Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Oh Heartbreak, Heartbreak, Welcome into the plank, show boarded a
border coast to coast worldwide. As the Great Big Ben
Mallard would say, in the air everywhere, not only on
the vast Fox Sports Radio app. They might be listening
to us in space, I say the Fox Sports Radio App.
(00:25):
I meant all of our great affiliates of Fox Sports Radio.
They might be listening to us in space on the
iHeartRadio app, Heartbreak Listen. I know everybody's having a good
time right now because the Knicks are up two games
to none, and my Sunday Night partner, Arnie Spanier, is
on cloud nine. He feels like he called this, though
(00:48):
I would also add, and I don't think Jason's necessarily
guilty of this, but most Nick fans pretty much call
their team winning every series and just about every game
every single time they play. So I don't know if
you can claim call this and told you, but the
(01:09):
Knicks are cooking right now. Things are looking good. The
Cavaliers bounce back in a big way tonight. More on
that in just a bit. One part of me is
elated because my beloved Sooner softball team is off to
the SEC title game. Let's go. But I made a
decision over the last few weeks that I was going
(01:31):
to join a group. I was going to become a
part of a very prestigious group, and that group was
obnoxious over the top Oklahoma City Thunder Homer. Now, some
might say this is considered bandwagon jumping. That's fine, guilty.
I live here, pay taxes here, I do all the
things that are necessary to say I can root for
this team. Some might say it's just because the Lakers lost.
(01:53):
I would say, shut up. But in all reality, I
dig this team. I've liked this team. This version of
the Thunder is incredibly likable. Mark Dagnall, I think is
an outstanding head coach. He draws praise from everyone in
the business. Shay Gilgess Alexander is a lovable leader. Their
(02:14):
supporting cast, which even has an All Star, you know,
Jalen Williams. Jadob's an All Star. I think Chet Holmgren,
They're gonna have a decision to make on if you
commit to him as he a foundational piece obviously, and
then lou Dort is just like lou Dort. You get
all these pieces, I say, Joe Aaron Wiggins, the other
Jalen Williams. I mean, it's just it's a really fun team.
(02:36):
And I haven't even mentioned Alex Caruso yet. But despite
all of the accolades, despite being the top seed in
the West, despite breaking all kinds of regular season records,
they have somehow, some way consistently crumbled in crutch time
in this playoff series against Denver. And some would argue,
(02:58):
go back to last year against Mavericks two. I mean, PJ.
Henderson had himself a series, Luka Doncic was amazing and
Okase was out in the second round. Fast forward three
hundred and sixty ish days later and they find themselves
in the same I don't know. Pickle might be the
term that I could use here, because in all reality, okay,
(03:20):
see okay, here's the homer coming out. Ok Se should
be up three games so non in this series. I mean,
that's just that's the reality of it. They should be
up three games to ZIP in this series. They lost
in the final seconds in Game one on an Aaron
Gordon three when Chet Holmgren missed two free throws in
some terrible, I mean terrible strategy played out late in
(03:43):
that game probably should have won. To night absolutely wet
the bed down the stretch because of some terrible decision making.
It happens, but usually not whenever you're dealing with the MVP.
But here's the stat that will blow your mind right now.
Courtesy courtesy right now. Currently in the world of X slash,
(04:07):
Twitter slash social medium, everyone is kind of in a
fight to see which stat they can find that best
exemplifies how implausible of an implosion and a meltdown. This was.
Here's a couple of my favorites for you tonight. Number
one courtesy of my guy Cade McFarland TV dude in Tulsa.
(04:30):
One hundred and forty nine minutes played in this series.
So think about that, three games one hundred and forty
nine minutes. The Thunder have trailed for only seventeen minutes
and twenty two seconds, and they trail the series two
games to one. I got a couple more fun ones
if you guys would like it. This one was pretty
good about just the overall shooting implosion. This is courtesy
(04:55):
of my buddy TJ. Eckert, another TV dude in a Tulsa.
Here's how the Thunder closed out the final four minutes
of regulation in ot in games one and games three.
In Game one, they went one for ten in the
final four minutes of regulation from the floor. In Game
three they went two for sixteen, including overtime, two for sixteen.
(05:21):
That's terrible. Let me let me go ahead and zoom
that in a little bit. Oklahoma City made two shots
in the final nine minutes of regulation and overtime. And
now they go into a Game four on Sunday. Wait,
is that right on Sunday? Oh my gosh, you gotta
(05:42):
deal with Arnie. After they go down three to one,
they'll be playing under the most pressure they've had all year.
And maybe, you know, I still think they're young. I
still think they've got a bright future. But that's another
incredible short coming in the playoffs. And you would have
to think with all of their draft capitals, suddenly they
(06:04):
might look around and say, Okay, let's go get another piece.
Let's go spin these these picks that we had in
the and I still think they have some for the
Paul George trade of the Clippers, all the picks we
got from the Rockets, and the Russell Westbrook trade, all
these picks and pick swaps that we have in a cachet.
Let's let's go make a move and try to get
us some baller. So there is a lot on the
(06:25):
line Sunday for Oklahoma City. Well that rant out of
the way. I say, good morning, good evening, good afternoon,
wherever you might be. I know it's good evening in
Los Angeles, where our co host, our zen, our hope
will make me feel a little bit better about this
OKAC collapse. Brianda Morrow is hanging out. What's going on, Briandon,
(06:48):
How are you? How was your week?
Speaker 3 (06:49):
I honestly don't feel like we should be in panic mode.
I truly don't think I'm listening.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Okay, by the way, hey, kudos to you.
Speaker 4 (06:57):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
You know you should you shouldnt have thank you for
what you should have come in here beating your chest
playing the game. If I told you so.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
You know why about the Knicks, Well no, no, no.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
Not about the Knicks that that's still to come. We
gotta get there. I gotta I've got to dip. I've
got to ease into the Knicks here a little bit. Okay,
we go, we gotta take her time, ease into them.
I'm still in this pain from Oklahoma City tonight, let
me slowly take this band aid off instead of ripping it.
I said last week that I thought whoever was coming
out of that Clippers and Nugget series was going to
(07:30):
be exhausted, done, finished, And you're like, I don't know.
Fact you said it wouldn't surprise you if it's not
a rejuvenating force going forward. And you were right. You
were right. They took home court advantage away from Oklahoma City.
They split the first two games. Brienna, you are a soothsayer.
You hit that on the head and I disagreed with you.
(07:52):
Yeah you did.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
And then you called me like you said I was
sucking up to Monty and that because I.
Speaker 4 (07:57):
Was rooting for the Clippers.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
That's right, and so and so.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
Yes, so Denver is validating me because I felt like
if they beat the Clippers, they were going to come
together and be like, oh hey, like we're playing for
each other and all the drama, with all the head
coach drama and firing what's his face, Mike, what's his name?
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Oh my god?
Speaker 3 (08:14):
Yeah, Andrew take over and now they have this camaraderie altogether,
and now they feel like, oh my god, we can
take over. But I am going to say I still
have total faith in Oklahoma City because these these are
like minor mistakes. I mean they're huge mistakes. Don't get
me wrong if that led to losses, but you build
off of them. So I mean Sunday is going to
be huge. I think they can bounce back and then
(08:36):
they're going to get the confidence. I don't believe in momentum,
just like Ben Maller, but I do believe in like
a shift in confidence and like belief in like your team.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
You know, oh yes, there you go, well.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
Done, well done. I believe see, I believe in momentum.
I think you have various different opinions on on a
lot of things, but I will say in this in
the play in the NBA playoffs, so I feel like
I've learned that it's not as important from game to
(09:09):
game as we like to make it out to be.
I agree with you on that. Because Oklahoma City just
beat Denver on they're doing every other night. Thankfully the
NBA is stretching this one out, but so this would
be hold on today's Friday, right, so there's a good
Wednesday night. They just beat him by forty you know,
(09:29):
they just beat him by forty and then to come
back and lose. Say hey, shake Gilgus Alexander, who apparently
sucks now according to everyone who watched this game tonight,
was plus fifty. I spit, I got so excited plus fifty.
Oh terrible and denied he was just bad. All right,
Well you got me feeling a little bit better about things.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
I truly believe.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
So I think these are definite some mistakes that you
just kind of grow from, you know, And that's and
that's the whole point about being a young team, right
you recognize your errors and and then the next game
you just adjust. It's all about adjustments exactly.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
By the way, I did want to give a shout
out real quick before I get going. Good evening, mark
big week for Chicago, buddy, I mean, how about that? Well,
the Pope is from your your your town. Let's go Ramsey.
You gotta be on fire.
Speaker 5 (10:16):
I'm watching how Chicago people are fighting over what team
he pulls for, and that's the main thing, okay about
anything else, but who is he? What baseball team does
he like?
Speaker 2 (10:25):
I laughed, Probably one of the harder I guess he
could say Pope related laughs that I've ever had whenever
they magically find video of him at the World Series
in his White Sox giar and like, how do you
find that? Like there is nobody sitting around, Like, didn't
I see him in that shot when the White Sox
were in the World Series about twenty years ago. Honey,
(10:47):
get the VCR pulling that tape of the White Sox gamebody.
Speaker 5 (10:50):
Playing around at a computer putting that stuff on the internet.
It's just completely crazy. How much free time and creativity
is there to go around?
Speaker 2 (10:59):
Oh man, oh dude, well, Mark, I hope you've had
a good week. Man, I'm mischopping it up with you
guys this week through my pain I mentioned you know
we are company live from the Fox Sports Radio studios,
and again I take this show. This is the final
weekend that the show will be on the road. Is
it the rest of the summer. I'll be home in
my Goldsby Oklahoma Studios. We went, We've taken you everywhere
(11:23):
across the SEC. We've been in Columbia, Missouri. We've been
in Gainesville, Florida. We've been in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. What am
I leaving now, Brock? Where else have we been? Texas?
Speaker 4 (11:37):
Were in Texas.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
Were we in Texas? Yeah, yeah, yeah, we were in Waco.
I have live studio audience, I do, but Brock is
here with me in my studios tonight. Yeah, but I
have a studio audience of one. We're all work, We're
all burning the midnight oil because I was listening. We
were listening to Jason Monson before we came on, and Brandy,
(12:01):
you'll get a kick out of this. We got a
game tomorrow and we all found out about two hours
ago that the game time is being moved up. So
basically we're gonna sign off at five am Eastern Time
and pretty much go back to work. So grinding, burning
the midnight oil. But first time, first time in the
history of the overnights of the Plank Show on Fox
(12:22):
Sports Radio live studio audience. You're usually in bed right now, right, dude, Yeah,
he's I don't think he wants to be up right now?
Is that usually the case? Isn't that usually the case
with everyone who's up at this time of.
Speaker 4 (12:37):
Night doing something or right.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Right or right studying. This is the second you say that.
This is the second straight week that I'm in the
middle of the graduation. Last week I was in Gainesville
this week. Is I'm an ath did I'd say that
I'm in Athens now? No, okay, I'm an Athens, Georgia.
I'm in the University of Georgia this week in great campus.
But no one. I don't know anyone can get anywhere
on this campus. There's nowhere to drive. There's like one
(13:03):
lane roads everywhere. I don't know. I don't know how
anyone gets in and out of this place on game days.
If there's any Georgia Bulldog fans, I'd love to hear
from you tonight at Plank Show on X That's at
Plank Show. Because I'm not kidding guys, I've walked around
this campus several times because you know me. I'm a walker.
You know I'm not a non exercise guy. I'm a walker.
I'll go get my walk in a lot of hills though, Mansia.
(13:24):
The calves are burning, ready to go Armanseck. I'm trying
to make you, Boncia, Brianna. My calves are burning. I've
been walking up and down hills all week long. But
I don't know how anyone gets out of here. Like
it's almost like if you come for a game, because
that's a nearly one hundred thousand seat football stadium for
Georgia Sanford Stadium. I don't know how anyone gets out.
(13:45):
It's almost like there's ingress but no egress. And once
again it's like, hey, I hope you had a good time.
You're staying all week long, but it's graduation weekend and
they did it on the football field and it was bananas.
So I really cool experience this year. But it's the
final night with me fighting for a hard line Internet,
which always throws people whenever I'm on the road for
(14:08):
a loop. Excuse me, sir, listen, I need a hard
line for your Internet. And the looks you like, what
you know? Were you plugging into the wall? Hold on?
Let me check? No one ever knows? I mean, is
it that hard? Is that hard?
Speaker 4 (14:20):
I would have to think twice. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
It's just I guess it's how you word it, like
I would have to I guess the Internet?
Speaker 4 (14:27):
What's the thing on the wall? Is that just that's
what they call it?
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Right? Yeah? Yeah? The Internet? Is that where you plug
into the internet? Yea, yeah, yeah, do you have that?
Do you have that? Yeah? I mean in your room? Anyway,
I've got more than just grinching and moaning over the
Oklahoma City thunders implosion. We got a busy show tonight,
and when we come back, I have a true heartfelt
(14:51):
question because when I think about this show, I think
a lot about this show. I want to do a
good show. I want to get your calls. At eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox. We in fact, I
say it a lot. If you know what you want
to talk about before we dive into the monologue or
any of our back and forth, just jump right in
and we'll get right to you at eight seven, seven
(15:12):
ninety nine on Fox. Twitter slash x is very active
throughout the program at Plank Show is a very easy
way to find us at bree br I e Denise
twenty six, or you can find us at Fox Sports Radio.
Like I said, I'm working on the text line. I'll
probably get approval for it with the last week of
(15:33):
the show. That'll be my luck. But I take this
show very seriously, as crazy as that might sound to
regular listeners. And I feel like in my nine to five,
in my day to day life, I live, eat, sleep,
and breathe college football. But right now, a lot of
the college football conversations aren't that fun. They're just kind
(15:56):
of mundane, and unless you're really really into college football,
they're a little bit boring. So I want to pose
a question to you guys when we come back. Plus,
we had NFL rookie mini camps that are taking place,
So what does that mean? That means one rookie makes
two catches and suddenly everyone starts telling you how great
they're gonna be. The number one, number one story in
(16:19):
the very short history of this radio program has been
the future of Aaron Rodgers, and I feel like we
did get another twist and turn on that front this week.
And gosh, I mean, listen NBA playoffs, beyond just what
the Lakers, beyond just what the thunder are doing, you
got the Celtics in peril, you suddenly got the Nicks
who looked like a championship team. The Calves punched back,
(16:42):
and you know, I don't know what to make of
the t Wolves Warriors series. Whenever everyone seems to talk
about Draymond. We'll get to it all coming up on
a busy night with Brie and Mark, I'm playing this
is Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 6 (16:52):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
All right, it's the Plank Show overnight all night here
on Fox Sports Radio eight seven, seven ninety nine on
Fox eight seven, seven nine ninety six six three sixth night. Okay,
show meeting. Here's the question that I have. I could
probably pull back here just a little bit for those
that are unfamiliar. And you know, Bernie Fratto does this
(17:28):
show and has done a great job. And Bernie said, hey, man,
I want to take some time cut down to one
shows like great. I think that's smart. You know, did
the four hour show on Saturday night. This is this
is key. You know, if you can get your sleep
pattern right, three hours on a Friday night taking your
calls is awesome. And Bernie's he set the foundation, he
set the standard. But I have a little bit of
(17:51):
a different Maybe the best way to put it is background.
I'm not a big gambling guy, because I really as
you can tell by the Plank part, it's like zero
for three in the last few weeks. It's not going well.
But I also it's not legal where I live, and
I'm a big college guy like I live, eat, sleep,
breathe college football, college basketball, baseball, softball. I mean, I
(18:16):
live on a college campus. I love college sports. Now,
that makes the biggest supporter of this program Shady Sean
for twenty, who apparently has birthdays on April twentieth. I
guess that makes him very disappointing because he is not
a college sports fan. But for me, personally, I love
college football. I think it's the greatest sport on the planet.
I think it runs laps around everything else. But I
(18:38):
get it. I'm in a college football town, kind of
like those of you that love hockey. When you're in
a hockey town and you don't understand why it's not
talked about more. It's just because not everyone's into it,
and not everyone is into college football for some unknown reason.
You crazy people. So here's my question, Brianna Mark. We
have so much going on in college football right now,
(19:00):
the potential shift to fourteen or sixteen teams, the playoffs,
and in that, the potential shift of a nine game
conference schedule, including the SEC, who's been an eight with
a potential crossover game every year with the Big Ten.
You've got a different way in which the guardrail is
going to be set up, which is a very big
buzz term in college sports. Guardrails for NIL. Maybe some
(19:23):
new rules to get a better understanding and control of
the of the transfer portal. It's a lot of It's
a lot of nerd talk, right, But I guess my
question is for this show, do we care about the
NCAA football stories in the future of the game. And
here's my evidence so far. We had absolutely zero reaction
on the Nico conversation three weeks ago. In fact, so
(19:46):
much so it literally made me question everything about college
football's place in the overnight talk show landscape. I mean,
think about it, Rihanna, we were I'm like, are the
phones working? Is everyone okay tonight? I thought it was
a to be a hit.
Speaker 4 (20:00):
Yeah, huh, you had.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
A big time. Ye had the first I guess you
could say, hold out. Yeah, the first trade in college
football essentially and crickets. So is is my like on
my local show? I do a local show on our
affiliate KrF. We did three hours for the most part
on the potential shift from twelve to fourteen or sixteen,
(20:25):
and we took reaction all show long, right, just NonStop.
I just don't know if anything outside of the games
are really gonna move the needle that much here from
you know, one to four am Central Time on Fox
Sports Radio. What do you think as as the co host, producer,
(20:45):
and the vibe of this show, Brianna, what's your feel I.
Speaker 4 (20:49):
Agree with you. I think we're just not there yet.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
I think just the NBA, like the playoffs are so
interesting right now, We've gotten some other college football storylines
that are dominating the news cycle. You know, some relationships
now the Bill Bell checked up. That's right, that's pretty interesting.
And then I feel like even the NFL and the rookie,
all the rookies this year. I mean, Cam Skataboo was
(21:15):
in the news. There's some drama with Abjil Carter about
what number he's going to pick. I mean, there's just
so much happening. So I think it's a timing thing.
I think if that were to have like that, those
news were to break in like July, I think we'd
be being we would pay more attention to it.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
And it could I mean it still could, Yeah, it
totally could.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
Mark Where do you stand on this? In college football's
nerdy takes? At this time of the year. Is it
too much to try to cram it down everyone's throat
right now?
Speaker 5 (21:42):
It's just too many moving parts if you're not really
up on. Too many names, too many people, too many situations.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
And it did get Trump involved. What it did get
Trump involved.
Speaker 5 (21:55):
Well because he likes to find a little thing to
pick on, and so he can make a big deal
of this.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
I here's just a here's the why. I think behind
a lot of people, it's almost it's almost like that friend,
I'll use weight here instead of like something really dark
by that friend that always tells you, hey, man, i'm
gonna die. I'm gonna lose some weight. Okay, that's great, congratulations,
I'm happy for you. And every time you see them
(22:21):
they're fatter. It's like you don't want to ask, like
how it's diet going. You just know that it's not
going well. I feel like college football's like that, and
college sports in general, to where they always tell you, hey,
you know what, we're fixing this, got this fixed, that's great.
What's it gonna look like, don't know, but it's gonna
be great, and your response as a fan is okay.
(22:42):
I kind of feel like it's in a show me,
you gotta show me. It's something I've heard a lot
in my relationships. Might give me an idea about how
things have gone in my life. Actions speak louder than words.
It's like you can say all you want, right, but
until it actually happens, and until you do it, it's
(23:03):
it's just gonna kind of be ignored. And I don't know, Brit,
I kind of feel like for college football and the
powers that be, we're in a hey, we need action
here before we can truly feel like you're getting anywhere,
that it's gonna come to some sort of agreeable place
with what your playoffs are going to look like, and
also then in that what your overall salary structure is
(23:25):
gonna look like. And maybe just maybe most of you
are like I don't I don't care. When's the game?
When does Alabama play Georgia? When is Oklahoma play Texas?
When's the Auburn Alabama game? Right? I mean, these are
the types of things that I think on a national stage,
while interesting, when you have a net Go story like
we did, we just kind of look at it and say, bro,
(23:47):
the NBA playoffs are going on Fox Sports Radio is
in every major NBA market right now. The NFL mini
camps like you brought up are taking place, and we've
got the Bill Belichick story that everyone's got an opinion on.
You got reports that I think are false, but people
are doubling down on them, and North Carolina is saying, no, no,
it's not the case. I mean, I just it's it's
(24:07):
a big story. But I kind of feel like BRIZ
as a team, we're saying, that's a really really minuscule
market right now for the people that are living, eating, breathing,
and dying fourteen or sixteen teams in the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
I agree with you, I think so I'm going to
I see we can agree on staff.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
I knew we could.
Speaker 4 (24:27):
I knew we could look at us.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
Here's the unfortunate thing right now. Here goes though, it
goes to three o'clock hour for the show this morning.
Because you're right, I mean you CA's are right. I
will just say this in moving on, college football is
either really close to getting this figured out or really
(24:49):
close to furthering the frustration one of theo I can't
figure out which one it is right now. But at
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine six six three sixty nine. Check in and help
me out on that front. Now back to the NBA,
real quick, beyond my thunder whining, beyond everything that has
taken place Earlier Tonight, Thunder lost one thirteen to one
(25:12):
oh four and overtime. Aaron Gordon did it again with
a big three that helped force overtime. Shay Gilgess Alexander
was just not very good down the stretch for OKC.
Earlier today, the Calves beat the Pasers won twenty six
to one oh four, and you kind of got the
feeling that it was just a matter of the Cavaliers
getting healthy, getting Ovan Mobley back DeAndre Hunter both played
(25:34):
for the first time. Dari Scarland was back and Donovan
Mitchell scored forty three points. They looked like the team
they that we all thought they were going to be.
They want tonight by twenty two points. Well, listen, those
two stories are great. I can sit here and talk
about the Thunder all I want, Brie. We know what
everyone wants to talk about. It's either the implosion of
the Boston Celtics or the resurgence of the New York Knicks. Now,
(25:58):
my man Arnie Spanier had already taxed me like three
or four times. Let me know that this series is over.
I'm a firm believer that Boston is not done. In fact,
they domin. They've done to New York pretty much what
OKAC has done to Denver. They've just spit the bit
during the biggest moments of this game. Is this Boston
mismanaging things? Is this Boston? I think the term today
(26:19):
that they were fighting on the debate shows, is this
Boston being arrogant? What's going on? I think I think
the Knicks are just this good.
Speaker 4 (26:28):
That's okay, Yes, there you go, Okay, you buying that. Yeah,
I was gonna say it.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
I filtered about it, cut you off, But like, no,
I just feel like the Knicks are clicking. This is
the time for They're just clicking on all cylinders. They're
finding the way, and they're they're rambunctious and they're and
they're fighting and they're resilient.
Speaker 4 (26:46):
And you know, I'm a.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
Big mckel bridges like believer, hardcore, like with my whole heart.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
Yeah, you've been all in on that despite everything he's
gone through. I mean this this like three shows in
a row where you're like mickel Bridge Is that a
sun thing or something? What is that?
Speaker 1 (26:59):
Yeah? Yeah, he was his son.
Speaker 4 (27:01):
He was his son.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
I mean, you know he was traded when the whole
Kevin Durant thing, Sam and Cam Johnson you know, went
to you know, Brooklyn. But like I mean, Jason Smith
wanted to trade him like two weeks ago, and I
had to hear the promo for like two nights straight,
and I was.
Speaker 4 (27:14):
Just like, see me.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
I tweeted at Jason after the game was over, and
I was like, this slander is done in fairness.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
I'm pretty sure Jason Smith has wanted at some point
to trade every single player on this New York Knicks roster.
And I love Jason, but like I said, I probably
listened to his show more than anything else because it's
probably on more than anything I I guess it's interesting
to me because I felt like in the East there
was a slam dunk, and I felt like that slam
(27:43):
dunk was Boston and Cleveland. I didn't know in the
West because Clippers were playing well, the Nuggets. You know,
they have Nikole Jokic. You just never know, though, I
felt much better about potentially playing the Nuggets and the Clippers.
We see how that's gone so far. But I felt
like the East was real easy to figure out. I
wasn't given Nicks a chance in hell, and I I mean,
(28:04):
I don't know what Boston's doing right now. They have
always been relying on the three, and it's worked for
a bit and then it just bottoms out. I mean,
I don't. I'm not a basketball want to be coach,
but like attack the rim, you know, try to try
to make something happen with your offense. You're watching what
(28:24):
appeared to be two very elite offenses during the regular
season in Boston and Oklahoma City that have been unable
to get things righted whenever it's crunch time, right and
it just doesn't make any sense to me. Meanwhile, you
got Tom Thibodeaux cracking jokes that you know, he's smiling
(28:45):
like Jalen Brunson is kind of taking that captain's role,
and everybody loves their captains in New York and look
ingret I mean, they're they're partying like the series is over.
I think I think it's good in the NBA that
the Knicks are good. I do. I think it's great.
I think it's hard for us here on Fox Sports
Radio because we have to deal with Arnie and Jason.
(29:06):
But that's fine. I can live with it. But in
all reality, I mean, the NBA has got to be
over the moon excited about this. They've got to be
you know, I'm not a big believer. I'm gonna contradict myself,
so just give me a second. I'll bring it full
circle around. It maybe makes some sense, but I feel
like we do over exaggerate the importance of market size.
(29:28):
I don't think it's as big of a deal as
at once was. I don't think that you need to
have New York in LA in every World Series or
Super Bowl or well obviously super Bowl, but NBA Finals
to get big numbers, right, I think you can do it.
Golden State wasn't a draw. No one cared about the
Golden State Warriors. Then all of a sudden they went
(29:49):
a title And the biggest draw maybe that we've seen
in recent history in the NBA TV ratings wise, is
what Golden State. They've been incredible. So I don't think
you have to be a major mart or in a
major market to get big time ratings and get big
time juice. But with all that said, you know, doesn't
hit a little bit different when it's the Knicks. I mean,
(30:10):
it just it hits a little bit different. And I'm
not trying to say that in a way that is
pandering to New York Nick fans today. I think you
all feel it and see it. There is a there
is just a little bit of a different buzz whenever
it comes to the Knicks, and part of it might
be because they just really haven't been I don't want
(30:30):
to say they haven't been good, because they've been a
good team, but you know, they haven't been to the
conference finals. Gotch how far back do we have to
go since the Knicks were in the conference finals two thousand?
We got to go back to two thousand, the last
time the Day were in the conference finals. They haven't
been in the NBA finals since nineteen ninety nine, and
(30:54):
they haven't. My goodness, when was the last time the
Knicks actually won a title? Nineteen seventy three? Willis Reid,
you know, one of two for the Knicks. So I
guess it is all it's there's not necessarily a Cubs
feel to them because they have won a couple titles,
but they just they're that team that hasn't been able
(31:17):
to get over the hump. And they've always had big
time players and big time names and the big time coaches,
and now all of a sudden, here they are with
Tom Phibodeau and you're like, oh, okay, but maybe this
team is it. They had their you know, I thought
one of their better teams was the twenty twenty twenty
(31:38):
one team. That was the first year for Phibideau. That
was that was Julius Randall most improved player. They lost
to the Hawks in five games. The Trey Young series
kind of put Trey on the map. They've won a
playoff series in each of the last three seasons, only
to get eliminated in the conference semi finals. Now they're
up two games to none over the Celtics. You know,
(32:01):
I guess it's fair to say that there are trival
I mean, let's go so as much as I know
this is a pain that I'm gonna have to feel
to have to deal with my partner Arnie Spanier. And
this is again seeing that the Knicks don't totally bottom out.
Brief final thought before we grab a break, it just
(32:23):
adds a little bit of something else in the NBA.
Fine NBA playoffs when you have the Knicks as one
of those teams, right, I.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
Kind of feel like the Knicks are like the forty
nine ers of the NBA. Like I don't think they've
won as much as the forty nine ers, but just
as just like as a franchise of just being known.
And I think when the forty nine ers are doing
pretty good, I just think they're just one of the teams.
Speaker 4 (32:44):
Yeah, it's good for the league.
Speaker 2 (32:46):
It's good for the league. So eight seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox eight seven seven nine nine six six
three sixty nine, let's get in here. Let's talk a
little NBA playoffs. By the way, speaking of that Nick
Celtics series, how we do in Boston? How are we
feeling right now? Is this? You know, you just want
a title? So I don't know if the Bill Simmons
(33:06):
rule applies here, especially since he's a Boston guy and
a Boston fan. What is it five year reprieve that
you get. You're not allowed to complain for five years
after you want a title. But if you get like
swept out by the Knicks that year after that, I
think you might have room to complain if you want
there seems to be. And it's funny because I always
(33:27):
push back against the debate shows. But this morning they
were talking. They were talking about the arrogance of the Celtics,
and it's one of those situations where I'm like, that's
a very arrogant team right now. I mean, even listen
to their coach afterwards, it's like, what are you doing?
It takes some responsibility dive into it. Next, let's get
in here. It's The Plank Show, Through the Night, all
(33:49):
night right here on Fox Sports Radio. Hey, be sure
to check out our YouTube channel, the Fox Sports Radio
YouTube channel, tons of great videos from many of our
Fox Sports Radio shows. All you have to do is
search Fox Sports Radio on YouTube and you'll see a
whole bunch of video highlights from our programs. And be

our Fox Sports Radio videos on YouTube. The show's all
(34:11):
about you. Anything else that you had on your docket
on your agenda today, Brie, that you wanted to get
to before we get to calls.
Speaker 4 (34:20):
No, I don't think so.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
I don't good about things.
Speaker 4 (34:22):
Yeah, I'm really excited.
Speaker 3 (34:24):
I just think, like I said, I'm all in on
the next I might get a m caelbridge's jersey. I'm
not gonna lie the white one.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
I don't know number. What number is?
Speaker 4 (34:32):
See by the way, Yeah, that's a great question.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
So do you do you then? Do you then become
a breed anise? Let me see her. I'm sure I
could find is it ten? Hold on, we're not the
show is done. We're not. We're not doing anything more
until we see what number twenty five? It'd be an
easy change. Breeding needs twenty five?
Speaker 4 (34:51):
Right, Kyle Korver mckelbridges.
Speaker 5 (34:55):
You know she's going for her phone right now.
Speaker 4 (34:57):
Ordering it as we speak.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
All right, Well, we have a leadoff hitter here all
right now, and he's been pretty solid, so he sets
the table for the rest of the program. Steve in
Kansas City, Good morning, Good afternoon. What's up, Steve? How
are you? Man?
Speaker 7 (35:12):
Oh man?
Speaker 8 (35:13):
We can always move the needle on Friday night, That's what.
Speaker 9 (35:16):
We do here.
Speaker 8 (35:17):
And Taylor Swift just got thepeded, so the needle's already
been moved.
Speaker 2 (35:22):
Kit.
Speaker 8 (35:22):
Taylor's going to court.
Speaker 7 (35:24):
Taylor's going to court.
Speaker 8 (35:25):
Baby Jo to testify. She's gonna testify. Listen, don't worry
about the thunder. We take our licks.
Speaker 10 (35:33):
We move on.
Speaker 8 (35:34):
I you know, you know what we're we know what
we're talking about. We're talking. We're talking about Jordan Hudson,
the Miss USA passion Tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
You called it, You called it, bri you called it.
Speaker 8 (35:47):
Gold, going for all the gold after she was banned
from the UNC training facility, and that now she's not banned. Listen, HBO,
just on a HBO on a double triple the money
for hard knocks. I'm here for all of it. I
want her. I want to see her running Oklahoma drills
(36:08):
on the field. I want I want jordans all all day,
all the all the time.
Speaker 7 (36:15):
I want her.
Speaker 9 (36:16):
I want her.
Speaker 8 (36:17):
Uh uh, you know, coaching special teams for U n
C assistant coach for special teams. I cannot get I
cannot get enough of Jordan Hudson and Bill Bill Bell.
I've got a question for Breed too. I gotta I've gotta.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
Okay, go ahead, go ahead, okay, okay.
Speaker 4 (36:35):
I'm here.
Speaker 8 (36:36):
This was the this is the week of the NBA
playoffs are so good that that Timothy shallow May and
Justin Bieber had to skip the met Galla because they're
watching the n b A and NHL playoffs. Now do
you do do we get into trouble if if you
have to see if you can want and Spike Lee
(36:58):
went to the met Gala and he meant that the
greatest mixed game in history because he went to the
met Gala. But the young guys were, we're staying we're
staying strong. Now, what kind of trouble Timothy shallow May
took took his lady, took Kylie to Rome after to
try and make it.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
Up to her.
Speaker 8 (37:15):
What kind of trouble are you in if you stay
home and watch the game instead of going out tom
or a wedding or something like that.
Speaker 2 (37:23):
This is this is your best question of bri yet,
thanks for the call. This is good. Now here's where
I bree. Can I just go ahead and just interject
one thing before you answer. I feel like you'd be
a little bit different in this instance, because I think
you would be fine with going to the game. Right.
You're probably built different whenever it comes to this, but
(37:45):
not a lot like my wife would not. I mean,
it don't matter that this pays the bills. If I
miss birthday or if I miss the met Gala, I'd
be in big trouble right now, So what where do
you stand on this?
Speaker 3 (37:56):
Yeah, I'm totally different. I would not care. I would like,
I wouldn't want to go to the met Gala and
I wouldn't want to do any of that. I'd rather
just stay home watch the game. And Timothy Shalomy doesn't
need the publicity. I always say, the people that always
go to the met Gala, they wear these obnoxious, crazy
outfits and they need their like two minutes of fame
to be like, don't forget about me.
Speaker 4 (38:17):
I'm still here, I'm still around.
Speaker 3 (38:19):
Timothy Shallamy is dating a Jenner, right, so like, yeah,
there you go, so like he doesn't need to be
out there.
Speaker 4 (38:26):
No, no, thank you. I'm glad.
Speaker 3 (38:28):
You know what, I think Steve knows more about pop
culture than I do. I didn't even know Taylor Swift
was summoned in like a jury thing for the Lively thing.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
Yes, you know what, Steve by I feel like he's
doing a really good job as our leadoff hitter. He
really is.
Speaker 3 (38:43):
He's like my TMZ little recap. I'm like, oh, I
had no idea.
Speaker 2 (38:47):
He'd by take this show from a sports show to
more of an entertainment he's a resident gossip girl. There
you go. We need one. We need one, thanks Steve. Okay, listen,
I'm not really in the business of trying to promote,
like who's coming up next, because we don't have guests.
But I see blind Scott. It's on hold, Blind Scott.
It's not called in in a while, professional radio caller,
(39:09):
kind of a rock star in that world. And he's
got some cakes on the knicks. So he's coming up
and I'm ready for it. So hanging there. We'll kick
off hour two with blind Scott. I got a line
open if you want to jump in. At eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven nine ninety
six six three sixth night. We're head to San Diego.
We're heading to Charleston. We're head to Massachusetts. We're heading
to Manhattan. What would be the cheesy end of that?
(39:30):
We're head to your cow next, pick up the phone
and call us and the Twitter at Plank Show at
Bredan East. Wait what twenty six or twenty five?
Speaker 4 (39:39):
Now, I'm all come for twenty six? Now, yes, it'll
be the.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
Number threw me off with. The cow Bridge is breeding
these twenty six, So get in here. Our one in
the Books. Hour two Blind Scott coming up next on
Fox Sports Radio. Stick around You.
Speaker 1 (39:56):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio?
Speaker 2 (39:59):
Yeah yeah, you heard that Live from the Fox Sports
Radio studios. Borded a border coast to coast from Sherman Oaks,
California to Athens, Georgia, baby home of the Bulldogs. Lots
of hills, lots of hills, and Oh. I went for I.
Like I said, I'm a big walker. I went for
(40:20):
a walk and I walked down the street and there
was like fifty fire trucks. Never seen anything like it before.
And I went into a gas station. I asked the lady,
I'm like, what's going on. That's a lot of fire
trucks and it's all around this gas station. Everywhere around
this gas station, Brie, you would think that the person
would have an update. She looks at me, she goes, oh, no,
like there's like twenty fire trucks, like they're fifty. You
(40:42):
don't know, I don't know, Like I guess it's fire,
maybe a fire. And at that moment, I was like,
you know what, you're right, maybe it's fire. I just
it was the most easy. It was the easiest answer,
and the most common answer, and I just thought to myself,
all right, you're just ready to clock out, maybe like
some of you to not, you're just getting You're just
getting to the end of your day. But I love
(41:05):
I've loved my tour of the SEC and I'm glad
that everyone has come along with us here on Fox
Sports Radio through the overnights. Do you have a favorite
place that I've been, Bri, I kind of liked Missouri
because we never knew if drunk people were going to
stumble into our studios that were in the upstairs bar.
That was always That was a little nerve wous.
Speaker 3 (41:24):
I was going to say that was my favorite one,
just because you said that the rooftop bar people were
going to come down in the elevator, and so you
were always on Bard.
Speaker 2 (41:32):
When we were in Columbia, Missouri, we stayed in a
really nice hotel and there was a rooftop bar, which
right Brock there was a rooftop bar, and it was
a part. Hey, it was a party. And our area
where we had our studios were was in the very
very downstairs, like below the lobby, and every drunk person
(41:53):
on the planet would not realize that they missed the
lobby and you could hear them. I'm in there like Grant,
you and I are. What are We probably ran and
raving about it. That probably draft stuff, probably about if
Worship or Sanders could get drafted, and all of a
sudden you'd hear in the background it's like that look
like the bar, you know, just people stumble it all
over each other. It's been fun. We've learned a lot tonight,
(42:14):
as you just heard from Nazi, the Nuggets go up
two games to one on my thunder. How much trouble
are the Oklahoma City Thunder in b You say not
to worry too much, So I'm here with you. Stick
with us. A little bit later on you'll hear from
Mark Dagnaalton his excuse Senator Calves bounced back. They take
Game three to cut into the Pacers lead one twenty six,
(42:34):
one oh four. They got everyone back. But of course,
all eyes in the NBA has been on the New
York Knicks as they square off against the Celtics in
Game three tomorrow, and I believe as we go to
the phones at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox,
that's where Blind Scott wants to start. What's going on?
Scott longtime though, talk man, How are things for you?
Speaker 10 (42:53):
Pretty good?
Speaker 11 (42:54):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (42:54):
I listen on the weekend. I really love the show.
It's hard to gain traction when you're only on one
night on the weekends. But it's great you're letting people react.
I know. Charlie Baker, I don't know if you've seen him.
He's president of the n Yeah, he knows me. He's
a blind Scott you know, me and him used to
work together. He was the governor of Massachusetts. But hey,
(43:15):
you know the thing is, after the next game, you
look at all these people. They were underneath the hoop
at the Boston Garden. Did you see that, like eighty
Knicks fans? You know, Oh yeah, well that's illegal, Chris.
If eighty Celtics fans showed up in Oklahoma City and
did that, you guys in Oklahoma would have them like
and cops their faith touched against the court. You'd have
(43:37):
the sheriff's in there, they ride in there, and horses.
You know what. You know, Boston police are the best
to let this fly. They were saying, if somebody pulled
the fire on two, they were, so we're gonna let
this go as long as possible, you know, I don't
know what game you guys are watching either. Go ahead
the first they missed all those three pointers. I mean,
I know you guys are watching the game better than
(43:58):
I am because I'm blind. One game went to overtime.
The Celtics could have won both games. Joe's letting them
just keep playing. Chrisoff for a thing. It's has been terrible.
He's got like the Uda pipping stain from the Boston
Marathon running down his backside. I mean, Paul Pierce, Paul Pierce,
you know what I mean. He's making it's putting. He's
(44:19):
doing like a paddle Bryan like putting himself. He's making
himself the center of the whole story, you know what
I mean. The Celtics nation is totally lost right now.
You know, I'm supposed to call people out when they're
cringe either, but Annie Spaniard, he's being really cringe, you
know what I mean. Like, Yeah, New York Knicks fans
are being really cringe too, Like act like you've been
(44:39):
there before, you know what I mean. They're only down
to it to nothing. I think the Celtics will come
back to When I only live four blocks away from
the Guide and I wouldn't be that exported if the
Celtics got eliminated. It's very you know, it's hard around
here during this time of year. You can't handle all
these people. This city was built in seventeen eighty, you
know what I mean. But there's no way the Celtics
(44:59):
lose the We're not on in the Tri State area.
I can't stand people from the Tri State area. You
look at these people from these boroughs in New York.
Oh my god, they're so crassy. I live in the
North end of Boston. We have a Northeast Battalion's here.
They're all this trance who These people are so scary. Man,
they don't know basketball. And you guys are jumping on
(45:21):
their band wagon too. And you know, this Arny Spaniard
guy's your partner on the weekend.
Speaker 2 (45:25):
But the way you're a.
Speaker 10 (45:27):
Great radio guy. You can tell Chris is a really
good radio guy because of by the way he goes in.
You go in and out of the breaks really well.
Not a lot of radio people can do that anymore.
They don't even have real people working in radio anymore,
you know what I mean. I've been to Detox down
there in Georgia before I'm sober now, but I didn't
like it. They make you do farming and everything, you
know what I mean. They have a lot of great
(45:49):
place to rehabilitate yourself down there, though. But the Celtics
will win the next game. You're gonna listen to this
Cleveland radio right now. They have this radio, Mark get there.
It's a small radio market there, but the people are
going crazy there. People could call in from Cleveland. They
are losing their mind on the Cavs. Like I didn't
(46:09):
realize that they had such a passionate radio. Marketerry, that's
a really nat fan. But that's the best radio I've
ever heard. I've been listening to it this week. I
mean I've never I'll let you guys go, but I
love this show. I hope you guys can get another night.
I can't call like into Ronie and Chris before Ben
Maller because you can only call one show a day
on Network. I used to call Art Bell. He hated me.
(46:31):
I'd call the show two times that he said one
time a night. I mean, I was a big eye Bell.
I was a big eye Bell that I man.
Speaker 2 (46:39):
Mit. Yeah, good here for you, Scott, have a good one. Buddy,
appreciate the phone call, good stuff, blind blind Scott covering
a myriad of topics. Do you remember I blind Scott
would know this, so you're not allowed to answer blind Scott.
Art Bell had two rules, Mark, Brie, either one of
you remember Art Bell's two rules that.
Speaker 5 (46:59):
He had only dial the number from their particular coach.
If you were in the Rockies, you couldn't call it.
Speaker 2 (47:04):
Okay, that's very good, that's very good. That's not that's
not one of the rules. That was because he would
always say East of the Rockies, Hello, West of the
Rockies on the first time caller line. No, they're good,
guess two rules. Only have two rules, no bad language
and only one call per show. And it sounds like
my guy, blind Scott was a habitual line stepper when
(47:28):
it came to that. To Art Bell, I'm a big
art Bell guy. There might be some nights whenever this
show gets over, and to get myself to sleep, I
listened to a little Art Bell, blind Scott calling his shot,
saying that the Celtics will come back and win this series. Brie,
what percentage chance are you giving right now? And I
(47:49):
don't know why I'm pounding the table and yelling and screaming.
What percentage chance would you give the Celtics right now
to come back and win this series?
Speaker 3 (47:57):
On I won't give it a forty eight percent?
Speaker 2 (48:02):
Oh okay, okay, a little bit low than blowout, a
little bit blow half. And I'll say one more thing.
This isn't to defend Knicks fans. You say, act like
you've been there. In fairness, they haven't. They really have it,
they have it, neither have the Mats. Mats haven't won
a World Series since eighty eight, so they haven't been there.
(48:23):
I just I think the thing that cracks me up
with the Knicks is this. They got off to a
good start what was like two years ago, and there
was this same kind of energy and there's the same
kind of vibe. It's like bro beingbong. You're ten games
in the season. What are you doing? Well, we'll see.
I like the makeup of this team. I like even
though Jalen Brunson has one move and is to get
(48:45):
you in the air and then jump into you. I
like the way that I like the way that they've
played around them. All right, let's get back to the phones.
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven
nine nine six six three six nine. Let's see where
do you? Oh? Poppy is in se and diego Poppy.
What's going on? Man? Welcome to Fox Sports Radio. How
are you hey?
Speaker 12 (49:04):
Good here?
Speaker 2 (49:07):
I'm good? What's going on?
Speaker 13 (49:09):
Well?
Speaker 9 (49:09):
That was an amazing call from Blind Scott, you know,
from Boston and wow, like you know, going after a celebrity,
you know, it's just an honor and you know, being here.
Speaker 12 (49:17):
But like I got a.
Speaker 9 (49:18):
Lot on my mind of you know, shout out to
my mentor over there, Ben Miller, and I was talking
about there, you know, since you're talking about the next
I'm going to give you guys a picks. I mean,
you guys want to hear my free picks. But like
everyone's going against the Celtics. You know, they're like saying,
you know, go New York, Go New York, go, like
you know, like it it's a party, you know, the
Knickerbockers like Patrick Ewing and John Starts. I mean Arnie,
(49:41):
I think you guys got to be careful because Arnie
is the kids of Death and I think he's going
to do the opposite to the Knicks. And the one
thing you guys got to know is like, I think
the NBA Adam Silver is going to be having a
refend here. He's been out for a while, so I
think Scott Bosher is going to be here. He's not
going to help the home team, right, which normally I
would tell you guys, take that. He's gonna be the
(50:02):
opposite way and he's gonna help the Celtics. Actually had
the honor and I worked with Jason Tatum. He's really
nice and humble. Shout out to you, Jason Tatum number zero.
And I feel like everyone's bashing. I'm saying he did
bad this and that. But it's a bounce back game
for who the Celtics minus five. We're gonna take him.
Jason Tatum's gonna perform good even to the first half
(50:22):
minus two and a half. It's a revenge game. It's
a revenge game, and they have this circle. They're gonna
come out strong. And you know Madison Square Garden over
there in New York, you're gonna get hit by Scott
Boxer and you guys are gonna know his name if
you know what it is, you're gonna know his name now.
So that's my take on the Celtics and the other
game I wanted to talk about is the Minnesota Timberwolves.
(50:45):
That game is gonna be the third one with you know,
Steph Curry's out, We're gonna go where you know, We're
gonna go with the greatest player right now, the youngest
young young guy, Anthony Edwards a man, and I thought
he's just gonna dominate the you know, golden seat.
Speaker 8 (51:00):
They only have no.
Speaker 9 (51:01):
One, So it's a revenge game for them too. On
revenge factor. It's a revenge game because they lost at home.
Then they're gonna do the revenge and they're gonna be strung.
I believe the line's a minus six or six and
a half. Wherever you guys go, it doesn't matter. We're
gonna go with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Oh oh, the last
one I was gonna tell you the UFC. I know
(51:21):
you guys want to hear UFC Big UFC fight tomorrow,
Bill Mohammad against Shake. The line is minus one eighty
and Bill Muhammad's given disrespecting. It's the champion and there's
a big implications on this match he wins. Who's the
next opponent for a matad or Is it gonna be Chris?
You know or is it going to be Islam? So
(51:43):
you know Bill Mohammed, he's going to show up and
minus one eighty, he's going to be the champion and
show you why.
Speaker 13 (51:49):
He's the best.
Speaker 9 (51:50):
So doesn't my fist blank?
Speaker 2 (51:52):
All right, buddy, Thanks Poppy, I kind of I gotta
be honest with you, I think. And by the way,
how sweet is it to Poppy? And I did use
the term sweet, not like in oh, isn't that sweet?
It's sweet, Poppy calls Ben mallor his mentor. I mean,
it's that's that's good, well done, Poppy. I think I'm
kind of into Poppy's analysis more than ama his picks.
(52:12):
I think I go from Poppy's picks to Poppy's breakdowns.
I like it, Poppy, I like it. Listen, I I
love We had a boxing conversation not too long ago
on the show when we lost George Foreman, we lost
George Forman. I love boxing. I cannot get into whatever's
going on now. I'm trying. I'm trying so hard. I'll
(52:35):
I'll watch the hype things leading up to it, in
the walk down of the ring, and it's I don't
know anything about this guy, and you know, Poppy gives
me a good breakdown, and I know this is terrible
because it's Fox Sports Radio. And I guess, even if
we don't know anything about a sport or a player
or an individual, we got to sit here and pretend
like we do.
Speaker 1 (52:52):
Well.
Speaker 2 (52:52):
I can't. I can't bs you guys, I don't care
about boxing right now, and I want to. Now. You
can get into a uf SEE conversation and we could,
you know, light the light to night on fire, but
boxing just does. It's lost me and I don't know
why we need a heavyweight. We need good heavyweight now
Tyson Frey's one hundred years old, so I'm not there anymore.
(53:14):
I just we need a heavyweight. Thanks Poppy, thank you.
All right, before we grab a break, let's get one
more in here. I love Drum, Drum and Charleston. Welcome
to the show. What's going on Jerome?
Speaker 7 (53:25):
Between tomorrow games, I mean games today and tomorrow, we're
gonna start seeing some chet and flying because they're getting
down and dirty. Nine. That's fourth Corner with Oklahoma and Deva.
Oh hey, Devera play some defense. He plays some defense
rebounding Oklahoma. But there's gonna be no walkover. Now that, Hey,
(53:47):
you ain't going to the next time that easy and Sunday, Oh,
I can't wait to see that one and that Boston
New York game. Oh, make sure you gotta choose your mouth.
He's in okay, because that's gonna be a rough deal.
That god con Why where do you don't get damn
(54:09):
something sure about? Because they gonna tear the roof off
of that place tomorrow. We don't find out what you
got boton. Hey, Jason tannem better have your clutch being
ready because you just might need it.
Speaker 2 (54:21):
All right, I like your calls short sweet to the point.
Boston's playoff run last year to the NBA Championship. Five
games in beating Miami in the first round, five games
in beating Cleveland in the semi finals, a sweep of
Indiana in the Conference finals, and then five games in
(54:45):
the NBA Finals, like they they completely and totally, I
mean the domination. They dominated the entire run. I was
trying to look here real quick. I don't think I
don't think they trailed in any series, and they went
on to win the NBA title. Now you got real life,
(55:09):
real world adversity, and we'll have to see how they
handle it. Yeah, they won the first game in their
opening series against Miami, won the first game in the
opening series against Cleveland, and then let's see, they swept.
They swept the next round in the conference finals. So
they won the first game there and just double checking. Yeah,
(55:29):
they never trailed a series in their run last year.
So now we got to find out how they respond
to adversity. I see your I see you coming in
from Boston, Luke Canyon there eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox eight seven seven nine nine six six three
six nine. We're at a nower cow, New Orleans, Manhattan
and Boston coming up next. It's The Plank Show on
(55:52):
a Friday night into a Saturday morning right here on
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 6 (55:57):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sport talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio

Speaker 2 (56:10):
Got a couple of X submissions. People get mad now
if you call it Twitter anymore. And then there's me
who just can't make that adjustment, Brie, I just can't.
It's like, hey, find me on Twitter, and you'll always
have someone that'll be like where where, like Twitter, it's
you know, still you can get there on Twitter dot com.
It's X. It's very small group of people, but they
(56:33):
really trigger me, really trigger me.
Speaker 4 (56:34):
I still say Twitter. I can't say X.
Speaker 3 (56:37):
I can't say X, and people are like, oh, find
me on X and I'm like, oh, you're Twitter.
Speaker 2 (56:40):
What is that? I need to join another social media site.
A couple people checked in here. My man, my man.
Gunny has been a huge, huge, huge Plank supporter today.
He said the end of the first SEC semi final
today had an epic call. It would be great to
hear it. No, no, no, no, Gunny, Well that's your
(57:01):
boy kind of lost his stuff, might have blacked out
in the middle of it. But maybe I'll save that
for Sunday night. But I'm glad you're uping Adam. Gunny
at least I know is on a different plane than
I am right now. Very envious of that. Jason B.
Diamond Morning Evening, Jason, he writes, to the Knicks go
up three zip tomorrow, Plank may take a sick day,
bre may need to fill in for him. If the
(57:23):
Knicks go up three zip, I might take tomorrow night off. Wait,
hold on, yes, tomorrow night off. It's officially Saturday everywhere,
isn't it. So yeah, I'm I'll be deeply thinking about
taking the day off, though. There is just this thing
with the Knicks, and again I go Jason said this earlier.
I thought I thought Jason and Moncey were awesome tonight,
(57:46):
and I thought Jason brought up a great point. He said,
sometimes you worry about these teams, and for some reason,
it's in bigger markets where you just wonder how they're
going to handle success. And the Knicks, based on their
are a great question, are a great answer, great example
of a team that you can question on that front.
(58:07):
So Jason, maybe we can at least have it two
to one and I'll feel a little bit better about
things tomorrow. OSSI was after hearing Poppies. I'm sorry he
might have misspelled this, he writes, after hearing Poopies picks
put all your money on the Knicks and the Warriors.
You think he misspelled that, You think that might have
happened maybe, And then nature boy, the Clippers had a
(58:31):
chance to possibly sweep the Nuggets and it fell apart.
They just managed to make the big plays and frustrate
their opponents. You know, what's wild is I was in
that quick little look back we did on the Celtics
run last year, the Thunder got taken out by the Mavericks.
Thunder winning is the one seed, you know, the Mavericks
(58:53):
beat in the first round. Clippers Nuggets are now two
games to one on the Thunder, whom they being the
first round the Clippers. Maybe the key to beating the
Thunder in the playoffs is it take the Clippers out
the series before? Eh? Maybe so? All right? Eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety
six six three six nine pre hold on my phone
(59:14):
is frozen up? Where do you want to go? Where
do you want to go? You want to go to Mike?
Speaker 4 (59:18):
Let's go to Mike and Manhattan fingers crossed?
Speaker 2 (59:22):
What's up? Mike? How are you? Bud stuck?
Speaker 10 (59:25):
Plank?
Speaker 14 (59:25):
I'm going to talk about the Knicks, and before that,
don't want to talk about Okay, seem just terrible.
Speaker 7 (59:31):
I thought they would have learned.
Speaker 14 (59:33):
From Game one when they dominated Game two, inexcusable down
the stretch there to blow up that game.
Speaker 10 (59:39):
Like they did.
Speaker 14 (59:39):
I don't know what SGA was doing. That's gonna win
MVP and he's just made two critical airs down the
stretcher to allow Denver to hang around, and Gordon did
it against and lose. I still think they might win
the series in seven, but I'm not sure it's a
toss up series now. So the way they blew that
(01:00:00):
game and Tonight's the last night's game, is disastrous for
the team. Does the best team all all season, as
far as my Knicks go, let the Celtic keep shooting
themselves out. Their style play is unsustainable to me. They're
not the Warriors with Curry, Thompson, Durant, and.
Speaker 7 (01:00:17):
I don't know what the hell.
Speaker 14 (01:00:18):
Missoula is doing saying that's what we do. The reason
why they allowed the Knicks to rally both games is
the ree ball consistently fails them. Last year, obviously they
were able to win the title get by, but how
many times.
Speaker 7 (01:00:32):
Have they failed?
Speaker 14 (01:00:33):
And the reason why is they try to play that
style ball that the Warriors do, who have three of
the greatest shooters of all time with Curry, Durant and Thompson,
and that's not them. Tatum and Brown stupidly not attacking
down the stretch allows the Knicks to go and Brunson
and Bridges og. They're all taking advantage of it, so
(01:00:53):
it's critical if they win, and hopefully they win Game three,
it's over. But I'm still not oldly not because for
some reason, and the Celtics are actually better on the
road than they are at home. They're bizarre teams. So
I'm hoping Game three is going to be massive. So
the Nick's got to play this like in the Game
seven because if you give that opening the Celtics, they
could still win this series. So it's going to be
(01:01:14):
rocking at the Garden, and hopefully they take care of
business because the Celtics are that's not a team that's
going to be a dynasty, like all these talking heads
and experts think. I just don't think the style play
is sustainable, and I think they're just going to be
a team that wins that one title. I just I
feel like their style balls just not going to be
because Tatum and Brown aren't aggressive enough. So hopefully the
(01:01:34):
Nicks get it done and it should be a Knicks
Pacers Eastern Conference final, WHI should be an epic battle
in my opinion, Oh your thoughts.
Speaker 2 (01:01:42):
I have to have thanks for the phone call. By
the way, if it's Knicks Pacers, Man, I might, I
might really be feeling a little bit of nostalgia around here.
You know, it's a big year for me. I turn
a big number birthday wise, right, But you take me
back to my teams when we're talking about Nicks, Pacers,
Reggie Miller versus and listen, I know they've met since then,
(01:02:03):
but come on, that's all I got. Boston at home
this year twenty eight and thirteen, Boston on the road
this year thirty three and eight. There was only one
team that only had eight losses all season on the road.
It was the Oklahoma City Thunder. So to Mike and
(01:02:26):
Manhattan's point, he's right. I think what's wild to me
is Boston. And you know he's he used the term
not sustainable, and I agree with him in the way
that they've just been shacking up threes. They are in
the series so far, twenty five for one hundred in
(01:02:48):
two games, ten for forty in the second game, fifteen
of sixty in the first game. Now, Boston, excuse me,
the Knicks shot the lights out in the first game.
But I mean they're they're only shooting thirty eight percent
from beyond the three point line. They were nine of
thirty one in Game two. I mean they've shot sixty
(01:03:11):
eight threes in two games. The Celtics have shot one hundred,
So maybe you look at both of them and they're
kind of playing a little bit of unsustainable ball. Just Boston.
I don't understand. Teams do one of two things. And
again I'm not trying to go like beat coach he
or anything like that, but I'm just saying what I
(01:03:33):
see is teams do one of two things. They either
go into a shell and try to eat as much
of the shot clock then throw up a wild, wild
shot whenever you get down to the closing minutes of
a game and you're trying to milk a lead, which
Boston did both games one and two. So you either
have that approach or you have the thunder approach where
just one guy tries to take the game over. You know,
(01:03:54):
if it's unfortunately for OKC tonight it was SGA. He's
just terrible. So expect him to be better in game four,
and you expect Boston be a little bit more aggressive
whenever comes to attacking the rim. All right, back to
the phones. Mark is in New Orleans here on Fox
Sports Radio. What's going on Mark, what's going on?
Speaker 15 (01:04:13):
Man?
Speaker 11 (01:04:14):
First time call. I just got to say, I love
the way the Knicks are playing. I love that grittiness
and that fight. It reminds me of those old school Knicks.
I'm a person who does not own one single piece
of Jordan apparel, lieutennis, shoes, nothing, because I was a
Knicks fans. I refuse to buy anything Jordan. But it
just feels to me a little bit like Boston has
(01:04:36):
lost these two games as opposed to the Knicks really
winning them. But even though I love the grittiest in
a fight, just feels like that because in both games
they had these big husuly twenty point leads and then
they by shooting these threes. They just let the Knicks
back in and we see that all over the NBA. Now,
guys pass up layout layups and they kicked the ball
(01:04:58):
out for a shot that if you hit thirty five
percent of them is great, But that just means you're
missing sixty five percent of those shots. So you know,
I really don't get that. I don't get that game
plan and why don't adjust? Why is it that situational basketball?
You got a twenty point lead, attack the rim, go
in I mean, two points still works. Make the other
(01:05:19):
team shoot desperation threes. I just think there's a better strategy.
But of course I'm sitting on the couch.
Speaker 2 (01:05:26):
So hey, let me ask you this real quick. Just
on the Knicks, right, is it kind of wild how
once everyone got healthy, it really seems as if they've
gelled together. And the big question is always does Tom
Thibodeau does he wear his guys out? But it's almost
as if once they had an opportunity to get everyone healthy.
(01:05:48):
Even though I'm sure if I don't know what the
minutes would look like for brunts and they probably look
pretty deep, I feel like they've done a pretty good
job and how they've managed minutes in these playoffs so
far too where no one looks war out.
Speaker 11 (01:06:00):
Yeah, I mean, and that that kind of creates that.
But then you look at the style of basketball the
Knicks are playing, and nobody's worn out. But you're right
about that, the way he makes those substitutions and people
are coming in. But their style of basketball is just
you know, that's what that's what you normally do, is
what we used to seeing. I mean, I love that myself,
because they go in and go inside, they're fighting on
(01:06:22):
both ends of the court.
Speaker 10 (01:06:24):
You know, I just yeah, I just I like that better.
I just don't think even if they.
Speaker 11 (01:06:30):
Beat Boston, I don't think they could come out of
EA stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:06:34):
Thanks, thanks, call buddy, appreciate it. Man. That's Mark in
New Orleans. I will say, it's kind of funny when
you think about, like by one of my best friends,
Toby Rowland. He's the voice of the Singers, and he
is a Colts and a Bulls fan I'm sorry, sorry, sorry,
Colt's and a Pacers fan. Like now, he's a thunder guy,
but he grew up being a Pacers fan because he
(01:06:56):
was in Indiana and a Colts fan. And two of
the most tonic athletes that we talk about in these
amazing moments, Michael Jordan and Tom Brady's like, I can't
stand him. I can't stand him. Every great moment that
Brady had seemed to come against Peyton Manning and obviously
Michael Jordan ripped the Pacers' hearts out consistently. Right. So
(01:07:17):
it's funny because when Mark in New Orleans says I
don't even own Jordan's You're like and then you're like, oh yeah,
why would you if you're a Knicks fan. He constantly
constantly buried you. All Right, Andre is in Massachusetts, great caller.
What's going on? Andre? How are you? Man?
Speaker 13 (01:07:33):
Chris Hello, good to be with you. Now. Listen, I'm
glad that we're talking about the New York Knicks right now.
Given the fact that Tom Thibudeau is my coach.
Speaker 10 (01:07:43):
I'm pleased that.
Speaker 13 (01:07:44):
That Breed has come on over porting Michel Bridges. She
believes as I do firmly in Lacosnova. Okay, in terms
of Bridges, Josh Hart, Jalen Brunson, we are missing, as
you know, within the nixt commun unity, we call him Ragu.
That's the Vincenzo who's with the Minnesota Timberwolves and doing
(01:08:05):
big things over there. So what Ragu is certainly mixed. Okay,
But I'm really encouraged that de Breed is showing us
the support the no to the Nova Knicks. Now here's
what it comes down to, And I do want to
talk about had Denver Nuggets backhanded the Oklahoma City Thunder
and smacked the taste out of their mouths tonight and
got rid of that whole idea of them being the
(01:08:25):
number one seed in the favorite which I had, but
now that my confidence in them is shaken. But we're
gonna stay in the Easterns Conference with my favorite team
led by my favorite coaching, Tom Thibodau. Before I get
up and add it here tomorrow, we cannot come into
this game over confident. People talking about the Celtics and
the Celtics being arrogant. O de's the case, honestly, and
I'm going to do really quickly. With the Celtics. They're
(01:08:46):
missing Jeff van Gundy, who took his talent to the
LA Clippers. They're missing Charles Lee who took his talent
to the Charlotte Hornets.
Speaker 2 (01:08:52):
There is a.
Speaker 13 (01:08:53):
Strategic deficit that I'm surprised that Brad Stevens didn't go
ahead and fill. I feel like that's why the Celtics
are rudderless now in terms of and this idea Joe
Mizula can go toto tototoe with Tom Thimbadeau. It's preposterous.
Tom Tibodau's basketball lifer, Shau Missoula is new to this, okay,
So I feel that we have the strategic advantage, But
bottom line, this is far from over. The surch true
(01:09:14):
championship team. We need to get tomorrow's game. I will,
I will, I will understand. If we lose close, we
cannot lose by double digits. We cannot let this team
up off the canvas. So Tomorrow's feel it's going to
be bananas at Madison Square Gardens. The Knicks need to
get the victory over to the Western Conference. You've got
people behind you, a lot of talented folks. It's a
lot of ballgames. Denver Nuggets and Trump. I can't support
(01:09:36):
them because of how they treated Mike Malone. That so
they're out for me. But how do they navigate? How
they navigate this playoffs? Clippers with a healthy Kawhi and
and institutional stability, they don't show up in Game seven,
they get Mike Tyson knocked out, and now they have
the thunder on the ropes. This Denver team is for real,
and it's looking like the twenty twenty three team rather
(01:09:57):
than the team that lost to Minnesota last year. So,
Oklahoma City, you've showed your colors. The inexperience is a
real thing, and the West is wide open. Whoever can
go ahead and get it the East I love, It's
just the Knicks and Celtics with Cleveland on the prow
it's a beautiful thing in the NBA. Thanks much taking
the time. Go New York, Brianna, Go New York.
Speaker 2 (01:10:16):
Go. I talk to you, Brianna.
Speaker 4 (01:10:19):
No THEA Knicks, man, I'm I'm a full believer. No,
THEA Knicks.
Speaker 2 (01:10:25):
Yeah, mean too. I like it. Well, let me say
I don't. I can't go all in and say I
believe that they're going to go win the title or
anything like that. But I love I love this team.
And you know who's got to be kicking themselves more
than anyone right now is Mavericks fan. It's been a
terrible year for Dallas, Mavericks fan, terrible year. You traded you,
(01:10:47):
you traded your now in your future and Luca who Yeah.
So the Lakers got basically, I mean they ain't get swept,
but swept out of the playoffs by the Tea Wolves.
So you kind of got a little laugh there. But
you're also watching a guy in Jalen Brunson that you
know Prenko was not given an opportunity to stay in Dallas.
(01:11:08):
So that's gotta hurt you even more. Could you imagine
for a moment Jalen Brunson and Luka Doncic on the
same team. Oh my gosh, be oh wait, hold on,
it happened, and it was in Dallas. But that was
a different Jalen Brunson. He wasn't quite the player that
he is today. I I'm a big Jalen Brunson fan
and I and I've always dug Josh Hard. I thought
(01:11:31):
he was a very very underrated player and as a
admitted and you know sometimes Lakers homer, I thought that
he was a guy that probably could have played, could
have been like a Michael Cooper with the Lakers, could
have played his whole career there, but you know, you
had deals to make God to go get Anthony Davis
and then his career, you know, took off and did
what it's done. And now he's he's a tough dude.
(01:11:53):
He's an enforcer type for the Knicks. I love the
makeup of the Knicks roster. Your thoughts on the sideline matchup.
Your thoughts on coach v coach? Do you give the
big hat tip check Mark sharpie, whatever you want to do?
Do you give the edge to Fibodeau and that I mean,
(01:12:16):
you've got a ring on the other side. I know
that sounds a little bit maybe short sighted, and it
was very short amount of time, but you know, Joe Missoula,
it does have a ring, and he did find a
way to lead this team to an NBA title last year. Yes,
I know it was only his you know, third I'm sorry,
(01:12:37):
second season, but I don't know. I'd have a hard
time on that front and just saying, hey, you automatically
give the edge to TIBs because of his amount of
time in the league. What do you think, Brie?
Speaker 3 (01:12:51):
Yeah, I kind of just think it's more of a
cohesive issue more than like a coaching issue. I think
the Celtics have had all these injuries throughout the season,
and I kind of just think that like the playing
together and not adjusting, which I think the Thunder going
back to the Thunder, They're gonna adjust.
Speaker 2 (01:13:09):
Don't you think they will? I do, I.
Speaker 4 (01:13:11):
Totally do, But I just I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:13:13):
I just don't think the Celtics like there's just something
super off. They just seem really really off. And I
don't really think that's a coaching thing. I just think
the Knicks are just playing more cohesively, and I don't
think the Celtics are and I think they get you know,
you live by the three, you die by the three.
Speaker 4 (01:13:29):
It's so it's so generic.
Speaker 2 (01:13:30):
Right, Chris top Perzinga is being terrible as he helped
as much either. Yeah, it's like Hartenstein tonight for the Thunder.
I'm watching this thing and everything goes back to Okay, see,
I'm sorry, way do we get to the NFL season,
guys and everything goes back to the Raiders. It's gonna
drive you crazy. But when your best option and you
(01:13:51):
consistently give those little bunny slash jump hooks whatever that
is that Hartenstein does, and he misses them, It's like,
what are we doing? There's moments when you watch the
Knicks and you wonder does Christap Worzingis know that they've
got Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum. I mean, the dude'
shooting thirty four percent from the floor, sixteen percent for
me on the three point line. He's been terrible. You
(01:14:12):
need your role players to step up in the postseason,
and that's not happening for the Celtics. All right, More
of your calls coming up eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety six. Sixty three
sixty nine. It's The Plank Show Through the Night on
Fox Sports Radio. I just I have a question for
Mark here right off the top, Mark, do you ever
get tired of Brion Eye gossiping during the commercial breaks?
(01:14:33):
Are you okay with it? No?
Speaker 10 (01:14:35):
Very?
Speaker 5 (01:14:36):
Because I'm able to catch up on things that I
can't talk about while I'm pushing a button or listening
for a cue.
Speaker 2 (01:14:42):
Yeah, okay, Well, Brock Brock is best ear. Hustle is
the good Okay, Well, Brock's got up on all of
our gossip too. So what's cool is for the trip back,
bree is I get to tell Brock about all this
gossip that he's only hearing one side of probably got
something to do on the way home.
Speaker 3 (01:14:57):
Let's go and you can get all the back sorry
information of everything.
Speaker 2 (01:15:03):
Yeah. We have a live studio audience of one tonight
here from the Fox Sports Radio studios in Athens, Georgia.
Technically three. Mark Ramsey running the show as always, Brianna
Murrow as taking your calls at eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety six six
three six nine. We don't have a ton of time here,
(01:15:23):
so bri I want it. You know, sometimes we got
Breeze three coming up next hour, and sometimes at the
top of our final hour, we will push past the
calls and we'll just get into our updates and our
sound and our audio. I'd like to keep the calls
rolling if you guys have time. Jumping in at eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox because I feel like we
(01:15:44):
have a lot of great topics tonight. I feel like
the countdown to Game three between the Knicks and the
Celtics is interesting. You know, this is you're supposed to
be able to enjoy a championship without getting too upset
when things go south. Boston just won the title last year.
(01:16:05):
You know this is this is something that you're at
least supposed to be able to simmer in a little
bit for a while. And again there there is this
theory that and again I think it was posed by
one of the great Celtic fans in and I'm talking
I'm not talking to Ewing theory. I'm talking about the
(01:16:26):
championship theory, which is, hey, after you won a title,
you can't grinch for five years. You just gotta you
gotta accept your time. Now if you go back to back,
does that make it ten years? I don't know. Miaklhamas
Sooner softball team has won four straight, does that make
it twenty years? I don't know. But I still think
this has a little bit of a different feel to
it because and not in that oh well we won
(01:16:46):
the title last year kind of way, in a how
in the hell are we letting this happen to the
nicks of all people? And how are we letting this
happen when we're playing this style of basketball? I think
it's fascinating. I think it's wild. So eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety six
six three six nine, let's sketch your calls? Is is
(01:17:08):
Luke from Boston? Still hanging in there?
Speaker 4 (01:17:10):
Yeah, he's got him.
Speaker 2 (01:17:11):
Let's go Okay, Luke, what's going on? Man? How are you?
Speaker 16 (01:17:13):
I'm doing great man, first time caller. Happy to be
on the show. I've got a lot of thoughts moving on.
Been out here for thirty five minutes.
Speaker 2 (01:17:19):
But just take him off, take off, throw it all
out there, baby.
Speaker 16 (01:17:23):
First thing first, I hate the Joe slander.
Speaker 10 (01:17:25):
He's one of one.
Speaker 16 (01:17:26):
He's great for this team. Our players are under his control.
Tatum always locked in JB. Always locked in, the team's
always locked in. Uh, you just don't see that around
with young superstars and how much talent we have. Moving
on to Drew and Chris as Porzingis, I've heard rumors
about them. We are a dynasty.
Speaker 13 (01:17:45):
We will be a dynasty.
Speaker 16 (01:17:46):
I can't wait for the South to tie this up
to too, because it's gonna happen and we're gonna win.
And my heart says six, my brain says seven. But
I've heard rumors one of them could go in the
off season. I pray to God it's not Forzingis. I
love Drew, but we need that big man. Al's only
got a couple of years left.
Speaker 13 (01:18:03):
I love Luke.
Speaker 10 (01:18:03):
My name is Luke. He is the man.
Speaker 16 (01:18:05):
Moving on to the Devers man. I love Devers, but
any player, any All star, any city all star, will
do what's right for the team. It's one thing going
out and playing first base and being awful. It's a
second thing just saying no, I'm not gonna do it.
I love the guy, but we're paying him too much
money for him to not want it. Mookie, who we
(01:18:26):
should have kept, is that in La playing wherever the
hell he wants. Him to play, so shout out him.
Speaker 13 (01:18:32):
Yeah, with your thoughts.
Speaker 2 (01:18:33):
All right. First of all, you hit on a topic
that I'm very fascinated with, but we haven't touched on tonight,
and that's Raphael Devers and the fight that he's currently
having with the Red Sox. In fact, John Henry, the owner,
flew out making what has been described as a very
rare trip to meet with him after you know, Devers
(01:18:56):
basically laid out that he's pissed. So, I mean, I
think it's a really smart move because you have a
ten year, three hundred and thirteen million dollar investment in
this guy. And if you're frustrated with the organization, you
don't want to You don't want to go over your
manager's head. You don't want to go over your GM's head.
(01:19:17):
But in a lot of ways, it's good. It's good
to let your players know that you you got their back. Oh,
our Live's duty audience is going away, Brig Brock's gonna
go to bed, good Bye Brock later. I think it's
a smart move. I know some people get mad where
owners are over involved. This isn't that case, you know,
(01:19:40):
John Henry, at least from what I say now, I'm Afar.
I'm from Afar, So you know, Luke, you might say
they're to the I don't feel like they're over involved.
This isn't back in the day Mark Cuban, who is
always involved in everything, or Jerry Jones. So I think
that's a smart move. I do want to dive into
what you said about Drew, Chris Top and Joe next
right here on Fox Sports Radio. Stick around.
Speaker 1 (01:20:03):
You're listening to the Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:20:06):
I cannot believe this show is in its final hour already.
I cannot believe it. But that's how we roll Good
Saturday Morning with Brianna Morrow, Mark Ramsey. They're run the
show in the Los Angeles studios. My name is Chris Plank.
On the road in SEC Country. I'm in Athens, Georgia,
(01:20:28):
where they had graduations tonight. The party is going on
all around the Fox Sports Radio studios. And I did
just I wanted to touch on. I wanted to touch
on one thing from who was it, Luke from Boston's call,
Good Call, Luke. I hope that you call more often,
and I hope your Celtics get back and even this
(01:20:48):
thing up. Just so I have you on this program
because you're a good caller. I like whenever you hear
immediately after a couple of bad games, you'll have the
swarm of media that decides a coach has done and
the NBA has been very knee jerky, very knee jerky.
(01:21:11):
Steve Kerr blames the billionaire owners. Okay, I think we're
in this age now where the decision makers are my
age and we all grew up always wanting to fire
the coach. So you might say, oh, it's billionaire owners
and they can afford the buyouts. No, no, no, no,
I don't think. I mean, that might be a small
(01:21:33):
faction of it, but we're from now an era where
and it's even you know, some of the younger generation,
they don't have patients, they don't have patients, and from
the first sign of adversity they want to move on.
It brought me joy to hear Luke talk about being
(01:21:55):
a Joe fan. No Joe slander was the term that
he used, And I'm here for that because I do
think Joe Missoula is a very good coach, and I
think that earlier on the show, we had a we
had a Knicks fan and I don't even know if
it was a Knicks fan. It was just a NBA
fan that said it's a coaching mitch a mismatch because
(01:22:17):
of Thibodeau's experience versus Missoula. Well, I don't think so.
I think I think Joe Missoula is one of those guys
that has a good temperament, got a little edge to him.
I would love him if he was the coach of
my team. So I love it whenever a fan of
said team that struggling comes in and says, no, no, no,
I'm not here for the slander. Here's the other thing,
(01:22:38):
and this little bit unrelated to his phone call. But
you know, Drew Holliday has not been very good. I
think that's a kind way to put it for the
Boston Celtics. But it got me thinking a little bit
about building a team, and building a team for a
(01:23:01):
constant and consistent success. And I see Drew Holliday in
a and a Celtics uniform. I see I don't even
know where is Chris Middlebrook even at anyway. I don't
even know where he is. And it makes you wonder
how things could go so soud so quickly for everyone
(01:23:22):
that was involved in the twenty twenty one NBA title
run for the Milwaukee Bucks. Okay, they won the title
in twenty twenty one. I mean that was four seasons ago.
We're not talking a decade ago. Four years ago, and
they have a completely different roster. Their big three is
all somewhere else. And it was literally I did I
(01:23:48):
say Middlebrook, I'm sorry Middleton, and it's it was imploded
in like record time, record time, and I don't even know.
I don't even know how. By the way, Chris Middleton
and currently a Washington Wizard if you weren't familiar with it,
which I truly wasn't for a moment, like he's a wizard.
So it kind of shows you because I think you
(01:24:10):
look at a team like and I'll bring a full
circle before we go back to the phones. This goes
back a little bit to maybe maybe whenever you raise
your eyebrows and concerns with Oklahoma City and maybe you
tip your cap a little bit to what Denver is
currently doing. Right. Yannis was the MVP in twenty twenty,
(01:24:34):
he was the Finals MVP in twenty twenty one, and
since they won the title, they've only won one playoff series. Now,
the Nuggets they've this shorter amount of time since they
won their last title, but here they are two years removed.
(01:24:56):
Maybe the Lakers in the first round last year had
a great seven game series with Timberwolves. They beat the Clippers,
they got a two games to one lead over Oklahoma City,
who's had one of the greatest regular seasons ever, and
they did when they fired their coach. So you kind
of think about being built to last. You wonder if
that's the case with Denver, it wasn't with the Bucks.
(01:25:17):
Now we got Gianni's trade rumors. You watch what OKC
is going through right now. Are they built to last?
Is it like what Dagnault said, Oh, it's a young
team that's still learning how to win, or is it
a team that's been the one seed back to back
years where you look at teams like Milwaukee and you say, bro,
that window don't stay open forever. That is not the
Lord's English there, but it's proper enough. So I kind
(01:25:42):
of got me thinking on a completely different level from
his phone call with just you know, Drew as the Celtics,
but Drew and Middleton with Giannis and how quickly that
fell apart. I mean, hell, Budenholzer has already been fired
from somewhere else since he left the Bucks. Maybe two places,
seven ninety nine. On Fox. It's one of the it's
(01:26:02):
probably been one of the funnest series. Even if you're
anti Knicks, it's kind of cool to see their fan
base rejuvenated. And if you are anti Knicks, it's gonna
be cool to see them rejuvenated, probably only to see
their heart ripped out. All right, let's roll through a
couple of calls and we'll get to Breeze three and
we'll get to the plank Parlay. I got audio to
share with you. Ray has been incredibly patient. Ray, you
(01:26:25):
can have this whole first segment you want. Rai's and
Norcau Welcome to Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Rag?
Speaker 10 (01:26:32):
What's up? Guys?
Speaker 15 (01:26:33):
I usually call Cadino and which or Ben Naler, But
East Coach? This East Coach?
Speaker 11 (01:26:39):
That man, you guys make you want to hit himself
in the hell with.
Speaker 15 (01:26:42):
A baseball bat. I am a Warder fan, and I
don't know. I don't think things.
Speaker 10 (01:26:48):
Are dead yet.
Speaker 15 (01:26:49):
I think I think Curry will come back Game five.
And the only teams to see the Warriors in a
seven game series are Kawhi with Lanta or Lebron James
is the Lakers and the Cavs. And that's that's the
best story going right now in the NBA playoffs. All
your East Coast bias, you know, can't hold the West coast, Jock.
(01:27:11):
The West Coast is the best coast.
Speaker 2 (01:27:12):
West coast. That's time zone, that's time zo. Hey, I
will ask this, Are you worried about stuff right now?
Speaker 15 (01:27:20):
Yeah, I'm pretty worried.
Speaker 2 (01:27:22):
They don't blame that.
Speaker 15 (01:27:24):
I don't blame Yeah, it's it's pretty bad. And Draymond's
got too many technicals and too many flaggers.
Speaker 13 (01:27:31):
But what a story.
Speaker 12 (01:27:33):
I'll tell you what.
Speaker 15 (01:27:33):
I can't believe that's really happening. But if there is
a team that could lose the Warriors without stuff, it
is the Minnesota typical You're right.
Speaker 2 (01:27:43):
I think you're right, man. I appreciate the phone call.
Wait to get us back on the West coast the
best coast. Thanks ray for a moment. I was like,
what's right talking about? I'm like, oh, North calin he's
in northern California, Like we happen a very East Coast
heavy program tonight though it's yeah, it's it's it's been
a little different tonight. I it's funny which game did
(01:28:08):
Steph get hurt?
Speaker 1 (01:28:08):
In?
Speaker 2 (01:28:08):
Game two? Is that right? So Steph kids dinged up?
Oh no, no, he got hurt midway through game one.
I'm sorry, and I'm I'm not watching. I'm following along
because the Timberwolves were playing terrible and I saw that
Steph went back to the locker room, and immediately I
just thought it was another issue with the thumb, right,
(01:28:30):
I mean, we've all seen them, the shot of him
walking and the everyone, and I'm sure I wasn't falling
for a fake image. I don't think. But you saw
how swollen that thumb appeared to be. And then when
I found out, oh it's it's it's not it's something
completely different. That's those moments where you're like, oh now,
(01:28:51):
and here's the thing. Every update I feel like I
get on Steph Curry, it gets pushed back even more.
Right the first update, yeah, you know, day to day,
we'll see if he'll be available for game three. Then
it was ah, you know, maybe by game four, and
then it's like, well, he's gonna be out through game four.
(01:29:11):
And then on the Pat McAfee show, you had Shams
go on, was that today, yesterday now and say that, yeah,
he's he's limited and he's going to be reevaluated on Wednesday,
and he is out at least until Game six. But
I mean, Minnesota has not looked like the same Minnesota
(01:29:33):
team that rocked the Lakers. Anthony Edwards has not looked
like the same dude. Now. Granted he had his foot
put on backwards there for a little bit in Game two.
But and maybe there's a little bit of bitterness that
the Wolves have played like this against the Warriors and
played like that against the Lakers. But it's you know,
(01:29:54):
I again, maybe maybe I'm just picking up on every
little report that's out there, because I did see I
saw one report on this, yeah, that the Shams report
aligns pretty much with what the team originally said. I'm like, oh,
maybe I'm following. Maybe I followed too many people that
claim their insiders. But at first it's like, ah, you know,
(01:30:15):
day to day, and then we'll re evaluate it then
maybe at least through game four, and then it's like
hopefully by game six. Pri I don't know about you.
I like the Warriors. I'm not an anti Draymond guy.
I'm tired of his act, but I'm not that's not
anti I think he's a good basketball player if you
can just drop the nonsense. But they ain't win in
(01:30:36):
anything about Steph Curry and Buddy Heals my guy and
he's an ou dude. But that fire is going to
extinguish for one game and maybe two. It's the same
thing that happened in games three and four of their
first round series against the Rockets. There's just a stretch
where it's like, oh, fire's out for a couple of games,
and I don't know if they'll be able to survive it.
But I'm I'm like him, I'm really concerned about the
(01:30:57):
long term viability in this series. Steph Curry.
Speaker 3 (01:31:01):
I think Jimmy Butler has obviously made a huge impact
right playoff Yeamy as Monty likes to say, shout out
Monty because she loves she loves Jimmy Butler, but le like,
I think he's good right now. He can fill in
the spot. If there was no Jimmy Butler, I think
they'd be done for sure. But I think he, like
(01:31:21):
he can carry this team like and get take care
of the series, but like moving forward, if they don't
have stuff.
Speaker 4 (01:31:28):
Yeah, that's over.
Speaker 2 (01:31:29):
Okay, we got one more call we're going to take tonight.
Then we're going to do our job for the final
forty five minutes of the program, we're gonna hit Breeze three.
I got tons of audio to share with you. We
got a little NFL stuff to KT two. But first,
Mike the Leprechaun. What's going on? Mike? How are you
(01:31:49):
welcome to Fox Sports Radio?
Speaker 12 (01:31:51):
Good morning? Did you just have a fiftieth birthday?
Speaker 2 (01:31:55):
I did, Mike? I did? Oh?
Speaker 13 (01:31:57):
Sam is Ben?
Speaker 9 (01:31:58):
Ben turned?
Speaker 13 (01:32:00):
Then?
Speaker 9 (01:32:00):
Just turned? I I have a new.
Speaker 12 (01:32:06):
I have a new electric guitar, so I'm working on
that now.
Speaker 2 (01:32:09):
Okay, well wait a minute, So you went from last week?
What you have last week? Didn't you have like a ukulele?
Speaker 12 (01:32:16):
This is my yukule okay, okay, guitar and this is
my electric.
Speaker 2 (01:32:25):
Okay, you're moving around pretty quick, So well done.
Speaker 12 (01:32:29):
My kids, No, no, I have two brilliantly musical kids.
You know, I'm not bragging, but they really are. But
it's happy Mother's day.
Speaker 2 (01:32:36):
Oh his Mother's day tomorrow? That's right?
Speaker 9 (01:32:39):
Is Britan mom?
Speaker 2 (01:32:41):
Now? No, dog mom, cat mom.
Speaker 4 (01:32:44):
I guess I'm a cat.
Speaker 2 (01:32:45):
Mom, she's a mom. She's got a cat. So happy
Mother's Day, thank you.
Speaker 12 (01:32:50):
I have two hedgehogs. What I have two hedgehogs?
Speaker 2 (01:32:55):
Pats, Mike, I don't have cats.
Speaker 10 (01:32:58):
I had two hedgehogs.
Speaker 2 (01:32:59):
They're not. A hedgehog is not a pet. What are
you talking about? A hedgehog?
Speaker 12 (01:33:03):
The hedgehog is a pet you can buye you know,
they're totally domesticated.
Speaker 1 (01:33:07):
What do they do?
Speaker 9 (01:33:08):
They just went around in the.
Speaker 12 (01:33:10):
Little training wheel and they they're cuddly and cues.
Speaker 4 (01:33:12):
Is that a guinea pig?
Speaker 7 (01:33:14):
No, hedgehogs.
Speaker 12 (01:33:16):
I'll send you a picture.
Speaker 3 (01:33:17):
Yeah, please, because I don't understand. I think there's like
a video game like Crash Bandicoo.
Speaker 4 (01:33:22):
Is a hedgehog?
Speaker 2 (01:33:23):
Oh that's right, Oh my god.
Speaker 12 (01:33:24):
No, No, they're an exotic pet. But I have two
of them because I have two boys.
Speaker 2 (01:33:29):
I thought they were like, I don't know.
Speaker 12 (01:33:31):
No, So Paul Paul Pierce, he didn't pay up on
the bet that he would walk barefoot for fifteen miles
or something.
Speaker 7 (01:33:39):
But he did walk at least, but not barefoot.
Speaker 12 (01:33:43):
He did nothing. The Celtics are soft this year, I agree,
and Holiday was injured, so you have to give him
a little break fair, all right, I want to keep
going blank. Scott is one of my haters. So there's
a guy from Marcel from Brooklyn. He was is is okay?
Speaker 9 (01:34:00):
I like him actually?
Speaker 12 (01:34:01):
And Poppy I love I love his ticks. In the
last week alone on x or Twitter, I've gone from
the Leprechaun to the loser con to the leper.
Speaker 2 (01:34:10):
Con so the loser con to then why.
Speaker 9 (01:34:16):
Do you have now?
Speaker 12 (01:34:18):
Why do you have anyway?
Speaker 7 (01:34:19):
To loser con?
Speaker 12 (01:34:21):
And then no, these are actual tweets on on my profile.
So I want to talk about the Pope, the Bears,
the Pope, you said, the Prayers. He's that he loves
the Cols. Did you know that he hates the Phillies. Yeah,
he liked him too. In fact, Wrigley Fields, No, no,
the Clubs. Somebody put up a sign one of the
(01:34:43):
other teams in Chicago, the Clubs and the Socks. R.
I went home and Wrigleyfield anyway, forgot the sign home
of the Pope and anyway, the brother in Chicago said, no,
that's not true. He likes the other team. I can't
wait to see, uh the Villanova San Joe's of rivalry
because Janova where he went to be a math major.
Speaker 13 (01:35:03):
And I'm a math major myself anyway, so.
Speaker 12 (01:35:06):
Joseph is now like all they're kind of jealous. That's
the other Go down the Sea has a polk Any
comments on that, No, I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:35:16):
Care, but I will say I have this vision, Mike
the Leprechaun, of you sitting there with your kids lined up.
One of them's got a ukulele, and one of them's
got a guitar, and you're pointing to whenever you're ready
for them to play.
Speaker 12 (01:35:29):
One of them has tuba, and they had a piano.
Speaker 9 (01:35:33):
I mean, more kids.
Speaker 12 (01:35:34):
It's uh, it's like the wild West, but it's no, No,
they really are very brilliant music. I used to be
a good athletes, but they clearly they got they got
my humor.
Speaker 10 (01:35:45):
How about that?
Speaker 2 (01:35:45):
They got see you buddy, Happy Mother's Day, Michael Leprechaun.
I you know Mike's Mike takes a lot, you know,
it takes a lot of Mulligan's. It's like, Okay, well
that one didn't work. Let me try this one to
the ball, ball all let me try this one. What
about the pope? You know like that all right? Ball?
Speaker 15 (01:36:04):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (01:36:05):
Let me try this one. Like tid Cup, He's just
gonna keep firing at the pin. I wanted to get
behind the beef between he and Blind Scott. That's what
I want to know about. I thought Blind Scott had
a great call to start hour or two for the
show today. Got into the Celtics, talked about how if
they had Knicks fans behind the goal like that at
a Thunder game, that we'd be riding them out of town.
(01:36:26):
We'd be arresting them. All. I thought Mike's call was
you know something I will say when you talking about
having musical kids, there's this there's this point where I
have Mike the Leprechaun going away. Hey, I don't know
what your son's name is or daughters, Johnny Sally, wake up, Johnny,
I got a call playing and Brie Mark, Johnny, get
(01:36:48):
ready to play the guitar court. You got to ukulele, Susie,
let's go, where's my tuba player? She's got everyone ready.
And then can you imagine whenever they're like, what are
you getting ready for? What? It's not called mallor palu? Say?
Is it what we just?
Speaker 4 (01:37:01):
Yes, that's what they call it. It's official that's the name.
Speaker 2 (01:37:04):
I've got to get ready for malor Palooza and kids
making them run laps? I love it. Was there a
sports take we need to talk about in there?
Speaker 12 (01:37:12):
Do we?
Speaker 2 (01:37:13):
Just?
Speaker 3 (01:37:13):
I wanted to talk about the hedgehog because I was
apparently wrong. Shout out to Kevin Fingers, who corrected me.
A bandicoot is its own subspecies, which is crashed.
Speaker 4 (01:37:23):
The bandicoot sonic was the hedgehog. Oh okay, so I
was wrong.
Speaker 2 (01:37:28):
I don't know if anyone I've ever met in my
life as a hedgehog is a pet. That's just that's
that's and I live out in the country, dude, So
that's that's that's that's a new one for me. I've
heard of ferrets. If you if you dated a girl
in high school and you're like, hey, you have a pet, Yes,
I have a pet ferret, you know what you needed
(01:37:49):
to do? You run. I've heard of people having like
reptilian pets, But hedgehog that's new. So I guess whenever
someone asks you what you learn today, you can say
I learned that apparently hedgehogs are domesticated animals, and Mike
the Leprechaun has two of them as a pet. As
the Great Victor Brick would say, who knew? All Right,
(01:38:13):
we gotta break. It's a Plank show here on Fox
Sports Radio. When we come back. All right, thank you
guys for all the great calls tonight. Your tweets are
coming up. I got the Plank parlay, got some audio

(01:39:32):
not one, not two.
Speaker 1 (01:39:35):
But three.
Speaker 2 (01:39:38):
It's entertainment.
Speaker 1 (01:39:39):
It's good. It's Breeze three.
Speaker 2 (01:39:45):
H I bree it's that time. We've got a good
night on the phones. Great night on the phones. A
lot of first time callers. That means a lot to me.
So you guys keep grinding. Sorry to do I didn't
get to you man. We'll try it again next week.
Breeze three. What are we focusing on tonight?
Speaker 6 (01:39:59):
Breath?
Speaker 3 (01:40:00):
Okay, So earlier this week there was news that came
out that Shador Sanders, he had a fan that sued
the NFL for one hundred million dollars over the fact
that he, you know, obviously slid in the draft, and
he said it was due to severe emotional distress.
Speaker 2 (01:40:19):
Right. I saw this story and I thought it was
a joke. Meets it realized it's real.
Speaker 4 (01:40:25):
I thought it was like an onion post.
Speaker 3 (01:40:26):
Yes, it's real a severe emotional distress, like what what what?
Speaker 4 (01:40:31):
What are we doing?
Speaker 2 (01:40:32):
And by the way, just just a side to this,
and I know this isn't the point of breeze threes,
but just since we probably won't talk about it again,
Like why would he blame the NFL? Like it's it's
it's you're just going it's your fault, Roger, you dell,
it's your fault NFL? Like what do we even wouldn't
you like want to sue the thirty two teams individual
(01:40:53):
and I'm.
Speaker 3 (01:40:54):
Sorry, or just slew or sue the Browns be like
you passed on him this many times just to dress him,
Like yeah, I mean yes through the Browns. Like NFL
they don't have a say in who the teams are
gonna pick, right, and he the plaintiff, is doing the
league for damages, alleging the draft day outcome was a
result of quote slanderous statements, collusion, and possible racial discrimination
(01:41:17):
that unfairly hurts Sanders shock.
Speaker 4 (01:41:19):
How does that impact the fan? Like plate like tell
me that.
Speaker 2 (01:41:23):
Yeah, I don't know. They didn't really seem to bother
you know, cam Ward with that racial injustice about Boyshaud
or Sanders yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:41:32):
I just I yeah, I just anyways, I again, when
we were yeah, I thought.
Speaker 4 (01:41:36):
It was fake too. So anyway, so I just thought, like,
what are some sports moments oh.
Speaker 3 (01:41:43):
That caused quote severe emotional distress. And so I have
three obviously, and so my first one, I'm gonna go
in chronological order here, I'm gonna go two thousand and seven,
the Spurs and Suns in the second round of the
Western Conference Playoffs, Game four, Robert Rory hipcheck Steve Nash
(01:42:04):
into the scorer's table, bist Diao, Amari Stodomeyer come off
the bench, you know, to try to stand up for
the team, right, And the next game they were suspended,
and that obviously impacted the entire series. And I just
will never ever get over that because I felt like
that was a really big Sun's year. Yeah, and I
(01:42:27):
will never I will never forgive David Stern for that.
I mean he's in the I mean, you know, rip whatever,
but like, I will never ever move on from that,
Like that is traumatizing because that was a year I
think twenty eleven also the Suns and Lakers series, But
forever two thousand and seven, I will it. Just I'll
never get over that, and like Greg Papovic said that, like,
(01:42:49):
oh well, Robert Ori didn't even mean it, like actually,
that's just a regular play. And there was eighteen seconds
left in the game. Also like I will in the
fourth quarter, So I will, I will never get over that.
And so that was my first one. My second one
was the Minneapolis miracle in the twenty eighteen Divisional plays, God,
I keep forgetting your saints spam, oh have a few.
Speaker 4 (01:43:12):
The Vikings were trailing twenty four to twenty three.
Speaker 3 (01:43:14):
With ten seconds left, Stefan Diggs caught a twenty seven
yard pass from case Keenum, Case Keenum.
Speaker 4 (01:43:23):
I will be traumatized from case Keenum. That is baffling.
Speaker 3 (01:43:27):
And the Vikings obviously won the game twenty nine to
twenty four. And I will, I just I turned off
my TV and went to bed. I took a sleeping
pill and I couldn't. I couldn't survive, Like.
Speaker 2 (01:43:39):
Can I add one? Not funny, but one interesting thing,
of course. One of my best friends, his name is
gay bikerd and Gabe was an All World offensive lineman
center for the Sooners. We worked together on the Sooner
Radio Network. He has a very popular podcast that was
his final game in NFL uniform. He was on the
(01:44:02):
Saints practice squad and that was the final game that
he ever played in the NFL. He got he I
think had decided to retire, and then he got one
more opportunity to go to like Denver, and I think
he went, I'm sure I'm messing up the story, but
literally that was his last NFL game, was being on
the sidelines for that. Can you imagine it as a memory? Now,
(01:44:26):
if you're a Vikings player, it's like, oh, that's awesome.
Speaker 3 (01:44:29):
But oh yeah, I can't look at every time Patrick,
where is a Vikings jersey?
Speaker 4 (01:44:33):
It's it's difficult.
Speaker 2 (01:44:35):
How many jerseys does Patrick have in next week?
Speaker 3 (01:44:38):
So, yes, he is in next week, and he's going
to do Breeze three, I asked.
Speaker 4 (01:44:43):
He asked if he wanted to do it, and I was.
Speaker 2 (01:44:44):
Like, yeah, man, it'll be like a forty five minute segment.
I'm ready for it.
Speaker 4 (01:44:48):
Okay, it'll be fine. It might be he's seventeen, who
knows something.
Speaker 3 (01:44:54):
And then my last one, I think, if you guys
can guess, I have the twenty nineteen NFC Championship, the
blatant no.
Speaker 2 (01:45:02):
Call pass, which led weird weird fallout from that because
past interference became a reviewable call for like two years,
and then we never talked about it never. It's like,
oh yeah, well we tried it.
Speaker 3 (01:45:17):
And there's a lot of controversy because obviously after that
the game went into overtime. So I get a lot
of pushback of like, well the Saints should have won
the game in overtime, blah blah blah blah blah. But
like I don't care, Like I mean, that's that's I will.
I will cry about this forever, like I will, I will,
and I will I hate the rams, like so I'm
in La, So I just I hate everybody that wears
(01:45:40):
rams anything. But anyways, so I I just I'll never
get over that. And so yeah, okay, those are my
we That is pretty trauma. It's some trauma right there.
You emotional to distress, all.
Speaker 2 (01:45:57):
Right, Mark, what do you got?
Speaker 5 (01:45:58):
So I have two of the same parts. So one
of them is like I have no skin in the game,
but just it was I was on edge when Atlante
was playing the Patriots. Obviously we know the twenty eighty
three thing, and just how can you let yourself the
whole team lose to the Patriots if you were so
(01:46:22):
far ahead.
Speaker 4 (01:46:23):
So that's this one.
Speaker 5 (01:46:24):
And then the Seahawks goal line play, why would you
throw a pass? It was just you know, watching the game,
of being a fan of the game, and just on
edge of why would you do such a dumb play?
Just incredible. And then my third one would be the
(01:46:46):
last out of the White Sox of two thousand and
five when they won the World Series. That's it, just
watching that game hoping they can get through it. I
was happy how how well the White Sox basically wiped
out it, but just charging that last out was just
you don't want the other team to come back. So
just those three Atlanta Seahawks and then the two thousand
(01:47:08):
and five White Sox.
Speaker 2 (01:47:09):
Okay, so listen, let's settle in here for my three
because I'm a Raiders fan. So much like you had
two with the Saints, I have two with the Raiders,
and they came in back to back seasons. In fact,
I could do all of Breeze three from probably the
(01:47:30):
John Gruden era as the Raiders coach. Okay, but the
two thousand Raiders season I thought was one of their
best teams, if not their best team under John Gruden.
That was also the year that they picked Sebastian Janakowski
first round in the NFL draft. Rich Cannon was having
(01:47:51):
an MVP season. They were cooking until Tony Sirahgusa may
he Rest in peace, belly fly on Rich Gannon in
the AFC Championship game and he ended up getting fined
for it. But the Raiders, and again that's that Ravens
(01:48:12):
team won on and were a great story and ended
up winning the Super Bowl. But that was also a
Raiders team that only lost that game sixteen to three.
And when Gannon went out, even though the Raiders were struggling,
when Gannon went out, they were done. D O n
(01:48:35):
e done, du in n done, however you want to
say it, they were finished. And when rich Cannon went out,
that was it. Do you know we had to turn
to as our backup quarterback. We had to turn to
Bobby Wing. Bobby Wing. Yeah, you know what. I want
(01:48:57):
to pull up the box score during the break to
just see how bad it was. Yeah, he was. He
ran the ball three times for thirteen yards. That's the highlight.
That's the highlight. But again I don't know if that
would have meant the Raiders could have stayed in it
and won the game. But that's our break number one.
(01:49:19):
Heartbreak number two involving the loss Vegas Raiders Tuck Rull game.
I was having a party at my house. Yeah, I
had a bunch of friends, so I remember them all
to these they're all still with us. Steve Harron, Mark Woodell,
Paul McFarlane don't get talked to him very much. But
(01:49:40):
they all came over to our house. We were drinking.
My wife left at the time. This is wife number one.
We're drinking, smoking, having a blast watching the game on
what I thought at that time was a big screen TV.
It was not. And as soon as Greg Beekert hit
Tom Brady and Charles Woodson recovered the I'm sorry. As
(01:50:00):
soon as Charles Woodson hit Tom Brady and then Greg
Beekert cover the fumble, I turned to them. I said, boys,
we're having a party right back here next week, same
time for the Raiders in the AFC Championship game. And
then at that moment, Fisher comes out, waves his hands
(01:50:20):
over his head. Previous plays under review, previous plays under review,
and we all learned about a rule that no one
had ever heard of before. Called the talk rule. Okay,
it never heard of it. Nobody had ever heard of
it ever ever. Now again, bri you know this is
where you and I are kind of the same, because
there'll be people that point out, like, well, that game,
(01:50:40):
you know they went overtime. Shut up, Yes, it was over.
It was over done. My third and fourth breeze three
gets two, gets to four. I'm sorry, And I know
we're kind of close here because we got a break
number one on my Oklahoma Sooner frustration. I want to
(01:51:04):
take you back to the twenty eighteen Rose Bowl. The
Oklahoma Sooners are up thirty one till fourteen on Georgia.
They were kicking the s out of them. Baker ceed
lamb Obo ronquo. I mean, they were just crushing them,
(01:51:26):
Rodney Anderson, and then for some reason, stupid Lincoln Riley
decided to squibkick squibkick with six seconds left in the
game and our six seconds left in the half. I'm sorry,
I mean Georgia recovers it. The remember the Gonzales dude
(01:51:47):
that had the glasses boots a fifty five yard field goal.
It's thirty one seventeen, and then Georgia takes all the
momentum into the second half, wins the game, wins the
AFF champion plays for the national championship, gets beat on
that crazy throw by two. Baker Mayfield played his final
(01:52:09):
game because we squip kicked at the end of the
first half.
Speaker 4 (01:52:13):
That was a big Nick Chubb game.
Speaker 2 (01:52:14):
Huh big, that's your running back, dad, Nick Chubb.
Speaker 4 (01:52:17):
And Sony Michelle.
Speaker 2 (01:52:19):
Yes, Nick Chubb destroyed us. What did he end up
running for in that game? I felt like we were
down on the sidelines and I just remember that our
equipment wasn't working, and so I was angry the whole game.
But I did get to interview Blake Griffin before the game,
so I was happy. Yeah. One hundred and fifty four
(01:52:40):
yards on fourteen carries, including a fifty yard touchdown just
after halftime and a game tying two yard touchdown in
the last minute of regulation. Hold on, I want more pain.
I'm gonna watch his fifty yard touchdown run right now.
Here's the other one. This is my Do you guys
have an honorable mention? Before I get greedy? Here go ahead?
Speaker 4 (01:53:01):
Oh no, no, no, I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:53:02):
Yeah, I no one, Mark? Do you have an honorable mention? Yes?
Speaker 5 (01:53:05):
The last out of when in two thousand and two
and the Angels are in the World Series. Just that
was a stressful moment that they could get past that
because the big head, giant person was every time he
would get up the bat, you thought he was going
to hit a home runs. When they finally got that
last out, I was so happy and so by the way,
the stress was gone.
Speaker 2 (01:53:26):
The stress was gone, like I do like this nature
boy says, bree has some deep, deep sports cars. I
feel for her too, and he adds I share breeze
hate for the Rams. They also didn't deserve to go
to the Super Bowl the year the forty nine Ers
defensive back dropped a sure Stafford interception. You know who'll
(01:53:46):
always remind you about that one, Bernie Fratto. It was
right in the dude's hands. Rams didn't deserve that Super Bowl.
All right, here's my other one. This is also Oklahoma,
And don't bring this up around Jeff Schwartzky, are you
working with Schwartz anytime soon? Bring?
Speaker 3 (01:54:02):
No?
Speaker 4 (01:54:02):
I don't think so.
Speaker 2 (01:54:03):
Okay, don't bring this up around Jeff because he was
on the field for this two thousand and six Oklahoma
recovers an on sidekick to basically end the game and
beat Oregon Alan Patrick. Soon, a running back comes out
of the pile with football, holds it up, walks towards
the sideline. They gave the ball to Oregon. They went
to review it. They looked at a review, somehow gave
(01:54:25):
the ball to Oregon. I still don't know. There were
seventy two seconds left. Oklahoma clearly recovered the on side kick.
They gave the ball to Oregon. Sooners lost that game
thirty four to thirty three. I've got some deep sports
cars too, and I didn't even touch on anything Dodger
related either. You know, there was just the whole Manny
(01:54:45):
Ramirez era where I thought we were ready to dominate
the world and that didn't happen. A lot of shortcomings
with some of those early nineties teams. There is a
whole Jeff Hamilton is a third base rockstar era. I
love Jeff Hamilton, Mike Marshall's the Future era. You really
opened some wounds today, Breeze.
Speaker 1 (01:55:05):
I know.
Speaker 3 (01:55:06):
I'm sorry, and I didn't really realize it until I
was like kind of researching it and I'm like, oh,
this is like really depressing, Like why did I choose this?
Speaker 2 (01:55:15):
And then well before you were born. I mean, there
was just the overall embarrassment of the Saints. You know
they were the Aints.
Speaker 4 (01:55:22):
Yeah, yeah, I picked a heck of a team.
Speaker 3 (01:55:25):
Man.
Speaker 2 (01:55:27):
Well, I'm gonna go drink some bleach and we're going
to come back now, I said. Now the award winning
edition of Breeze three right here on the Plank Show.
Hey a reminder, we've got the best pregame show in
the biz. Fox Sports Radios Countdown, presented by bet MGM
every Saturday and Sunday morning from nine to noon Eastern
(01:55:48):
sixty nine a Pacific time, will count you down to
all the biggest games, including including the NBA Playoffs Countdowns
presented by bet MGM every Saturday and Sunday. Right here
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app. Planks Parlay,
speaking of BENMGM, is next on Fox Sports Radio. These
NBA lines are a trip right now, an absolute trip.
(01:56:13):
I in fact, I can't allow myself to bring you
a Plank Parlay in good faith. I've got to really
pun what do we have about three four minutes left here?
I gotta really think about this in these final four minutes.
I had my mindset when we went to break, I'm like,
here's a parlay, here's what we're gonna go with. We're
gonna win. I want winners. And then I went back
(01:56:35):
over the numbers and I was like, these make no sense.
First of all, I want to remind you as soon
as we're done, the podcast will be going up. So
if you missed any of today's show, be sure to
check out the podcast. Just search Fox Sports Radio wherever

(01:56:56):

mentioned it man Brian No back. What a week for
the No Show. Good to see him back. The best
pregame show in the bitch coming up this morning at
nine am nine am Eastern Time, six am Pacific. It's
Countdown presented by bet MGM. They'll count down all the
biggest games. Tune into Countdown presented by bet MGM every
(01:57:17):
Saturday and Sunday morning right here on Fox Sports Radio
and the iHeartRadio app. I don't feel good about it,
but it's time for the Plank parlay. Here A lot
of people look at parlay's as what profitability. I like
the amount of money I could win probability based on
what it shows me, I could possibly want to plan.
You decide if you want to buy yourself.
Speaker 1 (01:57:35):
It's the plank parlay.
Speaker 2 (01:57:39):
It's a trap. What's a great line from Star Wars.
That's our drop. That's how I feel right now. Do
you realize, Brie, that every single team on the at
home is an underdog in the next four in playoff games?
Speaker 4 (01:58:01):
That's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:58:03):
The Knicks are up two games to none. They are
a six point dog. Six the Warriors are at home,
They're a five point dog. Tomorrow, the Nuggets are at home.
They're up two games to one. They're a five and
a half point dog. And the Pacers, who are up
(01:58:23):
two games to one, are a four and a half
point dog. I like it. So I'll go ahead and
I'll take these because I think they're gonna be three
tight games. My parlay is three hundred dogs. I'm gonna
steer clear of that Calves Pacers series just because I
didn't like the body language of the Pacers. So the
plank parlay this week, no money lines. You want the points,
(01:58:47):
give me the Nuggets plus five and a half. Tomorrow,
give me the Warriors plus five and a half. Tonight
give me the Knicks plus six. And I'm telling you
right now, I don't know if any of those three
are gonna win, but I know all three games at
home are going to be tight. There's your plank parlay
for this week. I did want to get to a
couple of tweets before we get out of here. Nature
(01:59:10):
Boy on fire Tonight. Breeze three got me so annoyed,
reminding me of the undeserved Rams championship that I need
to watch the Tuck Room a tuck rule game to
know that it's worse for Raiders fans. Hey man k
FIG's coming up next. He lived it, he knows I did.
Like this from Craig. Craig writes, Okay, listen, dude, the
(01:59:31):
Knicks are stinking good. See what I did there. The
Celtics complacency is real, and the Nuggets won despite Jokic
not playing well. Steph Well, Hammies are tricky. They need
him though, And the college football playoff expanding to sixteen No, no, no,
hell no. Look I got one piece of reaction tonight
(01:59:53):
to my college football talk. Let's go. Hey, great job, Bree,
great job Mark. Love hanging with you guys. The Fellows
are coming up next with our guy Kevin figures in
with the great Anthony Gargano. I'll be back in Oklahoma
next Friday night, finally. Until then, enjoy the games and
keep it locked on Fox Sports Radio.
