This is the best of Stu Gotson Company Live on
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
So one of the many things I love about this
job and I love about Israel goody Eras, is that
you never know what's gonna set Is he off.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
A good point?

Speaker 1 (00:28):
And you've been set off today? My friend Kevin Durant
is the reason that is. He is in a foul mood.
I guess no, no.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Just whenever somebody says something where I just sort of
kind of see right through it, right, it's just, you know,
it's just a topic that interests me.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Okay, we have some sound from Kevin Durant over the weekend.
I think you're talking about his response to the Philadelphia
seventy six ers and the dream team they've created.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
So that's a couple of things, right, And we'll play
this sound right here where he's responding to this question.
But I believe somebody asked him here. Let's just play
this sound. Somebody asked him whether the Philadelphia seventy six
or seems like a mindless question, are going to be
contenders this coming year? And here's what Katie said, You
like their contenders?

Speaker 4 (01:12):
Sure you don't think so? No, I'm just asking you.

Speaker 5 (01:16):
Last time he put three twenty points scores on team,
they said it was unfair, which is the team I was?
They got four, so that it'll be a contender, man,
that will be a great team to watch.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
And he went on from there just to go on Twitter,
which is, you know, his his preferred form of communication,
to then sort of continue to double down on the conversation.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
Like, first of all, Stu back that.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
He he sort of simplified what the Warriors did by
bringing him in by calling it the last time they
put three twenty point a game scorers together, That's not
what you guys were. That wasn't three guys who just
averaged twenty points. That was two of those three guys
that won combined three mb So let's not just sort
of dismiss what you actually.

Speaker 6 (02:04):
Were and it was unfair, Well it was, yes.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Well, the big difference being that Philadelphia is not coming
off a season in which they broke the regular season
win total and won an NBA championship. Yeah, the Warriors
were exactly yes.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
And he is then doubling down on Twitter by saying
by sort of breaking it down, saying, hey, on paper,
the Philadelphia seventy six ers this year's version are even
better than that Warriors version. And he makes these comparisons
to the Joel a recent MVP. So there's Steph the
recent MVP. Those aren't the same, man, those they're not

(02:38):
the same. We have not seen anything that Joel Hembida
has done past the second round because he's never been there.
So they're just not the same. And then he said
a recent finals MVP in Jalen Brown. Okay, let's pause
there for a second, because he went on to say
other things. Not once did he bring up Andrea Guadala,
who is a finals MVP recently. And then he talked

(03:00):
about he said Klay Thompson was never a finalist for
MVP or nothing right, and then just said twenty two
points a game, yes, and then threw Draymond Green stats
out there, which is something like fourteen points a game,
seven rebounds and six assists.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
He's trying to give off that that team wasn't nearly
as good as we thought.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
It was right, So basically over hyping Jalen Brown a
little bit, over hyping a forty one going into forty two,
Lebron James, probably over hyping Tyrese Maxie a bit too,
because if Joel Embiid had been healthy throughout the last
three years of Tyree's MAXI, I don't think tyres Maxie's
numbers are as good as they are currently. So it's

(03:37):
all just him, you know, moving the goalpost a little
bit here and there to try to make a point
which I don't agree with at all.

Speaker 7 (03:44):
Yeah, this is this is Kadi's still trying to justify
the weakest move in NBA history.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
That's it, yep.

Speaker 7 (03:50):
Is he the point that you made And the saddest
comparison that he made was comparing Curry's MVP to Joel
Embiid's MVP, saying that Joel was an MVY recently because
how many injuries ago was Joel Embiid's MVP. Joel Embiid
might as well be a completely different player now.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Yes, and you can't. Honestly, there are very few MVPs
you could even compare to Steph Curry, who was unanimous
and the first time unanimous MVP, So that in itself
is not a fair comparison. And normally I agree with
like ninety five percent of the stuff Katie says. He's
lately come across as somebody, you know, the more veteran player,

(04:27):
the older, wiser guy, the one who's like not in
it for the nonsense, and he just kind of goes
in and breaks down things in a sensible way. But
this one, he's just trying too hard. And I don't
even get it s due because what Taylor said is correct, right,
He's trying to justify what many people believe is the
weakest move ever in sports.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
He's gonna be justifying that and defending that move for
the remainder of his life.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
That's what he signed up for, right, But to do
that whilst also insulting them, right, Like Draymond, that's how
you have to do it. You have to.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
There's no way of doing it without him insulting the
Golden State Warrior team that he played on.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
So he's more concerned with public perception about his move
than his actual personal relationships with these folks. It's just
a little sideways for me.

Speaker 7 (05:14):
The biggest difference in terms of the public perception besides
the fact that the seventy six ers weren't this title
contending team before Lebron James got there. To quote unquote
ring Chase Stude, the difference is, Kevin Durant wins a
title in Golden State, there is nothing he could ever
do to make Warriors fans love him more than Steph Curry.

Speaker 6 (05:34):
Yep.

Speaker 7 (05:35):
If Lebron wins a title this year or next year
in Philadelphia, yep, he is Philadelphia's guy for eternity his city.
Right next to that Rocky statue, they're putting up a
Lebron James statue.

Speaker 6 (05:46):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
The other big difference is, you know, Kevin Durant was
on a team that was up three to one on
the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals the
year before he left Oklahoma City and went to Golden
State and joined the team that came back from that
three one deficit and went on to win.

Speaker 6 (06:02):
An NBA championship.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
That team is one of the greatest teams to have
ever played in the NBA, and Kevin Durant felt like
they needed more.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Yes, and then so going back to that point about
just him not really caring about his personal relationships, like,
I don't know how many people thought they had poor
relationships over there.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
It just break.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
It just comes down to what Taylor just said. He
seemed like he was upset. Now he's gonna say this
is fan fiction. He's gonna say this is not the case.
But people around there have people around him at the
time had noticed it, had you know, probably even heard
comments from him where it's just like, they don't love
you the same way they do Steph, and they don't
value you the same way they do the homegrown guys.

(06:42):
And that's why he ended up getting out of there.
And he just used Draymond Green and his you know,
his argument with Draymond Green as the reason he was leaving.
But it's just like what he did to Klay Thompson
was so unfair right there. Yeah, but he had to
to justify what it is he did.

Speaker 6 (06:58):
That's what I'm trying to tell you.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
But here's a question for if you needed a two
way player today, would you take prime Jalen Brown or
prime Klay Thompson Because people forget how good of a
defender he was, right, and so if you were to
I don't think Klay Thompson would have been a lead
guy on a highly successful team. But he damn sure
proved he could be a number two guy on a

(07:21):
very successful, wildly successful team. And that's what Jalen Brown was.
Despite his Finals MVP, for the entirety of his time
there with Jason Tatum, he was considered the number two.
So already it's just flaws and those you know in
his argument, and those are the ones that normally KD
is above. So the reason I say I'm shocked by
this is because it's it's crazy how hard he continues

(07:45):
to double triple, quadruple down on this concept and just say, hey,
why don't you just enjoy possibly the greatest team that's
ever been put together in the NBA. Instead he's trying
to knock them to lift himself up, and I just
think he's above that.

Speaker 7 (08:00):
Katy could have won me over if he took a
torch to Draymond Green, because I'm at the point where
I have Draymond Green fatigue right now. If he just
came out and said, if we replaced Draymond Green with
Robert Covington, Robert Covington's this Hall of Famer, I would
have been like I would have been.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
In Katy's corner with the Katie jersey being like Katy,
great point, great point, Bob Coo.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
I mean I would have I would have laughed when
you said that, Taylor, and I would have supported you.
But I would have said no, even for somebody who
dislikes Draymond Green's public you know, persona and how he
presents himself and throw these opinions that dude was phenomenal
back then. If you go back to the Game seven
that they lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers, you put up

(08:40):
a thirty point?

Speaker 4 (08:41):
Was it a triple double?

Speaker 3 (08:42):
He was just phenomenal And so yeah, what player did
you say, Robert Covington?

Speaker 1 (08:47):
Robert Covington, Yes, well, Paul Millsap there and he does
the same thing.

Speaker 7 (08:51):
He's phenomenal too, Dese, he and Paul Millsap would have
stood for phenomenal.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
And the m would have for MVB. What do you have, Dan,
there's a n point, Alf, That's what you have.

Speaker 8 (09:02):
There's also this point that Kevin Durant will never understand,
and it's what he did to Oklahoma City. I don't
think there are a lot of people here that care
that Lebron left the Lakers because it was the Lakers.
But when Durant talks, whenever he talks or he talks
about the Warriors team, there is always the part of
what he did to Oklahoma City. And even though the
thunder of comeback and rebuilt and of won an NBA title,

(09:23):
that stain on Durant will never change. So while it's
not a part of this direct conversation, I think the
way that people feel about Durant still goes back to
what he did to Oklahoma City in that moment.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Yeah, one hundred percent. And here's another stay. And even
though look you know this, I'm a huge Rockets fan.
I love it, and I've always loved KD as a player,
and ninety five percent of the time, like I said,
I agree with what he says. But what teammates, big
name teammates that he's had, that are like cool with him,
that are are friendly with him, that support him. I mean,

(09:56):
maybe Kyrie Irving. Maybe is that the ally you want necessarily?
So yeah, it's just it would upset me if I was,
you know, a lifelong Kevin Durant fan that he doesn't
have those allies, those supporters and those and maybe he does.
Maybe they're just not the big name stars.

Speaker 7 (10:12):
It always surprises me that Kevin Durant seems shocked by
the blowback from what came after he chose the Warriors
and winning in Golden State and how that has kind
of affected his legacy.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
If he could go back, do you.

Speaker 7 (10:26):
Think he would have still went to Golden State, Like,
knowing what he knows now, he makes a different team,
you think.

Speaker 4 (10:32):
I do?

Speaker 6 (10:32):
I think he stays at Oklahoma City?

Speaker 1 (10:34):
Yes, yeah, I mean it's the opposite of everything we're
taught about sports and competition.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
If you can't beat him, join them. That's not what
we're taught. We're taught.

Speaker 6 (10:42):
If you can't beat him, go back, get to work
and try harder.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Yeah, I think going back, armed with hindsight, I think
he would still leave Oklahoma City because the whole Russell
Westbrook and Billy Donovan thing probably true, right, especially on
the Billy Donovan part. Not you know, a multiple time
championship head coach. But he would go to another team,
he would say. The reason being is he was at
Golden State and he saw, Yes, Steph's great, but I

(11:05):
don't need a system. I am the system right and
I could win pretty much anywhere and he probably could
have gotten you know, one a team, let's say it's Philadelphia,
could have gotten Philadelphia a championship. You know that they
hadn't won in over thirty plus years at the time,
forty years maybe at the time, and looked completely different,
and I think armed with hindsight, he definitely would do that.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
You know, I was reading a book it's called us
Who Got his Personal record book and it's you know,
it's my favorite author. And what he wrote in that
book and it rings true to this conversation, is he
imagine Michael Jordan not being able to get past the
Detroit Pistons and rather than getting back to work, what
he decided to do is, Hey, you know what, I
can't beat this team. I'm not going to work harder.

(11:46):
I'm just going to join this team. Imagine if Michael
Jordan did that, seriously, in what world would he do that?

Speaker 6 (11:53):
There is no world?

Speaker 1 (11:54):
And son Kevin Durant is haunted by his own decision
and will be haunted by that decision for the remainder
of time, because what he's trying to do as he
gets older is justify his place in NBA history.

Speaker 7 (12:06):
Dan Stanzick to your favorite author, too.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
Yes, Yes, I mean the book doesn't get done without him. Wow.
Now I'm just picturing though. Imagine the lineup. You got
to move Michael Jordan to the three, but Man Isaiah Thomas,
Joe Dumart, Michael Jordan, Dennis Rodman and Bill lame Beer.
They'd definitely be fighting those warriors for the best team ever.

Speaker 6 (12:24):
Yes, is he? Do you like appetizers?

Speaker 1 (12:26):
The reason I asked that question it's an odd if Jordan.

Speaker 8 (12:31):
If Jordan joined the Pistons, honest question, and you have
Vinnie Johnson as the microwave, would Jordan be the air
frar instead of air Jordan.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
There's a little too early a time machine for Yeah,
I guess so I like pigs in a blanket personally.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
The reason I asked that is because Taylor told me
he's got a football appetizer.

Speaker 4 (12:49):
Wow.

Speaker 7 (12:50):
Well, I feel like we need a little football appetizer
right now. Get some football in this conversation.

Speaker 6 (12:55):
Yes.

Speaker 7 (12:56):
ESPN's Ben Solak on the Golicks earlier today said the
Bears are on Regression Watch, but the Bears are also
on Elite Watch.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
Covered all his bases. Anything can happen with the Chicago
Bears this season. What an appetizer.

Speaker 9 (13:13):
So you're telling me as long as they finish above
or below where they were exactly last year.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
Yes, he's right.

Speaker 6 (13:19):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
For the first ten minutes, mikey A did not make
a move, and then he perked up the.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
Second he said, Ben sulwhakizer, pigs and the blankets.

Speaker 10 (13:29):
Listen how Kevin Durant led, this show is beyond me?

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Yeah, well is he in the news?

Speaker 4 (13:35):
I had?

Speaker 7 (13:36):
I had an opening monologue prepared about Brian Cashman.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
Did you I want to hear it come next? Maybe?

Speaker 6 (13:42):
As Draymond Green responded the KD, I'm certain.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
Yeah, And this is this is what drives me crazy.
He's not signed it out, Draymond. Draymond gave a like,
offered a joke that a high schooler would have offered now,
and then laughed at himself with a million crying emojis.
He said, uh, sniper, thought he was on his burner.
It's a good joke for like five years ago. Many

(14:07):
what's your favorite appetizer?

Speaker 7 (14:09):
Pigs in a blank stew Yeah, I think pigs in
a blanket. If you were doing a Mount Rushmore Monday, yeah,
maybe that's an upcoming Mount rush More Monday appetizers.

Speaker 6 (14:18):
Yes, I mean it's up to me. I was the winner,
so we'll see.

Speaker 7 (14:20):
I would spoil my draft board right now and tell
you guys my one one is pigs in a blanket.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
I feel bad for the sculptors who have to do
food on a mountain. But Mikey, what do you think.

Speaker 4 (14:29):
Let's go to our expert.

Speaker 10 (14:30):
Oh, many sliders?

Speaker 6 (14:33):
Wow?

Speaker 4 (14:33):
Great?

Speaker 3 (14:34):
Really it's too filling for me. It's too much in
an appetizer.

Speaker 4 (14:37):
Yeah, yeah, I'm with you.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
He's chiseled.

Speaker 7 (14:43):
I mean, Mikey, I am with you that I think
many sliders are better than regular sized burgers.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Put it on a pole. Yeah, that's a different question.

Speaker 4 (14:51):
I agree with you there, Yes.

Speaker 6 (14:53):
Put it on the pole.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
Are many sliders better than an actual, real size burger?

Speaker 6 (14:58):
I'm not certain. I like a big burger.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
I do. I got beef carpaccio as an appetite. She's
done right right? What's the go to Izzy's house for
a big game, and that's what's being so I'm never
gonna prepare it. I'm not a professional chef.

Speaker 7 (15:10):
Well, but that's an order that arresta Welcome to my tailgate.
We've got beef Carpacah, Yeah, that's not at right temperature.
Nothing gets me to leave a tailgate faster than the
word beef carpaccio.

Speaker 6 (15:19):
Nothing gets me to not show up a good tartar.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
Isn't that terrible either?

Speaker 2 (15:25):
Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Godson Company
Live weekday said three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
Jake Store Reality going to join us in our number
two Danny a Mondola as well. I'm struggling with that name.
How do you pronounce Danny's name? Ah, Mendola, Amendola?

Speaker 6 (15:48):
I thought a tomato.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
Tomato Amen corner. He's going to join us in hour
number two as well.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
Plus we will get back to the one hundred greatest
baseball players of all time according to a guy named Jake.

Speaker 3 (16:01):
Baseball had an in for that groan to be that audible.
I'm sorry, Taylor.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
Do you want to unleash on Brian Cashman before or
after Dan Bayer's sports update here?

Speaker 4 (16:13):
Dan Byer can do his sports offen.

Speaker 10 (16:15):
That's very kind of you.

Speaker 6 (16:16):
Let's go to Sherman Oaks.

Speaker 4 (16:17):
Guy and what a guy that Taylor is.

Speaker 8 (16:19):
John Robinson is probably saying amen, his prayers were answered.
Now the highest paid running back in NFL history, three
year extension could be worth up to seventy five million
dollars for Robinson, as the deal, according to reports, has
fifty one million dollars in guarantees. He's run for over
thirty nine hundred yards in his first three years, two
fourteen hundred yard seasons the past two years. In this

(16:40):
past season also added an additional eight hundred and twenty
yards receiving. Speaking of receiving, the ravens and wide receivers,
eight Flowers agreed to terms on a four year extension
worth one hundred and forty million dollars. The average annual
salary there breaks down to thirty five million. That's the
fourth highest in the NFL, tied with Justin Jefferson of
the Minnesota Vikings. Chargers left Zackovershon Slater was taken to

(17:01):
the medical tent during eleven on elevens Today. Slater, who
missed all of last season, did exit the tent, but
didn't immediately return to action. Cardinals will start rookie Carson
Beck at quarterback in Thursday's Hall of Fame game in Canton.
Dolphins president and CEO Tom Garfingle, stepping down from his
position after thirteen seasons. He'll reportedly stay on his device
chair of the Dolphins. College football coaches poll is up.

(17:22):
Ohio State's the preseason number one in the top twenty five,
receiving thirty eight out of a possible seventy two first
place votes. Oregon was second, followed by Georgia, Texas and
Notre Dame. Defending national champion Indiana came in sixth, but
actually received the second most first place votes with fourteen.
And the WNBA's expansion team based in Cleveland has revealed
what their nickname will be when they begin playing twenty

(17:43):
twenty eight. They'll be known as the Cleveland Sirens. Stu
back to you, Thank you, Dan Mikey. Did the mention
of a coaches pole get you excited?

Speaker 4 (17:53):
Oh yeah?

Speaker 9 (17:54):
Tween elco yesterday and a coaches poll today.

Speaker 10 (17:57):
It's almost here, baby.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
Hey coaches bawl ranking teams who haven't played a single
snap of a single game yet.

Speaker 3 (18:04):
Don't get me started on coaches poll. Football is back.
Call him SID Polls, Sports Information Director polls. The coaches
have nothing to do with him.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
Football is back, but just for a moment Taylor go ahead, unleash.
I'm Brian Cashman.

Speaker 7 (18:18):
Just to recap what the Yankees did at the deadline.
They added a platoon infielder at their most crowded position
in Luis Garcia Junior. And they added a platoon outfielder
in Elliott Ramos. They traded four relievers. They didn't trade
for a single reliever at the deadline, first time since
twenty nineteen. I watch one hundred and sixty two Yankee.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
Games a year.

Speaker 7 (18:40):
You cut me open, Yeah, I bleed Yankee pinstripes. What
Brian Cashman did yesterday interesting, Yeah, was a slap in
the face to everybody who actually cares about this Yankee team.
And my biggest frustration with Brian Cashman there is never
any sense of urgency because he knows he's on to

(19:00):
If Brian Cashman thought for even a second that his
job was on the line this season, Austin Wells isn't
the starting catcher today, he gets a catcher at the deadline.
And if the excuse from Cashman is there weren't any
catchers available. Okay, really there were catchers available. They got traded.
They got traded inside the division. They clutch onto their prospects.

(19:24):
The problem is this isn't a market that it was
ten years ago where you have to overpay now because
of the third wild card. What the Yankees analytic department
doesn't understand is more teams think they're contenders, which means
fewer quality players are available. You have to be aggressive
and you compare what Craig Breslo said for the Red Sox.

(19:46):
His exact quote was, this team has demonstrated in incredible
resilience and relentlessness. They deserved and our fans deserved our
efforts to try and find ways to make the Red
Sox better. That is a stark contrast between Brian Cashman's
approach every trade deadline and if I'm if I'm Cam

(20:08):
Schlittler today, if I'm Garrett Cole today, Max Freed, Aaron Judge,
I'm just as offended as me because Brian Cashman is
looking at these guys saying, you guys have to be
perfect in the postseason. Yeah, and that's always my problem
with Brian Cashman. It's no way to reward a championship
caliber corp. You reward them by doing what the Dodgers

(20:29):
did and saying, let's go out and get these guys.
And if I'm one of these players, I'm asking, why
does the front office expect me to overcome holes that
they not only created, but Brian Cashman has had every
opportunity to fix that holes.

Speaker 3 (20:43):
Did he really just say no catchers available when their
rival got a catch her?

Speaker 7 (20:48):
Their excuse is always we looked at the market, we
didn't like what the market said. What really drives me crazy?
I think I've said what really drives me crazy? Because
there's there's four things that drives me crazy about Brian Cashman.
Brian Cashman gets credit because the Yankees are always in contention. Yes,

(21:08):
because they don't have Mets seasons. Despite having one of
the largest payrolls in baseball.

Speaker 6 (21:13):
They're consistently good.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
Yes, he has job security, and you hate the fact
that he has job security.

Speaker 7 (21:18):
They haven't won World Series since two thousand and nine.
So if you want to tell me the new standard is, hey,
we're not the Mets. Okay, go hang up a banner
in Yankee Stadium in whatever it's called up top.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
I can't even remember the word. I'm so angry the facade.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
Ye, wow, that sounds right.

Speaker 6 (21:35):
I mean you cut him open in pinstripes.

Speaker 7 (21:38):
Yeah, hang up a banner in Monument Park that says
we're not the Mets, because you can't tell me that
The Yankees expectation now is World Series or bus because
every time we get to the postseason, Me and Mikey
already know how this Yankee season ends. The Yankees are
going to get to October, they don't have enough bats
ball hitters, the offense disappears. He's another postseason series. And

(22:01):
then Brian Cashman has the audacity to get up and
go postseason baseball's a crapshoot for the eighteenth consecutive year.

Speaker 6 (22:09):
Yeah, he adds out to his skihouse and Wreckinridge.

Speaker 3 (22:13):
I love that town, Taylor.

Speaker 10 (22:15):
The Yankees have.

Speaker 9 (22:16):
The Yankees have such great starting pitching and Taylor and
I already know that when they get to October, Cam
Schlittler is going to leave a game after pitching six
and a third innings of one run ball and they're
gonna lose five to two because they have no ballpen help,
they have no offense that's going to carry them.

Speaker 10 (22:35):
They're going to.

Speaker 9 (22:36):
Sit back and go, well, somebody's gonna have to hit
a home run, and nobody's gonna be able to hit
a home run because you're gonna face really good pitching
in cold weather and it just doesn't fly that way.

Speaker 10 (22:46):
Taylor, I couldn't be.

Speaker 9 (22:48):
I am just as frustrated as you about this team.

Speaker 7 (22:51):
Is he the guy that they got yesterday, Elliott Ramos
from the San Francisco Giants. He profiles as a guy
who chases pitches. He doesn't, He whiffs, and he strikes out.

Speaker 6 (23:02):
No perfect.

Speaker 7 (23:03):
That is the formula for the Yankee offense like the
past eighteen years, and the front office, for some reason,
just keeps doubling down on this formula and being like,
I don't know why this isn't working every postseason.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
Not to nitpick, but there's no way you watch one
hundred and sixty two Yankees games in a year.

Speaker 6 (23:22):
No, he does, he does.

Speaker 4 (23:23):
I do.

Speaker 7 (23:24):
I don't watch them all live, but if I miss
a game, I'll replay it.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
Okay, that's crazy, but it's also making so much sense.
And I hate that I'm gonna do this to Taylor
right now because it was a private conversation, but I
had asked Taylor STU because I'm promoting I'm trying to
get our Flag Football League numbers up again. If you're
in South Florida and want to play flag football, my
name is Real good Chairs. Look me up on Instagram,
hit me up. But I'm trying to promote that I'm

(23:50):
trying to get our numbers back up. And I kind
of had a feeling when Taylor asked me to play
softball that he only really played football over that one season.

Speaker 4 (23:58):
As it's sort of a quid pro quot, like I'll
do it if you do it for me, and.

Speaker 6 (24:02):
So home and home.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
Yes, I reluctantly asked him, Hey, do you want to
join us again in the fall. It'll be a better season,
I promise. It was an immediate note. And the reasoning
I don't even know if he wants me to say this,
but the reasoning is it doesn't have the same love
for the game. No love for the game the game
that he played in college and he had the confidence
to walk on to a team.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
Yes, does not have the love for the game.

Speaker 3 (24:26):
Has too many potential injuries.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
When you played at that level though a D one level,
everything else falls short and competitive.

Speaker 7 (24:32):
Game right, But also I realized the second I saw
you swing the bat, I didn't need that Home at
Home anymore.

Speaker 4 (24:40):
He did not even swing the bat much.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
He was bringing more to your team than you were
bringing to his team, you.

Speaker 3 (24:44):
Know, I mean, no, he didn't show up for my team.
He showed up twice, so he didn't get but the
timing did show up. I think he had a pick
six and he lost the two games. Yeah, that's all
you need to know.

Speaker 4 (24:53):
When I played flag, when I played flag football, keeping stads.
My only thought when.

Speaker 7 (24:58):
I'm playing flag football out there is well my football
senior season ended with a torn a cl and the
only thing I could think out there playing flag football
decade later is yeah, don't tear your a cl if
I tear my east, if I tear my ACL and
is he's flag football League one, I'll never forgive, is he?
And that that is that is too much for my

(25:21):
own conscience?

Speaker 10 (25:22):
Right?

Speaker 1 (25:23):
Were you surprised by the way is he when Taylor said,
if you cut me open, pinch stripes come.

Speaker 4 (25:28):
Out, because we had pin stripes, Yankee pincher.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
There's a number of options, Carolina Blue, Jalen Brunson's Blood.

Speaker 7 (25:35):
So for my list of teams, the team that I
wanted to see when a title the most is the Knicks.
But the team that enrages me the most and the
team I'm the most passionate about, is the Yankees. And
I think that kind of comes with being a one
sixty twur. Like if you're a one sixty two. Ricardo's
nodding his head along right now because he's a Marlins

(25:56):
one sixty two, he would.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
Watch one sixty seven if they had it.

Speaker 7 (25:59):
Yeah, if you're one sixty two or you gotta screw loose.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
I haven't screwed it. I have never heard of somebody
rewatching or watching for the first time a taped baseball game.

Speaker 4 (26:09):
Yeah, so just get me the score.

Speaker 7 (26:11):
What I'll do in those situations is I'll try to
stay off social media. It's it's tougher than ever right
now because I've got a Yankee group chat and it's
just me and two of my friends from home. It's
it's tough to not get things spoiled in this era
of sports media.

Speaker 3 (26:29):
You see. Now, I just want to join a softball
league just so I can prove to Taylor if I
play a couple of times, I could play that game
just fine.

Speaker 10 (26:35):
Dan.

Speaker 8 (26:36):
You know it's funny because in Taylor talking about not
wanting to tear his ACL, I can totally relate to that,
but it reminded me of being irrational and Taylor watching
so many games. Remember I had my golf trip to
Michigan like late May. Anytime my five year old son
would want to, you know, play around, jump on my back,
I'm fine with it. But the week before when he

(26:58):
would jump on my back, get off, Get off my back,
because I did not want to pull a muscle a
week before the golf trip. So in a way, when
Taylor's talking about not wanting to tear a his ACL,
which is a much more uh you know, PTSD with
all of it, much worse injury, I was the same
way in making sure that my golf trip would not
be ruined by pulled muscle in my back.

Speaker 4 (27:18):
So I thank you Dan.

Speaker 1 (27:19):
Yeah, yes, yes, because as you get older, and Dan
Byer is right about this, you will not play other sports.
You won't do anything that will jeopardize your golf game.
Correct one percent?

Speaker 6 (27:31):
Yes.

Speaker 7 (27:31):
And another thing about this Yankee team yesterday, I'm watching
this Yankee team. Yea, Luis Garcia Junior hits a two
run home run. The Yankees come back from down six
to nothing. He hits a home run when they're down
six to five, he makes it seven to six. My
Yankee group chat is buzzing. All the boys are talking
to him there.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
With two people on there. Yeah, it's not all the people.
It's very sad.

Speaker 7 (27:53):
Yes, we were buzzing, and the conversation was I think
Luis Garcia Junior just earned his pinstripes. But horse, of course,
Brian Cashman doesn't add any bullpen arms, which is inexcusable
really for this Yankee team. And what does he do?
He relies on on hell trevih who had a seven
ERA with the Colorado Rockies last year, to be this

(28:16):
guy who has a point five to six ERA in
fourteen innings this year, And what if trev do he
gives up a seventh spot seven?

Speaker 4 (28:23):
Disgusting?

Speaker 1 (28:23):
Yeah, Taylor put it on the poll. Is being healthy
for your golf game more important than your kid's happiness?

Speaker 10 (28:31):
The week before?

Speaker 4 (28:32):
It is?

Speaker 3 (28:34):
I see you laughing, Dad, I think for Dad, it's
any time.

Speaker 8 (28:37):
No, No, I love him, but hey, I no chances
were taken. Everything was paid for. There were no more refunds.
He couldn't get any changes on the plane ticket. We
were locked in, so this back better'd be in shape.

Speaker 6 (28:49):
Are we doing? Is it just me?

Speaker 3 (28:50):
Or I don't know? Are we just gonna let Taylor
rant about the Yankees.

Speaker 7 (28:55):
Add a single bullpen arm, it would be one thing
like the shortstop. Okay, no shortstops got moved. That just
means no short stops were available. There were plenty of
options to add a reliever, and now they did trade
Camille Deval, so it's almost like an addition by subtraction,
because Camille Deval has been absolutely terrible on the Yankees.

Speaker 4 (29:16):
But take your word for it.

Speaker 7 (29:18):
This bullpen, Yeah, this bullpen is being held together right
now with like duct tape and it's falling apart really quickly,
and it's it's it's killing my mental health.

Speaker 6 (29:31):
George, I can hear him.

Speaker 7 (29:34):
Do not mention George Lombard because it was so predictable
that the Yankees call up their number one prospect the
day after the trade deadline, because Brian Cashman waltzed into
the trade deadline saying, I know I'm not gonna make
any move. I know the Yankee fans are going to
be mad when I don't make any moves. So what
am I gonna do? I'm gonna call up this prospect

(29:57):
on August fourth, the day after the trade deadline, beca
because that's gonna be the red meat that I throw
up to these Yankee fans.

Speaker 4 (30:03):
Yeah, good luck, George Lombard.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
Have you mentioned Taylor? The grade you gave Cashman.

Speaker 4 (30:09):
D D you got Louise scar See it, we lead
the league in platoons.

Speaker 3 (30:14):
Sounds like it sounds like you're talking about a guy
who deserves it.

Speaker 7 (30:17):
If we are going to get to the postseason and
the Yankees are gonna have two completely different lineups because
one one lineup only hits righty's, one lineup only hits lefties.
And then the team, like the Red Sox is gonna
start with the lefty. We're gonna have our righty lineup
in They're gonna put a righty in the bullpen, and
everybody's gonna be like, what do we do? What happened
in the days where people were everyday players that could

(30:37):
hit righty's on lefty?

Speaker 3 (30:38):
I do not have enough players to just go all
the other side, all right, everybody, We're switching everybody out
hitting facing a left hander?

Speaker 6 (30:44):
Now, I mean, what's wrong with the platoon? I love
a good platoon.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
I did every once in a while, not at every position.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
And now player in this lineup platoon Yankees.

Speaker 6 (30:53):
But in baseball, if you have two, then you have
one occasional.

Speaker 4 (30:56):
It is the rare.

Speaker 7 (30:56):
Situation because Louis Garcia Junior, that's two ninety five right,
and Paul Goldschmi bat's three zero six against lefties right,
and if you combine their right, he's in lefty splits.

Speaker 6 (31:06):
They're great.

Speaker 4 (31:07):
It is one heck of a player.

Speaker 6 (31:12):
Mikey, are you a one sixty two?

Speaker 10 (31:13):
Ur uh No, I'm more of like a one oh five.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
If you're in the hundreds, it's two one oh.

Speaker 10 (31:19):
Five or anything West Coast. I'm out anything like I'm
not staying home to watch it.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
Yeah, is there anything left on your chest?

Speaker 4 (31:26):
There? Taylor team team.

Speaker 7 (31:29):
And then now we're sending Anthony Volpi down to the
minor leagues, and Anthony Volpi's coming out saying he's gonna
work on second base, or Aaron Boon saying he's gonna
work on shortsop and second base. I think this might
be the end for Anthony Volpi, but I also do
see a scenario where he's he's the Yankees starting second
baseman because Jazz Chisholm, pack your bags, buddy. I know

(31:49):
you got to finish out these three months with the Yankees. Yes,
whatever you do, Jazz Chisholm in these next three months.
Good luck on the Cincinnati Reds last next year, right, I.

Speaker 10 (31:58):
Look forward to you striking out in a big spot
in October.

Speaker 3 (32:01):
It'd be odd to back your bags though in August.

Speaker 10 (32:03):
No.

Speaker 7 (32:04):
Yeah, but just Chisholm he epitomizes this Yankee team where
he says he doesn't like playing cold weather baseball. Jez,
I hate to break it to you. It gets pretty
cold in the fall in New York City. Trade him
back to the Marlins.

Speaker 4 (32:21):
Is it just me?

Speaker 3 (32:22):
Or we were supposed to do it here? We did it.
Taylor had to give Cashman a d We'll do it next.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Gotson Company
Live Weekday. He said, three pm Eastern, twelve pm Pacific.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
If you didn't get enough Yankees in that last segment,
Jake Storey Alley get.

Speaker 4 (32:43):
To join us coming up next segment.

Speaker 1 (32:46):
Danny Amandola going to join us next hour as well,
and we'll get to the one hundred greatest baseball players
of all time, according to a guy named Jake.

Speaker 6 (32:55):
God, I'm tired of this list.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
J though not Jake's story, owing no Jake would do
it correctly.

Speaker 3 (33:02):
Let's get to uh, is it just me? Or give
me the music?

Speaker 1 (33:05):
Guy with sim who wants to kick off the proceedings
today Taylor does?

Speaker 4 (33:14):
Is it just mirrored?

Speaker 7 (33:14):
Does Brian Cashman kind of stick at his job because
you would think that the Yankees would have been a
little more aggressive at the deadline, Oh cash Man.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
Izz He and I proclaimed during the break that we
are now rooting for the Yankees to win it all.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
I want them to win it I want them to
be the reason why the rest of the baseball it's like, Okay,
we don't need a salary. Yeah, because they beat the
Dodgers and it would make Taylor somehow both equally happy
and frustrated.

Speaker 7 (33:41):
Realistically, the Yankees can win it all because the path
to the World Series from the American League has never
been easier.

Speaker 4 (33:49):
It's the Yankees, It's the Rays, it's the Red Sox.

Speaker 7 (33:52):
It's gonna be one of those three teams because nobody's
believing in the Is it just Mirrod? Does nobody believe
in the Chicago White Sox second one right there?

Speaker 6 (34:00):
Baseball?

Speaker 3 (34:00):
Would it be if it were Dodgers White soze, I'm
just learning the White Socks are good.

Speaker 4 (34:07):
Yeah, scrappy.

Speaker 3 (34:08):
Worst team in the league last year.

Speaker 1 (34:11):
Shout at the series. Very exciting. Let's go out to
Sherman Oaks, Dan.

Speaker 8 (34:15):
Byer guys off of the heels of the slider conversation earlier.

Speaker 4 (34:19):
Is it just me?

Speaker 8 (34:20):
Or could we ditch the mini on sliders because aren't
they already mini as it is?

Speaker 4 (34:23):
Yes, you're right.

Speaker 7 (34:25):
Any sliders it's like ATM machine, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (34:28):
Tin number ATM machine, put it on the pole tailor yeah?

Speaker 6 (34:32):
Can we ditch the mini on many sliders?

Speaker 3 (34:35):
Dan's right about I feel like you guys are short
changing beef carpaccio, like it's really good.

Speaker 10 (34:40):
We're not.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
I'm not saying for a tailcame, No, we're not.

Speaker 4 (34:44):
It's the name beef carpaccio.

Speaker 7 (34:45):
It sounds like Ken Rosenthal would love beef carpaccio pretentious.

Speaker 3 (34:50):
If it is bow tie.

Speaker 1 (34:53):
Oh, sure, I'll have some beef carpaccio.

Speaker 4 (34:57):
It's good.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
It's Tinley slice.

Speaker 4 (34:58):
It's very nice.

Speaker 6 (35:00):
Mikey, Yeah, you have one for us?

Speaker 4 (35:02):
I do Is it just me? Or is there no
way to.

Speaker 9 (35:06):
Ask for a manager without seeming like an absolute Karen
or an absolute pretentious guy.

Speaker 11 (35:13):
Because I had to speak to a manager at a
store today and it had nothing to do with a complaint.
I was literally going to ask him about a fundraising
thing for my kids' baseball team.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
When I went up to the work and I was like, Hi,
is there a manager around?

Speaker 9 (35:26):
And she immediately was like, oh, geez, look at you.
I was like, no, it's really not a complaint, but
there's just no way to do it without seeming like
you're going to be one of.

Speaker 3 (35:35):
Those You couldn't be more correct there, Mikey, because I
was at a store the other day and I was
complaining because it was something that was supposed to be delivered.
It was told me it was delivered and said I
went to go pick it up and.

Speaker 4 (35:46):
It wasn't there.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
And I did everything in my power to not ask
for the manager, but it was clear, Hey, I'm going
to keep talking until somebody above you comes to talks
to me.

Speaker 4 (35:57):
Mikey.

Speaker 7 (35:57):
I think the way you could have done it is
if you went to the employee and said, I love
this star.

Speaker 4 (36:03):
You guys are doing great. Here.

Speaker 7 (36:05):
Can I talk to the manager, because then I think
you're coming in from a more friendly perspective.

Speaker 6 (36:09):
I thought for sure you were going to go in
on the Yankees manager.

Speaker 4 (36:12):
No, I have no problem with Aaron Boone.

Speaker 7 (36:15):
Brian Cashon might as well be tying Aaron Boone's hands,
find his back and saying good luck trying to manage
this team.

Speaker 4 (36:20):
I don't think anybody could win.

Speaker 10 (36:21):
With this team or Aaron boom.

Speaker 4 (36:24):
Yeah, if it was up to Aaron Boone, Aaron Boone
would have got a catcher this week.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
I don't think Aaron Boone talked to the general manager.

Speaker 7 (36:30):
Aaron Boone doesn't want to keep trotting out Austin Wells
every day.

Speaker 6 (36:35):
Go ahead?

Speaker 10 (36:36):
Is it?

Speaker 3 (36:37):
What game?

Speaker 6 (36:37):
Is this? Is it just me?

Speaker 8 (36:38):
Is it just me?

Speaker 4 (36:39):
Or is it just me?

Speaker 3 (36:40):
Or do people actually think they can pass or are
supposed to pass a field sobriety test? Obviously, the conversation
came up with Tony Romo and his field sobriety test
and how hilarious it was and everything was on video
and it was way too, way too online. Those things
are very embarrassing, I'm sure, but do people not recognize it?
Those are designed, They're completely subjective, it's not even that

(37:02):
they're tricky difficult you have to fall in structures. They're
entirely subjective, to the point where the CoP's gonna say, ooh, yeah,
you didn't do too well on that.

Speaker 4 (37:09):
Here's the breathalyzer.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
Yeah, if I ever get pulled over, it's a bridge
to the breathalyzed exactly.

Speaker 3 (37:13):
It doesn't matter if all you have to do is
say the alphabet. They're like, I don't know, you kind
of went through m LMNOP too quickly. See, I even
screwed it up right there. Boom, here's a breathalyzer. If
I ever get pulled over on suspicion for drunk driving,
as long as I haven't been drinking, which I don't
drink and drive, i'd be just can we just speed
it up and get me the breathalyzer, please, because I
do not need to go through this embarrassing nonsense just

(37:34):
for you to tell me that, oh I failed and
now I have to breathe.

Speaker 4 (37:37):
I like that.

Speaker 1 (37:37):
You get pulled over, you pull down the window and
as the cops walking toward your car, you say to him, hey,
you better bring the breathalyzer.

Speaker 3 (37:45):
Right because you know, no one says that. Let's pick
up the pace here, right.

Speaker 6 (37:49):
Oh, this guy is super confident.

Speaker 3 (37:51):
Go ahead, dad, I'm not defending Tony Romo.

Speaker 8 (37:53):
But when she goes I'm gonna do this three times,
you need to do it eighteen eighteen times, I'm like, oh,
this is a little too much.

Speaker 3 (38:00):
Six maybe you know seven, but right, goshhizzy.

Speaker 4 (38:04):
I have two recurring nightmares.

Speaker 7 (38:06):
One of them is I'm about to play football game
and I don't know the playbook. The second recurring nightmare
is I get pulled over and a cop makes me
recite the alphabet backwards and I couldn't do that in
a clear state.

Speaker 3 (38:20):
I would do that so slow that you would think
I was drugg.

Speaker 6 (38:23):
It's a tricky bridge to the breathalyzers.

Speaker 4 (38:25):
That's it.

Speaker 3 (38:26):
It's unnecessary.

Speaker 6 (38:27):
They literally want you to stumble into the breathalyzer.

Speaker 3 (38:29):
I almost asked for breathalyzer one time. The furthest any
cop has ever gone with me is they've shone their
light in my eyes at some point when they pulled
me over, and I was like, am I good?

Speaker 10 (38:37):
All right?

Speaker 3 (38:37):
I'm out here?

Speaker 6 (38:38):
Is it just me?

Speaker 1 (38:40):
Or do the people who feel the need to jog
in place on the street corner because the light is green.

Speaker 3 (38:48):
That's me.

Speaker 6 (38:49):
Are they annoying?

Speaker 1 (38:50):
Hey, we get it. You're jogging. You can't stop, not
even for a light. You have to jog in place
just to show it me. Hey, I'm still jogging. I
never stopped jogging. Why I'm a jogger and I always
jogg Get over yourselves.

Speaker 3 (39:02):
Stop jogging for a second, is he?

Speaker 4 (39:04):
You didn't have to tell us that was you. We
know that's you.

Speaker 6 (39:08):
The reason you said I was talking directly into your soul.

Speaker 3 (39:11):
The reason you don't stop is because once you stop,
it changes everything. I've got to keep going. If I stop,
I get comfortable. It's like, man, I don't want to
start up again. You just got to keep the same pace.

Speaker 6 (39:20):
Get over yourself.

Speaker 3 (39:21):
I will not Jake's story Alley Neggs.

Speaker 1 (39:25):
We will get to the one hundred greatest baseball Players
of all time, the one hundred greatest dot com. It's
the top one hundred baseball players of all time according
to a guy named Jake. But before during the break
here is he had some odd tennis takes that I
wanted him to share with the audience.

Speaker 3 (39:41):
If you don't mind, now, I have to trash Taylor Fritz.
It's okay. So Taylor is very good at coming up
with names that connote such and such, and so when
I said this might have been a freebie for him,
when I said things were on the Fritz, and he
said Taylor Fritz, and then he said athletes that cannote dysfunction,
and he hit us with Jordan Star, which was great.

(40:01):
It made me think of how much it's not that
I dislike Taylor Fritz specifically.

Speaker 6 (40:07):
Well, it seems like you do.

Speaker 3 (40:08):
It's just what he represents in terms of American male tennis.
It's like when I grew up, I used to like
skip school to watch Andre Agassi or maybe Pete Sampers
every once in a while, and you know, a lot
of times those guys cashed in. I was not a
Courier fan, but he won some majors as well. And
ever since then, we got the one from Andy Roddick
in the US Open, and it's just been a bunch

(40:29):
of disappointing dudes. And that's all that Taylor Fritz continues
to disappoint And it's just like, Okay, what he represents
I don't.

Speaker 4 (40:35):
Like he looks like a country club.

Speaker 3 (40:37):
Well he does. He has put it on the poll.
Just Taylor Fritz look like a country club like Ben
Shelton wins something.

Speaker 1 (40:42):
Please please, So what you're saying is good but not
good enough?

Speaker 3 (40:46):
Yeah, and like, look, I get it, you're in the
wrong area. You're in the Aero Fed and the doll
and Joker and now sinners up there with an alcaaz.
But be one of those guys. How about we develop
an alcaaz here in the US.

Speaker 6 (40:58):
I mean, those guys are great, is it?

Speaker 3 (40:59):
Ave? Is he skipped school to watch agacy or samprs.

Speaker 1 (41:04):
Skipping school for opening day is one thing, I mean,
But to watch a tennis match.

Speaker 3 (41:09):
It really only happened during the French Open because I
think it's the only one that lined up with Hey,
these matches are happening in the day here Eastern Standard time,
and they're big ones.

Speaker 10 (41:19):
I have never cared about a sporting event enough to skip.

Speaker 9 (41:21):
School, really, wow, I mean out other than going to
opening day.

Speaker 3 (41:26):
No NCAA tournament that didn't make you want to skip
school a little bit? Come on?

Speaker 1 (41:31):
Not a tennis match though, I mean really that's just
the point was.

Speaker 3 (41:34):
I just didn't need to go to school that offen
It was just kind of an annoyance.

Speaker 6 (41:37):
Have you seen the Nadal documentary? Have it not?

Speaker 3 (41:41):
Do they address why he doesn't work out his right arm?

Speaker 6 (41:44):
No? No, no, then, Raa, I got you, man.

Speaker 4 (41:48):
You were hurts.

Speaker 6 (41:49):
We get it, you were in pain, your foot hurt.

Speaker 3 (41:52):
I got it, I got you, I got it.

Speaker 6 (41:55):
That's the entire movie.

Speaker 1 (41:56):
The whole thing is Rafael the doll and his foot
not being able to fit into a sneaker.

Speaker 4 (42:01):
I mean yeah.

Speaker 3 (42:03):
Most of the times when I see like the subject
of a documentary, and if it's an athlete, I'm like,
do I think they have a really interesting story? No,
I'm not gonna watch that one.

Speaker 1 (42:14):
I mean, Ravas is interesting. He played an entire career
through pain. But we got it right.

Speaker 3 (42:20):
You know how many people play through pain?

Speaker 10 (42:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (42:22):
Yeah, I'd like to bring that game back.

Speaker 4 (42:24):
I got you. I got you from Mark Cockman Staple.

Speaker 1 (42:27):
Hey, Rafa, I got you. You're hurt, you're injured, you're
not feeling good.

Speaker 3 (42:32):
Gotcha.

Speaker 1 (42:33):
Anyway, let's get to this list of the one hundred
greatest baseball players.

Speaker 6 (42:36):
Thank you for sharing your tennis takes with us.

Speaker 3 (42:38):
Yeah, no problem. Thanks for pushing at me.

Speaker 1 (42:40):
It was a private conversation he didn't want to blast
Tailor friends. He does look like a country club, there's
no question about it. We left off at number fifty eight,
trist Speaker, I would like to mow through as many
of these names as possible because I'm tired of this
damn list.

Speaker 4 (42:54):
Your boat you muted.

Speaker 10 (42:58):
I was gonna say, yeah, you don't love this list.

Speaker 3 (43:00):
I don't love it.

Speaker 6 (43:02):
I don't know what's good.

Speaker 3 (43:03):
I don't like it.

Speaker 6 (43:04):
Tony Gwynn at eighty something is unfair. It's just wrong.

Speaker 3 (43:07):
It's exciting from us.

Speaker 1 (43:10):
Why come on with us when we're promoting his website
every single day?

Speaker 6 (43:14):
All right?

Speaker 1 (43:15):
So fifty seven, Mikey fifty eight again, was Tris Speaker
a great player back in the forties. I think you've
been earlier, No earlier than that, realiens, Okay, sorry.

Speaker 9 (43:26):
Number fifty seven our third active player Freddy Freeman.

Speaker 3 (43:32):
Really, man, Taylor, you put him on this level because
I know he's won a lot and he's done some stuff,
But like, for some reason, I don't consider him on
this level.

Speaker 7 (43:40):
I think Freddy Freeman has earned his place on this level,
especially with this recent Dodgers run. But Vlad Guerrero was
below Freddy Freeman, and my gut tells me Vlad Guerrero
in his prime was better than Freddy Freeman.

Speaker 3 (43:55):
Oh yeah, your gut is one hundred.

Speaker 1 (43:56):
Well, your gut doesn't need to tell you that I
saw him both in their primes. I sound old when
I say that of Vlad.

Speaker 4 (44:01):
Guerrero was better.

Speaker 6 (44:02):
It's why I don't like this list. Number fifty six.

Speaker 3 (44:04):
Before you go there, You know what I think of
when I when I think of Freddy Freeman, immediately fake teeth.
That guy's got the fakest teeth I've ever seen in
my life.

Speaker 1 (44:13):
The F and Freddy stands for fake teeth. How about
that number fifty six?

Speaker 9 (44:18):
Oh Jake, I had such high hopes for you, and
now I'm very disappointed you.

Speaker 10 (44:22):
Picked the list fifty six. I understand number fifty six.

Speaker 9 (44:26):
Anybody want to take a guess, fifty six being the
key number there?

Speaker 6 (44:30):
So who's the best fifty six?

Speaker 1 (44:32):
Joe Demagio, Joe DiMaggio, number fifty six, Well, it should
be top fifty six game hitting streak, right, yeah, he
should probably be in the top ten.

Speaker 10 (44:40):
No, probably, Yes.

Speaker 3 (44:43):
You know what that used to be a number that
I knew right off the top of my head. I
was like, oh, I get that reference. It took me
a minute. I was like, wait, what what did he wear?
Number fifty six? And I was like, oh, yeah, the
hitting streak. It's almost like if they didn't make that
movie sixty one by now we'd forget that that was
the home the big home run number so long.

Speaker 7 (45:00):
Now I know he's doing a thing, trying to be cute,
putting here at at fifty six. Not cute Jodanmaggio last
three years to military service. How much higher on this
list would he have been up if he didn't miss
the forties for a World War.

Speaker 6 (45:13):
I want the top one hundred.

Speaker 1 (45:15):
I don't want cute, Okay, like I don't the next
guy at fifty five. I don't want him at fifty
five because one year he get fifty five homers.

Speaker 4 (45:21):
Maris was sixty one.

Speaker 3 (45:24):
Goosebumps. I just googled, told me what my one is?
Joe DiMaggio at top twenty player in baseball history Immediate
AI overview. Yes, Joe DiMaggio was widely considered a top
twenty player in baseball.

Speaker 1 (45:38):
Allot according to Jake number fifty five cute Ye number
fifty five Alexander who.

Speaker 3 (45:48):
Literally don't know who that is.

Speaker 9 (45:50):
That's a starting pitcher from nineteen eleven to nineteen thirty.

Speaker 10 (45:53):
I'm sure he had good.

Speaker 1 (45:54):
Rover Alexander number oh, Grover H's a whole different person.
Grover Alexander one of the greatest pitch of all time.
I mean, Peter Alexander.

Speaker 6 (46:03):

Speaker 3 (46:04):
Taylor good at him back in the day.

Speaker 10 (46:06):
Number fifty four, Christy Matthewson pretty.

Speaker 1 (46:09):
Good, Okay, Yeah, can you look up how many wins
Grover Alexander had, Taylor.

Speaker 4 (46:16):
Three seventy three.

Speaker 6 (46:17):
Jesus Christ what a career compiler? Yeah, how many years?

Speaker 1 (46:20):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (46:20):
But Grover Cleveland pitched in the era when they had
double headers and it was like Grover Cleveland's in for
his seventeenth inning of work today.

Speaker 3 (46:28):
Yeah, yeah, three man pitching rotation. Yeah, you would have
went yard on Grover right.

Speaker 7 (46:33):
Hey, Grover Cleveland just threw his six hundredth pitch today.

Speaker 6 (46:36):
Whose voice are you doing?

Speaker 4 (46:37):
And then he pitches tomorrow too.

Speaker 3 (46:39):
Well, he's combining old school broadcasters with like kids got
gumption with gangsters back in the day.

Speaker 7 (46:45):
It's a seven game series and Grover Cleveland's pitching every
game this series.

Speaker 6 (46:51):
That was a time man.

Speaker 1 (46:53):
If I gave you ten at bats against Grover Cleveland,
heaven he hits it, you're getting Taylor nine for tend.

Speaker 3 (47:02):
I mean, a time machine would be the greatest thing
in the world. Just just to prove him right wrong.

Speaker 1 (47:06):
Can you look up Matthewson's numbers? Check out his wins.
I want to see his win total. I want to
hear his wind total.

Speaker 6 (47:12):
And when did he pitch? By the way, he's.

Speaker 10 (47:15):
Look Christy Matthewson pitched. She pitched nineteen hundred to nineteen sixty.

Speaker 3 (47:19):
Jesus christ.

Speaker 7 (47:21):
I just looked up on Google. Grover Cleveland. They estimate
his fastball reached low to Maitland eighties.

Speaker 1 (47:28):
Grover Alexander. Yes, Grover Alexander, Grover Cleveland, Alexander.

Speaker 3 (47:32):
I believe, yes Grover from says Grover Cleveland, alexand GCA, Yes,
what another president. I'm tired of the list.

Speaker 6 (47:42):
I hate.

Speaker 3 (47:44):
I feel like any president back they could probably average
at least two hundred. Then let me plow through it.

Speaker 10 (47:49):
You guys keep talking about.

Speaker 6 (47:50):
It, all right, plow through. Give us five names right now.

Speaker 9 (47:54):

Speaker 3 (48:04):
Rose Taylor, Derek Jeter not making the tough fifty.

Speaker 6 (48:07):
I gotta tell you, it's the first time I've agreed
with Jake.

Speaker 7 (48:11):
Yeah, all these analytic people do this thing with Derek Jeter. Oh,
he wasn't that great of a fielder.

Speaker 6 (48:16):
All right, take us to the end here, Just rattle
off names and numbers.

Speaker 9 (48:19):
Go forty nine, Kurt Schilling forty eight, Carlia Streemsky forty seven,
