field goal.
They were tied, but now they're up sixteen thirteen, twelve
minutes to go in that game. The Patriots up on
the Steelers seventeen to fourteen, ten and a half minutes
to go in regulation. Jaguars, you guys were talking about it,
have just dominated the Colts this entire game, twenty four
(01:45:13):
to zero, about five minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
And speaking about dominating, yeah, that's exactly what Lamar Jackson
is doing. In the Ravens, they're up on the Dolphins
thirty five to fourteen, fourteen minutes to go in the game.
A little baseball, The Yankees are down to the Brewers
right now, four to three, top of the fourth inning.
Aaron Judge hit his fifty eight homer of this season,
(01:45:34):
three shy of tying the a L record back to
you guys, Yeah you got that home run Chase, and
then you have the pool hole states where he's two
home run shy of being the fourth player ever to
get to seven hundred home runs. So yeah, we're coming
down the stretch and baseball exciting times. But right now
we are totally focused on a big Sunday in the NFL,
and the Browns take the lead. Here's per Sette gibing
(01:45:56):
Cup running to the five cut back cut cut bock
a little bit, hey don touch down that chump puts
the props back into the insode that back into the league.
Twenty three seventeen, Brown's Radio Network. They got the extra
point seven team Brown's lead the Jets right now, nine
minutes ago in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, the player of
(01:46:19):
the day just got a shotgun Mike Davis to his right,
the Dolphins six along the front. Jackson will keep it.
He's got room. He's at the thirty. That's the lake
right story. Put Jackson mid fielding going forty thirty. He's
too play ten four cocks with a cob and Lamar
(01:46:40):
Jackson has pushed the Dolphins's back into a deep hole.
Nanny A. Rock Ravens Radio Net or Lamar Jackson is
fourteen of seventeen two or twenty yards, three touchdowns, no picks.
That's a perfect passer rating of one three and he
has seven carries for a hundred eighteen yards and a touchdown.
He had has been ridiculous today. Yeah, it showed me
(01:47:03):
the money. It's been going really well for anyone in
the you know, hey, maybe we should pay Lamar Jackson camp.
Although he says negotiations are over. He said they're over.
He said, you've missed your window. Week one was the
time limit, So do not talk to me about my contract.
But twa and this Miami Dolphins offense or in the
(01:47:25):
low red zone and the baul was knocked out, So
we're gonna have third and goal for the Dolphins, still
down big twenty one point twelve minutes ago. Here. Meanwhile,
Tom Brady is trying to get his Buccaneers into the
end zone. They have a third and five at the
New Orleans twenty eight yard line. This game is three
three right now, and so third and five and Brady
(01:47:48):
is looking, he's got all day to pass, the protection
has been there, throws the hands touchdown Buccaneers. Wow wow, wow,
is right? Was that Harriman with the school or no,
that was Gauge who caught that football. We'll get you
an update on the receiver who reeled that one in
a moment, but single coverage down the right sideline, day
(01:48:10):
to pass, bounced in the pocket for about three or
four seconds, great release off the line and just a
back of the end zone throw, and it was Breshad
Perriman who catches for the first touchdown of this game.
By the way, neither side have scored through the air
on the ground, it's all been trading field goals. Who
(01:48:32):
was knotted up at three and with this extra point,
it'll be a ten three lead for Tampa Bay late
in the action here on the road in New Orleans.
You know, I'm looking at the Bucks schedules. So they
had the road win against the Cowboys, they were just awful. Uh,
maybe they're gonna escape with the win on the road
against the Saints and their next two games you ready
for this home against the Packers, home against the Chiefs. Yeah, yeah, uh,
(01:48:57):
and then they get the Falcons sit home, so they'll
have three stray a home games at Packers, Chiefs Falcons
will be the Bucks next three games. Well, how about
that scheduling, you know, I mean, don't get me wrong,
you're playing the Saints on the road, but their division rival.
It has to happen at some point but you you
draw the Chiefs and the Packers at home. I mean,
(01:49:17):
that's that's okay. By the way, that Chief's games, the
Sunday night game, Yeah, that's gonna be a lot of
fun to turn on. Well, we thought that this was
gonna be a lot of fun to turn on because
you have Tom Brady, who has been a touchdown rainmaker
for his entire career. You have Jameis Winston who's always
entertaining a quarterback where they're throwing touchdowns or interceptions. And
we've got thirteen points on the board total with one
(01:49:40):
to play, with Tampa Bay leading tent three. Uh the
Washington Commander's score, Antonio Gibson a one yard run. They
went for a two point conversion. Why oh no, no, No,
it wasn't a two point conversion. The extra point was missed.
I believe this is our first miss kick extra point today.
Have we had one before? I don't believe so. I
(01:50:02):
think that's but that was a critical miss. So the
Giants still did the Giants miss one early, remember because
they tagged on on the No, the Giants had the
two field goals. So that first kick miss extra point, No, no,
it was a two point they went for why would
they go for two? They're very tricky. That is bizarre.
(01:50:25):
You were down, they were down seven, they scored a touchdown,
they went for two. Didn't get it. So now there's
down eight. I don't get it. I and there's still
ten and a half minutes to go. Let's hear that
Commander's score. First of goal, Gipson, next the wins hand
off Gipson right up the middle, reaches over the goal line, touchdown, touchdown, Washington,
(01:50:49):
Big one Commanders Radio. And I don't get that. Why
would you go for two? So, I mean, if it
was late in the game, but if you kick an
extra point, you're down seven with ten and a half
minutes to go. Yeah, yeah, it's it's an interesting decision.
Like you said, it's it's now an eight, it's a
two possession game where it's still one possession with eight
points because no, yeah, but but now forces you go
(01:51:11):
for the two point conversion the second time around, whereas
you could have tied it with the field goal. Look,
it's riverboat, Ron, That's the only thing I'd say, Ron Rivera.
This is what he's done, made a career of he's
a risker or he's a risky, he's a better he's
a risk taker. And that's exactly what happened here in
this game on the road in Detroit. All right, Panthers
(01:51:32):
Giants are tied at sixteen now ten, forty six to
go on the fourth quarter. If he got McCaffrey on
your fantasy team, I got good news. He just had
a forty nine yard run. So McCaffrey now is fifteen
carries for a hundred in two yards, and all of
a sudden, you're breathing a little bit. He only has
two catches or twelve yards, but at least he has
a hundred yards plus rushing in this game. So that
(01:51:52):
is a game that looks like it's gonna go down
to the wire. Let's hear the Bucks finally getting on
the board. Good staff, Brady, Brady look at looking looking
goose of all towards the right quarner to the right corner.
It's called touch the Tampa Bay Bucant Terraman. What a
throw by Brady. Have the Bucks lead for the first
time of the game. Buccaneers Radio Network. They leave the
(01:52:14):
Saints tendant three and the Buccaneers have just intercepted Jamis Winston.
So the Buccaneers have the lead, and they have the
ball seven and a half minutes to go in the
fourth quarter in that game, is that the second it is?
It's the second straight possession. Now that Jamis Winston has
thrown an interception, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were able to
(01:52:35):
turn the last drive off the turnover into seven points
for their offense. So Jamis Winston in a type ball
game is proving to be a problem here. Look, he's
he has been careless with the football in the past. Uh,
it doesn't matter who his head coaches. You know a
lot of people are like, well, he's playing for Bruce
Arians and he's like, you know, the no risk and
(01:52:56):
no biscuit coach. Yet well, look, you know it's followed
him into New Orleans and he had time working with
Seawan Payton. Uh. You know, he's working with a new
offensive staff now and he's still making a lot of
the same mistakes. Ravens uh Lee was cut to thirty
twenty one another touchdown passer to ah. Let's hear it,
rookie wide open. Oh man, he had most wide opening
(01:53:20):
eight Craik Craft coming the cross for the touchdown. All right,
Well that was total confusion Dolphins Radio network. They don't
know what they're looking at. But it was a touchdown
for the Dolphins. And then Lamar Jackson gets the ball
back and his first throw as a thirty yards strike.
Um Lamar Jackson is fifteen of eighteen two undred fifty
four yards three touchdown. Snow picks a perfect radio one
(01:53:43):
three yels, eighteen yards rushing on seven attempts. All right,
we are heading toward the finish line and these opening
games on this NFL Sunday, keep it right here. This
is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. Stad is Fox Red
Zone Radio, and we've got the place that you may

Now back live to the studios of Fox Sports Radio.
(01:54:28):
This is Fox Red Zone Radio. That was w x
y t f M one the Ticket Lions radio network.
So the Lions leading the Commanders thirty six to twenty
one inside six minutes ago in the fourth quarter, Lions
looking for their first victory of the season. Meanwhile, Bucketeers
(01:54:51):
and Saints. This was a three three game no longer
as the Bucks right now have scored again on a
pick six. The extra point is good, so twenty two
three now Buccaneers leading in the Saints. Jamis Winston playing
this game with multiple fractures in his back, and suddenly
he's throwing the ball like a guy that has multiple
(01:55:12):
fractures in his back. Looked, some of these throws are
really really sharp. But Jamis Winston, he is He's just
way too risky with the football in gotta have at moments.
And the last four series for the New Orleans Saints
go like this, Ingram fumble turnover, Jamis Winston interception in
(01:55:33):
the end zone, Jamis Winston interception for a short return.
Tampa Bay turns that one into seven points. Jaleen win
or excuse me, Jamis Winston interception pick six. We have
a touchdown bomb Tyreek Hill getting behind the Ravens defense too,
putting it right there, and just like that, the Dolphins
are within a score of the Ravens. This Ravens team
(01:55:55):
has been dominant throughout. They had a twenty eight to
seven halftime lead, but to it just through his fourth
touchdown pass of the game, and he delivered it on
the money right here to Tyreek Hill, who gets beyond
the defense, which is what he does everywhere, and uh,
suddenly we are an extra point away from a seven
point game. Look how unfurled you become when you're facing
(01:56:19):
that level of speed. You know it's just a post route,
but you you just have to flip your hips and
just try to keep up with him. And you have
no idea when the ball is coming in because he
does something that the best receivers do, which is he
flashes late hands. You don't know when the ball is
gonna be there because he doesn't extend his arms and
wait for it. He literally just pops his hands out
(01:56:41):
as soon as the ball is coming in and you
don't have a chance to face guard him. And that's
exactly what happened here to a tongue of vlo through
absolutely every ounce of himself into that football, and Tyreek
Hill did have to slow down just just a little bit,
but he had plenty of clearance to get that ball.
By the way, this is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
We are alive from the tire Irack Dot com Studios
(01:57:01):
so two. His numbers are thirty of forty three three
d sixty seven yards, four touchdowns and two picks. Tyree
Hill has eight catches for a hundred yards and a touchdown.
Jalen Waddle has nine catches for a hundred and sixty
one yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, as you you know,
Lamar Jackson, what more can you do? I mean, sixteen
(01:57:23):
of nineteen, two hundred sixty yards, three touchdowns, no picks,
still a perfect pass RADI and one three nine carries
our hundred nineteen yards and a touchdown that a seventy
nine yard or so. This is a one score game
and we still got seven forty seven ago in the
fourth quarter, so plenty of action ahead in what has
been probably the most entertaining game of the day so far.
(01:57:45):
I would agree, just so much offense. And it looked
like the Miami Dolphins were left for dead into the
fourth quarter, and here they are roaring back. Mike McDaniel
has made believers out of these players. He says, Okay,
if they can score fast, so can we. Let's just
keep our foot on the pedal. And the Dolphins haven't
really slowed down. Uh and they've had had some success
(01:58:07):
defensively getting the ball back from the Baltimore Ravens. In
the fourth, we have our first final of the day.
The Jacksonville Jaguars had defeated the Colts twenty four to nothing. Zero.
For the Indianapolis Colts, Trevor Lawrence was twenty five or
thirty two, thirty five yards to touch to Taylor only
had fifty four yards rushing. Shocking. I mean, it's one
(01:58:28):
thing to lose, but to get shut out like Jacksonville.
And Frank Reich, head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, we
talked about this earlier. He's hied the Texans and now
lose on a shutout to jackson He's just gotten so
much out of veteran quarterbacks coming into Indie. And you
know Carson Wentz. Look, I mean, you can't turn your
(01:58:48):
nose up at what he was able to get done
with Carson Wentz a season ago, they almost made the playoffs.
They had to beat Jacksonville at the end of the
season and did not. They didn't get shut out by them,
but they did not, and that knocked them out of tension.
But but that was that was that was the team
that expectations were pretty low, and he got a lot
out of Philip Rivers. Same thing. He's been able to
(01:59:09):
click in with veteran quarterbacks and maximize their potential. It
just hasn't clicked in with Matt Ryan. And we have
a Cleveland Browns touchdown rush. Yeah, that was a big
one right there. So the Browns was that earlier? No,
that's just now, all right, So that is just now.
So the Browns were leading seventeen. We'll get back to that,
but first, the Bucks are rolling right now, propping to
(01:59:31):
throw once the gun post to the left. That's had
our saft out of the thirty five outside the nupper
to the forty touched out Tampa Bay. That's the tagger,
my friend. Yeah, Buccaneers Radio networks of the pick six
makes it Buccaneers twenty Saints three, about three minutes to
go in the fourth quarter in that game. So yes,
Cleveland gets on the board again. So they're pulling away
(01:59:54):
with the Jets, who got the two minute warning coming
up here, and the Browns increasingly penning the extra point
thirty to seventeen over the Jets. So Rich, I'm looking
right now at one score games. The Panthers have the
ball right now, trailing the Giants nineteen to sixteen. We
got two forty seven to go in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile,
the Patriots are leading the Steelers seventeen of fourteen there
(02:00:18):
at the Steeler twenty seven yard line, leading the Steelers
by a score at seventeen and fourteen. And I don't
think we've heard the last of this Ravens Dolphins game.
You know, I don't think so either. I think we
are heading towards a fun finish. Here, as my goodness,
the Dolphins nearly picked off Lamar Jackson on a late
(02:00:38):
throw to the flat. All right, for the exciting finishes,

(02:01:20):
you heard from Monsey at the top. The Dolphins have
tied this game against the Ravens. A complete meltdown in
the secondary of the Ravens allows Tyreek Hill to run
for an easy score. Let's hear it, looking whips don't
feel right, open cups dot to kill. Unbelievable. God be
(02:01:42):
beare by seven away yours just throw by the second
time Dolphins Radio Network. Complete confusion in the secondary for
Baltimore right there. So the Dolphins were down twenty fourteen
going in the fourth quarter, were now hid at thirty four.
Ravens have the ball. Lamar Jackson has had a remarkable day,
(02:02:04):
but now he is scrambling to try to get the
Ravens back on track to a house two four nine
yards passing five touchdowns. Waddle as nine catches on d
sixty one yards, Tyreek Hill nine catches hundred sixty yards
and those two scores. What a comeback by the Dolphins.
Go home, Miami, Baltimore, you're drunk. How did this game
(02:02:27):
go this way? I mean, Miami at one point was
left for dead. Yeah, we just assumed that Baltimore was
going to continue just raging on on, you know, the
second half success like they had in the first, and
Miami comes roaring back, and it's on the wheels and
the heels of Tyreek Hill, who has just been sensational,
(02:02:48):
especially in this fourth quarter. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens
trying to put something together here. They have a first
and ten after a pass interference at the fifty yard line,
and I just can't believe that this is a tie
ball game. I just can't believe the Dolphins were able
to fire back and Lamar Jackson just threw a strike
and they're well within Miami Dolphins territory. Yeah, they're they're
(02:03:11):
moving right now. They got a pass interference call against Miami.
They gave him an automatic first now and now passed
down the middle, so the Ravens are into Miami territory.
We wonder if Tyreek Hill was going to have any
impact on two A tongue of eye law he has, Yes, yeah, yeah,
he's having a very similar impact on two us. What Happatrick?
I don't understand this. You're in a seven point game
(02:03:32):
late and you know Tyreek Hill is always going to
be a target. How does he run by a corner
and there's no one on the back side to pick
him up. Busted coverage. It was either the safety didn't
understand that he had that half of the field, or
it was the corner didn't understand that. You don't think
that everybody should know we gotta cover Tyreek Hill? Oh oh,
I'm not arguing with the point. Everybody they were looking
(02:03:55):
at another point and like, well, I thought you had
this Guy'm like, why would anybody be focused on anyone
other than Tyreek Hill? Well, and I think the coverage
it looked like they were going to try to get
the corner help with safety over the top help, which
was late, and so they looked at each other like,
who's to blame here? Well, they answer is both Busted
coverage leads to six points. It's inexcusable down the stretch
(02:04:16):
in the game, especially with the defense like the Baltimore
ravenside that's prideful bunch, great every single season. And that
was a huge, huge touchdown for the Miami Dolphins. That
goes without saying, all right, so that's our focus that
game right now. Meanwhile, it is over. The Giants have
defeated the Panthers by a score of nineteen to sixteen.
That means the Giants are two and oh all of
(02:04:37):
a sudden. Daniel Jones hundred seventy six yards one touchdown.
Note picks se Kwon Barkley at seventy two yards rushing
in this game. Baker Mayfield in a losing cost fourteen
of twenty nine. Not good hundred forty five yards in
the score. Christian McCaffrey did have a hundred and two
yards rushing. But the Panthers are oh and two and
the Giants are two and oh. The Giants are two
(02:05:00):
no for the first time since Odell Beckham Jr. Was
a New York Giant. I mean it's been a while now. Uh,
Eli Manning was your quarterback, so uh. The Giants off
to a great start with uh. With day Ball as
their head coach back healthy. We have an exciting finish
going on right now between the Browns and the Jets.
Jets are trailing this game thirty to twenty four, and
(02:05:22):
the Jets are right now at the fifteen yard line
of Cleveland. There is thirty seconds to play in this one,
so let's keep it right here. Joe Flacco has played
extremely well today, uh. For the Jets. He has three
touchdown passes, no picks, and he's scrambling right now throws
the ball away, so we're gonna have a third and
(02:05:42):
ten for the Jets at the Cleveland fifteen yard line.
He's sown for two hundred ninety two yards uh in
this game. Meanwhile, Jacoby Briset has been actually brilliant so
far for Cleveland twenty nine yards and a touchdown. Brands
came into this game with a win in their first game.
Jets were oh and one, and now Joe Flacco here
(02:06:05):
trying to pull this game out for the Jets. They
now have a third and ten with twenty five seconds
to go on the fourth quarter. This is after Joe
Flacco connected with Davis for a long touchdown. On the
last touchdown, Joe Flacco finds a receiver in the end zone,
just a short slant route and it's Wilson again, his
(02:06:27):
second touchdown reception of the day. The Jets tie the
ball game with an opportunity to take a lead with
the ensuing extra point nine play drive. Again after that
Davis touchdown to kick ant and that was a great
throw right there for touchdown passes for Joe Flacco, so
(02:06:49):
they are now an extra point away from taking the lead.
So the Jets could take the lead with an extra
point right now. Of course I say that memory what
happened the bank Us last week. The extra point is good.
So the Jets lead the Browns thirty one to thirty
twenty two seconds left in the fourth quarter, the Browns
(02:07:09):
blowing a thirty to seventeen league. Yeah, and I can't
describe to you how crazy this finishes for the Jets,
because again it was a to place seventy five yard
drive on the touchdown reception to Corey Davis from Joe Flacco,
possession togo and then they onside kick it, recover it
and go eight plays for the score here on the
Garrett Wilson touchdown reception to go up one point over
(02:07:31):
Cleveland in Cleveland. This is crazy. This is just bonkers,
all right. Justin Tucker, the future Hall of Famer, just
kicked a fifty one yard field goal for the Ravens
to give him a thirty eight to thirty five lead
to eighteen to go in the fourth quarter. The Dolphins
were down twenty one, they tied it. Ravens retake the
(02:07:53):
lead with a field goal. Now the Dolphins have the
ball with plenty of time to either take the lead.
I know one thing. If I'm the Ravens right now,
I'm like, I don't care how many people were committed
to Tyree Hill. If he gets behind a single guy again,
heads are gonna roll. Yeah, yeah, I mean, I mean,
you just get it's unacceptable. You cannot let the best
player on a team get that open at the end
(02:08:16):
of a game. I mean, the film study room for
these defensive backs is going to be atrocious. On Monday, Um,
all right, Seattle against San Francisco, they're visiting the Bay Area.
That's just kicked off. We're in the first two minutes
of that game. Atlanta has just kicked off against the Rams.
In l a couple of finals, Patriots did defeat the
Steelers seventeen fourteen. Huge win for the Pats on the road,
(02:08:39):
and the Lions get their first victory of the year.
They hang on to beat the Commanders by a score
of thirty six to twenty seven. So we got the
Jets leading the Browns thirty one. Thirty two seconds in
the fourth Buccaneers are leading the Saints twenty to ten.
We're at the two minute warning. There and then the
game we're really watching right now. We're at two oh
five to go in the fourth quarter and the Ravens
(02:09:01):
are leading the Dolphins thirty five. We checked in with
Mark Sanchez a little bit earlier. He's on the call
of that Rams Falcons game. I'm exta to see what
the Rams are gonna do today. I mean, they were
so bad in that opening game against Buffalo. Obviously Atlanta
is certainly not a great team. They had a tough
loss in Week one where they blew a lead. Um,
So we'll see what happens in this game, and then
(02:09:22):
the forty Niners Seahawks another game. Can you imagine if
the forty Niners were to lose this game? Um, because
I'll let you talk about their schedule. So the forty
Niners who looked awful in that loss to the Bears,
and I know it was in the rain, but okay,
same for both teams. But you're playing the Seahawks at
home this week, and then you go to Denver next week.
I guess who's what after that Rams at home. So
(02:09:43):
we were speculating, like if if trade Lance is like
oh and three, yeah, it's a house of horrors, would
you would you come back with Jimmy Garoppolo against the Rams. Oh,
the Cleveland Browns. Jacobe percent just threw a pick and
that is going to ice the game. The Jets will
win this on thirty one thirty in Cleveland. Yeah. The
(02:10:05):
Browns drop to one and one on the season. The
New York Jets improved to one in one. That is ballgame, folks. Wow.
Unbelievable late finish for this team on the road. The
New York Jets survive. Wow wow wow. Yeah. But getting
back to what you were talking about, Look, Trey Lance,
is he talented. Yeah, there's no question he's talented, But
he hasn't played a lot of football. He just hasn't
(02:10:27):
played a lot of football. This guy played, you know,
four years of high school football, and I assumed some
before that, but he only played a season at the
college level at the FCS level, plus one game in
a spring season during COVID and then he was drafted
by the San Francisco forty niners and left on the shelf.
You know. So, look, they're gonna be growing pains and
(02:10:47):
in this league, Unfortunately for Trey Lance, there's not a
lot of time for quarterbacks to go through those growing
pains anymore. They'll move on quickly. And Kyle Shanahan and
John Lynch may have a lot of belief in him.
But if he does get it right in this game
and the two games that are coming after it, like
you said, no easy tasks coming up on the schedule,
they may go back to Jimmy g all right, let's
(02:11:09):
keep it right here, guys. Let's gonna keep it right here,
because we got the finish of this game coming up
between the Ravens and the Dolphins. We've hit the two
minute warning. Dolphins had the ball thirty eight to thirty five.
Ravens who led going into the fourth quarter thirty five
to fourteen, five touchdown passes for two a tongue of
ioloa uh and of course the last couple that Tyreek
(02:11:31):
Hill had been backbreakers for this Ravens team. They have
the ball in their own thirty five yard line, and
guess who's open. Tyreek Hill. He's just so good. He
was the hot look on this pass, just running a
steam route. Theres The Ravens blitzed an extra man and
so it was Tyreek Hill and man coverage with the
safety over the top, and nobody can man up Tyreek Hill.
(02:11:53):
Not in this game at least, I mean the Ravens.
You gotta do something different here because this is absurd.
Tyreek Hill is wide open and they're just picking up
twenty thirty yards a pop. So another crossing pass the
Tyreek Hill and he's off to the races and he
gets in the first down. It looks like maybe just shy,
but they're in field goal range, so at very least
an opportunity to down on the fields. He's limping to
(02:12:16):
the sideline's taking himself out for a play. Tyrek was
cramping earlier, alright, so he just took himself out for
a play. It's a second and one now we're at
one oh eight o'clock is running. By the way, Tyreek Hill.
Levin catches under ninety yards and two touchdowns. He's insane.
But right now you're just trying to get into field
goal range at the least to send this game into overtime.
(02:12:38):
The clocks running, are you allowed? Are you surprised because
Miami has two time outs? Well, they're already in field
goal range. They feel comfortable with their kickers range here,
but yeah, they're allowing this to run down. Mike McDaniel
looking for this in the game. But we gotta rush
up the gun. Now, what happened to the Ravens defense?
There were they thinking they're gonna throw the ball. Edmund's
(02:13:01):
right up, the gun gets inside the tan yard line,
Edmonds untouched. Clock is still running. By the way, you
got two timeouts. Yeah. I don't think they're not gonna
go for a win on the road. I do. I
don't think they want the Ravens to get an extra
possession here, so they're just playing keepaway right now. Jae
(02:13:22):
Edmonds untouched until the defensive secondary the Ravens sold out
to stop the run. Nobody home behind the second level.
That is unbelievable. But the clock is running really quickly.
I want to point out what just happened in the
Bucks Saints game. It was a fourth and ten. Jameis
Winston throws to Jarvis Landry who's open about nine yards out,
and he's running and he just goes and runs out
(02:13:44):
of bounds a yard short of the first time, and
now the game is over. Well all right, Well the
Bucks win that game by a score of twenty to ten.
All right. Finally decided to take a time out, so
it's first in golf for Miami. There down three and yeah,
(02:14:05):
you're inside the tan yard line. Well, I listen, you
have time to run three full plays. Yeah, with four
left on the clock. So I don't mind the strategy here.
And clearly they've been effective in the red zone all
day long. Let's is throwing in the end zone and
it is oh wow, looking for Jalen Waddle over the
top just to post route there and there might be Yeah.
(02:14:26):
Marcus Williams is down in the defensive secondary for the Ravens. Yeah.
He has two interceptions in this game. By the way,
Marcus Waite's both the picks of two a tongue of
voloa Marcus Williams and he landed the wrong way. Um.
So all passes where again it was either going to
be caught by Waddle made an unbelievable catch, yeah, or
it was going out the end zone, yeah to a
(02:14:48):
tongue of Vala, especially in the low red zone. Has
thrown some really really good passes. Forty Niners have gotten
on the board first in their game against the Seahawks
early field goals, so three not forty nin oh in
the first quarter in that game. The other game that's underway.
Falcons had the ball right now. No score in their
game against the Rams, all right, so we have second
(02:15:09):
and goal with nineteen seconds left in the fourth quarter.
Obviously Miami looking to get in the end zone and
get this win, which would be remarkable to a tongue
of volo Is thirty five forty eight, four hundred sixty
two yards, five touchdowns and two picks. Lamar Jackson nineteen yards,
three touchdowns and no picks. I'll say this about too,
(02:15:33):
He's unflappable. Uh. Look, you know, you look at a
guy like Jamis Winston against Tom Brady, a division rivalry,
and he just completely unraveled in the fourth quarter. He
threw three interceptions in the fourth quarter. One was a
pick six, and that decides a ball game. When you
make those kind of mistakes, you have to have a
bounce back factor. You have to be able to sort of,
(02:15:53):
you know, grit down and and and and just improve.
Have a better series. Don't let the same series beat
you twice. Don't get in the red and to uh,
he's a cool character man. He doesn't let the last
series have any effect on his next series. And as
a result, even though throwing two picks in a tightly
contested game has kept the wheels on for this Dolphins offense,
and his playmakers have helped them out. They've done some
(02:16:15):
amazing Uh. Done an amazing job getting open for him.
And then in terms of the rushing attack, what Chase
Edmonds just did getting this ball into the red zone.
After getting it into field goal territory with two consecutive
passes to Hill, the Dolphins have an opportunity to win
this inside the eight yard line of the Ravens. Alright,
(02:16:36):
so during Williams, I I was mistaken. It wasn't Marcus Wains,
it was down it was Demaran Williams. Marcus Williams had
the two interceptions earlier in the game. So we have
twenty three seconds to go in the fourth quarter and
Miami now has a second and goal at the eight
yard line of the Ravens. Uh. Just an amazing game.
(02:16:57):
And you know I said before the season, this is
one the teams that I really wanted to see this year.
Mike McDaniel will kind of impact what he have could
two would be a different guy with Tyreek Hill. Now
he's scrambled look in the end zone, touched out Waddle
jail and waddle in the end zone to arranging to
his left avoiding pressure. Unbelievable. That's the six touchdown pass
(02:17:19):
for two. That is that is uh four touchdown passes
in the fourth quarter for two a tongue of voloa.
So with fourteen seconds remaining, a stunned Ravens crowd leading
thirty five to fourteen going into the fourth quarter, and
(02:17:41):
now Miami has taken the lead. And by the way,
with the extra point, it would be a four point lead,
and that would mean the Ravens would need a miracle touchdown.
And how about just I mean, look here it is
the extra point is good. So that's it. Forty two
to thirty eight. The Dolphins have come back with four
touchdown passes from tah in the fourth quarter to steal
(02:18:04):
this game from the Ravens. Look, we gotta scram We
are way past our break. But I'll just say this
to us. Played in big games his whole career. He
saw it at Alabama. He heard all the criticism this offseason.
What a start for this Miami Dolphins offense. Keep it
right here. More coming on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
(02:18:26):
Sol throw the same better than Mako. Go to Maco
dot Com for an online estimate today. This is Fox
Red Zone Radio and we've got the place that you
(02:18:46):
may have missed back control looking looking, rookie steps up,
fires touchdop, it's Waddle touchdown. Oh my gosh, to look
around and take back the wattle Water calling catch with
fourteen seconds left. Now back live to the studios of
(02:19:08):
Fox Sports Radio. This is Fox Red Soul Radio. That
was Dolphins Radio Network, and the Dolphins come all the
way back and beat the Ravens forty two to thirty
eight to a tongue of eye law through for four
hundred sixty nine yards and six touchdowns as he ultimately
(02:19:31):
outshines Lamar Jackson, who had a perfect pass rating for
much of the game, but it's simply was not enough.
Lamar Jackson three eighteen yards passing three scores, ran for
a hundred nineteen yards and a touchdown. But it is
Mike McDaniel and his Miami Dolphins that are sitting at
two and oh what a road comeback win against the
(02:19:52):
Ravens builds a ton of character for the Miami Dolphins.
Unbelievable effort by to Tyreek, Hilled, Jell and Waddle, and
we have have a score finally in this Falcons Rams game,
Rams on the board first Allen Robinson a one yard
touchdown reception from Matthew Stafford, just a quick corner route
for the score. They were forced feeding Higbee all the
(02:20:13):
way down the field. Extra point is good, so they
lead this game seven nothing in l a over the Falcons.
Now that wasn't the only exciting game exciting finish in
the early games. You also had a big comeback by
the Jets. He's back to pass looks trolls middle caught touchdown,
Garrett Wilson caught at his second touchdown, catch up again
(02:20:35):
and if the Jets kicked the extra point, they take
the lead. With twenty two seconds left and unbelievable collapse
by the Bronze in the last two minutes up the game,
Prissette takes the snap drops to throw looking fires down
the middle. Then it's picked off, intercepted, pickoff down the
middle by Ashton Davis, and the Jets are gonna beat
(02:20:58):
the Browns and the hull opener it shocking fashion. Yeah
you hear the Browns fans booing on that one. As
the Jets pulled this one out thirty one to thirty
Joe Flacco three seven yards passing and four touchdowns Joe
Flacco and they get the victory there. Sorry, big news here.
(02:21:21):
Trey Lance is down on the field. Jimmy Garoppolo is
warming up. It was a planned QB run and Trey
Lance took a big hit from a Seattle Seahawks defender
up the middle of the offensive formation and he was
writhing on the ground. Last of cameras had on him.
So the trainers are tending to him on the field
and at very least for the next play, it's gonna
(02:21:42):
be Jimmy g helming the offense for the forty Niners
as they're taking on the Seahawks at home. All right,
this is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio live from the
ti iraq dot com studios. Let's find out what is
trending right now. We got a lot of finals and
we got games that are just kicking off. Muncy is
all over it, right, all over it. Man. That was
a crazy game with Miami and the Ravens. I don't
(02:22:05):
know if Lamar's price just went down or what, because
it was going up Ravens defense. Oh man, that was
town from their defense, totally unbelieva unbelievable. Yeah, the Rams
are up on the Falcons. They're up seven zero less
than two minutes to go in the first quarter the
forty Niners. But like you just said, Rich, someth's going down.
(02:22:28):
Trey lances down. We'll see what happens. But they're by
a field goal on the Seahawks to when it happens
to go in the first quarter of that game. The
other games, so we got going on nobody on the scoreboard.
You have between the Cowboys and the Bengals, nobody on
the scoreboard. Yeah, between the Texans and the Broncos, and
the Cardinals and the Raiders also just got going nobody
on the scoreboard yet some of the games that have
already finished. In casey'all missed it, we just talked about
(02:22:50):
Miami coming back to beat the Ravens forty two to
thirty eight. Ta had six touchdown passes, tied for the
second most in the game in NFL history. He was
thirty six fifty for four hundred and six dat nine yards. Yeah,
the Jets came back to beat the Browns thirty one
to thirty. Uh. Kevin Durant tweeted, I feel hurt watching
that Cleveland game, tough loss. Jaguars dominated the Colts from
(02:23:12):
the beginning twenty four to zero. Trevor Lawrence through for
two hundred and thirty five yards and two touchdowns. The
Patriots beat the Steelers by a field goal seventeen to fourteen.
Mac Jones through for two d fifty two yards and
a touchdown. The Giants also beat the Panthers by a
field goal nineteen to sixteen. Lions beat the Commanders thirty
six to twenty seven. Jared Goff you mentioned four touchdowns
two hundred and fifty six yards and the Buccaneers in Saints.
(02:23:33):
They were tied at three going into the fourth quarter,
the Bucks one twenty to ten. Tom Brady eighteen of
thirty four for a hundred and ninety yards and one touchdown.
Jamis Winston, who was playing with four fractures in his back.
I mean, I don't even know how you handle that, really,
but he powered through. It just was not enough twenty
forty fourwo hundred and thirty six yards and a touchdown.
(02:23:54):
Now the Yankees are up on the Brewers, but no
more home runs by Judge still at fifty a. Still
no home run there either. Back to you guys. All right, Monsey,
and we have a stretcher on the field in this
forty Niners game. Yeah, Trey Lance is being carted off
the field an apparent lower body injury here. He can't
(02:24:16):
put any weight on his legs. We don't know what
the you're watching a replay of the injury he they
landed on his right leg. Yeah, I can't even speculate
right now, but it's serious enough where they brought the
cart on the field. Trey Lance is holding his head
(02:24:38):
right now and he's gonna get carted off the field.
So we were talking about the whole Tray Lance situation
with the forty Niners. He didn't play well last week
and their loss of the Bears. He gets uh injured
early in this game. We do not know his status.
As soon as we'll know about his status, will obviously
bring it to you. But that means Jimmy Garoppolo, who
(02:25:00):
they made essentially a last minute decision to keep Jimmy
Garoppolo on this roster, a man who's starting record as
the forty Niners quarterback is thirty five and sixteen, is
suddenly back in charge of this offense. Trey Lance with
a soft cast on his lower right leg is being
(02:25:21):
slowly carded off the field as San Francisco gets underway.
It's a third and six for the forty Niners here
at the Seattle Seahawks nineteen yard line and a complete pass,
but will bring up fourth down for the forty Niners offense.
Looks like they'll kick the field goal here alright, so
just underway by the way. Bengals, Cowboys, Texans, Broncos, Cardinals,
(02:25:43):
Raiders Bengals Cowboys. Of course, no Dak Prescott in this game.
Cooper Rush is at quarterback. Actually, he's got the ball
down to the nine yard line of the Bengals. Bengals
heads still have to be spinning about that loss last
week to Pittsburgh at home in a game in which
Joe Burrow through four interceptions in that game, the miss
extra point, the inter regulation that would have won at
(02:26:04):
the missfield goal, and overtime that would have won it.
They ended up with a loss at home against the Steelers,
and they'll the advantage of being a favorite on the
road against the Cowboys team without their starting quarterback. Yeah.
You know what's crazy about the Bengals is they just
still haven't figured out how to protect Joe Burrow. We
saw it in the postseason and well, did he hold
the ball too long? I always wonder about that. Well,
(02:26:25):
I mean, look, it's there's always a combination of things.
But offensive lineman your task to block them forever. That's
what you gotta do. And we have a touchdown Cowboys
Browns in the Cooper Rush pass. How about that opening
driving Already Cooper Rush has more touchdowns on the board
than Dak had all the last week would be zero.
(02:26:45):
So Cooper Rush it. Jerry Jones said, we are confident
that we can win with Cooper Rush. Great pass right there,
and the Cowboys on their opening drive get in the
end zone. Yeah yeah, wow that Look, it's uh, it
a different game obviously, you're playing against a different defense,
and you had a whole week to to look at
(02:27:06):
yourself and figure out what you did wrong and what
to improve in everybody can look good on their opening script.
You gotta play four quarters, though, but at least in
their opening drive, Noah Brown the receiving target on a
seventeen yard pass and a touchdown from Cooper Rush. All right. Uh.
Robbie Gold had just kicked the field goal for the
forty Niners. So two field goals there, and the forty
(02:27:29):
Niners have the early six nothing lead against the Seahawks. Meanwhile,
the Rams leading the Falcons by a score of seven
to nothing. Ramps, coming out that dreadful opening loss to
the Bills, had plenty of time to prepare for an
Atlanta team. The most people are picking as uh, sort
of one of the bottom feeders around the National Football League.
Matthew Stafford a perfect five for five forty eight yards
(02:27:50):
and a touchdown to Allan Robinson. Allen Robinson is a
key guy. Uh. They gotta get him in the offense
because he was missing an action in game one. Yeah,
and I'm glad to see that they got him involved early.
They singled them up on that passing touchdown reception that
he got on the Rams late first quarter drive there.
Las Vegas Raiders meanwhile, down in the low red zone,
(02:28:12):
six minutes fifty four seconds left on the clock in
the first quarter. Here Las Vegas playing the Arizona Cardinals
in Vegas, and it was Mac Hollins on a deep
Derek carr Uh reception who got them down inside the
ten yard line. So knocking on the door here against
Arizona who had a blowout lost to the Chiefs in
(02:28:34):
Week one. Yeah. Meanwhile, we've got the Broncos right now
taking on the Texans. And last week the Broncos out
gained Seattle four thirty three to two fifty three. They
dominated the stats, but it was turnovers. A couple of
turnovers in that game, and somehow they allowed Gino Smith
(02:28:54):
to come away with a victory in that game. Uh So,
the Broncos a key game against the Texans team that
continues to fly under the radar. They you know, Davis
Mills played well last year. No one really talked about
it on what was an otherwise bad team. We are
still shaking our head about Levy Smith's decision to go
for a tie last week. Uh So, they have no
losses so far, but this is this is one of
(02:29:17):
those early matches where if you're Denver Man, you need
to get a win right now. Need it, need it,
need it, need it. By the way. Um okay, So
Seattle take the field. After the Trey Lance injury and
the successful field goal from the San Francisco forty Niners,
Jimmy Garoppolo has taken over this forty Niners offense. Trey
(02:29:38):
Lance was carded off the field with an apparent lower
right leg injury. He was soft cacid and brought off
the field via cart. Jimmy Garoppolo through one pass and
a completion was absolutely leveled on the throw and the
San Francisco forty Niners after the field goal lead six
nothing at home hosting the Seahawks and Gino Smith uh
(02:29:59):
looking at first and ten for the Seahawks. Here hey
a couple of notes about Lamar Jackson's performance and that
studying loss to the Dolphins. Today, he had his eleventh
career one yard rushing day. That is a new NFL record,
breaking Michael Vicks record. There, he also became the first
player in the last twenty five years to have a
seventy five yard run and a seventy five yard passed
(02:30:21):
in the same game. It was also his sixth career
game with at least two hundred yards passing and a
hundred yards rushing. By the way, that's twice as many
as any other quarterback in NFL history. All this at home,
and they still lost this game in Miami. All right,
let's welcome in right now a very special guest, Jamal Dean,
Buccaneers cornerback had two interceptions today in the victory over
(02:30:45):
the New Orleans Saints. Jamal, great game. How you feeling
after that that road division win? You know, after amazing
knowing that great as a whole about composes and we
did like based just just doing from the first game, Jamal.
I mean, here's a team obviously with great expectations. You
(02:31:07):
got to go to quarterback. But were you surprised at
just how the defenses were dominating the game through pretty
much the whole game was breaking up? Yeah, we're talking
about how low scoring this game was for so long, Jamal.
Were you a little surprised it was a three or
three game well into the third quarter? I mean, yes,
(02:31:27):
I was. I was kind of surprised, But then again,
we were just waiting an opportunity, weren't just being tas
in there, and he started he started coming to us. Yeah,
no question about it. Jamis. Winston throws three interceptions, one
pick six. One of your teammates was a benefactor of that,
but you're an integral part of this victory on the road.
How loud of an environment was it in in the
(02:31:48):
dome there? I mean it just looked like a raucous
environment on the road in division for the first time
this season for you guys, you know the state. It
was real. It was rocking, like like mabe like almost
like the last two minutes of the game definitely like
they started quiet down, so you know, it was it
was it was like it was a nice environment to
(02:32:10):
be a part of an experience. Hey, one more Jamal
from you. Obviously a couple of years ago, you got
yourself fitted with a nice fat Super Bowl ring and
you've got Tom Brady a quarterback. But there's been a
lot of offseason noise, noise, some question about is Tampa
still in the same place they've been in the last
couple of years. Obviously you're on that team. Gives a
(02:32:31):
little a sense of the mindset as you guys start
this season two and oh, you know, we just got
taking one game at a time. We just we see
what we're kicking and we played as a whole, play
as a hole. So that's really we just we just
have to continue this momento as we go out goes
through the whole year. Well, Jamal, excellent game, fun watch
(02:32:53):
for us here in the Fox Sports Radio studios. Good
luck the rest of the way. You get to host
the Packers coming up next. Maybe grab a pick for
Aaron Rod Juice, appreciate a congratsman. There he is Jamal Dean.
Two interceptions today in that Tampa twenty to ten win
against the New Orleans Saints. All right, we roll on,
(02:33:14):
continuing on as we got five games going on right now,
we had seven earlier. The action never stops. Keep it
right here. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. This
is Fox Red Zone Radio, and we've got the place
that you may have missed. Stafford stands up, froze the fate,
(02:33:36):
A rob put the touch down. Cloth J Terrell is
coverage touch down, a raw cut down away. Now back
live to the studios of Fox Sports Radio. This is
Fox Red Zone Radio. Now was Rams Radio Network with
(02:34:01):
the early seven notting lead on. The Rams have just
scored again on a Darryl Henderson run. So thirteen nothing
Rams right now penning the extra point nine and a
half minutes to go on the second quarter. Matthew Stafford,
so far a perfect eighth or eight seventy one yards
and a touchdown. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
We are live from the tire rack dot Com studios.
(02:34:24):
And of course this show which is craziness every single Sunday.
Not possible without everybody's help. I was Sam enjoying the
pizza today, enjoying the action, joining a little bit more,
a little more calm today. Well we had nine games
early last week, it was only seven today. Made a
little bit easier finishes though today Monter doing a brilliant
(02:34:47):
job today is always not easy. Got a lot of
scores he catch up on, and she's been. I think
the pizza is what made it just so much easier. Really,
it was the food. It was food. So we just
need a half pizza at all times. Steve, you're the
m v P this week. Four pies for the Fox pork,
a lot of pie to take home, guys. And I
(02:35:09):
know that Ryan are a brilliant producer, is gonna be
taking home some of that pizza. Guy, are your lady right?
She likes the New York Sto pizza. He actually carries
aluminum foil in his pockets, so he's ready at all times. Well,
well deserved everybody here and yet this new edition. So
the Rams they get extra point there, fourteen nothing in
(02:35:29):
their game mean, while the Las Vegas Raiders getting on
the board with a touchdown past two. Oh yeah, Davante
Adams um to say that he's gonna have an impact
on the Raiders is an understatement. But this is an
interesting game here. You got the Cardinals who looked awful
in Week one, and by the way, how about the
whole NFC West Week one Rams were terrible, Niners were terrible,
(02:35:53):
Cardinals were terrible, and the Seahawks stole one against the Broncos.
So for one week, the Seahawks undisputed first place in
the NFC West. By the way, as we were speaking,
Jimmy Garoppolo on his second drive after taking over for
the injured Tray Lance finds ross Welly for a touchdown reception,
and so forty Niners are back to looking like the
(02:36:15):
forty Niners of yesteryear. Right, Jimmy G's at the helm.
Everything seems to be going smoothly against division rivals. Yeah,
Jimmy t is four for four, seventy yards and a touchdown,
and it's like, okay, what Trey Lands did that happen?
Because let me ask you this, though, Let's Jimmy off
to a perfect start here, literally four for four or
(02:36:36):
seventy yards and a touchdown. I mean, if he comes
out with a dynamite game. And let's say you got
Trey Lance out for a couple of games. We don't
know anything about the extent of his injury yet, but
let's say he's out for several weeks and Jimmy Garoppolo
is just rattling off w one after another. Yeah, yeah,
you're gonna You're gonna pull him to put Tray Lance
back in. Look again, I don't want to speculate, but
(02:36:59):
when you bring out a heart and you you apply
a soft cast to the lower leg, it's probably gonna
be a longer term injury than just a couple of weeks.
But we'll see. To answer your question, if this team
is rolling with Jimmy g and virtually he started the
season for you, no, you're not going to replace him.
It'll be Trey Lance on the bench backing him up
(02:37:19):
if he's even available to do so. As we're talking,
the Broncos in the end zone will account Is it good? Touchdown? Denver?
They score first over the Houston Texans they're hosting today,
five forty three left on the clock. Courtland Sutton comes
down with the Russell Wilson fade catch on the t
(02:37:40):
D reception. All right, let's get that Raider touchdown in car.
Look like he poppled the snap, throws the slat He's
Todd touchdown Adams. He bobbled the snap, got it off anyway.
And for the second straight week, Savante Adams has a
silver and black touchdown Raider Nation Raid oh nine twenty
(02:38:01):
a m. So the Raiders get on the board quickly
there against the Arizona Cardinals. And again, I just keep
getting back to this Jimmy Garoppolos situation about what Kyle
Shanahan's record is when he started a quarterback as opposed
to when he's not starting at quarterback. It's literally night
and day. The only question about Jimmy Garoppolo and going
(02:38:23):
back and again going for Trey Lance in the draft
is that he was coming off another injury riddled season.
He's only really had two healthy seasons. One of those
seasons he took a teams to the Super Bowl, the
other teams to the NFC Championship Game. And let's be
honest here, if adamant for a dropped interception at NFC
(02:38:43):
Championship Game and maybe a few inches on a touchdown,
he might have two Super Bowl rings. Right now. I mean,
Garoppolo could literally have had two Super Bowl rings. Yeah,
as the forty Niners starting quarterback, but they decided to
mortgage a lot of draft capital for a kid with
one year starting experience at the FCS level. Listen, you
(02:39:06):
know I'm not saying it's a mistake, not yet. We
have no idea. We're talking about a completely unproven quantity
at the NFL level. But as was a huge complaint
for Jimmy Garoppolo during his time as the forty Niners
starting quarterback, availability is your most important ability. The only
issue with Jimmy Garoppolo outside of his lower ceiling than
(02:39:30):
potentially Trey Lance we don't know yet, was the fact
that he was often injured and uh and so yeah,
well we'll see how We'll see how it all unfolds
in the Bay Area this season. I mean, a rough
start for Trey Lance on the road, but a lot
of excuses being made because of the weather that he
was facing in Chicago in his first start. But Jimmy
Garoppolo right now is your quarterback and that will continue
(02:39:53):
to be the case until we get an update on
Trey Lance. And I don't necessarily think that's a bad
thing because, as you laid out, he's been win healthy,
a very capable leader of this offense, one of the
few quarterbacks in NFL history to have a winning percentage
over seven hundred. Uh. Cowboys leading in the Bengals seven
or three. Bengals did get a field goal. Uh, so far,
(02:40:14):
Joe Burrow is perfect passing the ball three for three
thirty four yards coming out that four interception game against
the Steelers. Cooper Rush is throwing the ball extremely well
for the Cowboys at the outset of this game six
and seven seventy yards and a score. And even before
the injury did Dak Prescott. We've been talking about Dak
ever since he came back from that injury of a
(02:40:35):
year ago or two years now, where he didn't really
look like the same quarterback last year as he did
the year before the injury, and had obviously a rough
opening game before going down with that injury. So this
this is definitely a Cowboys team that's in limbo right now. Yeah. Well,
Mike McCarthy needs wins. Uh. You know, Jerry Jones demands it,
(02:40:55):
and I don't think there's much leash left there in Dallas.
We have plenty of leash left air. For your continuing
NFL coverage, keep it right here. This is Fox Sports
Red Zone Radio.
