This is the best of Stu Gotson Company Live on
Fox Sports.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
Radio, Taylor, please put it on the poll at Stegott
seven ninety on x Odell Beckham Junior one Moment Hall
of Fame.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Wow, Yeah for sure.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Yeah, I mean name a second when he kicked that
net Yeah on a boat boat Yeah yeah eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox. She Serrano going to join
us at around fours twenty h He's a Spurs fan,
Nixon Spurs. It's amazing the NFL is he because you
have an NBA Finals that includes market number one in
(00:51):
New York, the Games and maybe sports biggest star right
now in Wemby, and the NFL just takes over whenever
the NAE feels like taking over. Because the Rams decided
to trade for Miles Garrett today.
Speaker 4 (01:04):
Transactions in themselves are always exciting, right, but then you
get a name like Miles Garrett and you're like, all right,
where could he go? That's gonna be Oh the La Rams, Okay,
the team that always gets these free agents, the team
that always kicks there, you know, picks draft picks to
the curb and says, we're in this to win it
every single year. And they just put together this team
(01:26):
with one player that you're just like, all right, super
Bowl's over.
Speaker 5 (01:29):
If they all stay healthy, they're gonna win it.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Taylor put it on the pole. Do the Rams lead
the league and going all in? I mean, this team
does not care about draft picks. They don't care about anything.
Here's the beauty of today's trade and getting Miles Garrett,
who's a two time Defensive Player of the Year. The
beauty is, do I have something on my mouth?
Speaker 5 (01:46):
Be subtle about it.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
I took a bite of a sandwich right before we
got started. Here here's the beauty of it. They already
got their quarterback to replace Matthew Stafford. It's hy Simpson,
and man, it's gonna be funny if they don't win
this year and Miles Garrett is just.
Speaker 5 (01:59):
Stuck there, Ty Simpson.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
But they already got their quarterback, and they traded away
their pick in next year's draft, their first round pick,
and that's the draft where everyone's kind of gearing up
because it's a great quarterback class. They have theirs, it's
Ty Simpson. When Stafford's done, they go to Simpson. Would
they get for that twenty seven pick? They got the
best defensive ended football. It is crazy. They are running
their organization exactly the way Eddie football fan would want
(02:25):
their team to run that organization.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
It is funny, though, you did put out the possibility
right there of if let's just say this is how
important the quarterbacks are. Right, if Matt Stafford for some
reason has a huge fall off, right, he's a little older,
obviously whatever, not as good as he was, and then
Ty Simpson turns out to not be the guy. Right,
Miles Garrett is just in hell, it's just absolutely not
happy with the situation.
Speaker 5 (02:47):
Might as well be back in Cleveland.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
Yeah, Stu Gotts, you know what I think?
Speaker 5 (02:50):
This is what this is?
Speaker 6 (02:52):
Stan Kronkie, the Rams owner, Kronkynkey.
Speaker 5 (02:56):
Cronky just put it on right there with Walter Cronkite.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
All right, where I'm from, we say cronkye yes, yeah,
the New York accent.
Speaker 7 (03:03):
I get it.
Speaker 6 (03:03):
So stay Kronky loses the Champions League final he's the
Arsenal owner. Yes, against PSG this past weekend, and I
think in an enraged state, he was like, I gotta
get something, Yeah, to get me over this Champions League loss.
What's going to get me over it?
Speaker 7 (03:19):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (03:19):
The best defensive player in all football.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
He needed a win, That's what he's saying. He was
coming off a rough weekend. I need some feel good.
I need a w Someone go trade for Miles Garrett.
Speaker 5 (03:28):
Yep, I mean they got the pkse.
Speaker 7 (03:29):
I am with you on Kronkye I am. I mean.
Speaker 8 (03:33):
It's that Denzel clip with jo I'm leaving here with something.
I'm from round Away. I'm leaving here with something. He's like,
you know what I'm taking Miles Garrett.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Yes, but Mikey, how frustrating is it for you as
a Jet fan and for me to see an organization
run correctly.
Speaker 7 (03:47):
It's unbelievable.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
Less need is an animal.
Speaker 9 (03:51):
I mean, we have been told so long by so
many people. Thirty one organizations are all, hey, if you're
gonna build a championship team, if you're gonna build something,
you gotta build it through the draft. And the Rams
are like, no, we're not gonna and you can't make us.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
It's almost like all you need is a very aggressive coach, right,
he has that personality and he's good, and he just
sort of forces that into the GM.
Speaker 5 (04:17):
It's like, hey, win.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
Now all the time, and then just do that for
every organization and see what happens.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
Yes, what's funny about it is I'm not certain the
Rams weren't the favorite out of the NFC without Miles Gary.
Speaker 7 (04:28):
I mean, I mean, yeah, the Seahawks.
Speaker 5 (04:30):
Have to be pretty ticked off right now because this
came out of lift.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
I mean, they're fine, They're coming off a Super Bowl
winning season, so it's kind of a house money year
coming up for that.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
Okay, then the forty nine ers have to be pretty
ticked off because they thought they could hang in that division.
Speaker 7 (04:41):
I think the rest of.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
The league is just pissed off and they're like, how
does Lesonie do this?
Speaker 7 (04:45):
I mean, go ahead, Mikey.
Speaker 8 (04:48):
There's nobody more ticked off than Jared Verse.
Speaker 9 (04:50):
Right, there's nobody who's as upset today as the person
who was traded from the Los Angeles Rams to the
Cleveland Browns.
Speaker 8 (04:59):
To play Smiles Garrett.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
Yeah, that's terrible for Vers, So go ahead.
Speaker 6 (05:04):
I actually have a stat about Jared Verse. The last
time the Rams traded a Jared for a star player,
they won a Super Bowl the next season.
Speaker 5 (05:13):
Wow, so he's going to be even more upset.
Speaker 6 (05:15):
Yes, no, this is now telling you go in and
get those Rams super Bowl tickets in because they traded
Jared Goff. Yeah, they got Matthew Stafford. They meet the
Bengals in the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
Can you check the FanDuel lines on the Rams to
make it out of the NFC and to win the
Super Bowl. I just want to see where they're at
right now.
Speaker 7 (05:33):
They have to be the prof.
Speaker 4 (05:35):
Can we talk to somebody who bet them just before
the Miles Garret trade to find out what that number was?
Speaker 1 (05:40):
That person would be Bear. I mean that's what he was,
seven hundred.
Speaker 7 (05:44):
That's it. That's what Felika does.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
Dan Bayer is back from a golf vacation. He's always
when he's not here, he's golfing. Dan Watson Child, Man, here,
what do you got Dan?
Speaker 10 (05:54):
Yeah, guys based in southern California, we kind of know this,
but there is a less need motto when it comes
to trading.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
He can only be Jared.
Speaker 7 (06:06):
Damn.
Speaker 6 (06:07):
I'm curious termino our LA correspondent. How long do you
think you would have to go around La before you
found a Rams fan that was actually interested in this
Miles Garret trade.
Speaker 10 (06:19):
Probably about two hours and that's about a half mile
in traffic.
Speaker 7 (06:23):
But yeah, it's a yeah, yeah, at least a couple
hours for.
Speaker 4 (06:26):
Sure, Believe it or not. I actually know somebody who
has a Jared Verse jersey. Get out of Here's where
all my life?
Speaker 7 (06:32):
Really? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (06:33):
Well, I mean it's a rough.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
Day for them as well.
Speaker 5 (06:35):
Yeah, well I just got it.
Speaker 4 (06:37):
It's more of a Jared Verse fan than it is
any team, right, so you could just get a new one.
Speaker 7 (06:41):
What an odd jersey to purchase.
Speaker 5 (06:42):
I know I can tell you why, but the audience
doesn't really need to hear that.
Speaker 7 (06:46):
I mean, we're here, you might as well.
Speaker 4 (06:48):
Okay, oh you know what, Happy Pride. He's a gay
man Versus short for versatile Verse. He was announcing himself
on the back of his jersey.
Speaker 7 (06:56):
There you go. All right, Well.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
You asked for that too.
Speaker 7 (07:00):
It's on me.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
I am for the rare time is He's always asked
the follow ups, and I asked one too many as
someone mister follow up doesn't want to give it to you.
Speaker 8 (07:11):
Yes, take the hand.
Speaker 7 (07:12):
I know you're right.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I apologize. You guys are right,
I'm wrong.
Speaker 7 (07:17):
Go ahead to Tyler.
Speaker 6 (07:18):
I think the biggest loser from this trade today. If
I'm Jacoby Brissett and I'm holding out, I'm holding out
for even more now because it's like, oh, you want
me to sign this contract, be on a terrible team,
and now Miles Garrett is across from me two times
a year. Yeah, yeah, yesterday's price is not today's.
Speaker 7 (07:37):
Prices just went up. You're right.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
I think the person most upset about this, and it's
not a person, it's a league is the NBA.
Speaker 7 (07:43):
I means.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
They finally got a finals that they are very much
looking forward to. And the Knicks and the Spurs and
the Rams have dominated the headlines that it's funny. On ESPN,
you watch all the basketball analysts. They left the premises
and they called in all the football guys to come
in and break down the trade.
Speaker 7 (08:04):
So a good day for Tim a.
Speaker 5 (08:05):
Che This is Wemby's newest challenge. Okay, this is what Wemby.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
Should take it personally every Sunday during the NFL just
live stream something spectacular to get everybody's.
Speaker 5 (08:16):
Eyes away from the NF.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
So you're wondering, how can Wemby steal back the headlines today? Right,
because so far I think he can do anything. Well,
if anyone could do it, it's him. Wemby could steal
the headlines back today, and those things mean something to hit.
He wants the headlines back, and if he wants to back,
I'll get him.
Speaker 5 (08:31):
The most old school new school player.
Speaker 6 (08:33):
I've ever seen, how I'm imagining ESPN looks right now.
Tim bontem sits down for a hit. Yeah, and then
they they somebody like comes and cartoon punts him out
of the set and be like Jeff Darlington come on.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
In right, and all the NFL guys they were on
the golf course like Dan Byer thinking, hey, NBA Finals
right around the corner. I'm on Easy Street right now.
And then less need well he breaks everything.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
Somebody get Jeremy Fowler.
Speaker 7 (09:01):
And they can't find him.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
No one can find anyone at Schefter's just always there,
regardless of what's going on. He's just hanging around somewhere
at ESPN. Yes, that everybody probably already taped their AJ
Brown reaction to New England before they left for vacation.
Speaker 7 (09:15):
No one planned for this.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
Right, we all we all thought June first was AJ
Brown Day and it's not.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
The Rams Day.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
Could have happened two days from now, during game or
right before Game one of the Finals.
Speaker 5 (09:28):
At least we have some time to digest it.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
I'm surprised they didn't. Wait, I mean, go ahead, Mike.
Speaker 8 (09:33):
AJ Brown dropped the ball?
Speaker 1 (09:35):
Yeah, are we expecting that to happen today? I did
the Unbuttoned podcast with Chris Simms, and he said, without hesitation,
as if it's a done deal.
Speaker 7 (09:46):
AJ Brown is going.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
To the Patriots, and if the NFL is smart, they
will save that for tomorrow and steal more headlines away
from the NBA. I mean, but do we know if
that's Like, do you guys think that's a done deal?
Speaker 7 (09:58):
AJ Brown to the Patriots? I think it is.
Speaker 5 (10:00):
We thought it was.
Speaker 6 (10:01):
Yeah, the only thing I'm seeing on Twitter right now.
Jordan Schultz said details are still being finalized, but the
expected deal is still on track to happen. It would
be AJ Brown to New England for a twenty twenty
eight first round pick.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Jeez is he as someone who was out last week
suffering from Nick's fatigue.
Speaker 7 (10:19):
Are you happy about this news or that's what it was.
Speaker 5 (10:22):
Let's kind of figure out what I caught. Am I
happy about?
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Which news?
Speaker 5 (10:26):
The Miles Garrett news.
Speaker 7 (10:27):
Yeah, the fact that we're not talking about the Knicks.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
I mean, I mean, any reason to not have to
watch Cleveland Browns football. Yes, I'm all about so he
was the only reason I wanted to watch them at
any point.
Speaker 5 (10:38):
I do think a lot.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
Like the prospect of the Spurs being a dynasty. It's
good for football to have a team right at the top,
even if they're not a dynasty, a team that you're
aiming for that feels like the Evil Empire because they
kind of do give off a little bit of Yankees vibes.
Speaker 7 (10:54):
Right.
Speaker 4 (10:54):
We can go get whoever we want, when we want,
and we'll be in the mix every single time. So
for me, I think that's a good thing, especially for
a guy that literally does not have a dog in
the race because I'm a Dolphins fan.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
Yes, the Rams have to win it. Like Stafford's window
is closing. It might be his last year, last year,
make it fifty one and a half million dollars a year,
but they have to win it this year. You don't
make that move if you're not expecting to win it
this year, right, I mean you have to.
Speaker 5 (11:16):
I think so.
Speaker 4 (11:17):
I think it's not only just like, hey, if this
is your last year, we got to put together this
super team and we know we can win with you,
so let's just make sure we have the pieces.
Speaker 5 (11:25):
I think it's a great way to go.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
The strangest thing about the NFL, and this would be
ridiculous if it happened, but I guess we shouldn't be
surprised if.
Speaker 7 (11:33):
The Browns had a better year than the Rams.
Speaker 5 (11:36):
I mean, you never know.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
I mean no, in that league, you actually never know
what if Stafford gets hurt.
Speaker 5 (11:42):
You know, some teams, you know.
Speaker 6 (11:43):
Yeah, we have a very strong idea like Todd Mounkin.
Nobody gives off I'm gonna win less than twelve games
in two years and be on the first plane out
of Cleveland more than Todd Monkin.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
It still was a Browns fan, he would not have
any faith in the Browns. But because if you were
to say the same thing about the Jets right now, Hey,
there's a chance that Jets could have a better season
than the Rams next year.
Speaker 5 (12:03):
You're gonna think that's true.
Speaker 7 (12:05):
Probably not.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
I'm just saying the Rams are in a really difficult division,
and maybe they don't make the playoffs because they're in
that difficult division and the Browns get in at like
you know, I don't know, they get in at nine
and eight because their division isn't nearly as good. I'm
just saying it wouldn't.
Speaker 7 (12:23):
Be like I guess, it would be insane.
Speaker 4 (12:26):
When you lose your best player and all of a
sudden improved multiple Yes.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
All Right, we have a Matt Rushmore Monday coming up.
We'll do that in the next segment. Chase Serrano going
to join us. He's a Spurs fan. He'll join us
at around four to twenty. Looking forward to that Nixon
Spurs NBA Finals tail Taylor and is he have a
playoff softball game that we'll get to in just a second,
and Taylor wants to talk about cheating go ahead?
Speaker 4 (13:25):
Is my question for you, just because this is right
up your alley in terms of how you know people think,
all right, yes, do you believe that those ninety nine
Knicks that are there all you know, all these games
are getting celebrated. Wow, it's the last time he made
it to the finals. Do you think they want the
Knicks to actually win the finals?
Speaker 1 (13:43):
It's a great question. You're doing the thing that I
always do. Will these guys be rooting for the Knicks
to win a title?
Speaker 7 (13:48):
If they win a.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
Title, no one we'll remember or ever mention the nineteen
ninety nine team again.
Speaker 4 (13:53):
Because right now those guys are God, that's the last
time we've gotten to the finals. Now, if somebody surpasses
that and beats Victor Yama in the process, like heck,
I'm thinking Clyde Frazier's probably wondering, man, maybe they shouldn't
win this.
Speaker 7 (14:04):
Yes, how do you guys feel about that?
Speaker 1 (14:06):
Mikey Aya, the ninety nine Knicks really rooting for this
year's next to win an NBA title.
Speaker 7 (14:14):
Oh, we can't hear you.
Speaker 8 (14:15):
I'll do it.
Speaker 5 (14:16):
We got you, all right now, we got you? Yes,
all right, there you go.
Speaker 9 (14:19):
I tell you, it'll be really hard for them to
get one of those one tables if this team wins.
Speaker 6 (14:25):
First off, it doesn't matter when you played for the Knicks,
It doesn't matter if you want a tyler or not.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
People love you regardless.
Speaker 6 (14:31):
One person that I know is rooting for them to
win from that ninety nine team, Rick Brunson.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
Yeah, well, I mean, come on, his son is playing there.
You think Patrick Ewing is rooting off the Knicks Mount Rushmore.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
I think latrell' spree well is like, yeah, make Jalen
Brunton the most famous Nick of all time.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
Yes, Jalen brunt is already ahead of Latrell Spreewall.
Speaker 6 (14:50):
He yeh.
Speaker 4 (14:50):
But you know in Latrell's mind he's ahead of everyone,
he really is.
Speaker 6 (14:55):
These former Knicks love this Knicks team so much. There
was one point in the series, the last series against Cleveland,
where John Starks is basically on the court playing defense
against James Harden as they are inbounding the basketball.
Speaker 4 (15:08):
Right, didn't have to do much Starks and John Starks
is one who should not be cheering for Jalen Brunton either,
because he wasn't even like a great, great player, but
he's a beloved nick And now that they're gonna win one,
after thought.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
I made a mistake earlier, I said. Taylor wants to
talk about cheating. He does, and he wants to talk
about lying. Right, what's the difference in the same category
under the same umbrella. Taylor believes he has a nominee
for what people lie the most about as it relates
to sports, And I can't wait to hear this.
Speaker 6 (15:35):
Go ahead, Dyla, Yeah, I don't even think it's just
sports related, but people with their golf handicaps. It has
gotten so out of control. Yes, I'm doing right now,
a lesson early in the week and around later in
the week because I'm really trying to get good at golf.
And I get paired up with this guy. He says,
I'm a seven handicap. I'm my guy I'm like, wow,
(15:56):
this guy is going to be pretty good.
Speaker 3 (15:58):
Stue.
Speaker 6 (15:59):
He could not get off the tea box. Yeah, and
he's giving himself like ten feet putts. I'm like, dad,
here with your seven handicap, I just started playing, and
I'm significantly better than you.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
Wait, so he would have ten feet, you would have
ten feet. He would look at you and say good good.
Speaker 7 (16:13):
I mean he.
Speaker 6 (16:14):
Would look at me and be like, I'm just gonna
pick up and I'm like wait what and he's like, yeah,
just put me.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
Down for a bogie.
Speaker 7 (16:20):
Right.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
Wait, that was your ninth shot on this par three.
Speaker 4 (16:23):
Yes, when you say he can't get out of the
tea box, can you just work that jargon for me?
Speaker 5 (16:27):
Does that mean he's literally not hitting the ball.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
So wait, hold on, Taylor, if I may here, because
a seven handicap should be hitting it like two eighty
to three hundred right down the middle of the fair
way every single time he teas off. And what Taylor
saying is this guy had a hard problem just getting
it like I don't know, fifty to one hundred yards
right exactly.
Speaker 6 (16:45):
Yeah, Like this guy he was shaking every drive off
the tee like he was going out of bounds. He
was spraying it left and right. This guy was terrible.
Speaker 5 (16:54):
Dude, I'm a seven handicap then, because that sounds like me.
Speaker 7 (16:56):
Yeah, good good, let me get stel.
Speaker 5 (16:58):
He just didn't have it that day, just didn't have
it today.
Speaker 6 (17:02):
I don't even want to give him that benefit of
the doubt that he was horrific.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
Wait, so, Dan, do you agree with Taylor on this?
This is the thing that people lie the most about
in sports is their handicap. Because I think I'm with them.
Speaker 7 (17:14):
Yeah, I agree with that absolutely. What's your handicap? I seventeen? Yes, okay, good,
all right? I set mine higher.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
I fudged my handicap in order to get more strokes
on the course.
Speaker 7 (17:25):
I did that the Greenie once. Yeah. I took him
for like two hundred bucks.
Speaker 5 (17:28):
It was great shot in the eighties and nineties. This
past week, it's what it was, Taylor.
Speaker 4 (17:32):
Is this a Tahoe thing where you want to go
out there and not be embarrassed or you want to
go out there and just absolutely show off.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
We don't play in Tahoe.
Speaker 5 (17:40):
I thought you played a little bit.
Speaker 6 (17:41):
Now we don't make the lit. We could play at
another course in Tahoe in our free time, but all
my free time is spent trying to chase Colin Jos.
Speaker 7 (17:50):
Yes, well, talking to Vince Carter.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
We could play in the celebrity program the Thursday before
the tournament, Taylor, We've been invited.
Speaker 7 (17:57):
Do you like to do that?
Speaker 6 (17:58):
Not?
Speaker 7 (17:58):
We?
Speaker 6 (17:59):
Well, I can, yeah, I could carry your bag. Let
me go, let me go get my conditioning in right
now to caddy.
Speaker 7 (18:04):
For you'd be fun if you caddy for you? Can
we do that?
Speaker 5 (18:06):
What do you mean? No?
Speaker 7 (18:08):
Ih? Caddy for you? Will you?
Speaker 1 (18:10):
You just want to go so bit.
Speaker 5 (18:11):
Don't want to play golf. I'll do anything but.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
Play Dan a seven handicap, right? What is a seven
handicap shooting?
Speaker 7 (18:19):
Like?
Speaker 1 (18:20):
Every time they go out and play go?
Speaker 10 (18:21):
Yeah, I think you're shooting around seventy eight, seventy nine.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
Taylor, what your guys shoot?
Speaker 6 (18:28):
He says, he shot it like an eighty two. Well
I counted him for at least one point fifty.
Speaker 7 (18:35):
Liar, he didn't take a single butt.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Godson Company Live.
Wheakda said three pm Eastern, twelve pm Pacific.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
Shay Serrano gonna join us at about fifteen minutes. We'll
update Chris Simms's quarterback rankings.
Speaker 7 (18:54):
As well later this hour.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
But it is a Mount Rushmore Monday here, and that
means we have to get to a Mount Rushmore. I
have no idea what the topic is, I don't know
the order. I'm wildly uncomfortable. I'm glad Dan is back.
He always has great contributions for this segment. But let's
get to it right now. Iowas him.
Speaker 7 (19:14):
Thank you there.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
Yeah, you the guy with the spreadsheet pretending to work.
Do you find yourself needing up, picking up as you're
dragging in your.
Speaker 8 (19:24):
Cubicle start the week?
Speaker 2 (19:27):
Are you ready to put the sports back in sports talk? Well,
then you're in luck because every Monday we climb the mountain,
we call the legends, and we argue about things hand
the truth you can't handle the truth that absolutely do
not matter and are completely subjective. This is Mount Rushmore
(19:51):
Monday Monday.
Speaker 7 (19:55):
So overproduced.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
But I love it when Frager comes back on your
television screen on the top right screen right there. Tell
me they didn't just pull Peter Schreger off a beach somewhere. Okay,
all right, I mean I'm telling you right I had
no idea he was gonna work today. Same with Mina.
Everyone's upset. Marcus Spears is in. I mean the whole
NFL crew. They thought they had a month off.
Speaker 7 (20:15):
Check Ot Sregor. Is he telling all right?
Speaker 1 (20:17):
What is the Mount Rushmore topic? And what's the order here?
Speaker 7 (20:21):
Taylor?
Speaker 6 (20:22):
So mikey A picked the topic? Okay, because mikey A
is the defending champ. You guys, you guys undercut me
and started that rule a couple of weeks ago, the
best free agency signings ever. Mike picked the topic. Yes, uh,
and the draft order was randomized. It's meat picking first, Isy,
Mikey third, Stu gots fourth, and then it sneaks back
(20:43):
around to the snake himself.
Speaker 7 (20:45):
Stu goat check at Sreger, thank you?
Speaker 5 (20:47):
Which one is right there?
Speaker 7 (20:48):
Right all the way right?
Speaker 4 (20:50):
Yeah, it does look like a little sun kissed and
he's probably wearing swim trunks underneath that suit jacket.
Speaker 7 (20:58):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (20:58):
So I'm looking at the draft board with the number
one pick. I have a clear one one here.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
Wait, hold on a second, tailor you're not going to
take it.
Speaker 7 (21:06):
Dan, Is there a golden goose here for you?
Speaker 1 (21:08):
Yes?
Speaker 7 (21:08):
There is, Yes, this is very exciting to ticket.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Oh, I call it a goose from me here four shows,
un button podcasts.
Speaker 8 (21:18):
I had it a magic selection.
Speaker 7 (21:19):
Whatever, it doesn't matter. Call what you want.
Speaker 5 (21:21):
I mean, all right, so we've got one.
Speaker 7 (21:24):
I go ahead, tell you were saying.
Speaker 6 (21:26):
My first pick Shaquille O'Neill signing with the Lakers, one
of the most dominant runs, a dominant three pat best
player on those championship teams.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
Shocked to the Lakers, all right, that you have shocked me,
Taylor Hippolis shack because that to me is shocking and
shocked me shocking because that, to me, that was immediately
when I heard the topic, I was like, oh, that's
got to be my number one.
Speaker 5 (21:50):
Then I started going down the list and I'm just like, man,
there's a lot of good options.
Speaker 4 (21:54):
But that was still hanging up there as number one,
not only because he won three championship with the Lakers,
but it was so shocking, like he just first chance available,
I'm just gonna go to the Lakers, And it was
like wow, So man, that kind of throws me for
a loop here.
Speaker 7 (22:07):
Really, I mean, you have the second pick.
Speaker 5 (22:09):
I know, I know, but there's a lot of options.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
I'm just gonna go, man, I think Shaq was the
right answer because it resulted in three championships for that team.
Speaker 5 (22:17):
I'm gonna have to go with Lebron James to the heat,
of course.
Speaker 7 (22:21):
I mean, we all knew he is.
Speaker 5 (22:23):
They have Homer, he had a TV show just for
this decision.
Speaker 7 (22:30):
We all knew the pick is.
Speaker 5 (22:31):
You can hear the sickness in my laugh.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
By the way, Taylor, who'd you take again?
Speaker 3 (22:36):
I took Shack to l as he took Lebron to Miami.
Speaker 1 (22:39):
If he left Shack or is he is, he still
would have taken Lebron James.
Speaker 7 (22:47):
All right, Mikey, who you got here? Is?
Speaker 8 (22:49):
He's hoping like hell Bosh comes back? I am, I
was kind of hoping for one of those. I think
I'm gonna go with.
Speaker 9 (23:00):
Nobody changed to franchise more when they signed there than
Drew Brees with the New Orleans Saints.
Speaker 7 (23:05):
Yeah, that's pretty good.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
I have someone who did change their franchise more at
number four. That would be Tom Brady to the Buccaneers.
Speaker 5 (23:14):
That one year.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
You know, well, they produced a Super Bowl. I mean
that team was lousy before he got there. He leaves
the Patriots, he goes to the Bucks and they went
to Super.
Speaker 8 (23:24):
Bowl that year.
Speaker 5 (23:26):
That gets you name on.
Speaker 8 (23:27):
My list to get it in the fourth round.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
Yeah, well fifth, I jumped on it early.
Speaker 8 (23:32):
Is that what I think?
Speaker 3 (23:34):
I think you got value?
Speaker 7 (23:35):
Stip. Okay, all right, well I appreciate on my.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
Board right now for the top five have been taken, Steve.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Got to go again there, Yep, I'm gonna go. This
is a tough one. I'm choosing between baseball players here.
I'm gonna go Barry Bonds to the San Francisco Giants.
He was great with the Pirates. He was a Hall
of Famer first ballot. He was the greatest player I
had ever seen before the steroids. Then he got to
the Giants. It took his game to a whole new level.
Speaker 4 (24:02):
So for me, Barry Bonbridian Bonds sounds like a good mountain.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
All those worlds, shoul I should be winning.
Speaker 9 (24:10):
I'm gonna take another baseball player. I'm going to take
a current baseball player. I'm gonna take Sime.
Speaker 7 (24:18):
Show was going to.
Speaker 5 (24:21):
Be honest, what mister baseball.
Speaker 8 (24:27):
Al that's a good pick. Usually you got words for me.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
It's a great pick.
Speaker 7 (24:31):
It is a great pick.
Speaker 6 (24:32):
I have sixteen I'm seventeen things written down here, and
for some reason, I just completely forgot you.
Speaker 7 (24:37):
Tony.
Speaker 4 (24:38):
I have a question about international soccer doesn't count.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
It's a transfer, it doesn't Answering my question, I'd like
to uh, I'd like to have Tail to read all
seventeen things he has written down.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
At the end, I could all right.
Speaker 7 (24:52):
Who's up here?
Speaker 5 (24:53):
It's going to be me.
Speaker 4 (24:54):
And my only hesitation here is that I don't want
to pick another NBA player right away, but in terms
of immediate.
Speaker 5 (25:01):
Payoff, I feel like I have to go with Kevin Durant.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
I mean, it's what's the opposite of a golden ticket?
Speaker 5 (25:08):
It's two, it doesn't matter. That's why it was such
a great signing.
Speaker 4 (25:12):
Two consecutive championships, and if he doesn't get hurt a
third one. I mean, that was arguably the greatest free
agent signing of this let's say century.
Speaker 7 (25:23):
I don't know, probably not.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
I have a feeling who's not picking the topic next Monday.
Speaker 4 (25:34):
Fortunately it's Dan judging and not used, so I have
back to back picks here.
Speaker 6 (25:39):
This board fell to me perfectly because right now I
have my six and seven.
Speaker 5 (25:42):
You don't have a Tani on it, so, I don't
know how perfecture board was Brady.
Speaker 6 (25:46):
My second round pick, David Ortiz signing with the Reds one.
Speaker 8 (25:52):
That's a good one.
Speaker 6 (25:53):
That's a good one, man, Thank you, especially the deal
they gave him from the Minnesota Twins.
Speaker 3 (25:59):
Something a little bit on your deal one year, like
three million dollars.
Speaker 5 (26:03):
Yes, it wasn't even on my second tier?
Speaker 7 (26:05):
Is he? It's back to you?
Speaker 3 (26:06):
No, No, I have a second pick. I'm sorry, third round.
Speaker 7 (26:09):
Sorry swinging around.
Speaker 6 (26:11):
I'm gonna stay with baseball. Greg Maddox to the Braves.
Speaker 7 (26:16):
One a good one.
Speaker 8 (26:17):
That feels like a golden ticket.
Speaker 6 (26:18):
Kind of Me and Mikey are normally not in lockstep.
Right now, me and Mikey are walking arm in arm
with this.
Speaker 5 (26:23):
I am going to make.
Speaker 4 (26:27):
I'm going to make sure that this person was a
free agent when he signed with the team that I
am thinking of. But yes, this was definitely the case.
I am going with Reggie White.
Speaker 7 (26:38):
Wow, great pick Reggie.
Speaker 4 (26:40):
White, that was to me at the time was like
the most immediate. This signing is turning into a super
Bowl for this team, and it happened.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
Where do I go here, Mikey first, Yeah, no, no, no,
But I already know who Mikey's taking, So I'm planning
out my pick. I can guarantee you who it is
Mikey's taking. I know who mike He is taking.
Speaker 7 (27:00):
I did, I did.
Speaker 8 (27:03):
I'm gonna change it up. Now, he got me, got
me all plustered. David Ortiz was a great pick.
Speaker 9 (27:12):
But David Ortiz is a David Ortiz without Manny Ramirez
gonna be Manny Romards.
Speaker 3 (27:17):
I think I think that's your first, your first mistake.
Speaker 7 (27:20):
I had him taking Reggie Jackson.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
Now two to you, stude, Well, I take Reggie Jackson. No, okay,
Reggie Jackson. When you get a guy who's a free
agent and he hits three home runs in a single
World Series game, that is a guy who deserves to
be on the mount.
Speaker 7 (27:39):
Rushmore a free agent siding. So I'm gonna go Reggie one.
And now I got to think of a second.
Speaker 3 (27:44):
Five year, three and a half million dollar contract from Bargain.
Speaker 7 (27:48):
Jesus Christ, let me think here for a second.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
I gotta has anyone taken Drew Brees, Yes, in the
first round.
Speaker 9 (27:59):
I did, uh wow, you mocked it and said, Brady.
Speaker 7 (28:03):
It's a bad pick by you.
Speaker 1 (28:06):
I'm gonna take Randy Johns into the Diamondbacks. I mean
they won a World Series, right, and.
Speaker 3 (28:12):
He won multiple signs.
Speaker 9 (28:13):
Yes, yes, I was going back and forth between Randy
and Mandy.
Speaker 7 (28:17):
Yeah, I love a big unit. What happened? What's remember that?
Speaker 3 (28:23):
Who said that?
Speaker 8 (28:29):
Do I want to do it? To Taylor?
Speaker 7 (28:32):
Do it?
Speaker 8 (28:33):
Do it? Give me Jalen Brunson.
Speaker 4 (28:39):
Oh, that was gonna be a nice pick. But he
hasn't actually done anything yet.
Speaker 5 (28:44):
It could be even better in three weeks, right, exactly.
Speaker 8 (28:49):
Along this finals last three weeks.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
Good, in three weeks, he'll be the number one pick possible.
Speaker 5 (28:53):
We're gonna have to get the dan on these to judge.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
So I'm gonna go quickly and say this man brought
a super Bowl to this city.
Speaker 5 (29:00):
So I'm going Peyton Manning.
Speaker 7 (29:02):
Yeah, but he didn't do anything.
Speaker 5 (29:04):
What do you mean he brought a Super Bowl to Denver.
Speaker 4 (29:06):
I know they were screaming Peyton bleeping Manning in the
streets of den I'm pretty certain.
Speaker 9 (29:10):
They did amazing and they didn't win that he did
terrible and they did win.
Speaker 1 (29:13):
They had a great year, loss had a terrible year.
Speaker 7 (29:15):
They won it all.
Speaker 4 (29:16):
I mean, the biggest free agent of that year. There
were helicopters following him around in South Florida.
Speaker 7 (29:20):
He was here.
Speaker 5 (29:21):
It is your Matt Rushmore, Okay, and it looks damn good.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
Yes, go ahead to my final pick. I'm gonna get
another basketball representation here.
Speaker 7 (29:30):
Oh it's important.
Speaker 3 (29:31):
I'm going Andre Iguodala to the Warriors.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
Okay, Wow, that important than Durant to the Warriors.
Speaker 5 (29:36):
I'm with you, solid fourth place there, right, yep.
Speaker 3 (29:39):
I love that he first, the first Domino.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
You know what they say, Taylor defense wins championships.
Speaker 7 (29:43):
That's right. I'm with you on that, good one, all right, Dan,
all right, Dan, go ahead, all right.
Speaker 10 (29:47):
The rosters, just to review, Taylor has Shock to the Lakers,
David Ortiz to Boston, Greg Maddox to Atlanta, the Goadala
to the Warriors, Lebron to the Heat.
Speaker 7 (29:56):
It was Izzy's first pick.
Speaker 10 (29:57):
Then Durant, Reggie White and Peyton Manning. Mikey had Drew Brees, So,
Tani Many Ramirez and Jalen Brunson. Stu had Tom Brady,
Barry Bonds, Reggie Jackson and Randy Johnson.
Speaker 3 (30:06):
Taylor is in fourth.
Speaker 7 (30:07):
There is there's no.
Speaker 8 (30:08):
Doubt about that.
Speaker 3 (30:10):
Taylor's fourth.
Speaker 10 (30:11):
Unfortunately, Stu was starting out hot, but he fell off
with the last two Reggie Jackson and Randy Johnson.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
After Reggie, I mean Jesus, mikey A was strong, but
is He had the golden ticket of Reggie White and
for the first time ever Israel Gutierra.
Speaker 4 (30:32):
Russ Moore Monday Wow.
Speaker 5 (30:37):
Next week's topic. It's going to be so obscure. You
guys are gonna hate it.
Speaker 7 (30:43):
Man.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
I told Dan I'd pay him a good amount of
money if he never chose is He to win that
cud I.
Speaker 3 (30:48):
Should have picked Sam Donald to Seattle.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
She Serrano is coming up next.
Speaker 4 (30:52):

Speaker 1 (31:13):
Thanks to Shay Shirano for joining us. It's funny is
he because you have two very cocky fan bases, both
with every right to be cocky, the New York Nicks
and the San Antonio Spurs, and both me and Shay
think our teams are going to win that series in
five games.
Speaker 5 (31:28):
Funny what a week does.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
Last week you were scared to death the victure.
Speaker 4 (31:31):
I'm in the Spurs, but I introduced a path and
now you've just watched them, you know, sweep through conference finals,
and it's just like, Okay, maybe my team does.
Speaker 7 (31:39):
Have a shot.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
Yes, this is the fifth show I've hosted today, by
the way, not really. Yes, I did the Unbuttoned podcast
with Chris Simms, our friend Chris Simms, who's going to
join the show on Wednesday, and I'm doing it. Well,
I did it today, I'm doing it again tomorrow. And
I think we left off at number twenty four in
terms of his quarterback rankings that he does every year.
(32:00):
This started many, many years ago when Sims said Blake
Bortles was the seventieth best quarterback of the NFL, and
I blurted out on LeBatard show, I wonder who's sixty
nine is? And then left Goo called him up and said, hey,
you need to do a list here Lebtard and stick Outs.
You're talking about you, and he did, and he came
on for sixty nine consecutive days to give us one
(32:20):
quarterback at a time. I mean, how about that. So
we left off at twenty four. We have not updated
the list. I host it today, I'll be hosting again
tomorrow and Wednesday with the great Chris Simms. But give
me the music here as we get to number twenty four,
oh us, the hell of the Rams, get the Miles Garrett.
Speaker 5 (32:44):
Unbelievable, not expecting that on a Monday.
Speaker 7 (32:46):
It's unbelievable.
Speaker 5 (32:47):
Wait until he's stuck with Ty Simpsons.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
Ty Simpson's this quarterback next year.
Speaker 6 (32:52):
So where we left off, thank you is Jacoby Versett
was twenty fifth, Aaron Rodgers was twenty six, Tyler Schuck
was twenty seventh.
Speaker 7 (32:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
I made fun of Sims for persepeing number twenty five.
He's not signed with the team yet.
Speaker 5 (33:03):
It's ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (33:04):
I mean, sird career backup anyway. Number twenty four, Gino Smith, Yeah,
whoy that there is a bit too high.
Speaker 5 (33:13):
I mean twenty four not terrible.
Speaker 7 (33:17):
Yeah, but we are so.
Speaker 8 (33:21):
Mikey he has him picking in the top ten.
Speaker 1 (33:23):
Yeah, but I feel like the expectations are a bit
too lofty.
Speaker 7 (33:25):
Now for Gina. You know, I don't like that.
Speaker 1 (33:29):
Jesus, Ginos Smith's our quarterback.
Speaker 7 (33:32):
He was our quarterback, yeah I know, and then he
left and now he's our quarterback again.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
We get all the bad parts of Gino Smith, we
get the front end of the back end of his career.
Let's go to number twenty three, tailor.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
Yep, just a reminder. We have to get to eight today.
Speaker 7 (33:45):
Yes, remember to get to eight three.
Speaker 6 (33:46):
Oh, just go number twenty three, cam Ward, all right,
twenty two Jackson Dart stop.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
For twenty right there. Jackson Dart should be higher. I'm
surprised he here. Yeah, oh yeah higher. Yes, he should
be like a top ten guy. I called Sims this.
No no, no, no, no, no, no no no. Listen to me, Guys,
when you're doing lists like this, okay, you got to
take some flyers. You gotta take some guys. You got
to put them up at number five or number six.
It's projecting out and Dart would be one of those.
(34:12):
Tyler Schuck would be another one.
Speaker 7 (34:13):
For me.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
Well, you just stick him in the top ten and
if it works out, everyone praises you, and if it
does it, no one cares.
Speaker 5 (34:19):
I'm gonna trust Simpson.
Speaker 7 (34:20):
Okay, where we leave off here?
Speaker 3 (34:22):
Number twenty one, right, Jalen Hurts.
Speaker 7 (34:25):
I mean disrespectful, that's all I doo high.
Speaker 6 (34:28):
Yeah, I mean I would. I would swap him in.
Fernando Mendoza at thirty three.
Speaker 5 (34:32):
Oh, get at him. Mendozas thirty three?
Speaker 7 (34:35):
Yes, unable, Yeah, Mendoza's thirty three.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
Jalen Hurts is not good enough respect as a guy
who has been to two Super Bowls and should have
won both, one of them against Patrick Mahomes. He has
one anyway, keep going Number twenty CJ. Stroud, Yeah, well
the mighty have fallen.
Speaker 5 (34:52):
That's too high.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
He was top ten and Simson's list last year.
Speaker 5 (34:55):
That's a recency bias for me.
Speaker 8 (34:57):
Projected out.
Speaker 6 (34:58):
Yeah, lower, go ahead Taylor Number nineteen Malik Willis what.
Speaker 5 (35:05):
Wow, we're better.
Speaker 4 (35:07):
We got a better quarterback than the Super Bowl well
two years ago, the Super Bowl winners.
Speaker 7 (35:11):
Yes, that's wild.
Speaker 1 (35:12):
Yes, he clearly didn't see that wild pitch the first pitch.
Speaker 7 (35:16):
Also, does it matter if.
Speaker 5 (35:16):
You have anybody to throw to?
Speaker 3 (35:18):
That should be factored in?
Speaker 1 (35:20):
I should agree, y, Yeah, Sims like him though, All right,
go ahead, Taylor, Number eighteen, Daniel Jones.
Speaker 7 (35:26):
Danny Dodges.
Speaker 4 (35:28):
It's funny how he was an MVP candidate in Week
six last year, probably MVPN favorite, and now he's barely
breaking the top twenty at quarterbacks.
Speaker 1 (35:35):
That's how it works in the world of quarterbacking.
Speaker 7 (35:38):
Is he.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
One year you're in the top ten, you're CJ. Strab
and you're the future of the NFL.
Speaker 7 (35:45):
The next year you're number twenty.
Speaker 5 (35:46):
You know, go ahead, Taylor.
Speaker 6 (35:48):
I like cam Warden better than most of these quarterbacks
that I'm reading right now, like a list, So number seventeen,
Brock Party.
Speaker 4 (35:55):
How is cam Warden not better than Brock Perdy? That
just got to be like, we've got to see it good.
He's not a camp first, right, because I'm usually sim
sees these things.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
I'm telling you, this guy has so much respect for
Kyle Shanahan. He has a tattoo of his face on
his chest. I'm talking about Chris Simms. And if cam
Ward played for Kyle Shanahan, he would have cam Ward
in the top ten. Right now, You're right, I'm saying
you're right, you would.
Speaker 9 (36:16):
Yeah, Rock Party wasn't coached by Kyle Shanahan, Brock Party
would be in the late thirties.
Speaker 7 (36:21):
He'd be out of the league.
Speaker 6 (36:22):
I mean, go ahead, we're gonna do sixteen through fourteen here,
Bo Nicks, Yeah, Jordan Love, Sam Donald.
Speaker 9 (36:31):
Donald's gonna yes, some disrespect on Sammy d I know
the Super Bowl champ right there?
Speaker 7 (36:39):
I agree? Yeah.

Dak Prescott?
