Speaker 1 (00:01):
You don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Oh good morning, good morning, Good morning.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
Heavy, Heavy, Fox Sports Saturday, the Madness Edition. It begins
at all this week with the conference tournaments. We got
a couple of finals today, a couple semis selection Sunday tomorrow.
It was actually a great sports week for the first

(00:30):
time since football ended.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
It was a great sports week.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
We had the World Baseball Classic, which was a lot
of fun. We've had again all the conference tournaments, and
of course we had free agency, the tampering free agency.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
What a week it.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Was in the NFL. It was a fascinating week. Let's
get right to it with my man, Jeff Schwartz. I'm
Anthony Gargana together with a fellas right here on five
Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
Good morning, Jeff, Good morning, good morning. Glad to be
back with you again this week. And we've had a
heck of a week.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Man.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
I'll tell you what, I'm not going to back out
of our showday like the Ravens back out of that trade.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
So we will. We'll have a lot of fun talking
ball today. Oh my god, oh my god, it was Uh.
I can't believe they take that. Let's be real about
what happened. Everyone.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
The Ravens just don't want just decided they'd rather have
Tree Hendrickson two draft picks. I choose that too, all right, Yeah,
I would choose that too. You give me the option
Max Crosby, but I give you two first round picks
or Tree Hendrickson, I get two first round picks. Everybody's
I keep my first round picks. I'm choosing the B option. Absolutely,
any satan person would do that. Well, the Ravens did.

(01:46):
It wasn't wrong, was in there. It was within their
right to do that. But the fact is that they
just got cold feet. And I mean that's happens. It
happens in football when you make a trade that you
know it isn't official until until the day of.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
The league year. Right.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
We saw that as soon as the league year began,
the Rams and Chiefs announced their their their trade for
for Trey mcduffy. Like that's when it actually gets like
you know, chefter rap all those guys, like they they
announced the stuff. When it happens, doesn't mean it's official yet, Right,
it's official on the first day of you know, four
pm on whatever it is at four pm or noon
on on the first day of the the new Yeah,

(02:30):
and and they just they they just they're like, all right,
we don't want to do this anymore. So no, I
see the thing floating around where people talk about well
they you know, how do they fakel a physical?

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Don't feel a physical? You can you can feel anybody.
It's not very pretty easy to fail someone in a physical.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
Well, it was a third party doctors, the Cowboys, Uh,
there's a.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
There.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
Their doctor is one of the guys that is a
knee specialist. Right, A lot of people go Dallas to
get you. They're need by him. And he looked at it.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
He's eye. Yeah, you could determine if when you're talking about.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
Degenerative problems in anybody part, the opinions can vary, right,
he can vary from yes, this is fine, no, it's
not well no, but but right, yes, but I mean
you do whatever you want in a physical right, and
and and yeah, the doctor said a third party, I
don't really like the look of that knee. Well, they
can find a fourth doctor says they like the knee. Right,
you can determine however you want to determine it. And

(03:29):
they they decided they didn't want to move forward, so
well within their right, but let's not pretend that that
that there was anything more than them just getting cold feet.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Yes, and like, I'm with you that I would rather
have Trey Trey Henderson and the two ones. But I mean,
you know, you can't do it, man, you can't. You
can't back out. I'm with you.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
I think it's ethically, it's it's a little because here's
the deal. I think about this, guys, and I put
this out on social media at Jeff Schwartz is like,
think about what happened after the Max Crosby trade. Right,
everyone else made moves based off of Max Crosby being
off the market. Right, So the Cowboys traded for pass rushers. Right,

(04:20):
Other teams made moves and fre Agency. Other teams did this,
and that they all everyone planned around Crosby being traded
the Raiders. By the way, it sound like a billion
dollars worth of contracts on the first day of fregency,
all around the idea, now they have money to pay
to pay Crosby. But they they made their roster around
the idea that Crossby was not going to be there anymore. Right,

(04:41):
they made their roster around the idea that they don't
have that first round pick anymore, right, and then all
of a sudden it's it's like, no, actually he's back now,
So it's not that show as the Raiders it.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Does a little bit. Now.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
I think they're fine with in the end. You know,
you get to keep a guy like that. It's okay
to keep a guy like that. It's not the worst
in the world. But everyone else who met I want
to Crosby or the Raiders want to get rid of them,
or even Crossby about how angry Crosby is the situation.
It just screwed everyone else, right, It just didn't screw
the race, you know, it just the whole league. Anyone
that wanted him, anyone who had rusted around him. They
couldn't do it because they thought he was off the market. Yeah, yeah, yeah,

(05:19):
it uh, it messed everything up, man, it really did. Now,
that was the story, the biggest story of free agency,
But there were others. The second biggest story to me
is the over payment of players. The cap goes up, and.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
There were there were a number of players that got
huge contracts. Jalen Phillips from Your Squad, the Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Got one hundred and twenty million dollars.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
Now.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
I love Jalen Phillips as a dude, right, Like, he's
a great guy and he's a good football player. The Eagles,
I could tell you budgeted twenty four year. I mean
they were that's kind of what they were looking for
looking to do. Dude, one hundred and twenty million. I
just say, God blessed my brav. So I textas to

(06:15):
my buddies. You know, I got a good life, right,
I'm not a I got a good life.

Speaker 4 (06:20):
I'm not really jealous so much, but I turned into
a hay nass former player man on the Fregency day,
I'm like, I see these contracts, I'm like, jeez, man,
where was that money when I was a free agent? Okay,
I was a fragid in twenty fourteen. Okay, the cap
has gone up two hundred million dollars since then, two

(06:40):
hundred million dollars. It was like one hundred and thirty
three million, and now it's three hundred million. And and
you know, and you see that, you know the contracts
now for what would have been sort of where I,
you know, sliding as a guard. And look, you want
to say it's too much money, and I always you know,
push back and say, heyy a couple of those guys.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
One is that it's not our money, right, so you
know it's not your money, not my money.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
And two, the contracts are not what they appear to be.
So when the actual numbers come in, uh, you know that,
you know, the Jaylor Phillips still four years and one
twenty and I haven't seen actual numbers for the deal.
It's not four years old twenty more dollars, right, like
it's it. So that's just just just think about that, right,
It's not gonna be exactly what is reported, and so

(07:32):
just just remember that when you think about, uh, all
these contracts, right, they're not they're not exactly what they
what they appear to be.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
They're not.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
But everything's relative, right, So what wasn't what wasn't appeared
to be in the past, it's more now. So while
you're not gonna go you know, the guaranteed portion.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
I have to look at it. I don't remember it
off the top of my head. But the in totality,
I mean, he probably won't see one twenty, but he's
going to see ninety and probably Yeah, I mean I
mean that's legitimate. That's big time big time money like
Romeo Dobbs gets twenty million a year from the Patriots.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
And here's the thing, the cap money for him, the
cap is a very real deal. And I'll say I
had a conversation with someone in the league and we
were talking about what was going on, and it was like,
that's why bad teams stay bad, And it's true, going
out and spending like drunken salers.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
Yeah, well it certainly I think that that it feels
that way, right, that the teams continue to stay bad
because they but one swing or two. I mean you
you mentioned jailn Phllips that the Panthers didn't go that
harder fregency, right, they went hard.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Right when you overpay, now it hampers or what else
you're trying to do from a cap standpoint, right, No,
I'm with I agree with that.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
You know, the overpayment, it's just part of fregency, right,
like you're just gonna if you get there. That's why
I made this case for a long time. Now, you know,
we just don't get the same players in f agency
anymore that we used to get, in my opinion, because
teams just resigned their own guys because it's cheaper. And
just it's just better for I think morale and team
building and everyone. But also too, teams just now trade

(09:24):
for guys, right, If they want a guy like Digit,
going trade for him, They're gonna trade for him.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
It's like the Rams get McDon I thought the Rams
had the best Listen, they're ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
You had McDuffie.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
Their only weakness was your secondary and they Watson too,
But you had McDuffie tonight, team, I mean, that's that's ridiculous,
exactly what they needed.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
Yeah, it is, And so I I do think that
you know that that's gonna be a fun team the track.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
I mean, the Rams needed one specific thing. They did
it right.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
They're the favor for the Super Bowl now is I
think they should would be? And that was report. Look,
I don't want to be I don't want to be
mean about this. The insider reporting sometimes kind of frustrates me.
There's a couple of people that seem to just stir
the pot a lot. You know, there's a tweet goes

(10:18):
out yesterday. You know the Rams and Patriots are interested
in a J Brown. The Rams part was new right, Only
three hours later the same person was like, ah, never mind,
not Eagles don't want.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
To trade A J. Brown anymore.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
You know that's kind of felt like you're just engagement farming,
like like what what so that comes out and then
all of a sudden like the Eagles like you know
that three hours beforehand you decided to put that out there,
and like you just you know some of the stuff.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
It's just it's a little frustrating.

Speaker 4 (10:46):
When you follow along as much as I think we
all do, Like I just he's not engagement farm.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Please, you have enough followers. You don't need to do that. Well,
you know what it is.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
In fairness to some of those people, right, You're got
you got your trusted sources within the league, and you
got your agents, right, and this is your agents are
trying to drum up something. Oh I know, and you
know better than I mean, listen, I'm not talking to you.
I'm talking to more of the people and you know

(11:19):
this that agents are trying to jump stuff up and
a lot of times what you're getting is late, right,
like it comes out like the team at all decide
Like I could tell you from an AJ Brown standpoint.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Because I got the whole story.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
That basically they couldn't get how he wasn't going to
get didn't get what he wanted. He wanted the two
ones or something close to that, like he had like
the ad serious talks with New England. New England wanted
to give up one one. It was like a one
in a three. How we wanted next year's one, not

(12:01):
this year's one. This year's one's thirty one next year one.
Next year's one could be a lot higher. And it
just never came to pass. Right Like New England wasn't
going to wasn't going to budge, they weren't going to
go two ones. There was another AFC AFC team that
was kind of interested and talked about, you know, maybe

(12:24):
we give up two ones. Ultimately they never did. They
wanted sweeteners and everything else. And then they went to
A J. Brown earlier in the week and we're like, listen,
we're probably not going to get what we wanted. Like
you know, I know you want out, but listen, you
like it here. I know your issues with the offense.

(12:48):
We have a new oc common We're going to get
Jalen uh more of an effective throwing quarterback to what
you know would shoot you. Let you know, let's you know,
let's let's go for it. Let's go one more shot.
When you're forty million dollar dead cap it, I can't

(13:10):
trade you for anything less than what we need, something
substantive like the two ones or something close to it.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
And then AJ agreed good. They had a good conversation
with them, and you know, and then yesterday all that
stuff kind of was out there and he was like,
you know, I thought we were cool, and the team's like, yeah, no,
we are cool. You're not going anywhere.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
So but I think that information filters late late to
the insiders. It's right information like the Rams were interested,
but they were trying to steal them. They weren't offered them.
They weren't offered the Eagles anything close to what they wanted.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
That makes sense. The Asian part of it obviously plays
a big role. I mean, look at the reports of
people signing and then in the tweet of them signing
including the agent name, like what what are we doing here?
Like I love my agent death Derek is fantastic, but
I don't tagging him like in the tweet of me

(14:15):
signing somewhere. I think it is odd, but nonetheless, like
a deal negotiated by Jeff Schwartz, I'm like, I mean, okay.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
I mean, you know, if you're the agent, you go
of course.

Speaker 4 (14:31):
Of course, I mean that's why it's done obviously. I
mean I'm not I don't know why it's done. I
just I find the whole thing interesting. But nonetheless, I
get the idea that things coming late. It's just, you know,
I do wonder with prediction markets and ways to wager
on this stuff. Now you know sort of the ethical

(14:51):
nature of doing that right where.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
You know, if I don't even think about that, dude,
like wow.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
Right, Like so I told you last week I put
a little tiny bit of money, not a lot on
AJ Brown to uh, to be a patriot. But imagine
yesterday if you read that report from a trust NFL insider,
I'm sure the RAMS took a ton of money yesterday
on on on A J. Brown, Right, And and then

(15:22):
obviously two hours later it's like, oh, never mind, never mind,
I don't it's not they're easily looking to keep them. Again,
it's probably a minuscule amount of money. And I'm not
saying that we have to do everything around making sure
people keep their money. And you know, I'm not one
of those people, right, And it's your money. You feel
free to do what you want with it. If you
want to gamble, you can gamble, right. But but the

(15:44):
fact is, like there there, there is part of that
in my in the back of my mind when I'm like,
I mean, you know, people manipulating the market, are they
trying to make them those extra money?

Speaker 2 (15:52):
This way?

Speaker 4 (15:53):
There's the thought of that in my head. Maybe I
gambled too much. It's certainly fair as well, but you know,
like that, like I didn't even think of that. It's crazy, right,
Like think about a trust. The NFL inside are put
out right like that, the rams are considering training for
a J.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
Brown.

Speaker 4 (16:09):
I would imagine that all those markets I can probably
check took a lot of money on the rams and
then three hours later, oops, never mind, never mind.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
Oh yeah yeah. But like but here's the thing just
runs in my head. Sometimes you can't like those prediction markets.
I mean, stuff, stuff falls through all the time. I
know you know better than anybody. And I'm not talking
I'm not directed to view, but real quick, let me
just do this. The thought so much has to happen

(16:42):
right to get a trade done.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
I mean, it's it's one out of out of the
you know, one hundred conversations that actually bear fruit.

Speaker 4 (16:55):
Oh absolutely, and you get the draft picks and and
and you pass physical obviously getting back to that quickly, man,
I'll tell you what I remember. Uh I went to uh,
I went to the Giants, right, and I signed this
big contract and I was healthy, so there was no
need to really do a sense of physical But like
the physical they gave me was like basically uh oh

(17:18):
oh no, you look good, okay done, you know, like
teams can pass you if they want. I was medically fine.
There was no they were going to find aything wrong
with me anyways. But like the idea that like, you know,
these these physicals are like you know, these intense there
they can be as easy as hard as you want
to make them.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
These teams can do that. And so it's just so funny.
I had this talk this week about physicals bad and
like the whole just no one has any idea really
how they work. And people say you know things about them,
and it's like that's not that's not it's not how.
This is not how this business works. But you're right
about the business of of sharing stuff. The agents share stuff,
teams share stuff, and This whole week was just about that.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
What was uh what explain people the physical what happens
during the day.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
It depends, It just depends on what on what on
what it is. So like, you know, the combine we're
talking about the comrade, the physical. The combine is the
most intense thing you're going to do your entire career. Right,
You're gonna get uh your You go to five rooms
with six teams in each room, and they have your
medical records, and they poke and they prod and they
like they test every body part, you know, like a
physical you would get, you know at a doctor's office

(18:27):
once a year, right, except dad and the heart testing now,
which is important, right, and so you know, and then
then you get imaging done if you need to write.
When you're at a agent physical, now they have your
medical records from your former team right now. They don't
have that, by the way, until you know, you sign somewhere. Right,

(18:47):
So like let's say let's do Jeneral films for example.
You know, the Panthers don't call the Eagles beforehand and
say hey, give me these medical records. They can't do that,
so you don't have those until now. On a trade
you can do that, and a trade can share information
and you can go to a third party doctor, which
appears Max Crosby did in a situation. But you know,
most physicals are just like when you get traded or

(19:08):
when you sign as a free agent, they're just like, oh, okay,
you look good.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
All right, you're done. Like you know, they have your
medical records right now.

Speaker 4 (19:17):
For Max Crosby, obviously they had to get you know,
just had surgery, so you have to get MRI like
you get imaging done. But for most of the physicals,
if you are healthy, if you are healthy, it's it's
just more of a of an eye check. Oh okay,
you're you're good. I mean, I have your medical records.
They know if you're healthier or not. And so if
you're if you're healthy. Now, if you sign a big
contract again, they might do a little bit more. If

(19:38):
you're gonna get paid a ton of money and you've
had a history of a back injury or a knee
injury or shoulder jury, they might do some some imaging. Right,
that's certainly fair to do that if we're gonna pay
you a lot of money. But if you're a healthy player,
if you've been healthy for four years and you sign
a big contract like like like Tred McDuffie's been healthy
his entire career, the Rams probably didn't give him the
same physical max Cross we got from the Ravens. Right,

(20:01):
It's just there's no need to do that if you've
been healthy your whole career. And so they're just various
team by team, situation by situation. There's no one sort
of uniform physical you get as a player. But if
you're healthy entering your that year, you never ride injury.
They're not spending they're not wasting time on imaging for

(20:22):
you and doing intense blood of work.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
You're healthy. Why would they bother doing that? That's right,
that's exactly right. All right, let's take a quick t Oh,
we'll come back. So much to unpack with free agency.
We got a lot of hoops to discuss, all kinds
of stuff. The World Baseball Classic. Oh but I can't
cannot wait for that game tomorrow night. Oh baby, Oh

(20:48):
my god, that's gonna be a great game.

Speaker 4 (20:50):
I want I want to talk to the World Baseball Classic.
We get a chance, I got some Yes, I love it,
I love it.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
But first before we do that, when we come back,
there's more free agency and perhaps one of the late
signings of the week could have the biggest impact other
than Trent McDuffie, and he's a quarterback. We'll discuss it.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
All right, brother, one of the sonnings love and I
just think it's going to work. Is Kyler Murray to
Minnesota goes to a quarterback and a whisperer or.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
Yeah? So it's interesting, right.

Speaker 4 (23:13):
I think it depends on how you feel about JJ
McCarthy because are we Are we done with them?

Speaker 2 (23:19):
Are you? Are you done with McCarthy? I never liked him,
So that's just me, okay, easy enough, it's fair because
you know, very simply, if you're done with McCarthy, this
is a good deal in my opinion. If you are
not done with McCarthy, then the deal makes really no
sense if you're Minnesota, right, because Kyler Murray is not

(23:42):
gonna sit behind JJ McCarthy, right, he's not now. It
might be a short term deal, but the fact is
he's better than JJ McCarthy. And he has his faults, absolutely,
but he's better than JJ McCarthy. And so this to
me signals that they're finished with McCarthy, which is a
totally fun essential to make accept.

Speaker 4 (23:58):
It feels like, you, you know, six starts like are
we really are we done with that? Are we done
with McCarthy now? And if you are, you are that's
again they fired the general manager. It feels very likely
that this decision was around that, right, that the McCarthy.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
Just not the guy.

Speaker 4 (24:13):
And you know, you know immediately I played with guys, dude,
I knew immediately right at the young player, get him
in the in the first huddle, and.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
You're like, oh boy, this is not gonna work down.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
There's guys, by the way, but there's guys that I
played with as rookie, like I played with I remember
Eric Fisher with the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
The left handle first pick.

Speaker 4 (24:30):
Overall means that it was a bad year for the draft.
I mean, Lane wound up being a Hall of Famer
from that early in that class, and he was six
flight Eagles but for the most part, that top of
that draft was not the best draft in the world.
And then they draft to Eric Fisher. I probably him
was a rookie. I didn't think he'd make it, buddy,
and he did, so you know, he made it. He
was a good football player. So you know, both things
can be true, right. There's times when you use guys

(24:52):
you're just like, this guy just doesn't have it. And
there's times that guys do have it right eventually, But
for a lot of ninety percent of the time you're like,
a that's not gonna work, and it doesn't work, And so.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
There's it's certainly fair to think that they believe it's.

Speaker 4 (25:07):
Just not gonna happen. But he also has six starts.
Yeah really, you really don't even know quite yet. But
this signals to me that that they know that he's
not their guy and they're trying to find a better answer.
And Colin Murray, look whatever you think about him, and
I think there's things he certainly needs to work on
as a quarterback. No better place to do it than here,

(25:28):
And I think this is going to be a really
a slam dunk for him and for the Vikings. Think
about the coach, the coordinator, and you know the ability
to you know receivers, the receivers, the offensive line. It
feels like really a very good signing for for both

(25:51):
Murray and the Vikings. Considering the thing about the options
right now, Uh, Malik willis to me, no chance, not
a single I would not spend as much of my
as Dolphins did on him.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
I want to. I do want to talk about him
in a few minutes. Yeah, we'll get to.

Speaker 4 (26:04):
But you got the best guy on the market, man,
Like what what what a what a what a what
a great option?

Speaker 2 (26:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (26:14):
Yeah, you know you got koc who's a great quarterback
man and got an offense.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
It just it just works. Listen.

Speaker 3 (26:25):
I never got to McCarthy thing. I like him, Like, like,
I didn't have a problem taking him. I wouldn't taken
him a high. But to me, you've got to develop them.
And they just handed him the job. And I never
understood that, not with where that team was. That team
had a lot of talent and you just gave him

(26:47):
the job.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
And to me, the whole thing was it was faulty
from the start.

Speaker 4 (26:53):
Well, so the thing the only thing that frustrates me
sometimes with these decisions. Is that, Like, if you drop
a quarterback who needs to develop, you have to spend
time to develop him. Like, again, McCarthy might never be good.
I don't know, but the fact is he never got
a chance to be good, right, I mean, Anthony Rickerson
probably was never gonna be good. The fact is he

(27:14):
really never got a chance to be good, right. I mean,
you draft these quarterbacks that need time. We all said
the dat, Okay, this guy needs time to think about
that draft class. Really, he's the only one that needed time, right,
you know, all the rest of that class had played
a ton of football, had thrown the ball a lot
in college. McCarthy needed time. They drafted a needed time
quarterback and did not give him time. That's frustrates to me.

(27:36):
And there's nothing wrong with getting out of that deal,
which absolutely got out of Murray's gonna be good man,
I think, Look, is he gonna be you know, the
best of the vision? I don't know, but this is
a think about where the vikings are right now. It's
a pretty good deal for them to get a guy
like Caylin Murray pay him next to nothing. Arizona's on
the hook for most of the money. Bring him in
that offense, bring him in with those weapons and just say, hey, buddy,

(27:57):
you don't have to do much here, right, You're not
required to do you know Arizona and Arizona you did
a lot for them. Right here, you want to do
all that, right, We're gonna run the football. We've got
an offensive line, we got weapons for you to throw
the ball to, we got a defense, Like just just
play within yourself. You can make some special plays every
now and then, but you know, just and I think
that's gonna unlock up probably a much better version of Calmer.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
If he can just do that, he can stick to
the plan, right, and you got I mean, look, it's
on him to dedicate himself. He's gonna have every opportunity.
You're you're in a great situation like this is to
me when you kind of it's a great career reset
for him. He needed this, right, He's got to get salvaged.

(28:42):
I'll never forget spend a lot of time with Mike
Vic when he came to Philadelphia.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
And he was like, man, I wish I knew.

Speaker 3 (28:51):
When I first got in the league about how to
play quarterback, and I wish I had Andy Reid as
my coach.

Speaker 2 (28:59):
I mean.

Speaker 4 (29:01):
Again, what times earlier. I love, you know, my career
I had and whatnot. But sometimes I look back and
I'm like what Michael Vick said, I'm like, if I
just like had my favorite offensive line coach as a
rookie off my offense line coach in Carolina was was great.
I love Maga Zuo, but you know, my offensive line
coach with the Chiefs was like the best offense I've had.
Just the whole system really worked for me. What he

(29:23):
taught like I would, and you just you don't. I
think the whole time, what if I just like think
get injured every year, I thinks I've gone for my career.

Speaker 2 (29:35):
But yeah, we all have that.

Speaker 4 (29:36):
And Kyler Murray gets an opportunity in year but six
seven to sort of like reinvent himself, and it's a
it's a it's a it's.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
A pretty big you know, plus for.

Speaker 4 (29:46):
Him to be able to have this opportunity, now I know,
I yeah, I think it saved his career.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
I really do saved his career. And you're he's got
dedicate himself. It's got to do it, all right, So
let's let's would do well. Ext I'd say, we're going
to go through all the teams and kind of look,
take a look at what they did.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
We'll continue to segment. Let's go Buffalo. DJ Moore in the.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
Big trade and Bradley Chubb got money yesterday. They needed
the edge. What did you think of Buffalo? Man?

Speaker 4 (30:24):
It feels like, uh, you know, they're trying to sort
of patch these holes in their roster best they can
because they just haven't drafted well wide receiver and at
a defensive end, right And I know they just haven't
done it. So you try to patch it up through
free agency, and you talked about overpaying guys. I mean
that's what That's what's happening right now. Right, They're just

(30:45):
it's just it. That's where they are at the moment.
It doesn't feel like they got much better, right, Like
if you think about DJ Moore, dude, I mean, you know,
if you think about like what you know, what you
have to do to get better and to win in
this league. I don't know if they got now bodies wise,
you have more is better than what they've had. How

(31:08):
reliable is he? Look, Chubb is better than what they've had. Again,
how reliable? I mean they tried you know, patching is
over with von Miller once, right, like let's just go
get an older player, not different, I think, different parts
of their careers, but still the idea was the same, right,
And it's just it's just they didn't do all how
much better they got in this you know, they're not
the only team that in the AFC that I didn't

(31:28):
think got much better right now, but with how much
sort of pressure has been on them, with Mahomes being hurt,
right like in their now division, with with you know,
getting better with the Patriots, this is what happens when
you just don't draft well, right, yeah, this and this
is it. It's it's a good example of this, right.
You look at at the best teams the NFL over

(31:50):
the years, and you look at you know, the Chiefs,
They've drafted very well. The Eagles are drafted well. Look
at what Seattle did, right, They drafted very well.

Speaker 2 (31:58):
When they when they keep their picks well.

Speaker 4 (32:01):
And it's just by the way, the Rams, by the way,
have drafted very well as well. You know, I'm look
at the at the drafts right now, like you know,
so to twenty twenty four, Keon Coleman Cole Bishop, who
starts for them at safety, Like that's about it. Ray Davis.
Does Dayne Carter play for them? I don't even know.

(32:22):
He's played eleven games in two years, it looks like
but Ray Davis is okay running back? That that that
that's the entire draft. Like who production right now? You know,
twenty twenty three Kincaid who has been good, but I
don't know if he's been like as good as people
thought he might be.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
No, Dalson Knox has been just as good. Oh, Cyrus Torrens,
who's the starting guard for them? That's good?

Speaker 4 (32:43):
And then that's it, Like a couple four of the
guys don't really play for them. Look at twenty twenty
two Elam James Cook, home run right, Bernard Good, So
like this is a better draft, Shakiir that's a better Bedford.
Like that that's a much better draft than twenty two
twenty one? Is Russo Spencer Brown the right tackle? You know,
but it's not not just not enough, dudes, epinessa.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
It's not enough.

Speaker 3 (33:07):
And then they've missed free agency, they have failed and
you know it's the fire McDermott and keep being go figure.

Speaker 4 (33:15):
So that's just that's just the way it seems to
be for for them right now. And you know when
you look at like a team like Seattle even this draft,
like think about the draft that so Gray's Abel right guard,
who's emerging as one of the better girls the NFL.
Imn Yori, who's like what second best safety in the NFL.
Arroyo who's a tight end who's really helped them this year.

(33:37):
It's not number one, but you know, you know, you know,
but that's an impact player right the year before Byron Murphy,
Uh you know, haynes A. J. Bardner is another tight
end man. And the year before that with Witherspoon, JSN,
Derek Hall, sharbon A Bradford.

Speaker 3 (33:54):
You could go every good team you look at the draft,
not free agency, think.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
About without this.

Speaker 4 (34:00):
This is twenty twenty two, Charles Cross left tackle MafA
just got a huge deal, Keth Walker's got a huge deal,
Lucas right tackle Kobe Bryant got a huge deal, Rek
wooland like this is just they hit, you gotta hit
home runs. Man and and Seettle did that year every
year and Buffalo just hasn't done that. So it's a
whole thing with Buffalo.

Speaker 2 (34:19):
It's not just.

Speaker 4 (34:20):
One thing, right, It's that they're trying to chase the
success that you have because they haven't drafted terribly.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
Well, all right, let's say.

Speaker 3 (34:29):

(35:53):
Last night, USA wins five to three. Guy, was a
little closer. It was five thing, And then at the
bottom of the fifth Canada got amount at a rally
nail are hit a home run, a two run shot.
Five to three, so a little two tight. The bats

(36:14):
still haven't really come alive since the first game. Only
eight hits last night against Canada. And you know that
staff isn't any good. They got the Dominican Republic, which
pounded Korea ten nothing on Sunday.

Speaker 4 (36:32):
Buddy, Maybe if the USA, you know, took that stick
that's up their butt out a little bit and like
actually had fun playing baseball and looked like they actually
enjoy being in this environment, they hit the ball better.
You know, there's one team who's having the most fun
of their lives, so that's Dominican Republican. All they're doing

(36:53):
is hitting monster home runs and scoring ten runs a game,
like they're having the time of their lives. And sad
we won't even shake hands with our opponent, which is fine.
I get oh or tough USA, USA.

Speaker 7 (37:05):
Tough guys, I'm not gonna shake the hand of my
own teammates because I'm gonna show how tough we are.
And then I remember every other countries dancing, singing, throwing
the bat, having the time of their lives, and we're
just uptight.

Speaker 2 (37:17):
Man, have fun, have some.

Speaker 3 (37:20):
Fun sports, drink espresso, have some fun, men and have
their Almoni jacket, have some fun.

Speaker 4 (37:28):
Sports are fun. You don't have to be the tough
guy each every day. Look, I mean, yo, like we
had someone a hero, right, someone you know, steal team six,
come and talk to the team before the game. I
don't know like how that applies, but okay, and that's

(37:49):
a you can certainly do that as a motivational tactic.
And the other guys are just dancing and singing and
having a great time in the locker om before the game.
Like maybe that's why we can't hit the baseball, right,
Like you know, it's just to me, it's about we
look like we are supposed to win and we're uptight.

Speaker 2 (38:05):
And we have this like again, like.

Speaker 4 (38:09):
I I I totally understand the tough guy thing. I
get it, but like to not just like shake the
hand or give adapt to like your boy who you
play with all year long. If you're cal Rawley. To me,
I think that's weird ant man, Like, I think it's odd,
Like he's your teammates, man, Like, hey, bub what's up, bro,

(38:29):
let's go, let's play. Like I think the USA super uptight.
I think they went into this thinking, you know, they
know they're the favorite, slight favorite and Dominican Republic and
it's gonna be a great matchup against Schimes with that lineup.
They got its just like show some fun, dudes, like
you have some fun, man, have some fun. It's it's
it's a it's a it's an exhibition, and it's it's

(38:52):
it matters right you want to have the crown.

Speaker 2 (38:54):
But like, man, we look up tight, buddy. Yeah, yeah,
it's true. You they really are.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
Man, They're depressing and it's funny. It's like this is
the world's greatest travel team and there is no flare,
there's no fun, a lot of pressure.

Speaker 2 (39:15):
I mean, I don't disagree with you, buddy.

Speaker 4 (39:17):
I've watched Tautis throw his bat and celebrate that home
run there like fifteen hundred times, like he he had
a big home run, which he's been. I wonder the MVP,
he's got to be up there for MVP as he's
had a great. He's he's got a great worlds great
NBC so far, and just have the most fun man
like he big home run through his bat like celebrating

(39:38):
with his boys. No one cares, right because it's it's
it's it's you know, you have big home run, celebrate
all you want and we're over here just like, Oh
the favorite still o TAWNI, I guess, and I guess
if you're to I mean Otani didn't judge the Tatis.
I mean Tatis has played better. This is more about
I think the odds of who's gonna win the pandemic
pitching though, I think I feel that score one hundred

(40:00):
runs on them if they if they face each other.

Speaker 2 (40:02):
Uh in the end, So I wish that.

Speaker 4 (40:05):
I wish the Dominican and UH in the U s
A were playing for the championship obviously, but they're not.
And uh, it be a lot of fun to watch
this game out. I will watch it on Sunday night,
eight o'clock.

Speaker 3 (40:19):
We got a great gay three o'clock we go Italy. Dude,
you can't sleep when he's got the U.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
S A in the in the final, I mean in
the in the round.

Speaker 4 (40:35):
I'll be look I'll be look at our first off,
walking in today, I'll probably you know, decompressing after after
a big win. Will try a little Italian, a little
Italian baseball. No, look, quatch, I I have a I
have a way droned Dominican. The wins, I hope. I
mean that's why you're Dominican. Wonder why my my money

(40:56):
is with the dominic d Dude? That wineup is Bly's sick.
Smash bro, Yeah, it's smash. It's just fun to watch.
Why can't why can't we have fun? America have fun?
Have fun?

Speaker 3 (41:12):
No, I mean Tatis Marte, Soto, Guerrero, Machado, Comonero.

Speaker 2 (41:21):
They're good. They're a lot of fun. All right.

Speaker 3 (41:24):
The madness is begune. Let's talk a little college coops
coming up. Good morning, good morning, good morning, happy happy
Fox Sports Saturday. Fellas hanging out with you, the madness beginning.

Speaker 2 (41:42):
Gotta love that baby. We love this time of the year.

Speaker 3 (41:47):
Got an NFL free agency with the madness there to
the conference tournaments. It's Jeff Schwartz, Anthony Gargano. Fellas right here.
You're on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app. Jeffrey. Yes,
a lot of fun, good games. We're gonna go through

(42:11):
some of that stuff today. What are your tentitive plans
for this coming week?

Speaker 2 (42:17):
Well, I mean I.

Speaker 4 (42:20):
Today, we've got the we got my softball game, tam.
I'm currently in the breaks finishing up the walk up
songs for the girls.

Speaker 2 (42:26):
And it's like an app and what's have your game today? Noon?

Speaker 4 (42:29):
So I don't know, like, can you do here's a
question for you, your your your sports sports parent. You
could do walk up songs an away game, right Like,
I have my speaker, I just put turn on, Like
I don't know you I'm gonna do walk up songs. Yeah,
so I'm finishing up that right now. Not every girl
gave a walk up song, so we have to just
sort of guess for other girls, I know what they want,
so but uh, I just I don't know. Like I've

(42:50):
asked the parents final love, I've asked them for weeks.
All got my I got everything ready to go, printing
my roster yesterday, the jersey's mostly mostly handed app out.
I see my daughter throw strikes. I mean, if you're listening,
please those strikes. She's not listening, but please those strikes.
Yesterday I had over one of our my daughter's friends

(43:11):
who also pitches for us, to practice a little bit
in the driveway before we played tomorrow. This was yesterday,
and we warmed up and we threw and they did
I did three batters for each girl. But we threw
like three total strikes and walked all six. And I
just if that happened today. I text my buddy. He's like,

(43:32):
you have to get tossed, like you have to do
a Bobby Cox. I just get thrown out. You have
to watch Bobby. So I just, uh, oh man, I
just I don't know I could do it. I don't
know I could do it. If we throw a bunch
of balls today.

Speaker 2 (43:51):
It's fantastic. Yeah, it's fantastic. Uh listen, you know it's
going to be ugly, like just you know, I mean,
that's that's that's what it is. It's gonna be a
little ugly to start. So, oh my god. When when
we had kid pitch, we first started kid pitch.

Speaker 3 (44:14):
All the walks and then you got people yelled the umpire.
There's nothing worse than the poor umpire trying to opt
these kids games at that age.

Speaker 4 (44:26):
Yeah, the thing that's gonna that's gonna it's gonna frustrate me,
is so one umpire, It's fine, they're ten you. Interference
is gonna it's gonna frustrate me because what's gonna happen is,
you know, we're gonna have a lot. We're gonna have
a lot of inter It's gonna be a lot of
interference like that when they stand over the stand over

(44:47):
the base, you know, and I just I don't like that.

Speaker 3 (44:55):
Just that fun with it, man, it's gonna be It'll
be great. You're gonna love it because get serious. Listen,
you know, this is our first year on the big field,
first full year, you know, playing sixty ninety buddy, Oh,
I know it gets that's a big difference.

Speaker 4 (45:11):
I just don't know how to say. I just don't
know how to like this. This ballpark, dj app it
seems to be very good. There's a lot of settings
I gotta turn on to make it work, and then
have to like give access to someone else because I'm
not doing this during the game.

Speaker 2 (45:23):
I'm not doing that. No, no, no, no no. You got
to give it to a mom. So one of the
parents has volunteered to do this, but I don't really know,
like the moms love that stuff.

Speaker 4 (45:33):
But I have to also edit the songs to start
like playing at the right time. There's a lot happening here. Man,
you dude, just get one of the moms.

Speaker 2 (45:43):
Do that. I get it. And oh man, I just
pressed a button to change the whole way out of this.
I don't like this. What did I do here? Oh boy,
I'll just give I told my worry about them playing
the game the right way.

Speaker 4 (45:58):
That's oh, I'm buddy. We're gonna hustle. We'll get a steal.
I don't have a steal signed by the love coaching
third base. I've told my coaches, like, these five girls
steal the first pitch every single time they're they're.

Speaker 2 (46:08):
Up at first space. That's great. I wish I could go, man,
I wish if I was down there, I go.

Speaker 4 (46:17):
So we're gonna My last thing I need to do
is set up the video for Game Changer, and so
once I do that, you can just I just give
you the way you can watch the game if you
would like. I don't have the I don't have it
uh set up yet because I I need my phone
during the game. I think I need my phone, but

(46:38):
maybe I don't, and I could use my phone next
time to do that. But we don't have video set
up for Game Changer yet, unfortunately.

Speaker 3 (46:45):
You got that's where you gotta get one of the
moms to use their phones.

Speaker 4 (46:49):
Yeah, to record the Yeah, I don't. I don't have
like the little I don't have the device holder yet.

Speaker 2 (46:53):
I don't have all that souf Okay, you put it
right behind home plate, I know. Yeah, yeah, and you
know obviously you would need to, you know, have someone
that has unlimited data. We don't have like Wi Fi
in our field. So that's that's part of it too.
So there's a whole thing with Game Changer, but it
I eventually want to get the game, but you have it.
You have it. You got a parent that's going to
score the game, right, one of their dads. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (47:14):
So so we have to have someone that does an
official paper score book. That's like a rule of our side.
So one of the moms volunteered to do that. It's
not you don't have to do it. It's not like
we don't do the Game Changer too, right, Yeah, So
we have someone do Game Changer. Someone has to do
the paper book, and then I need some need a
pair to do the songs.

Speaker 2 (47:32):
My wife would do it typically.

Speaker 4 (47:34):
But she my son has a has a scrimmage today,
so she won't be at the game. I don't think so.
Normally my wife would do the walk up songs. So
he's got baseball today too. Yeah, he's got a scrimmers.
They don't start for another couple of weeks, but he's
got a scrimmage today. Yeah, so there's a lot of
a lot of I'll come get off of here at nine,
take my son to a scrimmage for an hour, then
leave go to go to my game. I'll be home

(47:56):
by like two. I don't watch basketball the rest of
the day.

Speaker 2 (47:58):
You know. Yeah, it's perfect.

Speaker 3 (48:00):
Man, Well it's gonna be a great hoops day today.
Let me go through it a little bit with you,
because this is the best you got this weekend, and
you got all the conference finals and then and the
semis and tomorrow selections someday. It starts off Michigan, Wisconsin,

(48:20):
Wisconsin make it a little bit of a run. Michigan
in the one Big Ten Final semifinal tips off one o'clock, Yeah,
which they're eleven and a half. I kind of like
Wisconsin with the points.

Speaker 4 (48:37):
So I don't think we had a great comeback yesterday,
but actually it's a big Winnesday season, and so like that,
the comeback was surprising just in general. And then they
were down I think ten, twelve, fourteen points at some
point in second half, which you know, look, man, college basketball.
To me, it's why it frustrates to me at times

(48:58):
feels a lot like you're just watching to see which
team doesn't have a meltdown.

Speaker 2 (49:05):
It's it's it's not.

Speaker 4 (49:06):
Often about teams playing better, it's about just one team
just drought. Yeah, and I think in this game was
actually just Illinois playing much better. But Illinois, I mean Washington,
I mean Wisconsin. They beat Illinois this year, they beat Purdue.
They also be Illinois another time. They beat Michigan already
this season. They you know, they lost close to Nebraska,

(49:27):
their viable team, you know, Michigan yesterday sort of same thing,
like they were a big at Ohio State and barely
held on to win that game by four. I it's
I think it's twelve and a half for Wisconsin. I
probably would lean to, uh, what constant covering this guy
on where they win this game? But I think they
cover this game.

Speaker 3 (49:44):
Yeah, I think you can keep it close The other
early game today is the SEC semi and that's Florida
vander Belt.

Speaker 2 (49:54):
Florida's Nancy.

Speaker 3 (49:55):
I mean, that's one of the teams that I like,
you know, depending on what their bracket looks like, with
their road looks like.

Speaker 2 (50:03):
I like Florida a lot. For good Man, they could score.

Speaker 4 (50:07):
I think that you you have to think Florida, especially
when they played yesterday.

Speaker 2 (50:13):
I think it's really impressive. You'll when teams are playing
their first game of the tournament, right like Florida yesterday
was the first game of the tournament. Katucky had already
played twice. They'd want to believe two games ready, right, Yeah,
they'd be LSU and Missouri, and you know, Florida kind
of comes in cold. They play those those those one
seeds get to play earlier day, which I kind of hate,
but I get they get more rest. I guess that's

(50:34):
why they do it. I think it's I think it
sets up for a failure. You play those guys at
twelve thirty. Yeah, I know, I don't know why they
do it. Yeah, they get what they get three hours
of extra rest. Like, play them at seven o'clock. Why
would you want to play it? Rather or eleven eleven am.
Eleven am. Why is my nam of Ohio play at
eleven am? Or what are you doing?

Speaker 4 (50:52):
I hate it? But they look good yesterday. I think
that they they probably handle business again today.

Speaker 2 (51:00):
It's Vanderbilt. The other SEC semi is Arkansas against Ole
miss Ole, miss on a little bit of a heater
beat Alabama beat Georgia. Right, you beat Texas?

Speaker 4 (51:18):
Yeah? Yeah, I mean I think a cup's coming for
them tonight. Thirty seven last night. Yeah, I got a
Arkansas ticket like twenty five to one to win the championship.

Speaker 2 (51:32):
That's a good one. You know they have You know,
if you have a guy can get to thirty at night,
you got a chance right in the postseason, you got
a chance. Oh, I like it as a pizza bet.
That's a good pizza bet. Yeah. The other big ten
semi is Perdue and Ucla.

Speaker 4 (51:51):
You still it has one of the guys got hurt yesterday.
I think we went to see the status of him
before a winning for the Bruins last night. I know,
I think that you still interesting. You know, they're a
team that is super talented, but just didn't play that
way for a decent part of the season. They could
not win away from home. They got bludgeoned on road games,

(52:12):
and they've been so good at home this season. Obviously
they're playing this I think it's in Chicago or Indianapolis,
you know, so they're playing not in the you know,
the West coast time zone. Seeing them win these games
last couple of days as big because they again they
they had struggled this season and last year on the road.
They're a team that depending on where they're put in
the first round, I think they're sweet sixteenth. If they're

(52:34):
on the West Coast for the first two games, they're
gonna be.

Speaker 2 (52:36):
Sweet sixteen team. Like they're they're they're good, dentse good.

Speaker 4 (52:39):
Obviously injury last night, we got to figure out, you
know what what uh what what the status is for
their for their big man.

Speaker 2 (52:44):
But they they're they're a good squad man. They're good squad. Yeah,
I mean, so much is about to draw right, like
you know who you got, So I'll be curious.

Speaker 4 (52:55):
I just don't I just don't know if I trust Purdue.

Speaker 2 (53:06):
What's the line six and a half? It looks like
m I like Purdue. I like Purdue in that game
the h then you got to two heavyweights all in
the Big twelve final. This is unbelievable. Houston Arizona. That's

(53:29):
a great, great basketball game, especially after after last night.
Holy heck a bag what a what a finished last
night at Arizona game? Should I just can I just
say something quick? Cyclones, the the the Big ten, a
Big twelve? What do your your Your glass court was

(53:50):
a failure? Okay, which I anyone could have figured any court, baby,
anyone could have figured that out. And then what do
you do you you go to a.

Speaker 4 (53:58):
Wood court and you have the same crummy like gray
and black, boring court, like what I know it was
last I think it's last year's court that they just
used again. Yeah, but like, can we just have a
regular basketball court? Why can't things sometimes just be normal?
Like just put a regular court on.

Speaker 2 (54:18):
The yellow t court which is a disaster. Of course
it was disaster. It's a collide. You're playing class basketball court.
Of course it was a disaster. Yeah. Yeah, not good.
Oh my god, it's funny. Well people just try to

(54:39):
dress everything up. Man, it's hysterical. Uh. And then then
you go up to the garden. I wish I was
covering this one. This would be a good one Yukon
Saint John's. That's a heavyweight for the Big East Final
from the Garden. Great one Johnny's at the Guarden. Wow.

Speaker 4 (55:02):
What I love about this again is I enjoy little
hatred and they seems to hate each other.

Speaker 2 (55:09):
Yeah, I'm beginning with the coaches.

Speaker 4 (55:13):
I love it to no end that they hate each other. Early, great,
give me hatred and sports. We talked to this whole time, like,
give me some emotion, you know, give me some hatred.

Speaker 2 (55:27):
Oh, it's the best, it really is. I mean, it's
it's incredible stuff. Man. That's who do you so? Who
do you like? So they split? Right?

Speaker 4 (55:41):
You call it one the first and the same times
one the second. I have that, right, I believe I
You know I probably lean toward Yukon.

Speaker 2 (55:50):
Here, Yeah I do too. Probably probably you can't count
out the count man Petitah at home. But the guarded
Oh I know. Well, I mean those two coaches are
they can't stay at each other. It's the best. They can't.

(56:12):
They cannot. Good stuff. That's good. That's two great games.
And then and then the Saint John Dukon right here
on Fox. Wow, great stuff, it's.

Speaker 4 (56:25):
Gonna be great it's gonna be fantastic. It's a great
day of ball. We got Duke Virginia tonight. Duke is
playing through the injuries. Man almost lost the Florida State
the other night. Making it happen, making plays like so
there's eleven am today, Okay, they're playing Yale Cornell. Yale

(56:46):
is trying to you know, be uh the IVY League
representative like why why is that game at eleven am?
I mean maybe because you want to be on TV now.
The IVY League tends to play a little earlier games anyways,
But like, well, you want staggered the games, I guess,
but that's so eleven and you're you're.

Speaker 2 (57:04):
I mean you got to yourself the game study you
like all of a sudden.

Speaker 3 (57:10):
I mean, if you're if you're playing any later, I
just think you gotta you you got you got Michigan.

Speaker 4 (57:17):
I do like YO to cover that game and at
lay in three and a half. By the way, not
that you know, I lost the Cornell last time and
they played terribly. I think that that's a decent wager
there for you, old Yale.

Speaker 2 (57:31):
Don't forget the America East. Uh eleven eleven am?

Speaker 4 (57:35):
Yeah, Yeah, I just think if you're trying to if
you're trying to maximize your best team game in the postseason,
which you know it's been tough that the mid majors
have been like ravaged by by upsets. That's just not again,
like the best way to get in my opinion, to
play these early games. You don't I don't look to
get the best of of you know, it's not one
of my Ohio loss.

Speaker 2 (57:56):
But it also doesn't help you know, show So what
do you think? I love this, man, this is great something.

Speaker 3 (58:04):
Tomorrow we'll have a couple of other finals and in
selection Sunday and we.

Speaker 2 (58:08):
Know the brackets and it's like, yeah, let's go.

Speaker 3 (58:11):
But let me ask you, buddy, because there's a lot
of talk about this only as we get ready to
start this year's final, this year's NCAA tournament, about expanding
the tournament's at mating teams.

Speaker 4 (58:28):
No, no, these bubble teams stinker ready. We don't even
more teams. We don't need more teams. We don't need
more teams than the tournament.

Speaker 2 (58:39):
Do we want.

Speaker 4 (58:42):
A seventeen and sixteen team in the tournament? Get out
of here. No one wants that. I don't know you
don't think so. No, you can have. Now here's what
you can do. If you did it to eighty teams,
you would have.

Speaker 2 (58:58):
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, the first round.

Speaker 3 (59:07):
Ten games apiece. Second round is Saturday, Sunday, Monday. So
you're gonna add three days to the tournament. But we
already get.

Speaker 2 (59:19):
Three more days of wings and beer.

Speaker 4 (59:25):
I was one year. I went to with some where
I was working at. This is like seven years ago now.
I went to the tournament in Vegas and we sat
in a booth at the West Gate and one of
my colleagues in four days, I think consumed twenty seven

(59:48):
vodka red bulls in four days. It would be thirty seven,
had a couple more days on everybody. It feels healthy
to have that much alcohol that quickly in that many
days in a row. But if that's what you would
like to do, if that's your if that's your, yeah,
I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna hold
you down to that. But does feel like that's not healthy.

Speaker 2 (01:00:10):
And I've a red bull.

Speaker 4 (01:00:12):
Buddy just just like just making bats and pounding vocky
red bulls, and it didn't feel like the best thing
for your body. But hey, man, if that's what you
want to do, you know, be my guest. But my
point is, like we do. We already get basketball Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
It's not like we don't feel you know, the women. Yeah,
you're playing. I don't like to play in I never
liked to play. It's dumb, and I hate that they

(01:00:33):
call it first call it the first round. It's not
to be the first round. Is the first round on Thursday?

Speaker 2 (01:00:39):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't like those games. They're not But.

Speaker 4 (01:00:43):
You're gonna you're gonna adding more of this though. I'm
just telling you what's out there. Yeah, I don't. I
don't like it.

Speaker 2 (01:00:51):
So yeah, I'm not against it.

Speaker 3 (01:00:53):
If I get if I get tense, like you're adding
two substantive days right like now Tuesday and Wednesdays, the
two playing games at night.

Speaker 4 (01:01:05):
You're giving me full days. To me, it's it's more
about the idea that like, you know, I just the
tournament should mostly be about trying to find a champion,
not not a participation tournament. It feels like it's turn turn.
You know, you had more teams just to participat like

(01:01:25):
you what, you still got.

Speaker 3 (01:01:27):
A participation in tournament because you're gonna go. Do you
still gotta go? Somebody's gonna win it. You're gonna go
through the gauntlet. Do we need to see Auburn in
the tournament? Listen, I'm not arguing that. You know, at
some point, is it go from sixty four to eighty?

Speaker 2 (01:01:45):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:01:45):
I like, I feel it, But I mean, the bottom
line is, you're still gotta it's still a gauntlet to
go through. You're just doing it. You're not doing it
for the bubble team. It's not like football, right where
those teams belong at least like Notre Dame should have
been in, Like there are a couple of teams should

(01:02:06):
have been in, but we don't.

Speaker 4 (01:02:08):
Have all the teams that should be in that are
already in, So we're just adding teams to.

Speaker 2 (01:02:11):
I agree, I like, I agree with you.

Speaker 3 (01:02:14):
Like that's what that's the fundamental difference between where the
tournament is in basketball and where the playoffs are in football. Football,
there's not enough teams that mean, it's true for what
they want to do. Basketball, there's plenty of teams, yes,
but all you're doing is expanding the field to make
it bigger and more of a gauntlet.

Speaker 2 (01:02:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:02:37):
I just I've never thought to myself, man, we just
we just.

Speaker 8 (01:02:40):
See more teams, all right, speaking of more coming up,
I love this, dude.

Speaker 2 (01:02:52):
Oh I love it more NFL. We'll see where you
stand with this because I love it. Fellas hanging out Fox.

Speaker 1 (01:03:05):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:03:17):
Welcome back, Fellas. Jeff Schwartz Anthony Gargana from the Fox
Sports Radio Studios show. It has been announced that, uh,
there will be NFL football on Thanksgiving Eve.

Speaker 3 (01:03:40):
So the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, which is traditional party night,
there will be an NFL game.

Speaker 2 (01:03:49):
That they're gonna move into the Thanksgiving Eve business. How
do you feel about that, Jeff, I don't like it.

Speaker 6 (01:03:58):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (01:04:01):
So you know, just so Wednesday night before Thanksgiving, we
get football for like a month straight heading into that
Wednesday night, right, like we have those we got the
maction on Tuesday and Wednesday, Like, there's a lot of
ball right that Wednesday night there's no ball on right.

Speaker 2 (01:04:16):
It's a good family night.

Speaker 4 (01:04:17):
Go out, get my Christmas tree, go to dinner, just
enjoy before you have a weekend more full of football.

Speaker 2 (01:04:24):
I don't want to have to worry about scheduling around
when the NFL.

Speaker 4 (01:04:28):
Is gonna be on that night. It's just my personal opinion.
I don't feel like it's necessary to have football that night.
I enjoy the family time, I enjoy the preparation for Thanksgiving.
I don't feel the need to have to watch football
that night. If we watched it for months straight, we're
gonna watch Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday as many games we
can possibly consume. I don't think they need to. I

(01:04:49):
don't think they need a game that night. I mean,
you know, that's just I don't think they need game
that night.

Speaker 2 (01:04:56):
All Right, you're killed joy while I kill joy. I
watch more up all than anybody. I'm like, I just
I don't think they need it. I love it more
more more. I think it's great. It's great.

Speaker 3 (01:05:09):
First of all, it's not really a family night than
like forens because the family is today Thanksgiving Day.

Speaker 4 (01:05:18):
I mean, for for for me, it has been a
family knight. That's your tradition. So that's just that's just
my person. Yeah, so that's just my person. It can
it's my personal you know, obviously.

Speaker 2 (01:05:32):
Right now I will say this.

Speaker 3 (01:05:36):
Is that I do with special shouters a place, iconic
place called the Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia.

Speaker 2 (01:05:43):
Have you ever visited Philadelphia? I've been a ready, I've been. Yeah,
I know you have. I'm talking to the people. You
are a great foodie. I had surgery in Philly twice. No,
was it once? No? I had surgery in Philly yeah once.
I yeah. Yeah, we got renowned care here for that.

Speaker 4 (01:06:02):
It's kind of funny, like everyone's like, there's like the
four doctors that do all the searchers. Everyone everyone knows
where they are. I just say, up, uh, Yeph, what's
his face?

Speaker 2 (01:06:12):
Myers? You're like, Yep, Myers, Yep, that's the one. Yeah,
he's a good dude. Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:06:18):
Anyway, but that Wednesday, we're gonna have football.

Speaker 2 (01:06:23):
I love it. It's usually the night out. Cot kids
come up from college. They go out with their high
school buddies. It's a good night to go out. I mean,
you know, we just go for years. I do show
the Running Terminal Market and it's like a big iconic
show and then uh it's on TV with TV the
whole thing, and then we uh for hours and then

(01:06:43):
we always go out. I love I love the fact
that they'll be football out like on now, I would
prefer it not to be a working night for me
where it's the Eagles, but I love having the NFL football.

Speaker 3 (01:06:57):
So they're gonna do Wednesday night three games on Thursday,
and they're gonna add a second Black Friday game. So
you're gonna have the eight o'clock you have three o'clock now,
and you'll have.

Speaker 2 (01:07:12):
The eight o'clock Black Black Friday game. You like that. Look,
I'm gonna watch the football. I'm gonna watch it, but
it's a lot, it's a lot lot. Okay, I'm gonna

(01:07:33):
watch it all right now.

Speaker 3 (01:07:35):
They're also and then my man Mike Garratfolo from the
NFL Network said to me yesterday that they are working
on a permanent Christmas Eve slate.

Speaker 2 (01:07:56):
That feels again like, see, this thing is a personal charge.
I don't like. We don't you know, we're not Christmas people.
We're Jewish, like I don't. I don't like.

Speaker 4 (01:08:03):
So like that to me is not a night of
family like I would just one night for me, so
like sign up for more football, right, you know? But
but you know, like so it just depends on your
personal feeling about how you celebrate the holidays, right, so
like that's not a thing. Like typically where my family
is gone, they go skiing over over Christmas and I'm
not even with them. So I'm home by myself, me
and the dog and my grill and and my and

(01:08:25):
my stove. Like sign me up for more football. But
the Wenesday before Yeah, god, dude, I tell you what, Man,
I make so many Asian dishes now at home that
I just don't have to go to to get at
the order anymore. I made this one, this beef child
fun yesterday for lunch.

Speaker 2 (01:08:45):
Dude. It's so good. It's so if you just.

Speaker 4 (01:08:48):
Buy all the right ingredients, if you just have like
the right type of of cooking wine with you, the
right type of sauces, like, you can do all this.
You know, I got a little MSG you know, at
a little pop MSG in there.

Speaker 2 (01:09:00):
You know, you just do it all at home.

Speaker 4 (01:09:01):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:09:01):
You don't have order food anymore, do you? Uh? You
know what I mean? You know, how do you make
the hot oil? What do you mean oil? Hot chili oil? Uh?
You just because it's not just the chili, the chili
pepper and oil.

Speaker 4 (01:09:19):
You just put the you just put if you want
to make chili oil or you just or.

Speaker 2 (01:09:23):
You want the Asian chili oil is different. I don't. Yeah,
I buy that. It's got a different taste to it.
I just buy that. Yeah, we have to use you
have to use the right. You use the right. The
right chili is obviously. I used to like I could
get the chill.

Speaker 3 (01:09:38):
I'm a pepper man, So I do the chili and
I well, you just put it in and I do
the oil.

Speaker 2 (01:09:43):
But there's there's a different tages to it.

Speaker 4 (01:09:45):
Well, you just I mean the way you do it
is you just you just pour hot oil over the
spices and then you just save you just save it.

Speaker 3 (01:09:53):
Yeah, anyway, but that's your schedule. You're now Christmas Eves
sacred for me. He probably wouldn't wanted to watch football
that day. I I do. I host about you know,
like twenty twenty five people. Depends from year to year.
I cook a big uh uh. They call it the
Seven Fishes, So I do a big seven Fishes party.

(01:10:16):
But there's been times when Christmas Eve's been uh, you know,
on a on a weekend. Like a buddy of mine
is a big Steelers fan and he comes over every
year and they played on it like it was like
that Christmas Eve night and I was done cooking around nine.

Speaker 2 (01:10:35):
They they my wife put up the desserts.

Speaker 3 (01:10:38):
CEO's around so, you know, me and him his son,
like my father, we wound up watching. We were just
kind of locked into the second half of the game,
but that was it, and then and then and then.
But you're right in that it's it's just an I
always like I make again, there's a difference between your

(01:10:58):
team playing and it being on in the background. Correct,
when sports is on, it's comforting for me.

Speaker 2 (01:11:07):
Oh, it's a happy place where I can't lie. I
agree with that.

Speaker 4 (01:11:10):
But again, I feel like I just feel like if
there's an NFL game on, because it's my job, Like
I just I gotta sort of have it on, right.
So there's sometimes some nights where I'm okay with it
not being on. I'm like, okay, like taking a break
from like having to watch it. And again, I you know,
I I don't really like I like other sports too.

(01:11:32):
I don't really like I don't miss it right now
because there's so much basketball on, you know, I'll miss
it a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:11:36):
Like I just watch so.

Speaker 4 (01:11:37):
Much football between you know, the college football in the
NFL that I'm one of those people that like, doesn't
it just like I miss I do. I wish it was,
but like I'm okay with if it's not on for
a night. I think people just they just need to
have it on all the time. I'm not that type
of person. Again, I watch all the football. It's not
like I don't.

Speaker 2 (01:11:56):
I don't. I know you do, but I'm but.

Speaker 4 (01:11:59):
I'm like, but I'm okay to like have a night
like you know, nine four Thanksgiving where it's not on
you know, the NFL. I don't subscribe to the theory
that like they're gonna get too fat and that it
gets slaughtered right like the you know, because they choose
every night to be on television. Obviously there's a lot
of money involved in that. And with you know, these options,
you're allowing I think, you know, more ways to get

(01:12:21):
streaming services involved. You might have to have like eight
different ways to watch the game next season, who knows,
But these are just ways to get more money from
Netflix and Amazon and and maybe other you know companies
to continue you know, the collar cap going up. But
I get why they're doing it. I just think it's
okay to not have every night of the week football on.

Speaker 2 (01:12:38):
Yeah, I like it. I don't think there's anything wrong
with it. What do you make?

Speaker 4 (01:12:42):
So I'm curious about this, uh this night before this
Christmas Eve meal, it's you said, it's just it's just.

Speaker 2 (01:12:47):
Fish, right, yeah? Yeah, So what makes exact? Makes seven?
Seven different types of fish? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, it varies. Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:12:59):
There was an old school way like my grandmother, my
mother and like the family that they used to do the.

Speaker 2 (01:13:05):
Old school stuff calamari.

Speaker 3 (01:13:10):
I do some of them, but I modernized it like
my and there's always one pasta dish.

Speaker 2 (01:13:16):
So my pasta dish is crabs and spaghetti. Oh it
could be it could be shellfish too. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay,
yeah yeah. We do a shrimp tray because that's you know,
they have to accounts as one. I do smelts. I
do a lobster bisk. I do what smelts. Smelts are

(01:13:42):
these little fish?

Speaker 9 (01:13:44):
Okay, they're like they're bigger than that. Oh yeah, yeah,
they're better. Yeah, okay, they're bigger than that. I do
the scallop dish that they love. What I do with
you would like it. I do it with.

Speaker 2 (01:14:01):
Rum vanilla and butter sea salt nice and it's really
good because you have a sweet and savory and yeah,
they love that. I do. Uh, I don't know. I
do a bunch of a bunch. There's a salmon thing.
It sounds like more than seven fishes. Yeah, a lot

(01:14:22):
of times we'll go we keep it to seven, but
like you know, uh, the worst is like two days later,
the still smells like fish. Yeah that's a problem. Yeah,
but it's but people love it, like everybody loves It's
a big party and it's whatever. It's an Italian thing.
It's like good luck for whenever we have crab, we

(01:14:43):
always heat it up. If you want a little heat
on it on the grill outside, so don't stick the
house up. Oh okay, yeah, well I put it in
tomato sauce. Yeah, if you cook it obviously on the stove.
It's different.

Speaker 4 (01:14:55):
But like we just want to have like we order
crab boks every now and then, and that they're sort
of frozen. You have to warm up a little bit,
don't it tastes good A little bit, a little look,
a little.

Speaker 2 (01:15:05):
Steam you steam outside.

Speaker 4 (01:15:06):
I basically instead of steaming the pot, just do it
in the grill. Essentially, I have them like offset, not
under the flame, just so they can defrost and like
get a little bit of heat on them because it
gets a little bit better warm.

Speaker 2 (01:15:19):
And I'll do that on the grill. Son stick up
the house. But it's one of the great I love crab.
I love it.

Speaker 4 (01:15:24):
I like it better than a lobster. I dude, I
eat a lot of shrimp. I love a shrimp. To me,
is delicious. Yeah, a lot of ways to make it.
It takes flavor really well, right because you know it
cooks fast. It's just to me, it's very very good.
I got a food thing coming up, you know what.
I'll give it to you.

Speaker 3 (01:15:43):
It's called one beer three apps.

Speaker 2 (01:15:47):

You have a full session on Thursday, so you could
drink one.

Speaker 2 (01:17:10):
Beer all day. Yeah, and then you get three apps
to choose from. Yes, well, I don't drink beer, so
that's not I'm not the best for that that answer.
I don't. I don't drink much of anything, so I
can't give you a beer. Baldi said he would he
could do fifteen perons during the course of the day

(01:17:34):
and be unaffected.

Speaker 4 (01:17:37):
That's not surprisingly at all. Baldi's life is fantastic, dud, dude,
you and I is married. Guys, we're just like, oh,
you're going You're going to go hunt for shellfish off
the island of That sounds like a fun he got back.

(01:18:01):
He was in Turkey. We're talking about Brian Baldinger, who
was one.

Speaker 2 (01:18:03):
Of the greatest.

Speaker 4 (01:18:04):
Supposed to have film clips of Turkey. It's like, it's
a be NFL. There's a be NFL game.

Speaker 2 (01:18:08):
Here, look at the city. Yeah, he's the he's the greatest,
He's the treasure. Everybody should follow all these breakdowns. It's
so much fun. He's a great dude. Okay, So I
spent a lot of time with him, grinded tape and
it's he's last.

Speaker 4 (01:18:22):
So really, all you need for three chicken wings, we
kind of has appetizer, right, that's chicken wings obviously unbreaded fried,
unbreaded fried. I I agree with you. You can't do the
you can't the breaded wing. I don't like it, dude.

(01:18:44):
I was in Buffalo a couple of years back for
above Bill's cheese pilafkin. We ate at bar Bill best
ones ever had in my life, Buddy, I would eat,
I'd eat.

Speaker 2 (01:18:52):
Oh my god, wait, what makes him so good? Buffalo?

Speaker 4 (01:18:56):
Well, so they're unbreaded and fried, and the sauce is incredible,
Like it's the perfect blend of a little bit of
of heat but like not overwhelming. You like so for
me for the way I like. So the older I get,
the more kind of spice I like. In general, I
think it's maybe just as you get more you know,
your palate, it's a little bit better you enjoy. Like
as a kid, I never want any spice, but I

(01:19:17):
do like it now. But I don't like spice just
to overwhelm your palette. I like it as a flavor,
right like you you want. I'll give you example, Like
I don't like when you go to sushi restaurants and
they just give you like the siracha mayonnaise on everything,
Like you're like, what why is it? Why do you
put siracha on this? It doesn't all you taste is serracchi.

(01:19:37):
You don't taste anything with the sushi. You just you
always the sierracha. That to me is not what I like.
And so these wings and you know, there's some places
you go and you get like, you know, buffalo wings and.

Speaker 2 (01:19:47):
Just the sauce. It's just like loud and sauce, and
all you taste is a sauce, you know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (01:19:52):
These wings, dude, the flavor is just so good, Like
you get the heat of the it doesn't overwhelm you
and you get the the christ if they did fry
it perfectly, it's it's.

Speaker 3 (01:20:05):
Gotta be nothing worse than an underdone wing. So wings
for me, and then you just have to choose a carb. Right,
So like do you want like I love French fries,
like I would get French fries. I like nachos, but
they have to be done the right way. And that's
the problem. You have to you have to when if.

Speaker 4 (01:20:25):
You make nachos, they have to be the cheese has
to be layered in every layer. So you took you
put it, you know, a bed of chips cheese, right,
a betta chips cheese, A betta chips cheese.

Speaker 2 (01:20:37):
A party. The problem is is that a lot of
that's an impressive mabe.

Speaker 4 (01:20:42):
People just put like cheese on top of the whole thing,
and then you don't get so like done correctly. I
would take nachos as an advertiser, but they're not done
correctly a lot of the times. So all right, so
what do you three? You got wings? I would do
some sort of French fry and then oh man, I'd

(01:21:03):
be pretty set there. I could do like a like
a I see, I like salty so like if you
give me like a like a chips and gualk type
of thing, chips and salsa, Like what happened?

Speaker 2 (01:21:19):
So I did this thing? I got poppers.

Speaker 3 (01:21:21):
The one I like is cheese steak aggrolls. Have you
ever done cheese steak ggroll You probably make them? Buy
I made them at home like two weeks ago. No,
oh yeah, oh, I mean I mean cheeseburger egg rolls.

Speaker 2 (01:21:35):
The same, the same, the same thing as Buddy. I
don't pretty impressive, you are impressive.

Speaker 3 (01:21:42):
All right, Big We're coming up, Max Fellas all Fox,
Good morning, the.

Speaker 2 (01:21:51):
Morning, Happy happy happy Fox. Basketball Saturday. It's a OOP Saturday.

Speaker 3 (01:22:03):
I don't forget on Fox tonight six thirty, the Big
East Final U Con Saint John's from the Garden gonna
be a great one all day long. Basketball Selection Sunday,
and then we got the Great Spring Party. The tournament

(01:22:23):
commences right into the Masters and then the Draft. Baseball
good time of the year, good time of the year,
not football season, but still a very good time of
the year. NHL NBA playoffs after that, so we begin
after the February Douldrum's early March. Finally some good sports

(01:22:45):
welcome to the fellas Jeff Schwartz, Anthony Gargano every week
right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:22:51):
I love this time of the year, Jeff. I mean it's fantastic.
You know.

Speaker 4 (01:22:57):
What's funny is like when you start talking about this,
people say to you, like, oh, thanks for watching college basketball.

Speaker 2 (01:23:02):
And I've been watching all year. I just don't tweet
about all the time.

Speaker 4 (01:23:05):
I would I tweet about the college basketball in the
middle of football season.

Speaker 2 (01:23:07):
No one cares I have to say about that.

Speaker 4 (01:23:09):
I've been watching all year and and I mean, look,
I say this a lot. It wasn't true with some
of the games yesterday, right Like I think the Arizona
Iowa State game definitely didn't did wasn't this. I don't
think Oklahoma and Arkansas was like this? But do a
lot of these games, man, we're just watching to see
which team can bust and which team can just manage
to hold on them as well. A lot of these

(01:23:30):
games just turn out to be right because it's it's
you know, we got you know, the eighteen twenty two
year olds playing this game and a lot of pressure.
There's a lot of pressure on some of these top
seeds and from the smaller conferences and they just wilt. Man,
they will. Then some teams rise up. I mean, Saint
Louis has looked bad in multiple halves of games this year,
and they came all the way back yesterday. I mean,
so there's a lot of good happening during these games,

(01:23:51):
and the better teams are still sort of advancing and surviving.
So it'd be a lot of fun to watch today.

Speaker 2 (01:23:56):
Yeah, And you know, ultimately, ultimately it's about this tournament
and who can win it.

Speaker 3 (01:24:03):
And I do think that you guys have a good
half dozen teams that can win it. I know j
Billis said there were two. It's I think you said
Michigan Arizona. But you know, I think there's about a
half dozen teams that can win it.

Speaker 4 (01:24:20):
So Michigan to me, can obviously win it. Arizona can
win it, even although I am concerned with their ability
to just they can't. They can't make threes, right, And
so you know, let's say you're just you run up
against a good defense. I mean, Houston will be Houston's
defense is not what it has been in the past,
but it'll be curious to see them today, like what
if they're just not making their twos, like, are you

(01:24:41):
going to get you know, be able to get some
more you know some some you know essentially some threes? Right,
like I can you can you win if you can't
make threes? It's curious about that. Michigan obviously looks looks
good even though you know they're not. I don't think
as dominant as they have been.

Speaker 2 (01:24:55):
Uh and then Duke, I mean, I don't know why.

Speaker 4 (01:24:56):
I guess they're hurt, right, that's the reason why Duke's
not gonna win or can't win. I think they could
certainly win the championship. Look I mentioned earlier, if you
have a guy in a cuff that scores thirty at night, Arkansas, concernaly,
there'd be a long shot. But that they're they're in
the discussion. I think right to win. You know, can

(01:25:18):
Florida do it again? Absolutely? The way they've been playing, I.

Speaker 2 (01:25:21):
Think Florida's legit.

Speaker 3 (01:25:23):
Like honestly, Michigan Florida I think are legitimate. I think Arizona,
I think Houston, I think Yukon. I think obviously Duke,
I know that they they have injuries, but you know,
who'd you go.

Speaker 2 (01:25:43):
On Yukon. I like Yukon.

Speaker 4 (01:25:46):
Houston and me, I, I you know, they're they're calling
card for so many years was you know, was that
defense is not as good anymore. I think they still
struggle offensively too much for me at times. I it's
hard to take teams in my opinion, that just have
these moments offensively where they just can't score. And the
teams we've mentioned so far, Mischigan does have this problem

(01:26:09):
every now and then. But you look at a team
like Florida, a team like Duke and Duke again, they
had that first Carolina game where they just didn't score
for you know this, they went nine minutes and scored
ten points whatever it was. So everyone sort of has
a moment every now and then, but the teams we've
mentioned score just kind of just don't ever have those
big goals, right, And and that to me is super important.

(01:26:30):
You're trying to pick a winner, right because these games
it's not a best of seven, right, And so it
makes this very unique competition where you have an entire
season of thirty plus games and it comes down to
playing individual games in a playoff format, right. And so
you to me, you have the different ways to win
in these type of games, and you know, you know,
can you avoid that really cold streak that they kind

(01:26:50):
of can cost it. We saw that, you know last
year with Duke Right, they've had a cold streak out
of nowhere and that's the end of their season.

Speaker 3 (01:27:00):
I mean, listen, I mean, I think you're right that
the lolls make it harder. But actually, man, you get
to this tournament, it's guard play man, it's all guard.

Speaker 2 (01:27:10):
Plus and veteran. Veteran teams tend to do a lot better.

Speaker 3 (01:27:13):
Yeah, you know, I mean, I listen, I just I
think it's my only point in saying I mean, yeah,
there's teams that I like better, and obviously like I
like Iowa State, right, I know they lost, but I still,
like I was staying, I know Illinois lost, but I
like Illinois. I mean, once you get it, who's what's
the path? What road do you have? And then let's

(01:27:36):
go right, Like, let's see, like there's I think you've
got about a half dozen teams, you know, six to
eight teams.

Speaker 2 (01:27:43):
That I have a shot at this thing. I think
it's that good.

Speaker 4 (01:27:47):
I think you're probably on the right track there. It
wouldn't surprise you if any of the teams you mentioned
all one I just I'm not betting. I just I
don't think those I won't put money on those teams
to win. This feels like a tournament that you know,
the top seeds. I'll tell you what's interesting. There were
a lot of upsets in the mid major conferences, and

(01:28:09):
a lot of the one seeds that we're gonna be
in the tournament are not gonna be in the tournament now.
And I think we're gonna have a very very chalky
first two rounds. I'm counting around thirty round a third
of sixty four and round of thirty two because a
lot of these, you know, twelve thirteen seeds, fourteen seeds
that had good seasons are not in the tournament anymore.
They're being replaced by a sixth seed from a group

(01:28:31):
of five, a mid major in a group of five,
And I mean, Miami, Oh, I did go it? Make No,
they're in. Uh, they're just gonna lose to if they're
gonna play.

Speaker 2 (01:28:45):
I'm with you. I do think you're right that, but
they should will be a lot of there won't be
a lot of upsets. But I think it's gonna be
a good tournament. So I mean, do you need the upsets.

Speaker 4 (01:28:56):
I don't no, no, no, but I'm saying like, I
just think it's gonna be there. If you're putting on
your bracket. It's a you know, the teams that would
have had a chance to beat a four seed are
not the tournament this year because they lost their conference tournament.
That's my point. So yeah, just be on the lookout
for that when you when you make your bracket. I

(01:29:17):
think it's like, I think all the top four seeds,
for the top sixteen teams are going to be pretty
heavily favored to win a lot of those games you're
not going to get, you know, those thirteen seeds that
I think are as attractive in previous years.

Speaker 2 (01:29:31):
So that's, you know, that's something to watch. I agree.
I agree with that. You're right the watch out there,
minam Ohio.

Speaker 4 (01:29:38):
It would be very funny if they put them against
all Burnon like the first four game. Look, I would
much rather see a team like that, Minao Ohio.

Speaker 2 (01:29:50):
Thirty one and one. Yeah, dude, their numbers aren't great.
Those friends is not great.

Speaker 4 (01:29:55):
They've had some three overtime wins, they've had seven games
with one by five points or least, like you know, whatever,
the numbers aren't great, but they won the games, and
they won the games in the end, they won the
games they had to win in the end. I'd rather
see them have a chance, that Alburn have a chance.
You see a seven and sixteen seventeen sixteen Auburn team

(01:30:15):
in Miyam, Ohio. If you have a sixty fourteen tournament,
had sixty eight teams, now sixty eighteen tournament, give me
the Mina of Ohio. Give me the one extra mid
major team over the one or two ACC teams SEC
teams that to me.

Speaker 2 (01:30:35):
Just aren't very good. Yeah, the numbers are going to
be better. I get it.

Speaker 4 (01:30:38):
I get the numbers being better. They play in a
better conference, it's true. But I'd rather see those teams
get in and have a chance to play in this tournament,
to maybe have an upset over a team with Auburn
that has no chance to do anything in the tournament.
In college football, it's different because you only have twelve teams. Right,
A team like Notre Dame who gets left out, who's

(01:30:59):
a legitimate right, but they have legity, has no one's
being left out of this tournament that does that has
a chance to win a Championship first college football right now.

Speaker 2 (01:31:08):
It is likely because the Irish were good enough to all.

Speaker 3 (01:31:10):
Birds not beaten any of the top eight schools that
I just rapped off.

Speaker 2 (01:31:16):
So that's why I'm strongly four my oh, I would
be in. I agree, I think you're I think you're
spot on with it. I put That's always been my thing,
and that's why for the West Coast.

Speaker 4 (01:31:30):
Conference teams, put in Gonzaga, you know, Santa Clara and
and uh and Saint Mary's, like, put them all in.
I'd rather have them in over over Indiana, you know, Stanford.
I don't want to see it. You know, we did
this last last week. We were looking at bubble teams
and we noticed I had to look at like I

(01:31:50):
thought they'd be in the top half of their conference,
and like Virginia Tech was like twelve in the a CEC.

Speaker 2 (01:31:56):
They're not. No one wants to see that. Come on, no,
you mean I have Oh, yep, yep, all right, let's
do this. Let's take a kill, Let's take a CEO.

Speaker 3 (01:32:05):
But I want to come back with a nice long
segment and dive into rapid fire NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:32:12):
Okay, now that the week's over.

Speaker 3 (01:32:14):
In free agency, like the big call, the big stuff,
and just the scraps from the table until we get
to the draft. Let's take a look at each team
and then I want you to size them up. All right, Okay,
give a little draft at grade whoever you want. I
mean a draft greade, a little free agent grade where
they stand. That's coming up next. Back to football. Right

(01:32:36):
here on, you're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio. Welcome back,
fellas say. For over forty years, ty Iraq has been
helping customers find the right ties for how, what and

(01:32:56):
where they drive. Ship fast and free back by free
road hazard production with convenient installation options like mobile tire
installation ti rack dot com the way tire buying should be.
Now here's the tire rackplay of the day. Let's go
to Arizona Jaden Bradley. How about it at the buzzer

(01:33:18):
against Iowa.

Speaker 4 (01:33:19):
Stay Bradley driving on tore looking for the shot, drives right,
hang it from.

Speaker 2 (01:33:26):
Their heads, God and the pets? What Jaanon? Bradley hangs
it for two cats under the finals. That was it.

Speaker 3 (01:33:36):
Arizona advances in the Big twelve title game.

Speaker 2 (01:33:39):
Arizona Radio on the call.

Speaker 3 (01:33:43):
All right, my man, let's do it. Let's get over.
Let's do a little uh free agent recap. Okay, here
we go. I gave you the bills earlier. What do
you think about Buffalo?

Speaker 2 (01:34:01):
I don't know how they They got, you know, remarkably.

Speaker 3 (01:34:05):
Better Dj Moore, Bradley Chubb. Eh, they gave up a
two and a five for DJ Moore? What do you
what was your grade?

Speaker 2 (01:34:15):
Big U B minus?

Speaker 3 (01:34:20):
Yeah, Dolphins go get Malik Willis to be their quarterback.

Speaker 2 (01:34:25):
Do you like that? Okay, I'm glad we'll get to
this all right. So, Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:34:33):
One thing that I I don't understand about NFL, well,
I do understand NFL media. It's because you know, they
have friends in the industry. I don't care. I have
enough friends. I don't need to make friends anymore. Everything
is the best ever, right, Like this guy has Oh
he's so talented, he's great signing blah blah blah. Okay,
here's you about Malik Willis. Let's be honest. Okay, if

(01:34:55):
he were good in Miami, he would be the outlier
of all our wars of NFL success. Like, I'm gonna
lay this out for you, guys. I just listen to this. Okay,
he is in his fifth He's going in his fifth
year on his third team. He has started six NFL
games in his career. Okay, six NFL games in his career.

(01:35:17):
He played for the Tennessee Titans, who of course weren't
good when he was there, and the Green Bay Packers.
All right, he started three with the Tennessee Titans as
a rookie and three with the Green Bay Packers over
the last two years. And he's entered games at times
right as a backup because Jordan Love has gone hurt.
He's attempted one hundred and fifty five passes in four seasons. Okay,

(01:35:38):
he's on his third team. As I mentioned, he's a
third round draft pick. For him to be good would
be stuff of legends think about. And I know people
will say, well, how about Sam Darnold he got to
his fourth team and was good, or Baker Mayfield in
Tampa Bay. And my pushback is always Gino Smith right
with the Seahawks. My pushback is always the same thing.

(01:36:02):
Those guys were either first round picks high second round
pick in Gino Smith, and had started before they were
They played as a starter for multiple years before not
falling out of grace and then becoming a starter again
somewhere else. Malik Willis has never started. He's never been

(01:36:23):
starting quarterbacks. He's gonna go from attempting one hundred and
fifty five pass I'm looking at it right now.

Speaker 2 (01:36:28):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (01:36:29):
Jordan Love last year his quarterbacks fifteen starts, four hundred
and thirty nine passes, So he's gonna he's gonna three
and a half times passed the ball this season for
the Miami Dolphins. Know the NFL is littered with first
round picks as franchise guys, and then you know, Jalen

(01:36:49):
Hurts right, like second round pick, middle of the second round,
Tyler Schuck middle of the upper second round, Dak Prescott,
fourth round party, seventh round. So it's most first round
picks right or franchise guys. A couple guys sprinkled in there,
but the guys that are sprinkled in there. Dak Prescott
started as a rookie. Rock Party started as a rookie.
Jale Hurts sat for a little bit, but they got

(01:37:10):
rid of Carson Wentz four, Jalen Hurts right, Tyler Schuck
sat a couple games, and like, ah, he's got to
start now, Malik Willis did none of those things, right,
none of those things. So to put your faith in
a guy that through year five has no starts six starts,
that's it. I was even looking around in fregency thinking
to myself, like, how many other guys were signed by

(01:37:33):
teams that were essentially backups to be starters?

Speaker 2 (01:37:37):
Right, there's like one.

Speaker 4 (01:37:39):
Like the chief sign of d tackle who kind of
started like fifteen games in his career, but he started
like ten of them last season, Like he became a
starter for the Patriots, like a good defense.

Speaker 2 (01:37:51):
This is rare, man. Even I think back to my career.

Speaker 4 (01:37:54):
Okay, I was I had when the Giants signed me,
I'd started like twenty five ish games over six years,
and that was all because of injury. I was a
full time starter, got hurt, bounced around, were gained a
starting role, and then got signed again.

Speaker 2 (01:38:13):
That's not Malik Willis at all.

Speaker 4 (01:38:15):
No, No, so, dude, he would be an outlier of
NFL history to be good in Miami. And I don't know,
we just can't say that always talented. Everyone's talented. It's
why they're in the NFL. Everyone has talent. Oh, he's
got a big arm, so does every quarterback. I mean,
who doesn't have a big arm? You tell me someone
who's like who?

Speaker 2 (01:38:31):
Really? Too? Okay, too was accurate.

Speaker 4 (01:38:34):
That that's a superpower, like who, Everyone has a big arm.
There's an NFL. So I just I don't buy this
idea that he's gonna be good in Miami. There's no
NFL history that he'll be good in Miami. Zero whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (01:38:46):
All right, let's go to Patriots. Do you agree with me,
by the way, I don't. Here's the thing I do
agree in that I think you'd make a great point
about games played, like you gotta play more games like
you're You're spot on about Baker and you know having

(01:39:07):
when you play that many games, Donald's like when you
like Donald played, So when you play like you take lumps,
you learn the whole thing. The other thing that that
I'm pessimistic about, like because I like his skill sets, right,
I do. He was also when he came in for
those handful of games, he goes, look out good he

(01:39:28):
played well. He's he's playing in the quarterback friendly offense, right,
A really good coach that really understands how to get
the most and best out of your quarterback. I'm kind
of afraid that he goes down there. I I you know,
I don't know what they're how they're going to develop.

Speaker 4 (01:39:46):
Just Also, there's also a difference between coming in as
a backup and being the full time starter. We see
this all the time over every position. Right, when you're
asked to be the starter, it's a different life. A
you have, you have more responsibility, right. Two, there's more
film right like teams, As you get more film on

(01:40:07):
you, you have to adjust. We've never seen how Malik Willis
has to adjust to teams having four games of film
on him.

Speaker 2 (01:40:17):
Yeah, never seen it before. Yeah, yeah, all great, doesn't
even know how to do it. He's never done it before. Okay, enough,
Milik Willis, go ahead, Sorry, all right.

Speaker 3 (01:40:24):
Patriots, their big move was Dobbs, spending eighty million on Dobbs.

Speaker 2 (01:40:34):
Yeah, they've only done anything. I'm kind of surprised that
Jones they've sort of sat out this this.

Speaker 4 (01:40:39):
Pragency, haven't they. Which again, a lot of teams do.
I'm not surprised. I think that that's a C signing, don't.
I don't know if I love it.

Speaker 2 (01:40:45):
Yeah, I'm not. I'm not in love with that.

Speaker 3 (01:40:47):
Gino Siman goes back to the Jets at a place
to franchise tag On Priests Hall.

Speaker 2 (01:40:56):
Yeah, there's a lot you got, you got making Fitzpatrick. Okay,
see so f F forty. Some only have a choice.

Speaker 3 (01:41:08):
But the Ravens, renigg On the trade uh side Tray
he and side Tray Hendrickson.

Speaker 2 (01:41:16):
They lost like some.

Speaker 4 (01:41:18):
Of their players. I mean there's deals at a I
think it's a really good deal for them.

Speaker 2 (01:41:21):
Yeah. I just you know, we talked earlier about the
Crosby thing. I just think they just they got out
of that. They didn't want to They didn't want that,
So I mean it is what it is. They allowed
to do it when go to get a receiver, I
mean never I mean, geez.

Speaker 3 (01:41:37):
Ma fe three years sixty million in say in Cincinnati.

Speaker 2 (01:41:43):
So the thing I'm.

Speaker 4 (01:41:45):
Always curious about when guys leave good defenses is are
they probably the defense they're in or they you know
that that special player, right and you take him out
of out of you know, Seattle now and is he
going to be the same player in Cincinnatia. I think

(01:42:07):
I think yes, probably Right linebacker tip typically, I think
you can carry position to position. But the Bengals just
have so much work to do at linebacker over a defense.

Speaker 2 (01:42:15):
I mean, it's a signing for them in my opinion. Yeah,
and they get Jonathan Allen, they sign him two years,
twenty six million. They signed Brian Cook three years forty million.
So you got your big kind of safety in the
middle of the field. So, I mean they try, and
I give him credit for trying. I do give credit

(01:42:38):
for trying. They get it. They get a credit for that.

Speaker 3 (01:42:40):
Yes, Cleveland Day trade for Titus Howard, they signed Jenkins.

Speaker 2 (01:42:51):
They're trying to fix their line. Yeah, they're a decent
job trying to fix their line. I mean that was
the main port, the main Their main focus is free
agent per which I think was smart. Yes, I'm okay
with what they've done so far. Steelers man Rico Dall

(01:43:13):
Michael Pittman. I mean, I don't know, you feel like
they're gonna run Aaron Rodgers. They got Brisker. I like Brisker.
I don't which I don't love. Yeah, I think you
need way more on offense, don't you. Yeah, way more? Uh.

(01:43:36):
Texans they trade for David Montgomery.

Speaker 4 (01:43:43):
They I mean, what do you think you need running back?
That was healthier offensive line? I think they signed one guy. Right,
they signed Braden Smith. I think the Colts they you know,
average grade, and I don't feel like they've done terribly much.

(01:44:03):
But again, I mean, look, a lot of teams don't
do much effraigency. That's in the first wave. That's just
that's what the sport is, right. The best teams typically
don't do that.

Speaker 3 (01:44:14):
No, the best teams usually resign their own is really
when it comes down to.

Speaker 2 (01:44:20):
But they had to fix the line.

Speaker 3 (01:44:21):
They I mean, their whole thing is that line has
been a disaster because the only way you're gonna get,
you're gonna survive with the quarterback is if you protect them.

Speaker 2 (01:44:30):
Correct. Yes, I did think they overpaid. I love read
blanket ship, great kid, but they gave him twenty four
million in change.

Speaker 4 (01:44:42):
Look, man, again, these deals, the real deal is of
course different than the actual numbers. I just see these
numbers and it's not really what they get. I'm curious
what actual deal is. Yeah, I mean sixteen and it's guaranteed.
So two years of this deal is guaranteed.

Speaker 2 (01:45:04):
That's not that's not it's not a ton of money.
I mean eight million and change. I think so.

Speaker 3 (01:45:14):
I was surprised anyway, the Cults re signed Daniel Jones
to a two year, eighty eight million dollar deal could
be worth up to one hundred and includes more than
sixty million guaranteed. Fifty is guaranteed in the first year.

Speaker 2 (01:45:35):
And they and they pair that with Alec Pierce becomes
the highest paid receiver in football, resetting the market one
hundred and sixteen million bucks eighty four million guaranteed.

Speaker 4 (01:45:52):
You know, so the general manager has been there nine years,
when Chris balisbir nine years? Do you how many times
they've been the playoffs in nine years?

Speaker 2 (01:46:06):
Go ahead? Was did you take your guess once once? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:46:14):
I'm just like, is that if Harry Roseman made the
playoffs once and nine years, would he keep his job?

Speaker 2 (01:46:19):
No, he would not.

Speaker 4 (01:46:20):
Yeah, I don't, I don't, okay, peers. So so Daniel Jones,
I gave thirty seven million dollars to the Treasures attack, right,
And the idea was that, like that was cheaper than
the franchise tag And that would have been a one
year deal for thirty seven million dollars. And yeah, it
would have been thirty seven dollars on the cap. It
would have crushed your cap. I get it. So I

(01:46:42):
said they give him a two year deal that essentially
guarantees him fifty million dollars instead of thirty seven, right
up to sixty million if he's injured he can't play
right and then obviously next year he gets the rest
of that contract. And really this is the treasure tag
plus the franchise tag.

Speaker 2 (01:46:59):
He get eighty million for next season.

Speaker 4 (01:47:02):
But is Diane Jones off an injury? Like I just
pair of Alec Peerce. I don't get what they're doing.
You know, Andrew Luck retired nine eight years ago, Like
you got to figure out quarterback man Daniel joneses not
is just not the answer. I don't know what the
answer is, to be honest with you. But paying them

(01:47:22):
all that money plus Alc Pierce off his best year
of an NFL, NFL career, I know they're not making
the playoffs this year.

Speaker 2 (01:47:29):
Again, I'll tell you that. I'm I'm gonna take there.
I'm taking their under for the season, all right, Uh?

Speaker 3 (01:47:36):
Titans Juan Dale Robinson seventy eight dollars.

Speaker 4 (01:47:44):
What I saw a tweet that was like basically like
Robert sala and and and Brian Dable. I'll bring it
back all the players that got them fired at their
previous jobs.

Speaker 2 (01:47:55):
Really, what are you do with Daniel Bellinger?

Speaker 1 (01:48:01):
One?

Speaker 2 (01:48:01):
Dale Robinson? Man, that's all about who you know in
this business, right.

Speaker 3 (01:48:05):
They get Franklin Myers three years, sixty three million dollars. Yeah,
let'll do something a lot teke tail your three years
sixty million.

Speaker 2 (01:48:16):
Bucks for a lante. Don't love it, no, man, I'm
gonna tell you.

Speaker 4 (01:48:30):
All right, broncos they does nothing, zero zero signings.

Speaker 2 (01:48:36):
But resigning guys. The only guy that they they resigned everybody. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:48:43):
Again, I had a uh uh somebody league say it's
just fools gold out there, and the best way to
do it is pick one player who you think is
the difference in building your team, Like the Eagles wing
like identified Sae Kwon Barkley all right two years ago

(01:49:06):
and it helped him.

Speaker 2 (01:49:08):
Right. The Rams this.

Speaker 3 (01:49:09):
Year say why we need we need a cornerback stud
in the middle of our secondary It was a problem
last year.

Speaker 2 (01:49:16):
They get Trent McDuffie and then add Watson too, Just
for for grins and giggles. Did Chief sign Kenneth Walker?

Speaker 4 (01:49:28):
Yeah? And they also you know they let go like
their entire second area is gone, right, Yes, I uh
I like to sign, and I got a buddy of
mine is not too happy about that. Oh, I know,
but it's his fault for developing all these guys, to
tell me, you know, if he developed if he was
worse than his job, he wouldn't wouldn't they wouldn't get
rid of asset players. So, h Kenneth Walker interesting. So

(01:49:53):
I was abay this with with my brother, you know,
like so I I said, when he signed him, you
know I I think the Chiefs are they going to
change their offense for him?

Speaker 2 (01:50:02):
Right?

Speaker 4 (01:50:03):
And my brother made the argument, it's valid that you
know any reasons unlikely to do that, which makes sense,
which is true. But you know, if you just are
able to do what they do now, but add in
two explosive runs a game, right, because they have zero
explosive runs. You know, if if Isaiah Pacheco needed three yards,
he gets you three yards. If he needed six, he

(01:50:23):
gets you three yards. Like the least explosive rushing in
the NFL. And Kenth Walker is the most explosive running
back in the NFL. He adds that to the offense.
I know they overpaid. I know you don't want to
pay for running back, but they just need. They need
that on offense in the worst way. They overspent because
they just failed to have that position stock the way
they need to. So I like that side just to

(01:50:43):
give another option for Mahomes coming off that injury, right, Like,
that's run the ball a little bit more. But there's
a lot of work to be done on that roster.
The secondary is now super young, right, and I imagine
they add to that secondary again in the draft. They
did sign a safety from the Ravens, Travis Kelce is back, uh,
but still wid wide receiver is really lacking.

Speaker 2 (01:51:04):
They signed Thornton back.

Speaker 4 (01:51:05):
I I you know, maybe he's gonna develop into a star,
but there's a lot of holes that roster.

Speaker 2 (01:51:09):
Still.

Speaker 4 (01:51:09):
The ten half win total that's posted for them feels
way too high, buddy, way it does.

Speaker 3 (01:51:14):
It does Raiders, So they get Crossby have to take
Crossby back after spending a lot Jalen Neller Tyler linderbound,
which I was gonna get your take on that and
that deal. I think it's smart, but they paid for it.
Quitty pay goes there to Kobe Dean kway Walker both.

Speaker 2 (01:51:39):
Get real money.

Speaker 3 (01:51:41):
They acquire Tyron Johnson, so Toron Johnson goes there. What
do you what do you think about the Linderboump thing. Know, one,
you're gonna get Mendoza and pairing him with his center.

Speaker 4 (01:51:59):
So so the Raiders are no datably better right now
with the additions they've made on their roster. I'm believe
like they just are better football team. The linder Bomb
one is interesting. So I think that that NFL history
will tell you that you can't have a good quarterback,

(01:52:20):
elite quarterback without a good center. Like think about even
just right now, right like, think about the best offenses
in the NFL, the best quarterbacks in the NFL, their
centers are above average. You just look at the history
of the NFL. Right, centers typically stay with the quarterback. Right,
it's such an important position. And to have to have
that veteran linder Bomb with Mendoza is going to help

(01:52:42):
him so much.

Speaker 2 (01:52:43):
Right, he may be.

Speaker 4 (01:52:43):
Overpaid, and there's some injury history the question marks there
with the neck. I think, but ers had to do it.
They needed a veteran center, they need offensive line help.
I like what they did. And even again you say yourself,
well they got better in frequency and then also.

Speaker 2 (01:52:59):
At a Max Carl. It back to the line.

Speaker 4 (01:53:00):
But it's a much better team, no doubt about it.
It's a much better roster than it was last season.
Yeah yeah, tight end and center. By the way, tight
end and center you can't have. You need either of
those to beget an offense.

Speaker 2 (01:53:14):
Agreed. You know, it's nuts Charges to do anything offensive
line beyond it and strange I think, right, it got strange.
I don't know. I mean, they we sat out of
their guys. They need a receiver. They got Charlie Kohlar.

(01:53:38):
I actually liked that move. I the Chargers are short
of build their offense around in the run game, right, Yeah,
but you still need these forget justin Herby, he's the
throwing gives them out.

Speaker 4 (01:53:55):
Just by the way he is living his best life
right now. Yeah, he's just he's out of doubt with
his new with his new girlfriend man, and she's like,
you know, she's like a uh you know, uh artist, and.

Speaker 2 (01:54:08):
He's good for him. I'm it's good.

Speaker 4 (01:54:11):
It's so funy because it's so funny because you know,
he's just like quiet kids from Eugene who everyone was like,
you know, the pre draft stuff was sort of like,
you know, I don't know if he has if he
can be a leader. It's just so quiet now he's
like dating.

Speaker 2 (01:54:23):
Like oh yeah, yeah, that's awesome. Yeah, good for you.

Speaker 3 (01:54:28):
Justin Uh we'll take quick t come right back, finish

Speaker 3 (01:55:17):
All right, Uh, let's get let's go wrap a fire
real quick.

Speaker 2 (01:55:21):
I wanted to finish it. Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:55:23):
What do you think about the Cowboys? They re signed
the Pickens and Javonte Williams is a big deal. They
add for that dreadful defense. They add Rashawn Gary, which
I don't like.

Speaker 2 (01:55:38):
Dude. See, this is the thing about the crossby trade.
They probably would have been on the.

Speaker 4 (01:55:41):
Crossby Trade if they had known he was available again.

Speaker 2 (01:55:46):
Yeah, I don't. I don't like Gary. He lost weight
and you don't have the same power. We tried to
get Leaner. I don't know. I don't think they did
enough defensively, buddy either. You know, giants get Isaiah likely
to play tight and I'm not sure what you think

(01:56:11):
of of what the Giants did. He sort of like Ricard,
He's sort of like a guy that you know again,
like just doesn't have a ton of reps.

Speaker 3 (01:56:20):
Yeah, Eagles just the big thing was they re signed
Jordan Davis. They're they're a tough cap spot. I know
they're gonna resign Jalen Carter. They're working on a deal
for Carter. They're gonna have to pay Cooper dejen quinnyon Mitchell.

Speaker 2 (01:56:39):
So they're kind then they really keeping them or what's
the deal with that? Yeah, I was told.

Speaker 3 (01:56:44):
I was told yesterday that he's here, keeping him for
now for the like they expect him to.

Speaker 2 (01:56:53):
Be part of the team like that.

Speaker 9 (01:56:57):
They've told them, like, you're not going anywhere, okay.

Speaker 3 (01:57:01):
So they've talked to him, said hey, you know, and
I think he's I think he's okay with it. Look,
how you wanted if you're going to get if you
were going to trade him, you got to get two
ones or slept the close to that, and they weren't
getting it.

Speaker 2 (01:57:14):
He's a forty million dollar cap hit. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:57:18):
Yeah, so you know they were trying to do to
do it, and they had a couple of teams interested
but never got their price.

Speaker 2 (01:57:26):
Washington, Do you understand Washington? Not really?

Speaker 4 (01:57:32):
I mean, I like the Tunsil. I'll bring Tunzel back.
They had to do that, I felt like. But yeah,
I don't mean sometimes they feel like a team that
doesn't either had a plan last year.

Speaker 2 (01:57:38):
I don't know. I don't know what the plan is now. Yeah,
I mean one hundred million for away, Yeah, a lot
of money, get buddy, a lot of money. I think
the Bears are going to be good.

Speaker 4 (01:57:58):
So here's my thing about the Bears this year is
that history will tell you that when you win a
lot of close games and next year you lose a
lot of close games. And that's my concern about them
is they won so many games last season at the
very end by one score. They won six games in
recro season where they were trailing under two minutes left.

(01:58:21):
That's not gonna happen. This season, and so are they
going to be that much better? Where they do? They
don't play close games? Like what is what? That's that's
my that's my issue, that's my concern with them.

Speaker 3 (01:58:35):
So I think they're gonna be better. Like if you
know who threw their cop is Washington.

Speaker 2 (01:58:41):
And Washington stunt last season? Right, but Washington went out
and and they tried. They had terrible signings and.

Speaker 4 (01:58:51):
Yeah, yeah players, they went forward with younger players last year.
I didn't like you like older players last year.

Speaker 2 (01:59:01):
Old, right, you're still throwing a d. But the ones
they don't got d overpaid for debo, you're still zach Ertz.
They got a couple of old guys on one. They
had no running game. I hate that. I hate what
they do with that roster. Yeah, no, I didn't love it.
So I like Chicago, I like, I like. I still

(01:59:22):
like what you're doing.

Speaker 3 (01:59:24):
Uh, Detroit, basically just the ads.

Speaker 2 (01:59:30):
They had scrugs in the trade. I don't know, you
like scrugs. It's fine. They are going to hit to
their offense a lot over the years. Now, Tricia, take it,
took it, I know, dude, that's that's it. Where do
you think about the uh, the Falcons. I mean, look,

(01:59:54):
you re signed most of your guys, right, I like,
I like you signed Pitts. What do you what do
you think about them? And then they got a little
tweaks o Jali, I just don't bring back to kas.
I don't know. I don't get to John Dotson, but I.

Speaker 4 (02:00:15):
Just don't like the the courtback situation for them. Maybe
maybe Michael Pennix can be in when they throw the
ball outside the numbers and then you bring two into
throw into the numbers.

Speaker 2 (02:00:30):
No, yeah, you're hey, you're not wrong. I can't do that.
You're not wrong, buddy. Ultimately, I think that the team
in the NFC that had the best the best week
was the Rams. Trent McDuffie, Right, you resigned Cameron Curl,

(02:00:55):
you get Jalen Watson. That's your secondary, that's your that's
that's much badage your only week this last year.

Speaker 4 (02:01:03):
The Rams essentially got an all Pro player at the
most important position that they need to fill for a
first round pick for the twenty ninth pick. I mean,
you probably could.

Speaker 2 (02:01:14):
Ask for a better a better way to make your
team better than what they did.

Speaker 4 (02:01:20):
It's a great trade for them. Chiefs too, Chiefs needs.
I think Chiefs needed to need to do it to
the working pay mcduffee found. I think I think it
works for both teams. I know your boys angry about it,
but like from my perspective, it's a win for both.

Speaker 2 (02:01:32):
Yeah, all right, that's good to do for us. Listen,
good luck today, yo, thank you. It's gonna be awesome, man,
it be fun. Jeff Jeff's daughter at softball seat he's coaching.
So everybody have a great week. We
