do it on and off the field and not live
from the Fox Sports Radio studios. Here's Pro Bowlers LaVar Aring, Ted, TJ. Hushman,
Sanna and Super Bowl Chippy and Plexico Burrets.
Speaker 5 (00:46):
All right, mouth Garrett to the Rams and now Aaron Donald.
Here's the music. Yeah, Saturday morning up on game on
Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington with t J.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Hutchmanzana and Flexic Birth. They're in the house our one.
Speaker 5 (01:02):
We're gonna go all football. I know y'all want to
hear basketball. If we're gonna say that, we're gonna save it.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
The Rams went all in.
Speaker 5 (01:09):
They got Miles Garrett and now the ghost is stirring
around Aaron Donald flirting with a comeback. Then, well, we
got a number beef in Cleveland. It'd be interesting to
hear about that. What the fellas think about that Baker Mayfield,
he's drawing the line in Tampa Watson, Well he cashes
(01:29):
and not the Watson you may be thinking of a Yuk.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
He crashes. And that's the auk, y'all thinking.
Speaker 5 (01:35):
Of all NBA finals, all Nicks. And we'll talk that
to and O. Game three is coming up at the
Garden on Monday, and the Insider himself cuffs the legend.
He'll join us and we'll go over all those things. Fellas.
How are y'all doing? What's going on? You finally got
the whole crew back together again? How's it feel?
Speaker 4 (01:57):
Man?
Speaker 2 (01:57):
How y'all doing?
Speaker 4 (01:58):
How's your Saturday making? I'm good out here?
Speaker 3 (02:01):
Lott overcast, but it's been sun gonna come on a
couple hours, but.
Speaker 6 (02:06):
You know it's gonna be that high today, TJ. But
it's hot outside. It's weird, man, it's hot outside. Just
you know, lot overcast, but some in coming out every
day now about twelve o'clock.
Speaker 7 (02:19):
I don't know what's going on, but hey, good to
be here. Okay, you gotta be kidding me. You guys
can't be serious, man, You guys cannot be that booze.
You're talking about it's hot outside, but the sun ain't out.
I mean, I know, you guys in California and everything,
y'all pay for the pay for the weather, but hey,
I can I can tell how the day is in California.
(02:42):
Every time that TJ it's on the like and start
to show, I just know how the weather is based
on based on his voice, how he sounds, and his rhetoric.
So I already know that the sun is not shining
right now in California based off of TJ.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Well, what's going on where you at? It's a good
wear you at everything?
Speaker 7 (03:01):
Oh man, it's great Manea, you know how I go
on beast coach man. We have heat waves during the summertime,
you know what I mean. So they the grass is green,
the sun is out, it's expected to get just get
high and hot. And we got to about ninety ninety
one yesterday. It's currently about eighty five at noon, so
it'll probably get up in it. It'll probably get up
in the nineties. And after this all you're watching my
(03:22):
daughter plays basketball.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
So man, it's a.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
Great day and we're gonna talk some basketball, all right, fellas.
Here's the story the Rams they acquired the Defensive Player
of the Year, Miles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns June first.
We were all expecting certain people to go. We'll get
to those people as well, But for a twenty twenty
seven first, a twenty twenty eight second.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
And Ed Jarrett Verse, which he's a beast.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
McVeigh kept talks confidential to protect Verse until he could
tell tell him personally. And Garrett broke the single season
sack record last year with a team that was not
very good. It was a five wins Browns team. Aaron Donald,
he retired in twenty twenty four. That's two years, fellas.
(04:13):
And that was right after they won the Super Bowl
in Yeah, La, all right, he's a ten time Pro Bowler,
three time Defensive Player of the Year. She's hinted at
a comeback. He told McAfee, well, it's for sure something
that's got him thinking. That's not the quote, but that's
what he said, Fellas. Obviously there has been conversations. We
(04:38):
know that the Super Bowl is coming back to California,
to LA, to Sofi Stadium and listen.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Aaron Donald, Jared Verse, I mean Jared Versus leaving. But
you have Aaron Donald potentially McDuffie, mister Garrett and Fisk.
Speaker 5 (05:03):
That uh, that's not a defensive line, fellas, That's that
is what I would call a war crime. I don't
know what's gonna happen if you put all them bodies
in front of an offensive line, other than something's gonna
go bad for the offense on that side of the ball.
How you guys see this? The Rams, they went all
in with Miles Garrett. I don't know what we call
(05:24):
it what Cleveland did. Maybe they they improved, maybe they
got better through it all. But initial reactions, initial responses
to the trade.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
You Byron Turner, Byron Turner, Byron Young, Kobe Turner.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Her Young like the deep on that line.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
But the Rams really have a defense man that is
so good offensively. We know what they're gonna do. If
Aaron Donald decides to come back, this may be the
first time in his career that he's gonna get single blocks.
Speaker 4 (06:04):
He he's not gonna get double team.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Get double team because you have to account for Miles Garrett.
This is gonna be one of the first times in
a long time and.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
Myles Garrett career where.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
Whoa my team has a lead, they have to throw
the ball lead, you know, and so what the Rams
have done it is special. They've put together a special team.
It just feels good when you know you play for
an organization that's willing to do any and everything to
win it. And the Rams have shown us time and
(06:40):
time again that this is what they are willing to
do to get their team and their organization the best
chance possible. Cleveland on the underhand, on the other hand.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
I honestly, man, it might be right, but.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
No, no, no.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
On the other hand, man, I really think the Cleveland
Browns won this trade. I really do because as great
as Miles Garrett is, Jared Versus a very good.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
Young player, dope player.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
Really Now, Cleveland has done a pretty good job drafting.
They got a first, a second, and the third. If
two of those picks just turns out to be really
good players, I would say they've won it. Because Miles
Garrett is thirty. He gonna give you three to four
really good years, maybe five. Jared Versus probably has at
least eight really good years left in his career at least.
(07:33):
And you just got to hit on these draft picks.
The draft picks are always unknown. It's always the unknown.
That first round pick gonna be late. But if you're
gonna give up Miles Garrett, you have to get somebody
in return who's pretty good, which they did in first
and you get a first, a second, and a third,
And so I couldn't say I would say it's a
(07:56):
great trade for both teams. But what the Rams are
doing and have done, man, it's crazy super Bowl in LA.
They going all out for it, And for Aaron Donald
to say it has me thinking.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
That it's gonna happen. I believe he's gonna come back.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
Once you say that, It's almost like, why text that
if you really to pass, not gonna do it? If
you're really not gonna do it. You see his little
workout videos. He looked like he in great shape. It
ain't nothing like but yeah, you're gonna get single block
damn near every play plex.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
You came up in Pittsburgh, man, and you was around
some serious pass Russia to Pittsburgh, and then you went
to New York and you was around a serious D
line in New York, straight hand tuck, you and your
Matthias Key with Nukah. You was around a whole bunch
of like what we're talking about right now, how do
you see this from your your perspective and your angle
(08:55):
in terms of what a defensive line of this caliber
could do with your team?
Speaker 7 (09:00):
Man, just being the offensive guy and having played against,
you know, a great defensive player, especially up front, I mean,
how do you account for Miles Garrett and Aaron Donald
in the passing game? I mean it's it's it's virtually
impossible because you know it, Miles Garrett earns a double
team almost every play, so so so you lose your
back with chipping him, and you have to make a
(09:22):
decision if you want to double down on Aaron Donald
to try to keep him out of the backfield, and
it changes your whole offensive game plan schematically because listen, man,
we can't afford to, you know, have those you know,
five five steps, seven step dropbacks in the passing game
because we don't have that much time with these two
guys that we're facing, so automatically, you know, we gotta
(09:43):
get we gotta get the ball out of our hands quick,
quick game, and you know, different things like that. But
I'm just saying, been thinking about the whole Aaron Donald
coming out of retirement. I believe every team in the NFC,
the conference and especially division. Everybody saying, Aaron Donald, please
don't come out of retirement, because there's.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
No answer for that. It's just simply.
Speaker 7 (10:08):
Not I'm thinking that I'm a good historian up this game,
but I can't remember two guys of such dominance, two
time defensive players of the Year that have dominated their
positions to play on the same front. I go back
to Kevin Green and Greg Lloyd OC and the straight hand,
(10:32):
and you can go down the list and try to
put together two guys on a defensive defensive line that
have been here, an't. I don't believe it's ever happened.
I just don't remember two guys like that playing together.
But to just you know, comment on what Tej said,
(10:54):
it's a great trade for the Cleveland Browns if those
draft picks paying out. But when Miles Garrett walks in
the building in LA, he makes everybody better.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
Man.
Speaker 7 (11:07):
The offensive line, that left tackle, who he's going to
be going against, you know every day is in practice.
Those guys are going to get better. But I just
said to myself, I said, when I first initially heard it,
I said, what in the hell of the Cleveland Browns thinking?
But I think Andrew Barry knew that Miles Garrett was
unhappy being in Cleveland, and he understood the value of
(11:28):
a Miles Garrett just like you said. He's thirty years old.
You know, he may have five six years of dominant
football left film. But if the Cleveland Browns do happen
to get it right, which they haven't been able to
do for two or three decades outside of Miles Garrett
and draft well and have these guys panning out to
be great players, We're just gonna have to wait and
(11:49):
see what happens with the Cleveland Browns. You know, two
or three years will move from this trade and see
who if La or the Cleveland Browns, which one of
these won.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
The trade fellas.
Speaker 5 (12:01):
My conclusion is Cleveland waived the white flag and said
we're not going to be a competitive team. We're going
to figure out if we have a quarterback and go
from there, most likely setting yourself up for a quarterback
in next year's draft. And you have no expectations. You
(12:22):
traded away your expectations. Love Jared versus, but you traded
away your expectations when you traded away the undeniable, undisputed
face of your franchise and of your town, your city,
your borough, your state. You're scenting packing. You gave the
white flag for the Rams. You said no excuses. So
(12:44):
with whom what much is given, much is required, no excuses.
So now you've made this a Super Bowl or bus
year with what you did. Hey, God bless you. You
put a spotlight on yourself.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
I like it, I like.
Speaker 5 (13:00):
To move, but that could ultimately backfire on you too,
So we'll have to see how that all plays out.

He's drawn a line in Tampa. This is up on game.

To read it so clearly, fellas, here we go.
Speaker 5 (15:48):
Dylan Gabriel, as if he hasn't already been disrespected enough
by the way things have been handled with him being
a third round draft pick for the Cleveland rounds. Jared
Verse gets to town. He takes the number eight, comes
out to practice like Debo took his chain, like my
(16:09):
mama gave me that number. Man, Mama, he gonna cry
in the car. How do y'all see this? Is this
disrespect or is this natural pecking order? You gotta all
pro you guys, you gotta you gotta defensive you know,
rookie of the defensive, rookie of the year that comes in.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Does this already spell the end for Dylan Gabriel?
Speaker 5 (16:32):
That not only did Verse take it, but some way, somehow,
you gotta say the Cleveland Browns allowed.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
Him to do it. What's y'all's take on it?
Speaker 4 (16:41):
Man? Okay, I'll say this.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
Jared Verse, Uh, he could really and he may have
just really going there in strong arm and say I'm
taking number eight. Facts, but bro, this dude tradition, like
we didn't make these rules. You can't just I don't
care where Dylan Gabrael is on the depth chart, where
(17:09):
he is on the team, if he's the fifty third man,
fifty fourth, it don't matter, man. Just out of respect, man,
you can't go in there and just take somebody number.
You got to pay that man for his number or
he has to willingly give it up.
Speaker 4 (17:21):
That that's just how I feel.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
I just feel it's so disrespectful to going.
Speaker 4 (17:26):
There and be like, boy, this is my number.
Speaker 7 (17:28):
I don't give up what you say, I'm taking it, Like,
just exactly what's happening to j I don't.
Speaker 4 (17:34):
I hope not. That's all I'm saying, is I hope not.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
At the end of the day, whether you're giving five, ten, eight, whatever,
give him five grand, give him make grand, give him
ten grand something, give him something for the number. Don't
just strong gar me from the number because it is
his number, like it was his number?
Speaker 4 (17:57):
Is it? You might be right, you might be right,
but I just.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
This are they sending it? I mean, is this a
message to do?
Speaker 5 (18:05):
I felt like because the team has to allow for
you to do it, Like I don't care how much
of a debo bully, Like I'm being funny, but plex.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
I mean, if you're giving if.
Speaker 5 (18:16):
You're giving him the number to wear, he didn't just
walk in the back and take the number and they're like, yeah,
we ain't saying nothing to them. Something had to have
been said. He was confident with the number on taking
the number. That says something to me about what the
organization feels about Gabriel.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
I mean, could I be wrong?
Speaker 4 (18:32):
On that.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
You know, the organization wants Jared Versus to feel comfortable,
so they gave him number eight. But at the end
of the day, Jared Versus knows Dylan Gabriel has number
eight shipping.
Speaker 4 (18:42):
Mind, I don't know how true that is. I really don't.
Speaker 7 (18:44):
First of all, you Jared Versus not happy at all
about being traded from la to Cleveland.
Speaker 4 (18:51):
His cads come out and say that, Yeah.
Speaker 7 (18:53):
I mean, you go from basically from first to a
worse now you get there.
Speaker 4 (19:00):
Everybody knows. Everybody knows.
Speaker 7 (19:03):
Just because he's born to Dayton, Ohio, just because he's
born to date Ohio, Sean McVay doesn't mean he wants
to go back to Ohio.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
You didn't.
Speaker 4 (19:11):
You didn't even tell him until he was being traded.
Speaker 7 (19:15):
I mean, come on, man, the trade had already happened,
and then Sean mvag gonna go to him.
Speaker 4 (19:19):
Hey man, you've been traded. That's on a whole nother note.
Speaker 7 (19:22):
But as far as the number eight is concerned, when
you arrive at a new.
Speaker 4 (19:27):
Team, this happened to me.
Speaker 7 (19:29):
So I'm very knowledgeable, and you know how this whole
thing took place. Jeff Fiegels was wearing number seventeen. When
I came to the New York Giants and two thousand
and five I signed on March seventeen, Team Patrick's day,
nobody had number seventeen. The league WHI ie receiver, I
want a number seventeen. I said, I want number seventeen.
They say, all right, cool, it'll be in your lock
(19:50):
at practice. That's all they said. They didn't say anything
that Jeff. They just took his number. They gave it
to me the rest of history. But now with this
whole Dylan Gabriel thing, like Lavosce said, everything has not
been going well for this young man from the point
that he was drafted, the whole thing with your door him.
(20:10):
Last year he goes one in five as a starter
in six games income Jared Verse, he wants to wear
number eight, and you have to go to the equipment
manager or somebody or the head coach and say I
want to wear number eight.
Speaker 4 (20:24):
Yeah, And they gave it to him.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
They gave it to him. Yes, they that insinuated.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
He didn't go to the equipment people over the phone
he said something or they just gave it to him
because they know he wore number eight.
Speaker 7 (20:42):
They gave it to him either they gave it to him.
So Dylan Gabriel is going to be out of number eight.
I don't know how this transaction is going to take place.
Is he just going to go in and devoted whole situation,
give me number eight. I'm taking it, there's no question asked.
Or is he going to, you know, traditionally go to
Dylan Gabriel and offer him some of the amount of
(21:04):
money so he can wear number eight. Knowing Dylan Gabriel
with some of the comments that he has made in
the media leading up to this point, I don't believe
that there's no number dollar wise that is going to
make Dylan Gabriel give up his number eight to Jef Verse.
(21:25):
But if you're the Cleveland Browns, you trade away your
franchise player. So you want to make Jared Versus happy.
So what do you do if you're the Cleveland Browns,
will a forward? I think that Dylan Gabriel is going
to be the odd man out at the end of
the day when it comes to this number eight.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
All right, we know he's an odd man out. Just
sliding some bread, sliding some.
Speaker 5 (21:48):
Bread, all right, No speaking of sliding bread, Baker Mayfield.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
Before we get to the update, we got two minutes.
Speaker 5 (21:56):
Baker Mayfield wants some bread slid to him, and there's
a hard deadline at camp, all right. He's saying, they're
not They're not anywhere close. He's averaging thirty three million
a year that ranks roughly sixteenth among qbs, so you
would have to say that he is probably underpaid. How
(22:17):
do you guys see this this playing out? He resurrected
his career in Tampa, back to back Pro Bowl seasons,
two division titles. He has played very well for this team.
How do you see this is the deadline? Is it
leverage for for for Baker Mayfield or is this something
that could blow up in his face as he's taking
(22:40):
a stand to get more money.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
Fellas, Baker is underpaid right now when you look at
what quarterbacks are making. Thirty million a year and so,
and he's been underpaid the last couple of years. But
at the end of the day, the Tampa Bay Bucks
are saying, hmm, we didn't make the playoffs last year.
We don't know how this season is going to go.
Do we want to like and I don't know, and
(23:02):
I don't know what Baker wants, but you would assume
at least forty eight to fifty two minimum do we
want to pay Baker Mayfield that amount of money and
possibly not make the playoffs. So I believe the Bucks
are gonna wait to see what happens. They're gonna because
(23:23):
you know, Baker said, if we don't sign by training camp,
I'm not signing a deal. He's willing to bet on himself,
and I believe the Bucks are willing to bet on
themselves that, Okay, we're gonna call your bluff because at
the end of the day, the Pittsburgh Steelers are pretty
much the only team that will have a good enough
(23:46):
season where they won't be able to draft high and
they may not have a future quarterback on that roster.
Where is he gonna go That's gonna give him that
type of money in free agency?
Speaker 7 (23:57):
It all comes down to tell them me, bucket is
if they will if they see Baker Millfield as the
future and being a franchise quarterback. But forty eight to
fifty million, fifty million dollars a year, when you're saying
Bacon Mayfield, I just don't believe the front office is
saying that, you know, we want to retain Baker Mayfield,
but not at that dollar. I mean, forty eight to
(24:17):
fifty million dollars a year for Bakon Mayfield is kind
of a stretch for me because that is like top
five quarterback money. It's not fifty million dollars a year.
It's not top five dolls. No, Well, I don't know
where I've been at a fifty million dollars a year
for Bacon Mayfield. I mean, if you time baby Bucket Lidgs,
(24:39):
you gotta better yourself because for number one, no Mike Evans,
number two no Chris Godwin. So offensively, who are these
guys that Baker Millers, Baker Mayfield is going to be
able to throw to to basically prove his point that
he does deserve you know, this forty forty five, forty
eight fifty million dollar contract moving forward, and do you
(25:00):
see him as the franchise quarterback for the next five, six,
seven years for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Speaker 4 (25:08):
That's the question that they have to ask you real quick.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
Lamar is the ninth paid highest quarterback in the league
at fifty two a year.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
Jalen hurt is ten at fifty one. Is he is
he in that category. No, okay, so he's not in
the top ten quarterback.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
Here, I'm the biggest probably wise, here's the biggest.
Speaker 5 (25:27):
Here's the biggest dilemma is that Baker is their best option.
There's no better option out there for Tampa Bay. And
if you pay him, that's on the GM and the
head coach. So if they don't have a good year
and they pay you know, Baker Mayfield, you have to
assume that that you know, the head coaches is up
(25:48):
out of there and the GM could be.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Up for for for the.
Speaker 5 (25:53):
Same type of exit as well if Tampa Bay doesn't
have a good year.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
So I think this is this is a this is
a high end.
Speaker 5 (26:00):
Pack situation that could play out in Tampa Bay.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
What happens with Baker Mayfield.
Speaker 5 (26:05):
Listen, let's let's get let's take a quick break up
up after this break.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
Well, so it's an update, is what it is.
Speaker 5 (26:11):
Uh, we're all talk Christian Watson and uh Brandon I
you but let's get to Isaac long Crown.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
What you got for us? My guy?
Speaker 8 (26:18):
Hello LeVar, Hello fellas. We'll start with Game two of
the NBA Finals on Friday night, saw the New York
Knicks witted San Antonio again. What O five one oh
four for two games to non lead. Jalen Brunson the
game winning free throw with nine point five to play
after a victor wemben Yama turnover. And guys, here is
how the broadcasters from wemben Yama's native France described his
(26:41):
faithful turnover.
Speaker 9 (26:42):
Listen, no he know here.
Speaker 8 (26:56):
To translate Fox Sports Radio. Excuse my French insider LeVar Arrington, LeVar.
Speaker 4 (27:03):
We needed to beat at.
Speaker 2 (27:05):
Least two to three.
Speaker 8 (27:08):
French sayings there that was That was actually the French
word for foul, because well, Miyamas subsequently committed the foul.
So that's actually what they were saying.
Speaker 2 (27:17):
Fe we come from France, exactly, we come from France.
Speaker 8 (27:23):
Those France broad broadcasters very excitable.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
Anyway, they're trying to send him back to France.
Speaker 8 (27:31):
The next thirteen game winning streek, the second longest wedding
streak could playoff history. In college football, The n C
Double A has denied Texas tex appeal to have quarterback
Brendan Sorosby's eligibility reinstated. N C Double A originally ruled
Soorsby to be ineligible after he admitted to gambling and
Major League Baseball. Friday Night, Freddie Freeman a game winning
home run at the bottom of the ninth inning, giving
(27:52):
the Los Angeles Dodgers a one nothing triumph over the Angels.
The New York Mets wanted San Diego five nothing. They
won six of eight. The Washington Nationals victorious at Arizona
fourteen to one. Luis Garcia Junior two home runs, including
a Grand Slam. Finally, in tennis, today, nineteen year old
Russian Mira Andreavo won the French Open Ladies title over
(28:12):
Poland's Maya Wallenska in straight sets. Guys, all yours.
Speaker 5 (28:16):
Appreciated Alo, talk about polar opposite. You got money in
Mayhem Fellas. Both Christian Watson and Brandon Ayyuk hit the
number one hundred. They went over one hundred one hit
for one hundred and ten point five million, an extension
one hit one hundred and eleven miles per hour for
(28:37):
a warrant. Do we one? I mean, I think both
are dangerous. I think both situations are dangerous. But tell
me which one. Which one ends in in the in
the right in the right path. I mean it doesn't
look good for Auk, but I gotta say, is it
(28:58):
is it? Is this a danger you deal with? Green
Bay just did for the simple fact that Christian Watson,
as gifted and as talented as he is, he just
has not been able to show that he's durable and
can stay healthy. How you guys see this, how's the
playout for Christian Watson? How does it play out for
Brandon Nyuk?
Speaker 3 (29:17):
Listen, when you're Chris, when you're Christian Watson and you
can get twenty seven million a year, zero point six
and your best season is six hundred and eleven yards, man,
I'm happy for you.
Speaker 4 (29:32):
Man. That's crazy. Six hundred and eleven yards.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
Once is thirty one signings.
Speaker 4 (29:39):
In eleven yards?
Speaker 2 (29:41):
Come on?
Speaker 4 (29:41):
Is his best season and that got.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
Him twenty seven million dollars.
Speaker 4 (29:47):
So for that, I'm happy for him. Man. The potential's there,
he just hasn't done it.
Speaker 3 (29:51):
And when you've been in the league now as long
as he has, the injuries and just not being able
to put together a type of season you would think
would warring that contract. But you are worth whatever somebody
is willing to pay you. So any player that goes
out there and gets that money, man, I'm always happy
for him.
Speaker 4 (30:10):
That will be expectations.
Speaker 3 (30:12):
I just don't understand what Green Bay is doing because
you give Jayden Reid I believe it was three years
fifty million. You get Christian Watson four years, one hundred
and ten million. But didn't you just draft Matthew Golden
in the first round who you really didn't utilize them
last year? So where does this put him? Normally when
you draft receiving the first round, you want to feature him,
you want to get him the ball, you want to
(30:33):
get him involved, and so I don't know how that looks.
But for Christian Watson, congratulations mane, I'm happy for you.
Is just now what this contract is going to come?
Crazy expectations, So you got to stay healthy and live.
Speaker 4 (30:46):
Up to it.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
They let Dobbs and Wicks walk away.
Speaker 5 (30:49):
Do you guys feel as though did the plex Do
you feel as though there was pressure on them to
have to deliver and make Watson feel comfortable about being there?
Speaker 3 (30:59):
Doubt Staff is a free agent man. He left as
a free agent. No, I don't think there was no
reason to bring him back.
Speaker 7 (31:08):
It depends on what Green Bay is thinking, you know,
moving down the road, because what do they say your
best ability is your availability ability, and for Christian Washington
that just not has been the case because he hasn't
been able to stay on the football field and ain't
really produced. But thirty five catches, six hundred and eleven yards
get you one hundred and ten million dollars. It's definitely
a new day and age in the NFL as far
(31:29):
as the wide receivers concerned, because thirty five catches at
our day was like the third down receiver coming in
the game. But you know, he's going to be a starter. Obviously,
there has to be more expectations for him, you know,
landing his contract and with Golden I believe that Green
Bay wants a three wide receiver set anyway, So all
of those guys are going to be on the field
(31:51):
at the same time. It's just going to come down.
It's going to come down to Jordan Love and can
they protect them and is he going to be that
elite talent that we see in him, you know, consistently
on a week to week basis. I believe that's that's
the number one question about this offense. Can Christian watch
and stay on the field, and can Jordan Love take
(32:14):
that next step to being an elite quarterback, which I
believe he can, but he just has to go out
and prove it. And I think that that the Green
Bay will be able to compete in this NFC North Division.
Speaker 5 (32:26):
Brandon iuke towards ACL his MCL in October twenty four.
He's been out as long as Aaron Donald's been back,
so they were to both make a comeback. I mean, hell,
what's the difference? One still active, one retire but both
have been out for a little bit. Twenty seven. San
Francisco voided twenty seven million and twenty twenty six of
(32:47):
guarantees after he skipped rehab. They placed him on reserve.
Obviously they don't want him. They have no trade value
for him, no trade partner available. What happens here with
Brandon and I? How does that end?
Speaker 4 (33:02):
Take that?
Speaker 7 (33:02):
Plaux. I'm gonna go right after you. Uh you know what, Brandon, y'all?
You you just really don't know moving forward? How healthy?
How healthy is he? And you know he's throwing throwing
gasoline on the fire with with I guess driving over
one hundred miles an hour.
Speaker 2 (33:20):
So it was old footage, by the way, it was old, But.
Speaker 7 (33:24):
It doesn't it doesn't how it matter how old it is,
it has surfaced, and you know, I don't believe it's
really going to hurt him that much moving forward. But
I think for Christian washing Man, I'm not not a
Christian washington For Brandon, he just has to get on
a football feel and show people that that he can,
you know, play the position and that he's healthy. I
(33:45):
think that's the number one thing for him with any team. Uh,
you know, moving forward, he just has to show us that,
you know, his knee is one hundred percent because you
showed us that when he is healthy.
Speaker 4 (33:56):
Uh, he's one of.
Speaker 7 (33:56):
The best deep threats in all of football. You over
seventeen y'aralls a catch. So so for him, we just
got to see BRANDI Brandon I get on a football
field and see if he can still play the position.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
Is he cudible?
Speaker 4 (34:11):
He's gonna get because that's the only way.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
Yeah, that's the only way you're go from them.
Speaker 4 (34:17):
Listen, LeVar, listen, listen, listen.
Speaker 3 (34:19):
When you do what Brandon Nyuk has done, I'm not
going to the rehab, I'm not showing up. I'm gonna
just ghost the entire team and organization. Would you do
him any favors. So the Niners are saying, oh, you
said f me, We're gonna f you right back.
Speaker 4 (34:40):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (34:40):
They're going to release him the last possible day. They
are going to make it as hard as possible for
him to have an impact on any team because you
didn't care about our team and organization.
Speaker 4 (34:51):
Now we're gonna treat you the same way you treated us.
That's all they're doing.
Speaker 3 (34:56):
Like somebody that's willing to give up over forty plus
million dollars in guarantee money that was guaranteed, you think
he'd give a damn about anything.
Speaker 4 (35:08):
So if you're a team, you.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
Got to be careful because he gave up that type
of money.
Speaker 4 (35:16):
What what's gonna matter to him? It ain't the money
what matters to him.
Speaker 2 (35:21):
That's that's an interesting set.
Speaker 4 (35:23):
Be reunited with Jaydon Dails.
Speaker 3 (35:26):
Now, that's fine, and I'm sure they the commanders, would
love that. But as I you gonna love the amount
of money that they offer him, because if you're the
commanders and you offer him a good amount.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
Of count they voided on him. But wait, what'd you
say plex.
Speaker 4 (35:40):
He got paid?
Speaker 2 (35:42):
That was he got paid.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
He got paid from the Niners. He had forty plus
million dollars in guarantee money that he let go because
he didn't want to show up to rehab.
Speaker 4 (35:51):
Yeah, so like what he would be the money? So
if you're the command.
Speaker 2 (35:55):
You can't be the money, then you ain't got much
if you pay him.
Speaker 3 (35:59):
If you pay him any type of money, you a fool.
You should get fired immediately.
Speaker 2 (36:04):
Why what he's going to do?
Speaker 3 (36:05):
Why why would you pay him that type of money
when he's active? A fool in San Francisco when you
see the webs played out, but you think he's gonna
act different for you with that?
Speaker 7 (36:14):
What does that have to do with any other team
based off of somewhere where he wants to be versus
Because it's it's not wanting to be in San Francisco,
it's the optics of it. Like do you know what
it's going to be said? Because Adam Peters is a
general manager in Washington. If Adam Peters gives him a
good deal, you know they're going to be laughing behind
(36:34):
his back. And if it doesn't work out, Adam Peters's
career in the National Football League would be over because
all the signs were there.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
Jane Daniels could be a good reason why.
Speaker 3 (36:45):
And he may be a great reason. He may be
a great but I'm not risking my career over it.
I'm not risking my career over it. Not if I'm Adam,
you can't do that.
Speaker 5 (36:54):
The risk is paying him a lot of money to
come there. Somebody's going to take a chance on him.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
You know they're not going to play. But I'll take
a chance on him.
Speaker 3 (37:01):
Wait wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, take a chance on
him with what kind of contract?
Speaker 4 (37:05):
Everybody, just take a chance on him.
Speaker 7 (37:06):
It's gonna be be a can He may not get
one a thirty four million dollar of your contract, but
somebody will step out and give him a one year
contract for how much?
Speaker 4 (37:15):
For how much? I don't know, fifteen million, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (37:18):
Wrong, if they give you fifteen to twenty million, act
whoever does it should be fired the next day. So
you don't think you don't think he can get one
fifteen million dollar huntry, No gotta go.
Speaker 5 (37:27):
Last segment of the hour, hour one. Yeah, we're setting
the table for the finals and we're going to bring
in the man, the myth. That guy cuts the legend.
Next hour. It's up on Game on Fox Sports Radio
as you can see we're having some spirited conversations.
Speaker 2 (37:42):
Stay locked in.
Speaker 5 (37:43):
It's Fox Sports Radio. Welcome back in. It's up on
game the next they're up to two to oh. Game
three's on Monday at the Garden. The stakes, well, the circus. Well,
here's what I feel. The series is over. Knicks are
(38:04):
up to oh they've won thirteen straight playoff games, and
now they go home to building, well, to the building
that hasn't hosted a finals game since nineteen ninety nine.
Day what we were still in college down oh two
going into that environment, Cook the Spurs, they are done.
(38:27):
Finish Knicks in five. All right, this is the last segment.
We're setting the table for hour two. But going into
this next hour, the Knicks they were they're up to oh.
They they were seemingly going to lose. There was a
fourteen point lead, but they still ended up winning by one. Fellas,
(38:52):
just to get this conversation started before we bring cuffs
in plex, you played in New York City. Yeah, we'll
start with you. What do you think this means for
the city? Coming into the Garden and it hasn't been
a game there since nineteen ninety nine.
Speaker 7 (39:13):
Man, man, it's absolute friends. It's absolute frenzy out here
on the on the East Coast for us especially you know,
in the Tri State area. I've been to a Eastern
Conference Finals at the Garden, but I will be in
attendance of Game three at MSG because I've never been
to an NBA Finals with the Knicks playing in it,
so I can't imagine what the Madison Square Garden is
(39:35):
going to be like for Game three. Nobody saw the
Knicks going into San Antonio and coming out to OH.
I basically think that after watching these two games the Spurs,
I'm not going to be able to find a way
to get out of this series world champion. So it's
been a delight to watch Jalen Brunson and his crew
(39:57):
go about their work the way that they have. It
just seems like they just can score from everywhere, from
every angle, and they have. And the Spurs are on
the ropes two to Ozero going into the Garden. I
just hope it's not a sweep. You said Game.
Speaker 2 (40:11):
Five five Spurs and five they might.
Speaker 4 (40:14):
Still, ma'am.
Speaker 7 (40:16):
The sweep is on the table, and I couldn't imagine
the Knicks sweeping the Saniel San Antonio Spurs for the
last three series to win the World Championship.
Speaker 4 (40:25):
It would be amazing, so much to talk about. TJ.
Speaker 5 (40:28):
Get a quick thought on it before we get to
the break. But obviously this is just an appetizer for
the main course of our two.
Speaker 2 (40:34):
What of just a quick thought going in the hour.
Speaker 3 (40:37):
Two the Spurs, they just got to play better down
the stretch man. Yesterday last night they had the game
was there to be one? Game one? The game was
there to be one. They're not finishing down the stretch.
Weinby is playing a good game, but he can play better, Shay.
(40:57):
They gotta make this a series eight. They don't win
game three day getting swept, and so we will see
what happens on Monday.
Speaker 2 (41:05):
We got cuffs to legend an hour two. You're listening
to up on game. TJ.
Speaker 5 (41:09):
Hushman's out as Plexico burs. I'm LeVar Arrington this Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (41:13):
Will be right back
