Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
At Nan Verk and Seam Sharani. You're going to join
us on the show today. Sham's coming up in about
fifteen minutes. He is in San Antonio for the NBA Finals,
A big game too tonight. Mikey, what do I do here?
With a text I received from Taylor. He's in New York.
He's not here the games being played in San Antonio.
He wants to be in New York. He wants to
feel the buzz. He wants to be around the action.

(00:41):
All the action is in Texas tonight, but yet he
is still there. This is the text I got from
Mikeya on a Friday, from Taylor, Hey just got to
New York. I might be late.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
I forgot pants. What is happening?

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Well how.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Let's explain, Taylor, explain to the audience what that'll happened here?

Speaker 4 (01:06):
So I was on a six am flight out of
Fort Lauderdale this morning. Last night I was too tired.
I was like, I'm gonna do the thing where I
go to sleep and I wake up early to pack.
I wake up about four am. The lights are all dark.
I'm trying not to wake up my girlfriend. I'm throwing
things in a suitcase. I get to the airport, Mikey,
I'm looking at my bag. I packed every Knicks T

(01:28):
shirt I own, right, every Knicks T shirt I own.
I have two jerseys in said suitcase and I'm looking.
I'm like, man, how did I fit so many T shirts?
How did I fit so many jerseys? And I'm trying
to map out my outfit for this watch party later?
Where are my pants? No pants packed? Zero pants?

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Yeah, that's unfortunate. How many Nick shirts do you own?
Just out of curiosity?

Speaker 3 (01:52):
I mean in this.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
Suitcase right now, there's about twenty five.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
But no pants.

Speaker 5 (02:00):
That's funny, you say that, Taylor quick aside, this is
as close to a Nick's outfit as I can give you.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
I've got an orange T shirt and a Yankees hat.

Speaker 5 (02:08):
Yes, that's as close to a Nick's outfit as I own,
and I wore it for you today.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Actually, yes, But let's focus on Taylor's problem here, his
predicament because he has no pants.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
He only has t shirts with no pants.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Did you bring shorts because it's summertime up there it
should be warm?

Speaker 3 (02:21):
You don't really technically you don't need pants right now.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
So the only bottoms I have are the shorts I
wore onto the plane, right the only bottom. Somehow, I
have more jerseys than I have pants.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Okay, so you have to go out and purchase pants
and shorts. Is that what you're saying here? I mean,
what are you gonna do?

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Yeah, I'm gonna have to. I'm have to find somewhere
to go. I didn't have time to go before this
because of the flight and the drive into where I live.
So I am I'm currently pantsless. Okay, we're just wearing
the shorts that we have right now. And it was
kind of a situation that I just said, you know what,
Later tailor is gonna faitigure this out. Current tailor. He's

(03:02):
enjoying the present, He's enjoyed that the knicker in the finals.
Later tailor has to figure out what store he's going
to go to the nearest Abercrombie he could run to
so he could buy some Schortzer pants.

Speaker 5 (03:13):
Okay, this is the same later tailor that was packing
this morning, as opposed to the current tailor who would
have put pants in his suitcase.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
Yes, a later tailor didn't.

Speaker 5 (03:22):
And this is the same guy we're going to trust
to figure out the situation later.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
Okay, just making sure we get all Yeah, current current
tailor last night kicked the problem to later tailor.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
Tonguer it out road. Yes, yes, we understand.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
Like if I packed last night, current tailor, there's almost
a zero percent chance current tailor forgets to pack pants
at eight pm, twelve hours in advance of his flight,
when I'm worried about scheduling an uber and we're getting
closer and closer to the boarding time. You could see
how I forgot past.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
He needs to calm down, Mikey. He is just all
over the place. He is Kareene. He's like ariy El Hawane.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
He does it. Everyone's emotional.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
They're forgetting their pants, they're not a certain way they're going,
they're walking into people, and strangely, in New York, everyone's saying, hey,
no problem, there's no fighting. We're all unified by the Knicks.
But everyone's going crazy. And I would have preferred tailor
paint the picture of him doing the radio show without
pants or shorts.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
That would have been fantastic.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
Yes, I'm sitting on the plane in seven A and
it was almost like the scene and Home Alone, where
everybody's turning and going Kevin, Kevin, Kevin, and then the
mom screams Kevin. But I was just screaming pants.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
Any Nick fans on that flight, they're all headed the
San Antonio, I mean yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:40):
And nobody was going Nobody was heading to Newark, New
Jersey this morning.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
So you're gonna go to the nearest Abercrumbie and Fitch
to get yourself some expensive pants and shorts right after
the show here, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
And like I'm here until the end of the finals, right.
I just very clearly was not prepared for this trip,
because I have every time I go to a Knicks
game it's been in the playoffs recently, and they have
the towel and the shirt giveaways. I packed. I packed
the towels, I packed the shirts, I packed the foam finger,

(05:12):
I got it.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Yes, zero pants.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Yes, you can go out on Madison Square Garden's floor
right now. And have a T shirt cannon and have
enough shirts to go around for an entire session. If
you would love that job, wouldn't you. I'm looking at
your face right now. That would be a dream.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
You would lit up.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
He would quit this job to be the guy who
shoots T shirts out of a cannon at the Mecca.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
I think a T shirt cannon is one of the best,
most underrated things at a sporting event. I've looked at
times like, hey, how much would it be just to
have a T shirt cannon? And my girlfriend's looking at
me when I have our credit card being like, you're
not putting a T shirt cannon.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
On this credit card. I'd listen to her seriously.

Speaker 4 (05:55):
Yeah, but if she's like, hey, Taylor, can you hand
me a T shirt? Imagine if I could just if
I could just load it up and just down the hallway.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Yes, but why would she do that? Why would she
ask you for a T shirt? I'm like you, she
doesn't forget anything. She is properly packed, she's there, she
has everything stored away.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Does she know that you forgot your pants? Have you
been her aware yet?

Speaker 4 (06:16):
Yeah? Yeah, she was like the first text message, like
she's like, hey, hope you have a safe flight. Text
me when you land, And the first text that she
woke up to was no pants, no pants, I'm gonna
overnight me my pants.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
Wait no, but Mikey, I'm guessing that Taylor's girlfriend knew
before Taylor did that he didn't.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
Back any pants like that would be my guess.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
No, so she didn't know because this is the situation
I kind of ran into. And I'm wondering if you
guys have ever had it where your significant others going
on a trip. Yeah, and the flight is early in
the morning, Like if my girlfriend was flying out at
six am and she asked me, Hey, Taylor, I need
you to drag me to the airport at four am. Sure,
no problem. But when the situation is reversed, a four

(07:00):
am flight to her was an instant no go. She's like, hey,
you're taking an Uber Yeah, I'm not waking up at
four am.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Yep, I've experienced that.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Yes, I'll take her to the airport anytime, any day,
does it matter. But God forbid, I asked her to
drop me off of the airport. I'm spending one hundred
and twenty on Uber Black.

Speaker 5 (07:18):
I mean, Jesus, I flew home from overseas and my
wife was supposed to pick me up at JFK.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
And I landed and I said, hey, I'm here. Just
where should I meet you?

Speaker 5 (07:32):
She goes, I sent you a car, I sent you
an Uber, and I don't think I've ever been so
hurt in my life.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Yeah, Taylor, so you took an uber to the airport
this morning?

Speaker 3 (07:43):
Are you planning on expensing that? To me?

Speaker 1 (07:45):
How is this going to work? I didn't tell you
to go to New York. I just said you could
go to New York. No, but I didn't say I
didn't say, hey, go to New York. I just said
he asked me if he could go, and I said, sure,
go ahead.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
You know.

Speaker 5 (07:56):
The amount of content I know Taylor is going to
walk away from from this week.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Yeah, you can expense the work, Tralliant. It's really on
my behalf. You're calling it, thank you very free with
all the money. Yeah, if it was your money, would
you call it?

Speaker 4 (08:11):
Absolutely not?

Speaker 3 (08:11):
I don't have money.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
Here. How about this for a trade off. I won't
expense the uber, Yeah, but I could expense the pants.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Okay, I'd rather the uber. You're gonna go to Abercrombie
and get twelve pairs of pants if I say yes
to that, and probably some shorts and some surety, you know,
I'm not gonna look at the itemized bill because I
never do.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
I mean, why would I?

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Oh Jesus, how do we feel going into tonight's game?
Because I think a lot of Nick fans would say
this is a house money game, and I say, no,
it's not a house money game. When you haven't been
to the finals since nineteen ninety nine and you so
desperately want to win an NBA championship. I don't view
tonight as a house money gain. I view tonight as
the night the Knicks can win the championship and put

(08:58):
the series away. And I think the Knicks are going
to have that exact same attitude. I'm not going to say.
I'm not saying San Antonio's not going to be a
desperate basketball team.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
They are.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
They know they have to win this game in order
for them to have a shot at winning an NBA title.
But the Knicks also know, and I like this Knicks
team's mentality, they also know, Hey, we win tonight.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
We go up too. Oh.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
Series is a rap. Going back to Madison Square Garden.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
I think Knicks fans it's fair if they look at
this game as a house money game, But I don't
think the team goes in with that mentality, because if
you told most Knicks fans, hey, before this series starts,
you're going to be coming back to Madison Square Garden
and it's going to be split one one one hundred
percent of Knicks fans are are taking that almost every time.

(09:45):
But where I think this Knicks team has been different,
and it's kind of shown they've been different this postseason.
Their mentality when when they have teams backed up against
the wall, they'll put your foot on your neck and
crush you. Like you look at the three close out
games from Cleveland and Philadelphia and Atlanta. The Knicks have
won those closeout games by an average point of almost

(10:09):
forty points per game. Like this team seems to play
their best when you would expect the other team to
be at their most desperate.

Speaker 5 (10:16):
In my opinion, the Knicks had no business winning Game
one after like ten days off agree and then Jalen
Brunson getting hurt twice in the game, Like they had
no business winning that game in San Antonio.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
The fact that they got it. This is a step
on their throat game.

Speaker 5 (10:32):
This is a let's end this season, this series before
the Spurs can find themselves getting back into it.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
This is not the game that you want to lose.
I get that.

Speaker 5 (10:42):
You could say it's house money because oh, we come
back one to one.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
But this is not that.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
This is this is the time.

Speaker 5 (10:47):
To win, win the whole series. Tonight, Game two, the
most important game of the series.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
Taylor, I understand what it is you're saying.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
They already get Listen, they already set They already accomplished
what they set out to accomplish, which every road team
will tell you win one of two on the road. Okay,
but they won game one, and to Mikey's point, they
didn't play that well in Game one. They got the
Spurs got the Knicks like C plus game. We haven't
seen the Knicks a game yet, and granted we haven't

(11:16):
seen the Spurs a game yet. And I suspect the
Knicks know what they're gonna get tonight. Is San Antonio's
a game. And because this team is so uber competitive,
with Brunson, with heart, with all these guys who have
played together forever, I think they know exactly what they're
stepping into tonight with San Antonio, and they need to
match that intensity. And because they care enough, and because

(11:36):
they don't look at this as a house money game,
they look at this as hey, let's leave no doubt,
let's sweep the Spurs. They will match their intensity because
they are not complacent just being up one game to nothing.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
They want to be up to well going back home.

Speaker 4 (11:50):
It is strange that both teams are going into this
game too saying we're gonna play a lot better than
game one and let's see who's best is going to
be better than the other team's best. But if you're
the Spurs and the Spurs are saying, hey, we're going
to be playing better in game two, we've kind of
heard that narrative all playoffs of teams thinking that they're
going to have a response for this next team, and

(12:11):
then next team having this overwhelming response. Like Kenny Atkinson
last series was saying, we're up analytically in this series
after three games. Kenny Atkinson, how did that work out
for you in game four? You didn't even show up
in Game four?

Speaker 1 (12:23):
Put it on the pall as Kenny Atkinson getting ready
right now for Game two of the NBA Finals.

Speaker 4 (12:30):
Analytically, they're right there.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
I forgot about poor Kenny Atkinson, but he's still a coach.
So I'll go ahead, Taylor Stu.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
I have a little game here that I'd like to
play with you guys. Okay, Yeah, it's called something or Nothing.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Oh okay, I like it. Keep going just.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
Off the name alone. You're you like it?

Speaker 3 (12:52):
Well? Of course, something or Nothing. I've been waiting to
play this game my entire life. Where's it been? Go ahead?
How do we play it?

Speaker 4 (12:58):
So you'd expect a big response from the Spurs in
Game two, but after the Game one loss, Dylan Harper
reposted a TikTok that was slandering Darren Fox, saying that
darn Fox paid tribute to James Harden with his three
of thirteen statline. Now he on reposted it afterwards, so

(13:19):
it might have been a mistake. But something or Nothing.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Wow, I love that Dylan Harper. He's a rookie, right,
I mean, I love this kid. He was their best
player in Game one and somehow they sat him in
the fourth quarter. This is something Dylan Harper taking shots
at his own teammate for being bad. James Harden's not
a compliment, James Harden's an insult Jim.

Speaker 4 (13:44):
Jimbo. This is something I mean.

Speaker 5 (13:46):
This is because no matter what happens, it was still
on his phone, it was still in his hand, even
if he accidentally reposted it. Yes, someone sent it to
him to say, hey, check this out. It's something he
talked about it.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
And more importantly, it's been sent to the Aaron Fox,
so he knows it's out there and he knows it's
courtesy of his teammate Dylan Harper.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
This is something Dayler.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
And it wasn't like Harper, you know, was in the
game down the stretch, like he got benched in favor
for Fox. It's it doesn't seem like it's a coincidence
that this is post. This is coming up on his timeline.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
Yes, what a time we live in. Dylan Harper sending
a message to his coach and doing so this is
really absolutely incredible. He is doing so not directly but

Speaker 1 (15:08):
All right, thank you to Sham's there for joining us.
Ad Nan Vik is going to join us in just
a little bit. Mikey A has an issue going on
with his kid. He needs some advice here. But before
we get to that, Taylor, what is going on? The
Knicks are auctioning off some court side seeds. I'm being
told which game is this for?

Speaker 3 (15:26):
How much of these tickets going for? What are we
doing here?

Speaker 4 (15:29):
Yeah? So the Knicks are auctioning off two celebrity row
tickets for Game three. Proceeds from the auction will benefit
the Garden of Dreams Foundation. The total fair market value
of the tickets is thirty nine thousand dollars. But do
you guys want to take guesses what the current bit
is at.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
So you're auctioning these off to very wealthy people, people
who have a lot of money, people who may or
may not be Nick fans, who want to take their
kids to something special side at Madison Square Garden. It
doesn't matter if you're a Nick fan. If your kid
wants to see Timothy Shallomey or wants to see some
of these celebrities that be up closed, like Greenie's kid,

(16:09):
you'll try to get it done. Man, I cannot imagine
what people with money are bidding on these particular tickets.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
Go ahead, Mikey.

Speaker 5 (16:16):
The other thing about it, though, is because it's going
to charity, it could be considered a write off.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
It is a write off.

Speaker 5 (16:22):
Yes, so I'm thinking that it is going way higher
than even we assume it would go.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
All right, I'm gonna.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
Well, hold on a second. So the bidding is ongoing here.
So it started at thirty nine thousand, roughly, right, it's ongoing,
And when when does bidding close?

Speaker 3 (16:41):
Taylor? Do we know?

Speaker 4 (16:42):
I don't know when the bidding closes. It didn't start
at thirty It didn't start at thirty nine thousand. They're
just telling you that if these tickets were to be sold,
they would be sold for thirty nine thousand.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
Okay, do we know when the auction started? Do we
know that? Uh?

Speaker 4 (16:56):
Yesterday?

Speaker 3 (16:57):
Okay, So yesterday, Mikey.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
So you know there's someone out there bidding a lot
of money, and then there's another guy coming in and
he's going a little more, and it's going to get
down to two people. They'll never know who each other.
Maybe they will, maybe they're in coots. But usually this
is how these things go down. It's one guy versus
another guy, and he's trying to flex how much more
money he has than that guy. So what do you
think the bidding's at right now? Because I think it's astronomical.

(17:21):
I think it's somewhere in the six figures.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
Probably. I was.

Speaker 4 (17:25):
I was gonna put it at one twenty.

Speaker 3 (17:27):
I was gonna put it at three point fifty.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
I was gonna put it at three hundred and fifty
thousand dollars for the two tickets.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
Where is it, Taylor?

Speaker 4 (17:34):
The current bid five hundred thousand dollars out of here?

Speaker 3 (17:42):
I can't believe Breedy made that bid.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
Stu. I was listening to WFA and earlier and Evan
Roberts keeps saying that this is a once in a life,
lifetime opportunity to see the Knicks play in the finals,
and that's why people are spending this kind of money
on tickets. Yeah, Tiki Barber kind of rightly pointed out,
saying the Knicks made the finals in nineteen ninety nine
and nineteen ninety four, so it technically can't be a

(18:09):
once in a lifetime opportunity. If over the course of
your lifetime you've seen it multiple times.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
That's fair depending on how long you live, though, I mean,
but yes, you're right, if you live a typical life.
This is the third time for me. Okay, so I'm
a good example here. This is not once in a lifetime.
I've seen the Knicks multiple times now playing in the
NBA Finals, including being a game away against the Rockets
where they.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
Were up three to two headed back to Euston.

Speaker 4 (18:35):
I mean, if you live during the times of the
bubonic plague, then yes, it was once in a lifetime.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
It's such a great word, plodding plague.

Speaker 4 (18:50):
And if you did it, you made it this far. Congratulations.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
Yes, wait, sold Todd, the price is set? Where is
it it?

Speaker 3 (18:59):
Right now? Who's we don't know the bidder, but the
bidding is at where right now?

Speaker 4 (19:03):
The bidding is at five hundred thousand dollars. Now I
can't get it out of my head. Ah here comes,
here comes the latest strain of influenza to take us
all out. Where do you like, Scott Cumpshit?

Speaker 3 (19:18):
Where do you think the bidding's going to stop?

Speaker 1 (19:20):
Because I think we could be seeing a million dollars
for these two tapers?

Speaker 4 (19:24):
Should we out a bid? Five?

Speaker 1 (19:26):
Here?

Speaker 3 (19:27):
Not need you to action? Wait?

Speaker 1 (19:32):
So you want to put in an official bid knowing that
that official bid is going to be beat, just so
somebody could say, you know what, I'd like to do
that as long as they know that bid is coming
from me.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
I want that. Yeah, so I can get some Yes,
I want to get some press.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
Taylor put the bidding at five hundred and one thousand
dollars from me?

Speaker 4 (19:50):
Okay, okay, I actually know somebody. That sound made me
think of it. This kid I know from college. He
went into marketing, but he also does auctioneering on the
side where he's.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
I wish I could do that.

Speaker 4 (20:09):
Really, I'll book them on the show, please do.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
I would just talk as quickly as possible, all jumbled
until somehow everything landed in my car. You know, Mikey,
do you think we're gonna see north of a million
dollars for two court side tickets? And I'm sorry, it
looks like we're not going to get to your kid's
problem again more.

Speaker 5 (20:30):
Than I mean, I think we're gonna have to if
if we're only twenty four hours into the auction and
we're already at half a.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
Mill, Yeah, yes, yes, because the guy who's at a
half million cannot be stopped, the guy who bid a
half million dollars.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
For these two tickets.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
If you can bid a half million for two tickets,
you can go as high as you want.

Speaker 3 (20:50):
Someone's gonna come back in.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
I'm telling you, the guy who's had a half million
right now is not letting these tickets go anywhere else
but in his pocket.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
I'm telling you that.

Speaker 4 (20:57):
Yes, anytime people say you could just write it off,
I almost don't even understand what that means.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
Well, it just right off, people, It's a write off, right, Okay,
I don't know what it means either, but I know
it's right off.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
Yeah, you just write it off. Yeah, it is right
it off. But I'm taking advantage of it.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
I mean, be sure to catch live editions of Stu
Gotson Company live weekdays at three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
At nan vurking to join us at about fifteen minutes.
We are reeling I mean Nix and Spurs tonight Game two.
It's such an interesting game. It's why Game two is
so fascinating to me, because you know, you have the
Spurs trying to get back into the series and you
have the Knicks trying to end the series.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
What is Shay Serrano saying here, Taylor, I.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
Am told that he has a a Stu Gotts type
take here about Jalen Brunson.

Speaker 3 (21:52):
What is the take?

Speaker 4 (21:54):
So Shay is a Spurs fan, but he's also just
a great NBA commentator too. He's he said, if Jalen
Brunson pulls this off, it's gonna be like a Dirk
Nowitzki level championship where the one championship is actually worth
like three championships.

Speaker 3 (22:11):
Put it on the poll.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
If Jalen Brunson wins a championship this year, isn't like
winning three. I never thought that with Dirk. I know
it validated his career. He needed a title to be
considered one of the all time greats. I didn't feel
like when Dirk won that NBA championship, though he won
three titles, this is different though.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
This is the Mecca. It's not Dallas. This means more.

Speaker 1 (22:33):
So I am willing to get Brunson three championships if
he merely wins one. But I am not willing to
agree with anybody who says Dirk on that night where
he won.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
His championship is only championship that he won three? No,
not willing to do that. Yes, Mikey, So.

Speaker 4 (22:49):
Is he saying that because it's the Knicks.

Speaker 5 (22:51):
Is he saying that because of Jalen Brunson's career arc
up till this point where he was doubted everywhere? Or
is he saying just because the West is supposed to
be so much better right now and Wemby's this alien
that's going to dominate the NBA for the next two decades.
Why exactly is this one worth three?

Speaker 4 (23:10):
So?

Speaker 1 (23:10):
I think this one is worth three because so they're
different championships, right, So, Jalen Brunson is still on the ascent,
He is still.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
On the upward trajectory.

Speaker 1 (23:21):
Right he has not done winning championships where Dirk won
his championship late in his career. Everyone kept saying Dirk
needs to win a championship to kind of validate being
one of the all time greats. I did not, at
any moment think to myself that Dirk winning this was
like Dirk winning three. No one cares about the Mavericks
that care about Dirk. He validated his career. I'll give

(23:41):
him one and a half. But Jalen Brunson, this is three.
I mean, the Knicks have been starving for this, and
it's the NBA's most important organization. I don't care about Boston,
I don't care about the Lakers. This is the NBA's
number one market. It's everyone's number one market. Every league
wants the teams in New York, whether they admit it
or not, to be not just good, but championship good.

(24:03):
And the Knicks are here. And so for Jalen, I
am fine. One equals three for Dirt, one equals one
and a half.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
How about that?

Speaker 4 (24:10):
So I've been working on this formula one. It's just
the title. It counts as one title already for Jalen Brunson,
just like it would for any standard person. Ye the
second title than you is because he's six foot two
and under and the best player on the team. And
we've heard Becky Hammond say you can't win with a

(24:31):
player that short. The second title is because of Jalen
Brunton's height. The third title, Stu, is exactly what you mentioned.
If you win in New York, it counts for a bonus.
That's where That's where I think the three titles is
coming from.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
So this is weird because Mikey everyone expected Dirt to
eventually win a title, and he eventually did. I don't
think anyone ever expected Jalen Brunson to be the best
guy on a team that's going to win an NBA championship,
including Becky Hammond.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
You know what I'm saying, it's crazy.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
I agree.

Speaker 5 (25:01):
I mean, it's just I was curious as to Serrano's
thinking as to why exactly he's giving, why he's comparing it.

Speaker 3 (25:07):
No, I understand that, and I gotta be honest with you.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
I love Shay, Okay, he's on my Mott Rushmore of
Spurs fans along with Michelle Beadle.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
And I don't have two more for you, Okay. I
don't like to take I like it.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
If it's just isolated on Brunson, I don't need any
sort of comparisons to Dirk. What Brunson is doing is
vastly different than what Dirk did.

Speaker 4 (25:25):
And by my formula, Derek Cheeters five titles since all
five were one in New York. Yeah, Derek Jeter actually
has ten titles.

Speaker 3 (25:31):
No he doesn't.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
He has five? Right, No, actually he has three in
my personal record book. Those teams were too good, right place,
right time. Hall of Fame put him on the Pirates.
Tell me howny titles yet? Now, if he won one
on the Pirates, Okay, if Derek Jeter won one in Pittsburgh,
that would count as five.

Speaker 3 (25:46):
But there's no way. I'm like, you're getting carried away.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
You're excited about the Dicks, you're excited about Brunson winning
three championships at once.

Speaker 3 (25:53):
I am not going to allow you.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
To use this opportunity to tell me that Derek jeters
five World Series champ chips aren't now doubled and now
they're ten.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
I'm not allowing it.

Speaker 4 (26:04):
No, Wow, Jogi Bears got twenty exactly this guy, you
get it.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
This coming from the guy who says Elijah Wan doesn't
have any, Durant doesn't have any, and Jordan has eight,
but those make sense. Jeter's five counting is ten, don't
make sense. Brunton's one counting is three that makes sense,
but not Jeter's five counting is ten. What are you doing, you, Mikey?
Why you all fired up about the Bears moving to Indiana?

(26:33):
What has happened to that.

Speaker 5 (26:35):
The Bears had some vote where they're now starting to
move forward with moving their stadium, their home field to Indiana,
outside of not only Chicago, but outside of the state
of Illinois. And now I'm looking at it and I'm
going Indiana College the.

Speaker 4 (26:53):
Bears they're coming up. Yeah, is Indiana the mecca of football?

Speaker 1 (26:57):
Now, I don't think it's Indiana College. You made it
sound like some sort of community college. It's Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, right,
I understand no one knows Indiana right now. They just
started taking over. It's gonna be weird because Caleb Williams
took a picture from Madden for the cover with the
Chicago skyline behind them, and they have to change that

(27:18):
up now, right, It's got.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
Does like Hendersonville or something. India.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
Taylor put it on the poll. Does Indiana have a skylight?
Does Hammond, Indiana have a skylight? And is that skyline
always cloudy?

Speaker 4 (27:36):
To me, this this Bear story is just a bluff,
right Like, I won't believe the Bears will be playing
football in Indiana until I actually see that stadium being
built and the Bears play that first game in Indiana.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
Yeah, I don't think most people will believe it until
it's done. It seems like a leverage play, but I
think Mikey's saying it's getting pretty close to not being
a leverage play anymore.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
They're almost had a time Chicago.

Speaker 5 (27:59):
Yes, that's really what it is. It's a year ago.
I would have agreed with you. But like the more
and more we keep doing this, and nobody is blinking
in Chicago to be like, all right, fine, we're gonna
do this and this and this, and we're going.

Speaker 4 (28:13):
To keep the Bears in Chicago.

Speaker 5 (28:15):
It seems like they're bluffing to the point where they're
going to actually have to go through with it.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
Right, Well, the Bears aren't bluffing.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
The Bears are just trying to get a stadium deal,
and of course they would love it to be in Chicago,
but no, one in Chicago was responding the way they
want them to respond, So therefore they have to go.
It seems like they're going to have to go to Indiana.
But again, I'm with tell her on this. I won't
believe it until I see it.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
So the be and Bear stands for bluffing and not blinking.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
Right, Yeah, yeah, you proud of that one.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
I was just gonna let you have it.

Speaker 1 (28:51):
They have the best quarterback I think in the NFL.
Or he's gonna be the best quarterback of the NFL.
That guy signed up the play games in Chicago. He
did not sign up the play games in Henderson or
wherever the hell it is Indiana.

Speaker 4 (29:06):
Where where did Sims have him?

Speaker 3 (29:09):
Caleb Williams just well, he had him crying apparently.

Speaker 1 (29:13):
But I believe seventh, yes, seventh, seventh on his list
right now, that's a guy who could easily be number
one by next year. The Bears are going, why are
you saying he's overrated now the Chicago Yeah, but he
has lessened his expectations, because you would agree the Indiana
Bears they have no expectations. The Chicago Bears major expectations.

(29:33):
Perhaps this works out for Caleb Williams. In some sort
of weird way, Caleb.

Speaker 4 (29:39):
Williams is going to be the fourth best quarterback in
the state of Indiana.

Speaker 5 (29:42):
It's going to be Daniel Jones, whoever is in Bloomington
and whoever is in South Bend.

Speaker 3 (29:47):
Indiana is going to have two NFL teams.

Speaker 4 (29:52):
And Notre Dame.

Speaker 3 (29:53):
Yes, well how do you navigate? And Notre Dame? Right?

Speaker 1 (29:57):
And of course the greatest of them all Kurt Signetti
and the Indiana Indiana University.

Speaker 3 (30:04):
Indiana College is.

Speaker 4 (30:05):
What you called Adana College.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
You made it like ICC. Wow, what a state now,
seriously wow.

Speaker 4 (30:13):
So actually I'm looking at Simms's rankings. Caleb Williams was
not seventh. He was sixth.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
Oh wow, I hosted the show with him.

Speaker 4 (30:20):
You would it was seventh. You would have thought Justin
Herbert was seventh.

Speaker 3 (30:23):
Oh that's a terrible thing. Herbert.

Speaker 4 (30:27):
I wanted, I wanted to crush him, but I can't.
I can't defend Justin Herbert.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
So in Indiana we'll have two football teams, two college
football teams, an NBA team. Indiana, Man, they're really growing
its stature in terms of sports. They are I mean,
they are the They're they're the capitol of football right now.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
They own football.

Speaker 4 (30:46):
That's what happens when you get the Pat McAfee show,
built a whole infrastructure.

Speaker 3 (30:52):
Off it is that what happens.

Speaker 4 (30:57):
Should move the Hall of Fame to Indiana from Canton?

Speaker 1 (31:01):
From Canton, Taylor put that on the pole. Should the
NFL move its Hall of Fame from Canton, Ohio, where
it's been forever, to somewhere in Indiana.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
It's absolutely it's absurd. I don't think.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
Well, it's going to be interesting to see if this
actually happens. I do agree with Taylor. I'm not gonna
believe it until it actually happens. I'd like to think
the city of Chicago will come to some sort of
resolution here and keep the Bears in that city.

Speaker 3 (31:31):
Because that's an institution. It's an institution.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
I don't know what I just tried to say. I'm tired, man,
it's been a long week. I got to tell you,
I cannot imagine that happening because I just can't imagine
the people of Chicago, whoever's in charge over there, allowing
their football team, the thing that they love most along
with the Cubs.

Speaker 3 (31:50):
To move to Indiana. I just can't see it. I
can't see it.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
So anyway, ad Na Vick is going to join us. Next,
we're going to talk some tennis.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
I know we're headed into the NBA Finals Game two,
but I had to talk French show open with ad
that next.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
All right, thanks to ad Nan urg for joining us.
Mikey A has a question for Taylor. I also need
to get to a beef with Nick Fans and Elmo,
and plus we have the poll questions to wrap up
the week. Mikeya, what is your question here for Taylor's
We head into a big game too, Nixon spurs NBA Finals.
I want the Knicks to put it away tonight, but
go ahead, Mikeya.

Speaker 5 (32:47):
So, Taylor, we were listening to ad Nan and Stu
Gott's talk about how they don't like to be on
Tech's group checks during games and stuff, and I'm wondering,
with you being the way you are during Knicks games,
do you want want anybody texting you? Or are you
just like leave me alone even not being in the
same room.

Speaker 4 (33:06):
So, if you're just a casual fan, I don't want
you texting and popping in and checking in with your
ill informed takes. If you're like a diehard Nick fan
and one of my close friends, I don't mind texting
you during the game.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
Okay, So no one can really text you unless they're
a diehard. Just so we're understanding this quiteickly right, unless
you see them at your level of Nick fandom, they're
not allowed to text you.

Speaker 3 (33:31):
Is that the deal?

Speaker 4 (33:33):
Yeah, Like, I don't need somebody texting me Like, oh no,
Jalen Brunson rolled his ankle, Like, yeah, I'm watching the game.
I could see that. Jalen Brunston rolled his ankle.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
Thanks, yeah, I got it.

Speaker 4 (33:42):
Yeah, give me the Mendoza line.

Speaker 5 (33:44):
Give me the person that's like this is this is
his best a Nick fan that can't text.

Speaker 3 (33:48):
Me, I think it's me. I do I think it's me.

Speaker 1 (33:50):
I have a feeling that it's me because he views
himself as a bigger nick fan than I am, even
though I've been rooting for this team for forty five years.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
I mean, it's unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (33:59):
Yeah, you took a convenient, like ten to fifteen years
off where you started rooting for Mario Chalmers and those boys.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
Yeah, when Carolina has down years, I mean, are you
rooting the same way as you are when they're having
great years?

Speaker 3 (34:14):
Seriously? Who does that? No one does? Well.

Speaker 4 (34:17):
I haven't had kids yet, so my level of fandom
hasn't really slipped off.

Speaker 3 (34:21):
Sure, are you're blaming it on the kids? Is that
what you're doing there? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (34:25):
It seems like everybody's point of like when their fandom
really takes a dip. It's either like your team wins
a title and you stop caring less, or that you
have kids and you start caring less.

Speaker 3 (34:33):
For me, it was kids. Priorities change. It's not about
not loving sports.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
As much as I used to, which just my priorities
have shifted where sports is no longer the most important
thing in my life. They used to be now it's
my children. I apologize.

Speaker 4 (34:48):
I guess.

Speaker 5 (34:49):
I mean, so is it Nicks or is this like
every team? So like Yankees are in the World Series,
you want people texting you or it doesn't matter.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (34:58):
For the most part, I I, like I said with
add In, I isolate during the game. Ideally, my phone
is off to the side and it's like on do
not disturb, and I'm not even thinking about my phone,
Like during timeouts, I'll go to Twitter and just check
to see what people are talking about. But in terms
of communicating with people, I already really don't like communicating

(35:19):
with people. So we know, during a game that I
care about I want to communicate even less.

Speaker 1 (35:23):
EPJSON is familiar with your work, EPJSON, come to the microphone.

Speaker 3 (35:27):
Please?

Speaker 1 (35:27):
Has Taylor been ignoring your text during Knicks games? I mean,
what's going on here?

Speaker 6 (35:31):
You know we have a show group text, right and
I sent some A plus material the other night in
the middle of the first quarter, and just for the listeners.
Because it's A plus material, I feel compelled to read it.
This is this is what I wrote to you guys.

Speaker 3 (35:45):
I wonder what.

Speaker 6 (35:45):
David Stern would say if he was told that the
new York Knicks would be playing in their first NBA
Finals in twenty seven years, and they'd be wearing their
traditional home whites, and their starting center would be wearing
lime green and fluorescent yellow sneakers. I mean, that's hilarious
material ignored by the room. I'm wondering for Taylor, is
this the problem that I violate the rule of texting

(36:08):
you during the game.

Speaker 4 (36:09):
You sure did listen. I'm going to battle. I'm going
to war right now. I can't be thinking about what
David Stern would be thinking.

Speaker 1 (36:17):
And also, Jason, I hate to tell you, you're not
at his level. Do you understand what he's saying? He
doesn't view you as a Nick fan. He doesn't want
to hear from you. I mean, he likes you and
he respects you, but he doesn't want to hear from
you during a Knicks game.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
That's all. That's fair. That's fair, okay, okay.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
And just so you know, same with me, that same
with mikey A. And really is he knows the most
basketball of all of us, and he doesn't.

Speaker 3 (36:37):
Want to hear from him. I'm not even certain if
Charles Oakley texted him eat respond.

Speaker 4 (36:42):
I mean, he's not on Taylor's level.

Speaker 3 (36:47):
What is going on?

Speaker 1 (36:48):
Nick fans are very sensitive right now, and they'll look
for anyone to argue with. By the way, what do
you guys make of Colin Cowhort saying you open the
show that I saying the Knicks lovable team. Gotta love
this team. I don't want to hear from him. I
don't want to hear from these people, seriously, who have
made fun of the Knicks and their fan base for
a couple of decades. Now and now, because we have

(37:09):
this lovable team that is somehow scrappy underdogs on the
verge of winning an NBA championship.

Speaker 3 (37:15):
I don't want to hear how lovable they are.

Speaker 1 (37:17):
You hated them for two decades, You made fun of
me and Nick fans for two decades. You cannot jump
on the bandwagon.

Speaker 3 (37:24):
Not now. I am sorry.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
Now, don't want to hear from Colin, and I certainly
don't want to hear from anyone else who wasn't a
Nick fan who made fun of Nick Vans for the
last two decades.

Speaker 4 (37:34):
Go ahead, Taylor, Yeah, I have sound clips of Colin
Coward that will get for Monday of him at the
start of the playoffs, saying that Jalen Brunson isn't a
superstar that could take a team to a title, which
is kind of weird. We're three games away from said title.

Speaker 1 (37:49):
Yes, well, in his defense, you closed your eyes once
and said you couldn't see Karl Anthony Towns winning a
championship with the Knicks to you right, because you're on
the level. Yes, you are the level a lot. What
has going quickly before the polls? What is going on
with Nick fans at Elmo?

Speaker 3 (38:04):
So?

Speaker 4 (38:05):
Elmo tweeted out before game one. Elmo hopes both teams
have fun and New Yorkers are enraged because Elmo Sesame
Street is in New York. Elmo, show some loyalty to
your city at one time and just tweet out, let's
go Nicks.

Speaker 3 (38:20):
We're looking for anyone. If it's not Colin, it's Almo.

Speaker 5 (38:26):
Somebody's gonna throw Oscar that grouch through his front window
or something.

Speaker 1 (38:30):
We are so sensitive, ads to God seven nine the
odd Ax. Let's wrap up the week the way we
always do with the poll results.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
Taylor, go ahead, take it away. I'll look at that.
I was saying with music Man.

Speaker 4 (38:42):
Do the Rams lead the league in going all in.

Speaker 3 (38:45):
Yes, I mean yes, I've got you discute it. They're
all in. I mean no, one's more all in every
year than the.

Speaker 4 (38:51):
RAM overwhelming ninety seven percent. What sounds better coach fire
or coach sacked?

Speaker 1 (39:00):
Coach sack, no question about it. Yeah, it's a soccer term,
right when they sacked the coach? Yes, I like sack better. Mikey,
you like sack better?

Speaker 4 (39:08):
Yeah? I think it's an English term, not a.

Speaker 3 (39:10):
Soccer Termah okay, sorry, same thing.

Speaker 4 (39:14):
Seventy two percent of the audience said sacked sounds better?

Speaker 3 (39:17):
All right?

Speaker 4 (39:19):
Should the World Cup have to wait to start until
the next season is over?

Speaker 3 (39:22):
Yep? It should. We've been waiting for this for a
long time.

Speaker 1 (39:25):
I don't like this no rest between games, shortened scheduled. Nope,
let's take our time and enjoy this. What are we
going to rush for to see no goals go ahead?

Speaker 4 (39:34):
Sixty four percent of the audience said yes, it should wait.
Good audience statue of liberty. What a weird gift.

Speaker 3 (39:44):
I forgot about that.

Speaker 4 (39:47):
Michelle Beatle.

Speaker 3 (39:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (39:51):
Seventy five percent of the audience said yes, yep. Final
poll this week was the was that the greatest three
point game in NBA History by Josh harr.

Speaker 3 (40:00):
It was yeah, no doubt, yes.

Speaker 4 (40:03):
Sixty one percent in the audience said yes, all right,
those are the polls.

Speaker 3 (40:06):
All right, those are the polls. Have a great weekend.
