Speaker 3 (01:40):
Is it still brick? I'm back in La, back from
San fran covered all week with Fox and two pros
and a cup of Joe. But back home it is
a beautiful morning here. How's it going where you at? Bro?

Speaker 4 (01:56):
Yeah, it's beautiful. I mean, the sun is shining. But man,
let me tell you some I just came from outside, man,
and it is. It's that Michigan weather today, single digits.
The wind is blowing thirty forty miles an hour. I
mean the wind like my windows was whistling this morning
when I was sleeping, so I already had a general

(02:17):
idea of how bad the wind was blowing. But man,
it's about a ball me nine or ten degrees and
suns out. But it doesn't matter.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Man.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
It's what we call up here in the Upper Northeast.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
It's mad bricks on, mad brick mad all right. The
bricks is hitting tomorrow. Man, it's Super Bowl Eve. The
big game is tomorrow. A ton of storylines have been
playing out, I mean, from bad Bunny to Tom Brady
saying he don't have a dog in a fight. We'll
touch on those things, but let's start with the game itself.

(02:52):
I mean, know, the going into it, it seems as
though everyone is pretty healthy. It just it looks as
though it's going to be a fear of fear fade
so to speak. No, no, uh no, real real advantage
to one side or the other in terms of someone

(03:13):
not being available to the team. And you know, I
asked you, you know, I put that the question in
front of you for for show prep that you know,
who do you see being the biggest factor in this
game outside of the quarterback position? So, going into it,
is it? Is it the defensive front? Is it? Is

(03:35):
it a receiver? Is it? You know what? How are
you seeing this in terms of the matchup of who
will have the biggest impact outside of the quarterback position.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
I mean, just looking at both teams, I think defensively,
I think they're they're you know, they're even for the
most part statistically, But uh, I think if you look
at both defenses. They both will coach Uh. Seattle was
having a historic season defensively, only giving up, you know,
fifteen to sixteen points a game, which is historic for them.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
But I think the.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
Factor that's going to change this football game is the
Seattle defensive front. I really think so. I think with
Leonard Williams and DeMarcus Launlins, the way those guys are
able to get out the quarterback and they do it
without blitzing. And that was one of the things that
we were able to do back in those seven against
tom Brady was like we was able to get off

(04:31):
front for oc JL for tuck and straight hand to
tom Brady without blitzing. You if you can rush three
or four and get to the quarterback and drop seven
eight and coverage, it's an automatic advantage to the offense,
I mean to the defense. And I think that's what
Seattle is going to do tomorrow, is going They're going

(04:52):
to disrupt the passing game for Drake May and force
him to throw into some tight windows. He's going to
have to be accurate if they're going to If if
Seattle is going to drop seven to eight and coverage,
and he's going to have to read defenses. He's going
to have to decipher what's going on in the back end,
and if you can get to the quarterback rushing forth,

(05:15):
you don't have that, you don't have a lot of
time to make those decisions. So I think that's going
to be determining factor for me defensively. You know, for
this game tomorrow is just Seattle being able to get
after a young Drake made people forget this and he's
still only in this second season, so he hasn't seen
a lot of you know, uh, coverages and and things
moving around to the back end. And it's going to

(05:36):
be so fast. It's one of the most physical football
games you're going to be a part of. It's the
fastest football game I've ever played in from you know, uh,
you know, scheme and what everybody is doing on.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Both sides of the football.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
So he's going to have to make us on some decisions.
And and plus me and playing on this stage and
and having all of those eyes on you, the pressure
of being able to go out and perform at the
Super Bowl, it's a real thing. And hopefully a young

(06:11):
player like Drake Make doesn't get caught up in the
whole hype of the element around him. He's being able
to go out and you know, make some players. But
I think if I was a batting man, I'm going
to go with the run game and Kenneth Walker the third.
I'm going to go with the offensive MVP and Jackson

(06:33):
Smith and Jigbu seventeen hundred yards receiving this year Offensive
Player of the Year. And I'm gonna take the defensive
front for the Seattle Seahawks and say that they do
win this football game because it's going to be a
low scoring, defensive football game.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
It's interesting because I agree with what you're saying. Obviously,
this could potentially be the best defensive front that the
franchise has ever had and has ever seen. Is one
of the tops coming into it. Now, they'll have to
do it for more than one year to be considered
one of the greatest ever. But off of a single

(07:09):
season bringing this assortment of talent together on that defense
side of the ball, I definitely agree with you on
you know, the defense front. And it's kind of like
pick one, you know, pick one of them if we're
going to say one. But I'll counter that by saying,
Will Campbell, you know, Jared Wilson, Garrett, Bradberry, Mike and
then and then Owen Knew and and uh and Morgan Moses, Like,

(07:35):
I think the offensive front for the New England Patriots
is going to there's going to have to be an
unsung hero on that team and and and on that front.
And it's because of how effective this Seattle defensive front is.
And now I look at this game plex. The one

(07:56):
thing that I think could actually turn the into a
dogfight and turn this into a really really fun matchup
to watch is if Travion Henderson and Drake May's legs
are actually able to have success early on in the game.
If if that defensive front doesn't make him make him

(08:19):
see ghosts like they did with with which the Bradford
you know or Donald that's on the other side when
he played for the for the Jets, if they don't
make Donald, you know, Donald as ce ghost situation for
Drake May, and he's able to get established if Travion,

(08:39):
because Travion has big play. It's it's always nice when
you get to a super Bowl when people discover somebody
that was always there. If you've watched him in college,
you knew that this kid would special his speed is crazy.
He's a coast to coast type of talent. So if
you don't know who Travion Henderson is, tomorrow could be

(09:00):
the possibility of what could be considered a breakout party
for him to become a household name. But he's fast,
he's quick, he's explosive, and I feel like if he
is able to have success early on in this game,
then now that opens up things for like mac mac
hollins and all those guys and Hooper. It opens up

(09:23):
the passing game, and it takes and alleviates some of
the stress that that possibly could be there for Drake
may in the passing game. Because ultimately, I think both
both teams are looking at this as make make this
quarterback win the game with their arm. If I'm the

(09:43):
head coach, if I'm the decordinator, I can make my
bones and I can really really add a really really
nice piece to my resume by limiting their offense to
throwing the ball. The more they throw the ball, the
more chances there are for one of these guys to
make a mistake. We've seen Darnold do it in the past,

(10:04):
and Drake Mays a baby so and that could work
to his advantage, but that could work against him as well,
depending on schematically how they're they're playing coverage and if
they're able to stop to run to have more creativity
within the cover schemes that are taking place. So I'm
gonna go with I'm gonna go with first the Patriots

(10:24):
offensive front, And it's obviously I could say it's gonna
fall on a tackle, but it could fall on a guard,
and it could ultimately fall on the center too, because
they're so strong interiorly, but they're also very elite with
their pass rush on the edge. So they're gonna have
to be solid along the entire front in order for

(10:45):
it to be a real matchup in this game tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
I mean, listen, it can go both ways. I mean,
it can get to the point to where if Seattle
is really getting after the quarterback, now you have to
keep a guy like Trevion Henderson in the backfield. Now
he has to chip in a formation, So now you
lose the option of a back being out, you know,
as a receiver. So so so then you have eight

(11:12):
eight eight dropping seven or eight dropping and you only
have three or four wide receivers. But on the flip side,
of that. We were just having this conversation a couple
of weeks ago saying that Drake May is like sneaky
good man if you want to get pried and play
man and man if he get outside the pocket. I
mean he surprised me a few times with some of
the runs that he's made this season. I mean, you

(11:34):
cannot just turn a blind eye to Drake Drake May
and say he's not going to make plays with his legs,
because he can. And if they can get the run
game going with Trevion Henderson, like you said, and Drake
May is able to break out of the pocket, you
know for a couple of big scrambles, then Seattle's going
to have to make a change. And we know that

(11:55):
especially in the big game. Man, it's all about adjustments.
And uh, you know, because at the end of the day,
Seattle is still very young in the back end. They've
only had their whole start and the defensive secondary for
about for like five or six games, so they still
kind of, you know, uh young in the back and

(12:15):
if you know, Drake May can come come out and
make some plays and he's throwing and he's running, what
adjustment will Seattle make to slow them down.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
All right, that's that's Plexico Burst. I'm LeVar Arrington, TJ
is in uh San Francisco for the Big Game, so
he will be there today. We're going to carry you
two hours. We got a lot to get to. And
while it is a Super Bowl, uh, it is a
Super Bowl weekend. There was some interesting news that that

(12:46):
surface from the college ranks and it touches Plexico Bursts
in a way that well touches home. Uh. We'll get
to that. We'll we'll touch on that something with Michigan's
spartan football and former coach, and you know, a whole
lot of stuff, A whole lot of smoke took place,

(13:07):
but then all of a sudden, the flame was blown out.
All right, this is up on game this Fox Sports Radio.
Plexico Burs, LeVar Arrington, right, will be right back. Hey, listen, everybody,
The Big Game is in Santa Clara this year. But
with the original Louisiana Hot Sauce, you can make the
Big Game Louisiana hot, no matter where you'll be watching

(13:29):
from the original Louisiana Hot Sauce will be ready with
Pepper's vinegar and salt. Three simple ingredients, but big, big results.
Together they go so well and after each saucy score, well,
you'll want to go for two. You won't want to
go for one. You're gonna feel good, real saucy right,
the Louisiana Hot instead of touchdown dances. Nah, with that

(13:51):
handcrafted flavor, you'll be busting out the Bourbon street boogies
in the end zone instead of the first quarter. You
know where I'm with this. You'll feel like partying in
the French quarter. Ah, you saw what I did there.
Instead of watching the halftime show, You'll experience a whole
mouth extravaganza. That's the Louisiana Hot, and with almost one

(14:13):
hundred years of legacy of perfectly balanced heat and flavor,
it'll turn your po boy into a whoa boy. And
that's taste, super taste, and it tastes super good on
your wings on West Coast, pizza on the East Coast,
and well on any food anywhere. You'll watch the game
and make it a little more Louisiana and a lot

(14:37):
more delicious with the original Louisiana Hot sauce. Why, I'll
say it again, that's Louisiana Hot.

of your screen. Plexico burs Tom Brady said during the
week they actually was he going for anybody any interest
in the game. He said, basically, I have no dog
in the fight now for whatever that meant, whatever reason

(17:06):
he said it for. You know a lot of people
have their opinions about it. Obviously, the quick easy opinion
is obviously he's the owner. He's a part owner of
the Las Vegas Raiders now and so maybe he was
separating himself because of that. Maybe because of him working
as an analyst on Sunday games is the reason why

(17:30):
he separated himself from it. Some of his teammates came
out of Santi samuel Vin's will Fork came out and
had some some poignant things to say towards him and
saying that, but let's be clear here, I'm curious. He
comes out. He kind of backpedals a little bit. Which

(17:53):
he's a quarterback. They know how to you know, step
back what they call stepping into the bucket or whatever.
He knows how to get from under center. He knows
how to get back and to lou Pass Rushes. He
backtracked a little bit and was like, I got your back,
Robert Kraft, I got your back in the game. What
is this overblown? I mean, is this an overblown situation?

(18:13):
And would you ever find yourself saying if you were
in Tom Brady's situation of ownership of calling games, of
saying that if the Giants made it to the Super Bowl,
that you have no dog in that fight. Well, I'm not.

Speaker 4 (18:28):
Gonna say that. I mean, if my Giants make it
to the Super Bowl, I'm gonna be at the game.
I'm gonna be celebrating. I'm I'm gonna be that biggest fan.
That's just being me. But I think Tom Brady making
that statement is basically a business move for him because
he doesn't want to seem biased because he's in an
ownership role obviously with the Las Vegas Raiders. So I

(18:52):
think he kind of took the ladder with that statement.
But if he wasn't in the ownership space, I don't
believe that he would make that statement.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
He would be.

Speaker 4 (19:01):
First in line to be on the sidelines cheering on
his Patriots as he would, So I don't believe it
for one for one minute. I think it's a bunch
of bologna. How could he not be a fan or
root for his former team? And I just think it's

(19:22):
just all business related for him, because if one of
my teams make it to the Super Bowl, I'm going
to be a fan and I'm going to enjoy it
and I'm going to be rooting for them to win
the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
Yeah, I tend to agree with you. I think it
is overblown. I think that it does make sense for
I would say the only people that could have issue
with it that it's legit are its teammates, and you
could sit there and say, oh, well, they're hating on him.
They're no, they're not hating on him. For all of

(19:54):
those who will sit there and say, all the Super
Bowls that Tom Brady brought brought to you guys as players,
you should be happy about that and leave Tom Brady alone. No,
last I checked it, Football is the ultimate team sport,
and you have multiple Hall of Famers that came from

(20:15):
those teams, and even the ones that won't make the
Hall of Fame, there's some really, really fine quality football
players that played on those those Tom Brady teams that
won Super Bowls. So to have an issue with it
because that it's almost like you're saying you don't have
a dog in a fight. Is separating yourself from us.
You're separating yourself from me. I could never sit there

(20:37):
and be like, just because I maybe I took an
ad job at a college that is in Penn State,
but Penn State made it to the National championship. I
would not find myself sitting there saying I don't have
a dog in that fight, you know what I mean?
Not at all like I was with you, right. Oh,

(21:01):
I'm always have a dog in the fight with the
dudes that I went to war with, and but I
do dude, I will say, I think it is a
little bit overstated to attack him in such a way
where it's almost like what certain things just don't need
to be explained. And I think we know what Tom
Brady means to the New England Patriots plex. So anyway,

(21:23):
that's interesting. But what's even more interesting than that is
we got some really really great topics and conversations coming
up in hour two, So make sure you stayed locked
in and doubt and should have cuffs on the line.
I believe will have cuffs on the line. Who knows
the super Bowl weekend, but stay tuned you'll find out,
all right, Yes, Plexico Burrs, I'm LeVar Arrington. This is

(21:45):
up on Game This Fox Sports Radio Hour two coming
