Speaker 5 (01:55):
We are two and a half weeks removed from Christmas,
so a little chilly, little floory's on the ground this morning.
But yet and still it is definitely football weather here
and up in northeast. Man, It's a beautiful Saturday and
a lot of a lot of great things going on,
a lot of good football games. I'm excited about the

(02:18):
college football playoff Ringers coming out on Sunday. Man, So
it's a it's a fun field weekend, man. So I'm blessed.

Speaker 6 (02:25):
Indeed, And well it's a it's a better seemingly weekend
for me plaqueire mi alma mater. Penn State has finally
made a coaching higher and it is the name Matt Campbell.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (02:41):
He's from Iowa State obviously, has has done a really
really good job of coaching and coaching effectively there.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
I mean, he's he's a.

Speaker 6 (02:52):
MAC West Division champ two times, he's a MAC Coach
of the Year, he's a three time Big twelve Coach
of the Year.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
He's a two time AP Big Twelve Coach of the Year.
So he uh, he has done some some great things.

Speaker 6 (03:07):
He some people, you know on this side of things, uh,
you know, the the eastern side of things, because he's
coached out of Iowa State for so long, may not
know that his coach his playing career started.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (03:22):
And in Pittsburgh, he's he's a he's a Pittsburgh guy,
so he's had an opportunity to do that. He's come
with some great uh you know, some great I guess
endorsements will say of being there, from Nick Sirianni to
you know, other guys that have been very very uh
successful and there's a connection to Nick Sirianni as well.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
So what's your take on it, plex like, what what's your.

Speaker 6 (03:49):
You know, your first initial go at Matt Campbell being
named the head coach of Penn State after what was
seemingly considered to being tagged as a tumultuous approach to
you getting it done.

Speaker 5 (04:02):
I mean when I first heard the hire, I mean
I was a little shocked. I mean, you know when
I first heard it, but you know the rent that
you know Craft went on the ad at Penn State,
I thought that they were hiring house and being with
that being said, Terry Smith was entering coach, and you know,
I thought that they would kind of build that program

(04:24):
with somebody in the house around him and keep you know,
a Penn State guy at the head coach. But Terry
Smith is still there. You know, Matt Campbell comes in.
I think it's a solid higher. You know, he has
a very respectful resume obviously, you know, going coaching at
the Power for School in the Big twelve. You know,

(04:44):
his best season he had back in twenty and twenty four.
He had eleven wins out of his ten year coaching
and I will state they only beat Iowa three times.
So with that being said, I want to you know,
I want to see how his coaching style translates to

(05:05):
a Power five conference and playing against better talent and
better programs in the Big Ten. So I think it's
going to be a few years before Penn States gets
their feet on the ground with the losing eleven recruits
on signing day now no longer going to Penn State

(05:25):
but following James Franklin to Blacksburg in Virginia Tech. So
I just want to see how he's going to fair
his first couple of years. I believe that some of
these recruits that were going to Penn State, they're going
to sit back, you know and evaluate how they're doing
or how they're looking moving forward.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
But I think it's the solid hire.

Speaker 5 (05:47):
He's seventy two and fifty five and the you know,
ten year coaching career at Iowa State. You know, is
he going to be able to get recruits in the
building to go to Habert Valley. You know, that's still
stump something that we're going to have have to see,
but uh, he has a solid resume. Uh he's I
think he's a pretty good coach, and we'll see how

(06:07):
Penn State fairs, you know, moving on because of you know,
right now they doesn't. They didn't get all the recruits
that they wanted to get, so I think it's gonna
take a little time to build a program back up.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Yeah, I tend to fall in in line.

Speaker 6 (06:21):
With with your your your school. I thought I look
at Campbell as a quality guy. God that's been really
approached a few times by by the league.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Uh uh, who's the the GM of the of the Eagles? Howie?
What how he Roseman? Yeah? Roseman?

Speaker 6 (06:42):
Yes, uh there, I mean, you know he was looking
at eyeing Campbell for for the job in Philly. There
were other teams that were eyeing him as well. It
seems as though he is a quality equality coach. I
don't know him that you know, personally. I will meet
him and get to know him and get a feel

(07:04):
for who he is. But from all accounts given from
people I know that do know him, he's been spoken
very highly of. To me, That's the first thing I
want to know is is he a good man? And
the things that I've heard about him since he became
emerged as the biggest prospect to be hired. You know,

(07:27):
you start to do your diligence because well, not only
am I a letterman, that is vested in what the success.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Of this team is.

Speaker 6 (07:36):
But uniquely enough, there's only maybe two of us that
played there that have sons that are on the roster.
So my level of you know, I don't have time
for mock outrage. I don't have time for all the
shenanigans that are connected to this. This really matters to

(07:58):
me for my son's sake, you know. So it's an interesting, interesting,
I guess position for me to be in because I'm
so close to the university, close to the things that
are going on. So I've stayed. I remained quiet about,
you know, the coaches situation play. But I did have
a rant yesterday and it did go viral, and I

(08:21):
guess I'll address it, and I'll address there. I guess
there's a lot of mixed feelings about what what I
said in terms of the setup of the conversation was
why was it taking so long to make a higher
than the the audio somebody secretly recorded Pat Kraft while

(08:41):
he was addressing the senior leadership guys that were leaving
about the coach's position that was leaked out.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
There's just there has.

Speaker 6 (08:50):
Been a lot of a lot of things that had
developed in the media surrounding this coaching higher and I
had just kind of gotten to my my end on
being quiet about it, and I was just going to
give some perspective on it. You mentioned coach Coach Smith,
coach Terry Smith, and everybody loves them, you know, the

(09:12):
players love them, the fans love them, people love them.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
And people tried to.

Speaker 6 (09:17):
Get upset with me with saying that, you know, the
sabotage of what's taking place and the reason why things
are going left is because you have a person that
is acting now. I know, after yesterday having a million conversations,
after people heard what I had to say about why
it took so long to get a coach and why

(09:38):
there was so much propaganda coming out about the situation
and how it was being handled, and was their negligence
in it, was their lack of a plan and all
these things that were creating this narrative that was was
basically an inaccurate narrative plex And it wasn't that that
the ad was handling it without a plan. It was

(10:00):
he was handling it with a stack deck. You know,
I said on the show, I felt like it was
the paternal family that was making it a point to
as as being Jay paternal on the school board, they
were making it difficult for this this coaching hire to

(10:20):
take place.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
People maybe didn't comprehend it or understand it.

Speaker 6 (10:23):
But you got to take two to three days to
pull the board together. The board has to vote on it.
There has to be like an understanding of what they're
doing moving forward and making the decision to move forward.
So I made the point that there was, you know,
sabotage taking place, there was undermining taking place.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
And I'm confident in saying it.

Speaker 6 (10:44):
I know it, and now today I know even more
plex like I know that I know that it's not
it's not the family. It's one person acting on his
own and that's that's Jay Paterno and and the things
that he's he's doing and trying to leverage as one
of the board members you know, at the school. It's

(11:05):
just it's unfortunate that he doesn't use who he is
and and the name that his father built, the legacy
that his father built. It's a shame that he doesn't
use it for the good of the university. Now in
his mind, he may think he is, but I do
not believe that that is the case. And there are

(11:27):
there are other instances of him, like you know, kind
of tampering and undermining upper level sub decision makers.

Speaker 5 (11:34):
So basically what your I'm what you're insinuating is that
Jay Paterno is not using his position to better the
football program at Penn State with this hire of Campbell.

Speaker 6 (11:51):
I'm not saying that the higher of Campbell. I'm saying
the higher to all together. And so now let me
tie let me tie back to coach Terry. Coach Terry
is a letterman. Coach Terry played at Penn State. Coach Terry, Yes, Pittsburgh,
he's one of us, right.

Speaker 5 (12:08):
Yes, And that's what I was getting to when Kraft
got on the microphone and he made, you know, all
of these statements of he's going to bring in a
Penn State, Penn State guy with you know, integrity and
character and a passion for the school and passion for
the program. And then when you make Terry Smith the

(12:28):
interim coach, and I think everybody kind of thought that
it was going to be a Penn State higher, whether
it was him or Matt Ruhle or former player. Just
like you mentioned that coach Smith was a letterman and
he goes outside of the university to make this higher.

Speaker 2 (12:51):
That's why I think a lot.

Speaker 5 (12:52):
Of people, you know, weren't shot with the words that
he had to make in reference to the next head
coach at Penn State.

Speaker 6 (13:02):
So let me give some perspective on it, because now
I gave you the backstory of why I came out
and started saying undermining and sabotaging.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
And different things like that.

Speaker 6 (13:12):
Jay Paterno does want to make Penn State great again
for all intensive purposes right in his mind, and his
approach is it's it needs to be him that cleans
it up, right, So so.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
How does that apply to.

Speaker 6 (13:31):
And I know we're up on a break and I
and I don't want to take this into the next
segment either. I just want to wrap it up. But
let me just lay it out this way for you, Plexico.
When when Terry Smith took over the team and did
the knockdown, bang up job that he did, he showed
that the players were with him, He showed that he

(13:53):
can't get wins and did so many positive things.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
The one, the one piece of it.

Speaker 6 (14:00):
That went wrong that I wish he could have it
back to do it over again, was he started going
on the field with the four h nine Joe the
Joe Pen. It connected him to a group of people
that fall in line with what Jay paterno Is is

(14:20):
pushing out there. I have no problem with with Jay
trying to do whatever it is legacy wise for his family,
no problem for his father. I have no problem with
you're doing it. I have a problem when it's at
the expense of others. And I feel like Jay manipulated
the situation by putting that on Terry Smith. You put

(14:42):
that weight on Terry Smith to carry this this uh
you know this, This this torch of hope to restore
coach paternal You can restore Coach paternal in so many
different ways. It does not have to play out this
way and continue to play out with with Penn State.
Penn State football, you have many, many outlets that you

(15:04):
can leverage to figure that out. And yet you chose
to leverage Coach Smith in the scenario. And now here's
the clarity of it. You made people are sitting there like, well,
what are you getting at? Here's what I'm getting at.
I If Terry Smith gets named the head coach of
the team, he becomes probably the highest paid employee in

(15:26):
the state of Pennsylvania, which makes him one of the
more influential, most powerful people in Pennsylvania.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
He will have a.

Speaker 6 (15:32):
Large influence over who's getting hired at strong positions. So
he was politicking to get James Franklin out of there
all along, And people may not be aware of that,
but him and another guy were politicking to get him
out all along, trying to sabotage Franklin all along.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
Creating this fifty to fifty split.

Speaker 6 (15:53):
With Franklin and the Paternal supporters all along. That was
why the whole James Franklin isn't Joe Paternal the whole
entire time of his tenure, there was a strong element
of the narrative, which it should have never been, because
there's no reason to compare.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
A coach to a coach that's gone.

Speaker 6 (16:13):
A former coach, you can, but not to the extent
of what they went to and for how long they
did with Coach Franklin. So now you fast forward to
where we're at now and you start politicking so strongly
for coach Smith to get the job. You know what
it was Ford? You know is Ford plex. This is
my This is to me my conclusion with all of

(16:33):
the pieces being in place. Jay paternal wanted a position
of leadership and it may have been athletic director. So
if he gets so, if Terry Smith gets the job
with the outward, the outward show a solidarity to the
four h nine, to Joe, to the Paternal family, this,
that and the other. He gets the job, then the

(16:55):
strong chances of leadership changes taking place is now set
in motion. So the sabotage, the shorting of the stock,
the positioning of being able to take over is now
in play. And it's now in session, and Jay Paterno
has a straight line into the AD's seat, and that
now they're coming for the head of the school and

(17:18):
they'll end up putting in the person that they want
at the head of the school, and you'll have a
trinity of the head football coach, the AD, and the
president of the school.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
Now, I might have shot that fast on y'all, y'all.

Speaker 6 (17:29):
Might not have got that, But look at it and
listen to it on Hey, listen to it on the
on the podcast, and you'll understand it. You got one
person acting on his own volition. He's been on the
board of trustees for all these years and he's been
trying to do all these different things that create division
and create you know, a separation between us as a
as a school community. And it was all coming to

(17:52):
a head where what his ultimate plan was, which was
to get back in a seat of power at the
school that was more powerful then where he's at and
direct connection to the football program. And that's what messed
it up for Coach Smith and my humble estimation, I believe,
and that is not I did not get that information

(18:13):
from anyone on at at Penn State.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
That's my conclusion based off of the information.

Speaker 6 (18:19):
You know, as you know, you go to your school,
you're around your school, people see you around, they talk
to you, You learn things that or did this and
that and the other. I could guarantee you if you
talk to anybody who's in the know, they would probably
agree with me that it was j Paterno that that
ended the opportunity for Terry Smith to become the head

(18:41):
coach my Mike keeps falling uh to become the head
coach of the next head coach of Penn State. And
for me, to me, that's sabotage, that's that that is
undermining and and it's sad because in a situation where
a man probably deserved the opportunity to do it. Someone
else else's actions and somebody else's plotting and planning actually

(19:04):
may have been the reason why he didn't get get
the job in the end. But I'm glad he's staying
on board because he is a tremendous asset to our
community and to our team. And you know, it would
be interesting to see how many guys Campbell retains and
works with just based off of recruiting, based off of
the amount of lettermen that were you know, are on

(19:27):
the staff now. It'll be interesting to see how it
all plays out. But I will say this, from the
personality that I've heard, you know, Campbell has and the
type of character he has, it seems as though everybody
that wants to stay will have a fair opportunity to
possibly and potentially stay in the mix with with Penn
State football. So we'll see how it plays out, you know,

(19:49):
We'll see how it plays out. But I had to
get that off my chest because I got a lot
of missing messages yesterday. I even got a message from
a paterno telling me that I was dumb. Basically, I
thought you were smarter than what you were you opened
your mouth, You're dumb. I think I'm pretty smart, and
I think I'm pretty knowledgeable on the situation as well.
That's why I feel confident shooting it out there to

(20:10):
the hundreds of thousands of people that are listening to
our show. So I feel good about it, and I
feel like it needed to be said because there are
so many false narratives. It wasn't Sexton that that was
sabotaging it. The king of college football. Sexton has a
good relationship with the program and a good relationship with
the ad.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
It's not the agent. It wasn't. There was a lack
of a plan. This was how it played out.

Speaker 6 (20:37):
This was how it played out, trying to go through
the process, and you know what, it turned into something
totally different based off of undermining propaganda and politicking, And
to me, that sucks. There's no real place for it.
I know it exists, but when you're someone of that
name and that legacy connected to an institution, you have

(20:58):
a larger responsibility not only to the community, but to
your family name, to yourself to handle things better than
what you did. So hopefully, moving forward, he'll do better.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
Hopefully.

Speaker 6 (21:08):
Here's this segment and knows that. You know, people aren't
going to just sit around and let you do what
you want to do and say what you want to
say and act how you want to act just because
of your last name. It doesn't work out that way,
you know. It's just how life works. Yeah, well there
you go. Hey, this is up on Game that's Plexico Berts.
I'm LeVar Arrington. TJ is out today. Coming up next,

(21:29):
we're going to talk a little football, continue the football discussions.
There are some interesting things going on in Dallas when
we'll talk about it. All right, this up on Game
Fox Sports Radio will be right back. Listen up y'all.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
Game day rule. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (21:47):
When you add the handcrafted tang of the original Louisiana
hot sauce to your food, it doesn't matter what day
it is, guys, it becomes a little more like game day. Yeah,
you know why because of the poor of that handcrafted
recipe onto whatever it.

Speaker 2 (22:06):
Is you're gonna eat. It could be pizza.

Speaker 6 (22:08):
You feel like leaping up out of your recliner after
you take a bite out of that sweet, amazing tangy
taste and giving a clap in a high five. Right,
you might drop it on your wings I like doing
mine with blue cheese. I don't know about you, but
I love me some blue cheese with my hot sauce
and my wings. Your team, you know what you're looking

(22:32):
at them, You're enjoying your food. They get that toe
tap swag. It gives you that same feeling while you're
eating your food, and you can only get that feeling
through the Louisiana the original Louisiana Hot Sauce experience being
on your plate.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
So listen. You want to get it right.

Speaker 6 (22:49):
You want to win the championship of eating tailgate food,
and it feels like a tailgate even if it isn't
game day. Get you some original Louisiana Hot Sauce. It's
kind of like your favorite jersey is your favorite day
you wait for all week. The original Louisiana Hot Sauce.
Add it, buy it, do it, use it. That's Louisiana Hot,
all right, make sure you buy YouTube.

was a lot of great memories connected to I Got

Speaker 6 (24:29):
Away, let us know who's takes you like and even
it takes you didn't like. All right, Just search Fox
Sports Radio on YouTube and subscribe. I mentioned the Cowboys, Uh,
plex You know, they've been competitive. They have had some
really really high play from from Dak Prescott. Unfortunately, sadly,

(24:52):
uh you know, obviously CD Lamb gets the concussion, hits
it hits its head in the end zone in the game,
he leaves the game. It's George Pickens' time. I said
I believe on our show the last time we talked,
I believe George Pickens is playing better football than Ceedee Lamb.
And George Pickens had the opportunity to take the driver's

(25:14):
seat and definitively put the bid. Any debates about what
he represented to this team. It appears that he failed
miserably Plexico, and that you know, it just didn't look good.
He could have did more, The offense could have did more,
the defense could have did more. And obviously whoever came

(25:35):
out of that game, they raised their odds of going
to the playoffs exponentially, and the team that lost their
odds are going to the playoffs went down the same
way exponentially, like from like thirty forty percent down to
like eighteen percent chance.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
Or something to that effect. Yeah, maybe even less than that.

Speaker 6 (25:56):
Right, where do the where do the Dallas Cowboys from here? Man,
what what happens with them seemingly you know, crashing out
with what it is that you know took place in
this last game.

Speaker 5 (26:11):
I mean, I just think there's a lot of things
that you can take away, you know, from the game
on Thursday. Both teams needed to win that game to
you know, basically stay in the playoff hunt, you know,
moving on for the rest of the season. And unfortunately
for the Cowboys, I don't think that they are going
to make the playoffs, you know, after that lost to Detroit.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
The other day.

Speaker 5 (26:32):
Uh, but I will say this, I mean, Dallas Cowboys
got off to well three and five one start, and
me and TJ with just happened this conversation last week
all the Dallas Cowboys for real, And I said last
week that you know that the Cowboys go every season,
they win two or three games in a row and

(26:53):
then they lose that those one or two games that
they're supposed to win that knocks them out of the playoff.
And that is exactly you know what happened out the
day and you look at this team moving forward, they
don't make the playoffs. Is you know, going into the
next season, what does Jared Jones do with with Shottenham,
well he return as the head coach.

Speaker 2 (27:15):
I mean everybody.

Speaker 5 (27:16):
I think everybody saw, you know, what happened with George
Pickens with Ceedee Lamb going out and you just like
you said, you thought that George Pickens was playing better,
better brand of football, and then Ceedee Lambs, I disagree.
You know, I kind of think, you know, it's a
ball and chain with the success that those guys are happening.
It's like one hand washes the other and you just

(27:39):
look at, you know, how they've been performing, and uh,
George Pickens is leading the league and receiving yards on
slant routes. So if your defense, and if you're Dan
Campbell defensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions, what are you
going to try to do? You're gonna take away to stop,
You're gonna try to take away the slant route. But

(28:00):
you know, from a you know, George Pickens, just because
you know they're playing you inside technicue or they're doubling you,
or whatever the case may be, you still got to
go out there and fight. And I think that's you know,
some of the things that you know people are saying
about him, that that's what kind of got him, you know,
out of Pittsburgh. You know, he's kind of a he's

(28:21):
he's a long strider, uh. You know, they kind of
feel like he's going about his craft, you know, being lethargic, lazy.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (28:29):
You know, those are some of the words that people
are saying. And you can say that with some of
the routes that we saw him run the other day.
And you know, what's going to be his future with
the Dallas Cowboys moving forward. But you know, I just
think for them as a whole, for them not to
make the playoffs with this current roster that they have
and adding and adding you know, George Pickens, you know,

(28:53):
he's been a boost to this offense. And with CD
Lamb and the running game that they're having, and Dak
Pratscott is having an MVP you know type year, building
up the defense, bringing in Quinny and Kenny Clark and
all of these guys, and I think they've been playing
pretty well until last week. They give up forty three
points defensively, which I will say Jamier Gibbs is probably

(29:18):
the one of the most big bolts of running backs
I've seen in the last two decades. Every time he
gets his hands on the ball, he has a chance
to howl it, and that is crazy. But getting back
to the Dallas Cowboys, they give up forty three points
and it's a failure. I really believe for them to
not make the playoffs. It doesn't matter who the head

(29:39):
coach is. You can't make the excuse, Oh, it's Shoddy's
first year being a head coach, and then that's a
football league. But he's been an assistant for the last
twenty With this current roster that they have, for the
Dallas Cowboys not to make the playoffs this season is
a failure.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
Wow. Well, uh here's here's what I'll say.

Speaker 6 (30:03):
Uh, man, it's it's it's one of those things where
it's it's a first year head coach and and he
he I believe he's had the offense playing out of
higher much higher level than what it was playing at
at last season. And you would have thought that with

(30:25):
the additions to the interior front. You know, everybody was, oh,
the defense is way better. Oh it's better without Michael Parsons.
Da da da da da da. And and there's been
such a push to kind of force feed the fact
that the Dallas Cowboys are good post Michael Parsons, uh

(30:45):
his tenure. And then you add in the Pickings deal,
and you now have two guys that have one receiver capabilities,
which I don't even know that's the thing anymore, the
whole one receiver deal.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
But but it's.

Speaker 6 (30:57):
Interesting enough about the conversation with George Dickens before I
give another opinion about it, the owner of the team.
He had an opinion about it, and well, he was
on one oh five point three the fan and this
is what he had to say.

Speaker 3 (31:11):
He didn't have the game, that he's been heavy, but effort.
I would be very careful with him going there. This
guy is a is a He's explosive with his temperament.
And I say that in a positive way. So I

(31:32):
don't think so much it was effort, but I might not.
But I don't necessarily have a good explanation as to
why he didn't show up more. But no, I'm not
at all concerned going forward about Pickens. I would agree
with you. I thought we would have more with him

(31:54):
than we did.

Speaker 6 (31:58):
I just I think that's his comments to me, Ye
it is it's a little like he should have showed
up more. I think I think if he wanted to
be totally real about it. He should have showed up
more because.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
That was real about it. That was real about it.

Speaker 5 (32:11):
When Dak was asked, you know about the picking his performance, uh,
Dak Prescott stated that, you know, with us having CD out,
I needed him to step up and make some more plays.
And that is from your starting quarterback. So what Jerry
Jones just said, he was, you know, not throwing them

(32:35):
completely under the bus. But he did acknowledge, just like
we and everybody that was watching the game, that there
were some plays where he didn't give effort and those
That's one of the things about sports. And I've always
told my kids, I said, man, listen, I don't give

(32:55):
a damn how many points you score, how many touchdown,
how many yards you get. There's one thing that people
should never question you when you step on a basketball court,
a volleyball court, a track, a football field, they should
never have to question your effort. And now that is

(33:17):
everybody's all. That is why Pittsburgh got rid of them
because of what we witnessed on Thursday. So Dak recognized it.
He wanted him to step up and make more plays.
Jared Jones has a mixed bag of comments. But I
believe that he will bounce back from it. He will
come out this weekend, play harder, make make some more plays,

(33:41):
and all of these things will be put the rest.
But you cannot say that he was out there give
a maximum effort based off of what we saw.

Speaker 6 (33:54):
All right, Well, we'll see how it all plays out.
Sounds like Jerry Jones still has faith and his team.
I mean, let's see how Let's see how that works out.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
Is a tang.

Speaker 6 (34:05):
Well, we'll see how it plays out. But let's get
an update from well, you know what, Illo. Before I
give you an update, Let's let's just talk about a
little bit of Louisiana hot sauce because it'll make your
update a little bit more spice here, you know what
I mean.

Speaker 2 (34:19):
It's that vinegar and.

Speaker 6 (34:20):
Salt, simple peppers, wings, nachos, burgers. It works on everything, man,
Every Tailgate food is bold. It's hand crafted flavor. It's
original Louisiana hot sauce. That's the Louisiana hot balue. Some Ilo,
Now I gave you some spice for your your trending.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
What we got going.

Speaker 8 (34:38):
On, it's interesting, LeVar implex. We go from talking about
Jerry Jones to a game being played at Jerry World,
the Big Twelve Championship game at and T Stadium in Arlington,
and a statement just made by number eleven BYU. They've
got a seven to nothing lead over fourth rank Texas
Tech with three and a half left in the first
quarter on a ten yard touchdo on run by BYU's

(35:01):
L J.

Speaker 2 (35:02):
Martin.

Speaker 8 (35:02):
Texas Tech had been the only team in the nation
that had not allowed points on its opponent's opening drive
all season long until moments ago by BYU in the
Big Twelve Championship game. Cop I got next at four
pm Eastern the SEC Championship game from Atlanta between number
three Georgia and ninth ranked Alabama. Then at eight pm

(35:27):
Eastern time, it'll be the Big Ten Championship game between
number one and Ohio State and second ranked Indiana. Of course,
just keeping the seats warm for Penn State to be
in the Big Ten Championship game next year, right LeVar, Yeah, right,
all right, Now to something that Plaxaville will have strong

(35:49):
interest in. A couple of big college basketball games going
on right now and right now. Seventh ranked I know basketball.
I'm sorry, nothing nothing.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
I was just thinking out loud.

Speaker 8 (35:59):
Can you corroborate the plexico? It's just it's just because
his seventh ranked Michigan State Spartans are up twenty six
twenty three over number four Duke four and a half
left to play in the first half, and number one
per Due trailing at home right now to tenth ranked
Iowa State thirty to twenty nine with three but it's

(36:20):
in twenty four seconds left to play in the first half.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
There.

Speaker 8 (36:23):
In the NBA Friday Night, the defending NBA champion Oklahoma
City Thunder improved to twenty two and one. They beat
the Dallas Mavericks one thirty two to one eleven. The
Thunder now out of fourteen game winning streak. Guys, all
yours appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (36:39):
I LO, we're gonna come back.

Speaker 6 (36:40):
We're gonna talk a little Washington Commanders going into the
hour two. We'll have Cuffs coming up an hour two.

Speaker 2 (36:46):

Speaker 6 (38:23):
I hope you guys are enjoying that and getting ready
for it in a great way.

Speaker 2 (38:27):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (38:28):
I mentioned we got cuffs the Legend coming on in
an hour two. We'll talk some basketball. Lebron James was
super excited about his street coming to it, and then
we'll we'll talk.

Speaker 2 (38:36):
About that, but first let's talk about talk. We're gonna
do it. Let's talk about the Washington Commanders plex.

Speaker 3 (38:44):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (38:44):
Jaydon Daniels looks as though he's he's getting healthy enough
to return for the game against the Vikings. Is it
too little too late for it for your commanders to
be able to climb back that way this playoff race?

Speaker 2 (38:58):
Don't do that.

Speaker 5 (39:00):
Don't do that, your commander, what you're talking about? Listen
and wrap it up, dan Quinn. I mean, let's be honest.
You're you're three and nine football team. Jaydeon Daniels has
basically been the only bright spot, uh you know, on
the on this team for the last couple of years,

(39:22):
except for my guy Bobby Wagner. This season that he's
having has been absolutely spectacular. One of my favorite players.
But you know, you you're three and nine in the
in the NFCS, But you gotta respect it if you're
Jaydon Daniels. Uh, you know, just like Joe Burrow said
a couple of weeks ago, he like, hey, man, I'm

(39:43):
a football player. If I'm healthy, I'm going to get
out there and fight with my guys. So I have
a lot of respect for it. And he's gonna he's
gonna go out there and play with this team.

Speaker 2 (39:53):
So you think if he yeah, I mean, what are
you games?

Speaker 6 (39:59):
There's five games left? They are I mean they not.
They would not only have to win out, but they
would need a whole lot of help going to the playoffs. Yeah,
just to even have a chance to make it as
a wild card. It would be a long shot. They
would need help at this point. I guess I would
ask you, and knowing that you know they have three

(40:21):
two three, I mean the rest of their games after
the vikings are all divisional games. They're all divisional games. Like,
is it is it worth it to take the risk?
He's been hurt pretty much all season, and and he
got hurt last season. Like he's he's a slighter frame guy,
He's been getting getting banged up. You don't feel like
you should just shut him down. Let Mario to just

(40:43):
just carry out the rest of it the rest of
the way.

Speaker 5 (40:45):
I mean, listen, if I'm dan Quinn in this in
this Washington organization, I'm shutting the Jaydon James down for
the rest of the season because throughout this season we've
seen that this football team cannot compete in the NFC off.
Jayden Danes is not under center, and he's healthy, so

(41:06):
focus on him to you know, getting healthy and coming
back next year and trying to win the NFC East.
But we just know right now that this football team,
they're not very good without them. And I would if
I was dan Quinn, I wouldn't play Jayden Dames anymore
for the rest of the season because, I mean, he's

(41:27):
just basically going out and getting more stats. I mean,
there's no reason for him to go out and play.
Even if they go undefeated for the rest of the season,
they'll they'll.

Speaker 2 (41:37):
End up at eight and nine.

Speaker 5 (41:38):
They're still gonna they're gonna remain under five hundred regardless
of whatever happens. And just like you said, the rest
of their games are all divisional opponents. Which they may be.
They may they may win one if they're playing the Giants.
So with that being said, I wouldn't play him if
I'm dan Quinn and this Harris group and this organization

(41:59):
just sit him on the side line and focus on
next season.

Speaker 2 (42:02):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 6 (42:05):
But that does basically, I mean you gave up on
the season, right, Like, how how does that? And that's
not tanking because you're not going to get.

Speaker 2 (42:14):
No, no, it's not. It's not tanking.

Speaker 5 (42:15):
But you're put a franchise player in a bad situation
to get get hurt.

Speaker 6 (42:20):
More, are you putting them in a bad situation with
the fan base or with his teammates If you're shut
him down for the year knowing that he can play,
like like for.

Speaker 5 (42:28):
Instance, if he's not available, then you have you don't
have a football team, correct, So the number one thing
should be his health, not about what the fans think.

Speaker 2 (42:39):
M hmm.

Speaker 6 (42:40):
Okay, well, I guess we're gonna I guess we're gonna
find out what the Jaydon Daniels impact is with a
team that will probably will miss the playoffs. He's going
to play against the Vikings. So that's plexico Burrs. I'm
LeVar Arrington Man, this is up on Game. It's Fox
Sports Radio and yeah, Hour two is coming at you
right away.

Speaker 2 (42:59):
Stay tuned.
